Former Rep. Elliott Pritt, jailed on federal charges of grooming a minor, has officially withdrawn from the November election — and thanks to new state law, Republicans can’t replace him on the ballot. The GOP distanced itself from Pritt, calling his actions unacceptable, and even questioned whether the replacement rule should be revisited.
