- 0:05When a man deals with a supernatural entity in his
- 0:08youth, it seemingly never stops haunting him as its dark
- 0:13tendrils grab a hold of his life and squeeze with unyielding
- 0:18force. Will he finally defeat his
- 0:21childhood nightmare come to life, or will the force consume
- 0:25him and his family? This is the true and terrifying
- 0:30story of Bob Baker, otherwise known as the Nightmare in
- 0:34Bridgeport case which took place in Connecticut.
- 0:39This is the Untold Story series where we take a look at some of
- 0:43the most terrifying paranormal haunting cases and try to give
- 0:47the most in depth story possible with this story.
- 0:51I will warn you, it's been a while, but this case is
- 0:55particularly creepy to me, especially since I dealt with
- 0:59paranormal. Happenings in my childhood.
- 1:01So I would, as always, recommend that you don't watch this
- 1:05episode alone or in the dark unless you like a challenge.
- 1:10I will also be joined in telling this harrowing story today by my
- 1:14good friend The Tape Library. This has been a very highly
- 1:18requested collaboration and one I've been looking forward to
- 1:22doing for a long time since I genuinely enjoy his content.
- 1:26I hope you all enjoy as well. And now let's get to it.
- 1:53Our story begins in Bridgeport, CT, a town famous for its
- 1:57manufacturing, especially in the late 19th and 20th centuries.
- 2:04Producing goods like sewing machines, brass fittings and
- 2:08ammunition, the town saw a population explosion with a
- 2:13growth of more than 50% during World War One.
- 2:17Known for many things, it would soon become known for something
- 2:21else, something far darker. The year is 1962 and the Baker
- 2:28family is living a rather normal and happy existence with mother
- 2:33Dorothy, father Francis, and their two children, son Bobby
- 2:39and daughter Robin. It has always been a dream for
- 2:42the family to own their own home.
- 2:45That dream would come true following Dorothy's parents,
- 2:48giving the family some land and a home that they could finally
- 2:52call their own. They couldn't have been more
- 2:55excited. Dorothy's father and brother had
- 2:59built the home by hand some years earlier and her parents
- 3:03had originally lived there, but now it has since been gifted to
- 3:09them to help make their lives easier and bring them all closer
- 3:13together. Dorothy's parents would then
- 3:16build a second home on the same land, essentially just a few
- 3:20houses down, making for a very close and big happy family.
- 3:26Across the board. With Dorothy being a homemaker,
- 3:31this is exactly what she wanted for her family.
- 3:34Francis who is an ex Marine, works at an aircraft
- 3:38manufacturer in Stanford. With a good job, a beautiful
- 3:43home and family close, this should have been a recipe for
- 3:47the perfect childhood for Bobster, Bobby and Robin, who
- 3:52were very close as brother and sister often relied on each
- 3:56other for entertainment. The two would typically play
- 3:59outside in the lush trees and bushes that surrounded their
- 4:03house. One afternoon as the kids rush
- 4:07outside as they would any other day to play, they make their way
- 4:11towards the looming trees and green leafed bushes.
- 4:16A man suddenly appears from behind one of the trees, asking
- 4:19her who this man? Was he's puzzled by her reply
- 4:24She. Asks him what man, Bobby?
- 4:27Bobby, confused to say the least, replies to her.
- 4:31That man over there by the tree, I'm looking at him right now.
- 4:36Robin says she doesn't see anyone.
- 4:39Although the man doesn't say anything or threaten the
- 4:41children in any way, something about him terrifies the poor
- 4:45boy. So, doing as any sensible kid or
- 4:48person would do, he grabs his sister's hand and tells her to
- 4:53run. The two then bolt back to the
- 4:56family house. With the house being empty, they
- 5:00call out for their mother and quickly make their way out of
- 5:03their front door and into their front yard.
- 5:06There, tending to her small garden, is Dorothy.
- 5:11Relieved to see her. Bobby runs up and immediately
- 5:15tries to explain. What had just happened?
- 5:18Dorothy, thinking that her kids imaginations are just running
- 5:21wild, tells them to stop talking about a make believe Invisible
- 5:25Man and to quickly go and start getting ready for dinner.
- 5:29Frustrated that his sister couldn't see him now at his
- 5:33mother's lack of concern, Bobby remains confused and unnerved,
- 5:38thinking back to that dark and creepy feeling he had just
- 5:42experienced minutes earlier. But doing as he's told.
- 5:47He makes his way back inside the house to prepare for the family
- 5:50to eat. Later that evening.
- 5:53Bobby is by himself in his room. He's playing with his army men
- 5:57toys, trying to forget the creepiness from earlier in the
- 6:02day. Over the sounds of fake
- 6:04explosions and simulate A gunfire that the boy makes.
- 6:09He soon begins to hear something else.
- 6:12He suddenly begins to hear his name being.
- 6:14Called. The first call startles him and
- 6:19he looks around to try and find the origin of it.
- 6:23He then hears his name again in a low, hushed tone and realizes
- 6:29that it's coming from the air vent near his bed.
- 6:32In later interviews, Bob himself would say that I was certainly
- 6:36intrigued when I first heard the voice coming from the vent.
- 6:40I was intrigued yet also afraid. As the boy apprehensively makes
- 6:45his way towards the vent, he begins to talk back to the
- 6:49mysterious voice as it asks him to play with him.
- 6:53Bobby asks. Just where are you assuming the
- 6:56vent was coming from? The cellar?
- 6:58How did you get down? There, to which the voice would
- 7:02reply. I live here.
- 7:04Do you want to be my friend? Before Bobby has a chance to
- 7:08answer, the bizarre interaction is interrupted by his mother,
- 7:12Dorothy, asking him just who he was talking to.
- 7:16And Bobby would reply just a friend.
- 7:20Thinking this was weird and feeling uneasy about it, but
- 7:23assuming it was just an imaginary friend, she doesn't
- 7:27make a big deal out of it. She instead leans into things,
- 7:31telling her son that he needed to tell his friend that he'd be
- 7:35back in a little bit because his grandma was coming over to spend
- 7:39some time with the family. As the two make their way out of
- 7:42the bedroom, little does she know that his friend is more
- 7:47than happy to wait for the boy's return.
- 7:50When Bobby's grandmother arrived shortly after, they greet her in
- 7:54the living room. As a family living so close to
- 7:57them, she enjoys coming over to spend time with her grandkids
- 8:01and daughter. Francis, her daughter's husband,
- 8:05has recently also taken up a part time job alongside his main
- 8:08job at the aircraft manufacturing plant in order to
- 8:12help make ends meet for the family.
- 8:14So in order to help take care of the children and relieve some
- 8:18stress off of Dorothy, she often comes over.
- 8:22This particular day. After she arrives, Bobby and
- 8:26Robin ask her if she can tell them a story.
- 8:29She agrees, and soon the four of them gathered together in the
- 8:33living room of the house. She begins the story by asking
- 8:37them if their grandfather had ever told them about the history
- 8:41of the house they now lived in. With a resounding no.
- 8:45She proceeds. Well, she says, when your
- 8:49grandfather purchased this land and began building this very
- 8:53house, he hired a few contractors to assist in some of
- 8:57the construction. As they were digging up the dirt
- 9:00to lay the foundation of the home, they made a very strange
- 9:04discovery. As one of the men dug into the
- 9:07earth with his shovel, he made contact with something solid.
- 9:12Thinking it was a rock, he brushed the dirt off to the side
- 9:16to reveal something else. Instead, there before him, he
- 9:21found a bone. But this bone didn't seem to be
- 9:25that of a small animal and instead seemed too big.
- 9:29Placing it to the side, he continued to dig, only to reveal
- 9:34more bones and eventually a skull.
- 9:38A human skull. Quickly getting your
- 9:40grandfather's attention. Along with the other
- 9:43contractors, they discussed things as a group.
- 9:47Ultimately, though, they decided that they would not report the
- 9:51grisly discovery to the authorities.
- 9:54If they did, it would effectively tie up the
- 9:56construction of the house. Instead, assuming it had to have
- 10:01been an old, previous family's grave or something similar, they
- 10:05laid the bones back where they had found them and simply
- 10:08covered them back up. They would then pour the
- 10:11concrete of the home's foundation over the top of the
- 10:14grave, effectively sealing it. Part of the reason as to why
- 10:19they decided this, the grandmother continued, was that
- 10:23winter was coming and if they decided to wait any longer, they
- 10:27wouldn't have been able to pour the foundation and continue
- 10:30building the home because the ground would be frozen.
- 10:34With the children creeped out. The story time would be ended by
- 10:38Dorothy, who told the kids not to worry because it was nothing
- 10:42more than an old legend. In due time that day, Grandma
- 10:46would leave, but something else would not.
- 10:50As days turn to weeks and weeks to months, Bobby would continue
- 10:55to talk to who his parents believed to be his imaginary
- 10:59friend. His mother, by this point, had
- 11:02become fairly acclimated to hearing her son speak to
- 11:05someone, but she believed it was harmless.
- 11:08One day, as her son played in the living room while she
- 11:12cleaned, the phone would ring. Dorothy setting her duster down
- 11:17would quickly answer. It.
- 11:19On the other end, however, there was some kind of voice, but it
- 11:24was masked by static. The voice then turned to
- 11:27multiple whispers that were too heavily distorted for her to
- 11:31understand. As she asked who is this that's.
- 11:35Calling. The line dropped.
- 11:38Perplexed, she slowly set the phone down and tried to go back
- 11:43to dusting the living room. However, Bobby, who had been
- 11:47playing, was nowhere to be found.
- 11:50Calling out for her son, she received no reply.
- 11:54Growing concerned, she continued calling out to him and
- 11:58frantically started searching behind furniture.
- 12:01Thankfully, she found Bobby laying behind a sofa but in the
- 12:06fetal position, relieved that she had found him, but now also
- 12:10concerned as to why he was behaving this way.
- 12:13She asked him why he was. Hiding and Bobby ominously
- 12:17responded because of my friend. Bobby no longer enjoyed
- 12:23interactions with his friend. Upon hearing this, Dorothy
- 12:27became even more concerned as she probed him for information
- 12:31as to why he felt this way. Bobby went on to tell her that
- 12:35this friend, this man, had turned from a friendly, playful
- 12:40type of person to someone who had become very mean and
- 12:44controlling, and this scared him.
- 12:48As she heard these words, Dorothy too became scared.
- 12:53In later interviews, Bob would say this thing became the
- 12:56opposite of what I thought it was.
- 12:58I dreaded hearing its voice coming from my vent and it began
- 13:02to push me to do bad things. But despite his best efforts,
- 13:06the boy couldn't hide from him. One night, as Bobby lay in his
- 13:10bed asleep, he was suddenly woken up by the crashing of
- 13:14Thunder and the flickering of lightning.
- 13:16As the storm was salted the house, He quickly realized that
- 13:19his window was open and rain and wind were rushing in.
- 13:23Directly across from where his room was located, he could see
- 13:27the family clothesline and upon it were several sheets and
- 13:30articles of clothing that his mother had left to air dry
- 13:33earlier in the day. Then, without a gust of wind
- 13:37behind it, he watched as the sheet pulled away from the
- 13:40clothesline and as if it had a mind of its own, it quickly and
- 13:46aggressively flew through his window and on to Bobby.
- 13:49Caught off guard, the boy stumbled backwards and fell down
- 13:52as the sheet covered his entire body.
- 13:55He was pinned to the ground, screaming and writhing.
- 13:58Underneath it, the sheep began to pull tighter and tighter.
- 14:02A face pressed itself into the sheet before him and said the
- 14:06name. He then began to suffocate,
- 14:10screaming for his parents. The sheep was suddenly pulled
- 14:14away by Dorothy and Francis. They believed that their son had
- 14:17just had a terrible nightmare, but Bobby knew otherwise.
- 14:21In later interviews, Dorothy would say Bobby began to change,
- 14:25and this greatly bothered me. He was becoming more timid, more
- 14:28frightened, and I didn't know why.
- 14:31My husband and I began to notice that he was exhausted.
- 14:34He wasn't sleeping much at night and seemed drained during the
- 14:38day. Something, and I didn't know
- 14:40what, was causing this. The following morning concern
- 14:45for her son, she called in a doctor to examine him.
- 14:48Since he was acting so strangely, she believed that it
- 14:51could be some kind of medical problem that was affecting him.
- 14:54The doctor asked Bobby a series of questions and ran several
- 14:57tests to check if the boy was healthy.
- 15:00With his vital signs and reflexes being just fine, the
- 15:03doctor concluded that the boy was healthy.
- 15:06When told by Dorothy that he had been interacting with an
- 15:09imaginary person and that he'd been having horrible nightmares,
- 15:12the doctor again told her that it was perfectly normal for a
- 15:15child of his age to have an imaginary friend and that the
- 15:19nightmares were more than likely a result of an overactive
- 15:22imagination. Although she'd been told that
- 15:25her child was healthy, Dorothy wasn't satisfied.
- 15:28She believed that the doctors had dismissed her and or
- 15:30underestimated the severity of these nightmares and their
- 15:34effects on her son, but she chose to remain hopeful that for
- 15:38whatever reason, this phase of his life would pass and Bobby
- 15:42would go back to normal soon. However, this would prove to be
- 15:46far from what would happen. Over the next several weeks,
- 15:49Bobby's behaviour would only continue to decline.
- 15:52He developed an absolute fear of the cellar.
- 15:55One day his mother made homemade jam and placed it into jars.
- 15:59She asked her son to go down and grab some more jars from the
- 16:01cellar so she could finish her batch.
- 16:04Refusing at first, he was quickly scolded.
- 16:07At this point, Dorothy's patience had borne fin.
- 16:10She told her son that he was too old to be acting like this and
- 16:14that it had to stop. Still terrified, but not wanting
- 16:17to get into further trouble, the boy slowly and reluctantly made
- 16:22his way to the cellar door. He opened the door and began to
- 16:25descend the stairs, feeling the presence of someone or something
- 16:30slowly enveloping him the deeper he went into the cellar.
- 16:34Finally making it over to where the jars were stored, he turned
- 16:37towards the shelf and grabbed several as he turned around and
- 16:41started making his way back towards the stairs.
- 16:44Before he can make it, he heard a familiar voice from behind
- 16:48him. A dark brooding voice called his
- 16:52name. As the boy turned around he saw
- 16:55something that chilled him to the bone.
- 16:57A dark figure with pale skin stood before him.
- 17:02It's eyes were like that of a goat, it's pupils horizontally
- 17:07elongated. Within it's mouth he could see
- 17:10sharp and crooked teeth. It's hands contained sharp, long
- 17:14nails at the end of each finger. The figure lifted up its hand
- 17:19and beckoned for Bobby to cut, feeling absolutely terrified but
- 17:24also feeling a white hot rage well up and out while
- 17:27simultaneously throwing one of the jars in his hands at it.
- 17:31With this, the figure vanished almost as quickly as the throne
- 17:35jar shattered on the concrete wall behind where it once was.
- 17:39Startled by the sound of breaking glass, Dorothy rushed
- 17:42from the kitchen and down into the cellar to check on her son,
- 17:46frantically asking if he was OK and what's happened.
- 17:50She was told by Bobby that he was OK and that the man was
- 17:53finally gone. Thankfully for the immediate
- 17:56future, this was the last time he had to deal with the entity.
- 18:01In later interviews he would say it's like you're standing up to
- 18:05a bully, one you've dealt with for years and you finally have
- 18:08your day. I basically took the house back.
- 18:12Bobby would return to being a normal, happy child once again,
- 18:16to much the relief of the rest of his family.
- 18:18He started playing sports at the encouragement of his father and
- 18:21turned around his grades and attitude.
- 18:24He then effectively put the terrifying experiences behind
- 18:27him and moved forward with his life.
- 18:30The days turned to months and the months to years, and over
- 18:35the course of the next 40 years, Bob would become a child safety
- 18:40specialist with his career revolving around the safety of
- 18:44children. Believing his career was born
- 18:47out of his experiences from his own childhood.
- 18:50He wanted each and every child to feel safe, be safe, and be
- 18:55protected. Though this is his main career,
- 18:58Bob has also had a lifelong fascination with the paranormal
- 19:03as a result of those same exact experiences stemming from when
- 19:06he was a child. So he founded the Connecticut
- 19:10Paranormal Investigators in 2001 with several other like minded
- 19:15colleagues. He wanted to help people who may
- 19:17have felt the same sense of hopelessness and oppression that
- 19:20he himself. Felt as a child.
- 19:23Bob's parents, Francis and Dorothy, still live in the same
- 19:27house that he and his sister grew up in.
- 19:30Bob often stops by to check on his parents and to help his
- 19:33mother take care of his father, who has suffered with
- 19:36Parkinson's and dementia for the last 10 years.
- 19:40His father, an ex Marine, had always been so strong his entire
- 19:44life, to see him take a turn for the worse is very difficult to
- 19:48watch. Recently he seemed to go further
- 19:52downhill and at a faster pace. He started to complain about
- 19:57dark figures that no one else is able to see and has developed an
- 20:01absolute fear of the cellar, refusing to even go near the
- 20:05door to it within the kitchen, believing that this was just the
- 20:09progression of his father's disease.
- 20:11Bob is disturbed but continues to do what he can.
- 20:15In May of 2003, Francis Baker would ultimately pass away
- 20:21following his funeral. Dorothy, after 50 years of
- 20:25marriage, now has to adjust to living by herself after she
- 20:29discovers some of his old belongings in their bedroom.
- 20:33She longs for his presence as she mourns Frances.
- 20:37She is startled when she begins to hear a series of faint
- 20:40whispers coming from the living room.
- 20:43Believing that it could be her departed husband, she finds a
- 20:47sense of peace within the experience and carries on with
- 20:51her day when the whispers cease. Although she felt as if her
- 20:56departed love was still reaching for her from beyond the grave,
- 21:00she would have a very different experience.
- 21:02Later that night, as Dorothy lays sleeping in her bed with
- 21:07the pale moonlight draping over her, she suddenly wakes up when
- 21:11she feels a force upon her. Petrified, she feels the weight
- 21:16of someone or something depressed the bed next to her.
- 21:21Then the experience turns violent.
- 21:24Whatever this thing was shoved her, then began to thrash her
- 21:28from side to side. Though she had believed it was
- 21:32Francis trying to communicate from beyond the grave
- 21:34previously, this energy feels very different.
- 21:38It feels scary, abusive and smothering, not at all like her
- 21:44husband. And the evil presence finally
- 21:47leaves the room. Dorothy breaks down in tears,
- 21:51trying to come to terms with what had taken place.
- 21:54She contemplates life for several more hours, unable to go
- 21:58back to sleep. Finally, in the early morning
- 22:02hours, she decides to call Bob for help.
- 22:06Hearing his mother sobbing on the other end, Bob doesn't
- 22:09hesitate to come over with his equipment as soon as he can.
- 22:13After hearing his mother's testimony, he first dismisses
- 22:16her. He thinks that it's possible she
- 22:19had a night terror of sorts or was dealing with some kind of
- 22:23anxiety. Now, having to live alone after
- 22:26being with his father for so long, he agrees to visit Moore
- 22:30and starts getting ready to leave.
- 22:32But when Dorothy grabs his hand with tears in her eyes and tells
- 22:37him that this presence was evil and that she was utterly
- 22:40terrified, he can't help but reconsider what he had initially
- 22:44thought. Now convinced that something
- 22:47could be lurking within the confines of his childhood home,
- 22:51he starts his investigation. Using an audio recorder, he
- 22:55attempts to capture an EVP or electronic voice phenomena.
- 23:00As he records, he wanders throughout the house, asking if
- 23:04there's anything or anyone present that wishes to
- 23:08communicate. At first, things seem to be
- 23:11benign, but as he continues to probe, he suddenly feels a
- 23:16tension building within his chest.
- 23:18Then he hears footsteps cross the path in front of him.
- 23:23With this, he feels nauseous in this very moment.
- 23:27It's as if he's been sucked into a rift in time.
- 23:30He is taken back to the very moment when he first encountered
- 23:34the malevolent entity all those years ago was a boy terror
- 23:38stricken. But not wanting to further scare
- 23:41his mother, he decides to tell her that he believes that there
- 23:44is something there within the home, that they should have it
- 23:47blessed. He promises he will come back
- 23:50shortly with his team to further dig into just what they could be
- 23:54dealing with. Later that day, several members
- 23:58of the Connecticut Paranormal Investigators arrived.
- 24:01In Bob's words, it was bizarre to me because here I was, after
- 24:06all these years back in the same exact place where it all started
- 24:10for me. Bob is accompanied by his
- 24:12colleague John Myers, as well as Mary Curing.
- 24:16Mary, like Bob, was plagued by the paranormal in her childhood
- 24:20as well and seems to have an extra sense when it comes to
- 24:24dealing with the supernatural. As per her ability, Mary is not
- 24:28given any details about the case and is sent in first, acting
- 24:32almost as some kind of radar to see if there is something there
- 24:36and if it's good or bad. Within minutes of being inside,
- 24:41she senses a man and a woman, among several other spirits.
- 24:46As she continues to walk throughout the house, she makes
- 24:49her way into Bob's old bedroom, and it is here that she senses
- 24:52something evil, but it's not coming from directly inside the
- 24:57bedroom itself, rather seeping into the room from the vent, the
- 25:02very same vent that leads to the cellar.
- 25:05Notifying Bob and Joel of her findings, she tells them that
- 25:09they need to investigate the cellar because she believes that
- 25:12it's possible that this darker entity may have something to do
- 25:16with the other spirits within the house.
- 25:18In her own words, as we stepped down each step of the stairs
- 25:22leading into the cellar, the oppression became thicker and
- 25:26thicker. Finally making it down to the
- 25:28base level floor. She continues to walk around and
- 25:32pick up on numerous things as Bob and Joel take photos of the
- 25:36area for any potential evidence. Mary believes that something
- 25:39tragic occurred, something awful that now haunts the land itself.
- 25:44Something that when it occurred, drew this negative energy in as
- 25:49a beacon of sorts. In her mind's eye, she sees a
- 25:52vision of a man carrying bodies and burying them on the land.
- 25:58She now believes that perhaps these very same people are now
- 26:01buried underneath the house itself.
- 26:03Again, she has no prior knowledge about anything related
- 26:06to the house or the case. Following this vision, she sees
- 26:11something else appear before her.
- 26:14There, tucked in the darkest corner of the cellar, she sees
- 26:18an abhorrent robed figure with horrendous features.
- 26:22She believes that this entity is a demon.
- 26:26Asking Bob if he too sees the manifestation, she points to
- 26:30where it had appeared. After being asked to describe
- 26:33it, Bob is speechless. What she describes to him is the
- 26:37very same entity that he had stood up to when he was a child,
- 26:42in his own words. I never told Mary about my
- 26:45experiences or anything else about this house, and to have
- 26:49her describe to me exactly what I had seen myself was scary but
- 26:54also such a relief to me. It meant that what I had seen
- 26:59was real. The team decides to stay
- 27:02overnight to continue the investigation and to review the
- 27:05photos and recordings they had taken for any potential
- 27:08evidence, as well as to keep an eye on Dorothy and allow her to
- 27:12feel protected. As they review numerous photos,
- 27:16they eventually come across something peculiar in one of
- 27:19them that was taken in Bob's old room.
- 27:22At first glance, it appeared to be an orb.
- 27:25In Bob's words, it seemed to be an orb and I usually tend to
- 27:29dismiss those because they're more often than not a speck of
- 27:33dust or water vapour. But this one was different.
- 27:37Upon closer inspection, when zoomed in, it appeared to
- 27:41contain a face, one that was gnarled and rotting.
- 27:45It was the face of the same demon that Bob had seen all
- 27:49those years ago. Although this is incredibly
- 27:51unnerving, Bob does find solace knowing that he now has some
- 27:55kind of proof of its existence. As the team continues to dive
- 27:59into more photos, Dorothy is suddenly woken up by the feeling
- 28:03of two large hands pressing down on her shoulders and back,
- 28:07forcing her face into her pillow.
- 28:10Then there is a booming noise as her bed begins to shake up and
- 28:13down. Screaming out for her son, Bob
- 28:16and his team rushed to her bedroom.
- 28:19Whatever this thing was, it released her as they forced open
- 28:23the door. Dorothy would later say.
- 28:26I now knew that I was living in a house with something that
- 28:28could physically hurt me. I was terrified and I certainly
- 28:32didn't want to be there anymore. Bob now believes that the
- 28:36malevolent entity that is plaguing his mother is the very
- 28:39same one that plagued his childhood.
- 28:43Greatly concerned for his mother's welfare, they both
- 28:47decide at that moment that she will move out of the house and
- 28:51come to live with Bob. With his mother now out of the
- 28:54haunted house, the group has also decided to bring in a
- 28:58Catholic priest. Believing that whatever demonic
- 29:01force that dwelled within the walls of the home was far beyond
- 29:05their capabilities to defeat, they anxiously await his
- 29:09arrival. Soon, they receive a knock at
- 29:12the door. Upon answering it, Bishop Robert
- 29:16McKenna steps over the threshold and into the home.
- 29:20Bishop McKenna is a world renowned exorcist and no
- 29:23stranger to evil. They help that with his
- 29:26assistance, it can finally free the House of this tormentor.
- 29:31Wasting no time, the Bishop begins the exorcism prayer and
- 29:35walks from room to room throughout the house, sprinkling
- 29:39holy water as he consecrates the home.
- 29:42He's ultimately drawn to the cellar, making his way through
- 29:46the kitchen and opening the door leading to it.
- 29:50He seems to have a sixth sense as to where the entity dwelled.
- 29:54He was not given specific details about the case, only
- 29:58what had happened, not where. As he walks down, each step
- 30:03further descending, he is suddenly and viciously shoved by
- 30:08an unseen force. This violent push sends him
- 30:12falling down the rest of the stairs.
- 30:15As the group rushes to assist him at the bottom, they realize
- 30:18that this demon has real power. If it could shove a Bishop.
- 30:22Down a flight of stairs, it might be capable of much more.
- 30:28Thankfully, Bishop McKenna isn't seriously harmed.
- 30:32If anything, he's angry and further determined to attack the
- 30:36devil. As he continues his prayers and
- 30:39holds a blessed crucifix high into the air, they begin to hear
- 30:44sounds echo all around them in the dark cellar.
- 30:47This was almost certainly. Due to the agitation the Bishop
- 30:50was causing the demon, though, the atmosphere grows thick with
- 30:54animosity and the noises further intensify.
- 30:59The group stands their ground and begins to pray with the
- 31:02Bishop. With the lights flickering and
- 31:05the sounds louder than ever and items now being hurled around
- 31:09the cellar, they focus on the Bishop's words and hope their
- 31:14efforts will work. As the activity and the prayers
- 31:18both reach a synchronized crescendo, things suddenly cease
- 31:23as quickly as they had started. Sighing and feeling relieved,
- 31:29they all believe the demon has been vanquished.
- 31:32The environment seems lighter and calmer.
- 31:36They then head upstairs, thanking the Bishop for his
- 31:39help, believing that he was the ace in the hole for the fight
- 31:43itself. They would then pack up and
- 31:46leave for their respective homes for the rest of the day.
- 31:49Later that night, with his mother still at his home, Bob is
- 31:54greatly relieved, believing that the entity is finally gone and
- 31:59that he can, in good conscience, allow his mother to return to
- 32:03the house, knowing she'll be safe.
- 32:07It's lightly raining outside, and the droplets pelt the
- 32:10outside of his bedroom window as Bob lies in his bed, drifting
- 32:15off to dreamland. All seems peaceful until his
- 32:20sheet is suddenly wrapped around his head, screaming and gasping
- 32:25for air. He's being suffocated, just as
- 32:29he had when he was a child that stormy night all those years
- 32:34ago. Finally, through the thrashing,
- 32:38he's able to free himself from this cocoon of suffering.
- 32:41Shocked and upset, he now believes that their efforts have
- 32:46only angered the demon. It was most certainly not gone,
- 32:50but rather had followed him home, violating what should have
- 32:55been his sanctuary. With this revelation, over the
- 32:59course of the next several months, Bob and his team battle
- 33:03the demon with help from various outside organizations.
- 33:08Different blessings and religious groups are brought in,
- 33:12yet nothing seems to work. Also beginning to be attacked
- 33:16late at night is Bishop McKenna, who realizes that prayer alone
- 33:22has failed. The entity is much stronger than
- 33:26any of them realize. He arranges with Bob and the
- 33:30Connecticut Paranormal Investigators to return to
- 33:34Dorothy's home to try and rid the demon from the premises once
- 33:38again. When the day comes, the Bishop
- 33:41returns with Bob, Mary and Joel, and in conjunction with another
- 33:46exorcism. Prayer.
- 33:48He fills the house with thick plumes of blessed incense.
- 33:53This time the blessing doesn't seem to cause the entity to
- 33:57manifest physically. Upon finishing, they have the
- 34:01back and front doors open to expel the entity and allow the
- 34:06incense smoke to escape the home.
- 34:08They thank Bishop McKenna once again for his time and efforts.
- 34:14Following his orders. Upon the smoke departing the
- 34:17home, they allow it to sit for a week before returning, hoping
- 34:22that the demon has been vanquished back to hell.
- 34:26Upon returning, Bob and Joel sit at the kitchen table comparing
- 34:30notes and evidence. They had been there for several
- 34:34hours with no interruptions. That was until they heard three
- 34:39distinct knocks emanating from the cellar door.
- 34:43These knocks continued to repeat, and alongside this, they
- 34:48began to hear footsteps walk throughout the house.
- 34:51As the men glance at one another in disbelief, the footsteps
- 34:56begin to make their way toward the kitchen where they both are.
- 35:00Within seconds, both men grab their chests and fall to the
- 35:04floor, unable to breathe. In Bob's words, it felt like I
- 35:10was having a heart attack, like the weight of an elephant was
- 35:14sitting on my chest. I cannot breathe at all.
- 35:19Fearing for their lives, Bob manages to get back to his feet,
- 35:23begins dragging Joel toward an upright position.
- 35:26The two men then flee the home and utter panic.
- 35:31Believing this attack to not only be spiritual but also a
- 35:35near death experience as a result of it, Bob decides to
- 35:39call it a quits. Although he doesn't want to stop
- 35:42fighting, he believes that anyone involved may lose their
- 35:46lives as a result of the battle, so he vows to never return to
- 35:50the home. Nobody to this day has set foot
- 35:56back in the house feeling as though he was perhaps too close
- 36:01to the situation, that he should have let someone else conduct
- 36:04the investigation from the outside.
- 36:07But also now, knowing how powerful the entity is and
- 36:11having exhausted every effort, Bob didn't want anyone else to
- 36:15have their lives put at risk either.
- 36:18You essentially have to know when to hold them and when to
- 36:21fold them, as the old saying goes.
- 36:25Digging into this case was utterly fascinating to me and
- 36:28there are a few updates and opinions I'd like to share with
- 36:31you now. As far as updates go, Bishop
- 36:35Robert McKenna is no longer with us.
- 36:39He passed away on December 16th of 2015 at the age of 88.
- 36:45He had been involved in numerous famous haunting cases such as
- 36:49the Smurl haunting case as well as many other lesser known
- 36:53cases. Robin Baker married named Robin
- 36:58Santiago, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21st of 2019 at
- 37:05the age of 64. Lastly, Dorothy Baker passed
- 37:10away on February 1st of 2021 at the age of 87, never having
- 37:17remarried. She hopefully has now been
- 37:19reunited with her beloved Francis and her loving daughter
- 37:24Robin. I researched as deeply as I
- 37:27could to avoid any misinformation and I believe I
- 37:30found both Bob's company and his paranormal investigation
- 37:34website. Bob seems to still be with us
- 37:38and I hope wherever he is that he's thriving with his wife and
- 37:41family. I'm not going to share the
- 37:44company information or location to help maintain Bob's privacy.
- 37:49However, regarding his paranormal group, the
- 37:52Connecticut Paranormal Investigators, I'm unsure if
- 37:56they're still active. I was able to find their old
- 38:00website link. Upon clicking on it, it
- 38:03redirects to an archived side of a group known as Montana
- 38:07Paranormal. This group, at least as of last
- 38:10year, seems to still be active, but upon checking their staff
- 38:14directory, I didn't see Bob listed so I don't believe he's
- 38:19affiliated. Bob's story was made famous by
- 38:23the show A Haunting with the release of the episode An Evil
- 38:26in Bridgeport, which was later renamed The Nightmare in
- 38:30Bridgeport, which originally aired on October 26th of 2012.
- 38:36Shortly after this time, Bob also did an interview with AOL,
- 38:40their YouTube channel. As for the case details
- 38:43themselves, I believe that odds are there had to have been some
- 38:47kind of killing and the bodies buried upon the land.
- 38:51Perhaps with the violent nature of the deaths it could have
- 38:55attracted something evil like a demon, the bodies sealed
- 38:59underneath the foundation of the home.
- 39:01The poor souls trapped within never may be able to leave this
- 39:07and or they're being held captive as a power source by the
- 39:11demon itself. It certainly had to have been
- 39:15difficult to choose to walk away from the situation when he had
- 39:18been battling this creature since his childhood, but I do
- 39:22ultimately think that Bob made the right choice.
- 39:25I do think that if another group had been willing to take their
- 39:28chances that they should have been allowed to investigate the
- 39:31property, but I also respect him for not wanting other people to
- 39:35be put in harm's way. As far as the house goes,
- 39:39despite my best efforts, I'm unsure just what happened to it.
- 39:44If it still stands vacant today or has since been sold off, that
- 39:49would be something Bob himself would have to answer if he ever
- 39:52sees this video. And as with all the cases that
- 39:56we've covered here, we are sometimes left with more
- 39:58questions than answers. But one thing remains certain.
- 40:03There was some kind of dark, demonic force that stalked the
- 40:07walls of the Baker family home for one reason or another.
- 40:12One that tormented them with bated breath, seizing every
- 40:16opportunity to attack the weak. Stay safe out there.
- 40:22Stay vigilant. Don't allow yourself to become a
- 40:26sheep for the Devil's Wolf. Imaginary friends are generally
- 40:31considered to be a normal part of childhood development for
- 40:35some. But what would you do if your
- 40:38child's imaginary friend turned out to be much more than just
- 40:43imagination? When a woman notices that her
- 40:46son is speaking with a friend who she thinks doesn't exist,
- 40:52she dismisses it at first. However, this so-called friend
- 40:57would turn out to be anything but as an abhorrent force turns
- 41:02their lives upside down. Will they escape with their
- 41:06souls intact or will the entity consume them?
- 41:12I will warn you, as with many cases I've covered on this
- 41:16channel, to not watch this alone or in the dark unless you like a
- 41:22challenge, because this case is certainly no exception.
- 41:28Kentucky, a bastion of American beauty, wild and free on the
- 41:34surface, also harbors darkness. Home to the Mammoth Cave system,
- 41:42known to be the longest in the world, one can truly get lost
- 41:46inside its winding caverns and crevices.
- 41:51Kentucky contains many tales of legends, folklore, and
- 41:56hauntings. With caves older than bone
- 42:00beneath it and numerous battles fought on its surface, among
- 42:04other happenings, it's no surprise that this southern
- 42:09state holds such secrets. Our story begins in Western
- 42:14Kentucky with the Foster family, Jan, Dale, their five year old
- 42:20son Cody, and 16 year old daughter Pamela.
- 42:25Jan is a carrier for the US Postal Service and Dale is a
- 42:30contractor. Up until this point, the Fosters
- 42:33have been a relatively normal American family, but this would
- 42:38soon change. A nanny often stays with their
- 42:42son while the two parents work during the day, and tends to
- 42:46leave when one of the parents gets home from work for the day.
- 42:50One evening, the nanny asks for a word with Jan, with the two
- 42:56stepping off into the hallway for a more private word
- 42:59together. The nanny tells her that Cody
- 43:03has been using some very bad language and that she's
- 43:07concerned about his behavior. Jan is shocked to.
- 43:10Hear this because they've always considered themselves a fairly
- 43:14strict family on what can and can't be said in their house, so
- 43:19she's not sure where the boy would have heard such language.
- 43:23Alongside the curse words, Cody has been incredibly defiant,
- 43:28extremely rude and angry towards the nanny.
- 43:32He has also been speaking with someone who isn't there.
- 43:37After assuring the nanny that Cody was not exposed to this
- 43:40kind of behavior in their home, Jan then said she would correct
- 43:45his behavior and apologized for these very unexpected
- 43:48happenings. Several hours later, as she
- 43:52tucks her son into bed for the night, she asked him to tell her
- 43:56about his new friend. Cody tells his mother that his
- 44:00friend's name is Man, thinking this was strange and asking him
- 44:06why doesn't his friend have a real name like John or George.
- 44:11She is quickly corrected by her son that it is simply Man.
- 44:18Finding this bizarre, but believing this to be somewhat
- 44:21normal, that her son is simply using his active imagination to
- 44:26create a friend who didn't really exist, she thinks nothing
- 44:30of it. However, in later interviews she
- 44:35would have this to say. I didn't realize it then, but
- 44:39this was a massive warning sign and it's one I shouldn't have
- 44:44ignored. Shortly after putting her son to
- 44:48bed and laying down herself, Jan is woken up by the sound of
- 44:54thumping from across the hall. Stepping out into the hallway to
- 44:59examine just what this could be, she then hears the laughter of
- 45:03her son. Believing he's just playing and
- 45:07very tired herself, she asks him to please stop through his door
- 45:13and to go back to bed. She then heads back to her own
- 45:17bedroom once again after the laughter ceases.
- 45:22Several hours later, in another bedroom down the hall, 16 year
- 45:27old Pamela's woken up out of a sound sleep herself, but by
- 45:31something very different. Feeling as if she was being
- 45:35watched, she begins to hear scratching originating from
- 45:39underneath her bed. Perplexed, she rolls out of bed
- 45:44to look underneath it, and quickly she comes face to face
- 45:50with nothing. The scratching then begins to
- 45:54move as if it's under the floorboards.
- 45:57It moves from underneath the bed, through the floor and then
- 46:02up into the wall closest to her bedroom door.
- 46:06The poor teen has never experienced anything like this
- 46:09before. As the sounds continue, she
- 46:13quickly, yet cautiously makes her way out of her bedroom and
- 46:18into her parents room. She would later describe the
- 46:21scratching sounds like someone taking their fingernails and
- 46:25with all of their strength, grating them against the various
- 46:30surfaces. As the sound moved, Jan is
- 46:34startled awake as she sees a blackened figure standing over
- 46:39her. It's Pamela telling her mother
- 46:42that she's. Scared.
- 46:44Jan then, thinking she must have had a nightmare, brings her into
- 46:48the bed to quell her fear. Although this night was strange
- 46:53to say the least, it's nothing compared to what's coming the
- 46:58following morning. As Jan wakes up and begins
- 47:02getting ready for the day, she steps into the shower and begins
- 47:07washing herself. Several minutes into her shower,
- 47:11however, she hears something fall over in the bathroom with
- 47:16the door closed, and after examining the room from the tub,
- 47:20she sees no one. She does however, see a soap
- 47:25bottle that has fallen onto the floor from the side of the
- 47:28bathtub. Thinking this was weird due to
- 47:32its positioning, but overlooking it, she simply places the bottle
- 47:37back onto the ledge and continues with her shower.
- 47:41She then begins to hear footsteps walking all throughout
- 47:44the bathroom. Rinsing the soap out of her hair
- 47:48and making sure she doesn't get any in her eyes, she then turns
- 47:52around and sees the outline of a man through the steamed up
- 47:57shower curtain. This man was tall, much taller
- 48:01than her husband, and she didn't hear the door open to indicate
- 48:06anyone else's presence. Panicking, she pulls the curtain
- 48:11aside, yet no one is there yet again.
- 48:16She does however see small muddy child size shoe prints on the
- 48:22floor. Quickly finishing her shower and
- 48:26after drying off she finds and checks Cody's shoes but there
- 48:31are no signs of mud to be seen. This makes her uneasy because
- 48:37only his shoes would have even been close to how small the shoe
- 48:41prints were. Then heading to her son's room
- 48:46to see if he was awake or not, she finds him playing with his
- 48:50toy fire truck in the corner of the room.
- 48:54Yet he is speaking to a chair where no one is sitting.
- 48:59Telling his friend that he didn't want to do that, that he
- 49:03just wants to play with his toys.
- 49:06Cody is then interrupted by his mother, who asked him just who
- 49:10he's speaking with. Replying with man.
- 49:15The little boy then continues to play with his fire truck.
- 49:20Jandin tells Cody that he needs to tell his friend goodbye and
- 49:25that it's time to get ready for the day.
- 49:28This seems to turn a switch within the boy.
- 49:32Suddenly her five year old has gone from happy and playing with
- 49:37his toys to becoming irate at the drop of a dime, screaming at
- 49:44his mother that he didn't want to and that man said he didn't
- 49:48have to. Being countered by his mother,
- 49:52she tells him that he will get ready or there's going to be
- 49:56serious consequences. Scowling at her eventually he
- 50:01does as he's told, but the look behind his eyes is 1.
- 50:07His mother doesn't recognize and it'll become one all too common.
- 50:13In the near future. Over the next several weeks,
- 50:17Cody's behavior has shifted completely.
- 50:20He's gone from a fairly calm and loving child to one that is
- 50:25cold, angry, and sometimes violent.
- 50:30He doesn't want to follow commands or do things he once
- 50:34enjoyed doing. He only wants to spend time with
- 50:38his imaginary friend, someone he calls man.
- 50:44One afternoon as his parents sit together watching their son
- 50:49play, they ask him to tell them about man.
- 50:53Just who is he and how old is he?
- 50:57Cody would set down the toys that he had been playing with
- 51:01and tell them he's 6 and that he has brown hair and brown eyes
- 51:08and pale skin. Interested in what he had to
- 51:12say, the couple would then ask their son just where did Man
- 51:17come from. He would respond with from
- 51:21behind the park where the lake is from deep underground.
- 51:28Obviously concerned and intrigued even further, Jan
- 51:33asked Cody if something happened to Man.
- 51:37Cody with tears streaming down his face would reply that a
- 51:43stranger took him from his mommy and did terrible things to him,
- 51:49that he cried for his mommy but she never found him.
- 51:54With tears now falling from her eyes, Jan then asks her son who
- 52:00would almost be the same age as man.
- 52:03Is man dead Cody? His answer would cause a cold
- 52:08shiver to shake her entire body. He would answer with yes.
- 52:17Disturbed by her son's answer, Jan Foster believes that her son
- 52:22may have befriended the. Spirit.
- 52:24Of a dead child. Dan, however, is not fully
- 52:29convinced. Back story to his imaginary
- 52:31friend. He thinks that it's just that
- 52:34imaginary. With this revelation, Jane
- 52:39decides to take researching things into her own hands.
- 52:43She decides the following day to go to the local library and to
- 52:47sift through records to see if she could find anything that
- 52:51sounded similar to the back story of the boy that her son
- 52:56described to her. She avidly searches going back
- 53:01as far as the records do that were available about 50 years or
- 53:06so. Although she believes her son
- 53:09believes the story he told her, she begins to doubt what this
- 53:14entity could have told her son because no evidence materializes
- 53:21of the dead boy's back story. Over the next several months,
- 53:26Cody withdrawals completely from interacting with the family.
- 53:31He didn't want to spend time with anyone.
- 53:34He stopped playing with his toys and his only outlet seems to be
- 53:40man day in and day out he just continues to have full blown
- 53:47conversations with this invisible person.
- 53:52Angered and feeling as if she was losing her son, Jan decides
- 53:57to try anything it takes to get him back.
- 54:03One evening she makes a phone call to an old friend of hers, a
- 54:07Native American medicine man who she believes could perhaps offer
- 54:12insight on what to do about her family situation.
- 54:17Within a day he arrives, speaking with Jan and Dale in
- 54:22their living room. He begins to hear from Jan just
- 54:26what all has been taking place. Dale, although skeptical of both
- 54:31his son's situation and now the involvement of a medicine man,
- 54:35remains so, but wants to support his wife, thinking that this
- 54:40could perhaps make her feel better about what had been
- 54:43happening in his own words. I was concerned that something
- 54:48had really scared Jan, and I knew that she was upset.
- 54:53Although I didn't believe in this kind of stuff, I thought
- 54:56that maybe it could help her feel better.
- 55:00As Jan finishes explaining the situation as a whole to the
- 55:04medicine man, he comes to the conclusion that it's possible
- 55:09that Cody has invited the spirit into the house.
- 55:13He explains that the only way to get rid of the spirit is to
- 55:17revoke the invitation by praying and forcibly cleansing the home.
- 55:24That the owner of the house had to do this on their own to
- 55:28banish the spirit. He then instructs Jan to burn
- 55:32sage and sweet grass and directed towards the four
- 55:37corners of the property. After this is done, each doorway
- 55:42of the home must be anointed with olive oil to finish the
- 55:47cleansing. He also warns that some spirits
- 55:51may not want to go so easily and that it's imperative that she
- 55:57focus and pray the entire time for the spirit to leave and most
- 56:03importantly, to pray for her son.
- 56:07The following morning, after everyone else had departed for
- 56:11the day, Jan begins the ritual. As the sage smoke smudges the
- 56:17air, Jan begins to worry but tries her best to remain strong
- 56:24in her own words. Was I worthy enough of God to
- 56:28hear my prayers, my strongest pleas to Him, to help me through
- 56:32this, to help me cleanse this house and this property?
- 56:38I doubted myself for brief moments that I wouldn't be able
- 56:42to. It was the fear of knowing if it
- 56:45didn't work, what would happen Then, within due time, she
- 56:51finishes the cleansing. But will it be enough?
- 56:55Later that night, once everyone else had returned home, she is
- 57:00brought to tears. Cody seems to be back to his old
- 57:04self. He's spending time with his
- 57:07father, having a story read to him from a book in his room
- 57:12before bed. Over the next three months, all
- 57:17is calm and well. Cody seems to be more
- 57:20responsive. He's much.
- 57:22Happier. And most importantly, there is
- 57:26no mention of any kind of an imaginary friend.
- 57:31That was until one afternoon. In Jan's own words, Cody wasn't
- 57:38totally back, but we were certainly making great strides.
- 57:43All seemed to be well. And then, out of nowhere, three
- 57:46months after the ritual, he began speaking to man again.
- 57:52When I heard him, I could not move.
- 57:55I was in so much fear. He kept talking for a while and
- 58:01then all of a sudden he went quiet.
- 58:05When I went into his room, he was holding something in his
- 58:09hands. It was a photograph.
- 58:13I said where did you get this? I then reached down to grab it
- 58:18and he went berserk. Cody screamed and clawed at her.
- 58:24His screams and yells seem to be layered, as if two voices were
- 58:30speaking through him simultaneously.
- 58:34As Jan examined the photo, it appeared to be an older
- 58:38Polaroid, possibly from the late 50s or early 60s.
- 58:45There was an elderly woman, perhaps a grandmother, and next
- 58:49to her was a small boy. As her son relents, she asked
- 58:55him just who was this a picture of and he responded with man.
- 59:04Shocked at what she was both looking at as well as hearing,
- 59:08Jan then asked Cody where did you get this picture?
- 59:12He proceeds to tell her that man gave it to him.
- 59:17This causes her to burst into tears.
- 59:21The ritual, which had seemed to work for a good portion of time,
- 59:26didn't seem to get rid of the entity.
- 59:29She now wonders what will happen now?
- 59:32What are the next steps that she can take for herself and her
- 59:37family? The following day, as Jan
- 59:41arrives back home from work, she walks into chaos.
- 59:46Cody is screaming and berating the nanny.
- 59:50He's throwing his food onto the floor.
- 59:53She immediately goes to reprimand her son and is
- 59:57surprised by what he does. With one hand, he shoves her,
- 1:00:03and he does so with so much force that she falls down into
- 1:00:07the wall behind her. Cody then screams at her man
- 1:00:12said I didn't have to listen to any of you any more.
- 1:00:16And then he runs out of the room.
- 1:00:19Stunned by both her son's strength and behavior, she gets
- 1:00:24back up off the ground now to see the nanny packing her
- 1:00:28things. She had decided that she
- 1:00:30couldn't deal with the child anymore.
- 1:00:33She suggests getting him some counseling, and although Jan
- 1:00:37tries her absolute best to keep her employed, she leaves.
- 1:00:43Later that night, Jan tries to keep herself together as the
- 1:00:47family sits down to eat dinner. In her own words, I was trying
- 1:00:53to keep things together. I needed to be an employee, a
- 1:00:57mother, and a wife. I was also the one bearing the
- 1:01:01brunt of my son's abuse. But by now, there was no love
- 1:01:06coming from Cody. No hugs, kisses, or real
- 1:01:11interactions. Just pure hatred.
- 1:01:15He was a total stranger to me at this point and I didn't know how
- 1:01:19to handle this. She begins to believe that
- 1:01:23something far more sinister than a little boy is manipulating her
- 1:01:28son. She's unsure of exactly what it
- 1:01:31is, but she knows deep down that it's evil.
- 1:01:36After losing the nanny, Jan and Dale have to start taking Cody
- 1:01:41to a cousin's house to be watched during the day so the
- 1:01:44two could work to support the family.
- 1:01:48After dropping Cody off for the first time at the cousin's
- 1:01:51house, Jan then heads to work like normal.
- 1:01:55Several hours into her work day, as she loads packages onto a
- 1:01:59mail truck, she is told she has an urgent phone call.
- 1:02:03It's from her cousin, in her own words.
- 1:02:08When I picked up the phone, she was incoherent.
- 1:02:12She was crying and kept repeating that I had to come get
- 1:02:15Cody now that she could not watch him anymore.
- 1:02:20Rushing from work to her cousin's house, Jan has no idea
- 1:02:24what could have happened but is quickly about to find out.
- 1:02:29She arrives and runs up to the door and is greeted by her
- 1:02:33cousin holding Cody by the arm. She is then told what had
- 1:02:38happened when Cody and her daughter were playing in the
- 1:02:41living room while she cleaned in the kitchen.
- 1:02:44She listened to make sure that everything was OK.
- 1:02:48She began to hear another voice, a third voice on that was deeper
- 1:02:54like that of a grown man, concerned but still trying to
- 1:02:59decipher what was happening. The air was then filled with the
- 1:03:03screams of her daughter running to the living room.
- 1:03:07She then saw Cody standing across from her daughter with
- 1:03:11multiple toys floating in the air around them.
- 1:03:15Upon seeing the scene, she covered her mouth, trying not to
- 1:03:18scream as the toys fell 1 by 1 and hit the ground.
- 1:03:25She told Jan that she was afraid of Cody and that not only could
- 1:03:29she not watch him anymore, but that her daughter was not
- 1:03:33allowed to play with him either. It's a somber drive back home.
- 1:03:38Jan knows that she has to have someone watch Cody during the
- 1:03:42day because she can't afford to lose her job.
- 1:03:46Once the 2 arrive, she grabs the phone book and frantically
- 1:03:50begins calling daycares, trying to find a reputable place that
- 1:03:54will take him. Finally finding one after a few
- 1:03:58phone calls, she sighs with relief.
- 1:04:02After hanging up the phone, she sits at the table with her son.
- 1:04:06She tells him that he is in no circumstances allowed to take
- 1:04:11man with him anywhere, but especially to his new daycare.
- 1:04:17Surprisingly, the child agrees not to.
- 1:04:21For the next week, all seems well during the day, with Cody
- 1:04:26at daycare and his parents working their jobs, but at
- 1:04:31night, the entity known as Man waits for him to return.
- 1:04:36One evening, as Dale goes to Cody's room to get him for
- 1:04:40supper, he finds his son cutting up stuffed animals.
- 1:04:45Although the incident disturbs him, he doesn't blame it on
- 1:04:49anything paranormal. He sits Cody in the living room
- 1:04:53and discusses the matter with his wife in the adjacent
- 1:04:56kitchen. In the meantime, Cody had other
- 1:05:00plans. As Dale describes, that man told
- 1:05:04their son that it was OK for him to cut up his toys to Jan.
- 1:05:09The two suddenly stop when they hear the muffled screams of the
- 1:05:13family cat. Pamela, heading out of her
- 1:05:17bedroom, then confronts her younger brother.
- 1:05:21She yells at him and pushes him off the couch.
- 1:05:25There, underneath where he had been sitting, he had.
- 1:05:28Trapped the cat. With a cushion and a pillow,
- 1:05:33seemingly trying to suffocate it as Pamela tends to the poor
- 1:05:38animal. Jan and Dale rush into the room
- 1:05:42and they see a sinister grin upon Cody's face.
- 1:05:46Horrified, the couple realized that they can't pretend to be
- 1:05:50rational anymore. Whatever that's happening to
- 1:05:53their son was serious, but they were unsure of just how to
- 1:05:58tackle the situation. The following morning as Jan
- 1:06:03goes to grab clothes from Cody's closet to get him ready for
- 1:06:06daycare, she notices that his clothes are damp and that
- 1:06:11wouldn't be all his toys and bed were wet as well.
- 1:06:16She would discover that her son had been urinating all over his
- 1:06:20things inside and outside of his closet.
- 1:06:25Further disturbed, she then confronts him and he says that
- 1:06:30man told him it was OK and that he didn't have to listen to her
- 1:06:34anymore. He then begins hitting her and
- 1:06:38lashing out, which only causes her more emotional torment and
- 1:06:44her own words. Everything started happening at
- 1:06:48such a fast pace, the behavior, the urinating, trying to kill
- 1:06:54the kitten. I just wanted my son back and I
- 1:06:59felt as if he was being controlled by some kind of
- 1:07:02monster. 1 Cold Night As wind whips the windows of the house,
- 1:07:10the Fosters are surprised by a visitor in their room in the
- 1:07:13middle of the night. It's Cody.
- 1:07:17He's calling out to them for the first time in a very long time.
- 1:07:23He said that his bed was shaking and that he needed his Mama.
- 1:07:29At this moment, Jan saw the glimpse of the boy she hadn't
- 1:07:33seen in over. A year.
- 1:07:35As she holds her child for the first time in what feels like an
- 1:07:39eternity, she knows that man is not with him.
- 1:07:44She also is reminded why she must keep fighting for her boy,
- 1:07:49that ultimately she must confront this entity.
- 1:07:54Waiting until Cody was fast asleep in their bed with Dale,
- 1:07:58Jane quietly gets out of bed and heads down the hallway and
- 1:08:03towards Cody's room by herself. With every step she takes, she's
- 1:08:09silently praying to God to give her the strength to confront
- 1:08:14whatever this creature is that has a grip on her family.
- 1:08:18Finally making it to the threshold of the room, she takes
- 1:08:23a deep breath and enters. Glancing around the room, she
- 1:08:29sees nothing. Wanting to put herself in the
- 1:08:33shoes of her son, she lays down where he would normally sleep in
- 1:08:37his bed, hoping that if she persists enough, that man would
- 1:08:43possibly try to communicate with.
- 1:08:45Her. She lays there for several
- 1:08:48minutes, but nothing happens. She then sees who she believes
- 1:08:54to be her son in the doorway, calling out to him.
- 1:08:58He comes to her and embraces her.
- 1:09:02However, Jansen senses that something is horribly wrong.
- 1:09:08The embrace feels all wrong, his hands are ice cold, and then
- 1:09:14suddenly she realizes that this isn't her son at all as she
- 1:09:19pushes the figure. Back.
- 1:09:21It begins to grow. It soon towers over her.
- 1:09:26Its skin is pale and its eyes a deep blood red.
- 1:09:33Its teeth are gnarled and rotten.
- 1:09:37It pushes her down onto the. Bed.
- 1:09:40Begins laughing in a deep demonic tone.
- 1:09:45In Jan's own words, he started laughing very demonically when
- 1:09:52this sudden realization came over me.
- 1:09:55This was man screaming for her life.
- 1:10:00The apparition disappears in the blink of an eye as soon as her
- 1:10:04family rushes into Cody's room to figure out just what was
- 1:10:08going on. Dale then holds his wife as she
- 1:10:12sobs uncontrollably. Once she finally regains her
- 1:10:16bearings, Jan calms the rest of the family down enough to get
- 1:10:20them all back into bed for the night.
- 1:10:23She, however, is unable to sleep, heading to the living
- 1:10:28room. Contemplating just what exactly
- 1:10:31to do about this grievous revelation, she begins begging
- 1:10:35God for guidance in her own words.
- 1:10:38Yet again. I was frightened beyond means,
- 1:10:42but another part of me, once the adrenaline started surging, knew
- 1:10:47that I had to face this. I had to do something to protect
- 1:10:51my family and to protect Cody and to keep this entity from
- 1:10:56taking him any further. Jane considers many things,
- 1:11:01including packing up her family to move, but she thinks that man
- 1:11:05is certainly attached to her son, that it wouldn't do any
- 1:11:09good. She doesn't sleep through the
- 1:11:12rest of the night. The following morning, as
- 1:11:16everyone else heads out to start their day, she takes Cody to
- 1:11:20daycare, as is the normal routine, but instead of heading
- 1:11:25to work herself, she heads back home and makes an urgent phone
- 1:11:29call. She calls her friend who is a
- 1:11:33Native American medicine man. By this time she hasn't spoken
- 1:11:38to him in about a year since everything started.
- 1:11:42Thankfully he picks up on the other end.
- 1:11:45She explains everything that has been transpiring and that she's
- 1:11:49seen the entity with her own eyes.
- 1:11:52That she believes it to be some kind of demon.
- 1:11:56That this a born entity had been masquerading as a little boy to
- 1:12:00gain entry into her son's life. The shaman explains that he now
- 1:12:06understands why the initial cleansing didn't work.
- 1:12:09He believed that the intent was not specific enough since they
- 1:12:13believed that they were revoking an invitation of a little boy
- 1:12:17and not something darker. He then tells her that she will
- 1:12:22have to bless the house again, only this time she must focus
- 1:12:27with all of her strength on riding the home of this evil
- 1:12:30spirit. Jam wonders if she's strong
- 1:12:33enough to be able to accomplish this alone in her own words.
- 1:12:38I didn't know if I was going to be able to do this myself.
- 1:12:42I'm just a mom. I'm not a priest.
- 1:12:45I'll be it. I have a spiritual side, but I
- 1:12:48was willing to give it my all to defend myself and my family.
- 1:12:54The shaman tells her that she must do this and must be brave
- 1:12:58and forceful with her intent to banish this demon, that she must
- 1:13:04not show any doubt and her efforts.
- 1:13:08With these parting words, Jan braces herself and then gets to
- 1:13:13work performing a second ritual. Starting on the four corners of
- 1:13:18the property, she creates A barrier using olive oil.
- 1:13:22She then enters a state of constant prayer while she sages
- 1:13:27around her property, slowly working her way inside.
- 1:13:32This time, instead of feeling weak, she begins to feel an
- 1:13:37inner strength, as if someone or something was standing beside.
- 1:13:42Her during her prayers. As she enters her home, she
- 1:13:48notices that the temperature of the house is abnormally cold,
- 1:13:53frigid to the point to where she can see her breath hang in the
- 1:13:57air as it fills with sage smoke. She knows there is a presence
- 1:14:03that resides within its walls. Feeling as if she's being
- 1:14:07watched, she continues to pray and smudge the home, going from
- 1:14:13room to room. As she does this, the walls and
- 1:14:18windows begin to shake, yet her prayers are uninterrupted.
- 1:14:25She knows that Man is watching her, trying to break her
- 1:14:29concentration. As the activity reaches a fever
- 1:14:33pitch, so do her prayers. She is yelling now and calling
- 1:14:40upon God to banish the entity known as Man from her home and
- 1:14:45from all of their lives. It is here that suddenly and
- 1:14:50violently, all of the doors within the house open, and an
- 1:14:55unearthly scream echoes all throughout the house.
- 1:14:59Then, as quickly as the doors opened, they suddenly all
- 1:15:04slammed closed. Breathing heavily, Jan
- 1:15:08immediately notices that the feeling within the home is like
- 1:15:12night turning. Today, in her own words, was if
- 1:15:18a veil had lifted, a dark veil of pain and confusion.
- 1:15:24I noticed the trees and I could hear the birds.
- 1:15:28I was back to a normal reality. Following this intense
- 1:15:34cleansing, the entity known as man has yet to return.
- 1:15:39In due time, the foster family seemed to go back to normal.
- 1:15:44Cody in particular ceased the horrendous behavior and was no
- 1:15:49longer influenced by the darkness of the demonic.
- 1:15:55However, this wasn't the end to the strange paranormal
- 1:15:58manifestations they would all experience.
- 1:16:02They continued to hear noises they couldn't explain and feel
- 1:16:07as if unseen eyes were watching them at all times.
- 1:16:12Was this the demon known as Man? Slytherin around them, watching
- 1:16:17and waiting to devour their very souls.
- 1:16:22This case has been requested numerous times for me to cover
- 1:16:26and I'm glad to have finally given it its time of day.
- 1:16:30It's certainly a terrifying and very intriguing one to say the
- 1:16:34least. The names within the case were
- 1:16:37changed to protect the anonymity of the family who was involved,
- 1:16:41therefore, updates as hard as I looked are unavailable.
- 1:16:46I can only hope that the foster family or whoever they may be,
- 1:16:51are good and safe today. That Cody and Pamela have grown
- 1:16:56up to be decent, functioning people, and I truly wish them
- 1:17:00all the best. With that being said, I do have
- 1:17:05several questions and statements I'd like to share with you.
- 1:17:08Now, these are my thoughts on the case as a whole.
- 1:17:12First of all, just how did man enter Cody's life?
- 1:17:16Was it a demon that was stalking or haunting the land itself?
- 1:17:22Was it picked up somewhere else and then brought back with the
- 1:17:25child? It obviously posed itself as a
- 1:17:28child in order to gain Cody's trust to begin with.
- 1:17:32This reminds me a lot of the Sally House case which I had
- 1:17:35just covered several weeks ago now, and it goes to show that
- 1:17:39the demonic has no qualms about masquerading itself as the
- 1:17:43ultimate innocence in order to prey upon us.
- 1:17:47Do you think the native banishing was sufficient, or do
- 1:17:51you think a Catholic priest should have been involved?
- 1:17:54I'm always curious to hear people's feedback on situations
- 1:17:57like this because I have personally seen a banishing
- 1:18:00happen in real time using sage, but the entity was just forced
- 1:18:05outside of the house. It continued to try to get back
- 1:18:08in, but if cleansing using sage on the property as a whole as
- 1:18:13well as the house was done, maybe it would have forced the
- 1:18:16spirit out entirely. Considering Jan used Christian
- 1:18:20prayer alongside sage and sweetgrass smudging, it
- 1:18:24certainly makes for a very interesting hybrid cleansing
- 1:18:28that in my opinion, would have worked if her faith was strong
- 1:18:31enough. If man gave Cody an old Polaroid
- 1:18:35of who he supposedly was in life as the one shown to Jan by Cody
- 1:18:41with the little boy and the elderly lady, just where did
- 1:18:45this picture come from and who did it end up being?
- 1:18:49Did it come from inside the house or somewhere else?
- 1:18:54And lastly, as to not pose too many questions, if the family
- 1:18:59continued to experience paranormal happenings such as
- 1:19:02unexplained noises and the feelings of being watched, was
- 1:19:07man ever truly banished or just weakened by Jan's cleansing
- 1:19:12efforts? Or.
- 1:19:14If man was banished, did perhaps something else happen on the
- 1:19:19land where the home now sits that could have potentially
- 1:19:23scarred it, such as a tragic event?
- 1:19:26And with this being said, could there possibly be a portal on
- 1:19:30the land or now within the house itself?
- 1:19:33One where the veil between our world and the next is much
- 1:19:38thinner, allowing entities, especially dark ones.
- 1:19:43To sneak through. Ultimately, your conclusions are
- 1:19:48up to you. When a young family seeking a
- 1:19:51bright future moves into a new house, it seems as if their
- 1:19:56dreams have come true until a malevolent force makes itself
- 1:20:00known. Tormented visions and violent
- 1:20:04attacks leave them all questioning just what insidious
- 1:20:07force slithers behind the walls of their new home.
- 1:20:12Will they make it out alive or will the entity known as Sally
- 1:20:17keep them as playmates forever? This is a case I have personal
- 1:20:22experience with and it certainly is very unnerving.
- 1:20:26I wouldn't recommend watching this video in the dark unless
- 1:20:29you like a challenge. Located in northeast Kansas is a
- 1:20:36town known as Atchison, situated on the Bluffs of the Missouri
- 1:20:40River and offering sweeping views of the River Valley
- 1:20:43beyond. Grand Victorian homes and
- 1:20:47cobblestone roads recall glorious days when wealthy
- 1:20:50lumber merchants and railroad magnates once occupied the town.
- 1:20:55But as one walks the streets today, they can't help but feel
- 1:20:59a tingle down their spine and a cold shutter in their soul.
- 1:21:04It seems to be a kind of hot spot that harbors otherworldly
- 1:21:08forces. The time is March of 1993.
- 1:21:13Newly married couple Tony and Deborah Pikman begin renting a
- 1:21:16house in Atchison. After weeks of unboxing their
- 1:21:20belongings, their new house is finally starting to feel like a
- 1:21:24home. In the words of Tony Pikman, we
- 1:21:27had finally moved into a new place my wife was expecting, and
- 1:21:32we were just very much looking forward to starting a family
- 1:21:35together. It was a good time for us and
- 1:21:39with Deborah Pikman later saying that, we thought the home was
- 1:21:42perfect for us. It was spacious, it had several
- 1:21:46bedrooms, and we just knew that it was the perfect house.
- 1:21:50But what they failed to realize was that this house was far from
- 1:21:54perfect for anyone. After about a month of living
- 1:21:59there, strange things began to occur.
- 1:22:02First the TV began to turn on and off by itself, and small
- 1:22:07objects like their keys began to move on their own.
- 1:22:11Thinking that perhaps they were misremembering where they had
- 1:22:14placed their keys and the TV turning on and off was possibly
- 1:22:18faulty wiring, they contacted their landlord about the matter.
- 1:22:23But after having an electrician come out, you would find nothing
- 1:22:27wrong with the wiring. Although old, it was functioning
- 1:22:31as intended. Although the Pikmans thought the
- 1:22:34happenings were strange, they simply overlooked them.
- 1:22:39Later that summer, Deborah would give birth to a baby boy who
- 1:22:42they would name Taylor, and when the young family comes back home
- 1:22:46from the hospital, Deborah's sister Karen flies in from
- 1:22:49Buffalo, NY to help her sister get some much needed rest as she
- 1:22:54begins to heal from giving birth and starts adjusting to taking
- 1:22:58care of a newborn. Although the help is greatly
- 1:23:01appreciated. It seems to pass.
- 1:23:04Quickly, although the Pikmans are still adjusting to the late
- 1:23:07night cries of their newborn son, his Christ seemed to wake
- 1:23:11up more than just his parents. One afternoon, while Tony hangs
- 1:23:16pictures upstairs, he sees a shadow move out of the corner of
- 1:23:20his eye. He then hears the giggle of a
- 1:23:24little girl. Finding this odd, he glances
- 1:23:27around his general area and it's here that he discovers something
- 1:23:31even stranger. There and his son's nursery on
- 1:23:35the floor, is all of Taylor, stuffed animals neatly arranged
- 1:23:40in a circle. Thinking this was bizarre, they
- 1:23:44ultimately would laugh it off, thinking that perhaps someone
- 1:23:47they knew had to come into the home and played a prank on them,
- 1:23:51that perhaps they didn't notice it until now.
- 1:23:54They thought that maybe Tony's brother Allen, who was a known
- 1:23:57prankster, was to blame. Laughing it off, they went back
- 1:24:01to what they had been doing previously.
- 1:24:04It wasn't until a few minutes later that Deborah would walk
- 1:24:07back by the nursery and notice the exact same thing had
- 1:24:11occurred again. All of her son's stuffed toys
- 1:24:14were arranged in a circle and all facing outward yet again on
- 1:24:19the floor. Now, unsure of what was causing
- 1:24:23these strange happenings, they checked all their windows and
- 1:24:26doors. They were all locked.
- 1:24:29If it was Tony's brother Alan, they don't know how he would
- 1:24:33have been getting in and out without any of them noticing.
- 1:24:36And within a matter of minutes the following morning, Tony had
- 1:24:41his brother come over to their house.
- 1:24:43It's important to note that Alan did live next door to the
- 1:24:46pigments at this time. Once they had all gotten settled
- 1:24:50on the couches in the living room, Tony began to ask.
- 1:24:54So, Alan, just how did you get in and out of our house last
- 1:24:57night without any of us noticing?
- 1:25:00It was in this moment that Tony began to worry.
- 1:25:04Although he and his brother had always played tricks on one
- 1:25:06another, his brother wasn't known to be a liar.
- 1:25:11Allen looked back at him, genuinely confused.
- 1:25:14He told Tony that he had no idea what he was talking about, that
- 1:25:18he wasn't even home last night. Finding an opportunity for a
- 1:25:22laugh, however, Allen then starts asking Tony if he thinks
- 1:25:26that he has a ghost. He then takes his brother's
- 1:25:29camera and start snapping photos around the house while asking is
- 1:25:33there a presence here with us? And if so, make the stuffed
- 1:25:38animals move again. Do something.
- 1:25:42As Tony and Deborah follow Allen, the three are then left
- 1:25:45in utter shock as a stuffed bear sitting on a nearby small chair
- 1:25:50is suddenly thrown onto the floor by something they can't
- 1:25:54see. Taking what they had just seen
- 1:25:57as some kind of a warning, Tony, Deborah and Allen take baby
- 1:26:02Taylor and rush outside into the family's vehicle as the baby
- 1:26:07cries. As Tony buckles them into the
- 1:26:09car seat, Tony cries as well, but out of pain.
- 1:26:13He suddenly feels a sharp stinging sensation coming from
- 1:26:17his back. Thinking it was a bee sting or a
- 1:26:20spider bite, he finishes buckling the baby in and then.
- 1:26:24Closes the door. He figures he'll check it out
- 1:26:27later. Allen then heads back to his
- 1:26:29house next door and Debbie and Tony with their baby drive
- 1:26:34across town to Tony's parents house.
- 1:26:37After arriving, the stinging sensation on Tony's back has
- 1:26:41only grown more noticeable. Again.
- 1:26:44Thinking it was a bee sting or a spider bite, he finally has his
- 1:26:48wife take a look at it. Upon lifting up his shirt she
- 1:26:53starts to freak out. From Tony's lower back to up by
- 1:26:57his shoulder blades are what appear to be 3 very distinct and
- 1:27:02fresh claw marks. Her anxiety is soon felt by
- 1:27:06everyone in the house. After discussing what had been
- 1:27:10occurring amongst themselves, the Pikmins now think that what
- 1:27:14they could be experiencing may be evil.
- 1:27:18Coming to this conclusion leaves their heads spiraling, making
- 1:27:22them ponder a number of questions.
- 1:27:25Just what will they do? Will they go back to the house?
- 1:27:29Where could they go if they don't, and much more.
- 1:27:34Together, Debbie and Tony do their best to calm down and to
- 1:27:38face the decision that they have to make head on as a couple.
- 1:27:42In Tony's words, we were newly married, we had just started a
- 1:27:47family. We didn't have the money or the
- 1:27:49resources to be able to afford to move again.
- 1:27:53We were essentially bled out. We had a baby and we needed a
- 1:27:57place to stay. So we decided to go back that
- 1:28:01night. Although incredibly apprehensive
- 1:28:04about doing so, the Pikmins seemingly have no other choice.
- 1:28:09The following day, Tony meets up with his brother Alan yet again.
- 1:28:13Alan seems to have an idea on how to tackle the situation.
- 1:28:17Alan tells Debbie and Tony that his boss's sister is a psychic
- 1:28:21medium and he thinks that they should invite her to try and
- 1:28:24figure out what could be residing within the house and if
- 1:28:27she's able to decipher that. Finding this proposal weird
- 1:28:31because they've never delved into anything like this before,
- 1:28:35but feeling like it couldn't hurt to give it a try, they
- 1:28:38agree to have Alan reach out and ask her to come to the house.
- 1:28:42Three days later she would arrive.
- 1:28:45Her name was Barbara. Originally based out of
- 1:28:48California, she actively engaged in psychic work and lectured at
- 1:28:52various universities about parapsychology.
- 1:28:56Not having been given any information about the house or
- 1:28:59its history, she sat in the living room and explained to the
- 1:29:02Pikmans what it was that she did and then asked them.
- 1:29:06To tell her. Everything that had occurred up
- 1:29:08until that point so that she could fully grasp the whole
- 1:29:11picture. After they went through it all
- 1:29:14with Barbara, she then asked them to visit the nursery to
- 1:29:17begin. Tony would later say that I
- 1:29:20don't really believe in psychics, so I kind of blew her
- 1:29:24off at first, I didn't know what to think.
- 1:29:27Barbara begins her process and quickly begins to lose her
- 1:29:31breath. She starts choking and coughing.
- 1:29:34She then flees the room, heading for the basement below.
- 1:29:38Tony later would say that she told us that whatever was here
- 1:29:42didn't want us here and that it doesn't like anyone in this room
- 1:29:46referring to the nursery. As the pigments follow Barbara
- 1:29:50down the stairs, she soon stops at the bottom of them begins to
- 1:29:55sense another spirit, but this one doesn't seem ominous.
- 1:30:00She discovers that the spirit is that of a 7 year old little girl
- 1:30:03named Sally. She believes Sally passed away
- 1:30:06within the home itself. She also would come to the
- 1:30:09conclusion that it was Sally who had attacked Tony, believing
- 1:30:14that baby Taylor was hers to protect.
- 1:30:17She had become territorial between Deborah and Barbara.
- 1:30:21They come to the consensus that Sally is a guardian of sorts,
- 1:30:25that it would be a good idea to set aside a space for her and to
- 1:30:29give her some toys of her own to appease her.
- 1:30:33Tony, however, thought that this wasn't a good idea at all.
- 1:30:36He still believed that whatever dwelled within their house was
- 1:30:40malevolent and evil, that it was a bad idea for them to interact
- 1:30:45with whatever this thing was in any way, shape or form.
- 1:30:49However, disregarding her husband, Deborah does exactly
- 1:30:53this. After the psychic departs
- 1:30:57several days later, Deborah would go shopping for toys for
- 1:31:01Sally, hoping that her offerings would appease the spirit and all
- 1:31:06would be well. She also picks up the developed
- 1:31:09film from the photos that Tony took during the psychics visit.
- 1:31:14Excited to see if any of them contained an image of Sally, she
- 1:31:18quickly opens up the envelope to look at them what she sees.
- 1:31:22However, disturbs her. Several of the photos are
- 1:31:27bizarrely distorted. And one even contains some kind
- 1:31:31of malignant looking black BLOB. Horrified, Deborah rushes back
- 1:31:37home with the photos and the toys in hand.
- 1:31:41Walking through the front door, she immediately shows Tony
- 1:31:45having been the one who took the photos.
- 1:31:48He doesn't know what to make of the anomalies.
- 1:31:51One photo in particular catches his attention in his own words.
- 1:31:57The picture that really got me as we were walking down the
- 1:32:00stairs with Barbara, I turned around and took a picture and
- 1:32:05floating mid air is this thing. I couldn't explain it, it made
- 1:32:11me scared. Following looking at the photos,
- 1:32:15Deb once again references Barbara's convictions and
- 1:32:18continues to believe that Sally is a protector.
- 1:32:21She then continues with her plan and makes a dedicated space for
- 1:32:26Sally and adds the toys to it. Although Tony believes that the
- 1:32:30force haunting their home is evil, things do seem to go
- 1:32:34dormant for a short period of time following the offerings to
- 1:32:38Sally. However, this piece would not
- 1:32:41last. Several weeks later, Deb's
- 1:32:45sister Karen would return again for a follow up visit, and this
- 1:32:49time along with her husband. As the couples catch up on
- 1:32:52what's been happening in their lives, Deborah and Tony walk
- 1:32:56into the kitchen and grab themselves and their guests some
- 1:32:59more food and drinks. Their nice evening is soon
- 1:33:03interrupted by a piercing scream.
- 1:33:07There, before Karen and her husband, a stuffed animal, the
- 1:33:11same one that had fallen before, that was sitting in one of the
- 1:33:15chairs, had suddenly and spontaneously caught fire before
- 1:33:20their very eyes. As Tony and Deborah rushed back
- 1:33:24into the living room, they too were left.
- 1:33:26Flabbergasted at the site. Tony then rushes in with a towel
- 1:33:31to extinguish the fire. In his own words, if it can do
- 1:33:36this, what's keeping it from setting one of us on fire or
- 1:33:40hurting us or harming the baby? Following the flames of the
- 1:33:45previous evening, Deborah tries to convince her husband that the
- 1:33:49fire was an isolated incident. For the next two weeks, things
- 1:33:54at the house remain eerily calm. Tony, who works the overnight
- 1:33:59graveyard shift at a nearby grain elevator.
- 1:34:02Adjusts his day to his schedule. Upon returning home from work in
- 1:34:07the early morning hours, he tends to eat a meal when he gets
- 1:34:11home. One particular morning,
- 1:34:14following the calmness within the home, he grabs himself a
- 1:34:18glass of juice and something to eat.
- 1:34:21As he goes to place the pitcher of juice back in the
- 1:34:23refrigerator, he sees something move out of the corner of his
- 1:34:27eye. Turning his head, pitcher's
- 1:34:30still in hand, he sees the apparition of a young girl
- 1:34:34before him. Shocked, he drops the pitcher of
- 1:34:38juice and it shatters on the floor almost as soon as the
- 1:34:42pitcher had broke. As it smashed into the floor
- 1:34:46below, the apparition vanished. Paying no mind to it, Tony
- 1:34:52quickly runs upstairs where he greets his wife in their
- 1:34:54bedroom. Barely able to get a word out,
- 1:34:57he's finally able to say to her. I just saw Sally.
- 1:35:02Intrigued, Deborah immediately asked just what she looked like
- 1:35:07and then proceeds to bombard him with many more questions.
- 1:35:11Rather than being scared, Deb is elated.
- 1:35:14She's more curious than ever before, in her own words.
- 1:35:20I was terribly jealous Tony got to see this little girl or the
- 1:35:25apparition of her. She's curious just why of all
- 1:35:28people, Sally would reveal herself to Tony.
- 1:35:32She wonders why she didn't reveal herself to her.
- 1:35:35For the next two months, things once again go dormant within the
- 1:35:39home. But this too wouldn't last.
- 1:35:42One night, as the moon hangs high above the Pikmin residence
- 1:35:47as the couple sleeps, Tony is suddenly and violently pulled
- 1:35:52forward and then up and out of his bed by his arms, absolutely
- 1:35:57petrified. Tony screams as he realizes just
- 1:36:00what has taken place. He then is further bewildered as
- 1:36:05he looks down at his wrists. There on both of them were five
- 1:36:10distinct finger markings, as if someone or something had grabbed
- 1:36:15him. But the outline themselves
- 1:36:17weren't just there, these outlines looked like they were
- 1:36:20burns, as if the fingers themselves had been seared into
- 1:36:25his flesh. Blisters were now starting to
- 1:36:28form where each invisible hand had been.
- 1:36:31As he tries to come to terms with his terrifying ordeal, Deb
- 1:36:35still refuses to believe that it has anything to do with Sally.
- 1:36:39She thinks that his lack of sleep from being a new father
- 1:36:42and working the overnight shift started to get to him.
- 1:36:46However, upon seeing the blisters, she's almost in a
- 1:36:50sense of denial, saying that surely the spirit of a 7 year
- 1:36:54old girl would not be able to pull a grown man out of a bed or
- 1:36:58leave such marks. But if she somehow did, what was
- 1:37:02the message that she was trying to convey?
- 1:37:06Given everything that had taken place?
- 1:37:08A resentment began to build within Tony towards his wife.
- 1:37:12Accompanying this, he began to hear whispers on almost a daily
- 1:37:16basis. This would typically occur when
- 1:37:19he would lay down during the day to try and sleep so he could get
- 1:37:23back up and work at the grain elevator.
- 1:37:27To him, the whispers did not sound like that of a child at
- 1:37:30all, but rather like 3 low voiced people speaking to one
- 1:37:35another. They would also seem so close as
- 1:37:38if they were talking simultaneously directly into his
- 1:37:42ears. During one particularly scary
- 1:37:45experience involving the whispering, Tony also begins to
- 1:37:49see items near the bed float and rotate by themselves as if
- 1:37:54suspended by an invisible force. As he screams, wanting all of it
- 1:37:59to stop, he is greeted by his wife after explaining what he
- 1:38:04had just experienced. Unfortunately, she doesn't
- 1:38:09believe him given what he had been saying, that he had been
- 1:38:13seeing shadowy figures, hearing whispers, having nightmares as
- 1:38:18she perceived them. She thought that lack of sleep
- 1:38:21and stress was causing him to make things up.
- 1:38:25Tony is starting to believe that whatever force that haunts the
- 1:38:28house is targeting him, that it's attempting to manipulate
- 1:38:32his feelings. Coming to terms with this, he
- 1:38:35also realizes just how hard it's becoming to hide his growing
- 1:38:40resentment towards Deborah. He keeps having feelings of a
- 1:38:43dark rage well up inside him, feelings that he's worried could
- 1:38:48turn violent. In his own words.
- 1:38:52These feelings were not like me. I love her so much and I would
- 1:38:56never do anything to hurt her. But the longer we were there,
- 1:39:01the stronger these feelings were becoming.
- 1:39:04Tony, of course, wasn't the only one to notice these changes.
- 1:39:08Deborah noticed them too. There had been a large shift in
- 1:39:12his demeanor and attitude. He seemed angry, short fused,
- 1:39:18and argumentative. The couple began to fight almost
- 1:39:21daily, which hadn't been like them at all in the past.
- 1:39:26The Pikmans decide that they want to reach back out to
- 1:39:28Barbara for another consultation to see if they could potentially
- 1:39:32gain any new information on the presence that seemed to be
- 1:39:36everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
- 1:39:41In due time, Barbara again would visit them and upon her arrival
- 1:39:46would be told just how things had developed.
- 1:39:49She attempts to contact Sally once again after she believes
- 1:39:54she's made contact. With her.
- 1:39:56She then begins to sense a second entity.
- 1:39:59This one, however, is much older and seems to refuse to interact
- 1:40:04with her. She believes that this adult
- 1:40:06entity is a female. And the one that has been
- 1:40:09targeting Tony and that Sally has been taking the blame.
- 1:40:15However, she comes to the conviction that whatever is
- 1:40:18happening within the home is beyond her expertise.
- 1:40:22What she does offer though, is that she would contact a very
- 1:40:26qualified group of paranormal investigators.
- 1:40:29Tony's reaction at first is. Harsh.
- 1:40:32And in his own words once again. At first I was like, no way.
- 1:40:37We live in a small town. We'd be the laughingstock.
- 1:40:41If it wasn't a spirit in the house, then the only other thing
- 1:40:44that I could think it could be was the devil, and that scared
- 1:40:48me to death. After discussing the matter
- 1:40:51further with his wife and Barbara, he finally agrees to
- 1:40:55give the Group A try. Within days, the paranormal
- 1:41:00group would arrive. The group is led by, at that
- 1:41:03time, world renowned medium and paranormal researcher Peter
- 1:41:08James. In his words, a ghost is the
- 1:41:12ethereal double of its physical counterpart.
- 1:41:15We become a ghost depending on the circumstances in which we
- 1:41:19die. If we die untimely, tragically
- 1:41:23or violently, then we are rendered a ghost.
- 1:41:27I prefer not knowing any details about any specific haunting in
- 1:41:31which I investigate. It's my job to identify what's
- 1:41:34causing the activity, not being informed of the information
- 1:41:39previously, only that the family was young and had a young boy.
- 1:41:44As he sits in the living room and speaks with the Pikmans, he
- 1:41:48asked them if they had a young daughter as well, perhaps of
- 1:41:51seven or eight years old, telling him no.
- 1:41:56Peter remarked that it was strange because when he arrived,
- 1:42:00he saw such a young girl staring at them from one of the upstairs
- 1:42:04windows. Starting to explore the home,
- 1:42:08Peter begins to sense that there are two entities, one that is a
- 1:42:13child and the other an older adult woman who is very
- 1:42:17powerful. Upon asking the name of the
- 1:42:21entities out loud, he would reply with Sally.
- 1:42:26It's good to meet you. As he embarks up the stairs, he
- 1:42:31makes his way into the Pikmin's master bedroom and starts
- 1:42:34feeling the presence of the older female.
- 1:42:37As he steps further into the room with his crew and the
- 1:42:41Pikmin's behind him, Peter is suddenly thrown back against the
- 1:42:45door and almost simultaneously, Tony begins to scream in pain.
- 1:42:51My. Back, he says.
- 1:42:53Debbie lifts up his shirt and sees that once again his back is
- 1:42:58covered in fresh scratches, deep ones to the point to where they
- 1:43:02drew blood. Peter is astonished.
- 1:43:06He now knows that his older woman's presence is not a +1.
- 1:43:11Telling everyone not to let the entity know that they are afraid
- 1:43:15of it, they reluctantly press on.
- 1:43:18The crew spends the rest of the day investigating the home, and
- 1:43:22during this time, Peter once again begins walking back
- 1:43:25upstairs as if something or someone was calling out to him,
- 1:43:30and it's here that he begins to have a vision.
- 1:43:35In his vision, he's taken back into the past and he begins to
- 1:43:39see the spirits as they were in life.
- 1:43:43He believed that the home was once the home and practice of a
- 1:43:46medical physician. His housekeeper and her daughter
- 1:43:50lived there with him as well. The housekeeper was also his
- 1:43:55mistress and the daughter was also his.
- 1:43:59The housekeeper was African American and their daughter half
- 1:44:03and in such racially divided times, the affair and their
- 1:44:08secret child were kept hidden. Sally was her name and she was
- 1:44:14their seven-year old daughter. Peter believed that Sally had
- 1:44:18contracted pneumonia and her father, although a doctor, was
- 1:44:23unable to save her. Although the secret family and
- 1:44:27Sally's death are tragic, Peter tells the Pikmins that it's not
- 1:44:31fair for them to be victimized by the dead in their own home.
- 1:44:35That in order to rid themselves of this torment, that they must
- 1:44:39cleanse the house. That they were in control, but
- 1:44:43it was ultimately up to them to restore order.
- 1:44:46And with these words of advice, he and his crew would depart.
- 1:44:52The Pikmans decide that they will stay in the house and will
- 1:44:55do their best to set the rules and stand their ground.
- 1:45:00Several weeks pass and despite their best efforts, the
- 1:45:04atmosphere has only grown heavier, the torment even worse.
- 1:45:09Especially for Tony, his sleep has become even more scarce and
- 1:45:15his thoughts grow more and more evil.
- 1:45:18He can't shake the angry feelings.
- 1:45:21It's becoming more worried that he may end up harming his wife
- 1:45:25and or himself, that he feels as if this darkness is slowly
- 1:45:31consuming him. He finally confronts Deborah and
- 1:45:35explains exactly how he feels, that he believes that if they
- 1:45:39don't leave the house that something horrible may end up
- 1:45:42happening. Finally understanding the
- 1:45:45pressure her husband was under, she agrees with him and begins
- 1:45:50looking at ads for a new home for the family.
- 1:45:53In the meantime, Tony attempts to sleep due to work in the
- 1:45:57graveyard shift. As he lays in bed, tossing and
- 1:46:02turning, he's once again consumed by the ever growing and
- 1:46:07almost overwhelming thoughts of wanting to harm his family.
- 1:46:11Feeling as if he was under attack, he rushes out of the
- 1:46:15room and yells for Deborah. He tells her to grab Taylor,
- 1:46:20that they were leaving. That he had.
- 1:46:22Finally reached his breaking point.
- 1:46:25Fortunately for the Pickman family, they find a house
- 1:46:29shortly after leaving what would become known as the Sally House.
- 1:46:35The heaviness, the anger, and the spiritual torment would
- 1:46:40cease. But given what the Pikmans had
- 1:46:43gone through, it's also important to note that the Sally
- 1:46:47House certainly has a dark and checkered history that existed
- 1:46:51long before their arrival. Originally built in 1867 by the
- 1:46:57Finney family, it served as a generational home.
- 1:47:01Several generations of the family lived there between 1867
- 1:47:06and 1939. During that time, 5 confirmed
- 1:47:11deaths occurred within the family.
- 1:47:13Michael Finney in 1872, Charles Catherine's father, the wife of
- 1:47:20Michael Finney, Kate Finney and Richard Finney in 1874, and
- 1:47:27finally Agnes Finney in 1939. There are multiple stories about
- 1:47:33Sally that she passed away from pneumonia.
- 1:47:36The origin. I previously told him this
- 1:47:38story, but there is also another which I will tell you now.
- 1:47:43The story goes that Charles Finney, the son of Michael and
- 1:47:47Kate, became a doctor and made the house both his residence and
- 1:47:52his practice. The front served as an office
- 1:47:55space and an examination room while the family lived upstairs.
- 1:48:01One day a frantic mother arrived carrying her six year old
- 1:48:05daughter. Sally.
- 1:48:06Who had collapsed from severe abdominal pain, the doctor
- 1:48:10quickly diagnosed her with an appendicitis, and new surgery
- 1:48:15was urgent. Without delay, he prepped Sally
- 1:48:19for the operation using ether, the anesthesia that was
- 1:48:22available at that time. Tragically, Sally wasn't fully
- 1:48:27unconscious as the first incision was made.
- 1:48:32She. Screamed and thrashed in pain.
- 1:48:35Despite the doctor's efforts to restrain her and administer more
- 1:48:39anesthesia, Sally's condition worsened.
- 1:48:43She would go into shock and ultimately die on the operating
- 1:48:47table, her final moments filled with agony and fear.
- 1:48:53The home left the Finney family in 1939 and passed through
- 1:48:58various owners before becoming a rental property.
- 1:49:02At least one tenant may have been involved in satanic
- 1:49:05rituals, which some believe contributed to the sinister
- 1:49:08activity associated with the house.
- 1:49:12Paranormal activity wasn't reported until Tony and Deborah
- 1:49:15Pikmin began renting the house. Intrigued by the paranormal
- 1:49:19claims, the property owner, Les Smith, investigated and
- 1:49:24discovered a pentagram beneath the basement floorboards.
- 1:49:28Many believe that this may have been evidence of rituals that
- 1:49:30summoned something demonic. Subsequent investigations
- 1:49:34revealed blood evidence in the master bedroom closet and
- 1:49:38tattered clothing in the attic after the pigments.
- 1:49:41However, reports of electronic malfunctions, Evps, physical
- 1:49:47attacks, and other poltergeist activity have further cemented
- 1:49:52the house's reputation as a hotspot for paranormal
- 1:49:56occurrences. I've visited the Sally House
- 1:49:59myself. It was actually my very first
- 1:50:01paranormal investigation, albeit amateur at best at that time.
- 1:50:06It certainly was an excellent experience getting into the
- 1:50:09field, although for a variety of reasons, I don't think the Sally
- 1:50:13House is as haunted as it once was.
- 1:50:16However, we did experience a few strange things when I went with
- 1:50:21a few friends of mine. We arrived in the summer of 2022
- 1:50:25and it was easily close to 100°F outside, and the home, being
- 1:50:30very old, didn't have great AC as we would later learn.
- 1:50:35However, when we stepped inside for the first time, we were
- 1:50:39taken aback because it was absolutely frigid by comparison.
- 1:50:44This blast of cold air only lasted several seconds.
- 1:50:48The temperature did not fluctuate like it had then for
- 1:50:52the rest of the night. I also remember personally
- 1:50:55checking the thermostat and it was set at like 85 or something
- 1:51:00crazy so the actual air conditioning wasn't even on
- 1:51:03until we turned it on. So I found that weird to say the
- 1:51:06least. The record player and TV turned
- 1:51:09on by themselves multiple times throughout the night, which of
- 1:51:14course we found odd. The old record player didn't
- 1:51:17have any sort of a timer whatsoever, and given the age of
- 1:51:20the CRTV as well, it didn't appear to have a timer that we
- 1:51:24could find. That would have caused.
- 1:51:26This besides some strange feelings throughout the day and
- 1:51:30then into the night, we didn't get a ton of interaction through
- 1:51:34the kitchen. Although it was blocked off, we
- 1:51:36decided to look past it and go down the stairs and witness the
- 1:51:39pentagram, which for one reason or another had been burned out
- 1:51:43on the floor in the basement. And I do have to say that the
- 1:51:46basement itself was extremely creepy.
- 1:51:49You could feel some very bad vibes originating from there.
- 1:51:53So I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of black magic ritual
- 1:51:56or rituals were potentially done down there.
- 1:52:00I almost forgot, but as I was reviewing the original footage,
- 1:52:04I did find that we did capture an EVP and I'll go ahead and
- 1:52:08play that for you now. With black mold in the walls of
- 1:52:32this very old home, we decided not to stay overnight because
- 1:52:37you weren't supposed to sleep there anyways.
- 1:52:40Having taken plenty of video and photo evidence, we began to
- 1:52:44place things we had taken from Sally's room back and when my
- 1:52:48friend, whose name is also Cody but with AC, placed one of those
- 1:52:52Magic 8 ball toys back on the bed, a touch activated toy
- 1:52:56decided to go off on its own. In this particular 1, you had to
- 1:53:00tap its head fairly hard to get it to go off.
- 1:53:03I remember all of us being freaked out by it.
- 1:53:06I remember it was extremely foggy that night, which added to
- 1:53:09the mystique, especially of my first paranormal adventure for
- 1:53:13sure. Or one that didn't occur of
- 1:53:16course, in in a home that I lived in.
- 1:53:19We took one last look at the Sally house before departing.
- 1:53:22Into our shock, all the lights decided to turn on within the
- 1:53:26home. From what we could see, both the
- 1:53:28upstairs and the main floor lights.
- 1:53:31The breaker was the original. So this too seems rather
- 1:53:35impossible to have just occurred on its own without some kind of
- 1:53:38ghostly intervention. Our code only worked for
- 1:53:41entering so we weren't able to get back into the home following
- 1:53:44this, but granted it was 2:00 AM at this point so we decided to
- 1:53:49drive home. We would hit a pothole and one
- 1:53:52of our tires kept going flat on our way home, which definitely
- 1:53:56was not fun all around. I would return, knowing what I
- 1:54:01know now and having much better equipment and resources and far
- 1:54:06more experienced friends by my side.
- 1:54:09I think we would catch a lot more.
- 1:54:12It's my belief that for one reason or another, that the
- 1:54:14Sally Houses may be dormant or not as haunted as it once was,
- 1:54:20and that it's still very possible that a demonic presence
- 1:54:22still slithers within its walls, masquerading itself as the soul.
- 1:54:28Of a little girl named Sally. I took the original documentary
- 1:54:32down due to some copyrighted image issues earlier this year.
- 1:54:36As well as the. Origin story that I had
- 1:54:37originally made, but I think I did a far better job this time.
- 1:54:41Anyways, some of the photos and footage I've shown you while
- 1:54:45explaining my trip there I originally took and filmed
- 1:54:49myself. The Sally House was made famous
- 1:54:52in part by the old show Sightings, who filmed a segment
- 1:54:55for an episode on it, which was picked up by local and then
- 1:54:59later national media. As well as Deborah.
- 1:55:02Pikman would go on to write a book which I found to be a great
- 1:55:05read called The Sally House Haunting, which you can.
- 1:55:09Find on Amazon and I'll link it below.
- 1:55:13Today we cover a legend, one that whispers of a truly dark
- 1:55:17and strange place. The story surrounds a group of
- 1:55:22friends who venture into an abandoned and supposedly haunted
- 1:55:26town hidden within the misty mountains of Spain, and it's
- 1:55:31here that they collectively experience something that would
- 1:55:36make even the bravest of us shudder and would chill every
- 1:55:40single one of them to their core.
- 1:55:44Will they make it out alive or will the mist claim them?

- 1:56:18we explore the unexplained paranormal tales of this world
- 1:56:23and possibly the next. Now let's get to today's story.
- 1:56:29It was the afternoon of October 16th, 1991.
- 1:56:35A 36 year old man by the name of Enrique Martinez knelt by a Moss
- 1:56:40covered log. He had been admiring a lovely
- 1:56:44looking mushroom forging for fungi.
- 1:56:48He placed it gently into his Wicker basket, adding it to the
- 1:56:52others that he had gathered. As he stood, he took in the view
- 1:56:58of the verdant valley below, untouched and silent, beautiful
- 1:57:05yet eerie at the same time. Enrique was mushroom hunting
- 1:57:10with his wife, Anna, and two of their friends, a couple by the
- 1:57:15name of Jorge and Sophia. They were exploring near an
- 1:57:19ancient abandoned town known as La Masura, perched high in the
- 1:57:25northwestern mountains of Spain. It was Jorge who had suggested
- 1:57:30coming here, lured by legends of hauntings and sinister folklore.
- 1:57:36Enrique, however, cared little for ghost stories.
- 1:57:41If anything, he was here for the mushrooms and the peace and
- 1:57:45quiet. Enrique worked as a bartender in
- 1:57:48the bustling port city of Tarragonia, where every night he
- 1:57:53was surrounded by crowds. Loud noises and voices coupled
- 1:57:59with the clanking of bottles and glasses was his norm.
- 1:58:03The peace and solitude of the mountains were a bomb for his
- 1:58:07chaotic life, a chance to immerse himself in the quiet
- 1:58:11pursuit of mushroom hunting, a hobby he truly enjoyed.
- 1:58:16His mind focused on finding a prized local mushroom known as
- 1:58:21the Bloody Milk. Cap didn't dwell on La Messura's
- 1:58:25dark history, albeit it may seem ironic given the name.
- 1:58:30But as they reached the town's outskirts, he felt a shift in
- 1:58:34energy. A prickling on ease crept over
- 1:58:38him, and he became unnerved, to say the least.
- 1:58:43La Masura was over 900 years old, its crumbling remnants
- 1:58:48littering the mountainside with many runes older than its memory
- 1:58:53itself. The town had once been home to
- 1:58:56around 300 residents, yet now had been deserted for decades,
- 1:59:03the last souls fleeing some 40 years prior.
- 1:59:08As they approached the town, the friends paused by a rune on the
- 1:59:11town's edge and suddenly, out of nowhere, the air thickened
- 1:59:17around them and an ever growing mist gathered at their feet.
- 1:59:24This mist or fog, and slowly creeped up the abandoned dirt
- 1:59:29Rd. that led through La Messiera's heart.
- 1:59:34At the road's end was a massive, dilapidated church, its presence
- 1:59:40casting a shadow over the overgrown cemetery behind it, as
- 1:59:45well as the murky pond brimming with frogs.
- 1:59:49The eerie silence was only occasionally broken by the
- 1:59:53distant croaks echoing through the mist.
- 1:59:57Jorge led the way, a mischievous smile on his face as he grasped
- 2:00:02Sophia's hand, pulling her toward the church.
- 2:00:07Enrique and Anna followed, but something made Enrique glance
- 2:00:11back. The mist had swallowed the rune
- 2:00:14behind them entirely, as if they had crossed an unseen threshold.
- 2:00:20With this, an inexplicable chill ran through him, and the air
- 2:00:25suddenly became heavy and thick. The mist, Jorge had said, was La
- 2:00:32Messura's infamous shroud, a fog that enveloped the town night
- 2:00:37after night. But here it was smothering them
- 2:00:41in the daylight, which bothered him.
- 2:00:45Yet despite this, he brushed it off and followed his friends,
- 2:00:50though a gnawing sense of impending doom clung to him.
- 2:00:54They stopped beside a peculiar rectangular stone jutting from
- 2:00:58the ground. Jorge placed a hand on its
- 2:01:01surface, his voice low and eager.
- 2:01:06This is the sixth stone, he said.
- 2:01:09It's one of the oldest relics here.
- 2:01:12They say it has dark powers. His voice took on a hushed,
- 2:01:17reverent tone. La Misura, he explained, was
- 2:01:22once a weigh station for ancient armies.
- 2:01:26They believed that the Six Stone held a magic of sorts that was
- 2:01:30capable of winning battles, but only for a price.
- 2:01:36Legend claimed that those who touched it risked being pulled
- 2:01:39into a twisted, parallel world, a darkened hellscape that was
- 2:01:45teeming with demonic entities. As Jorge relayed this, he kept
- 2:01:52his hand on the stone, grinning as he dared someone else to
- 2:01:56touch it. Sofia, uneasy, shook her head,
- 2:02:03but Anna, laughing, stepped forward and placed her hand on
- 2:02:07the stone. They held their breath,
- 2:02:11expecting something dreadful to happen, but nothing did.
- 2:02:16Just then, the frogs by the church erupted in a concophony,
- 2:02:22their croaks deafening. Enrique turned toward the sound,
- 2:02:27peering through the fog at the shadowy outline of the church.
- 2:02:32For a moment, he caught a glimpse of a dark figure
- 2:02:36standing in one of the windows, motionless and watching.
- 2:02:42The image burned into his mind, but yet in a blink it vanished.
- 2:02:49Was this figure real, or just a trick of the fog, perhaps, His
- 2:02:54imagination running wild, Before he could speak, Anna called to
- 2:02:59him, laughing. Come on, Enrique, your turn.
- 2:03:05Her voice jolted him from his thoughts.
- 2:03:09Pacing himself yet feeling some kind of pull towards the object,
- 2:03:14he reached for the 6th stone. The second his fingers touched
- 2:03:19it, a wave of unnatural cold washed over him, yet the stone
- 2:03:25burned beneath his skin. Time seemed to slow, as if
- 2:03:30something sinister seeped into his mind, something that urged
- 2:03:34him to keep touching it, to never let it go.
- 2:03:39In the depths of his mind, a small voice clinging to reason
- 2:03:44whispered frantically for him to let go.
- 2:03:47With great effort, he released the stone, his skin tingling as
- 2:03:54he backed away. His friends were grinning, but
- 2:03:58Sophia was pale. Let's leave the stone alone, she
- 2:04:01said with her voice trembling. We are tempting things that we
- 2:04:06don't understand. Jorge chuckled, trying to brush
- 2:04:10off her concern, and then LED them further into La Misera.
- 2:04:16As the group ventured deeper, the fog grew denser, smothering
- 2:04:21the world around them as though drawing them into its depths.
- 2:04:27Enrique couldn't shake the lingering dread, the feeling of
- 2:04:31someone or something watching them.
- 2:04:35He slowly trailed behind, casting wary glances at the
- 2:04:39church as they passed by the pond.
- 2:04:43The frog's croaking reached an almost unbearable volume,
- 2:04:47pulsing like a heartbeat. With this, Enrique's gaze
- 2:04:53drifted involuntarily toward the window where he had originally
- 2:04:57seen the dark figure. It was empty now, but he noticed
- 2:05:03something peculiar. He felt a pole, something
- 2:05:07coaxing him closer, daring him to peer inside.
- 2:05:13Despite his soul screaming, he obeyed, stepping toward the
- 2:05:18church, unable to resist the compulsion.
- 2:05:23With each step, his breath grew more shallow as he leaned closer
- 2:05:29and closer to the broken window, peering into the darkness
- 2:05:34within. Inside, shadows pooled in every
- 2:05:39corner, shrouding the remnants of pews, the pulpit, the frogs.
- 2:05:45Croaks continued to swell, reaching an overwhelming
- 2:05:49crescendo as his gaze locked onto the inky black void just
- 2:05:54beyond the altar. It felt as if the darkness
- 2:05:58itself was alive, twitching and writhing, beckoning him closer.
- 2:06:06Suddenly, a hand gripped his shoulder, jerking him back to
- 2:06:10reality. Anna was beside him, her face
- 2:06:14puzzled. Come on, she said, leading him
- 2:06:18toward the cemetery. They joined Jorge and Sophia
- 2:06:22amongst the graves, each stone worn and nameless.
- 2:06:28Trying to shake off the lingering terror, Enrique turned
- 2:06:32his focus to the headstones. Anna backed into an old cross,
- 2:06:38toppling it to the ground with a sickening crack.
- 2:06:42With the fog ever thickening around them, Enrique swore he
- 2:06:46heard whispers in the mist. They seemed faint and pleading.
- 2:06:53He glanced back at the church, still feeling that dark presence
- 2:06:58there, lurking, watching and waiting.
- 2:07:03Something in La Masira did not want them to leave.
- 2:07:07Jorge and Sophia turned toward Anna as they heard the snap of
- 2:07:11the stone breaking in two. Realizing what had happened,
- 2:07:16Jorge burst out laughing, teasing her by saying, Oh boy,
- 2:07:22now you've upset the evil spirits here, you better put
- 2:07:25that back together. Anna tried to laugh along, but
- 2:07:30panic crept in as she attempted to reassemble the gravestone she
- 2:07:34had accidentally broken, but the stone was beyond repair.
- 2:07:40Jorge continued to chuckle, while Sophia, standing close
- 2:07:44beside him, grew uneasy. Jorge, is this place truly
- 2:07:49haunted? She asked.
- 2:07:51Like, actually haunted? Her voice hushed with worry.
- 2:07:57Jorge paused, his laughter fading.
- 2:08:00Yeah, I think it really is. And with that, he launched into
- 2:08:05the legend that haunted La Misura in October of 1873,
- 2:08:11during a fierce civil war in the region of Spain, rival armies
- 2:08:16used the nearby mountainside caves as makeshift field
- 2:08:20hospitals. One night, a reverend general
- 2:08:25named Serkos, mortally wounded in battle, was brought into one
- 2:08:30of these caves. There, surrounded by his closest
- 2:08:34men, he passed away. His death was kept secret,
- 2:08:41revealing the loss of their beloved leader would crush the
- 2:08:44morale of his troops and give the enemy an easy victory.
- 2:08:49At dawn, Cerso's six loyal men carried him silently up to the
- 2:08:54cemetery in La Misura and buried him in a shallow grave.
- 2:09:01Knowing a villager was to be interred in that spot soon, they
- 2:09:05laid him under a thin layer of dirt to be hidden by another
- 2:09:09coffin and marked only by a simple unnamed headstone with a
- 2:09:16single horizontal line. Weeks later, 5 enemy soldiers
- 2:09:22scaled the mountain, unaware of Cirso's death.
- 2:09:26Convinced he was hiding in La Misura, they forced their way
- 2:09:30into homes, demanding the villagers reveal his location.
- 2:09:36The poor townspeople were terrified.
- 2:09:39Finally, a weary elderly man stepped forward and revealed
- 2:09:44Cirsos was buried behind the church.
- 2:09:48Suspicious, the soldiers forced the townspeople to dig up every
- 2:09:52grave in the cemetery to prove his death.
- 2:09:57Amid the chaos, the eerie sound of croaking frogs from a nearby
- 2:10:01pond grew louder and louder. Frustrated by the deafening
- 2:10:07noise, the soldiers leader strode to the pond, firing shots
- 2:10:12into the water to silence the frogs.
- 2:10:16But their croaking only intensified.
- 2:10:20The soldiers finally realized that the only grave left
- 2:10:23undisturbed was marked by the simple line.
- 2:10:28The villagers warned them that this grave belonged to a feared
- 2:10:31witch, but the soldiers didn't care.
- 2:10:36They forced the villagers to dig it up, and when they opened the
- 2:10:41coffin, the townspeople gasped in horror.
- 2:10:46The witch looked as if she had just died, her skin unnervingly
- 2:10:51smooth and her eyes wide open, gazing out at them as if an
- 2:10:59warning. Enraged at not finding Sirsos,
- 2:11:03the soldiers dragged the witch's body from her coffin, hung her
- 2:11:08from a tree, and riddled her with bullets until the town fell
- 2:11:13silent once more. But as soon as they stopped
- 2:11:17shooting, they noticed that the frogs, which had filled the air
- 2:11:22with sound, we're now silent too.
- 2:11:26The soldiers, unsettled by the sudden stillness, fled La
- 2:11:31Misera, leaving the villagers to rebury the dead.
- 2:11:36When a townsperson climbed into the desecrated grave, they
- 2:11:40discovered another coffin below the secret resting place of
- 2:11:46General Sirsos. The curse of the Witch was said
- 2:11:50to linger over the town ever since, with death, disease, and
- 2:11:57failed harvest plaguing the town until its last residence finally
- 2:12:02abandoned it in the 1950s. As Jorge finished, Anna's gaze
- 2:12:09dropped to the shattered gravestone in her hands.
- 2:12:13A terrible realization had dawned on her.
- 2:12:17The headstone she had accidentally knocked over bore a
- 2:12:20simple horizontal line. She had inadvertently desecrated
- 2:12:27the witch's grave. Terrified, she then spotted the
- 2:12:33perfect bloody milk cap mushroom at the base of a nearby wall,
- 2:12:39the very type her husband Enrique had been hunting for the
- 2:12:44entire time the group had been out there.
- 2:12:47Trying not to focus on what had just occurred, she plucked it
- 2:12:52and turned to show him, only to find that he was gone.
- 2:12:58Puzzled, she called out to him but received no reply.
- 2:13:03Growing anxious, she turned to Jorge and Sophia, who, when
- 2:13:08asked, shrugged, saying that they hadn't seen him.
- 2:13:14Panicked, Anna sprinted out of the cemetery with Sophia and
- 2:13:18Jorge trailing behind her. In the dense fog, shadows
- 2:13:23shifted and eerie silhouettes loomed, but when they got close,
- 2:13:30they only found empty air. Sophia clung tighter to Jorge,
- 2:13:36fear building as the fog grew thicker and the croaking of
- 2:13:41frogs once again swelled around them.
- 2:13:45Following Anna's cries, Jorge and Sophia finally found her
- 2:13:49crouched in the churchyard, clutching Enrique's Wicker
- 2:13:53basket with tears streaking down her face as she whispered.
- 2:13:59He's gone. The trio spent the next hour
- 2:14:04frantically searching La Misera, the fog becoming blinding as
- 2:14:09darkness fell. When they finally conceded
- 2:14:12defeat, they would make their way back to civilization and
- 2:14:17report the disappearance. Following this, a week long
- 2:14:22search ensued, but despite the authority's best efforts, not a
- 2:14:28trace of Enrique was ever found. Months later, in January of
- 2:14:341992, Anna, still grieving her husband's disappearance, would
- 2:14:41return to Lao Misura along with. Sofia.
- 2:14:44And Jorge determined to search once more.
- 2:14:49As the group passed by the old church window, they would be
- 2:14:53shocked by what they would see. There within the church, they
- 2:14:58saw six dark hooded figures standing in a circle inside,
- 2:15:05motionless and silent. Anna's fear and sorrow seem to
- 2:15:11turn to anger. Mistaking the figures for ghost
- 2:15:15hunters, disrespecting the tragedy of her husband's
- 2:15:19disappearance, she approached the window, ready to scream at
- 2:15:24them. But as she approached, one of
- 2:15:28the robed figures slowly turned to face her.
- 2:15:32And when this occurred, it disturbed the poor woman, the
- 2:15:36very depths of her mourning soul.
- 2:15:40Anna stumbled backward. The figure who would turn
- 2:15:44towards her revealed that it had no face, instead only a
- 2:15:51swirling, inky black void staring into her eyes.
- 2:15:57Before the group could react, the silence would be shattered
- 2:16:01at the sound of galloping hooves erupting from behind them.
- 2:16:07This was then followed by a cacophony of frog croaks that
- 2:16:12grew impossibly loud. Spinning around, they saw only
- 2:16:17morphing fog. Paralyzed with fear, they would
- 2:16:22turn back towards the church, only to realize that the
- 2:16:26sinister robed figures had vanished.
- 2:16:31The three friends could no longer stand being anywhere near
- 2:16:34this horrible place any longer. In terror, they fled, never to
- 2:16:41return. To this day, no one knows what
- 2:16:45became of Enrique or why. Others too have vanished in La
- 2:16:50Misura, a ghost town that is seemingly cursed by a tumultuous
- 2:16:56past. But are these terrifying legends
- 2:16:59true? I originally came across an
- 2:17:03article about La Misura and found the main story which I
- 2:17:07have now researched and retold. This article, originally in
- 2:17:12Spanish, touched upon some very interesting details of the case
- 2:17:17and added a few hypotheticals which I'll discuss with you now.
- 2:17:23One of the beliefs as to what happened to this man was that he
- 2:17:28chose this moment as an opportunity to voluntarily
- 2:17:32disappear for one reason or another.
- 2:17:35I, however, don't personally agree with this theory.
- 2:17:39Disappearing of your own volition without a trace is very
- 2:17:43difficult to do even back in the early 1990s, let alone today.
- 2:17:49But it is still. Possible if someone knew what
- 2:17:51they were doing, but to do so you'd need a good amount of
- 2:17:56money and some kind of infrastructure or plan to do it.
- 2:18:01With this being said, other theories are that he possibly
- 2:18:05got confused and went off the trail and died by accident,
- 2:18:10perhaps by falling. Although this seems like a much
- 2:18:13more plausible potential cause for the man's disappearance, it
- 2:18:18too to me is pretty unlikely to be what happened.
- 2:18:21I say this because there was a week long exhaustive search that
- 2:18:25was carried out both with volunteers and the authorities.
- 2:18:30If Enrique had fallen in past, surely his body would have been
- 2:18:34discovered during this time while the search was taking
- 2:18:38place. When the authorities began to go
- 2:18:41through all possibilities, his wife and friends were questioned
- 2:18:45as to what happened to him but would be ruled out as not having
- 2:18:49anything to do with his disappearance.
- 2:18:53Some other interesting details would be that if he had
- 2:18:56disappeared in any capacity on his own.
- 2:18:59He had left his vehicle, which also.
- 2:19:02Contained his medications and his identifying documents.
- 2:19:07Strangely, apparently, Enrique has not been the only one to
- 2:19:11disappear here. Many others have said to have
- 2:19:14vanished without a trace, yet despite this, oddly, the missing
- 2:19:20tend to be referred to in the plural, but often times no
- 2:19:24specific names are mentioned. What I do know is that in 1995 a
- 2:19:31German engineer decided to visit La Misura and ultimately went
- 2:19:35missing for three hours. He returned upset and
- 2:19:39disoriented, completely unable to explain where he had been and
- 2:19:44just what had happened to him. Various mayors and community
- 2:19:49leaders in nearby towns have said that these stories are
- 2:19:52nothing but fairy tales, but this seems to have been said in
- 2:19:57hopes of quelling fears in order to not disrupt the crucial
- 2:20:01tourism to the area. The issue of missing persons has
- 2:20:06no political ideology, yet these things are usually only briefly
- 2:20:11covered by the mainstream media outlets and local news.
- 2:20:16Occasionally a case may be picked up by a content creator
- 2:20:19on YouTube for wider exposure, but these are few and far
- 2:20:24between. At the end of the day, only
- 2:20:26friends and families of the missing person are truly
- 2:20:29affected. It seems like society as a whole
- 2:20:33may pause for a brief second, but seem to go back to business
- 2:20:37as usual after that second has passed.
- 2:20:41To keep things relevant to this story, in November of 2019 /
- 2:20:4712,000 people were missing in Spain alone.
- 2:20:51Some have turned up over time, but the number who haven't is
- 2:20:55still very high, posing a very real enigma and one that affects
- 2:21:01many lives alongside these fear inducing statistics.
- 2:21:06Just what has happened to these people?
- 2:21:09What happened to Enrique? And is there truly something
- 2:21:13otherworldly, possibly a portal to another dimension located the
- 2:21:19abandoned ghost town known as La Misura?
- 2:21:23These, as with many stories I've covered, are questions that I or
- 2:21:28anyone else may never have the answers to.
- 2:21:32But despite the horror, sorrow and terror, it does go to show
- 2:21:38that there are many things in this world that are truly
- 2:21:41unexplained, and these things may just remain as such.
- 2:21:49Things were so bad that Michael's parents, Jackie and
- 2:21:51Esther, and his sister Martha had to leave the house along
- 2:21:55with Martha's baby daughter Sarah Louise.
- 2:21:58It happened about 100 years ago. It was a baby boy that was
- 2:22:02smothered at birth and she said this baby like was just a
- 2:22:08newborn baby. Can we just get that clear?
- 2:22:12Michael did. Did you see it?
- 2:22:13Yes. You saw it.
- 2:22:15I did see it, yes. Galway, a city on Ireland's West
- 2:22:35Coast, sits where the River Korub meets the Atlantic Ocean.
- 2:22:41The city's hub is an 18th century Ire Square, a popular
- 2:22:46meeting spot surrounded by shops and traditional pubs that offer
- 2:22:51live Irish folk music. But Galway is known for much
- 2:22:55more than just beauty and entertainment.
- 2:22:59Like many places, it harbors dark and mysterious secrets.
- 2:23:05Underneath the bustle of feet walking and music playing, if
- 2:23:10you listen hard enough, you can hear the faint whispers of the
- 2:23:15dead. Our story begins here in 1996
- 2:23:21with the Fahey family. The last 30 years, they've
- 2:23:26called this council house home Living is 1 big happy family
- 2:23:31altogether. There's Jackie Fahey, a bus
- 2:23:35driver for special needs children, his wife Esther, who
- 2:23:41works as a cook at a nearby child care center.
- 2:23:45And they are joined by their daughter Martha, who has
- 2:23:49recently given birth to a baby girl by the name of Sarah
- 2:23:53Louise, and their son Michael with his fiance Anne.
- 2:24:00In the words of Michael Fahey, with the birth of Sarah Louise,
- 2:24:05when she came into the house, we felt as if it was a new
- 2:24:09beginning. Me and Anne were in the process
- 2:24:12of getting married and I had just started my own business.
- 2:24:16It was a very happy time for the family.
- 2:24:20But as the family loves one another and cares for the
- 2:24:24newborn Sarah Louise, something else seemed to be watching them
- 2:24:30lurking within the walls of their home.
- 2:24:35A few months after Sarah Luis is born, their next door neighbors
- 2:24:40begin a series of renovations. The construction and it's noises
- 2:24:46begin to bleed over into their house as well.
- 2:24:50But it seems as though the baby is not the only entity that is
- 2:24:54disturbed several days after the renovations began.
- 2:24:59As Michael walks into the living room, he is hit seemingly out of
- 2:25:03nowhere by a horrendous smell. Describing it as smelling like
- 2:25:09rotten meat or rotting flesh in later interviews.
- 2:25:13But thinking it had to have been a deceased rodent or something
- 2:25:17to do with the pipes, he brings it to the attention of his
- 2:25:21father. Jackie too was taken aback by
- 2:25:25the noxious smell. Although the two do their
- 2:25:28absolute best to discern where the smell is coming from, it
- 2:25:33seems to be everywhere yet is spawning from nowhere.
- 2:25:38Concerned, Jackie contacts the local property authority to have
- 2:25:43their pipes examined for the potential cause.
- 2:25:48The following morning, with a knock at the door, two plumbers
- 2:25:52arrived to hopefully begin to figure out the cause of the
- 2:25:56smells and come up with a solution for the family.
- 2:26:00Walking inside, they asked Jackie and Michael just what
- 2:26:04seems to be the problem, as they explained that the smell seems
- 2:26:09to be everywhere yet nowhere, oftentimes being stronger in
- 2:26:14certain parts of the home versus other times as if it's moving.
- 2:26:19They think it could have something to do with the pipes.
- 2:26:23They tell the men that it smells like rotting flesh or death or
- 2:26:28both. Pinching their noses in disgust,
- 2:26:32they ask the plumbers if they smell it.
- 2:26:36Unfazed, neither men can smell anything.
- 2:26:40This very much confuses the fahes.
- 2:26:43Telling the men that the sin is often stronger upstairs, they
- 2:26:47lead them there and into the restroom.
- 2:26:51Michael and Jackie continue to cringe in discomfort, but the
- 2:26:55plumbers can't seem to smell what they're smelling.
- 2:26:59Confused and becoming angry, considering they've been
- 2:27:02smelling this rot for several days now, they ask the plumbers
- 2:27:07to check everything anyways, since they're already there.
- 2:27:11So the men do just that. They examine the toilets, pipes
- 2:27:17and drains, however everything is fine and in working order.
- 2:27:23Never once did they smell what the Fahey's had described.
- 2:27:28Finding this incredibly odd and realizing that if they were the
- 2:27:32only ones smelling whatever this was, the two plumbers must have
- 2:27:36thought that they were crazy. They were now more concerned
- 2:27:41because if the smell wasn't coming from any place checked by
- 2:27:44the plumbers, then just where was it coming from and just what
- 2:27:49was it? The smell, however, is not just
- 2:27:53experienced by Jackie and Michael.
- 2:27:57Over the next several days, it is experienced on varying levels
- 2:28:02by all members of the family. Feeling as if they were losing
- 2:28:06their minds, they begin to clean most hours of the day when they
- 2:28:11are home, disinfect the sinks and drains regularly.
- 2:28:16Alongside this, they open the windows for the fresh air.
- 2:28:21And yet, whether they're open or not, whether they are cleaning
- 2:28:25or not, the smell only continues to get worse.
- 2:28:30It starts to affect the family, causing them to feel sick,
- 2:28:35nauseous and dizzy at varying times, suffering with the smell
- 2:28:41for almost a month. One day it mysteriously
- 2:28:46vanishes, but something else equally bizarre would take its
- 2:28:51place. One night, as the moon hangs
- 2:28:55high and large over the Fahey residence and the wind rustles
- 2:29:00the trees outside in the darkness, Michael and his fiance
- 2:29:05Anne are woken up by the sounds of a baby crying.
- 2:29:10This normally wouldn't be a problem, but the crying is
- 2:29:13persistent and continuing to grow louder with each passing
- 2:29:18minute. Concerned as to why Martha
- 2:29:21wasn't taking care of her baby and irritated as most would be
- 2:29:26given the hour, Michael decides to get up and check on just what
- 2:29:30was going on. Walking down the hall, the cries
- 2:29:35of the infants seem to grow louder with each step he takes,
- 2:29:39finally reaching a fever pitch when he reaches the room that
- 2:29:43Sarah Louise was in. Opening the door to check on
- 2:29:48her, he sees Sarah fully awake and looking around the room in
- 2:29:52her crib. But she has a Binky in her mouth
- 2:29:56and the cries, which he had believed were coming from his
- 2:30:00niece, were still echoing all throughout and hadn't eased in
- 2:30:06volume or intensity. Even stranger, his sister Martha
- 2:30:11was sleeping as if there was nothing out of the ordinary.
- 2:30:16The cries continued despite Sarah Louise not making them.
- 2:30:21Thoroughly freaked out but unsure of how to tackle the
- 2:30:24situation, Michael slowly makes his way back to his bedroom
- 2:30:29where Anne asked him just why he didn't get Martha to take care
- 2:30:32of her baby. He responds with I did, I
- 2:30:37checked on her and it's not Sarah Louise who's crying and
- 2:30:42Martha is asleep. As they both look at each other
- 2:30:46confused and concerned, Michael suddenly begins to choke.
- 2:30:51He tries to scream and grabs at his throat, but nothing but
- 2:30:57struggle. Gasps of air come out.
- 2:31:00In later interviews he would say it felt as if someone was
- 2:31:04choking me and sitting on my chest.
- 2:31:08I couldn't speak, I couldn't breathe.
- 2:31:12Feeling as if he was going to pass out, he makes his way
- 2:31:16towards the mirror where on the dresser it was connected to, it
- 2:31:20was a rosary. Reaching desperately for it,
- 2:31:24he's able to clutch it just barely, and in this moment,
- 2:31:29whatever invisible hand that was smothering him pulled away.
- 2:31:34Terrified. As the cries that go all around
- 2:31:37them, Michael and Anne hold each other with the rosary and pray
- 2:31:42as hard as they possibly can in Michael's own words.
- 2:31:48As we prayed, the crying seemed to get worse.
- 2:31:52It got louder and louder, almost as if we were physically hurting
- 2:31:57the spirits. As the couple continues, the
- 2:32:01screams go from sounding like those of a young baby to
- 2:32:05something much scarier. It sounds as if a low toned
- 2:32:10person is screaming alongside the baby, as if whatever was
- 2:32:15mimicking this sound was being harmed by their prayers.
- 2:32:20They then stopped praying to listen and suddenly the crying
- 2:32:25had vanished. This concludes this utter horror
- 2:32:29of a night, but little did they know that it would be far from
- 2:32:34the last that the family would have to endure.
- 2:32:39The following morning, as Michael and Anne head into the
- 2:32:42kitchen together before they have a chance to speak with
- 2:32:46anyone, they are concerned with Jackie and Esther frantically
- 2:32:50searching through the drawers, asking both of them if they had
- 2:32:55seen the baby's bottles. The answer?
- 2:32:58No. Michael then asked his parents
- 2:33:01if they had heard the baby crying last night as well,
- 2:33:05saying that Sarah Luis was quiet last night.
- 2:33:09Jackie looks concerned, believing his son to be
- 2:33:13withdrawn and unlike his normal self, he asked him what he
- 2:33:17means. Michael answers him with there
- 2:33:21was a baby crying last night, but it wasn't Sarah Louise
- 2:33:28asking what he was talking about because the neighbors don't have
- 2:33:31any babies. Jackie once again inquires.
- 2:33:36Michael responds with saying that he believes that there may
- 2:33:39be something in the house and whatever this thing was may have
- 2:33:44just hidden the bottles as well. Jackie and Esther didn't really
- 2:33:48believe in any sort of an afterlife and aren't religious.
- 2:33:53They seem to essentially laugh off any sort of a notion that
- 2:33:57any of this could be attributable to a ghost,
- 2:34:01especially Jackie. And after Michael calls out into
- 2:34:05the room if there is a ghost, show us a sign.
- 2:34:11Receiving zero response, he walks away from his parents,
- 2:34:16confused and slightly embarrassed by their reactions.
- 2:34:21He then gets ready for work for the day.
- 2:34:24Later that night, however, what the couple experiences yet again
- 2:34:29is no laughing matter. The ghostly wails of an unseen
- 2:34:34child echo all throughout the house and all around Michael and
- 2:34:38Anne's room. Huddled together, holding one
- 2:34:42another yet again and praying with Michael's rosary, their
- 2:34:46prayers grow louder in an attempt to compete with the
- 2:34:50volume of the cries. Their prayers are soon
- 2:34:53interrupted, however, by their door opening.
- 2:34:56Suddenly It's Jackie asking them just what was going on, why were
- 2:35:03they praying and becoming louder and louder.
- 2:35:06Michael asked him if he too heard the baby's cries.
- 2:35:10Jackie would respond with all I hear is you 2 praying.
- 2:35:16He then scolds them both, obviously having heard nothing.
- 2:35:21He slams the door behind him. When he exits their room,
- 2:35:26Michael is left speechless. It seems like whatever entity
- 2:35:30residing within the home is possibly targeting him and Anne,
- 2:35:35and somehow, some way, the rest of his family wasn't
- 2:35:39experiencing what they were. Needless to say, the two
- 2:35:43wouldn't get much sleep that night either.
- 2:35:47Roughly a week later, as Jackie and Martha come back home with
- 2:35:51baby Sarah Louise following a doctor's appointment for her
- 2:35:55while the rest of the family is out of the house, the two take
- 2:35:59the baby upstairs to lay her down in her crib for her
- 2:36:03afternoon nap. Opening the door to her bedroom
- 2:36:07though, they are shocked by what they see.
- 2:36:11They're on the floor, surrounded by all of her toys, is a music
- 2:36:16box, and it's eerily playing it's song.
- 2:36:21At first Jackie blames his son and fiance, thinking they must
- 2:36:26be playing a trick on them to try and convince them of their
- 2:36:29ghost theory. He then begins to feel something
- 2:36:34else, something he can't so easily explain, as if he's being
- 2:36:39watched. He then begins to wonder if
- 2:36:43perhaps they could be right. The rest of the day would come
- 2:36:48and go. The sun would fall below the
- 2:36:51horizon and the moon would once again rise, casting its ethereal
- 2:36:58glow over the Fahey residence. As the rest of the family sleeps
- 2:37:03in their beds, Michael and Anne are suddenly woken up by a
- 2:37:08bright flashing light. Opening their eyes and
- 2:37:13simultaneously seeing a floating orb of swords pulsing with a
- 2:37:18white and yellow light within their room.
- 2:37:22They huddled together with Michael clutching his rosary as
- 2:37:27hard as he can, watching this thing move and flash before
- 2:37:32their very eyes. In Michael's own words, it was
- 2:37:37like a bright orb. It slowly dissipated, and then
- 2:37:42it just disappeared. Following the sighting of this
- 2:37:46orb, the unearthly cries begin again.
- 2:37:50The couple again would not sleep much this night.
- 2:37:55The following morning, as the Fahey sit down at the table for
- 2:38:00breakfast together, Michael and Anne describe to everyone just
- 2:38:05what they had experienced the night before.
- 2:38:09This starts a bit of family drama.
- 2:38:11Esther, although not religious, was still scared of even the
- 2:38:16thought of the paranormal. She begins to scold Michael as a
- 2:38:20result. The arguing is soon interrupted
- 2:38:23by Jackie, who says to his son, You promised that you didn't
- 2:38:28touch those toys. Michael hadn't yet been Privy to
- 2:38:32the information that his father and sister came home the other
- 2:38:36day to the toys being in a circle surrounding the music box
- 2:38:41in Martha and Sarah Louise's room.
- 2:38:44You would reply with what toys? I never touched any toys.
- 2:38:50In Jackie's own words. That's when I realized we have
- 2:38:54something going on in the house, something not normal.
- 2:38:59The tide of the conversation quickly shifts with this hideous
- 2:39:03revelation. Jackie suggests consulting a
- 2:39:06priest for help. Michael is worried that no one
- 2:39:09will believe them, so to meet somewhat in the middle, they
- 2:39:14decide that they will place a tape recorder in the baby's room
- 2:39:17to see if they can capture the supernatural cries of this ghost
- 2:39:21baby. That way they would have
- 2:39:23tangible proof that could be heard alongside their testimony
- 2:39:28in an effort to seek help. Later that night, as Michael and
- 2:39:33Jackie head upstairs to place the tape recorder in the room,
- 2:39:37they realize that they've left the tapes downstairs.
- 2:39:41They then set the recorder on one of the dressers while they
- 2:39:45head back downstairs. After retrieving the tapes, they
- 2:39:50would then hear a violent commotion coming from upstairs.
- 2:39:54Rushing back upstairs and back into the room as fast as they
- 2:39:58could would come face to face was something that neither of
- 2:40:02them could explain. There on the floor before them
- 2:40:07was the tape recorder. However, it had been completely
- 2:40:12destroyed, mangled. As if someone had deliberately,
- 2:40:17with a strong hand, torn it apart.
- 2:40:21While father and son try and decipher the mystery of the
- 2:40:24destroyed tape recorder, cries suddenly erupt from downstairs.
- 2:40:30There, before Esther and Anne's eyes, the curtains, as if with a
- 2:40:36mind of their own, begin opening and closing rapidly.
- 2:40:41Jackie and Michael would soon rush downstairs to see just what
- 2:40:45had happened. In Jackie's words, that moment
- 2:40:50of fear. Seeing the pure fear in Esther's
- 2:40:54eyes was just horrible. With everyone terrified by what
- 2:41:00was taking place, Jackie decides that enough is enough.
- 2:41:05Without grabbing much of anything, the entire family runs
- 2:41:09out of the house and takes refuge with nearby neighbors who
- 2:41:13have been close friends for years.
- 2:41:16The neighbors are extremely helpful and supportive.
- 2:41:20They allow the family to stay the night with them.
- 2:41:23They all have collectively decided that they will call the
- 2:41:27church in the morning to seek assistance.
- 2:41:31It takes several days after the initial phone call, but a local
- 2:41:36parish priest does come to conduct a blessing within the
- 2:41:40Fahey house. As the father reads his prayers
- 2:41:44out loud with the Fahey surrounding him, they all begin
- 2:41:49to hear the wailing of a baby. However, young Sarah Louise once
- 2:41:55again is not making the cries. Jackie would later say that the
- 2:42:02more prayers that the priest was saying, the more that the ghost
- 2:42:06baby screamed. It was if it was saying get out,
- 2:42:11we don't want you here. The priest although putting up a
- 2:42:15strong front and acting as if he wasn't hearing the cries that
- 2:42:20the rest of the family were. Michael can tell by the look in
- 2:42:24his eyes that he is absolutely petrified.
- 2:42:28Esther begins shaking because she is so frightened.
- 2:42:33After the priest blesses the living room area downstairs, he
- 2:42:37then begins heading upstairs and blessing each room 1 by 1.
- 2:42:43Meanwhile, the storm is brewing outside.
- 2:42:47The dark and swollen clouds are nearly ready to unleash when
- 2:42:53it's time for the priest to bless Sarah Louise and Martha's
- 2:42:57room. As Jackie goes to open the door,
- 2:43:01it won't budget first. As he shoves into it, he
- 2:43:05realizes that the crib has been placed in front of the door.
- 2:43:10After pushing it open, he tells the Father that there has to be
- 2:43:14something within their house. Although the priest seems to be
- 2:43:18in a state of denial, he continues with the blessing.
- 2:43:24He says several more prayers, inflicts some holy water around
- 2:43:28the room. As he finishes, he quickly,
- 2:43:33almost frantically, leaves the house.
- 2:43:35As Michael would later say in regards to the situation, it was
- 2:43:41as if he couldn't wait to get out of the house.
- 2:43:44He nearly ran out the door. The clouds which had gathered
- 2:43:49earlier finally began to rain down upon the earth, healing.
- 2:43:55Hopeful that the blessing done by the priest perhaps cast out
- 2:43:59whatever was dwelling within their home, the Fahey's returned
- 2:44:04to their home. However, to be on the safe side,
- 2:44:08they decide to sleep in the living room together.
- 2:44:12As Thunder and lightning crackle outside while everyone else
- 2:44:18sleeps, Jackie suddenly wakes up to the cries of the ghost baby
- 2:44:23yet again. Oddly though, he seems to be the
- 2:44:28only one disturbed back to consciousness by its cries.
- 2:44:34As he follows the cries upstairs, they suddenly cease
- 2:44:38for a moment and feeling as if he was being watched from
- 2:44:42behind, he quickly turns around to see something that sends a
- 2:44:47cold shiver down his spine. There on a nearby table was a
- 2:44:54small face right before his eyes.
- 2:44:58He watches it levitate as if picked up by invisible hands.
- 2:45:05It slowly tilts and then drops to the floor, shattering it into
- 2:45:11many pieces. The shock of what he had just
- 2:45:14witnessed causes Jackie to try and run away, but he trips
- 2:45:18backwards and partially falls down the stairs.
- 2:45:23Scrambling, he gets back to his feet and runs through the living
- 2:45:27room. He then throws open the front
- 2:45:30door and collapses off the porch and into the front yard.
- 2:45:35As the rest of his family surrounds him, he finally comes
- 2:45:40back to his senses. The family once again takes
- 2:45:44refuge with their neighbors and friends several houses away.
- 2:45:48It is here in their living room that they debate just how
- 2:45:52exactly to tackle this situation.
- 2:45:55Whether to travel 4 hours away to stay with Jackie's sister
- 2:45:59temporarily, or to stay here somehow, but where?
- 2:46:05They can't move in with their neighbors.
- 2:46:08As they discuss what they should do, Jackie and Michael decide to
- 2:46:12go back together to the house and pack necessary items or
- 2:46:17whatever the future may hold. Thankfully, they encounter no
- 2:46:22paranormal resistance to their presence.
- 2:46:25When they obtained these items from the house, Jackie would
- 2:46:29call his sister and arrange for him and Esther to travel to her
- 2:46:33four hours away for the weekend. Although he wants his kids,
- 2:46:38Sarah, Louise, and Anne to join them, they have jobs that they
- 2:46:42must get to in the morning. Martha also says that the entity
- 2:46:46has never bothered her or the baby, which is true.
- 2:46:50He doesn't feel great about their decision but decides to go
- 2:46:54ahead and go after. He's reassured by Michael that
- 2:46:58he will keep them in the loop with anything and everything and
- 2:47:02will do his best to keep them all safe.
- 2:47:06After the parents depart, Michael and Martha and Sarah
- 2:47:11Louise return to the Fahey house.
- 2:47:15The rest of the night is surprisingly quiet for the first
- 2:47:19time in what feels like forever. The following morning, with
- 2:47:25Michael and Anne at work, Martha relaxes on the couch and reads a
- 2:47:30book while her baby sleeps. But not for long.
- 2:47:36The peace is soon shattered by the cries of her daughter.
- 2:47:40Placing the book on the coffee table, she quickly heads
- 2:47:43upstairs to tend to her. The door however, is closed and
- 2:47:49she didn't close it. Finding this strange to say the
- 2:47:53least, she grabs the handle and goes to open it, but it won't
- 2:47:59move. It's as if a large, invisible
- 2:48:03person is pushing it on the other side.
- 2:48:07As Sarah Louise cries for her mother, Martha frantically
- 2:48:11begins to throw her entire body into the door in an effort to
- 2:48:15open it. It doesn't move whatsoever.
- 2:48:20Panicking now, she runs to a neighbor for help as her and the
- 2:48:25neighbor rush back to her house and upstairs to the room.
- 2:48:29The neighbor searches through their toolbox to try and find
- 2:48:32something, anything that'll help open the door.
- 2:48:36When it's suddenly and gently opens.
- 2:48:40The two then look at each other in awe.
- 2:48:43Quickly grabbing her baby, Martha then grabs her bag and
- 2:48:47together with the neighbor, they all flee the house.
- 2:48:51Later that evening, as Michael and Anne both return home from
- 2:48:55work, they notice that there's a note on the door.
- 2:48:59It tells them that Martha and the baby are at a nearby
- 2:49:02neighbor's house. Thinking nothing of it, it's
- 2:49:06Michael goes to fetch his sister and his niece.
- 2:49:09Anne stays back at the house. As she sits in the living room
- 2:49:13waiting for her fiance to return, she suddenly hears the
- 2:49:17sound of something moving. Glancing around the room for the
- 2:49:22source, she realizes that a picture of Sarah Louise on a
- 2:49:26nearby table is shaking profusely.
- 2:49:30Then, as if aggressively thrown, it's the nearby wall and falls
- 2:49:37to the floor, shattering the glass that once held the photo
- 2:49:41in the frame. Upon seeing this, and screams
- 2:49:46and bolts out the front door as fast as she can.
- 2:49:49Upon doing this, she runs into Michael, Martha, and the baby.
- 2:49:55She then frantically tries to explain to Michael just what had
- 2:49:59taken place. She feels that if they go back
- 2:50:02into the house that whatever presence that was there would
- 2:50:06harm Sarah Louise. With Martha agreeing that she
- 2:50:10didn't want to return either after what had happened earlier,
- 2:50:13Michael relents and tells them to get in the car.
- 2:50:17Martha then lets him know that she needs diapers from the
- 2:50:21baby's room before they go. Agreeing to fetch them, Michael
- 2:50:25runs inside and grabs them as well as the baby's car carrier.
- 2:50:31Before leaving the house, however, he picks up the phone
- 2:50:34to make a phone call to his parents to let them know just
- 2:50:38what had happened. Upon dialing his aunt's number
- 2:50:42to call them, he hears several dial tones, but then begins to
- 2:50:46hear faint voices on the other end.
- 2:50:49These voices then began to change in pitch, going from
- 2:50:54higher to lower in a very unsettling way, hanging up the
- 2:50:59phone and then trying again. The phone begins to call and
- 2:51:04then suddenly emits A horrendous eye pitched noise directly into
- 2:51:11his ear, throwing the phone down.
- 2:51:14He's absolutely stricken by what he sees.
- 2:51:18The phone itself is completely melted and is still smoking with
- 2:51:25eyes wide. Michael then runs out of the
- 2:51:27house, but upon exiting the door is then shoved out as the door
- 2:51:33slams behind him. You would later say that I was
- 2:51:38utterly shocked and I didn't know how, but the phone itself
- 2:51:42was melted. I then felt like someone was
- 2:51:45shoving me, like I was being forced out of the house.
- 2:51:50Disturbed and taking the hint that they were unwanted, the
- 2:51:54four of them depart and drive the four hours to stay with
- 2:51:59Jackie and Esther at Jackie's sister's house for the rest of
- 2:52:04the weekend. Several days later, the Fahey's
- 2:52:09reluctantly returned to the house.
- 2:52:12But none of them want to. Esther felt as if the house
- 2:52:16wasn't hers anymore, that it had been taken over by whatever this
- 2:52:21thing was. With a long wait list for
- 2:52:24housing, the family is effectively stuck where they
- 2:52:28are. Trying to make the best of it,
- 2:52:31they decide to go inside. Upon opening the door, however,
- 2:52:36they come face to face with utter destruction.
- 2:52:40It's as if a cyclone has hit the inside of their house.
- 2:52:45The curtains are ribbed, the pictures are broken, furniture
- 2:52:50and items disheveled, Things of all kinds are thrown everywhere
- 2:52:57with reckless abandoned. In the words of Michael, it was
- 2:53:02as if someone had come in and ransacked the place.
- 2:53:06There was nothing missing, no evidence of a break in.
- 2:53:11Angry and upset, the Fahey's begin to try and pick up the
- 2:53:15mess that was their lives. Now.
- 2:53:18It seemed as if the stress of it all was tugging at the seams.
- 2:53:22That we're holding them all together.
- 2:53:25Tired of dealing with it all, the family tries to brainstorm
- 2:53:29just how they could get help. The blessing of a Catholic
- 2:53:33priest didn't seem to work. They ponder, what if they
- 2:53:36contact the papers? Will they be made fun of?
- 2:53:41Maybe. But could someone potentially
- 2:53:44hear of their story and reach out to help them?
- 2:53:48That was also a very real possibility.
- 2:53:52Deciding to take the risk, hoping that it'll result in some
- 2:53:55real help, they decide to reach out to a Dublin radio station
- 2:54:01with their story. As a result, a local paper
- 2:54:05decides to come and interview the Fahey's and see just what
- 2:54:10exactly is happening. The family agrees to the
- 2:54:13interview and it is decided. That a reporter will come.
- 2:54:18Not only to interview the family, but they'll stay the
- 2:54:21night with them to see if they experience any ghostly
- 2:54:25phenomenon. The reporter they send is
- 2:54:29skeptical and doesn't believe in anything like the paranormal,
- 2:54:34but decides to stay anyways. The phase of notice certain
- 2:54:38changes that would signal that something was about to occur
- 2:54:42within the home. One of those signals was that it
- 2:54:46would grow exceptionally cold beforehand.
- 2:54:50This very thing would happen with the reporter present
- 2:54:54sitting at the dining room table, beginning to write her
- 2:54:57story. She didn't believe that anything
- 2:55:00was going to occur. As she speaks, the family
- 2:55:04conversation is suddenly shattered by the sound of
- 2:55:09something breaking. Rushing to the living room where
- 2:55:12the sounds seem to have originated from, they find a
- 2:55:16shattered porcelain figure on the floor.
- 2:55:19It's small, minute fragments thrown everywhere.
- 2:55:24Upon seeing this, the reporter is shaken to her core.
- 2:55:29It's clear that she's convinced that there's something in the
- 2:55:33home now, considering everyone was all together in the kitchen
- 2:55:37when the figure was broken. Deciding to take a photo of the
- 2:55:42broken figure, she keeps riding in the kitchen and she doesn't
- 2:55:46sleep through the night. As a result of her article, the
- 2:55:51story begins to get picked up by more local newspapers, and soon
- 2:55:55press from all over Europe is intrigued by what is dubbed the
- 2:56:00Galway Ghost. Naturally.
- 2:56:03But the press came. Harassment reporters, news
- 2:56:06stations and onlookers soon flocked to the Fahey residence
- 2:56:12hoping to catch a glimpse of the alleged haunting for themselves.
- 2:56:16With this new found fame that they didn't ask for, the Fahey's
- 2:56:20begin to worry that they will only be the subject of ridicule
- 2:56:24and that no one will hear their cries for help.
- 2:56:27Fortunately, they would be dead wrong.
- 2:56:31Several weeks after the story broke and gained traction.
- 2:56:35A reporter would reach out to the family and offer the
- 2:56:39assistance of a professional they knew, a woman named Sandra
- 2:56:43Ramdani. Sandra's a well known
- 2:56:46parapsychologist and. Healer.
- 2:56:49She has stated that psychic abilities are an innate part of
- 2:56:52the human consciousness and that they are not supernatural
- 2:56:56powers. She also rejects the term
- 2:56:59psychic as she said it is misappropriated by frauds.
- 2:57:05After speaking with the family within a week, they welcome.
- 2:57:09Her at their door. Michael would describe meeting
- 2:57:13her like this when Sandra arrived and stepped in the door.
- 2:57:18We got this. Warm, feeling as if we had known
- 2:57:21her for 100 years, after introducing herself to the
- 2:57:26family, Sandra begins to ask them just what all they had been
- 2:57:30experiencing. So the family started at the
- 2:57:34beginning. One thing she really took to was
- 2:57:37that the activity began shortly after the arrival of Sarah
- 2:57:41Louise and to their lives and home.
- 2:57:45Asking the family to take her to the room where they felt the
- 2:57:48most activity in. They would lead her to the
- 2:57:51baby's room, walking around the room and feeling it out to see
- 2:57:56if she could decipher just what kind of.
- 2:57:58Spirit they were dealing with. She picks up on something else
- 2:58:02as well. He asks the family if there's
- 2:58:05been any recent construction in the house.
- 2:58:08Surprised by her question, Michael would answer her.
- 2:58:12With a yes. That the neighbors have been
- 2:58:15doing some work on their home and it had occurred right around
- 2:58:18the same time that Sarah Louise was born and came to live with
- 2:58:23them. In Jackie's words, it freaked me
- 2:58:26out when she was able to tell me that the neighbors were doing
- 2:58:30construction, asking to be alone in the room for a time to see if
- 2:58:35she could gather any more information.
- 2:58:38The family leaves Sandra within as she closes her eyes and
- 2:58:43begins to focus, hoping to make contact with whatever.
- 2:58:46Could be there. She starts to.
- 2:58:49Feel a cold? Air on her skin, causing her to
- 2:58:52get goosebumps. And then she begins to smell as
- 2:58:56if there's smoke within the room.
- 2:58:58She is then drawn into a vision. In this vision, she's in an
- 2:59:03entirely different room. There's a young woman screaming.
- 2:59:08She seems to be giving birth. Within the room, there appears
- 2:59:12to be a man, possibly her father.
- 2:59:16His eyes seemed angry, yet sad. Glancing around the room, then
- 2:59:22she sees a second man lurking within the shadows.
- 2:59:26His face is stern, and he too seems as if he could be angry.
- 2:59:32The screams continue for a short while, and then they turn into
- 2:59:36heavy breathing. As the cries of a newborn baby.
- 2:59:40Fill the air. They then start up again, but
- 2:59:44these screams are different. They seem desperate in a sense.
- 2:59:50The young mother seems to be reaching forward for her baby,
- 2:59:54but the child seems to be in one of the men's arms.
- 2:59:58It's her father, but instead of nurturing, the infant instead
- 3:00:03has placed some kind of cloth over its face and is smothering
- 3:00:08it. The other man then restrains the
- 3:00:11mother as she continues to scream.
- 3:00:15Sandra gasping and opens her eyes.
- 3:00:19The vision has ceased. Warm tears are slowly trickling
- 3:00:24down her face. She is shocked at what has been
- 3:00:28revealed to her. Walking down stairs to greet the
- 3:00:31family, they can tell she's obviously shook up.
- 3:00:35She then sits down with them in the living room to explain just
- 3:00:39what all she saw and was. Able to figure out, she tells
- 3:00:44the. Family that she believes the
- 3:00:46baby was born out of wedlock and out of shame its life was taken
- 3:00:50by the girl's father that the ghost baby.
- 3:00:54Wasn't haunting the house. That the Fahey.
- 3:00:56'S now lived in, but rather the land itself.
- 3:01:01She also believes that the construction by the neighbors
- 3:01:04inadvertently. Disturbed the spirit.
- 3:01:06Causing it to become active again and because it never.
- 3:01:10Got to live. Or feel the love and affection
- 3:01:12of its mother that had desperately wanted to get close
- 3:01:15to Martha since she had just become a new mother herself.
- 3:01:19Asking what could be done now, Sandra offers to conduct a
- 3:01:23healing ceremony in hopes of allowing the spirit to find
- 3:01:27peace. And move on to the other side.
- 3:01:30The family would agree. First things first, Sandra asked
- 3:01:35them to please get Sarah Louise out of the house before the
- 3:01:38ceremony. Needing Martha to be a part of
- 3:01:41the ritual, it is decided that the baby will be taken on the
- 3:01:45stroll by Esther and Jackie. The rest of the family,
- 3:01:50alongside Sandra, then heads upstairs to the child's room to
- 3:01:54begin the ceremony. What she did was then she went
- 3:01:58up to the baby's room and she placed rose rose quartz crystal
- 3:02:03and Snow White quartz crystal in the cot as focal point as the
- 3:02:08baby in the cot. Then what she did was then she
- 3:02:11actually communicated with the ghost by telepathic abilities
- 3:02:16and she found out that it happened about 100 years ago.
- 3:02:22It was a baby boy that was smothered at birth.
- 3:02:25This baby, like was just a newborn baby.
- 3:02:28And who killed the baby? The mother and father.
- 3:02:32And this happened not in the house, but on on that bit of.
- 3:02:36Land where the house is now built.
- 3:02:38That's right. It is explained that amber
- 3:02:40incense will be burned to protect them during the event
- 3:02:45and to promote spiritual healing of the ghost as well.
- 3:02:49She then lays down quartz crystals in the four corners of
- 3:02:52the room in order to purify and recharge the home itself.
- 3:02:57They then place an empty baby carrier on the ground in the
- 3:03:01center of the room and join hands surrounding it.
- 3:03:05They all then close their eyes and begin to take deep breaths
- 3:03:09to focus on the task at hand. Sandra tells them to imagine the
- 3:03:14ghost baby laying in the bassinet before them, surrounded
- 3:03:19by a golden light. To focus on him, to tell him
- 3:03:23it's time to move forward and move on.
- 3:03:27And. Then you see the the very last
- 3:03:31part of the ceremony was actually, well, it was the most
- 3:03:33important part. And I, I saw the spirit actually
- 3:03:35been lifted up and taken away into what?
- 3:03:38The firefight, if she called it, or into heaven, whatever what
- 3:03:40else, whatever you want to call it.
- 3:03:42You saw that yourself. Yeah, and.
- 3:03:43What, what? What exactly did you see?
- 3:03:45Well, what she did, first, she put us all into a circle, right?
- 3:03:48And she said, imagine the baby in the circle.
- 3:03:52And then she, she telepathically linked with us by moving energy
- 3:03:56around the circle. And then she told us, think,
- 3:03:59like, think we're breathing in golden sunlight and bringing out
- 3:04:02tears and unhappiness and sadness and just keep
- 3:04:05concentrating. And I could actually see the
- 3:04:08baby on the floor. Can we just get that clear,
- 3:04:12Michael? Did you see it?
- 3:04:13Yes. You saw it.
- 3:04:15I did see it, yes. And we're doing the exercise,
- 3:04:20breathing and concentrating. And then she said just keep
- 3:04:24concentrating. And then she said, imagine the
- 3:04:26golden light going out to the top of your head.
- 3:04:29And at that moment I saw the baby being lifted up into life
- 3:04:34and then it just disappeared. And it left peacefully.
- 3:04:37It left peacefully. Yeah, upon the ghost baby
- 3:04:41crossing over, the feeling is almost immediately night and
- 3:04:45day. It's as if everyone and
- 3:04:48everything could breathe again. With everyone amazed and so very
- 3:04:53happy that the infant had crossed over.
- 3:04:56The feeling of joy and peace build the home once again.
- 3:05:00Jackie and Esther, who had been outside walking with Sarah
- 3:05:04Louise, returned as well, and they too could instantly sense
- 3:05:09that the ghost was gone. This is what would be considered
- 3:05:14a happy ending for most, but the Galway ghost still haunts the
- 3:05:19minds of the Fahey family. Every time they hear a knock or
- 3:05:23something seems out of place, they fear that perhaps what
- 3:05:28should be gone isn't that maybe it's always there, watching and
- 3:05:35waiting to return. This was a highly requested case
- 3:05:43and a very interesting one in that I did have some of my
- 3:05:47personal takes on this case, as well as some resources and
- 3:05:50questions that I'd like to share with you.
- 3:05:52Now before we go, and this will be in no particular order, so
- 3:05:56this case apparently has been tied to a scandal that took
- 3:06:00place between a priest and a family, with the priest having
- 3:06:03impregnated the daughter a long, long time ago.
- 3:06:07This information comes from Jackie, whose real name actually
- 3:06:11appears to be Jonathan Fahey from his book Cry From Beyond.
- 3:06:16If this is true, it would very much corroborate the ghost baby
- 3:06:19story in the you know, in my opinion.
- 3:06:22I however am a little more skeptical of this ghost baby
- 3:06:26having felt the energy in a home supposedly haunted by a little
- 3:06:29girl, AKA the Sadly house. Albeit things may vary on a case
- 3:06:34by case basis, I do believe that entities and or demons can
- 3:06:39masquerade themselves as children in order to exploit the
- 3:06:42vulnerable. Ask yourself this, why would a
- 3:06:45child, an innocent newborn baby, cause such dread and fear among
- 3:06:50the Fahey's? For this very reason, although
- 3:06:54they may have crossed over a baby's spirit makes me believe
- 3:06:57that something more sinister haunted their home.
- 3:07:01That perhaps following this event, for one reason or
- 3:07:03another, this entity went dormant.
- 3:07:07It seems that construction kicked off the activity by
- 3:07:09disturbing the ghost that was already dormant there in the
- 3:07:13beginning. I believe this probably played a
- 3:07:16role, having had constructions wake up ghosts in an old home of
- 3:07:19mine. This led to some very strange
- 3:07:21experiences such as hearing a chorus of whispers and having
- 3:07:26night terrors, which was not a fun time.
- 3:07:29I also like how the plumbers couldn't smell any of the smells
- 3:07:32that the Fahey's were, as in the disgusting ones.
- 3:07:35I think perhaps they were desensitized to an extent.
- 3:07:39Maybe this played a role in that.
- 3:07:41As a former painter, I mean Meg can tell you that my sense of
- 3:07:44smell is pretty much cooked. I'm sure you know depending on
- 3:07:47your profession, for one reason or another people get nose
- 3:07:50blind. I dug as much as I could, but I
- 3:07:53could not find any updates on the Fahey's past 2006.
- 3:07:57The initial case took place from 1996 into 1997 and it seemed as
- 3:08:02if the family still lives in the same residence as of 2006.
- 3:08:07I hope wherever they are now that they're peaceful and happy.
- 3:08:12I was only able to find one photo that I believe is the real
- 3:08:15residence in which the case took place in and I will show it to
- 3:08:19you now. But on the off chance that
- 3:08:21someone still lives there, whether it's the Fahey's or
- 3:08:24anyone, please respect people's privacy and do not harass or
- 3:08:28bother them. Thank you.
- 3:08:33With how the home was designed, it would be nearly impossible
- 3:08:37for someone to have accessed the window in that room on the 2nd
- 3:08:40floor to have been able to move the crib in front of the door
- 3:08:44and then close it to cause resistance to the door being
- 3:08:47opened. Just how did the?
- 3:08:50Phone end up melting. I do know that in most of Europe
- 3:08:53the power is much stronger than it is here in the United States,
- 3:08:57but there would have been some kind of serious malfunction or a
- 3:09:01surge to be that powerful that it melted the phone.
- 3:09:04I always found that aspect of the case to be exceptionally
- 3:09:07creepy. It doesn't surprise me that
- 3:09:10Ireland has so many folk and ghost tales.
- 3:09:13It seems to be such a mysterious yet beautiful place that I'd
- 3:09:17certainly like to visit one day. I did want to give a shout out
- 3:09:20to my Irish fans. I hope I did this infamous story
- 3:09:25justice for you guys. And I did want to ask, had you
- 3:09:28heard of this case before? I covered it with that.
- 3:09:32Everyone please like the video if you liked it, share it
