  Anyway, lifting 10 year JGB yields past 2%.

  The yield on the 10 year Japanese government bond

  breached the 2% mark for the first time since 1999.

  The Bank of Japan real interest rates are expected to remain

  significantly negative. Do you know what that means?

  I'll teach you real quickly. Real interest rates, OK, And

  then I'll tell you why this is important because of the

  Japanese carry trade, which is a fancy term thrown around in the
• 21:49
  tradfy world. But real interest rates, OK,

  That means what are you really making on your money?

  To calculate the real interest rate, you take the current

  interest rate. So let's say, and the current

  interest rate like in the United States is what, 2 and three

  quarters 3%, you go to the bank or you put your money in a money
• 22:08
  market account, you're going to earn 3 percent, 4%.

  That's the prevailing interest rate, OK.

  You take that and you subtract from that the inflation rate,
• 22:19
  OK? So if you're making 3% on your
• 22:22
  money, but let's say the inflation rate is 7%, you take

  3. That's what you're earning, and

  you subtract 7 because that's the inflation rate.

  are going up. It's unwinding that.

  OK, And that affects crypto as well.

  A lot of people are saying that's why crypto, Bitcoin,

  other, other and, and but across the whole investment sphere

  could be very challenged in this environment because when the

  Japanese yen carry trade goes away, right?

  That's less liquidity in the market where people are

  investing into things like Bitcoin.

  And I've heard that brought up several times.
