- 0:00SPEAKER_00: My honest advice for women with chronic diarrhea: stop listening to your doctor.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: I know, I'm a nurse.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: I worked ICU for years.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: You'd think I'd be the last person telling you that, but stick with me because by the end of this, you're gonna understand exactly why I say that.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: If you've got chronic diarrhea, you know where every bathroom is before you walk into a building, you cancel plans, you take a modium, you've tried low FODMAP, you've done all the things, and you're still stuck.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Here's the thing conventional medicine isn't designed for you to heal.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: It's designed to keep you just sick enough to keep coming back.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Conventional medicine has great people working in it, doctors, nurses, other staff, but the system itself was never built to make you well.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: It was built to manage you forever.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Because a patient who actually gets fixed stops coming back.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: But a patient who's managing something comes back year after year.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: That's just the business model.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Follow the money.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Let me show you exactly what I mean.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: I worked in the ICU for about 12 years, and one shift I will never forget, I had a patient who was 500 pounds and she was struggling.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: I was told to bring her an acid blocking medication because all that weight was wrecking her gut.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: So I give her the pill, and next to her on her tray that we gave her was chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: True story.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: I stood there holding a pill that's meant to treat the damage her food was doing while the same hospital handed her more of exactly what caused it.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Two departments, both of them getting paid.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: I went home that night and told my husband that I didn't know if I could keep doing this.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Not because I stopped caring, but because I finally saw it.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: We were not fixing anybody.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: We were just very good at keeping people alive while they stayed sick.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: And it's not just the ICU, it's your gut running the exact same setup.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: You get diarrhea, you see a GI doctor, they tell you it's IBS, here's a pill.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: The pill doesn't work, you see a different GI doctor, same answer.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Because they all went through the same training.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Maybe you try low FODMAP, maybe you get a colonoscopy and it comes back clean while you're still running to the bathroom 10 times a day.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: That's because a basic stool test only checks for about five things: C.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: diff, H.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: pylori, blood, mucus, maybe some inflammation.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: The testing that actually looks deeper at yeast, parasites, bacterial overgrowth, mold, all of that already exists.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: It's just never going to become standard practice in a system that doesn't need you cured.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Immodium doesn't ask why you have diarrhea.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: It just tells your gut to be quiet about it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Take as much as you want, they'll say that's not a fix.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: That's a pause button.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: You have to keep pressing for the rest of your life.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: I lived this myself before I ever treated anybody else for it.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Bloating, urgency years ago.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I saw three different GI doctors.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Three.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: All three told me the exact same thing.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: It's IBS, you can't get rid of it, you just have to manage it.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: That didn't sit right with me.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Our bodies don't just break for no reason on a random Tuesday.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: So I stopped asking doctors and I figured it out myself and I got rid of it.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Not managed, gone.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what I tell my clients now.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: If you care about your health, do the opposite of what your doctor tells you.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: You can't heal in the system that profits off of you when you're sick forever.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: The conventional system you keep going back to was never going to fix you.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: It can't.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: That's not what it's for.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: If you actually want to heal, at some point you have to leave it and go find someone who's looking for the cause instead of just managing the symptom.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Now, to be clear, if you break a bone or you need stitches, go to the ER.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: That system is great at that.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about everything else.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: The diarrhea that's been going on for years, bloating and cramping that never got fixed, just managed.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm talking about leaving behind.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: I left it and I got better.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: I've helped hundreds of women do the exact same thing.
