Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: So Pete Higsith was out overnight. Rickins, the ceasefire will hold.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Now we have a chance at real peace and a
- 0:06Speaker 2: real deal. The War Department four now four now has
- 0:10Speaker 2: done its part. We stand ready in the background to
- 0:14Speaker 2: ensure Iran upholds every reasonable term. And as everyone knows,
- 0:19Speaker 2: nobody makes a better deal than President Trump.
- 0:22Speaker 1: There's got a Malcolm Nance, intelligence foreign policy analyst and
- 0:25Speaker 1: former United States Navy senior chief Malcolm nice to have
- 0:28Speaker 1: you on the program. What are your thoughts, What are
- 0:32Speaker 1: your thoughts? What are your feelings about the chance of
- 0:34Speaker 1: this thing's going to hold?
- 0:37Speaker 3: I should expect it's going to hold principally because the
- 0:40Speaker 3: global economy could not take much more of this. And
- 0:44Speaker 3: that's where Donald Trump's real pressures came from. That came
- 0:47Speaker 3: from the people who were saying that, you know, the
- 0:50Speaker 3: entire world system could have gone into recession. The oil
- 0:55Speaker 3: that was coming out of the Gulf was being limited.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Natural gas have been cut off twenty percent. You know,
- 1:00Speaker 3: it's like doing a you know, one of those vulcan
- 1:03Speaker 3: pressure holds on your corot at artery. You know, you
- 1:06Speaker 3: might be able to hold it for a while, which
- 1:07Speaker 3: you can't hold it forever you said, you're going to
- 1:09Speaker 3: start killing the system. So I don't I think Trump
- 1:12Speaker 3: was trapped. He had to take this deal, and now
- 1:14Speaker 3: the worst part is a round comes out of it stronger.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Well, we think. And the White House is saying that
- 1:21Speaker 1: the ten point plan that everyone's talking about is not
- 1:23Speaker 1: the ten point plan that they've signed up to.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and I've noticed that they said that after they
- 1:32Speaker 3: had already written. Donald Trump had retweeted Minister around she
- 1:37Speaker 3: the previous bar Minister's statement which said the basis of
- 1:43Speaker 3: it was the original fifteen point plan lost. The ten
- 1:46Speaker 3: point plan that around it sad set and that's supposed
- 1:49Speaker 3: to be the basis of negotiations. The fifteen point plan
- 1:53Speaker 3: wasn't any better. So you know, if Trump took this
- 1:57Speaker 3: as an off ramp to stop the collapse of the
- 1:59Speaker 3: world economy to save money for his friends, you know,
- 2:03Speaker 3: the Gulf States lost brillions in market capital with these attacks.
- 2:08Speaker 3: He's going to have to deal with what's been played
- 2:10Speaker 3: now because there's no restarting this war. It will collapse
- 2:13Speaker 3: the global of global economy if they do it again.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Which begs the question was it worth doing in the
- 2:18Speaker 1: first place.
- 2:21Speaker 3: No, and they should never have done it in the
- 2:22Speaker 3: first place. Look, they have been preparing for this war
- 2:26Speaker 3: since nineteen forties, since nineteen seventy nine, forty seven years.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I fought the Iranians multiple times in the Persian Gulf
- 2:33Speaker 3: during the nineteen eighties, and it was very clear back
- 2:37Speaker 3: then their geographic choke hold was over the straight Oh Hormons.
- 2:42Speaker 3: This was done almost haphazardly. They didn't consult anybody, and
- 2:48Speaker 3: they didn't listen to the advice of military planners. We
- 2:51Speaker 3: are awesome, America at blowing things up. We're apparently really
- 2:55Speaker 3: awful at meeting our stated objectives.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Malcolm Nance, intelligent foreign policy analysts and former United States
- 3:02Speaker 1: Navy senior chief. Nice to have you on the program.
