- 0:28get it? My name is Travis.
- 0:30My name is Jessie and that was my best.
- 0:33Jack Nicholson impression by Christian Slater.
- 0:39That was your best Christian Slater doing Jack Nicholson.
- 0:41Yeah. That's good, right?
- 0:43Always, choose the hardest turns of phrase.
- 0:47You saw me yesterday because I was getting in a loop trying to
- 0:49describe it. Hey girl, Jack Nicholson.
- 0:52Christian Slater, Jack Nicholson, Christian Slater.
- 0:55Something like Jack Nicholson. Something like cushions your
- 0:59brain malfunction? Yeah, I'm not gonna have.
- 1:02I'll be real with myself. I know I do.
- 1:04I do a great one but you know why?
- 1:06He doesn't do a great Jack Nicholson either in my opinion.

- 2:42Yeah, they're fun. I recommend them.
- 2:46They keep you entertained. All right, well, I will go over
- 2:50the pole then. Okay, so we had our episode with
- 2:55pod ledum, everything Halloween, resurrection.
- 2:57So, we have a poll. If you haven't listened to that
- 2:59one yet, please listen to it. It's, I know it's long, but it's
- 3:04great. It's a really good episode and I
- 3:06know everybody has heard me reference probably demand,
- 3:10Auntie Em Plenty of times. Yeah, I am very proud of myself
- 3:14because at one point, Alexander said, conspiracy theory and I
- 3:17stopped myself from going. Do do, do I really wanted to
- 3:20show them like that wasn't. It wouldn't have been
- 3:22professional. Yeah.
- 3:24What a feel of maybe we are. We professionals on this
- 3:27seriously? I don't know, exactly.
- 3:31I think it would have been fine. And they were like, they were
- 3:34awesome. They're really funny.
- 3:35Yeah, there were a lot of fun and they were very they put up
- 3:37with a lot of stuff because we we've been having a lot of
- 3:41storms lately and we were having a lot of Internet issues and
- 3:45they we got disconnected like three separate times and they
- 3:49are, I made sure you're all of it that that wasn't queer in the
- 3:52episode, it all was seamless. All right, pull for Halloween.
- 3:56Resurrection, we discussed for of the endings.
- 3:59So, if you had the original, you had the one with Miles rescuing,
- 4:03Sarah. Yeah.
- 4:05The one with Sarah killing Michael, with an axe to the
- 4:08face, and you have the CSI inning.
- 4:10We just want to know which one you would have preferred.
- 4:13So on Instagram, 57%, one of the original autopsy.
- 4:17Ending cat 14, wanted miles to rescue Sarah, which JW voted for
- 4:23that 10K. And, but, was he voting for that
- 4:27hours? He voting for the one that we
- 4:29rewrote, where it's actually Scott comes in.
- 4:31And that's the secret. I went Scott to rescue her and
- 4:36just be like, what the fuck is happening?
- 4:38She's like, who are you? I'm Ezekiel.
- 4:43Absolutely. That's Samuel.
- 4:45Jackson's character's name in Pulp Fiction, right?
- 4:48Most rules. Oh, he quotes as EQ the Bible.
- 4:52Yeah, that's it. Yeah, I don't know why.
- 4:56I thought that was his name. That's also a cool name though.
- 4:5929% wanted Sarah axing. Michael in the face.
- 5:02Nobody wanted the CSI ending or the secret Sky.
- 5:05Ending the sky ending is like the one in the video game where
- 5:08you do all of the exact heck tricks.
- 5:10It's like in. Yeah, like the secret ending,
- 5:13where it's just Scott up up down down left, right?
- 5:15A b, a b trigger. Yeah.
- 5:17Something along those lines and Twitter 50/50 split on Mi
- 5:21rescuing Sarah and acts to the face, okay.
- 5:27I mean, I've already I think we both made our thoughts clear.
- 5:30We want Scott to, if not Scott than the axe to the face because
- 5:34I think that I also rewrote the X to the face one because it was
- 5:38still Busta Rhymes. Carried her out at the end I
- 5:40want. At him, I want her to carry bust
- 5:42a rhyme out after. Yeah, I just had a lot of
- 5:45rewrite ideas. That was a, that was a good one
- 5:47though. I don't know if you watch them,
- 5:49I posted them all and the Twitter poll.
- 5:51So if anybody does want to watch them, they're all conveniently
- 5:53listed there including the original so but yeah, I think
- 5:57that that one would have been my second but that's it.
- 6:00That's it for the pole. Alright, so we are done with
- 6:03Halloween shit. Let's talk about some high
- 6:05school shit. Oh boy, today, I asked you.
- 6:10Friends to grab my hand and follow me back too.
- 6:18The hit of the 80. Yes.
- 6:21Yes. We should have taken a picture
- 6:23that last night Prime describes it.
- 6:27Can I pull that up here? Hold on.
- 6:28Probably pull this up, and I'm sorry if this increases your
- 6:33edit time, but I think people need to hear them.
- 6:35Yeah, the way because we watch this on Prime, it's no longer on
- 6:38shutter. It's okay.
- 6:39Daddy. You can still watch the just Joe
- 6:44Bob segments on it though. If you're curious for some
- 6:47behind the scenes, Of. You can also stream it on tube.
- 6:50You're Plex, or you can rent it from through Google play or
- 6:52YouTube. All right.
- 6:53How does prime describe this one?
- 6:55Travis Prime says Winona Ryder. Christian Slater and Shannon do
- 6:59Doherty Doherty star in this cruelly, hilarious, dark comedy,
- 7:04which became one of the biggest cult classics of the 80.
- 7:07Listen, I said it last night and I'm gonna say it again.
- 7:10It was 1989, there was only 180 left, you're making a stretch
- 7:15here, that is saving their asses because I mean, I just read that
- 7:19last night I just bursted out laughing and I was like, holy
- 7:21shit, that's amazing. I love it so much.
- 7:24The 80, the 80 I'm going to start referring.
- 7:26It's like, oh, yeah, I love that 80 movies.
- 7:30Like, what what's your favorite? What?
- 7:32Take the top 80 movie. I'm a sucker for the 80, I love.
- 7:37They deem an age for one special?
- 7:42I love the 80. Yeah, I don't know.
- 7:44I didn't watch th one. I see in high school because
- 7:48we're talking about high school shit and VH1 was a very much
- 7:51High School is VH1 and MTV that type of shit.
- 7:55I was not into any of that stuff.
- 7:57I was more into Cartoon Network. You know?
- 8:02Like I watched that was when tonight.
- 8:04I don't like the finger waggle you did to not like the massage
- 8:07guys, at the mall, has Cartoon Network, something like a little
- 8:12Flair to it. Now, this one Toonami was going
- 8:14on and I was getting my I can my high school anime fix.
- 8:19So yeah. Okay this movie was written by
- 8:23Daniel. Waters directed by Michael lemon
- 8:26music by David Newman, starring Wynona Ryder is Veronica.
- 8:29Christian Slater is JD Kim Walker as Heather Chandler,
- 8:33Shannen Doherty, is Heather Duke and Le's stanfalk as other
- 8:38McNamara, I promise I said, fuck not fuck.
- 8:44Okay so it came I'm out March, 31st 1989, do you think this is
- 8:50budget or but could they got some names here?
- 8:54I'm thinking budget. You're wrong.
- 8:57Really? Bug bug.
- 8:58Bug had three million. Wow, only three million.
- 9:01That's a crazy cult classic indeed, because it's gross at
- 9:05the time was only one point 1 million.
- 9:07Wow. However, it currently stands at
- 9:09a 7.2 on IMDb, 7.2 rating. Yeah, I can see that.
- 9:13Okay. I picked with my heart instead
- 9:18of what makes for good comparisons for other other
- 9:23budget movies from this year, the 80?
- 9:26Yeah. Of the ad.
- 9:28I chose to movies that are very much not mainstream.
- 9:35Okay. So June 21st 1989 Society
- 9:41premiered in London. Oh yeah.
- 9:42Because we talked about that and I get very similar vibes.
- 9:46They're both like high school movies, although that one Focus
- 9:50as a while. I was on the high school
- 9:52aspects. Yeah.
- 9:55That had a budget of a bug head of two million, okay?
- 9:59And I could not find any information on box all that's
- 10:02crazy. That that had a lower budget but
- 10:04it was more visually impressive because I had relied a lot more.
- 10:08I mean, you know the shunting and all kinds of other like
- 10:12weirdness it's happening and this one that's article effects.
- 10:14This one has like Bullet shots and an explosion and the
- 10:21explosion is not even on screen. Exactly.
- 10:23Yeah. So I don't know.
- 10:27But Society stands at six point five out of ten and IMDb, that
- 10:31sounds good. That's good.
- 10:32That's a good movie. Yeah, it's go into it with an
- 10:36open mind. Don't read anything about it.
- 10:38We're going to cover that out. Definitely, if you have an
- 10:41appointment, it's body horror. I'm going to throw that out
- 10:44there. That's about as much as I can
- 10:45say without giving anything away.
- 10:47Yeah, I mean read the description.
- 10:49I don't even know if that's like super revealing either, but I
- 10:53don't know, but it's worth a watch.
- 10:55And speaking of classic body, horror movies of the 1980s, we
- 11:02have Ted swell Iron Man. Oh yeah, came out, July 1st.
- 11:061980 Madeline's bug Ted 17,000. Yeah, that one is a really
- 11:12interesting one that I also want to talk about some point.
- 11:14It's a wild movie. Apparently, like he, I got on a
- 11:18little bit of a tangent was getting this information but
- 11:20apparently, he's like, spare TV parts to create some of the
- 11:23like, Iron Man. Uh, facts.
- 11:25Yeah. I mean in that movie is shot in
- 11:28black and white. Yeah, I mean it works to its
- 11:30benefit but it's so visually impressive for something that
- 11:34was made so cheaply. Like that is a really that movie
- 11:38is just bizarre but it hits ya like it, you feel it.
- 11:44And it's another one that I couldn't find the gross for.
- 11:47But I honestly, I felt with these two movies that it was
- 11:50better to just compare budgets to see what they did on their
- 11:52budget. Yeah.
- 11:53And think about how it Compares with others.
- 11:55This one also has a six point nine out of ten on IMDb right
- 11:58now that one if people are rating it and they've watched
- 12:02it. And if you're ever like at the
- 12:04point in your life, where you were looking for that type of
- 12:07movie, you're going to be ready for it.
- 12:09That's kind of how I feel about Society.
- 12:12Yeah, exactly. Yes.
- 12:15Okay tagline only one. Only one.
- 12:19Okay. Best friends.
- 12:21Social trends and occasional murder.
- 12:23I like that. I think that's pretty good.
- 12:25Okay. I wish it would have crossed a
- 12:28little bit a bit snarky. ER, yeah, because it's a very
- 12:33snarky movie. It's a very witty movie.
- 12:35Yeah. But that's not bad.
- 12:36I mean, I'm just, I mean, we just had Halloween resurrection.
- 12:39We actually we've had a lot of Halloween's Here over the past
- 12:42few weeks. So I'm kind of like I have all
- 12:46that. Yeah, how I mean, as a prime
- 12:48example of how not to write a tagline, they're just so bad at
- 12:51it. Yes.
- 12:51I don't understand how it was such a highly revered franchise
- 12:54can be. So So bad at tangle.
- 12:57I know. But they have so many, it's a
- 12:59thing. And that one right there, they
- 13:00had one that I like, that's a. Yeah.
- 13:02They're like, let's not waste any more time on it.
- 13:04Yeah. All right.
- 13:05So I got a lot of my information from the oral history of
- 13:10Heather's. Published on Entertainment.
- 13:12Weekly.com, okay, what's that? I mean who did that?
- 13:17Like they got a bunch of different members of the cast
- 13:21and crew talking about their memories on set.
- 13:24Okay, that's cool. Yeah so we're gonna Rider loves
- 13:26those movie, she watches that whenever it's on screen she gets
- 13:29like she says that it's to the point where she forgets that
- 13:31she's actually in the movie. She's just obsessed with the
- 13:33movie itself. And she almost wasn't even
- 13:36casting it. She was like, their third
- 13:38choice, they weren't really sure that they wanted her, she was
- 13:41just coming off of being Lydia on Beetlejuice, and she had that
- 13:44like bluish black hair and so she went to Macy's and got a
- 13:49makeover to make her more convincing as her own defense
- 13:51lawyer. The very first line that Daniel
- 13:54Rodriguez wrote was you can't use that knife.
- 13:58It's filthy, that was a very first one.
- 14:00The very first line of the script he wrote.
- 14:02What when does that happen in the movie near the end when JD
- 14:07is going to kill Heather Duke? Okay, I remember that now.
- 14:12Yeah, so he wrote this because at the time Plano Texas had been
- 14:18declared like the teen suicide capital of the country which
- 14:21what a bummer. Our statistic.
- 14:23Yeah, where he's from. I don't, I'm assuming remember,
- 14:26maybe not. But he just, he said that he saw
- 14:29all of these different documentaries, about teenage
- 14:31suicide and that, in a way, it kind of romanticized, everything
- 14:36and had everybody talking about the names of these teens.
- 14:40Yeah. And he was like, does nobody see
- 14:42any kind of irony in that at all?
- 14:45So he took that and then he thought about all the John
- 14:48Hughes movies that are going on and he was like What if we had a
- 14:50John Hughes movie but written And directed by Stanley Kubrick.
- 14:54And that was the kind of vibe he was going for.
- 14:56See, I hear the name John Hughes but I don't know what Pretty
- 15:01Pretty in Pink. Okay, Sixteen Candles.
- 15:05I'm not familiar with any of those.
- 15:07Yeah, I know. But yeah, that's okay.
- 15:09Yeah sure. Stanley Kubrick is strong.
- 15:12I remember why. I mean we had like the just just
- 15:14Joe Bob thing on just so we can have like a little bit of stuff.
- 15:17Yeah and I mean this guy they said that this guy is like what
- 15:2021 when he wrote this. This right?
- 15:23I was like this is really just want to twenties and I'm
- 15:27assuming he didn't have anything done beforehand.
- 15:30So he's like going out strong at the gate like yeah.
- 15:33Stanley Kubrick is going to direct this movie.
- 15:35Like this guy is like an intense director.
- 15:37Whose I think by this point, has like established himself very
- 15:42well in Hollywood. Well, I don't think he would
- 15:45have put up with Shannen Doherty shit.
- 15:47Why? Well, Recollections of her are
- 15:51mixed. Which one is she?
- 15:53Heather Duke. See.
- 15:55Okay. They're all named Heather in
- 15:58this movie and I second-in-command.
- 16:01Okay, I just have them as a, in my nose.
- 16:04I just like real, like, are Hy H + GH, but kind of good Hank, you
- 16:09know, like from King of the Hill, but like, you know, green
- 16:11leather, yellow leather red, Heather, green, Heather, yellow
- 16:14leather? Yeah.
- 16:18Okay. So yeah, I did.
- 16:19Heather, Heather to another three.
- 16:21Okay, so GH was a Pain in the ass.
- 16:25Yeah, so she she's like a child star.
- 16:28She did Little House on the Prairie issues.
- 16:30Apparently risen, a very conservative household had a lot
- 16:34of trouble with the language on this set.
- 16:36At one point, she was supposed to reuse Heather Chandler's,
- 16:39fuck me. Gently with a chainsaw line and
- 16:42she wouldn't say it, she has to say it why I agreed to do this
- 16:44movie then because I mean this is on paper, this movie is like
- 16:49Well everybody's pretty sure that she did not realize what
- 16:52kind of maybe this was really. Yeah.
- 16:54I can interviews like nowadays, she's like, oh yeah, it's such a
- 16:56great movie. I'm super proud of it.
- 16:58Super funny black comedy, but like, at the time, like, she's
- 17:01took herself very, very seriously and she like super
- 17:05stuck up now still, I don't know.
- 17:08I really don't know a lot about her.
- 17:09I don't really watch anything else is too dirty in it so I
- 17:13don't know. Yeah, but yeah.
- 17:15So cast member reception to her was a little bit like, you know,
- 17:20Wynonna was very kind to her in. This interview and and like well
- 17:25yeah, of course, she's going to say nowadays but she thinks it's
- 17:28really funny. She doesn't want to look like an
- 17:29idiot. She's got the movie.
- 17:32I'm paraphrasing a little bit, but that response.
- 17:35Yeah. And Kerry Lynn who plays Martha
- 17:38done stock. It was just like, you know, how
- 17:41sometimes you get a paper cut and people squeeze lemon into it
- 17:43and it really hurts. Shannen Doherty is the Lemon.
- 17:46Wow. Yeah, and people don't know.
- 17:48I heard. Yeah.
- 17:49So I don't think Stanley Kubrick would have put up with her shit.
- 17:52No, it's silly humor quitter. Like ruined her life from y, all
- 17:57have heard of him as a director. He would have.
- 17:59Definitely, she probably would have been in the movie and I
- 18:03wasn't quite done with my Wynona Ryder thoughts, but let me
- 18:06finish up my Shannen Doherty stuff real quick while we're
- 18:08here. Okay, they originally wanted her
- 18:10to be blond and she has very dark hair naturally and she's
- 18:13not going. Blond would have damaged it too
- 18:15much, they settled on red, which kind of works out perfectly
- 18:18since she takes over Heather Chandler's role and Heather
- 18:21Chandler is meant to be read as her hair red.
- 18:24Yes, Brown and me. It's a reddish brown.
- 18:26It's like an Auburn. Okay, I did not see any red at
- 18:29all. Okay, they ended up being really
- 18:31glad that they cast Wynona Ryder.
- 18:35They said that she brought do it.
- 18:37I said, yeah, I'm sure yeah. They said she brought a lot of
- 18:40maturity and intellect to the role.
- 18:42He said the way Veronica Sawyer was it originally written.
- 18:46She was more evil and we're like a Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver,
- 18:51really? I don't know how you see that
- 18:52and he said that she She became more of an audience surrogate in
- 18:57her portrayal of Veronica, okay? When they first first had the
- 19:03script and they were trying to get it to a studio and
- 19:06everything, the production phase and all that, they did an
- 19:08informal read through with Dana Delany and Brad Pitt.
- 19:14Oh, because he was going to be JD, right?
- 19:16You know he just did a read-through.
- 19:18Oh, just for the hell yeah. Okay.
- 19:21Yeah. So they wanted a heather gray.
- 19:24I'm for Heather Chandler, but her parents, absolutely refused.
- 19:27They worked very hard, to try, and convince her parents that
- 19:30the they weren't satanic and it wasn't a satanic movie, but they
- 19:33weren't buying it. Kent Walker, was dating,
- 19:35Christian Slater at the time and they were like, well, she
- 19:37doesn't have a lot of experience, but we can try.
- 19:39So, Heather Graham's parents were super protective and then
- 19:42she went on to make the movies that she did.
- 19:45So, okay, let's see. Kerry Lynn at the time was doing
- 19:49stand-up Carolyn. He does Martha done stock.
- 19:51She was, they wanted to Find somebody who I'm just going to
- 19:56who's fat. Yeah.
- 19:58They kept bringing in actresses who were like a little bit
- 20:01chubby but they were just like this isn't, this isn't how this
- 20:05character needs to be and Kerry. Lynn was like I'm pretty sure I
- 20:07came out of the womb obese like she was like, and those were her
- 20:10exact words. She was like, I understand what
- 20:11it's like to be made fun of it's like, where else are you gonna
- 20:14find a 400-pound comedian to come in and comedians have thick
- 20:18skin? Yeah, I guess I'm do that.
- 20:21I've always wondered about that. Like, when with movies, like If
- 20:24your cast to be that person, like, how does that feel?
- 20:27You know, I can't be good. Yeah, I guess she, it sounds
- 20:31like she embraced it. At least, that's good for her at
- 20:33least. Yeah, they shot this in 33 days.
- 20:39They the line. Fuck me gently with a chainsaw.
- 20:42Is actually a line that he borrowed from a friend who used
- 20:45to say, fuck me gently with a crowbar, but he thought crowbar
- 20:48was too masculine. And Chainsaw was more feminine.
- 20:51What I do? That doesn't make any sense.
- 20:57But okay. Basically, that's a weird line,
- 20:59though. He also had a couple other
- 21:01planned endings one. That the studio absolutely would
- 21:05not allow him to do is that JD succeeds and blowing up the
- 21:07whole school, everybody dies and they have prom in heaven.
- 21:11I kind of like that. yeah, I don't know because it I feel
- 21:20like this ending the one that we get, ya is a Bleeker but also
- 21:29more grounded in the reality of the movie.
- 21:33Is this one, is this a bleak ending that we get?
- 21:35Because, I mean, the guy that wants to kill everybody, blows
- 21:40up all by himself and Veronica goes and just takes away the
- 21:44power, from Green, Heather, and goes and becomes friends with
- 21:49Martha. It does like some six spins
- 21:51around Veronica along the way and then it's like, whoa, we're
- 21:55not quite there yet. So here's the other ending but
- 21:59he said he wished he'd had the ability for the courage or
- 22:04whatever to do. I don't remember exactly.
- 22:06I listed it but at the end when Veronica asked her if she wants
- 22:10to go hang out or whatever, that Martha stabs her in the stomach
- 22:15and says fuck you Heather and then Veronica's rolling around
- 22:18on the ground saying I'm not Heather.
- 22:20Either that would have been awesome actually.
- 22:23Yeah, I really like that ending Dan.
- 22:25They should have done that. So one, other fun fact, how do
- 22:31you I'm sorry. How do you go for you?
- 22:34Go in the opposite direction. Like, instead of her like
- 22:38zapping, you're the guy. She like, gets on her little
- 22:40scooter and it's just like doing doughnuts around Veronica like I
- 22:43don't know. Okay.
- 22:45They're becoming best friends are gonna go watch some movies
- 22:47together. Yeah they're gonna go read the
- 22:49new releases. Yeah.
- 22:50Okay. This sorry it's just weird.
- 22:52That that's it. They went the complete opposite
- 22:54direction with it. So Daniel waters, no relation to
- 22:58John Waters. Okay, by the way.
- 23:00But he does have a brother Mark Waters.
- 23:03You want to know a very well-known movie that Mark
- 23:07waters, went on to direct. Yeah, Mean Girls.
- 23:12Really super influence. Yeah.
- 23:16Yeah. I could see that.
- 23:18Yeah. So I think that's kind of,
- 23:20that's it. Fun little tiny because
- 23:21everybody always says like Mean, Girls wouldn't exist without
- 23:23Heather's. Yeah.
- 23:25And it probably wouldn't, but, and Daniel waters is very much.
- 23:30He's like, Not for nothing. I mean they do have some dark
- 23:34humor in the but it's a lot more in the John Hughes world than
- 23:38the Mean Girls. Yeah.
- 23:39Yeah it's not as like fucked up. Yeah.
- 23:43Yeah. So those are all my fun facts
- 23:46mostly because I ran out of space on my sheet of paper but I
- 23:49really love this movie and I'm very excited to talk about it.
- 23:54Okay, what is your rating Travis?
- 23:57All right. I think that I would give this
- 24:00one an 8 and a half eight Yeah, because I do think it is a very
- 24:03good movie. It's is an interesting.
- 24:08It's an interesting look into like high school, I guess and
- 24:11just all that stuff and suicide. Because the the way that they
- 24:16talk about that, like I mean it was a sensitive subject but like
- 24:19they're not wrong. Like when people glorify these
- 24:21things like it, just kind of encourages people to do it
- 24:24themselves and I kind of like them.
- 24:27You can't get the Nuance required to seriously, talk
- 24:30about suicide. In a, 30-second news clip.
- 24:33I like the characters even though Christian Slater's doing
- 24:39a Jack Nicholson impression the entire time, I kind of like him
- 24:43and Veronica's Dynamic throughout the entire thing,
- 24:47which Wynona Ryder had a huge crush on him.
- 24:49Oh really. Yes.
- 24:50I think that helped with some of the chemistry.
- 24:52Yeah. Because they did a great job
- 24:53together. It was just a lot of fun.
- 24:55So yeah in half. I like it a lot.
- 24:58This should come as no surprise to you but um yeah.
- 25:01It's a 10 out of 10. Yeah, no notes.
- 25:05Oh yeah, okay. I mean, I remember you, you were
- 25:09wanting the watch, this one with me at some point and then they
- 25:13covered it on Jo Bob, it's like, oh okay.
- 25:15We're just going to do this now. So, yeah.
- 25:18I've been trying to convince you to watch it and I didn't have
- 25:21liked a good way of explaining it.
- 25:22So it was like, I never really sold you on it on my own.
- 25:28It's one of those ones that you just kind of have to jump into.
- 25:30Yeah. And it's another one of those
- 25:33ones where you're like Is it whore?
- 25:36Kind of this some horrifying subject, it's very dark, very
- 25:42dark black humor for water. What of murdering in this?
- 25:46A lot of killing but it tone-wise, it doesn't come
- 25:52across as one. But, you know, it is close
- 25:56enough. I mean, you know, it's, it's one
- 25:59of those that allow it. Yeah, exactly.
- 26:01Because like yeah, I mean whatever.
- 26:03Yeah. And I really do like the because
- 26:06it should be something that is like horrifying to watch because
- 26:10they just talk about suicide. So relentlessly.
- 26:13Yeah, it it's so obviously satire that like you get what
- 26:21they're actually saying. It's not condoning suicide but
- 26:24it's more. It's a condemnation of society.
- 26:29Yeah. I mean especially like with like
- 26:32the song like they have people like riding like hit like pop
- 26:35songs. Abouts teenage suicide.
- 26:37Don't do it. Yeah.
- 26:37Exactly. Like it's just making fun of it.
- 26:40Yeah. All right.
- 26:41So what's our score 9.5 9.25 starting average.
- 26:46Cabbage is very good. Okay, I almost did that in my
- 26:48head. You did, you did really good.
- 26:52That was wrong, you were wrong, but that's okay.
- 26:54Thanks your, you know, I was doing the best.
- 26:58Yeah, flyball Titan. Okay.
- 27:03We start off, slow motion pan through a garden as que sera
- 27:09Blaze, and we see three young. Ladies.
- 27:12Stand up and walk in unison and they hit their Coke.
- 27:16Okay, balls. And they're all dressed in
- 27:18colors that match their croquet balls and ballots.
- 27:23I know dick about croquet what I know about croquet comes from
- 27:28this movie and Disney's Alice in Wonderland, that's it.
- 27:32I had a croquet set as a kid growing up and I didn't really
- 27:36know how to play. I was just like, hit it through
- 27:38the Hoops. So that's just all I did was
- 27:40just like, all right, I did, I hit it through the who I feel
- 27:43like there's deeper Like commentary that's happening in
- 27:48the croquet games. If you are familiar with
- 27:50croquet, possibly, I mean, isn't it just kind of like just to
- 27:55show status, just like how they are.
- 27:58I don't know. Like, I mean, normal people
- 28:00don't really play croquet. Mmm.
- 28:02So essentially it's worth mentioning that this movie takes
- 28:06place in Sherwood. Oh, Ohio.
- 28:08Yeah, very Midwest, which I think is the perfect place for
- 28:13this too. Happen.
- 28:16Yeah. What movie was it there there
- 28:18were talking about. So, this one's at prom also
- 28:21happens to have covered Heather's recently, and they
- 28:25kept comparing it to some other movie.
- 28:27And I can't remember what it was.
- 28:29No another movie similar premise, but it takes place in
- 28:32La and they're like, it's just a lot harder to relate to that,
- 28:35because a lot of people don't live in cities.
- 28:37Like La. They you know the general
- 28:40population is going to be a lot more familiar with a town like
- 28:42Sherwood. Oh Ohio, yeah.
- 28:45I definitely feel that because I mean they have like you know,
- 28:48it's rural kind of but still I mean, just small town.
- 28:54Yeah, type stuff. Yeah.
- 28:55Yeah so they're playing and then we see like Veronica's head like
- 29:02she's buried in the ground and they're hitting the croquet
- 29:04balls at her head. That was weird watching that for
- 29:06the first time because I'm like oh okay, like like is this real?
- 29:11But this is a dream, right? I think so she's like writing in
- 29:16her diary so we got a lot of VoiceOver narration from
- 29:19Veronica throughout this movie where she's writing in her
- 29:21diary. Yeah, we see her in the school
- 29:25hallway, like writing in her diary and Heather duke or H2 in
- 29:33my notes or GH in yours. Yeah, the green Heather.
- 29:38Yeah. So we'll go ahead and cover the
- 29:41colors right now. Real quick.
- 29:42Okay, so Heather Chandler. Head, Heather.
- 29:45She is red. She's always red, that's her
- 29:47color. It's she's got her big red
- 29:50scrunchie. It's, it's a status thing for
- 29:52her. Yeah.
- 29:53We've got Heather Duke, who's Green, Green With Envy, and then
- 30:01we've got Heather McNamara, yellow cowardly, yes.
- 30:04Okay. And then we've got Veronica
- 30:07who's black and blue? Was that supposed to symbolize?
- 30:11What does blue, symbolize something?
- 30:12Because I know Red Power. I think it's more, like, her
- 30:15being bullied around when she saw black and blue.
- 30:19Okay, that's how I interpret it. But yeah, well, if you need
- 30:23anything to like a company, this help you.
- 30:26Just think of the Powerpuff Girls, dude, do you think this
- 30:30is what I did? I mean, I mean, red, I mean,
- 30:33yellow is Princess, you know, the random one that tries to be
- 30:37a Powerpuff girl, but you get the red green blue and yellow.
- 30:41So yeah, so Heather Duke comes up and I was like, Heather
- 30:50Chandler. Need you to come to the cafe
- 30:52thick. So they all just call each other
- 30:53Heather. Yeah.
- 30:55Which is what makes it kind of confusing.
- 30:57Yeah. Greg.
- 30:58There's no distinguishing who is who by dialogue, but I love it
- 31:04because they say it like completely straight faced.
- 31:07No hint of irony in it at all, when they're talking to each
- 31:10other, and it's fun. Do you think that this formed
- 31:12because that they were all named Heather or did it just kind of
- 31:16like Happen. I think it just kind of happened
- 31:18because they did bring Veronica into the group.
- 31:20Yeah, and I don't understand why she is part of this group
- 31:23because she is it's worth another Chandler.
- 31:29Picked her, for whatever reason, she invited her into the click.
- 31:32But she just doesn't really, I mean, it is so clear in this
- 31:36movie that she doesn't really gel with them, but like, there's
- 31:38just none of them liked each other.
- 31:40Yeah, I know. But like, Veronica is one of
- 31:42those that you would think, would not be in.
- 31:46Influenced by these people like she's supposed to be this really
- 31:49smart person, but maybe it's just like everybody caves to
- 31:53like the peer pressure of like, you know, I want to stuff in
- 31:56high school. You always say you're not going
- 31:58to be that type of person but then when the opportunity comes,
- 32:00it's hard. Not to yeah.
- 32:03Steve. Yeah.
- 32:06So Heather Chandler. Needs Veronica to forge.
- 32:09A note to Martha done stock who they call Martha dumptruck.
- 32:12Yeah. Saying it's from Kurt and that
- 32:14he's got a crush on her and she's like, Be funny because
- 32:17Veronica can copy. Basically, everybody's
- 32:19handwriting. Yeah.
- 32:20So they end up dropping that on her tray at then they have to do
- 32:25their lunchtime. Poll the lunchtime poll.
- 32:27By the way, is you are word award awarded you're given five
- 32:34million over 5 million Publishers Clearing House.
- 32:36Yes, they God gives a check and Aliens happen to win and say
- 32:43that they're going to blow up the world in two days.
- 32:45What would you do? Yeah, so there we cut to a bunch
- 32:48of different people answering it.
- 32:49It's a bit of an argument between Heather and Veronica for
- 32:53a minute because she's like, why can't we ever talked to other
- 32:55groups of people and Heather's like, you know?
- 32:59Yeah, so she's only pulling like a certain.
- 33:01Yeah, people. Yeah, yeah.
- 33:04And like, at one point, we see Veronica stops duck to Betty.
- 33:06Finn, it's like sorry. I missed your birthday party and
- 33:09Betty was like, yeah, I found some old photos of us together
- 33:12so you can see that she like kind of ditched her old friends.
- 33:16She joined the click. Yeah, and Betty is Molly from
- 33:19sleep-wake. Yeah, Renee Estevez.
- 33:20Yeah, I was super shocked Somali.
- 33:23Yeah, it's cool. I go, I like her character in
- 33:25this suit. Yeah, it's a good job.
- 33:28So then they end up going around asking other people.
- 33:31The question when we get, like this Montage of different
- 33:34answers and I want to see my favorite one is the guy that was
- 33:37talking about getting a remote control bomb and sticking it up
- 33:41a lion's. But from the zoo and then he
- 33:43pulls the line up and then they just chill in heaven.
- 33:45I want to hear more. Yeah, that one is just kind of
- 33:49like put in there and Snippets. Yeah.
- 33:54Martha at this point has gone over to Kurt shows him the note
- 33:58and she gets embarrassed already laughs her and she runs off and
- 34:01just it doesn't feel good and Veronica.
- 34:04Clearly doesn't feel good about it and Heather's like you wanted
- 34:07to be a part of the most powerful, click at Westerberg.
- 34:10Hi. You used to have a sense of
- 34:12humor so it also makes me think that maybe Veronica was a little
- 34:15bit more kids a see in the beginning.
- 34:17Yeah and she's kind of like coming around now but also
- 34:19during all of this to she has made eye contact with Jason Dean
- 34:24who is Christian Slater's character, he's in the corner,
- 34:26he just kind of like silently judging the entire time.
- 34:29It's kind of given like Christian Slater looks, that's
- 34:31the best way I can describe their kind of I fucking each
- 34:34other. They are.
- 34:35Yeah. He's like super into her and
- 34:37she's, you know, definitely given it back but then he sees
- 34:40that and then he just kind of like tosses his hands up.
- 34:42Like, why the fuck would you do that?
- 34:43Hmm, we see them in the bathroom and we have this whole bit where
- 34:48Veronica is helping Heather Duke, throw her food back up,
- 34:51Heather Duke puke. There's and bulimia.
- 34:54So 1987 Heather. She's like, come on.
- 34:58Let's go ahead. Let's see today's lunch again
- 35:00and then it's a beautiful cut back to the cafeteria of the
- 35:03trays being straight into the trash.
- 35:05Can at this point, Veronica goes over to ask JD the lunchtime
- 35:11poll and it's worth noting that curtain Ram who are two
- 35:15homophobic douche jogs. Yeah, and the homophobia is like
- 35:18very important to their storyline.
- 35:20They had been talking about wanting to get a Heather
- 35:23Veronica sandwich. Yeah, the very objectifying
- 35:27conversation and they see Veronica and JD flirting.
- 35:30And then they get mad and they go over to confront him but not
- 35:34before slamming about twenty four cartons of carnation milk.
- 35:39You should not every psychos. Yes, exactly.
- 35:44Exactly. The checks out one.
- 35:46Yes, like, literally, I can't, it kills me every time I watch.
- 35:52I forget. How much milk is on the table
- 35:55until it cuts to them about, to go over and threaten JD?
- 35:59And then I'm a why is there so much God?
- 36:01That that is like a week's worth of a cow's milk production right
- 36:05there? I can't these guys love cows.
- 36:08We see some more cow action later on in the movie.
- 36:10I don't know. I want to see them when they're
- 36:12tipping. The cows lie.
- 36:13Also just legs. Oh, man, we got again.
- 36:25Nice, little fucked up. Big story going on for them
- 36:27here. I'm loving it anyway.
- 36:30JD is not intimidated by them, and he actually pulls out a gun
- 36:34and starts firing, but we find out in a cut to the next scene
- 36:38that it was blanks. That scene.
- 36:39When it first happened, I remember, I like was, yeah,
- 36:43right there. Travis, you were what?
- 36:45Yeah, what the fuck. Like, he just pulls out a gun.
- 36:48Just a boom. Boom.
- 36:49Like right away. Like this is how we're starting
- 36:51the movie honestly. I I mean, I like that as a fake
- 36:54out, but like just having that happen right there to would have
- 36:57been like holy shit. Okay.
- 36:58We're in for a ride and I still get that since with that right
- 37:01there too. I guess it's a way to like, keep
- 37:04you like into it. So, here's something that I
- 37:08learned about croquet. Apparently, if you do a thing, a
- 37:12certain way, you can either take two shots or you can take
- 37:15somebody else out. I don't know what it means to
- 37:17take somebody out. I'm just going based off of the
- 37:19dialogue and Heather Duke asked, Heather.
- 37:23Chandler. She's gonna take the two shots
- 37:25or get her out. Heather Chandler was like, don't
- 37:27you ever think and then she knocks her croquet ball way on
- 37:31the other side of the fountain because the Sawyer's are fucking
- 37:35loaded. Yeah.
- 37:37This is Veronica's house. Yeah.
- 37:39And then Heather Duke makes a really impressive trick shot.
- 37:43You're kind of like okay cool. Good for you girl and then
- 37:46Heather Chandler immediately takes her back out.
- 37:49This is it's also Ralph. Yeah.
- 37:52Um it's Dinnertime. So Veronica's parents ask about
- 37:55prom and dad is like, why do I read these goddamn spy novels?
- 38:01This is because you're an idiot goes.
- 38:02Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I love their Dynamic.
- 38:06Yeah, time that they have these little conversation so it feels
- 38:09like almost like home life. For her is Purgatory because
- 38:13like every time, they like convene, right here at this
- 38:15table and they have basically the same conversation over and
- 38:18over again because he has the same thing with cigarettes later
- 38:20on too. Yeah.
- 38:21And the mom every single times like you, You too.
- 38:25Like, I don't know if that's supposed to mean anything, but I
- 38:28enjoy watching it because I just like the daggone.
- 38:30Oh yeah, you're right. I am an idiot.
- 38:32Hey, like honestly, he's got some standout lines on this.
- 38:36Maybe I think the favorite of mine is I don't patronize
- 38:39bunnies. Yeah, yeah, that is one of the
- 38:43best characters even though he's barely in it.
- 38:47She says great Pattaya mom but I got a motor if I'm gonna make
- 38:51that party which again Again is a line that she will use again,
- 38:54and again. Hmm, she's that's like mine,
- 38:57like I got to Mosey. Let's Mosey and I'm, he's not
- 39:03exaggerating folks, he really does.
- 39:04Say let's Mosey most of the time, it's a good one.
- 39:10So Heather is taking Veronica's in her first Remington parties.
- 39:14It's a college party. She apparently is like a big
- 39:18rite of passage and the Heather's click.
- 39:20Oh, and another gross thing that Row row, row vent to this.
- 39:25It's like back when they were playing croquet, they were
- 39:29talking about Veronica. Mike kind of showing interest in
- 39:33JD and there I thought you said you were done with high school
- 39:36guys so I don't know. They're like I mean they're high
- 39:40schoolers and they're like all are they all like dating college
- 39:44kids or something? Because like I know Heather like
- 39:46the red Heather. She's got this party going
- 39:49because she's dating a college guy like, which is gross to
- 39:52think. About.
- 39:57So here's the thing. Heather Chandler is very
- 40:00self-aware. She she understands her social
- 40:04status. Yeah, she's like I'm a junior
- 40:06and I've already got this much power.
- 40:07Everybody either wants to be my friend or they want to fuck me.
- 40:10Yeah, yeah. Like she knows exactly what game
- 40:13she's playing. And she's decided that she, you
- 40:16know, there's some people that are like really built for like
- 40:19corporate business life or whatever.
- 40:20Some people are really driven enough to be a doctor.
- 40:24Like, I feel like it takes a certain type of person to be a
- 40:26Type of way and she is the type of person that can handle what
- 40:30it takes to be mega-popular. Yeah, I guess.
- 40:34Yeah. So I don't know.
- 40:37I feel like Veronica. Only said that she doesn't like
- 40:41high school guys because you know, we see dum-dums like
- 40:45curtain RAM and she just doesn't want to be hooked up with them.
- 40:47Yeah. But they're like normal people
- 40:49to like well I don't really know who I was, we gotta get creepy
- 40:54Pete, that lies about having gone on dates with.
- 40:56Heather, after she dies. Oh yeah, that's weird.
- 40:59But like, I mean, I guess we don't really aside from my
- 41:02current, and what's the other two?
- 41:04Same ram ram. Like we don't really meet any of
- 41:09the other dudes aside from JD, like none of them, get flushed
- 41:13out, I guess you should say it. But I don't, I can also see her
- 41:16trying to like, you know, not being tired of people like that
- 41:20too. Or she's also just trying to
- 41:22conform with the group, she's in.
- 41:24Yeah. So They stopped at a gas station
- 41:27on the way to the party Heller wants coordinates coordinates.
- 41:32What's the deal of corn? But they're not cool and they're
- 41:36not sir. We got into a little Seinfeld
- 41:39bit whenever we were watching this last night and I don't know
- 41:42what happened. Remember, how Seinfeld came up
- 41:45but we just started doing it because I was doing ocean.
- 41:48I was doing my Christian Slater, doing Jack Nicholson and
- 41:53pressuring sounded like Jerry Seinfeld.
- 41:57What's the deal with coordinates?
- 42:02So while she's at the gas station, she sees JD they talked
- 42:05for a little bit and they they kind of bonded over the fact
- 42:10that they both hate Veronica's friend group.
- 42:13She's like it's like it's like they're people that I work with
- 42:15in our job is to be popular. Which I mean from the way that
- 42:18they are doing it they are kind of treating it like it's so job.
- 42:22Yeah. So I ramming Tintin, we get All
- 42:26this through flash, like bits of flashbacks as Veronica's writing
- 42:30in her diary and what we're getting from the diary is that
- 42:34she wishes. Heather Chandler was dead.
- 42:36She wants to take her out and she was like and I know
- 42:39tomorrow, I will be kissing her ass but tonight I just want to
- 42:42dream of a world without Heather Chandler.
- 42:44Yeah. So it happen.
- 42:45The Remington party is that these guys are gross.
- 42:49Yep. It's red.
- 42:51Heather's boyfriend. Who I guess?
- 42:54They were like oh yeah. We'll bring Veronica.
- 42:56She would totally like, get with you.
- 42:59Yeah. I try and arrange that, and this
- 43:04guy's a line, whenever he's trying to talk to her, he's
- 43:07like, he's bad at flirting. He's like, yeah, it's so nice,
- 43:10not to just ask what your major is.
- 43:12So what do you think? We majoring in, what do you
- 43:15think you're going to stay with the college?
- 43:16Oh yeah, this guy's a loser. Yeah, so is Heather's boyfriend
- 43:21because like he's me like babe, I'm so horny and then like
- 43:25pushes her face down into his dick.
- 43:27Yeah, that's gross. But I think it's hilarious that
- 43:30like it, the camera. I slowly pans up and it's like
- 43:32that picture of the guy in the chair getting like Blown Away by
- 43:35like the music or whatever. I'm like, this is my blowjob
- 43:38chair and it blows own is gross, but I can see this guy being
- 43:46like they have this were again them and then his friend comes
- 43:50to Veronica and he was like, hey, baby, how about some fuck?
- 43:54And she's like, I've got a little speech reserved for my
- 43:57suitors when they want to go farther than I'm comfortable
- 44:00which like calm down. You know, remember how I said
- 44:03Lydia was like way too dramatic and trying too hard to
- 44:05Beetlejuice. You know, I'm girl, maybe maybe
- 44:09is just a Winona Ryder thing. Like, people like, can't get her
- 44:12to tone it down like Jesus, like play your character.
- 44:15Well, we're off Wynonna. You're lying.
- 44:18Here is just know. She's like, who the fuck told
- 44:22her about a speech? What the hell is this coming
- 44:26from? But the guy just like, he's
- 44:28like, I'm not even listening and she was like, you don't deserve
- 44:31my fucking speech, which I do like that.
- 44:33Well, okay. This guy sucks but he's like, I
- 44:35just want to get laid and then he gives himself.
- 44:37To tell me paths and tell me pads.
- 44:41Are they get everything across perfectly?
- 44:44Because it's like, oh, okay. He's just, he really is here,
- 44:47just to get sex and that's it. I'm never going to be able to
- 44:51play Mario Party saying he doesn't care about your speech.
- 45:07And before all of this happened to she she was kind of like
- 45:11hanging out in their room by herself and she like whites of
- 45:13drink on fire and just tosses it out into a trash can out the
- 45:15window. Yeah.
- 45:16Was she trying to like look for an excuse to get out by like
- 45:19starting a fire? Which would you like fucking
- 45:21around? Like she's just fucking around.
- 45:22Okay. I thought she was trying to like
- 45:23stage something so but afterwards she goes and she
- 45:26finds Heather and she's like I really don't feel good.
- 45:28I need to leave and he's like no, you should.
- 45:31You should be so lucky to be here at this party and then
- 45:34Veronica throws up everywhere. and they go out in the alley and
- 45:39they're fighting and Veronica's like She's a she's saying some
- 45:44pretty dangerous things so somebody that she's in theory
- 45:49afraid of I just like how she's a you vomited on my shoes and
- 45:52she's like lick it up baby and yeah so she's just and how
- 45:59there's like I'm going to tell everybody at school.
- 46:01What happens? So okay she's ripping a party.
- 46:04Cool but I mean is high schools. So I guess all these little like
- 46:09failures are Amplified. Sometimes I okay.
- 46:11So I Move to Kentucky right before starting sixth grade and
- 46:17it was like, in september/october I had a
- 46:20stomach virus and I threw up in the cafeteria during lunch and
- 46:23everybody saw. And sometimes I wonder how
- 46:25different my life would be if that hadn't been one of the
- 46:27first impressions that really think you could spill out of me,
- 46:38this is one time I was in fourth grade now just sitting at this
- 46:42table. I farts.
- 46:45Oh wow. That's kept me up.
- 46:49And I was so embarrassed. I burst into tears and the girl
- 46:55beside me felt so bad. She just pad of her back.
- 47:01This is a real thing. My life could have also been
- 47:04completely different, but this was for thread, great everybody
- 47:07already knew who I was, but nobody knew that I could rip
- 47:09them like that. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 47:16You're ill everything so badly here.
- 47:21Telling the story. Yeah, he is.
- 47:29It was traumatizing, okay? I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 47:41Okay. Okay, Randy Becker.
- 47:43Huh. I think about the guy that sat
- 47:45on the table next to us and our defensive driving class in
- 47:48college, he was scared. He was terrified of what my hand
- 47:52music. Oh my God, I just farted.
- 47:53I think I could be killing. Here is like, that means of the
- 47:57kid holding him to sneeze. Yeah.
- 48:01It we still talk about us to this day.
- 48:03So not to like make you feel paranoid but I guarantee there's
- 48:06some nice. I don't care.
- 48:08I need you to know there's this kid in fourth grade.
- 48:11I just told you. I just told it to so many other
- 48:14people here. Everybody knows though, it's
- 48:16open. It's out there.
- 48:21Do we need to pause student either like okay.
- 48:40It's okay. It's okay.
- 48:42Oh, okay. So anyway, yeah, that could be
- 48:46devastating to Veronica. Okay, I guess I guess.
- 48:54Okay. Okay, okay, so let's see what
- 48:58happens next. All right, so the next morning
- 49:01Dave. Okay JD does the window sneak.
- 49:06He crawls up into Veronica's house which how does he know?
- 49:10Where she lives right there, not that good.
- 49:13They had one conversation during lunch and then he like pretended
- 49:18to shoot people and then now he's like climbing into random
- 49:21girls window to play strip croquet, which it sounds like a
- 49:24fun night. I guess she must have the most
- 49:27inattentive parents ever. Kind of.
- 49:30Yeah. Yeah.
- 49:32Because that it feels like it happens a lot in this movie.
- 49:35Yeah. And people just started.
- 49:36I think it's part of the point. Yeah, I guess.
- 49:38It's true. Yeah.
- 49:41He okay. Basically they come up with a
- 50:05plan to sneak into Heather's house to break on her.
- 50:10Yeah. She said I'd just really like to
- 50:12see, Heather Chandler, puke your guts out.
- 50:13Yeah. So, this is also, after ironic
- 50:16was like, I'm so smart. She's like, she does entire
- 50:19movie, what are you talking about?
- 50:22Really talking about how she was a genius, right?
- 50:24Yeah. Yeah.
- 50:25She could have skipped into high school as a kid but she chose
- 50:28not to because her parents thought she would have trouble
- 50:30finding friends but now she hates the friends that she has.
- 50:33Yeah, so the next morning, they go to Heather's house and
- 50:36they're going to say that they've got like a hangover cure
- 50:38for her, really, they're gonna give her something that will
- 50:40make her throw up more. And so Veronica is like, what
- 50:45makes people throw up soup and some juice?
- 50:50No. Milk and orange juice.
- 50:54That does sound bad. But one of the things I might
- 50:56throw up, probably not. It would just take a sip of and
- 50:58just be like, oh, just sit down. Yeah.
- 51:02And then JD's like, what about Drano?
- 51:07And she's like, well, no, we're just trying to make her throw up
- 51:10or not. Try to kill her and JD's, like,
- 51:12I think I fundamentally misunderstood what this was.
- 51:15Yeah, he's fully. Like, I don't know how they had
- 51:19two completely different conversations after strip Coke a
- 51:22croquet, but he's like, all right, we're killing somebody
- 51:24tomorrow and she's like, all right, we're making some I throw
- 51:26up tomorrow. Yeah yeah, it's very loud.
- 51:30Because and pours it anyways. Just like to insist but then
- 51:33Veronica's like no, I don't want to kill anybody.
- 51:36She'll probably die if she drinks a.
- 51:37So she pours the milk and orange juice in there but actually
- 51:41grabs the drain instead. Yeah, they have that.
- 51:44They use the same cups for both of these and then they JD
- 51:48notices in doesn't say anything. Yeah.
- 51:50He's about to say something nice like their mind so they get up
- 51:54there and I'll urge handlers like yeah, I'm not gonna drink
- 51:59that. Obviously you like put phlegm
- 52:01Glover's or something and there was like a whole wait, 30
- 52:04seconds. Yeah, I'm trying to like high
- 52:06Salukis into. It's nice.
- 52:11So he ends up being like I knew the stuff would be too intense
- 52:15for me and she's like, what you're saying, I'm too chicken
- 52:17to drink it. You really think that's going to
- 52:19work and he's just going. Hmm.
- 52:20And it totally works and mean he played it the right way.
- 52:24Yeah, she checks it down and says Nuts and falls into her
- 52:29glass table. That's a weird last word.
- 52:31Right corn nuts. Yeah.
- 52:33Why why do you think she said that?
- 52:35I don't know. This is what ever known?
- 52:38We'll never know. So, JD and Veronica start to
- 52:43panic about this Veronica was like, well, there goes my entire
- 52:46future and JD is like what if we make it look like a suicide?
- 52:51You can do her handwriting and they have this whole
- 52:54conversation about the use of the word Myriad.
- 52:56And he's like, no, it's It's emblematic of her failures in
- 52:58school because she liked felt it and it spoke at test.
- 53:02Yeah, I thought it was like a spelling bee on vocab test test.
- 53:07I misspelled the word dynamite in my third, grade spelling bee
- 53:12You still remember, that's the same.
- 53:13Yeah, I saw the look in your eyes.
- 53:15I looked like he like had some real trauma.
- 53:17Well, the problem was one of the other third grade teachers had
- 53:20something about like her Dynamite class except she had a
- 53:22dinosaur with it. So spell Dynomite so like
- 53:25dynamite. And so that's how what I've been
- 53:27seeing for months. She's really fucked you on that
- 53:32one. She did she did not as traumatic
- 53:36as fighting again. Nothing whatever to do, man.
- 53:47So we got to the principal and teachers, like, debating about
- 53:50what to do if they're like she's a super popular student that
- 53:54kids need to chance to mourn and he's like a, she's a cheerleader
- 53:58and they're like, no. That's Heather McNamara.
- 54:00He's like damn, I could do half a day for a cheerleader.
- 54:02Just like I love the absurdity of this.
- 54:05Like they're talking about the logistics of like how much time
- 54:08they can close school for for grieving.
- 54:10Yeah. And I love that.
- 54:12Oh, sorry. Did you have something?
- 54:13No good. I love how they are.
- 54:15Like, they end up settling on. One hour like to even like that,
- 54:19it's almost more insulting to just.
- 54:21So I give it one hour instead of like any other significant
- 54:24amount of time. Yeah.
- 54:28And then the one teacher is like we need to have an outpouring of
- 54:31our feelings and they're all like shut up.
- 54:33Yeah. She's like the hippie teachers.
- 54:35You have the art teacher or something.
- 54:37I don't know what she is. She's got the art teacher.
- 54:39She's not good at the stuff. She's doing though art teaching
- 54:43or like the baiting with the feeling stuff.
- 54:46If she doesn't go about it in a very good way.
- 54:48Oh no. No, she, she has a good heart
- 54:50but it's definitely misguided. Well, because she okay, so we
- 54:56see in the locker, the two remaining, Heather's and
- 54:58Veronica are talking. Heather Duke is like eating and
- 55:05they're like, oh, do not have the urge to purge because no.
- 55:08Yeah. She's feeling pretty good.
- 55:10A big chicken wings. She's tosses it behind her back.
- 55:12It's really crowded. Why are you just eating chicken
- 55:15in a locker room? So my I have so many questions.
- 55:19Where does she get that right? Then they just come back from
- 55:21lunch or did she have like chicken wings waiting for her?
- 55:23In her walker knows real greasy to it was.
- 55:26And that's the thing about eating stuff like that like she
- 55:28doesn't do anything. She just we used to grease on
- 55:30her hands. That's fine.
- 55:32I can live with that but like just leaving it on your fingers,
- 55:35just like touch everything else. Like you just took her hands
- 55:40through her hair and that's nasty.
- 55:45And they find it Heather Chandler, Swatch in her locker
- 55:50and Heather McNamara, gives it to Veronica.
- 55:53And so, she would want you to have this.
- 55:54She always said you can accessorize for shit.
- 55:58So then that just causes her to go and take a shower with all of
- 56:02her clothes on. Yes, she's like morning?
- 56:05No. She's well, I mean, she's also
- 56:07racked with guilt. Yeah.
- 56:10So this is the hippie teacher. I didn't write down her name.
- 56:14She passes around Heather suicide, note to the Her assets
- 56:17to yeah yeah. That's that's like she doesn't
- 56:21go about this. It's like she's got no training
- 56:24and counseling her anything she's gonna damage these
- 56:26children and it shows by the way they're talking about it,
- 56:30they're talking about the details of her murder and Pete's
- 56:32lying about having gone on a date with her and when Veronica
- 56:35laughs and calls him out for his shit.
- 56:37The teachers just like Veronica, that's not appropriate.
- 56:40Like it's just, it's this whole thing.
- 56:44It's really become like a spectator sport.
- 56:46In a way which I think is, you know, obviously your commentary
- 56:49of the movies trying to make like who all is killing
- 56:52themselves and yeah, it's nothing behind it.
- 56:54Yeah. Trying to be like a deeper
- 56:56understanding of the they weren't trying to get a deeper
- 56:58understanding. It was just gossip.
- 57:00Yes, true. Yeah, but because it cuts like
- 57:03the Montage of, like, the new stations, picking up all of
- 57:06these, like, you know, shots like interviews of these kids
- 57:09and everybody's like glorifying Heather, but everybody dude is
- 57:12on every yeah, they change the channel and she's just like
- 57:15they're giving another bullshit. Didn't it has like one guy lying
- 57:18about having dated her which? Yeah, that's fucked up, you
- 57:21know? And they realized that highly
- 57:22Chandler's more popular now than ever.
- 57:24Yeah, and JD's dad comes in and they have like, this whole roll
- 57:28reverse. I love that, I love the way they
- 57:30talk, but it shows that there's like definitely some damage in
- 57:34their relationship. This is something they pointed
- 57:36out on this ends at prom is that this is like not uncommon and
- 57:40exercise to happen in Family Therapy.
- 57:43Oh, really? Yeah, that makes sense.
- 57:45Which I thought was kind of an interesting.
- 57:46Bin because they're clearly not healthy.
- 57:48No, they're not whatever this exercises.
- 57:50They're not doing it in a healthy way to, I guess,
- 57:53clarify, for people listening who haven't seen it.
- 57:55Basically JD is like, whenever his dad walks in hey, son,
- 58:00introduce me to your girlfriend. Yeah, they kind of do stuff like
- 58:03that and basically they find out that or Veronica finds out that
- 58:09JD's dad is like big Ed and like a big.
- 58:13He's part of like a big big demolition company that kind of
- 58:16Succeeded. The city throughout the country.
- 58:19Yeah isn't like construction or something?
- 58:22Yeah and he's trying to demolish this hotel.
- 58:27That the owner is trying to get claimed as like a historical
- 58:31site. So it's this whole debate that
- 58:33he's like pissed off about right now.
- 58:35Yeah. And then it also gives a little
- 58:38bit of like context because Frank was like, well, my mom's
- 58:41making me dinner is my favorite spaghetti with extra ringing
- 58:45oregano. Yeah.
- 58:46And then Then JD's like, whoa, I must be nice to have a mom.
- 58:50Then, you know, you'll be tension between him and his dad
- 58:52there. I read somewhere online because
- 58:56it is the last time I saw her, she was waving out of the
- 58:59library window and somebody like had a theory but like she was in
- 59:03a building that the dad blew up the know.
- 59:06They always say that they say that they say it was an accident
- 59:10but she walked into the building two minutes before it.
- 59:14Like I miss, you must have because they He JD actually says
- 59:18that. He says, like they say it was an
- 59:20accident but it's bullshit shoe boys, wave to me two minutes
- 59:23before and she walked in like right before that they were
- 59:26going to do it. Like I said that was the last I
- 59:28saw of her was when she waved at me.
- 59:30Okay. Okay.
- 59:31But yeah, he knew that she was basically protesting basically
- 59:35why her father was doing and also kind of like doing her own
- 59:38suicide, who, you know, because, but strangely enough I didn't
- 59:42really score fi her. They all just kind of like Said.
- 59:46Oh she just it was an accident. Which is kind of interesting,
- 59:51right? When you think about it, because
- 59:52that's the whole point of this movie is like how they glorify
- 59:54suicide. But hers goes unnoticed, and it
- 59:57definitely seems to board JD sense of like justice.
- 1:00:00Yeah. Um, so, Veronica says great
- 1:00:07pets. Hey mom got to go.
- 1:00:08Got a motor if I'm going to get ready for that.
- 1:00:10Funeral. Oh yeah.
- 1:00:11Then I heard dad's like smoking cigarettes.
- 1:00:12Like why do I spoke these things?
- 1:00:14Because you're an idiot. Oh yeah that's right you too.
- 1:00:18Yeah. The pastor does the thing that I
- 1:00:21fucking hate at funerals where he tries to use it as an example
- 1:00:26to Guilt Trip, people into being more religious.
- 1:00:29Yeah, that's not the way to do it.
- 1:00:32Yeah, I'm okay with people being religious but like trying to
- 1:00:35like scare people or guilt them into doing, it is like at a
- 1:00:37funeral. That's not what the point of the
- 1:00:39funeral is. Yeah, it's just super
- 1:00:40manipulative. God's is my daughter.
- 1:00:43I have my funeral to Community Center or some shit.
- 1:00:45Like don't. Okay.
- 1:00:47Well have it right there with the giant skeleton.
- 1:00:51Man. I'm like I've been at funerals
- 1:00:53where this has happened and it's like when your morning, it's not
- 1:00:56a goodbye. I'm feeling or it's also really
- 1:00:59like extra shitty that somebody's like, taking your
- 1:01:02death and like, you know, kind of like taking advantage of it.
- 1:01:05Yeah. Which is not really the point,
- 1:01:07like, the whole point supposed to, like be remembering.
- 1:01:09The person, isn't that, the guy, by the way, from Beetlejuice?
- 1:01:15That is the one that can communicate with the dead that
- 1:01:17they hire. He looks very similar if it's
- 1:01:20not him. Remember - I don't look up the
- 1:01:22pastor. Okay, well, it looks like him.
- 1:01:25Then we have like this great Scene of everybody going up to
- 1:01:28the casket to like pray and pay their respects but we hear their
- 1:01:31inner monologue and it's just like yeah.
- 1:01:33Also if I think my favorite is a ram where he is like God people
- 1:01:38are so sensitive these days. Yeah, he's like, he's like
- 1:01:42making jokes. He's like not, not really
- 1:01:45jae-min and then he's like God, why are you so sensitive again?
- 1:01:48It's like he's having like a back-and-forth with Jesus in his
- 1:01:50head. Like Jesus is offending.
- 1:01:52He's like, why are you so sensitive, bro?
- 1:01:54It's really funny. So after the Hero like Heather
- 1:01:58McNamara asks, erotica to do a double date with Kurt and RAM.
- 1:02:01And I was just like, I just don't want it to wind up where
- 1:02:04they're shit-faced tipping cows and pasture.
- 1:02:08And that's exactly what ends up happening.
- 1:02:09But first, we see the jocks are messing with some Geeks and I
- 1:02:15just like this moment from the Geeks or like it's important to
- 1:02:20know like a big part of their bullying, relies on homophobia.
- 1:02:23Yeah. And so they got one of the geeks
- 1:02:25on the ground and there's like saying, They're saying say I
- 1:02:28like to suck. Big dicks a like to suck big
- 1:02:30dicks and the kick is okay. You like to suck big dicks.
- 1:02:35Dude, Trailer Park, Boys, 6, this scene from this week
- 1:02:38because like there's a whole scene like that way.
- 1:02:41He's like a say you're a little bit.
- 1:02:43She's like her, say I'm a little bit.
- 1:02:44She's like okay you're a little bitch.
- 1:02:46It also kind of feels very Bill Murray and Ghostbusters her it's
- 1:02:50like it's true. This man has no dick.
- 1:02:52Yeah but I do like this scene. It's funny that they kind of
- 1:02:56like Get. Oh no, they're getting theirs in
- 1:03:00against the bullies but also like other boys.
- 1:03:02Like both times that they're like about the boy that we're
- 1:03:04seniors, man were above this but then every single day are not
- 1:03:08above it. Yeah, they just immediately go
- 1:03:09into it because they're just so, like thin-skinned.
- 1:03:12Yeah. So they're at the pasture.
- 1:03:15They're obviously drug. They decided tip over the couch,
- 1:03:18just rude. Also, cows can lay down to
- 1:03:21sleep. I don't understand this really
- 1:03:24stupid. I like the whole Act of cow
- 1:03:26tipping. And like I just don't, it's just
- 1:03:29me, it is and I don't get the enjoyment that you get from it.
- 1:03:32But these, I guess it's kind of also there to just highlight
- 1:03:35these guys are fucking idiots. Yeah, but Veronica isn't like a
- 1:03:39stereotype of small towns is. There's yeah to do besides go
- 1:03:42cow-tipping. Because exact, I mean.
- 1:03:43Well, it's because I'm where I'm from.
- 1:03:46We do a fundraiser every year where it's called cow pie,
- 1:03:49Bingo. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:51We're like fields are like broken up into grids and you
- 1:03:54place money on certain grids where cows are going to shit.
- 1:03:57Really, what the fuck? Yeah thing?
- 1:04:00Yes. Wow.
- 1:04:01Can you imagine the cows? Like being like, wow, people are
- 1:04:04really interested in my poop's right now.
- 1:04:06I don't understand this tell you would love that tally would
- 1:04:10Batali is not a cow even though she has some cow scholar.
- 1:04:14Talia loves cows. Yeah, but I mean except for when
- 1:04:17they run that's that's frightening very much.
- 1:04:20She was not okay with that. Yeah but you got yellow.
- 1:04:25Heather and Veronica there. R on the day and then they're
- 1:04:28just kind of like pissed off kind of watching us through the
- 1:04:31and then you get like Heather and Kurt or Heather and RAM are
- 1:04:35nice. Like almost like, it's very much
- 1:04:38against her. Will you can kind of tell?
- 1:04:40She's like, resisting him, but he's like fighting against it.
- 1:04:43Yeah. And you just see her kind of
- 1:04:45given, it's pretty sad. Yeah, it's really sad.
- 1:04:47And then Kurt is like trying to get in Veronica's pants and she
- 1:04:51was like, no thanks and she walks up the hill and she sees
- 1:04:55JD because he stalks her. Clearly told her all this day
- 1:04:59and she was like, well, I tried to tell you that I'm doing this.
- 1:05:01Double date is a failure to Heather and he said our love is
- 1:05:05god let's go get a slushie. What the fuck is this?
- 1:05:09I don't know. Oh God, I don't miss being a
- 1:05:12dumb teenager who thinks shit like that is so deep and
- 1:05:16beautiful and like he's got such a sensitive cells.
- 1:05:19Yeah I did because they really do a good job of getting that in
- 1:05:23this right here because that really is like a high schooler
- 1:05:25line where Veronica maybe Spire but she is still young and
- 1:05:30stupid enough to fall for some bullshit like that at school,
- 1:05:35the next day, the yearbook committee, they are debating
- 1:05:38about a Heather Chandler spread. It's not really so much in
- 1:05:43memorial page as a like True Crime bulletin of like
- 1:05:49everything leading up to her suicide, including the note and
- 1:05:52I'll be and very strange again. It's like the commentary on like
- 1:05:56how Just a spectacle rather than you know somebody's life.
- 1:06:02I feel like that kind of happens with a wide of, yeah, like True
- 1:06:05Crime stuff where people like, there's like a new person goes
- 1:06:09missing or like somebody dies and it's a mystery like
- 1:06:12everybody's like, oh, like this is so fun to like, you know,
- 1:06:14kind of, I found it. Fascinating to listen to that
- 1:06:17stuff, but always like people getting some people.
- 1:06:20Get too excited about it. Yeah.
- 1:06:22And it shouldn't be like a whole like it's people that actually
- 1:06:26died and I like Look, I know you and I look if something is too
- 1:06:30gruesome or whatever, like we won't listen to those.
- 1:06:33Yes. It's I was turning off before.
- 1:06:35Yeah. We're very much aware that these
- 1:06:37are real people's lives. Yeah, so yeah, it's just, it's
- 1:06:41fucked up. Good, good parallel.
- 1:06:45Yeah. But that's when Veronica learns
- 1:06:47that. Kurt told everybody that he and
- 1:06:51RAM tag-team door last night. Yeah, sword fighting how they
- 1:06:56call. Which that's tough.
- 1:06:59Yeah, it's messed up that he's spreading these lies.
- 1:07:02So this inspires Veronica and JT to pull a prank where Veronica
- 1:07:08gets them to go into the woods. Yeah.
- 1:07:10She's like, do you really want that stuff to happen?
- 1:07:12Meet me at dawn in the woods. So the plan is that JD has these
- 1:07:17Special bullets that can break the skin and cause some bleeding
- 1:07:24but they have tranquilizers in them so just not Knock him out,
- 1:07:27he described as like a tranquilizer, basically, it's
- 1:07:30like enough to just like, I mean, essentially he's
- 1:07:33describing like what a rare a rubber bullet.
- 1:07:36Like it's not something that will penetrate, it will just
- 1:07:38like, no, he said it will penetrate the skin.
- 1:07:40Oh, well yeah, essentially he's describing a tranquilizer gun,
- 1:07:43except a tranquilizer is a completely different.
- 1:07:45That it's got like a bit to the end.
- 1:07:46So when it hits your skin, it like bursts open in the train.
- 1:07:48Yeah, it's your system. Yeah, except these are just
- 1:07:52actually regular bullets and I think on a level Veronica knew
- 1:07:56that, but she didn't Want to admit it to herself.
- 1:07:58Yeah, I think so too. So the plan is that they're
- 1:08:04going to make it look like because they are super
- 1:08:07homophobic. It's like we're gonna make them
- 1:08:11secret gay lovers, the suicide note that he's riding a saying
- 1:08:15that they knew they could never be openly together in this small
- 1:08:18town because of small minds. And then he's also got other
- 1:08:21evidence to back up that they are gay.
- 1:08:24I wrote down the list, I did Sir.
- 1:08:30In addition of stud puppy magazine a candy dish.
- 1:08:39It's a candy dish like like a box of chocolates type thing.
- 1:08:43No, it's a dish that you put candy in.
- 1:08:45Okay. Okay, we have candy dishes in
- 1:08:49our house. Okay?
- 1:08:51Okay. Joan Crawford postcard.
- 1:08:56That's so weird. Some mascara, and mineral water,
- 1:09:01which is the big one. Yeah.
- 1:09:05So that's all in like this fancy gift bag.
- 1:09:08Yeah, yeah it's really funny that you know, that he just
- 1:09:12thought that like a symbol all the stuff, it's just yeah it's
- 1:09:14like let's think of the most stereotypical and incorrect
- 1:09:18stereotypes. I just used to reel tape way too
- 1:09:21much in a single sentence. Yeah.
- 1:09:24So that's what they're going to do.
- 1:09:26Is like people will totally believe it in your own people
- 1:09:28did totally believe it. Yeah.
- 1:09:30So they get them there. Just like I want you guys to
- 1:09:34Trip first and you can both strip me.
- 1:09:39So they stripped down and then JD pops out and shoots Ram.
- 1:09:46I think. Yep brim.
- 1:09:47Yeah. She shoots him and Veronica's
- 1:09:49supposed to shoot Kurt but she misses and he goes running and
- 1:09:52Judy's like did you miss? And she goes no, it's fine.
- 1:09:54Like the look on his face was worth it because fuck and he
- 1:09:56like chases after him and she's noticing that Ram is not moving
- 1:10:01so much poor in man. He not Or a Ramekin.
- 1:10:05Okay, whoa. All right.
- 1:10:07Well, I guess what I was just getting as he's a tighty-whitey
- 1:10:10guy. Mmm, yeah.
- 1:10:12Oh cool. No not not.
- 1:10:15Okay. So JD eventually chases Kurt
- 1:10:18back through to the woods. The cops hear some sounds going
- 1:10:21on but they're not good at their jobs.
- 1:10:23They're smoking a joint. Yeah.
- 1:10:25So he gets back around and Veronica shoots him.
- 1:10:31And they're actually really dead.
- 1:10:33They go running because the cops did hear that gunshot and they
- 1:10:36come. So they are making out in the
- 1:10:39car to be their Alibi, which I kind of thought.
- 1:10:44I mean, that makes sense that that's their Alibi.
- 1:10:46But like also like did they think that they escaped them and
- 1:10:48they just immediately started like going at it too?
- 1:10:50Because like even after the Kapa leaves they are still continuing
- 1:10:55like we don't get like a shot of that.
- 1:10:57Be like okay what is an alibi and Ugly led into genuine
- 1:11:02horniness. Yeah, but like I like the kapre
- 1:11:05this, because I've got the whole story back here.
- 1:11:07Come back over here. Tommy that JD doesn't get a
- 1:11:10raging murder boner. He does man, like he gets off on
- 1:11:14murder. Yeah, basically.
- 1:11:15Yeah. Just talking about it and but
- 1:11:23the Smoking Gun that made them think.
- 1:11:25Oh, this is like a lover, like, it's like a crime of passion,
- 1:11:29whatever it is. Because he digs out the Earl
- 1:11:30Waters. I guess.
- 1:11:32They were gay. So school is cancelled for
- 1:11:37curtain ran because they were football stars and these two of
- 1:11:40them so they get a whole day canceled.
- 1:11:44Veronica is upset because she's realizing that they're actually
- 1:11:47killed actually dead. She Burns herself the cigarette
- 1:11:51lighter in the car, back in the day when those are thing.
- 1:11:54So she burnt herself with it and JD lights his cigarette off of
- 1:11:59the burn in her. I know, it's so crazy, but so
- 1:12:02creepy, but it's such a great visual.
- 1:12:05It's funny because, like, At first, whenever I'm watching,
- 1:12:07because I was watching that again last night, and I'm like,
- 1:12:09oh, he's like jump into a stopper basic, no, I need to
- 1:12:11wipe this off of your skin right now.
- 1:12:14There's a fucking psycho, yes. So they have a double funeral,
- 1:12:18they're side by side in their little casket and the rig, they
- 1:12:21got their footballs and their football helmets on to because
- 1:12:24it's not real footballs, it's like the little plastic.
- 1:12:27Yeah. I mean come on.
- 1:12:33Our football was that hard to come across here and whatever
- 1:12:36town in Ohio? I don't know.
- 1:12:38I don't think so, but current status.
- 1:12:41Like, I have has this whole I love my dead gay son speech and
- 1:12:45it's so absurd. And Christian Slater's character
- 1:12:49has a very pointed. Yeah.
- 1:12:51But would he still love him if he had a limp wrist with a
- 1:12:54pulse? Yeah, because it is very much
- 1:12:57like that is a very sobering reality that there are plenty of
- 1:13:00families out there that will reject their queer children and
- 1:13:05then only accept them after death after grab something
- 1:13:09tragic happens. Yeah.
- 1:13:11But this like a causes Veronica to laugh and she notices, I
- 1:13:14think one of their sisters and then kind of like, gives her a -
- 1:13:17yeah, she turns around she's crying much like you after your
- 1:13:20fart and we created, I don't know.
- 1:13:30Okay, okay. Yeah.
- 1:13:51All right, so the hippie teachers back, she's advocating
- 1:13:54for more like group therapy basically for all Mooring of
- 1:13:57emotion. Yeah.
- 1:13:59And the board finally agrees are like well we don't know what
- 1:14:01you're fucking doing. Like it a lot of dead teenagers.
- 1:14:04Let's listen to this lady. Yeah.
- 1:14:07Except this is even more chaotic.
- 1:14:09It almost looks like a protest in some way.
- 1:14:12She brings in a news crew. So this is where, like Martha
- 1:14:16panics and she Dives underneath the table and that's where J.
- 1:14:20It is like, greetings and salutations.
- 1:14:22That's like the second time he says it.
- 1:14:24Greetings and salutations. Yeah, so the whole thing is just
- 1:14:27chaotic and not Well, I guess there's a bunch of people trying
- 1:14:31to be on the news. Like it's not really doing
- 1:14:33anything to help with the grieving for, yes, because
- 1:14:35they're doing the same thing that they did with the original
- 1:14:38Heather. They're just like, oh yeah, they
- 1:14:39were such good people like it's a shame that they died but
- 1:14:43afterwards JD's, like chaos is what killed the dinosaurs, cool
- 1:14:48and j.d. He says that they're scaring the
- 1:14:54population and to being better people, which doesn't really
- 1:14:59line up because they don't know that these people are being
- 1:15:02murdered, they think everybody's just killing themselves.
- 1:15:05Well I mean it's yeah I guess well, no because I mean really
- 1:15:11what's happening is well is about to happen like Green
- 1:15:17Heather becomes like the red Heather but also inspiring
- 1:15:21people to like commit suicide now too because they want to
- 1:15:24also have this kind of yeah you know they want people to see
- 1:15:28them in this way. We see that the hotel hotel
- 1:15:33demolition worked JD's. Dad comes in super excited about
- 1:15:36it talks about a big-ass bomb in the basement setting off.
- 1:15:42Other explosives higher up. I forget the exact terms used
- 1:15:47but it's essentially what JD's gonna set up later.
- 1:15:49I just now made that realization.
- 1:15:52That that's how he had all this shit is because his dad does
- 1:15:54demolition. Yeah, but I mean also, if
- 1:15:57anybody's going to have the Anarchist Cookbook, it's gonna
- 1:16:00be fucking JD, you know what I mean?
- 1:16:01True. So his dad leaves JD shoots the
- 1:16:07radio start playing big funds, teens teenage suicide, don't do
- 1:16:13it. Yeah and Veronica breaks up with
- 1:16:16them. So, JD decides he's going to
- 1:16:19Blackmail. Heather Duke grandmother, mmm,
- 1:16:24with a photo of when she was friends with Martha and she's
- 1:16:30like what do you want me to do? He's like I'm going to ask a
- 1:16:33favor of you some point in the future.
- 1:16:35You can have my lunch money. Yeah.
- 1:16:37She's I'll give you a week's worth of lunch money and oh my
- 1:16:39girl. I thought you were Rich first.
- 1:16:41Yeah, right. Like also he's Rich.
- 1:16:43So in fact, I feel like everybody we've been aggressive.
- 1:16:47Rich suburb? Yeah, everybody here is Rich.
- 1:16:49Maybe not Martha, maybe. But maybe, but maybe we don't
- 1:16:53know. Yeah.
- 1:16:56So he's like also like you need to start wielding your power and
- 1:17:02passes over Heather's scrunchie and she's like cool.
- 1:17:06Don't need this anymore books that's for nerds and gives him
- 1:17:11her copy of Moby. Dick apparently, they really
- 1:17:13wanted to be Catcher in the Rye, but the Salinger family outright
- 1:17:16refused because they didn't want to be associated with something
- 1:17:19like that. They just didn't want to give
- 1:17:21the rights to be used in it, huh?
- 1:17:25During his name is JD. Yeah.
- 1:17:27Yeah. And I'm Veronica.
- 1:17:29Sawyer is apparently named after the bad girl in the Archie
- 1:17:33Comics and Tom Sawyer oh really? Okay, interesting.
- 1:17:38So fun with names. There's also like was it Heather
- 1:17:42Duke. Like the Duke is always the
- 1:17:44second in command. There's like there's a lot of
- 1:17:48meaning behind the names. It is, this movie has a lot of
- 1:17:51it's like just things. It's a smart movie.
- 1:17:54It is it Really smart movie. So Veronica sees Heather Duke
- 1:18:01with the scrunchie and she is not at all amused.
- 1:18:04And she's like, and it's also, like, weird that her in the to
- 1:18:08Heather's are still kind of like hanging out.
- 1:18:09You would think that they would kind of dissolve without their
- 1:18:12leader, but, yeah, you would think so.
- 1:18:14But no, it's just one, A different one.
- 1:18:16Just takes the place. Mmm, so Veronica.
- 1:18:20Invites Betty, Finn over to play some croquet.
- 1:18:24We have another moment where she can, the whatever that rule is
- 1:18:28with croquet, where you can either take two shots or take
- 1:18:30them out. I don't know what it means and
- 1:18:33Veronica's gonna like, do her two shots and bet he's like, why
- 1:18:37wouldn't you just take me out? Nice guys, finish last and
- 1:18:40that's the last we see of, but even which is weird, but why
- 1:18:43isn't she invited to new release night with Martha?
- 1:18:47Like why can't the three of them?
- 1:18:48Yeah, right. Because he is because our old
- 1:18:50friends. Yeah.
- 1:18:51I mean, I guess like it's just like show her Tyson's Sighs with
- 1:18:54their old past. Who she wants to be.
- 1:18:56Yeah. But yeah.
- 1:18:57It's just although maybe this was the last straw because the
- 1:19:00other two Heather's come in and kick Betty Finn out of
- 1:19:03Veronica's own backyard. Yeah, I think I would maybe be
- 1:19:06done. Yeah.
- 1:19:07To like, okay. Like I'm Renee Estevez and I'm a
- 1:19:10very good girl in all the world I play, but even I have to draw
- 1:19:13a line somewhere. I'm gonna go.
- 1:19:14Hang out with Bruce, Springsteen's older sister.
- 1:19:17Yes. I'm gonna be friends with The
- 1:19:18Psychotic camp, counselor. Yeah, thank you.
- 1:19:20Bye. Yeah, she went Howdy partner and
- 1:19:28Heather Duke calls read. And she switches over from being
- 1:19:33the green, Heather to the red Heather, which is very confusing
- 1:19:36to me. So much, red clothing.
- 1:19:37Look ready to go. She did well, she's like boom.
- 1:19:41Maybe maybe like in another movie and Heather Duke Centric
- 1:19:46movie. She has like a whole shopping
- 1:19:48Montage. I could.
- 1:19:49Yeah. She like there's like one moment
- 1:19:53where a sales See it tries to bring her a green dress and she
- 1:19:56like shakes her head aggressively and points to ride
- 1:19:59one. My theory is, I think that she
- 1:20:03likes red was secretly her favorite color because, but she
- 1:20:07was forced to change it to Green because in the very beginning of
- 1:20:09the movie, she wanted to be the red ball, but she was told no.
- 1:20:12Because red Heather was like, no, that's my color.
- 1:20:14He said, did you eat a brain tumor for breakfast?
- 1:20:16Which is such a devastating insull.
- 1:20:19I love the way Heather Chandler, talk.
- 1:20:21That's how she made it to the top right there.
- 1:20:23People like goddamn. I don't have a response to that.
- 1:20:26Okay. Yeah.
- 1:20:27But you know this and I think there's very subconsciously a
- 1:20:29part of me that models that and a lot of the ways I will try and
- 1:20:33describe something. Oh yeah I can see that.
- 1:20:36Yeah, so that night we see the news report on teen suicide
- 1:20:40playing in the Slayer household in the same time Martha is
- 1:20:45making a suicide attempt like but an actual real one very
- 1:20:49tragic, very sad. She saved defense of note to her
- 1:20:53sure. In walks out into traffic.
- 1:20:55Yeah, I was very confused at the very beginning of this because
- 1:20:58it starts off with like her sitting in a crowded gym and
- 1:21:01everybody's cheering and then all of a sudden we zoom out and
- 1:21:03it's empty. Yeah.
- 1:21:04I wish you thinking in her head. What's that supposed to mean?
- 1:21:08Maybe she was there and she just stayed after the game.
- 1:21:10They should just like the bleachers slowly emptied, I
- 1:21:13guess it could be that. Yeah, so her parents are
- 1:21:18Veronica's. Parents are talking to her very
- 1:21:21concerned about her. And teen suicide and products,
- 1:21:25like, this is all bullshit, like, treat teenagers, like
- 1:21:29people instead of patronising us like little bunny rabbits.
- 1:21:31And that's where the dad says, I don't patronize but I rather.
- 1:21:34Yeah, love it. I like the mom is fine sir.
- 1:21:36Yeah, yeah. She's like oh kids are always
- 1:21:39saying they want to be treated like humans and then when
- 1:21:41they're treated like humans, they're mad like yeah, just like
- 1:21:45this is what being treated like a human is.
- 1:21:47Yeah and she admits it's a very good point.
- 1:21:51Heather Duke comes in to laugh about Martha.
- 1:21:54She's like, she's in the hospital.
- 1:21:56She survives. She's in stable Condition.
- 1:21:59It's so sad when the Geeks try and copy the popular kids.
- 1:22:03Yeah, that's so stupid. But then Veronica also thinks
- 1:22:07it's stupid and just slaps her. Yeah, then they go upstairs and
- 1:22:11they're kind of like, bitching at each other.
- 1:22:12Like, they're this is their dynamic.
- 1:22:15They hate each other, but they're still just hanging out.
- 1:22:16Yeah, they just accepted. They're like, okay, you slap me?
- 1:22:19All right, let's move on. They're gonna listen to hot
- 1:22:21probs on the radio and And Heather McNamara calls in like
- 1:22:27what's your name? She goes Heather.
- 1:22:28No not Heather Madonna. No, not that either Tweety like
- 1:22:33andronicus. Like she knows we listen to the
- 1:22:35show, like, but the can be like other Heather's, right?
- 1:22:39Clearly, she's just so many Heather's.
- 1:22:41Yeah, maybe the tell was, she chose Tweety Tweety Birds
- 1:22:45yellow? Yeah, well and she also had a
- 1:22:48bird in her room. Oh yeah.
- 1:22:50But I'm just saying like, you know, like that's she had to
- 1:22:53choose The other had to be retail.
- 1:22:55Yeah but she's basically just talking about how hard her life
- 1:22:57is right now and then Heather Dukes like oh she's gonna get
- 1:23:01it. And then the next day in class
- 1:23:03we see Lee wrote, poor little Heather on the Blackboard and
- 1:23:06everybody's laughing and she's just sitting there very upset
- 1:23:09and as soon as class starts she runs off to the bathroom and
- 1:23:13Veronica follows after her and basically she's trying to Just
- 1:23:18going to take a bunch of pills and she was like, the decision
- 1:23:21to kill yourself is very private.
- 1:23:25Yeah. But I love this line because,
- 1:23:28you know, Veronica like actually has a good friend moment with
- 1:23:30Heather McNamara, like where she's just like, it's, like,
- 1:23:33literally okay to be sad. If you were happy every day of
- 1:23:37your life, you wouldn't be a human.
- 1:23:38You'd be a game show host. Yeah, I like that.
- 1:23:41That's a nice piece of advice. That's I feel like that's like
- 1:23:45the last we see of this Heather too.
- 1:23:47But she's like, the She's the nicest of them, we see you at
- 1:23:50the pep rally. Well, she's just doing car
- 1:23:52wheels. So yeah, Mike, I mean, we don't,
- 1:23:54we don't really get anything else of meaning from her after
- 1:23:57this JD calls in his favor to Heather Duke and he wants
- 1:24:01everybody to sign. He wants her to get everybody to
- 1:24:03sign this petition, have that he says, is to have big fun, play
- 1:24:06at the prom and we see her going around and getting everybody to
- 1:24:11sign it her. And she comes with Veronica to
- 1:24:14sign in her and Veronica fight. Because she's like, I know that
- 1:24:17you're lying to people. About what this petition is JD
- 1:24:20is busy underlining lines and Moby Dick and he shows it to
- 1:24:24Veronica and his like look, this will go great with her suicide,
- 1:24:28note Veronica goes home. Her parents are concerned
- 1:24:32because JD was like, I'm very concerned about Veronica.
- 1:24:37I think she might try and commit suicide.
- 1:24:39You should probably keep her away from pills and sharp
- 1:24:41objects and all that. And he also asked us to give you
- 1:24:47this and it's a note. Hmm.
- 1:24:49In her handwriting. This is like you're not the only
- 1:24:51one that liked can recognize the handwriting or.
- 1:24:54Yeah. So she gets up to her room.
- 1:24:58There's a Barbie doll hanging from the ceiling.
- 1:25:02So, like Frankie's, right? Yeah.
- 1:25:07That's a good way to do it. Like if I walked in on something
- 1:25:09like that, be like oh fuck. Okay.
- 1:25:12So she lays out her bed and I can't tell if this is all a
- 1:25:14dream or not, I'm pretty sure it's the dream with her and
- 1:25:18yeah. Yeah yeah.
- 1:25:18I mean that's the thing like it has to be a dream because yeah
- 1:25:23he comes in he wants to do some more underlining.
- 1:25:26They go to Heather Dukes house and argue about the cleanliness
- 1:25:30of the knife that she would use to cut her wrists and she's
- 1:25:34like, no. Heather is a Heather Duke is
- 1:25:36very clean person. She wouldn't she wouldn't clean.
- 1:25:39She wouldn't cut her wrists with a dirty knife.
- 1:25:42So there's this whole thing. And then we see the funeral, and
- 1:25:44we got one of my favorite tropes, which is dead person
- 1:25:47talking about how boring the afterlife.
- 1:25:48As because Heather Chandler, valves own.
- 1:25:50She's like, I've had to sit around and sing Kumbaya one more
- 1:25:52time. I like how these people are.
- 1:25:55Obviously, so Jaded by all of the funerals, they have to go
- 1:25:58to. They're like, all right, let's
- 1:25:59watch this one in 3D, like they just all have 3D glasses on in
- 1:26:03the note that he wrote for Heather to.
- 1:26:05It's just life sucks because, like, obviously he's not the
- 1:26:08brains of this thing is trying to like figure.
- 1:26:11I mean, he's, he was smart enough to do the underlining of
- 1:26:13the book and stuff like when it comes actually writing out a,
- 1:26:15no, he's like life sucks. I don't know.
- 1:26:17Yeah, that's It's good and he's like whatever the book will
- 1:26:19speak for itself. Yeah, we see JD actually pops up
- 1:26:23in her room and she is hanging from the ceiling and he's like,
- 1:26:27oh man, I didn't think you'd actually do it.
- 1:26:29Like He doesn't the bad guy thing where you monologues his
- 1:26:33whole plan to the dead body just because he's got to get it out
- 1:26:37to somebody like this. I'm gonna it's the petition is
- 1:26:39actually a mass suicide note. I'm gonna blow up the school
- 1:26:41tomorrow. Think it's funny like he has his
- 1:26:44speech prepared. He's like, well, you're still
- 1:26:46going to get my speech. Yeah, you do deserve my fuckin
- 1:26:49speech. Yeah.
- 1:26:51So after he leaves Veronica's, mom walks in and starts
- 1:26:57panicking, she's like, I should have let you take the job at the
- 1:27:00mall. I'm like why is that the first
- 1:27:01thing that popped into your head?
- 1:27:03She's not even really grieving and like it's not even like a
- 1:27:07shock response. She's just like oh my God, I
- 1:27:09should have done this so she doesn't she's immediately
- 1:27:10thinking about how this is going to hurt her image.
- 1:27:12Yeah Social Circle like oh I wonder what's happening with the
- 1:27:16parents in this town. Like are they gossiping about
- 1:27:18the parents of the dead kids? That's like a, that could be
- 1:27:21like another movie like, yeah, it's like going parallel with
- 1:27:24this with their Heather's, we got this movie that's actually
- 1:27:27falling for Veronica and then we've got the movie of Heather
- 1:27:30Duke Where she gets her shopping montage and then we've got the
- 1:27:33movie of all the parents and how they're handling all of this.
- 1:27:36So it's like a Trilogy. Yes.
- 1:27:38Yeah I'm into it. Yeah, okay so that's when
- 1:27:45Veronica's like hey Mom and she likes lowers herself from the
- 1:27:47ceiling. So At school the next day
- 1:27:53Veronica. Realizes what JD's plan is.
- 1:27:56Yeah, it's going to blow up the whole school.
- 1:27:58So she follows him down into the boiler room and basically, they
- 1:28:01have this whole big fight and at the scene is intercut between
- 1:28:05them and the pep rally. And I love the bit.
- 1:28:09This tiny little bit in the pep rally.
- 1:28:11The principle is Leading Edge here and you hear him go t er
- 1:28:17Bur. Gee, I love it but it kind of
- 1:28:24works to like, I heard that General.
- 1:28:26Like, I could hear that and I would actually, I could get
- 1:28:29behind it. Did you guys have any chance for
- 1:28:31your school? Yeah, I mean, we had pep
- 1:28:34rallies. And usually, they just kind of
- 1:28:36like. Yeah, they did chance.
- 1:28:38But basically, they would, like, roll out some AC DC and be like,
- 1:28:41all right, we're gonna play some football today.
- 1:28:43Burnin in, in, in, in, in, in a football.
- 1:28:56But Veronica ends up shooting off JD's middle finger.
- 1:29:00Yeah I'm sure he didn't expect her to actually make the shot
- 1:29:04since she missed Kurt a whole human but she managed to his
- 1:29:08teeny tiny little finger. Yeah he's like flipping her off.
- 1:29:13She is like struggling to figure out which button is depressed.
- 1:29:17She gets him to stop the bomb accidentally.
- 1:29:20Yeah I like him stabbing the whole device and it stops
- 1:29:23counting at four. So they go outside.
- 1:29:28She goes outside for a smoke on the front front steps.
- 1:29:31Nobody knows that she just saved the day but it's fine.
- 1:29:33She's always been there for me. Rough.
- 1:29:35She looks pretty rough. Oh, JD comes out and he is
- 1:29:39strapped a bomb to himself, and he just kind of like walks away
- 1:29:43now. And there's a big explosion
- 1:29:45everybody in the gym here, is it, but whatever.
- 1:29:48They've got more important things to do.
- 1:29:49They've got football. Yeah.
- 1:29:51Like you can go outside and see where body parts are probably
- 1:29:56scattered all over the It's a gruesome scene out there.
- 1:29:59Yeah, but she goes inside and she says, he's Heather dick.
- 1:30:05I'm Heather's. Like you look like hell and she
- 1:30:06goes. Yeah, I just got back.
- 1:30:09And then she rips the scrunchie out of Heather's hair.
- 1:30:13Kisses are on the cheek and says, Heather my love.
- 1:30:14There's a new sheriff in town and that's when she walks up to
- 1:30:17Martha. And since Martha, what he my
- 1:30:19prom date kind of bailed on me, what do you say?
- 1:30:21We hit some hit Blockbuster, get some of the new releases and
- 1:30:27Martha says, Yeah. Yeah and does Donuts.
- 1:30:29Yeah. She's in her scooter and she's
- 1:30:30like doing donuts. She's so happy and that's it.
- 1:30:33They walk off. Yeah, so I take issue with that
- 1:30:38a little bit because if I were in Martha situation I like the
- 1:30:42one where she says, fuck you Heather.
- 1:30:43I think that's the most realistic ending I agree.
- 1:30:46But like whenever I would see like there has been nothing to
- 1:30:50establish. If there's any connection
- 1:30:51between those two, don't even like exchanged words at any
- 1:30:55point. So I would if I were marked out
- 1:30:57of This is like a Pity thing. I'm not really into that.
- 1:31:00Like, you're not really wanting to be my friend, you just feel
- 1:31:02bad, so, but maybe she's super desperate for friends.
- 1:31:06It would have made way more sense if it were Molly.
- 1:31:09Molly, what's your actual name in this Betty, Betty?
- 1:31:13Yeah, that's Betty. And Veronica.
- 1:31:15Yeah. Like, it would have made more
- 1:31:17sense if they reconnected. Yeah.
- 1:31:19You also kind of, I don't know. I guess they just wanted to give
- 1:31:22Martha. Happy ending.
- 1:31:23Yeah, but you could just like, see her like have support or
- 1:31:27something at the end. I don't know.
- 1:31:28Yeah, but it's still a good ending.
- 1:31:33Yeah, I like it. I'm keeping it a 10.
- 1:31:36I love this movie. We all know that I think
- 1:31:39teenagers are psychotic, so having a whole movie, that it,
- 1:31:42fully Embraces, it is very nice for me.
- 1:31:45Yeah. Like and just how miserable high
- 1:31:49school was Sky. High School fucking sucks.
- 1:31:51And I love that. This movie does not try and deny
- 1:31:54it, and also tries to kind of it also.
- 1:31:58Kind of, you know, points out how like adults, forget how much
- 1:32:00it sucks and when their kids are timeout or like, whatever you'll
- 1:32:03get over it, that's something like I try and think about that
- 1:32:06stuff. Sometimes I'm like, what would I
- 1:32:07tell my old self? But then I'd be like, yeah, this
- 1:32:10seems like a big deal now but it's really not.
- 1:32:12But then like it is a big deal to them bad time.
- 1:32:15So it's you can't really accurately tell them that like I
- 1:32:19just want to be like you will eventually not be in high
- 1:32:22school. That's what I would tell my old
- 1:32:24self as like this, you will eventually not be here.
- 1:32:27Yeah, this will not Not matter at all.
- 1:32:28It sucks now, and you're going to repress memories, that will
- 1:32:32pop up at weird points in the future, but you will survive and
- 1:32:35thrive. Yeah, you haven't.
- 1:32:37You haven't even begun to Peak myself.
- 1:32:41Yeah, I fucking love this movie. All right, I'm bumping months
- 1:32:44and nine. Yeah, talking about it.
- 1:32:47Some things deeper down that I didn't even notice like, some,
- 1:32:50like gold details. I just kind of makes this movie,
- 1:32:52like the message, like, everything kind of like, tie in
- 1:32:56together, so, Nicely. It's super tight.
- 1:33:00It's really good. Okay, well that bombs are
- 1:33:02average up from a nine point two.
- 1:33:03Five, two nine point five. Wow, what would it take to get
- 1:33:07you to attend change? You would make, I think it would
- 1:33:11be the ending, okay? Because I mean, it's still a
- 1:33:14fine ending but I don't really feel like it works.
- 1:33:17Considering all of that we had seen like all of the options
- 1:33:21that you listed Martha. Killing Veronica would have been
- 1:33:24amazing. Yes, I would.
- 1:33:27Yeah. If it were that I think it could
- 1:33:29have been a 10. Okay?
- 1:33:32Talia. Was very sleepy girl.
- 1:33:36She had a busy day barking yesterday.
- 1:33:38So by the time we started watching the movie, she's very
- 1:33:40sleepy. You also mentioned that you had
- 1:33:42watched this recently. Yes.
- 1:33:45So the girls were just kind of like a we've seen it.
- 1:33:47Zoe watch this right. Zoe came up during the second
- 1:33:50half because she remembered about explosion.
- 1:33:53Yeah. Even though you don't see it.
- 1:33:54You hear it. Yeah.
- 1:33:55So though it was a watch and tie, I think tally is going to
- 1:33:59get this like a 70k. Is it rhymes with Heaven?
- 1:34:02I like Yeah. All right dream sequel.
- 1:34:08Oh yeah. Drew we haven't done a dream
- 1:34:09sequence a wino because we had sequel month.
- 1:34:11So yeah. Sequel for this.
- 1:34:16Well, I think we already talked about it.
- 1:34:18I want the yeah, what? The parents perspective.
- 1:34:20It's not necessarily a sequel, but you can call it Heather,
- 1:34:23Sue, but it runs parallel. Because like I think that you
- 1:34:26can explore something interesting there too with how
- 1:34:28it affects the adults and how they are doing it with their
- 1:34:32kids. Like you know, everybody's
- 1:34:35construing all that. Okay.
- 1:34:37So I pulled two reviews from IMDb, I figured we would go
- 1:34:42positive for ourselves so I wanted Full of negative 1.
- 1:34:45Okay. But I laughed out loud when I
- 1:34:47saw this because yeah, the dumbest fucking review is a
- 1:34:4910/10 titled. Sure.
- 1:34:52And the review is it like the bit where they thought they were
- 1:34:55gay, because they like mineral water.
- 1:34:57And that's it, that's it. Okay, you know, if that's what
- 1:35:01it takes to get you like a perfect movie than fine, I'll
- 1:35:04respect that. So, All right, struggled trying
- 1:35:11to find a negative review. That's was something other than
- 1:35:14just like I didn't like the language and I didn't like the
- 1:35:15message and then I kind of realized that when we talk about
- 1:35:19different things that, you know, why somebody might like them
- 1:35:23move, your might not like a movie.
- 1:35:24This is one of those movies that if you are not into dark humor
- 1:35:27satire, anything like that. It's not a movie for you.
- 1:35:31Yeah, so I wound up on one that basically says that but explains
- 1:35:37themselves a little bit better out of that than You know, I
- 1:35:39just don't like it. So the movie was made the year.
- 1:35:44I was born and I still haven't seen it.
- 1:35:47Wait, you haven't seen it. I've missed that line way.
- 1:35:51So we're not review this. And when they rated 1 out of 10
- 1:35:55and this was in 2008. Okay.
- 1:35:57Who in their right Minds? Would is just about a bunch of
- 1:36:00girls. Throughout of the for with the
- 1:36:03same name who totally need their mouth washed out spoiler
- 1:36:06warning, they curse and use terrible vocabulary words,
- 1:36:08mostly the a word, the s word the effort etcetera as if I'm
- 1:36:12sorry they've had to have seen this.
- 1:36:14Oh yeah they know as I think that maybe this is their first
- 1:36:16viewing as well as kill people for no good reason at all.
- 1:36:20This is all from what I read on this website which I've posted
- 1:36:25several other comments on in the past.
- 1:36:27This isn't a comedy. This is just plain stupid.
- 1:36:29And the name Veronica is always given to a snobby.
- 1:36:32Orson. I mean what's up with that?
- 1:36:34If you like this person's definitely name Veronica.
- 1:36:37If you like this and other movies in which the characters
- 1:36:40use the worst language ever like.
- 1:36:43I think they mean, Erin, Erin Brockovich for this it and
- 1:36:46brocco which I don't know. I've never seen a movie with a
- 1:36:51minute. I presumably think no offense.
- 1:36:54You need your ears, examined, I hate for vanity.
- 1:36:57So that's just my opinion. And I mean, Like I said, this
- 1:37:02isn't a movie for them. It's I mean it's a cool hit for
- 1:37:05a reason. Yeah, it's It is very much a
- 1:37:11type of humor that you have to appreciate to really like the
- 1:37:16movie. And not everybody has that sense
- 1:37:18of humor. Yeah.
- 1:37:19And yeah, you have to you have to give him a v a chance.
- 1:37:25Yeah. And this person just was very
- 1:37:28put off by it. I mean it sounds like they don't
- 1:37:30they just didn't like it. That's yeah.
- 1:37:32And yeah, just I don't know. Like don't re movies if it
- 1:37:38doesn't like if it's not what you want.
- 1:37:40Like I'm not gonna like well I mean I do think that's kind of
- 1:37:42important though. So that way other people who are
- 1:37:44like, oh well I don't like this type of movie and they see these
- 1:37:46reviews and they're like, okay, well, this isn't going to be a
- 1:37:48movie for me. Yeah, okay, that's fair, but
- 1:37:52just, I don't know. I wouldn't read it.
- 1:37:53I would just like make people aware like, hey, if you have any
- 1:37:57interest, I know that there's talk of this movie going on just
- 1:38:00beware that there is a lot of dark themes in this and it has a
- 1:38:05lot of vulgar language. I remember when me and Came out.
- 1:38:09I was very intrigued by it and I wanted to see it and my mom was
- 1:38:12like, maybe we can go see it in theaters.
- 1:38:15And then this girl because this is, I want to say, I went to
- 1:38:20Jesus Camp around that time, maybe and I mentioned wanting to
- 1:38:23see me in girls. And this grommet, Kevin was
- 1:38:26like, I know the trailer made. It seem really funny but they
- 1:38:32use the b word a lot. And that's most the movies them
- 1:38:35just calling each other. The b word.
- 1:38:37Wow. Which again she kind of missed
- 1:38:39the point some. Yeah, maybe but she probably ran
- 1:38:42away. We were young so yeah.
- 1:38:45But yeah that's like that that memory just got unlocked so I
- 1:38:51can all kinds of she's heard all about.
- 1:38:59It's out there and she's gonna come for me when I go back out
- 1:39:01there you like Daddy? I know how you feel.
- 1:39:04You guys laugh at my farts all the time but she's always proud
- 1:39:08of. All right, well I will give us
- 1:39:12some listen to reduce here, okay?
- 1:39:14So we have a total of three. Okay, I'm surprised what we have
- 1:39:18a lot of people that were just like super pumped and ways that
- 1:39:20we were covering it. Yeah, which is awesome.
- 1:39:22I'm glad that there are people excited for this episode, for
- 1:39:26this movie in particular, but all right, So on Instagram, we
- 1:39:30have will start with the shortest one first we have in
- 1:39:33Feldman who just says, love it. Yes.
- 1:39:35All right. Cool agreed.
- 1:39:37Yes, Robert atone, love it. Currently cat-sitting a kitten
- 1:39:41named after Slater's character. So James, Dean or Jason Dean
- 1:39:47Jason. Yeah, and third one is from
- 1:39:52Michael Lee Howard. He says, Heather's is a perfect
- 1:39:55dark comedy that Embraces manipulation Teen Angst and
- 1:39:58series top Sex with just the perfect dose of humor a Revenge
- 1:40:01film. We all played in our own mind, 8
- 1:40:04out of 10, okay? I like that.
- 1:40:06Yeah, it is because you do think about that type of thing when
- 1:40:10you're probably that age like, you know, how am I going to get
- 1:40:12revenge on this person and a lot of times you kind of like blow
- 1:40:15it up in your head like it's going to be like this Grand
- 1:40:18thing. I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna
- 1:40:20really get them good. It's the kind of movie where you
- 1:40:23can't hold any punches like this maybe it wouldn't work.
- 1:40:25If you hold back even just a little bit on any of it.
- 1:40:28Yeah. Yeah, and it does, it works for
- 1:40:31what it's trying to do. Okay, that's it for Heather's.
- 1:40:36Yeah, I'm going to once again, tell you guys to self-insert a
- 1:40:42soundtrack right here, but just the song Heather's by
- 1:40:45insignificant other Travis's, listen to me, listen to it on
- 1:40:49repeat, for the past month. Or so, I've been listening to
- 1:40:51you, singing it on repeat, for the last month or so.
- 1:40:55Heather's again, if there is it. But next week we're going to
- 1:40:59cover it follows. Yay.
- 1:41:02We're very excited about this one.
- 1:41:04It's kind of different. We haven't really talked about.
- 1:41:06I mean it's just going to different from things that we've
- 1:41:09talked about but then again so is Heather just like we're kind
- 1:41:11of like going with like new territory that's long.
- 1:41:14I think we're kind of finally comfortable and what we want to
- 1:41:17cover. Yeah like you know what we're
- 1:41:19doing this one. Yeah so right now it's available
- 1:41:23for streaming on Netflix. It's or you can rent it from
- 1:41:25YouTube. Google Play prime or voodoo
- 1:41:28doll, right? Don't rent it from view to.
- 1:41:29That is eight dollars. It is four dollars everywhere
- 1:41:32else. Yeah, that's fucked up.
- 1:41:34Don't do that. Okay.
- 1:41:36But yeah, watch it. It's really good movie.
- 1:41:37I'm really excited to talk about it.
- 1:41:39Okay. Alright.
- 1:41:41Until next time. Bye.
- 1:41:59No.
