- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Time for the 49ers Rush Podcast.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: and here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: What is going on, faithful?
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: It is so good to be with you guys today.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: It is Thursday, time for the coach approach by week edition, and how are we doing now?
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing good.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad it was a by week.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: I actually got sick early here in the week.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: My voice was all over the place.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: So no recording on Monday and I was like,
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how I'm going to do, but I'm getting out of it already.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like the 49ers.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of coming back out of the buy week, a tough weekend.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: And now, getting to a part where the 49ers are looking pretty good as they are enjoying some time.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen George Kittle out watching some hockey and, you know, you got Brandon Cook's flying and hair plane and doing all that and it's just a, it's kind of one of those times where you get to reset and take a look at everything and 49ers, they're not sitting back either.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: John Lynch is making some moves.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I like it.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's a good time, John.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good time to be a 49er fan and it's kind of nice to be able to sit back this weekend and watch some football and not have to worry about whether the 49ers are going to get a big winner or not man.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: I I'm excited about this weekend.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's just going to be hopefully a hateful like a successful hate watch Sunday, you know what I mean, just like relax and you're rooting against some of the teams and see how that goes shout out to all the hashtag CCs and hashtag TCCs.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: through changes.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, I won't do that again.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: But I love it.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: And man, right off the bat, like for those of you, maybe huge trade in the NFL.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the 49ers got to force Buckner, but you had chefter and you had rapper port and Carafolo say the bears actually offered more to get the force Buckner, but the shantyhand loyalty program is always undefeated.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: People want to play
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: took less to come here.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: Then they go out and trade two first plus for Jeffrey Simmons.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: I was kind of shocked.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: Simmons was on the trade block, but that kind of tells me that the quarterback there is not the guy.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of shocked.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: They're still with Robert solid to be honest with you.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts just on the Jeffrey Simmons trades two first and a fourth rounder goes to the bears.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody loves to trenches more than Ben Johnson.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that was a lot, right?
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: And they just gave Jeffrey Simmons a new contract.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: Three years, 105 million dollars.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: So not only are you paying him that big amount of money, but then you're giving up all that draft capital.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was a big move.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: And you got to tip your cap to the bears.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: They're going all in.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're saying, hey, we look at the landscape of the NFC.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: And we think we're one of the top dogs.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if you look at Seattle, the 49ers, and then Chicago Bears, all of them have sickled right now.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: and we can get to the Super Bowl.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: Jeffrey Simmons is one of the best in the business.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if not the best in the business, what it comes to playing defensive tackle, that's why they had to invest so highly in getting him.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's an impact player and that's going to make that defense a lot better.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Unless beyond the Chicago Bears defense needed to get a lot better.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a great defense over there.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think it worked out well for the 49ers.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't have to mortgage the future.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: They got a really good player in the forest buckler that fits the culture.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a really good player with how he's going to be user-reheemores the system.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think the bears, they got what they wanted to.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: And how is that going to bite them in the butt on the future?
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: It might.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: We'll find out.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I think for the 49ers, I think they're still happy with what they got.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to sit back and be like, man, I wish we would have gave up two first for Jeffrey Simmons.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that they're OK with how this thing worked out.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: I like that.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: Look at this Rob Louter.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's got his own hash tag ladies and gentlemen.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's how big he is.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Hashtag C-A-H-T. That's the coach approach.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: Hat tip.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: You stud you.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: You stud right back at you.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: Right here.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, PLP?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: I had such a good time in Atlanta, even with the loss.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: It was amazing.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad my friend is now part of the faithful.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, we were incorporating, bringing in, stealing fans from other places, giving them Niners jerseys, making them apart, it was a good time, just the game, maybe not so much.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: Tray, thank you for the super chat.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_02]: You may have already answered, but who makes the bigger impact for their team?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: Defoe for the Hawks or the Hawks New Guard.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: So also you're incredible human being and you too.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Tray.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, who's the bigger Quentin Nelson or the Forest Buckner?
- 4:56[SPEAKER_02]: Tip the skills, yay, nay.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: What's the side?
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think it kind of evens out a little bit now.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: The Seattle Seox really needed that.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: Their interior offensive line wasn't very good.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: And their running back situation has been bad with the injuries at the position.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: So they needed an influx of talent.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think it puts Grace able in a better situation.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, now they're dealing with an injury to cross.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how that kind of materializes for that line.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the force, Buckner, gives the 49ers an extra interior presence.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that this one evens out is going to be a lot of fun to see you know who wins in these battles.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: These are teammates who have win against each other as well.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: So they're going to know each other strengths and weaknesses, so I'm looking forward to some of these matchups, but I do I feel I thought that it was a great move by Seattle.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: They needed to make a move on the offensive line and then you look at the 49ers they need to make a move on the defensive line.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it balances out, but at first I did think that quit Nelson going to Seattle was going to be a huge advantage for them, but I think the force buck that are kind of made things better for the 49ers.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know what it's crazy is this week the bears and seahawks play like so Jeffrey Simmons verse quitting Nelson this week both guys get a trade and then you've got quit Nelson playing against the forest buckner and we 12.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, of course, Seattle's coming off of a buy to play a division game because the NFL is the NFL.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: Of course they're going to do that against the Niners because of course they're going to do that against the 49ers.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's what it is now right here, Mucky says, do you think the 49ers would have got defo if they want to get some land in Atlanta assuming, you know, and when they were able to get to Phoenix the time or two.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think they're still trying to
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: you have some glaring weaknesses in the three, I don't know what I'll say, yeah, three of the most important positions, you know, you talk wide receiver, defense attack will defensive end.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: This is huge.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think it's so much of an indictment against the defensive attack room.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: It was just a lack of star depth.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_02]: You've got a lot of young promising players that have played up to the level you wanted them to.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: But rookie regressions are real thing, and even though Smash Valdez isn't a rookie,
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: like you're starting to see that.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's coming off as least effective game, Grayson Hall to come off as least effective game.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: James Thompson Jr. probably had the best game of the young pubs, but like you need a little bit more veteran leadership in that room.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: Osa has the leadership, but I thought Osa's coming off his worst game as well.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: So you bolster that and when you look at vet first young players, consistency is the
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: How do you interpret if the 49ers would have won against the Rams would they still have gotten that trade done?
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, absolutely.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: They're still gonna make this trade no matter what.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: John Lynch was looking to bolster the defensive line.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: He does it every single trade season.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: Every trade deadline.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: They're looking for somebody that can help this football team.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: The force buttoners, the perfect guy.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's been double-teamed over 36% of his snaps, especially in the first month of the season.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: That means if you're doubling him, you're freeing up OSA for one-on-one looks.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna be freeing up Nick Bosa potentially for one-on-one looks.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: and that's ultimately what they're trying to do.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: They're always trying to get some unique looks.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: I also thought that would you watch the game film against Atlanta.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: You've seen a little bit of a lack of athleticism from a James Thompson Jr., where it came to some of the stunts and things like that, putting the force buckler in there, you elevate your athleticism to another level, where now you can run some of those games up front.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's going to be extremely difficult for teams, but
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: Buckner's ability to penetrate.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to make things easier on OCD.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to make things easier on Grace and Holden and once all their snaps are coming down, I think you're going to see better production from all them as part of the rotation.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm a huge fan of this move.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think John Lynch would have done it a thousand times over because not just the player to force Buckner, but the human being to force Buckner inserted into that locker room.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's come with a lot of juice and a lot of energy that will help push them the rest of the way.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: Look at this, Joe coded sweet and hot, I love it, and has the best intro on YouTube.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: He has all the ball knowledge, understands the seller cap, too.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's nearly impossible to find a guy that understands it all like it.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna say, dude, one of the best humans I've met.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: One of the coolest families I've met, come on Joe, we got to step up.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: Our analysis here, and I'm just joking, Joe, you are the man.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you, hype it up, ant.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: We love them.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody go check out 49ers cut back because, man, he's just that awesome.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: Scott coming in with a super chat.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: looking at games post by many had pencil in a loss to kids a city but after Kansas City was terrible last week against Seattle how do you see the game against kids a city coming up so just to update the schedule you don't play the chiefs until after Christmas week 17 you are 10 or yes nine weeks away theoretically because now we're in week eight nine weeks away
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: week 16 for the Kansas City Chiefs does the fact that they look so inept against that Seattle defense change anything for you or is that still I mean, Cheney Hans never won against the chief he's he's oh and five in his career.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it changes anything.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think that you look at that match of an anti-read still there, right?
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: Steve Spagnola still there.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: What they do has been a little bit of a problem for Kyle Shanahan.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: And it'll be a fun matchup to see how the 49ers go in there.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: But they're going to be looking George Kittle, Fred Warner, they're looking to exercise some demons when they play the cancer.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Steve said, this house is clear.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to get in there and get it done because
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: You just haven't been able to beat them and that's it was kind of like Seattle, you know at the beginning of the year you had to get that win against Seattle to prove like you know what we can beat this Seattle team and I think that would go a long way for the chiefs now what is the what is the situation going to look like for the chiefs are they going to be fighting for you know the number one seed in the playoffs are the 49ers going to be pushing for that there could be a lot of.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: interesting byproducts of this game.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: But overall, I think the 49ers are going to want to win.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to want to prove to everybody that they can be the chiefs, but more so prove to themselves that they can beat the chiefs.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a motivation there.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's going to be a fun one.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be a big game.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: But that's way later on down the road.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: And what the funny part is, 49ers might be able to seal a number one seed winning that game.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that would make the Arizona game a little bit less exciting if that was the happen.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: If that's if the 49ers can continue to win the way they're going to win.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a long ways away, but that is something I'm sure that they're hoping they can do is kind of seal it in that game.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: Shane, he agrees with the United Skinning the number one seed equals Super Bowl with Shani.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: It would be nice not to
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, for the team that has traveled the most in the NFL by a wide margin, stuff, international game on the schedule, Mexico City will be there for an air source road trip.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: Check that out.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: Now, this is what I was wondering too.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: I was wondering if the exercise to demon was Ace Ventura or were you doing the poultry guys, like which one were you were you doing Ace Ventura doing the poultry guys or poultry guys, which what was the reference
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: You can't get past Jim Carrey, you know, he's just like such an overractor.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: I love it, you know, but yeah, I mean, I've seen the pulter guys.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's it's a good movie, but yeah, the Ace Ventura doing the pulter guys is just this house is clear, you know, he just gets all into I love it.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's one of my it's one of those movies that I don't know why it's it's funny, but it is it's hilarious.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to rewatch.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's so like over the top, but yeah, you find yourself just laughing continuously.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah, I'm with you.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: Dell right here thinks they're super chat.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: Bears went all in.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get the Niners to go all in as well.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: Niners have down to six draft picks.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit different roster analysis salary cap analysis for the bears.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: and the 49ers, where do you sit on f-dim picks, go all in right now, sacrifice, whatever, do what you got to do versus man.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: You have some sustainable success here with the young quarterback in Kyle Shanninghand.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: How do you analyze the approach the 40 hours need to take 12 days before the trade deadline?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think there's a fine line between going all in and then sacrificing the future.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think the 40s have always kind of been able to find that nice little happy balance of being able to go all in, but not all the way in and eth those picks as, you know, the rams have done and others have done, but I think that, you know, some of the comments from some of the players, I think signal that this team is looking to go all in.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think they believe the Force Buckner is one of those moves that kind of puts you over the top.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I think John Lynch is still looking and I think if the right situation comes, it'll be a player that can help him now and later.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the Force Buckner is a rental.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's a guy that you could get right now.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: There's no guarantees he comes back.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: You think they would love him to be on this football team.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the next one if they had to make a move, it's either going to be somebody that takes less draft capital, something fifth round pick or lower.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's someone big, it's going to be somebody that's going to be here for a couple of years at least.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think if they make that move, it's going to be an investment.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now the helps put them over the top, but an investment in the future, that's why when you start talking about young, wide receivers, they make sense if they have multiple years left on their contract.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: So that way you can pair them with Brock Perty for the foreseeable future.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and man right here for the striking gold podcast stud.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: He said question.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: I just posed to K. P. copozy legend in himself.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: The jets will give you Garrett Wilson for the Jeffrey Simmons deal.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: Do you do it?
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: Garrett Wilson falls into that latter kind of definition of some of that could be with you for a long time.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's got five years.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's under contract.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: He has a top 10 wide receiver in the NFL in my opinion can play all three wide receiver spots like you can put a bad Z with Mike Evans and when Mike Evans is done, you can move them to X.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: He works with Stripley works with Dway Works with everybody.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: That dude is the one of the most position.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: list wide receivers in the NFL.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: Would you do two first and a fourth?
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's a little too price.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: I said I do a first in a second.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: I might do like a first a second of fourth.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I could do two ones and a fourth.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: You're the general manager.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't give two first and a fourth.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: No, I wouldn't.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think that even a first and a second, I get it to me.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, this has got to be a talent that you know is going to put you over the top.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: If you could guarantee the 40 years we're going to win the Super Bowl, because they have Garrett Wilson lining up out there.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: Then I think you're more willing to sign up.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't, I don't know for sure that's going to happen.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: And so for me, that's a little
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: But I would be willing to give up a first round pick for Garrett Wilson, especially if it was a 2028 first round pick.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you could give them a second this year and a first in 2028, I think that would be more.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: More I'd be more willing to kind of entertain that offer because.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: I know twenty twenty seven first-round picks are important this year and I think that's where the 49ers can recoup some of their draft capital trade out of the first round into the second like they did last year get a couple extra picks and replenish.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's still be able to hit a really impressive draft with some key players that can help build this team still in the future.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I want them so bad.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a big gear Wilson guy.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: I just can't go over, I can't do the two firsts, and so if they're saying we're sitting at two firsts, I think I would say no.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I could do a first, a second, a fourth.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's the best I could do.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I'd be okay, give it up to 2027 first.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: Because his skillset matches perfect with Brock Party.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: He is a space creator, versatile endbreakers, outbreakers.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's where he excels.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: He can do it all.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: Press slot, motions, jet sweeps, you name it.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: Hands are great, routes are great.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: Timings great.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, man, but I'm gonna say it just like Jeffrey Simmons.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why that team would do that I don't know why they would they already have three first round picks three top 11 first round picks in this upcoming draft It's a lot Lori coming through here.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna let you take this one in
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Depending on what happens this weekend, there would be more players becoming available before the trade deadline.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Do the Niners make a move now or wait?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, I think this is a situation, John, where I think that they can wait.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they made a move already for the Forest Buckner.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: And now you can wait and see what happens with teams like the Houston Texans and others that are kind of on that fringe of trying to decide if they're still in this or not You know, it might push a team like Tampa Bay out even though I think Tampa Bay is going to probably stay in this till the bitter end But I think that there is an opportunity to wait and there be more players available that could be interesting You know, all of a sudden just New Orleans decide that they're going to move off a Chris Alave or somebody like that if they if a big time deal comes their way because I'm sure they would like to add more
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: uh talent to that football team, and I think he's an interesting player as well.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure they want to keep him, but we just prove in Jeffrey Simmons, we thought he was untouchable.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: That contract, that player, there's no one untouchable.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: The right price for everyone.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, it's like the million dollar man, Ted D. B. Aussie said, everybody's got a price, right?
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: And that's just how it is.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think that everyone does have a price, and I think that more players are going to become available.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, a get back to the whole Garrett Wilson thing, Rob says KPs reply would do it without blinking.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: KP knows what he's talking about and I'm sure there are other general managers that would do that without blinking as well.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a hard one and, you know, I'm getting the, you know, teams interested in Mac Jones.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trading Mac Jones unless I get a top 50 pick because I'm so all in on this year.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: kind of done.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: So that insurance premium that is there, the 49ers are not getting any compensation picks this year.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: None in return.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_02]: So you're low.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: You're at six picks already.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_02]: If you trade match zones for a top 50 picks, sure, I would do that because that would allow me you need to do that before the trade deadline.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, then you could use a third or a fifth and go get another player and offset that.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_02]: That would be great.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: But when match zones leaves next year,
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to be getting a fourth round 20, 28 comp pick in return because he's going to get paid by somebody to pair up with one of these rookie quarterbacks.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_02]: It used every team in the NFL does this now.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: The cousins, men do the pairing.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of what Matt Jones is going to be in there.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not trading Matt Jones unless I get a top 50 pick or an impact player that could help me for this year next year, minimum, minimum, your thoughts on Matt Jones being on
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, ant froze.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's back.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's back.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's back.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think when it comes on.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: and folders for saying this, but I wouldn't trade him.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think that you look at the situation with him and what he could be and that if something happens at Brock Perti and we've seen Mac Jones do it already.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's been able to keep the 49ers legitimate and being able to win football games.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: We saw last year and if something happened to Brock and he was out for a two or three game stretch, Mac Jones could keep the 49ers relevant for the rest of the season.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think keeping Matt Jones isn't all in move.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you were looking at the future, you would trade him away, but they're kind of looking at keeping him to make sure something happens that you got a guy that can get it done.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I think they keep Matt Jones.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: I also think that what Matt Jones brings in that locker room, the levity and the way that a lot of the players really like him.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's good.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think it keeps Brock pretty kind of comfortable.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: Keep some kind of, you know, Brock can get really serious and he kind of keeps him, you know, a little bit loose.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that's really good for that room.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's really good for this locker room in general.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think if the 49ers have their way, if he wasn't too expensive, they would keep him as long as he'd be willing to stay.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's how much they like Mac Jones.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you there.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I will say this.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: Something else I like.

- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go mybookie.ag promo code 49ers.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: shout out to Dale, uh, company with the super chances.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: Brock is a different animal with the real number one x y. I'm going to say Kyle Shanahan is a different animal.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: You look through the history, whether it's Josh Gordon in Cleveland, you talk about Andre Johnson, Julio Jones.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's been so many places where if he has a legitimate number one x y receiver, that offense is
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: And it's almost like dude I look at this and I'm like well, maybe I would give up two first like the more I talk about Garrett Wilson, which I'm not sure he is available, but I'm just like gosh, there's not that many x wide receiver game changers that are ever that ever hit the market.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, yeah, yeah, talk to us just about how important the x is as opposed to all the other wide receiver positions for Brock and Shannon.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it opens things up, you know, and one of the things that's a shane hand staple, whether it was Mike shane and a Kyle shane in is the run game.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the running game can really be effective when you have that X receiver that can stretch to field vertically.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: That gets to safety's a little bit deeper and allows you to get a little bit extra yard.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: So it changes some of the angles on the blocking.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of impact having that X, but also it slants the defense at times.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you have to slant somebody over the top that frees up some of those in breakers that he loves to hit those ones that Debo used to catch over the middle and take off You know, and get big time yard at some time to the house So it really opens up this offense and when Kyle's offense really takes off and you see with Andre Johnson, Julio Especially is what they can run those deep come backers to those 18 yard break in breakers That he can get the ball out and so there's a lot of things they do with these X receivers
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle's had like one legitimate X receiver in San Francisco and that was Brandon I you can you know Mike Evans is just even a bigger threat because of the body, uh, the respect that defenses give.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that he's just even a bigger weapon than that.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, if you could add a Garrett Wilson somebody that could impact, uh, this football team, I love it.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think that you never want to say no to talent, right?
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: There's never too much talent on a football team.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: You can find ways to get people to football at Garrett Wilson's the best in the NFL right now
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: What if teams like to do sometimes against the four years go man coverage and kind of swallow them up can't do that if you have Garrett Wilson to Mike Evans.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: So that's something to remember.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then down the road, December, uh, Deja on Stripling comes back and then you really got some vertical issues there for other teams.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: So it would be a big move.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: it was signal all in.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm down for it.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Just are the jets going to be willing to trade them away without being blown away by a deal and with John Lynch really pulled the trigger after what happened with trail ants on a big time blockbuster move like that.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: to, I like it.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: Scott, appreciate you, Maddie said, if this is one of your favorite clubs, put a one in the chat.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, look at this.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: Number one, if it's your number one collab, why not?
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: I get so many positive comments.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever I go on these Rush Road trips to meet people and, you know, people are so kind and supportive, but they're like, too, really like coach approach.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: That Thursday shows my favorite, get it a lot.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: So you are stud, appreciate the kind words, Scott, Dale coming in here.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: Look at our realistic table of players ageing out.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: If not now, when we are old, you do whatever this year to win now.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: Now, when I push back on this deal, I remember people saying the window was closing in 2019.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_02]: I remember people saying the window was closing in 2023.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: I remember people saying the window was closed in 2024.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: Only for last year to go 12 and 5 in this year have the most wins in the entire NFL at this point in the season.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: I would argue,
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: As long as you have Kyle Shanahan and Brock Perty, the window is going to stay open.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: I truly do believe Kyle Shanahan is that could have a head coach.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: When he has a quality DC and a quarterback that runs his scheme,
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see, now the window is definitely open now.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not arguing against that.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: I do want to pursue more talent.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: I want to push.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: I am not sacrificing the future to accomplish that this year.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: I actually think with the youth and the way you drafted the last two years, you've got a pretty damn good stable coming up.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, try to win the Super Bowl.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: Do what you can, but don't overpay.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: Don't overpay, don't overpay.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: You interpret this comment here.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that, you know, you could easily push all the chips in the table and say, hey, this is going to be the year, we've got an aging trip Williams and aging Fred Warner and George Kittle at some of those key veteran players.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: But I think you, you can do a little bit of both, right?
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: This is that happy medium that John Lynch finds is where you make these moves like the force button.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: And there's probably another move to be made, whether that's a collil Mac or an edge player or to wide receiver, you feel you can put you over the top on offense.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: There's some moves that can be made that aren't going to sacrifice the future.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the good news for the 49ers, they've drafted so good over the last couple of years that they have an influx of young, young talent.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: They've got the next batch, hopefully of stars that are going to help take this team to the next level.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: But you hit the nail right on the head, John, when you said, as long as they have couch hitting and they have proc perty, this window is going to be open.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we've seen this with several teams.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what happened with the 49ers with Bill Walsh.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: groupings of people and veterans that were helping that team, you know, you went out of the Randy crosses and those group of guys, you know, into the next stable of guys and you're going to see that happen with the 49ers at some point.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm hoping though, and that's why it would be willing to make a big blockbuster move is so George Kittle, Trent Williams, and Fred Warner.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: get their super bowl that they have been working so hard for and I feel like they deserve.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I think John Lynch wants to do that as well.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I think John Lynch and Kyle Shannon, they want this more than anything.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: This valuable, everything they've done over the last 10 years.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: They want this super bowl.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_01]: But John Lynch knows that it's important to stay, kind of in the mix every single year.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's important for this football team.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: The trick is, it's not the window that opens or closes, but rather you yourself.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: And when you realize that there is no window, then it can be achieved.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_02]: Whoa, there is no window.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, that's like my horrible matrix, whatever.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: There is no spoon.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, awesome, Dale, you're the man, appreciate you.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: Scott, he says, can I you've betrayed at this point?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: No, he would have to report first.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: He is too broken upstairs to do that, nothing can happen until he reports to the facility.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing will happen.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: The 49ers are going to allow him to continue to stay away as they will continue to receive more and more of the money every time he doesn't report for whatever updated terms and report dates are into the contract.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing with I.U.C.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: will happen anytime soon will not happen.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: Kimbro, super chat.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: And since they released Jones, does that mean Hobbes is coming off of IR?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: So you had a featured price out coming in play.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: He was a healthy scratch earlier, it's been great on special teams, got a couple snaps there.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and man, going through the tape, Jack Jones had not won, but two busted coverages in the second quarter, like it was just like, oh, like he was.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody's focusing on the penalties and whatever else in the second half.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: That dude had two busted coverages in the second quarter that cost the Niners big.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: Very thankful that they moved off him.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: He was starting to struggle in special teams.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: Big time too.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: How do you see the corner back room shaking out is Ephesians' price sock enough with up-and-stout coming back?
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: Or do you have to use one of those eight designated to return IR spots for eight hops?
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think they want to look at Ephesians' price lock.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they always had a vision for him.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: And it's going to seem so many other young players, you know, step up, Jaden Dugger, you know, and others of this rookie class that have been able to make an impact.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: So far, I bet they're hoping that Ephesians' price lock is going to be able to do that.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: I do believe, though, that Nade Hobbes is going to come back at some point.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: because I do think that they need him in the slot.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think they need him as the nickel behind up and stout.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you that versatility played the nickel for the Las Vegas Raiders, he played outside for the Green Bay Packers for Jeff Hathley.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: If Jeff Hathley believes in you, I usually think, okay, you're a pretty good player out there.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that that versatility would be nice for the 49ers.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's also, he was a lot more physical than Jack Jones.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's a guy that plays Telfi's good against the run.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: He was 15th, best last year against the run.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a guy that you could move inside, now it's side, it he got some versatility, but I also think that they don't mind giving any physics, price, socks, some snaps if that's necessary.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: They loved him.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: They absolutely loved him coming out of Washington.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's kind of a bite product of both.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones just wasn't getting it done.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's very feaster famine.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's either going to be really good or really bad.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: There's no in between and they want more consistency.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully, if he's in price stock, brings that.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: But at some point, I think Nate Hobbes is going to help this team too.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think we're going to see them both at some point in the year.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: I want to up to Stoutback.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: I want up to Stoutback.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's who I want.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: Rick, what's up, man?
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: The president of the 40 Irish Rush Road Trip.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for the SuperJay says Raiders.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: Cowboys Vikings are the 49ers.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: Next three games.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_02]: What is their record after those 10 games, Michigan, Michigan, too, brother, you are good man, you are a good good man.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: So look at the just Raiders at Cowboys Vikings.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be at the Cowboys game with the 49ers or a short trip.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: Probably going to be our biggest event ever.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: Do have to say, we need help.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like the venue, we kind of outputting in our coverage a little bit.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: We run a nice little tight ship.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we had like 350 people at our event, which was really, really good in Atlanta.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: It was awesome.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_02]: But we're might be closer to a thousand people in Dallas.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be an event.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: There's three entrances to this facility.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_02]: We need help.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're going to be in Dallas, you want to help us out at our day before party.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: We could use you email us 49ers rush podcast and Gmail.com.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: We could use some help.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: And so as simple as just helping with check in or helping with raffles or helping kiddos get, you know,
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: stuff to do, some coloring books, we always do like all stuff kind of stuff for the kid out.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, if you've got to be there, reach out to us if you'd like to help, we could use you.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: And then we're going to be in Mexico City as well for the Minnesota Vikings 40 irons rush road trip dot com get your tickets now, predict those three games in Raiders Cowboys Vikings.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: What is the 49ers record through those three games?
- 33:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be three.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: No, but I think it's yeah, I'm going with it.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think that if the Minnesota game was in Minnesota, I would probably pick the 49ers to lose and some of that's going to be if Mike Evans is playing that defense is really good, but they're offense is really bad.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: That just they don't have a great offense in Minnesota and that is their, they're one big problem that I see with that football team as far as Dallas, they don't have a great defense.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they have a major hole there, so you got that and then with the Raiders.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Raiders are losing oil, leaking oil right now.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: They're struggling.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: They're in the place where, by the time they play the 40 years, they might be trading some people away.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that you look at this stretch, and yeah, it's definitely not easy.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: The cowboys have weapons on offense.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: got a ton of dudes on the outside that's going to test the 49er secondary a lot.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: But I think you look at Minnesota and even though they're undefeated, they're extremely flawed.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that there's an opportunity for the 49ers to win plus Mexico City is going to be rocking.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be very red.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be 49ers central.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think the 49ers, if that game's in Mexico City, which it is, they win.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think if it was in Minnesota, it'd be a different story.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: But I got him going three, you know, I like the 49ers.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: But it is, there's a caveat
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: on offense to really help this football team, especially against Minnesota.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_02]: That trade deadline of November tith you have this week, you have the Raiders game, then the trade deadline, then Cowboys games after the trade deadline.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're going to find out Mike Evans,
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, and then, you know, you're talking that Seattle game week 12.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's when Stribbleen's projected comeback date is then at Giants.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want Stribbleen playing on MetLife, but like you've got some turf games in there, so fly, so fly, oh, yeah, we'll see what it is.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: I like the two and one.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: Look at this, Ben says we're going 19 and one for the full season.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: I verified it with science.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: That means you win the next 13 games.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: it's possible.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_02]: Now you look at the NFC landscape.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like there's three teams.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, maybe four.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: You have to include the Vikings haven't even lost yet.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_02]: There's the 40 Niners.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: There's the Bears for sure.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: There's Seattle Seahawks and then there's the Vikings.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: Is there anybody else in kind of the NFC race?
- 35:51[SPEAKER_02]: Do you put the Rams in there?
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: Are there anybody in the NFC East or NFC South even included?
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: Or is this just kind of a four-horse race right now?
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think you always have to be a little bit leary of the rams.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think that if they get on a roll, if they start getting healthy and that's a big if, maybe they need to make a big move at wide receiver, because they need to add talent there with Devante Adams being out.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to count out Sean McVean that group yet.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that you do look at the top of this and it's probably the NFC North is probably where you're going to get the most teams besides the seahawks and the 49ers that are involved in this and I know the bears made the big move But getting out of that division is going to be difficult.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: Green Bay has been
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they've been good.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: They got Josh Jacobs back.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, what's that going to mean for that football team Detroit is getting a couple of guys back on defense.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: I still, I don't think any of those teams are our pure powerhouse football teams like we've seen in the past.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think the most balanced teams are the 49ers and sea hocks.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think the pairs are going to be a little bit of a problem, especially if that defense improves.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I'd never count out the rams.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think the rams are in it after that.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a little bit more difficult.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: And so the rams would have to go on a run.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: They'd have to be able to beat the 49ers beat the c-hawks In coming weeks and so I think that would be difficult, but they're they got Sean McVay and they got Matthew staffer and usually that means they're going to pull off some big wins down the stretch
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, thank you to you love for the super day says the bears got stronger.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: They sure did.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: They are pushing their chips in.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if the playoffs were today, the sea hoax and Rams aren't even in.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: Now, obviously, you got 10 more games to go 11 if you've already had your by week, but as of right now, the 49ers are the only team in the NFC West.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_02]: And the Rams are going to have to claw out and shoot still.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: No miles, Garrett.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder what the record would be if they didn't trade for Miles Garrett.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it would be three and four.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think versus that good.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_02]: I said it when they made the trade like they gave up a lot a lot.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, they did get stronger though.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: I will say that.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right here Joey says we could add BTJ cheap.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: Why not get Jonathan Taylor Josh.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a little bit a little bit too much here.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Jonathan Taylor's even in the conversation.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts about Brian Thomas Jr. or Josh Wooddowns?
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it looks like Brian Thomas juniors out there.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of surprised that the Jacksonville Jaguars were entertaining any of this, but I mean, if he's really fell out of favor with, you know, Liam Cohen there, then yeah, maybe they're going to move on from them.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I've heard of mid-round pick.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: If you're telling me Brian Thomas juniors for a mid-round pick, like some people are projecting.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: Then yeah, it'd be interested in it because it's a guy that has proven he can be a thousand hour receiver.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big body.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: He could stress to field vertically.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: And so if Kyle's training hand in the way that he evaluates wide receivers, thought that he saw Brian Thomas Jr. as somebody that could help his football team.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think you entertain it, especially because that's a cheap, potential trade to go with a cheap contract and more control.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: Those are great moves.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: I just think you'll get a lot of teams.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: And there's going to be so many teams that are in on it though, I wonder what the bidding war actually looks like if Brian Thomas Jr. becomes available unless there's teams that don't believe is that could maybe there's people better on the Liam Cohen bandwagon where it's like he's just he's not really cut out for this offense in this scheme.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: To fact that Marvin Harrison Jr. went for a second and a fifth.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just like, oh, do Brian Thomas Jr has played better tape than Harrison's put up.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm like, man, probably a third, probably a third would be my, and I'm just like, oh.
- 39:27[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: Right here.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's what K Friday.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: The fact that players are willing to take less money to come here really makes me wonder what the heck, you know, B.A.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: is going through.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_02]: Not only are players taking less, but players into manding.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: I want to go there.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_02]: You had Trent Williams do it, you know, shoot six years ago.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_02]: You had to force Buckner do it.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_02]: You had Sebastian Valdez refused his spot on a 53 man roster elsewhere, so he could stay here.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like,
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: Those people that don't understand the value of Kyle Shanahan, you don't get to force Buckman back.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: You don't get Trent Williams.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: You don't get a lot of these guys that choose to come here.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: You don't get Mike Evans without Kyle Shanahan.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: You don't get Richard Sherman.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: I remember whenever he chose to come here.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: He said I went there because they had a quarterback, Jimmy G.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: in Kyle Shanahan.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: I want to be a part of that.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, for those that are just constantly on the whole anti Shanahan, whatever, I know that makes a lot of people money on this industry.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: Sadly, it doesn't really appeal to the reality of the situation or the people that use their upstairs brain bucket.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_02]: Do with that, what you will.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_02]: Kimbro, thanks for the super chat, my man.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: Always good to see you.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: Not all big swings work out.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_02]: We get sauce gardener miles Garrett Mike a Parsons which big swing that has been discussed Would you avoid completely?
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I like that.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_02]: Who were such like whether that's collil Mac, whether it's Garrett Will said is there a big trade out there that people keep talking about that you're just like Don't want to do it
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, no, I mean, Kalil Mack, I think that that's not going to be like a huge swing.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's a guy kind of, you know, the kind of move that you want to make.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be like a mid to late round pick.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: That could come in and help your football team.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: I would say that, you know, maybe there's some some talk or rumblings around different edge players that I think are, I'm a little leery of, you know, maybe investing too much in, you know, a Josh sweat.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: I like Josh sweat, but
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not giving away a day to pick an early day to pick for Josh sweat like that.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: That one doesn't sound great to me and I've watched him play all through college and his whole pro career.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see the value in that.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: I would probably stay away from that.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that's a block bus.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the problem.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if there's a block bus to deal out there for the 49ers that they need to stay away from.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that that would be one that I'm a little bit hesitant for
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm not even sure how motivated he is to play football right now.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and maybe he would be You know, re-vigorated by going to a team that you know is winning and and want to play winning football I don't know but to me that one's a a little one.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of like not so not so into that's a lot.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: Your Florida state guy.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: I am And you're just like don't want them
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: I it's not that I don't want him.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think what's going to take to get him is a little bit over price for what I think the value you're going to get.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: I get a year 12 sacks, you know, a year ago.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: I just I don't see it from him right now.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see the energy.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's the team he's on.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think that he's a complete player for this 49ers defense.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if they get him great, you know, he hopefully can help this team, but I think that there's other directions you could go that are going to cost a little bit less that I would be more favorable.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: because, and again, Dale takes a super chat and it's realistic to take on getting Josh wet.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: You have to pay more because he's in division.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: So if somebody's willing to match, let's say both teams are offering a third round.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_02]: Pick you lose.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to go without.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_02]: You have to pay more and you're just saying, not that you're completely out.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: What would you want?
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: What would your offer be?
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: Cardinals like hey, we're trading just what what we give us for what do you say?
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would say it would have to either be a late dude late day two pick Probably more likely a day three pick.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean if you told me we could get them for and that's a problem We just traded away the fourth round pick so that one is 20.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: I hate it for you
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: I would go with a 28, 28, fourth.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would be I'd be willing to that.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: You can be willing to do a 20, 28, third because the value of a year later pick, you know, usually goes up one round.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I would do that, but I mean, I'm not I'm not willing to give what I think they want.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think they want a second round pick in 20, 27 and I wouldn't be willing to touch that.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_02]: No, I would not either that is.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: way off the charts there for like you said, not necessarily a flawed player, but there's some question marks there.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: There's some question marks.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: Leon St. Castle awesome tag.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you super chat.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_02]: Cooper Eugene or Xavier Hutchinson thoughts.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: the Eagles partying with Cooper Dijin.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's had a really bad year.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: He has not been a very good football player this year, but that is somebody that got an interception.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_02]: The Super Bowl helped him secure the Super Bowl win.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: Let's take these guys individually.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts of the Eagles?
- 44:05[SPEAKER_02]: Are they sellers yet?
- 44:08[SPEAKER_02]: And would Cooper Dijin help us?
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: You're taking up to
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that's, I mean, Kubrick jeans a great player.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, any time you can add a player like that, you know, what, what would you do with them?
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: Was he become a safety, is he play corners, he played nickel.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's a question you would have to ask.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're still high enough in style.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: So, and I don't think that the Eagles are going to trade Kubrick jeans.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think they are going to trade.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: a couple of players here and there.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't think they're willing to go wholesale and just trade off everyone.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be a fire cell.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think that they're going to listen to offers.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's one thing I know about, you know, how he's there.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to listen to offers and if he gets blown away, he's going to make some sort of a deal, especially if he's going to try to rebuild this thing.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't see cooperating getting traded.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: same.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_02]: I don't either and save your Hutchinson.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: Iowa State.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: You got the connection.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of your big slot F roll.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_02]: If you believe Christian Kirk could be that guy.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: Then I'm like, all right, if you believe dribbling coming back to be that guy.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Hutchinson really moves the needle for me very much.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: I prefer to Mark's Robinson, but I, to save your Hutchinson do anything for you.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, not really.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think that I'm with you.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: I would say that they go with the Marcus Robbins.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: The Marcus Robbins is looking really good before the injury.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, phenomenal.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: That offense was clicking.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: No, I mean, that's not a needle mover for me.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think that if you're talking about another needle moving player, I don't know if he becomes available, but Nico Collins would be a guy that I'd be like, hey, that's a needle mover for me.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd be willing to trade a lot of draft capital to get him.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_02]: I, yeah, yeah, Nico, yeah, I don't, I mean, they just traded a second for a wide receiver.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: Why would they trade a way one?
- 45:54[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I would do it right here.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: Ben Jordan showed us talking about between now and the deadline said get your popcorn ready.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: What's the impact of pushing the trade deadline back a week?
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that he has said that he thinks there's going to be 15 to 20 trades, you know, and there's already been, you know, three, I mean, you'll consider really big trades.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: So far, the NFC, I think there's going to be a lot of movement.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that this next week is going to determine how many teams are in and how many teams are out.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so I do think that there's going to be a lot of moves.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the four judge are going to be a part of one of those moves.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it isn't get your popcorn ready moment because there's going to be a lot of movements.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: The have's are going to get more players that have not are trying to position themselves in the 2027 draft, especially to rebuild their football team.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: And so if some of these teams can get extra draft capital, they're going to do it.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like that.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: Right here, Lori, do we add to our secondary?
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for the super chat, by the way.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think they would add if if they would write player was available.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think that it's more like depth though, right?
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: You're not looking for a starter.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: So when people bring up guys like Rick Woolen and players like that, I don't I don't see the value because I don't see him starting over Diablo the North and I'll see him starting over.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Renardo Green and he's not going to play the slot over up and stout.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: So you're looking for more depth pieces.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: So somebody became available that you felt could be a good depth piece that fourth corner back, you know, to take over Jack Jones's role, you thought it was an improvement over the Fission's price sock and Nate Hobbes that you have, then you do it.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_01]: But other than that, I wouldn't say they make a move there.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they're not going to do anything with the safety's safety's actually played really well this year.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: All three of them.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think they're going to make a move when it comes to the safety removed
- 47:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I feel like if I was a pool string doll, like one of the things would be the 40 hours don't value guard or safety.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: Don't expect them to spend at those positions.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_02]: They just do not do it.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_02]: They value wide receiver and defensive line.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: That is what they value.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_02]: And that's kind of where I expect the traits to take place.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_02]: You've already seen one defensive lineman.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_02]: I can see an edge.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_02]: I can see a wide receiver.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's tied in, but they're not really big on tight end either.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_02]: They haven't even drafted it.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, Luke Ferrell's up and down.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_02]: I thought his best play of the season was the recovery and the fumble from Georgia James, which Georgia James played more.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: And before we get out of here, Ants, I want to give you an opportunity, talk to us about your Patreon and then I want to look back just briefly on the Falcons game and some things you saw, but before we get to there, tell us about your Patreon and how we can support the show.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, 49ers cut back on Patreon, go check it out.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm about to actually put up my film breakdowns.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: I got six, so I didn't do a lot of recording, but I'm about to do those and put those out.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: So film breakdowns are gonna be available on there.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: I do some standalone shows as well that are gonna be available on Patreon.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: So if you want extra content, you wanted to get into some of the film that's available over on Patreon, come check it out.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, please do.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: So let's look back a little bit.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: What were some things that you saw that you did like?
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: Were there some positive takeaways from the Falcons tape offense or defense that you saw?
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think the running game, you know, I mean, the 49er's running game, I was successful and really if they didn't have the fumble from K-Long Black, I think that that offends what it kept rolling with that running game.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: I love some of the new, the new little wrinkles, you know, the fake toss, the inside give, other way they're pulling, they were making really good blocks on the second level.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen the running game be very effective over the last three weeks against some pretty good defenses as well.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I think the running game is looked really good and I think that they're just,
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, got into a situation where they had some problems moving the ball after that, but I thought overall I really thought that was a big takeaway was how good the 49ers running game was and is so far this season.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're running very successfully.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like they're having to do volume.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's they're getting a lot of yards on those carries that they're getting.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I wish they would do volume.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_02]: It had 22 rush attempts for five and a half yards per carry.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_02]: You should have had 30 plus rush attempts to that game.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_02]: With those wide receivers, the problem is Shanny Hand will allow the defensive front to check out of a called run.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I think you've got to get to the point where like, hey, we might flip it.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_02]: We might switch the run call, but we have to stay committed whenever you've got Brandon cooks.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: And whatever the hell you want to say was out there.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: shouldn't run the ball a lot more times you're so affected that it's okay to run into a loaded box if you're getting three and a half yards they were getting five and a half run the ball.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: So now I'll turn it to you.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: My thing is abandoning the run game.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_02]: What was something that really you did not enjoy seeing from a schematic standpoint against the Falcons?
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think it would be the defense not being aggressive on the outside.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we would see them give so much space even to tight ends.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, you have Austin was an awesome hooker out there.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember which one it is, but the tie didn't he's just out there.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's got all this space to catch the ball in front of another green.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are we doing?
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: This is a tie didn't he doesn't threaten you vertically.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get up there and let's pressure him.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: So to me, I thought that that was something I didn't love.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like the defensive game plan.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_01]: They were kind of just letting the Falcons bring the offense to them instead of taking the defense to them and being aggressive.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I wasn't a huge fan of that game plan from the defense.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_01]: It was across the board.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't just like Renardo Green was doing it.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: It was a defensive call, which I wasn't a huge fan of.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm with you there, shade, he says, you know, what's interesting about this combo of six teams, go all in to what the Super Bowl only ones win in it.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's gonna be five losers.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like everybody's like, oh, f them picks, go guarantee a Super Bowl.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: Can't do that.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: Can't do that.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_02]: You can trade for all of the best players of the world.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: You fumble four times, so you have four turnovers in a playoff game, you're going home.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_02]: You're going home.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_02]: And like you look at the players that have had turnovers, whether it's George Kittle, Christian Becafrey, like those are Hall of Fame style players.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's not as easy as just trade for everybody if it picks with a Super Bowl.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like even when the Rams did it, you got to understand, you got to have the Jekwaski Tart, you got to drop to Interception.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_02]: You got to have the Philadelphia Eagles fumble in the fourth quarter.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: You have to have the Phantom PI call in the Super Bowl on Cooper Cup that was not existing on fourth down to give you those that like, you've got to have a lot of stuff go your way.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_02]: Now,
- 52:13[SPEAKER_02]: pushing the chips in and splashing the pot or whatever.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's awesome.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_02]: How the Rams look at right now.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_02]: They're not even in first place.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_02]: They're not in second place.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: They're not even first or second out of the playoffs at the playoffs where today.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't always just equate to go all in when the Super Bowl.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: I know that's the mentality of us fans a lot of times.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the 49ers should be the favorites for the Super Bowl right now.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_02]: You know, trading these first round picks doesn't guarantee and for people that keep say the windows closed, the windows closed, the windows closed or the four dares have been cheap.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason why in 2019 and in 2020 and in 2023 and in 2025 and now in 2020 2026, they're all involved in the playoff run to the Super Bowl.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's just because of what they did.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: They have built sustained success.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's tensioned there.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_02]: If disagreements are great.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're one of those, it's just like screw it, go win it all right now.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's okay.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: disagreements are fine.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying don't go all in.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying don't go all in just for all in sake.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_02]: If there's a player that can come in and transform your team for the next three to four years, go all in.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going all in for a one year, 10 game rental.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_02]: And make that make sense to me, or should we fight about it?
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm with I think sustained success is one of those things that every general manager is looking for.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's finding that balance.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if if you felt that you could be head and shoulders above everybody else, if you made one move.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the 49ers would be willing to do that, but we've seen team snake bitten, you know, you make those moves and then you don't get there.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've invested and sacrifice some of your future.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: I try to get an attainable goal you probably could have got without making that move.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: So you're right.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_01]: It takes so much that goes into winning playoff games and getting to the super little winning.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: And we can all look at certain moments, whether that was in 2019 or 2023, that if those moments don't happen, the 49ers have two Lombardies right now.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a way it goes sometimes, you play really good players, you have to overcome that, but also you have to play, you know, play against circumstance and people make mistakes.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: The question is, can you not make those big mistakes in those big games?
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: The Troy had the 49ers cooked in 2023 and the NFC Championship game.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then to guess what, everything started changing.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_01]: Next thing, you know, there's a fumble and now the 49ers are getting it done.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_01]: and Dan Campbell's gambling too much, all those things played into it.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_01]: So you just don't know how things are going to play out.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_01]: You do whatever you can, whatever you feel is necessary to help you win, but you don't just mortgage the future to mortgage the future.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_01]: You do what you have to do.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I think John Lynch is a very good job at that, assessing where his team's at.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I think this team has been the best team in the NFL so far this season.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_01]: I know they're not undefeated like the Vikings.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that the 49ers are better than the Vikings and I think that's what they're going to prove in Mexico City And so I think the making this before the force buck their they feel like hey, it put them another not to above everybody else There we go.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_02]: Well said and you are a legend.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very thankful for my time with you Thank you for educated us and entertaining us.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody go check out four areas come back That's going to do it for us today.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back next Thursday and until that time has always stay strong faithful
