- 0:19Speaker 1: Good morning. Thank you for joining us this morning on
- 0:21Speaker 1: our Front Porch Friday edition of Morning Moments with Jesus.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I pray that you can just take a little time
- 0:28Speaker 1: this morning before your day gets started, and just get
- 0:32Speaker 1: in a place where you can relax and just take
- 0:34Speaker 1: a deep breath and just begin to not only meditate
- 0:37Speaker 1: on the Word of God this morning, but just share
- 0:39Speaker 1: a few moments with not just myself, but all of
- 0:42Speaker 1: those who listen to our devotion time here on our podcast.
- 0:47Speaker 1: We are one big family just trying to encourage each other,
- 0:51Speaker 1: uplift one another. And I told you yesterday that as
- 0:54Speaker 1: we kind of start these Front Porch Fridays, these moments
- 0:58Speaker 1: of reflection, I wanted to try to bring in some
- 1:02Speaker 1: of the comments or letters that I get through this
- 1:07Speaker 1: podcast and particularly through these devotions that may encourage you
- 1:12Speaker 1: as well as they encourage me, because I know you
- 1:15Speaker 1: hear from me all the time and the thoughts that
- 1:17Speaker 1: the Lord gives me. But from time to time I
- 1:20Speaker 1: think it's important to share what other people in our
- 1:23Speaker 1: group and our family here are sharing also. And this
- 1:28Speaker 1: morning I pull one out that really particularly touched me,
- 1:33Speaker 1: and they desire to be referred to as just a
- 1:36Speaker 1: grateful listener. So that's how we'll identify this brother this morning.
- 1:41Speaker 1: But the letter goes something like this. It says, Dear Eddie,
- 1:45Speaker 1: I hope this email finds you well. I've listened to
- 1:49Speaker 1: this This is the Life podcast for quite a while now,
- 1:52Speaker 1: and I just wanted to thank you for the encouragement
- 1:55Speaker 1: you've shared over the years. The Lord has used your
- 1:59Speaker 1: messages and this podcast to strengthen my faith more times
- 2:03Speaker 1: than I can count. Recently, I've been going through some
- 2:07Speaker 1: serious health issues. There have been days when I've honestly
- 2:11Speaker 1: wondered how much longer the Lord would leave me here
- 2:14Speaker 1: upon this earth. I don't say that with fear as
- 2:18Speaker 1: much as with a deeper awareness that this life is
- 2:22Speaker 1: only temporary. When your health changes, it has a way
- 2:29Speaker 1: of changing your perspective. Also, one of the songs that
- 2:33Speaker 1: has meant more to me than I can express is
- 2:36Speaker 1: the song this Song of Praise. Every time I hear it,
- 2:41Speaker 1: my spirit is lifted. It reminds me that beyond all
- 2:45Speaker 1: the pain, the doctor's appointments, the uncertainty, and the struggles
- 2:49Speaker 1: of this life, there is something much greater waiting for
- 2:53Speaker 1: those who belong to Christ. There's something about that final
- 2:58Speaker 1: chorus in that song. As the music builds and the
- 3:02Speaker 1: choir kind of comes in, I can't help but close
- 3:06Speaker 1: my eyes, raise my hands and picture a heavenly choir
- 3:11Speaker 1: welcoming me home into glory. And for just a few moments,
- 3:16Speaker 1: my burden seems to fade and my heart is filled
- 3:20Speaker 1: with hope instead of worry. Would you please play this
- 3:24Speaker 1: song of praise for me and for all the others
- 3:28Speaker 1: who may be facing the reality that Heaven is closer
- 3:32Speaker 1: than we think. I believe there are many of us
- 3:36Speaker 1: who need to be reminded that our greatest days are
- 3:40Speaker 1: still ahead, and that what awaits us in Christ far
- 3:45Speaker 1: outweighs anything we endure here. Thank you for faithfully pointing
- 3:51Speaker 1: people to Jesus and for reminding us that this world
- 3:55Speaker 1: is not our home. May God continue to bless you,
- 3:59Speaker 1: your family, and your ministry in Christ. And as I said,
- 4:03Speaker 1: a grateful listener. And you know, letters like this they
- 4:07Speaker 1: have a way of putting life into perspective. At least
- 4:09Speaker 1: they do for me. We spend so much of our
- 4:12Speaker 1: time thinking about tomorrow, but sometimes the Lord reminds us
- 4:17Speaker 1: that heaven is not just a promise for some day
- 4:21Speaker 1: it's a home. It's the home he's preparing for every
- 4:26Speaker 1: child of God. The apostle Paul wrote in Second Corinthians,
- 4:30Speaker 1: chapter four, I want you to listen to what it said,
- 4:33Speaker 1: because it kind of ties into this letter from this brother.
- 4:37Speaker 1: For our light afflictions, which is but for a moment,
- 4:41Speaker 1: worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight
- 4:46Speaker 1: of glory. While we look not at the things which
- 4:50Speaker 1: are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
- 4:55Speaker 1: See today, I just want us to be reminded in
- 4:59Speaker 1: these little front point moments that we have that every
- 5:01Speaker 1: struggle we face here is temporary, but what God has
- 5:05Speaker 1: prepared for his children that's eternal. So this morning, if
- 5:10Speaker 1: you're walking through difficult season today, if your body is weary,
- 5:15Speaker 1: if your heart is heavy, or if you found yourself
- 5:18Speaker 1: thinking more about eternity than you ever have before, then
- 5:22Speaker 1: this song is also for you. And as you listen
- 5:26Speaker 1: to it this morning, I pray that you'll just take
- 5:28Speaker 1: a little time Jesus, allow the Lord to speak to
- 5:32Speaker 1: you through the lyrics, through the melody, through just the
- 5:35Speaker 1: power of the Holy Spirit. I don't think we take
- 5:39Speaker 1: enough time to slow down to soak in what the
- 5:43Speaker 1: Lord is really trying to say to us in the
- 5:46Speaker 1: moments that we have. So today you be safe, you
- 5:50Speaker 1: be strong, and you be blessed, and you take just
- 5:55Speaker 1: a moment this morning to thank the Lord Jesus Christ,
- 6:00Speaker 1: that when this temporary life is over and this temporary
- 6:03Speaker 1: body is laid down, we have an eternal home with Him.
- 6:08Speaker 1: And far beyond what we can see, there's a home
- 6:13Speaker 1: that waits for all of us. And I hope you
- 6:17Speaker 1: enjoy this song of praise.
- 6:33Speaker 2: When the morning light is breaking.
- 6:39Speaker 3: And mercy shines.
- 6:41Speaker 2: So clear, I hear the quiet whisper of your prison stroy,
- 6:56Speaker 2: every bread you give, this kind, every steps by your praise.
- 7:07Speaker 2: So I left my heart.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Wordship and beginning the song of praise. Fay I can see.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Is a home that like ex for.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Me in the joy ore in the pain, your love
- 7:37Speaker 5: remains the same. So for all monys, I will sing
- 7:48Speaker 5: this song of praise to you.
- 7:54Speaker 4: For a through the vairs and the mountains. You have
- 8:09Speaker 4: always been my guys.
- 8:14Speaker 3: In the storms and instillments, you standing by my side.
- 8:26Speaker 4: All the blessings im.
- 8:32Speaker 5: All the mercy you have shown, are the reasons.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I keep seeing only.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Before your throw far beyond, but I can see.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Is a home that waits for me.
- 9:00Speaker 5: In the joy hord of pain. Your love remains the same.
- 9:11Speaker 4: So for all my days I was seeing this song bays.
