per 80, the 7080 .it section that deepens the
• 1:00
topics discussed on the portal. I'm with journalist
• 1:03
Enzo Mauri, who introduces the current topic.
• 1:06
Good morning, today I'm going to talk about a
• 1:08
TV series from the 70s. How come a series like
• 1:11
V Binda, which was successfully broadcast in
• 1:14
1969 in Australia and other countries, arrived
• 1:17
in Italy almost ten years later? It's a great
• 1:19
mystery. The fact is that the location was found
• 1:22
in Rai TV1's balcony. I1, dated November 1978,
• 1:28
contributed to make them conquer the Italian
• 1:30
audience. Wubinda, in fact, became part of the
• 1:32
great family of telefilm broadcasts from 1976
• 1:36
every day at 19 .20, excluding Sunday, which
• 1:40
until the early 80s were inserted with wide consensus
• 1:43
in appendices to the boys' TV. V .Binda, a man
• 2:00
of medicine but also a healer of animals, is
• 2:02
the nickname with which is called by the local
• 2:04
aborigines, the veterinarian John Stevens, actor
• 2:07
Don Pesco, protagonist of the series set in Australia,
• 2:11
composed by a season for 39 episodes. Anzi, potrebbe
• 2:21
essere risolutiva. Mi piace acudire agli animali
• 2:24
e Kevin la terrebbe molto occupata. Perchè no?
• 2:30
Odia tanto stare con me. It's just a matter of
• 2:32
time, it will surely pass. Wubinda, created in
• 2:35
1968 by British screenwriter Malcolm Hawke, was
• 2:39
made on the international success of the TV -movie
• 2:42
Skippy, the kangaroo, broadcast in the same year
• 2:45
for three seasons. The producers sensed that
• 2:48
a new TV -movie with no animal protagonists would
• 2:50
have achieved a similar success, and they were
• 2:52
right. The great presence of typical animals
• 2:55
of the Australian fauna, such as kangaroos, koalas,
• 2:58
wallabies, but also dogs, cats, bovines, owens,
• 3:00
papas... Pagalli is incredibly for a Bengal tiger,
• 3:04
a chimpanzee and a python, contributed to make
• 3:06
love to Wubinda also in Italy by the audience
• 3:08
of big and small. As a result of a co -production
• 3:11
between the Australian TV and the German one,
• 3:13
Wubinda is set in the imaginary locality of Gatons
• 3:16
Creek in New South Wales, the place where the
• 3:19
video by John Stevens lives with the beautiful
• 3:21
daughter of Tiggy, the actress Sonia Hoffman,
• 3:24
and the adopted son of Kevin, actor Bindi Williams.
• 3:29
Wait a minute, Christine. This is Benji. But
• 3:34
if you want, you can change his name. He's of
• 3:36
a good race. He's so sociable. Here, take it.
• 3:40
It's yours. So, do you want it or not? Look for

• 3:49
also the German veteran Peter Fischer, the actor
• 3:52
Lutz Ostrath, who came to Australia to practice,
• 3:55
and the friend Jack Johnson, the actor Slim the
• 3:58
Grey, local businessman. V Vinda was the first
• 4:00
TV series to have an aboriginal actor as the
• 4:03
protagonist. Their role was so important that
• 4:05
Bindi Williams got an autonomous presentation
• 4:09
in the headlines compared to the rest of the
• 4:10
series. cast. I propose a rival's picnic. It
• 4:29
is said that during the shooting, the presence
• 4:31
of the animals in the scene was a source of inconveniences
• 4:33
to repeat. Among the funniest, the one that happened
• 4:36
in episode number 20, the little investigator,
• 4:39
where a dog named Leo continued to stand in front
• 4:43
of the camera, forcing the troupe to redo the
• 4:46
scenes. In many still remember the Italian title
• 4:48
of Wubinda played by Riccardo Zara and the chorus
• 4:51
of the green apples directed by Mizzi Amoruso,
• 4:54
the same as the songs of Barba Papà. The song
• 5:18
arrived at the 6th place of the Hit Parade, while
• 5:20
the voice that says, help me, give me a break,
• 5:22
do it right away, belonged to Paulino, son of
• 5:25
Mizzi, only 3 years old, at the time of the injury.
