Let's just say silver will hit, you know, 34 at some point this
0:03
year. I mean it's going to start to
0:04
get really popular. But you know, from all the
0:07
research that you know you've done and you know the technical
0:10
work that I've done, we know that, you know, it could go to
0:13
if it breaks 34, it could go to 50 and when it gets back up, you
0:17
know, it could go to 100. The price of silver and gold are
0:23
on a real tear. Gold heading into new all time
0:27
high territory, What about silver?
0:29
Could it soon follow? Today we have a special guest,
0:34
Jordan Roy Byrne from the Daily Gold Podcast.
0:38
He's one of the smartest minds in the room and he's agreed to
0:42
join us today to give his perspective on what's going on
0:45
in the precious metals markets. Jordan, welcome to Ron's
0:48
Basement. Hey, Ron, thanks so much for
0:51
having me. It's a pleasure to be on with
0:53
you today. Yeah, and what a great day,
0:55
Jordan, that we have, right? I think we were talking before
0:58
we went live silver up almost $0.75 to, oh, almost $27.00 gold
1:06
on the spot market pushing up near 3000.
1:09
I'm sorry, 2300, wishful thinking there, but what's your
1:14
general feeling about what's happening right now in the
1:16
silver and gold markets? Well, I think it just today and
1:21
yesterday I I think we're starting to see, I mean I
1:24
haven't looked at gold silver ratio charts in the last couple
1:27
days, but I think we're starting to see silver take a little bit
1:33
of the leadership away from gold.
1:35
And I did it. I think I posted an article or a
1:37
video. I mean, I can't remember in the
1:39
last couple weeks and I was looking at, OK, after gold
1:42
breaks out, then at what point does silver tend to take the
1:46
baton and actually lead gold? And so historically, I think
1:49
there's been six or seven gold breakouts.
1:51
And no matter how you measure them and you know it, it can be
1:56
like a couple months after gold breakouts.
1:58
In some cases, it took, you know, 7-8 months for silver to
2:02
then really start out performing gold at the gold stocks.
2:05
Actually, they tend to start out performing gold right away after
2:09
that breakout. But silver, you tend to need a
2:11
little more time and it's really interesting.
2:14
I mean gold has a big breakout and then silver has a big
2:17
breakout. So silver had its own breakout
2:20
after gold breakouts. And so I was talking about this
2:23
a couple weeks ago and then said, OK, well we're lining up,
2:25
you know silver 26, that's that's the key breakout level.
2:29
You know, it can also be 28. I mean it's because there's
2:31
there's resistance at 26 and then there's some resistance of
2:36
2829. So I mean depending on how you
2:38
look at it, you could say well it's breaking out today or it
2:41
has to break above 28 or 29. But all that aside, what people
2:45
need to know is that it looks like we're, you know, if it
2:48
hasn't already started in the last day or two, we're looking
2:51
at a a point when silver could start to outperform gold and
2:56
that's that's really exciting for the sector.
2:59
Yeah. And you know when we talk about
3:02
the the gold to silver ratio which got as high as 90
3:07
recently, I mean and and and looking at historic charts
3:10
that's really high. Do you subscribe to this line of
3:15
thinking that I I heard someone describe the, the silver or gold
3:18
to silver ratio almost like a like a rubber band or a or a
3:22
bungee cord, right. It gets stretched and stretched
3:25
and you know you can look at it over all types of, you know,
3:28
historical data from anywhere from a year to 1000 years.
3:32
But I think under most any time frame the the silver or gold to
3:37
silver ratio had been stretched quite a bit that that stores up
3:41
a lot of energy. And then we hear about and and I
3:44
think maybe I heard you may be describing this as you were
3:47
speaking like a slingshot move at some point and like you said
3:51
maybe two to three months after gold moves.
3:56
Yeah. And and what you're describing,
3:58
you see that in many markets and also you you, you tend to see
4:01
that quite a bit more often in commodity markets than stock
4:05
markets where various commodities will spend a lot of
4:10
time trading in a a range. I mean they we just saw it with
4:13
gold in the last 3 1/2 years, which you know it built this
4:19
handle on this, it was the handle on this gigantic cup and
4:22
handle pattern. But yes, you can look at it's
4:24
silver and silver even it can be range bound even more so than
4:31
gold and other markets. So, so the the slingshot that
4:33
type of move with what you're talking about you you tend you
4:37
tend to really see that in silver even more so than the
4:39
other commodities. And so with the gold, silver
4:42
ratio, you're absolutely right because it can, I mean it can,
4:46
it can trade at a high level for for a long period of time and
4:50
then suddenly in a short period of time you can get that
4:54
Slingshot move where silver is really, really outperforming.
4:58
And and even just talking about silver in nominal terms, we see
5:02
the same thing. And so we could, you know,
5:04
looking at the chart, yes, there's, there's some resistance
5:06
of 28, but there's really 26 is really the most significant
5:10
resistance that's it's weekly, monthly and quarterly
5:14
resistance, all those charts. So it's going to take some time
5:17
for us to really confirm that silver has broken 26.
5:21
I mean there's still time this month or this week where I
5:24
could, you know it could correct and come back to 2600 do
5:29
something like that. But you know, aside from that, I
5:32
do think that I mean whether it's you know this week or this
5:36
month or even next month, I do think silver is clearing 26 and
5:40
so then silver has a measured upside target.
5:43
It's not the best, I'd say it's not the highest probability
5:46
target, but it is fairly high probability that 34 would be the
5:52
next level. And again, so you have the
5:53
resistance of 26 and there's some resistance of 2829, then
5:58
you have 34 which is the next most significant resistance for
6:02
silver. And so getting back to what you
6:04
said, silver could move from 26 to 34, I mean you know nobody
6:10
knows the future but that could you know that guy that maybe
6:13
that happens in six months or eight months or four month five.
6:15
I mean I don't know it could be something like that.
6:18
But if you if you think about how quickly or you you think
6:20
about it, that's very quick compared to what's happened the
6:23
last few years in silver where I mean it's been stuck in the low
6:27
you know mid 20s really for most of that move.
6:30
So that that's what I I think just in you know delving into
6:34
the big picture, that's what people have to understand.
6:36
I mean, I know that charts and technicals can be very
6:38
confusing, but we really could be entering into an era where
6:43
both gold and silver, they're set up for really explosive
6:47
moves like the the set up is there.
6:49
And so that that is going to also include more volatility
6:53
both going up and down. And so that it's really
6:56
important for people to understand that that yes, we're
6:59
at a point in history where over the next 3578 years we could see
7:04
some really huge moves, but at the same time, you know you're
7:07
not going to go straight up over 7 to 8 years.
7:09
There will be, you know, some some downturns within that
7:12
period. So, so but I have so many things
7:16
now I want to ask you about you you you spoke about confirmation
7:21
of Silver on the breakout and and help me because you know a
7:24
lot more about this than I do and you'll probably be helping
7:27
our viewer also in terms of Silver confirming this this move
7:33
above 26, do we have to wait for the end of the week to say that
7:37
it confirmed on a weekly basis and wait till the end of the
7:41
month to say that it confirmed on a monthly basis?
7:44
Is that is that how that works? Yeah, absolutely.
7:47
That's absolutely how it works. And so that's the 1st.
7:50
And so we're we're, you know we're we're at, we're speaking
7:52
on April 3rd. So there's a long way to go for
7:54
a month. But but yes, that's the first
7:58
thing to watch for is just just see how Silver closes the week.
8:01
If it can hold, care, hold, and, you know, just hold noticeably
8:05
above 2600, that's the first confirmation that we're looking
8:08
for. OK.
8:10
Next question for you, Jordan, and thank you, 'cause I'm, I
8:13
feel like I and I know our viewers are learning here as
8:15
well. One thing that I've observed and
8:19
and become a rather vocal vocal, you know vocally and visually
8:24
showed to my viewers is like you said the silver price over the
8:29
last number of years. And then especially let's say in
8:32
the last year and three months that the price range that it was
8:36
trading within really seemed to be compressed.
8:39
And there was this wedge pattern that was formed and that we've
8:44
broken out of this wedge. But maybe on a daily basis I
8:47
guess at this point we can say we broke out of the wedge.
8:51
But but we also looked at a big long term cup and handle
8:55
formation and silver I think started in maybe was it 1980 at
9:00
$50 and then 2011 at $50.00 that formed this big massive cup and
9:06
then we have this handle in silver.
9:09
Could we with, you know if we break out of this wedge pattern,
9:14
could we be at a point where you know eventually silver could get
9:18
a like a turbocharge. And I mean, what would it look
9:21
like if Silver broke out of that cup and handle pattern?
9:25
Yeah, a couple things on that. First of all, even though it
9:29
looks like a cup and handle it, it's and I get we're getting
9:32
really in the weeds. It's technically not a cup.
9:34
It's technically not a cup and handle because the handle and
9:37
silver retraced too much. Of of.
9:41
The preceding move, like if you look at gold that was it was a
9:44
very, you know the handle only retraced I think 38% of the
9:48
preceding move. And so typically that's what you
9:51
see in cup and handles and that's why gold was able to, I
9:54
mean yes it took 3 1/2 years, but that's why gold was able you
9:58
know to to have this explosive breakout where whereas for
10:01
silver, silver moved up to 50. But if silver were in a cup and
10:05
handle it it, I think it would have had to hold about 35 or
10:09
something like that. So I know we're getting, I know
10:11
we're getting real in the weeds because everyone's looking at
10:14
it. They're saying this is a cup and
10:15
handle and silver, so. Me, me, me, and Koval.
10:19
Yes, but but here's here's the distinction.
10:21
Because, you know, I love to get nuanced.
10:23
I mean the distinction is technically it's not a cup and
10:26
handle. However, at the same time, if
10:31
and when silver, you know it breaks above 35, you can see it
10:34
start to when it starts moving back towards 50, it's then it's
10:39
still setting up for a really, really explosive move.
10:42
So it's like it's like yes, the conclusion is right.
10:45
Silver is in this spectacular pattern where it can have this
10:48
incredible move when it breaks 50, but it's technically not a
10:52
cup and handle. So you know, I don't, I don't
10:55
know how we want to take but but yeah, I mean we're getting in
10:58
the weeds but the the the big, if you think it's a cup and
11:00
handle, you're still right on the big picture that yes, when
11:04
silver is and again so looking at if you look at the quarterly
11:08
charts or if you're looking at quarterly candles like 30-4,
11:12
this is another reason why 30, you see this in tactical
11:14
analysis a lot. So you know looking at that
11:16
wedge you're talking about or the inverse head and shoulders
11:19
on silver, you know there's a low of 18, you have this 26
11:22
resistance, so you take that that measures up to 34.
11:25
But when you're also looking at if you're looking at the
11:27
quarterly chart and those candles going back to 1980, I
11:31
mean you can see there's resistance you know 3334.
11:35
So it's lining up with that target.
11:37
So the the point is if if and when we get a quarterly close
11:42
above 34 that is going to put us in really good position to rally
11:47
up to 50 maybe even break that. But you know getting back to the
11:51
the cup and handle this. This is a real spectacular base
11:57
in silver and I've said that you know the SO gold's broken out
12:01
from a 13 year cup and handle pattern silver again technically
12:05
it's not a cup and handle but when silver starts approaching
12:09
50 again, I mean I have said this is the biggest, the biggest
12:14
base of all time in financial markets in my opinion.
12:18
So in 10 to 20 years like these gold and silver path they will
12:23
be in new technical analysis textbooks in the future.
12:27
So silver again if this is the biggest base of all time, it
12:32
could be the biggest breakout of all time.
12:33
So and I talked with David Morgan about this and and I I
12:37
do, I completely agree with him. And and you've seen this in
12:40
other commodity markets like if you go back and you look at what
12:42
happened 2004, 2005 when oil broke out from a huge base, when
12:48
copper broke out from a huge, they moved like you know like
12:52
that just really quickly or I don't know if I had my video
12:57
right, but they they after those like commodity and you saw this
13:00
in cocoa by the way which is similar.
13:03
This is what happens in commodity markets when they
13:05
break out of really, really long bases.
13:09
They can have these moves where they go straight up.
13:11
So whenever we see silver breaking about 50, it's
13:14
probably, it's probably going to move towards 100 or at least 95.
13:19
The measured upside target of that I think is 95.
13:23
You're going to see silver move from 50 to 95.
13:27
That's going to happen like really quickly like it might be
13:30
in a year, it might be in four or six months.
13:32
So that that's what we're, that's what we're heading
13:35
towards I think in the future and.
13:38
I'm flying you to Saint Louis when that happens because that's
13:42
the that's the silver bear behind me who has a blind a
13:46
blindfold on that says 85. And we're taking the blindfold
13:50
off at $85 silver Jordan. And you know, I, I may, I may, I
13:54
may come. Yeah, we'll see.
13:56
What's? What's that?
13:57
What's that movie? Meet Me in Saint Louis.
13:59
Isn't that Pretty famous? Meet me in Saint Louis for the
14:02
big on on on the I'm holding another bear.
14:05
I will, I will, yeah. And and it's, you know, sorry to
14:09
Babble on here, but then then you could get into, you know, I
14:12
was talking about this earlier then you get the volatility on
14:15
both sides. So I I ultimately I think silver
14:18
is going even much, much higher than $100.00 an ounce.
14:22
But you know we could get to 100 the next couple years and then
14:25
you could have a downturn where you know it comes back to 65 or
14:28
70. And so that's what people need
14:30
to understand that yes, there's explosive upside, but you really
14:34
like, this is a good time for people to really understand and
14:38
learn their emotions and know, you know they can, they can
14:43
sense and understand what is coming and then have a plan for
14:46
that. So, so you don't make the wrong
14:48
decision. When Silver goes to 100, you're
14:50
like, Oh well, you know, holy shit, I'm going to, you know, I
14:53
need to buy a lot more now. It's going to go to 500 in the
14:55
next year. So people need to, you know,
14:58
they need to mind their emotions and kind of plan ahead.
15:01
That's all I'm trying to say. Yeah, yeah.
15:03
It's interesting you say that Jordan, 'cause I I preach that
15:07
to to my audience as well, that like you need to have a plan.
15:12
Like it's fun to sit around and fantasize about, oh, silver's
15:15
gonna go to the moon, silver, what if silver goes to you know?
15:19
But but when it actually happens, because I've owned
15:23
stocks that have done that before and been in that set
15:25
where something sky it, it can become you, you can become you.
15:29
It's easy to make very emotional decisions and bad decisions if
15:34
you don't have somewhat of a plan in place to like, what am I
15:39
going to do if Silver does skyrocket?
15:43
But I was, I was. I know last time Silver went way
15:45
up, David Morgan did a good job of calling the top.
15:48
So maybe we can just listen to him.
15:50
What what, what he has to say. If you're looking to buy gold,
15:53
silver, or platinum, do yourself a favor and check out PIM Becks,
15:57
the online precious metals bullion dealer and sponsor of
16:02
Ron Space. I was a happy customer before
16:05
they offered to support the channel.
16:07
You'll find they have the best prices, quality, and service.
16:11
I think Pembex is best and you will too.
16:15
And be sure to tell him that you're from Ron's basement.
16:17
There there were a lot of warning signs going into that.
16:19
But I think, I think, you know shout out to him because I I
16:23
remember listening to him on a podcast where he did call the
16:26
top. Yeah, I mean I and I was
16:28
thinking OK maybe silver will will only correct for like two
16:32
or three years at that point. But I mean it you know it took,
16:34
it took, it took a really long time.
16:38
And so that's that's what people need to understand.
16:40
You know it it like the, you know the the secular move as I'm
16:45
saying or even just the move to 100, you know the move to 100
16:50
that could be a top for two, two or three years.
16:53
So that's what that's what people need to understand.
16:57
I I want to ask you about this idea of overhead resistance and
17:01
ask you to explain it a little more to me and also the the
17:04
person who's joining us here for this, for this conversation.
17:08
Because when we talk about silver, let's say rising once it
17:13
gets to $34 per oz and then at that point sure you know silver
17:19
has has you know had a couple times very short periods of time
17:23
where it in 1980 and 2011 where it got up to 50.
17:27
But there just aren't a lot of people out there I don't think
17:30
who are holding silver that bought it at let's say 43 when
17:34
the spot price was $43.00 an ounce who are patiently waiting
17:37
for it to get to 43 to sell it. How does that idea play into
17:43
that move for silver once it does get above those resistance
17:47
levels? Yeah.
17:48
Well, it's a great question and resistance is very important.
17:52
I think people have to think about that as it's just supply
17:55
and demand. Like when you're looking at
17:56
support and resistance, it's just you're looking at it, it's
18:00
supply and demand. So it's it's based on you know
18:05
buyers and sellers, you know mostly in the futures market,
18:08
you know they're buying and selling various contracts.
18:11
And to get into the second part of your question, you know when
18:13
you break above resistance that level then becomes support.
18:17
So silver has broken above 26 and at some point it could go
18:23
back to 26 just to retest. Now it doesn't always happen in
18:27
commodity markets or in any market but that would be totally
18:32
not, I mean silver could, it could move up to 2829 and people
18:35
might OK, well it's going to go to 34 now then it could come
18:38
back and retest 26. So you know I'm hope I'm
18:42
answering the question but these, you know these resistance
18:46
levels are levels in the past where there were more sellers
18:50
than buyers like that's the way I think about it.
18:52
So in 26 there have been more sellers than buyers over the
18:57
last couple and that's why it's but it's taking so long and and
19:00
you know so, so the buyers have been able to move it up to 26 so
19:03
many times but then the sellers kept knocking it back down.
19:06
But now that the buyers have gained control that 26 level is
19:10
going to be support. So if silver comes back down to
19:13
retest 26, the buyers are going to have the advantage, more
19:16
buyers now are going to come in and also all those sellers who
19:21
are selling it at 26, they now know there's also like a a
19:24
psychological change in market like everybody knows OK 26 is
19:29
broken. So we we now know that that is
19:32
support and and so yes 34 so that's the next level.
19:36
And so it's this is just simple stuff stuff.
19:40
And so it helps us know that you know yes there's some resistance
19:44
at 28 or 29. So that's a level where you know
19:47
silver hits that maybe it'll do a little pull back from there.
19:50
But we know at the same time OK 34 like that's the next 26 like
19:54
that's going to be the next significant level.
19:57
So that's how to think about support and resistance.
20:00
It's just supply and demand. Yeah.
20:02
And then I imagine once it breaks through the resistance,
20:05
then you've got a number of people that are thinking, you
20:09
know, right. Let's say silver goes to 34 and
20:12
it does start to pull back a little bit.
20:15
You've got a number of people who are thinking, boy, I missed
20:18
the, you know, I I wish people who'd wished they'd bought it,
20:21
let's say 29 or 28 that then if it as it pulls back, they'll
20:26
they'll jump in as buyers. It seems like it's a it's a
20:29
supply and demand dynamic and then with a little bit of
20:33
psychology mixed in there as well.
20:35
Is that does that? No, that that's that's
20:37
incredibly important insight because that's what happens when
20:41
the market, the market breaks above that level.
20:43
But for the people that missed it, they're the ones who are
20:47
buying when it pulls back. So again like if silver moves up
20:51
to 2829 and you know the the people who missed that, you know
20:57
some of those we'll be waiting for silver to come back to 26.
21:01
And again, you know, I we, we can't predict the future.
21:04
It might come back to 26, but you know maybe silver goes to 29
21:08
and then it only it only comes back to 27, you know and then
21:13
when And then when that happens and people, you know like what
21:16
that's actually really bullish When a market like it's
21:18
correcting and you and people tend to think, oh it's going to
21:21
come back to you know X, but then it doesn't, you know it
21:24
doesn't, it gets within 5 or 7% and then it starts moving.
21:27
Then people, you know what they have to say, OK, now I have to
21:31
buy it. It missed, I missed it once or
21:33
twice it missed my. Now I have to buy it.
21:36
And so that's why I like, you know, smaller than expected
21:40
corrections can be really, really, really bullish because
21:43
it tells everyone, OK, you know, this market moved up a lot, but
21:47
it really only corrected, like it only corrected a small
21:50
amount. Yeah, yeah.
21:52
Well, I'm getting, I'm getting like super excited about silver.
21:55
I'm gonna touch on gold at the end of our conversation.
21:58
But also what about the fact, Jordan, that the silver market
22:02
is also so small. I mean when you look at the the,
22:06
the overall value by by several different measurements, right,
22:11
like well there's about a billion ounces of silver
22:13
combined between mining and recycling produced per year that
22:17
makes it what I guess it's today's price about a $27
22:20
billion market. It does that play in, in terms
22:26
of the like if, if, how do I say this, if it's not like we're
22:29
dealing with Apple stock or the S&P 500, which is thousands of
22:34
multiples bigger, the silver market's small.
22:37
Could that somehow, could that be a factor in terms of price
22:41
movements as we as we move forward?
22:44
Absolutely, Yeah. It it will accentuate certain
22:48
movements. Like if you think about what
22:49
happened in 1979, nineteen eighty and even 20.
22:53
I mean even from I think 2010 to a 2011, I mean silver at then, I
22:58
mean I think 20/21/22 like that area was, you know, silver had
23:03
crashed during the great financial crisis, but it came
23:06
back And then you know, I remember that level, you know
23:09
like if silver can break above that level, you know that it has
23:12
room to really move and that's what happened.
23:14
It made that huge move in 2011 and so going back to silver,
23:20
having this huge base at $50, that's why technically when it's
23:27
able to break above 50, you could see that move to you know
23:31
95 or 100 like really, really fast.
23:34
And so somebody, you know somebody could look at the chart
23:36
and they'll say, well it, you know it took so long for it to
23:38
it was trading between 20 and 26 for you know several years And
23:42
then you know maybe it took a year or so, you know around 34.
23:45
But then when it finally got to 50 and broke above that, you
23:50
know there's just there's less sellers along the way and the
23:53
buyers are getting stronger and stronger then you get up to 50
23:57
and then you know once you break it's like all hell could break
24:00
loose at that point because of not only the tacticals of the
24:04
market but then as you said you factor in this is a tiny market.
24:09
So and so people can, they can under, they can look at the
24:12
chart and say OK well you know I understand if it breaks 50 it
24:15
could have this huge move. But then you add in what you're
24:18
saying that you know the bulls are gaining, they're getting
24:22
stronger and stronger, gaining more control as we approach 50.
24:27
But then you break 50 and you have this really tiny market
24:30
where you know all this just huge amount of new money is
24:34
coming in. That's how you can get like
24:36
super vertical moves like that. That's how you get these moves
24:39
in commodity. So I I don't know if I answered
24:42
your question, but that's how I see it.
24:44
That's how I see it tying in with silver breaking 50 that you
24:48
could get, you know this this tidal wave of money coming in
24:51
and that's how it's able to move from 50 to 100 in a a much
24:56
shorter amount of time than one would assume.
25:00
Yeah, yeah, you know and and and and on top of that if you know
25:06
my my neighborhood here where I live, we have a neighborhood
25:09
swimming pool and it's great. It's wonderful, great place like
25:12
a community watering hole. I have great neighbors.
25:15
I can tell you from having gone to that pool for years, none of
25:19
my neighbors have any interest in talking about silver or gold.
25:23
So as as you talk about those like the scenario unfolding, if
25:28
the mainstream media starts to pick up on, I mean they'll never
25:32
talk about silver. But if the mainstream media
25:34
starts to talk about silver, if people, you know maybe begin to
25:38
wake up and realize that that no matter how you want to slice it
25:42
or dice it, the real value of the US dollar is going down.
25:47
And that if we get just a few, maybe we're one in 101 in 200
25:51
people right now that are what I would say real enthusiast about
25:55
precious metals. If that number goes from you
25:58
know one in 200 to even 10 and 200, you're talking about
26:03
multiples more money coming into a really small market.
26:07
Is that I mean do you do you do you ever think about that as a
26:10
as a plausible scenario. Fortuna Silver Mines is a global
26:15
intermediate gold and silver producer.
26:18
Since 2005, Fortuna's best in class management has delivered
26:22
impressive growth and profits. Fortuna's solid financial
26:26
position and operational expertise allows for performance
26:31
in any precious metals price cycle and provides a foundation
26:36
from which to harvest great profits in more favorable metals
26:39
markets. Investing in Fortuna is an
26:42
investment in quality, long term, sustainable production of
26:46
in demand precious and base metals.
26:50
It's very plausible and because any market that performs really
26:55
well, I mean over time, it is essentially that that's what
26:59
attracts attention. Like why is crypto in Bitcoin so
27:02
popular? I mean I don't, I don't want to,
27:04
I don't want to, you know, crap on crypto.
27:07
But it it's gone up since 2011. I mean it it's traded, it's
27:11
traded with tech stocks basically.
27:13
So it, you know, tech stocks and the stock market, they've been
27:15
in the secular bowl since 2009. I think Bitcoin started trading
27:19
in 2011 and that's why it's so popular.
27:22
It's been going up for more than 10 years.
27:23
I mean gold just broke out from a 13 year cup and handle
27:27
pattern. I mean it's not that gold is
27:29
only marginally above where it was 13 years ago.
27:32
Silver still, I mean it's way below its 1980 high.
27:34
So but that's why gold and silver are not as popular.
27:41
I mean they, yes, they were more popular 20/10/2011, Everyone's
27:45
was talking about it. So the better a market does
27:48
naturally, you know, the more bullish sentiment will be and
27:50
the more popular it will get. And that is not necessarily an
27:55
automatic sell signal because people will assume you know, Oh
27:57
well everybody loves it. We and you know that's a sell
28:00
signal. Generally speaking, yes, it is.
28:02
But you know, gold and silver could get really popular in the
28:06
next year or two. But you know that, you know,
28:09
silver could get really, really popular when it breaks 50.
28:13
But that doesn't mean it's immediately going to go back
28:16
down. It it, it could last a it could
28:18
last a couple years, maybe five, Who knows, right?
28:21
But. Yeah, yeah.
28:22
So I that that's another important point I mean but but
28:27
my, my, my thinking is and my point is like let's just you
28:30
know presume in the next two or three you know silver goes to
28:32
100 and then we have a you know we'll have a sell off for a year
28:35
or two silver you know from that move 50 to 100 like yes the the
28:42
sentiment and the popularity will really start to increase
28:45
but that again that is not necessarily like an automatic
28:48
sell signal. It's an important thing to know
28:50
and understand crowd psychology but it doesn't mean like on that
28:55
day or that month the market is going to peak.
28:57
But you know, just circling back to the present, what's popular?
29:02
A crypto is way, way more popular than precious metals
29:05
now. And so that that tells you, you
29:07
know, and we and we have silver breaking above 26.
29:09
Gold has already broken out. That just tells you, using some
29:12
common sense, this thing for the next couple years this thing
29:15
could really run. Yeah, yeah, very, very
29:18
interesting. I want to get I I heard you
29:20
speak about this since I want, but I want you to share this
29:24
with with my audience or with our our audience today I should
29:29
say not my audience. In regards to silver, if we look
29:34
back at let's say 1980 when there was a real high level of
29:40
interest in silver and I've heard these old time coin shop
29:44
guys say, oh there were lines out the door around the block.
29:46
We couldn't even let everybody come in, right.
29:49
We had to turn people away. When silver became very popular,
29:53
we know in 2011 obviously silver became very popular again.
29:58
We also know interestingly that just one year ago when we had
30:02
this little banking issue in the United States, silver became
30:06
very, very popular again. My local coin shop didn't have
30:10
any silver and it's a big shop and I know the online bullion
30:14
dealers were raising minimum order sizes and and taking six,
30:19
7-8 weeks to to deliver products.
30:22
Do you think that now because of technology, because information
30:28
can spread much more quickly and on top of that you don't have to
30:33
go and get in your station wagon and drive to the local coin
30:36
store to buy silver. You can, but you can buy it
30:39
online that that that changes in the market can happen much more
30:45
quickly now as opposed to what we've experienced in the past.
30:50
Yeah, it's very possible. I mean I I don't, I don't have
30:53
the best, I mean it's a really good question.
30:55
But I'll I'll defer to somebody else who I think can answer that
30:59
better. But my, you know my general
31:01
opinion and this is not with that, it's just an opinion is
31:04
that I I mean I tend to agree with you I think I think that
31:07
could lead to more explosive moves.
31:10
I don't know if it condenses the time frame of the bull market,
31:13
but I think it, I think it could, it could really add to
31:19
the volatility and just the the the volatility on both the
31:22
upside and downside and the explosiveness of the moves that
31:28
we're going to see and just the really the you know,
31:31
ridiculousness of what could be coming.
31:34
And again, we've already seen this in in in crypto a little
31:37
bit with you know these worthless coins, these
31:40
dogecoins, you know all that stuff and just these scams and
31:44
you know money is going into. I mean that's what we saw in
31:47
the, you know the late 70s and and gold and silver and gold and
31:50
silver stocks. But I given social media, you
31:52
know technology as you said that I yeah, I definitely think that
31:58
that that could have a real impact and that it could that's
32:01
my guess is that it'll increase the volatility on both sides.
32:05
Yeah. Interesting.
32:06
Yeah. And I, and I want to go back to
32:08
what you said earlier because it was you made a great point and
32:13
something that I'd never thought of and I imagine a lot of our
32:16
viewers would never thought of either that just because silver
32:22
if and when does have this great big move and everybody's talking
32:26
about it, that doesn't mean that that's the immediate time to
32:30
sell. Ross Beauty who's kind of a well
32:35
respected guy in the silver and gold mining well the precious
32:38
metal mining the sector. I heard him once say that, like,
32:42
the time to sell is when all the ducks are quacking.
32:45
And I often repeated that and said, yeah, you know, like Ross
32:48
Beatty says, so when all the ducks are quacking.
32:51
But that's not necessarily true. You know, maybe another way to
32:55
say that is and I'm not contesting Ross, I have a great
32:59
deal of respect for him. But you know maybe think about
33:02
selling some when when you think that the, you know, the ducks
33:06
are all quacking, but you're starting to sense that they're
33:08
reaching their, their peak of quacking or that or that the
33:13
quacking is going to start to subside.
33:15
I mean nobody can time these things perfectly, but but I
33:19
think it's, it's interesting and and again what you said I think
33:22
was a very helpful piece of information for our viewers and
33:27
and that is that you know, you do want to have a plan, you know
33:31
of what you're gonna do if you are gonna convert you know some
33:36
precious metals into some other hopefully real asset if and when
33:41
things do really take off. Yeah, it's so important.
33:45
And the first thing I would say is the first thing I would say
33:48
is always look at the chart 1st. And I mean if if if we're seeing
33:52
this kind of a move and silver where it's going straight up and
33:57
you're not, you're not looking at the daily chart.
33:58
But when you're looking at like a a weekly or a monthly chart
34:01
and it's gone straight up like that for you know a year or two
34:06
or six months or whatever. I mean that that should you
34:09
should just use common sense and understand you know that that
34:12
move is not going to last. You know that will that will
34:15
correct and come back at some point.
34:16
Doesn't mean it's going to come back all the way, but you know,
34:20
you have to understand what's going on in the chart.
34:23
And again, you can just use common sense and then try and
34:26
align that with how people are thinking about it
34:30
psychologically. And so because what you're
34:33
saying, I mean like let's just say silver will hit, you know,
34:37
34 at some point this year. I mean it's going to start to
34:39
get really popular. But you know from all the
34:42
research that you know you've done and you know the technical
34:45
work that I've did, we know that, you know, it could go to
34:48
if it breaks 34, it could go to 50 and when it gets back up, you
34:52
know, it could go to 100. So people that that's a much
34:55
different situation. Silver being really popular at
34:57
the end of this year and say it's at 34, that's much
35:00
different than you know, let's just say like 8, you know, 24
35:04
months from now silver's really popular and it just hit 100 and
35:07
you know the chart the last two years, the chart looks like
35:10
this. Then you have to understand, you
35:12
know, I still think it's going to, I still think it's going to
35:14
go a lot higher in the next 5-7, ten years.
35:17
But you know, I got to take some off the table.
35:20
I got to sell 1/3 of 1/2 just to be just to be careful, just to
35:24
be safe, just to be prudent. And that's what the that's what
35:26
the best investors do because they they nobody, nobody can
35:30
time everything perfectly. Even though there's people who
35:33
will tell you, I called the bottom, I called the top and I I
35:36
called this and I called that. Like nobody can do that.
35:39
There's like 5 people in the world who can do that and
35:41
they'll tell you they can't even do it.
35:43
So that's why it's it's so important to have have that plan
35:47
and and that's what I I tell people you know dealing with the
35:49
the you know the risky juniors. I mean I try and find high
35:52
quality juniors but yeah I mean if the if if those are going
35:55
straight up and you have you know a a 3X or A5X just sell
35:59
half or sell 1/3 you know And that way if it you know if it
36:02
goes down and it becomes a better value you can buy more.
36:05
If it keeps going up you'll sell you know you still have some and
36:08
so you profit it. If it keeps going up, sell
36:10
another third. First, Mining Gold is a
36:13
development company advancing two of the largest gold projects
36:16
in Canada, Spring Pole in Ontario and Du Parquet located
36:21
in Quebec. Each already has 5 million
36:24
ounces of gold reserves but exploration initiatives are
36:29
underway at both projects to find even more gold.
36:33
First mining is well financed, has zero debt and owns an
36:37
interest in four additional Canadian gold development
36:41
projects. You know Jordan I, I had a a
36:44
great friend who was the head trader, we had a one of the big
36:47
financial service companies here in Saint Louis AG Edwards which
36:52
have been around for years and years.
36:53
Massive financial services company.
36:56
And he he said exactly what you said.
37:00
I asked him one time I'd had a stock that had double or
37:02
tripled. The way he put it was you can
37:04
always sell half and hope that you're wrong.
37:08
Hope that you know the half that you hold on to.
37:11
Excuse me, continues to go up in your favor.
37:16
Yeah, I mean you could sell a third sell half and and again
37:20
like we're like we're saying earlier think about this in
37:24
advance like now is the time to be thinking about those
37:27
strategies. So you know if silver hits 100
37:30
and it's you know it's gone straight like that.
37:33
You know if you're going to sell third or sell half you know and
37:37
then you know and then at at some point you can you know
37:40
replenish your stock and buy more.
37:43
But you it's it's just so important you have to think
37:45
about that plan in advance because when you know and if you
37:48
don't have a strong believe me, I would stocks.
37:50
I've made every mistake possible.
37:53
Same here, same here. Jordan, you.
37:54
See, it goes, you see it's gone up a lot.
37:57
You say, oh, I think it could go up another five times.
38:00
You know, I'm going to hold or I'm going to buy more.
38:03
You learn, you learn through making those mistakes.
38:06
And so that's, I'm sure that's what you know.
38:08
Do you like to tell your audience, I mean, to pass along
38:10
some of your wisdom and this, and again, this is so important,
38:13
'cause you know, you're going to hear the same message from me
38:16
and a lot of other people, probably yes.
38:18
You know, Silver's it, it can go up.
38:20
It's going to go up a lot. But you you want to make money
38:24
and keep your money when it happens.
38:26
You don't want to ride it all the way up, you know, and not
38:28
sell. And then you know, like you have
38:31
another 2011 where it's like, you know, it's like does it, you
38:35
know, it's like dead for a decade or whatever.
38:38
So it's just, I can't, you know, drone on about it enough, you
38:42
know have a plan. If it goes vertical, sell half,
38:46
you know, sell a third. Just figure it out in advance.
38:50
Yeah. And if and if and if it was if
38:53
it continues upward skyrocketing, will you still
38:57
have half, right, you didn't sell everything and miss out on
39:00
the rest of that move. If it goes back down, well then
39:03
you can say, man, I'm glad I sold half and maybe you look to
39:06
reenter. You know, it's interesting.
39:08
I had a long conversation yesterday with Keith Newmeyer
39:11
who's been in the silver and gold, you know, sector, a copper
39:15
sector also for for decades. And he was talking about the the
39:19
kind of 10 year bull run that we had from I think it was O2
39:23
through 2012. And he described it just like
39:26
you. He was like, you know, the
39:27
market would go up and we'd think, OK, it's over, it's done.
39:30
You know, it'd pull back and then it'd start to pull back and
39:32
we would think, oh, it's done. It's not, you know, where the
39:34
bull, the bull market's over. And then it would continue up
39:38
again and then it would pull back and then it would continue
39:40
up again. So these things can again.
39:44
And I really respect that. You say that like nobody knows
39:47
absolutely. For sure, but it's good to have
39:50
a plan in place to kind of navigate things.
39:53
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah.
39:55
What about gold? Last question, last question for
39:58
you. So we've talked a lot about
40:00
silver. Obviously, Gold is now breaking
40:04
out into new all time. I can't believe we're saying
40:07
that, Jordan, but breaking has broken out, essentially.
40:11
Into some all time high territory.
40:14
Any thoughts on kind of what's going on with gold and what
40:19
what, what we're looking at in terms of you know are are there
40:24
additional resistance levels in gold right now?
40:28
I mean you there are you have a measured upside target at 2350.
40:32
So I'm looking at fin Vis, I don't know what contract it is
40:36
but it says 2313 now. So there is resistance at 2350
40:40
also 2500 so that those are strong targets.
40:44
So maybe maybe at 2500 we could that could be at a level where
40:49
we pull back for a couple months.
40:50
I mean I don't know I'm just considering possibility.
40:54
So I I think this really strong move that we've had, I think I
40:57
think it's going to 2350 and and 2500 but this, this cup and
41:04
handle pattern, I mean this 13 year cup and handle pattern
41:07
which we broke out from you know a month ago or whenever it's so
41:12
beautiful. I mean this is like chart porn
41:14
for guys like me. You don't, you don't see like I
41:17
told you this and this the silver base like these will be
41:20
in technical analysis textbooks in the future because you you
41:23
don't see you know these kinds of spectacular patterns that
41:28
often. I mean there's really only, I
41:29
mean there's less than 10, yeah I can point to in the last 100
41:33
years. So this I mean and I and I think
41:36
this pattern has a measured upside target of like roughly
41:40
3000. But when you look at the, when
41:42
you look at the cup and so this is just using arithmetic, that's
41:46
how you get 3000, you know the the depth of the cup.
41:50
But when you look at the, the percentage, so it's 10:50 to you
41:54
know 2100 or you know some people use 1900.
41:57
But if we're looking at the low up to the high of the depth of
42:01
the, you know that percentage is close to 100%.
42:04
So if you take that percentage and measure it, you have AI call
42:09
it a log target. So you have a log target of
42:11
around 4000 and I looked at his, I looked at historical cup and
42:15
handles and that ones that lasted at least several years.
42:20
There's not that many of them and they're not, they're not as
42:22
pure as this gold pattern. But what I what I found in all
42:26
those patterns was they ended up going like well beyond the log
42:31
target. That's the first.
42:33
The second thing is they went from the the measured upside
42:36
which would be 3000 in this case to the log target which is 4000.
42:40
All those historical pattern, it took like 6 to 12 months to to
42:44
get to that point. So I think you know over the
42:48
next two or three years, you know if we have a recession, if
42:54
we have a downturn in the economy like we can see gold, I
42:56
mean 4000 would be my minimum target.
42:59
But I think again if we have a recession in the next couple
43:02
years, I mean we could see you know 5006 thousand gold
43:06
potentially in the next three years.
43:08
That doesn't mean I'm doing it, you know that target doesn't
43:11
mean I'm doing anything super reckless right now.
43:13
But it's just to understand that these types of patterns you know
43:16
you have 3000, you have 4000, they're they're so bullish that
43:20
they end up but market ends up going well beyond those targets.
43:25
So I think that that's what's important to understand.
43:29
I think that's you know where we're headed over the next
43:31
couple years. I mean the the the last point is
43:35
the stock market is what's holding gold back.
43:38
Now gold has been strong enough and now silver they have been
43:41
strong enough to break out even before that.
43:45
You know the economy has gone into recession officially and
43:48
you know the stock market has had this downturn.
43:50
I mean that that the strength has really surprised me.
43:53
But again, if in the next, you know year or two if we get that
43:58
downturn in the economy and we get a recession, I mean that is
44:02
going to set the stage for. Explosives.
44:05
Yes, gold and silver to make really, really explosive, but
44:08
like that's how gold moves from not just three to 4000, but
44:12
that's how gold can hit five to six I think in the next two or
44:16
three years. So that's really the missing
44:17
link right now is you still have, you still have a secular
44:22
bull in the stock market that has not broken.
44:24
And so if you, if you go to the 70s, the reason why that was so
44:28
powerful, of course there's several reasons.
44:29
But in the 70s you had a secular bear in the stock market and in
44:34
the bond market like if you look at the 2000s, you only had a
44:37
secular bear in stocks like bonds were still in a secular
44:40
bull. And so this, this bull market,
44:45
this is shaping up to be I think more similar to the 70s than the
44:49
2000s. And so the 70s you have really
44:52
explosive moves, you know, both on the upside and the downside.
44:56
And so again, once we see the stock market actually break, I
44:59
know some people think, Oh well, you know, we're going to see a
45:02
repeat of 2020 or 2008 where you know, the the metals will, you
45:06
know, precious metals will crash with the stock market.
45:08
I mean this is a whole nother conversation.
45:11
I don't see that Hap. I don't see that happening this
45:13
time especially in the next couple years.
45:15
You know, I may change my tune if something changes.
45:17
But the stock market cracking the economy going into recession
45:23
again, that is the fuel that can that can again move gold from
45:29
not only, you know 3 to 4000, but you know 5 to 6 and maybe
45:32
for maybe take silver from 50 to 100 like that could be what's
45:36
needed to really make those moves happen.
45:40
Wow, wow, Jordan, you are a super smart person.

46:42
And you know, I'm looking at smaller companies, you know, not
46:45
the Super tiny penny stocks, but you know, I'm looking at really
46:49
juniors that are not huge but they're a good established size,
46:52
you know, ones that I think can go up 5X or 10X in this bull
46:56
market. So I I talk about the things
46:59
that I'm investing in and yeah, I just go to thedailygold.com.
