- 1:01Speaker 1: had to put a number on the record for many
- 1:04Speaker 1: times you've jerked off on one day one day, what's
- 1:07Speaker 1: your record? Maybe when I was I don't know, like
- 1:12Speaker 1: three or four, that's it. Oh, that's terrible. I've done
- 1:15Speaker 1: at least eight eight Yeah, at least eight once. Yeah,
- 1:21Speaker 1: probably when I was like nineteen, yeah, or maybe sixteen.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Just you know, you have the whole house
- 1:26Speaker 1: to yourself when you fresh internet porn, when you barely
- 1:29Speaker 1: first got those bang bros hacked passwords, you're just stroking
- 1:33Speaker 1: all day until someone comes home and catches Yeah. Really anyway, Hey,

- 1:50Speaker 1: his music. He just went Dancing with the Stars season
- 1:53Speaker 1: thirty and by the way, he killed it like this guy.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I don't think anyone's ever had a better performance on
- 2:00Speaker 1: Dancing with the Stars, So shout out to Imman. He's
- 2:03Speaker 1: working on a project that's coming out called This Carrent Stolen.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I happened to be a hardcore twenty sixteen Cavaliers advocate,
- 2:16Speaker 1: a big, big Lebron James fan. That's kind of where
- 2:19Speaker 1: I stand on the side of the all Time debate
- 2:23Speaker 1: and me and in Man talk about this debate. It
- 2:26Speaker 1: was actually a master debate him and I had, and
- 2:30Speaker 1: it was a good one. So shout out to him
- 2:32Speaker 1: on man, this is if you're a basketball fan. I mean,
- 2:35Speaker 1: we really dived in here. Did he break the record?
- 2:37Speaker 1: Steph Currige just broke the three point record? No one
- 2:38Speaker 1: gives a fuck. Steph Curree's a bitch anyway. So I
- 2:42Speaker 1: sat here and I sat with these with my producer Cook,
- 2:45Speaker 1: who's also a fucking Warriors fan while we talked to
- 2:48Speaker 1: Aman Schumpert. Shout out to Odd socks. Go to. This
- 2:52Speaker 1: intro is all over the place. Yeah, shout out to

- 3:42Speaker 1: talk to Alman Shumpert. Hopefully he doesn't hear this intro
- 3:45Speaker 1: because he's gonna be like, who the fuck did I
- 3:46Speaker 1: just sit down? With Yo. It's the bootleg keV show Man.
- 3:52Speaker 1: We got a special guest in here, NBA legend dancing
- 3:57Speaker 1: legend now also a pretty solid MC. We got Iman
- 4:02Speaker 1: Shepherd in the building. Man, welcome, what's going on both?
- 4:05Speaker 1: First of all, congratulations on Dancing with the Stars. I
- 4:10Speaker 1: assumed when you got on there, just knowing your background,
- 4:14Speaker 1: knowing who your wife is, you had a pretty easy
- 4:19Speaker 1: path to victory. I just assumed you were the betting favorite.
- 4:21Speaker 1: When I saw that you were a part of the cast,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I was like, Yo, there's like a mon's got to
- 4:25Speaker 1: come with it because your girl, low Key's one of
- 4:27Speaker 1: the hardest dancers of all time. You know what I'm saying.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I mean, I'll take it if that's what you felt.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But how like, like, oh I wish it was smooth
- 4:38Speaker 1: like that? What was that like? I mean, obviously I
- 4:40Speaker 1: didn't even know there was thirty seasons. I saw it
- 4:42Speaker 1: was a thirty season. That's crazy. It's it's a competition show.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It's not a I went it with the assumption that
- 4:53Speaker 1: I was gonna go in here and have a ball
- 4:55Speaker 1: and it was gonna be fun. Yeah, dancing for a
- 4:58Speaker 1: couple of hours, you know what I'm saying whatever, and
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's uh pretty hectic after a while. I don't know.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It was like I damn it, didn't want to do it,
- 5:11Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like you get like this
- 5:12Speaker 1: is more work than I thought. You just get exhausted
- 5:15Speaker 1: with doing every dance that you don't know, you know
- 5:18Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like it's one thing to you know,
- 5:21Speaker 1: be a kid and learn how to walk once. Man,
- 5:23Speaker 1: But it's like if somebody tried to teach you how
- 5:25Speaker 1: to walk ten different ways as a thirty year old,
- 5:30Speaker 1: You're looking at them like, hey, bro, this looks better.
- 5:32Speaker 1: It feels better, So I'm gonna do this, like you
- 5:34Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like that's what your mind wants
- 5:36Speaker 1: to say. And it was just like all the small technicalities,
- 5:40Speaker 1: it was just like to get my habits to break.
- 5:43Speaker 1: It was so difficult. I didn't think it was that difficult.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And I'm lucky that Danny State stayed in the practice
- 5:50Speaker 1: i mean rehearsal space with me for as long as
- 5:52Speaker 1: she did, because we did get a lot of practice in.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But by the time we did get the trophy though,
- 5:59Speaker 1: it was worth it. So it was definitely it was
- 6:02Speaker 1: definitely worth it. Man, was it like a different type
- 6:05Speaker 1: of challenge for you, obviously being an athlete, coming from
- 6:09Speaker 1: you know, being one of the however many people are
- 6:12Speaker 1: in the NBA. Was it three hundred and seventy people
- 6:14Speaker 1: in the NBA something like that, one of the three
- 6:16Speaker 1: hundred and seventy best athletes in the in the world
- 6:19Speaker 1: when it comes to basketball to go into the dancing world, Like,
- 6:22Speaker 1: how how much of a different challenge was it for you?
- 6:26Speaker 1: It was a it's a big adjustment. It's uh, I say,
- 6:33Speaker 1: basketball is already kind of like poetry in motion, so
- 6:39Speaker 1: to speak, like you have to make smooth movements, uh,
- 6:42Speaker 1: with your athleticism. And I think that was like my
- 6:46Speaker 1: biggest advantage when when the weeks progressed, it was like
- 6:51Speaker 1: Danny started leaning on you know what I was good at.
- 6:54Speaker 1: You know, we started doing lifts, We start, uh, just
- 6:59Speaker 1: doing things every week that we start calling them moments.
- 7:02Speaker 1: But it was like we would have these moments that
- 7:05Speaker 1: you you feel something you don't really you're not really
- 7:08Speaker 1: just watching the show, just like the US thing. It
- 7:10Speaker 1: was like people felt that shit, like they felt like
- 7:13Speaker 1: we was really in the movie, like we was really
- 7:14Speaker 1: trying to remind them of the movements and play on
- 7:18Speaker 1: the tether version of ourselves. And it was like doing
- 7:20Speaker 1: that I think really boosted us. But the the the
- 7:25Speaker 1: adjustment from basketball to dancing, I think basketball is already
- 7:31Speaker 1: pretty much like we gotta do. It's kind of like dancing,
- 7:34Speaker 1: like I'm doing the wrong but like or something like that.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Ain't nothing but a finish over the right right right,
- 7:40Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. That's a finish, So that's
- 7:42Speaker 1: a that's a reverse. That footwork is me getting around
- 7:46Speaker 1: the screen, you know what I'm saying, Like it's similar,
- 7:48Speaker 1: It's just I gotta make it fun. So I'm like
- 7:51Speaker 1: running around the rehearsal space like okay, euro step here
- 7:56Speaker 1: five six, seven, eight, Okay, that's you know what I mean.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Like that's how I was remembering here telling myself basketball terminologies.
- 8:02Speaker 1: As the footwork, I also feel like like just as
- 8:04Speaker 1: a person, like you've always been like naturally evolved into
- 8:10Speaker 1: like the space of like art in some way, whether
- 8:14Speaker 1: it's being an artist or fashion. And I feel like
- 8:16Speaker 1: the dancing shit, you know, like I said, it kind
- 8:18Speaker 1: of goes hand in hand with all that shit, especially
- 8:21Speaker 1: considering like again, Gianna is the goat, you know what,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I'm saying, like, so it doesn't hurt, right, I mean,
- 8:29Speaker 1: it's that's what I've been doing my whole life. If
- 8:33Speaker 1: I wouldn't have went to the league, I wasn't gonna
- 8:35Speaker 1: sit on my ass like I wasn't gonna be you
- 8:38Speaker 1: know what I mean, if something ever went wrong with
- 8:40Speaker 1: me in my life. Like you see people checking out early.
- 8:42Speaker 1: It's like, if I ever checked out early, how dare
- 8:45Speaker 1: I not try? You know what I'm saying, everything as
- 8:48Speaker 1: far as every competition, I'm offered to be in every opportunity,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, available to take on, Like
- 8:59Speaker 1: why wouldn't I take it on? Like when I got
- 9:01Speaker 1: the Dancing with the Stars call, It's like, yeah, normally
- 9:04Speaker 1: and then you see it. I mean, by the way
- 9:06Speaker 1: Jerry Rice was on Dancing with the Stars and some
- 9:09Speaker 1: of the greatest smith Yeah, Floyd was on there. That's
- 9:12Speaker 1: what really threw me off. I'm like, Floyd was on there.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I don't even remember that. That's crazy. Exactly thirty seasons.
- 9:18Speaker 1: When I saw that, I was like, there was thirty
- 9:20Speaker 1: How old am I? And it's like you go there,
- 9:23Speaker 1: you're watching it, and I'm they're like, yeah, the football
- 9:25Speaker 1: players usually do way better than you guys. I'm just
- 9:28Speaker 1: like what other basketball players had participated in. I feel
- 9:31Speaker 1: like there was Rick Fox, Lamar Oldham, Clyde Drex the Okay,
- 9:42Speaker 1: I just saw Rick Fox in a movie that I
- 9:43Speaker 1: didn't know he was in recently. I remember which one.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I was watching, some movie from two thousands. I was like,
- 9:49Speaker 1: Rick Fox, and I have to tell you this. I'm
- 9:53Speaker 1: a Phoenix Suns fan, but I am also you know,
- 9:58Speaker 1: the Sons have been in a dumpster fire or until
- 10:01Speaker 1: you know recently, so from like uh nine until recently,
- 10:07Speaker 1: just whatever team Lebron's been on has been my team,
- 10:10Speaker 1: you know, outside of the Suns. You see, I got
- 10:12Speaker 1: Charles Barkley up there. But uh, I haven't had more passionate,
- 10:19Speaker 1: screaming conversations with other grown men about I've had more
- 10:26Speaker 1: of those arguments about your Cavaliers teams with than anything
- 10:32Speaker 1: else in my life. I'm talking. I've had screaming matches
- 10:34Speaker 1: with grown men about the Cavaliers. Oh it's serious, Like
- 10:39Speaker 1: like I'm I'm saying, like, obviously you got traded in
- 10:41Speaker 1: what twenty fifteen in the middle of the season, right,
- 10:43Speaker 1: or was that the Calves from the Knicks. Was that
- 10:47Speaker 1: the trade that when you and gr came over. Yep, yeah,
- 10:51Speaker 1: that season, right, and so I just I just want
- 10:54Speaker 1: to go over that that time period, man. Now, that
- 10:57Speaker 1: first year was one of the biggest what if year's
- 11:01Speaker 1: ever And every time I argue with the Warriors fan,
- 11:04Speaker 1: like this fucker right here, my producer, I always just
- 11:09Speaker 1: think about, like that team, and we always see the
- 11:12Speaker 1: meme of like what the Warriors had as their starting
- 11:16Speaker 1: five and who the Cavaliers had as they're starting five
- 11:18Speaker 1: because Kevin Love got injured, Kyrie was out but still
- 11:22Speaker 1: took it to six games. I think it was Matthew
- 11:24Speaker 1: Deladova was starting at point guard. I think were you
- 11:26Speaker 1: starting at the three or the four? I think you
- 11:28Speaker 1: were starting at the three. Tristan Thompson mos Golf. What
- 11:33Speaker 1: do you remember about that series that you know a
- 11:37Speaker 1: lot of people had said Lebron probably should have still
- 11:40Speaker 1: won the finals MVP obviously Iggy ended appointing it, But
- 11:43Speaker 1: that was such a hard fought series, man, Like, what
- 11:45Speaker 1: was that like kind of coming from the Knicks from like,
- 11:48Speaker 1: you know, a team that probably fell short of a
- 11:51Speaker 1: lot of people's expectations and then just going straight to
- 11:53Speaker 1: the finals that first year? What was that? What was
- 11:55Speaker 1: that experience? Like, man, what do you mean, Like, what
- 12:01Speaker 1: do you mean instead of going I mean, like you
- 12:05Speaker 1: you get traded and then that first year you're in
- 12:07Speaker 1: the finals. Oh well, make no mistake. Field traded us
- 12:12Speaker 1: and wasn't supposed to trade us. Joe, we'd a big
- 12:16Speaker 1: cool over there New York, Joe, like we're still with
- 12:19Speaker 1: the war some ship. After while, we just wasn't together
- 12:21Speaker 1: long enough. They broke us up. Phil, I don't know
- 12:24Speaker 1: what you was doing, feel but that was incorrect. But
- 12:29Speaker 1: we did, Phil Jackson kind of for a few years. Yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 1: shout out to you for that, bro. But uh, when
- 12:41Speaker 1: we got over there, like it took us. It took
- 12:46Speaker 1: us just a quick second to like be able to
- 12:49Speaker 1: really like go to war with each other and practice.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I feel like right when we first got over there
- 12:54Speaker 1: were still banged up. I was still coming off with
- 12:56Speaker 1: shoulder injury. I dislocated my shoulder, hadn't been playing. So
- 13:01Speaker 1: when we got traded, Uh, just jy'all was playing, but
- 13:06Speaker 1: he was like nursing something as well, Like we were
- 13:08Speaker 1: just coming over. Everything was just sort of random. I
- 13:11Speaker 1: don't think he like did much his first game and
- 13:14Speaker 1: then once we got into them practices, we had some
- 13:21Speaker 1: special practices that team, Like I don't know, like before
- 13:26Speaker 1: we got when we first showed up, like before I
- 13:28Speaker 1: started practicing, I just remember coming in practice and being like, bro,
- 13:31Speaker 1: this is too smooth, Like y'all have no beef, Like
- 13:35Speaker 1: there's no hectic, there's nothing like, there's nothing to push
- 13:38Speaker 1: y'all at all. And that's what me Jr. And Mazi
- 13:44Speaker 1: that's what we was like, that's what we owned now
- 13:46Speaker 1: because y'all got Kyrie kd lebron K Love and Bron
- 13:51Speaker 1: So it's like it ain't like it's gonna be many
- 13:54Speaker 1: basketballs being passed around, you know what I'm saying, too crazy,
- 13:58Speaker 1: So we just sort of brought like a toughness and
- 14:02Speaker 1: a swag and a fun you know what I'm saying,
- 14:04Speaker 1: Like I feel like, damn near they were scared to
- 14:06Speaker 1: celebrate a three pointer, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 14:08Speaker 1: if you watch them, they were just like regular like yeah, yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 1: goot y'all. Yeah, it was just like great guys like yeah,
- 14:14Speaker 1: no good like good play like and then when we
- 14:17Speaker 1: got there, we was just like we don't do some swag.
- 14:20Speaker 1: We just so like, yeah, we coming from New York,
- 14:22Speaker 1: we just you know what I'm saying, Like we used
- 14:24Speaker 1: to giving that Showman like our crowd like that shit.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Like we like we we point at the crowd and
- 14:29Speaker 1: start talking shit. New York loved that shit. I'm like,
- 14:31Speaker 1: y'all just gonna have to get with it over here,
- 14:33Speaker 1: Like I don't know what y'all got going on, but
- 14:35Speaker 1: we're not doing this quietly like that's what we brought
- 14:38Speaker 1: to the team. But it was like marching through that
- 14:40Speaker 1: and seeing Bron Like once we lost Kay and he
- 14:45Speaker 1: halfed his knee because quiet as kept Bro when that
- 14:51Speaker 1: misshot came off in Game one. If I throw that
- 14:54Speaker 1: mob back in, it's a different series because kle never
- 14:57Speaker 1: has his knee, you know what I'm saying, Man, Like
- 15:00Speaker 1: Kyrie plays that one in the overtime. No, he did
- 15:03Speaker 1: play that series, you know what I'm saying. But if
- 15:05Speaker 1: he plays that full series, that's what I'm saying, he
- 15:06Speaker 1: plays the full series. I think you guys went. If
- 15:08Speaker 1: I hit that over and then basketball is different forever
- 15:11Speaker 1: because y'all wouldn't be running around head shooting all these threes.
- 15:14Speaker 1: My man wouldn't be over here shaking his head all
- 15:16Speaker 1: confidently with this Golden State s. Kat probably come over
- 15:20Speaker 1: there and play with us as opposed to them, because
- 15:22Speaker 1: we won. You know what I'm saying. What I did,
- 15:28Speaker 1: Katie would have been like they won over there, the
- 15:30Speaker 1: go over here and shake with them. Me and Bron
- 15:32Speaker 1: finda played together, and y'all finna be mad. But that
- 15:36Speaker 1: would have ruined basketball too, So I can either way ruined. No,
- 15:40Speaker 1: he didn't. It wasn't Katie. It was Broun first going
- 15:42Speaker 1: to Miami. Bron knows her basketball. Let me ask you this,
- 15:45Speaker 1: do you think that was I always look at the
- 15:47Speaker 1: front I ruined basketball? He thought he was. He thought
- 15:50Speaker 1: he was making it better. I get him. So you
- 15:52Speaker 1: think Lebron ruined it for everything? He ruined the dis
- 15:58Speaker 1: me personally, I love the NBA for the little tea
- 16:01Speaker 1: that I thought was there. He basically knocked the fourth
- 16:05Speaker 1: wall down. Like man, the owners, they ship, they bullshit
- 16:09Speaker 1: and we're doing what we want. Great business move, for sure,
- 16:13Speaker 1: But when you think about it outside looking in, like
- 16:16Speaker 1: I got people tweeting me right now, they like literally
- 16:19Speaker 1: talking about owners and trays and it's like, bro, y'all
- 16:21Speaker 1: not supposed to be talking about none of them. Actually,
- 16:23Speaker 1: y'all really supposed to be going super crazy if you're
- 16:27Speaker 1: a businessman and you're sitting outside looking at you like damn.
- 16:29Speaker 1: The fans are supposed to be worried about the game.
- 16:32Speaker 1: They supposed to be talking shit like they used to be.
- 16:34Speaker 1: We used to just sit there and talk shit like
- 16:35Speaker 1: of course, I don't care. You're not finn I was
- 16:38Speaker 1: a Bulls fan. You're not allowed to talk shit about
- 16:40Speaker 1: Jude Butler. Shout out to Jedd Butchler also a great
- 16:43Speaker 1: volleyball player. Everyone knows that. Like, you're not allowed to
- 16:46Speaker 1: talk about Jason Caffey, none of my guys or or
- 16:50Speaker 1: what was the other guy's name of Randy Brown? Randy Brown,
- 16:53Speaker 1: you know, you know Randy Brown. Shout out to him.
- 16:56Speaker 1: We could go down to random book Bill Whitnington. But
- 16:59Speaker 1: I'm just yeah, I'm not playing about the Bulls. And
- 17:01Speaker 1: it's like I feel like now because everybody's teaming up
- 17:05Speaker 1: and shit, like you'll hear people like no hen Man,
- 17:07Speaker 1: but they suck. You know what I'm saying. He needs
- 17:09Speaker 1: to go over here, he needs to get traded. I'll
- 17:11Speaker 1: be listening to this shit, like, bro, I'm like, do
- 17:14Speaker 1: y'all realize that the players that y'all just willing to
- 17:17Speaker 1: just if they don't win this year, Like y'all, he
- 17:20Speaker 1: get traded there and he can't win this year, and
- 17:23Speaker 1: now y'all just done. I'm like, bro, these two, these
- 17:25Speaker 1: two playing styles, is gonna take at least three years
- 17:28Speaker 1: to figure each other out before y'all even got a shot.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Y'all big and y'all small gonna have to play together
- 17:33Speaker 1: for a little while. Become like an arms race though, right,
- 17:35Speaker 1: it's like very much like you gotta happen fast. It
- 17:38Speaker 1: has to happen immediately or else it's like everybody under
- 17:41Speaker 1: the Yeah, everybody's tweaking, and it'll be like, Bro, they
- 17:43Speaker 1: lost three games, like Bro, chill out eighty two games.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Somebody lose three, they start caring about what the man
- 17:51Speaker 1: wearing is he come in like it's just all type
- 17:54Speaker 1: of frantic And I feel like all the franticness happened
- 17:57Speaker 1: when bron went to Miami. That's when every thing became
- 18:00Speaker 1: so critical. I guess I agree with you in that
- 18:03Speaker 1: aspect that things changed as far as people. Oh no, no,
- 18:07Speaker 1: I'm not talking about the development of the game. If
- 18:09Speaker 1: you watch people how they score in the day. That
- 18:10Speaker 1: I just mean, like the way the fans perceived the game. Yeah,
- 18:13Speaker 1: they look at it like it don't mean much, because
- 18:15Speaker 1: I always look at the first super team from that
- 18:19Speaker 1: era being when Ray Allen and KG went to the
- 18:22Speaker 1: Celtics and won that first year. But that's not that's
- 18:25Speaker 1: not Lebron James. It's still not Lebron James or Dwayne
- 18:29Speaker 1: Wade for that matter, like y'all got to do because
- 18:31Speaker 1: that was even like kind of end of KG peak,
- 18:34Speaker 1: still peak KG, but kind of towards the end, you know, Peak,
- 18:39Speaker 1: d Wade, Peak, Lebron, Pete, Chris Bosh. I mean, I
- 18:42Speaker 1: guess I get it, but no, you don't get it.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Nobody gets it. I hear Richard's I think that it changed.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I think when Lebron went to the Heat, it definitely
- 18:49Speaker 1: changed supposed to do that. The way fans looked at
- 18:53Speaker 1: the way, they really start looking at it like it
- 18:56Speaker 1: just don't mean nothing, Like loyal c means nothing. So
- 18:59Speaker 1: when you talked about the Knicks earlier and how Phil
- 19:02Speaker 1: because everyone's ruined it. Phil was as great of a
- 19:06Speaker 1: coach as he was, was probably one of the worst
- 19:08Speaker 1: basketball people. But it's because basketball is in this hot
- 19:11Speaker 1: seat mode. So if we're not winning and he on
- 19:14Speaker 1: the hot seat, he thinking, oh I gotta shift it
- 19:16Speaker 1: and I gotta do this, and it's like, goofy, No,
- 19:18Speaker 1: you wasn't you. You ain't Like you got drafted in
- 19:21Speaker 1: twenty eleven, which was a crazy draft. That was Kyrie Kawhi,
- 19:28Speaker 1: a lot of players in the War, Jimmy Butler, Kimba Twins, Kimball, Yeah,
- 19:34Speaker 1: the Mores. Yeah, Burks is a great player. Uh was
- 19:38Speaker 1: in that draft? What else? That's a hell of a draft.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Jimmer shout out to jimmer Man he should have. Yeah,
- 19:49Speaker 1: but no, when you go to the Knicks, mellows there
- 19:54Speaker 1: you got a great young nucleus yourself, j R. Smith,
- 19:58Speaker 1: he just took too long. Took to long win Man.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Amari had signed in what twenty ten, So by the
- 20:04Speaker 1: time you got it, because a Mari that first year
- 20:05Speaker 1: with the Knicks really had like an MVP type season.
- 20:09Speaker 1: But then I think after that the injuries kind of
- 20:11Speaker 1: caught up to him. But do you think that that's
- 20:14Speaker 1: what happened with the Knicks? Like, had you guys stuck
- 20:16Speaker 1: around and jailed a little bit longer, Like I felt
- 20:20Speaker 1: like when we after we went to this to the
- 20:23Speaker 1: second round and lost to Indy, which we shouldn't have
- 20:25Speaker 1: lost it, I feel like I'll keep my commence with
- 20:31Speaker 1: myself on that. But that's that's what. That's the Paul George, Roy,
- 20:34Speaker 1: Herbert Land Stevenson team. Yeah, keep my comments myself, don't
- 20:38Speaker 1: keep it. Get should have won, We should have won. Okay,
- 20:40Speaker 1: how many games? How many games of that series? Got six?
- 20:43Speaker 1: Should have won. And coming off of that, I'll never
- 20:49Speaker 1: forget working out doing all this other stuff and were
- 20:52Speaker 1: getting ready to report back. Novak gets traded, and I'm like,
- 21:00Speaker 1: what the fuck? Once Novak got traded, it was just
- 21:04Speaker 1: like what are we doing? Like why do y'all continue
- 21:07Speaker 1: to it was like it just seemed like we're just
- 21:10Speaker 1: doing stuff to our team to just just to do it. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 1: because Novak was like id role player. But it was
- 21:18Speaker 1: perfect for our ball club, right, like a perfect fit. Yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I could drive right whenever I want because nobody's gonna
- 21:23Speaker 1: help off. No back, right, I'm gonna dunk this. Anybody
- 21:27Speaker 1: got an issue with it, bring your man over here.
- 21:31Speaker 1: No back that counts for three? Need a count by two,
- 21:33Speaker 1: a count by three. If that's how I picks, but
- 21:36Speaker 1: we all knew each other. We had a vibe of
- 21:38Speaker 1: energy together and then it was like, yeah, no, bag's gone,
- 21:42Speaker 1: meet Andre Bignani and it was like now we and
- 21:45Speaker 1: we got Drea just in an uncomfortable position because he like,
- 21:50Speaker 1: if he don't jail, now it's like what we trade
- 21:53Speaker 1: for you, you know what I'm saying. So now it's
- 21:54Speaker 1: like a weird energy on him, but it's really because
- 21:57Speaker 1: we just miss our adults. Also to Bianni was like
- 22:00Speaker 1: in a weird position too, because that was like if
- 22:02Speaker 1: he did if it didn't work for him, there he's
- 22:04Speaker 1: definitely a bust, like you know what I mean. And
- 22:06Speaker 1: then he was you know what I'm saying, nervous with
- 22:08Speaker 1: the injury stuff. Its just it was just a lot
- 22:10Speaker 1: happening that It was just like, Bro, we had a
- 22:12Speaker 1: nice thing going and I understand why I got tampered with,
- 22:16Speaker 1: But who am I? Bro? How I'm trying to you?
- 22:20Speaker 1: You were there during the insanity shit? Right? What was
- 22:24Speaker 1: because I feel like that was like a really one
- 22:27Speaker 1: of the more awesome random things that have happened like
- 22:30Speaker 1: in basketball in a long time, where you like, think
- 22:32Speaker 1: of this guy who just he went to Harvard, Right,
- 22:36Speaker 1: he went to like like an ivy league school. I
- 22:38Speaker 1: think he went to Harvard. He went to one of
- 22:39Speaker 1: those Harbor or yeah, he went to Harvard Man and
- 22:43Speaker 1: Tarbor or is it hot Shaman went to Harvard to No, no, no,
- 22:47Speaker 1: Landry Fields. Oh Landry Fields. Huh? Which Dall State? She said,
- 22:55Speaker 1: Landry Fields. No he didn't. I don't know. Yeah, but
- 23:06Speaker 1: obviously Mellow's out when the insanity thing, you know, gets crazy,
- 23:11Speaker 1: he comes back. Was there like a weird dynamic within
- 23:16Speaker 1: the team when Mellow came back, like with the insanity
- 23:20Speaker 1: shit just kind of starting to tail off? What you mean?
- 23:22Speaker 1: Was it a weird way because obviously when that when
- 23:26Speaker 1: that started, like Mellow was out with was out with
- 23:28Speaker 1: an injury, right, yeah, he pulled his growing though it
- 23:30Speaker 1: was like a week. It was a week, Okay, Okay,
- 23:32Speaker 1: I just remember that, like like if you watch the
- 23:34Speaker 1: sports shows. But that's what I'm saying about the sports show.
- 23:36Speaker 1: It's like you got the media now doing all that.
- 23:40Speaker 1: It's like, I guess that's what I'm asking. Was there
- 23:42Speaker 1: a weird energy when Mellow came back? Or was it
- 23:44Speaker 1: Mellow as happy as hell and he was super happy
- 23:46Speaker 1: that he like, Bro, I can finally rest y'all win it.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Mellow wasn't even healthy when he first came because it
- 23:52Speaker 1: was a lockout year. So it's like when Mellow got hurt,
- 23:55Speaker 1: it was like he putting this on his back stat
- 23:58Speaker 1: in and out the lineup. Mello really got us on
- 24:01Speaker 1: his back playing forty minutes in November, you know what
- 24:06Speaker 1: I'm saying to where it's like I didn't understand it
- 24:08Speaker 1: back then. But it's like, Bro, the Vets ain't supposed
- 24:10Speaker 1: to be that heavy on they knees right now. We're
- 24:13Speaker 1: supposed to wait till we get to the meat and
- 24:15Speaker 1: potatoes of the season. But you think that's that's what
- 24:16Speaker 1: everyone would always get on the bron about that, Like
- 24:19Speaker 1: in the beginning of the season he might take some
- 24:20Speaker 1: possessions off or he might you know what I mean. Like,
- 24:22Speaker 1: but it's like, yo, it's the end of the season
- 24:24Speaker 1: is what matters, right, especially if you're a Shmello was
- 24:27Speaker 1: dealing with that type stuff and then he set out
- 24:34Speaker 1: and he was happy because he actually got some rests.
- 24:36Speaker 1: He actually had some real like when he came back.
- 24:39Speaker 1: The issue is never with uh jay Len. He was
- 24:44Speaker 1: bumping hands with Dan Tony. The style that Jaylen needed
- 24:51Speaker 1: was basically putting Mellow in a messed up spot because
- 24:55Speaker 1: he's like, I'm kind of you're putting us in something
- 24:58Speaker 1: that I'm sort of like ruining his possessions at time
- 25:02Speaker 1: because you know what I'm saying, We're playing two totally
- 25:05Speaker 1: different games, but you're trying to put us on the
- 25:06Speaker 1: court at the same time. Like's not it's not working out.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Like Mello's thing was when that man come in when
- 25:12Speaker 1: we need him to for a stretch to do X,
- 25:14Speaker 1: Y and Z, let's run that offense this way right
- 25:17Speaker 1: and then give me a break right here, and then
- 25:19Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And it was like they
- 25:21Speaker 1: just weren't. I don't know if Mello seemed to controller
- 25:24Speaker 1: because Mellow usually don't say much to a coach, you
- 25:26Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, But Yeahda and Tony from what
- 25:28Speaker 1: I understand, like you know again, I'm a Suns fan,
- 25:30Speaker 1: so seven seconds or less era, you know exactly, which
- 25:34Speaker 1: is why it was like Mello understood, like this is
- 25:37Speaker 1: what you like, like Jaylen come in quick decisions happen
- 25:40Speaker 1: in wooh wooh. But he's like, gee, I'm just not
- 25:43Speaker 1: You're not that nugget. Yeah, I'm not Carmelo from the
- 25:46Speaker 1: Nuggets that's trying to one foot on the breakaway all
- 25:50Speaker 1: day long. Like he's like just a lockout year. You
- 25:53Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Let me pick my spots, getting
- 25:55Speaker 1: my rhythm so that when we do into the playoffs,
- 25:58Speaker 1: I'm ready to go. Like he like I gotta be
- 26:00Speaker 1: in my bag and he like we're not playing at
- 26:02Speaker 1: this tempo during the playoffs. You know what I'm saying,
- 26:05Speaker 1: Like that's how you felt. That makes like when they
- 26:08Speaker 1: when they start bumping heads, it was like, yeah, media
- 26:11Speaker 1: is going crazy. Everybody's tweaking all we need to make
- 26:14Speaker 1: all these changes and shit, and it's like in all actuality, Bro,
- 26:17Speaker 1: were playing a game like every other day. Me and
- 26:19Speaker 1: jay Len don't know shit. We just winging it. You
- 26:22Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I'm like, Bro, I had a
- 26:24Speaker 1: good rookie season strictly based off me loving basketball and
- 26:28Speaker 1: just being like fuck the other side. You know what
- 26:30Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like, that's the only reason because you finished
- 26:32Speaker 1: like I think top five and Rookie of the Year voting, right,
- 26:35Speaker 1: I just tore my knee up. If I would have
- 26:37Speaker 1: tore my knee up and had I wouldn't have toren
- 26:39Speaker 1: my knee up and had a good playoff stint, Like, yeah,
- 26:42Speaker 1: I would have felt way better going in my second year.
- 26:44Speaker 1: But it was like literally every year in the summer,
- 26:47Speaker 1: I had to get some sort of surgery. We always
- 26:49Speaker 1: think I took. I think I took. I had two
- 26:51Speaker 1: years in the league where I didn't get a surgery
- 26:53Speaker 1: and something. Yeah, you had a lot of I feel
- 26:55Speaker 1: like injuries were always kind of like a thing that
- 26:58Speaker 1: plagued you throughout your you know your you know, they
- 27:00Speaker 1: ain't play me. That's just that's just basketball, right, Well,
- 27:03Speaker 1: it ain't basketball because they don't do it. That's like
- 27:05Speaker 1: how I got paid, because it's like for some reason
- 27:09Speaker 1: they act like they can't run through a screen and
- 27:11Speaker 1: deal with whatever come with it. And it was like
- 27:14Speaker 1: I never really cared. I'm like, charge it to the game, bro,
- 27:17Speaker 1: that's war, you know what I'm saying. Like that's how
- 27:19Speaker 1: I be feeling about it, Like yeah, I'm limping the
- 27:22Speaker 1: next day and shit, but it's just like charge it, bro,
- 27:25Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I'll just be looking around
- 27:28Speaker 1: the league and seeing like when guys die on screens
- 27:31Speaker 1: or they chasing the guy down. It's like, Bro, you
- 27:34Speaker 1: know you're supposed to dive on that, but they just
- 27:36Speaker 1: don't want to do it, just in case they was
- 27:38Speaker 1: to get hurt, because they can in the game they could.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I done seen minds that in the game they could remember,
- 27:43Speaker 1: like I don't do that, you can get hurt. Got
- 27:46Speaker 1: to finish with fifteen points, and I'm like, Bro, I
- 27:48Speaker 1: can't remember that in the game. I have no clue
- 27:51Speaker 1: how many points I have. No, I don't care. Like
- 27:54Speaker 1: the ball laying there, I'm not trying to I'm diving
- 27:57Speaker 1: on it, and I'd love for us to run into
- 27:58Speaker 1: each other. So you're seeing that's like a conscious thing
- 28:01Speaker 1: that players will. It's a lot of recognize, Hey, look,
- 28:04Speaker 1: we don't go after these kind of balls because it
- 28:05Speaker 1: can suck up the bag. I've had guys tell me, emon,
- 28:08Speaker 1: stop doing that. Why are you going? Why are you
- 28:12Speaker 1: doing that? Like what are you doing? I'm like, Bro,
- 28:14Speaker 1: it's a loose ball. They like, damn, you have no
- 28:18Speaker 1: chance at that rock. I'm like, Bro. In the middle
- 28:20Speaker 1: of the game though, like you know, like in the championship,
- 28:24Speaker 1: you're gonna go for it too, you know what. I'm
- 28:26Speaker 1: saying it's like, gee, I think I could get to that,
- 28:28Speaker 1: Like that's how I be feeling. I think I could
- 28:29Speaker 1: get to it. Like so I'm gonna try. You know
- 28:31Speaker 1: what I'm saying, I'm a fuck it And I think
- 28:35Speaker 1: a lot of times like yeah, I would get hurt
- 28:37Speaker 1: and they'll literally be like, Bro, just shit your ass down,
- 28:39Speaker 1: like you ain't even have to do that, like you
- 28:41Speaker 1: ran through that screen. Now you sitting out for two games,
- 28:44Speaker 1: Like why do you keep doing that? And I'm just
- 28:46Speaker 1: like gee, Like sometimes I be feeling like this is
- 28:48Speaker 1: the three that's gonna decide the game. Like I don't
- 28:50Speaker 1: know why I'm like that, but I just am like, Bro,
- 28:53Speaker 1: he can't have it. I don't want him to have it,
- 28:56Speaker 1: or it'd be some ship. Whereas like like when I
- 28:58Speaker 1: messed my wrist up literally just getting ready for the
- 29:01Speaker 1: season and I'm dunking too hard, but it's like, Bro,
- 29:03Speaker 1: I want it bad, like I want it real bad.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I can't. I don't have that presence of mind to
- 29:09Speaker 1: be like, all lay this up because you could mess
- 29:12Speaker 1: your wrists up on the rim. It's like, Bro, doundunked
- 29:14Speaker 1: this a million times as hard as I could and
- 29:16Speaker 1: never messed up my wrist today, I messed up my wrists.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Like that's crazy, man, Little stuff like that. But that's
- 29:22Speaker 1: you got to charge it to the game. Man. Life
- 29:24Speaker 1: ain't so. But I feel like you had a great
- 29:26Speaker 1: career though. I mean, obviously, I feel like when we
- 29:28Speaker 1: look back at, you know, at least my favorite memories
- 29:32Speaker 1: in basketball the last decade, you're a part of those.
- 29:34Speaker 1: You know, I'm part of a lot of history now, yeah, man,
- 29:38Speaker 1: a lot of history. Whether they let me back in
- 29:40Speaker 1: or not, I'm part of what was there? Was there
- 29:42Speaker 1: like any sort of serious like, I mean, obviously it's basketball,
- 29:46Speaker 1: so I'm using the word hatred sports hatred, But was
- 29:48Speaker 1: it like what was like the disdain you guys had
- 29:51Speaker 1: for the Warriors during those years? Yeah, we ain't fuck
- 29:54Speaker 1: with them. I ain't like them. I'm a huge fan
- 30:00Speaker 1: and of all of them. Now though it's crazy, even
- 30:06Speaker 1: even like down to Draymond, Like we had this thing.
- 30:08Speaker 1: It's like you hate to play against Draymond, but like
- 30:11Speaker 1: it's really hard not to like dude speak with his chest,
- 30:16Speaker 1: say what he feel, passionate about the game, he come
- 30:20Speaker 1: on the court, not to like you, like he's the
- 30:23Speaker 1: kind of guy who you hate, but you would love
- 30:25Speaker 1: if he was. If he was that team, we're gonna
- 30:28Speaker 1: be the best of friends. But it's like he want
- 30:30Speaker 1: to go to war. He don't want to play. Like
- 30:32Speaker 1: he's one of the guys that's like helping basketball. He's
- 30:37Speaker 1: doing what I like. Like he one of those guys.
- 30:39Speaker 1: He's a blend guy, a glue guy. Like you need
- 30:42Speaker 1: him around, you know what I'm saying, You need his
- 30:44Speaker 1: voice around his whatever. Like Clay another guy keep his
- 30:49Speaker 1: head down, he gonna shoot it. I loved playing against
- 30:53Speaker 1: Clay because Clay is one of the only people like
- 30:56Speaker 1: I done got in my battles with Kyle kor JJ Reddick,
- 31:00Speaker 1: all of them push off, get mad. I'm all over
- 31:02Speaker 1: roughing them up, talking shit to him. You know what
- 31:05Speaker 1: I'm saying. Klay Thompson does not complain the refs like
- 31:11Speaker 1: he's not gonna do the oh ref look at him.
- 31:13Speaker 1: He God, man, you gravitate Klay Thompson. You holding him?
- 31:17Speaker 1: That man goes chop your wrists down so fast. And
- 31:21Speaker 1: I was like, bro, I love this young light skiing brother. Man.
- 31:25Speaker 1: This dude don't care. Man, he willing to fight me.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Like That's how I felt about Clay. I'm like, Clay
- 31:30Speaker 1: is willing to fight me, bro, just to get off
- 31:33Speaker 1: this screen. He doesn't care. He looked dead at the
- 31:35Speaker 1: ref and pushed me off, like hands to my neck push,
- 31:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna fall back like this they call the offensive
- 31:42Speaker 1: foul and Clay just ran down the court like he
- 31:45Speaker 1: didn't give a fuck, like and I was like, I
- 31:47Speaker 1: love these dudes. I just hate him for now. I
- 31:49Speaker 1: hate them. Yeah, it felt like cause you got to
- 31:52Speaker 1: keep seeing them, and it felt like a serious like,
- 31:54Speaker 1: I mean, one of the more I feel like the
- 31:56Speaker 1: probably the most serious basketball beef, beef that we've seen
- 32:00Speaker 1: since the nineties. It was two different styles, and we
- 32:05Speaker 1: kind of knew. We all knew, like, whoever wins the
- 32:09Speaker 1: most of this this little war we got going on,
- 32:13Speaker 1: whoever wins the most chips? Basketball is headed in that style.
- 32:17Speaker 1: That's what was scary about. Like we knew it meant
- 32:20Speaker 1: more because we like, bro, like the kids are gonna
- 32:25Speaker 1: either continue to go to the post and want to
- 32:28Speaker 1: shoot fadeaways or they gonna think this shit, Okay just
- 32:32Speaker 1: shooting this ship from half court. Ship like we was talking, No,
- 32:36Speaker 1: we've been talking about this ship, Like I remember me
- 32:38Speaker 1: and Switch like, man, you want to shoot that ship
- 32:40Speaker 1: from forty, Let him shoot that ship from forty. Fuck him?
- 32:42Speaker 1: Like that's the conversation me. And so I'm gonna come, hey, switchman,
- 32:46Speaker 1: fucking you wanna shoot that ship from forty. Let him
- 32:48Speaker 1: shoot that ship from forty. Dogs shoot that all night, nigga,
- 32:51Speaker 1: Like that's what we That's how I'm feeling when I'm
- 32:53Speaker 1: really on the court, like a let him, bro, I
- 32:56Speaker 1: wish you would pull pull pull that, bro, please for
- 32:59Speaker 1: we go. It is down y'all throat, like, please shoot that.
- 33:02Speaker 1: That's how we felt about it till this little motherfucker
- 33:05Speaker 1: started making it. Yeah, but it's like once he started
- 33:08Speaker 1: making it now t Lou looking at us at the
- 33:09Speaker 1: drawing board like, hey, y'all gonna get out there, show
- 33:12Speaker 1: what we gonna do. You shocked you shocked him making
- 33:16Speaker 1: it now like it got to that point, It's like, Bro,
- 33:19Speaker 1: when I think about it now, I'm just like, Bro,
- 33:24Speaker 1: I don't I keep saying basketball changed, like they ruined
- 33:29Speaker 1: it type of thing, But I'm like, you ruined the
- 33:31Speaker 1: version that I like. I just feel like it's just
- 33:35Speaker 1: it's just a version. I like when you really when
- 33:37Speaker 1: you really think about it, pound for pound, how basketball
- 33:40Speaker 1: it is today. It's scary how good they are. This
- 33:43Speaker 1: is true. I feel like there's more good players now
- 33:45Speaker 1: than ever as far as like skilled, skilled or just
- 33:48Speaker 1: like skilled. Basically literally weeded out the other stuff, like
- 33:53Speaker 1: the blended stuff. If you think about some of the
- 33:55Speaker 1: guys that used to make All Star teams, there was
- 33:57Speaker 1: guys that used to make All Star teams in the
- 33:59Speaker 1: nineties that you like, you would like look back at
- 34:01Speaker 1: some of the All Star rosters in like the early nineties,
- 34:03Speaker 1: and you'd be like, yo, he made an All Star team.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Like now it's like the people who are wait, what
- 34:09Speaker 1: are you talking about? I mean like sometimes you like
- 34:11Speaker 1: like like like I'm not talking about I'm some about
- 34:13Speaker 1: like early nineties, like I think I saw Terry Cummings
- 34:16Speaker 1: is on an All Star team. There's there's just players
- 34:20Speaker 1: that you think, like, now you can make an All
- 34:24Speaker 1: Star team out of like the top fifteen guys that
- 34:26Speaker 1: didn't make the All Star team. And I feel like
- 34:30Speaker 1: you understand what I'm saying, copy copy copy, Like now
- 34:34Speaker 1: it's like the the the guys who aren't making All
- 34:38Speaker 1: Star teams would have been like you can put a team, Yeah,
- 34:41Speaker 1: it's like insane. Like basketball has changed from like it's
- 34:49Speaker 1: not so much that chessboard anymore. It's checkers. It's not
- 34:54Speaker 1: Great Popovich anymore. It's not chess, it's checkers. It's checkers.
- 34:59Speaker 1: It's king me. This is the most arms race. It's
- 35:02Speaker 1: kingsme like, but it's it's the reason why I say
- 35:06Speaker 1: that is because there's literally no thought involved. Like Damian
- 35:10Speaker 1: Lillard is gonna come down here full speed and jump
- 35:13Speaker 1: and just shoot. Yeah, he's gonna shoot a forty foot
- 35:16Speaker 1: If you step up, that means he's going to the
- 35:18Speaker 1: basket all the way to the basket. But this is
- 35:20Speaker 1: not a foot race. Immediately if he can't get it,
- 35:23Speaker 1: it's to CJ. And it's the same thing, immediate action.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Like I think that the if you go look at
- 35:31Speaker 1: older games. You go watch the game in the eighties,
- 35:35Speaker 1: they sprint the ball up the sideline, they throw the
- 35:38Speaker 1: ball to the corner of the flatt and the defense,
- 35:41Speaker 1: they throw it back up and then they throw it
- 35:43Speaker 1: into the post. You go to the nineties, they took
- 35:46Speaker 1: that same formula, except they threw a shooter into the
- 35:50Speaker 1: corner and then tossed it straight down to the post
- 35:53Speaker 1: and the post. Didn't have to be a big man.
- 35:55Speaker 1: But it's all to fuck up the rotations of the defense.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Now the fuck up is they bringing a ball screen.
- 36:03Speaker 1: They're not even going to the corner of the flat
- 36:05Speaker 1: and the defense or throw it in. They're keeping you
- 36:07Speaker 1: way out. So it's like when the game changing dynamic
- 36:11Speaker 1: like that, when you're watching this shit, I don't know
- 36:14Speaker 1: how other people process it, but like I didn't have
- 36:17Speaker 1: to sit there and like watch you know, I played.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I gotta play to whoever the best player is. So
- 36:21Speaker 1: I get a lot of this watching how they coming
- 36:25Speaker 1: down and being like, bro, their point of attack. Yeah,
- 36:28Speaker 1: you were kind of the guy who defended the best
- 36:30Speaker 1: player on the other kind to deal with that, right,
- 36:32Speaker 1: that was what you So I'm looking at every scheme
- 36:35Speaker 1: like I'm like, bro, like I've literally made it to
- 36:39Speaker 1: Like you got to think my first year in the league,
- 36:41Speaker 1: I had to guard all those in game possessions, so
- 36:44Speaker 1: I'm used to at the end of the game, I'm
- 36:46Speaker 1: about to have to go to the posts and deal
- 36:48Speaker 1: with so much contact and drops and back doors and
- 36:52Speaker 1: shit that I got to deal with in this mold.
- 36:54Speaker 1: And it was like also when you got drafted that
- 36:57Speaker 1: wasn't the best, Like, you're probably the best defensive life
- 37:00Speaker 1: at least one of the best defensive players on that
- 37:02Speaker 1: next team, like not don lot of yourself. I was
- 37:05Speaker 1: the best defensive player. I mean, listen, I don't want
- 37:07Speaker 1: to Tamates. No, you could do it. They were, They
- 37:09Speaker 1: were great on I mean, you know you can do
- 37:10Speaker 1: it if you want to. Nobody at the end of
- 37:13Speaker 1: the game when it go down, you had to pick
- 37:14Speaker 1: up a lot of slack, is what I'm saying. I
- 37:16Speaker 1: mean I had to pick up slack. It just it's
- 37:18Speaker 1: one of them moves, like when you get to the
- 37:20Speaker 1: NBA you start realizing he's grown ass men. This ain't
- 37:23Speaker 1: oh man Melo doesn't know how to guard people? Is nah,
- 37:27Speaker 1: fan Emon, you guard him? I'm finished score forty. Yeah,
- 37:31Speaker 1: that's this grown man ship. This is JR. Literally all
- 37:34Speaker 1: come out there and be like tape, I don't look
- 37:38Speaker 1: handle that. I'm not chasing him. I don't care what
- 37:41Speaker 1: the I don't care what the the plays is, you
- 37:45Speaker 1: know the assignments, and I don't care. You tired, look
- 37:49Speaker 1: guard him. I'm tired. I don't feel like guarding. That's
- 37:51Speaker 1: what JR say and the like all right, cool, that
- 37:54Speaker 1: was my job, Like what you tired? But Stat died
- 37:59Speaker 1: on the screen and I had to guard the four man.
- 38:01Speaker 1: That's when they first realized I started doing the strip.
- 38:04Speaker 1: He was down a lot of screens. But that's when
- 38:06Speaker 1: they As a Suns fan, one of the more frustrating
- 38:10Speaker 1: guys to love is But that's why a T shirt
- 38:12Speaker 1: right now, That's why I come in. That's what I'm saying.
- 38:14Speaker 1: I come That's why they like flaying with me though,
- 38:17Speaker 1: because it was like how he didn't average more rebounds.
- 38:19Speaker 1: It was just the most frustrating shit ever as a fan.
- 38:21Speaker 1: What all time with the Sons? Yeah, I'm like, bro,
- 38:24Speaker 1: you should have had twelve twelve games, you gotta miss
- 38:26Speaker 1: eight nine. Y'all wasn't missing much so he ain't got
- 38:29Speaker 1: no offensive rebounds, all defensive rebounds. Let me ask you
- 38:33Speaker 1: about this. It's crazy. People really don't be thinking it through, Like,
- 38:37Speaker 1: think about it. Stat would have had fifteen to twenty
- 38:39Speaker 1: rebounds a game, but Steve Nash had them winning and scoring.
- 38:43Speaker 1: That bitch that was offensively. The defensively, yeah, he go
- 38:47Speaker 1: corral some rebounds offensively, ain't no tapping it back in nothing,
- 38:52Speaker 1: It's water all the other said, wait, hold on, time
- 38:57Speaker 1: to stop the interview, because we got to talk about

- 39:53Speaker 1: support us, go support them, Was it like always? You know,
- 39:57Speaker 1: I feel like Kyrie cooke Steph in the most important
- 39:59Speaker 1: moment in those series, did you guys look at him
- 40:04Speaker 1: as like a like like, Yo, this is a target
- 40:07Speaker 1: we gotta get Kyrie switched on to Steph? Like was
- 40:09Speaker 1: Kyrie like always, Like wasn't a secret because I remember
- 40:13Speaker 1: when Kyrie got like that last shot that in twenty sixteen,
- 40:16Speaker 1: Like when Kyrie had step switched on to him, he
- 40:20Speaker 1: had that look in his eyes like this is oh
- 40:22Speaker 1: we was talking shit. Uh those was one of that
- 40:28Speaker 1: time that we had for that was Uh, I can't
- 40:34Speaker 1: remember what game it was. Kyle came off a screen
- 40:40Speaker 1: and Steph didn't even try and Kyle, I believe he
- 40:47Speaker 1: came he rescreened it because it was like a dummy
- 40:49Speaker 1: screen and he re screened it, which Steph's supposed to
- 40:53Speaker 1: immediately fight to switch back. And I'll never forget Steph
- 40:59Speaker 1: going with the roller like he like made it his
- 41:03Speaker 1: business that he was not guarding ky and we all
- 41:08Speaker 1: kind of like looked around like you know what I'm saying,
- 41:11Speaker 1: like what is what scheme is that? What are they doing?
- 41:13Speaker 1: So broun Bron never lets you off the hook. If
- 41:16Speaker 1: he sees something, he's gonna exploit it. I want to say.
- 41:21Speaker 1: We did the same play the next time. They switched again,
- 41:24Speaker 1: and then bron called the next time out and basically
- 41:29Speaker 1: told t Lou all bets off. He has to guard him,
- 41:32Speaker 1: he don't want to guard him. Well, by the end
- 41:34Speaker 1: of that game, you could watch stuff on the screen
- 41:37Speaker 1: like like like it was I have never seen that.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I have never seen. Yeah, he didn't. He didn't draw
- 41:46Speaker 1: the line until like game six. Game six, he drew
- 41:50Speaker 1: the line. He was like, y'all not finna. Yeah, he
- 41:53Speaker 1: started like slapping the floor type ship like nah, fuck
- 41:55Speaker 1: that come on, Like now, y'all just disrespected me, like
- 41:58Speaker 1: y'all not finna pick on me like a little kid.
- 42:00Speaker 1: But for a second though, it was like because I
- 42:02Speaker 1: had never seen somebody do that unless it's like you
- 42:04Speaker 1: got five foules and you can't touch somebody, Like that's
- 42:07Speaker 1: one thing. Yeah, that's one thing. You're protecting yourself. So
- 42:10Speaker 1: they had like two fouls and he's just like the
- 42:12Speaker 1: fourth quarter and he like, yo, somebody come get you
- 42:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like you could tell he just
- 42:17Speaker 1: was like, man, bro, I don't know what to do
- 42:19Speaker 1: with him and we need to stop right now. So
- 42:21Speaker 1: he just wanted somebody else on him. But then when
- 42:23Speaker 1: we start picking on him, like you, he starts seeing
- 42:25Speaker 1: like every thing is for like either your guarding Kyrie
- 42:30Speaker 1: or you're guarding Lebron this play, but you're gonna play defense.
- 42:33Speaker 1: You're not. You're not gonna have no legs for the
- 42:35Speaker 1: rest of this series. That's what we was on. And
- 42:37Speaker 1: then with Clay, it was just like I was just
- 42:39Speaker 1: trying to beat him up as best I could. Yeah, Clay,
- 42:41Speaker 1: get you gotta do what you can do, right man.
- 42:43Speaker 1: It was like we just gonna keep on pressing at
- 42:47Speaker 1: Clay and keep on doing as much sprinting sidelines as
- 42:50Speaker 1: we can to keep him dealing with back doors and
- 42:53Speaker 1: happen to stay disciplined. And then with Steph Curry, You're
- 42:58Speaker 1: now gonna guard Lebron like you're gonna use your turbo
- 43:01Speaker 1: every possession on defense. What do you think is the
- 43:06Speaker 1: biggest misconception about Lebron James For someone who's been in
- 43:09Speaker 1: the trenches with him, he's my favorite player ever, so,
- 43:12Speaker 1: like you know, I kind of feel like he gets
- 43:15Speaker 1: a lot of He lost in the finals. That's that's
- 43:21Speaker 1: why people have that stigma of him. He is undeniably
- 43:26Speaker 1: like when you on paper, this is the best athlete.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I don't think we've seen a better one that can
- 43:33Speaker 1: speak in public. Uh, be great with his family, give
- 43:38Speaker 1: us a great you know what I'm saying. Like performance
- 43:42Speaker 1: every night in a bullshit. He's not gonna get drunk
- 43:45Speaker 1: to night before and have a terrible game or something.
- 43:48Speaker 1: He's not gonna give us a some like dirty plays.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Like the worst thing we had against Lebron was like, Bro,
- 43:57Speaker 1: why are you flopping? And literally he started flopping because
- 44:00Speaker 1: he's like, Bro, I gotta get these free throws. If
- 44:02Speaker 1: these people getting free throws. Like he's like, bro, I'm
- 44:04Speaker 1: really getting hit. So he like, I'll sell it for
- 44:07Speaker 1: you since they can't see it. Because I'm so strong,
- 44:09Speaker 1: y'all can't see me getting foul, So I gotta go
- 44:11Speaker 1: like this to show y'all he just raked my arm.
- 44:14Speaker 1: But it's like, besides that, bro Bron has gone out
- 44:18Speaker 1: here every night and played hard. Of course he gonna
- 44:21Speaker 1: have his times. He take off a day or two whatever,
- 44:23Speaker 1: I get it. You get tired. But I don't know
- 44:28Speaker 1: who's been more faithful to their just being disciplined into
- 44:32Speaker 1: the game, like Ron knows every scheme, knows every coach,
- 44:39Speaker 1: knows every player, he knows players in college. You know
- 44:41Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like, when we're talking about shit like this,
- 44:45Speaker 1: He's put together an amazing body of work. I'd say
- 44:48Speaker 1: the misconception with him is that them losses came from
- 44:53Speaker 1: a lack of what he's capable of, and it's not.
- 44:57Speaker 1: It's I think his losses is just his style. That's
- 45:02Speaker 1: just how it goes because Bron plays it the right way.
- 45:05Speaker 1: At the end of the game, when Mike says, I
- 45:07Speaker 1: don't give a fuck what happens, I'm shooting this shot,
- 45:11Speaker 1: Bron says, I'm gonna get to this spot and shoot.
- 45:15Speaker 1: But if I get here and any one of them
- 45:17Speaker 1: is flinching off of their man, I'm beaming it to
- 45:19Speaker 1: that man and he'll be And to be fair, I mean, look, Mike,
- 45:23Speaker 1: also John Paxton and Steve Kerr, and you know, there's
- 45:26Speaker 1: there was times where he did the same thing. So
- 45:29Speaker 1: I thought he was gonna say, did you know what
- 45:32Speaker 1: I'm saying that there was no. No, there was times
- 45:34Speaker 1: where he also, you know, at the end of very
- 45:37Speaker 1: important games, found the open man talking about Steve Kurr,
- 45:40Speaker 1: John Paxson, you know, those those But I think I
- 45:44Speaker 1: also I think of the luck of the draw to
- 45:47Speaker 1: like if you just think of like what Lebron had
- 45:51Speaker 1: to go through all those years, because I always hear
- 45:53Speaker 1: people say, well, the East was like a cakewalk, right like,
- 45:57Speaker 1: and I disagree as far as you know, your guys's
- 46:01Speaker 1: passed to the finals those years, it was just we
- 46:03Speaker 1: was just a We was a juggernaut team. So it's like, yeah,
- 46:07Speaker 1: it looked like the East was like that because we
- 46:11Speaker 1: was running through it. The East wasn't easier. But I
- 46:13Speaker 1: just think like just the Warriors before the Warriors became
- 46:21Speaker 1: the LIT team, It's not even I think like the
- 46:26Speaker 1: Warriors had to go get Kevin Durant to fuck with
- 46:31Speaker 1: y'all for sure, period because well no, they didn't have to.
- 46:34Speaker 1: They didn't have to because they needed it to like
- 46:36Speaker 1: to feel superior. Yes, And to me, that is like, yo,
- 46:40Speaker 1: like you you know, I think the twenty sixteen Ring
- 46:43Speaker 1: is probably the hardest ring I've ever seen one. It's
- 46:46Speaker 1: probably the most meaningful championship at least in my lifetime. Yeah, yeah,
- 46:50Speaker 1: I'm being honest. I mean, you guys beat the seventy
- 46:53Speaker 1: three and nine Warriors don't and no one ever even
- 46:56Speaker 1: gives like that regular season it means shit because they
- 46:59Speaker 1: didn't win the ring. This is true, and I almost
- 47:03Speaker 1: feel like the two rings after that, like what did
- 47:07Speaker 1: you want? Like, I mean that was four All Stars
- 47:09Speaker 1: starting on the other side of that. I mean, but
- 47:11Speaker 1: you I remember at one point people were saying Steph
- 47:16Speaker 1: was gonna be out the league, like he had bad ankles.
- 47:22Speaker 1: I remember early on, Yeah, they was talking about this
- 47:26Speaker 1: man when he was winning all this shit. He was MVP.
- 47:28Speaker 1: That man was on a forty million dollar contract. Bro,
- 47:31Speaker 1: it's crazy they was done with him and this is
- 47:35Speaker 1: the ship that be, Like this is why I got
- 47:38Speaker 1: over them all playing together because I'm like, bro, no bullshit.
- 47:42Speaker 1: I remember when they used to talk shit about Steph
- 47:44Speaker 1: Curry and Glay Thompson. Well, those guys, the core group
- 47:47Speaker 1: they all drafted, which is the one thing I can
- 47:48Speaker 1: never take away from the words I'm saying. It's hard
- 47:51Speaker 1: to say they got four All Stars. They just it's
- 47:54Speaker 1: just the KD shit. Man. They was just whooping ass
- 47:57Speaker 1: like and became all start like Draymond Green was one
- 47:59Speaker 1: of them guys that people quote unquote say isn't an
- 48:02Speaker 1: All Star, but it's like, bro, he mean that much
- 48:04Speaker 1: to them. Like we knew in game five when that
- 48:07Speaker 1: man didn't play, we saw how different they was. I'm like, bro,
- 48:11Speaker 1: no it wasn't game five, game six. If he plays
- 48:14Speaker 1: game six, do you guys think you still win the ring?
- 48:17Speaker 1: It'd be tough. They're a different ball club. When they
- 48:20Speaker 1: were there, was like it was like no bulls. It
- 48:25Speaker 1: was like coming up to the park and beating up
- 48:27Speaker 1: on some kids and they big brother just ain't there
- 48:30Speaker 1: right now. That's what it felt like. It felt like
- 48:32Speaker 1: we just came up to the park and bust y'all last,
- 48:35Speaker 1: and y'all big homie wasn't here, and we beat y'all last,
- 48:38Speaker 1: Like we just beat y'all lass. Y'all ain't doing shit
- 48:41Speaker 1: about it, y'all. Now y'all calling dude, he got to
- 48:44Speaker 1: come back up to the park this next game. We
- 48:47Speaker 1: just hated the war bro that I haven't and then
- 48:52Speaker 1: we were game six, Like you saw the like concern
- 48:54Speaker 1: in their face. They was like, man, we do not
- 48:56Speaker 1: want to go back to go to state dealing with
- 48:58Speaker 1: these people, because now they were just looking like they
- 49:00Speaker 1: was just defeated and now they look like blood thirsty
- 49:03Speaker 1: for a win, like they kind of felt the energy.
- 49:06Speaker 1: But the cool thing about that whole ship, like I
- 49:12Speaker 1: don't think we would have known that, Like Draymond, what
- 49:16Speaker 1: do you do? Hit bron and the ball? Yeah, he
- 49:17Speaker 1: kept flinging his leg like it's crazy. Everything happen for
- 49:21Speaker 1: a reason because it's like Bro, we would have never
- 49:23Speaker 1: picked out how important Draymond was. Well. Also, if we
- 49:27Speaker 1: that if we do the what if game, Kyrie is
- 49:30Speaker 1: healthy in twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen, you guys probably have
- 49:33Speaker 1: that ring as well if we're playing the what if game?
- 49:35Speaker 1: And then KD would have came to the cast. Oh,
- 49:39Speaker 1: shout out to Kevin Durant. I met him with I
- 49:43Speaker 1: got listen. I got a shout out to Katie because
- 49:47Speaker 1: I have been a KD at a certain point in time.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Was I really liked the Thunder when they were young,
- 49:55Speaker 1: and then I was as a fan his fan hate.
- 50:00Speaker 1: I definitely had a lot of fan hate for him
- 50:02Speaker 1: when he went to the Warriors and me and Freddy
- 50:05Speaker 1: Gibbs went over to his crib last year and he
- 50:09Speaker 1: was the nicest dude ever. And I had a Rex
- 50:12Speaker 1: Chapman throwback Sun's jersey and we talked about my d
- 50:14Speaker 1: He was just the nicest dude. So I had to
- 50:16Speaker 1: call my homies and be like, Yo, Mank's not sensitive?
- 50:21Speaker 1: Are we sure he's got the burner? He might be
- 50:24Speaker 1: sensitive to the general public and ship? Right, you know
- 50:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying, I ain't got nothing to do with that.
- 50:30Speaker 1: I'm not general Pop. You feel I'm not Jim Pop.
- 50:34Speaker 1: I ain't got nothing to do with that. Like, if
- 50:36Speaker 1: you want to be awkward over Twitter and you got
- 50:39Speaker 1: fence to, you know, I just found out what fence
- 50:41Speaker 1: to is, Joe. I thought it was a different app.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Is you having a fake Instagram? It's what Katie had.
- 50:47Speaker 1: It's a burner account, but it's on Instagram. I know that.
- 50:51Speaker 1: But it's like a whole world of people that got
- 50:53Speaker 1: this ship. I bet I'm thinking that it's a whole
- 50:56Speaker 1: what's the thing. Yeah, this is like a real society
- 50:58Speaker 1: people have instance like it's a real secret society that whatever.
- 51:04Speaker 1: But it's like if you if you do that whatever.
- 51:06Speaker 1: I mean, when I'm when I'm around Kto, like well,
- 51:10Speaker 1: like I said, I met him, I kicked it with
- 51:12Speaker 1: him as crabby as super nice dude. But but he's
- 51:14Speaker 1: an open dude, Like you can say true, well, we
- 51:17Speaker 1: can have a basketball conversation and we'd be like, hey man,
- 51:20Speaker 1: fuck you. And he's also like yeah, me and him
- 51:22Speaker 1: had like great, Like I feel like I had conversation
- 51:24Speaker 1: with him, like and he was super open and talking
- 51:27Speaker 1: about hoops, put his guard down to the person. It's
- 51:29Speaker 1: when you when you cast him into what he got
- 51:32Speaker 1: to be and all the other that's when all of
- 51:33Speaker 1: us get uncomfortable. Well, I just think of the Thunder
- 51:36Speaker 1: being up three to one and against the Warriors and
- 51:38Speaker 1: the Western I was going to join him after he lost. Why,
- 51:41Speaker 1: I don't get it hurt my soul? Now, you guys
- 51:44Speaker 1: are I feel like a gang? The Cavaliers were like
- 51:48Speaker 1: you guys, for the most part, the crew was together
- 51:51Speaker 1: through that whole time, right, obviously certain pieces coming and going.
- 51:54Speaker 1: But when you guys got the news that Katie was
- 51:56Speaker 1: joining the Warriors, what was that group chat like this
- 52:03Speaker 1: snake That's how it was. Bro. It was just like,
- 52:06Speaker 1: because you know you're gonna have to see them in
- 52:07Speaker 1: the finals. I'm like, for what, that's what That's how
- 52:10Speaker 1: we all looking like? Huh. They were like, well, we're
- 52:13Speaker 1: Russ got to save That's what we are. Why Rus's
- 52:17Speaker 1: been to save out that shit. That ship is crazy.
- 52:21Speaker 1: But you know it was a wild that lasted all
- 52:24Speaker 1: up until like half the season. Once we had already
- 52:27Speaker 1: saw them one time, it was like all right, bro,
- 52:30Speaker 1: you you made your decision, like you got to stay
- 52:32Speaker 1: over there, a let's beat them. Like now it's like
- 52:35Speaker 1: bumped at, I'm glady over there. Let's deal with this.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Like what year did you get traded from the Cabs?
- 52:40Speaker 1: Was it twenty eighteen? Twenty nineteen? Oh no, bro, did
- 52:43Speaker 1: you got it from the Cabs? You went to the Kings.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Y'all gonna have to google that is eighteen been eighteen?
- 52:49Speaker 1: What trade was that? A part of I don't even know, bro.
- 52:53Speaker 1: They were just trying to get me out of their kid.
- 52:55Speaker 1: At that point you had to give me up out
- 52:57Speaker 1: of there. I had to go. It wasn't you know
- 53:00Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like it was at some point it
- 53:06Speaker 1: wasn't gonna work out with all of us. It just
- 53:08Speaker 1: wasn't enough basketballs because you gotta think we don't one
- 53:12Speaker 1: now we're going into the next transition year. I was
- 53:15Speaker 1: already in their ear, like, hey, bro, it's time for
- 53:18Speaker 1: me to get the ball back in my hands, like
- 53:20Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like I'm twenty five, I
- 53:23Speaker 1: don't know you know what I mean? Like we got
- 53:26Speaker 1: our ring and shit, I'm like, it's time to groom
- 53:28Speaker 1: me back into my point guard ship. Like I played
- 53:30Speaker 1: y'all game, I ran around in the three and d. Shit,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I was never a three and D guy. It's like
- 53:35Speaker 1: I played, you were a two way player like a motherfucker. Man,
- 53:39Speaker 1: I feel it. I'm a basketball player. Everybody in the
- 53:41Speaker 1: league should be a two way player like a motherfucker.
- 53:43Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. That should be standard, but
- 53:45Speaker 1: it's not, which is weird. But they was trying to
- 53:47Speaker 1: hype me up, like you're a three and D guy,
- 53:49Speaker 1: like you can guard people. Yeah, everybody should be able
- 53:52Speaker 1: to do that. That's pride, that ain't you know what
- 53:54Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like that's being a grown up. I don't
- 53:56Speaker 1: know what to fucking tell you, Like, yeah, I'll curry
- 53:59Speaker 1: over here play defense for free, bro, Like I don't
- 54:02Speaker 1: I don't really care, Like whatever did you part of
- 54:05Speaker 1: the game. But I felt like it's time for your
- 54:07Speaker 1: min to go back to playing point guard. And when
- 54:09Speaker 1: I became that and I became bullheaded and that it
- 54:12Speaker 1: was like he got to get out of here. Well,
- 54:14Speaker 1: because you were a certain point in time. I don't
- 54:16Speaker 1: remember what I got traded. I was gonna say a
- 54:17Speaker 1: certain point in time you were like the you were
- 54:19Speaker 1: running point for the Cavs, like a bit here and there. Yeah,
- 54:22Speaker 1: here and there. Yeah, I remember that. That was the
- 54:24Speaker 1: That was the issue. It was like, bro, it can't
- 54:27Speaker 1: be a tease me type of thing. I'm like, Kyrie
- 54:29Speaker 1: like to shoot that mog anyway. I don't know why
- 54:31Speaker 1: y'all forcing him to play. Did you see the Kyrie
- 54:34Speaker 1: thing festering? Because the most surprising thing to me was
- 54:37Speaker 1: when he asked to leave. Did you see that coming
- 54:40Speaker 1: at all? I don't really, but I've like we all
- 54:45Speaker 1: meant like I think people read into it a little
- 54:48Speaker 1: too hard sometimes, like as a man, how you wake
- 54:54Speaker 1: up today ain't gonna be the same as tomorrow, you
- 54:56Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. It's like it's stuff that he
- 54:59Speaker 1: didn't dealing with talking directly to ownership that you know,
- 55:03Speaker 1: a little past our pay grade if you're not the
- 55:05Speaker 1: guy on the team. What I mean. So it's like
- 55:08Speaker 1: all the stuff that was happening behind the scenes. We
- 55:10Speaker 1: didn't know Kyrie had been there longer than anybody, you
- 55:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Uh, that's a deeper rooted conversation
- 55:19Speaker 1: for him, Like we didn't. It didn't really I ain't
- 55:25Speaker 1: see it coming. It wasn't a shock though. I say
- 55:28Speaker 1: that way. I knew Kyrie wanted some things to change
- 55:33Speaker 1: just based upon him being him and being there that long.
- 55:38Speaker 1: And it's hard to do that when we don't know
- 55:40Speaker 1: whose Batman is. Kyrie is like y'all going back and
- 55:43Speaker 1: forth with when I'm Batman and I don't like it.
- 55:46Speaker 1: That's fair, you know what I'm saying. And that's what
- 55:48Speaker 1: was tough. It's just like you got so many people here.
- 55:50Speaker 1: It's like even when JR. Has these moments, that's one
- 55:54Speaker 1: of the best heat checked players ever. Yeah, but it's
- 55:56Speaker 1: like you got the moments. You gotta have the moments
- 55:58Speaker 1: where it's like, hey, bro, I guess I played with
- 56:00Speaker 1: mellow I play you know what I'm saying, Like I
- 56:02Speaker 1: get it. Also when he like the young guy that
- 56:05Speaker 1: shoots the wild shots and y'all want to talk about
- 56:07Speaker 1: my shot selection and shit, but he like, at some
- 56:10Speaker 1: point it's end of the game. That's a ten year vet.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Throw that bitch in there and let him play with
- 56:16Speaker 1: his back to the basket. Like at some point we
- 56:18Speaker 1: got to activate him to see if he turns into
- 56:21Speaker 1: what he's supposed to. But that's the issue, Like they
- 56:23Speaker 1: don't do that. They'll just leave you in that role
- 56:25Speaker 1: and you got to play it for twenty years, you
- 56:27Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Like that's where players become unhappy,
- 56:31Speaker 1: where they're like, I'm sitting here, like when you watch
- 56:33Speaker 1: your favorite players, you'd like I watched the development of them.
- 56:36Speaker 1: Like you watch a guy come into the league and
- 56:39Speaker 1: then he can't do this or he can't do that,
- 56:40Speaker 1: and they put this, put this, put this, and then
- 56:43Speaker 1: it's like now year five, they like, all right, let's
- 56:45Speaker 1: see what he is. You know what I'm saying, let's
- 56:46Speaker 1: really go for this title. And it's like you look
- 56:49Speaker 1: at it now, and it's like, can he do it
- 56:51Speaker 1: right now? What can you do for us right now?
- 56:53Speaker 1: If they don't have it, trade him some real shit
- 56:57Speaker 1: talk about you know what's crazy is I remember the
- 56:59Speaker 1: first time I saw you rapping, I knew you were
- 57:01Speaker 1: like making music, but I saw that Cipher was los
- 57:04Speaker 1: and Travis Thompson, and I forget who else was a
- 57:06Speaker 1: part of that cipher? Oh? Cash, Yeah, it was a
- 57:10Speaker 1: it was a BT. And what's my boy? Who else is?
- 57:22Speaker 1: Who is it? You already said, lo, it was King Los,
- 57:24Speaker 1: it was Travis Thompson, it was you, it was you,
- 57:27Speaker 1: say Cash all, I'm forgetting somebody I'll come back to.
- 57:34Speaker 1: But it was I remember seeing it and being like,
- 57:37Speaker 1: oh shit, you always got mistake for designer, but you
- 57:42Speaker 1: were a better rapper than designer. But nah, but like
- 57:48Speaker 1: you actually, like obviously, this is not something that you
- 57:50Speaker 1: just picked up, you know, because you were bored, Like,
- 57:52Speaker 1: this is something you have been doing for a long time.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Kind of take us back, how long have you been
- 57:57Speaker 1: making music or at least playing with the thought of
- 57:59Speaker 1: like rapping or writing rhymes? Are just developing that writing rhymes?
- 58:04Speaker 1: Probably since like sixth grade, making music and developing what
- 58:10Speaker 1: that was? That was it till my freshman year of
- 58:15Speaker 1: high school that I started recording my homie And I
- 58:18Speaker 1: wasn't even like going to a studio. My homie had
- 58:21Speaker 1: the Yeah, he had the new Mac, the new Mac computer.
- 58:26Speaker 1: And with that new Mac computer, they had that built
- 58:29Speaker 1: in mic ah. Yeah, how the garage, throw the headphones
- 58:36Speaker 1: in and then uh he would put the little blanket
- 58:41Speaker 1: up to cancel the noise. And I mean, this is
- 58:45Speaker 1: just still sound all the way great, but uh, we
- 58:50Speaker 1: were selling mixtapes like in high school, selling mixtapes well,
- 58:59Speaker 1: along with other things. But I would package everything together
- 59:02Speaker 1: and get it out to you and it was, yeah,
- 59:06Speaker 1: it was. It was a vibe, man. But that's that's
- 59:08Speaker 1: when I eighth of weed and a mixtape. But it's like,
- 59:12Speaker 1: I know you're gonna listen to it now, but it's
- 59:14Speaker 1: like I was doing mixed CDs, so I was bootlegging
- 59:17Speaker 1: everybody else. Ship Bro me too. That's how I got
- 59:18Speaker 1: my name. But le keV. Literally I was just burning
- 59:21Speaker 1: CDs and I had taken Yeah, I had the two
- 59:25Speaker 1: cdss and everything, the Southern Smokes, everything, all the radios.
- 59:31Speaker 1: I had a folder with the each mixtape cup. I
- 59:36Speaker 1: just took a little online printed out and then put
- 59:40Speaker 1: all them ships in like this binder and ship I
- 59:43Speaker 1: would go. I would go to and I have like
- 59:45Speaker 1: eight versions of the CD stacked on top of each other,
- 59:47Speaker 1: right behind that album. And I was taking I literally
- 59:49Speaker 1: wasn't even like you wouldn't even get the CDK. Sometimes
- 59:52Speaker 1: you just get the CD a piece of paper. I
- 59:55Speaker 1: used to go to the office man with all this
- 59:59Speaker 1: all like put that in right now. You ain't got
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: no case, put it right now. That's so crazy. I
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: used to. I used to like go on the message
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: boards and download all the mixtapes and ship and albums
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: and then uh, I'd hit office max and by the
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: slim jewel cases. I had a little boot like I
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: used to go shoplift the ink. Did you get the
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: color the color coordinated cases? Yeah, but like you know,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I had I had like like I used to print
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: all the all the covers off. Yeah, my little cheap
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: ass printer, and I would go steal the ink because
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: the ink was fun expensive, so I would I'd steal
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: the ink cartridges out of the demo printers at the store,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: and then and then I printed print print the covers
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: and then I'd be a to swap meet every weekend
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: slanging mixtapes, man and DVDs to man, you remember what
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: the best seller was? What's the best seller? Like? Do
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: you remember which artists which drop out? College? Dropout? Wow,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: I've never sold so many of one project for me,
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: it was Uh. I used to I probably I've sold
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: hundreds of Game the documentary album. The documentary did well too.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: The documentary was moving boy. But I was. I was
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: big on mixed CDs. I always had at least like
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: twenty five requests why I should do that too, or
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: somebody would would give you a list and I'd be like, cool,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: twenty bucks, I'm gonna make the CD for you. Exactly
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: see you was charging way more. I should have charged
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: that much. My kids. I would charge five bucks per
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: mixtape at the SI meet five bucks. But if you
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: wanted a custom mix, it was a dub. So if like,
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: let's say, say I should have did that my custom
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: my custom mix was like it was like tim but
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I'd be like, yo, you could get this because I
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: was really running them. I was really running them. You
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: could get this new DJ Drama mixtape or Whoever's mixtape.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: But if you want me to put some shit together
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: for you, twenty dollars. Yeah. But the twenty was really
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: for the you know what I'm saying, for your time party,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: your party favor like it was it, oh I see,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I see I. The twenty was for the eighths, That's
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: what I was all that and then it was like,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: now it's twenty five balls, thirty balls coming each time
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: we're dealing with a customer. You know what I'm saying,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: We killed two birds one stone. But I'm getting my
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: project out there. That's how I felt about it, Like
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I'm getting my music out there. But what was crazy
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: was people really was rocking with it, and at this time,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: you're obviously a star athlete at score them assuming, which
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: is why they took it away from me. They made
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: me stop because I wasn't back then. I didn't know
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: nobody made it out where I was from. Just I'm
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: not where are you from? So I went to well
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: that's my school, Oh, par Reforce is my high school.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: But I'm from o Park, which is we bought a kid.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: So if you got Chicago, we the town inside the city.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: That literally says, if you cross this street, you're not
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: out of Chicago, but it's Chicago, like a motherfucker. You
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: see what I'm saying. But that's the cool thing about
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: it because I get like people that be like thinking,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: I'm going to be like this suburb kid, like I
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: look great on paper, you know, I a old paper.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: I'm a great city. I'm an outstairs the guy, and
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I think that it's cool to sell when you talk
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: about the dynamic of selling these CDs and getting shit
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: like that off, because it's like I got protected in
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: the sense that I got like the suburb kids, the
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: city kids, I got everybody in one because I was
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: a border kid, so nobody really knew where I lived at.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: People were trying to figure it out, like he all
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: the way downhill, he go to Old Parl, his grandma
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: stay right here, like it was like that. But it
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: was like my clientele was just going crazy. And then
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: I'm rapping and I'm freestyle and I'm doing all this
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: and I started realizing, like people are really giving me
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: a chance to do this, but I'm super flagrant and
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: my raps you were seeing some more ship, Oh yeah,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: because I'm but I'm talking about stuff you're doing. Yeah,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: I'm talking it like you're talking about the ship you're
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: doing in the streets. I'm like, bro, I can't you
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: know what I mean? And they was like my coaching
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: and heard it, and they like, you want like just
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: they might use this against you if you're getting recruited
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: fair enough immediately, yeah, like you have to stop. So
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: I basically was like telling everybody like, yo, just please
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: like don't don't upload this ship. Yeah, like just try
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: and keep it as low as part, like we just
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: like doing like just what is that pr damage ship?
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Like that's what we try to do that it was
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: we try to do the we try to do the
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: damage control. But I was just saying like, if you
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: go back and listen to it, you'll be like, damn,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: like he really thought he wasn't going to the NBA
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: on the logan, the way he was talking on these
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: rats you're talking, Yeah, it's like the way you talking,
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: it don't sound like dude ever played basketball in his
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: life or give a fuck played basketball. And it was
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: like after that, I had to sort of start tailoring shit.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: That's why if you go really listen to my earlier
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: stuff that I released when I played for the Knicks,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: like I listen to it now and I like cringe
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: and get mad because I'm like, bro, none of these
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: songs was like this, this is a bunch of take
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: this out, take that out. I can't say this, can't
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: say that essentially, like like you'd have to almost record
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: a song and then comb through it afterwards and be like,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: you know what I played for the Knicks. I can't
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: say this and then have a record that I'm like, man,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: this shit just just the one. And then I'm like,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: I can't do nothing with that one though, because you
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: can't say this, And then it's like I can't release
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: it because I would have had to release it during
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: this time. But we play tomorrow and now everybody's gonna
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: think I'm not Focused's just so much shit drop music
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: during the season. People going to look at you crazy. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: And then it was like, because I was able to
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: stay on beat and everybody else that is like playing defense.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Hey listen, some of the worst rappers ever came out
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: of them. It's because Test was horrible. God bless him.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I went to a Ron Art Test music video shoot
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: with Mike Jones and like when I was like in
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: high school and it was it was rough True Warrior.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I remember his label, True Warrior. I was at the
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: video shoot Shout Shout out the True Warrio record. You
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: remember that song. Ron Ard Test and Mike Jones. Oh
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: my god, it was bad. But I was at the
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: video shoot. It was in Phoenix. I was a kid
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: in high school. They're like, Ron Art Test is shooting
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: the video on the South Side. Mike Jones were like,
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: we in there? What I swear to god, Bro, why
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: was he in Arizona? Dude, I have no fucking mic No,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: he's from Texas. That's and this is peak Mike Jones.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: This is like switch a house. Yes, I'm like, we're going.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: It was at this record store called in the Groove
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Records and we were hanging out. Mike Jones got he
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: shot the video inside of the the inside of the store,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: there was a barber chair and he's like getting this
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: like fade while he's doing the video and it's around
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: our test. So I just looked it up on YouTube
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: recently to see if it was still there. It's still there. Terrible. Oh,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: it's so that's so bad. See that's how I feel.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Like when I go back and I listen to it,
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: I'm like, Bro, I could tell I'm like reading raps,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: not feeling I'm not. You know. That's the thing about
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: music is my homies ain't in the studio. Yeah right now,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Like I could tell what these songs are, and it's
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: like I get it. Like even when like I used
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: to be like getting mad when Mons used to be
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: doing the whole they like man out of the NBA rappers,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: you know, I just feel like, you know, it's Dame
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: and A doing all this other shit. And I used
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: to just be like I used to look keep me
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: getting annoyed, like because I'm like, damn, bro, I should
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: have just saved all my music until now. Yeah. Even
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: when I see stuff like when people bring up the
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: best NBA rappers, they'll like play a song that I
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: did when I was like it was like twenty ten,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: twenty eleven type shit, and they'll play that song and
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: like who's the best NBA rapper? And I'll be like, bro,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: that's A that's old. Yeah, Like I'd be like, you
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: know what I mean? Is this too? Is this to
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: piss me off? I'm like, y'all trying to piss me off?
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Y'all steady starting threads. And I still think it. I
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: still I still think I'm gonna play Dame new ship.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: I still think I still think of Shack Shaq Sack
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: We're platinum and he had NAS and jay Z on
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: a song together. Shaq was playing what's the song? I
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: don't know? But you But this is what I mean
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: by about the rapping ship, Like I feel like we
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: all took an l until somebody's singing our lyrics. That's real.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Like you can't stop the ring by shack Man, you
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: still don't know it, you can't stop doing Come on
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: that ship was I mean that wasn't his part. It
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: was a great hook though. No, that's fair. I think
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Damien has I think you tell me about a sample
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: the hook? Do you think he starts sinking? Do you
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: think his part? Do you think Dame has at least
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: done the best job of like juggling both? No, I
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: think Dame is a superstar athlete with the money to
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: put behind it. I don't think that. I think the
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: NBA is way more lenient with Dame doing stuff like
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: letting him perform for All Star, doing all this, which
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I'm happy for him. I'm not hating. I'm just saying
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: if I was a rock star, like if I if
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I never played under Mellow and stat and when I
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: went to New York it was just my ship and
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: we just was I was the rookie that get to
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: shoot it thirty times and do whatever the fuck I
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: want my music? Would it it went different because it
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: was like NBA can't say nothing. You might have been
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: Kevin knock slow key. No, I'm just talking. That's the thing.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: I was guaranteed no shirit like I had New York cracking.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: It's like if we if we're gonna, if we're gonna, uh,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: let him shoot thirty shots a game to where it's
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: like pressure or not. I'm shooting until I get in
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: the mix. Like like in high school, it's like, bro,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: whether I'm having a good stint a bad stint. I
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: got the ball so much I could sort of get
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: in rhythm, you can get into groove, you know what
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: I mean. It was like if I if I had that,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: then it's like they would have never hit me with
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: the Oh he's not focused. Then it's like if I
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: say a curse word or two, who cares? Moneg, I'm
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: signed for a hundred million. Like also, you're a human being,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: people cuss. That's what I'm up in, which I started
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: to realize once I'm like twenty seven, I'm like, bro,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: fuck y'all, I got a daughter, Like yeah, just because
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: I graduated from listening to you, motherfucker. That's crazy. That's
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: why I got to that point where I'm just like, Bro,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: you think you like a better parent because you lie
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: to your kid all day, Like they don't close the
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: door until talk about the real you. Like, kids know
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: exactly what you're doing, Bro, it's just whenever you're gonna
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: let them in on it. So it was like with me,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I'm like, once I got to that point where I
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: got daughters, it was just like I'm gonna say what
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: I want and sort of do what I want. That
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: control is kind of gone. But I feel like it's
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: helping my music, Like it helped people to connect with
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: me if they know, like Dude a lot like me,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Like I thought he was like this superhero that never
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: makes a mistake and ship, but it's like, honestly, bro,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: who's rooting for him? Nobody wants to root for Dude
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: like goodie too shoe ass, Like I'm not rooting for him.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: I don't like him. Do you feel like now your
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: music is in a place to be, you know, kind
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: of like the forefront of your focus as far as
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: like you know, obviously yeah you got you got pasted.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I think uh at this point, it's got
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: to be just the only thing that it's literally the
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: only thing that can never be taken. Father time ain't
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: gonna take this from me. It's gonna live on forever. Yeah,
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: like this, father Time just can't take my voice, you
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Well, father Time can, I just
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: I ain't gonna hit that for a longer time. It's
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: gonna be a while before that happened, exactly. Basketball athletically,
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I can still Yeah, I could still go out there
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: and do everything I need to do and play the game.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: But it's like at some point that was gonna stop.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: So it's like I knew at some point I was
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: gonna tap more into the art side of who I am.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. It was just a matter
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: of everything lining up. And I feel like right now,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: entertainment wise, music, it just it's people want to hear
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: me tell my story. That's that's my favorite way to
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: do it. What are the MC's artists that are kind of,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: you know, currently doing their thing right now that you're
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: that you're actually like a fan of so much dope
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: hip hop that's out right now. I'm a my newest,
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: my newest I'll say flowers, and now my Flowers is
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: joining Lucas Joiners Fire. Best videos, it's the videos in decades,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: it's the video he he reminds me of you know,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: when we grew up, we were watching Bust of Rhymes
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: and Missy Elliott and and it's like we knows, remember
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: know what we're going for them for videos are They're
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: so well thought out, They're just amazing. Got a great
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: team and he couldrap his ass, for sure, you got
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: a great team. But I love that he doesn't hang
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: his hat on if he has a club hit, It's like,
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: I'm going to give you content. I'm gonna give you
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: build this organic fan base. Conceptually it is dominant, and
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: I I fuck with that. Him. Dirk is just he's
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: gotten to a point that I truly feel like everything
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: he says is just Chicago. Like if I want to
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: go home, I'm putting on dirt. You know what I'm saying,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: I'm putting on her. It's just they've gotten to the
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: point where I no longer feel like they rap. They
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: just sort of talking talking for us. Like I don't
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: know how to explain it. Just like everything they say
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: it sounds like they in a chicken spot with me.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: It don't sound like they rap it and trying to
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: make a hit song. It's like, gee, whatever they say
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: is law right now? Outside of them. J I D
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Jed's incredible, big ji D fan, that's my boy too,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: shout the dream. But now j I D is a
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: quite as kept, like technically one of the illness. Like
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: it's just it's a lot to digest. Oh, it's a lot, man,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: He's technically just a Jedi. I'll never forget here and
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: it never been and she had never had, she never knew,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: she had, never out, never do, never gave two shits
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: like his Uh yeah, his cadence is unbelievable. And then
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: besides that is I'm a little baby guy. Yeah, a
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: little baby's protecting him at all costs, a little baby.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: And Dirk's like the album cold well No, just the
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: way that each of them have evolved in front of
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: our eyes as artists and just as like you know,
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: I think of Dirk like Dirk really and his stride
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: until like two three years ago, but he's been in
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: the game for so long as far as like people
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: like looking at him as like one of them. One.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: I think it went it went from Dirk. Uh. At
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: some point Dirk kind of figured it out. Yeah, I
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: want to say it was signed to the streets. There
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: was a certain point where you just feel like, oh,
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Dirk figured this shut out because he had always been,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: you know, doing this thing. It was like doing his thing,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: and he had the streets and then he like started
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: trying to like figure out the mass. And at some
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: point it was like he got on a record and
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: he started talking like he was older than everybody, and
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: I was like, now you in yeah, before he was
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: like it was like, real, young boy, let me show
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: you my world to me, That's how I took it.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: And then at some point on sign to the Streets,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: it was like he graduated himself, like no, no, no,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: I graduated and now I'm trying to like tell me y'all.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: I think, And then I think with Little Baby, I
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: think Little Baby might be probably the most improved MC
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I've seen in a long time, because if we think
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: about like early Little Baby, we would think like Little
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Baby would openly talk about how Gunna would like give
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: him tips on how to rap, and like he hasn't
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: been rapping that long, you know, And if you just
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: think of like the last two years, he's like a superior.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: He's like one of the top notch. Like MC's not
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: just guys who make records that you could hear in
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: the club or on the radio, like this motherfucker can
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: rap circles around nine the population. I think it's uh
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: one is a little bit of this little baby's energy,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: like little babies like, uh, well, I can't think of it.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: I don't watch you watch like cartoons and shit. I
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: mean I watched a cartoon that is somebody that like
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: like takes in energy and shit and then they have
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: like a big power. I was finna say Dragon ball
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Z Mega Man, Mega Man. That's that's a video game,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: video game. But it's like little Baby reminds me of that,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: and I feel like he like it too, like everyone's
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: powers that he was around. And then just it's type
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: it's not even that, it's the energy of what he's
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: dealing with. So it's like with little Baby, you know
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: how people like get to this point where it's like
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: you hot, you just drop these two songs like let's chill,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: let's work these records and do this right. And it's
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: like little Baby has this gift that is just like no,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: let's go again, like no, here's another project, here's a
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: even on his even on his his his his uh,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: his features, it's like it sounds like like when Calid
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: like keep going like I'm like, it's the energy, Like
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: how he just gonna keep that Kalid record. I'd be
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: like this the whole time in the car. My wife
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: be like, bro, oh my god, y'all gonna play this
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: little baby. This boyfriend lose his man like that song
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: that's so crazy. But it's like he talking low like
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: anybody that's gonna talk it and say like it's just
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: like I don't know, like my shit is that that
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: I ain't got a hundred million. I can't chill you,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: but don't get its screw I get rid. He just
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: put he just put forty two. Dug fell asleep in
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: the studio and he feels him. He's like, how do
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: you fall asleep? You don't have one hundred million. But
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: it's like stuff like that, it's just the work ethic,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: the the forefront of what he's saying. Watching him force
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: capital onto his people. Yeah, like he's forcing them to
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: have to figure it out with money, Like i'mna, I'm
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: gonna bring in so much money, so much money has
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: to come around every time I show up, that y'all
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: gotta make money, figure it out. And I love that energy,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: like anybody that could push that, Like I used to
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: go to meet for that energy, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Like not to say meat fell off of some ship.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: It's just every energy is different around every couple of years.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: But I mean me's getting older, Well I gonna say
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: that happens meat bossing up to Like like I said,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: they graduate themselves. It's been around for ten years now.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: I mean, you know, but that's what Meek was when
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I first stream Chasers dream Man. He's showing up with
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: a hoodie, a hundre of niggas and they rapping, and
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: the energy it's just like you know what I'm saying,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Like I feel like that's what little Baby is, but
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: little babies like the meat energy that Meek had with
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: the hoodies. But it's like everybody got on chains, everybody
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: got watches, everybody, and they all behind him like with
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: this energy. That's just like I've never seen an energy
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: like that in a studio, Like you know what I'm saying,
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Like I've been around a lot of artists like him,
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: And another person that impressed me in the studio was
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: young Thug. I've never seen two people work like that, Like, yeah,
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: I think thugs are alien from all accounts. I've heard
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: no bullshit. Yeah, I heard he's like just no bullshit,
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: and I think I'm talking about I've had people say
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: in the studio, nobody can hear what he's doing, like
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: the engineer has headphones on. He's in the booth and
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: you're just gonna hear it when he wants you to
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: hear it. Yeah, but he's but he's in the other
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: rooms in the fut also meticulous, like he's gonna go
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: in there, he's gonna do his thing, y'all gonna record whatever.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Then he gonna come out and he gonna grab the
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: mouse and he gonna do some stuff himself. And we've
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: seen the meme like it's, oh yeah, people think it's joke, greate,
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Like people be thinking it's like for food for fun.
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: Like it's like he knows exactly what he's doing. He
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: really in control, He really trying to do something right now.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: And it was crazy because it was like before that.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: A lot of times when I go, you know, he
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: does the high pitch stuff with the auto tune. A
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: lot of times I couldn't understand some of the stuff
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: he said. And I look, he had a knock against
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: Doug for that, but being in there and seeing it
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: and then hearing Yeah, it's like he's like going for
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: a certain pitch. This is not a this is not
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: a he just went in there. I thought he just
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: went in there high and it was just like yeah,
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: it's just like he didn't really care that much. Stop
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: behind it. No, Yeah, he's really like. No. If I
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: get you to that frequency and I you know, I
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: say it like that, you'll never forget what I said,
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: because it's so unique. It's so left, it's so random
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: that it sticks out. It's a sore thumb, and it
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: doesn't seem beautiful all the time at first, but it's
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: like over and over it might be the only thing
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: you were remember from the song. Yeah, I think two
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: people like anytime someone is so different and so unique.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Man young Thug made dropping Jews. That's one of the coldest.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: What I'm saying is like thugs like the kind of
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: artists who comes into the game and it's so unique
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: that like people are supposed to be like what the
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: fuck is this? For sure? I mean he just threw
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: everybody off with the dresses, and I think that's it.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: I think that's any I mean even even think about
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: Little Baby. Like when Little Baby first came out, people
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: are like, what the fuck is this guy saying, like,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: you know what I mean, It's just like anything that's
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: great is initially gonna come. You gotta get used to
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: anything new, you know what I mean. Like if everyone
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: was just feeding you the status call that everyone would
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: still sound like fucking run DMC, you know what I mean.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: So so he said, shot, what music wise, what do
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: you have on the on on the uh on the
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: slate right now? We just dropped outside. So outside was
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: one of them records that happened should have been came out,
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: but I just started doing too much. I took on
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: the Dancing with the Star Ship. Yeah, ye had film
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: that show like every more timing, Yeah, I definitely will.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: But uh, yeah, I dropped outside. I got the video
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: coming next. We shot the video in Chicago. It was nuts. Yeah,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: you know, we probably came out of Honeystrom, went out,
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: fuck the city up a little bit. It was. It
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: was a good time. But yeah, we're gonna drop that video.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: And uh, I guess going into the new year, I
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: mean I gotta, you know, I gotta clear with Giants
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: storm to make sure. But I believe. I believe we
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: dropping just to kick the year off. So this car
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: Ain't stolen. That's the album called My It's My My
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: first album that I'm putting out. Everything else has been
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: like EP yeah, little little stuff, but that's literally just
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: to remind people that I still car aren't stolen. So
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: I'm assuming that something that's happened to you before, being
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: a millionaire who was African Americans, probably driving some of
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: the nicest cars and yeah, yeah, that's like it's like
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: it's like a dick hard moment though when you do it,
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: like you're pulling me over and you want this car
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: to be stolen so bad, but it's not. It's so clean.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: It's so clean. You want this firearm to be off,
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: you want you just want so much to be going
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: wrong right now, but nothing's wrong. It's so fair and square.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: I just like, I love that moment of looking at
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: the cop like, what's up, Bro? Oh you mom? Yeah
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: that's me, Bro, that's me. Yeah, I played with Bro
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: all that same dumb shit, but you pulled me over
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: for some bullshit skate. Yeah, let me out. I gotta go.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: I really need to leave, Sir, I do sir can
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: I have my ID back. My father's an insurance agent.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: I know my ship together. Give me my ship back,
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Clock League, because you ain't pull me over for nothing.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: But it's like playing on that. I've been slammed on
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: the hood of cause I've been padded down for no reason.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: I've had to deal with all the same similar things
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: as everybody else. Being an African American man that stands
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: over six feet, I'm automatically a threat. If you're a
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: cop that's not way bigger than me. I would see
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: myself as a threat too, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: I'm not saying this like it's a bad thing, but
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: it's like I've had to deal with that. So for
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: me in life, I don't take things as all. This
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: is unfair. I'm sad. Everything to me is competition. So
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: it's like, Okay, this is a game. This is now monopoly.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: I win. That's what this album is. It's like, bro
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: y'all gave me shit. I was a border kid. Y'all
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: didn't really like the suburb kids said I was broke.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: The city kids said I was a suburb kid, and
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: I was soft. You know what I'm saying, y'all said,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: no body go to the league from Old Park. Like,
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: I'm like, far as I'm concerned, I won this game Monopoly.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Like that's how I feel. As far as I'm concerned,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: I won, Officer. You know what I'm saying, Like, Officer,
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: you just got to get better at the game of Monopoly. Bro.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: But I didn't tell you to be an officer. You
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. You could drive this same car
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: if you work really hard and put that bitch in
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: the hoop. You know what I'm saying, If you put
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: it in a hoop, I swear to God, you could
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: be here too. You could do this too, Bro, Probably
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: five eighth to do with me, because there's some people
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: that's five league, yeah that they't got nothing to do
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: with it. Not many people that are. It's a couple
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: of girls, it's a couple of guys. Man. But Isaiah's
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: in the G League. Who else? Who else is five
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: ft eight? I mean, I hate that G League. See,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: I hate that the G League made it possible for
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: people to say that about Isaiah. I know, because God
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: bless him, he's in it. Bro, I cannot believe the
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: violation that the G League will allow. Bro. We can't
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: do that. That big who who that was All Star candidate?
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Dog gave us fifty After he got terrible news in
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: the playoffs, he took a shot, just taking shots in
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: the hip so that he could figure it out. I know,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: I was so mad when these people got this man
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: beg and to play basketball. Well not big, but it's crazy.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: He should not be knocking on nobody door, Like, yeah, man,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: I got more in the tank, Like, come on, bro,
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: like that type of stuff that hurts. Do you still
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: do you still feel like I'm knock on door? Do
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: you still feel like you have some some of the tank?
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: I got more feel something I'm saying, do you have
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: the like do you still want a lot of people
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: playing basketball right now in the league over me? That
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: I feel like they should not be playing ball in
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: the league over me? You know what I'm saying, I'm
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: sure willing to violate. I'm not gonna get y'all specifics
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: and try and violate people. I mean, I could go
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: through an ultimate I'm an ultimate competitor. Everybody didn't know
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: me in the league. No, bro, I want to compete.
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: I want war, I want conflict, like I love that
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: energy of basketball. I tell you who I would rather
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: have on the Sun's I would rather have you instead
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: of Admiral nat There's a guy on the Sun's name.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Every time he gets every time, every time Monsie Williams
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: puts Admiral Nader in the fucking game, I want to
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: stab myself. But you know what's crazy. That's what I'm
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: gonna tell you about basketball though, Like I'm able to
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: talk about it because I'd have played in the league. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: I'm talking. But the thing that's crazy is you'll put
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: dude on the court in the right system and he'll
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: bust people in for sure. I mean everyone in the
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: NBA is good, right, very good, Yes, very good. It's
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: just crazy that you can That's what I'm saying. Before
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: bron went to Miami, Bro, do you realize I feel
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: like it was not disrespected. I feel like it was
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: only hardcore. I feel like there was no disrespect going.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: I don't know mans like this when I was When
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: I was a kid, I hated Karl Malone so much.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: I just I would John Stocked. I just thought John
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: Stock was the corny is short short wearing I'm like,
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: look at this corny ass motherfucker. Like that was what
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: made the basketball great because like you gotta come to
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: Utah and God, these short, short motherfuckers that say, yeah,
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: y'all have this slag, we go bust y'all last week,
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: y'all get here, you know. I mean that's I feel
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: like hardcore basketball fans are always talking shit. Oh no,
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: for sure, you got to that's what make the game great.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: Let me ask you this, do you guys pay attention
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: to the Skip Bayless's of the world, the First Takes
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: of the world, the Steven A. Smith's of the world.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: Part of it, They're part of it. It annoys you,
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: but I don't think we take it. We don't take
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: it that. Some guys do have moments where they take
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: it pretty personal, though, but it's just annoying. Like you
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: you wake up from your pregame map and you got
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: a million text messages about what Skip Bayless said about
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: you before a game. Because some of that stuff to
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: me is like borderline, like take it personal types, especially
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: like when we're talking about, like you know, the Skip
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: and Lebron dynamic or some of the stuff Stephen A.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: Smith has said about certain people. I'm glad at times,
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: I'm glad they don't do that to me. You know
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: what I'm saying. You're not sure how you would take it.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: I'm sure. I'm not sure how I would, but I'm
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: big on I'll take it fine publicly like I can.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: I can media coach myself. Right. You could be in
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: the press contrad ask me a question. I get the
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: Marshawn Lynch. I'm just here so I will get fine.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: Like whatever. It's when I have to see you again,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: that's when things can get interesting. Yeah, Like stephen A
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: is a you shooting around before the game. He come
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: out there? What's up? Man? Just start talking to you.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: It's like, bro, if you ever went on national television
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: and created a whirl win with my my life before
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: a basketball game and I didn't perform how I wanted
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: in that basketball game, if you walked up to me before,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: I don't know what will happen. Yeah, just because I
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: will react, you know what I'm saying, Like it would
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: be literally grown man react and the same way you
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: say when you play basketball, you react to go get
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: the loose ball. You don't think about that like you
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: when you talk about something like that. It's like, bro,
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: I did everything right with my pregame. My pregame routine.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: I was in a vibe, we had a great practice,
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: We're doing all this stuff, and now randomly you bringing
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: this up, and you and Skip argued about it for
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: an hour, and now everything that everybody is talking about
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: is just negative stuff for my name, and I can't
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: do anything now. I can't go on Instagram if I
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: wanted to look at something that was posted by my wife.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: I can't go on Instagram now because as soon as
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: I open it, everybody's talking about what you Skip was
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: talking about. You know what I'm saying. So it's like,
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: if I had to deal with that dynamic every day,
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: I probably would have an issue with it. I can
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: only a mater. I'm glad I didn't I had to.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: You know, I think after a while, everybody sort of realize, like, hey, bro,
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: let's just lead dude out of it. Would you would you?
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: Would you try to get would you trying to get
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: back on a roster? Or do you like the Big
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: three thing at all? Or oh? I don't know. I
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: ain't never gonna say no. I love basketball, bro, like
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: I just like playing basketball, So I wouldn't rule the
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: Big three out. Big three. It's always I love watching
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: the Big Three I just like playing basket. I like
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: to see Iso Joe out there. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: It's just love. It's like, bro, we're gonna play anyway. Yeah.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: I try and explain to people all the time. They're like, man,
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: I wish you just it's not like you stopped playing. Yeah,
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: it's like, bro, I don't not love basket. Still play
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: like the owners of that ball club and the GM
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: is going a different direction that has nothing to do
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: with eman, like you're not finna Like bro, if y'all
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: want to come to the gym that I be at, like,
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: you gotta know somebody, right, But it's like we be
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: in the gym, like we're getting it in. It's just
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: whether or not the opportunity is there because I'm like
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: though though, it's like I'm working my ass off. They
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: can't just be like, oh yeah, man, come in. They
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: gotta make sense. Like they got young guys they drafted,
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: they got it right. They got G League guys that
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: are already there that are twenty two years old and
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: healthy right now and under their wing. It's like me,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: it's hit a miss, bro. It honestly is if you
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: bringing in a ten year veteran. I'm thirty years old.
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: I don't come with you're not that old. I'm thirty one.
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: I'm just saying. What I'm saying is if you got
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: a twenty two year old and you wasn't gonna give
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: me the ball twenty times a play anyway, I mean
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: twenty times a game anyway, why wouldn't you pay the
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: twenty two year old? Do you think? Because I think
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: I think of like a team like the Lakers that
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: have lost a lot of their defensive credibility this year.
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. That's on bron Man, Bron Bro,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: you know what time it is? Man? That's old you.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: S What do you think you know what time it is?
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: That's old you, bro. You know you You could call
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Shy Mellow too. It ain't just on Braun, I lie Mellow.
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: That's on YouTube. Man. If y'all want to hear nothing
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: about y'all little defensive issues and leadership veteran issues and all,
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: I don't want to hear that out of them too.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: I was gonna ask you, like, as just from someone
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: who's closer to you know, Bron and Mellow like you know,
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: and also as a basketball guy, what do you think
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: is wrong with the Lakers this year? Shit something doing
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: an interview with you right now, that's their issue. She
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: should be with them. No, uh no, for real, for real,
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: I was playing, but I'm kind of serious, Like I
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: really do feel like it's something that's I haven't been
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: around the team to know exactly what it is, right,
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: but to me, they don't get down together like I
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: feel like they feel like they're hanging out. Well, I
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: feel like they traded away a lot of that, right
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: because if you think of like for sure, but I mean,
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: there was a time that during that Calf season that
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: Bron literally it stretched stressed the importance of us all
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: hanging out together. Like I remember, was it the Halloween
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: party with Steph always do stuff like it? Was it
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: steph Cree tombstone? Was that what it was? I forget
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: what it was. It was something like that. It was
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: like a Warriors tombstone or something that one of Lebron's
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: Halloween parties. Yeah, I don't remember that. That's that's fucking good.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: But so you you think it's just the fact that
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: they don't really get down together like it just I
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: don't think they got to a dance they haven't had
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: a chance yet. You know what I'm saying, Like maybe
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: COVID all this other stuff, like it just doesn't look
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: like a bunch of guys that been hanging out and
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: playing pick up against each other enough, you know what
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's like they don't know how to all
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: the way get each other vibing. And that's you know,
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: once you add Russell Westbrook, it changes a huge dame.
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: Do you think that that was Do you think that
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: that was the right decision? Think that was the right
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: decision at all. I think that they would have rather
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: have had Buddy Hill than kept Alex Caruso, because that's
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: why I think it's better if it works better for Broun. Right,
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: But you're also talking about nineteen years in Broun. Yeah,
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So it's like, m there.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: I saw today that they were saying that the Lakers
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: are it's okay to bring Russ if you got a
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: nineteen year in Broun, because it's like Russell pushed that
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: pace and if Lebron has to sit out two weeks,
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: there's someone who is hold post, who can hold the
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: Ford down. Let me ask you this, there there's a
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: rumor going around that the Lakers are looking into Ben Simmons.
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: If you're the Lakers GM, hypothetically Imon Schumper, you're the GM.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: We've seen it happen. James Jones is the Son's GM.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: He was in the league not long too long ago.
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: If you could trade Russell Westbrook for Ben Simmons, would
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: you make that swap? If I'm the Lakers, If you're
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: the Lakers, you're making the swaps. That's fair for sure.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: But that's just me. That's my preference of basketball. It's
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: it helps you a lot on on the defensive liability
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: that's happening. You got the best perimeterive defensive guy in
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: the league. It becomes great on defense. It ruins a
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: lot offensively. It does scares them, which scares them, but
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: it only ruins a lot offensively if you're not willing
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: to take the challenge of what the challenge is when
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: taking on Ben Simmons. The challenge of taking on Ben
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Simmons is he doesn't shoot threes. But it's not the
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: we need him to. He just doesn't shoot threes. And
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: it's okay. The moment everybody gets that ship out of
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: their mind, he's gonna be fine. Who gives a fuck,
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: DeMar don't shoot threes? The more we don't give as
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: putting it in work right now, But listen to Simmons
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: been putting in You're right right. I just think that
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: Ben Simmons been putting in work. You don't fool y'all,
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: So listen, don't fool y'all all self. For what Ben
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: Simmons been out here now, I think he's been the
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: best defensive player of the last three or four years.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: Fuck the defense, bro. Offensively is a bit of a
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: liability though, no, he's not. He just doesn't shoot the three.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: He was if he was six foot two, y'all would
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: not care that he can't shoot if he was six two.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: Because he's six 's eight and he lights skin. Y'all
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: got an issue with this man not shooting. Are you
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: saying he looks like a tall Steph Curry? Yes, that's
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: precisely what I'm saying. That's literally what I'm telling y'all. Bro. Literally,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: if this dude was just dark skin, I don't think
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: we would care. But he is supposed to technically, he's
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: supposed to be able to shoot the three. And if
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: I was a coach, I would not give a fuck
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: if this boy shooting three. I can't believe he got
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: this far without shooting three. I wish I could have
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: got that far without shooting the three. Bro, I wish
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: to death that coaches never turned me to three and D.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: I hate shooting threes. I've always hated it, never liked it.
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: Felt like it was soft, made me look soft, made
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: me feel soft. I didn't feel tough when I had
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: to shoot hell of three's and people was like, why
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: you you got to go back to that mode. I'm like, bro,
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: they took the ball from me. I stand in the corner.
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: I feel light skinned. I feel like the sun is
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: not hitting me at all. Like that's how I felt,
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I feel like I'm losing
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: my superpowers standing over here. It's just not the same.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: And I feel like if the Lakers take on being Simmons,
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: it's like, shuddy, if you let that man run point
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: he pushing that tempo all game. Now you got him
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: and Braun going back and forth, both of them point forwards.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: You changing the game. That's twin Towers at the PG.
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: We've never seen that. Yeah. I just think I think
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: AD's gotta I don't know, and then you got a d. Yeah,
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: give me two shooters and let's go hoop. Yeah, what
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: the fuck is? What the fuck is the other side
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: gonna do? I just need the question, But yeah, I
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: would pull the trigger on that. No disrespect and then
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: you'd sign yourself to be no disrespect. God, you know
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: how you down which you sure go to war with
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: you against you or whatever. Man, there's no disrespect to you.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: But if I'm being a GM boy, I'm getting that
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: ring kid a couple of quick ones. The most frustrating
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: player you ever had to guard, James Harden. He learned
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: how to bend that rule book loophole. God, the best
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: I've ever seen it done. The best I've ever seen
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: it done. He's like an old white man for taxes. Yeah,
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: he's gonna get the both out of it. He's gonna
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: get you heres return. You're gonna think you have to
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: spend one hundred grand in taxes out the window. He's
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: gonna get your back. That's hell right there. But he,
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: James Is, he figured out a way to like and
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: for everything that you got on him, he figures out
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: the loophole by next year, like that one foot shot
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: just became from people. You just start picking up his
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: footwork too good, and he came with a one foot
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: three yeah, And people thought it was the joke during
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: the summer, and it was not a joke. He started
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: shooting it in the game. It's unbelievable somebody got the
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: balls to shoot a one foot float or three. Yeah, No,
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: it's crazy. Off a step back, what about someone who
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: you feel like you had your biggest personal rival on
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: the court, somebody who you know, maybe there was a
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: little personal tension where you know, maybe you guys went
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: to war so much that it kind of felt like,
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: you know, there was there was like some serious energy
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: at a certain point in your career whenever you would
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: step on the court with someone. Hmmm. I ain't never
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: really had nobody go like really bad blood with me.
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: I feel like there was a time. Wasn't there a
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: time you got in trouble for trying to go into
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: the locker room to fight somebody after the game. Oh, Nurkics, Nurkics, Yeah,
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: that's he was doing the NBA talk And I wasn't.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: I wasn't trying to get the on the court tech.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: But it was like it was just we end up
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: having a conversation afterwards. I believe I forgot who who
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: set it up for us, but I ended up talking
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: to him. But I think the next time we played
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: or some shit squashed it. But it was a I
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: felt like some of the shit he was doing. And
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: one of the things he said it was like, Bro,
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: there's a slow mode replay, like you realize my daughter,
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: somebody on the street might really think this is how
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: this go, like they might think they really, Finnah get
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: this off. And I'm letting you know, bro, we don't
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: get that off. Like I told him when I was
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: coming to the locker room. I told him on the court,
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: and I think everybody thought because we won, I just
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: was like gonna let it go. And I took off
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: and went through the back. And you know what's crazy
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: is they made it a big thing. Like I walked
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: over there and people was like holding me back and
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: all this other bullshit and it wasn't, bro, Like I
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: knew how to get there through this. I went through
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: the back, locker room everything to where I just popped
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: up and I'm at his locker room, gee, and I'm
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: like come out, come out here and have a conversation
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: with me. G Really, I don't even know if I
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: was gonna fight him or not. Yeah, we gotta have
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: a talk, bro, cause y'all just this NBA shit is
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: to y'all going too far, bro. And I don't know.
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: I don't know where we at, Like you can't tell
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: me it's on deck like that, and then I get
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: out the uber and you're right there, bro, because once
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: it's on deck, it's on deck. So it's like, I'm
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: not you know what I'm saying, Like I don't know
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: how to do that. Every time somebody told me it's
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: on sight, it was really on site. That's real shit.
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: And I'm fighting for you know what I'm saying, I'm
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: not really just it ain't no the teacher gonna break
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: it up, fight, you know what I'm saying. It's like
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: I donet been in a fight that took two minutes
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: long like you have been to fight. Take two minutes, bro,
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: It's the longest shit in the world. Two minutes is
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: a long fight, a long street. You fighting. If you're
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: fighting for twenty seconds, it feels but ain't nobody helping?
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: It's like if ain't nobody help, ain't nobody here? To
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: break you two minutes a very long fight. So that's
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: what I'm thinking of. I'm thinking more like that, Like, bro,
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: if we pop out in a club, what I'm supposed
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: to just act like we're cool now, Like after you
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: say some shit like that, like you do some shit
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: like that. Like he's he was just like too, I
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: don't know, it was too, like whatever, deal with it.
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, ain't no, deal with it? Like, ain't no.
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: And then he's like saying a different language and through
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: a couple of you know, through a couple of American
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: curse words at me. I'm sweaty. I ain't going for that.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: I don't like it. That's all I ran back there.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: But I ain't never had nobody that I'm like looking
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: for in the league, Like I've never had nothing like that.
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: I just think he just took it a little too
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: far when he shouldered me. Who do you think is
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: the most underrated player that you ever share the court
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: within the NBA? Just someone who doesn't get enough love,
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: enough flowers for how good they are or what they
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: bring to the game. J Smith Jr. Jr. Smith, I
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: think uh. At one point I even told j he
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: was like he was talking to me like, I'm like, bro,
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: I don't know who you think I am. Bro, but
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: I used to play with you in the video games,
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: Oh for sure on two K with with the Nuggets
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: and with the Hornets like he was. At one point though,
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: it was like, but that's what I mean about the league.
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: Like I remember when he was on the Nuggets he
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: was having like like I think he had a fifty
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: point game. Yeah, like he he's like I said, he
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: when Jerr is hot, it's automatic. But it was like,
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: because so many people put him into that category of
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: like he's got to be hot, he's streaky, he's he's
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: got behavior problem. It's like, Bro, he was eighteen, y'all
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: put him in the league and gave him some money.
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: He's gonna make like he had to grow up in
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: front of everybody. I'm like, Bro, that sucks, and now
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: y'all putting him in a weird role. Y'all talking about
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: my dog. Like at one point, jay'all was talking to me,
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: I'm like, Bro, you are j R. Smith. I don't
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: know what the fuck you're talking about right now? You're JR. Smith.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: Don't forget that. Yeah, Like, I don't know what you
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: want right now. I used to play video games with you,
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: fam like not shoulder to shoulder, motherfucker. Like I'm going
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: on the fantasy draft to make sure I got JR.
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: Smith on my roster. Like, you not gonna talk to
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: me like that, Bro, you gonna talk to me like
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: you JR. Smith. I think you're gonna teach me shit
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: that JR. Smith should be teaching me, and you gonna
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: walk first, like you know what I'm saying. Like that's
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: how I felt about Jr. Because it's like bro y'all.
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: Like even when on that team, it was like people
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: didn't understand I'm still twenty twenty one year old. That
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: was like I went from being at Druig Detect, lockout hitting,
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: I'm at Chicago. I'm really I mean in Chicago just
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: kicking it. I got the homies, we I got ready
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: for the for the league. Shit literally just playing with
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: my homies every day. We just playing ball in the gym.
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: We're doing our own sprint drills. Yeah. I wasn't paying
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: a train or nothing. It was just going for blood,
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: playing ball every day with them talking shit. So it
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: was like, Bro, I went from that to Mello's my teammate.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: Amari's my teammate, Tyson, Baron Davis, Mike Bibbie. I'm looking around, like, motherfucker,
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: my baby was on that team. Treon Smith, you just
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: came from China to play on my team. Like, I'm
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: like this, they don't bro, I'm throwing them. I'm like,
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: I th I throw this ship to Jay All today.
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: So he caught that backwards. I just I think Jr.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: Like is underappreciated, But I also think like, oh no,
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: he's still everybody's favorite. I just think people love him, yeah,
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: for sure, but underappreciated and undervalued as a player. He
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: should have never touched in a hundred million dollar contract.
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: That's what I mean. Like, we're not gonna sit here
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: and like it's just other players that got paid just
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: because they were a good guy. And I didn't like that.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: There were some players that got guys. What was that
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: one weird year where everyone got paid that shouldn't have
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: got paid. It's just timing of the negotiation. It was
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: the year, the lockout year. The lockout year happened. We
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: had to put that new uh CBA in place. The
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: name of that dude that got paid that when it
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: was on the Lakers llewell. Dan got paid, but he
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: actually was solid. But there was the white dude that
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: got super paid who ended up It wasn't Mons, it
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: wasn't Yeah, it was moscof He didn't get super paid
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: for no reason. Though Mai was serving chips. He had
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: a great finals. They didn't use him after that. Yeah,
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So it did make him
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: the next year. It probably did look like he wasn't ship. Yeah,
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: but he had a great finals. If not used properly,
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: everybody in the league looks like ship. Okay, what about this?
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: What would you Is there anything that you would say
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: you like your biggest regret about your career, biggest regret?
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: That was one point that uh. They was bringing me
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: into office with the Knicks and Mike Woodson was basically
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: telling me, I need you to play two guard, like
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: I need you to for what this team needs to
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: be and no disrespect to Raymond Felton, who at the
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: time was running the ball club. For me to grow
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: into what I felt like I was gonna become, Like
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: I always felt like like I wanted to be Jason Kidd,
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: but I always felt like I was Penny. I'm like,
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: I'm Penny Hardaway like I'm the big point guard that
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: is gonna do funck shit that looks like a two
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: guard at times. But I just don't want to play
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: two guard. I'd much rather play point and y'all go
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: get me somebody that wants to shoot it every time.
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: But I don't want like somebody that's like trying to
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: figure it out like I wanted an asshole. I want
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: a complete dickhead at too. Like right, like, people didn't
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: understand why I loved Buddy Hill so much and why
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: he played so well when I was there, Buddy healed.
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: Is what I'm talking about when I say a complete asshole,
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: and not an asshole with how he takes direction or
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: anything like that, but an asshole in a regard that
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: I could look you in the eye, Buddy and say,
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: do not shoot this shot. I don't care how open
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: it is. Don't shoot this shot. When I throw it
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: to him. If a motherfucker ain't in his face all
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: over him, he's shooting it because no amount of pressure,
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: no side bet, it ain't nothing that could go on
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: in his mind that make him feel like he's about
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: to miss this shot. He is completely invested in saying
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: I've never missed a shot in my life, and I
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: love it because you need a motherfucker like that. That's
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: a superpower to be able to shoot an airball, shoot
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: it off the glass, and then come down to shoot
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: all unbelievable while everybody figure out what they gonna do
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: and they see, oh, why are you shooting that? Everybody
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: got everything to say, you come down and get that.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: He's shooting four out of four every time I throw
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: it to him. It was like I wanted that, and
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: I wanted to be Penny, and I had that moment
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: in that locker room with Woody. I could have just
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: I feel like I should have just tore up the
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: locker room when I got traded. I watched Mellow tear
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: up the locker room, just throw chair and do all
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: the fun shit, and I was like, that's what I
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: should have did, and I should have said, trade me, wow,
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: trade me, because I'm not playing too. I play point.
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: This is how I play. This is how you get
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: the most out of me, Like if you take me
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: out of that, and I never did this other shit
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: before I become something else. And in my mind I
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: was trying to hope, like I was just gonna growing
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: too this player that you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: maybe I play point guard at the end of the
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: game now, but I start off playing two guard and
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: then I'm averaging more like maybe it could work out.
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: I'm trying to like dive into it. And it just
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: felt like, all right, Bro, y'all just switched me to
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: a three and D guy and now I just got
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: less responsibility. But you had a great career. I mean, listen,
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: you had a great career for sure, but you asked
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: me what I will regret now. I regret doing that
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: because I felt a different path. I just wanted to
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: play point guard, Bro, Like, even though we won a championship,
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: that's what I wanted to do. That's not how I
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: wanted to do it. Last thing Jordan of Lebron, who's
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: the goat? Jordan? Yeah, okay, like brou you by doll.
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: You know this though? Bro argue this about this? Though
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: he take that just he like is he conscientious about that? Show? Laughs?
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: Is that ship? Bro? Because I feel like he is
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: getting the conversation. Why the fuck? I mean, I feel
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: like he is the conversations getting compared to Michael Jordan
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: though we having real life arguments in barbershops about who's
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: better between him and Mike. Let me ask you, this
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: go get bad for he don't get mad Bron. That's
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: what I'm saying about Broun. That's raw as fuck to
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: me because me personally, I would be like, Mike gotta
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: play me one on one, funk all that we're streaming
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: this ship right because because for real, for real, I
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: low key think Mike so competitive, Bro, Mike could come
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: out of retirement right now to play and do it
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: one hell yeah and take an L. Calm down, they
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: take a serious L. You gotta call you. You ain't
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: seen Mike who for the while, I don't need to
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: see it right now Lebron versus right now? Do you
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: know how Mike Jordan? You ain't never seen it? Though
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: you've never seen Mike. Just you seen Michael Jordan person. No,
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: you've never seen him just sitting down and just get
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: up in his street clothes. No, I've heard about it
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: though he does it all the time, bro, And every
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: time you think like this thig can't dunk no one.
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: But don't you think Lebron has had the level of
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: competition has been a lot more insane for Lebron. Are
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: you being serious right now? Very much? So, you're being
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: dead serious. Bro. Okay, you're being dead serious right now.
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: Do you know what Michael Jordan had to deal with? Bro?
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: We can go over his finals opponents and go over
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: Lebron's finals opponents, and you tell me who had the
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: tougher teams. You tell me who lost. Okay, that's fair.
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: But he also played the Trailblazers. He played what was
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: wrong with the Trailblazer I mean they have they have
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: a super team. Lebron had to play. It's a dick
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: sucking statement. Lebron had to Jesus Christ, this is only
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: a statement that will retired to Emon Shuffer could make
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: love this saying we're talking ball. So listen. So Lebron
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: had to go through and and O five. He had
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: to play peak or was it O seven? Rather was
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: seven five? He went to the finals against the Spurs.
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: He's been quite a few times. Well, the first time
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: he went against the Spurs. That was the first kind
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: of incarnation of the Spurs dynasty before Kawhi. Right, So
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: that's like peak, Manu. So you think Mike and Scotty
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: wasn't gonna blow that out? We'd have beat the Spurs
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: for zero and send them the fuck home. I don't know, man,
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: We just shook pop hand like a great guy. Pop.
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: The Jazz took the Bulls. I think I think y'all
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: the Cavaliers would have swept the Jazz for we're not
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: talking about the Cavaliers. The Bulls didn't sweep the Jazz.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: It was it was. It was a serious series. We
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: got Lebron James. We could match up with the Jazz.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: I could get over a screen. We could deal with Johns.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: He that he played a Thunder team with Kevin Durant,
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: Russell Westbrook and James Harden in the finals. We could
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: have matched up with that with the Bulls. Maam, think
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: about it. I got Ron Harp of six six. Who
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: was gonna guard Mike on that Thunder team? It wasn't
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: gonna be KD. He don't want to do it. Who
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: was gonna guard Mike? What I'm saying, who was gonna
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: guard him? So you think that because Scotty p was
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: gonna guard you think they Scotty Pe was gonna guard KD.
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: Mike was defensive team. He was gonna take Russ, who
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: we gotta deal with James Carden off the bench. Six men. Okay,
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: see what I'm saying, Who's gonna deal with who coach?
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: When he come off the bench at six eleven? We
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: coming to Partygebaca. So you mean to tell me you
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: so cute? You think that's so cute? You think so
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: you think the Bulls had tougher competition in the finals.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: I'm saying, don't violate the Bulls. Bro. Not compare these
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: new teams. None of them bulls Bro. I don't think
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: y'all remember how them Bulls played. Listen, I don't think
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: y'all remember I watched I. I don't think I got
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: to the NBA. I got to the NBA watching these niggas.
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: They wasn't playing with these people. They're not finna play
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: none of these games, none of them. You don't remember
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: when Gary Payton was giving us a hard time? What
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: Phiel do? Hey, Scottie? Deal with this man ninety four feet?
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: I like how he speaks as as a wei perspective
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: with the Bulls. What you mean were not going. We
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: never went. We're not having it. Yeah, it's gotta be
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: dope to see the Bulls will be good again? Right? Yeah?
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: We wrong? We we cold the Seal right now. And
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: speaking of we, the Cavaliers are cold again. Mobley's doing
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: a great job. Mobley's but that's not we. Oh so okay,
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: So once you're not a Cavalier for life, you watch
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: the Cavaliers within the sixteen team. I don't know these
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: new guys. I feel like I don't go to war
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: with them, okay, because I feel like Cleveland will always
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: look at you as like when it like, I like Cleveland.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: You said the Calves though, so no, they traded something.
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: They traded them. Yeah, twenty sixteen Calves love them. Everybody else?
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: Bullshit there it is man, big top bulls guy. Oh man, Hey,
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: do you think my sons have a shot out of
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: chip this year? The Suns? Yeah? I don't know, man.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: Last year was y'all, y'all it was our chance, right,
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: It's gonna be tough this year. I mean, we've been
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: doing all right. It's not even about y'all doing all right.
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: It's about if who's your pick off the top of
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: your head right now, who's your pick to be in
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: the finals? Two teams la Lakers and Clippers. Gotta ask?
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: Obviously it's the Lakers, right, or is it the Clippers.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: Kawhi comes back. Maybe they make something happen. Yeah, the
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: Lakes show. And every time people do that to me,
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: when they say the Lakers are Clippers, it always throws
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: me off. It throws me off too. I just have
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: to when you said that, I had to think about
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: the Clippers roster for a second just to make sure
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: I wasn't completely leaving them out. But no, they're not
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: gonna I don't feel like they got It'll be either
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: the Lakers and the Bulls or m hm. Maybe I
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: just wanted to be the Lakers and the Bulls, but
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: it's gonna be. I don't really like a lot of
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: teams in the East right now. It ain't that they're
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: not good. I just don't like them. Yeah, I don't
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: like I mean, I hear. I just don't like you
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: to even say that to foreshadow, because everyone, we all
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: thought the Nets would have been the team, but it's not.
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: That's not the Nests yet. Kyrie Shilling, y'all gotta remember
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: that man. Ain't there, Mama, that go that man? That
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: man at home? Right now? They always say Kyrie, and
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: I think Kyrie to me is like as far as
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: like handles and just skill wise is probably top five ever.
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: But but sure would you would you put him up there? Yeah?
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: I mean who else is up there? It ain't a
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: lot of motherfuckers up there. I think he's got the
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: best handles I've ever seen. But we got who we
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: got him, Jamal Crawford. Uh I think. I think when
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: I watched when I watched Kyrie play, and it's in
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: slow motion and it looks like art. Like when you
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: see Kyrie in slow motion in his bag, it's like
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: watching art. Dude, it's the craziest show. But it's only
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: like a couple of put in there putting that many guys.
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: It ain't that many guys with a nasty handle. Like
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: everybody just got a handle for what they need to score,
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: Like Kyrie got a handle that It's like if you
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: need him to dribble out the clock, ain't nobody touching
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: that ball. Uh So your project coming out top of
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: your hopefully? Yeah, man, this car ain't stolen? Is wife
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: he going to be on the project. She's not on
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: the project. You know, she's done with music. She's just done.
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: She's done with features, done with it all. I can't
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: speak for you know what I'm saying, I'm hoping that
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: the energy is stays positive and she continues because I
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: don't want her to stop, you know what I'm saying,
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: But I feel like she's so talented and like somehow
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: still hasn't even met her peak yet. But that's the issue.
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: That's why she wanted to stop, because it's like whatever
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: that wall is, she doesn't understand the wall. And it's like, now,
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: if it's going to like hurt her mentally, it's not
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: worth dealing with, you know what I'm saying. She's like,
- 1:59:37Speaker 1: I've been doing that for so long and it hasn't
- 1:59:39Speaker 1: brought me to happiness I need. And before it becomes
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: a point where she doesn't love music or to affect
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: like you said, if it affects your happiness, and it's
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: like a piece some of that is like I want
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: to continue to love music, and it becomes now I
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: think of music and it's like it becomes work, like
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: I got to figure out how to do this or
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: how she wants it to be. Like she goes to
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: the studio and it just be care free again and
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: just making music and singing with a hard and it
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: ain't all this thought like you don't want to come
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: out in the label already, like yeah, well could you
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: think you could say this? And it's like all that.
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: After a while, it's like I can't imagine fifteen years
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: of somebody keeping me in a box and trying to
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: Oh this is hot right now you should follow behind
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: this girl. And it's like, dog, like, I just want
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: to do my thing and turn my album in y'all,
- 2:00:30Speaker 1: put the money behind it, go out to that, let
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: me shoot my videos, let me go do my show.
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: That's how. And it's like once it's done, once it's
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: not that harmony, Like I can understand that for her
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: doing it for so long, it's like it got to
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: be a headache. So I get it. But I just
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: hope that it's so point she comes back because she's incredible.
- 2:00:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like I spend that album
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: before I go to sleep, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: I'm still a fan, even though I my husband, you
- 2:00:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So it's like I still want
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: her to come back. So I don't, you know what
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: I'm saying, put too much pressure on anything. We just
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: sort of let it happen, let the energy happen. Hope
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: she comes back. We'll listen to the album. Hopefully we
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: get it soon, y'all can get that. Get that hey,
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: hopefully we see you on a basketball court again. Yeah,
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: it's very possible. I feel like the Lakers is a
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: very very serious candidate to bring him on Trumper back
- 2:01:18Speaker 1: to the league. It would make sense. You have so
- 2:01:20Speaker 1: many friends on the team. You bring a set of
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: skills that they need. I crazy sometimes I'd be feeling
- 2:01:25Speaker 1: like I'll be like, man, after a while, they just
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: gonna have me sit there and they gonna want me
- 2:01:28Speaker 1: to be an announcer of some ship, bro because I'm like,
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: motherfucker want to talk about it with me so much?
- 2:01:33Speaker 1: I'm like, can I put one thing into the world.
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: I'd like to see in the next five years. I
- 2:01:37Speaker 1: want to see you and j R. Smith do a
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: podcast together. Oh that was gonna happen eventually anyway, not
- 2:01:44Speaker 1: an actual like you mean like is Yeah, that'd be
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: musty TV. I fel like if you guys were living
- 2:01:53Speaker 1: in the same city and you guys could do a
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: podcast once a week, once a month, switch, I ain't
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: doing shit that is. I'm telling you that is a
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: bag that on the Swish. I ain't doing ship. Boy,
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: you guys been go tapping with Bill Simmons at the
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: Ring or somebody, and they would that is That is
- 2:02:08Speaker 1: the podcast, the Emon and the Swish podcast. Will you
- 2:02:12Speaker 1: guys just talk ship? What I'm actually doing the podcast?
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: My podcast is uh is coming, So that's coming. Yeah,
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: it's with me and my brother though, okay, but me
- 2:02:25Speaker 1: and my brother is probably uh, that's probably gonna be
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: all best look at barbershop talk because my brother is like,
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: he's like you, he plays the fan the fan card,
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: but he like it's like serious. Oh yeah, it's like, no,
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: fuck you. I am extremely invested in sports. I gamble
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: every fucking day. I love having the league, but I
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: love I do. I gotta say that too, because I
- 2:02:49Speaker 1: talked about fans that go out of their way and
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: say a lot of ship. But it's like, without these
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: fans talking ship and creating the energy, a lot of
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: the basketball that we play ain't the same. You need heckless,
- 2:03:00Speaker 1: you need it, like it's all part of it. It
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: all adds to the energy. It's all good. Like for
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: forty eight minutes, hate me, bro, Yeah, for forty eight minutes,
- 2:03:10Speaker 1: y'all can hate me say anything. I almost got into
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: it last year. I almost fought one of Patrick Beverley's
- 2:03:16Speaker 1: friends in Phoenix because I was like down in the
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: that's not smart. Well no, I was fucking shit faced
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: and this was this was the game. This is the
- 2:03:23Speaker 1: game when when Patrick Beverly like cheap shot of the
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: ship out of Chris Paul you remember, ohh And I
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: was like, fuck Pa Beverly. Oh and I'm fucking like blackout.
- 2:03:34Speaker 1: You know, my son's having me good in eleven years.
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: So I'm just like excited to be at a Western
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: Conference final game and the guy turns right and say, hey,
- 2:03:42Speaker 1: that's my bro. Watch your mouth. And I was like,
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: mind you. This guy's by himself. I'm in Arizona with
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: a bunch of my essay homies. I say, hey, bro,
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: you know where the fuck you're out. You're in fucking Phoenix.
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: This isn't fucking La or Sugar, wherever the fuck you're from.
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: That I was drunk. I was drunk. Thanks God, Dicey,
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But hey, hey, I appreciate you.
- 2:04:10Speaker 1: I know I was. I was feeling myself, said I was.
- 2:04:14Speaker 1: I went for it. You want a freestyle? Are we
- 2:04:19Speaker 1: doing a freestyle, they usually wrap, let's fucking go. Man, Hey,
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: I did not know we were doing Yo. This is
- 2:04:25Speaker 1: a treat. This is a treat. Let's do this. What
- 2:04:29Speaker 1: beat you any beat you want, we'll get. You're talking
- 2:04:31Speaker 1: about naz and Easy Essence? Which ence? Are you talking about?
- 2:04:36Speaker 1: A whiz kid? Which kid? Okay, well listen, there is
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: a nas and Easy record called Essence that was nominated. Yeah.
- 2:04:43Speaker 1: Actually I'm gonna go get this two waters before you wrap, perfectly,
- 2:04:47Speaker 1: all right,
