- 0:00Let's just say silver will hit, you know, 34 at some point this
- 0:03year. I mean it's going to start to
- 0:04get really popular. But you know, from all the
- 0:07research that you know you've done and you know the technical
- 0:10work that I've done, we know that, you know, it could go to
- 0:13if it breaks 34, it could go to 50 and when it gets back up, you
- 0:17know, it could go to 100. The price of silver and gold are
- 0:23on a real tear. Gold heading into new all time
- 0:27high territory, What about silver?
- 0:29Could it soon follow? Today we have a special guest,
- 0:34Jordan Roy Byrne from the Daily Gold Podcast.
- 0:38He's one of the smartest minds in the room and he's agreed to
- 0:42join us today to give his perspective on what's going on
- 0:45in the precious metals markets. Jordan, welcome to Ron's
- 0:48Basement. Hey, Ron, thanks so much for
- 0:51having me. It's a pleasure to be on with
- 0:53you today. Yeah, and what a great day,
- 0:55Jordan, that we have, right? I think we were talking before
- 0:58we went live silver up almost $0.75 to, oh, almost $27.00 gold
- 1:06on the spot market pushing up near 3000.
- 1:09I'm sorry, 2300, wishful thinking there, but what's your
- 1:14general feeling about what's happening right now in the
- 1:16silver and gold markets? Well, I think it just today and
- 1:21yesterday I I think we're starting to see, I mean I
- 1:24haven't looked at gold silver ratio charts in the last couple
- 1:27days, but I think we're starting to see silver take a little bit
- 1:33of the leadership away from gold.
- 1:35And I did it. I think I posted an article or a
- 1:37video. I mean, I can't remember in the
- 1:39last couple weeks and I was looking at, OK, after gold
- 1:42breaks out, then at what point does silver tend to take the
- 1:46baton and actually lead gold? And so historically, I think
- 1:49there's been six or seven gold breakouts.
- 1:51And no matter how you measure them and you know it, it can be
- 1:56like a couple months after gold breakouts.
- 1:58In some cases, it took, you know, 7-8 months for silver to
- 2:02then really start out performing gold at the gold stocks.
- 2:05Actually, they tend to start out performing gold right away after
- 2:09that breakout. But silver, you tend to need a
- 2:11little more time and it's really interesting.
- 2:14I mean gold has a big breakout and then silver has a big
- 2:17breakout. So silver had its own breakout
- 2:20after gold breakouts. And so I was talking about this
- 2:23a couple weeks ago and then said, OK, well we're lining up,
- 2:25you know silver 26, that's that's the key breakout level.
- 2:29You know, it can also be 28. I mean it's because there's
- 2:31there's resistance at 26 and then there's some resistance of
- 2:362829. So I mean depending on how you
- 2:38look at it, you could say well it's breaking out today or it
- 2:41has to break above 28 or 29. But all that aside, what people
- 2:45need to know is that it looks like we're, you know, if it
- 2:48hasn't already started in the last day or two, we're looking
- 2:51at a a point when silver could start to outperform gold and
- 2:56that's that's really exciting for the sector.
- 2:59Yeah. And you know when we talk about
- 3:02the the gold to silver ratio which got as high as 90
- 3:07recently, I mean and and and looking at historic charts
- 3:10that's really high. Do you subscribe to this line of
- 3:15thinking that I I heard someone describe the, the silver or gold
- 3:18to silver ratio almost like a like a rubber band or a or a
- 3:22bungee cord, right. It gets stretched and stretched
- 3:25and you know you can look at it over all types of, you know,
- 3:28historical data from anywhere from a year to 1000 years.
- 3:32But I think under most any time frame the the silver or gold to
- 3:37silver ratio had been stretched quite a bit that that stores up
- 3:41a lot of energy. And then we hear about and and I
- 3:44think maybe I heard you may be describing this as you were
- 3:47speaking like a slingshot move at some point and like you said
- 3:51maybe two to three months after gold moves.
- 3:56Yeah. And and what you're describing,
- 3:58you see that in many markets and also you you, you tend to see
- 4:01that quite a bit more often in commodity markets than stock
- 4:05markets where various commodities will spend a lot of
- 4:10time trading in a a range. I mean they we just saw it with
- 4:13gold in the last 3 1/2 years, which you know it built this
- 4:19handle on this, it was the handle on this gigantic cup and
- 4:22handle pattern. But yes, you can look at it's
- 4:24silver and silver even it can be range bound even more so than
- 4:31gold and other markets. So, so the the slingshot that
- 4:33type of move with what you're talking about you you tend you
- 4:37tend to really see that in silver even more so than the
- 4:39other commodities. And so with the gold, silver
- 4:42ratio, you're absolutely right because it can, I mean it can,
- 4:46it can trade at a high level for for a long period of time and
- 4:50then suddenly in a short period of time you can get that
- 4:54Slingshot move where silver is really, really outperforming.
- 4:58And and even just talking about silver in nominal terms, we see
- 5:02the same thing. And so we could, you know,
- 5:04looking at the chart, yes, there's, there's some resistance
- 5:06of 28, but there's really 26 is really the most significant
- 5:10resistance that's it's weekly, monthly and quarterly
- 5:14resistance, all those charts. So it's going to take some time
- 5:17for us to really confirm that silver has broken 26.
- 5:21I mean there's still time this month or this week where I
- 5:24could, you know it could correct and come back to 2600 do
- 5:29something like that. But you know, aside from that, I
- 5:32do think that I mean whether it's you know this week or this
- 5:36month or even next month, I do think silver is clearing 26 and
- 5:40so then silver has a measured upside target.
- 5:43It's not the best, I'd say it's not the highest probability
- 5:46target, but it is fairly high probability that 34 would be the
- 5:52next level. And again, so you have the
- 5:53resistance of 26 and there's some resistance of 2829, then
- 5:58you have 34 which is the next most significant resistance for
- 6:02silver. And so getting back to what you
- 6:04said, silver could move from 26 to 34, I mean you know nobody
- 6:10knows the future but that could you know that guy that maybe
- 6:13that happens in six months or eight months or four month five.
- 6:15I mean I don't know it could be something like that.
- 6:18But if you if you think about how quickly or you you think
- 6:20about it, that's very quick compared to what's happened the
- 6:23last few years in silver where I mean it's been stuck in the low
- 6:27you know mid 20s really for most of that move.
- 6:30So that that's what I I think just in you know delving into
- 6:34the big picture, that's what people have to understand.
- 6:36I mean, I know that charts and technicals can be very
- 6:38confusing, but we really could be entering into an era where
- 6:43both gold and silver, they're set up for really explosive
- 6:47moves like the the set up is there.
- 6:49And so that that is going to also include more volatility
- 6:53both going up and down. And so that it's really
- 6:56important for people to understand that that yes, we're
- 6:59at a point in history where over the next 3578 years we could see
- 7:04some really huge moves, but at the same time, you know you're
- 7:07not going to go straight up over 7 to 8 years.
- 7:09There will be, you know, some some downturns within that
- 7:12period. So, so but I have so many things
- 7:16now I want to ask you about you you you spoke about confirmation
- 7:21of Silver on the breakout and and help me because you know a
- 7:24lot more about this than I do and you'll probably be helping
- 7:27our viewer also in terms of Silver confirming this this move
- 7:33above 26, do we have to wait for the end of the week to say that
- 7:37it confirmed on a weekly basis and wait till the end of the
- 7:41month to say that it confirmed on a monthly basis?
- 7:44Is that is that how that works? Yeah, absolutely.
- 7:47That's absolutely how it works. And so that's the 1st.
- 7:50And so we're we're, you know we're we're at, we're speaking
- 7:52on April 3rd. So there's a long way to go for
- 7:54a month. But but yes, that's the first
- 7:58thing to watch for is just just see how Silver closes the week.
- 8:01If it can hold, care, hold, and, you know, just hold noticeably
- 8:05above 2600, that's the first confirmation that we're looking
- 8:08for. OK.
- 8:10Next question for you, Jordan, and thank you, 'cause I'm, I
- 8:13feel like I and I know our viewers are learning here as
- 8:15well. One thing that I've observed and
- 8:19and become a rather vocal vocal, you know vocally and visually
- 8:24showed to my viewers is like you said the silver price over the
- 8:29last number of years. And then especially let's say in
- 8:32the last year and three months that the price range that it was
- 8:36trading within really seemed to be compressed.
- 8:39And there was this wedge pattern that was formed and that we've
- 8:44broken out of this wedge. But maybe on a daily basis I
- 8:47guess at this point we can say we broke out of the wedge.
- 8:51But but we also looked at a big long term cup and handle
- 8:55formation and silver I think started in maybe was it 1980 at
- 9:00$50 and then 2011 at $50.00 that formed this big massive cup and
- 9:06then we have this handle in silver.
- 9:09Could we with, you know if we break out of this wedge pattern,
- 9:14could we be at a point where you know eventually silver could get
- 9:18a like a turbocharge. And I mean, what would it look
- 9:21like if Silver broke out of that cup and handle pattern?
- 9:25Yeah, a couple things on that. First of all, even though it
- 9:29looks like a cup and handle it, it's and I get we're getting
- 9:32really in the weeds. It's technically not a cup.
- 9:34It's technically not a cup and handle because the handle and
- 9:37silver retraced too much. Of of.
- 9:41The preceding move, like if you look at gold that was it was a
- 9:44very, you know the handle only retraced I think 38% of the
- 9:48preceding move. And so typically that's what you
- 9:51see in cup and handles and that's why gold was able to, I
- 9:54mean yes it took 3 1/2 years, but that's why gold was able you
- 9:58know to to have this explosive breakout where whereas for
- 10:01silver, silver moved up to 50. But if silver were in a cup and
- 10:05handle it it, I think it would have had to hold about 35 or
- 10:09something like that. So I know we're getting, I know
- 10:11we're getting real in the weeds because everyone's looking at
- 10:14it. They're saying this is a cup and
- 10:15handle and silver, so. Me, me, me, and Koval.
- 10:19Yes, but but here's here's the distinction.
- 10:21Because, you know, I love to get nuanced.
- 10:23I mean the distinction is technically it's not a cup and
- 10:26handle. However, at the same time, if
- 10:31and when silver, you know it breaks above 35, you can see it
- 10:34start to when it starts moving back towards 50, it's then it's
- 10:39still setting up for a really, really explosive move.
- 10:42So it's like it's like yes, the conclusion is right.
- 10:45Silver is in this spectacular pattern where it can have this
- 10:48incredible move when it breaks 50, but it's technically not a
- 10:52cup and handle. So you know, I don't, I don't
- 10:55know how we want to take but but yeah, I mean we're getting in
- 10:58the weeds but the the the big, if you think it's a cup and
- 11:00handle, you're still right on the big picture that yes, when
- 11:04silver is and again so looking at if you look at the quarterly
- 11:08charts or if you're looking at quarterly candles like 30-4,
- 11:12this is another reason why 30, you see this in tactical
- 11:14analysis a lot. So you know looking at that
- 11:16wedge you're talking about or the inverse head and shoulders
- 11:19on silver, you know there's a low of 18, you have this 26
- 11:22resistance, so you take that that measures up to 34.
- 11:25But when you're also looking at if you're looking at the
- 11:27quarterly chart and those candles going back to 1980, I
- 11:31mean you can see there's resistance you know 3334.
- 11:35So it's lining up with that target.
- 11:37So the the point is if if and when we get a quarterly close
- 11:42above 34 that is going to put us in really good position to rally
- 11:47up to 50 maybe even break that. But you know getting back to the
- 11:51the cup and handle this. This is a real spectacular base
- 11:57in silver and I've said that you know the SO gold's broken out
- 12:01from a 13 year cup and handle pattern silver again technically
- 12:05it's not a cup and handle but when silver starts approaching
- 12:0950 again, I mean I have said this is the biggest, the biggest
- 12:14base of all time in financial markets in my opinion.
- 12:18So in 10 to 20 years like these gold and silver path they will
- 12:23be in new technical analysis textbooks in the future.
- 12:27So silver again if this is the biggest base of all time, it
- 12:32could be the biggest breakout of all time.
- 12:33So and I talked with David Morgan about this and and I I
- 12:37do, I completely agree with him. And and you've seen this in
- 12:40other commodity markets like if you go back and you look at what
- 12:42happened 2004, 2005 when oil broke out from a huge base, when
- 12:48copper broke out from a huge, they moved like you know like
- 12:52that just really quickly or I don't know if I had my video
- 12:57right, but they they after those like commodity and you saw this
- 13:00in cocoa by the way which is similar.
- 13:03This is what happens in commodity markets when they
- 13:05break out of really, really long bases.
- 13:09They can have these moves where they go straight up.
- 13:11So whenever we see silver breaking about 50, it's
- 13:14probably, it's probably going to move towards 100 or at least 95.
- 13:19The measured upside target of that I think is 95.
- 13:23You're going to see silver move from 50 to 95.
- 13:27That's going to happen like really quickly like it might be
- 13:30in a year, it might be in four or six months.
- 13:32So that that's what we're, that's what we're heading
- 13:35towards I think in the future and.
- 13:38I'm flying you to Saint Louis when that happens because that's
- 13:42the that's the silver bear behind me who has a blind a
- 13:46blindfold on that says 85. And we're taking the blindfold
- 13:50off at $85 silver Jordan. And you know, I, I may, I may, I
- 13:54may come. Yeah, we'll see.
- 13:56What's? What's that?
- 13:57What's that movie? Meet Me in Saint Louis.
- 13:59Isn't that Pretty famous? Meet me in Saint Louis for the
- 14:02big on on on the I'm holding another bear.
- 14:05I will, I will, yeah. And and it's, you know, sorry to
- 14:09Babble on here, but then then you could get into, you know, I
- 14:12was talking about this earlier then you get the volatility on
- 14:15both sides. So I I ultimately I think silver
- 14:18is going even much, much higher than $100.00 an ounce.
- 14:22But you know we could get to 100 the next couple years and then
- 14:25you could have a downturn where you know it comes back to 65 or
- 14:2870. And so that's what people need
- 14:30to understand that yes, there's explosive upside, but you really
- 14:34like, this is a good time for people to really understand and
- 14:38learn their emotions and know, you know they can, they can
- 14:43sense and understand what is coming and then have a plan for
- 14:46that. So, so you don't make the wrong
- 14:48decision. When Silver goes to 100, you're
- 14:50like, Oh well, you know, holy shit, I'm going to, you know, I
- 14:53need to buy a lot more now. It's going to go to 500 in the
- 14:55next year. So people need to, you know,
- 14:58they need to mind their emotions and kind of plan ahead.
- 15:01That's all I'm trying to say. Yeah, yeah.
- 15:03It's interesting you say that Jordan, 'cause I I preach that
- 15:07to to my audience as well, that like you need to have a plan.
- 15:12Like it's fun to sit around and fantasize about, oh, silver's
- 15:15gonna go to the moon, silver, what if silver goes to you know?
- 15:19But but when it actually happens, because I've owned
- 15:23stocks that have done that before and been in that set
- 15:25where something sky it, it can become you, you can become you.
- 15:29It's easy to make very emotional decisions and bad decisions if
- 15:34you don't have somewhat of a plan in place to like, what am I
- 15:39going to do if Silver does skyrocket?
- 15:43But I was, I was. I know last time Silver went way
- 15:45up, David Morgan did a good job of calling the top.
- 15:48So maybe we can just listen to him.
- 15:50What what, what he has to say. If you're looking to buy gold,
- 15:53silver, or platinum, do yourself a favor and check out PIM Becks,
- 15:57the online precious metals bullion dealer and sponsor of
- 16:02Ron Space. I was a happy customer before
- 16:05they offered to support the channel.
- 16:07You'll find they have the best prices, quality, and service.
- 16:11I think Pembex is best and you will too.
- 16:15And be sure to tell him that you're from Ron's basement.
- 16:17There there were a lot of warning signs going into that.
- 16:19But I think, I think, you know shout out to him because I I
- 16:23remember listening to him on a podcast where he did call the
- 16:26top. Yeah, I mean I and I was
- 16:28thinking OK maybe silver will will only correct for like two
- 16:32or three years at that point. But I mean it you know it took,
- 16:34it took, it took a really long time.
- 16:38And so that's that's what people need to understand.
- 16:40You know it it like the, you know the the secular move as I'm
- 16:45saying or even just the move to 100, you know the move to 100
- 16:50that could be a top for two, two or three years.
- 16:53So that's what that's what people need to understand.
- 16:57I I want to ask you about this idea of overhead resistance and
- 17:01ask you to explain it a little more to me and also the the
- 17:04person who's joining us here for this, for this conversation.
- 17:08Because when we talk about silver, let's say rising once it
- 17:13gets to $34 per oz and then at that point sure you know silver
- 17:19has has you know had a couple times very short periods of time
- 17:23where it in 1980 and 2011 where it got up to 50.
- 17:27But there just aren't a lot of people out there I don't think
- 17:30who are holding silver that bought it at let's say 43 when
- 17:34the spot price was $43.00 an ounce who are patiently waiting
- 17:37for it to get to 43 to sell it. How does that idea play into
- 17:43that move for silver once it does get above those resistance
- 17:47levels? Yeah.
- 17:48Well, it's a great question and resistance is very important.
- 17:52I think people have to think about that as it's just supply
- 17:55and demand. Like when you're looking at
- 17:56support and resistance, it's just you're looking at it, it's
- 18:00supply and demand. So it's it's based on you know
- 18:05buyers and sellers, you know mostly in the futures market,
- 18:08you know they're buying and selling various contracts.
- 18:11And to get into the second part of your question, you know when
- 18:13you break above resistance that level then becomes support.
- 18:17So silver has broken above 26 and at some point it could go
- 18:23back to 26 just to retest. Now it doesn't always happen in
- 18:27commodity markets or in any market but that would be totally
- 18:32not, I mean silver could, it could move up to 2829 and people
- 18:35might OK, well it's going to go to 34 now then it could come
- 18:38back and retest 26. So you know I'm hope I'm
- 18:42answering the question but these, you know these resistance
- 18:46levels are levels in the past where there were more sellers
- 18:50than buyers like that's the way I think about it.
- 18:52So in 26 there have been more sellers than buyers over the
- 18:57last couple and that's why it's but it's taking so long and and
- 19:00you know so, so the buyers have been able to move it up to 26 so
- 19:03many times but then the sellers kept knocking it back down.
- 19:06But now that the buyers have gained control that 26 level is
- 19:10going to be support. So if silver comes back down to
- 19:13retest 26, the buyers are going to have the advantage, more
- 19:16buyers now are going to come in and also all those sellers who
- 19:21are selling it at 26, they now know there's also like a a
- 19:24psychological change in market like everybody knows OK 26 is
- 19:29broken. So we we now know that that is
- 19:32support and and so yes 34 so that's the next level.
- 19:36And so it's this is just simple stuff stuff.
- 19:40And so it helps us know that you know yes there's some resistance
- 19:44at 28 or 29. So that's a level where you know
- 19:47silver hits that maybe it'll do a little pull back from there.
- 19:50But we know at the same time OK 34 like that's the next 26 like
- 19:54that's going to be the next significant level.
- 19:57So that's how to think about support and resistance.
- 20:00It's just supply and demand. Yeah.
- 20:02And then I imagine once it breaks through the resistance,
- 20:05then you've got a number of people that are thinking, you
- 20:09know, right. Let's say silver goes to 34 and
- 20:12it does start to pull back a little bit.
- 20:15You've got a number of people who are thinking, boy, I missed
- 20:18the, you know, I I wish people who'd wished they'd bought it,
- 20:21let's say 29 or 28 that then if it as it pulls back, they'll
- 20:26they'll jump in as buyers. It seems like it's a it's a
- 20:29supply and demand dynamic and then with a little bit of
- 20:33psychology mixed in there as well.
- 20:35Is that does that? No, that that's that's
- 20:37incredibly important insight because that's what happens when
- 20:41the market, the market breaks above that level.
- 20:43But for the people that missed it, they're the ones who are
- 20:47buying when it pulls back. So again like if silver moves up
- 20:51to 2829 and you know the the people who missed that, you know
- 20:57some of those we'll be waiting for silver to come back to 26.
- 21:01And again, you know, I we, we can't predict the future.
- 21:04It might come back to 26, but you know maybe silver goes to 29
- 21:08and then it only it only comes back to 27, you know and then
- 21:13when And then when that happens and people, you know like what
- 21:16that's actually really bullish When a market like it's
- 21:18correcting and you and people tend to think, oh it's going to
- 21:21come back to you know X, but then it doesn't, you know it
- 21:24doesn't, it gets within 5 or 7% and then it starts moving.
- 21:27Then people, you know what they have to say, OK, now I have to
- 21:31buy it. It missed, I missed it once or
- 21:33twice it missed my. Now I have to buy it.
- 21:36And so that's why I like, you know, smaller than expected
- 21:40corrections can be really, really, really bullish because
- 21:43it tells everyone, OK, you know, this market moved up a lot, but
- 21:47it really only corrected, like it only corrected a small
- 21:50amount. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:52Well, I'm getting, I'm getting like super excited about silver.
- 21:55I'm gonna touch on gold at the end of our conversation.
- 21:58But also what about the fact, Jordan, that the silver market
- 22:02is also so small. I mean when you look at the the,
- 22:06the overall value by by several different measurements, right,
- 22:11like well there's about a billion ounces of silver
- 22:13combined between mining and recycling produced per year that
- 22:17makes it what I guess it's today's price about a $27
- 22:20billion market. It does that play in, in terms
- 22:26of the like if, if, how do I say this, if it's not like we're
- 22:29dealing with Apple stock or the S&P 500, which is thousands of
- 22:34multiples bigger, the silver market's small.
- 22:37Could that somehow, could that be a factor in terms of price
- 22:41movements as we as we move forward?
- 22:44Absolutely, Yeah. It it will accentuate certain
- 22:48movements. Like if you think about what
- 22:49happened in 1979, nineteen eighty and even 20.
- 22:53I mean even from I think 2010 to a 2011, I mean silver at then, I
- 22:58mean I think 20/21/22 like that area was, you know, silver had
- 23:03crashed during the great financial crisis, but it came
- 23:06back And then you know, I remember that level, you know
- 23:09like if silver can break above that level, you know that it has
- 23:12room to really move and that's what happened.
- 23:14It made that huge move in 2011 and so going back to silver,
- 23:20having this huge base at $50, that's why technically when it's
- 23:27able to break above 50, you could see that move to you know
- 23:3195 or 100 like really, really fast.
- 23:34And so somebody, you know somebody could look at the chart
- 23:36and they'll say, well it, you know it took so long for it to
- 23:38it was trading between 20 and 26 for you know several years And
- 23:42then you know maybe it took a year or so, you know around 34.
- 23:45But then when it finally got to 50 and broke above that, you
- 23:50know there's just there's less sellers along the way and the
- 23:53buyers are getting stronger and stronger then you get up to 50
- 23:57and then you know once you break it's like all hell could break
- 24:00loose at that point because of not only the tacticals of the
- 24:04market but then as you said you factor in this is a tiny market.
- 24:09So and so people can, they can under, they can look at the
- 24:12chart and say OK well you know I understand if it breaks 50 it
- 24:15could have this huge move. But then you add in what you're
- 24:18saying that you know the bulls are gaining, they're getting
- 24:22stronger and stronger, gaining more control as we approach 50.
- 24:27But then you break 50 and you have this really tiny market
- 24:30where you know all this just huge amount of new money is
- 24:34coming in. That's how you can get like
- 24:36super vertical moves like that. That's how you get these moves
- 24:39in commodity. So I I don't know if I answered
- 24:42your question, but that's how I see it.
- 24:44That's how I see it tying in with silver breaking 50 that you
- 24:48could get, you know this this tidal wave of money coming in
- 24:51and that's how it's able to move from 50 to 100 in a a much
- 24:56shorter amount of time than one would assume.
- 25:00Yeah, yeah, you know and and and and on top of that if you know
- 25:06my my neighborhood here where I live, we have a neighborhood
- 25:09swimming pool and it's great. It's wonderful, great place like
- 25:12a community watering hole. I have great neighbors.
- 25:15I can tell you from having gone to that pool for years, none of
- 25:19my neighbors have any interest in talking about silver or gold.
- 25:23So as as you talk about those like the scenario unfolding, if
- 25:28the mainstream media starts to pick up on, I mean they'll never
- 25:32talk about silver. But if the mainstream media
- 25:34starts to talk about silver, if people, you know maybe begin to
- 25:38wake up and realize that that no matter how you want to slice it
- 25:42or dice it, the real value of the US dollar is going down.
- 25:47And that if we get just a few, maybe we're one in 101 in 200
- 25:51people right now that are what I would say real enthusiast about
- 25:55precious metals. If that number goes from you
- 25:58know one in 200 to even 10 and 200, you're talking about
- 26:03multiples more money coming into a really small market.
- 26:07Is that I mean do you do you do you ever think about that as a
- 26:10as a plausible scenario. Fortuna Silver Mines is a global
- 26:15intermediate gold and silver producer.
- 26:18Since 2005, Fortuna's best in class management has delivered
- 26:22impressive growth and profits. Fortuna's solid financial
- 26:26position and operational expertise allows for performance
- 26:31in any precious metals price cycle and provides a foundation
- 26:36from which to harvest great profits in more favorable metals
- 26:39markets. Investing in Fortuna is an
- 26:42investment in quality, long term, sustainable production of
- 26:46in demand precious and base metals.
- 26:50It's very plausible and because any market that performs really
- 26:55well, I mean over time, it is essentially that that's what
- 26:59attracts attention. Like why is crypto in Bitcoin so
- 27:02popular? I mean I don't, I don't want to,
- 27:04I don't want to, you know, crap on crypto.
- 27:07But it it's gone up since 2011. I mean it it's traded, it's
- 27:11traded with tech stocks basically.
- 27:13So it, you know, tech stocks and the stock market, they've been
- 27:15in the secular bowl since 2009. I think Bitcoin started trading
- 27:19in 2011 and that's why it's so popular.
- 27:22It's been going up for more than 10 years.
- 27:23I mean gold just broke out from a 13 year cup and handle
- 27:27pattern. I mean it's not that gold is
- 27:29only marginally above where it was 13 years ago.
- 27:32Silver still, I mean it's way below its 1980 high.
- 27:34So but that's why gold and silver are not as popular.
- 27:41I mean they, yes, they were more popular 20/10/2011, Everyone's
- 27:45was talking about it. So the better a market does
- 27:48naturally, you know, the more bullish sentiment will be and
- 27:50the more popular it will get. And that is not necessarily an
- 27:55automatic sell signal because people will assume you know, Oh
- 27:57well everybody loves it. We and you know that's a sell
- 28:00signal. Generally speaking, yes, it is.
- 28:02But you know, gold and silver could get really popular in the
- 28:06next year or two. But you know that, you know,
- 28:09silver could get really, really popular when it breaks 50.
- 28:13But that doesn't mean it's immediately going to go back
- 28:16down. It it, it could last a it could
- 28:18last a couple years, maybe five, Who knows, right?
- 28:21But. Yeah, yeah.
- 28:22So I that that's another important point I mean but but
- 28:27my, my, my thinking is and my point is like let's just you
- 28:30know presume in the next two or three you know silver goes to
- 28:32100 and then we have a you know we'll have a sell off for a year
- 28:35or two silver you know from that move 50 to 100 like yes the the
- 28:42sentiment and the popularity will really start to increase
- 28:45but that again that is not necessarily like an automatic
- 28:48sell signal. It's an important thing to know
- 28:50and understand crowd psychology but it doesn't mean like on that
- 28:55day or that month the market is going to peak.
- 28:57But you know, just circling back to the present, what's popular?
- 29:02A crypto is way, way more popular than precious metals
- 29:05now. And so that that tells you, you
- 29:07know, and we and we have silver breaking above 26.
- 29:09Gold has already broken out. That just tells you, using some
- 29:12common sense, this thing for the next couple years this thing
- 29:15could really run. Yeah, yeah, very, very
- 29:18interesting. I want to get I I heard you
- 29:20speak about this since I want, but I want you to share this
- 29:24with with my audience or with our our audience today I should
- 29:29say not my audience. In regards to silver, if we look
- 29:34back at let's say 1980 when there was a real high level of
- 29:40interest in silver and I've heard these old time coin shop
- 29:44guys say, oh there were lines out the door around the block.
- 29:46We couldn't even let everybody come in, right.
- 29:49We had to turn people away. When silver became very popular,
- 29:53we know in 2011 obviously silver became very popular again.
- 29:58We also know interestingly that just one year ago when we had
- 30:02this little banking issue in the United States, silver became
- 30:06very, very popular again. My local coin shop didn't have
- 30:10any silver and it's a big shop and I know the online bullion
- 30:14dealers were raising minimum order sizes and and taking six,
- 30:197-8 weeks to to deliver products.
- 30:22Do you think that now because of technology, because information
- 30:28can spread much more quickly and on top of that you don't have to
- 30:33go and get in your station wagon and drive to the local coin
- 30:36store to buy silver. You can, but you can buy it
- 30:39online that that that changes in the market can happen much more
- 30:45quickly now as opposed to what we've experienced in the past.
- 30:50Yeah, it's very possible. I mean I I don't, I don't have
- 30:53the best, I mean it's a really good question.
- 30:55But I'll I'll defer to somebody else who I think can answer that
- 30:59better. But my, you know my general
- 31:01opinion and this is not with that, it's just an opinion is
- 31:04that I I mean I tend to agree with you I think I think that
- 31:07could lead to more explosive moves.
- 31:10I don't know if it condenses the time frame of the bull market,
- 31:13but I think it, I think it could, it could really add to
- 31:19the volatility and just the the the volatility on both the
- 31:22upside and downside and the explosiveness of the moves that
- 31:28we're going to see and just the really the you know,
- 31:31ridiculousness of what could be coming.
- 31:34And again, we've already seen this in in in crypto a little
- 31:37bit with you know these worthless coins, these
- 31:40dogecoins, you know all that stuff and just these scams and
- 31:44you know money is going into. I mean that's what we saw in
- 31:47the, you know the late 70s and and gold and silver and gold and
- 31:50silver stocks. But I given social media, you
- 31:52know technology as you said that I yeah, I definitely think that
- 31:58that that could have a real impact and that it could that's
- 32:01my guess is that it'll increase the volatility on both sides.
- 32:05Yeah. Interesting.
- 32:06Yeah. And I, and I want to go back to
- 32:08what you said earlier because it was you made a great point and
- 32:13something that I'd never thought of and I imagine a lot of our
- 32:16viewers would never thought of either that just because silver
- 32:22if and when does have this great big move and everybody's talking
- 32:26about it, that doesn't mean that that's the immediate time to
- 32:30sell. Ross Beauty who's kind of a well
- 32:35respected guy in the silver and gold mining well the precious
- 32:38metal mining the sector. I heard him once say that, like,
- 32:42the time to sell is when all the ducks are quacking.
- 32:45And I often repeated that and said, yeah, you know, like Ross
- 32:48Beatty says, so when all the ducks are quacking.
- 32:51But that's not necessarily true. You know, maybe another way to
- 32:55say that is and I'm not contesting Ross, I have a great
- 32:59deal of respect for him. But you know maybe think about
- 33:02selling some when when you think that the, you know, the ducks
- 33:06are all quacking, but you're starting to sense that they're
- 33:08reaching their, their peak of quacking or that or that the
- 33:13quacking is going to start to subside.
- 33:15I mean nobody can time these things perfectly, but but I
- 33:19think it's, it's interesting and and again what you said I think
- 33:22was a very helpful piece of information for our viewers and
- 33:27and that is that you know, you do want to have a plan, you know
- 33:31of what you're gonna do if you are gonna convert you know some
- 33:36precious metals into some other hopefully real asset if and when
- 33:41things do really take off. Yeah, it's so important.
- 33:45And the first thing I would say is the first thing I would say
- 33:48is always look at the chart 1st. And I mean if if if we're seeing
- 33:52this kind of a move and silver where it's going straight up and
- 33:57you're not, you're not looking at the daily chart.
- 33:58But when you're looking at like a a weekly or a monthly chart
- 34:01and it's gone straight up like that for you know a year or two
- 34:06or six months or whatever. I mean that that should you
- 34:09should just use common sense and understand you know that that
- 34:12move is not going to last. You know that will that will
- 34:15correct and come back at some point.
- 34:16Doesn't mean it's going to come back all the way, but you know,
- 34:20you have to understand what's going on in the chart.
- 34:23And again, you can just use common sense and then try and
- 34:26align that with how people are thinking about it
- 34:30psychologically. And so because what you're
- 34:33saying, I mean like let's just say silver will hit, you know,
- 34:3734 at some point this year. I mean it's going to start to
- 34:39get really popular. But you know from all the
- 34:42research that you know you've done and you know the technical
- 34:45work that I've did, we know that, you know, it could go to
- 34:48if it breaks 34, it could go to 50 and when it gets back up, you
- 34:52know, it could go to 100. So people that that's a much
- 34:55different situation. Silver being really popular at
- 34:57the end of this year and say it's at 34, that's much
- 35:00different than you know, let's just say like 8, you know, 24
- 35:04months from now silver's really popular and it just hit 100 and
- 35:07you know the chart the last two years, the chart looks like
- 35:10this. Then you have to understand, you
- 35:12know, I still think it's going to, I still think it's going to
- 35:14go a lot higher in the next 5-7, ten years.
- 35:17But you know, I got to take some off the table.
- 35:20I got to sell 1/3 of 1/2 just to be just to be careful, just to
- 35:24be safe, just to be prudent. And that's what the that's what
- 35:26the best investors do because they they nobody, nobody can
- 35:30time everything perfectly. Even though there's people who
- 35:33will tell you, I called the bottom, I called the top and I I
- 35:36called this and I called that. Like nobody can do that.
- 35:39There's like 5 people in the world who can do that and
- 35:41they'll tell you they can't even do it.
- 35:43So that's why it's it's so important to have have that plan
- 35:47and and that's what I I tell people you know dealing with the
- 35:49the you know the risky juniors. I mean I try and find high
- 35:52quality juniors but yeah I mean if the if if those are going
- 35:55straight up and you have you know a a 3X or A5X just sell
- 35:59half or sell 1/3 you know And that way if it you know if it
- 36:02goes down and it becomes a better value you can buy more.
- 36:05If it keeps going up you'll sell you know you still have some and
- 36:08so you profit it. If it keeps going up, sell
- 36:10another third. First, Mining Gold is a
- 36:13development company advancing two of the largest gold projects
- 36:16in Canada, Spring Pole in Ontario and Du Parquet located
- 36:21in Quebec. Each already has 5 million
- 36:24ounces of gold reserves but exploration initiatives are
- 36:29underway at both projects to find even more gold.
- 36:33First mining is well financed, has zero debt and owns an
- 36:37interest in four additional Canadian gold development
- 36:41projects. You know Jordan I, I had a a
- 36:44great friend who was the head trader, we had a one of the big
- 36:47financial service companies here in Saint Louis AG Edwards which
- 36:52have been around for years and years.
- 36:53Massive financial services company.
- 36:56And he he said exactly what you said.
- 37:00I asked him one time I'd had a stock that had double or
- 37:02tripled. The way he put it was you can
- 37:04always sell half and hope that you're wrong.
- 37:08Hope that you know the half that you hold on to.
- 37:11Excuse me, continues to go up in your favor.
- 37:16Yeah, I mean you could sell a third sell half and and again
- 37:20like we're like we're saying earlier think about this in
- 37:24advance like now is the time to be thinking about those
- 37:27strategies. So you know if silver hits 100
- 37:30and it's you know it's gone straight like that.
- 37:33You know if you're going to sell third or sell half you know and
- 37:37then you know and then at at some point you can you know
- 37:40replenish your stock and buy more.
- 37:43But you it's it's just so important you have to think
- 37:45about that plan in advance because when you know and if you
- 37:48don't have a strong believe me, I would stocks.
- 37:50I've made every mistake possible.
- 37:53Same here, same here. Jordan, you.
- 37:54See, it goes, you see it's gone up a lot.
- 37:57You say, oh, I think it could go up another five times.
- 38:00You know, I'm going to hold or I'm going to buy more.
- 38:03You learn, you learn through making those mistakes.
- 38:06And so that's, I'm sure that's what you know.
- 38:08Do you like to tell your audience, I mean, to pass along
- 38:10some of your wisdom and this, and again, this is so important,
- 38:13'cause you know, you're going to hear the same message from me
- 38:16and a lot of other people, probably yes.
- 38:18You know, Silver's it, it can go up.
- 38:20It's going to go up a lot. But you you want to make money
- 38:24and keep your money when it happens.
- 38:26You don't want to ride it all the way up, you know, and not
- 38:28sell. And then you know, like you have
- 38:31another 2011 where it's like, you know, it's like does it, you
- 38:35know, it's like dead for a decade or whatever.
- 38:38So it's just, I can't, you know, drone on about it enough, you
- 38:42know have a plan. If it goes vertical, sell half,
- 38:46you know, sell a third. Just figure it out in advance.
- 38:50Yeah. And if and if and if it was if
- 38:53it continues upward skyrocketing, will you still
- 38:57have half, right, you didn't sell everything and miss out on
- 39:00the rest of that move. If it goes back down, well then
- 39:03you can say, man, I'm glad I sold half and maybe you look to
- 39:06reenter. You know, it's interesting.
- 39:08I had a long conversation yesterday with Keith Newmeyer
- 39:11who's been in the silver and gold, you know, sector, a copper
- 39:15sector also for for decades. And he was talking about the the
- 39:19kind of 10 year bull run that we had from I think it was O2
- 39:23through 2012. And he described it just like
- 39:26you. He was like, you know, the
- 39:27market would go up and we'd think, OK, it's over, it's done.
- 39:30You know, it'd pull back and then it'd start to pull back and
- 39:32we would think, oh, it's done. It's not, you know, where the
- 39:34bull, the bull market's over. And then it would continue up
- 39:38again and then it would pull back and then it would continue
- 39:40up again. So these things can again.
- 39:44And I really respect that. You say that like nobody knows
- 39:47absolutely. For sure, but it's good to have
- 39:50a plan in place to kind of navigate things.
- 39:53Yeah, absolutely. Yeah.
- 39:55What about gold? Last question, last question for
- 39:58you. So we've talked a lot about
- 40:00silver. Obviously, Gold is now breaking
- 40:04out into new all time. I can't believe we're saying
- 40:07that, Jordan, but breaking has broken out, essentially.
- 40:11Into some all time high territory.
- 40:14Any thoughts on kind of what's going on with gold and what
- 40:19what, what we're looking at in terms of you know are are there
- 40:24additional resistance levels in gold right now?
- 40:28I mean you there are you have a measured upside target at 2350.
- 40:32So I'm looking at fin Vis, I don't know what contract it is
- 40:36but it says 2313 now. So there is resistance at 2350
- 40:40also 2500 so that those are strong targets.
- 40:44So maybe maybe at 2500 we could that could be at a level where
- 40:49we pull back for a couple months.
- 40:50I mean I don't know I'm just considering possibility.
- 40:54So I I think this really strong move that we've had, I think I
- 40:57think it's going to 2350 and and 2500 but this, this cup and
- 41:04handle pattern, I mean this 13 year cup and handle pattern
- 41:07which we broke out from you know a month ago or whenever it's so
- 41:12beautiful. I mean this is like chart porn
- 41:14for guys like me. You don't, you don't see like I
- 41:17told you this and this the silver base like these will be
- 41:20in technical analysis textbooks in the future because you you
- 41:23don't see you know these kinds of spectacular patterns that
- 41:28often. I mean there's really only, I
- 41:29mean there's less than 10, yeah I can point to in the last 100
- 41:33years. So this I mean and I and I think
- 41:36this pattern has a measured upside target of like roughly
- 41:403000. But when you look at the, when
- 41:42you look at the cup and so this is just using arithmetic, that's
- 41:46how you get 3000, you know the the depth of the cup.
- 41:50But when you look at the, the percentage, so it's 10:50 to you
- 41:54know 2100 or you know some people use 1900.
- 41:57But if we're looking at the low up to the high of the depth of
- 42:01the, you know that percentage is close to 100%.
- 42:04So if you take that percentage and measure it, you have AI call
- 42:09it a log target. So you have a log target of
- 42:11around 4000 and I looked at his, I looked at historical cup and
- 42:15handles and that ones that lasted at least several years.
- 42:20There's not that many of them and they're not, they're not as
- 42:22pure as this gold pattern. But what I what I found in all
- 42:26those patterns was they ended up going like well beyond the log
- 42:31target. That's the first.
- 42:33The second thing is they went from the the measured upside
- 42:36which would be 3000 in this case to the log target which is 4000.
- 42:40All those historical pattern, it took like 6 to 12 months to to
- 42:44get to that point. So I think you know over the
- 42:48next two or three years, you know if we have a recession, if
- 42:54we have a downturn in the economy like we can see gold, I
- 42:56mean 4000 would be my minimum target.
- 42:59But I think again if we have a recession in the next couple
- 43:02years, I mean we could see you know 5006 thousand gold
- 43:06potentially in the next three years.
- 43:08That doesn't mean I'm doing it, you know that target doesn't
- 43:11mean I'm doing anything super reckless right now.
- 43:13But it's just to understand that these types of patterns you know
- 43:16you have 3000, you have 4000, they're they're so bullish that
- 43:20they end up but market ends up going well beyond those targets.
- 43:25So I think that that's what's important to understand.
- 43:29I think that's you know where we're headed over the next
- 43:31couple years. I mean the the the last point is
- 43:35the stock market is what's holding gold back.
- 43:38Now gold has been strong enough and now silver they have been
- 43:41strong enough to break out even before that.
- 43:45You know the economy has gone into recession officially and
- 43:48you know the stock market has had this downturn.
- 43:50I mean that that the strength has really surprised me.
- 43:53But again, if in the next, you know year or two if we get that
- 43:58downturn in the economy and we get a recession, I mean that is
- 44:02going to set the stage for. Explosives.
- 44:05Yes, gold and silver to make really, really explosive, but
- 44:08like that's how gold moves from not just three to 4000, but
- 44:12that's how gold can hit five to six I think in the next two or
- 44:16three years. So that's really the missing
- 44:17link right now is you still have, you still have a secular
- 44:22bull in the stock market that has not broken.
- 44:24And so if you, if you go to the 70s, the reason why that was so
- 44:28powerful, of course there's several reasons.
- 44:29But in the 70s you had a secular bear in the stock market and in
- 44:34the bond market like if you look at the 2000s, you only had a
- 44:37secular bear in stocks like bonds were still in a secular
- 44:40bull. And so this, this bull market,
- 44:45this is shaping up to be I think more similar to the 70s than the
- 44:492000s. And so the 70s you have really
- 44:52explosive moves, you know, both on the upside and the downside.
- 44:56And so again, once we see the stock market actually break, I
- 44:59know some people think, Oh well, you know, we're going to see a
- 45:02repeat of 2020 or 2008 where you know, the the metals will, you
- 45:06know, precious metals will crash with the stock market.
- 45:08I mean this is a whole nother conversation.
- 45:11I don't see that Hap. I don't see that happening this
- 45:13time especially in the next couple years.
- 45:15You know, I may change my tune if something changes.
- 45:17But the stock market cracking the economy going into recession
- 45:23again, that is the fuel that can that can again move gold from
- 45:29not only, you know 3 to 4000, but you know 5 to 6 and maybe
- 45:32for maybe take silver from 50 to 100 like that could be what's
- 45:36needed to really make those moves happen.
