• 1:51
  We
• 1:51
  are

• 1:54
  That's

  what

  the

• 2:03
  Even
• 2:04
  though
• 2:04
  they
• 2:04
  watched
• 2:04
  me
• 2:05
  at
• 2:05
  work
• 2:05
  for
• 2:05
  40
• 2:05
  years,
• 2:06
  your
• 2:07
  ancestors
• 2:07
  refused
• 2:08
  to
• 2:08
  let
• 2:08
  me
• 2:08
  do
• 2:08
  it
• 2:08
  my
• 2:09
  way.
• 2:09
  Over
• 2:10
  and
• 2:10
  over
• 2:10
  again.
• 2:10
  They
• 2:10
  tried
• 2:11
  my
• 2:11
  patience
• 2:12
  and
• 2:12
  I
• 2:12
  was
• 2:13
  provoked.
• 2:13
  Oh,
• 2:13
  so
• 2:14
  provoked.
• 2:14
  I
• 2:14
  said,
• 2:15
  they'll
• 2:16
  never
• 2:16
  keep
• 2:16
  their
• 2:16
  minds
• 2:17
  on
• 2:17
  God.
• 2:18
  They
• 2:18
  refused
• 2:18
  to
• 2:18
  walk
• 2:18
  down
• 2:19
  my
• 2:19
  road.
• 2:20
  Exasperated,
• 2:21
  I
• 2:21
  vowed,
• 2:22
  they'll
• 2:23
  never
• 2:23
  get
• 2:23
  where
• 2:23
  they're
• 2:23
  going.
• 2:24
  They'll
• 2:25
  never
• 2:25
  be
• 2:25
  able
• 2:25
  to
• 2:25
  sit
• 2:26
  down
• 2:26
  and
• 2:27
  rest.
• 2:29
  Well,
• 2:29
  my
• 2:29
  friends,
• 2:30
  thank
• 2:30
  you
• 2:30
  for
• 2:30
  joining
• 2:31
  me
• 2:31
  here
• 2:32
  today.
• 2:33
  Glad
• 2:33
  you're
• 2:34
  here.
• 2:34
  In
• 2:34
  Hebrews
• 2:35
  Chapter
• 2:35
  three
• 2:35
  today,
• 2:36
  there's
• 2:37
  a
• 2:37
  line
• 2:37
  in
• 2:37
  this
• 2:37
  passage
• 2:38
  that
• 2:38
  honestly
• 2:39
  kind
• 2:39
  of
• 2:39
  really
• 2:40
  stopped
• 2:40
  me
• 2:40
  in
• 2:40
  my
• 2:40
  tracks
• 2:41
  this
• 2:41
  week.
• 2:41
  And
• 2:41
  we'll
• 2:42
  get
• 2:42
  there.
• 2:42
  But
• 2:42
  I.
• 2:43
  But
• 2:43
  I
• 2:43
  just
• 2:44
  want
• 2:44
  to
• 2:44
  make
• 2:45
  you
• 2:45
  aware
• 2:46
  that
• 2:46
  this
• 2:46
  is
• 2:46
  what
• 2:47
  it's
• 2:47
  all
• 2:47
  about
• 2:48
  here,
• 2:48
  that
• 2:48
  we
• 2:48
  have
• 2:50
  this
• 2:51
  house
• 2:51
  analogy.
• 2:53
  So
• 2:53
  let's
• 2:53
  Talk
• 2:54
  about
• 2:54
  some
• 2:54
  points
• 2:54
  to
• 2:55
  ponder.
• 2:56
  The
• 2:56
  first
• 2:56
  point
• 2:56
  to
• 2:56
  ponder
• 2:57
  is
• 2:57
  this,
• 2:58
  that
• 2:59
  we
• 2:59
  are
• 2:59
  the
• 2:59
  house.
• 3:00
  Not
• 3:00
  visitors,
• 3:02
  not
• 3:02
  tenants,
• 3:03
  not
• 3:04
  guests
• 3:04
  waiting
• 3:04
  for
• 3:05
  permission
• 3:05
  to
• 3:05
  belong.
• 3:06
  The
• 3:07
  writer
• 3:07
  here
• 3:07
  doesn't
• 3:08
  say
• 3:08
  the
• 3:08
  house
• 3:08
  is
• 3:09
  a
• 3:09
  building
• 3:09
  in
• 3:09
  Jerusalem.
• 3:11
  It
• 3:11
  doesn't
• 3:11
  say
• 3:11
  it's
• 3:12
  a
• 3:12
  denomination
• 3:13
  or
• 3:13
  institution
• 3:14
  or
• 3:15
  a
• 3:15
  particular
• 3:15
  worship
• 3:16
  style.
• 3:17
  The
• 3:17
  house
• 3:17
  is
• 3:18
  us,
• 3:19
  but
• 3:19
  only
• 3:19
  if
• 3:19
  we
• 3:20
  keep
• 3:20
  a
• 3:20
  firm
• 3:20
  grip
• 3:21
  and
• 3:21
  bold
• 3:22
  confidence.
• 3:22
  And
• 3:22
  I
• 3:23
  really
• 3:23
  love
• 3:23
  that
• 3:23
  phrase,
• 3:25
  bold
• 3:25
  confidence.
• 3:27
  Not
• 3:27
  perfect
• 3:28
  theology,
• 3:28
  not
• 3:29
  correct
• 3:29
  answers
• 3:29
  on
• 3:30
  some
• 3:30
  doctrinal
• 3:31
  checklist,
• 3:31
  but
• 3:32
  bold
• 3:33
  confidence.
• 3:34
  And
• 3:34
  I
• 3:34
  think
• 3:34
  that
• 3:35
  matters
• 3:35
  enormously,
• 3:36
  because
• 3:36
  so
• 3:37
  many
• 3:37
  people
• 3:37
  have
• 3:37
  made
• 3:38
  or
• 3:38
  made
• 3:39
  to
• 3:39
  feel
• 3:39
  like
• 3:39
  they're
• 3:40
  just
• 3:40
  guests
• 3:40
  in
• 3:41
  God's
• 3:41
  house,
• 3:42
  tolerated
• 3:42
  but
• 3:43
  not
• 3:43
  truly
• 3:43
  at
• 3:43
  home.
• 3:44
  People
• 3:45
  have
• 3:45
  been
• 3:45
  told
• 3:45
  they
• 3:45
  don't
• 3:45
  quite
• 3:46
  fit
• 3:46
  because
• 3:46
  of
• 3:46
  who
• 3:47
  they
• 3:47
  love
• 3:47
  or
• 3:48
  how
• 3:48
  they
• 3:48
  think
• 3:49
  or
• 3:49
  what
• 3:50
  questions
• 3:50
  that
• 3:51
  they're
• 3:51
  brave
• 3:51
  enough
• 3:51
  to
• 3:51
  ask.
• 3:53
  This
• 3:54
  passage
• 3:54
  flips
• 3:55
  that
• 3:55
  completely.
• 3:56
  You're
• 3:56
  not
• 3:57
  a
• 3:57
  guest.
• 3:58
  You're
• 3:58
  not
• 3:59
  on
• 3:59
  probation.
• 4:00
  If
• 4:00
  you're
• 4:01
  holding
• 4:01
  on
• 4:01
  to
• 4:01
  that
• 4:02
  bold,
• 4:02
  stubborn
• 4:03
  confidence
• 4:03
  in
• 4:03
  the
• 4:03
  way
• 4:04
  of
• 4:04
  Jesus,
• 4:05
  you
• 4:05
  are
• 4:05
  the
• 4:06
  house.
• 4:07
  God
• 4:07
  is
• 4:07
  building
• 4:08
  something
• 4:08
  out
• 4:08
  of
• 4:08
  your
• 4:08
  very
• 4:09
  life.
• 4:10
  I
• 4:10
  like
• 4:10
  to
• 4:10
  think
• 4:11
  about
• 4:11
  my
• 4:11
  three
• 4:11
  children.
• 4:12
  They're

  all
• 4:12
  adult.
• 4:12
  My
• 4:13
  three
• 4:13
  children.
• 4:13
  They're
• 4:13
  all
• 4:13
  adult
• 4:14
  now.
• 4:15
  They're
• 4:15
  all
• 4:15
  building
• 4:16
  amazing

  lives
• 4:16
  in
• 4:17
  their

  own
• 4:17
  right.
• 4:18
  The
• 4:18
  thing
• 4:18
  I
• 4:18
  always
• 4:18
  wanted
• 4:19
  them
• 4:19
  to
• 4:19
  feel
• 4:19
  was
• 4:20
  that
• 4:20
  our
• 4:20
  home
• 4:21
  wasn't
• 4:21
  a
• 4:22
  place
• 4:22
  they
• 4:22
  had
• 4:22
  to
• 4:22
  earn
• 4:23
  their
• 4:23
  way
• 4:23
  into.
• 4:23
  It's
• 4:24
  theirs.
• 4:25
  They
• 4:25
  belong
• 4:26
  in
• 4:27
  our
• 4:27
  home
• 4:27
  fully.
• 4:28
  Even
• 4:28
  on
• 4:29
  the
• 4:29
  hard
• 4:29
  days.
• 4:30
  Especially
• 4:31
  perhaps
• 4:31
  on
• 4:31
  the
• 4:32
  hard
• 4:32
  days.
• 4:33
  That's
• 4:33
  what
• 4:33
  God
• 4:34
  is
• 4:34
  saying
• 4:34
  here.
• 4:35
  You
• 4:36
  are
• 4:36
  the
• 4:36
  house,
• 4:37
  so
• 4:37
  live
• 4:37
  like
• 4:38
  it.
• 4:39
  A
• 4:40
  second
• 4:40
  point
• 4:40
  to
• 4:40
  ponder.
• 4:41
  The
• 4:42
  real
• 4:42
  danger
• 4:42
  isn't
• 4:42
  asking
• 4:43
  too
• 4:43
  many
• 4:43
  questions.
• 4:43
  It's
• 4:44
  refusing
• 4:44
  to
• 4:44
  keep
• 4:44
  listening.
• 4:46
  The
• 4:46
  wilderness
• 4:46
  warning
• 4:47
  here
• 4:48
  in
• 4:48
  this
• 4:48
  passage
• 4:49
  is
• 4:49
  fascinating.
• 4:49
  And
• 4:50
  God's
• 4:50
  complaint
• 4:51
  about
• 4:51
  the
• 4:51
  ancestors
• 4:52
  isn't
• 4:52
  that
• 4:52
  they
• 4:53
  are
• 4:53
  doubted.
• 4:54
  It
• 4:54
  isn't
• 4:54
  that
• 4:54
  they
• 4:55
  had
• 4:55
  moments
• 4:55
  of
• 4:55
  fear
• 4:55
  or
• 4:56
  confusion.
• 4:56
  The
• 4:56
  problem
• 4:57
  was
• 4:57
  that
• 4:57
  they
• 4:57
  refused
• 4:58
  to
• 4:58
  let
• 4:59
  me
• 4:59
  do
• 4:59
  it
• 4:59
  my
• 4:59
  way.
• 5:00
  They
• 5:00
  watched
• 5:01
  God
• 5:01
  work
• 5:01
  for
• 5:01
  40
• 5:02
  years
• 5:02
  and
• 5:02
  still
• 5:02
  insisted
• 5:03
  on
• 5:03
  their
• 5:03
  own
• 5:03
  script.
• 5:04
  They
• 5:05
  turned
• 5:05
  a
• 5:05
  deaf
• 5:05
  ear.
• 5:06
  They
• 5:06
  wouldn't
• 5:07
  walk
• 5:07
  down
• 5:07
  a
• 5:07
  new
• 5:07
  road.
• 5:08
  The
• 5:08
  passage
• 5:09
  is
• 5:09
  today,
• 5:09
  please
• 5:10
  listen
• 5:11
  today,
• 5:13
  present
• 5:13
  tense.
• 5:14
  Not
• 5:14
  remember
• 5:15
  what
• 5:15
  you
• 5:15
  figured
• 5:16
  out
• 5:16
  20
• 5:16
  years
• 5:16
  ago
• 5:17
  or
• 5:17
  40
• 5:18
  years
• 5:18
  ago,
• 5:19
  not
• 5:21
  hold
• 5:21
  onto
• 5:21
  things
• 5:22
  forever
• 5:23
  today.
• 5:25
  So,
• 5:26
  for
• 5:27
  instance,
• 5:27
  I
• 5:27
  do
• 5:27
  a
• 5:27
  weekly
• 5:28
  podcast
• 5:29
  for
• 5:29
  people
• 5:30
  impacted
• 5:30
  by
• 5:30
  cancer.
• 5:31
  And
• 5:31
  it's
• 5:31
  one
• 5:31
  of
• 5:31
  the
• 5:31
  things
• 5:31
  I've
• 5:32
  learned
• 5:32
  from
• 5:33
  that
• 5:33
  community,
• 5:33
  is
• 5:33
  that
• 5:33
  the
• 5:34
  people
• 5:34
  who
• 5:34
  find
• 5:34
  their
• 5:34
  way
• 5:35
  through
• 5:36
  cancer
• 5:36
  aren't
• 5:36
  usually
• 5:37
  the
• 5:37
  ones
• 5:37
  with
• 5:37
  the
• 5:37
  most
• 5:38
  certainty.
• 5:39
  They're
• 5:39
  the
• 5:39
  ones
• 5:40
  who
• 5:40
  keep
• 5:40
  listening.
• 5:40
  They
• 5:41
  listen
• 5:41
  to
• 5:41
  their
• 5:41
  doctors.
• 5:42
  They
• 5:42
  listen
• 5:43
  to
• 5:43
  people
• 5:43
  who
• 5:44
  love
• 5:44
  them,
• 5:45
  and
• 5:45
  they
• 5:46
  listen
• 5:46
  to
• 5:46
  that
• 5:46
  small
• 5:47
  voice
• 5:47
  within
• 5:47
  them
• 5:48
  that
• 5:49
  Says
• 5:49
  there's
• 5:49
  still
• 5:49
  a
• 5:50
  road
• 5:50
  forward.
• 5:51
  Rigidity
• 5:52
  is
• 5:52
  not
• 5:52
  what
• 5:53
  gets
• 5:53
  us,
• 5:54
  is
• 5:54
  what
• 5:54
  gets
• 5:54
  us
• 5:55
  stuck
• 5:55
  in
• 5:55
  the
• 5:55
  wilderness.
• 5:56
  No
• 5:56
  doubt,
• 5:57
  not
• 5:57
  questions.
• 5:58
  Rigidity,
• 5:59
  the
• 5:59
  refusal
• 6:00
  to
• 6:01
  let
• 6:01
  God
• 6:02
  know.
• 6:03
  If
• 6:03
  you
• 6:04
  use
• 6:04
  to
• 6:04
  let
• 6:04
  God
• 6:04
  surprise
• 6:05
  us.
• 6:06
  The
• 6:06
  insistence
• 6:06
  that
• 6:07
  we
• 6:07
  already
• 6:07
  kind
• 6:07
  of
• 6:07
  know
• 6:08
  things
• 6:08
  ourselves.
• 6:08
  The
• 6:09
  whole
• 6:09
  map.
• 6:10
  And
• 6:10
  this
• 6:10
  passage
• 6:11
  says
• 6:11
  that
• 6:11
  kind
• 6:11
  of
• 6:12
  stubbornness
• 6:12
  is
• 6:12
  what
• 6:12
  keeps
• 6:13
  us
• 6:13
  from
• 6:14
  ever
• 6:14
  sitting
• 6:14
  down
• 6:14
  and
• 6:14
  resting.
• 6:16
  If
• 6:16
  you've
• 6:16
  been
• 6:16
  told
• 6:16
  that
• 6:16
  your
• 6:17
  faith
• 6:17
  means
• 6:17
  locking
• 6:18
  into
• 6:18
  your
• 6:18
  beliefs
• 6:19
  or
• 6:19
  never
• 6:20
  revisiting
• 6:20
  them,
• 6:21
  Hebrews
• 6:22
  3
• 6:22
  would
• 6:23
  like
• 6:23
  a
• 6:23
  word
• 6:23
  with
• 6:23
  you
• 6:24
  about
• 6:25
  that.
• 6:26
  Faith
• 6:26
  is
• 6:27
  a
• 6:27
  daily
• 6:27
  practice
• 6:28
  of
• 6:28
  listening.
• 6:29
  So
• 6:29
  today,
• 6:30
  please
• 6:31
  listen.
• 6:34
  So
• 6:34
  here's
• 6:35
  your
• 6:35
  action
• 6:35
  step
• 6:35
  for
• 6:35
  today.
• 6:36
  The
• 6:37
  passage
• 6:37
  says,
• 6:38
  today,
• 6:39
  please
• 6:39
  listen.
• 6:40
  So
• 6:40
  I
• 6:41
  want
• 6:41
  you
• 6:41
  to
• 6:41
  practice
• 6:41
  a
• 6:41
  moment
• 6:42
  of
• 6:42
  deliberate,
• 6:43
  open
• 6:43
  listening.
• 6:44
  It
• 6:45
  could
• 6:45
  be
• 6:45
  five
• 6:45
  minutes
• 6:45
  of
• 6:46
  silence
• 6:47
  before
• 6:47
  you
• 6:47
  start
• 6:47
  your
• 6:48
  day.
• 6:48
  It
• 6:48
  could
• 6:48
  be
• 6:49
  hearing
• 6:49
  someone
• 6:50
  out
• 6:51
  in
• 6:51
  your
• 6:51
  life
• 6:52
  who
• 6:52
  you
• 6:52
  usually
• 6:53
  tune
• 6:53
  out.
• 6:54
  It
• 6:54
  could
• 6:54
  be
• 6:54
  sitting
• 6:55
  with
• 6:55
  a
• 6:55
  scripture
• 6:55
  passage
• 6:56
  and
• 6:56
  letting
• 6:56
  them
• 6:56
  say
• 6:57
  something
• 6:57
  new
• 6:58
  instead
• 6:58
  of
• 6:59
  us
• 6:59
  kind
• 6:59
  of
• 6:59
  rehashing
• 7:00
  what
• 7:00
  you
• 7:00
  already
• 7:00
  think
• 7:00
  you
• 7:00
  knew
• 7:01
  or
• 7:01
  assumed
• 7:03
  in
• 7:03
  just
• 7:03
  a
• 7:03
  moment.
• 7:05
  And
• 7:05
  when
• 7:05
  you
• 7:05
  consciously
• 7:06
  say,
• 7:06
  okay,
• 7:07
  God,
• 7:07
  I'm
• 7:08
  not
• 7:08
  going
• 7:08
  to
• 7:08
  assist
• 7:08
  on
• 7:08
  my
• 7:09
  own
• 7:09
  script
• 7:09
  right
• 7:09
  now,
• 7:09
  but
• 7:10
  I'm
• 7:10
  listening
• 7:11
  and
• 7:11
  see
• 7:12
  what
• 7:12
  happens.
• 7:14
  We're
• 7:14
  going
• 7:14
  to
• 7:14
  pray
• 7:14
  here
• 7:15
  in
• 7:15
  just
• 7:15
  a
• 7:15
  moment.
• 7:15
  Before
• 7:15
  we
• 7:16
  do,
• 7:16
  I
• 7:16
  want
• 7:16
  you
• 7:16
  to
• 7:16
  know
• 7:16
  we've
• 7:17
  got
• 7:17
  a
• 7:18
  great
• 7:19
  resource
• 7:20
  for
• 7:20
  you
• 7:20
  called

  the

• 7:24
  You
• 7:24
  pick
• 7:24
  it
• 7:25
  up
• 7:25
  at
• 7:25
  our
• 7:26
  website,
• 7:26
  voiceofgoddaily.com
• 7:28
  let's
• 7:28
  pray.
• 7:30
  God,
• 7:31
  we
• 7:31
  want
• 7:31
  to
• 7:31
  be
• 7:31
  the
• 7:31
  house.
• 7:31
  Not
• 7:32
  a
• 7:32
  museum,
• 7:33
  not
• 7:33
  a
• 7:33
  monument
• 7:33
  of
• 7:34
  what
• 7:34
  we
• 7:34
  used
• 7:34
  to
• 7:34
  believe.
• 7:35
  A
• 7:35
  living,
• 7:36
  breathing
• 7:36
  house
• 7:36
  where
• 7:37
  bold
• 7:37
  confidence
• 7:37
  has
• 7:38
  room
• 7:38
  to
• 7:38
  grow.
• 7:39
  Where
• 7:39
  your
• 7:39
  spirit
• 7:40
  is
• 7:40
  doing
• 7:40
  something
• 7:40
  right
• 7:41
  now,
• 7:41
  today.
• 7:42
  Forgive
• 7:43
  us
• 7:43
  from
• 7:43
  the
• 7:43
  times
• 7:43
  when
• 7:43
  we've
• 7:44
  tuned
• 7:44
  a
• 7:44
  deaf
• 7:45
  ear.
• 7:45
  Not
• 7:46
  because
• 7:46
  we
• 7:46
  are
• 7:46
  afraid,
• 7:46
  but
• 7:47
  because
• 7:47
  we
• 7:47
  are
• 7:47
  stubborn.
• 7:48
  Because
• 7:49
  we
• 7:49
  wanted
• 7:49
  you
• 7:49
  to
• 7:50
  do
• 7:50
  it
• 7:50
  our
• 7:51
  way.
• 7:51
  And
• 7:51
  so
• 7:51
  soften
• 7:52
  us
• 7:53
  in
• 7:54
  this
• 7:54
  time
• 7:55
  and
• 7:56
  help
• 7:57
  us.
• 7:57
  For
• 7:57
  anyone
• 7:57
  listening
• 7:58
  who
• 7:58
  has
• 7:58
  felt
• 7:59
  like
• 7:59
  a
• 7:59
  guest
• 7:59
  in
• 7:59
  your
• 8:00
  house,
• 8:01
  like
• 8:01
  they
• 8:01
  were
• 8:02
  the
• 8:02
  one
• 8:02
  wrong
• 8:03
  question
• 8:03
  we
• 8:03
  have
• 8:03
  been
• 8:03
  asked
• 8:04
  to
• 8:04
  leave.
• 8:05
  Would
• 8:05
  you
• 8:05
  tell
• 8:05
  them
• 8:05
  today
• 8:06
  that
• 8:06
  they
• 8:06
  belong,
• 8:07
  that
• 8:08
  they
• 8:08
  are
• 8:08
  the
• 8:08
  house,
• 8:08
  Not
• 8:09
  a
• 8:09
  visitor
• 8:10
  for
• 8:10
  all
• 8:10
  of
• 8:10
  us.
• 8:11
  Give
• 8:11
  his
• 8:11
  ears
• 8:11
  to
• 8:11
  that
• 8:11
  work.
• 8:12
  Help
• 8:12
  us
• 8:13
  to
• 8:13
  hear
• 8:13
  what
• 8:13
  you're
• 8:14
  saying
• 8:14
  today.
• 8:15
  Not
• 8:15
  yesterday,
• 8:16
  not
• 8:17
  20
• 8:17
  years
• 8:17
  ago,
• 8:17
  but
• 8:18
  right
• 8:18
  now,
• 8:19
  in
• 8:19
  this
• 8:20
  moment,
• 8:20
  on
• 8:20
  this
• 8:20
  road
• 8:21
  lead
• 8:21
  us
• 8:22
  to
• 8:22
  rest
• 8:22
  that
• 8:23
  the
• 8:23
  wilderness
• 8:23
  generation
• 8:24
  ever
• 8:24
  found.
• 8:26
  Not
• 8:26
  because
• 8:27
  we're
• 8:27
