- 0:08Speaker 1: Suffocing on my impurity.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Evil treated.
- 0:17Speaker 3: My name's Tammy. I played for.
- 0:19Speaker 4: The band of The Witching Hour and the other members
- 0:24Speaker 4: are Travis South and Philly Ford and we've got a
- 0:28Speaker 4: new single coming out called dead In's Side.
- 0:30Speaker 3: It's coming out this Friday, the twenty eighth of March. Fantastic, Taming,
- 0:35Speaker 3: thanks for joining us, brother al right, thanks so much
- 0:37Speaker 3: for having me.
- 0:38Speaker 5: Oh pleasures. You say, The Witching Hour will return with
- 0:41Speaker 5: your new single dead Inside this Friday, March of twenty eighth.
- 0:44Speaker 5: So how you feel about it? Nos noves kicking end.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Heap's keen. I think people are really going
- 0:51Speaker 3: to eat it up. I think the fans are going
- 0:52Speaker 3: to love it.
- 0:53Speaker 4: So just keen to get some more new music out
- 0:56Speaker 4: just yet, get to get some new music out there.
- 0:59Speaker 3: And yeah, yeah cool.
- 1:01Speaker 5: So dive into the song a bit deeper musically for us,
- 1:03Speaker 5: made like what you're going forward with this one.
- 1:06Speaker 4: For this one, it's like a bit of a gothic
- 1:09Speaker 4: power ballad, so yeah, pretty much, almost like a heavy
- 1:13Speaker 4: rock meets Tim Burton kind of vibe. So yeah, pretty
- 1:19Speaker 4: much that's the kind of vibe we're going for for
- 1:20Speaker 4: that one.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Yeah, it's got a very engaging, atmospheric type of vibe
- 1:25Speaker 5: going on with it, Like, what's the story actually about?
- 1:28Speaker 5: Is it telling something like a creepy sort of story?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Pretty much?
- 1:31Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like a tragic romance, you know, kind of
- 1:34Speaker 4: like depression kind of like yeah, dark, somber kind of
- 1:38Speaker 4: feelings and aesthetic like kind of put into a song.
- 1:42Speaker 5: And what's the film to gonna be? Like what sorde
- 1:44Speaker 5: is that going to match in with the song?
- 1:47Speaker 3: Definitely?
- 1:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it's gonna it's gonna entail the whole tragic scenario happening,
- 1:52Speaker 4: and yeah, you'll have to wait and see.
- 1:55Speaker 5: Ah. So Get Inside follows on from your pre you
- 2:00Speaker 5: single Spiritually Sick, which came out in October last year.
- 2:02Speaker 5: So how does this one show a different side of
- 2:05Speaker 5: the Witching Hour too?
- 2:07Speaker 3: Spiritually Sick?
- 2:09Speaker 4: I think it shows we also have a very melodic,
- 2:11Speaker 4: crafty side as well as our heavy side as well.
- 2:15Speaker 4: That's one thing we pride ourselves on a lot of
- 2:17Speaker 4: light and sheades, So yeah, I guess it also kind
- 2:20Speaker 4: of yeah, showcases our melodic side absolutely.
- 2:25Speaker 6: Now.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Your debut single in twenty twenty, Sleep with the Stars,
- 2:28Speaker 5: was very well received, made I lifted the profile of
- 2:31Speaker 5: the band significantly. So when you were right in that track, like,
- 2:34Speaker 5: did you have any feeling at all that it was
- 2:36Speaker 5: going to be something special or was it just another song?
- 2:39Speaker 4: No, no way. I didn't expect it was going to
- 2:41Speaker 4: do as well as it did. When I was writing it,
- 2:43Speaker 4: I just thought, like, because our management at the time,
- 2:47Speaker 4: they said, you know, we need a good power ballad,
- 2:49Speaker 4: and I thought I just thought it'd be like an
- 2:52Speaker 4: album filler or something like that. And then you know,
- 2:55Speaker 4: I said it to management like that's it, that's the single,
- 2:57Speaker 4: and I'm like, oh, okay, and then it did all right,
- 3:00Speaker 4: so I was like, okay, wow, yeah, definitely took me off.
- 3:04Speaker 5: God. So that was a young band coming through, mate,
- 3:07Speaker 5: Like your first song comes out like that and it
- 3:09Speaker 5: is really well received. Like does it put more pressure
- 3:12Speaker 5: on you moving forward? Or does it take the pressure
- 3:14Speaker 5: off you a bit?
- 3:17Speaker 4: A bit of both. It definitely. It definitely sets the standard.
- 3:21Speaker 4: It gives you a standard. It's like, okay, we have
- 3:24Speaker 4: to try and top that now. So yeah, I think
- 3:28Speaker 4: I think this next single, dead Side could do that.
- 3:30Speaker 4: I think for the people that like Sleep I Reckon,
- 3:33Speaker 4: they're going to eat this one now.
- 3:35Speaker 5: And I guess like subconsciously too, you know, like you've
- 3:37Speaker 5: got that first song that's come out and done so well,
- 3:39Speaker 5: so subconsciously you'd want to keep following the same formula
- 3:43Speaker 5: for that song because you know people like it. But
- 3:46Speaker 5: as a musician, you want to expand as well, and
- 3:48Speaker 5: you want to show a different side of your musical site.
- 3:50Speaker 5: I guess so you said I did to be a
- 3:52Speaker 5: tricky situation.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Yeah, we've Yeah, we started experimenting with all different types
- 3:59Speaker 4: of and like new songs coming out and after this
- 4:03Speaker 4: where we're gonna we're gonna be working on an EP
- 4:05Speaker 4: with a lot of different, like different sounds on it.
- 4:08Speaker 4: So yeah, a little like some gothics, some heavy stuff,
- 4:12Speaker 4: some breakdowns, you know, power ballance.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yeah, just all of the above pretty much.
- 4:18Speaker 5: Now, Get Inside is your seventh single all Up that
- 4:21Speaker 5: you've released, and you've got the EP or debut album
- 4:24Speaker 5: coming out later on this year.
- 4:25Speaker 6: So are all those.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Songs going to be on it or they just just
- 4:28Speaker 5: a warm up for it?
- 4:29Speaker 3: To expect.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Maybe a few of the songs, but mean the new
- 4:34Speaker 4: songs will be on the EP or album.
- 4:37Speaker 5: That's a good way to do it in the modern
- 4:38Speaker 5: all day like so as I say, you're starting out
- 4:40Speaker 5: and your grandpeople with some cool songs, but most bands
- 4:43Speaker 5: will just chuck all seven of those on an album
- 4:45Speaker 5: and only come up with three or four new ones.
- 4:46Speaker 5: But you're not giving the fans what they want, you know,
- 4:48Speaker 5: Like it's it's a tough situation.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Oh definitely, yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 5: Yeah, So as a does a young band starting mate, like,
- 4:56Speaker 5: what what's the thought process that goes into your first album?
- 4:58Speaker 5: Like you just put on there what you've got, or
- 5:01Speaker 5: do you sort of hold back a bit more and
- 5:02Speaker 5: wait till you've got a heap of songs that you
- 5:04Speaker 5: want to that you can choose the best out of,
- 5:06Speaker 5: Like is it a matter of get it out quick
- 5:08Speaker 5: or being patient waiting?
- 5:10Speaker 3: That's it.
- 5:11Speaker 4: It's like you've got to think to yourself, like we
- 5:14Speaker 4: really want to get these songs out, but you also
- 5:16Speaker 4: think like what's going to work the best?
- 5:19Speaker 3: Like what are the fans going to like? You know,
- 5:21Speaker 3: what do we like?
- 5:22Speaker 4: So yeah, I guess it's all about weighing up a
- 5:25Speaker 4: lot of talking amongst the band about like what we
- 5:29Speaker 4: think the fans would like, what we like, and just
- 5:31Speaker 4: you know, finding a good in between.
- 5:34Speaker 5: Your press release calls that inside the first stone laid
- 5:37Speaker 5: for an impressive twenty twenty five. It mentions the album,
- 5:40Speaker 5: but it doesn't mention anything else. So what else you
- 5:42Speaker 5: got planned for this year?
- 5:43Speaker 3: And moving forward?
- 5:45Speaker 4: We're listen in the middle of putting a tour together
- 5:47Speaker 4: for Dead Inside and Yeah, pretty much play a munch
- 5:51Speaker 4: of new songs obviously Dead Inside and Yeah, just touring
- 5:55Speaker 4: around and you know, promoted the band.
- 5:59Speaker 5: So where's the best plays for people to keep up
- 6:01Speaker 5: with the band and find out where you playing?
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah, on all our socials, you know, Instagram.
- 6:06Speaker 4: We're both starting to get more active on TikTok, so
- 6:09Speaker 4: they can catch us on there, as everyone does these
- 6:12Speaker 4: days on TikTok. But yeah, pretty much, Yeah, any kind
- 6:17Speaker 4: of socials that will be there Facebook, It's TikTok.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Suffocate on my impurity, evil trade, my spirits, to bleeds unconscious.
- 6:44Speaker 7: Lead me down to the path of misery.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Because I like the sound.
- 6:54Speaker 7: Of spirit screaming, so mad bodies too. Now can I
- 7:05Speaker 7: live where the one thing you love is.
- 7:09Speaker 6: Out to get Jill? Now? Can I die where there's
- 7:14Speaker 6: no one on your side? And bad jol?
