- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie. It is time for us to
- 0:03Speaker 1: go to God in prayer, and today I ask that
- 0:06Speaker 1: you join along with me in prayer. On this family day,
- 0:10Speaker 1: I think about families that are hurting because of domestic life. Heavenly, Father,
- 0:16Speaker 1: we come before you today with heavy hearts, lifting up
- 0:20Speaker 1: those who are living in the painful reality of domestic violence. Lord,
- 0:25Speaker 1: you see every home where fear has replaced peace, where
- 0:29Speaker 1: raised voices have turned into wounds, and where love has
- 0:32Speaker 1: been distorted by anger and control. Father, you see the
- 0:37Speaker 1: men and women who feel trapped in situations that feel
- 0:40Speaker 1: impossible to escape. You see the bruises that are visible
- 0:44Speaker 1: and the deeper ones that are hidden. You hear the
- 0:47Speaker 1: cries that are spoken and the ones that are swallowed
- 0:51Speaker 1: in silence. Lord, be their refuge. For the ones who
- 0:55Speaker 1: feel powerless, remind them that you are their defender. For
- 0:59Speaker 1: the one who feels ashamed, remind them that this pain
- 1:04Speaker 1: is not their fault. For the one who feels afraid
- 1:06Speaker 1: to take the next step, surround them with courage, wisdom
- 1:10Speaker 1: and safe support. Father, we pray for protection. Place a
- 1:14Speaker 1: hedge of protection around every victim. Send the right people
- 1:17Speaker 1: into their lives. Counselors, friends, advocates, leaders who will help
- 1:21Speaker 1: them find safety and healing. Open doors for safe shelters,
- 1:25Speaker 1: resources and guidance. Let no one feel that they must
- 1:29Speaker 1: suffer in silence and isolation. Lord, we lift up the
- 1:33Speaker 1: children who witness violence in their homes. You see the
- 1:37Speaker 1: confusion in their hearts, You see the fear that settles
- 1:41Speaker 1: into their young spirits. Some children learn to hide, some
- 1:45Speaker 1: learn to cry quietly, and some carry trauma they do
- 1:48Speaker 1: not know how to express. Father, cover those children with
- 1:52Speaker 1: your peace. Protect their hearts from being hardened by what
- 1:55Speaker 1: they see. Break the cycle of violence so that what
- 1:59Speaker 1: they witness today does not become what they repeat tomorrow.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Feel the memories that haunt them, and restore their sense
- 2:07Speaker 1: of safety and trust. Lord, we also lift up the loves,
- 2:11Speaker 1: the parents, the siblings, the friends who feel helpless watching
- 2:15Speaker 1: someone they love in dear or peace. They want to
- 2:18Speaker 1: fix it, They want to rescue them, Yet they often
- 2:21Speaker 1: feel powerless and afraid. Give them wisdom and respond with
- 2:25Speaker 1: love and not judgment. Give them patience and stand beside
- 2:29Speaker 1: their loved one without punishing and pushing them away. Show
- 2:33Speaker 1: them how to offer support, protection and guidance. And Father,
- 2:37Speaker 1: we pray for transformation where violence exists. Touch the hearts
- 2:40Speaker 1: of those who are causing harm. Confront the anger, the brokenness,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and the pain that feels destructive behavior. Bring conviction, Bring
- 2:50Speaker 1: repentance and deep change. God, replace rage with humility and
- 2:54Speaker 1: cruelty with compassion. Lord, you are the God who heals
- 2:59Speaker 1: broken homes and resist wounded hearts. You are the God
- 3:02Speaker 1: who brings light into the darkest places. So today we
- 3:06Speaker 1: pray for safety where there's danger, peace where there's chaos,
- 3:10Speaker 1: healing where there's trauba, freedom where there's fear. Let every
- 3:13Speaker 1: person know they are loved, they are valued, they are
- 3:17Speaker 1: worthy of safety. Give them strength to seek help God,
- 3:20Speaker 1: courage to walk toward healing, and the hope that their
- 3:23Speaker 1: story is not over. God, wrap every hurting heart in
- 3:27Speaker 1: your protection, and let your peace reign where violence once lived.
- 3:31Speaker 1: In Jesus' name, Amen,
