- 3:39getting battery at each day. God is God is carrying me through this and
- 3:49I wouldn't be able to without. Before we get started, you shared with
- 3:55me a little bit of the background if you would, would you please,
- 4:02for the audience and anybody watching, tell us why you're here tonight. Well,
- 4:10I'm here tonight to share my story on your podcast, just in the
- 4:19to bring awareness and prevention of domestic violence. I lost my twenty three year
- 4:30old pregnant daughter, Keiana and my two year old granddaughter Marianna. The day
- 4:40that we found them was September thirteenth of twenty twenty. And lost my son.
- 5:01I'm not sure what just happened. Hopefully we can get her back up
- 5:08momentarily. Miss Williams, are you still there? I can't hear you.
- 5:16Yes, I'm here, okay, And so I don't know which conversation you
- 5:26want to have first, if you want to talk about your son or your
- 5:30daughters, So whichever you would like to speak on first. The floys yours?
- 5:39Thank you little telling you well, I'm star with my son. He
- 5:46was my first born, my only son. He was an amazing person had
- 5:57a heart that just a beautiful heart. He he didn't have any problems with
- 6:08people in the streets. He got along with everybody. And my son,
- 6:16he he was He was just the best son that any mother would want.
- 6:24He was respectful. He he made sure that that I was okay. He
- 6:35helped out with his siblings. He he had a daughter. She was four
- 6:46years old when he was murdered, and he had two on the way.
- 6:51He was murdered June second, twenty thirteen by his so called best friends in
- 7:02this middle school over seven hundred dollars. My son was stabbed. They had
- 7:14a fight in the bathroom Necker Trip and my son was walking out and the
- 7:20guy was been hiring a couple of people behind my son. He reached over
- 7:28them and stabbed him in the neck and the juggler and he collapsed and he
- 7:35lost sixty percent of his uh blah blah volume more than two minutes. I
- 7:44so when came when of his friends came to my house, and that told
- 7:49me he was in a fight. I never thought that he would be gone.
- 7:57You know. We went to the closest hospital and they said no,
- 8:01he wasn't there. The other hospital we went to well, we got there,
- 8:05there were security guards and they said they were all lockdown, we couldn't
- 8:09come through, and so I told them, I said, well, I
- 8:13know my son is here and I'm coming through. And so me and my
- 8:18husband walked up to the reception area. I asked the lady, is the
- 8:26Mario Lea here? And she looked at me like I was speaking a foreign
- 8:31language. So I walked back to the where the emergency rooms. Oh no,
- 8:45looks like we lost miss Williams. Hopefully we can get her log back
- 8:50in momentarily, and she's sharing her story of losing not only her son,
- 9:00but her daughter and her granddaughter. So bear with us as we try to
- 9:09get her back up and so she can share with you guys her story.
- 9:16I don't know what happened, but so I was walking back to the emergency
- 9:22room and two officers met me as I was going getting close, and they
- 9:31asked us. He said, are you Numarrio Lee parents? And we say
- 9:35yes, and he looked but he didn't see anything. And I said,
- 9:41well, words my son. I want to see him, and until I
- 9:45started walking back there, and he I said, is he in surgery or
- 9:50what? Because he wasn't saying anything, and then he said, I'm sorry,
- 9:58Yes, Vario deceased. And when he said he said my son was
- 10:05deceased, it it really didn't. I don't know if it was disbelief or
- 10:20I I just ran back there, tried to run back there to see him
- 10:24because I said I need to see him. I need to see him.
- 10:28And they said you can't see him because it would be friends and connect conemination.
- 10:35Right, So so I sat there and uh, I dropped to my
- 10:45knees and I just oh, I'm in the name of Jesus. And as
- 10:54I was on my knees, my dad walked in. I don't remember calling
- 11:01him, but I must have called him and told him about the fight.
- 11:07And when he came in, I I I just said, I said,
- 11:09Daddy, he's gone. He's gone. And he said, what do you
- 11:13mean, I said, Daddy gone. You killed him. And so my
- 11:22dad called the pastor right away. We sat in a bedtime of his room,
- 11:31waiting for anyone, a doctor, an offer, anyone to talk to
- 11:37us. They caught a cellphone and the picture of my son on the cellphone
- 11:46and wanted me to identify him like that, and my husband said, yo,
- 11:52I would do that, and so we sat there. It was about
- 11:56four in the morning. We sat there until nine. No one ever came
- 12:01out. No one never came up and told us how he died, what
- 12:07happened or anything. No nurses, no doctors, nothing, And so at
- 12:13nine they can't somebody came out and said, well, we're taking him to
- 12:22get our autopsy. And I said I didn't approve that it and they said,
- 12:26well, and the homicide is mandatory. So then the officers and the
- 12:37abbi was there because they had uh, my son of their investigation. He
- 12:48was, you know, living a lifestyle that that you know is is uh,
- 13:03there's no good ending to the lifestyles that he was living. He was
- 13:09he was selling us going back and forth on the highway, and he they
- 13:22started investigating him, and I guess they they said that they were gonna arrest
- 13:30him a week after he died, so we had to you know, uh
- 13:43the Purple Soul packed. There were so many people when it came out and
- 13:50showed there was fact and and you know then I just after everybody left and
- 14:01went home with their lives. I at first I tried to get uh uh
- 14:09account for at a home counsel from me, my girls, but I don't
- 14:16know if they was going ready because every question she actually just broke down crying,
- 14:22and we're not responsible. So I became really depressed. I didn't shower,
- 14:35I didn't eat like I said. I gained ninety pounds within three months.
- 14:41That put so much stress in my heart that I could hear my heart
- 14:46going boom boom, boom boom. But blah, blood pressure was running two
- 14:50forty over one ninety. Wow, none of it. As you said,
- 14:58I don't know how you're standing right now, he said, I know you
- 15:03just buried your son, but your family's gonna bury YouTube. So you know,
- 15:09of course I didn't want to die. I started in the pool walking
- 15:18back and forth because on the land it was too hard for me. I
- 15:26started doing exercise and walking back and forth of just moving my arms. You
- 15:33know. Uh. Changing my diet was a big thing. I put out
- 15:41all sort of and Paul Jump food and you know, I did kind of
- 15:50like the Keeto thin hype protein hype protein diet right and so oh I it
- 16:02took me six months. I lost one hundred and twenty pounds, but my
- 16:07knees were ruined and I had to go to Mayo in Rochester, which is
- 16:14their home base, to get my knees to place U. They usually don't
- 16:18do do it for people until they get fifty. I think I was around
- 16:23forty forty bordon and they knew I wouldn't make it until I was fifty because
- 16:33there was no cartilage. It was just bone around bones, bones, bones
- 16:38first, both both of them. So they gave me a medication and I
- 16:52became addicted to opius. I became addicted in UH and I told my doctor,
- 17:03I said, I think I'm addicted to people this medicine. He said,
- 17:07no, you're depending on it. So I went to a rehabilitation center.
- 17:15I was there for four days with no and I'm I'm thinking it's gonna
- 17:22be a breeze. And all of a sudden, the fourth day, I
- 17:30was sitting in the group and my stomach just flipped and I just that,
- 17:37God damned myself. And after that it was hell, either you know,
- 17:47throwing up or or you know, diarrhea. We could a hospital next door
- 17:55to get ivy for fluids, but I was so dry they could get it.
- 17:59I M it's the worst withdraw you can go through. But you know
- 18:08it's it's you know it should be done, you know, with your doctors,
- 18:25because you know, back then I wasn't on diabetic. Now, back
- 18:29then I wasn't a diabetic, and so if I was, then you know,
- 18:37I could you know, I could get really sick. So I got
- 18:47my surgery. I started to get a lot better. I I started going
- 18:52to a church First Street, evangelically pur and I found that that the what
- 19:10they happy it was because the church that I was going to at first,
- 19:21I just I just no, no, no, I just was it.
- 19:27So they were so supportive, you know, Okay, I loved the way
- 19:47you know that care for or congregation. Hey, I got involved in women's
- 19:56Bible studies and I learned a lot of things that I didn't know. So
- 20:08I started to get better. Also, the person that that my son the
- 20:22quick try to use say that my son because of his side, he was
- 20:34scared. But but was it something you're going in and out. I can't
- 20:48hear you. Okay. He tried to claim self defense, but everyone that
- 20:55you know, everyone knows that it was a self defense because my son was
- 21:00in the front and he stabbed him from the back, you know, And
- 21:04so you know, I just feel like that jury has the answer to God.
- 21:12They have blood up their hands and they didn't carry anyway because it was
- 21:18black on black crime. There was no no blacks on that jury. So
- 21:27then you know, I my group, my daughter got pregnant. Kianna got
- 21:37pregnant, and she she got pregnant with Marianna, and she was so happy
- 21:47and just her parent herself for to be a great mother, and she was.
- 22:00They were so charismatic and fun to be around. I moved in the
- 22:11same complex as her and we were only three day three like a few houses
- 22:15at the park. M Mayanna came, Oh we we We kept me Marianna
- 22:22almost daily, you know, and my family did. And in Illinois they
- 22:30helped out all a lot. She met this guy. He gotta met this
- 22:40guy. Yeah, I'm not gonna say his name. He's a monster.
- 22:45Well his name is Reynard Carter if anyone wants to look it up. He
- 22:55she met him a snapshot m I met him and I told her, I
- 23:02said there's something about him. And she said, why do you say that.
- 23:04I said, because he can't even look at me. And I I
- 23:10was asking him questions like, you know, where are you from, you
- 23:15know, what do you do? You know, and then I googled him
- 23:21and I found him out some things, and I told my daughter she he
- 23:29became abusive to her. One night she caught us at four o'clock in the
- 23:34morning. We went over there. We were in over there in our night
- 23:38clothes to put him out because he took her keys, her Derek, herd
- 23:48and everything, and so we put him out. And that was on a
- 23:56Friday, it was the fourth July. We can When we came back on
- 24:02that Monday, he was there again. And when they were standing outside doing
- 24:08sparklers, and when Marianna saw us, she tried to run to us and
- 24:15she grabbed her bag because she knows that she's always going over there in Papa's
- 24:22house. But my daughter said, no, you're not going. You always
- 24:27do that when you see them. So I think she thought that probably thought
- 24:36that he wouldn't him her if the baby was around. I don't know,
- 24:40right, yeah, but I was in the hospital for about nine days.
- 24:52When I got out, she came over and she had an impair of sunglasses
- 24:57with her prescription gass up under and I said, why do you have a
- 25:02glass or something like that, and she was like, she shrugged her hit
- 25:07shoulders like, I don't know. Well, I found out that her eyes
- 25:12were blood shot from himself strangling her before I found that out from her her
- 25:23friend, And so I don't know why tell us it was it's so much
- 25:37danger trying to get me climbed on top of her ship to climb into the
- 25:47second floor. What he has stories And every time she would call the police,
- 26:04of course he would run. They really didn't do anything because he Minnesota
- 26:11was supposed to be supervising him. So after that, I don't know why,
- 26:22except for someone told me that, and it's a reliable source that he
- 26:34told her that he was gonna chill us, her parents and her grandparents if
- 26:41she didn't if she didn't go to Minnesota with him. So she went to
- 26:45Minnesota. She called me on a Monday and told me, I'm on the
- 26:51way home. We never talked him before. We always FaceTime, right,
- 26:56And I said, okay. I waited. It takes about forty minutes from
- 27:03where she was at. I waited, and it got dark, and I
- 27:08knew that she wouldn't she doesn't drive in the dark woods. So I started
- 27:14calling her phone. I got no answer. I didn't even know where the
- 27:22it the apartment was that they lived in. So he started texting back like
- 27:33Thursday, and then he put on her snapchat. I just want to be
- 27:40alone and don't want to be bothered, and so he was pretending like he
- 27:45was her. He we don't know exactly what happened. You know, during
- 27:53the murderings. I have to discovery and I read most of it. But
- 28:02we know that when he killed Kiana, he he recorded it and put him
- 28:14face looked like as she took her last breath and he got it. He
- 28:22stepped over her or got in the shower or looked at the mirror brushing his
- 28:26hair, and she had defecated on her itself and he was talking her about
- 28:33that all. Uh Marianna wasn't in the video. U we don't know exactly.
- 28:45We don't we think that he had already killed her. He had put
- 28:56on his Facebook that I hate black women and he was known to date mostly
- 29:07white women. Uh Gianna was she wasn't even five guitars. She was so
- 29:17petite. It's so SMU and what when took it puts your heart that they
- 29:33just felt it. Really it it for people to tell me after the fact
- 29:41that this happened. This happened. Well, you could have told me did
- 29:45right, you know, don't tell me now right. There was a family
- 29:51that her baby daddy's sister. Her sisters set up a both for me and
- 30:03without the dudes, pretending like you's key on his parents, and I got
- 30:11the video and everything, and so we waited until we got both of their
- 30:18bodies because we didn't want any problems with the baby daddy, right, And
- 30:26so it was about ten of us around. We called it our speaker and
- 30:30that story. Why would you go on the dudes and day the true our
- 30:34key of his parents and have a goal fund me? He said, I
- 30:41didn't do that. The news did that. So we called the police and
- 30:48we told them to take down. We already had one up. And his
- 30:57families was, you know, so toxic in my daughter's life. They stole
- 31:07from her, they grew grooved her. One of the the daughters dated my
- 31:19son and afterwards she she was trying to have sexual intercourse with my daughter.
- 31:32She was only thirteen or fourteen years old, but she groomed her. She
- 31:38h. They stole from her and he stole her full stemps. They followed
- 31:45her income tax and screwed her up. She old like seventy five hundred dollars
- 31:52and she didn't even rate that in a year. They they let us stay
- 32:00in their place, just to take all her money. She had got a
- 32:07job at the gas station that myself was killed. They gave her fifteen hundred
- 32:13dollars for a department. This family took the money from her. This foundily,
- 32:25this say always says, Oh, she was like a daughter to me.
- 32:30No, if she was a daughter to you, when you seen her
- 32:32in trouble, you would have, you know, reacted yes. And so
- 32:40you know she's even today, like last week, she they sent me messages,
- 32:50they stot me on my social media pages, you know, and just
- 32:59they've just been spot people. She was saying, Uh, polity a crooked
- 33:07face. Uh the RC, I have Bell's posies. I'm from distress,
- 33:15so sometimes you know my face rightly, we get over the side. But
- 33:22you know it doesn't bother me. Uh. And the weirdest thing about it
- 33:30is, I put my my children in a busoleum and their grandmother, their
- 33:40mother and grandmother passed away, and they put her that's to my girls.
- 33:49And you know it's so weird because they're not they're not related to her.
- 33:59Oh, they're no blood relationship with her, and so, you know the
- 34:07problems that I have with them, I thought would be over after my daughter
- 34:15passed away, but they still want to continue to harass me. And you
- 34:21know that the toxic miserable people is So you know what God says, VICH
- 34:30is mine. I believe that and I know that it's true, and so
- 34:35I know that he will have though He will have on this. So are
- 34:39you able to get like a restraining order against these people? Well, I
- 34:45talked to I talked to someone about that, and I thought I would have
- 34:51to go because she lives in Minnesota. I thought I would have to go
- 34:54to Minnesota. She said I could follow it here right Lacrosse. So that
- 35:02has been uh big, you know, that has been a thought. And
- 35:10I saved all the you know, the messages and everything that they said.
- 35:19Her and her daughter said to me, this woman has eight kids and it's
- 35:28fifty something years old. They're talking about fighting. Lady, you know,
- 35:34you should be talking about your your kids that say T scores. You know.
- 35:38So it's just it's just sad. We when we went to court,
- 35:50h we went to every single court dage. The first the first time they
- 35:55called us at eight o'clock in the morning. And after he okay, after
- 36:00he murdered our girls, he went on the rug or some of it that
- 36:08he she didn't know him well. He asked her to go with him.
- 36:15So she went with him, and she said that he started behaving really strange,
- 36:22and so when she got to Chicago, she jumped out at a stoplight.
- 36:28It ran and she went to the hotel. The police and they you
- 36:35know, didn't believe her and didn't do anything. So he had it.
- 36:40Capt had it to South Carolina. He got there with the intendes killing his
- 36:47ex girlfriend and his three children by her. But they had got her,
- 36:54they had got her to safety. They got it and he had to shoot
- 37:01out at the hotel with the police. He was trying to do so suicide
- 37:08by cop and he was he was videotaping this of Facebook live also for everybody
- 37:15to see. I don't know if he wanted to him think that he would
- 37:22was uh Marner or something, but you know, you you're just the eagle
- 37:28demon. And so they shot him three times like in the body shot and
- 37:36he he didn't read this stuffter that come to find out, he had a
- 37:42baby done so. Uh so after the murders, the his family, his
- 37:53his mother was on YouTube and for how we talked about how good her son
- 38:01was and how you know, how he would do anything like this, and
- 38:09and it just was disgusting that she was in denial and didn't she claimed to
- 38:20be a a woman, a guide and a minister, but the way that
- 38:28she was talking was, you know, as if she was like in a
- 38:32court or something. Her brother one of my daughter's Facebook and took pictures of
- 38:42them, of my daughter and my granddaughter and put him unlike au a real
- 38:50and put a song on it. And so I messist them and asked them
- 38:54to tack it down. They never gave us any candoless or said I'm sorry
- 39:02for your loss. I told him, I said, you know your nephew,
- 39:10h it's the devil and God who would take care of him. M
- 39:20He said, well, I don't know what happened to him, but he
- 39:25listen never like this. So again I looked her up and he had charged
- 39:35in Chicago, South Carolina, everywhere. His brother that's a year older than
- 39:42him, looks exactly like him. They could be identical twitters. He was
- 39:46in prison for twenty two years for raping a three year old girls. And
- 39:55so one thing, I'm sorry, what your if my granddaughter was raped or
- 40:04molested? And I talked to the medical examiner and he said, you know,
- 40:09they checked for that and checked to see if he deceived it is air.
- 40:17I know that. You know, September thirteenth was not that they that
- 40:23they were murdered. They were murdered. The Freedoho thinks that they were.
- 40:34It was a week uh prior, so that would have been that the last
- 40:39day that I talked to her. Wow, because of the way that they're
- 40:45the conditions of her body. When when we got everybody's back, something I
- 40:54felt like the Holy Spirit told me not to go down and look at him.
- 40:59So my husband, my father, and my daughter went down there.
- 41:04They immediately ran back up, ran outside and was Baba D said, that's
- 41:13not them, that's not them. And so my daughter, my oldest daughter,
- 41:19Brianna, she was gonna do her makeup, but it was too hard
- 41:25for her mentally, so we found somebody else to do her makeup, and
- 41:37Brianna bought her a beautiful dress. Brianna loved Mackey Mouse, so we got
- 41:45her a peek of white Nickey Mouse dress and my baby was so uh you
- 41:58know her arms for all couple cut up from the autopsy. And my sister
- 42:05Sabrina, she she was a big it had a big party on Brianna his
- 42:15life. She came up and she did Brianna's hair. Oh, I don't
- 42:24know how I mean. I at the funeral, I don't everything that I
- 42:35planned, all the sons that I picked, I don't remember anything. I
- 42:39passed out and my doctor said, when you're the trauma is so bad that
- 42:52your body goes into a fight or flight ball. Right, So so they
- 42:59got a will cheer to the outside and back and uh then I went back
- 43:07here. I said, right, it's in front of the casket. Get
- 43:10passed out. And so the criminal director at close it. I wouldn't him
- 43:24both up. Let's look, I can't hear you. I tried to pick
- 43:43up Banna, but you know she was before we important and just hardness and
- 43:50stalls and so after that, I U, I don't know. I went
- 44:07to it, met with the officials in Minnesota. I met with the elected
- 44:15the district attorney, the chief district attorney, and the assistant district attorney.
- 44:23Uh. They told me that they wanted him to die in prison. And
- 44:32I agreed with that, and so I thought we were on the same page.
- 44:39M But as time progressed, you know, I heard things like e
- 44:52court like uh. One of them said, well, we're in the process
- 44:57of making the deal. And so I asked them, I said, when
- 45:01you making a deal with her in our backs, you know, without even
- 45:07considering how we feel. And so he said, oh, you must just
- 45:15heard me. Oh, I heard you. And so they kept coming here,
- 45:22meeting on us, and at the rats sent I told them, I
- 45:27said, you know, how would you how would you how about this case
- 45:32go if they were white? I said, it would go totally to the
- 45:38right. I said, so, you know, first they have to in
- 45:46the state of Resola. They have to come to me with all the all
- 45:53the offers that he offered the monster. So he asked me for twenty twenty
- 46:02seven years, and I said no. Then he asked me for thirty three
- 46:09years. I said no. And then he asked me for forty years.
- 46:15I said no, I said, and they asked me, what would I
- 46:21agreed to? What I said, ahot three years. So he agreed to
- 46:29take uh the ninety ninety nine years thirty three years for each life my daughter
- 46:36the upward baby and Mariana. And when he got up up in court,
- 46:43he tried to say awful things about my daughter that weren't true. He the
- 46:54Marianna Dad, you know, I'm so upset that he he jumped for bitches
- 47:04to try to get damn But of course the guards were surrounding him right and
- 47:09protecting him, and he do this. So then he tried to the next
- 47:17week, he tried to play like he didn't understand to play and he wanted
- 47:23to you know, take it back. And so the jells have to evaluate
- 47:30that. She decided that the plast got to stand. Then he said that
- 47:38he was coursed by his attorneys. So they have to go on attorneyes had
- 47:45like a many trial, they have to they have to go understand and you
- 47:57know, when you have confidential records, all those records were open and had
- 48:04to be had to be if you know, talked about, and the lawyers
- 48:15could have possibly lost their license and if they was found to be uh,
- 48:22you know true. So uh they found that at the start he had another
- 48:28lawyer and at the sime, uh they that the lawyers did not do anything.
- 48:35And and so the next thing he did was say that he was in
- 48:44said, and so he had UH forensic e demitary of that UH evaluated him.
- 48:55He had three. The second one said that he was the most dangerous
- 49:02person that he's ever came in contact with, and if he's a lot of
- 49:08out, he will kill again it. The first one said that he has
- 49:16no rewards, no compassion, and he's a danger to everybody around him.
- 49:24The third one said that if if he was to be light out today,
- 49:35he would just he would just kill. I think he. I don't know,
- 49:42I think he. I don't know what. What could we go through
- 49:49somebody's head and to actually hurt you know, a baby? You know,
- 49:57it was just I can't I can't leave it. Uh. Oh, oh
- 50:07my god. She was well, she was so precious. Yeah, she
- 50:15was so sweet. Oh my god. But daughter let her heart of gold.

- 51:25I don't I I want to hurt, get hurt, but h I
- 51:36kilt right now. And that's understandable. You've gone through what would take down
- 51:49most people and you're still standing. So moving forward, how can we help
