- 0:46Hello, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Brett keen and you
- 0:49are watching and listening to the Brett King show.
- 0:52I hope you're all having a blessed day out there.
- 0:56Today we're going to talk about what YouTube has announced.
- 1:00Well they didn't exactly announced it yet to watch
- 1:04several other YouTube videos out there or actually be a person
- 1:08like me who goes looking around on the internet to find the
- 1:11information. YouTube is never been too good
- 1:14at letting people know what's going to happen or what's going
- 1:18on. People kind of have to tell you
- 1:20on YouTube. Well, I'm going to fill you in
- 1:23on the news, there's good news is Great news.
- 1:27And then of course, there's bad news.
- 1:30YouTube has recently decided to do a policy in which they are
- 1:35going to cut down on how many subscribers and viewers ship
- 1:39that you require in order to get monetization on YouTube.
- 1:45Now, if you look in the urn category on your YouTube
- 1:48channel, if you have YouTube channel and you have videos up
- 1:53there, if you click on iron, it's in your video.
- 1:56No manager, you're going to find that.
- 1:58Originally, they required for you to have 1,000 subscribers
- 2:02and over 4,000 views on your videos in order to be able to
- 2:07submit an application to their company, their corporation, to
- 2:12allow you to get paid through ads and commercials.
- 2:17And on top of that, it gives you the ability to be able to do
- 2:21what is called Super Chat. And apparently what this is
- 2:25while you're doing live shows Those people are able to send
- 2:29money, they can leave a comment and if they donate like a buck
- 2:3425 bucks or more, it'll put a pop up on your screen and people
- 2:40make money this way. A lot of YouTubers have made a
- 2:43lot of money from the people who love them as well as hate them,
- 2:46because sometimes people who hate you, they want you to have
- 2:50a message pop up on your screen, you know, they want to call you
- 2:53a loser or something, but they say, here's Ten bucks.
- 2:57They figured they'd spend ten bucks, just to make it to where
- 3:01everyone can publicly see that? They think you're a loser or
- 3:04something like that. So people get paid by their
- 3:07fans, their friends, as well as they're haters by doing that.
- 3:12And to me, I don't have a problem with that.
- 3:14I don't have a problem with people putting ignorant stupid
- 3:18stuff on my comments thing as long as they're willing to pay
- 3:21for it, that's my view on it. I've never I don't get my
- 3:27feelings hurt by the things that people say on YouTube.
- 3:30I've been on here for 20 years, I've had people lie about me,
- 3:34I've had people try to frame me. I've had people make up absolute
- 3:39nonsense about me that unfortunately when you're on
- 3:43social media, there's no way to really defend yourself against
- 3:47the kind of accusations and stuff people put out there.
- 3:51If somebody's got it in for you they're going to say and do
- 3:54whatever they can to make you look bad.
- 3:57A perfect example would go over to Twitter and type in your
- 4:01favorite politicians name and you're going to find out that
- 4:05there's an entire community. That will accuse that person
- 4:09that you like or respect of the most horrible things of all.
- 4:14I mean, when you read some of the things that people say about
- 4:17certain politicians out there and you know who I'm talking
- 4:20about, then the you're going to be like, whoa and of course they
- 4:25never provided any references or sources or anything like that
- 4:29but thankfully for them, a lot of the community are in Twitter
- 4:33are ignorant. Anyway.
- 4:34They don't care about what's actual fact or truth they just
- 4:37go along with it. Well, the point is that
- 4:40YouTube's change the policy and I know why they're doing it,
- 4:45even though a lot of people are celebrating and getting all
- 4:48happy, but YouTube has cut it in half, they're saying that if you
- 4:52have Subscribers, you can now get monetization, you can get
- 4:57super chat, you can get some forms of ads on your YouTube
- 5:02channel, and you're also able to connect your T-shirt or
- 5:06merchandise accounts to YouTube, and you can do membership, where
- 5:11people can join, and you can sell them videos where they can
- 5:15say, oh, I'll spend 10 bucks to watch this exclusive video.
- 5:19It's kind of like patreon a little bit me.
- 5:23I never really felt the desire to make like exclusive content
- 5:27to make people pay for it. I've also rarely have gotten
- 5:33paid through ads or anything like that on YouTube.
- 5:37Any time I ever did get monetized or I ever got any kind
- 5:41of benefit financially from YouTube.
- 5:45It was short-lived. They figure it out.
- 5:48Some kind of way I made some kind of video or said something
- 5:52that triggered the masses The corporations.
- 5:54And then I would quickly find myself taken out of it.
- 6:00I believe that YouTube one of the reasons why it did this, why
- 6:04it's saying that new users who have at least 500 subscribers
- 6:10The reason why they're saying that they're offering
- 6:12monetization. And all this I believe is
- 6:15because they plan on due to the fact that elections coming up.
- 6:20I feel as though they're going to purge a lot of conservatives
- 6:24out there. I feel like they have a plan to
- 6:27completely and utterly Wipeout. Massive amount of YouTubers.
- 6:32So they're offering this carrot to people out there who might be
- 6:36starting, they want to make sure that everybody knows what kind
- 6:40of content that they favor and what they want, and what they're
- 6:43willing to feature and I've been noticing as we Step Closer,
- 6:49they're saying that at the beginning of next month.
- 6:53They're going to allow people like me to have the ability to
- 6:57have that. However, if you make videos
- 7:02about like let's say the president of the United States
- 7:06right now or you make videos where you have profanity in it,
- 7:12they're stating that if you cuss in the first 10 seconds of your
- 7:16videos, you won't get monetized. So apparently they're going to
- 7:20look at your videos before they allow things.
- 7:24And they I know for a fact, ladies and gentlemen that
- 7:27they're running an artificial Diligence and Ai.
- 7:31And the AI is able to hear what you're actually saying.
- 7:34On the screen, it's actually able to read your transcript,
- 7:39your subtitles. Your captions is YouTube calls
- 7:42them, and it's also able to pick up the synchronicity of your
- 7:47voice and know what you're saying in it.
- 7:50And the a, I can choose of a video, should be permitted to be
- 7:54monetized or not. You probably noticed nowadays
- 7:57that whenever you upload a video It goes through a processing
- 8:01period. Now that processing used to be
- 8:04to try to help the performance and the quality of videos, but
- 8:07now it checks for copyright content before the video even
- 8:11displays Unfortunately for me, one of the rules was that I'm
- 8:18not allowed to put any copyright music or even covered Tunes up
- 8:22there. That may match a copyright if it
- 8:25even comes, close, or similar to it.
- 8:28Copyright videos will not get played and also sad to say Even
- 8:36though you may have a video up that has copyright music our
- 8:40videos on it, if the copyright holder decides at some point in
- 8:45time, they want to push a button on their channel.
- 8:50That states that they are not allowing their material or
- 8:53content to be used anymore. It can affect and impact your
- 8:57channel. You'll get a warning.
- 8:59You'll say your video has a copyright on it and has not been
- 9:04impacted because the Zur hasn't tried to fight it but basically
- 9:09what that means is user hasn't got around to saying anything
- 9:13about it, but let's say you have a video up.
- 9:15That's been up for two years and you never got in trouble for it
- 9:19before. Well, if that person decides
- 9:22that they want to start making money, well, they can or they
- 9:26don't like what your topics are about on your video, they can
- 9:30smoke you. Now, a lot of people may just
- 9:33allow a copyright video to go up.
- 9:35Because YouTube supposed to put advertisements are in it and
- 9:39then they get paid for you having their stuff are in your
- 9:43Channel. And they're really, really
- 9:46allowing a lot of that stuff to go on, but it's dangerous
- 9:50because if the person doesn't like you, they can file a
- 9:54complaint against you and then completely remove your content.
- 9:58Well, in order to keep myself out of this hellish area of
- 10:03YouTube, I decided to remove tons and tons of videos on my
- 10:07channel that have copyright content.
- 10:10I really want to try to get that monetization.
- 10:14I have enough sir. Subscribers.
- 10:16I have over 5,000 views on my channel.
- 10:19I'm more than enough have succeeded at accomplishing.
- 10:23The ability to fulfill their new policy, but I also have to
- 10:28remove videos that have and the intro, some kind of foul
- 10:32language or whatever. Now, usually my videos go on
- 10:36about 30 seconds, playing an intro before I start talking
- 10:41where there's no words or anything like that, except for
- 10:43maybe the singing, but Like I said, I had to get the copyright
- 10:47videos off of my Channel or I wouldn't have to do it.
- 10:51I recently removed over 130 videos that I knew for a fact
- 10:56would go against their policy. Now, I know what some people are
- 11:01saying, brought, why even bother trying, Why Try?
- 11:04Because you've been on here for 20 years, you've given it
- 11:07everything that you got and they always figure out a way to screw
- 11:10you, it's very possible that it whenever I apply for this.
- 11:14I'm most likely there's a good chance that I won't get it. a
- 11:20lot of conservatives like I said, and a lot of video Gamers,
- 11:25a lot of people all over YouTube who don't share in the liberal
- 11:28ideology are getting smashed, they're getting to monetize
- 11:32their getting smoked and many of them are because they don't Have
- 11:38the same experience that I have in the past.
- 11:41Some of them think that they're going to go use other
- 11:44alternative video sites. Now, I've already tried that I
- 11:47tried that 20 years ago. I tried to go use other video
- 11:51sites in the problem is I'm not saying this to insult anybody or
- 11:57hurt anybody's feelings, but when you leave YouTube, even if
- 12:01you warn people and tell people that you're leaving that, you're
- 12:05going to go to Dailymotion or rumble, or other video sites,
- 12:10for whatever reason, a lot of YouTubers will not follow along
- 12:13with you no matter how much they claim to love you, no matter how
- 12:18much they care about your content YouTubers, sad to say,
- 12:24aye, Hate to say this but they tend to be extremely lazy.
- 12:28They don't want to click on links, they don't want to go
- 12:31anywhere else. They like watching YouTube
- 12:34videos on their phone. They like being able to use apps
- 12:38and YouTube is their Church. Basically this is for some
- 12:44people it's like a religion. They commit to it and they don't
- 12:47want to be a part of any other site.
- 12:49They don't want to have to follow every YouTuber that
- 12:53decides to leave or quit anyway. Where else?
- 12:55And because of this, a lot of YouTubers have become
- 12:59demoralized. They go use in a different video
- 13:02site and then they find out that they're not even making half of
- 13:05what they used to. And a lot of these other
- 13:07websites, don't even offer the ability to get paid to do the
- 13:11work. Me, I've never had a problem in
- 13:15the past but doing free stuff I like being able to express
- 13:19myself. I like being able to say what I
- 13:21want to say. But at the same time my family
- 13:26doesn't care for you too. My son doesn't, my daughter
- 13:29doesn't my wife thinks that YouTube is a waste of time even
- 13:34though she knows that I have a good heart that I want to help
- 13:37people and I want to be able to reach out.
- 13:39I want to be able to change people's lives and get people
- 13:42thinking about. She knows just as well as I that
- 13:48a lot of people watching me, just, so they can try to degrade
- 13:52me or insult me or attack me nowadays.
- 13:55Or they're here waiting for me to do something.
- 13:58So they can report my videos and get me taken out some people do
- 14:03that. Some people will hate a person
- 14:06so much that they feel the need to subscribe to you, adding to
- 14:11your subscription, Ins. And it may seem positive to you,
- 14:16but some people subscribe to, you just simply so they can
- 14:18stalk you, so they can say insulting things.
- 14:22Every time you put up a video, some people won't even watch
- 14:25your video. They'll just simply subscribe to
- 14:27you. So, they have an opportunity to
- 14:30say something ignorant to you in the comments or insulting.
- 14:35And that's the that is the how the Beast works.
- 14:38That's the nature of the Beast on YouTube. so, I'd like to try,
- 14:47but there are some things that I'm concerned about, I
- 14:52understand that 500 subscribers is a lot for many people out
- 14:57there who don't even come close to that.
- 14:59There's some people who can't even break 10 subscribers, but
- 15:03500 subscribers when trying to do live shows is really
- 15:07difficult, especially during the summer times, believe it or not.
- 15:12A lot of people who watch us on YouTube, our young people, a lot
- 15:16older people, for whatever reason they don't bother with
- 15:19it, they Pay attention to YouTube, they don't care about
- 15:22what's going on. It's kind of a young man's game
- 15:26to do YouTube. So yeah, and there's certain
- 15:30topics that people like to hear about certain things that people
- 15:34want to talk about our, what's trending and all that.
- 15:37And I've always been one of those people where I don't care
- 15:40if something's trending. If I don't think it's
- 15:42interesting to talk about that. I'm not going to bother making a
- 15:45video about it. I don't try to make videos that
- 15:49appease the masses. Houses or try to amuse or
- 15:52entertain folks out there who have certain ideas and thoughts.
- 15:57I make videos that I know that I enjoy that.
- 15:59I actually want to talk about, but I also have to be honest
- 16:04with you, I have made some videos that I did not enjoy like
- 16:07videos where I was responding to someone who is being cruel or
- 16:11disgusting towards me. I've never in my entire life
- 16:16wanted to make videos where I'm arguing with other.
- 16:20People or trying to defend myself against someone's false
- 16:24accusations are attacks towards me.
- 16:27That's not fun. That's not entertaining.
- 16:30And it's really as far as I'm concerned out of line, I don't
- 16:35understand for the life of me, after all these years, why total
- 16:38strangers? You don't know anything about
- 16:41you. You won't even take the time to
- 16:43talk to, you feel the need to be able to demoralize or degrade
- 16:47other people on the internet. I've always had this policy that
- 16:52if you don't like what you're watching or listening, then
- 16:55don't watch. But you can't tell people that
- 16:58who suffer from mental illness. You can't tell people who suffer
- 17:02from Obsession or feel this vengeful mindset that they need
- 17:08to attack you over and over and sometimes people get that way
- 17:12because they don't like it. That you may have refuted
- 17:15another YouTuber. They don't like it when ever you
- 17:18argue and your argument is Is actually better than the person
- 17:22that they used to like. So some people go out of their
- 17:25way because they feel like they're in a gang or a cult to
- 17:28do whatever they can to dispense of you or try to stop you or
- 17:33slow you down. A lot of things have changed
- 17:37about how I do my YouTube channel and the past I used to
- 17:41be all about, okay, let's let's do Free Speech.
- 17:45Let's let people say whatever they want.
- 17:47What people Express themselves. If they don't like something
- 17:51then learn from it, take the criticism and then go with it.
- 17:55But some people go Way Beyond the realm of criticism and they
- 17:59go into personal attacks and get really, really ignorant and no
- 18:03matter how much you rationalize But then you can't get through
- 18:06it. This is a problem that YouTube
- 18:09has had for a long time Iowa. I am one of a million people out
- 18:14there who are suffering. Exactly the same thing due to
- 18:17YouTube's allowing people to do this.
- 18:21Now, there's some catches to doing this new monetization
- 18:24thing. Folks, if you're interested, if
- 18:27you do do it, you can be held accountable for the comments
- 18:32that people leave on your video. If you do a live show, Show and
- 18:36somebody out in the comments starts using profane language or
- 18:40add homs, or using words that trigger the AI, this can
- 18:46actually harm your Channel. So you're going to have to run
- 18:53it more like a compound kind of basically like an army base.
- 18:57You can't let people do that kind of thing or they're going
- 19:00to be knocking your channel down or hurting your ability to
- 19:04monetize yourself. You have to actually learn how
- 19:07to use the block button. You have to learn how to if
- 19:11someone is saying things to you that are disrespectful and
- 19:15they're not trying to actually have a peaceful conclusion.
- 19:18Out of it. They're just wanting to harm you
- 19:21verbally, mentally or physically.
- 19:23You have to actually remove that.
- 19:26Are the AI is going to trace all these different comments.
- 19:30Now sure that person might go down if other people report it
- 19:35but as long as it sits on your channel, it's something that
- 19:39advertisers don't want to participate in.
- 19:42They don't want to be in, do you're going to have to think
- 19:45about it. You care more about allowing
- 19:48people to To insult the hell out of you all day, or do you care
- 19:51about actually getting paid and actually have a YouTube channel
- 19:55that survives because they can hurt you by doing what they're
- 19:59doing. And I know what some people say
- 20:02is, well, I want people to be able to say whatever they want.
- 20:06I want them to be able to respond and some people have it
- 20:10in their head that The more comments I get eaten bad or
- 20:14good, it's good retention for them and that's true but it
- 20:19doesn't really matter if you're looking to actually make a
- 20:21business out of this. Are you trying to survive on
- 20:24your channel? YouTube can get rid of your
- 20:28video. If you allow hate speech on your
- 20:31own comments board, that's what they call it hate, speech.
- 20:35Basically anything that annoys them are upsets them.
- 20:39Now, true. There's this kind of unfair
- 20:44thing that everybody knows about that.
- 20:46If you're a conservative liberals, tend to get away with
- 20:50murder, they can say, and do whatever they want in their
- 20:52videos and on comments. And they never seem to get
- 20:55consequences for it. But if you're a conservative or
- 20:59you have a different ideology about things and you respond in
- 21:04a hardcore way or get kind of nasty back with them basically
- 21:09get dirty with the swine. And you'll pay for it.
- 21:17So, it's good news and bad news. I believe that YouTube plans
- 21:21aren't getting rid of a lot of the old guard on YouTube.
- 21:26And it makes me sad because I've seen a lot of atheist friends as
- 21:32well as religious friends out there leave YouTube over this
- 21:37and whenever they went to Alternative websites and realize
- 21:40that Their audience didn't follow them and that they were
- 21:44pretty much starting all over again.
- 21:47That they weren't getting paid anymore.
- 21:49They weren't getting any kind of viewership.
- 21:52A lot of them just said the hell with it and they went to find
- 21:55other things in their life that they could do.
- 21:58In order to have success or be financially, earn financially
- 22:04that they couldn't do these videos sites.
- 22:08I've seen thousands of atheists and religious people leave
- 22:11YouTube. And YouTube is not quite the
- 22:15place. Used to be where you can talk
- 22:17about anything and everything on your mind and be able to have
- 22:20good conversations as far as I'm concerned.
- 22:24I like the idea of live chat, but I realized that even if I'm
- 22:28given the Super Chat, the monetization at this point, I'm
- 22:32still low on the rung of YouTube.
- 22:35It means that whenever I open Rooms.
- 22:38A lot of you that are watching me and listening you won't even
- 22:43come in to be able to have conversations from time to time.
- 22:47I get lucky and I get some of my old friends, it'll show up, and
- 22:51then I'm able to carry on a two-hour show because we can
- 22:55talk back and forth about a lot of different things.
- 22:58But even my buddy, he's find themselves talking about a lot
- 23:02of the same things that they talked about before, we'll talk
- 23:04about the universe will talk about God.
- 23:07Times will have a conversation about a video game or a
- 23:10philosophy. I've noticed a lot of people in
- 23:13my life shows, they're not really interested in hearing
- 23:16about my personal life, my videos where I talk my solo
- 23:19videos, where I talk about my personal life.
- 23:22Lot of people like it, they want to know about me.
- 23:27But they don't really want to get into a conversation about
- 23:31personal life, unless it has to do with drama and social media.
- 23:36And that's no fun, that's not exciting, and it definitely
- 23:40won't help the channel. Be able to go anywhere after
- 23:42that. So, that's where we're at.
- 23:46I believe there's a Great Purge going on on YouTube and there's
- 23:50especially going to be a massive decline of YouTubers as the
- 23:55election approaches. The reason why that is, is
- 24:00because a lot of you are very passionate about your politics
- 24:04and your views. Many of you are going to want to
- 24:07make videos expressing your opinion.
- 24:10And why it is that you think that the person that you want
- 24:13voted in is going to get voted in and why others should not and
- 24:18this Corporation has a leaning towards liberalism and the
- 24:22Democrats. So they're going to knock down a
- 24:26lot of people and they know it. I think they're setting up for
- 24:29Or it. And that's the reason why they
- 24:31decided to lower the monetization rate because they
- 24:35know they're going to need a new incline of people.
- 24:38Basically a bunch of new YouTubers to migrate.
- 24:41Give them the incentive, the carrot to come here and start
- 24:45making videos as they're cleaning out all the
- 24:48undesirables as they call it. I'm going to find out at the
- 24:56beginning of next month. If I'm an undesirable, I'm going
- 25:00to know for sure if YouTube rejects my ability to get paid,
- 25:05then it means that they have no interest in me being on their
- 25:09site as well as many others. And I've been thinking for a
- 25:14long time, about I'm really enjoying doing my radio station,
- 25:19I really like it and I've come really far on the A radio, a lot
- 25:24of people listen, a lot of people watch my videos on it and
- 25:28I'm really, really pleased with the conclusion of what's been
- 25:32happening with my radio. So I probably wouldn't want to
- 25:36quit on that anytime soon. But as far as YouTube goes, to
- 25:41be honest with you, ladies and gentlemen, unless they monetize
- 25:45me and they make it official that I'm a channel that can
- 25:49actually improve. I don't see any real point in
- 25:53sticking around, I don't see a point in continuing to do live
- 25:57shows and put all this time into it because when I T 2 to 3 hours
- 26:03on YouTube doing a live show that's three hours, I could have
- 26:07been spinning with my family or my children or people I love A
- 26:12my family of course, is not gonna understand brought.
- 26:16Why are you doing a three-hour video with people and you're not
- 26:19even get paid for why are you making all this content?
- 26:23And you're not even, it's not helping our family, it's not
- 26:26paying our bills and all this kind of stuff.
- 26:29It this is are some things that my family and I have been
- 26:32discussing in the background, a lot of my family see.
- 26:36YouTube is nothing more than a place of firing range where I go
- 26:40to, so people, Can you know, basically vomit all over me and
- 26:46and try to tear me down and my confidence and all that.
- 26:51My family does not see it as a as a place that is healthy or
- 26:59good or beneficial financially in any kind of way.
- 27:05So this is kind of like my last chance hotel.
- 27:08I have everything that is required.
- 27:11I've removed every video on my channel that could get me into
- 27:15trouble. And I'm willing to go forward,
- 27:19trying to do videos that are interesting videos that I care
- 27:23about and that you care about and you live shows But if it's
- 27:30not going to go anywhere, then there's no point in continuing.
- 27:34I can't continue to look my family in the face and say,
- 27:37yeah, this is a hobby worth even bothering with Because it's not,
- 27:44it really isn't. I like I love that.
- 27:47Whenever I hear about people changing their views of their
- 27:51ideas or even saying this is something what you said, really
- 27:56changed my life. I love hearing about how people
- 28:00stopped being a skeptic and started getting into believing
- 28:04in a higher power. I get comments like that and I
- 28:08get stuff for my Facebook and emails all the time and that's
- 28:11wonderful. And that's one of the reasons I
- 28:13stuck around. But something has to change and
- 28:18I really hope these new policies help us and they're not just
- 28:23strictly meant to just wipe out a bunch of folks.
- 28:30We'll see what happens, ladies and gentlemen.
- 28:33Well I hope you enjoyed the video and I hope that if you
- 28:36have over 500 subscribers that you have success, I hope that
- 28:41you're able to connect. I'm just telling you about some
- 28:44of my personal experiences and what I've had to go through.
