- 0:18Show continues. First off, congratulations on what happened over the weekend, another
- 0:23triple double. Looking ahead Senior Day, I mean, that's gonna be kind
- 0:28of emotional, but you're a guy to me that seems very calm, cool
- 0:33and collected. Do you think that the emotions will start to come out of
- 0:36you a little bit in this game on Sunday against Seaton Hall. No,
- 0:42I don't think so. I mean I did see it seeing it at night
- 0:46last year, so I don't think it will be too emotion enough for me.
- 0:50But you know, last game and Gample, it might hit me out
- 0:53to the game, but you know, before the game, I'm shot.
- 0:55I just be locked down, ready to play and you know, trying to
- 0:58get a win. You're the kind of guy and from what I know of
- 1:00you and talking to you, you're very relaxed before games? Is that accurate
- 1:07when I say that? Are you relaxed before games or are you starting to
- 1:11think about, oh boy, we got a game here. Nah, I
- 1:15sound relaxed. You know, we put in the work and you know I'm
- 1:18well for Paris to go out there and play. So I'm very relaxing,
- 1:22you know, just more so excited than you know than anything, excited and
- 1:26relaxed and just ready to get out there. A lot of people talk about
- 1:30Yukon's practice regiment, how difficult it can be. Uh do you agree that
- 1:36because you practice like you do with this team, that when the game comes,
- 1:40that's the easy part. Yeah. I mean we practice. I feel
- 1:44we prabayed hard than any anything in the country. And you know, we
- 1:47push each other every day. You know, coaches on us and you know
- 1:51when we get when we're in the game, you know, it's just it's
- 1:53a brotherhood and we know we all want the best for each other. We
- 1:56want to win games, and you know coach is always there by side and
- 2:00you know, supporting us, listening us up and making sure that you know
- 2:02we could do anything. We do anything we can do to win the game.
- 2:06So I feel our prices really help us. And and yeah, I
- 2:09like, like I said, we paced harder than any team in the country.
- 2:12So that that's thats us a lot. You are a guy that transferred
- 2:16from East Carolina. We were talking to Dan about the transfer portal. When
- 2:21you went into the transfer portal, what were what were your thoughts, what
- 2:23were you thinking, what did you look for? What were you trying to
- 2:28accomplish when you went in the transfer portal. Yeah, I mean when I
- 2:31went to the portal, I don't want to go anywhere where I could you
- 2:34know, just shoot every shot and you know, be on losing program.
- 2:37And you know, I was tired of losing, and I was looking for
- 2:39a winning program that you know, that was a brotherhood and and and you
- 2:45know had a spot for me. Like I'm not really a catch and shoot
- 2:47too guard. I'm not a you know, I'm not one of those type
- 2:51of players. I wanted to go to a program where I had the ball
- 2:53in my hands with great players around me, and you know, I could
- 2:55play my solid game. Well also you know, some structure and and you
- 2:58know, like I said, when when when coach when coach Commodity called me
- 3:02and I looked up the roster and I saw the U, I saw how
- 3:06they play and stuff. I know, it was very fit. And you
- 3:07know he called me with with the initial thought of you know, going to
- 3:14the final four, and that's that's what I wanted to do. So that's
- 3:16what you know, really drew me here and and the brotherhood that we have
- 3:21here, so that really put it over to talk and Tristan, that's not
- 3:25that easy to accomplish. I mean, you have some experiences obviously on the
- 3:29college a little. You've been playing ball your whole life. Tell me about
- 3:32the difference between having chemistry with the guys you play with now and maybe what
- 3:37you did before. Yeah, I mean with the chemistry and the amount of
- 3:42love that we have for each other, you can you can you can tell
- 3:46your teammate anything. You know, it doesn't matter how to say. You
- 3:47know, it's coming from place of love and he's just trying to do whatever
- 3:51he can of win. So, you know, other places, without that
- 3:53chemistry, you know, people can get sensitive, talk back and all that
- 3:57type of stuff because they don't know where the where the messages coming from.
- 4:00But since you know the message is coming from place of love and you know,
- 4:03just want to see your brother win and uh succeed. It's just it's
- 4:06it's a good it's a good thing to have around here. And you know,
- 4:11since day one I've been I got here, it's just it was always
- 4:13love in a brotherhood and it just it felt like like like home. So
- 4:17just being real comfortable out there with the guys and you know, real comfortable
- 4:21and you know, just present with the guys, it just just makes it
- 4:25makes them easier for us to go out there and win games. Uh,
- 4:29it feels like home as a team. But not in the climate. Right,
- 4:33You're in a place that's way different than what you're used to. Uh,
- 4:38you've been near a while, have you gotten accustomed to what we have
- 4:43for New England weather? Everything besides the snow, the snow is is a
- 4:46little much. You can't drive in the snow, can't walk in the snow,
- 4:50and it's just it's like today it was like sixty degrees and there's still
- 4:54snow on the ground from from last summer snow. So you know, besides,
- 4:58besides the snow, it's it's okay because I can get used to the
- 5:00cold. I can put on a coat and a couple of pair of sweats
- 5:03and some socks and I could do that, but the snow is just too
- 5:08much for me. So I love it here. But everything about the snow
- 5:13is is is good. I got news for you, Tristan. I don't
- 5:17love it either, and we've been living here for our whole lives. Tristan
- 5:23Dune's with Us will be back with more of the Yukon Men's Basketball Coaches Show from Learfield
