So how do I say 'brother' in Amharic? Lucas: Brother is ወንድም. Say it with me: ወንድም. Luna: ወንድም. Lucas: Great. And sister is እህት. Repeat: እህት. Luna: እህት. That's nice. So if I want to ask someone 'Do you have a brother?', how do I say that? Lucas: You say ወንድም አለህ? Let's break it down: ወንድም is brother, አለህ means 'do you have?' So together: ወንድም አለህ? Luna: ወንድም አለህ? Lucas: Perfect. And for sister: እህት አለህ? Luna: እህት አለህ? Got it. So how would I answer 'Yes, I have a brother'? Lucas: ወንድም አለኝ. That means 'I have a brother.' Say it: ወንድም አለኝ. Luna: ወንድም አለኝ.
