- 0:06[SPEAKER_02]: everybody welcome back into the daily guards Pat McWire alongside the one and only Carlos by Irga it is a Wednesday Carlos.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_02]: We are back here talking our Cleveland Guardian.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_02]: So happy to have you back here.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like it's been a little bit of a long time.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's been kind of a rainy week long, you know, we're approaching the All-Star Break.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're kind of in the dark days of summer already Carlos.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: But the Guardians, they're playing some pretty good ball.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: A really good series against the Chicago White Sox.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: That was crazy.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: It was very crazy.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: We came back over times and we're winning in the 90's and there was some special.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: How are you doing, Pat?
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing great.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: How are you feeling, sir?
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: Being good, being good, just waiting for the all-star game.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's a big moment, you know, that they come through, you know, for a lot of players.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm this year.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have three, we're going to have three, four, ten years in a row, we have multiple players going to the hostargeting.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: So this year is going to be Bassana, Case Meat, and Parker, Massick.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: We got to Rookie, San Diorama, what's the last one to have to be in the hostargeting, you know, he wouldn't work the year.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: And this year we might have the opportunity to have one too.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: So Case Meat, Bassana, I'm Massick.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: They're the two rookie, the number four and the number five, you know, to make you know, to make it to the Australian.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's something special, but I still believe that we should put another guy in there.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: And that's Brian Rocky, Ryan Rocky is being our hard.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know that our man, he'll say, Ramirez, but he's being our hard.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, moving from second to short stop, you know, being the close man in the in hitting the in the night.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's amazing.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Rocket hitting six o'clock 37 RBI's 275.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's been over 275 the whole year.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: So it's been really special.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that, you know, we still have one week to go to the Australia again.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't want nobody to be hurt.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you know, I don't want nobody to be hurt.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: But I believe he deserves to be there.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: you know he did it he's been doing a great job for us to, but I think that did rock you was over here for this matter.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what you think about.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah Carlos I would agree with you because I think it's more of a statement on maybe how weak the second-second-based position is in the American League.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: Shortstop you got a lot of name recognition right you got a lot of guys were like okay well he's been doing it a long time in the major leagues.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Rokio having a good season being very clutch but
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: at a certain point, some of those short stops.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know the game Carlos, some of those short stops are gonna get more name recognition and make more of the all-star games.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm glad you mentioned that with Travis Pazano, though, too, because this marks the second time where the first overall pick in his rookie season has made the all-star game Paul schemes was the other one.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: So, some really good company for Travis Pazano to be in right now for our Cleveland Guardians.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: I was a little bit surprised to hear his name, but I think you look at the second basement.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: They don't necessarily have the power of one Carlos by Irga back in the 90s right Carlos.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: hopefully the second base.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: He can continue to work on his defense a little bit.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a little shaky there from Bazana, but his bat is definitely playing at the major league level.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I see.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's the only thing that he needs to improve a little bit, you know, to be consistent.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's the most important.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: But I know he will be hard every day.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's come to the ballpark early and he take a lot of run balls and you know, he want to be better.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: It happened to me at the beginning of my career, I make a lot of errors, but then when Omar came in, he teach me how to prepare myself, how to be ready, who I need to be quick to try to throw to throw to the base of.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: He gonna learn that knowing the legs, knowing the team, knowing the players, the play against him.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the moments that you have to take before the game.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: I always say practice, make you better.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: in a war habit make you better so I think he have got a ready the war hobby he have it he have it still working and we used to need to get better from him you know making better he's a good place absolutely there's a reason why there's a lot of those jerseys hanging up behind your right Carlos a lot of the guy know how to work hard right so yeah they do guys right next to me Robbie all over my home or this girl 12 or go off I never go go off so those two guys that was amazing
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so you can listen to guys like you and guys like those or Travis Pazon of those sort of guys, you know, they're in a great spot.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you brought up Brian Rokio though, too, because I think his glove is getting a little bit forgotten right now along the all start kind of conversations.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: He was the defensive player of the month for the American League in the month of June.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's been unbelievable.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I've said this in the preseason, like leading up to the kickoff of the season, Brian Rokio.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think his glove is just like the number 12 right behind you.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: Could be Francisco Lindor level of good.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's found for an all star appearance in the future as well as a golden glove appearance in the future as well.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: Tell me if I'm wrong there, Carlos, but Brian Rokio, his glove is really special.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: I am behind him when you're saying it, you know, I've been watching it every day.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: I know that at the beginning, when he got moved from second base to short start, I was kind of wary a little bit because I was doing a great job in short stop, but he stepped up and he did an unbelievable job, he's been demanding there and I think he's been there and he's going to be there for a long time because he's been amazing, he's been a leader, he's been the guy that, you know, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they,
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: talking to everybody in the field and you know a rocket this year he's step up on over the level and then you know when you have all the walk off putting you know helping to you know to win games big games big games you remember last year yesterday Troy
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: for us to go to the playoff for us to feel it first.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: He was the man I hit the homer the other day and Chicago hit the homer too, you know, to win the game too.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: So he's been special know you're with the glove, with the bats and he always come through and he always dives to turn the double play.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: So he keep improving and he gonna keep improving because he gonna not be lead to he gonna know who's the fast runner, who's the slow runner, what I need to do when I get the ball and his been his pressure.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: There's something about Bryan Rokio and that foul pull Carlos, because he's had two and really special walk-offs that have gone off the foul pull.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: I was right there and right field right behind it, so it was really cool to walk.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the thing about it is one of those, the walk-off you talk about it against Detroit, you know, fastball down and into the lefty obviously for Rokio.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: This one, against the white socks, it was more of a fastball that caught more of the middle of the plate.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe even to the outside or more of the outside part of the plate Carlos, talk about how difficult it is to turn on that as a lefty and a hitter and keep it fair down the right
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you had to be ready for that fastball.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know, be the first pitch and he decided to swing it.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I was kind of, wow, why he throw it in the fastball knowing that he's going to be quick for that.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: He was the guy was dominant everybody after beginning with the breaking ball.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that was a group, me stay for us, you know, they made that choice through, you know, to throw it fast, what's the rocket and now we finish the game.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, then it's a rocket to, you know, to be prepared for that.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what, that's what, that's what, how several are they teaching me when I was coming up, you know, to the buildings my first two years.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be ready for the fast, go.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry about it, break it, go.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: Be ready for the fast, go.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: If you can't hit the fast, go.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta be here for one second.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a big one for Brian Roker.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: He can hit that fast, but we saw it against the foul pole right there.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: But Carlos, there's a couple of the names I wanted to get to as well, talking about the All-Star Break.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: We're approaching in here.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: We've only got one week here.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: The mic's coming up on Monday already where the All-Star Break is hard to believe that we're approaching the middle of July already in this season.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: But three names that probably would have made the All-Star Game for Cleveland.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_02]: Had they stayed healthy, had they continued their projected stats as well.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: On Hill Martinez, Chastolater and Jose Ramirez, you could have had a lot
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: more names there in the All-Star Game for Cleveland.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: On Hill was definitely on the track in my opinion of making the All-Star Game because the peaks of his bat unbelievable so far this season.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: On Hill has been a guy that he stepped up as a player, as a leader, to be a complete player.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Even playing in the outfit, he's been improving a lot.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: Even he played good last year, Vati, he went to another level, you know, throwing two bases, that's another thing to
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Throwing guys in home out in bomb play playing center field playing right field playing left field So he's been it's been really really good.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a close to he got 33 RBI's 11 hovers, you know for him You know, he went up in the homers.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: He got stronger and I know that we've been missing in the last three weeks Because he was a close for us.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's you know stuff like that, but I think he gonna be okay You know what I like about this this guy gonna be fresh.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: He and Jose Ramirez
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: coming back.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be amazing what we're going to have in the segment.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: Look at what's going on with the louder.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: The louder that got three weeks off, he's been, you know, he's been really, really go hitting 348 on the last eight games.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's been amazing.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's winning, you know, it's ready for the fastball hitting the fastball and stuff like that.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: He even got it over.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the louder when five homers in the first week and then he stopped, he hit two more and then he stopped and then he started swinging the barra, he's got a homer too.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I think this rest is going to help us a lot.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's one of the doyers.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: The doyers, look at what happened with the doyers.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: The doyers, the other prince, the hero at the beginning.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: And then in the last part, they got everybody fresh, you know, to play in the play of stuff like that.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I hope that happened to us.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's something to be said to have a little bit of a mental reset too because we've seen some of our rookies come up this year Carlos, you know, we saw it early on in the season with Juan Brito and Travis Besan and guys like that where, you know, it's kind of like they say drinking out of a firehouse.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_02]: You're taking in a ton of information.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: You're taking in all sorts of different details of what the life is like at the major league level.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, you struggle early on.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: You're looking for some of those hits.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: But as soon as those guys settled in, chased a lotter, I think he's back here.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: That 425 foot home run.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: He hit against the white socks on Sunday.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: If the wind wasn't blowing in, Carlos, that's 450 feet.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's Jim Tomi type of level over there, Carlos.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_02]: He has been an unbelievable powerheader.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: If he can get up to 20 home runs, that would be the first outfielder for the Guardians in nearly 20 years to hit 20 home runs.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't had very long time.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I always say that he's going to be a big part of that.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: And he's been big.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday he got two more hits against the Minnesota twins.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: I know that we lost, but he's been amazing.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: He got a belly.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: 14 of the last 15 games he's been getting you know getting on base and he's improving to in the offensive he's doing a great job to in the offensive so that's a good sign good sign because he's planning the offensive you know I know that we're resting at least twice a week to do a DH tool you know we have to make sure that we want to keep it in the field and that's he's been really special we just missing two guys
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's in two guys that I hope that after the old star game, I think we're going to have been there.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: I know he already started hitting and I think this week, or maybe a Monday, or say Ramirez going to start hitting too.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: So let's see what happened.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that we got good news.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe two weeks from now, we're going to have.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: the whole team back again together.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I hope that we don't make the run that we need to make.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Because we are one game back.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: I know nobody pick up to being there.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is a better team.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: We are the only, the only team in baseball right now.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: They have the five, the five starter together still.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: They only team in baseball.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: They's been blessed.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: I always say we are blessed to have a starting a feature that we have in there.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, too.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's one thing, too, because, you know, you're a gameback, as you mentioned, from the Chicago White so actually took two out of four in that series.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: It kind of felt like Thursday and Friday, you're like, okay, well, maybe we can get a four game sweep.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you're always thinking you're absolutely looking that way.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: But not in the cards for the other guardians, as well, they only a gameback, 47 and 45.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: They're two games back in the lost column from the Chicago White sox.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that I was necessarily that impressed from Chicago because their bullpen Carlos will dive into it in the next segment, but their bullpen really faltered when they needed to most.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: They were able to hold on for those games on Saturday and Sunday, but a couple of walk-offs, Kaleo Watson, obviously the one that we talked about with Bryan Rokio as well.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: You think long-term the Guardians can outlast the White Sox.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think we got we got this premise.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: Remember we've been in the play of the last three years and we've been the play of the last seven years out of nine.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: So we know how to play.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: We know what it takes.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: But I keep saying.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Then we need to bring one more right on the bat and I'm going to mention again yesterday I'm mentioning my show and I say we need to be entitled war title war is the guy that I think we need here We need a power heater right on the right on the heater the plane the outfit I can play on three outfits or he can help us out so that I believe that we have that we have watch Some watch some can play and write it and he can play a lefty or he can play anywhere to so I think you know
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: We, we unhappy that Stephen Quant is getting back.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's been good.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, in the last eight games, he's been hitting 348 and too.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: So he, we got, we getting, you know, Stephen Quant, he's playing gold glove out for your too.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: So we're adding him.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think Taylor was, you know, to a line of hitting behind, hitting behind a Jose Ramirez is gonna be, we are gonna be stronger.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't agree more.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's great to see Stephen Quangowing as well.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's gonna be some musical chairs when we get back past the All-Star Break when some of these injured players come back for our Cleveland Guardians.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: We'll dive into some of those moves coming up next, New Daily Guards.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: The biggest stage in World Soccer is here, and every goal changes everything.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: And now, Fandle is giving you a reason to root for every single one, introducing every goal pays.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: But on a match and get bonus bets for every goal scored in that match, that's right.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: More goals means more bets.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: And all you have to do is turn on your token.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: from the opening whistle to the final kick.

- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: back here on the daily guards Pat McGuire alongside Carlos Bayer.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: We are talking about our Cleveland Guardians one game back in the A.L.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: Central right now.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: Couldn't get it done last night.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: The offense faltered again last night.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: Carlos only one run on three hits.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's different from seeing three runs on 10 hits on the other side as well.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: To not great.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: For our guardians, it does seem like the offense comes in spurts a little bit Carlos.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: We saw it on Sunday against the white socks where they were able to put up six runs and you know, Gabriel Ares had a prodigious three run Homer into the bleachers as well.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: when it's not, when the offense isn't really going, this gardening team really struggles.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: We need to get our offense.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: We've been playing too many games, you know, by runrooms, losing too many games, by runrooms.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that's good that we keep, you know, we might take ourself.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: But we need to score more runs.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: We need to, you know, to produce and that's being the key, right there, a line of the, you know, that we strike out with a lot of guys on third base and second base, you know, we, we need to bring that, you know, even in the series against Chicago, every game we have in the first inning, when on third base, we listen to one out, and we don't bring it in the first inning.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: and we don't bring that wrong.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the little things they're going to get us done.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: You score right away.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: You fish and start the going to go, yes, I got the wrong right here.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Let me step up and do the job in there.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the little things that we need to get better in there.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that we've been five and 10 in the last 15 games, but we need to get better.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: We need to get better.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: We need to play better.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: to it in the road trade.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm right now.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: We playing in a team that Minnesota to it.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: Minnesota to it.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: They play really good.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: They win 13 games out of the 20.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody spent time to be there.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I spent the Chicago wife to be there.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the little things right now that we are going this year and even Detroit.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: They play better baseball.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: They play better.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I think right now our division, the is the worst division.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's what everybody
- 16:46[SPEAKER_00]: We are beating everybody too.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: We are pretty good against everybody.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: So our division is going to be strong and it's going to be through the last part of September Who's going to be the one I'm going to make it and I think we it's going to be one thing just one thing to make it to the player So I hope is the audience to go there
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hoping it's the Guardians as well too, because the Guardians obviously came back from the Chicago White Sox.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: But as you mentioned too, the Minnesota twins, they're not necessarily having the greatest of seasons because they traded pretty much everybody last year at the Trade Deadline.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: They're only three games back in the A.L.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_02]: central though, so like teams are still hanging around, especially if they can take two out of three against the Guardians here in this series.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not hoping that's the case.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully we can get some more offense going in the Twin Cities for our Cleveland Guardians Carlos.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: The thing about it is, for whatever reason, it seems like the twins pitching really does a good job against this lineup for the Cleveland Guardians.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's because they're so left handed heavy.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't really understand resuscans had a home run as well, too.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: But you pinch it, Kalman Zardo, you had to pinch it, late, Gabrielle Arias.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: So some of the moves didn't really favor the Guardians necessarily where you have to pinch it.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: Your guys later on, only one run, obviously on three hits, as I mentioned.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: So there's a lot of left-handed hitters as we continue to talk about Carlos.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: When Jose Ramirez and on-home Martinez come back, I think there's going to be a couple of guys without seats on the roster, right?
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: We're a Cooper angle, maybe he gets sent back down.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's been a rookie, he's been struggling in the field as well.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_02]: And another one, kind of an elephant in the room, Gabriel Areas.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well Gabriel, I had to step up.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: This is the opportunity for him to show everybody who he is.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: I know he's been hitting some hovers, stop right now, but he needs to get better under defense because we, he's a global of guy.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that, you know, he got the gloves to do it.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: So that's, that's one of the key right there.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: But we need to, we need to prepare, we need to play better, we need to, you know, we, we, we, we,
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: we had to go down the arrows, mentally arrows to run in the bases, feeling stuff like that.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: So for us to be better because when you, when you don't score that many runs, you can only arrows.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: You can only arrows because you'll give it up for two leads to the other thing, but you can let your opportunity because you look score that many runs.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I believe.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: I, I,
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: I had to say that's what I say.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: I know Cooper English is a good player.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good pro, but I don't think he's ready to be in the movies.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I feel.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think he's ready to be here.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're rushing, you know, to be here in the village and I hope that he get better.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's playing a position that he never played before.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: He got like two weeks before he got caught, you know, caught up to the village.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think he, we, we, I think we are better.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: Forty fry, fry speed playing on the old in the ocean.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: I've been over a week, I've seen them two, three week and a year, my team have been like, so we can go with these two guys and I've been helping, if I've been helping, he can help us, you know, run for fry, run for husking, run for even the latter in the late in his stuff like that.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, and he can play all three our filters.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think we need a guy like that in here.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: So let's see what's going to be the move that they're going to make.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think Cooper in here, he's, I don't think he's going to help us right now.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's just not ready.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously he was in the minor leagues as a catcher for quite a long time.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_02]: You throw him into left field and, you know, he's got some dropped balls, some misreads, and that sort of thing through the ball into the stands.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: We did talk about that one Carlos where he'll never make that mistake again, but he did make that mistake in that game.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully he's able to get his head, you know, right.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously the bat is still pretty good.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: Some of the approach at the at the plate has not been necessarily ideal.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_02]: He was able to get his first major league hit at the major league level and get an RBI with it.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: I do think he goes back down to the minor leagues because I think guys like Faleo Watson, you can't really send him back down.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: And he's just like two if Steven Kwan, right?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's he's been resurgently and eight game hitting streak.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_02]: He was coming back through for us in big moments as well.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: Guys like him, you can't really give him up because Steven Kwan, you know, he's gold, gold, gold, gold, gold, level, outfielder.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: As you mentioned, Carlos, you can't really give him up there, but guys like that, when the outfield comes back, I think they're still going to continue to do the platoons.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, no, no, no, that's what I believe, you know, I still ain't going to be okay.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: I still ain't going to be okay, I still ain't going to be okay, I still haven't been going to be back.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: But he got all said back, that's another punch that we're going to have in there and maintain it.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we need to keep ourselves right close to there and then we go and maintain it and I, and I'm going to get to the line, it's going to be a different line.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: So I need to, I think.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: We need to get one more reliever.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you think about it.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: We need to have one more guy to help us out in there.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think that's what I think.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: And we're teaching really good.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: We're teaching our bothpan is being unbelievable.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: But let me see, that's the night.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: Last night we got how many in it.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: I love all of them.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: All of them.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Kranko, all of them.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: I love the way he pays Shabbos.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: You're being good.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, a guy he's been got, a guy he back again.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: Kate's been unbelievable.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's been awesome awesome.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: I know that he gave up the other day in Chicago But that gonna happen.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: That gonna happen.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's a Reliever and now in the business.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't go through it to a bad time So I think, you know, we gonna be okay.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: Don't that.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: I love our busy stuff.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: I started doing a great job Even second in the hippies, but the other day, but he keeps us in the game
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: in there.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: So that's that's that's been the key.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: Our fishing stuff that really, really back and we're fishing really good.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Williams is the one.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the only one, the big kind of so-so, a little bit, but I think you like it.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to get better again and we're going to go we're going to keep going.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, Joey Cantillo yesterday for the Guardians against the Minnesota Twins.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, there was a couple moments in there where the defense sort of let him down and cost him a lot of pitch and pitches and maybe some of the innings too.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_02]: He could have lasted a little bit longer, rested some of the bullpen Carlos.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: When the defense lets you down as a pitcher, I know you're back behind the field.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: Some great pitchers in there in the 90s as well too, but when the defense lets the pitchers down, how do you guys go back in there in the dugout and be like, okay, we got you.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, let's get the bats, let's get the gloves going.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: What is the message when you go back into that dugout to support your pitcher?
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: That message we have to make up, we have to be in confidence, we have to let him know who we are, be ready with it.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do it again.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to make it.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to catch it for you.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: And those are the little things.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: And you know who I love, that he always do that by the.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: He even told that he had a tough kind this year last year.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: He, this guy, keep everybody up.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody's somebody making me say it right away.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: He goes through him and say,
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to back you up.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to do it again and stuff like that.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: So we need to have that.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be pointing fingers like we love because this guy mega arrow or this guy, you know, we don't play with different, you know, we have to, you know, we have to forget about that.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: Because everybody made me stay and that's what we have to keep our team together.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: And still, but do a great job on that.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's an example.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: We will on that.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: He know, like, you know, a team to be fighting.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: you don't like to be a team to be talking about different things, you know, in the core house, we need to have the same mind winning.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: We need to have the same mind about, you know, the playing our ball, we need to bond the ball, we need to score, we need to run the basis right.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: So those little things are going to be the one that's going to help us out to win games.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: I was pretty encouraged to about the way that the Guardians were approaching that white socks here is at the plate though.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: It dude.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: It kind of really did feel like Garth's ball was back Carlos.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you feel the same way.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: See the being on the broadcast through that whole weekend.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: The ballpark was electric Carlos.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: It felt unbelievable.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: Even on Sunday when you had the rain delay to you knew that game was going to be important.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: Tanner Bobby let's up some runs early.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_02]: But I think this Garth's ball is back.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think Thursday and Friday showed just what this team can be, especially when you get the bats going because in clutch moments, even throughout the whole game,
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: I can't, it's hard not to compare it to the 90s Carlos where even if you did struggle through most of the game, in the clutch moments, it always feels like the guardians are going to come through.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: We have the different kind of team, you know, we have the power, you know, that you know, if by this thing, we create runs, you know, walking, we walk a lot.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's a good thing right there.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: And we've been, you know, getting close hit by, you know, the key guys in there,
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: the bench is being unbelievable.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: When you have seen them, when you have fried, when you even have hockey, it's coming from the bench and doing the job that they're doing.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's the special.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we are, we are, we are okay.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: I know how no problem.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know where they are.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: I know we have to play better.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: I know we need to win those close games, you know, in there.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: So what we got to be okay, I think the first thing that I have to say
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: We need to be healthy to win games and to happen to everything.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: Look at what a Yankees, they're going through a tough time right now.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: They play really good at the beginning when George got hurt, but now everybody gets tired because they are no use to play like that every day.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the little things that we need to do when tell yourself ready, prepare.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: And it's been a different kind of weather.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: You know how hard he's in Cleveland, right?
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: How?
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: But you know the rainy there too.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: So we need to know how to get ready, you know, get ready.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: get yourself ready for the game and stuff like that, and get prepared, and mentally be strong, mentally be strong, do the linear things, know yourself as a heater, when I was struggling, I was moving the gun over, getting ground ball, putting the ball in place, stuff like that.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, they don't have to manage to me.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I had to do, because I didn't want to know how I feel,
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: Heading the ball.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm struggling, I don't see the ball right.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm striking out a lot, if I hit a rural grandpa, I know myself.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: So sometimes when you mind and you're intending that have to come through and say, hey, I need to play for the team because I am not struggling.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: The guy behind me, he's gonna pick it up.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: So both are the leaders that we need to do.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, and this Guardians team, when they're going well, that's exactly what they do, Carlos.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully they can continue that only a game back from the Chicago White Fox right now.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_02]: Hard to believe we're 92 games into the season already, Carlos.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: We've only got a couple more before the All-Star Break.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: This summer's kind of fine by Carlos.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_02]: You never really, you look up and you're like, oh my goodness, it's about to be game 100 here pretty soon.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully the Guardians can continue to close the deal in the A.L.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: Central when these guys get back healthy on Hell Martinez.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: Jose Ramirez and obviously chased a lot of getting back up to speed as he does.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: We need we go to more games against Minnesota.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: We got a seconding and we got Williams.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: We got the two big guys for us.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't speak pitch.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: Really good.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know that the last hour he wasn't that good, but he's been fishing good.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: Gabby Williams, we need to get that ten win.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: He got nine for right now with three eight in a year.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_00]: I want him to finish strong, you know, this first off.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then we're going to be a Miami.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: So we need to step up Miami is the hottest thing in baseball right now.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: The leader league is joining.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're now the winner, the right now they play really good in July.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: So we need to step up with these two games in Minnesota.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then go to Miami and at least we'll two or three in Miami.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: absolutely 50 and 42 for the marlins.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: I did not anticipate seeing that one.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: I know they had some good pitching, obviously.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be difficult.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_02]: I know Jensen Lewis talked about it on one of our big play Cleveland Live shows.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to go through the teeth of that rotation to this weekend as well too, Yuri Perez.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'll contract as well.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: You're going through some really difficult pitchers down there.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: So you got to be ready.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you're thinking of three games series going into that all-star break.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_02]: You got to focus before you go in there, especially with my Emmy, the good weather.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: You know that pretty well down there, Carlos.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you very much.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: As we approach the all-star break, I'm glad we got a couple of guardians in there as well.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: And glad we got our all-star here, Carlos Bayer, thanks again for joining us on this Wednesday, Carlos, as always.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: Always there, let's go, guys, and I want to give thanks to the fans.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: They've been coming to the ballpark that we followed the team.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: I was talking to Rafael and I said, man, it's it's it's feel like it play off on the fear of the ballpark, and I know the fans they've been really big for us.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: and we need to keep doing it in the second half.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_00]: So go bless everybody, all the best for you guys.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: Unless win, this series definitely is from the first half.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: The Guardian's doing pretty well at the ballpark as well.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks again to Carlos.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_02]: And this has been The Daily Guards right here on the Big Place Sports Network.
