- 0:21Speaker 2: back to back situation just like their exit stage left
- 0:24Speaker 2: heading into the holiday break, and they're looking to keep
- 0:27Speaker 2: the heat going as far as what they're building up

- 1:07Speaker 2: you ready here for this one will be joined by
- 1:09Speaker 2: the mayorra Maple Valley Ian Furness, of course, heard one
- 1:12Speaker 2: to three week days on ninety three to three KJRFM,
- 1:15Speaker 2: also TV host on the KRACK and Hockey Network. We
- 1:19Speaker 2: will talk the three game win streak here for the Kraken,
- 1:21Speaker 2: the injury bug which apparently is getting better, and a
- 1:25Speaker 2: brief look here at the Kracking opponents in Philadelphia and
- 1:29Speaker 2: Vancouver heading into this back to back set right fresh
- 1:33Speaker 2: out of the holiday break. Ian Furness joining us here
- 1:37Speaker 2: in just a bit. Well, the Kraken couldn't have gone
- 1:39Speaker 2: into the break with better terms than what they had
- 1:42Speaker 2: back on December twenty third, finishing a three game sweep
- 1:46Speaker 2: of the California leg on their road trip through San Jose,
- 1:50Speaker 2: then Anaheim and then Los Angeles, all without the likes
- 1:54Speaker 2: Brandon Montor, Vince Dunn, Jereed McCann, Jaden Schwartz and more.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Yet things could be getting better. Lane Lamber spoke with
- 2:03Speaker 2: the media after practice on Saturday, with mccannon Dunn reportedly
- 2:07Speaker 2: back on ice and his update here which perhaps gets
- 2:11Speaker 2: them a little closer right back into the lineup.
- 2:14Speaker 4: They're still you know, in the same position they were,
- 2:17Speaker 4: but obviously they participated fully today. So we'll reevaluate here
- 2:22Speaker 4: this afternoon and see where they're at. They look pretty good, and.
- 2:26Speaker 5: You guys obviously got on a good three game before
- 2:29Speaker 5: the break. When you have had time to kind of
- 2:31Speaker 5: think back and look at those three games or any
- 2:33Speaker 5: of through lines of things that you think of a
- 2:35Speaker 5: key to the group getting those results.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I thought just everybody was pulling on the rope together,
- 2:41Speaker 4: all on the same page. I thought our work ethic
- 2:43Speaker 4: and our commitment level was outstanding, and I thought we
- 2:46Speaker 4: got great goaltending. You know, that was a key for us,
- 2:50Speaker 4: as our goaltenders were really good during that period of time.
- 2:53Speaker 4: But what I like most about our team was our
- 2:56Speaker 4: determination level.
- 2:57Speaker 5: And when you use those words, you know, termination level
- 3:00Speaker 5: in that commitment. You know, what does that look like
- 3:04Speaker 5: to you want the ice just to help like Gadans picture.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Well, it means that everybody is doing their utmost best
- 3:12Speaker 4: to a whin their individual battles b B in positions
- 3:15Speaker 4: that they're supposed to be in. So you know, it's
- 3:18Speaker 4: conducive to you know, being able to have trust from
- 3:22Speaker 4: their teammates and you know, everyone just cheering for the
- 3:29Speaker 4: other guy. And I thought we I thought we've done
- 3:33Speaker 4: that over the last three games. I thought we did
- 3:35Speaker 4: a really good job on the road trip and we
- 3:37Speaker 4: have to continue that.
- 3:38Speaker 5: And how much of that is you know, maybe if
- 3:42Speaker 5: a line is out there and they don't getting old,
- 3:44Speaker 5: and it's setting up the following line from the you know,
- 3:47Speaker 5: it's a mill on that next shift, the next shift,
- 3:50Speaker 5: is that sort of playing it?
- 3:51Speaker 4: Does it all do well? It's what I always say,
- 3:54Speaker 4: it's not what you get, it's what you leave. And
- 3:56Speaker 4: when you leave the ice, are your teammates in a
- 3:58Speaker 4: good position? You know, And especially in the second periods
- 4:01Speaker 4: when the changes are short, the benches right there. You'll
- 4:05Speaker 4: see on a number of occasions when we've had some
- 4:07Speaker 4: really good ozone time in the second period, we change
- 4:09Speaker 4: one at a time, get fresh bodies out there and
- 4:13Speaker 4: you know, hem them in and keep them tired. And
- 4:17Speaker 4: you know, that's just unselfish hockey, That's what that is.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Then he mentioned he's the Collins holds that that for
- 4:25Speaker 5: you to just make sure that they're ready to.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Yeah, he's done a great job. You know, we knew
- 4:32Speaker 4: that coming in that you know, he was he was
- 4:35Speaker 4: the guy for the job, and certainly with his relationship
- 4:38Speaker 4: with the goaltenders, you know, having had really all three
- 4:42Speaker 4: of them at certain points, with Murr and him being
- 4:45Speaker 4: from the same hometown as well. You know, Uh, he's
- 4:49Speaker 4: done a very very good job in his first year
- 4:51Speaker 4: of managing three goaltenders, which isn't an easy thing to do.
- 4:54Speaker 4: And uh, you know, the key to that, to be
- 4:57Speaker 4: honest with you, is all the three goaltenders have been
- 5:00Speaker 4: super professional and you know, unselfish.
- 5:04Speaker 3: But what's the messaging to the group coming back off
- 5:07Speaker 3: of this break?
- 5:08Speaker 4: I mean, you use those three games. I mean, if
- 5:10Speaker 4: you've kind of turned the fortunes around really quickly in
- 5:13Speaker 4: the standings, are in a playoff position points, yeah, according
- 5:16Speaker 4: to the points percentage right now, I mean, it seems
- 5:18Speaker 4: almost like a fresh start. Yeah. I mean, you know,
- 5:21Speaker 4: like I said, throughout that whole stretch in December, you know,
- 5:25Speaker 4: we felt like we were playing well enough to win,
- 5:28Speaker 4: we just were finding ways not to to a certain degree,
- 5:33Speaker 4: you know, and and we just got to keep going.
- 5:35Speaker 4: We've got to keep going with the way we've been playing.
- 5:38Speaker 4: We fully felt that, uh, you know, if we kept
- 5:41Speaker 4: playing the way we were playing, even when we were losing,
- 5:43Speaker 4: I told you ironically enough we were playing well that
- 5:48Speaker 4: we would be able to turn things around. And you know,
- 5:53Speaker 4: it's it's three games. Things change fast. You know, you're
- 5:56Speaker 4: never as good as you you think you are, and
- 5:58Speaker 4: you're never as bad as you think you are. So
- 6:01Speaker 4: the message is one game at a time, and we
- 6:03Speaker 4: just got to keep going. We have an opportunity here,
- 6:06Speaker 4: you know, certainly in the next two games at home,
- 6:09Speaker 4: to be better at home and improve our record at
- 6:12Speaker 4: home and you know, climb the ladder.
- 6:17Speaker 6: We've talked to you so much about special teams this year,
- 6:19Speaker 6: laying but now that results of training, you know, the
- 6:23Speaker 6: fans starting the power play, I mean, what do you
- 6:27Speaker 6: think has been key to that unit sort of finding
- 6:29Speaker 6: now the success they've had this last year nine.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Games, Well, you know what, I think, it's just been
- 6:35Speaker 4: repetition of the same message. If you think about it.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Chris Taylor's done an incredible job with our power play,
- 6:42Speaker 4: and you know, the numbers are all high. You know,
- 6:46Speaker 4: the expected goals are high for the most part, So
- 6:51Speaker 4: you know, I think really the puck movement and even
- 6:56Speaker 4: when we weren't scoring, and we had, you know, the
- 7:00Speaker 4: Edmonton game five on three and everybody's in a panic
- 7:04Speaker 4: about the power play not scoring. They were getting looks,
- 7:09Speaker 4: and you know, for me, that was the key, and
- 7:13Speaker 4: it was only a matter of time. And it's come
- 7:15Speaker 4: up big for us here over the last little stretch
- 7:17Speaker 4: of games. You know, we're over thirty percent and you know,
- 7:19Speaker 4: I don't know what it is, the last eight games
- 7:21Speaker 4: or something like that.
- 7:22Speaker 2: All right, onto this evening, back to back the crack
- 7:25Speaker 2: and starting this at home. Philadelphia Flyers up next, the
- 7:28Speaker 2: mayor of Maple Valley joining us Ian forness.
- 7:30Speaker 3: How are you? How are the holidays my friend?
- 7:32Speaker 7: Great? How about you, Mike? You happy post Christmas? Happy holidays?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it was it was nice that mostly downtime family
- 7:40Speaker 2: and I had a little bit of a getaway as well.
- 7:41Speaker 2: But great, great to have you back once again. Good
- 7:44Speaker 2: to have hockey back.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Also.
- 7:45Speaker 2: It was a short, short layoff here, but this is
- 7:48Speaker 2: the world we live in with the Olympics coming up,
- 7:50Speaker 2: you know, in about a little over two months from now,
- 7:53Speaker 2: so back to back's on the menu now for the
- 7:56Speaker 2: next couple of weeks. And so I kind of go
- 7:57Speaker 2: into this here by thinking after the Kraken left for
- 8:02Speaker 2: the road trip, things were in extremely dire straits, and
- 8:06Speaker 2: then we didn't get to the part of losing Brandon
- 8:09Speaker 2: Montour and then losing Vince Done, and then lo and behold,
- 8:13Speaker 2: they come out and rip off three wins in a row.
- 8:17Speaker 2: It doesn't matter who in California, San Jose, Anaheim, Los Angeles,
- 8:22Speaker 2: and the course is also a shake up in the
- 8:23Speaker 2: middle of this here the Mason March but trade he's
- 8:26Speaker 2: out the door to Columbus. But Maddi Mineirs said a
- 8:30Speaker 2: little before the break that we're building. So there still
- 8:33Speaker 2: seems to be a belief here in this. So a
- 8:36Speaker 2: three game win streak, it is modest, but I think
- 8:39Speaker 2: in the context.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Of this season, what do we make of this?
- 8:43Speaker 7: Eaan I means everything. It was huge because it happens
- 8:46Speaker 7: before the break. You have momentum going into the break,
- 8:49Speaker 7: you know, and I think it was kind of desperate times,
- 8:52Speaker 7: you know, in the midst of what could have been
- 8:55Speaker 7: the worst month in franchise history. I guess I think
- 8:58Speaker 7: they've gotten themselves out of that with three wins in
- 9:01Speaker 7: a row. But you know, with games in hand and
- 9:03Speaker 7: everything else, they're right back in the playoffs. I mean,
- 9:06Speaker 7: they're three points out, but they've got four games in hand,
- 9:09Speaker 7: and on Utah they're in good shape, you know, not
- 9:13Speaker 7: great shape, but they're in a lot. I mean, it's
- 9:15Speaker 7: amazing what three wins does. It's an also amazing how
- 9:17Speaker 7: quick that pad you had at the start of the
- 9:19Speaker 7: season with all the wins disappeared. But I think you know,
- 9:23Speaker 7: the timing was perfect. You go to the break, you
- 9:25Speaker 7: feel good, you have some momentum, looks like you're getting healthier,
- 9:28Speaker 7: so you know, good things all the way around.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Lane Lambert told the media coming out of the holiday break,
- 9:35Speaker 2: Jared mccannon, Vince Don, who are back on ice, we're
- 9:37Speaker 2: looking quote pretty good end quote. Of course there was
- 9:40Speaker 2: an evaluation and to handle with them and we'll see
- 9:43Speaker 2: indeed if they are in the lineup here for tonight.
- 9:46Speaker 2: But you get both them back in my goodness, that
- 9:49Speaker 2: really tips the scales a bit more. But on a
- 9:51Speaker 2: scale of one to ten, you get just say one
- 9:54Speaker 2: of them back, how much does that move the.
- 9:57Speaker 7: Needle quite a bit? I mean, I think the your
- 10:00Speaker 7: thing is is that you needed to have I mean,
- 10:02Speaker 7: look that that winning streak with all the injuries and
- 10:06Speaker 7: then you know, the last game specifically with no Vince
- 10:10Speaker 7: done h and no Brandon mont Tour, with as dependent
- 10:14Speaker 7: and reliant as the Krack and are on, you know,
- 10:16Speaker 7: scoring from the blue line was was remarkable, you know,
- 10:20Speaker 7: And you know, I think a lot of guys got
- 10:22Speaker 7: the mice time, a lot of guys you know, I mean,
- 10:24Speaker 7: Cal Flurry, Josh Mhera, Ryker Evans all stepping up and
- 10:27Speaker 7: and so forth. But you know, if you can get
- 10:30Speaker 7: mccanned back, and I'm just not just getting m cam back,
- 10:32Speaker 7: you need Jared mccamp back, not this year's version which
- 10:35Speaker 7: has been banged out. Now he's put up points when
- 10:37Speaker 7: he's been in there, but you need this guy to
- 10:39Speaker 7: stay healthy for a sustained amount of time. And it
- 10:42Speaker 7: makes a big difference. You know, when Done, you know,
- 10:44Speaker 7: didn't return the other night, and you know there was
- 10:47Speaker 7: concern there. I I mean, I think we're all like,
- 10:50Speaker 7: oh oh, you know, like this is bad. But getting
- 10:54Speaker 7: those guys back as maps up. I mean, you know,
- 10:56Speaker 7: Jeremy cann is your best goal scorer in franchise history period,
- 11:00Speaker 7: best finisher in franchise history period. So getting him back
- 11:04Speaker 7: with a team that is you know, climbed back above
- 11:07Speaker 7: five hundred somehow to these guys when it.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Comes to the fourth line, and this has really entered
- 11:14Speaker 2: the conversation a lot more over the recent couple of weeks.
- 11:19Speaker 3: And I get that.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Some coaches don't want to call it a fourth line,
- 11:22Speaker 2: but hey, let's just call it what it is here.
- 11:24Speaker 2: And they're not getting as much, say, ice time as
- 11:27Speaker 2: the Manny Vanier's line would get, you know, Chandler Stevenson's line, definitely.
- 11:31Speaker 2: But yet when you put a line like that out there,
- 11:35Speaker 2: either with role players, where guys who have been called
- 11:38Speaker 2: up to fill a purpose and they come out with
- 11:42Speaker 2: the level of grit and nastiness that they've come out with,
- 11:46Speaker 2: you're getting a lot of value out of them. And
- 11:49Speaker 2: I'm talking about Ty Carcier, Ben Myers and Jacob Alanson
- 11:53Speaker 2: who stirred the pot and got into the heads of
- 11:55Speaker 2: the Anaheim Ducks the second game before the holiday break,
- 11:59Speaker 2: and then one once again, we're in the faces of
- 12:02Speaker 2: the Los Angeles Kings on the game right before the
- 12:06Speaker 2: holiday break. It seems as if they are hitting everything
- 12:09Speaker 2: that moves. Ty car Chase so far this season forty
- 12:12Speaker 2: seven hits, fifty one block shots, Ben Myers for the
- 12:17Speaker 2: limited exposure. He's had twenty hits already in seventeen games,
- 12:22Speaker 2: and then Jacob Alanson six games, get a load of
- 12:25Speaker 2: this twenty five hits already. I mean, how long is
- 12:30Speaker 2: this line going to stay putty?
- 12:32Speaker 7: And you think, well, you know you were talking about hell.
- 12:36Speaker 7: I mean, something's gonna have to come out of the lineup,
- 12:38Speaker 7: youre soon if it can's back right, so, and Berkeley's back,
- 12:42Speaker 7: you know already, so you know, with those guys back,
- 12:45Speaker 7: there's a little bit more competition. It's you know, in
- 12:48Speaker 7: the bottom six. You know there's gonna be guys getting
- 12:51Speaker 7: pushed down. I mean, I I take away even the
- 12:54Speaker 7: fourth line for a second. Where do you put Freddy Gindro,
- 12:57Speaker 7: who's been really good at the top right right right, So,
- 13:01Speaker 7: I mean you're you're one game about five hundred, so,
- 13:04Speaker 7: I you know, there's very few spots that are safe.
- 13:06Speaker 7: You know, I think done fairly safe and okay in
- 13:09Speaker 7: his role in Veneers and so forth. Everly, but yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 7: I think it's not just the fourth line. The fourth
- 13:14Speaker 7: point has been really effective. I mean, Lane's gone out
- 13:16Speaker 7: of his way to talk about the fourth line a lot,
- 13:19Speaker 7: which you know, rightfully. So they've set a tone, you know,
- 13:22Speaker 7: especially you know Mollanson for a guy that just you know,
- 13:25Speaker 7: hasn't played a lot of hockey at this level. You
- 13:28Speaker 7: see the respect he gets when he's on the ice.
- 13:29Speaker 7: Guys have their heads on a swivel, right, and that's
- 13:32Speaker 7: a that's a big deal. I just I'm just really
- 13:35Speaker 7: curious this guys get healthier, and you get more guys
- 13:37Speaker 7: back in the lineup like I said you had at Berkeley,
- 13:40Speaker 7: you know, and then what happens when McCann comes back,
- 13:42Speaker 7: and obviously Janny Newman has already been kind of in
- 13:45Speaker 7: and out of the lineup. You know what does that
- 13:47Speaker 7: do for you know, O'Ryan Winterton or you know, I
- 13:51Speaker 7: guess that's the interesting thing. Do you mess with that
- 13:55Speaker 7: fourth line or do you look at elsewhere to take
- 14:00Speaker 7: another guy out of lineup when he can comes back.
- 14:02Speaker 3: I don't know, Jannie Newman.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I did want to get to this year before we
- 14:05Speaker 2: get onto the Philadelphia Flyers for a moment, and you know,
- 14:09Speaker 2: we we mentioned his game so much where every time
- 14:13Speaker 2: when the conversation comes up, it is his shot that
- 14:17Speaker 2: comes up, and you're thinking, well, you know, folks listening
- 14:19Speaker 2: here to this, Well, why is he getting more ice
- 14:21Speaker 2: time here? I mean, this team is sputtering for offense.
- 14:24Speaker 2: You got that shot, which is major league. But what
- 14:27Speaker 2: are we learning more about the view of a player's
- 14:29Speaker 2: overall game when it comes to his ice time and
- 14:33Speaker 2: this place in this lineup the end.
- 14:34Speaker 7: I don't know, because I think, you know, I thought
- 14:36Speaker 7: he's playing really good hockey tonight. He gets you know,
- 14:38Speaker 7: he's out on the line for Berkeley gat which is fine.
- 14:40Speaker 7: I mean, I understand because Berkeley's upside is and you know,
- 14:44Speaker 7: his ice vision everything else is great, and you want
- 14:46Speaker 7: to get him back in. But I don't know. I mean,
- 14:48Speaker 7: I thought, I thought Newman's showing a lot more lately
- 14:51Speaker 7: using his size and strength, and again, like a team
- 14:55Speaker 7: that doesn't have a lot of finishers, he finishes. Now,
- 14:58Speaker 7: you know that's he's you know, he's created some you know,
- 15:01Speaker 7: he's done some better things at the fuck. But I
- 15:04Speaker 7: it's obvious that they want more out of him, and
- 15:08Speaker 7: you know he's going to have to earn that ice time.
- 15:10Speaker 7: I wonder if maybe at some point, if this team
- 15:13Speaker 7: ever does get really healthy. You know when I say
- 15:15Speaker 7: really healthy, McCann, Schwartz, you know, both back Cat and
- 15:20Speaker 7: obviously back as well to go down to the Coachella
- 15:23Speaker 7: maybe and try to get some confidence back.
- 15:25Speaker 2: The Philadelphia Flyers under Ricktocket will be coming in here
- 15:28Speaker 2: for their only visit and this will be a mission
- 15:30Speaker 2: to have the Kraken split this head to head series
- 15:33Speaker 2: and the game back in October it was one that
- 15:36Speaker 2: got away because Joey Decor didn't have his best night
- 15:38Speaker 2: and he'll be the first to admit that as well,
- 15:41Speaker 2: but also with a few battles of krack and lost
- 15:43Speaker 2: also at.
- 15:44Speaker 3: The front of the net.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And what's that old phrase Ian We've learned that our
- 15:48Speaker 2: boy ed Zoe loves over and over and over to
- 15:51Speaker 2: use all together now that front presence, that front presence.
- 15:57Speaker 2: That was a Travis Connecty goal he's scored. The Flyers
- 16:00Speaker 2: got a power play goal also through a screen last matchup.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I mean, they're hanging out right now, pretty thick at
- 16:05Speaker 2: the heat of the Metro Division racing, and I think
- 16:07Speaker 2: we know by now the Flyers under Rick Tocket are
- 16:10Speaker 2: going to be in this mix. But things certainly change
- 16:14Speaker 2: when you come out of the holiday break, So you know,
- 16:16Speaker 2: whether you want to think of this maybe as a
- 16:19Speaker 2: goaltending battle versus say, you know who can play less
- 16:22Speaker 2: sloppy hockey and goaltending bails you out? Or a strong
- 16:25Speaker 2: start here to the first period or something else to you?
- 16:28Speaker 2: What are you looking at here for the first period
- 16:29Speaker 2: against Philadelphia coming up here?
- 16:31Speaker 7: I'm just curious how both teams look. I mean, just
- 16:33Speaker 7: watching the games on Saturday night, a lot of sloppy play,
- 16:36Speaker 7: a lot of guys, I mean, defense was kind of
- 16:38Speaker 7: an afterpot, especially like in Toronto for example, in a
- 16:41Speaker 7: couple other games, you know, I mean you wonder if
- 16:45Speaker 7: a team playing at home when having advantage. I either know,
- 16:48Speaker 7: Vancouver got up to a really slow start on Saturday
- 16:50Speaker 7: night at home Againstose. Santa had to travel I remember
- 16:53Speaker 7: you couldn't you can't travel until today or Saturday. I
- 16:57Speaker 7: guess it is. And so like you know, Santos had
- 16:59Speaker 7: to fly day game with NHL players aren't used to
- 17:01Speaker 7: doing so there's a lot of sloppy play going on.
- 17:03Speaker 7: I think, you know, I think that's going to be
- 17:05Speaker 7: a key. Like what you know, who comes back sharp?
- 17:07Speaker 7: Is anybody sharp?
- 17:08Speaker 3: Uh?
- 17:09Speaker 7: You know? In some in some ways you should have
- 17:11Speaker 7: fresh legs because you've had the four days off. But
- 17:14Speaker 7: in some other cases. You know what, let's you know,
- 17:17Speaker 7: the Seatle's got to be a team that plays within
- 17:19Speaker 7: the structure of what Lane Lambert wants, and you know,
- 17:21Speaker 7: any deviation from that, you're you're kind of in trouble
- 17:23Speaker 7: at that point. Uh, you know, Philadelphia is interesting. I mean,
- 17:26Speaker 7: they're above five hundred on the road, They're nine games
- 17:28Speaker 7: above five hundred overall. Andy, I mean, they're they're a
- 17:32Speaker 7: team that that. I mean, I don't know, Mike, Yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 7: I'm maybe one of the better surprises. I don't know
- 17:38Speaker 7: if you call the surprise, but maybe a pretty good
- 17:40Speaker 7: surprise this season. Uh, they score, you know, one hundred
- 17:44Speaker 7: eleven goals this season in thirty six games. And just
- 17:46Speaker 7: for comparison to sake, Seals played thirty six games and
- 17:49Speaker 7: thirty five games and has eighty nine goals, so they
- 17:51Speaker 7: can obviously plit the puck in the net. I think
- 17:54Speaker 7: it's just really important for SCAT to keep the momentum
- 17:56Speaker 7: Philadelphia in a sense, the toughest test coming up in
- 18:00Speaker 7: this little three game homestand if you can, if you
- 18:03Speaker 7: can start off with a win against the Flyers and
- 18:05Speaker 7: then you know, Vancouver, which who knows what you're gonna
- 18:07Speaker 7: see with Vancouver Monday. I mean they're a great road team,
- 18:10Speaker 7: awful home team, the Canucks, right, I mean that's they're
- 18:13Speaker 7: they're they're on the road.
- 18:15Speaker 3: And here's the one thing for me, I think we're
- 18:18Speaker 3: on the road this whole rusher of the Quinn Hughes trade.
- 18:21Speaker 2: They get zee Boo yam in there, they get Liam mulgron,
- 18:24Speaker 2: and now we're going to find out pretty soon how
- 18:25Speaker 2: long this is going to be sustainable.
- 18:27Speaker 7: Yeah, I think so. I think, Like I said, the
- 18:29Speaker 7: weirdest thing with them is that they're they're good on
- 18:31Speaker 7: the road. They're eleven and eight on the road, and
- 18:33Speaker 7: then they're they're you know, six seven games under five
- 18:36Speaker 7: hundred at home. So you know that that's that to
- 18:38Speaker 7: me is if you can get four points out of
- 18:42Speaker 7: those two games to start and then have a couple
- 18:45Speaker 7: of days off before what is it Nashville on Thursday,
- 18:48Speaker 7: if you if you can do that, that's you put
- 18:51Speaker 7: yourself in a pretty good position. You know, like, you
- 18:54Speaker 7: put yourself in a pretty good position where you know,
- 18:56Speaker 7: it didn't look it looks pretty dire after that first
- 18:58Speaker 7: game in the four game road trip for the break.
- 19:00Speaker 7: So if you can get these two games. Boy, all
- 19:02Speaker 7: of a sudden, you're feeling a lot better about yourself.
- 19:04Speaker 3: That's against the Canucks coming up tomorrow night. You've got
- 19:07Speaker 3: the call for that.
- 19:07Speaker 2: On the TV side tonight it's Philadelphia Trevor Zegris, by
- 19:10Speaker 2: the way, nine game point streak. He will carry into
- 19:14Speaker 2: this game with eleven points.
- 19:17Speaker 3: That is going to be a fun test.
- 19:19Speaker 2: The Flyers, by the way, don't give up much as
- 19:22Speaker 2: far as shots on net right now, fifth best in
- 19:24Speaker 2: the NHL at twenty five shots per game. Looking forward
- 19:28Speaker 2: here to it, Mayor, Happy holidays, Happy New Year. By
- 19:32Speaker 2: the way, tomorrow night, have a fantastic call. Looking forward
- 19:36Speaker 2: to seeing you once again around the building, my friend.
- 19:37Speaker 7: Thanks again, Thanks buddy, I appreciate We'll see it the
- 19:40Speaker 7: rink later.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Appreciate you, Mayor and Maple Valley, thank you for joining us.
- 19:44Speaker 2: That's again Finess here with us once again. He's back
- 19:46Speaker 2: on the Cracket Hockey Network TV desk and then sliding
- 19:49Speaker 2: into the play by playchair for Monday against the Vancouver
- 19:53Speaker 2: Canucks again. This is the second and final match up
- 19:55Speaker 2: here of this regular season. Set the crack and looking
- 19:58Speaker 2: to boost their home rerecord, which has been pretty good
- 20:00Speaker 2: against Philadelphia in their franchise history at three to.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Zero and one.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Overall, they carry a five three and one record and
- 20:09Speaker 2: the Kraken carrying some pretty hot hands into this one.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Ellie Tolbnen right now on a five game points streak
- 20:16Speaker 2: needing a goal or an assistant match is longest points
- 20:20Speaker 2: streak of his career, setback in March of twenty twenty one.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Freddie Goodroz also got points in four consecutive games as well.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Wild captain Jordan Eberly has three goals in the last
- 20:32Speaker 2: two games. The Flyers first season underhead coach Rick Tockett
- 20:36Speaker 2: couldn't have gone much smoother so far, with a nineteen
- 20:38Speaker 2: ten and seven record and at forty five points. They
- 20:42Speaker 2: have lost just once in regulation over the course of
- 20:45Speaker 2: the last nine games and have won back to back
- 20:48Speaker 2: games heading into this continued portion of their five game
- 20:52Speaker 2: road trip, previously knocking off the Blackhawks three to one
- 20:55Speaker 2: back on December twenty third. After this, it will be
- 20:58Speaker 2: on to Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton to wrap up their
- 21:03Speaker 2: road trip. In addition to that note, where the Flyers
- 21:06Speaker 2: don't give up much as far as shots on goal,
- 21:08Speaker 2: they're penalty kill right now ranks ninth in the entire NHL,
- 21:12Speaker 2: and they have killed off fourteen of the last sixteen opportunities.
- 21:16Speaker 2: And Trevor Zegris, they're leading scorer who's been on a heater,
- 21:19Speaker 2: he has been historically tough to handle in this head
- 21:22Speaker 2: to head series of Crack in trying to put a
- 21:25Speaker 2: speed bump right now in his run, with Zegris owning
- 21:28Speaker 2: thirteen points in fourteen career games against the Krack and
- 21:32Speaker 2: that is most out of anybody on the Flyers rosters.
- 21:35Speaker 2: So the Krakens certainly have their defensive assignment a pretty
- 21:39Speaker 2: obvious one all lined up here for tonight. Certainly hope
- 21:42Speaker 2: that you can join us here for the first game
- 21:44Speaker 2: out of the holiday break as the Krack can open
- 21:46Speaker 2: up back to back once again the Flyers tonight five
- 21:50Speaker 2: pm Pacific time, the Canucks tomorrow, same place, back on
- 21:54Speaker 2: home ice at seven o'clock Pacific time, and we're on
- 21:56Speaker 2: air half hour before Pug Drop on the Global Credit
- 22:00Speaker 2: Union Cracking Audio Network, with postgame taking you all the
- 22:03Speaker 2: way up to an hour after the final horn, with
- 22:06Speaker 2: of course ever fits you Alkiniski and myself, We certainly
- 22:10Speaker 2: hope that you can join us big thank you once
- 22:12Speaker 2: again to Ian Furness, Happy holidays and for Kracken. This morning,
- 22:15Speaker 2: I Mike Benton and enjoy the game.
