- Heidi: Hello and welcome to another episode of the Raising Emotionally Intelligent Humans Podcast. I'm Heidi Lindemann, your host, a single mom by choice, a therapist, a lover of feelings, an IFS parts therapist. I work with parts all the time. Love them. And I tell stories. Stories about parenthood, about mothering, about kids, about emotions. And today I'm gonna tell a story that's not directly connected to parenting, but I'm sure it's connected in some way. But I just had this inspiration to tell this story because it made me laugh. literally out loud to myself in my house by myself. Okay. Okay, so There has been a lot happening in the last several weeks. We have gone through a couple of eclipses, solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse. I geek out on astrology and human design stuff, and I just freaking love it. In my astrology chart, the lunar eclipse that happened in Pisces on August 27th, 28th, was hitting my one of these houses. It was either hitting my fifth house in Pisces or my sixth house in Pisces. Depends on if you use the whole sign or Placidus in whole sign it's it's my sixth house in Pisces in Placidus it hits my fifth house in Pisces. There's just two different ways to look at it. I'm not gonna go into that. Go listen to an actual astrology podcast if you wanna understand more about that. Okay. But what i why this is s significant is Pisces is the things that are underground, the undercurrent, the things that are hidden, the background, the can be a very spiritual house. It can be the unconscious. It can be the mind. It can be the emotions. It can be the things that are like not fully tangible front of house scene. and it opposes Virgo, which is much more about the details, practicality, seeing things. It's very service oriented. It's more out front. I don't know. That's maybe not the best way to describe it, but that's the axis that this was happening on. Just for some info, my son is in Virgo in my twelfth house. I am a Libra rising. And as all Libra risings My house and the sign that it is is in is opposite. So there's always a duality with everything within my chart. If you don't understand any of that, that's okay. You can listen to some of the Charlie's podcasts to try to understand more of it. The whole point being there's some background, undercurrent, hidden, harder stuff to see that's been brought up in all of our lives. And for me, if it sits in the sixth house, so we're going with whole sign right here, the sixth house is the house of your daily rhythms, your the practical things you do, your mm the detail to details being very organized, being structured, putting things together, it's a Virgo house. Okay. So there's been all kinds of crazy, insane stuff happening in my personal relationships. I'm not gonna go into those stories because they are still very close and I wanna be respectful of the other people that these things have been happening with. But just as let's just say there's been a lot of emotions. I've gone through some confusion of like, what is happening here? What is going on between me and this person? and what Do I need to do? How do I stay True to what is authentic to me, what feels right, what my body is saying. My body would I'd have like tension and tightness in certain conversations. I'm like, that feels really bad. And then I'd have other moments I'm like, I feel really soft and open and that feels really good. And I'm learning how can I actually trust what my body is telling me. That's part of what I'm learning right now. And this has come up in many different ways with in different conversations and certain things that have been happening in my life. I know that's a little vague. But if you can get the overarching theme here. Okay. So this morning, my kiddo didn't have school until she had a late start, so she didn't start school until 10.55. She normally starts school at 8.25. So I drop her off and then I come home to eat lunch. And I'm eating lunch and looking at the carpet. This big, huge square rug carpet. There it's kind of got some red in it and some tan colors that kind of make some patterns and stuff in it. And I got the scarpet a long time ago when I moved into my house like a couple of years ago from my dad because our house has f full they're not wood floors, but they look like wood floors. Laminate, I guess they're laminate, downstairs. It's just like fully that. Which is looks really lovely, though the laminate floor. And I had discovered a long time ago. I do not have the structure to clean the floors well enough, frequently enough, that we can walk around without our shoes and socks on, which in our house I love to walk around without my shoes on, and not have our feet turned black. So our feet were literally getting so dirty just from running around on the floor. And I like, this feels gross. My solution then, put a carpet down. I don't Ever have to look at or deal with that stuff that's under that carpet. I'm just gonna pull out my little robot vacuum, let it run on top of the carpet, it'll pick up all the little crumbs. Good enough for me. Like that was my rhythm, that was my routine, that was my like this is how I clean. We pick up the floor and we make robot vacuum robot the floor. Particularly in the living, dining room, play area. And today, sitting down, eating my lunch, looking at that carpet, and I pull it back and I like I knew it was gonna gross. I pull it back, I'm like, wow, there is a lot of dirt under there. There is a lot hidden beneath the surface. So much of it. I have known that that dirt has been there for a long time. Like I knew it existed, but I paid no attention to it. I was like, I'm not dealing with that. I do not care about that. I have a great solution. I put a carpet over it. We can run around in the living room without our shoes on and our feet are not black. I also put a runner in the kitchen so that there's carpet in there. There's a runner in the front entryway, so there's carpet there. There's a couple of carpets in my bathroom, like bathroom rugs, so we have some carpet in there. I have a smaller rug in my office. I do mop my office area and my front entryway because I have clients who come in person. So that gets mopped almost weekly. Sometimes I don't do it every week, so it's sometimes every other week. But it gets mopped so that floor actually stays cleaner and doesn't gather dust. The amount of dust under that carpet in the living room was insane. Like I'm actually gonna try, hopefully I can figure this out or actually have my virtual assistant put a picture of the carpet of the underground hidden stuff right now. Hopefully if you're watching this on YouTube, you can see that picture. If you're not watching it on YouTube and you're just listening to this, just imagine like a thin layer of dirt, like outside kind of dirt that's just all on the floor, all over the floor. Carpets pulled back. And then there's these two areas on the side that look cleaner because they have been mopped, at least somewhat recently. There's all my hidden stuff underneath this carpet. And when I pulled it back and I put the vacuum on top of it, I laughed out loud at myself because today I decided it was the day to pull back the carpet and I'm and to actually sweep it. And I was like, my god, this is hilarious to me. The fact that this lunar eclipse happened last week and we're on Wednesday now. September second. So, you know, it was one, two, three, four, five, six days ago, five to six days ago. And now's the time that I'm gonna go ahead and swoop underneath my carpet, which totally aligns with the like get into some kind of routines or your daily routines, what you're doing with your daily life, the Virgo thing that is the sixth house, and the hidden Pisces lunar eclipse. And I just think it's so hilarious because of all of the stuff happening in my relational life with per certain people and things that have been coming up and been uncovered and that I'm setting new boundaries and different boundaries with and learning how to stand in my own much stronger to stand in the like, here's what feels really good to my body and really bad to my body and here's what I will here's how I'm going to be react or respond really to certain things. And so in s trying to get out of the reaction and get more towards the responding and be more intentional about how I interact with certain people in my life. And I had this other thought because my youngest is going to turn three in a couple of days. And her birthday party is this weekend. And that is actually why I was cleaning. I was picking up the floor and doing some other stuff this morning with my older kiddo who had a late start. So we were just trying to get stuff more picked up so we can have cleaners who are coming on Friday to actually clean our house. And Of all of the things that I could do, under the carpet, nobody is gonna look at. Nobody is gonna be like, my gosh, under Heidi's carpet is so dirty and they are gonna care a lot about it. But it is significant to me because I have never wanted to sweep that ever. And today I pulled that carpet up. The vacuum couldn't get it, so I swept it. And then I moved the table to the other side and I pulled Pulled the other side of the carpet up and I swept that too. And I threw away the dust, the dirt that has been hidden. For years. And I am so hoping that that is partly what I'm doing in my life too. That I am sweeping away that dirt, that dust, that stuff that does not need to be there anymore. That doesn't need to be a like a almost like a hidden, dirty, dark blah. It doesn't need to be that anymore. I can actually have it clean, be more clean in my underground, hidden, subconscious, unconscious. spiritual world that Pisces is. and just because it made me laugh, how loud I laughed. I was like, I have got to share this story. So hopefully this has been helpful for somebody or you just got a laugh out of that too. I don't know. Maybe there's something that you have also been noticing in your life that you then see in a tangible way that you're like, Whoa, that's so funny that this intangible, untangible, mysterious underground, undercurrent hidden thing all of a sudden becomes so clear in a tangible way. so that happens in life too. And I'm sure that that is gonna help impact me as a mom in some way. Like having a cleaner undercarpet floor. I don't know how. I also love feng shui. And sweeping is a really great thing to do in feng shui. So that was like because I got the desire to sweep right then I'm actually kind of curious to see what might happen. I listened to Amanda Gibby Peter's house therapy feng shui and she says all of the time feng shui is not transactional. So I'm actually not expecting something like, yay, I swept underneath my carpet and now something great is gonna happen. And because I felt in a this is I want to respond to this. I want to actually sweep the floor. It doesn't feel hard, it didn't feel like it was gonna put me out. She's like, No, I actually should really want to sweep the floor and throw away this dust that has been hidden under my carpet. I'm just genuinely curious what might happen. I have no idea. Nothing might happen or something might happen. There might be some shift in my life because I cleared out some of the underground stuff. I don't know. We'll see. Yeah. Anyway, so that is my little tidbit of astrology feng shui. I threw in a little human design there about responding. I'm a manifesting generator so I respond to things. That is a actual thing that r literally happened in my house today. Alright, well, if you found this helpful, I would love for you to share with with somebody else. if you can subscribe, like, whatever it is that you're doing on whatever platform you're on, that does help podcasts get out to other people. Five star reviews really help. if you have No. I was gonna ask you, say if you have something that you would want me to talk about, go ahead and tell me. But really, I just like telling stories of my own life. So I don't think you can actually tell me something. To then have me respond to. I don't know, maybe you could. Who knows? I'm kind of in experimental phase right now. We'll see. Anyway, I just want you to know that I am sending blessings your way and that I hope something magical, something unexpected in a good way happens for you. Until next time, may you be well.
