- 0:00Welcome to the Rancher Radio Podcast.
- 0:03My name is Jim Watkins. I've been reading the book for
- 0:06over 40 years, and I've got a thing or two to talk about, and
- 0:09we always talk about the revelation.
- 0:12It's a foregone conclusion to me that we're talking about
- 0:15something that's spectacular beyond anybody's wildest
- 0:19imagination. We have in our possession a book
- 0:23that purports to be a revelation of epical proportions, as
- 0:29momentous as the man who revealed truth to Abraham, as
- 0:35profound as the teachings of Christ himself as they were
- 0:40given to his apostles during the 1st century, and as timely as
- 0:46the arrival of Adam and Eve as the material representative of
- 0:52the spiritual Kingdom. That's how big this is.
- 0:56It's pretty big, so in a minute, it's Father's Day and I can't
- 1:00think of a better time to talk about the Father's spirit as we
- 1:04give honor to our Father in heaven.
- 1:06That's what we're going to talk about this time up on the
- 1:09Arrancha Radio podcast. Have you ever wondered why a
- 1:44deity of infinite potential would care to inhabit the soul
- 1:51of a human being? What is it that the deity, the
- 1:56Father in heaven, our first source and senator, why would
- 2:00would such a grand and eternal being want to stoop so low in
- 2:09the creative arc hierarchy to actually inhibit the mind of an
- 2:15animal that's just slightly above a beast?
- 2:18Isn't that amazing? I mean, I, I have been thinking
- 2:21about that and I've been thinking about free will and
- 2:25some discussions that we've had, particularly with Byron
- 2:28Ballezos. If you go back a couple of
- 2:31episodes, Byron and I have gotten in some real good
- 2:34discussions about this very debate about free will, about
- 2:39the endowment of, of God. And it's a pretty spectacular
- 2:45concept when you think about the fact that deity has chosen to
- 2:51inhabit the will of the human being, and not just one human
- 2:55being, but all beings of sole potential.
- 3:00And you ask yourself, why would he do that?
- 3:02What would be the reason for him to do that?
- 3:06Certainly he knows everything, right?
- 3:08That's what Thomas Aquinas argued and Byron talks about.
- 3:14How free will is is such an important caveat because it's
- 3:17only with free will that we are able to make moral choices.
- 3:23Animals that don't have free will, that are automatic
- 3:26function on a motor function level or a motor level of
- 3:29function aren't morally discerning.
- 3:33They're just reacting to the impulses that more often than
- 3:38not just guarantee them self preservation.
- 3:41And that is actually true of the human condition as well.
- 3:45Many people that are not spiritual at all are really just
- 3:49living on a motor function, motor level of function.
- 3:53And their primary goal is self preservation.
- 3:58But it's that element of free will, the element of the spirit
- 4:01endowment. And this is what the the framers
- 4:04of the US Constitution were betting on.
- 4:07Because up until that point, no, no one had really given thought
- 4:11as to where a person's rights come from or whether a person
- 4:16was entitled to certain liberties.
- 4:20And it was because some very smart men at the, at the end of
- 4:26the Enlightenment period had decided not to throw the baby
- 4:30out with the bathwater. And what I mean by that is that
- 4:34the Enlightenment basically was the birth of secularism in our
- 4:39country and in Western society. It was a breaking off of the
- 4:44shackles of the authoritative church.
- 4:46And we learn this not only from our own history books, but the
- 4:50Urantia book goes into great detail when it talks about
- 4:53materialism and secularism being a reaction to the church.
- 4:58Because the church from about, I don't know, 800 AD to 1600, they
- 5:03had such a grip on, on human activity, but their authority
- 5:10came from divinity. Their, they, they, their
- 5:14authority came from God, and they were able to use that as a
- 5:18way of controlling and dominating and outright
- 5:22oppressing human beings for hundreds of years.
- 5:24And so when secularism and the the Age of Enlightenment and
- 5:28science was starting to be a thing, and people were reading
- 5:31now because we'd had the press and we had books now that were
- 5:34being distributed, and people started to realize that the
- 5:37Earth was not the center of the universe.
- 5:41In fact, what they realized is that the Earth is a very small
- 5:43fraction of the universe and that the universe is doing its
- 5:47own thing. We're just innocent bystanders.
- 5:51But when they threw out the shackles and unleashed the
- 5:54chains of ecclesiastical authority, and I'm just
- 5:57commenting on this, they threw the baby out with the bathwater.
- 6:01But there were a few people who were smart enough to realize
- 6:04that if our rights and our inheritance comes from man, and
- 6:11man is so easily corruptible, then civilization will never
- 6:16evolve beyond just simple self preservation.
- 6:21The more bestial tendencies of human life is to survive at all
- 6:25costs. And that is not restricted to
- 6:28people who who grow in political power.
- 6:31They're also fighting for their own self preservation.
- 6:34They want to continue to rule. And I'm bringing this up
- 6:38partially because having given thought to all this, I have
- 6:41decided to write my third book and this book for you insiders.
- 6:47This next book, which is at this point the working title is
- 6:51Secularism, How secularism will destroy society eventually.
- 7:01And it's because I, I gave a lot of thought to free will and the
- 7:05mind arena of choice and the fragment of God that that's in
- 7:09US. And so on Father's Day, I want
- 7:13to spend all of our time thinking about why the Father
- 7:17cares so much about us that he's willing to put a fragment of his
- 7:23spirit and give it to us. And it's that distinguishing
- 7:26birthmark that ensures that we have a civilization that honors
- 7:32the individual's right to free will.
- 7:36We are free will creatures, just like God is a free will creator.
- 7:42We are endowed by his Spirit, and that's what gives us grace,
- 7:47and it's what gives us justification to be able to say
- 7:50I am. I am.
- 7:53I am entitled to freedom. Freedom of speech, freedom of
- 7:56thought, freedom of the exchange of ideas, freedom of movement,
- 8:00freedom to own private property. You know, it's also interesting
- 8:05in the Urania book where it talks about the development of
- 8:07the modern civilization, it talks about the fact on the
- 8:12affirmative. In other words, it's agreeing
- 8:14with the assessment that human beings are entitled to private
- 8:17property. They're entitled to keep what
- 8:20they earn. They're not obligated to serve
- 8:22an oppressor or totalitarian regime.
- 8:25In fact, they even say that communism in and of itself is
- 8:28not something that is acceptable in the higher realms.
- 8:32So we're getting close. But if we didn't have that, that
- 8:35birthmark, that spiritual birthmark of being endowed by
- 8:39our creator, and if we hadn't had men and women of the 16th
- 8:44and 17th century, and thank God, we should also celebrate the
- 8:48Magna Carta because that's also, it's been about 800 years to
- 8:51this day that the Magna Carta was signed.
- 8:53And that was really the beginnings of, of a journey that
- 8:57would end with the understanding that man had inalienable rights
- 9:01to be free, to be free from being accosted, being arrested,
- 9:06so forth. So I, I'm excited about it
- 9:10spiritually. I, I, I've got all this energy
- 9:12and I want to, before I, I get to the main fulcrum of what I
- 9:16want to talk about, because I'm going to read from a section of
- 9:19the paper and it talks about this very free will.
- 9:22And that's going to be the thought of of the day I want to
- 9:27play this clip from Bill Sadler Junior.
- 9:30I've played it before on on the podcast.
- 9:33Bill Sadler, for those who don't know, is the son of William and
- 9:37Lena Sadler. And William and Lena Sadler were
- 9:41the two individuals that came into contact with the sleeping
- 9:44subject that's talked about in the Urantia book that acted as
- 9:48the conduit to the eventual writings of the 5th epochal
- 9:52revelation, the sleeping subject.
- 9:55It's questionable whether he wrote it or if it was written by
- 9:58the hands of midwayers, but either way, he was the
- 10:01communique, if you will. And many spiritual personalities
- 10:06were able to communicate to William and Bill or William and
- 10:10Lena. And they from there founded the
- 10:14the original group of people who reviewed the Uranja book as the
- 10:18papers began appearing. And so Bill Sadler obviously was
- 10:22part of that original Commission and the contact Commission.
- 10:26And he went on a tour for, for decades in the 50s and the 60s
- 10:31and meeting with study groups all across the country.
- 10:34And this is a, a clip, I think 1959 or so.
- 10:39And he's talking about the fragment of the Father, the
- 10:43fragment, the spirit fragment with the Urantia book oftentimes
- 10:46refers to as the thought adjuster, the spirit fragment of
- 10:51the Father. And I.
- 10:52And I think you'll enjoy this. Take a listen because it'll help
- 10:55you understand what I'm about to tell you from the Urantia book
- 10:58when it talks about free will and the mind arena of choice.
- 11:01But listen to these these very comforting statements from Bill.
- 11:05I think of the the best way I can think of a thought of
- 11:08gesture is like this. Let this card symbolize God.
- 11:16There's a thought of gesture. It's a piece of God.
- 11:21It's not all of God, but from a qualitative standpoint, it's
- 11:28God's nature as that little fragment of that card is of the
- 11:32nature of the card. Very frankly, I don't take up
- 11:39very many problems with God. I'm a little bit abashed.
- 11:46I mean, I'm not in the least afraid of God.
- 11:48He's too big. If he were only about 10% of his
- 11:51size, I could be afraid of him. But he's entirely too big to be
- 11:54afraid of. And I understand intellectually
- 11:58that he's infinite and that he has just as much time for me as
- 12:02if I were the only creature in all existence.
- 12:05This I understand, but I'm a little abashed at taking up his
- 12:09time nevertheless. But I've got this thought of
- 12:12gesture and I'm not. I'm not abashed about taking up
- 12:17his time because I am his business.
- 12:20You follow me, he's my partner. It's not a a a unique
- 12:25perspective from the late Bill Sadler Junior talking about that
- 12:30fragment of God that's in each one of us.
- 12:33And at the beginning I asked, why would God want to put a
- 12:35fragment in US? And then when you think about
- 12:39the fact that it's that fragment of God that entitles us to free
- 12:43will so that we can choose to be morally good.
- 12:46And that's the the premise of a civilization.
- 12:50And so before I read this mind arena of choice from Paper 111,
- 12:54which encapsulate what Bill Bill Junior is saying it, it's the
- 12:59book that I'm writing is called Godless, how secularism will
- 13:03destroy civilization. And if you're a Urantia book
- 13:05reader, you're, you're no doubt going to read this book.
- 13:08It, it doesn't allude to the Urantia book, but so much of
- 13:11what I've gained in the knowledge of, of the thought
- 13:15adjuster and free will and, and its relationship to morality and
- 13:19ethics and values and meanings comes from the Orangi book.
- 13:22So among us chickens, as they say, when I finally published my
- 13:28book, Godless, how secularism will destroy civilization.
- 13:32First of all, I want you to order it when I publish it.
- 13:35And second of all, I want you to enjoy the fact that a lot of its
- 13:38source material was actually based on the Orangi book.
- 13:41So having said that little selfless plug, let's step into
- 13:47this mind arena of choice. And again from paper 111,
- 13:53paragraph one, Section 1, the thought the the thought adjuster
- 13:58is again as Bill Sadler are that spirit.
- 14:01It's that the Christian Church calls it the Spirit of God.
- 14:05It is that same thing. They just called it the thought
- 14:08adjuster because they're explaining that this spirit
- 14:11through our life is constantly trying to spiritize our mortal
- 14:16intellect. It's constantly trying to give
- 14:19us spiritual insight. And so by doing that, it is
- 14:22adjusting our material mind and trying to spiritize it.
- 14:27That's why they call it the thought of gesture.
- 14:30So they say the work of adjusters is spiritual in
- 14:32nature. They must perforce do all their
- 14:35work upon and intellectual foundation.
- 14:38Mind is the human soul from which the spirit monitor must
- 14:42evolve the soul with the cooperation of the indwelt
- 14:45personality. There is a cosmic unity in the
- 14:49several mind levels of the universe of universes.
- 14:53Intellectual cells have their origin in the cosmic mind much
- 14:57as nebula take origin in the cosmic energies of universe
- 15:01space. On the human, hence personal
- 15:05level of intellectual cells, the potential of spirit evolution
- 15:10becomes dominant with the ascent of the mortal mind because of
- 15:16the spiritual endowments of the human personality.
- 15:19Again, that word endowments together with the creative
- 15:23presence of an entity point of absolute value in such human
- 15:28cells. But such a spirit dominance of
- 15:32the material mind is conditioned upon 2 experiences.
- 15:37This mind must have evolved up through the ministry of the
- 15:41seven Adjutant mind spirits. The Material self must choose to
- 15:47cooperate with the indwelling Adjuster in creating and
- 15:51fostering the Morontia Self, the evolutionary and potentially
- 15:57immortal soul. We have to choose to work with
- 16:00God. Choosing material mind is the
- 16:04arena in which human personalities live, are
- 16:08self-conscious, make decisions, choose God or forsake Him,
- 16:13eternalize or destroy themselves.
- 16:16Material evolution has provided you a life machine, your body,
- 16:21the Father Himself has endowed you with the purest spirit
- 16:25reality known in the universe, your thought adjuster.
- 16:30But into your hands, subject to your own decisions, has been
- 16:34given mind, and it is by mind that you live or die.
- 16:40It is within this mind and with this mind that you make those
- 16:45moral decisions which enable you to achieve a juster likeness and
- 16:51that is God likeness. Mortal mind is a temporary
- 16:56intellect system loan to human beings for use during a material
- 17:00lifetime, and as they use this mind they are either accepting
- 17:06or rejecting the potential of eternal existence.
- 17:10Mind is about all you have of universe reality that is subject
- 17:14to your will and the soul. The Mirantious Self will
- 17:19faithfully portray the harvest of the temporal decisions which
- 17:23the mortal Self is making. Human consciousness rests gently
- 17:29upon the electrochemical mechanisms below and delicately
- 17:34touches the spirit mirage energy systems above.
- 17:38Of neither of these two systems is the human being ever
- 17:41completely conscious in his mortal life, therefore must he
- 17:45work in mind of which he is conscious.
- 17:48And it is not so much what mind comprehends as what mind desires
- 17:53to comprehend that ensures survival.
- 17:57It is not so much what a mind is like is what a mind is striving
- 18:01to be like that constitutes spirit identification.
- 18:06It is not so much that man is conscious of God as that man
- 18:10yearns for God. That results in universe
- 18:13ascension. What you are today is not so
- 18:16important as what you are becoming day by day and in
- 18:20eternity. Mind is the cosmic instrument on
- 18:24which the human will can play the discords of destruction, or
- 18:28upon which the same human will can bring forth the exquisite
- 18:32melodies of God, identification and consequent eternal survival.
- 18:38The adjuster bestowed upon man is, in the last analysis,
- 18:42impervious to evil and incapable of sin.
- 18:46But mortal mind can actually be twisted, distorted and rendered
- 18:49evil and ugly by the sinful machinations of a perverse and
- 18:54self seeking human will. Likewise can this mind be made
- 18:59noble, beautiful, true and good, actually great in accordance
- 19:05with the spirit illuminated will of a God knowing human being.
- 19:11There's more, but it's it's so much.
- 19:15I'll I'll conclude with this. Mind is your ship, the adjuster
- 19:20is your pilot. The human will is captive.
- 19:23The master of the mortal vessel should have the wisdom to trust
- 19:26the divine pilot to guide the ascending soul into the morancha
- 19:31harbors of eternal survival. Only by selfishness,
- 19:35slothfulness, and sinfulness can the will of man reject the
- 19:39guidance of such a loving pilot and eventually wreck the mortal
- 19:43career upon the evil Shoals of rejected mercy and upon the
- 19:47rocks of embraced sin. With your consent, this faithful
- 19:53pilot will safely carry you across the barriers of time and
- 19:57the handicaps of space to the very source of the divine mind
- 20:02and on beyond, even to the Paradise Father of Adjusters.
- 20:09Now if that's not some real poetry, I don't know what is,
- 20:13but I hope you'll give it 5 minutes of contemplation today
- 20:16and that would be constituting your Christmas card or your
- 20:19Father's Day card to God. Well, this has been a moving
- 20:25episode for me. I don't know about you, but I
- 20:27need to go take a break. So I'll see you again soon.
- 20:32Keep the emails coming. Love hearing from you and more
- 20:35great episodes to come here on the Urancha Radio podcast.
