- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the Coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, happy Sunday morning.
- 0:30And you can hear how loud the girls are right now.
- 0:34And there you go. There is one of our Roosters who
- 0:38loves to just go off Hulk Hogan. And Harry's going to do it again
- 0:43in a second. Him and Rufus are both coming
- 0:45running in at the same time every time I walk out here
- 0:48anyway. So listen to those girls how
- 0:50loud they are right now in any event.
- 0:53OK today we are talking about manipulation by fear and this is
- 0:58a really interesting concept to dive into because most of us
- 1:02don't think we are manipulated by fear and don't even realize
- 1:07how it's around us constantly. Now just this morning since I
- 1:11woke up Sunday morning, slept in.
- 1:13Don't normally do that, but spent a lot of hours yesterday
- 1:18looking at schools with my son for college programs.
- 1:21I was mentally exhausted, slept in, came out here and knew I was
- 1:25going to record on the morning because, you know, and now I
- 1:27have time for the sun to come up.
- 1:29Don't have sessions today. And I clicked on to see what the
- 1:32weather was so I could wash my truck.
- 1:35Simple thing, turn the weather on.
- 1:37Now, I don't like to use the app always because it's not accurate
- 1:41here because we're so close to the ocean.
- 1:43So sometimes it just is wrong in our little bubble of an area.
- 1:47And there's a local weather station on the news that does a
- 1:50really excellent job of it. So I just clicked it on and in
- 1:55the in the few minutes that I was making my tea and justice
- 1:59hearing this, the number of TV commercials that were all fear
- 2:03based. It doesn't really blow my mind,
- 2:06but it blew my mind. And then I start looking at, OK,
- 2:09how many other things are they constantly telling us?
- 2:12You know, we are all getting older.
- 2:14We all know that that is not a, you know, new news to us.
- 2:17We have a clue that's always happening.
- 2:20But how they prey on that, how they prey on fear, how they prey
- 2:24on what you don't have. And then the news kicks in and
- 2:27they're talking about, which I thought was ironic was the egg
- 2:29prices and how they're like going through the roof.
- 2:32And I have all these chickens and all these other things that
- 2:35are just 1234567891011121415161719 spots
- 2:45in a matter of get this 17 minutes that I could tell you.
- 2:49I timed it that we're fear based plugs seeds that were dropped
- 2:55into your heads. So here it's just like planting
- 2:57a garden. Here I am going out and what am
- 2:59I planting? The the soil is fertile.
- 3:01It's early in the morning. OK, it's very early.
- 3:05Sun just came up Sunday morning. Everyone's relaxed.
- 3:09I'm air quoting that because we should be, but how could we be
- 3:12with all this? And if you had this station on
- 3:1619 times in 17 minutes, there were tiny seeds.
- 3:23Now, have you ever seen a lettuce seed?
- 3:26OK, you can barely see the seed of a lettuce.
- 3:28It is like the teeniest, tiniest thing it actually is, like so
- 3:33small it looks like just a flake of pepper.
- 3:35They're so teeny tiny. And I always say, Can you
- 3:38imagine? This is what blows my mind, that
- 3:40that little teeny seed turns into something Absolutely
- 3:43Fabulous and delicious to eat. But guess what?
- 3:46Those little tiny seeds that they were planting turns into
- 3:49something horrific, turns into something that you start to
- 3:53become afraid to get older. Let's just take one basic
- 3:56subject. Afraid to get older and many
- 3:59people are they just don't talk about it because it it seems
- 4:03silly or they seem like if oh, I don't want to think about it, I
- 4:05don't want to think about it and they just move on.
- 4:08Instead of just saying I'm going to reframe my definition of
- 4:11this, whatever the subject is, I'm just using older for one
- 4:14thing. It could be anything but
- 4:16reframing it and saying I'm going to plant good seeds that
- 4:20are things that are going to come up and it doesn't matter
- 4:23how small that seed is, it can turn into something fabulous.
- 4:27IE my example of the lettuce seed, I mean, it's like nothing.
- 4:32It's like a little tiny. You can barely see them.
- 4:35In fact, when I go to plant seeds in the garden, I
- 4:37purposefully buy them in a way that's called pelleted, where
- 4:40they coat them. And I'll be doing a video to
- 4:43show everybody about this because it's so fascinating.
- 4:45But and it also gives them a really good chance of not
- 4:49getting, you know, moved around in the soil so that your lettuce
- 4:51is all wonky all over the place because you can't see it.
- 4:53But in any event, I don't want to digress on seeds like that.
- 4:57The seeds I'm talking about are these seeds of fear.
- 5:00So I'm going to ask everybody to do a little assignment that I
- 5:04think would be amazing. If you are inclined, sit down
- 5:08and look at how many times a day fear is presented to you.
- 5:12Not that you accept it, but how many times it's presented to you
- 5:15to realize and understand what is going on behind the scenes,
- 5:18my friend, because someone is always trying to move you
- 5:21through fear. And the reason for that is we as
- 5:24human beings are designed to seek out, we will do more to
- 5:29avoid pain than we will to get pleasure.
- 5:32Most of us like that is like a hardcore rule, most of us.
- 5:36But you can condition yourself for the other way, for that way
- 5:40of waiting, for the way of putting yourself into the
- 5:44position of saying, gosh, I'm willing to wait.
- 5:46Because this thing with fear is everywhere.
- 5:50It's everywhere, so do yourself a favor, give yourself a break
- 5:54and see there. Just check and see how many
- 5:57times you're presented with it because I promise you, you'll be
- 6:00shocked. All right, my friends, I hope
- 6:03you have a blessed day and really relax.
- 6:06I know I'm going to, and I hope you have a fabulous, wonderful
- 6:10day. Bye.
