- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six eighty four through No. Six
- 0:15Speaker 1: eighty five through six eighty seven. Steady progress, Loofy's Army
- 0:21Speaker 1: versus Pica, a shocking confession, laws soulful Now, and a
- 0:27Speaker 1: big collision Chief of Staff Sabo versus Admiral Fujitura. In
- 0:34Speaker 1: these episodes, we have got some Zoro on Pika action.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We have got our friend Moose still being adorable. We
- 0:45Speaker 1: have got so like, very little real forward movement here,
- 0:51Speaker 1: but lots of fun and silly character moments, So I'm
- 0:56Speaker 1: into it. Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for
- 1:22Speaker 1: commissioning this episode. Saraphim is here in the chat and
- 1:26Speaker 1: has said that they want to answer a question from
- 1:30Speaker 1: last time about Fuji Torah. The scene was laying out
- 1:35Speaker 1: what his motivation in this is the whole Do they
- 1:38Speaker 1: think their God's line got the reaction it did because yes,
- 1:42Speaker 1: world government dogma is that the celestial dragons are gods.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Even questioning that is blasphemy. This was making clear he
- 1:51Speaker 1: is fully calling out the government for them letting this happen,
- 1:55Speaker 1: and him siding with the rightfully pissed off regular people
- 1:58Speaker 1: paying the price. Okay, the people he had his marines
- 2:03Speaker 1: rounding up are the ones Dophy is puppeting to restrain
- 2:06Speaker 1: them and stop them from hurting other people.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Okay, So.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I see what you're saying, and I think that that
- 2:16Speaker 1: makes sense.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I wish that it was a.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Little bit more established, that the way things work with
- 2:27Speaker 1: the celestial dragons being considered gods was more like we have.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I think the deal for me is that the celestial
- 2:37Speaker 1: dragons are sort of late comers in the series. We
- 2:41Speaker 1: really only saw them like in the lead up to
- 2:46Speaker 1: the two year split, and since then we haven't had
- 2:50Speaker 1: a lot of exposure to them, and I think that
- 2:54Speaker 1: my understanding of the way that they are viewed and
- 2:57Speaker 1: how talking about them is seen with like regard to
- 3:01Speaker 1: their being celestial beings allegedly is just it's not fully
- 3:09Speaker 1: ingrained in me as a viewer, so that when he
- 3:13Speaker 1: decides to fly in the face of that, it lacks
- 3:15Speaker 1: the punch that it might have if they had decided
- 3:19Speaker 1: to sort of like hammer home a little bit more.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Because I think my issue there's almost never any talk
- 3:27Speaker 1: of the celestial dragons amongst like regular people in a
- 3:33Speaker 1: way that feels like they are revered or treated as
- 3:36Speaker 1: gods by anybody. The only time that we have really
- 3:39Speaker 1: seen them is in regard to the slave trade on
- 3:44Speaker 1: I can't remember the name of the island, but you know,
- 3:47Speaker 1: we saw how they treat people and the fact that
- 3:52Speaker 1: they are clearly despised and hated by the folks that
- 3:57Speaker 1: are near them because of how they be, and so
- 4:01Speaker 1: the idea that like calling them out as not actually
- 4:05Speaker 1: being gods would be seen as blasphemous. While that may
- 4:10Speaker 1: literally be true, it doesn't feel true based on the
- 4:13Speaker 1: way that I saw everyone responding to them. There was
- 4:20Speaker 1: just I mean, people are afraid of them, and they
- 4:23Speaker 1: were catering to them because of their power and their money.
- 4:27Speaker 1: But I never really saw there be like any pretense
- 4:32Speaker 1: amongst anybody that they're really gods. So I feel like
- 4:37Speaker 1: I think that might be sort of the weak spot
- 4:39Speaker 1: for me in the arc that we're currently dealing with
- 4:43Speaker 1: is that the celestial dragons are clearly bastards and they
- 4:47Speaker 1: definitely need to be taken down. But I feel like
- 4:52Speaker 1: we've only been given a drop in the grand scheme
- 4:58Speaker 1: of the show, and it isn't enough to sustain a
- 5:03Speaker 1: feeling of urgency to me in regard to like handling
- 5:08Speaker 1: them as characters. They just we've really the only one
- 5:14Speaker 1: that we really met is the one that Lofy punches,
- 5:18Speaker 1: who is such a complete like caricature.
- 5:23Speaker 2: The idea that anybody.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Thinks that guy is a god is it just doesn't
- 5:29Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So I understand the point
- 5:32Speaker 1: is supposed to be that, of course they're not gods,
- 5:35Speaker 1: and it's supposed to be sort of ludicrous they're seen
- 5:38Speaker 1: as gods because they are, you know. But I just
- 5:42Speaker 1: don't feel it in universe in the way that I
- 5:45Speaker 1: think I should. If that scene was supposed to hit
- 5:49Speaker 1: that way, I think that's just a failure in the
- 5:53Speaker 1: storytelling in my opinion. So I believe your assertion and
- 6:00Speaker 1: I think it's correct. I'm not like arguing the point.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I just don't really feel like that works on a
- 6:07Speaker 1: visceral level. Let's see serfra goes on. The issue is
- 6:14Speaker 1: more someone in his high position doing so as far
- 6:17Speaker 1: as the rest of the world is concerned. The admirals
- 6:19Speaker 1: of the CD's personal attack dogs avoiding being under them
- 6:23Speaker 1: is Garb's main reason for refusing promotion. Yeah, and someone
- 6:28Speaker 1: in a high position. But like I said, it doesn't
- 6:31Speaker 1: feel like.
- 6:33Speaker 2: This.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I don't feel like this is all that well established.
- 6:38Speaker 1: It just feels like we've been given some really broad
- 6:41Speaker 1: strokes briefly, and then we are supposed to keep all
- 6:45Speaker 1: of that in mind as we move into a whole
- 6:48Speaker 1: different thing and haven't seen them for ages. So I
- 6:54Speaker 1: think that the problem is with the story, with so
- 6:58Speaker 1: many characters and moving parts and stuff and so many episodes,
- 7:03Speaker 1: it really that if you want it to be like
- 7:06Speaker 1: an ongoing thing, you need to keep it fresh in
- 7:09Speaker 1: our minds a little bit more for there to be
- 7:13Speaker 1: a for me to feel like continually invested in it.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And it like the I think that the overall like
- 7:26Speaker 1: involvement of the World government with them and everything, because
- 7:31Speaker 1: whenever we get involved with that part of the story,
- 7:36Speaker 1: it feels like we get another PARADEI of characters with
- 7:39Speaker 1: new names, new powers, a whole thing, and we also
- 7:44Speaker 1: get a kind of big info dump. It takes me
- 7:49Speaker 1: out of the sense of the story mattering, and it
- 7:53Speaker 1: makes me feel like I am in a history lesson
- 7:55Speaker 1: where I have to remember names and dates and the
- 7:58Speaker 1: actual real motivating factors behind why we're doing things that
- 8:03Speaker 1: we're doing gets lost, and I want that to like
- 8:09Speaker 1: exist more consistently in these main arcs, but they don't.
- 8:19Speaker 1: I just don't feel like we have touched on this
- 8:22Speaker 1: enough recently for Fujiitura's speech there to feel like it's
- 8:27Speaker 1: having the effect that you're describing the way that it should,
- 8:31Speaker 1: like if he's making this declaration and really sort of
- 8:35Speaker 1: separating himself from the way the rest of the world
- 8:38Speaker 1: government behaves and it's a momentous statement of his to
- 8:44Speaker 1: be kind of like breaking off and saying this. I
- 8:48Speaker 1: want the way that they are all forced to fall
- 8:53Speaker 1: in line as admirals to have been hammered home more earlier.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And in order for that to be true, we'd have
- 9:05Speaker 1: had to spend more time with the admirals around the
- 9:09Speaker 1: celestial dragons. We'd have to see an admiral kind of
- 9:13Speaker 1: like fly in the face of this a little bit
- 9:15Speaker 1: and get punished, and see the way that people responded
- 9:18Speaker 1: to an admiral who was not handling it the way
- 9:22Speaker 1: everybody else expected it to be handled. Like, I just
- 9:26Speaker 1: it's just sort of odd, And this is where I
- 9:29Speaker 1: keep falling with one piece in general, is for a
- 9:33Speaker 1: story that is so huge and that relies on being
- 9:40Speaker 1: like drawn out so much, that has so many characters,
- 9:46Speaker 1: the ways in which we decide to do the drawing
- 9:50Speaker 1: out feel like a huge waste, because there are a
- 9:56Speaker 1: lot of things that I think could stand to be
- 9:59Speaker 1: fleshed out, a lot more, more characters that we should
- 10:01Speaker 1: really spend more time with, and they could use all
- 10:06Speaker 1: of the time we're meant to have like stretching things
- 10:09Speaker 1: out to go over to those characters and kind of
- 10:12Speaker 1: like flesh other things out a bit more, And instead
- 10:19Speaker 1: it's drawn out in like the most repetitive, boring ways.
- 10:24Speaker 1: And I wish that there was some way to like
- 10:30Speaker 1: have a sort of cutaway scenes every time that there
- 10:34Speaker 1: is a period where we know we can't catch up
- 10:38Speaker 1: with a manga here, we've got to like sort of
- 10:40Speaker 1: be running in place.
- 10:41Speaker 2: That we could have just.
- 10:42Speaker 1: A little backstory on a particular admiral and just get
- 10:45Speaker 1: their story and their history with things, and then jump
- 10:50Speaker 1: to the present again, and it would feel like I'm
- 10:53Speaker 1: getting a more overall sense of this world. It just
- 11:02Speaker 1: I feel like things get squeezed into these tiny little
- 11:07Speaker 1: groupings of episodes. So much is said and established in
- 11:11Speaker 1: this very tight timeframe that I can't fully like wrap
- 11:15Speaker 1: my head around it as I'm trying to cover it.
- 11:17Speaker 1: And then we leave it, and we don't come back
- 11:20Speaker 1: to that thing again for like seventy episodes, and then
- 11:23Speaker 1: it comes back and I'm expected to like sort of
- 11:26Speaker 1: have the same feelings on the thing that I did
- 11:28Speaker 1: when it happened. It has been a really fucking long time,
- 11:33Speaker 1: and I don't have the same emotional reaction to this
- 11:36Speaker 1: stuff because it's been so long that I have half
- 11:39Speaker 1: forgotten a lot of what's.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Going on in this respect.
- 11:43Speaker 1: So I just it just is frustrating for a show
- 11:47Speaker 1: that is so big to say, like, I feel like
- 11:50Speaker 1: we need to do more, but I do.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I feel like we're.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Going big but focusing in some of the wrong places
- 12:01Speaker 1: on a lot of it. It feels like we want
- 12:06Speaker 1: this story to have a certain like gravitas in regard
- 12:11Speaker 1: to certain subject matter, but that isn't being consistently established
- 12:17Speaker 1: enough for it to have an impact, and I think
- 12:22Speaker 1: it could think.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I think that's what's.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Frustrating me, is that, like the potential is all there,
- 12:28Speaker 1: the aspects that you're bringing up. I acknowledged that they
- 12:32Speaker 1: had been established, but they don't feel like they have
- 12:38Speaker 1: continued to be reinforced and re established. It's just been
- 12:44Speaker 1: one time and then it's it almost feels lazy, you know,
- 12:50Speaker 1: like I just need to mention it back here. And
- 12:53Speaker 1: then I think that the problem is if I'm watching
- 12:59Speaker 1: this for the first time and I'm not able to
- 13:02Speaker 1: keep track of all of this, then the way that
- 13:06Speaker 1: you are explaining how this works means that it sort
- 13:09Speaker 1: of relies on repeat viewings and being able to headcanon
- 13:14Speaker 1: things based on the knowledge that you gain after repeat viewings,
- 13:20Speaker 1: which I don't feel is great storytelling. I feel like
- 13:26Speaker 1: if it takes me having to watch hundreds and hundreds
- 13:29Speaker 1: of episodes multiple times for me to keep all of
- 13:33Speaker 1: these different factors in mind, then you are not organizing
- 13:37Speaker 1: your information and your story very well. So the potential
- 13:43Speaker 1: is there, and I just wish that it was being
- 13:47Speaker 1: parsed out in a way that made more sense in
- 13:50Speaker 1: terms of how the stakes should be constantly felt in
- 13:57Speaker 1: a really visceral way. Instead, I am like so disconnected
- 14:05Speaker 1: that this moment of his that should be a big deal.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I'm sort of left cold and puzzled. You explain it
- 14:12Speaker 1: to me and I'm like, oh, okay, I see that,
- 14:15Speaker 1: but I didn't. I clearly didn't feel that, And even
- 14:18Speaker 1: as you're telling it to me, I have to kind
- 14:20Speaker 1: of squint and think back and be like, yeah, I
- 14:24Speaker 1: guess that's true, but it doesn't like, do you know
- 14:29Speaker 1: what I'm saying? The investment from me isn't there, and
- 14:33Speaker 1: it should be. The whole thing with what the Celestial
- 14:36Speaker 1: Dragons is doing with like the slave trade and running
- 14:38Speaker 1: things was really grim and I want that to be
- 14:44Speaker 1: something that is more of a concern to me. But
- 14:47Speaker 1: it feels super hypothetical and distant right now. So yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I think it's It's a really tough thing because this,
- 14:59Speaker 1: the way that my story is handled is just so
- 15:03Speaker 1: beyond anything that I have covered before, anything that I
- 15:07Speaker 1: am familiar with.
- 15:09Speaker 2: The timeline is.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Huge, the number of installments is it just boggles the mind.
- 15:17Speaker 1: So I can understand kind of fumbling this because it's
- 15:25Speaker 1: I don't know how many episodes this guy was planning
- 15:27Speaker 1: on their being from the start, but I could see
- 15:31Speaker 1: things kind of getting away from you when it starts
- 15:33Speaker 1: to reach this level. I just feel like, by now,
- 15:38Speaker 1: if we are still having this issue when you're trying
- 15:42Speaker 1: to get into what feels more of the meat of things.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I need you to start to get it together a
- 15:49Speaker 1: little bit better, my guy, and spend more time on
- 15:53Speaker 1: some of the stuff that you want me to think
- 15:55Speaker 1: really matters here, because it just there's something that's not
- 16:02Speaker 1: quite coming together. And like I said, I've been enjoying
- 16:07Speaker 1: this arc. I really have, so it's not like this
- 16:10Speaker 1: is something that's like killing my overall viewing experience. But
- 16:18Speaker 1: when it comes to these like larger themes that I
- 16:22Speaker 1: feel I should be picking up on, it's just sort
- 16:27Speaker 1: of honestly, you know, this is kind of.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Reminding me of guys.
- 16:29Speaker 1: It's like back in the day. Melanie Lenaro has commissioned
- 16:32Speaker 1: me to cover the Witcher series, the books, not the
- 16:36Speaker 1: TV show, and I had a really similar experience with
- 16:42Speaker 1: Witcher because there are all of these political machinations going on,
- 16:48Speaker 1: but the people who are part of that political system
- 16:53Speaker 1: are not like fleshed out very well. It's difficult to
- 16:57Speaker 1: keep them straight. They kind of only popen to do
- 17:00Speaker 1: some you know, real like heinous shit and then pop
- 17:04Speaker 1: out again. And they are, in my opinion, by far,
- 17:09Speaker 1: the least interesting part of the Witcher. But they are
- 17:13Speaker 1: still we have to like do our little asides and
- 17:16Speaker 1: deal with them and sort of slow down on the
- 17:18Speaker 1: action and the parts of things that I really care about.
- 17:21Speaker 1: So it's kind of a similar thing where like what
- 17:26Speaker 1: I'm invested in is Lufi and his people and this
- 17:31Speaker 1: greater issue with the celestial dragons and taking them down.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Do I believe that our guys would be invested in
- 17:38Speaker 1: doing this, absolutely, especially after everything that they went through.
- 17:42Speaker 1: But do I feel they're like devotion to that cause
- 17:50Speaker 1: in the in the arcs, No, not at all. They're
- 17:54Speaker 1: going from like the real feeling is that they keep
- 18:00Speaker 1: stumbling into being on the track to deal with the
- 18:05Speaker 1: celestial dragons by accident based on other folks around them
- 18:09Speaker 1: who actually have a plan, and they just, you know,
- 18:14Speaker 1: with law wound up accidentally sort of involved.
- 18:18Speaker 2: But they're.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Being like personally really engaged on it, not at all
- 18:29Speaker 1: barely Like with Loofy, it almost just feels really personal
- 18:34Speaker 1: because of the encounter that he had with punching that
- 18:38Speaker 1: one in the face. It's like, I don't even know
- 18:42Speaker 1: if Lufy fully grasps what the dragons are, like the
- 18:46Speaker 1: effect that they're having on the world. It kind of
- 18:49Speaker 1: feels like Lufy is still so childlike in some ways
- 18:53Speaker 1: that it's just like, oh, yeah, I really hated that
- 18:55Speaker 1: one guy, so I want to take him out, you know.
- 18:58Speaker 1: And I don't know if, like we're if this series
- 19:04Speaker 1: is the type of thing where Loofy is going to.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Kind of grow and see the big picture a.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Little bit more clearly as like a goal for himself,
- 19:15Speaker 1: if that's the kind of story we're doing.
- 19:17Speaker 2: But I don't know. I just.
- 19:22Speaker 1: There's something about this like larger overarching world government celestial
- 19:27Speaker 1: dragon storyline that is like not quite jelling. But anyway, okay,
- 19:34Speaker 1: So something that I had forgotten to mention about the
- 19:36Speaker 1: last episodes too was when or maybe I did mention it,
- 19:41Speaker 1: I don't remember now, But like, we have to climb
- 19:44Speaker 1: up the sides of this huge plateau that our guys
- 19:46Speaker 1: are hiding on, and Robin does that thing with her
- 19:50Speaker 1: arms where she makes like a net for everybody to climb,
- 19:53Speaker 1: And I had just really expected, because we've got all
- 19:57Speaker 1: of these little people, that she would hand them from
- 20:00Speaker 1: one hand to another, and instead making everybody climb just
- 20:03Speaker 1: seems a lot less efficient. But I think the reason
- 20:07Speaker 1: that we did it this way is because then we
- 20:10Speaker 1: have to have all of them chased up by the
- 20:15Speaker 1: bad guys who are trying to take out these you know,
- 20:19Speaker 1: one in five star people who are on the webbing,
- 20:25Speaker 1: so to speak, the latter. And it's so funny because
- 20:32Speaker 1: it just does that thing where it takes a long
- 20:35Speaker 1: time to get to the place that we're obviously going,
- 20:38Speaker 1: which is that we are going to get rid of
- 20:42Speaker 1: this webbing, and all of these guys are like climbing
- 20:45Speaker 1: up after them, failing utterly to consider the fact that
- 20:50Speaker 1: you are climbing on the body provided by somebody you
- 20:54Speaker 1: are trying to catch. So what exactly do you think, Like,
- 20:58Speaker 1: let's say that they did catch with her on this ladder,
- 21:02Speaker 1: what do they think is going to happen when they
- 21:05Speaker 1: catch her? These men are not smart, they have not
- 21:07Speaker 1: thought ahead at all. But of course, and finally she
- 21:11Speaker 1: is just like, why don't I just take this away?
- 21:14Speaker 1: And she watches all of them fall and just does
- 21:17Speaker 1: a little oops. And it's so funny because she says oops,
- 21:21Speaker 1: and Bartolomeo just yells so classy about her, And I
- 21:26Speaker 1: was like classy just because she said oops?
- 21:28Speaker 2: Is that why? Like I was a little bit puzzled
- 21:30Speaker 2: on that.
- 21:31Speaker 1: One, And when they reached the top, Bartolomeo apparently was
- 21:37Speaker 1: like under the impression that Lufy was still going to
- 21:41Speaker 1: be at the top, and he's looking around for Loofy,
- 21:45Speaker 1: and finally it's just like he's not here, and Robin's like,
- 21:48Speaker 1: of course he's not here, and he's.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Like, why didn't you tell me?
- 21:52Speaker 1: And Oosap, who is like barely conscious, still just says
- 21:56Speaker 1: he never stays in one place for more than five
- 21:59Speaker 1: minutes at a time, at which point Bartolomeo goes gaga
- 22:03Speaker 1: again and it's just like, oh my god, such freedom.
- 22:06Speaker 1: He's got it all figured out. Bartolomeo continues to be
- 22:11Speaker 1: like a real MVP of this arc every time that
- 22:14Speaker 1: we go over to him, after the way that he
- 22:16Speaker 1: was just established as such a tough guy. It is
- 22:21Speaker 1: wonderful to have this turn the corner that it has turned.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I really really enjoy it a lot. So the other
- 22:31Speaker 1: thing that's happening is that uh Loofy is still up
- 22:36Speaker 1: against Pica and still being pursued by a bunch of
- 22:40Speaker 1: other guys who had been in the arena who want
- 22:44Speaker 1: to fight do Filmingo themselves and take him out and
- 22:48Speaker 1: have the glory for themselves. And earlier his arm got
- 22:54Speaker 1: cut off, but uh, Pica's I mean, but it grows
- 22:58Speaker 1: right back, which doesn't surprise me too much, And Loofy
- 23:03Speaker 1: decides that he is going to do a third gear punch,
- 23:09Speaker 1: which everybody around him is trying to keep him from
- 23:12Speaker 1: doing because they think that it's suicide. But he goes
- 23:15Speaker 1: right on in there punches Pika in the face and
- 23:19Speaker 1: it crushes his face and his whole head begins to
- 23:22Speaker 1: fall apart, and it seems to like freeze him up
- 23:25Speaker 1: for a little bit, but we find out later that
- 23:29Speaker 1: wasn't Pika's actual head, that was just a.
- 23:35Speaker 2: That was just a.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Rockhead, I guess, is really the only way to say that.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I find it very funny. So you guys, Pica's voice
- 23:45Speaker 1: like it would be one thing if it was just
- 23:47Speaker 1: high pitched, but it's like high pitched and grating. It's
- 23:50Speaker 1: a really fun combination that.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I really like a lot.
- 23:54Speaker 1: But there was a point in this section that got
- 23:59Speaker 1: me fucking cracking up so bad. If any of you
- 24:03Speaker 1: listening like stand up, I really recommend I think it's
- 24:07Speaker 1: on Netflix. Brian Reagan had a stand up come out
- 24:12Speaker 1: last year, maybe the year before. Brian Reagan is a
- 24:16Speaker 1: comic who does almost in I think, entirely clean sets.
- 24:21Speaker 1: There's like no swearing, or if there is, it's quite minimal,
- 24:28Speaker 1: doesn't really tell dirty jokes. It's always like there's a
- 24:33Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong of course with like dirty jokes and swearing.
- 24:36Speaker 1: God knows, I don't care, but I do think that
- 24:39Speaker 1: there is like sometimes an extra challenge in that and
- 24:42Speaker 1: writing something. And he does this one bit about how
- 24:49Speaker 1: every time that he says he doesn't like raisins, people
- 24:54Speaker 1: think they're being really clever and go, do you like great, Well,
- 25:01Speaker 1: reasons are just dried grapes, And he goes into this
- 25:07Speaker 1: like incredibly irritating voice when he says this line that
- 25:14Speaker 1: Owen and I, now, anytime somebody thinks they're being really
- 25:18Speaker 1: fucking clever in like a comment section, we'll say that,
- 25:22Speaker 1: we'll like read the line from the comment in that
- 25:25Speaker 1: exact same tone of voice to each other. So it's
- 25:29Speaker 1: like burned into my brain now. And at one point
- 25:33Speaker 1: Pica says, I'm gonna crush you all like grapes, and
- 25:37Speaker 1: he says grapes in the exact identical tone and inflection
- 25:43Speaker 1: that Brian Reagan used, Pippin' sorry guys canting wandering around here, and.
- 25:51Speaker 2: It was just the most beautiful, little.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Like inside joke sort of moment. I lost my mind.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I was cracking up so bad. This is one of
- 26:00Speaker 1: those where I'm like, I have to remember this and
- 26:04Speaker 1: like go find Owen later and play the moment for
- 26:07Speaker 1: him because he's gonna understand exactly why this made me
- 26:10Speaker 1: laugh so hard.
- 26:13Speaker 2: But yeah, Pica's voice I.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Just such a good example of how even if something
- 26:22Speaker 1: is a trope, it can still work completely.
- 26:27Speaker 2: The big guy a little voice.
- 26:29Speaker 1: One would think this was tired, but they have just
- 26:32Speaker 1: done so well with it that I can't help but
- 26:35Speaker 1: fucking find this delightful.
- 26:37Speaker 2: It is so funny.
- 26:40Speaker 1: So anyway, uh the oh right, right, right. So I'm
- 26:48Speaker 1: trying to make sure that I'm like because like a
- 26:50Speaker 1: lot of this, uh, this trio of episodes, I feel
- 26:52Speaker 1: like I can cover pretty quickly because it's a lot
- 26:54Speaker 1: of just sort of traveling from one place to another,
- 26:57Speaker 1: and it is drawn out this section and has a
- 27:00Speaker 1: lot of things that are sort of like there's even
- 27:05Speaker 1: pretty big sections of it with no sound at all.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Which is really rare for this show.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Oftentimes, when they're doing that stretch out type of thing.
- 27:16Speaker 1: They will have the music going, they will have like
- 27:18Speaker 1: the a a of people's shocked faces, like that sound
- 27:22Speaker 1: effect going on. And there are a few moments where
- 27:25Speaker 1: like Pika's looking for Loofy in like around the city,
- 27:30Speaker 1: trying to locate him, and it's dead quiet, to the
- 27:34Speaker 1: point that I actually checked because I thought sound there
- 27:38Speaker 1: was like a sound problem on my computer while I
- 27:40Speaker 1: was watching, because the scene goes on for long enough
- 27:43Speaker 1: that like with no sound, I was sort of wait,
- 27:45Speaker 1: is this And so anyway, all that said, I feel
- 27:50Speaker 1: like I can talk about a lot of this somewhat easily.
- 27:53Speaker 1: But the overall like thrust of this first of the
- 27:59Speaker 1: three episodes is just Loofy getting into this. Like He's
- 28:07Speaker 1: got these two dudes who are on Moose's back with
- 28:10Speaker 1: him as well, who he keeps being sort of annoyed
- 28:14Speaker 1: are there. But eventually he seems to like kind of
- 28:18Speaker 1: resign himself to the fact that he's not going to
- 28:20Speaker 1: get rid of them. And these dudes are not at
- 28:23Speaker 1: all abashed at the fact that Lufy can't stand them,
- 28:26Speaker 1: because Lufy is very much like just go away, and
- 28:29Speaker 1: they keep on being like you don't mean that, and
- 28:32Speaker 1: I was just I did kind of enjoy this personally, because.
- 28:37Speaker 2: The way that you get used to.
- 28:42Speaker 1: A certain group of people, like always being together on
- 28:45Speaker 1: a TV show can almost be like clickish, And then
- 28:50Speaker 1: you've got these other random characters that turn up out
- 28:53Speaker 1: of nowhere that you don't know very well, and there
- 28:56Speaker 1: is a sort of like what are you even doing here?
- 29:00Speaker 1: You're watching it, you know, like you're not part of
- 29:02Speaker 1: my You're not part of this, like get out of here.
- 29:04Speaker 2: So I did find.
- 29:05Speaker 1: It a little bit amusing that that is a running
- 29:08Speaker 1: joke in this section of just like guys just go
- 29:11Speaker 1: away and Luf being like no, so, oh my god,
- 29:16Speaker 1: I'm sorry saraphim Is in the chat. The only way
- 29:18Speaker 1: they could have made the Pika joke funnier is if
- 29:20Speaker 1: they got the actual Pikachu voice actor to do it.
- 29:23Speaker 2: That would be funny.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I don't know that I would recognize it because I
- 29:26Speaker 1: haven't watched the Pokemon TV show, but I have to
- 29:30Speaker 1: assume it would really Like whether or not you recognize
- 29:33Speaker 1: them for who they are, that would be very funny
- 29:37Speaker 1: just to hear. So at this point, Pika finally begins
- 29:42Speaker 1: to like come up out of the street in incredibly
- 29:47Speaker 1: dramatic fashion, and Zorro was basically like, don't worry about it, Luf,
- 29:53Speaker 1: I've got this guy. I'll handle him because he is,
- 29:56Speaker 1: you know, about to attack poor Moose.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Who Moose is fucking.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Just here for it. I really have to admire this guy.
- 30:07Speaker 1: It's not like he's running in with no fear or anything,
- 30:10Speaker 1: but he's definitely like still down. If this is what
- 30:15Speaker 1: we're doing, then okay, you know. And then all of
- 30:18Speaker 1: a sudden he begins flying and I did not remember
- 30:22Speaker 1: that this dude can fly, but he manages to like
- 30:25Speaker 1: go right over Pica's head, and Zorro is the one
- 30:30Speaker 1: that is left to deal with Pica and I love.
- 30:33Speaker 1: At one point, I think Zoro calls him like soprano
- 30:36Speaker 1: guy something like that.
- 30:41Speaker 2: It is very fun as well.
- 30:44Speaker 1: To see these dudes on Lufy's Moose's back looking over
- 30:53Speaker 1: at Zoro and just being like, he's so cool. You
- 30:57Speaker 1: have such cool friends. It's genuinely delightful. And eventually they
- 31:04Speaker 1: say something about like that they're worried for Zoro, and
- 31:07Speaker 1: Lufy has to be like, don't worry, my friend is
- 31:10Speaker 1: not going to lose to a rock trust me, he's
- 31:13Speaker 1: gonna be fine, and they seem quite impressed with how
- 31:16Speaker 1: certain he is over this.
- 31:20Speaker 2: So let's see, I'm trying to make sure.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Oh right, we have all of these different guys that
- 31:27Speaker 1: are like still out in the mix, trying to get
- 31:30Speaker 1: to do Flamingo first, and there is a lot of
- 31:35Speaker 1: oh my god, what is his name? What is the
- 31:37Speaker 1: pretty blonde guy his name? I know he keeps saying cabbage,
- 31:42Speaker 1: but what is it?
- 31:42Speaker 2: Really?
- 31:43Speaker 1: All I can think is cabbage now.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Cavendish?
- 31:48Speaker 1: Thank you, Sarah, Oh lufy, you poison my brain. The
- 31:56Speaker 1: whole thing with Cavendish that keeps happening is like talking about,
- 32:03Speaker 1: like what an amazing performance he is about to put
- 32:07Speaker 1: on with like catching do Flamingo and he'll die at
- 32:12Speaker 1: my hand, And then the way that others will respond
- 32:16Speaker 1: to what he did, and like him being in the
- 32:18Speaker 1: newspaper and put it in the art gallery. Maybe I
- 32:22Speaker 1: should be on every page. The only problem is I'm
- 32:26Speaker 1: brighter than the cameras, so I can't be captured. And
- 32:30Speaker 1: the way he is falling all over himself in his
- 32:34Speaker 1: own imaginings. Honestly, I love this energy, I really do.
- 32:41Speaker 1: One of the things that I like about this kind
- 32:44Speaker 1: of thing. Isn't just how hilarious a character like this is,
- 32:50Speaker 1: but that there's also, I think sometimes a part of
- 32:55Speaker 1: us that does kind of imagine these sorts of things
- 32:59Speaker 1: not necessary at the scale Cavendish does, because this is
- 33:02Speaker 1: literally how he seems to approach everything he does all day,
- 33:06Speaker 1: every day. But you know what I'm saying, like that
- 33:10Speaker 1: we disappear into these sort of fantasies in our heads
- 33:13Speaker 1: of like the way that something might go down if
- 33:16Speaker 1: everything were to be really perfectly magical. It's like when
- 33:21Speaker 1: I went to see Beyonce with Rashawn last.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Year, I uh, or no, the year before.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I can't remember what year, it doesn't matter. I was
- 33:35Speaker 1: putting together my outfit and I was like, I have
- 33:37Speaker 1: to get this right, and I was talking about the
- 33:39Speaker 1: hat and she was like, why are you so concerned
- 33:41Speaker 1: about this? And I said to her, I was like,
- 33:44Speaker 1: you know, I'm just gonna tell the truth. And I
- 33:46Speaker 1: was like, because Rashan, when from you know, a quarter
- 33:51Speaker 1: mile away, Beyonce on stage spots me in my outfit
- 33:56Speaker 1: up in the stands and points to me and invites
- 33:58Speaker 1: me on stage with her because she loves my outfit
- 34:01Speaker 1: so much. I need to be ready, like.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Like low key.
- 34:07Speaker 1: If I'm being fully honest. That is what I'm imagining
- 34:11Speaker 1: as my best case scenario for this outfit that I'm
- 34:13Speaker 1: putting together, is that Beyonce herself will see me and
- 34:18Speaker 1: be like, I am showcasing your brilliant outfit to the world,
- 34:23Speaker 1: and I can't like, I can't even lie. That is
- 34:27Speaker 1: just how it be in my head sometimes, you know,
- 34:30Speaker 1: so Cavendish in a way is like relatable, but it's
- 34:34Speaker 1: like a very embarrassing cringe way, but it's there.
- 34:37Speaker 2: We all have these.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Cringe tendencies somewhere in us, you know. Oh my god,
- 34:44Speaker 1: these fucking two dudes, they nobody can stand against straw Hat.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Only an idiot would ever get in his way. They're
- 34:53Speaker 1: just like cheering him on and they're so supportive. This
- 34:56Speaker 1: is when he says, like, you guys can get lost.
- 35:00Speaker 2: We know you don't mean that.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Here our buddy, Oh my god, amazing the fucking dude's
- 35:07Speaker 1: coming out saying die it's over right here right now
- 35:12Speaker 1: to loufy, And I'm just like, did you guys see
- 35:14Speaker 1: the fact that he punched Peaka's head off for a second.
- 35:19Speaker 1: It's I genuinely want there to be. I kind of
- 35:24Speaker 1: feel like this would be a fun little series to
- 35:27Speaker 1: do if I were more somebody that did like TikTok skits,
- 35:32Speaker 1: but like.
- 35:35Speaker 2: I would do a.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Little series where I am on the sidelines during a
- 35:40Speaker 1: major fight in some island there on, and I'm a
- 35:46Speaker 1: reporter on the scene who is going up to all
- 35:50Speaker 1: of these various different like henchmen who are about to
- 35:54Speaker 1: challenge Loofy, and I am going, So, you're about to
- 35:59Speaker 1: fight Lufy. You're about to fight the guy who killed
- 36:02Speaker 1: and you know took care of so and so and
- 36:04Speaker 1: so and so, the guy who you just saw do
- 36:07Speaker 1: blank blank blank, and you are going to fight him?
- 36:10Speaker 1: Can I ask what training you have? Can I ask
- 36:12Speaker 1: what special skills you have? Have you eaten a devil fruit?
- 36:16Speaker 1: Like just me kind of pressing them to find out
- 36:19Speaker 1: what they think their advantage is that they're bringing to
- 36:22Speaker 1: the fight, because I cannot imagine, and I don't. I'm
- 36:27Speaker 1: not saying that this is like even a plot hole,
- 36:30Speaker 1: because people are like this, you know, where they just
- 36:33Speaker 1: really have like that kind of main character syndrome and
- 36:37Speaker 1: they think like, well, sure that person seems really tough,
- 36:41Speaker 1: but I've seen Rudy, I know that sometimes just being
- 36:45Speaker 1: fucking like a scrappy determined guy, I'll get you where
- 36:49Speaker 1: you need to go no matter what. And I just
- 36:52Speaker 1: there's absolutely no reason for any of these men coming
- 36:56Speaker 1: up against Loofy to think that they stand any more
- 36:59Speaker 1: of a chance than the other sixty men that he
- 37:01Speaker 1: has like laid out, and yet here they still come.
- 37:07Speaker 2: You know.
- 37:08Speaker 1: It's sort of reminding me of like John Wick, where
- 37:13Speaker 1: the man is surrounded by bodies and these other dudes
- 37:18Speaker 1: still no hesitation in coming for him, and I just
- 37:22Speaker 1: want to be like, what is it like to have
- 37:24Speaker 1: that kind of confidence?
- 37:25Speaker 2: What does it like to live like that? Genuinely, I'm asking.
- 37:31Speaker 1: We occasionally, in the midst of all of this go
- 37:35Speaker 1: touch base again with like do Flamingo's guys and loud
- 37:40Speaker 1: g watching everything, making lots of G jokes.
- 37:44Speaker 2: This is so.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Like, it's the kind of joke I feel shouldn't stay funny,
- 37:52Speaker 1: and still somehow does and eventually have the confrontation between
- 38:03Speaker 1: Fujita and Sabo.
- 38:07Speaker 2: It's sort of weird.
- 38:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest, I think that the face off
- 38:12Speaker 1: between the two of them is the part of this
- 38:18Speaker 1: that fell the most flat for me. And it's not
- 38:21Speaker 1: exactly that I like. I like Sabo, and Fujitura I'm
- 38:27Speaker 1: sort of about but like he's fine. I think it's
- 38:30Speaker 1: just the fact that it clearly has been drawn out
- 38:35Speaker 1: that is quite obvious, and so that's sort of affecting
- 38:40Speaker 1: the pacing of the whole thing together. But eventually, like
- 38:44Speaker 1: Sabo is in the midst of like a crowd of
- 38:48Speaker 1: people that he has taken out, and Fujiitura has told
- 38:52Speaker 1: all of his dudes to sort of back off for
- 38:54Speaker 1: a second, and Sabo says, your leader's right, if you
- 38:57Speaker 1: guys all hit me at once, I feel a thing,
- 39:01Speaker 1: and one of them shoots a bazooka at him. He
- 39:04Speaker 1: lights up and it looks like he's on fire, but
- 39:07Speaker 1: eventually that fire just parts and he's standing there and
- 39:10Speaker 1: he's like, yeah, see, I told you so, I ate
- 39:13Speaker 1: the flame flame fruit. If you didn't know, which evidently
- 39:17Speaker 1: they didn't. I kind of assumed everybody knew, because I
- 39:20Speaker 1: thought that we still had what was happening in the
- 39:24Speaker 1: arena playing on like the big screens all over the place.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Because I know that this one dude whose name I
- 39:30Speaker 1: will never remember, with the weird half helm he was
- 39:36Speaker 1: watching the fight at one point, so I think that
- 39:39Speaker 1: I just assumed that he had kept watching and had
- 39:42Speaker 1: seen the point where Sabo eats the fruit, but yeah,
- 39:46Speaker 1: evidently he didn't.
- 39:48Speaker 2: And there's.
- 39:52Speaker 3: The The response is essentially like, what a shame that
- 39:59Speaker 3: we let the leader of the revolutionary army get a
- 40:03Speaker 3: hold of this fruit.
- 40:04Speaker 2: It shouldn't have been allowed.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Like this should have been something that went to the Marines.
- 40:12Speaker 1: And they all insist on continuing to attack Sabo while
- 40:16Speaker 1: this dude just keeps yelling don't fire. I told you,
- 40:19Speaker 1: don't fire. Why aren't you guys listening to me? And
- 40:24Speaker 1: I was so puzzled at this because I genuinely thought
- 40:28Speaker 1: there was going to be, like, I don't know, some
- 40:32Speaker 1: sort of spell.
- 40:33Speaker 2: It just seems like this guy.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Just utterly lacks control over his men, and there was
- 40:38Speaker 1: something very humiliating about it to me and Sabo, like
- 40:45Speaker 1: he has evidently also got intense strength, which I don't
- 40:48Speaker 1: know if this is supposed to be hockey that he's using,
- 40:50Speaker 1: but he is able to like crush the barrels of
- 40:53Speaker 1: some of these bazukas so that they won't even fire.
- 40:59Speaker 1: And it's just you know, he said he ate the
- 41:01Speaker 1: flame flame fruit, and these dudes are continuing to fire
- 41:04Speaker 1: on him, and I'm like, I thought that ace was
- 41:07Speaker 1: fairly well known. I would think that the flame flame
- 41:11Speaker 1: fruits resulting immunity to fire as a weapon should be
- 41:17Speaker 1: on like the forefront of your minds. I don't know,
- 41:23Speaker 1: Marine Oh.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Is the way he is listed.
- 41:26Speaker 1: This has become quite the tragedy, second in command of
- 41:28Speaker 1: the Revolutionary Army, to think we let someone like him
- 41:32Speaker 1: get that fruit. That's right, that's the way that he
- 41:35Speaker 1: puts it. But Steele, so Marine OH is Bastille or
- 41:43Speaker 1: is it Marine zero. It's hard to tell if that's
- 41:46Speaker 1: a zero or a letter O. But yeah, this is
- 41:51Speaker 1: when he says, you guys all need to step aside
- 41:53Speaker 1: and leave this one to me. And I had no
- 41:57Speaker 1: doubt whatsoever as he steps forward that he is going
- 42:00Speaker 1: to be absolutely spanked. He like has that blade that
- 42:06Speaker 1: slices up entire buildings all around them, which just the
- 42:11Speaker 1: thing that I kept thinking about with this is the
- 42:15Speaker 1: way that in Dresden Files, Harry Dresden describes levels of
- 42:21Speaker 1: ability within the White Council of Wizards and how Harry
- 42:26Speaker 1: himself is like, I have a lot of raw power,
- 42:29Speaker 1: but I do not have fine control over that power.
- 42:34Speaker 1: So you know, I go to blow something up and
- 42:38Speaker 1: I cause a lot of collateral damage. But then there's
- 42:41Speaker 1: somebody like Luccio who uses the force of the same
- 42:46Speaker 1: level and fire mixed in with it, but she makes
- 42:50Speaker 1: it into these laser thin beams that are very, very
- 42:55Speaker 1: precision oriented, and it just shows how much more practice
- 43:01Speaker 1: she has and how much more efficient her magic is.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Because when he has all of this like splash damage,
- 43:10Speaker 1: it's him pouring a bunch of power out in gusha
- 43:15Speaker 1: like bucketfuls, but only a quarter of it or half
- 43:20Speaker 1: of it actually affects the thing he intends to affect.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Whereas Luccio puts out this like pinpoint beam and it
- 43:28Speaker 1: goes exactly where she needs it to go, and so
- 43:31Speaker 1: it is incredibly efficient. Un Thus she is able to
- 43:34Speaker 1: get a lot more done using her ability that way.
- 43:37Speaker 2: And that was what I kept.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Thinking about Bastille and his sword. Here is like he
- 43:42Speaker 1: is swinging this sword and tearing up this entire town
- 43:46Speaker 1: around him, and it just is so wasteful, you know,
- 43:51Speaker 1: It's just all I could think the whole time was
- 43:53Speaker 1: just like, sir, these are people's homes, hasn't enough damage
- 43:57Speaker 1: already been done. Pika is out here like pulling the
- 44:00Speaker 1: ground apart and turning buildings upside down and dumping people
- 44:04Speaker 1: out onto the street. You aren't supposed to be like
- 44:09Speaker 1: just as bad, and here you are just slicing buildings
- 44:13Speaker 1: up and sending them flying.
- 44:15Speaker 2: So uh.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Sabo at this point uses his dragon claw technique, and
- 44:24Speaker 1: when Bastillo swings this huge sword, Sabo catches the sword
- 44:30Speaker 1: blade in his fingers and holds onto it, and it's
- 44:34Speaker 1: a sort of like long stare as his hand trembles
- 44:39Speaker 1: just a little bit against the force of the blade,
- 44:43Speaker 1: and the blade begins to crack and breaks in half.
- 44:51Speaker 1: And then he grabs best Still's head and says, these
- 44:57Speaker 1: fingers grab onto a human head and they can shatter
- 45:01Speaker 1: it to pieces like an egg. Now, I was sort
- 45:05Speaker 1: of hopeful that all he was doing was just to
- 45:07Speaker 1: Bastille's mask to make a point, but there was it
- 45:12Speaker 1: seemed to me like a bit of a look in
- 45:14Speaker 1: his eyes, like he was actually prepared to break this
- 45:17Speaker 1: man's head, which is pretty uh cold blooded. At this point,
- 45:23Speaker 1: Fuji Tora does a one of those comets, and as
- 45:28Speaker 1: it comes down, he's like, uh, well, this is a
- 45:32Speaker 1: bit of a problem, huh, because the comet comes down
- 45:36Speaker 1: and hits the bird cage and just splits into all
- 45:41Speaker 1: of these pieces as it hits it, and so they
- 45:44Speaker 1: get spread into like these disks that are coming down
- 45:48Speaker 1: to like reak absolute havoc on everything. Once again, the
- 45:55Speaker 1: collateral damage. You've got just poor townspeople out here running
- 46:00Speaker 1: way from a huge chunks of this fucking meteor. He's
- 46:05Speaker 1: trying to deal with one dude, one Sabbo, and this
- 46:10Speaker 1: guy has decided to call down an entire meteor and
- 46:14Speaker 1: then is like, wow, uh, this isn't working out how
- 46:18Speaker 1: I plan because of the bird cage. No, sir, it's
- 46:21Speaker 1: because it's a fucking meteor. You didn't have to do that,
- 46:26Speaker 1: like find another way to use this power or handle
- 46:31Speaker 1: this guy. Oh my god, the amount of damage. So
- 46:38Speaker 1: he's literally standing there going, oh, I really should have
- 46:43Speaker 1: thought through that one a little bit better. I don't
- 46:46Speaker 1: even know where all the pieces went. I really made
- 46:49Speaker 1: a mess. Sorry, I swear to god. This is actually
- 46:55Speaker 1: a pretty good metaphor though, for like people with Bonker's
- 46:58Speaker 1: power doing shit without things thinking about it, and then
- 47:00Speaker 1: being genuinely surprised that stuff has gone wrong, Like I
- 47:05Speaker 1: I it's I'm not sure if that's intentionally what we're
- 47:08Speaker 1: doing here, but it feels like that to me. Just
- 47:12Speaker 1: everything stops being real to them after a certain point,
- 47:19Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 47:20Speaker 3: Like the.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Overall scope.
- 47:24Speaker 1: They get too caught up in the big picture. So
- 47:30Speaker 1: Sabo uh appears holding this fucking mask after having taken
- 47:36Speaker 1: Bastille down, and all of his guys are like, are
- 47:40Speaker 1: you okay, sir, and Sabo is just like, I'm still
- 47:45Speaker 1: getting used to my powers. But that did work pretty well.
- 47:50Speaker 1: As he is standing there kind of feeling himself, which
- 47:53Speaker 1: I forgive him for because he has been pretty badass today.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Fujitauras says, you.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Really have caused quite the mess, the absolute nerve, I
- 48:07Speaker 1: swear to God. So this is the point when Fujita
- 48:11Speaker 1: is talking to Sabo and he's like, hey, so I
- 48:14Speaker 1: was thinking about firefist Ace and how you know when
- 48:19Speaker 1: he appeared at Marine Ford he said that straw Hat
- 48:23Speaker 1: Lufy was his brother, but not by blood, and it
- 48:28Speaker 1: got me thinking, maybe you are also Lufy's brother? Is
- 48:34Speaker 1: that right? And we once again get the flashback about
- 48:38Speaker 1: all you need to be brothers is to share some sake.
- 48:42Speaker 2: And uh.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Yeah, he the bit here with Saba Fuchatora says, I
- 48:51Speaker 1: must say, that's a rather troublesome little family you've got there,
- 48:55Speaker 1: and the guys off the side listening say.
- 48:58Speaker 2: One of them is enough.
- 49:00Speaker 1: And when they say one of them is enough, it
- 49:03Speaker 1: cuts to Loofy charging through the smoke on Moose's back
- 49:10Speaker 1: with his like one fist up law draped over Moose's
- 49:17Speaker 1: back with a really irritated expression on his face, and
- 49:21Speaker 1: then the other guys who are riding the back of
- 49:23Speaker 1: Moose like cheering him on. It is honestly a really
- 49:29Speaker 1: great little like I wouldn't mind this as a desktop image.
- 49:32Speaker 1: It's genuinely a really funny like character moment for all involved,
- 49:40Speaker 1: and the idea of all of them being like one
- 49:43Speaker 1: is enough. And then you see this absolute chaos demon
- 49:47Speaker 1: riding this bull. Yeah that makes sense, and.
- 49:54Speaker 2: He says.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Sabo says, mark my word, No matter where I am,
- 49:59Speaker 1: no matter what I'm doing, even if I must abandon
- 50:03Speaker 1: my duties, the moment Loofy needs my help, I'll be there.
- 50:09Speaker 2: And it's just a nice little moment.
- 50:13Speaker 1: I won't let him down, and I'm glad Sabo is
- 50:17Speaker 1: still alive. I do wish that, like well, I was
- 50:21Speaker 1: gonna say, I wish that he had stayed like clear
- 50:24Speaker 1: until Ace was there or Ace was gone. But I'm
- 50:29Speaker 1: making some assumptions. I do think I'm correct though Ace
- 50:35Speaker 1: didn't know Sabo was still alive right like it wasn't
- 50:39Speaker 1: like Ace knew and was keeping it from Loopy. Ace
- 50:41Speaker 1: also didn't know. I am very interested in finding out
- 50:46Speaker 1: what kept Sabo await for so long and why he
- 50:48Speaker 1: felt like he couldn't tell.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Either of them.
- 50:54Speaker 1: But yeah, and we have this weird flashback where it's
- 51:01Speaker 1: like Sabo screaming as he I think it's supposed to
- 51:05Speaker 1: be that he had just read the news that Ace
- 51:08Speaker 1: was dead and him just like falling to his knees
- 51:14Speaker 1: in grief, and the silhouettes of everybody coming to his aid.
- 51:18Speaker 1: But it's just animated in an odd way where it
- 51:21Speaker 1: almost looks like you know those Greek vases where they
- 51:25Speaker 1: have like the silhouettes of gods or people and.
- 51:30Speaker 2: There, you know what I'm talking about.
- 51:32Speaker 1: It's sort of like that, a very interesting way of
- 51:35Speaker 1: doing this that I don't remember having seen on this show,
- 51:38Speaker 1: but I sort of liked. But anyway, Yeah, Sabo just
- 51:42Speaker 1: says never again and stares down Fujirah, and we have
- 51:47Speaker 1: Fuji tourah like with his weird He says, I think
- 51:52Speaker 1: I've asked enough questions hardly any point, and Saba was
- 51:59Speaker 1: I you, And he says, I like a story better
- 52:02Speaker 1: when I can enjoy it with a cup of sake,
- 52:06Speaker 1: and he uses his ability that causes Sabo to be
- 52:10Speaker 1: unable to move. We see these like weird streaks that
- 52:14Speaker 1: pop up around that are I think supposed to be force,
- 52:18Speaker 1: but it doesn't appear to take hold because Sabo is
- 52:21Speaker 1: able to draw his weapon and you know, bring the
- 52:25Speaker 1: flames up. So I thought that that was like gonna
- 52:30Speaker 1: be him held in place while Fujiitura did.
- 52:33Speaker 2: His thing, but I guess not. I don't know.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Maybe the maybe the lines of force around him were
- 52:41Speaker 1: supposed to be his own ability, but Fujiitura can do
- 52:44Speaker 1: that right, can make it so you are unable to move.
- 52:48Speaker 1: I feel like I remember that from earlier. So anyway,
- 52:55Speaker 1: he leaps into the air, comes down like a comet himself.
- 53:00Speaker 1: I'm in Fujitura lock blades and Sabo says, lufy I
- 53:04Speaker 1: swear I'll protect you and then it is the end
- 53:07Speaker 1: of the episode to be continued. So sorry, I just
- 53:15Speaker 1: saw that that, uh Seraphim had been commenting that I
- 53:19Speaker 1: miss some of it. You can't sum up one piece
- 53:21Speaker 1: in a single image. The image Sengoku screaming Garp, it's
- 53:25Speaker 1: your damn family again. Oh my god, that's funny. As
- 53:29Speaker 1: far as we know, correct Ace thought he was dead
- 53:31Speaker 1: as well. Gravity doesn't affect fire that well, since it's not.
- 53:35Speaker 2: A physical thing.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Oh I see, Okay, that's a nice little trick. Yeah,
- 53:41Speaker 1: that's flame flamefruit. Seems like it's gonna work out real
- 53:43Speaker 1: well for Saboka, for him. All Right, well, I'm gonna
- 53:48Speaker 1: wrap this one up, but h I appreciate you guys listening.
- 53:52Speaker 1: Thank you to Saraphim for joining me in the chat.
- 53:55Speaker 1: And I just wanted to also let you guys know
- 53:58Speaker 1: that there has it's been there have been people who
- 54:02Speaker 1: have reached out and told me that they have had
- 54:04Speaker 1: issues with getting into the crowdcast, and I'm sorry about that.
- 54:08Speaker 1: I know that this has been an imperfect system. It
- 54:12Speaker 1: was just like there were very few other options. However,
- 54:21Speaker 1: now Patreon has enabled going live and they record those
- 54:27Speaker 1: lives for you on Patreon. Chats, and I am very
- 54:34Speaker 1: strongly considering leaving crowdcasts entirely and moving over to the
- 54:39Speaker 1: Patreon chat only for spoil mes from here on out,
- 54:44Speaker 1: or not necessarily from today, but soon, because they are
- 54:49Speaker 1: working a lot more reliably for everybody, not everybody everybody like,
- 54:54Speaker 1: It's not one hundred percent across the board flawless for
- 54:57Speaker 1: absolutely every user, but it has been in overall a
- 55:01Speaker 1: much better experience for practically everybody, and I find it
- 55:08Speaker 1: easier to do from my end, and also because of
- 55:11Speaker 1: the way that Patreon now has the ability to make collections,
- 55:16Speaker 1: I can and tag things, I can keep them organized
- 55:23Speaker 1: on my own Patreon, which I just really like the
- 55:26Speaker 1: idea of things being sort of native to my own
- 55:30Speaker 1: Patreon page and not having to send people over to
- 55:33Speaker 1: crowdcasts separately. So that is very likely coming. I just
- 55:39Speaker 1: wanted to let you guys know ahead of time. I
- 55:43Speaker 1: will be making probably a new free chat, and that
- 55:45Speaker 1: way it won't be patrons only to come to these lives.
- 55:48Speaker 1: But I'll make a free chat and have the lives
- 55:52Speaker 1: set up there, and the recordings of the lives will
- 55:56Speaker 1: still go up and then I'll post the actual audio.
- 56:00Speaker 1: But I just wanted to give you all a heads
- 56:03Speaker 1: up on the change coming because I, like, I understand
- 56:10Speaker 1: that you guys were running into so many issues with
- 56:12Speaker 1: these lives and I wanted to do something, but it
- 56:16Speaker 1: was like, either I completely change over to a whole
- 56:18Speaker 1: new system which has a lot of its own problems,
- 56:22Speaker 1: or I stick it out here and hope that they
- 56:24Speaker 1: fix some of the problems they've been having. And some
- 56:27Speaker 1: of those problems they have been able to help and
- 56:30Speaker 1: improve on, but not enough of them. And I have
- 56:34Speaker 1: noticed that overall the lives aren't as well attended as
- 56:38Speaker 1: they were, and I think it's just pure technical issues
- 56:41Speaker 1: that are causing that a lot of the time. So yeah,
- 56:46Speaker 1: if you are somebody who has wanted to come to
- 56:48Speaker 1: these and has just always had a problem with it,
- 56:51Speaker 1: fear not. It looks like there's going to be a
- 56:54Speaker 1: better way coming up soon. So if you are not
- 56:57Speaker 1: already a follower on Patreon, you don't have to pay.
- 57:00Speaker 1: You can just become a free member. Go to patreon
- 57:03Speaker 1: dot com slash Unspoiled, become a free member and join
- 57:08Speaker 1: the free chat, and I will start experimenting with doing
- 57:13Speaker 1: these over there and just see how it goes. So
- 57:17Speaker 1: I hope that you guys will join me and that
- 57:20Speaker 1: this one will work out a little bit better. All right, everybody,
- 57:24Speaker 1: thank you again so much appreciates you all, and until
- 57:27Speaker 1: next time to Loo motherfuckers. That was an Unspoiled Network podcast.
