Latest / Worldview Matters With David Fiorazo / J.B. Hixson: Looking Up & Setting Our Hearts on Things Above
Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:19Hello, friends, family and Christ, we're excited to bring back JB Hixson, one of our favorite
- 0:25guests here, coming up in a few minutes.
- 0:26But I've got to just mention something.
- 0:28We're in fundraising season and we can use your prayers and support as always.
- 0:32It's really astounding to me that we've entered our third year of producing World View Matters
- 0:37and we're really amazed at how it's taken off, praise God for that.
- 0:41But to continue speaking the truth and exposing evil and talking about Bible prophecy and
- 0:47all the things that are important, we do depend on your prayers and generous support.
- 0:52And so right now, we're running a new campaign for the fall and for supporters to consider
- 0:57a tax deductible gift of $200 or becoming a monthly supporter at $25 and as a token of
- 1:04our appreciation.
- 1:06Look at what we have here.
- 1:07We're going to send you this brand new, I love this, stainless steel mug.
- 1:12It says, keep speaking the truth about things that matter and of course, World View Matters
- 1:17on the other side and these are sweet.
- 1:20So please visit worldviewmatters.tv if you're able to give.
- 1:25Thanks so much for your prayers either way and your support.
- 1:28So JB Hicks and Pastor JB, he's with not by works ministries and BW ministries and what
- 1:36we love his perspective and we're going to get away from some of the noise and all the
- 1:42stuff that's a little heavy going on in our culture and around the world, Middle East,
- 1:48everything else today.
- 1:49And I just want to get into some encouraging scripture and JB's commentary.
- 1:54Brother, so good to see you again.
- 1:56Thanks for your time.
- 1:57Oh, my pleasure, David, always great to be with you.
- 2:00You're one of the best and yeah, I mean, there's so much going on in the world and you've
- 2:05got excellent guests that talk about their areas of expertise.
- 2:10But I just thought it'd be good today to just sort of rise above some of that and just
- 2:14let the word of God speak to our hearts and just encourage the body out there, how to
- 2:19find peace in the midst of all of this chaos.
- 2:23I think we all need it.
- 2:25And before we do that, though, I want to get an update.
- 2:28I know you've been, this has been a very busy season, has it been conference season or
- 2:33what's going on?
- 2:34I know you've spoken out a lot of conferences, you've put a lot of miles on your vehicle
- 2:38because you drive to most of your events, don't you?
- 2:41We do, yeah, we've done more flying this year than we have in the past because we've
- 2:45had some trips to different places like Alaska and Hawaii and we had a couple of times where
- 2:51we had to fly to the East Coast just because of timing.
- 2:55But yeah, we generally drive and yeah, it's been a very wonderful year, very edifying,
- 3:01very fruitful in the sense of getting the gospel out and just really excited about that.
- 3:07We're in a bit of a sort of a reprieve here.
- 3:10We don't have anything on the road in November, thankfully.
- 3:13And that's why it's not going to spend some time with family, but we have another conference
- 3:18in December and then 26, David is already filling up, but yeah, you know, God is good.
- 3:24Plum Creek Chapel, our home church is really moving forward.
- 3:29We're seeing some great ministry there on Sundays and just thankful to be doing what
- 3:35we're doing.
- 3:36Of course, our passion, as you know, is the clarity, accuracy and urgency of the gospel.
- 3:40And even though I'm also passionate about current events, geopolitics, the Luciferian
- 3:47conspiracy and some of those things that are happening to set the stage for the coming
- 3:51one-world system, you know, my real heartbeat is to get the gospel out and remind people
- 3:57that only through a relationship with Jesus Christ can they have any hope of heaven.
- 4:02By the way, thank you for mentioning always going back to the gospel.
- 4:06On your website, I love this.
- 4:08I don't remember it being on the homepage though.
- 4:11Tell us about the rapture kit.
- 4:13I think you've got that, the link to it right on your homepage toward the bottom there.
- 4:18Tell us about that.
- 4:19I love that.
- 4:20I love that.
- 4:21So thanks for letting me pitch that for just a second here.
- 4:24So that's something there.
- 4:25There are a lot of this type of thing out there.
- 4:27A lot of ministries do it, you know, really well, but ours is a little unique.
- 4:30It's something we prayed about for over a year that the Lord put on my heart to really,
- 4:35you know, put this together and we were very intentional about what is in it.
- 4:39But the rapture kit is basically a small, almost like book sized, maybe two inches thick box.
- 4:46On the cover, it says, if millions of people suddenly disappeared, open immediately.
- 4:51And it is, you put that in a prominent spot in your four year or your house and after the rapture,
- 4:58then when folks who are left behind, which of course means they weren't Christians,
- 5:02they didn't know the Lord come in.
- 5:04And they'll be drawn to that and they're going to go, well, yeah, as a matter of fact,
- 5:07millions of people did disappear.
- 5:08I'm curious.
- 5:09Let me open it.
- 5:10And then when they open it, really the Holy Spirit takes it from there.
- 5:13We've got a Bible in there, brand new Bible, still in the packaging, we've got a cover
- 5:17letter where I kind of explain the contents and encourage them what to watch first.
- 5:22It's got a thumb drive with some videos, including the first one is an eight minute video
- 5:26where I talked directly to those left behind.
- 5:29It's got my video one minute after the rapture.
- 5:32It's got gospel tracks, it's got my book, The Gospel Unplugged.
- 5:36So just how plenty of resources to help somebody come to faith who was left behind.
- 5:42And then it's got the tracks and the idea is if they get to, if they come to know the Lord
- 5:47by faith, we encourage them to share the gospel with others.
- 5:50And then I also include my prepared this guide in there so that they'll have some practical
- 5:55advice and instruction on how to avoid the, the reign of the Antichrist and to be able
- 6:00to hide out and live below the radar and hopefully not be martyred and come out the end
- 6:06of the seven years when Christ comes back.
- 6:08So anyway, yeah, that's what the rapture kit is and those are available at notmyworks.org.
- 6:14Awesome.
- 6:15Thank you for that.
- 6:16It's so important and we don't think about that.
- 6:20And I know a lot of Christians just put so much focus on, I'm out of here, but what happens?
- 6:25Do we really care about the people that are going to be left behind?
- 6:29So what was I going to, oh yeah, your book, I want to just mention the great last day's
- 6:33apostasy.
- 6:34That's your recent one.
- 6:35Are you working on anything new, JB?
- 6:38I am.
- 6:40So the great last day's apostasy came out in February.
- 6:42I'll be speaking about it one more time in December at the pre-trib conference in Dallas,
- 6:47which is has a great lineup of speakers, by the way, Andy Woods, Tommy Eis, Tom Hughes,
- 6:54many of the guests that you have had on Bill Cainig, Max Locato will be there.
- 7:01But anyway, that's in December.
- 7:03But my new book is a little bit of a departure from some of the overt Bible prophecy themes
- 7:08that I've done in the last few years and going back to more basic Bible and theology.
- 7:14And the working title is Life Under the Sun, Finding Meaning in the Meaningless World.
- 7:19And I'm going to take some of the truths that I've been teaching through from ecclesiastes
- 7:24and work them into this book that's just been so encouraging to me.
- 7:30So target time for that is the spring of next year.
- 7:33But we'll have more to say about that as time goes on.
- 7:35Sounds good.
- 7:36And we'll have you to talk about it, Lord willing, if we're all still here.
- 7:40So JB, we're going to focus on setting our hearts and minds on what's really important.
- 7:46And that, of course, is Jesus.
- 7:48And people, I want to just let you in on a behind the scenes moment here between JB and
- 7:54I, talking about what to just share today.
- 7:59Today on social media, now we recorded this couple days in advance, but today on social
- 8:02media, I posted Colossians three, one through four.
- 8:06That was one of JB's scriptures that he sent me, one on the list that he wanted to talk
- 8:10about as just to encourage you.
- 8:13But I want to read this and I'll just let you get going, JB, therefore if you've been
- 8:19raised up with Christ, keep seeking things above where Christ is seated at the right hand
- 8:27of God, set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth.
- 8:33For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
- 8:39When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in
- 8:45glory.
- 8:47Colossians three, one through four, I can't think of, well, there's so many scriptures
- 8:52that are encouraging me.
- 8:53That's a good way to kick off this topic, JB, go ahead and share whatever you like from
- 8:57here.
- 8:58Yeah.
- 8:59Great verse.
- 9:00And it just shows that great minds think alike, right, David?
- 9:02I mean, we were on the same wavelength today.
- 9:05And it is funny how often the Lord does it.
- 9:07I'm sure you've experienced that a lot with your guests through the years where it just
- 9:11it seems like the Lord puts something similar on each other's hearts.
- 9:14But yeah, so certainly we need to compare scripture with scripture.
- 9:19And that verse is not implying that we should care nothing about the things of this world.
- 9:24And other passages like Matthew 16, of course, tell us to watch for the signs of the times
- 9:29and be aware of what's happening.
- 9:31We're here for a reason that we have a purpose on this earth in the present church age.
- 9:36But at the same time, we need to look up.
- 9:38I love the words of King David in Psalm 5 when he says, my voice, you shall hear in the
- 9:43morning, O Lord, in the morning, I will direct it to you and I will look up.
- 9:49And what's interesting, David, is on the seconder side of things, we're seeing a lot of attention
- 9:54focused into the heavenlies, right?
- 9:56We've got space for us.
- 9:58We've got private space travel.
- 10:00We've got the burgeoning UFO reality.
- 10:04We've got comets and asteroids.
- 10:06And it's just a lot of satellites with Elon Musk and there's a lot of attention focused
- 10:12heavenward, which I believe, by the way, is a sign of the times preparing us for what's
- 10:16going to happen.
- 10:17But as believers, we have another reason to look up.
- 10:21And that is because the trumpet's going to sound one day and we're going to meet the
- 10:25Lord where in the air.
- 10:27And it reminds me of Jesus, this is sort of metaphorical, but it just came to my mind
- 10:34as I was thinking about this today.
- 10:36Jesus interaction with the blind man in Mark 8 and the text says in verse 25, then Jesus
- 10:44put his hands on his eyes again and made him look up.
- 10:48Only if we would just look up more because, as Paul said, our citizenship really is in
- 10:55heaven, from which we eagerly await the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Philippians 320.
- 11:01So we really are just passing through, we're sojourners and strangers.
- 11:07As the passage that you quoted says, Jesus is in heaven right now.
- 11:12Now he's coming back, obviously, to inaugurate his kingdom and we'll be coming back with him
- 11:17at the end of the tribulation.
- 11:18But right now, as we read in Psalm 110, he is sitting at the right hand of the Lord.
- 11:26That's where Christ is.
- 11:27And we're there with him, essentially, yeah, we're here physically in our bodies.
- 11:32We have, again, a purpose, the great commission.
- 11:35But ultimately, when you place your faith in Jesus Christ, trusting in Him and Him alone
- 11:39as the only one who paid your personal sin debt and rose again, when you trust in Christ
- 11:45in that instant, you become part of the family of God.
- 11:48And now your citizenship is in heaven.
- 11:53And so I think, you know, as we've been talking a lot at Plum Creek Chapel in our study
- 11:57of Ecclesiastes, we live under the sun, yes.
- 12:02But under the sun, it's all vanity.
- 12:04There's nothing under the sun that can bring meaning and purpose.
- 12:08We've got to rise above the sun and look at things through a biblical perspective.
- 12:12That's right.
- 12:13I know the song, I don't remember which one this is when you were talking about, you
- 12:17know, everybody looking up in the stars and everything, satellites and all that.
- 12:21There's a phrase, a phrase of scripture that says, the sun to rule by day, the moon in
- 12:26the stars to rule by night is mercy and doers forever.
- 12:30And God made the great lights.
- 12:32And when we look up, how can you not think of God?
- 12:36And just it really is amazing, as it says in Romans, one men are without excuse.
- 12:41You look at creation.
- 12:42I don't know, JB, I'm glad I don't truly understand an atheist or someone who can look
- 12:48at the majesty around the world in nature, in nature and creation and not think there
- 12:54was a designer, a creator.
- 12:57I don't know what that's like, but we've got to get the gospel to these people, don't
- 13:03we?
- 13:04Yeah.
- 13:05Absolutely.
- 13:06I mean, the heavens declare the glory of God and again, back to our theme of looking
- 13:09up.
- 13:10Most people today are looking down, right?
- 13:12Looking at their phones, looking at their devices, looking at, you know, their bank accounts,
- 13:16looking at their portfolios, whatever it might be.
- 13:20And we need to look up.
- 13:22I love this verse in Ephesians chapter two, verses four to six, listen to this.
- 13:28But God who is rich and mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, even
- 13:33when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you
- 13:39have been saved and noticed and raised us up together and made us sit together in the
- 13:45heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
- 13:47So, we've already talked about, as you've quoted and I've quoted, Christ is sitting at
- 13:52the right hand of the throne of God in heaven, waiting for that trumpet to sound and God says,
- 13:56go get them, you know.
- 13:58But in the meantime, spiritually speaking, that's where we are.
- 14:02I mean, spiritually speaking, our home is in heaven.
- 14:06And right now, as we live out our days in this, in the flesh, in this, you know, flesh
- 14:12and blood, reality of time, space and matter, we're doing so with a unique purpose.
- 14:17And that is we are spiritually alive and we are calling people to be made spiritually
- 14:22alive by faith alone in Christ alone.
- 14:25So there's some other scriptures you sent me in and, you know, this is the short list
- 14:29because there are so many, so much encouragement.
- 14:31I think of the one you also referred to earlier, some of the most encouraging words are
- 14:36second Corinthians or second Thessalonians, chapter four.
- 14:40The very last phrase is, therefore comfort one another with these words.
- 14:45And so we are to comfort just the thought of being with Jesus forever.
- 14:49Therefore, you will always be with the Lord, comfort one another with these words.
- 14:54Yeah, first Thess 4, 16 to 18 there, yeah, I mean, it's, again, we are, we're going to
- 15:00rise up someday, right, at the rapture, we know that it could happen at any moment.
- 15:05It could happen before we finish recording this, this podcast, but, but certainly that's
- 15:12a comfort to us.
- 15:13And especially these days when there's so much heartache and trouble, and I don't mean
- 15:19to sound pessimistic, but let's face it.
- 15:21I mean, we've got the coming digital ID, we've got, you know, we're sabre rattling and
- 15:26wars and rumors of wars, we've got the earthquakes like never before, we've got strange things
- 15:32happening in the geopolitical realm, even in the political realm.
- 15:34You and I were talking a little bit before we started recording.
- 15:37I mean, it's, it's hard to know, you know, who's who anymore?
- 15:41Because, you know, sometimes Republicans will do things that we're not excited about.
- 15:46Sometimes Democrats will actually have a voice of reason.
- 15:48It's rare, but occasionally they do.
- 15:51And so, you know, it's hard to know who's with you and who's not anymore.
- 15:55Politics makes strange bedfellows sometimes, but, but yeah, that's why, you know, we've
- 16:00got to navigate all of this through the lens of scripture and we certainly don't want
- 16:03to throw up our hands and give up because that's not what we're called to do.
- 16:08But at the same time, from a personal spiritual edification perspective, it can be so helpful
- 16:14to do what David did and just look up from time to time.
- 16:18By the way, Jesus told the disciples that in John 14 and talk about a time of trouble,
- 16:25they were about to get into, I mean, Christ was going to be crucified in a matter of days.
- 16:29You know, they're, they're, they're, they're leader, they're master, they're savior.
- 16:34And he says, let not your heart be troubled.
- 16:36You believe in God will leave also in me.
- 16:38And then what does he say next?
- 16:39He immediately calls their attention heavenward in my father's house or many mansions.
- 16:44If it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you.
- 16:46And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself
- 16:51that where I am there.
- 16:52You may be also.
- 16:53So it's helpful to rise above the clouds and think about the Lord.
- 16:59Something you said made me think about when someone that is maybe not a believer, preciates
- 17:08the gospel.
- 17:09I think of first, first, I'm going backwards.
- 17:12It's chapter one, not first, anything, Philippians chapter one, verse 18.
- 17:17And I want you to provide some context for my understanding, but also for the audience,
- 17:22the viewers and listeners, JB, they were talking about people preaching the gospel with
- 17:26the wrong motives.
- 17:27And verse 18 says, what then Paul writes, only that in every way, whether in pretense
- 17:32or in truth, Christ is proclaimed and in this, I rejoice.
- 17:38Can you share some context behind that?
- 17:40Yeah, I would love to.
- 17:41In fact, I quoted that verse just recently in a conversation with someone.
- 17:45So once again, kind of on the same wavelength there.
- 17:50You know, I might have a slightly different take on, for example, the memorial service for
- 17:56the late Charlie Kirk, where I see more of a political tint to that than a spiritual
- 18:01tint.
- 18:02But clearly, God used that and at times the gospel went forth.
- 18:07And many people have been saved as a result of that.
- 18:10It's not the way I would do it in person.
- 18:14But God can hit a home run with a crooked stick, amen?
- 18:17And there have been a lot of times in my 40 year journey of ministry where I've not been
- 18:22particularly clear or accurate about my articulation of the gospel.
- 18:27And yet, somehow the Spirit of God takes it and he uses it to convict the world of
- 18:31sin, righteousness and judgment.
- 18:33So it doesn't, Philippians 118 isn't, you know, an excuse to just any old gospel will
- 18:40do.
- 18:41Just get out there, whatever you're motive, you know, that's not it.
- 18:44Paul is just rightly pointing out as he does elsewhere that it's, that the gospel is
- 18:50the power of God to salvation and that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of
- 18:55God, Romans 116 and Romans 10 and 17.
- 18:57So therefore, even if the people preaching it have an ulterior motive, praise God, the
- 19:03Spirit can, can hit a home run with a crooked stick.
- 19:06And that's, I love that, you know, God can hit a home run with a crooked stick.
- 19:11I think of Isaiah 55, God's word will not return to Him void is, did I get the address
- 19:17right?
- 19:18Yeah, I think it's Isaiah 55, what, eight or something like that.
- 19:21Eight through 11 talks about as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not
- 19:25return there but water the earth and social my word be that proceeds from my mouth will
- 19:30not return to me void.
- 19:31I just paraphrased, but so we can be confident when we hear the word of God.
- 19:38And I wasn't going to go here, JB, but I have to because you're a pastor, you do a lot
- 19:41of traveling.
- 19:42Unfortunately, in a lot of churches today, people are not going to hear the clear concise
- 19:48gospel.
- 19:49They're not going to hear the whole council of God.
- 19:52Now I want you to speak to this, Bible sales are off the charts, there's Christian music.
- 19:58I mean, the Charlie Kirk Memorial Service had an impact, even Chris Tomlin said he was amazed
- 20:04at the spirit there.
- 20:05And now youth, more youth are seemingly open to truth seeking going to church.
- 20:10All these young kids put in tick to I'm going to church for the first time or I'm going
- 20:14back to church.
- 20:15Here's the prop.
- 20:16That's a good thing, right?
- 20:17That's a good thing.
- 20:18The Holy Spirit's moving, but here's the problem.
- 20:19What church are they going to go to?
- 20:22What thoughts on that, JB?
- 20:23Yeah, I mean, obviously discernment is a big problem in the church today.
- 20:28I talk about that in my book, The Great Last Days of Postercy.
- 20:31It's a sign of the times.
- 20:33So we have to nuance the seasons of revival and the pockets of revival that are happening
- 20:40because the Spirit of God is alive and well with the reality that unfortunately many people
- 20:46will get saved and then be caught up in this tide of deception and be caught up in things
- 20:51like gnar and Christian nationalism and dominionism and some of these false teachings.
- 20:57I know you've had Holly Pivicon before talking about this.
- 21:00And so that's why we need to remnant.
- 21:04That's why we need people like you and ministries like yours and ours to try to sound the alarm
- 21:10and give believers, especially young believers, the opportunity and the resources they need
- 21:16to grow in the faith.
- 21:17But yeah, I mean, the thank the great news is it only takes the faith of a mustard seed
- 21:24to be saved, right?
- 21:25The gospel is so simple, the child can understand it, Christ died for sins and rose from the dead.
- 21:31A perfect example of that, you know, we do a recurring segment every week which we've
- 21:35done now for about a year called Testimony Tuesdays and we had one just recently.
- 21:39I'm not even sure if it's aired yet, but I love these interviews because you just get
- 21:42to hear people's journey and their testimony and we'd love to get you on one of those
- 21:46someday.
- 21:47But this person got saved, believe it or not, at a Catholic charismatic meeting.
- 21:53And he said, you know, I don't understand it.
- 21:55And he said, I now know back years later and I've grown in the faith and I understood
- 22:00the errors of Roman Catholicism and all this.
- 22:03But he said, I can tell you this, this priest that stood up, they gave a clear gospel reading
- 22:07from the gospel of John chapter three and the spirit used it in that moment to lead
- 22:12in your faith.
- 22:13So I, you know, I'm glad for that, I'm thankful for that, but it doesn't necessarily mean
- 22:18we don't fight for clarity, accuracy, and urgent.
- 22:22So what are your thoughts on the Bible sales?
- 22:25I don't remember the number, but it is astronomical since in the last month or so, people are
- 22:33going to need someone to teach or explain them or walk them through the Bible because
- 22:38on their own, and especially if they don't have the Holy Spirit, if they're not saved,
- 22:43they can pick up a Bible and they can read it and think it's history or whatever.
- 22:47What are your thoughts on that JB?
- 22:48So a couple of thoughts.
- 22:49So first of all, it's interesting that every time there's a major event, a major sort
- 22:54of, you know, unfreezing, earth changing event, and I would put the Charlie Kirk assassination
- 23:00in that category.
- 23:01And it was big news, it was horrific, it was tragic.
- 23:05And I think it draws people into a sense of spiritual mindset.
- 23:10They think about eternity, they think about, you know, spiritual matters.
- 23:15And so we saw that after 9-11, we saw that at, you know, COVID, we see that at different
- 23:20points.
- 23:21And so that's good.
- 23:22And you know, I think that's probably a big reason why we're seeing a Bible sales off
- 23:26the charts.
- 23:27Now, obviously, as I said earlier, the word says it's that the word of God is quick and
- 23:31powerful, sharper than a two-inch, it sort of faith comes by hearing hearing by the word
- 23:35of God.
- 23:36So even if an unbeliever reads the word of God, I think, and we've had countless examples
- 23:41of this, of just reading a Bible, people obviously come to faith, that's the best way to do
- 23:45it.
- 23:46Nobody says the gospel better than God himself.
- 23:48And so, you know, we love when people read the Bible that are unbelievers.
- 23:54But you're right, that, you know, the God in this present church age has set aside pastors
- 23:59and teachers.
- 24:00It's a divine office or divinely instituted office where he uses that to help people grow
- 24:07in the faith.
- 24:08And so this goes back to what you said about the need for good, solid Bible teaching churches.
- 24:16But yeah, the gospel can absolutely is big enough and bold enough and living an active
- 24:22enough to bring people to faith.
- 24:23And so I love it.
- 24:24I think it's fantastic that Bible sales are off the charts.
- 24:28And in fact, at NBW, we recently launched a deal.
- 24:31This will be actually the first time I've mentioned it.
- 24:34But the Lord put this on my heart also about a year ago and we're just now doing it.
- 24:40And it's a risk financially, but we just want to get the Bible out there.
- 24:43So we now offer for free on our website, Bibles.
- 24:47And we ask people to show discernment, but if you know someone that needs a Bible, you
- 24:52can put it in your cart and there's no cost, no shipping, we'll send it to you.
- 24:56And we're praying that people won't take advantage of that and it won't send us to the
- 24:59poor house.
- 25:00If it gets to be a problem, we may have to discontinue it.
- 25:03But that's how much we believe in the power and the authority of God's Word.
- 25:05If you know someone needs a Bible or you need a Bible, we'll give you one for free.
- 25:09Amen.
- 25:10The Word is alive and active in sharper than a two-edged sword in the gospel.
- 25:14Yeah.
- 25:15It's very clear when we don't mess it up.
- 25:18JB, two minutes left and I want to just quote Luke 21, 28, and ask you about signs.
- 25:24Some people get wrapped up looking for signs and then looking at signs that might not even
- 25:28imply anything.
- 25:29But like today, what we're seeing around the world, now when these things begin to happen,
- 25:34Jesus said, look up and lift up your heads because your redemption draws near.
- 25:40Close us out with your thoughts on this.
- 25:42Yeah.
- 25:43Anyone is Luke's account of the Olivet Discourse that's paralleled in Mark 13 and specifically
- 25:50in Matthew 24 and 25, the biggest treatment of it.
- 25:53I believe that's all speaking about the future tribulation period, Daniel 70th week, and
- 25:58the return of Christ.
- 25:59And so Jesus is speaking there to the Jews.
- 26:02When you see all these signs that are happening, the seal judgments and all these things that
- 26:06he discusses, then you know my return is near.
- 26:09But elsewhere, there are parallel passages that use similar language for the church and
- 26:14the rapture.
- 26:15And so that's why I included it because again, it's this idea of look up, look up, lift
- 26:20up your heads.
- 26:21And I think we need to do that.
- 26:22So again, Matthew 16, he says, you know, be careful that you watch for the signs of
- 26:27the times.
- 26:28And so there are a lot of things happening that clearly foretell of, you know, end times
- 26:35prophecies being fulfilled.
- 26:37It doesn't mean the rapture is going to happen tomorrow.
- 26:39And obviously we don't want to set dates.
- 26:41But I mean, you'd have to be living in a cave not to have a sense of excitement and enthusiasm
- 26:46that we're getting ever so close.
- 26:48Amen, brother.
- 26:49Thank you.
- 26:50Great perspective today.
- 26:51Just encouraging people, first to get in the word.
- 26:54And sadly, we have to say we cannot depend on our pastors in American churches.
- 27:02If you go to a great church where your pastor is teaching the whole council of God, understands
- 27:06Bible prophecy and sound doctrine, and that's great.
- 27:10But unfortunately, we have a big problem in that area.
- 27:12So be good, Bereans, friends.
- 27:15Study the word on your own.
- 27:16And JB's website again, notbyworks.org, not by works, brother.
- 27:21Thank you.
- 27:22Goes by fast.
- 27:23We'll do this again in the near future.
- 27:25Appreciate your time.
- 27:26Amen.
- 27:27My pleasure.
- 27:28Always an honor.
- 27:29Thanks, JB.
- 27:30Friends, thank you again for your prayers and support.
- 27:33God bless you.
- 27:34Always, you know what to do.
- 27:37Keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
