- 0:36Speaker 5: But.
- 0:38Speaker 6: Tyreek Hill actually was incredibly complementary of Christian. He was no,
- 0:42Speaker 6: I know he was.
- 0:43Speaker 1: He was.
- 0:44Speaker 6: I'm not sure you know because you just said that he.
- 0:47Speaker 7: How did pizza delivery drivers find my house?
- 0:50Speaker 8: What is that book called? There's a book filled with maps.
- 0:52Speaker 8: I'm forgetting. It's like, it's not the guy that was.
- 0:55Speaker 6: Before the stadium went to turf and it was just
- 0:57Speaker 6: a mud bowl.
- 0:59Speaker 1: We lost a kid in a puddle just he just
- 1:03Speaker 1: never found him again, looking.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Like he's still stumping.
- 1:09Speaker 7: Jets.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Why are you stuck in that?
- 1:12Speaker 8: So it was like, well, what are you And they're like, oh,
- 1:14Speaker 8: I'm a tourist. Like interesting, I'm like, that's tam cameras.
- 1:18Speaker 8: What are you, oh, Gemini interesting?
- 1:21Speaker 1: I am going to go with the Buccaneers to cover
- 1:24Speaker 1: Eagles win. But the Buccaneers don't lose by the points.
- 1:29Speaker 8: That were So that's that's gambling parlance.
- 1:34Speaker 6: So is covering.
- 1:35Speaker 7: That's covering.
- 1:36Speaker 3: This is Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 1:38Speaker 9: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:41Speaker 9: dot com.
- 1:44Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:48Speaker 2: at Julet's Stadium. It's a victory to victory Tuesday against
- 1:51Speaker 2: the New Jersey Jets. And I don't understand why everyone's
- 1:55Speaker 2: freaking out. Everyone's like, Taylor Swift, this this lost.
- 2:00Speaker 10: Help me?
- 2:01Speaker 1: You know? I'm not feeling any better after this loss.
- 2:06Speaker 7: Are you?
- 2:07Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, because I wasn't sure they were gonna win.
- 2:11Speaker 6: Oh I wasn't either, you know.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So I'm happy that you go in against a division
- 2:15Speaker 2: team on the road and come out with the win.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And now we move on from there. Okay, so now
- 2:22Speaker 2: we can worry about the Cowboys. But like, there was
- 2:25Speaker 2: no certainty that you're gonna go into the Jets and
- 2:28Speaker 2: with that defense and win, and they did, and you know,
- 2:32Speaker 2: ask the Bills about playing the Jets. You know, when
- 2:35Speaker 2: you're heavily favorite, and we weren't heavily favorite. But you know,
- 2:39Speaker 2: anything can happen in these division games. When you can
- 2:41Speaker 2: come out with a win, take it and move on,
- 2:45Speaker 2: and you know, don't worry about the style points. Now,
- 2:48Speaker 2: does the offense still have problems Hell yes, hell yes,
- 2:51Speaker 2: but they had them before we went to the Jets,
- 2:53Speaker 2: and we were playing one of the best defenses in
- 2:55Speaker 2: the league.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So I'm happy. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go play Dallas.
- 2:59Speaker 6: Now, oh sorry, that's a different.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go places. So I agree with you.
- 3:05Speaker 6: I'm probably not quite as enthusiastic as you are. But
- 3:08Speaker 6: they had to win the game, bottom line, they had
- 3:10Speaker 6: to had to had to.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Win, and they did. They made it a lot tougher
- 3:15Speaker 2: than it should have been.
- 3:16Speaker 6: I don't think they did. I think it was just
- 3:17Speaker 6: a close game. It's a tight, close game that could
- 3:19Speaker 6: have gone either way, and the Patriots won. They won
- 3:22Speaker 6: on the back of their defense.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Yep, yeah, as we thought they would.
- 3:25Speaker 6: Correct.
- 3:26Speaker 7: Right, it was definitely tighter than I should have been.
- 3:29Speaker 6: I mean that that Hail Mary was close. Oh okay, now,
- 3:33Speaker 6: that I agree with. Yeah, that I agree with.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it shouldn't have come down to that,
- 3:37Speaker 1: but it did and you won.
- 3:38Speaker 8: Yeah, that's I mean, that's uh, you know, I'm not
- 3:40Speaker 8: going to start with the grace, but that was my
- 3:42Speaker 8: only broke right, But just close it out, you know
- 3:43Speaker 8: how that how that opportunity would have love to see them.
- 3:45Speaker 8: I mean, I wasn't expecting them to put five hundred
- 3:47Speaker 8: yards of offense up.
- 3:48Speaker 2: But the way the game, the way the game was going,
- 3:51Speaker 2: a better Patriots team would have closed it out in
- 3:53Speaker 2: the first half, you know, the way it was going.
- 3:56Speaker 2: But they they're having issues right now on offense, and
- 4:00Speaker 2: we're gonna get into that. We're gonna get into that.
- 4:02Speaker 2: But listen, I think I'm I'm pleased to punch about
- 4:06Speaker 2: the defense, even though it was Zach Wilson.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Uh, they did a great job against the run.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You know, Gonzales just if you just focus on him,
- 4:15Speaker 2: how can you not feel good about about the you
- 4:18Speaker 2: know season he's having so far.
- 4:20Speaker 6: Absolutely, I mean excellent.
- 4:21Speaker 8: Yeah, he's fun to watch and that's you know, that's
- 4:23Speaker 8: what what they need around here, you know, is those
- 4:25Speaker 8: those talented guys. So it's been a just a an
- 4:29Speaker 8: incredibly tough start to the players that he's had to
- 4:31Speaker 8: go up against. I mean it's like, yeah, you can't
- 4:33Speaker 8: imagine a tougher gauntlet than than what he's faced in
- 4:37Speaker 8: those first three games. And now he's probably gonna get
- 4:39Speaker 8: some ceedee lamb too. So just I mean, that's the
- 4:41Speaker 8: NFL though, every week, and that's why you need a
- 4:43Speaker 8: guy like Christian Gonzalez who's athletic enough to you know,
- 4:46Speaker 8: run with these guys. He doesn't have to be perfect.
- 4:48Speaker 8: It doesn't have to you know, pitch zeros every time
- 4:50Speaker 8: he goes up against one of these guys. But you
- 4:51Speaker 8: just see how competitive he is on every catch and
- 4:54Speaker 8: he really makes you work for it. So it's really positive.
- 4:57Speaker 8: He's been you know, he's there have been less hiccups
- 4:59Speaker 8: than he and I and then I kind of thought
- 5:01Speaker 8: I expected they'd be like he's gonna get toasted a
- 5:03Speaker 8: couple of times and you know, miscalculate bight on a
- 5:06Speaker 8: double move something like that.
- 5:07Speaker 6: But he's been really, really good.
- 5:08Speaker 1: He's been good, And I have a bone to pick
- 5:11Speaker 1: with Paul. I don't know what I do, because you know.
- 5:14Speaker 6: I'm in full agreement with everything you've said possibly every week.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Every week he's like, you know, teflon Mac, teflon Mac.
- 5:22Speaker 2: All I've been hearing is people saying I can't stand Mac.
- 5:25Speaker 2: He's cheap, he's a baby.
- 5:26Speaker 6: He's now we're talking about two.
- 5:28Speaker 11: Different that's totally different. That that's after the whistle stuff,
- 5:33Speaker 11: that every different.
- 5:34Speaker 6: Every people don't like him personally.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Well, I don't understand how he's teflon mac if people don't.
- 5:40Speaker 6: But that's a whole different thing. When I'm talking about
- 5:42Speaker 6: his ability. I know, I think the ability thing is
- 5:45Speaker 6: still pretty split.
- 5:46Speaker 11: Yeah, I think it's off the field after the whistle cheap.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I see a lot of people, but you know, I
- 5:52Speaker 2: want to, I want to he did what he did,
- 5:54Speaker 2: Like I know, there's the holes approud of film and people.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Are like, oh, I didn't see he did it.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I mean, after he got slammed to the ground and
- 6:03Speaker 2: he put his hand out in sauce you know, knocked
- 6:07Speaker 2: his hand away and then he get up, he did
- 6:09Speaker 2: do the vanilla nut tap.
- 6:10Speaker 1: There's no doubt. But but what what what.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I don't know, But they should continue the video because
- 6:16Speaker 2: after he did that, Sauce pushes him and he kind
- 6:20Speaker 2: of like I think he was laughing.
- 6:23Speaker 6: I totally agree that was like like sniffly yeah, like
- 6:29Speaker 6: like I totally.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Agree with you for I think this whole thing is
- 6:32Speaker 2: being blown out of proportion.
- 6:33Speaker 11: I think if it wasn't why if it wasn't his
- 6:37Speaker 11: first defense, Paul, I think, you know, I mean, wow,
- 6:40Speaker 11: I'm looking at you.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Don't let me do that again, sorry, Paul.
- 6:45Speaker 11: I think if it was his first offense, Fred, then
- 6:47Speaker 11: I think everyone wouldn't be up up in arms. But
- 6:49Speaker 11: since it's not his first offense and he's orderline going
- 6:53Speaker 11: down the road of being a NFL Grayson Allen, that's
- 6:55Speaker 11: why everyone is.
- 6:57Speaker 6: He shouldn't get like fined or anything or suspended. But
- 7:00Speaker 6: I mean, can we just be grown ups and say.
- 7:02Speaker 1: That he did it? Absolutely?
- 7:04Speaker 6: It seems like this most of my colleagues refused to
- 7:06Speaker 6: admit that he did it or.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Be but what.
- 7:11Speaker 6: The pushing like, it's not that big a deal. I
- 7:15Speaker 6: agree with you with maybe much ado about nothing, Buddy.
- 7:19Speaker 8: I mean, you see, he did do but I think he.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Was like kind of kidding around with him because he.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Was like, I don't know how you can say jewels, Yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 2: I mean he just just with the back of his
- 7:29Speaker 2: hand and and then he was laughing about.
- 7:31Speaker 11: Let me put it this way, if you did that
- 7:33Speaker 11: in this office right now, joking around or not, HR
- 7:37Speaker 11: would have a.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Problem only if Paul went to them.
- 7:39Speaker 6: But I would have very different fairness if you tack.
- 7:42Speaker 6: If you wouldn't go to HR. I'll just say that
- 7:46Speaker 6: someone did that to me, I wouldn't be going to HR.
- 7:48Speaker 6: We want to then go to HR on me go time.
- 7:51Speaker 7: We want to start talking about football and I'll talk.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Okay, ready to do that yet, so you just hold off.
- 7:58Speaker 6: I'll just leave the studio. I just don't really understand
- 8:01Speaker 6: how you can say it's it's it's like absolutely, you know,
- 8:05Speaker 6: like nothing. It's not the fourth or fifth thing in
- 8:09Speaker 6: three years.
- 8:10Speaker 11: We also have one more thing to talk about before
- 8:12Speaker 11: we can talk about football, you know. So, Evan, I
- 8:15Speaker 11: hope you can bear with us, but.
- 8:16Speaker 7: You know what this is now, This is this, this
- 8:18Speaker 7: whole thing with Mac is just like I'm out.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I don't think I know what you want to talk about.
- 8:25Speaker 4: This is not about Matt. This is about Taylor Swift,
- 8:28Speaker 4: Travis Kelsey.
- 8:29Speaker 7: I don't want to talk about that.
- 8:30Speaker 11: I don't know how anyone hasn't come up with their
- 8:32Speaker 11: little couple name yet I don't know how you can
- 8:34Speaker 11: go to find their two names.
- 8:35Speaker 2: The trailer I heard it was T Square, T Square.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I like that.
- 8:43Speaker 11: I'm just a little bit intrigued by Bill Belichick's response.
- 8:46Speaker 11: This is a second response on Taylor Swift. He's obviously
- 8:48Speaker 11: as swifty. I mean, first he gives her, you know,
- 8:51Speaker 11: props for being having grit and having mental toughness performing
- 8:54Speaker 11: in the rain here at Gillette, and then he says,
- 8:56Speaker 11: this is the biggest catch of Travis Kelsey's career.
- 8:58Speaker 4: It's incredible.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah, cool, you know, listen, this is she stole. She
- 9:05Speaker 2: stole the day. She did on a day where Miami
- 9:08Speaker 2: scored seventy points.
- 9:09Speaker 1: She's the headline. Yeah she was.
- 9:12Speaker 11: I've never seen someone on a final score graphic that
- 9:15Speaker 11: didn't play in the game.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy. There you go. We need we need
- 9:21Speaker 1: one of our players to go out with somebody famous.
- 9:23Speaker 7: It's never happened before.
- 9:26Speaker 4: The closest is like Devon was a very subtle like that.
- 9:31Speaker 8: Jos had some models, right, Jewels was dating models.
- 9:35Speaker 6: I think that those women were famous more. I mean,
- 9:38Speaker 6: I'm probably wrong, but I didn't really know of those
- 9:40Speaker 6: women until they started dating like Gronk and Ala Edelman.
- 9:44Speaker 1: But ye good for.
- 9:48Speaker 6: All of that.
- 9:48Speaker 8: Yeah, well she's independently famous.
- 9:50Speaker 6: Rights, Yeah, she's like like the internet famous, like a model.
- 9:59Speaker 6: She's like Internet famous, right, internet model, like an instrument model,
- 10:03Speaker 6: just a bunch of is like worldwide. Oh yeah yes,
- 10:06Speaker 6: oh yeah, the people would know who that is.
- 10:10Speaker 1: All right, what's so that's the social minute name?
- 10:15Speaker 6: Like I've never heard of it.
- 10:16Speaker 4: She's a model, just like she's.
- 10:18Speaker 6: Just got one name. No, not just like one of those.
- 10:21Speaker 8: It's just starting.
- 10:23Speaker 1: So let's go around.
- 10:23Speaker 6: The win is closed. That's the last similarity.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Let's go around with. Was this a good win, a
- 10:28Speaker 1: bad win, or just a win? That's a win.
- 10:30Speaker 8: It's a win, and a win is a win, and
- 10:32Speaker 8: you need it, and you know, I'm with you. I
- 10:34Speaker 8: you can we can get nitpicky. But it's a long
- 10:36Speaker 8: season and there's going to be plenty of time to
- 10:38Speaker 8: you know, dive into that stuff once they start playing
- 10:40Speaker 8: good teams, you know, like Dallas is pretty good still.
- 10:42Speaker 8: I mean, I think every game on from here on
- 10:44Speaker 8: out is is good. But I just there's something about
- 10:46Speaker 8: the Jets that, like, you just just win that game.
- 10:48Speaker 8: I'm not going to get too caught up in concern
- 10:50Speaker 8: with it. I mean, there's certainly things we can we'll
- 10:52Speaker 8: talk about in dissect. But you know, a win all
- 10:56Speaker 8: the jets you needed, Tamara, good win, bad win or neutral.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Sorry, I have.
- 11:00Speaker 11: Alex Francisco who is currently not here, but she is
- 11:03Speaker 11: here to say, and I'm speaking for her. Chanelle is
- 11:05Speaker 11: not an Internet model. She's a real model. She was
- 11:07Speaker 11: a Victoria's Secret angel. So those are out.
- 11:10Speaker 6: She's the Internet famous. I didn't say she's in the
- 11:12Speaker 6: Internet model. I said she's Internet famous.
- 11:15Speaker 11: So those are Alex's two says Victoria's Victoria's Secret proves
- 11:18Speaker 11: my point.
- 11:19Speaker 1: It's not like that's a catalog catalog the exactly.
- 11:23Speaker 6: It's not like Jess said, it's not Zelle level. Come
- 11:26Speaker 6: we stop, it's not all supermodel.
- 11:30Speaker 11: No, okay, this was just a win, correct, just to win,
- 11:33Speaker 11: oh win, nothing crazy.
- 11:35Speaker 1: They got it done, good win, bad win, neutral.
- 11:37Speaker 7: We're talking about football now.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I wasn't stop.
- 11:42Speaker 6: Did Brian come back to the shaft.
- 11:44Speaker 11: I'm just saying, if we were talking about it, No,
- 11:46Speaker 11: I thought we were going to do two hours of
- 11:48Speaker 11: whether or not macau.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Evidently he didn't. According to all the Patriots defenders.
- 11:54Speaker 11: I will say Evan would be all about this conversation
- 11:56Speaker 11: if it was Josh Allen dating Taylor Swift.
- 11:59Speaker 6: You love Josh, I do.
- 12:01Speaker 7: When it comes to Taylor Swift, I like, it has
- 12:03Speaker 7: nothing to do with the Patriots, So I honestly could
- 12:05Speaker 7: care less, and I could also care less about the
- 12:07Speaker 7: Mac thing. But good win or bad win? I say win,
- 12:13Speaker 7: I mean, I guess, I don't know, mostly bad. But
- 12:16Speaker 7: I think the big thing for me is what Mike said,
- 12:18Speaker 7: like one nineteen left with two timeouts for the Jets,
- 12:21Speaker 7: and you give the ball back, like, I don't care
- 12:23Speaker 7: if it's forty five forty or it's fifteen to ten, Like,
- 12:27Speaker 7: you can't give the ball back to the Jets. You
- 12:29Speaker 7: just can't. And if they if they had melted out there,
- 12:31Speaker 7: if they had picked up a first down, I would
- 12:33Speaker 7: have said good win.
- 12:34Speaker 2: But oh, just for that reason, just for like close,
- 12:38Speaker 2: just for that reason inability to close it up.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I am not saying bad I'm saying just
- 12:45Speaker 6: just a win. But I agree with Evans's point. If
- 12:47Speaker 6: they were able to run the clock out in the
- 12:50Speaker 6: fourth quarter, then I would have called it a good win. Yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 6: but I think I think there's still an element of
- 12:58Speaker 6: all of us that thinks of this team from the
- 13:01Speaker 6: last twenty plus years, and I look at it as
- 13:06Speaker 6: a win because I think the Jets are just as
- 13:08Speaker 6: good as them. The only difference in the game Sunday
- 13:10Speaker 6: was they had a guy who was not capable of
- 13:13Speaker 6: quarterbacking high school team. Yeah, I mean it just it
- 13:17Speaker 6: just he was unable to do the simplest things that
- 13:21Speaker 6: a quarterback needs to do. And that's why you won.
- 13:24Speaker 6: Your defense dominated him y, They completely tortured him. He
- 13:30Speaker 6: was like such that one drive, he's completely broke. And
- 13:32Speaker 6: even that one drive was like run run, run, like
- 13:35Speaker 6: he didn't do anything. He liked one.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Throw and it should have been three because that was
- 13:41Speaker 2: not p I in the end zone. I put him
- 13:43Speaker 2: at the one.
- 13:44Speaker 6: But whatever, Like he had one good, one good drive
- 13:46Speaker 6: in a game, you know, like that that's as bad
- 13:51Speaker 6: a performance as that was, like Tyler Palco bad.
- 13:54Speaker 7: When you start to talk about just this is what
- 13:57Speaker 7: irks me about the end of of the game for
- 13:59Speaker 7: the offense the most is I don't, like I said,
- 14:02Speaker 7: I don't care if it's fifteen to ten or it's
- 14:03Speaker 7: forty five to ten or forty five to forty, right,
- 14:06Speaker 7: whatever five point game you want to put it at
- 14:08Speaker 7: the bottom line is is that the defense carried them
- 14:11Speaker 7: for fifty eight minutes of that game, and they were
- 14:14Speaker 7: a couple of inches a Randall Cobb was and that
- 14:19Speaker 7: was away from losing the game on a hail Mary,
- 14:22Speaker 7: because your offense couldn't pick up one first down, that's all.
- 14:27Speaker 7: And they didn't even come close. It was fourth and three.
- 14:30Speaker 7: It wasn't even like, you know, a decision of oh,
- 14:33Speaker 7: like you know it's inches, like should we go for No,
- 14:35Speaker 7: it wasn't even close. And so they had to punt
- 14:37Speaker 7: from the thirty nine yard line, which netted like seventeen
- 14:41Speaker 7: yards of field position or something like that. And they
- 14:45Speaker 7: were this close to and if I'm the defense I am,
- 14:48Speaker 7: I'm starting to be like, you guys can't even ice
- 14:52Speaker 7: it for us, Like we literally did everything else for you.
- 14:56Speaker 6: We even scored.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Right in the second half. Think the Jets blank the
- 15:01Speaker 1: offense right.
- 15:02Speaker 8: Well, they got a pun they gotta field goal the
- 15:03Speaker 8: first face. It was six punts I believe to end
- 15:06Speaker 8: the game. Yeah, And I think they had like maybe
- 15:09Speaker 8: three total first downs in the fourth quarter total, I
- 15:12Speaker 8: mean none in the last two drives, they weren't able
- 15:13Speaker 8: to get any and that's yeah, that's what what sticks out,
- 15:17Speaker 8: you know, And it's that's the stuff that they just
- 15:19Speaker 8: they have to be better at. They've got a good,
- 15:20Speaker 8: you know, a good start. They went down the field
- 15:22Speaker 8: both the first and second half, they got field goal drives.
- 15:25Speaker 8: All right, we'll take baby steps, but you know that
- 15:27Speaker 8: inability down the stretch, and it's you know, why should
- 15:29Speaker 8: we have that hope yet that Matt can lead a
- 15:31Speaker 8: comeback if they can't even close.
- 15:33Speaker 2: You know, the Pharaoh Brown touchdown was great to see,
- 15:36Speaker 2: but the fact that he's the only guy to get
- 15:39Speaker 2: the touchdown in the game, it tells you what's going
- 15:43Speaker 2: on with this offense right there that.
- 15:44Speaker 8: They were I mean zone, I mean, were they in
- 15:46Speaker 8: the red zone at all?
- 15:47Speaker 6: No, they never got to the red one they got.
- 15:50Speaker 8: But you know, it's it's it's it's also just we
- 15:53Speaker 8: talked about the video we're doing, you know, and just
- 15:56Speaker 8: how spread around it is, like he goes to juju
- 15:58Speaker 8: on both of those last third down on those on
- 16:00Speaker 8: those final two possessions that it just like and I know, Mike,
- 16:03Speaker 8: you already I believe, asked Bill O'Brien about it, you know,
- 16:06Speaker 8: not on the same page.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Like him doesn't look right whenever he's involved, and we've
- 16:11Speaker 2: had guys that go on the round like that. It
- 16:15Speaker 2: just doesn't look right. And I don't know if it's him,
- 16:18Speaker 2: if it's Mac, if it's a combination of both, if
- 16:20Speaker 2: it's just a lack of speed on Juju's part, but
- 16:23Speaker 2: it just doesn't.
- 16:24Speaker 6: Look I think maybe he's wearing seven and they think
- 16:27Speaker 6: it's seventeen.
- 16:28Speaker 8: Probably we can't throw to that guy.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it just doesn't look right.
- 16:33Speaker 11: So it's probably more of like an evan question, I guess.
- 16:35Speaker 11: But for me, it's like why on the first down
- 16:38Speaker 11: plays both? I feel like the first and second down
- 16:40Speaker 11: plays are always runs and they're always terrible, and then
- 16:42Speaker 11: it's like third and nine and they can't get it.
- 16:45Speaker 11: It's like I feel like the first play specifically always
- 16:48Speaker 11: a run and it always goes nowhere.
- 16:50Speaker 7: Well, I mean, you have to. I think this team
- 16:52Speaker 7: has to run the ball, and I think they know that,
- 16:54Speaker 7: like they their passing game isn't good enough to do
- 16:57Speaker 7: what they did in the first two weeks and be
- 16:58Speaker 7: so pass heavy, so they tried to establish the run
- 17:03Speaker 7: in this game and I did think they ran the
- 17:04Speaker 7: ball pretty well. How many plays under center twenty seven.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So a big, big yeah, jump on.
- 17:10Speaker 7: That, big big increase through five play action passes from
- 17:13Speaker 7: under center only through one in the first two weeks
- 17:15Speaker 7: of the season. So they made an emphasis. They ran
- 17:17Speaker 7: that thirteen package. They had to Pharaoh Brown at full back,
- 17:20Speaker 7: like they they made some tweaks to the running game
- 17:23Speaker 7: from this week compared to last week to move the
- 17:26Speaker 7: ball on the ground, for sure.
- 17:27Speaker 6: I have a question on that. And you guys, I
- 17:29Speaker 6: know because you watch the stuff the three tight end
- 17:34Speaker 6: you just talked about. Yeah, they how many It was
- 17:37Speaker 6: like sixteen, So they had sixteen plays like that? Yeah?
- 17:40Speaker 6: How many had they run before the touchdown?
- 17:43Speaker 7: They ran six? Seven?
- 17:45Speaker 6: Okay seven?
- 17:45Speaker 7: And they ran every all seven times?
- 17:47Speaker 6: Right, So what I'm wondering that clearly was a setup,
- 17:52Speaker 6: you know, And is it a change like you know
- 17:56Speaker 6: in no? In other words, are they like, no, can
- 17:58Speaker 6: we expect to see you used it once?
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 18:00Speaker 6: My guess is that was you know, they set up something.
- 18:03Speaker 6: They used some three tight end a little bit against Miami, yep,
- 18:06Speaker 6: and now they obviously brought it out much more in
- 18:09Speaker 6: this game to set you know what happened up and
- 18:12Speaker 6: it worked. It won you a game, Yeah, because you
- 18:14Speaker 6: could make an argument without that play, you don't win. Yeah.
- 18:17Speaker 6: They they were inside the thirty once all all day.
- 18:21Speaker 6: I mean even the Jets got inside the thirty.
- 18:22Speaker 8: I mean the Jets, like when you look at like
- 18:24Speaker 8: the explosive plays, like the Jets have more big plays
- 18:26Speaker 8: than the Patriots did, you know, Like the Patriots had
- 18:28Speaker 8: that one big play to Pharaoh and then guess what
- 18:30Speaker 8: eighteen yards again that was their top play. I mean
- 18:32Speaker 8: that seems like they're ceiling for conventional offense.
- 18:34Speaker 6: That's as big of a play is now. There were
- 18:36Speaker 6: times I thought that, you know, in Spurts and Mike
- 18:39Speaker 6: did a really good job in the postgame show sort
- 18:41Speaker 6: of highlighting some of the third down throws that Mac
- 18:44Speaker 6: made in the first half. I thought, there's six to
- 18:46Speaker 6: ten on third down in the first half, and then
- 18:47Speaker 6: they just went completely in the toilet. This was basically
- 18:50Speaker 6: the opposite of the first two games, where they started
- 18:52Speaker 6: really slow in the first two games and then sort
- 18:55Speaker 6: of picked it up when it was you know, when
- 18:57Speaker 6: they were down to scores. This game, they got off
- 18:59Speaker 6: to a better start off defensively, It just didn't translate paints.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Up until the end. They kind of had a two
- 19:06Speaker 1: score game. It was ten points. You think they got
- 19:09Speaker 1: really conservative in the second half.
- 19:11Speaker 6: I wish I could say that, but no, I think
- 19:13Speaker 6: that they matter of fact, I thought they threw the
- 19:15Speaker 6: ball in some situations where I wouldn't have. And one
- 19:18Speaker 6: of them was one of the best throws that Mac
- 19:20Speaker 6: made on third and fifteen from like inside their ten
- 19:23Speaker 6: to fifteen. He had the rub route to Parker on
- 19:27Speaker 6: the out and he put it right on him. I mean,
- 19:30Speaker 6: perfect throw. I would have run there and punted, because
- 19:33Speaker 6: I'm telling you, you could be still playing right now.
- 19:35Speaker 6: The Jets wouldn't score. The only way the Jets were
- 19:38Speaker 6: going to score is if that deflection goes off a
- 19:40Speaker 6: shoulder and right.
- 19:41Speaker 7: I think that that's the part that frustrates me, Like
- 19:44Speaker 7: that flucky stuff does happen, like we've seen it, and
- 19:46Speaker 7: Miami miracle happened against the Patriots, so like, trust me,
- 19:49Speaker 7: I've lived it.
- 19:50Speaker 6: We've all lived it.
- 19:51Speaker 7: And whether it's like a lateral play or it's Garrett
- 19:54Speaker 7: Wilson sneaks behind the defense one time and it's just
- 19:57Speaker 7: one throw from Zach Wilson, they got somebody.
- 20:00Speaker 6: Down to ty Conklin that you know.
- 20:02Speaker 7: But I think there's a lot of stats going around
- 20:06Speaker 7: about the deep passing with Mac Jones, which I definitely
- 20:09Speaker 7: think is is an issue. But to me, the root
- 20:13Speaker 7: cause of it is man coverage. Like they are once
- 20:15Speaker 7: again terrible against man coverage. And when you play these
- 20:18Speaker 7: teams like the Jets that have Sauced and DJ Reid
- 20:21Speaker 7: and they can man up against you, you know, some teams
- 20:23Speaker 7: are afraid to do that with their corners. They don't
- 20:25Speaker 7: have the talent on the outside regardless of who they're playing,
- 20:28Speaker 7: to play a ton of man. But the Jets played
- 20:30Speaker 7: a ton of man on third down and basically just
- 20:33Speaker 7: dared the Patriots to beat them down the field on
- 20:36Speaker 7: one on one. So when people are saying, well, why
- 20:38Speaker 7: are they they throwing it to Juju on those third downs,
- 20:41Speaker 7: and people are you know, asking me in you know,
- 20:43Speaker 7: several different areas, it's well, the reason is is because
- 20:45Speaker 7: that's where the defense wants them to throw the ball.
- 20:47Speaker 7: Like the ball is being funneled to Juju in those
- 20:50Speaker 7: spots and those one on ones, and Mac has taking
- 20:53Speaker 7: the one on one and he's trying to see if
- 20:55Speaker 7: his guy can make a play. Do I love that
- 20:58Speaker 7: it's twenty yards down the field, But the bottom line
- 21:01Speaker 7: is is that's what's open, Like that was what was
- 21:03Speaker 7: available to them. So they can't beat man coverage. He's
- 21:07Speaker 7: twenty seventh in the league, and completion rate, he's dead
- 21:10Speaker 7: last and EPA against man coverage they have Besides Pop Douglas,
- 21:13Speaker 7: they really don't have any man separators. And he's a
- 21:16Speaker 7: rookie that's still learning, you know, and still has to
- 21:18Speaker 7: button up some of the details.
- 21:20Speaker 6: They see some of those things as to why maybe
- 21:22Speaker 6: you know, and again these are anecdotal, like you don't
- 21:26Speaker 6: know what the play call is, but it does look
- 21:27Speaker 6: like there are times that he's involved in plays where
- 21:30Speaker 6: I'm not sure that looked right, you know, like that
- 21:32Speaker 6: one that he got behind. I'm not sure he was
- 21:35Speaker 6: supposed to be behind. I don't know exactly what happened there,
- 21:38Speaker 6: but I don't think that was a terrible throw by Matt.
- 21:41Speaker 7: Yeah. I asked for Ross Douglas about it today because
- 21:43Speaker 7: he's probably usually pretty candid about you know what, if
- 21:46Speaker 7: the routes were correct, and he just said that they
- 21:48Speaker 7: need to get the guys on the same page. Oka
- 21:50Speaker 7: and so maybe.
- 21:51Speaker 6: Maybe he was right and Mac, Yeah, Mack was wrong.
- 21:53Speaker 7: I mean when I watched that play back, the right
- 21:56Speaker 7: tackle gets beat right, Vederian Low gets beat by a
- 21:58Speaker 7: spin move by Jermaine Johnson, and Douglas is behind the defense.
- 22:02Speaker 7: He's three or four yards, had a chance, and I
- 22:04Speaker 7: think it's a touchdown if the protection is clean. But
- 22:07Speaker 7: Mac just so maybe it was BA throw. Yeah, But
- 22:11Speaker 7: that's the bottom line is they can't beat man coverage again.
- 22:14Speaker 6: For I like, they had a really nice third down conversion,
- 22:18Speaker 6: the one I think it didn't Douglas just gets one
- 22:21Speaker 6: ball in this game. Yeah, there was a really nice
- 22:24Speaker 6: third down conversion. It was the play before the long touchdown. Yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 6: third and five, right, and that was like a maybe
- 22:30Speaker 6: a fifteen yard out to Douglas, a nice, nice.
- 22:33Speaker 7: Little like sort of pillowy throw.
- 22:35Speaker 6: Yeah, nice yeah, nice nice touch on the throw. And
- 22:40Speaker 6: then Douglas caught it and kind of like flipped over,
- 22:42Speaker 6: fell down, did a flip back, like it just didn't
- 22:44Speaker 6: look like it just doesn't look right yet. So I
- 22:46Speaker 6: wonder if he's thinking a lot about what he's doing
- 22:48Speaker 6: and trying, you know, and that's why it's been a
- 22:51Speaker 6: little bit slower than maybe we're all open.
- 22:52Speaker 7: For I would liked him to the throw that he
- 22:54Speaker 7: fumbled on against Miami like that, those types of routes,
- 22:58Speaker 7: I'd like to see that. No, thinking him running more
- 23:01Speaker 7: of those types of routes underneath the defense because the
- 23:04Speaker 7: vertical plays take a lot of chemistry, timing, understanding of coverage,
- 23:09Speaker 7: whereas if you just ask him to get open on
- 23:11Speaker 7: a whip rout or a slant or something like that, Yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 7: just just get open right like that's that's the bottom line,
- 23:17Speaker 7: and then he can catch and run with it. And
- 23:18Speaker 7: he is an explosive ball carrier and you see it
- 23:21Speaker 7: on sometimes on the punt returns and things like that.
- 23:23Speaker 7: But they need somebody, you know, everybody again, like why
- 23:27Speaker 7: are they throwing deep to Juju on third and three?
- 23:29Speaker 7: They need somebody that's going to get four yards there,
- 23:32Speaker 7: like they don't.
- 23:32Speaker 6: It's not like you're not throwing sauce, you're not throwing
- 23:36Speaker 6: it at like you're looking for the matchup that you like.
- 23:40Speaker 7: And they just don't have anybody right now that can
- 23:43Speaker 7: get open quickly off the line of scrimmage and create
- 23:46Speaker 7: those There's no back there's no slot receivers.
- 23:50Speaker 11: Jakobe it's like I hate crying over spilled milk.
- 23:53Speaker 2: But like, well, he's proving every week almost that he's
- 23:56Speaker 2: the better at this point in his career, a better
- 23:59Speaker 2: player than Juju.
- 23:59Speaker 1: But you know, when you talk about.
- 24:02Speaker 2: One on one, if if if the quarterback has confidence
- 24:08Speaker 2: right and can anticipate the route and he's got a clear.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Passing lane, he should be able to beat one on one, like.
- 24:16Speaker 2: You know, just call a dig route, call you know
- 24:19Speaker 2: something where it's all about timing Mac. I don't care
- 24:23Speaker 2: who it is, you should at times be able to
- 24:25Speaker 2: beat one on one. But I don't think he's got
- 24:29Speaker 2: the confidence, you know, on with his receivers.
- 24:32Speaker 8: I mean I saw a few throws that he was
- 24:34Speaker 8: really i mean almost scaryly so I'm just.
- 24:39Speaker 6: Saying that, and some made it like there was one
- 24:42Speaker 6: to burn that. I don't know how he got it.
- 24:47Speaker 2: But if you can anticipate, you know, guys, you know
- 24:50Speaker 2: the guy's going to do a dig route and the
- 24:52Speaker 2: balls in the air, you know, as he's making his dig,
- 24:55Speaker 2: so when he turns there, it is it's almost impossible
- 24:58Speaker 2: to cover that if you're a defender, you know, And
- 25:00Speaker 2: I think.
- 25:00Speaker 8: That's what like the hope is is that? And I
- 25:02Speaker 8: think kind of what Evan was getting at when you know,
- 25:05Speaker 8: he wrote his film review was that you know, maybe
- 25:08Speaker 8: they can get to that point where we're all on
- 25:09Speaker 8: the same page and Max throwing with anticipation and it
- 25:12Speaker 8: offsets some of their you know, lack of explosive separation ability.
- 25:17Speaker 10: You know.
- 25:17Speaker 8: I just I just I find it interesting again to
- 25:20Speaker 8: like just how many different guys he's thrown on and
- 25:23Speaker 8: it's it's it's you know, on one hand, it's like, well,
- 25:24Speaker 8: it's good he's not locked in on somebody. I mean,
- 25:26Speaker 8: I do think he gets a little locked in on
- 25:28Speaker 8: Hunter Henry and rightly so. But you know, I just
- 25:31Speaker 8: I want to see it come to out, like who
- 25:33Speaker 8: are the best guys, Who are the guys that he trusts,
- 25:35Speaker 8: Who are the personnel when we got to have it
- 25:37Speaker 8: that we're rolling with? And I think that was like
- 25:39Speaker 8: part of the problem I had with the end of
- 25:40Speaker 8: the game where it was third and one, you know,
- 25:42Speaker 8: the third downs, the two to Juju. It's like you're
- 25:44Speaker 8: going to everybody, and it's like those are the plays
- 25:46Speaker 8: got to have it? Those are when you go to
- 25:47Speaker 8: your like why are we going to Juju? You know,
- 25:50Speaker 8: like like why now, Yeah, no, I do.
- 25:54Speaker 6: Too, but it's like we were both lockstep, you know,
- 25:56Speaker 6: juju in those spots. The gout to have it spots
- 25:58Speaker 6: is juju. But credit Jets playing a ton of description
- 26:02Speaker 6: of that makes sense.
- 26:03Speaker 7: They're playing a ton of one robbers, so they're you know,
- 26:05Speaker 7: had the robber coverage and they're just packing the middle
- 26:08Speaker 7: of the field and they you know, the incuts and
- 26:10Speaker 7: stuff like that to Hunter Henry are just not going
- 26:12Speaker 7: to be there, and it's just funneling the ball outside
- 26:15Speaker 7: the numbers. And that's just been the story about this
- 26:17Speaker 7: team for four years now, is like that's that's how
- 26:20Speaker 7: you play the Patriots on third down is you play
- 26:22Speaker 7: press man and you just force the ball outside the
- 26:25Speaker 7: numbers and they're not going to beat you out there.
- 26:26Speaker 7: Whether that's rooted in receiver play, quarterback play, relying play,
- 26:31Speaker 7: like whatever, it's probably all the above. But I did
- 26:33Speaker 7: try to like be a little bit positive. I did,
- 26:36Speaker 7: and after further review, where I said, you can look
- 26:38Speaker 7: at it two ways. You can either say, like Fred's point,
- 26:42Speaker 7: there are open guys, like you know, maybe not wide open,
- 26:45Speaker 7: but there are opportunities to make plays down the field.
- 26:48Speaker 7: So either he's going to start hitting on a couple
- 26:50Speaker 7: of those a game as the timing and the rhythm
- 26:53Speaker 7: of the offense improves. Or you can be pessimistic, which
- 26:56Speaker 7: is probably more where I'm at, and say they're just
- 26:58Speaker 7: not good enough, Like they're not good enough to hit
- 27:00Speaker 7: those plays, and we have fourteen weeks to find out, right, Like,
- 27:03Speaker 7: I'm going to hit.
- 27:04Speaker 6: Some of them. They're not going to go the whole
- 27:05Speaker 6: year without hitting any of these big, big plays down.
- 27:08Speaker 8: And that's the thing with Mac, Like it's you know,
- 27:10Speaker 8: I mean that you know, Throtle to h Parker on
- 27:13Speaker 8: the sideline, you know, like those are the throws that
- 27:14Speaker 8: you would think, like, all right, well that that's what
- 27:16Speaker 8: they're trying to force them to do, and that's what
- 27:17Speaker 8: he's doing. But it's just not consistent enough, you know,
- 27:19Speaker 8: and they can't.
- 27:20Speaker 7: And that was also against off coverage, right, Like if
- 27:23Speaker 7: you when they play against zone or they play against
- 27:26Speaker 7: off man, like, they can make those types of throws.
- 27:28Speaker 7: The problem is is can the receiver get off the
- 27:31Speaker 7: line of scrimmage, make a move to get open at
- 27:33Speaker 7: the top of the route against bump and run press
- 27:36Speaker 7: man Like they don't have anybody that does that consistently,
- 27:40Speaker 7: and it just puts them in a in a real
- 27:42Speaker 7: tough spot where they are throwing back shoulders or like
- 27:45Speaker 7: contested fades and like that's what is available to them
- 27:49Speaker 7: right now because the guys aren't getting open.
- 27:51Speaker 6: I have a minor knit to pick ready. Yeah, not
- 27:55Speaker 6: really related to all of this stuff. But so the
- 27:58Speaker 6: last drive, like you need a first in the game.
- 28:00Speaker 6: I think he got a couple of yards on first
- 28:02Speaker 6: down from Zeke and they run a little end around
- 28:07Speaker 6: to to Mario Douglas.
- 28:08Speaker 7: That was a second to last drive.
- 28:09Speaker 6: But yeah, oh that was I thought it was the
- 28:11Speaker 6: last drive. Okay, So the second to last drive where
- 28:15Speaker 6: you know they're you know, doing a little fake action,
- 28:17Speaker 6: they're flipping it back. So this is the guy who
- 28:20Speaker 6: was so bad with his ball security a week earlier. Now,
- 28:25Speaker 6: the only way we can lose this game, and I'm
- 28:27Speaker 6: I'm telling you honestly, the only way you can lose
- 28:30Speaker 6: this game is if we turn it over. And that's
- 28:32Speaker 6: when we're going to try to do this.
- 28:34Speaker 7: I actually like the call.
- 28:35Speaker 6: I I I would like it if you weren't so
- 28:39Speaker 6: afraid of the guy being able to hold out of
- 28:40Speaker 6: the ball.
- 28:40Speaker 7: That's a fair point.
- 28:42Speaker 10: Like it.
- 28:42Speaker 6: I like the idea of Douglas being involved. But you
- 28:44Speaker 6: have told me, you have told me for a week
- 28:47Speaker 6: that that guy wasn't worthy of being able to be
- 28:51Speaker 6: relied upon, and you it's a new week, and you
- 28:56Speaker 6: doubled down on it earlier in the game because he
- 28:58Speaker 6: double clutched a fair catch and you had to take
- 29:01Speaker 6: him away from Putt returns right. And now the game
- 29:04Speaker 6: is on the line with a wet ball and we're
- 29:06Speaker 6: gonna flip it back to the guy who you don't
- 29:08Speaker 6: think can hold onto the ball. I thought that was weird.
- 29:10Speaker 6: I thought that was weird. Like under normal circumstances, I
- 29:14Speaker 6: don't mind trying to run unconventionally and see if you
- 29:16Speaker 6: can catch him. You get the end. He's fasted. Cheap,
- 29:19Speaker 6: cheap first down, ends the game. I have no problem
- 29:21Speaker 6: with the call. I just thought it was strange given
- 29:24Speaker 6: the events of the week.
- 29:26Speaker 2: On defense, Uh, with the run game, who stood out
- 29:31Speaker 2: in your mind?
- 29:33Speaker 8: I mean, I think the early just you know, the
- 29:35Speaker 8: early three four package they opened with where they put
- 29:37Speaker 8: Jennings and Roberts and Keon White. It was just, you know,
- 29:39Speaker 8: it was it was yeah, Jennings, I mean, he had
- 29:41Speaker 8: you know, two plays, but that's like what he look
- 29:43Speaker 8: like in the preseason. You know, he's he's he's just
- 29:45Speaker 8: he's got some some little shake to him now that
- 29:47Speaker 8: he's able to to do.
- 29:49Speaker 7: Some energy for sure.
- 29:50Speaker 6: Like the first play of the game, he's like in
- 29:52Speaker 6: the backfield dropping guys like I know, like Mike said,
- 29:55Speaker 6: it wasn't like he played seventy eight snaps, you know,
- 29:58Speaker 6: but like I just thought, right off the go, he
- 30:00Speaker 6: set the tone running today.
- 30:01Speaker 8: Four or five tackles. I mean, I thought key on
- 30:03Speaker 8: White after watching him again, and you know, it's like
- 30:05Speaker 8: there's just little glimpses were Jesus.
- 30:07Speaker 1: He's like the best game from Peppers in a while.
- 30:09Speaker 6: Peppers made one particular play that was special on that.
- 30:14Speaker 1: We shed the block and yeah, yeah made the play
- 30:16Speaker 1: of the screen.
- 30:17Speaker 8: I think it was alligator.
- 30:20Speaker 6: And ended up being like a five yard game instead
- 30:22Speaker 6: of what probably would have been a ten yard game
- 30:24Speaker 6: in a first down and you know, with the Jets
- 30:26Speaker 6: that makes all the difference in the world because they
- 30:27Speaker 6: can't convert.
- 30:28Speaker 8: Yeah, good punt return too. I mean, he's you know,
- 30:30Speaker 8: he's a he's a talented guy.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I think he had a pretty good game, gotcha.
- 30:34Speaker 6: He didn't play well.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Peppers quality out.
- 30:37Speaker 8: It sounds like we.
- 30:38Speaker 6: Should get to that. It sounds like he's going to
- 30:40Speaker 6: be out for the season with a tour and biceps.
- 30:42Speaker 8: And I think I saw Badard say it sounds like Gotschaw.
- 30:45Speaker 8: Maybe not this week, but not a long term thing.
- 30:47Speaker 8: Was was what he was insinuating.
- 30:49Speaker 6: So okay, as not as bad as it looked.
- 30:51Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, they just they just don't have any depth.
- 30:53Speaker 6: I mean, you know, I don't.
- 30:53Speaker 8: It's not like, you know, these are star players, but
- 30:56Speaker 8: you know the rotational players that play big roles in
- 30:58Speaker 8: significant STAPs for them and know I you know, I know,
- 31:01Speaker 8: you know, Paul suggested we'll just throw Lawrence Guy in there.
- 31:03Speaker 8: I mean it's but you know, it's trickle down effect
- 31:05Speaker 8: and I mean.
- 31:05Speaker 6: I'm missing Godschab. Then you probably make a call to
- 31:08Speaker 6: somebody get out the Seahawks.
- 31:11Speaker 8: But I mean I will say, I mean I don't
- 31:13Speaker 8: want to no offense to Daniel Qualley, but I mean
- 31:15Speaker 8: it's a little bit like all right, well that might
- 31:17Speaker 8: be key on now that gets.
- 31:18Speaker 6: Yeah, Like I think qual is a is a good
- 31:21Speaker 6: interior sub rusher, and he does I think he does
- 31:23Speaker 6: a good job, but that you know, I think it's
- 31:26Speaker 6: a loss. But that's not Carl Davis. Carl Davis is godchab.
- 31:30Speaker 6: If he can't play, and you know, who knows, maybe
- 31:34Speaker 6: he's he's in Seattle now. Maybe he doesn't want to
- 31:36Speaker 6: come back. I don't know, you know, I remember they
- 31:37Speaker 6: don't want him anymore. Well, I remember his post when
- 31:40Speaker 6: he got when he he got let go, and he
- 31:42Speaker 6: was he put it all on himself. He's like, listen,
- 31:44Speaker 6: I didn't bring it. I didn't play well, and I
- 31:47Speaker 6: didn't have the intensity that I needed during training camp
- 31:49Speaker 6: and blah blah blah blahlah.
- 31:50Speaker 8: I don't know any names off the top of my head,
- 31:52Speaker 8: but a guy like a qualite, I feel like they're
- 31:54Speaker 8: they're out there because they're not you know, overly big
- 31:56Speaker 8: size guys there get off you know, defensive tackle more,
- 31:59Speaker 8: you know, in that old or three kind of inside guys.
- 32:01Speaker 8: But I like probably find.
- 32:02Speaker 6: I think you're right though. Keon White is probably gonna
- 32:05Speaker 6: be poised for you know, more snaps because he hasn't
- 32:08Speaker 6: played a lot.
- 32:08Speaker 8: Yeah, and along those lines too, I think you know,
- 32:11Speaker 8: Barmore was good in this game.
- 32:12Speaker 6: I know I was hard on him.
- 32:13Speaker 8: Last week. But but he was really good. So that was,
- 32:16Speaker 8: you know, good to see. But you wonder what his
- 32:17Speaker 8: role is going to be without Godshaw in there now?
- 32:20Speaker 8: Is he gonna you know, they gonna have to rely
- 32:21Speaker 8: on him more, maybe put him more in run defense,
- 32:23Speaker 8: which I still don't think is his forte.
- 32:25Speaker 1: But how worried are we about the kicking operation?
- 32:29Speaker 6: Joe card And I'll get it right. I think he'll
- 32:30Speaker 6: be ok.
- 32:31Speaker 11: We might get a ten minute answer from Bill on
- 32:33Speaker 11: long snapper and the elements.
- 32:35Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I thought, you know, we're going on how
- 32:39Speaker 7: many years has Salid been there? Like two or three
- 32:42Speaker 7: at this point with the Jags. Yeah, he They have
- 32:45Speaker 7: never put together a good offensive game plan against the Patriots. Never,
- 32:48Speaker 7: And I find it hilarious, Like that's what, like, coach, what.
- 32:52Speaker 6: Scares me about defensive minded coaches?
- 32:54Speaker 7: You want to keep running the ball at the Patriots
- 32:58Speaker 7: defense that are playing three to four, that have Juwan
- 33:02Speaker 7: Bentley and Jolani Tavai and all these big backers on
- 33:05Speaker 7: the field, and you want to run it right up
- 33:07Speaker 7: the middle, like go ahead, like keep doing it.
- 33:11Speaker 11: Jaz, do you think do you think that was like
- 33:14Speaker 11: their way of trying to play Conservatives so that there
- 33:16Speaker 11: were no turnovers.
- 33:16Speaker 4: In the game. As they're finished the game with of course.
- 33:19Speaker 7: They like they wanted to run the ball, but they
- 33:20Speaker 7: needed to be able to run the ball in this
- 33:22Speaker 7: game to have a chance, and the Dolphins ran the
- 33:26Speaker 7: ball beautifully against the Patriots. If you're playing the Patriots,
- 33:29Speaker 7: you run sideline to sideline, you try to get those
- 33:31Speaker 7: big guys moving sideline to sideline, and you hit the
- 33:33Speaker 7: runs on the perimeter, like running like up the gut
- 33:36Speaker 7: against New England is just asking for trouble like that.
- 33:40Speaker 11: That's wondering if it had to do with their last
- 33:42Speaker 11: minute hit to the offensive line, though.
- 33:45Speaker 7: I even more reason to pitch it outside. Like like
- 33:49Speaker 7: you if you're playing the Patriots and you are smashing
- 33:53Speaker 7: your head against a brick wall, if you're trying to
- 33:55Speaker 7: run it up the middle, like that's exactly where their
- 33:57Speaker 7: strength of their defense is. Like you have guys like Godshaw, Lawrence,
- 34:01Speaker 7: Guy Dietrich, Wise Bentley, ta Vie Jennings, like all these
- 34:04Speaker 7: guys are out on the field exactly to stop the run,
- 34:08Speaker 7: and they're just the all up there, yeah yeah, and
- 34:12Speaker 7: they're just run right into the teeth of the defense
- 34:14Speaker 7: and I like, like I said in after further view,
- 34:17Speaker 7: like on second thought, like keep doing it, like you know,
- 34:20Speaker 7: if that's what you think you're gonna beat this team,
- 34:21Speaker 7: then keep doing it.
- 34:22Speaker 8: It's like, where are the little checkdowns to the backs,
- 34:24Speaker 8: because I feel like those are always the Patriots like kryptonite,
- 34:27Speaker 8: you know, like they so this is a deep check
- 34:29Speaker 8: it down and that guy picks up six, you know,
- 34:30Speaker 8: and they just write like bills do that all this.
- 34:32Speaker 6: This is where I'm defensive of Salah a little bit
- 34:35Speaker 6: in this regard, and I Evan saying, yeah, run the
- 34:38Speaker 6: ball all you want. You want to run it forty times,
- 34:40Speaker 6: run it, just don't run it like that. Don't run
- 34:42Speaker 6: it between the guards. They weren't even running it between
- 34:44Speaker 6: the tackles. They were running it like right up the gut.
- 34:48Speaker 6: That guy can't play. He's broken, he can't. Like I
- 34:53Speaker 6: watched some of the some of the plays again, I've
- 34:57Speaker 6: seen some of the you know, the armchair quarterbacks stuff.
- 35:02Speaker 6: I saw a play like they come out after run, run, run,
- 35:06Speaker 6: they finally they get decent field dish and they come
- 35:07Speaker 6: out on first down and throw the guy's wide open
- 35:11Speaker 6: for a little, little, easy little throw would have been
- 35:14Speaker 6: you know, like a seven yard throw and then who knows,
- 35:17Speaker 6: maybe you get yards after the catch. He takes a
- 35:19Speaker 6: twelve yard sack on first down when there's not really
- 35:23Speaker 6: even any pressure. Like he created more pressure in that
- 35:27Speaker 6: game by turning his like turning his eyes away from
- 35:31Speaker 6: the receivers and just not seeing anything. He can't play.
- 35:35Speaker 6: He was finding malpractice what they're doing to that team.
- 35:38Speaker 6: And you think it's bad, now, wait all about three
- 35:41Speaker 6: weeks from now.
- 35:43Speaker 11: I think, Paul to your point, it's like every time
- 35:46Speaker 11: they got off the field, it was a different person.
- 35:49Speaker 6: All all trying to pick him up, like hey, hey, hey,
- 35:52Speaker 6: And finally at the end of the game, it was
- 35:53Speaker 6: like we suck.
- 35:55Speaker 1: What are we doing?
- 35:56Speaker 6: You know, and like, you know, the Michael Carter, the
- 35:58Speaker 6: running back, not the cornerback, is arguing with like the
- 36:01Speaker 6: tight ends coach and like that, like and I get it.
- 36:04Speaker 6: Like Garrett Wilson was like clearly trying to say, hey, Evan,
- 36:08Speaker 6: we can do this, buddy, Hey, just stay with it,
- 36:10Speaker 6: stay with it. We could do You could see every
- 36:12Speaker 6: single possession they were trying to coax this guy. Lazard
- 36:16Speaker 6: and Cobb like talking to him, and nothing changed. Nothing,
- 36:20Speaker 6: He refused to just see the completions that were right
- 36:23Speaker 6: there for him.
- 36:23Speaker 7: Yeah, he can't see the field at all.
- 36:25Speaker 6: And I'm not telling you they would have had a
- 36:26Speaker 6: big offensive day. They wouldn't have because the Patriots defense
- 36:29Speaker 6: was giving that those throws underneath. Like, I'm not telling
- 36:32Speaker 6: you that Jets would have had thirty points if Zach
- 36:35Speaker 6: Wilson just took the checkdowns. But you're not gonna be
- 36:39Speaker 6: like going nowhere the whole game the way they were.
- 36:42Speaker 6: You would add some first downs and a little bit
- 36:44Speaker 6: of back and forth.
- 36:45Speaker 7: I just have to think that I know that there's
- 36:47Speaker 7: some reports out there that like Matt Ryan called them
- 36:49Speaker 7: and said that he would be interested Carson Wes No.
- 36:51Speaker 6: I think Ryan said he's not interested.
- 36:53Speaker 7: Oh No, I think the reports were that he was.
- 36:55Speaker 6: Oh I thought I that I read that he has
- 36:58Speaker 6: had no interest in coming back to play for Okay.
- 37:00Speaker 6: I I don't know, I you know, maybe it's wrong.
- 37:02Speaker 6: Like there's been a couple of when.
- 37:05Speaker 7: Yeah, these like veteran like Wentz's I would not go
- 37:09Speaker 7: the Wentz are out because I think he's as broken
- 37:10Speaker 7: as Zach Wilson is. But these veteran quarterbacks that might
- 37:14Speaker 7: not be at the peak of their powers anymore. In
- 37:16Speaker 7: terms of the trades, you know, the arm strength and
- 37:18Speaker 7: stuff like that, they're at least going to make good
- 37:20Speaker 7: decisions with the ball and get the ball out.
- 37:22Speaker 6: Right case Keenum, any case Keenum makes too much sense.
- 37:26Speaker 6: Any So, I heard one thrown out to me today
- 37:29Speaker 6: that I thought was really good and really interesting, and
- 37:33Speaker 6: I don't think it's completely dumb Bardie Mike Reese blogger
- 37:37Speaker 6: Mike Minnesota Kirk Cousins trade, give him a second round
- 37:44Speaker 6: pick for Kirk Cousins. Now, I don't think the Jets
- 37:47Speaker 6: would do it because of the money, Like how much
- 37:49Speaker 6: money you're going to pay quarterbacks and that's cash money,
- 37:53Speaker 6: not cap money. Before you start with your snart, you like,
- 37:58Speaker 6: why not Minnesota's oh and three Cousins's deal is up
- 38:02Speaker 6: at the end of the year. You're probably not going
- 38:04Speaker 6: to resign them. That's good, Like I didn't. I never
- 38:07Speaker 6: even gave it a thought, never even gave it a thought.
- 38:09Speaker 6: But if he were their quarterback, they would be a
- 38:12Speaker 6: playoff contender. I'm not telling you a super Bowl contender,
- 38:15Speaker 6: but they would be a contender for the playoffs.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I just think.
- 38:20Speaker 6: But now it's like, I.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Think Minnesota would have to wait at least a couple
- 38:24Speaker 2: more games before they would do that, and then by
- 38:27Speaker 2: that time you expect him to come in learn your offense.
- 38:31Speaker 6: Yeah, well you'd have to do it now.
- 38:32Speaker 2: It's just like, you can't waste too much money for
- 38:35Speaker 2: you're not going to get the results that you're hoping for.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 38:39Speaker 6: See I would do it.
- 38:40Speaker 7: Does any experience with Yeah, so nerve turner system is
- 38:43Speaker 7: pretty similar to what they run.
- 38:45Speaker 6: Yeah. I just think that if you if you did
- 38:47Speaker 6: it right now, if you made that deal today, he
- 38:50Speaker 6: can't play Sunday for you, but he could probably play
- 38:53Speaker 6: next Sunday for you, and then you have a chance.
- 38:55Speaker 6: I mean, how can you know at one? At one
- 38:57Speaker 6: and three it ain't over?
- 38:58Speaker 2: I know, But are you expecting the Vikings to tell
- 39:01Speaker 2: their fans and three we're giving up.
- 39:03Speaker 6: I'm thinking the Vikings are going to want to save
- 39:05Speaker 6: the money. That's how I'm thinking that the Vikings. The
- 39:07Speaker 6: Vikings aren't going anywhere.
- 39:10Speaker 4: I feel like.
- 39:11Speaker 6: If it was a must win for the Patriots to
- 39:13Speaker 6: avoid oh and three, it's a must win for them.
- 39:15Speaker 11: I'm just a little bit shocked that the Jets didn't
- 39:17Speaker 11: do this sooner. It's like after this happened to Aaron
- 39:20Speaker 11: Rodgers in that opener, It's like I would have been
- 39:23Speaker 11: on the phone immediately, because by now they could have
- 39:24Speaker 11: had a guy ready to go.
- 39:26Speaker 6: Correct, you would have a guy that you could have
- 39:28Speaker 6: acquired after that Monday night game who would be ready.
- 39:32Speaker 6: If he wasn't ready to play Sunday, he'd definitely be
- 39:34Speaker 6: ready to play this week. And you have him up
- 39:36Speaker 6: to speed now. I listen. It's not like you're going
- 39:39Speaker 6: to acquire Tom Brady in his prime, Okay, but I
- 39:43Speaker 6: do think I do think you could get a guy
- 39:47Speaker 6: like case Keenum who would come in and know exactly
- 39:49Speaker 6: what you want out of him. And he's not a
- 39:52Speaker 6: world beater, but he's not going to go out there
- 39:53Speaker 6: and do that.
- 39:54Speaker 1: And with that team, that was the worst.
- 39:56Speaker 6: Quarterback performance I've seen since the last time the Patriots play.
- 40:00Speaker 6: Did him here when he had the previous worst quarterback
- 40:03Speaker 6: performance ever.
- 40:04Speaker 7: Last year was worse.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Even a modicum of success on offense is going to
- 40:07Speaker 2: make that defense even better than it is.
- 40:09Speaker 6: Like, as bad as he was in the first game
- 40:11Speaker 6: last year when he threw all the picks with stupid decisions.
- 40:14Speaker 6: At least he made a lot of plays in that game.
- 40:16Speaker 6: He did the last two times they played, he's made
- 40:18Speaker 6: no plays none.
- 40:20Speaker 7: Yeah, you're sitting there and like, Garrett Wilson is this
- 40:24Speaker 7: all world receiver And you just really feel for him
- 40:27Speaker 7: because you know, he said after the game that he
- 40:29Speaker 7: put in all this work in the off season, you know,
- 40:31Speaker 7: to get ready for the year, and he's ready to go,
- 40:33Speaker 7: and he feels like he's, you know, ready to dominate.
- 40:36Speaker 7: But it's just the rest of it's just not there
- 40:38Speaker 7: for him. And it's like, so, you know, we have
- 40:40Speaker 7: a quarterback that doesn't have a number one receiver fantasy team,
- 40:43Speaker 7: and yeah, they have a number one receiver that doesn't
- 40:45Speaker 7: have a quarterback. And it's like if we just like
- 40:47Speaker 7: switch locker rooms real quick, Like would anybody notice that
- 40:50Speaker 7: Garrett Wilson just walked over to the Patriots.
- 40:53Speaker 6: We'll give himjuju, I'll make it fit.
- 40:55Speaker 8: I read the transcript of that, and then it was
- 40:56Speaker 8: you know, we said all this stuff like I just
- 40:58Speaker 8: I don't know what to do. I'm just gonna stay ready,
- 41:00Speaker 8: and they're like, well what about you know, how do
- 41:01Speaker 8: you feel about Zach?
- 41:02Speaker 6: And it was like, oh, yeah, that's my dog.
- 41:04Speaker 8: I'm like, oh boy, Like they're all trying to.
- 41:06Speaker 6: Just based on what I saw on the sideline last year,
- 41:08Speaker 6: I thought there were a lot of signs that they
- 41:10Speaker 6: don't really even like this kid, you know, based on
- 41:13Speaker 6: what I saw band, based on what I saw on Sunday,
- 41:16Speaker 6: you know, reading between the lines, I would say that
- 41:18Speaker 6: Zach Wilson probably did a lot in the off season
- 41:21Speaker 6: in the summer to restore his relationship because they were like,
- 41:26Speaker 6: were really treating him with kid gloves. They were really trying.
- 41:30Speaker 6: I thought like they kept showing, like Fred, I don't
- 41:32Speaker 6: know how much you saw, Like at the broadcast after
- 41:35Speaker 6: every one of these series, they were showing the Jets
- 41:36Speaker 6: silent because I think they were they were waiting, when's
- 41:39Speaker 6: the explosion coming, And like every time it wasn't really yelling.
- 41:43Speaker 6: It was like, come on, come on, we can do it.
- 41:45Speaker 6: You can come on, Hey, we got this, we got
- 41:48Speaker 6: we could, we could still do this. I just can't
- 41:50Speaker 6: And they just weren't even closer solid.
- 41:52Speaker 7: Just coming to the podium twice now since the game
- 41:55Speaker 7: Monday morning or Monday afternoon and Sunday after the game
- 41:59Speaker 7: and just saying that he gives us the best chance
- 42:01Speaker 7: to win, and like, I get that until they get
- 42:03Speaker 7: another quarterback in they have to say.
- 42:05Speaker 6: Over Tim Boyle, Yeah, I mean he probably does.
- 42:08Speaker 7: I just can't. I can't imagine how you look the
- 42:11Speaker 7: other fifty two guys in the face in that locker
- 42:13Speaker 7: room and say like, we're not gonna do anything as
- 42:16Speaker 7: an organization to upgrade the quarterback position, and we're gonna
- 42:19Speaker 7: just go down with Zach Wilson. Because that team with
- 42:23Speaker 7: Zack Wilson, I don't know how many games they're gonna win.
- 42:25Speaker 7: I mean, point blank.
- 42:26Speaker 6: I don't. I don't see them beating anybody with him playing,
- 42:30Speaker 6: unless that they change the way they're doing it and
- 42:34Speaker 6: live with some mistakes if you let me, if you
- 42:36Speaker 6: make him play like that, he can't. He's not good enough. No,
- 42:41Speaker 6: he's not good enough to play without sort of letting
- 42:43Speaker 6: it rip a little bit. And then he's not good
- 42:45Speaker 6: enough to avoid mistakes. So you screwed either way.
- 42:48Speaker 7: Yeah, there are some stretches in his rookie season. They're
- 42:51Speaker 7: like a two game stretch and I act like it
- 42:53Speaker 7: was like a whole year, but like I think it
- 42:55Speaker 7: was like two or three games where he was just
- 42:57Speaker 7: letting it rip, and he made some really good was
- 43:00Speaker 7: off structure, you know, like outside the pocket against Tennessee.
- 43:03Speaker 7: They beat Tennessee in Tennessee. I think his rookie season,
- 43:06Speaker 7: they upset them. I remember that, and he made some
- 43:08Speaker 7: really good down the field throws, and uh, you know,
- 43:11Speaker 7: you just wonder like maybe he is just kind of
- 43:14Speaker 7: a loose cannon and like trying to put you know,
- 43:16Speaker 7: training wheels on him and trying to strap him down
- 43:18Speaker 7: may not be the best thing for them, because like
- 43:21Speaker 7: at this point, like who cares? Like That's what I
- 43:23Speaker 7: was thinking on Sunday.
- 43:23Speaker 1: It was like.
- 43:24Speaker 7: Just just chuck one up to Garrett Wilson at some point,
- 43:27Speaker 7: like who.
- 43:27Speaker 6: Can't believe they didn't try? How many times did I
- 43:29Speaker 6: say it?
- 43:29Speaker 8: But it was what scared me when the game was
- 43:31Speaker 8: that close and it was coming down to the end
- 43:32Speaker 8: and you're looking at the how is this and you
- 43:35Speaker 8: were just waiting for that one.
- 43:36Speaker 2: That's about the Jets. Bretton Austin, Texas says, I thought
- 43:41Speaker 2: Fred would be much happier with the implosion of the
- 43:43Speaker 2: Jets as he hoped for. Is he just feeling bad
- 43:45Speaker 2: for them? Hell No, I don't feel bad for them,
- 43:48Speaker 2: you know.
- 43:48Speaker 8: Get what they deserve.
- 43:49Speaker 1: I'm I'm I'm happy.
- 43:51Speaker 6: I think Fred was looking for Aaron Rodgers to just
- 43:54Speaker 6: not work.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of like gets it.
- 43:57Speaker 6: I mean, even a Fred caliber hater of the Jets
- 44:00Speaker 6: would say, well, the quarterback played four plays.
- 44:03Speaker 7: So Trevor Simeon is signing with the Jets.
- 44:06Speaker 8: Now there it is.
- 44:07Speaker 6: That's not good enough. Yeah, that's it might have been
- 44:11Speaker 6: good enough on Sunday.
- 44:12Speaker 7: It's funny because that literally just broke it as we
- 44:14Speaker 7: were having this conversation.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Who is their backup right now?
- 44:18Speaker 6: Timoy? I know, I know see that. That's the other
- 44:22Speaker 6: thing is they You're right, Fred, we can get off
- 44:24Speaker 6: the Jets here. But like they should have I think
- 44:27Speaker 6: I understand why they had to keep Wilson, but they
- 44:30Speaker 6: should have brought someone in for a bet. There were
- 44:31Speaker 6: a lot of veterans that changed teams that they could
- 44:34Speaker 6: have signed.
- 44:35Speaker 1: All right.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Eight five to five Pass five hundred is the a
- 44:37Speaker 2: ticket hotline web radio at Patriots dot com. It's the
- 44:40Speaker 2: email address one of two Patriots heading to Dallas. Dallas
- 44:44Speaker 2: had a bad loss to the Cardinals, who we thought
- 44:47Speaker 2: were giving up on the season before it even started.
- 44:50Speaker 1: But I guess not. They've been playing tough Sean's and Vancouver.
- 44:53Speaker 6: What's up, Sean, I have a rant on that I believe.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:58Speaker 12: So on the broadcast during the Patriots first drive, the
- 45:02Speaker 12: graphic for the starting offensive line for some reason, I
- 45:06Speaker 12: don't know why it said Calvin Anderson.
- 45:08Speaker 10: Was at right tackle because I don't think that was more.
- 45:11Speaker 12: Than a couple of stamps.
- 45:12Speaker 6: He didn't play.
- 45:14Speaker 12: Yeah, I don't know why they put that. Well, I
- 45:15Speaker 12: think he did.
- 45:16Speaker 6: Because that was the game one. That was the offensive
- 45:19Speaker 6: alignment that they had on the flip card, so that
- 45:21Speaker 6: you only go by the intimation they have. But Yesdarian
- 45:24Speaker 6: Lowell played right tackle for the whole game.
- 45:26Speaker 12: Yeah, the whole game. Crazy, No, I agree. I agree
- 45:31Speaker 12: with you Fred as well about about this particular game.
- 45:35Speaker 12: That it's a win and that's what it is. And
- 45:37Speaker 12: I think it's what you were saying, Paula. People have
- 45:39Speaker 12: these crazy expectations of what it was five or six
- 45:42Speaker 12: years ago, and it's that's not what this team is.
- 45:45Speaker 12: It's it's a middling team. And like you're saying, like
- 45:48Speaker 12: there's toss up games, this was a toss up game.
- 45:51Speaker 12: There's if I'm looking at it, I'm going to say
- 45:53Speaker 12: there's five games coming up that I'm going to pencil
- 45:56Speaker 12: in as a lot, but the others are tossed up.
- 45:59Speaker 12: So if everything went the way I think it will go,
- 46:01Speaker 12: which it won't, but I would say, you know, they
- 46:03Speaker 12: can win ten games, and it doesn't mean they're a
- 46:06Speaker 12: great team, doesn't mean they're they're they're a terrible team
- 46:09Speaker 12: or somewhere in the middle, and that's what that's what
- 46:11Speaker 12: that is. But one thing, one thing about Wilson though
- 46:15Speaker 12: that I did find a little better. And yeah, he's awful,
- 46:17Speaker 12: but from last year he wasn't. He was making the
- 46:20Speaker 12: mistakes where they were getting them pressure, and he'd throw interceptions.
- 46:22Speaker 12: At least this this game he threw it away. He
- 46:25Speaker 12: didn't he threw out of bounds or I.
- 46:27Speaker 7: Don't know which one.
- 46:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I disagree. I thought he created a lot of
- 46:30Speaker 6: the pressure that that he faced. They were all over
- 46:33Speaker 6: him because he just kept drifting out of the pocket.
- 46:36Speaker 7: And yeah, the last two games that they've played him,
- 46:39Speaker 7: instead of being a turnover machine, he's been gunshot. And
- 46:42Speaker 7: I just I don't know which one is better. Like
- 46:46Speaker 7: you said, it just invites press or to just sit there.
- 46:48Speaker 6: If I would Adjeest. I would much rather the twenty
- 46:50Speaker 6: two to seventeen loss in the first game last year
- 46:53Speaker 6: than the last two. Yeah, because at least you had
- 46:55Speaker 6: a puncher's chance.
- 46:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Thanks Sean. Let's go to Todd in North Carolina.
- 46:59Speaker 13: Hey, Todd, Hey, I found it a little bit disconcerting
- 47:03Speaker 13: Paul's comment about the fact that they had, you know, say,
- 47:06Speaker 13: somebody like Minshew. There's a good chance that could have
- 47:09Speaker 13: won that game. And I just I feel, like I
- 47:13Speaker 13: said in that when I called in previous I thought
- 47:15Speaker 13: Mac was doing all that he possibly can.
- 47:17Speaker 14: So I don't know.
- 47:18Speaker 13: I'm curious what is the issue. Is that a Mac issue?
- 47:21Speaker 13: Is it's a coaching issue. Is it the way the
- 47:24Speaker 13: old fense is constructed issue? Is it a lack of
- 47:27Speaker 13: specific players like it?
- 47:29Speaker 2: Well, I think they're going through this transition. Like there
- 47:32Speaker 2: was one play I think Mac was setting up for
- 47:35Speaker 2: a screen. He takes a snap and his feet were
- 47:38Speaker 2: all over the place because he was just expecting, you know,
- 47:42Speaker 2: all kinds of pressure. And I think the line played
- 47:45Speaker 2: pretty well on Sunday, especially in past coverage.
- 47:50Speaker 6: I think I think the line was better than it
- 47:52Speaker 6: has been. But I don't think Mac i think Bill Miller.
- 47:54Speaker 1: That's not trusting it. Yet, he's not trusting.
- 47:56Speaker 7: I disagree with your assessments of the line.
- 47:59Speaker 1: I think Bill mad don't think it played well.
- 48:00Speaker 10: Well.
- 48:00Speaker 6: You only throw twenty nine times, you're not going to
- 48:02Speaker 6: get sacked very much. Okay, but that's the difference. You
- 48:05Speaker 6: throw fifty four times, you get sacked.
- 48:07Speaker 1: I mean he hits, he got hit a lot. Mac did.
- 48:09Speaker 13: But need to release Mac like they you guys said
- 48:12Speaker 13: that they needed to release Wilson. Take the risk because
- 48:15Speaker 13: if he if he doesn't at least try to feast,
- 48:18Speaker 13: he's just total fast.
- 48:20Speaker 8: And he's like leading the league in attempts.
- 48:23Speaker 6: I'm just getting Wilson.
- 48:26Speaker 7: I'm confused, Like, so there's to cut, like.
- 48:29Speaker 6: But he's talking about Zach Wilson. There, he said Wilson,
- 48:33Speaker 6: He said Wilson.
- 48:34Speaker 7: Anyways, the offensive line I do not think played well
- 48:38Speaker 7: in this game. Pass protection. This is the highest pressure
- 48:41Speaker 7: rate that Max ever faced in the game, well in
- 48:43Speaker 7: his career though.
- 48:44Speaker 1: I mean, you knew they were going to pressure.
- 48:46Speaker 6: But the Jets are a good defensive front. But they're
- 48:48Speaker 6: not necessarily a ferocious pass rushing unit.
- 48:51Speaker 1: But but they caused pressure there.
- 48:53Speaker 6: Yes, I think they did.
- 48:54Speaker 1: They're a strong defensive front. They're gonna win a lot
- 48:58Speaker 1: of one on one.
- 48:59Speaker 7: I thought that Trent Brown was absolutely phenomenal. One of
- 49:04Speaker 7: the best game I've ever seen him play, Absolutely funny
- 49:07Speaker 7: how that works, Absolutely phenomenal. Like the number one star
- 49:11Speaker 7: of the game for me, by a long shot is
- 49:13Speaker 7: Trent Brown.
- 49:14Speaker 6: And I've seen other people echo that I and then I'm.
- 49:17Speaker 8: Gonna I'm gonna play the other side of the fence
- 49:19Speaker 8: and say I have real worries about Cole Strange and
- 49:22Speaker 8: if he can play in.
- 49:23Speaker 2: This But like I'm watching a lot of the All
- 49:25Speaker 2: twenty two, you know, Brian Baldinger and all those guys,
- 49:29Speaker 2: and they're showing some really good blocking, especially when Zeke
- 49:32Speaker 2: was running the ball.
- 49:33Speaker 7: Run blocking is different run bocking. I thought they did
- 49:36Speaker 7: better this week. They started moving the line of scrimmage
- 49:38Speaker 7: a little bit, which is good to see. Double teams
- 49:39Speaker 7: were working. Cole Strange is a big, big problem for them.
- 49:43Speaker 7: At left guard, Antonio Maffe's not much better. I think
- 49:46Speaker 7: he's probably worse. And right tackle Darian Lowe. Uh don't
- 49:52Speaker 7: want to bash him because like he's in that spot
- 49:55Speaker 7: for no reason, Like he's not his fault that he's
- 49:57Speaker 7: playing or you know, being asked to go up against
- 50:01Speaker 7: John Franklin Myers and Bryce Hof one on one. But
- 50:04Speaker 7: I think the some of the things that I've seen
- 50:07Speaker 7: out there that that he only gave up one quarterback
- 50:10Speaker 7: hit and he played no no stop. He gave up
- 50:12Speaker 7: eight pressures the skin.
- 50:13Speaker 4: I feel bad.
- 50:13Speaker 7: That's a lot.
- 50:14Speaker 11: I feel bad that clemb is tasked with turning a
- 50:17Speaker 11: mess into a masterpiece. And in the sense of like
- 50:20Speaker 11: one bad draft, I know, but it is a mess.
- 50:25Speaker 6: It's the same four guys who played last year. He
- 50:27Speaker 6: just replaced a win.
- 50:28Speaker 11: But I think the injuries too, with those guys being
- 50:30Speaker 11: in and out, it's like without having these guys out
- 50:32Speaker 11: there consistently, it's like, how do you find cohesion?
- 50:35Speaker 8: And that's what I was kind of like holding my
- 50:37Speaker 8: breath for. But I just I mean, col Strange looks
- 50:39Speaker 8: exactly the same as he did as a rookie, but
- 50:41Speaker 8: like he's not going to suddenly gain twenty pounds and
- 50:43Speaker 8: be able to handle like he's never going to be
- 50:45Speaker 8: able to handle Quinn Williams.
- 50:46Speaker 6: You're gonna play him.
- 50:47Speaker 8: Twice a year every time, it's going to be a
- 50:49Speaker 8: problem with him going.
- 50:51Speaker 4: He uh.
- 50:53Speaker 7: The Jets very first drive of the game put Quinn
- 50:55Speaker 7: Williams over col Strange in the three technique and just
- 50:58Speaker 7: dared him to block him one on one and he
- 51:00Speaker 7: could not.
- 51:00Speaker 6: He missed like one play and it was the fifty eight.
- 51:02Speaker 7: Yard touchdowns the entire game.
- 51:05Speaker 6: The one thing I'll say that like, I do think
- 51:07Speaker 6: I mean, obviously the production in the running game was
- 51:09Speaker 6: was trying really good, you know, one hundred and fifty
- 51:11Speaker 6: seven yards. I do think that Billy Oh did a
- 51:14Speaker 6: great job in this game of hitting them with periodic
- 51:18Speaker 6: runs in passing situations, and they took advantage of it.
- 51:21Speaker 6: Like I'll give an example is right after the Jets
- 51:24Speaker 6: kicked a field goal to make it ten to three,
- 51:27Speaker 6: so they kick off, it's a touchback. You take over
- 51:29Speaker 6: first and ten. In the twenty five two minute drill,
- 51:31Speaker 6: first play fourteen yard Zeke Like that's you know, we
- 51:35Speaker 6: we caught him. I mean, that's that's the old school,
- 51:38Speaker 6: like Charlie Weiss, you know, like let's get the The
- 51:41Speaker 6: two minute drill started with the with the run. And
- 51:43Speaker 6: I did think Zeke ran better in this game than
- 51:45Speaker 6: the first two. But I thought they had a couple
- 51:48Speaker 6: of well timed runs that caught the Jets looking for pass.
- 51:51Speaker 7: They skimmed it up well, they timed it up well,
- 51:53Speaker 7: and the run back blocked it up well as well.
- 51:55Speaker 7: The double teams that I have been talking about that
- 51:58Speaker 7: it's just been no movement in the middle of the line.
- 52:01Speaker 7: They had quite a few in this game, especially in
- 52:03Speaker 7: the second half where they were moving the line of
- 52:05Speaker 7: So what I.
- 52:05Speaker 6: Would say, just freddie just to put a bow on
- 52:08Speaker 6: the running thing is. But when you needed to run
- 52:10Speaker 6: the ball and the other team knew you were going
- 52:11Speaker 6: to run the ball, you couldn't get any of you know,
- 52:13Speaker 6: Like that's why I hesitate to just look at the numbers.
- 52:18Speaker 10: All right.
- 52:19Speaker 2: When we come back, I want to talk about Remandre
- 52:21Speaker 2: Yeah a little bit because he didn't look right. But

- 53:27Speaker 10: Get everyone a very pleasant good afternoon and welcome to
- 53:30Speaker 10: met Life Stadium in the Meadowlands. It's a wheak tree
- 53:32Speaker 10: encounter of the AMC east of the only two Patriots
- 53:35Speaker 10: have a one and one New York Jets. Your second
- 53:39Speaker 10: dollion nine from the twenty six o YAH tackle in
- 53:43Speaker 10: the backfield. Jennings right and all the way nearly took
- 53:45Speaker 10: the exchange from Wilson to Hall and the Jets the
- 53:48Speaker 10: door of a loss of six back to the twenties.
- 53:51Speaker 10: What to read shot this? Daft Jones? What's just coming east? Pressure?
- 53:56Speaker 10: Throws to the left Kasick, He hasn't at the forty
- 53:58Speaker 10: outside of like shove by amens the safety trailing the
- 54:01Speaker 10: play mac Jones able to absorb my head had float
- 54:04Speaker 10: one to g Sidney to the Jets thirty six.
- 54:06Speaker 15: Boy to talk about hanging in the pocket here David
- 54:09Speaker 15: and Andrews doubles point and one.
- 54:10Speaker 10: He has a pit through Michael Winnow and Andrews. But
- 54:14Speaker 10: it's a really good throw.
- 54:15Speaker 15: On the quick out to Kasik, It's an eighteen yard out.
- 54:19Speaker 15: He's the inside slot. The boy, did you need to
- 54:21Speaker 15: play there?
- 54:23Speaker 10: From the New York forty two on the near half,
- 54:25Speaker 10: three receivers right for Wilson to blitz their gumming. Wilson
- 54:28Speaker 10: stands in loves a bounce tracker any still nobody wants
- 54:31Speaker 10: do on his own. He filled the backside and then
- 54:34Speaker 10: is touched up foot, changing wives eventually to the quarterback.
- 54:38Speaker 10: The blitz was picked up well with your Bill Peppers
- 54:40Speaker 10: coming from the second level. God does that state will
- 54:44Speaker 10: could falls great press great for us. You're in the pocket.
- 54:49Speaker 15: You do a little pressure condenses on you and you
- 54:51Speaker 15: pirouet and go down to your pull like you can
- 54:55Speaker 15: have him there.
- 54:56Speaker 10: Oh man, nothing worse than the guy that goes down
- 54:59Speaker 10: up He Mac Jones backs up, tries to screen on
- 55:04Speaker 10: the nearly intercept, you including Williams, got a hand on it.
- 55:08Speaker 10: The ball was nearly caught by Michael Carter on the run.
- 55:14Speaker 10: This is starting to get to the point this double
- 55:18Speaker 10: screen and we've been running. This is three games down.
- 55:21Speaker 15: Teams are starting to get this on film, perfectly snipped
- 55:24Speaker 15: up by the Jets.
- 55:24Speaker 10: They were waiting for them on Remandre.
- 55:27Speaker 15: They ran Douglas on a jet motion to the left,
- 55:29Speaker 15: taked it to him, came back from Madra almost eight.
- 55:32Speaker 10: Picked six, and now Ryland will attempt another forty eight yarder,
- 55:38Speaker 10: this time in the other direction from straight on, knee down.
- 55:42Speaker 10: Barringer turns to this classmate, another rookie, takes a high staff,
- 55:45Speaker 10: gets it down. Ryland's kicks sailing to the uprights. That
- 55:49Speaker 10: kick is no good. Off to the riot. There's a
- 55:51Speaker 10: high staff and the rookie. He made his second career
- 55:56Speaker 10: field goal in the first quarter has its first miss
- 55:58Speaker 10: here in the second. So again the fifty seven yard
- 56:02Speaker 10: try for Lafar half Bearinger write me down, turns to Ryland.
- 56:07Speaker 10: He leans forward in his stands, Cardona staffs at highs.
- 56:11Speaker 10: Snap is down, he does a low line drive and
- 56:13Speaker 10: it hooks to the left well short high snap and
- 56:17Speaker 10: again a second high step on a second midfield goal
- 56:20Speaker 10: attempt by Ryland. With Patriots come up empty on the
- 56:24Speaker 10: fifty seven yard at temph going to right and the left.
- 56:27Speaker 10: He's still ten to three at a half. All right,
- 56:31Speaker 10: Zach Wilson goes to work for the gun for New York.
- 56:33Speaker 10: They have really struggled the last three quarters against the Patriots,
- 56:36Speaker 10: even by Jeff pakstand and playfaking now Wilson, he's always
- 56:40Speaker 10: about say sacked great coverage and eventually Jennings at Barmore
- 56:45Speaker 10: collapse on the quarterback inside the twenty five. The officials
- 56:49Speaker 10: are gonna market at the twenty six. He doesn't want
- 56:52Speaker 10: to get hit.
- 56:53Speaker 15: He's stared at the rush right now. He's stared at
- 56:54Speaker 15: the rush. He has to have his eyes down field.
- 56:57Speaker 15: He sat down on the last drive.
- 56:58Speaker 10: Pareleta I'm shocked take when there when Aaron went down,
- 57:02Speaker 10: and they had that next meeting the next day. Hey, hey,
- 57:05Speaker 10: we're selling up. We're riding with him. That's what we're doing.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Shock.
- 57:08Speaker 10: That didn't go better than chopping as on prices running
- 57:13Speaker 10: in the purposely sat most are class rapped for over
- 57:15Speaker 10: eight thousand yards. Again a quarterback baking. Now they've got
- 57:18Speaker 10: an at fight brewing, mostly slams of Patriot had mostly
- 57:23Speaker 10: mostly should be ejected in and I wasn't your quarterback,
- 57:27Speaker 10: was it?
- 57:29Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 57:29Speaker 10: Then Jones got pushed again, just shoved and yet no
- 57:33Speaker 10: flash to this point. Are you kidding me? This crew?
- 57:36Speaker 10: Bill Vindovich, the veteran referee who's worked too super Bowls,
- 57:41Speaker 10: including Super Bowl forty nine, mostly should be ejected flag?
- 57:49Speaker 10: How can you?
- 57:50Speaker 17: How can you allah what just took place to go?
- 57:56Speaker 17: You've got to be kidding mostly Joe on Mac.
- 58:00Speaker 10: Jones at the end of the play plays that yet
- 58:02Speaker 10: was swelling in throwing jabs at Jones. KASICKI who's right
- 58:08Speaker 10: to left Jones with a playfait and I'd thrown.
- 58:10Speaker 18: Down the light seating pot by Farrell Brown pays He
- 58:13Speaker 18: got the twenty fifteen ten chase by a minute by
- 58:16Speaker 18: stretching out into the pylon butt dive for a cup
- 58:19Speaker 18: down Patrians, You've got to be kidding me.
- 58:26Speaker 10: This ball will hum so much. On Jones, I thought
- 58:29Speaker 10: the same thing's gonna get there and tell him it's a.
- 58:31Speaker 15: It's gotta be a bust and coverage on the Jets
- 58:34Speaker 15: or they just shown zero respect for Pharaoh Brown that the.
- 58:37Speaker 10: And any sort of a rope combination. And that's a
- 58:40Speaker 10: great call on Bill O'Brien because he's basically lined up
- 58:43Speaker 10: in pub and if you struck him up that right
- 58:46Speaker 10: tight end scene, nobody within five.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Yards of it.
- 58:49Speaker 10: Fifty eight yards to Farrell Brown. His first catches of
- 58:52Speaker 10: Patriot running under it playfit real white. He had to
- 58:58Speaker 10: throw a flatfering a sickie runs to the outside, tackled
- 59:01Speaker 10: in the open field by Quincy Williams and Mike is
- 59:04Speaker 10: ragged of the near boundary. I'll have a lot of
- 59:06Speaker 10: scrimmage and there's a light flag that came in laid
- 59:10Speaker 10: and Williams is a rate so jug pick the gout
- 59:16Speaker 10: mostly got he took out mostly I think the j
- 59:19Speaker 10: Matt Jones with a second down to thirteen from the
- 59:21Speaker 10: seventeen yard line, three to the left to the right,
- 59:25Speaker 10: Mac dropping back whistle South playing a stop in its tracks.
- 59:31Speaker 10: The flag the far side offer from the seventy god
- 59:35Speaker 10: drum penalty Sill threw down, pending it off the wide
- 59:39Speaker 10: hip of Joe Matt extending my hand. Another flag another
- 59:44Speaker 10: full start, all.
- 59:47Speaker 19: Start offer from the seventy one five droube penaly fire minutes.
- 59:53Speaker 15: All takes takes one silly undisciplined, undisciplined play to sort
- 59:59Speaker 15: of bring a plethor of them, and then they all start.
- 1:00:02Speaker 15: Then it all falls in line.
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: Now thirty goal to go. Jets quick snapping Wilson rolls
- 1:00:10Speaker 10: to us right, changed by Judi. Wilson looking at the
- 1:00:12Speaker 10: end zone, throws to the end zone and it's incomplete
- 1:00:15Speaker 10: cop in the back of the end zone of Miles
- 1:00:19Speaker 10: Bryant defending Randall Cobb falling over and then a blag
- 1:00:24Speaker 10: is thrown relatively late. It's not catchable ballunless you're gonna
- 1:00:27Speaker 10: get him for a hole here. And if you complain enough,
- 1:00:29Speaker 10: I guess you'd get to fly to call his pass
- 1:00:32Speaker 10: interference and Peppers taking up the cause for the Patriots
- 1:00:39Speaker 10: bleeding with Bill vinnevis for Colin Carney and Jona Ball
- 1:00:45Speaker 10: and plays the one on line I'm not goodtown.
- 1:00:48Speaker 15: It's up break because that's chucking duck play there, third down,
- 1:00:51Speaker 15: quick snapping, got nothing that's thrown up in the back.
- 1:00:56Speaker 10: As it turns out to Jets have a first and
- 1:00:58Speaker 10: goal to go from the water the.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Top.
- 1:01:02Speaker 10: It's a time both pans on the hole. The tailback
- 1:01:05Speaker 10: is a hand up to the man and bought it
- 1:01:06Speaker 10: on the plunge and for a score touchdown the York
- 1:01:11Speaker 10: so Nick bought in the full back with his first
- 1:01:14Speaker 10: career rushing a Jet and the Jets, with a quick
- 1:01:17Speaker 10: hitter a bull back plunge off the pass interference of
- 1:01:21Speaker 10: the end zone have drawn within a single score at
- 1:01:24Speaker 10: thirteen to nine. Control this game. He let this Dougs
- 1:01:30Speaker 10: ten team break back in steed one drive. That's it.
- 1:01:34Speaker 10: You're a slog of a game like this.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: It's no he's running.
- 1:01:37Speaker 10: Away at three posession game it's won. The Jets backed
- 1:01:43Speaker 10: into a third and fifteen at their five. The quarterback
- 1:01:49Speaker 10: taking the set poor man rush push up in the
- 1:01:51Speaker 10: hall six kick and Wilson goes down to the Enzo
- 1:01:55Speaker 10: Judea is there for the sack. Have a safety a
- 1:01:58Speaker 10: wrapper up, oh man?
- 1:02:01Speaker 15: What unawareness by the quarterback though whole pocket's collapsing around
- 1:02:06Speaker 15: in they spun out the prior play. You know your
- 1:02:10Speaker 15: offensive line is really struggling right now as we are
- 1:02:13Speaker 15: times the man's just poor.
- 1:02:16Speaker 10: Awareness by Wilson, great job by Judar, just shut them down.
- 1:02:22Speaker 10: Are you the final play this game? Both coming one
- 1:02:24Speaker 10: second left Alby snapping in the movie six bar hatch
- 1:02:27Speaker 10: my three receiver drove the right. We won and left
- 1:02:29Speaker 10: two d safeties for the Patriots, and I mean even
- 1:02:31Speaker 10: than mine. Wilson scrambles to the right and holds up,
- 1:02:33Speaker 10: steps up, steps up. He lost the hides throne toward
- 1:02:36Speaker 10: the end zone. That bubb will come down in the credits.
- 1:02:38Speaker 18: Batter Away, Oh my god, really cut like cop on.
- 1:02:42Speaker 10: The goal line. It's in complaint and the Patriots winning.
- 1:02:47Speaker 19: My gosh, that's a perfect throw by Wilson man two
- 1:02:54Speaker 19: yard Stephen and allows with the deflection the Karen the
- 1:02:57Speaker 19: potential catch and the boy did they almost Kyle Ducker
- 1:03:01Speaker 19: went airport knocking and Hagger with two.
- 1:03:04Speaker 10: Hands swatted the ball back and Randall Cobb was at
- 1:03:08Speaker 10: the goal line for the Jets and nearly caught it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 10: And he's been a part of those types of completions
- 1:03:14Speaker 10: in the past where Aaron Roddy. God, that's good and
- 1:03:17Speaker 10: that was a Rogers light thrown to the end zone
- 1:03:20Speaker 10: by Wilson to that spot. And as we get another
- 1:03:24Speaker 10: look on the replay, the ball hit the hands of Cob.
- 1:03:28Speaker 10: He hit the hands of God. There's all this turns
- 1:03:31Speaker 10: out of the Stree had no clue where the ball was.
- 1:03:32Speaker 10: He's trying to box out Garrett Wilson, old man. All right,
- 1:03:37Speaker 10: you hear the term of remark. Survive in advance. The
- 1:03:39Speaker 10: Patriots survived today fifteen to ten. We gay now with
- 1:03:42Speaker 10: a one and two record. They advanced into Week four
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: to de gob in Dallas Cowboys with a fifteenth consecutive
- 1:03:49Speaker 10: victory over the New York Jets.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Patriots unfelt.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: It has brought to you by the Massachusetts Office of
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: Travel and Tourism. Great memories or made in Massachusetts, no

- 1:04:13Speaker 2: perfect Massachusetts getaway at visit MA dot com. I mentioned
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Ramandre Stevenson before the break, what's.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: Going on with him? Yeah?
- 1:04:24Speaker 8: It was, you know, put him on the down list
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: in the postgame show and then you know it. I
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: guess yesterday they you know, Bill was asked about it.
- 1:04:30Speaker 8: The question, was his Ramondre right now identifying the holes
- 1:04:34Speaker 8: the way that you would like him to identify them,
- 1:04:36Speaker 8: or is he just not rolling off as many maybe
- 1:04:38Speaker 8: five or ten yard runs as he has in the
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: past in terms of yards per carry. Bill's response, Yeah,
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: I think Ramandre reads box really well, probably as good
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: as anybody we've had here. He's got really good vision.
- 1:04:46Speaker 8: Blah blah blah. So it's just to me, it seems
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: like everybody kind of recognizes that Ramondre isn't kind of
- 1:04:51Speaker 8: playing up to the standard that we kind of.
- 1:04:54Speaker 6: Hold him to.
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: And you know, a little bit of success by Zeke
- 1:04:57Speaker 8: I think highlights it a little bit because you said, well,
- 1:04:59Speaker 8: one guy is able to at least have a productive
- 1:05:01Speaker 8: day eighty yards. It is what it is, you know,
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: why isn't he? And I think it's it's a great question.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: I'm not sure did the Jets like kind of do
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: something different when Ramondre was back there.
- 1:05:11Speaker 8: There was so much like setting up the blocks and
- 1:05:13Speaker 8: it seems like it's it's slow to get there and
- 1:05:15Speaker 8: like it almost seems like he's delaying and waiting for
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: something to happen and then it just kind of comes
- 1:05:18Speaker 8: to an end instead of like waiting and then boom,
- 1:05:20Speaker 8: he's gone.
- 1:05:21Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: So I'm not sure two quick things, and I want
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: to throw it to Evan for like Fred's question, if
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: you notice anything. I think the shotgun runs are not
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: conducive to Stevens, and we talked about this last week.
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: I don't think it's in his I don't think that's
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: his best strength is to get the ball at at
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: a standstill and then he kind of like is looking
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: to pick a hole as opposed to breaking the tackles
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: like when he led the league and ydds after contact.
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: But I do think there's something to the fact of
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: when Zeke was in there. They're sort of treating it different.
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: And I don't know if you noticed any personnel changes,
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: Evan when you.
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: Watch the not necessarily personnel changes, but two weeks in
- 1:05:58Speaker 7: a row now the defense is are slanting or like
- 1:06:01Speaker 7: China's knife into gaps to get penetration in the backfield.
- 1:06:05Speaker 7: And Remandre is his his idol in football was Le'Veon
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: Bell like he wants That's what's he wants to run
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: like Le'Veon Bell, where he kind of hangs out behind
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: the blockers, like looks like through the net, you know,
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: navigates through the line and then boom right like and
- 1:06:22Speaker 7: you know, hits those like you know, ten fifteen twenty
- 1:06:25Speaker 7: yard runs when he's rolling. To be patient and to
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: be that type of runner, you need to have good
- 1:06:32Speaker 7: initial push by the offensive line because if there's early penetrators,
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: then that just completely throws it off, you know, the
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: entire process for the running back. So I asked him
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: last week about at the gun versus under center, and
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: he said that there's you know, advantages to bolt. Either
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: the under center he gets that head of steam, which
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: he likes. But in the gun he can read the
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: second level, he said, a little bit easier. He can
- 1:06:56Speaker 7: kind of manipulate the linebackers and read the second level
- 1:06:59Speaker 7: a little bit easier. So he kind of seemed to
- 1:07:01Speaker 7: say that it was, you know, not really the main thing.
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: But I don't know. To me, I agree with Paul
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: that he is a better runner downhill runner than he
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: is a shotgun runner.
- 1:07:14Speaker 10: And I do think that a lot of.
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: If you like, put a cut up together of Zeke's runs,
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: you know, positive runs and then Remondre's runs and like
- 1:07:24Speaker 7: put him right next to each other at the same time.
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: You would see differences, and you know the size of
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: the holes in the blocking, the way the defensive line
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: is playing it like you would see differences, you would.
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: Yeah, And that's kind of where I landed. And it's
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: never all or nothing. There's probably examples of yards that
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: Stevenson left on the field. But I just felt like
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: most of the time he was getting the ball, he
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: was getting smothered in the backfield, and then Elliott was
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: getting the ball and he had like edges and had
- 1:07:54Speaker 6: the ability to get out. And I do think that
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: a couple of his runs were in passing situations. I'm
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: not telling you he was only productive because of that,
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: because I thought he ran really well. He was much
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: better in this game than he was either one of
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: the first two. It's like a whole different player.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: See if he could take that to Dallas now.
- 1:08:11Speaker 8: I mean, you know they they're of their top plays.
- 1:08:13Speaker 8: I mean three of them were runs fourteen yards, thirteen yards,
- 1:08:16Speaker 8: twelve yards all by all by Zeke, all first down
- 1:08:18Speaker 8: carries on New England side of the ball. So onside
- 1:08:22Speaker 8: of the side of the field.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: What was Stevenson's yards per carry?
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: Oh under under three.
- 1:08:26Speaker 7: Well, so he's at two point nine for the year
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: three five and for what it's worth, you know, next
- 1:08:31Speaker 7: gen chracks, you know, rushing yards over expectation and he's
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: fourth worst in the league. He's lost forty seven yards
- 1:08:38Speaker 7: that they would expect him to pick up. But again,
- 1:08:42Speaker 7: I think that this is more about he didn't you know,
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: he is a type of guy that needs to like
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: know where the creases are going to be, where the
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: holes are going to be, where how the blocking is
- 1:08:51Speaker 7: going to develop, and have really good rhythm with the blocks.
- 1:08:54Speaker 7: And I just don't think that that timing and that
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: processing is is there right now. I don't think it's
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: like anything physical with Remandre. I just think that he's
- 1:09:04Speaker 7: not syncing up with the box right now.
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: But I throw it to the passing game too though,
- 1:09:08Speaker 8: and I think, like, you know, four targets, one catch,
- 1:09:10Speaker 8: three yards, we don't have to drop on third down.
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: You know, like there's just there's something not right there.
- 1:09:14Speaker 8: He was such a productive player in training camp. I
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: mean they just they threw the ball team constantly out
- 1:09:18Speaker 8: of the backfield when when they were getting ready for
- 1:09:21Speaker 8: the season. So I don't know, I'm just it's it's disappointing.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: The holding stuff back.
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: If it was a little older, i'd be worried, you
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: know about yeah, with the workload that he had last year.
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: But he's too young that I think that I.
- 1:09:33Speaker 7: Am a little bit worried about that.
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: I can't I can't be all of it, but I
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: mean he had a lot of touches last year. Yeah.
- 1:09:39Speaker 7: The drop though, I'll give him a slight reprieve because
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: right as they were going into that sequence of plays,
- 1:09:48Speaker 7: it started downpouring and like like right when that happened,
- 1:09:51Speaker 7: and it wasn't raining at that point until that point
- 1:09:54Speaker 7: in the game. So I think that at the Cincinnati
- 1:09:57Speaker 7: game a few years that that was like, you know,
- 1:09:59Speaker 7: I think a lot of Okay, let's get the towels out,
- 1:10:02Speaker 7: let's get you know, all the different you know, rain
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: gear and stuff like that.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: So uh, and Rique and Monterey says, I understand, a
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: win is a win, but we are going nowhere. Fred
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: might be thrilled about the win, but we barely beat
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: a college team at best. It's here's where I get
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: into college about that defense.
- 1:10:18Speaker 6: The Jets. There's nothing in college about the team. The
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: only college aspect is the quarterback, right, And I understand
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: that's the most important thing. That's why you won. The
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: Jets are good, Like you have to get your your
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: preconceived notions of the Jets out. The Jets are a
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: good team. They just have no quarterback.
- 1:10:36Speaker 8: Somehow they beat the Bills. I mean, you know, we
- 1:10:38Speaker 8: we we can't buy a clue against the Bills.
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: But I would wonder what will happen like the next
- 1:10:42Speaker 6: time they play, when they when they prepare for Zach
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: Wilson instead of Aaron Rodgers. But still still there's still
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: no excuse for losing that game.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: That night, Patty said, aga, what's up Patty? Going on?
- 1:10:52Speaker 14: Everyone? Hey, though I had a little bit of a
- 1:10:57Speaker 14: ran a Mac.
- 1:10:58Speaker 20: And I feel let me get through Chris. But for me,
- 1:11:03Speaker 20: I mean I'm sort of going I'm leaning more towards
- 1:11:08Speaker 20: like what Paul and I have been saying, you know,
- 1:11:11Speaker 20: to maybe I think he's just you know, I was
- 1:11:14Speaker 20: team of Cwellens for a long time, but I think
- 1:11:16Speaker 20: he might be one of those net neutral average guys.
- 1:11:20Speaker 20: I mean, he's what the biggest thing I took away
- 1:11:23Speaker 20: Sunday's game. Well, hell, I mean, he can't close out
- 1:11:27Speaker 20: a game when they're winning, just like you know, they
- 1:11:30Speaker 20: can't come back when they're losing. And maybe, I mean,
- 1:11:33Speaker 20: we saw him the twenty years of Brady's here. Those
- 1:11:36Speaker 20: those twenty years were dominated by him, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger.
- 1:11:42Speaker 20: He had a few one offs with like the rape
- 1:11:44Speaker 20: still Flack, and a couple of Super Bowl wins with
- 1:11:47Speaker 20: Eli Manning. And maybe, I mean maybe, just maybe gets
- 1:11:52Speaker 20: hot down the spread. He's kept slightning in a bottle,
- 1:11:55Speaker 20: and he won a Super Bowl with the guy. But yeah,
- 1:11:58Speaker 20: I just don't see it. I think his defense is
- 1:12:01Speaker 20: completely healthy. More notably, if all the Jones are back
- 1:12:04Speaker 20: in the defense ave backfield, his defense is really there.
- 1:12:09Speaker 14: They're legit.
- 1:12:10Speaker 20: But I don't know if the quarterback.
- 1:12:13Speaker 14: And that's where I'm at right now, and hopefully he
- 1:12:17Speaker 14: looks better Bunce bread, But who the hell knows?
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: All right, Thanks Patty h. Let's go to Bill in Oklahoma.
- 1:12:23Speaker 21: Hey, Bill, Hey, how are you guys? Real quick? We're
- 1:12:29Speaker 21: gonna go back in the way back machine. Remind me Myers'
- 1:12:32Speaker 21: contract was up at the end of last year. What
- 1:12:35Speaker 21: was the scuttle bet about not resigning him.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: The scuttle butt. The scuttle butt was he was one
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: of the uh MATC. Jones five.
- 1:12:47Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: I mean some people think that he wasn't necessarily on
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: board with the Matt Patricia Joe Judge offense. I wonder why,
- 1:12:54Speaker 6: and he was outspoken about it, and and maybe that
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: was the.
- 1:12:58Speaker 8: Reason why the I mean, let me say my part too,
- 1:13:00Speaker 8: which was totally wrong, but you know, hey, let's try
- 1:13:02Speaker 8: to upgrade this spot. Let's try to get somebody who's faster,
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: more athletic for the middle of the field.
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: That was you know, my point of view of why
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: and it was wrong, ye, in the same bot.
- 1:13:12Speaker 21: Because that goes into my next point, is I about
- 1:13:16Speaker 21: I don't normally get really really fired up during a
- 1:13:20Speaker 21: game unless it's something that I just can't help. But
- 1:13:23Speaker 21: and Juju is making me lose my hair faster than
- 1:13:28Speaker 21: I should be right now, the personal foul. Okay, So
- 1:13:32Speaker 21: Ramandre bumbles the ball last year and he gets pulled
- 1:13:35Speaker 21: out of the game.
- 1:13:36Speaker 14: For the rest of the game.
- 1:13:37Speaker 21: Juju misses and he's not on the same page. He
- 1:13:40Speaker 21: wasn't all app and he wasn't at training camp. He
- 1:13:43Speaker 21: was barely when he was he didn't do anything, and
- 1:13:46Speaker 21: then he gets a personal foul.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Why are we not.
- 1:13:49Speaker 6: Plenty because he's a veteran because he paid? Oh I understand,
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: but that's no, I'm not telling you I like it.
- 1:13:56Speaker 6: I'm telling you that's the reason. Like a Qi Elliot
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: fumbled ball the first play that he was a Patriot,
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: he didn't lose a second of playing time, right, It's
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: it's it's a thing.
- 1:14:07Speaker 7: The one thing about Juju that that concerned me in
- 1:14:10Speaker 7: terms of the Myers versus Juju comp You know, the
- 1:14:12Speaker 7: metrics favored Juju in a lot of categories, but man
- 1:14:16Speaker 7: coverage was the one thing that Myer. Myers is a
- 1:14:19Speaker 7: better route runner, better separator against man coverage than Juju
- 1:14:23Speaker 7: and has been for a couple of years now. And
- 1:14:26Speaker 7: I think that that's coming to fruition. Like I can't
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: help but think that some of those third down plays,
- 1:14:31Speaker 7: maybe Myers and Mack are on the same page and
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: they make those completions and it's a different situation.
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: And I'll say this about you know, the Juju and
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: Myers thing, and it's an example of where, you know,
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: like why I think you need metrics. I think the
- 1:14:45Speaker 6: more information you have in sports, the better the more,
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: but sometimes you still have to go old school. And
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: I think where people miss it is in a couple
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: of ways. One of them is just what Evan just
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: kind of talked about, like, you know, my just found
- 1:15:01Speaker 6: a way to get open, okay. Another one is who
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: is quantifying the amount of space that Juju Smith Schuster
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: had to work in Kansas City with Patrick Mahomes and
- 1:15:12Speaker 6: Travis Kelcey as opposed to a good point Jacoby Myers
- 1:15:15Speaker 6: with Matt Patricia Colin plays in Mac Jones and the
- 1:15:18Speaker 6: rest of that skill position guys. Okay. And one last
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: intangible that doesn't show up on a spreadsheet anywhere is
- 1:15:26Speaker 6: Mac loved the guy. Mac clearly went to Myers when
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: he needed a play, and more often than not it worked,
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: and they still pulled the plug on it like that.
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: Those things don't show up in metrics. It's not yards
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: have to catch, it's not man or zone. It's not
- 1:15:42Speaker 6: something you can put on a sheet. It's something you
- 1:15:45Speaker 6: just have to sort of identify and look.
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: At a we're with Paulick.
- 1:15:48Speaker 11: You can't buy the chemistry that they had and then
- 1:15:51Speaker 11: he's got to have it moments specifically in the Jets
- 1:15:53Speaker 11: game that just happened, Jacoby would have probably gotten a
- 1:15:55Speaker 11: lot of those third downs, so that that would have
- 1:15:57Speaker 11: gotten his first on.
- 1:15:57Speaker 6: The Patriots, he would have gotten one of them. Yeah,
- 1:15:59Speaker 6: for sure.
- 1:16:00Speaker 7: It just your point of like the we from the
- 1:16:04Speaker 7: outside looking in, like, we know that Mac and Jacoby
- 1:16:08Speaker 7: were close and they had good chemistry, But from the
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: outside looking in, we can only go with the information
- 1:16:12Speaker 7: that we have, right, And there's two things about the
- 1:16:15Speaker 7: Juju signing that really irk me. One is the chemistry
- 1:16:18Speaker 7: thing on the field with Mac and the quarterback and Jacoby.
- 1:16:21Speaker 7: The coaches are with those guys every single day, so
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: they know how close Mac and Jacoby were. They know
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: how much Mac trusted Jacoby and they still went this way.
- 1:16:30Speaker 7: The other thing is the medicals. They knew when they
- 1:16:33Speaker 7: signed Juju that his knee was a problem, and they
- 1:16:37Speaker 7: did it anyways. So those are two pieces of information
- 1:16:40Speaker 7: that we do not have as much information. We all
- 1:16:43Speaker 7: watch the same film, we all have the same stats,
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: but we don't have the ability to be inside the
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: locker room to know the relationships with the players as
- 1:16:50Speaker 7: well as they do. And we don't know the medical
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: side of things. And those two boxes clearly have favored
- 1:16:55Speaker 7: Jacoby Meyers heavily, and they just ignored them.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: You gotta wrap it up.
- 1:17:01Speaker 21: Approving of all the teams in the in the NFL,
- 1:17:04Speaker 21: the Raiders are proving that he is the better receiver
- 1:17:07Speaker 21: at this point.
- 1:17:08Speaker 8: It's just amazing.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: All right, thanks for the call, Bill. Let's go to
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Eldred North Carolina.
- 1:17:13Speaker 16: Hey, Aldred, Hey, all right, Yeah, I'm feeling a little
- 1:17:24Speaker 16: just carnt it, but I haven't I feel your pain, bro.
- 1:17:27Speaker 6: I've been fitting your paymaker, playmaker, painker. He's looking for
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: a playmaker.
- 1:17:35Speaker 22: We don't need it, We don't need to do one.
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: I get misquoted so much I get quoted. I get
- 1:17:43Speaker 6: misquoted so mudd someone someone wrote, Someone wrote an as
- 1:17:48Speaker 6: pf W when a guy who hates me with a passion,
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: I'll say that up front, right vicious stuff to me
- 1:17:53Speaker 6: all the time, which which is fine because I take
- 1:17:55Speaker 6: them all. But he's he suggested that I said that
- 1:17:58Speaker 6: they should trade a lot of resources to get justin fields,
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: Like can you guys tell me when I.
- 1:18:04Speaker 7: Suggested I was actually gonna ask you guys about that,
- 1:18:06Speaker 7: because I was.
- 1:18:07Speaker 6: Like, can you guys say that? Like I said that
- 1:18:10Speaker 6: if you wanted Justin Fields, he would have been easily
- 1:18:12Speaker 6: because the Giants, I mean the Bears didn't have to
- 1:18:14Speaker 6: give up much to go from like twenty to eleven,
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: and the Patriots were fifteen, so they wouldn't have had
- 1:18:21Speaker 6: to give up much to do it. Yeah, and I
- 1:18:24Speaker 6: liked Justin Fields coming out. I'll own that I'm not
- 1:18:26Speaker 6: gonna walk away from that. I liked Justin fields skill set.
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: I even am so stubborn that I think God forbid
- 1:18:32Speaker 6: that if he had a competent head coach like Bill Belichick,
- 1:18:35Speaker 6: that maybe Justin Fields would be even better than you think,
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: you know, in this kind of a school. Now, maybe
- 1:18:42Speaker 6: it wouldn't have worked. Maybe he still would have gotten
- 1:18:43Speaker 6: Matt Patricia and it wouldn't have worked. Who knows, But
- 1:18:47Speaker 6: I would have liked to have seen Justin Fields work
- 1:18:49Speaker 6: with Josh McDaniels as a rookie and see where he
- 1:18:52Speaker 6: is in year three as opposed to Matt Eberflus and
- 1:18:55Speaker 6: Matt Naggy, which I think has been a disaster in Chicago.
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: But I never suggested trading a lot of resources to
- 1:19:03Speaker 6: do that to move up four spots. Carry Sorry, we
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: should have got it.
- 1:19:10Speaker 16: But other than that, I haven't mean you could be
- 1:19:14Speaker 16: playing for the next couple of years because just this GM,
- 1:19:18Speaker 16: just with Gime, won't.
- 1:19:18Speaker 14: Get the guy that we need.
- 1:19:20Speaker 16: And if they come to Jesus meeting with mister Craft,
- 1:19:23Speaker 16: oh here, he's.
- 1:19:24Speaker 23: Going that the only time we're gonna get them, got
- 1:19:26Speaker 23: them kind of guy.
- 1:19:27Speaker 14: So we're gonna be doing this for you.
- 1:19:28Speaker 22: I've been a team.
- 1:19:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm with you. You know, Patty was talking about
- 1:19:35Speaker 7: Mac and I think you know, I don't want people
- 1:19:39Speaker 7: to think that I think Max stinks. I don't think
- 1:19:41Speaker 7: Max stinks. I just think that he's average. But in
- 1:19:44Speaker 7: order to get him to be better than average, they
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: have to do what Eldrid is saying. And that's all
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: I've been saying all along was we have to call
- 1:19:51Speaker 7: a spade to spade with Mac, which is that he's
- 1:19:53Speaker 7: just okay, not not terrible, not good, just okay. But
- 1:19:58Speaker 7: if he had better weapons around him, I can't help
- 1:20:01Speaker 7: but thinking it would be better. Now, if you want
- 1:20:02Speaker 7: to upgrade the quarterback and you want to go down
- 1:20:04Speaker 7: that path, fine like that, that's a fine way to
- 1:20:07Speaker 7: solve the problem too. But if this is who your
- 1:20:09Speaker 7: quarterback is and there's really no upgrade there, or reasonable upgrade.
- 1:20:14Speaker 7: Then the only logical thing to do is to go
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: get him a Garrett Wilson, to go get him a
- 1:20:20Speaker 7: Tyreek kill.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: I mean watching I'm watching the Raiders game, and I
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: know this, you know, is a step below the elite quarterbacks,
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: but like Devontae Adams makes him so much better.
- 1:20:31Speaker 8: Put the zip code, you know.
- 1:20:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I think how many picks I would give up
- 1:20:35Speaker 7: for Devonte Adams would be a boatload.
- 1:20:37Speaker 11: I mean the prime example is the forty nine ers.
- 1:20:39Speaker 11: You look at mister irrelevant and you look at who
- 1:20:42Speaker 11: is around him, like if he if you put Rock
- 1:20:45Speaker 11: Party on this team, he would not look the way
- 1:20:46Speaker 11: he looks right now. I mean, he did not play
- 1:20:48Speaker 11: well the other night, and they still want there often
- 1:20:50Speaker 11: still looks incredible.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: Yeah, because of who they surrounded him. You could put
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: anybody in that in that offense.
- 1:20:55Speaker 7: I mean take Shanahan too, or yes, you could.
- 1:20:58Speaker 11: Put anybody except maybe Zach Wilson in that offense and
- 1:21:00Speaker 11: they're gonna look great.
- 1:21:01Speaker 7: We might we might make Zach Wilson look good.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: Williams and fellam, what's up William.
- 1:21:07Speaker 16: Hey?
- 1:21:07Speaker 10: Fred?
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: How you doing all right?
- 1:21:10Speaker 24: All right?
- 1:21:14Speaker 6: Sea Breeze. They won, Paul, I'm telling you this.
- 1:21:22Speaker 14: All the statis are killing anyway. Okay, let me say like.
- 1:21:26Speaker 24: This, thirty and six thirty and sixteen, third and eighteen
- 1:21:31Speaker 24: Max needs his number one wide receivers. I mean, can
- 1:21:35Speaker 24: we can we stop with this? Well, okay, if he stopped,
- 1:21:39Speaker 24: if the receiver stop thumbling the ball and all this
- 1:21:42Speaker 24: old nonsense, Okay, how about just stop playing those dumb
- 1:21:45Speaker 24: games right and this go get justin Jallason give up.
- 1:21:48Speaker 20: What two first round picks?
- 1:21:50Speaker 24: A third and eyed damn man three? I mean, can
- 1:21:53Speaker 24: we really get this man of receiver that?
- 1:21:55Speaker 14: I mean, We've been going through this for too long now.
- 1:21:57Speaker 23: I mean, like as long as Bill GM, it's.
- 1:22:01Speaker 24: A mess man, you got to get rid of his
- 1:22:04Speaker 24: I've got to get rid of him as GM. I'm
- 1:22:06Speaker 24: the standing coasting because I know, I know Ju's got
- 1:22:08Speaker 24: his hand in his back pocket.
- 1:22:10Speaker 20: So you know, I know how that's going though.
- 1:22:11Speaker 10: But you know what I mean.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: But the thing is, it's like they.
- 1:22:18Speaker 7: I do, like the whole thing about build a GM.
- 1:22:21Speaker 7: Like look, I'm the first one to get on the
- 1:22:23Speaker 7: soapbox with William about the receivers, like we're all on
- 1:22:26Speaker 7: the same page there. The rest of the roster, though,
- 1:22:28Speaker 7: other than maybe tackle, is not that bad. Like the
- 1:22:31Speaker 7: rest of the defense is stacked, Like the defense might
- 1:22:34Speaker 7: have some of the best depth and most talent of
- 1:22:36Speaker 7: any defense in the NFL besides maybe San Francisco's. Like
- 1:22:40Speaker 7: they are stacked on defense and they're not even healthy,
- 1:22:43Speaker 7: and they're gonna get some of the guys back, like
- 1:22:45Speaker 7: Jonathan Jones didn't even play. Jack Jones I think is
- 1:22:48Speaker 7: working his way back and is getting close and he's
- 1:22:51Speaker 7: eligible to return after Week four. Like they're getting some
- 1:22:54Speaker 7: guys back to even add to what they've already done
- 1:22:56Speaker 7: on defense, Like Kean White is is going to be
- 1:22:59Speaker 7: a game wrecker. I think, you know, whether it's bar
- 1:23:01Speaker 7: more level or more regardless, he can't even get on
- 1:23:04Speaker 7: the field right Like, you know, they can't even play
- 1:23:07Speaker 7: him or Marty Mapu right now. They've made strides in
- 1:23:11Speaker 7: areas of this roster, they just have not at the
- 1:23:14Speaker 7: receiver position, Like that's really all it is. Like if
- 1:23:17Speaker 7: they had a Jerry Judy, if they had a T. Higgins,
- 1:23:20Speaker 7: they're not going to get Justin Jefferson, So let's like
- 1:23:22Speaker 7: just give up on that. But if they got if
- 1:23:26Speaker 7: the Bengals keep heading down the path that they're heading
- 1:23:29Speaker 7: down right now in their season and they're not going
- 1:23:31Speaker 7: to pay t Higgins at the end in the off
- 1:23:33Speaker 7: season at the deadline, yeah, I would absolutely be calling
- 1:23:36Speaker 7: the Bengals the same thing with the Broncos, and Jerry.
- 1:23:38Speaker 6: Judy is your guy if you're looking to make a deal.
- 1:23:41Speaker 6: I think Cincinnati is going to be fine, provided that
- 1:23:45Speaker 6: very positive doesn't explode. I think Denver, if Denver's going
- 1:23:49Speaker 6: to be looking at you like somebody on.
- 1:23:50Speaker 7: That roster, Judy, I would call for Judy now, Like
- 1:23:56Speaker 7: I wouldn't wait until November first to make that deal.
- 1:24:00Speaker 7: Like I would try to get him in the building
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: as soon as you possibly can. I would be calling
- 1:24:03Speaker 7: Denver immediately and being like, we offered you this in
- 1:24:07Speaker 7: the because they I believe there were reports out there
- 1:24:10Speaker 7: that they tried to trade for Judy in the offseason already.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: If you're the Jets, would you trade for Russell Wilson.
- 1:24:16Speaker 7: In that contract?
- 1:24:17Speaker 11: No?
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Yikes, Kenny and Flatsboro, Uh oh, I did that. I'm sorry,
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: Kenny Calder.
- 1:24:25Speaker 6: All right, So while you're waiting, while you're waiting for
- 1:24:26Speaker 6: him to call, wa Okay, so just real quick, the
- 1:24:30Speaker 6: the Arizona thing. I finally, I don't know if you
- 1:24:33Speaker 6: guys saw any of the do you guys see the
- 1:24:34Speaker 6: video with manty ausen Ford by the way, Oh no,
- 1:24:36Speaker 6: absolutely crazy? They won the game. Okay, they very much
- 1:24:41Speaker 6: are tanking. And this is I'm glad this this got
- 1:24:43Speaker 6: brought up because I think tanking is one of the
- 1:24:45Speaker 6: most misunderstood words in sports. They're playing their asses off.
- 1:24:52Speaker 6: What when you tank, it's a philosophical decision to get
- 1:24:55Speaker 6: rid of as many players that might help you win
- 1:24:58Speaker 6: games as you can that aren't going to be there
- 1:25:00Speaker 6: to be part of when you expect to be good again.
- 1:25:03Speaker 6: And that's why you see like Isaiah Simmons get traded
- 1:25:05Speaker 6: before the season, like he's not gonna be a You're
- 1:25:07Speaker 6: not gonna re sign him, so he's not gonna be around.
- 1:25:10Speaker 6: But that's three games that they played their butts off.
- 1:25:15Speaker 6: And I who's their offensive coordinator?
- 1:25:17Speaker 7: Evan So their offensive coordinator. I actually had to do
- 1:25:19Speaker 7: some research on him because I've never heard of this guy,
- 1:25:22Speaker 7: Drew Pearson.
- 1:25:23Speaker 6: Or something like that. That guy's coaching his butt off. Yeah,
- 1:25:28Speaker 6: all three games they came out of the locker room
- 1:25:30Speaker 6: ready to go up, especially the last two less so
- 1:25:34Speaker 6: against Washington, the Giants. In the Dallas game, they were
- 1:25:38Speaker 6: unstoppable in the first half. That tells me that they're
- 1:25:41Speaker 6: Drew Petsing. Okay, never heard him. It's pets not pets not.
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: Of the Cardinals, because I don't know who this guy is.
- 1:25:50Speaker 6: So that they like they they obviously have some game
- 1:25:54Speaker 6: plans that are completely taken the opponent by surprise. Now
- 1:25:58Speaker 6: they don't have a lot of talent, so eventually they
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: get slowed down. But that's that's tanking. You can play hard.
- 1:26:05Speaker 6: You got a bunch of young guys that are trying
- 1:26:07Speaker 6: to win the game and trying to establish themselves as
- 1:26:09Speaker 6: NFL players, and they they probably should be two and one, right,
- 1:26:14Speaker 6: you know, and they could be three and oh with
- 1:26:16Speaker 6: a break here there they were, you know, they were
- 1:26:18Speaker 6: right in the Washington game. They blew the Giants game,
- 1:26:20Speaker 6: and then they blew the Cowboys out because they kept
- 1:26:23Speaker 6: coming up with red zone stops. The Cowboys were one
- 1:26:25Speaker 6: for five in the red zone.
- 1:26:26Speaker 7: They're their offense is really well done.
- 1:26:30Speaker 6: Josh Dobbs and Joshua Dobbs can't play like they and
- 1:26:33Speaker 6: they score they played they have a lot of team
- 1:26:35Speaker 6: speed on the offense too, and and they they gave
- 1:26:38Speaker 6: Dallas a ton of problems.
- 1:26:39Speaker 7: And I was like, and the eye candy and all this.
- 1:26:44Speaker 7: I was like, what who is this offensive coordinator? So
- 1:26:47Speaker 7: he came from Cleveland, you know, so he's from that
- 1:26:50Speaker 7: like Stefanski norv Turner, like that sort of tree. But
- 1:26:54Speaker 7: I was really really impressed with how fast and how
- 1:26:57Speaker 7: hard they played in that game against Dallas, Like that
- 1:26:59Speaker 7: was a really really good offensive performance given.
- 1:27:02Speaker 10: What they have.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: Kenny, what's up? Kenny?
- 1:27:06Speaker 22: Hey guys, I'm first time calling into the show, but
- 1:27:10Speaker 22: I just want to let you guys know I watched
- 1:27:12Speaker 22: all Patriots media, so Evan Lezar, shout out to you,
- 1:27:16Speaker 22: my man, you are a genius.
- 1:27:18Speaker 7: Shout out bro right far, but thank you, Kenny, appreciate.
- 1:27:21Speaker 22: Let me tell you why, because I watched the Cash
- 1:27:23Speaker 22: twenty two with you and Alex bar and not in
- 1:27:26Speaker 22: the game you were talking about going under center, like
- 1:27:29Speaker 22: having the offense go under center, and I was like, well, hey,
- 1:27:33Speaker 22: let me just watch this, and then when the game
- 1:27:35Speaker 22: goes on, I'm watching them go on the center. Positive play,
- 1:27:37Speaker 22: positive play. I'm like, man, Evans is all needs to
- 1:27:40Speaker 22: be like the like offensive whisper and like in therophes.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: You know, the chicken.
- 1:27:49Speaker 7: Thanks Kenny, I appreciate it.
- 1:27:51Speaker 22: Not enough people appreciate Evan guys, all right, And you know,
- 1:27:55Speaker 22: for me, I'm just looking to see, like you know,
- 1:27:57Speaker 22: I'm kind of one of those fans, and I'm like, Okay,
- 1:27:59Speaker 22: let's see how the season stakes out, you know, because
- 1:28:02Speaker 22: you know I have I guess I'm a little bit
- 1:28:03Speaker 22: more optimistic, like, Okay, let's let's see how, like our
- 1:28:06Speaker 22: offensive line gets healthier. Maybe Juju gets a little bit healthier.
- 1:28:10Speaker 22: Maybe they're possibly load managing him. Maybe I don't know,
- 1:28:14Speaker 22: but you know, let's see how the season shakes out.
- 1:28:16Speaker 22: But like, you know, let's see how we got injuries.
- 1:28:19Speaker 22: I believe in Tommy Current when he's like, we got
- 1:28:20Speaker 22: we got a couple of wins there, So I was
- 1:28:22Speaker 22: just goway and see.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: Yeah, little engine that could Jets.
- 1:28:25Speaker 7: I will say about Juju because he's catching a lot
- 1:28:27Speaker 7: of flak, which understandably, so I do think that they're
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: starting to figure out like the best ways to use Juju.
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: I think when they signed Juju. The in the first
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: couple of games, he's running like all of these like
- 1:28:39Speaker 7: quick change of direction routes like whip routes and things
- 1:28:41Speaker 7: like that, and he's just not creating any separation and
- 1:28:44Speaker 7: it's just not really his game. So as much as
- 1:28:47Speaker 7: they need to get the timing and the you know,
- 1:28:49Speaker 7: chemistry down on some of these these fades that they
- 1:28:51Speaker 7: threw in Sunday's game, Like, that's the juju that I
- 1:28:54Speaker 7: remember watching, right, it's you know, down the field routes,
- 1:28:57Speaker 7: you know, slants, digs, fade routes like slot fades, you know,
- 1:29:01Speaker 7: things like that like that. That's usc that's Pittsburgh juju.
- 1:29:05Speaker 7: Like that's he was never a jitterbug, Like, he was
- 1:29:09Speaker 7: never a quick hit, change of direction type of receiver.
- 1:29:13Speaker 7: So I'm hoping that that there will be more plays
- 1:29:16Speaker 7: like as they continue to figure out the personnel. And
- 1:29:19Speaker 7: that was the biggest takeaway for me, other than the
- 1:29:22Speaker 7: fact that they were able to play with the lead
- 1:29:24Speaker 7: so they didn't have to throw the ball, you know,
- 1:29:26Speaker 7: fifty times, that they were kind of figuring out like
- 1:29:30Speaker 7: all right, how does O'Brien view the personnel and like
- 1:29:33Speaker 7: what are the best buttons to push here with this
- 1:29:35Speaker 7: group of playmakers? And I thought that they had a
- 1:29:39Speaker 7: nice more you know, kind of gel to it like
- 1:29:42Speaker 7: it looked like the way I would expect it to
- 1:29:44Speaker 7: have looked when they brought O'Brien back, you know, and
- 1:29:47Speaker 7: not as much in the first two weeks.
- 1:29:49Speaker 10: Uh.
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: The email addresses web radio at patries dot com. David
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: and Bethlehem writes in guys, take some vitamin D to
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: booi your mood. Context Egos are a top five offense,
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: not defense. Miami is top five in offense, just top
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: five in defense. The Patriots are battling. Question what's wrong
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: with Stevenson's stutter stepping every time?
- 1:30:10Speaker 6: Why don't you take some invited yeah, you know, and
- 1:30:12Speaker 6: realize that he's trying as hard as he can. Right,
- 1:30:16Speaker 6: I'm just kidding.
- 1:30:17Speaker 22: Fair.
- 1:30:17Speaker 6: The email's fair. I'm not a big fan of it.
- 1:30:20Speaker 6: I know I predicted it, and it happened my predicted.
- 1:30:23Speaker 6: On the post game show, we will get inundated with ooh,
- 1:30:27Speaker 6: I guess the Patriots defense is better than you thought
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: after they scored seventy that. I don't care what they
- 1:30:31Speaker 6: did against Denver. I don't care what happens against Denver.
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: I only saw what I happened, but I saw well
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: nobody except the night against the Patriots. They scored at
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: will the night against the Chargers. They scored at will
- 1:30:43Speaker 6: the night against the Broncos, they scored at will. They
- 1:30:45Speaker 6: have a good offense. They're gonna go up and down
- 1:30:48Speaker 6: the field and score points. That's what they're gonna do. No, no,
- 1:30:51Speaker 6: it's not always gonna be twenty four. It's not always
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: going to be seventy. But they were a good offense
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: and the Patriots were fine. Like, I don't think any
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: different of the Patriots based on what other teams do
- 1:31:01Speaker 6: against that same team. It doesn't make sense to me.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Oh, I think it's I know, I know Patriots are
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: better than most defenses.
- 1:31:07Speaker 7: I agree that that I was too harsh on the
- 1:31:10Speaker 7: Patriots defense after seeing Miami score seventy points in the game.
- 1:31:13Speaker 6: Some of those clips of the Broncos laying on the field, yes, funny,
- 1:31:17Speaker 6: but I score seventy on the other side, I thought
- 1:31:21Speaker 6: it was photoshot exactly. I totally agree with you, Fred,
- 1:31:25Speaker 6: I thought one of the ways a joke.
- 1:31:26Speaker 7: But then you can also say, like they caught Philly
- 1:31:29Speaker 7: in Week one when they didn't have it. They didn't
- 1:31:31Speaker 7: play anybody in the preseason, and Jalen Hurts really hasn't
- 1:31:35Speaker 7: looked right in any of the games that they've played.
- 1:31:37Speaker 7: I know they've won the all three of them.
- 1:31:39Speaker 6: But they scored last night, oh like twenty yeah, without
- 1:31:43Speaker 6: without the safety and the picks. You know that he
- 1:31:45Speaker 6: sat up.
- 1:31:45Speaker 7: He doesn't look great. And you know, the point being
- 1:31:49Speaker 7: is that we can play this schedule game right right.
- 1:31:53Speaker 6: And the bottom line is, I think the Patriots defense
- 1:31:55Speaker 6: played really well against Philadelphia. I thought they played exceptionally
- 1:31:59Speaker 6: well against the Jets. I don't care that the Jets
- 1:32:02Speaker 6: won't score against anybody else. I saw the game. The
- 1:32:04Speaker 6: Patriots defense played really well. Do you know what I mean? Like,
- 1:32:07Speaker 6: if the worst defense in football shuts them out in
- 1:32:11Speaker 6: two weeks, I'm not gonna say, well, I don't think
- 1:32:13Speaker 6: as much about that. No, on Sunday, your defense needed
- 1:32:17Speaker 6: to get a stop every time it went on the field, Well,
- 1:32:19Speaker 6: you were going to lose, and they did. That's good defense,
- 1:32:22Speaker 6: do you know what I mean? Like, it doesn't matter
- 1:32:23Speaker 6: to me if they go out and score no points
- 1:32:26Speaker 6: against the Chiefs on Sunday, Like I won't say, well,
- 1:32:30Speaker 6: the Chiefs defense is better than the Patriots.
- 1:32:32Speaker 8: I mean, does it really make anyone feel better to watch?
- 1:32:35Speaker 8: Like Miami roll seventy on somebody, does that really make
- 1:32:37Speaker 8: you feel better?
- 1:32:38Speaker 6: Everything else say is it made me laugh? It was
- 1:32:40Speaker 6: fun to watch. We were watching the red zone behind
- 1:32:42Speaker 6: you right now, and it was unreal. Just every time
- 1:32:45Speaker 6: we looked up some dolphin, like I saw that some
- 1:32:48Speaker 6: guy who no one ever heard of was saying that
- 1:32:51Speaker 6: he had talked to a lot of personnel people around
- 1:32:53Speaker 6: the league, and they felt like that was disrespectful that
- 1:32:55Speaker 6: they ran it up. The last touchdown they scored was
- 1:32:59Speaker 6: a sixty eight yard run.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: I think it was disrespectful.
- 1:33:02Speaker 11: They didn't go for the record, and they took and
- 1:33:05Speaker 11: they took a knee, They took two out of the game,
- 1:33:07Speaker 11: didn't play in.
- 1:33:08Speaker 6: The fourth quarter. I don't know how that's disrespectful. They
- 1:33:10Speaker 6: did throw a long pass to Robbie Chosen.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: You know, it was disrespectful. The effort that the debt
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: for defense.
- 1:33:17Speaker 6: That was much more disrespectful than anything else. Thank you, Fred.
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: I agree, and listen, I I am not going to
- 1:33:23Speaker 6: tell you that I'm not a like in the pros
- 1:33:25Speaker 6: you shouldn't run. I've seen running it up and there's
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: times that I think it's disrespectful and you shouldn't do
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: Patriots in two thousands. That wasn't it. No, And that
- 1:33:33Speaker 6: wasn't it. That wasn't running up You don't take a knee.
- 1:33:35Speaker 6: That Bill would have kicked a field goal there, There's
- 1:33:37Speaker 6: no doubt in my mind. I would have kicked it
- 1:33:38Speaker 6: to make it seventy three.
- 1:33:39Speaker 8: Oh that McDaniel talked about that, No, no, not going
- 1:33:41Speaker 8: for the record. I mean, I respect it, but he
- 1:33:43Speaker 8: has you know, he's like look and I mean, you know,
- 1:33:45Speaker 8: not the karma, but I mean those are the things
- 1:33:48Speaker 8: going through that head coach's mind and how they are.
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: And I'm not telling you McDaniel did the right thing.
- 1:33:52Speaker 6: Maybe he should have kicked the field goal. And I
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: don't know, but I'm just telling you, if you're running
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: up the score, you're trying to score every point you can.
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: You're not taking your starter out, you're not running the
- 1:34:00Speaker 6: ball exclusively, and you're not kneeling in field goal range.
- 1:34:04Speaker 7: Yeah. I just don't know what you Like. I always
- 1:34:06Speaker 7: look at games like that. I'm like, so, like, what
- 1:34:09Speaker 7: do the Patriots do against this offense? Because now the
- 1:34:11Speaker 7: Miami Dolphins are in your division, they have a whiz
- 1:34:14Speaker 7: kid as a head coach, they have Tua playing well,
- 1:34:17Speaker 7: and they have all these the speed and all these
- 1:34:19Speaker 7: receivers atch and the running back rounds like a four
- 1:34:21Speaker 7: to three Like they're the fastest offense in the NFL,
- 1:34:24Speaker 7: no doubt about it, with a great coordinator running the
- 1:34:27Speaker 7: show in a good quarterback to distribute the ball. And
- 1:34:30Speaker 7: if they can run the ball like that against you,
- 1:34:33Speaker 7: and they can hit the deep pass like I don't
- 1:34:35Speaker 7: know what you do, Like the Patriots emptied the box
- 1:34:38Speaker 7: and they played a lot of too deep and I
- 1:34:40Speaker 7: kind of killed them for it because of all but all,
- 1:34:43Speaker 7: they're just giving up all the yards on the ground
- 1:34:45Speaker 7: and surrendering. But then he threw he runs for two
- 1:34:48Speaker 7: hundred yards, Like I just that's such a tough offensive defense.
- 1:34:52Speaker 10: Did you see that?
- 1:34:52Speaker 6: You know, the next gen stuff with the speed, Like
- 1:34:55Speaker 6: the six to six fastest ball carriers this year in
- 1:34:59Speaker 6: three weeks are all Dolphins. Yeah, it's like two for
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: Hill two for most of than two for eight chain.
- 1:35:05Speaker 6: It's why he said it's a chanch all the all.
- 1:35:09Speaker 7: Twenty two of their offense. Like they they get guys
- 1:35:12Speaker 7: so far up the field that sometimes you can't even
- 1:35:14Speaker 7: see them on the even.
- 1:35:16Speaker 6: On their shown to Ty Hill was a little like.
- 1:35:19Speaker 7: I mean, the safeties are playing like forty yards back
- 1:35:22Speaker 7: just to be deep as the deepest, and then there's
- 1:35:24Speaker 7: just all this space in the middle of the field
- 1:35:27Speaker 7: for two to throw into it. It's I don't know,
- 1:35:29Speaker 7: that's scary.
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: Uh, Cody and Indiana, do you think the handling of
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: the end of the half was a bit weird? Yes,
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: eight seconds left, still had a timeout and they run
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: a QB sneak. I guess to line up for a
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: fifty seven yard kick in the pouring rain. Why not
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: a quick pass, pick up a few more yards, call
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: the time out and give the rookie kicker a more
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: makeable kick. Fifty seven yards in a downpour is tough,
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: even if you're justin.
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: Tucker exactly what Paul was sa.
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: Agreement.
- 1:35:56Speaker 6: Now, in fairness to the coaches, they're not expecting a
- 1:36:00Speaker 6: two or three yard quarterback sneak in that situation. They're
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: expecting ten or twelve yards. They're expecting to run untouched
- 1:36:06Speaker 6: and then slide and then call time out. Yeah, now,
- 1:36:10Speaker 6: didn't get it didn't work out that way, but yeah
- 1:36:12Speaker 6: I would have. I don't like the quarterback sneak there,
- 1:36:16Speaker 6: and people that have suggested they were too conservative in
- 1:36:19Speaker 6: the game. They point to a play like that, to
- 1:36:22Speaker 6: which I would say the play before that they threw
- 1:36:23Speaker 6: a bomb that they should have gotten pass in appearance
- 1:36:25Speaker 6: called on. So I don't think they were they were conservative.
- 1:36:29Speaker 6: I just thought that was a bad play call.
- 1:36:30Speaker 7: The weird like second down sneaks that they've been doing
- 1:36:34Speaker 7: that really needs to go, Like it's second like even
- 1:36:36Speaker 7: outside of the two minute like they did it last
- 1:36:38Speaker 7: week where it was like second and one.
- 1:36:40Speaker 6: Of them on my pets, they did like three of
- 1:36:42Speaker 6: them in that gaming.
- 1:36:43Speaker 7: I don't I really don't think the first down is
- 1:36:45Speaker 7: that valuable in that spot. Obviously, first downs are valuable
- 1:36:48Speaker 7: in general, but like, like in that spot, like I
- 1:36:51Speaker 7: just don't really see how is that deconerated.
- 1:36:54Speaker 8: Second and shortest, Like it's a cliche at this point.
- 1:36:57Speaker 6: Well, here's a chance to take a shot. I mean,
- 1:36:58Speaker 6: everybody knows they have this first.
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: Down play that sets up second and one. It just wasted.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: It just you have your whole playbook open to you.
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: Take advantage of that. You know, if you want to
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: sneak on third down, if you have any completely go ahead.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: Oh it just bothers me. Micah in South Dakota Parsons.
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: I think considering the conditions and how that game turned out,
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: I feel better about the offense. It looked like a
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: monsoon on TV and that effected the passing game for
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: both teams. I felt that when we ran power runs,
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: especially the Trent Brown side, the offense looked good. Putting
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: in some play action for Mac was good. I see
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: the offense expanding and this week against Dallas will be
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: a true test. Also Denver getting the breaks beat off
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: of them could be good for New England. Let's trade
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: for Jerry Judy and get this offense a true weapon.
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: If that's what happens, this offense will become a force.
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: How do you guys feel about the possibility of getting
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: Jerry Judy?
- 1:37:54Speaker 7: Well, I do if you want to. The first part
- 1:37:57Speaker 7: of that email is exactly what I wrote, and after
- 1:37:59Speaker 7: further and like, if you want to have that optimistic view,
- 1:38:03Speaker 7: there's evidence to have that optimistic view. I'm not going
- 1:38:05Speaker 7: to sit here and tell you that, Like, don't as
- 1:38:07Speaker 7: a fan, like don't be optimistic about your football team
- 1:38:10Speaker 7: because there are things that they are doing better. There
- 1:38:12Speaker 7: are things that there are like you know, moments where
- 1:38:15Speaker 7: you say, oh if this in week fourteen, like this
- 1:38:18Speaker 7: might hit where it's not in week three because they're
- 1:38:20Speaker 7: still trying to figure things out. It's possible, Like it's
- 1:38:24Speaker 7: possible that that could all happen. Do I believe it will?
- 1:38:27Speaker 7: I mean that I don't know. I haven't seen it
- 1:38:30Speaker 7: for three years, so it's kind of hard to say.
- 1:38:31Speaker 7: I believe it will, but like it might.
- 1:38:33Speaker 8: Do you think at the end of the season that
- 1:38:35Speaker 8: we're going to stack up twenty twenty two and twenty
- 1:38:37Speaker 8: twenty three and say the offense was unequivocally better this
- 1:38:41Speaker 8: year than it was across the board? Or do you
- 1:38:43Speaker 8: think that it's going to be very close between what
- 1:38:45Speaker 8: this offense isn't.
- 1:38:46Speaker 6: I think it's going to be better. I don't know
- 1:38:47Speaker 6: about unequivocally, but I think you'll look back and you'll
- 1:38:49Speaker 6: say it's better. And it won't just be because I
- 1:38:52Speaker 6: said so because of a progression. Is I think they will?
- 1:38:54Speaker 6: I think they will get better, But now I do
- 1:38:58Speaker 6: because the email touched on something that I've seen, a
- 1:39:00Speaker 6: prevailing thought about the weather and you know, wait till
- 1:39:03Speaker 6: this week. How'd you feel about the Patriots defense on Sunday? Great?
- 1:39:08Speaker 6: Did you guys play? Did they play pretty well on defense. Sunday,
- 1:39:11Speaker 6: there's nothing you know, you don't don't give the Jets
- 1:39:13Speaker 6: a pass because it was bad weather. Ea, if it
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: wasn't rain exactly, I mean, if it wasn't raining, Like
- 1:39:19Speaker 6: look at all the plays they missed because like they
- 1:39:21Speaker 6: couldn't try deep balls because it was pouring out. Like
- 1:39:24Speaker 6: I would never suggest that. I think the Patriots dominated
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: the bag out of the Jets offense. I mean, I
- 1:39:29Speaker 6: don't think the weather had anything to do with how
- 1:39:31Speaker 6: good the Patriots defense play.
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: Two really good runners and the Patriots handled them.
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: Yeah, right, just like they handled you because they have
- 1:39:38Speaker 6: a good defense. The weather wasn't the reason why the
- 1:39:41Speaker 6: Patriots didn't score.
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: The Jets defense was Christopher the tia n just to
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: win against the Jets, nothing more. Through three weeks, I
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: actually feel pretty good about the defense, especially after Miami
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: hung seventy on Denver and Philly.
- 1:39:53Speaker 6: You should feel good about that.
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: And almost for you and almost five hundred yards of
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: offense against the Bucks. However, the offense continues to scare
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: the hell out of me. Two guys, in particular, Juju,
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: who we all were told was an upgrade, is out
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: there running around on one leg looking lost. Then there's Mandre.
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: What's up with this guy? He just looks off injured.
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: How does Zeke get more yards against the Jet Steve
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: than him?
- 1:40:16Speaker 6: All Right, I don't know those are those are the
- 1:40:20Speaker 6: big questions. I think you know that I don't know
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: the answer to the Stevenson one. Those two guys.
- 1:40:24Speaker 8: I mean, who are the guys you know if it
- 1:40:25Speaker 8: does if it does progress, like you know, the optimistic
- 1:40:28Speaker 8: point of view, you know, who are the guys that
- 1:40:30Speaker 8: lead the way?
- 1:40:30Speaker 10: Is it? You know?
- 1:40:31Speaker 8: This is another question that's kicking around my brain. It's like,
- 1:40:33Speaker 8: what is Juju gonna look like at the end of
- 1:40:34Speaker 8: the season. Are we going to be saying like, Wow,
- 1:40:36Speaker 8: he found it or he's gonna get cut this offseason.
- 1:40:39Speaker 6: My guess is you're gonna see him get phased out
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: in the middle of the year. As to Mario, Douglas
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: gets a bigger role. But that mean that might be
- 1:40:45Speaker 6: wishful thinking.
- 1:40:47Speaker 7: That's where I'm out. Yeah, I think there are obviously
- 1:40:52Speaker 7: every single game with to Mario, there are a million
- 1:40:55Speaker 7: things that he does wrong. Like I'm just gonna be
- 1:40:57Speaker 7: honest about that. But I think at this point they
- 1:41:00Speaker 7: have to live with the growing pains with a young player,
- 1:41:02Speaker 7: because he's.
- 1:41:03Speaker 6: The best you got.
- 1:41:04Speaker 7: He's the most explosive, explosive weapon that you have. I
- 1:41:07Speaker 7: think him born and Kasiki Gasiki runs good routes, and
- 1:41:12Speaker 7: I think that in the passing game they need to
- 1:41:13Speaker 7: target him a little bit.
- 1:41:14Speaker 6: But I think he's like, yeah, I was gonna ask
- 1:41:16Speaker 6: you that, because he's been really a non factor. Yeah,
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: it makes like one catch a game and there, yeah,
- 1:41:21Speaker 6: there he is again.
- 1:41:23Speaker 7: He runs some really dynamic routes, like you know, wide
- 1:41:25Speaker 7: receiver level routes, but he does it at like six six,
- 1:41:28Speaker 7: you know whatever, two forty five or whatever he is.
- 1:41:31Speaker 7: I would definitely feed him, and I'm not gonna do
- 1:41:34Speaker 7: it again to myself, but I'll say it like Taekwon
- 1:41:38Speaker 7: in Taekwon, Like even just having somebody that stretches the
- 1:41:44Speaker 7: field vertically as a as a decoy, I think will
- 1:41:48Speaker 7: help the underneath stuff a little bit. And if he
- 1:41:51Speaker 7: can get by the defense, you know, once a game,
- 1:41:54Speaker 7: then obviously all the better. But like, I'm not expecting
- 1:41:56Speaker 7: Taekwon to be any sort of high volume receiver, but
- 1:42:00Speaker 7: if they can at least get him to hold the
- 1:42:02Speaker 7: safeties off for an extra split second or something like that.
- 1:42:05Speaker 7: Then maybe some of these throws that they are hitting
- 1:42:08Speaker 7: at the intermediate level can have some yak because it's
- 1:42:10Speaker 7: not like the they're completing the pass and then there's
- 1:42:13Speaker 7: like three guys converging on Hunter Henry. So I'm not
- 1:42:17Speaker 7: ready to like put it all on Taekwon and believe
- 1:42:20Speaker 7: in Taekwon again because it will burn me, I guarantee it.
- 1:42:23Speaker 7: But like even if he's just out there running wind sprints, like,
- 1:42:26Speaker 7: I think it's better than what they have right now.
- 1:42:27Speaker 6: Thornton, here's a who grab grab h Judy And I
- 1:42:33Speaker 6: think right now, like the most reliable thing that you
- 1:42:37Speaker 6: can count on the passing game was Hunter Henry, and
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: that can't be the most dynamic thing you have on offense,
- 1:42:41Speaker 6: Like you have to if it's not going to be
- 1:42:43Speaker 6: somebody else, you know, if it's not going to be
- 1:42:45Speaker 6: Thornton when he comes back, what does it look like?
- 1:42:48Speaker 8: You got to go out and get some with Thornton,
- 1:42:50Speaker 8: Born and Douglas. You know, what does that look like?
- 1:42:52Speaker 7: One of their fastest groups that running him, you know, Thornton, Boorn,
- 1:42:57Speaker 7: Douglas KASICKI.
- 1:43:00Speaker 6: Can snock keep Paul daymon, Please, what does that look
- 1:43:04Speaker 6: like Born and Douglas running into each other and Thornton
- 1:43:07Speaker 6: getting hurt.
- 1:43:09Speaker 10: Damn it.
- 1:43:11Speaker 6: At least you have some people that are fast, like
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: at least speed I have. I just think it's probably
- 1:43:18Speaker 6: the three least reliable things they have as well.
- 1:43:21Speaker 7: It's in the past, and that's how they're gonna look
- 1:43:23Speaker 7: at it, and that's why DeVante, Parker, and ju are
- 1:43:25Speaker 7: going to be.
- 1:43:26Speaker 6: That's why they use Parker and Henry because those guys
- 1:43:29Speaker 6: they know where they're gonna be. Now, I'm not telling
- 1:43:31Speaker 6: you that you're gonna win anything with that, because you're
- 1:43:33Speaker 6: probably not.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: Raj and Saint Louis.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: The win on Sunday was what it was, but I
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: did enjoy how Pepper's bounced back after rough game on
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: Sunday night, so shout out to him. My main question
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: is is the quality of football just flat out bad
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: this year? Or am I just overly critical of each team?
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: I try to watch at least some of each team
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: every week, but outside of Miami and San Francisco, I
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: don't feel overly impressed with any team, and the play
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: seems more messy than previous years. Is it lack of
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: practice time, a talent rout, bad coaches, or some other factor.
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: I remember Eate been saying something similar about a year ago.
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: So maybe that's clouding my judge.
- 1:44:10Speaker 11: I think we do it every year, yea, yeah, And
- 1:44:11Speaker 11: I feel like there's a lot of injuries right now,
- 1:44:13Speaker 11: Like I mean, I don't know what's going with Burrow
- 1:44:15Speaker 11: and his calf. The Ravens are battling a whole bunch
- 1:44:18Speaker 11: of things over there. It's like, obviously Digs is out
- 1:44:20Speaker 11: this week. Who knows what's happening with you know, Saints
- 1:44:24Speaker 11: quarterback right now, we might see Jameis Winston.
- 1:44:26Speaker 7: Just a lot of talk about malpractice running Joe Burrow.
- 1:44:31Speaker 7: You're two hundred and seventy five million dollar man out there.
- 1:44:34Speaker 6: On one calf on a bad leg.
- 1:44:37Speaker 7: In Week three.
- 1:44:38Speaker 6: They got away with a season because he didn't really
- 1:44:40Speaker 6: look like he was under much pressure in the game,
- 1:44:43Speaker 6: didn't have to move too much.
- 1:44:44Speaker 7: If I was a Bengals fan, I'd be going nuts
- 1:44:47Speaker 7: set there putting him out there.
- 1:44:48Speaker 6: If the game's over, I mean, the season's over. If
- 1:44:50Speaker 6: you lose that game. Now you can't follow over three.
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: Tough decision phones are lighting up.
- 1:44:55Speaker 6: That's tough.
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: I don't know if it's something we said CJ in
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: case on the line with.
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: Up, Hey, what's up, guys?
- 1:45:02Speaker 25: I wanted to last last week, I called in and
- 1:45:06Speaker 25: I was like, is there anything that we can learn
- 1:45:08Speaker 25: from this game? And you guys kind of talked you
- 1:45:09Speaker 25: through how, yeah, they play well and things like that.
- 1:45:12Speaker 25: But I feel like we didn't learn anything from this
- 1:45:15Speaker 25: past game. And I know that Tuesdays usually a reflection
- 1:45:19Speaker 25: to what the past week's game.
- 1:45:21Speaker 14: Is, but I just want to focus on Dallas.
- 1:45:24Speaker 25: Is there is there anything that you guys think that
- 1:45:26Speaker 25: you know, we can take away and feel confident with
- 1:45:30Speaker 25: going into this week's game in Dallas and see if
- 1:45:33Speaker 25: is there anything that momentum wise that you guys see
- 1:45:37Speaker 25: that we can bring into this weekend.
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: Well, I mean a lot.
- 1:45:41Speaker 2: I've heard a lot of people say it's a bad
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: spot for the Patriots because Dallas had a bad loss
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: and now they're going to be refocused.
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: That maybe it's a great spot.
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: I think it's a good spot for the Patriots.
- 1:45:52Speaker 6: Not good great. I think they're going to have a
- 1:45:54Speaker 6: hard time winning the game. I'm like, I'm not trying
- 1:45:56Speaker 6: to tell you the Patriots should win it, but I
- 1:45:58Speaker 6: think this is Dallas's m O. They're always super hyped.
- 1:46:03Speaker 6: They lose games they shouldn't lose, and when they do,
- 1:46:06Speaker 6: the wheels come off. They also play San Francisco in
- 1:46:09Speaker 6: Week five, which they think they're better than the Patriots.
- 1:46:13Speaker 6: So I wouldn't a trap game. I wouldn't dismiss those guys.
- 1:46:19Speaker 6: Just say that wasn't us last week. We got San
- 1:46:22Speaker 6: Francisco next week, we got to get ready. Like, I
- 1:46:24Speaker 6: think it's a really good spot. But to be positive
- 1:46:27Speaker 6: about they've played three games and the Dallas offense has
- 1:46:30Speaker 6: really done very little. In the three games. They've been
- 1:46:33Speaker 6: very average offensively. Defensively is a different story, but offensively,
- 1:46:37Speaker 6: I don't think they look like they're all that high power.
- 1:46:39Speaker 7: They're running a high school offense. It is like, we'll
- 1:46:42Speaker 7: get more into this. I thought i'd put that on
- 1:46:44Speaker 7: the tape for you, Oh God, because I love Dak
- 1:46:47Speaker 7: like I really, I really love Dak and watching him
- 1:46:50Speaker 7: get neutered by Mike McCarthy is killing me.
- 1:46:53Speaker 6: Like it's killing me. Can you imagine a guy intentionally
- 1:46:55Speaker 6: in this day and age, I want to get back
- 1:46:57Speaker 6: to the run.
- 1:46:58Speaker 7: So he is running high school offense. They are no
- 1:47:02Speaker 7: team in the league runs more under center than Dallas.
- 1:47:05Speaker 7: And I say the patriotsold run under center because they
- 1:47:07Speaker 7: don't have Dak Prescott as their quarterback, right, so they
- 1:47:10Speaker 7: nobody runs more under center plays than Dallas. They run
- 1:47:13Speaker 7: everything out of heavy formations. They run two man routes
- 1:47:16Speaker 7: off of play action. It makes me it's like Bailey's
- 1:47:18Speaker 7: appy last year. And then when they go to the
- 1:47:20Speaker 7: shotgun they run quick game like half of his throwers
- 1:47:22Speaker 7: are on like slants or curls or flat routes. It's
- 1:47:25Speaker 7: like you have Ceedee Lamb, you have Dak Prescott and
- 1:47:29Speaker 7: you're gonna throw five hundred slants a game. Like, I
- 1:47:32Speaker 7: just I can't.
- 1:47:33Speaker 6: I really don't fear this Cowboys offense all that much.
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: I mean, based on the three games that I've watched,
- 1:47:39Speaker 6: there's no reason to feel. Yeah, they haven't looked good
- 1:47:41Speaker 6: offensively in any of the three games.
- 1:47:43Speaker 7: The Cardinals played a ton of base defense. They played
- 1:47:45Speaker 7: like thirty something snaps in base defense, and they still
- 1:47:49Speaker 7: ran on them. Dallas as a good run game, but
- 1:47:51Speaker 7: they that's their offense, Like they want to run the ball,
- 1:47:53Speaker 7: and they do have a good run game, but if
- 1:47:55Speaker 7: you can stop the run, and they just don't really
- 1:47:59Speaker 7: have a dynamics game.
- 1:48:00Speaker 6: In the last two weeks, they lived in the red
- 1:48:02Speaker 6: zone and couldn't score touchdowns. So you have a really
- 1:48:04Speaker 6: good running team, they can't score touchdowns in the red zone.
- 1:48:07Speaker 7: Sounds familiar.
- 1:48:07Speaker 8: Yeah, I would like to know on the defensive side
- 1:48:10Speaker 8: of all, what they're thinking about with Parsons watching the
- 1:48:12Speaker 8: Patriots offensive line struggles and you know where they're going
- 1:48:15Speaker 8: to move him, where they're gonna put him, how they're
- 1:48:16Speaker 8: gonna split those matchups.
- 1:48:17Speaker 6: That's not that's not the part of the game plan
- 1:48:19Speaker 6: that I was going optimistic.
- 1:48:21Speaker 7: That's the scary Well do you think you can get
- 1:48:23Speaker 7: the you know, Parsons Now, maybe he re recalculate, recalculates
- 1:48:29Speaker 7: after that game against Arizona, But Arizona got him cheating
- 1:48:33Speaker 7: up the field a hull a ton, Like they ran
- 1:48:36Speaker 7: at Micah Parsons in that game and they just invited
- 1:48:39Speaker 7: him up the field and he just blew right past
- 1:48:41Speaker 7: the ball every single time. So if you can use
- 1:48:44Speaker 7: his aggressiveness against him, I mean it's dangerous, right because
- 1:48:47Speaker 7: if if you don't catch him, then he's gonna blow
- 1:48:50Speaker 7: the play up in the.
- 1:48:51Speaker 8: Back, Like how does he do that?
- 1:48:54Speaker 7: But but if you can, uh, you know they are.
- 1:48:58Speaker 7: They are a team that likes to get vertical on
- 1:49:00Speaker 7: the defensive line. They want to get up the field,
- 1:49:02Speaker 7: and if you can kind of catch them with the
- 1:49:04Speaker 7: misdirection and invite that, then you can have some opportunities there.
- 1:49:08Speaker 6: So shut down the run against CJ and then you know,
- 1:49:10Speaker 6: I think you're in another defensive battle.
- 1:49:12Speaker 25: I agree, Yep, that's kind of what I was thinking.
- 1:49:14Speaker 25: Thanks guys, all.
- 1:49:15Speaker 10: Right, thanks c J.
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: Uh, let's go to London. Henry's there, Hello, Henry.
- 1:49:21Speaker 26: I'm not saying London, Frederick.
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: I'm in Lea, Leeds.
- 1:49:25Speaker 26: Just just this, sorry, just to chime in. Cheshire is
- 1:49:28Speaker 26: definitely post That was a little bit on the postgame show.
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: Brilliant.
- 1:49:32Speaker 26: My question though, I was just hoping someone could explain
- 1:49:35Speaker 26: the difference to me between White and Dietrich Wise. To me,
- 1:49:39Speaker 26: this same similar players, but got a lot more upside
- 1:49:44Speaker 26: and just from the eye test, I can't tell you
- 1:49:46Speaker 26: the numbers what you just like more of the staff.
- 1:49:49Speaker 6: I think they're very I think they are very similar players.
- 1:49:52Speaker 6: I think White looks a little more athletic to me
- 1:49:54Speaker 6: than Wise, but I think.
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: They're well longer, longer. Yeah, but I think he's a
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: whole more powerful.
- 1:50:02Speaker 6: And Wise has definitely played more You're right, You're right, Henry.
- 1:50:06Speaker 7: I would say Whise Wise is like, you know, play
- 1:50:10Speaker 7: strength in the way that they want play strength in
- 1:50:13Speaker 7: terms of being stout against the run versus pushing the pocket.
- 1:50:16Speaker 7: I think Dietrich is a much more kind of stable
- 1:50:20Speaker 7: player in that sense, and he's really really improved a
- 1:50:22Speaker 7: ton and run defense from There was.
- 1:50:24Speaker 6: A very underrated play in the game late where third
- 1:50:28Speaker 6: and ten Wilson scrambled for a first down and Wise
- 1:50:32Speaker 6: just absolutely bull rushed the guard and ended up getting
- 1:50:37Speaker 6: a holding call when I think he got caught up
- 1:50:40Speaker 6: in the guy's legs.
- 1:50:40Speaker 7: Yeah, kind of like he grabbed, closed his legs on
- 1:50:43Speaker 7: him and would Yeah. But his uh, Dietrich Wise has
- 1:50:48Speaker 7: become a really solid two gapping end, And I just
- 1:50:51Speaker 7: don't really think that they look at Kean White as
- 1:50:54Speaker 7: like a true edge guy, right, whereas Dietrich is more
- 1:50:57Speaker 7: of like that three four end.
- 1:50:58Speaker 6: But I think we will see more of White, yeah,
- 1:51:00Speaker 6: with a quality to that. But I think you just
- 1:51:02Speaker 6: made a good point there, Evan Is.
- 1:51:04Speaker 8: I think I was kind of thinking that White would
- 1:51:05Speaker 8: be more of a handdown more likewise, But I think
- 1:51:08Speaker 8: he's more than that. He's, like you said, he's they've
- 1:51:09Speaker 8: been standing up a little bit more. I mean, I
- 1:51:11Speaker 8: think he's do both kind of a guy, and that's
- 1:51:14Speaker 8: why he's.
- 1:51:14Speaker 7: Intrigued Kean White playing with his hand in the dirt
- 1:51:19Speaker 7: on like third down. Yeah, like gem in.
- 1:51:22Speaker 8: The lays out, you know, like let's play with him
- 1:51:24Speaker 8: a little bit, maybe shuffle some things around a little bit.
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: Danny's in Daytona. What's up, Danny?
- 1:51:30Speaker 10: And go on, guys.
- 1:51:33Speaker 23: I just have a couple of things to say. Primarily,
- 1:51:36Speaker 23: the first thing I'm going to go with is, uh,
- 1:51:39Speaker 23: what you guys talked about earlier, is trading for for
- 1:51:43Speaker 23: Keenan Allen, the receiver from the Chargers. You report that
- 1:51:46Speaker 23: I'm talking about that that's not happen just because the
- 1:51:51Speaker 23: Patriots are so desperate right now.
- 1:51:54Speaker 6: How we're you know, just the offense overall was like
- 1:51:58Speaker 6: the Chargers offense, they're not trading him.
- 1:52:01Speaker 11: They was.
- 1:52:02Speaker 23: There was a report that was pushed out that Mike
- 1:52:04Speaker 23: Williams heard.
- 1:52:05Speaker 6: Now yeah, right, yeah, that's that lessens the chances of
- 1:52:07Speaker 6: trading k.
- 1:52:09Speaker 7: I would see that great career for Keenan Allen, but I.
- 1:52:13Speaker 6: I eighteen fifteen does nothing for you. I just moving
- 1:52:16Speaker 6: a little bit.
- 1:52:17Speaker 7: In the wrong direction and in the age and the
- 1:52:19Speaker 7: wear and tear.
- 1:52:20Speaker 6: That's right right in Bill's wheelhouse.
- 1:52:21Speaker 8: He was my Aaron Dobson wish what could a guy
- 1:52:26Speaker 8: so that?
- 1:52:26Speaker 23: And then back to the offensive line. I I like
- 1:52:29Speaker 23: what they did finally putting Ley at right jack, because
- 1:52:34Speaker 23: last week that was horrendous watching Calvin Anderson. I mean
- 1:52:38Speaker 23: the first week I was I was shocked that they
- 1:52:40Speaker 23: would even put him out there to start against Eagles.
- 1:52:44Speaker 23: Then the second week, Calvin Anderson just looked absolutely just terrible.
- 1:52:48Speaker 23: I was just wondering, what are the Patriots, like, what
- 1:52:50Speaker 23: did Adrian Clem and Bill O'Brien doing out there? And
- 1:52:53Speaker 23: then they made that change up and Trent Brown comes back.
- 1:52:57Speaker 23: I don't really like Cole Strands that left guard.
- 1:52:59Speaker 14: I I just I'm I want to say.
- 1:53:02Speaker 23: I don't know who said earlier, someone said Mafi didn't
- 1:53:04Speaker 23: look good, but I think personally Mafi does. Mafi does
- 1:53:07Speaker 23: look a little bit better than Strande, at least playing
- 1:53:09Speaker 23: left guard. But I do think they need to get
- 1:53:11Speaker 23: somebody like they had with Joe Suni back in there,
- 1:53:15Speaker 23: so next.
- 1:53:15Speaker 24: Year they have to.
- 1:53:16Speaker 23: They have to have to go out and get tackles.
- 1:53:19Speaker 23: They got guards, We're good on guards. I think they
- 1:53:21Speaker 23: need to just focus.
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: On You just said that you don't like the line.
- 1:53:26Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, logically playing musical chairs at guard, but
- 1:53:30Speaker 6: we're all said at guard.
- 1:53:32Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:53:32Speaker 7: I guess maybe I've been like, you know, harsh on
- 1:53:35Speaker 7: Antonio Maffiy, probably because he's a rookie. People you know,
- 1:53:37Speaker 7: grade him on a different scale in their brains. But
- 1:53:40Speaker 7: I haven't really seen it as much as everybody else
- 1:53:43Speaker 7: has with him. But I'm not saying, you know, that
- 1:53:46Speaker 7: doesn't have an NFL future or anything like that, but
- 1:53:48Speaker 7: just in terms of being like this immediate upgrade over
- 1:53:50Speaker 7: Cold Strange, I don't know if I necessarily see that.
- 1:53:53Speaker 8: I don't know if I necessarily do, but I will
- 1:53:55Speaker 8: just say, you know, watching them, you know, as they
- 1:53:58Speaker 8: played both in the game, it's just it's hard to
- 1:53:59Speaker 8: see Cole Strange where he just looks small and he
- 1:54:02Speaker 8: gets pushed around, and you know, Mafi can't really move
- 1:54:04Speaker 8: all that well. But at least he's got size and
- 1:54:07Speaker 8: and and he's got like a fackness.
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: He definitely looks the part. But I don't watch enough
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: to tell you just.
- 1:54:12Speaker 7: He his he can't move side to side, so like
- 1:54:16Speaker 7: he when when guys cross his face, or you know,
- 1:54:19Speaker 7: he gets into that one on one pass rush where
- 1:54:21Speaker 7: he's dancing with the pass rusher like his edges. Yeah,
- 1:54:25Speaker 7: and and that that's that's tough.
- 1:54:27Speaker 8: I just feel like, though, you know, some of that
- 1:54:29Speaker 8: I think can be taught. I mean, certainly some movement
- 1:54:31Speaker 8: skills cannot be taught. But it's like you know, with
- 1:54:33Speaker 8: Coal Strange, it's it's it's just he doesn't look like
- 1:54:36Speaker 8: he can handle these power rushers, and it just seems
- 1:54:38Speaker 8: so obvious. And at what point is his technique going
- 1:54:41Speaker 8: to catch up where it's like he's so flawless on
- 1:54:43Speaker 8: his technique that he's able to defeat these bigger guys.
- 1:54:46Speaker 8: And that's what I've been kind of waiting to happen.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: But it's just not.
- 1:54:48Speaker 6: He's getting bull rushed every time.
- 1:54:50Speaker 7: They took Tony three years to develop an anchor right
- 1:54:55Speaker 7: and be able to drop anchor because Tuny had a
- 1:54:56Speaker 7: lot of issues early on with power as well, because
- 1:54:59Speaker 7: he played tackle in college and then moved inside and
- 1:55:02Speaker 7: he was a slimmer tackle and more athletic guy, and
- 1:55:05Speaker 7: he had issues same as Cole Strange, and it took
- 1:55:08Speaker 7: till year three really for him to to figure it out.
- 1:55:11Speaker 7: From that perspective, so maybe there's still time for cold Strange.
- 1:55:14Speaker 7: But that matchup against Quentin Williams is brutal, and I.
- 1:55:17Speaker 6: To wonder how healthy he is.
- 1:55:19Speaker 8: Yeah, I know, in that fairness, And that's what I
- 1:55:21Speaker 8: was just going to say too, is that I think
- 1:55:22Speaker 8: with all the offensive line, like Calvin Anderson, you want
- 1:55:25Speaker 8: to kill him, Like we don't even know what he
- 1:55:26Speaker 8: was sick with, Like you know, he missed all of camp,
- 1:55:29Speaker 8: so yeah, you know, I like, look, the season has started,
- 1:55:32Speaker 8: they need to play well. Excuses are done. But I
- 1:55:35Speaker 8: do think week three you're still kind of acknowledging guys
- 1:55:37Speaker 8: who didn't practice.
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: That's him rights in our friend from Duncan. First things first,
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: it was a good win. Any divisional win on the
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: road is a good win. As I hear you talk
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: about Zach Wilson, I keep thinking that he is at
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: his worst against the Patriots. Do you think he will
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: be that bad for the rest of the year.
- 1:55:52Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't think he was that bad. He was
- 1:55:54Speaker 6: that bad in the previous two games.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: Now, he is not a great quarterback, but I do
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: think that he struggles Morgan the Patriots and against other teams,
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: they were able to beat the Bills with him at quarterback.
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: I know Josh Allen turned the ball over several times,
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: but they still want.
- 1:56:08Speaker 6: But not because of him, because of a punt return.
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: By the way, my Patriots unfiltered T shirt came in
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: thank you. I wear it proudly and happily explained the
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: show to the few people who don't already know about it.
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: That's right, very few people.
- 1:56:22Speaker 6: Yeah, Zach Wilson is a disaster everybody.
- 1:56:25Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, I would say, though, I think the
- 1:56:27Speaker 8: Patriots specifically a team that's willing to spin the dial
- 1:56:29Speaker 8: post snap and really and really amp up the confusion.
- 1:56:32Speaker 6: I think that probably doesn't. I'm not telling you they
- 1:56:34Speaker 6: don't confuse him more than other teams do. I'm telling
- 1:56:36Speaker 6: you every other team has the same success rate against
- 1:56:39Speaker 6: him like they do not. Even the games that he
- 1:56:43Speaker 6: has won, they don't score in like Monday night against Buffalo,
- 1:56:48Speaker 6: he didn't score any point. He had one touchdown drive
- 1:56:50Speaker 6: just like against you and the touchdown of that night,
- 1:56:53Speaker 6: my God, was an incredible catch by Garrett Wilson terrible throw,
- 1:56:58Speaker 6: like he can't play.
- 1:57:00Speaker 4: I think that was definitely Josh Allen Gift.
- 1:57:02Speaker 6: By the way, that's my second check. Remember I told
- 1:57:04Speaker 6: you they ruined another one. Those are the two things
- 1:57:07Speaker 6: I predicted in the post game show. The Denver given
- 1:57:10Speaker 6: up seventy and the Patriots ruined another quarterback in franchise.
- 1:57:14Speaker 7: Would be nice if you know the Patriots had a
- 1:57:17Speaker 7: player that can make that Garret Wilson catch.
- 1:57:20Speaker 8: Wow, he spins it like in a different place, dark
- 1:57:23Speaker 8: place Evan on Tuesdays is it's dark dark.
- 1:57:26Speaker 4: Because he said he was going to do better today.
- 1:57:29Speaker 6: I did say I was gonna be more positive.
- 1:57:31Speaker 7: Didn't work.
- 1:57:33Speaker 6: I actually get that.
- 1:57:33Speaker 8: I need, like emo Evan to come in on some
- 1:57:35Speaker 8: dressed Sorry, I'm.
- 1:57:37Speaker 6: Not down on the wind, I'm not like.
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: I think what triggered him is when I said that
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: they passed blocked pretty well.
- 1:57:43Speaker 10: I did that.
- 1:57:44Speaker 6: I didn't kind of wrong trigger, you know, but for
- 1:57:48Speaker 6: doing a little A pressures that's a lot today was that.
- 1:57:51Speaker 4: We spent the first twenty minutes not talking about football.
- 1:57:53Speaker 7: Yes, that trigger.
- 1:57:56Speaker 6: I was trying to buffer it for him.
- 1:57:57Speaker 7: I was ready too early, but I was ready.
- 1:58:00Speaker 6: I was ready to be ready to everybody.
- 1:58:02Speaker 7: I was ready to have a better Tuesday that I
- 1:58:04Speaker 7: just you know, looked in the mirror and said I
- 1:58:06Speaker 7: didn't like it.
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: And if I was close to you, I'd give you
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: one Harmella nuttat.
- 1:58:11Speaker 7: Oh wow, all right, really mad about the past.
