- Lucas: Luna, ready for another tiny French lesson? Luna: Always! What are we learning today? Lucas: Today, we're going back to school – with French classroom commands. These are phrases a teacher might say. Luna: Oh, I like that. Useful if you're in a real class, or just pretending. Lucas: Exactly. So, first one: 'Écoutez.' It means 'Listen.' Luna: Écoutez. Lucas: Perfect. Écoutez. Let's try it again. Luna: Écoutez. Lucas: Now, 'Répétez.' That means 'Repeat.' Luna: Répétez. Lucas: Great. So if I say 'Écoutez et répétez' – listen and repeat. Luna: Écoutez et répétez. Lucas: Nice. Next, 'Levez-vous.' – Stand up. Luna: Levez-vous. Lucas: And the opposite, 'Asseyez-vous.' – Sit down. Luna: Asseyez-vous. That's a mouthful. Lucas: It is. But you got it. Let's do a little scene: Imagine I'm the teacher. 'Levez-vous, s'il vous plaît.' Luna: Okay, I'm standing. Then what? Lucas: Now, 'Asseyez-vous.' Luna: Sitting. Got it. Lucas: Last one: 'Ouvrez votre livre.' – Open your book. Luna: Ouvrez votre livre. Lucas: Good. Now let's hear all five in a row. I'll say the English, you say the French. Luna: Challenge accepted. Lucas: Listen. Luna: Écoutez. Lucas: Repeat. Luna: Répétez. Lucas: Stand up. Luna: Levez-vous. Lucas: Sit down. Luna: Asseyez-vous. Lucas: Open your book. Luna: Ouvrez votre livre.
