- 1:48Speaker 1: Oh man, he was with your pacers. Yes, sir, he
- 1:51Speaker 1: got play for the pacers. I ain't do what he did,
- 1:53Speaker 1: but I got a chance.
- 1:55Speaker 3: To be on the team. But now I'm glad we
- 1:56Speaker 3: got him in the building.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Man, i'n'a let you do the honors and introduce listen man,
- 1:59Speaker 1: anytime we can get a legend in the building, especially
- 2:01Speaker 1: a PACER's legend building.
- 2:02Speaker 3: You know what it is.
- 2:03Speaker 1: We gigged about this, you've seen this man, champion, philanthropist,
- 2:07Speaker 1: one of the first people to speak about how important
- 2:10Speaker 1: it is for black Ben to go to therapy, to
- 2:12Speaker 1: have a release for their mental health and to use
- 2:15Speaker 1: this platform for other people to feel that type of
- 2:18Speaker 1: relief that they needed got the Dog Metalworld Police Man
- 2:20Speaker 1: appreciate of twenty Big.
- 2:22Speaker 4: God, thanks for having me man, Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Thanks for.
- 2:28Speaker 4: What that has said. How you would that's flying? That's
- 2:34Speaker 4: the first time hearing that.
- 2:36Speaker 3: That's sound lingo. That's good. You didn't hear you miss
- 2:41Speaker 3: the place.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You didn't want to hear that, But you a PACER's
- 2:44Speaker 1: legend being in the city before. We like, how was
- 2:47Speaker 1: it being in the city when the pacers was like lit?
- 2:50Speaker 1: Like y'all was it? How was that feeling in the
- 2:52Speaker 1: city because you always got a lot of love, especially
- 2:54Speaker 1: for the way you played, Like a lot of people
- 2:56Speaker 1: don't understand how we embrace our players here, Like if
- 2:58Speaker 1: you come to that you who were rock with you forever?
- 3:03Speaker 5: I love nap you know, so the history with that
- 3:05Speaker 5: but is interesting because I grew up a Nick fan.
- 3:09Speaker 4: I actually grew up a Boll fan.
- 3:10Speaker 5: You know, Michael Jordan is like Lebron James. So I'm
- 3:12Speaker 5: from New York by how throwing the bulls bandwagon, but
- 3:15Speaker 5: definitely a nick guy. I love New York. But the
- 3:18Speaker 5: crazy thing about the Paces I have my hood in Queens.
- 3:22Speaker 5: We tied to the Paces Sean Green playing for the Paces.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Vern Fleming I walked, you know, right the same block
- 3:29Speaker 5: Veron Fleman. You know, that's when he's from the hood
- 3:32Speaker 5: and when we've seen the Paces uniform since we was young.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Then I get to the Paces and then Vern Fleming
- 3:40Speaker 5: is my coach. So it was just crazy being able
- 3:44Speaker 5: somebody I idolize is now passing the rock while we're
- 3:47Speaker 5: getting shot to Yeah, he never I had.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Never really seen him because he was older.
- 3:51Speaker 5: But every day I just would think about, damn, Vern
- 3:54Speaker 5: Fleming is passing me the ball in practice and he's
- 3:58Speaker 5: sitting right here, you know, here next to me on
- 4:01Speaker 5: the bench. So you know, the paces are super special
- 4:04Speaker 5: to us. You know a lot of people don't real understand,
- 4:06Speaker 5: but the pace is super special. And then when I
- 4:09Speaker 5: came here, my whole family came here. Then obviously I
- 4:11Speaker 5: left and they just parked. You know, we got about
- 4:14Speaker 5: thirty family members here right now. When I left, it
- 4:17Speaker 5: was maybe ten. But we popping babies out. You know,
- 4:21Speaker 5: the artist's you know name, and the Holmes, my other
- 4:25Speaker 5: you know, my mom's last name. You know, we got
- 4:27Speaker 5: a couple of the last names. But the bloodline is like,
- 4:30Speaker 5: we love Naptown, we love Indiana, you know, and we always.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Will the lineage and that's crazy.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, and we get a classic burn
- 4:38Speaker 2: story burned our guy.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Yeah, that's good to hear. That's good to hear.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Like that's you know what I'm saying. You got a
- 4:44Speaker 2: classic story that you can share with us that ain't
- 4:46Speaker 2: too fit.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Yeah. Man, well I got the stories. I'm forty four.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I came here. I was twenty twenty two.
- 4:53Speaker 5: So Vern's niece has a baby with my cousin, So
- 4:58Speaker 5: that's one. That's one story. Yeah, And his brother was nice.
- 5:03Speaker 5: I don't know, his victor's brother nice, super nice. And
- 5:08Speaker 5: then I played in you know, local ball with Lou
- 5:12Speaker 5: Guns who coached Verne Fleming also, so it's like a
- 5:16Speaker 5: lot of different I don't have any other stories because
- 5:19Speaker 5: you know, he like when he went to the league
- 5:21Speaker 5: a lot of people still, you know, we're still in
- 5:22Speaker 5: the hood that he played with, but they were so
- 5:25Speaker 5: so much older than us. Those stories over our head.
- 5:28Speaker 5: He was he was like a kind of a good guy,
- 5:31Speaker 5: not getting in any trouble. So it was it wasn't
- 5:32Speaker 5: a lot of stories out there. You didn't verne go
- 5:35Speaker 5: play ball.
- 5:35Speaker 4: You never heard any crazy stories.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yeah, we got to take it back though.
- 5:40Speaker 1: We said a little off my conversation about the ad
- 5:42Speaker 1: you days, you was probably one of the best at
- 5:44Speaker 1: YOU teams ever.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Some say it's the best ever.
- 5:47Speaker 4: That's crazy for sure. Up for debate, that's one hundred percent.
- 5:53Speaker 5: But to hear people say it, it's wild because we
- 5:57Speaker 5: felt like that, you know, and but people started to
- 6:00Speaker 5: say it, even like the younger generation.
- 6:02Speaker 4: I'm like, how do they even find out? But the
- 6:05Speaker 4: team was sick, you know.
- 6:06Speaker 5: You had you had me and Eric Barkley picking up
- 6:09Speaker 5: full court, were picking up ninety four feet, you know.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Then you had Lamar Oldham who was six eleven point
- 6:15Speaker 5: guard at that time, you know, high school Elton brand
- 6:18Speaker 5: who was always the best. Lamar was always number two,
- 6:20Speaker 5: and then me Eric was always like tied for three.
- 6:24Speaker 5: And then we had a couple of people that was
- 6:25Speaker 5: not far behind.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Reggie Jesse came off the bench.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Reggie Jesse, My god, that's crazy.
- 6:31Speaker 2: That's the same legend for sure.
- 6:33Speaker 4: That's incredible, man.
- 6:35Speaker 5: And I felt bad for him because he playing on
- 6:38Speaker 5: our team and we all team ball players, so nobody
- 6:41Speaker 5: nobody had twenty, nobody had thirty.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Elton average fourteen.
- 6:45Speaker 5: I averaged twelve pointy eight, you know, So it was
- 6:47Speaker 5: all about hustle and Reggie you know.
- 6:49Speaker 4: He's a team player, Lamar, you see, Lamar, my team player.
- 6:53Speaker 4: You know.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I was the man on my team's here. But when
- 6:55Speaker 5: I went to the lake, I had to play a role.
- 6:56Speaker 5: I can play a role easy, that's easy, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 5: you know, full five, be effective. That's how we played.
- 7:02Speaker 5: It wasn't about how many shots you missed. It was
- 7:05Speaker 5: about just trying to win. So I was never worried
- 7:07Speaker 5: about field goal percentage. And that's how we all That's
- 7:10Speaker 5: how we all were, and we respected Elton as the
- 7:12Speaker 5: best player on the team, you know. And then guys
- 7:14Speaker 5: like Reggie, you know, he wouldn't play as much, so
- 7:17Speaker 5: he he could have went somewhere else. Yeah, but nobody
- 7:20Speaker 5: was thinking about, Oh I played on this team. I'm
- 7:23Speaker 5: not gonna get scouted. We was thinking about winning now,
- 7:27Speaker 5: you know. And so it was like, you know, he
- 7:29Speaker 5: he sacrificed a lot.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Did you ever go up against Tim Thomas squad.
- 7:33Speaker 5: Was a year older than us. We were younger. Tim
- 7:36Speaker 5: gave us forty one time for the show.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Was he really like that in high school?
- 7:40Speaker 1: Oh?
- 7:40Speaker 4: My goodness. He was pretty solid league.
- 7:46Speaker 5: He was nice, played the same way, played the same way,
- 7:48Speaker 5: played the same way. But he was older than us.
- 7:51Speaker 5: But he gave us forty. He was a tournament called Portchester.
- 7:54Speaker 5: So port Chester it was New York's at his finals
- 7:57Speaker 5: with no foules. It was a high school tournament fouls.
- 8:01Speaker 5: So it's the only tournament, like there is no tournament,
- 8:03Speaker 5: the only tournament like this. So you can literally, you know,
- 8:07Speaker 5: you want a fast break. They had, They're coming at
- 8:09Speaker 5: your head. Is everybody wasn't just me? This was like
- 8:13Speaker 5: the league and you know. And then so in that
- 8:15Speaker 5: tournament he had forty in a small gym.
- 8:18Speaker 4: That's when I knew he was the truth.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I was playing above the realm.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Tournament was it was? It was one of my favorite
- 8:24Speaker 5: A lot of people don't know about Portchester.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It was one of my favorite. I wouldn't have played that. Yeah,
- 8:30Speaker 1: like football, if you.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Started to Lindy, you was a real.
- 8:36Speaker 6: Night crazy yeah, yeah, but yeah, exactly, it really was.
- 8:46Speaker 5: It was high school too, because the streets in New
- 8:48Speaker 5: York was like tough playing in the streets, but this
- 8:50Speaker 5: it was like an organized tournament and you wouldn't expect
- 8:53Speaker 5: you wouldn't expect it to be that aggressive. But Tim,
- 8:56Speaker 5: Tim had he remember one game he had ten threes.
- 8:58Speaker 5: I remember the game, and Tim was Tim was the
- 9:01Speaker 5: truth for sure.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I had to ask about it.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Man, we could move on, but I had, I mean
- 9:07Speaker 1: speaking about like high schooling around that time. Is there
- 9:09Speaker 1: anybody like New York is a basketball state? Is there
- 9:13Speaker 1: anybody we like wouldn't know that was like super nice?
- 9:15Speaker 1: Like you said, those guys, Is there anybody else from
- 9:18Speaker 1: New York?
- 9:18Speaker 5: That was so many guys, so so many guys. And
- 9:21Speaker 5: when I came into the league, I will always shout
- 9:23Speaker 5: out the guys that nobody heard about because I felt.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Like I was obligated. You know.
- 9:29Speaker 5: It was a guy named Mike Chaffill from my neighborhood,
- 9:31Speaker 5: Mike Chatfield. I was thirteen. He beat me thirty two
- 9:33Speaker 5: to two. You know he was tough. He later died
- 9:38Speaker 5: on twenty ten on I had a my name, his
- 9:42Speaker 5: name inscribed in my head, said Chatty.
- 9:45Speaker 4: He died in a drug deal.
- 9:46Speaker 5: But you know it was players like that that, you know,
- 9:49Speaker 5: they didn't have the support. You know, they didn't have
- 9:52Speaker 5: the father figures and stuff. So they you know, they
- 9:55Speaker 5: go on other routes. But he stands out and other
- 9:58Speaker 5: than some players just current make it some and have
- 10:00Speaker 5: the street side, but they didn't have the guidance you
- 10:03Speaker 5: could a guy like Ali.
- 10:04Speaker 4: You probably heard all.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Elitec god bro Well look legit, legit. I played against
- 10:15Speaker 5: Alibum plenty of times six eight, you know, thrown behind
- 10:18Speaker 5: the back past his full court now on target on
- 10:20Speaker 5: time at sixth eight, like he was. He was incredible,
- 10:23Speaker 5: even though he was in the street playing street ball.
- 10:25Speaker 5: I actually brought him to Indiana because he was going
- 10:28Speaker 5: through a lot. He was trying to train. So I'm like, Alimo,
- 10:30Speaker 5: if you want to play in the league, you gotta
- 10:32Speaker 5: work cross. I brought him out to Indiana. He was
- 10:34Speaker 5: in the pacers gym were working working them out. Yeah,
- 10:37Speaker 5: I worked out all Actually, Chatty was in the pace.
- 10:39Speaker 5: We was all out here one year, everybody working, just
- 10:41Speaker 5: working on our game, you know, when we had access
- 10:43Speaker 5: to the gym, but it was a lot of players.
- 10:46Speaker 4: You know that that I thought was nice.
- 10:48Speaker 1: For sure, Dan been a pacer, Larry, we could have
- 10:51Speaker 1: had off the back.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Jamal. We had no cardio. He had no cardio at
- 10:56Speaker 4: that time.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But that's a testament to him because out here from
- 11:01Speaker 1: we all know, Andre Owen said the same thing about you.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Man.
- 11:03Speaker 1: He said he used to have runs out tenth and
- 11:05Speaker 1: Post and he used to come up there and who
- 11:07Speaker 1: with him and he was like, man, you can play.
- 11:09Speaker 1: And you called Larry and him up there to watch
- 11:11Speaker 1: him work out, and he got He made the Facers
- 11:13Speaker 1: team because of that.
- 11:14Speaker 5: That was It was random because I respect Andre's work ethic,
- 11:18Speaker 5: even though he get all the foul calls.
- 11:21Speaker 1: To this day, he still ow me some calls.
- 11:28Speaker 4: You can't You're.
- 11:29Speaker 5: Not gonna win a battle with Andre. You ain't winning
- 11:32Speaker 5: no battle. But I'd be like, man, your boy. Then
- 11:34Speaker 5: he's gonna get mad, he's gonna poke his chests out.
- 11:36Speaker 5: I ain't getting no fould andres my god. But he's tough.
- 11:43Speaker 5: You know, he was solid, and you know I wanted
- 11:45Speaker 5: to rock with him. Honestly, I felt like he's a dog,
- 11:48Speaker 5: and I forgot that he was actually on our team,
- 11:50Speaker 5: but I felt like he was a dog.
- 11:53Speaker 3: He said that. Man, shout out to you.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Definitely, man, definitely, I was. I love playing with dogs, man,
- 11:59Speaker 5: I'm not gonna lie. It was every practice that we
- 12:01Speaker 5: was in Indiana practices, it was intense.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Man.
- 12:05Speaker 1: That's the craziest part is like obviously when you came
- 12:07Speaker 1: to Indy and then the team they formed, like that's
- 12:10Speaker 1: the one. Somebody was like the Pacers might win the
- 12:13Speaker 1: championship like we were. I felt, in the heart of
- 12:15Speaker 1: hearts we had a contented team. I don't get to
- 12:17Speaker 1: say that often. You know what I'm saying. Years of heartbreak,
- 12:19Speaker 1: I get it, But that time period especially, I was like,
- 12:22Speaker 1: we have everything we needed.
- 12:23Speaker 3: When this ship, I feel like we were the best
- 12:24Speaker 3: team in the league. That's the best patience team ever.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but for sure, oh hold on, yeah, and no
- 12:30Speaker 1: disrespect to the teams and went to the finals with
- 12:32Speaker 1: j Rose Mark Jackson.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Here, it was different, brof we believed it.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Then pin strips, bro I mean a little flowed, but
- 12:41Speaker 1: then that was different, like they knew what time it
- 12:45Speaker 1: was with us.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Y'all had a bunch of two way players.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Yeah, everybody was. Everybody was too way. Yeah, you know,
- 12:49Speaker 5: everybody was two way. Jamaine could have won Defensive Player. Yeah,
- 12:54Speaker 5: you know, I thought he should have won MVP. And
- 12:57Speaker 5: I don't know, KG is my dude. It's not to
- 13:01Speaker 5: you know, slight him. But let's just give Jamaine his flowers. Sure,
- 13:04Speaker 5: you know, because people forget that Jamayne once he actually
- 13:07Speaker 5: finished third, I thought he should have been MVP because
- 13:10Speaker 5: he was the best on that team. We won sixty
- 13:12Speaker 5: one games. Nice, we was five seven games ahead of
- 13:15Speaker 5: everybody else, So well what does that mean?
- 13:18Speaker 4: You know? So I feel like Jamaine was getting slighter,
- 13:20Speaker 4: and so many do.
- 13:21Speaker 5: He's so professional, you know, he's I brought him down
- 13:25Speaker 5: a little bit when I left, you know, when I
- 13:28Speaker 5: can request the trades. You know, he don't get the MVP,
- 13:31Speaker 5: and he's still resilient. It's still fly like he was
- 13:35Speaker 5: two years old, you know. But we definitely had a
- 13:39Speaker 5: lot of two way players.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I gotta ask you talk about just a little bit,
- 13:44Speaker 1: but we would love to hear it again if possible.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Your legendary pickup game with MJ Man, How was that
- 13:49Speaker 1: playing ball with the goat.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Incredible. It was incredible because so I'm from I'm from
- 13:56Speaker 5: you know, from New York. To pickup basketball is what
- 13:59Speaker 5: we take it serious. So that's all I know, you know,
- 14:02Speaker 5: is to is to work hard.
- 14:03Speaker 4: So MJ. I idolized MJ.
- 14:06Speaker 5: You know, turn I got Defensive Player of the Year
- 14:09Speaker 5: and his number, that's his number, that's twenty three.
- 14:11Speaker 4: That ain't nothing but MJ. Man So.
- 14:14Speaker 5: And then when I was nineteen, we had these open runs,
- 14:17Speaker 5: and you know how we play open runs. You know
- 14:19Speaker 5: some Andre Owens. He would have loved these runs MJ.
- 14:22Speaker 5: When he The problem with MJ is when he get
- 14:25Speaker 5: the ball, he gonna score. So that's where you mess
- 14:28Speaker 5: up by letting him catch it. So every time he
- 14:31Speaker 5: would catch it, he was scoring. Some on my head,
- 14:32Speaker 5: I'm just like, I can't let this dude touch the ball.
- 14:36Speaker 5: So he was posting me up one time and I
- 14:39Speaker 5: was trying to deny, and they had referees in open runs.
- 14:42Speaker 5: So as I was trying to deny him, you know,
- 14:44Speaker 5: as I was denying him, I just moved his arm
- 14:47Speaker 5: out the way, you know, and then as I moved
- 14:49Speaker 5: to arm, I hit him with my right level and
- 14:51Speaker 5: they hit him in his ribs and then you know,
- 14:54Speaker 5: his ribs cracked his ribs and then so I seen
- 14:58Speaker 5: him go like this, but I ain't think nothing another it.
- 15:00Speaker 5: So I seen him holding it. So we go down,
- 15:03Speaker 5: we miss the shot. MJ give me the ball, MJ
- 15:06Speaker 5: get the ball, He hold it, come down free throw line,
- 15:10Speaker 5: game winner, and walk.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Off the court. I'm like, damn, MJ. Nice.
- 15:13Speaker 5: And then the next day I get a I seen
- 15:16Speaker 5: in the media said Metaworld piece punched MJ. You know it,
- 15:21Speaker 5: said mat and run out of test punched MJ and
- 15:24Speaker 5: broke his ribs. So now I'm sick. I'm sure I
- 15:27Speaker 5: can't leave the house. I'm not going to practices in summertime.
- 15:30Speaker 5: But we're still training. So I'm and my agent called me.
- 15:33Speaker 5: My agent called me, He like, where are you at?
- 15:37Speaker 5: I said, read read the paper. I'm I'm depressed. This
- 15:42Speaker 5: is my guy. And the MJ called me, and MJ
- 15:46Speaker 5: I was really depressed. He said, hey's all right, Man's
- 15:48Speaker 5: all right, young fella. Just on the phone. It's all right,
- 15:50Speaker 5: young fella, it happens. You're gonna be good. I know
- 15:53Speaker 5: you didn't mean, I.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Said, MJ.
- 15:54Speaker 5: And my bad man. I was just playing hard. But
- 15:57Speaker 5: those runs. It was intense, I believe. Yeah, it was intense.
- 16:01Speaker 5: We was going hard. And m J actually asked me
- 16:04Speaker 5: to come back, you know, he was like, hey, I
- 16:06Speaker 5: want you to come back. And I was young and
- 16:09Speaker 5: I was like, he was like, yeah, could you giving
- 16:11Speaker 5: me that work? But I was, I was in my
- 16:13Speaker 5: prime and at nineteen I was.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I was.
- 16:15Speaker 5: My defense was crazy the whole time. My offense wasn't there,
- 16:18Speaker 5: so it wasn't highlighted, but my defense was like, you know,
- 16:21Speaker 5: it was definitely a lead at nineteen.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you know you was full of energy one time.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Yeah, not tired. Don't get tired.
- 16:26Speaker 1: When did that offense click though? Because you can't? Hey
- 16:29Speaker 1: you started killing? When did that click for you?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Like?
- 16:34Speaker 1: All right, I know I can guard everybody. I'm locking
- 16:36Speaker 1: everybody up, but I get buckets too well.
- 16:39Speaker 5: You know, Like so when I was young, I wasn't
- 16:41Speaker 5: able to score. At some point in time my high school,
- 16:43Speaker 5: I was scoring the rock. I was hitting threes and
- 16:44Speaker 5: all this stuff. I got to college. You know, for me,
- 16:48Speaker 5: I want to win. So if we're losing the game,
- 16:51Speaker 5: I'm just I'm a hustle mob. I'm not thinking about offense.
- 16:54Speaker 5: I'm thinking about running, I'm thinking about closing out, and
- 16:57Speaker 5: so I don't have no legs for offense. So you know,
- 16:59Speaker 5: a lot of time I was in college, out have
- 17:00Speaker 5: eleven points, eight points, you know, maybe fifteen points for me.
- 17:04Speaker 4: That's that's a great night for me.
- 17:05Speaker 5: When I got to the league, I was at averaging eleven,
- 17:07Speaker 5: averaging twelve, and then we were losing. We losing, So
- 17:10Speaker 5: I said, I had to work on my game because
- 17:12Speaker 5: I can't I can't keep leaving us a chance.
- 17:14Speaker 4: So every year I kept improving, just.
- 17:16Speaker 5: In the gym, you know, four times a day in
- 17:18Speaker 5: the gym almost you know, five to seven hours every
- 17:21Speaker 5: day working on my game.
- 17:23Speaker 4: And I just paldled on. I just kept getting better.
- 17:26Speaker 5: And then when I got Defensive Player of the Year,
- 17:29Speaker 5: I was averaging eighteen. That next summer, I was in
- 17:31Speaker 5: the gym every day. So then Larry Bird was coming
- 17:33Speaker 5: down to the gym, and then Larry was working me
- 17:36Speaker 5: every day. I said, I'm not about to miss out
- 17:37Speaker 5: on this opportunity. I'm in the gym every day. I
- 17:40Speaker 5: had to leave Indiana, you know, and then I just
- 17:42Speaker 5: I was getting better every week. Every two weeks game
- 17:45Speaker 5: was agatting crazy, and I came back. I was averaging
- 17:47Speaker 5: twenty plus. You know, I was like, before I got suspended,
- 17:49Speaker 5: I was at twenty four. I was at twenty four game.
- 17:52Speaker 4: What happened?
- 17:52Speaker 5: Well back then, you know, God's to hold you. So
- 17:56Speaker 5: I had to figure out how to score off one dribble.
- 17:59Speaker 5: So you'll see a lot and and that in that year.
- 18:01Speaker 5: You'll see jab wonderuble shot once you were right shot,
- 18:05Speaker 5: you know, okay, you know, or one double layer, wonduble,
- 18:07Speaker 5: wonderable layer. And I had to, you know, figure out
- 18:10Speaker 5: a way to get people off me and get to
- 18:12Speaker 5: the basket. And then Carlisle kept saying, you know, stop
- 18:15Speaker 5: holding the ball. You're holding the ball too long. So
- 18:18Speaker 5: I'm like, but you mean i'm holding this, you know
- 18:19Speaker 5: what you So I said, all right, if he's saying
- 18:22Speaker 5: I'm holding the ball too long, I'm gonna get buckets
- 18:24Speaker 5: before you can say you're holding the ball too you know,
- 18:27Speaker 5: says when I would get the ball cash Eventually he's
- 18:34Speaker 5: just one day he was in practice.
- 18:36Speaker 2: He said, no, you finished that.
- 18:40Speaker 5: One day he's in practice. He was like, Ron, you're
- 18:43Speaker 5: a unique scirl. You have their unique ability to drive
- 18:47Speaker 5: middle and shoot. So that's Okay, so he's solidified. He's
- 18:51Speaker 5: solidified in the practice one time, but it was just.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Work man man.
- 18:57Speaker 1: As a little ol fan, it was so hard trying
- 18:59Speaker 1: to get ticks to the Louisville Kentucky game. I know

- 20:06Speaker 2: You was a real two way player, bro. I used
- 20:08Speaker 2: to be like, how the fuck is he averaging twenty
- 20:12Speaker 2: four points and still playing the whole game on the
- 20:15Speaker 2: defensive end? What the fuck is he taking? I just
- 20:20Speaker 2: where did that come from? Is that always how you've
- 20:22Speaker 2: been THO? Like high energy? I mean like able to play? Well,
- 20:26Speaker 2: what's crazy?
- 20:27Speaker 4: Was I had?
- 20:28Speaker 5: I had a heart member when I was thirteen because
- 20:30Speaker 5: I was playing all day one day. Had to go
- 20:33Speaker 5: to the hospital because I was playing from seven am
- 20:35Speaker 5: to seven pm, right, so then I have to go
- 20:38Speaker 5: to the hospital. I caught pneumonia, but I caught an
- 20:41Speaker 5: issue in my valve in my lungs, so I get drafted.
- 20:45Speaker 5: They missed the whole thing before I'm assigned my contract.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Donny Wall saying, and you got blood leaking in your lungs, said,
- 20:53Speaker 5: what you mean? I go to the doctor. They say,
- 20:56Speaker 5: we got to open you up. What so they had
- 20:58Speaker 5: they was gonna open my chest up, and I'm like,
- 21:00Speaker 5: I get I'm like, get this ship. I'm not get
- 21:01Speaker 5: it over with. So my my agent, Mark bottles team.
- 21:06Speaker 5: He's like, He's like, I'm not letting him open up
- 21:08Speaker 5: your chest. I said, well, let's just get it over
- 21:11Speaker 5: a year and a half. I'm like, we'll just do
- 21:12Speaker 5: it whatever. Then they said, now we're gonna go. We're
- 21:14Speaker 5: gonna go through your underone. It's gonna be you. It'd
- 21:18Speaker 5: be about eight months, so cool, get it over with.
- 21:21Speaker 5: And then Mark said, nah, I'm not letting it go down.
- 21:25Speaker 5: So then Mark was researching. They went through an artery
- 21:28Speaker 5: in my thigh. They plugged up the hole in my heart.
- 21:33Speaker 5: So this whole time, I'm working extra hard and I'm like, damn,
- 21:37Speaker 5: why am I always tired in the first quarter?
- 21:39Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:39Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, I'm always tired me.
- 21:41Speaker 5: And meanwhile I'm I'm playing defense exhausted every time.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Man.
- 21:46Speaker 5: When they did the surgery, the doctor said it took
- 21:49Speaker 5: forty minutes. I went I went from being out a
- 21:51Speaker 5: year and a half to a forty minute surgery. The
- 21:54Speaker 5: doctor said, don't play basketball. I was in Chicago. I
- 21:56Speaker 5: went to Chicago surgery over he said, don't do anything
- 22:00Speaker 5: for a week. I drive right back to the gym,
- 22:03Speaker 5: to paces and I go right to work. Right my
- 22:08Speaker 5: heart stop my chest. So I caught called the train
- 22:11Speaker 5: and no trainers. I called my doctor. I said, your dot,
- 22:14Speaker 5: my heart is like something happened and was pumping out
- 22:16Speaker 5: my chest.
- 22:16Speaker 4: He said, what are you doing? I said, I'm working out?
- 22:18Speaker 4: He said, did I tell you?
- 22:21Speaker 5: Did I tell you the work out? So I took
- 22:22Speaker 5: off about I took off like two weeks, and then
- 22:26Speaker 5: I came back that next ship. It was crazy. I
- 22:30Speaker 5: have so much energy. B yeah, the blood. I was
- 22:33Speaker 5: playing with blood in my lungs. I had this one cough,
- 22:36Speaker 5: coughed up some blood. It was natural. And then you know,
- 22:39Speaker 5: ever since then, I was just like the game became
- 22:42Speaker 5: easier for me.
- 22:43Speaker 1: It was crazy that you had to fight yourself just
- 22:46Speaker 1: against them, and now.
- 22:48Speaker 3: You mocking them or died. Allright, I'm back to pick
- 22:53Speaker 3: up next week.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But that shout out to you, though agent, a great
- 23:05Speaker 1: agent is a great agent. But like a lot of guys,
- 23:09Speaker 1: they agent wanted to know that they want to took
- 23:11Speaker 1: those steps to do that.
- 23:13Speaker 5: He cared, even though I wasn't with him for a
- 23:15Speaker 5: long time because I had other things I was going through.
- 23:17Speaker 4: I should have never I should have never part of
- 23:19Speaker 4: the ways of Mark.
- 23:20Speaker 5: But I want to give him credit because without him
- 23:23Speaker 5: my check, I would haven They would open.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Me up for sure.
- 23:25Speaker 1: And like you said, there's a lot of a lot
- 23:27Speaker 1: of agents that would have just took that first opinion.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Also life that could have altered your whole career, especially
- 23:32Speaker 1: that time period that a little bit more lenient with
- 23:34Speaker 1: players now developing. Being I hurt a year back then
- 23:37Speaker 1: was really like two and a half. That could have
- 23:39Speaker 1: set your career all the way back.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I was, I was. I was.
- 23:42Speaker 5: I was devastating because you know, I played so hard
- 23:45Speaker 5: and it was just it was just so many things
- 23:47Speaker 5: going through my mind, you know. And and and Marcus like, nah,
- 23:52Speaker 5: we were gonna find something else. And he found somebody
- 23:55Speaker 5: from overseas that lived in Chicago to do the special surgery.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Credible, that's crazy, that's dope.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Who and what do you say young players? Now I
- 24:05Speaker 1: know you still follow league. Who are the young players
- 24:07Speaker 1: say remind you of you? Or that you favorite a lot?
- 24:10Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 24:10Speaker 5: You know, And I always I always answered this question
- 24:13Speaker 5: with I kind of reverse it. Who would I want
- 24:16Speaker 5: to be like. That's because like my career, it would
- 24:20Speaker 5: have been different if I was I was unstable. I
- 24:23Speaker 5: was just playing off the talent. I had the hard work.
- 24:26Speaker 5: I still got a lot of awards. But who I
- 24:28Speaker 5: want to be like Kawhi Lennett one? I could you
- 24:32Speaker 5: know what I'm saying, I would love it to have
- 24:33Speaker 5: been like him or and now I'm looking at this
- 24:36Speaker 5: Naxie kid. Oh my good, he's both ways huh oh
- 24:41Speaker 5: he is so nice.
- 24:43Speaker 4: I like his game.
- 24:44Speaker 5: But kawhile Linney, it's somebody I felt like that would
- 24:48Speaker 5: have been my career.
- 24:49Speaker 3: I could definitely see that.
- 24:50Speaker 5: That's like, if it was a little more he was,
- 24:54Speaker 5: he'd be the best player in the league.
- 24:56Speaker 3: And U only six two bro, no way, Yeah yeah
- 25:03Speaker 3: maxic for Philly.
- 25:06Speaker 7: Yeah, like my being wrong, like it makes it even
- 25:12Speaker 7: crazy size and the fact that you compare yourself to him.
- 25:17Speaker 3: It is incredible. Bro. But yeah, he ain't.
- 25:19Speaker 4: He ain't. That's crazy.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Because somebody kept telling me I got to watch this
- 25:27Speaker 5: kid because I watch a little bit. I don't watch
- 25:29Speaker 5: a lot of basketball, watch a little bit, you know.
- 25:32Speaker 5: I watch more boxing, love boxing, And somebody said, you
- 25:36Speaker 5: gotta wash this kid. You gotta wash this kid. And
- 25:38Speaker 5: they've been telling me for years and when I watched him,
- 25:40Speaker 5: I dam she's nice.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I thought he was six seven. That's crazy that you
- 25:45Speaker 3: thought he was tall.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Like six all right, Well, you know you know that's
- 25:50Speaker 4: not told Kawhi. Yeah, another player.
- 25:53Speaker 1: That's definitely, yeah, for sure, that was that's that's right.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Mexic Carrier that was about six five. The world will
- 25:59Speaker 3: be in Yeah, it would be different. Man.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Now I got asked you about this. Obviously played for
- 26:05Speaker 1: a couple of different teams. What was your favorite seed
- 26:07Speaker 1: to play in?
- 26:08Speaker 4: My favorite city outside that?
- 26:12Speaker 5: Outside of that, it's a lot of different variable I
- 26:14Speaker 5: played in l A.
- 26:14Speaker 4: L A was crazy.
- 26:17Speaker 5: I would say Chicago was pretty insane because MJ was dead,
- 26:22Speaker 5: you know, and they was. They was behind us too, man,
- 26:25Speaker 5: they was behind us. But I gotta say l A
- 26:29Speaker 5: l A. You know, l A the energy And then
- 26:31Speaker 5: it was crazy because when you came into that building,
- 26:34Speaker 5: the fans knew somebody was getting locked up.
- 26:36Speaker 4: It was a different It.
- 26:37Speaker 5: Was a different energy, like y'all good tonight, how y'all
- 26:42Speaker 5: feel tonight, don't worry too much.
- 26:45Speaker 4: It was a different energy. So NAP is always gonna
- 26:47Speaker 4: be in there.
- 26:47Speaker 5: But you said, but I would say, la, because you're
- 26:50Speaker 5: playing with Kobe and you're playing for championships. I almost
- 26:55Speaker 5: didn't even go to the Lakers. I was actually trying
- 26:56Speaker 5: to come back to Naptown. Actually, really, I was trying
- 27:01Speaker 5: to come back to Indiana. That was my first choice.
- 27:05Speaker 5: The history. It was too much, too much history, dude.
- 27:09Speaker 5: You know, can I be trusted? Can I be relied on?
- 27:12Speaker 4: You know? I wasn't a reliable player, so put me
- 27:15Speaker 4: in a bad spot.
- 27:17Speaker 1: See my favorite version of you as your career went.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I love when you was in Houston, boy, came with
- 27:23Speaker 1: the mallhawk. You was getting buckets. That's what I was like,
- 27:26Speaker 1: Damn me really get buckets.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Were still rapping.
- 27:30Speaker 5: I was still rapping. I did four albums my last year.
- 27:34Speaker 5: Not nobody heard. I put on his iTunes. I did
- 27:36Speaker 5: four albums my last season. I took it off.
- 27:40Speaker 4: I took it.
- 27:43Speaker 5: Wasn't like it wasn't it was just quick sixteen songs.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Knocked them out in number sixteen. But you know that
- 27:49Speaker 5: was just like fun, Yeah, it was fun. I'm from
- 27:53Speaker 5: a Queenslances like Nasi's right there, mall deep right here?
- 27:59Speaker 3: Huh give they give me problems about like.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I gotta grow you all right, we jump all over
- 28:07Speaker 2: the place, excuse us in the building. Who would you?
- 28:13Speaker 2: Who's in your not? You don't have to grank him
- 28:15Speaker 2: or nothing. But who's your favorite three rappers from?
- 28:18Speaker 3: And why?
- 28:18Speaker 4: Favorite three rappers? I would say Nas big L Pun.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I love Pun too.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's you know, it could change, but you
- 28:35Speaker 5: know Pun is incredible. Obviously jay Z is incredible, you know,
- 28:41Speaker 5: But yes.
- 28:41Speaker 2: What was you warming up to in them games? Man
- 28:44Speaker 2: to him? I have a picture of himself on his
- 28:53Speaker 2: phone screen.
- 29:02Speaker 3: And I ain't gonna hold you.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Hey, you had one of the hardest songs on two
- 29:05Speaker 1: K when you loaded up two K.
- 29:06Speaker 5: That moment of that was that ship that was that
- 29:10Speaker 5: was That was my most successful record. The other ones
- 29:14Speaker 5: was done, but it was it was Eminem a little bit,
- 29:20Speaker 5: It was mob Deep at the gate, it.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Was it was Mary J. Blige a lot s WVS.
- 29:24Speaker 4: I was an R and B. I love R and B.
- 29:26Speaker 5: But I said in Indiana I had to stop listening
- 29:28Speaker 5: to Mam Deep and Eminem four games.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Because yeah, man, I'm too, I'm not turning the Eminem.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Some shady bring like you bring like Yeah, let's go like, yeah.
- 29:42Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. I coached high school.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I had to tell my kids they couldn't listen to
- 29:46Speaker 1: the NBA young boy, because they'd be too hype. We
- 29:49Speaker 1: listened to Shot before the game. I said, you got cop,
- 29:52Speaker 1: that's shot before Bro, that'd be too hype. I had
- 29:59Speaker 1: to stop listening to rap. I stopped listening to rap
- 30:01Speaker 1: before a game in two thousand and five. No more,
- 30:04Speaker 1: it's over, it's too much.
- 30:06Speaker 5: I started listening to this other type of music, R
- 30:10Speaker 5: and B or like jazz or something that I was
- 30:13Speaker 5: listening to, some jazz like I.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Got later in my career.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Show No, but how was it once you got to
- 30:18Speaker 2: l a man?
- 30:19Speaker 3: How was that?
- 30:19Speaker 2: Like Kobe make a phone call like hey my boy,
- 30:22Speaker 2: I need you slide or it was.
- 30:25Speaker 5: It was crazy because so I was in Houston, and
- 30:28Speaker 5: I ain't gonna talk about things that was promised.
- 30:32Speaker 4: You know that'd be going. I don't want to talk
- 30:33Speaker 4: about it.
- 30:34Speaker 5: But I had a great season, so actually in Houston,
- 30:37Speaker 5: I wanted to stay in Houston. I came, I came out.
- 30:40Speaker 5: I thought I was gonna play Teamers. I was playing
- 30:43Speaker 5: two minutes again, five minutes again, eight minutes, so I said,
- 30:46Speaker 5: damn contract. Yeah, I'm sick. I'm in my prime twenty eight,
- 30:51Speaker 5: I'm sick, I'm playing. I'm like, all right, all right,
- 30:54Speaker 5: my career is pretty much over. I am ana deal
- 30:57Speaker 5: with it. Cheering, cheering on the bench. You know, I
- 31:00Speaker 5: thought I should.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Shane Batty was playing t mac t mat get hurt.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Then I started playing my average go from what a
- 31:08Speaker 5: five to seventeen, you know, being one of the now
- 31:10Speaker 5: featured the team, so we could get to the playoffs.
- 31:14Speaker 5: We take the team out the first round for the
- 31:15Speaker 5: first time in twelve years since our king was dead,
- 31:19Speaker 5: you know, next to Brandon Roy Nice b.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Roy one of my favorite players of all time.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yo, b Roy was You've got a classic interview talking
- 31:25Speaker 1: about him, so nice said no flaws in this game.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Nice yea he was that nice. Roy was nice like
- 31:34Speaker 4: way nice.
- 31:35Speaker 1: So me and Small Corpe, one of my my good guys,
- 31:37Speaker 1: a good dude, Me and him, used to battle about
- 31:39Speaker 1: him and Joe Johnson.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Who was better Joe b Roy and John b Roy
- 31:46Speaker 3: is not even close?
- 31:48Speaker 5: Uh No, I don't love Joe is not that He's
- 31:58Speaker 5: just saying, like as I was.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Me going both of them then I gotta respect it
- 32:02Speaker 2: because you are who you are.
- 32:04Speaker 4: You know, Roy was tougher than you know.
- 32:08Speaker 5: He had that that that d surgery. He gave me
- 32:11Speaker 5: forty and nobody gave me forty.
- 32:13Speaker 4: You know. The forty was in my face.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Damn you know what I'm saying.
- 32:17Speaker 4: And I was like, I was, I was baffoot.
- 32:19Speaker 5: I'm like here, I am in my prime, I'm in
- 32:22Speaker 5: his ass all that, and he just.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Go right, go right, faith.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Like it's definitely crazy.
- 32:33Speaker 5: That was crazy, Yeah, Paul, we wanted.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Was same man the rock.
- 32:51Speaker 4: The second was crazy. Yeah, yo, I gotta get on my.
- 33:03Speaker 3: I was so much other ship.
- 33:07Speaker 1: We can talk about that crazy.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Yeah, that's crazy. But hey, dang dash camb.
- 33:21Speaker 2: But I can I can respect that because you definitely
- 33:23Speaker 2: guarded all the best players in the league.
- 33:25Speaker 3: So your word goes, No, he was nice.
- 33:28Speaker 4: I got him up out of there early.
- 33:29Speaker 5: We put him out of you in uh in the
- 33:32Speaker 5: we played them in the first round, got him up
- 33:35Speaker 5: out of there. And first we was a sixth seed.
- 33:36Speaker 5: There was a three, So we got them up out
- 33:38Speaker 5: of there. And then the next year, I mean the
- 33:40Speaker 5: next the next round, I was aving twenty five.
- 33:42Speaker 4: I was playing really well. So I thought I was
- 33:44Speaker 4: back to Houston.
- 33:46Speaker 5: And then I said, all right, since I'm not going
- 33:48Speaker 5: back to Houston because they didn't offer, we don't want
- 33:50Speaker 5: to get into that, then I want to come back.
- 33:54Speaker 4: In that town. I never thought about going. The Lakers
- 33:57Speaker 4: just beat us, so I'm super competitive.
- 34:00Speaker 5: You know, King j I suppose I wanted went to Cleveland,
- 34:03Speaker 5: but I'm super competitive.
- 34:04Speaker 4: I want to play.
- 34:05Speaker 5: Against all his dudes. So I ain't go to Cleveland
- 34:07Speaker 5: because because of that. Now, because I love I love
- 34:09Speaker 5: King James. And then when Indiana turned me down, then
- 34:13Speaker 5: I called the Troy. I was I want to go
- 34:15Speaker 5: to Detroit and I want I'm all about the story
- 34:17Speaker 5: and I was like, damn, that should have be dope.
- 34:18Speaker 5: If I can win the title here, alright, cool, I
- 34:20Speaker 5: can't win the title in Indiana, that should be dope.
- 34:22Speaker 5: I can win the title, Troy. But then Detroit was like,
- 34:26Speaker 5: you know, not too much has happened.
- 34:27Speaker 3: I would love to hear how that phone call with Well.
- 34:30Speaker 5: I told my agents, and my agent was like, they
- 34:32Speaker 5: was like, nah, you don't. I was, I'm like, yeah,
- 34:35Speaker 5: a lot.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Of history I want to get into.
- 34:39Speaker 4: I like to go into the fire. I like to
- 34:40Speaker 4: go into the Lions.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Then, you know, I love being in the mouth of
- 34:44Speaker 5: the lion, you know, so when when when that and
- 34:47Speaker 5: when that didn't happen, I ain't even want to go
- 34:50Speaker 5: to the league. I tried to go to Greece, but
- 34:53Speaker 5: I'm like, there's nobody I want to play well talk.
- 34:56Speaker 5: My my agent was David Bowman, so I said, David,
- 34:59Speaker 5: I'm not gonna go to you know, Indiana or the Knicks.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Was like, the Knicks wasn't an option because then Donnie
- 35:06Speaker 5: Olsh was with the Knicks. Here's my GM here. I
- 35:09Speaker 5: tried to go to the Knicks, but that was like
- 35:12Speaker 5: it was just too much history then, so I said,
- 35:14Speaker 5: I I'm just gonna go to Greece. But I always
- 35:16Speaker 5: wanted to go to Europe and just ball out in
- 35:17Speaker 5: my prime. But then I get a call from the Lakers,
- 35:21Speaker 5: you know, uh, midnight, and might just say, you know,
- 35:25Speaker 5: the Lakers they want to talk to you, And I
- 35:28Speaker 5: was like, for what they just beat us, man, they
- 35:31Speaker 5: want to talk about they want you to join their team.
- 35:35Speaker 5: I called my family, met with dodtor Bus the next
- 35:38Speaker 5: morning and that was it.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Cham I've been watching Winter Time man and just to
- 35:44Speaker 1: see how he ran the organization. So I can imagine how,
- 35:47Speaker 1: like you said, it was such a smooth transaction. You
- 35:49Speaker 1: went from I ain't going nowhere to doctor Bus called
- 35:52Speaker 1: us up. He was that good like good.
- 35:57Speaker 5: He's a hands off you know a lot of hands
- 35:59Speaker 5: off on them, and you know he's not. You can't
- 36:02Speaker 5: go to doctor Bus and say, oh, I'm upset because
- 36:04Speaker 5: I ain't playing. You go said, he got talked to
- 36:06Speaker 5: the coach or you could talk to him. So you
- 36:08Speaker 5: feel like you're part of the organization. You feel like
- 36:11Speaker 5: you really you're in tune with owner. He's incredible. He's incredible.
- 36:14Speaker 4: RP. Doctor Buss.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Absolutely, But that that championship run y'all had, like y'all
- 36:20Speaker 1: have that series, it gets the Celtics and still one
- 36:22Speaker 1: of the best NBA finals ever man.
- 36:25Speaker 3: And it was wild.
- 36:26Speaker 1: How was it like, playing like like you said, you're
- 36:28Speaker 1: playing with cod in that environment in the churches.
- 36:32Speaker 3: How was that feeling?
- 36:33Speaker 6: Like?
- 36:33Speaker 1: Was that probably why your favorite like basketball series you
- 36:36Speaker 1: ever played in?
- 36:36Speaker 3: One of the best of them?
- 36:37Speaker 5: For me personally, when I was in Houston, I was
- 36:40Speaker 5: I was in my prime in Houston, But when I
- 36:41Speaker 5: got to the Lakers the next year, I was still,
- 36:44Speaker 5: you can't get worse in your prime in four months.
- 36:48Speaker 5: So I was still. I was really, but you know,
- 36:49Speaker 5: you're playing with Kobe. So I had to change my
- 36:52Speaker 5: whole mindset. I actually asked for a trade that yeah,
- 36:55Speaker 5: because I just couldn't get off. And then I met
- 36:57Speaker 5: with doctor Buss. He was like, hey, we're just trying
- 36:59Speaker 5: to win, and I had to say, okay, role player,
- 37:02Speaker 5: role player time, role player time, role player time. That
- 37:04Speaker 5: was a tough adjustment. So that was that was So
- 37:08Speaker 5: when I got to the point where I accepted the role,
- 37:11Speaker 5: I started to excel in a role, you know, and
- 37:13Speaker 5: it's hard being a volume shooter. Then going down to
- 37:16Speaker 5: five shots maybe eight missing shots. You oh for four
- 37:20Speaker 5: one game, I feel like, oh for twenty.
- 37:24Speaker 3: I feel like, don't miss the open one, Oh my goodness.
- 37:27Speaker 1: You know.
- 37:28Speaker 5: So then I had to get comfortable with being a
- 37:30Speaker 5: role player and almost being a bad player, you know,
- 37:34Speaker 5: and you know, so you know, from that perspective, you know,
- 37:37Speaker 5: it was it was a hell of a run. You know,
- 37:41Speaker 5: Kobe was incredible. And what was the first part of
- 37:43Speaker 5: the question of about I was, I was kind.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Of friend now you good.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I was just saying, like that environment like how it
- 37:47Speaker 1: was because like we all watched that face like still
- 37:49Speaker 1: like that was one of the best series ever.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Now it was crazy.
- 37:52Speaker 5: So playing as the Celtic, be and Paul got history
- 37:54Speaker 5: from Indiana paces. So when we was, you know, with
- 37:57Speaker 5: the Lakers paces, I'm sorry, with the and Celtics, it
- 38:02Speaker 5: was tough.
- 38:03Speaker 4: It was like a mirror. It was two very identical teams.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Yep.
- 38:07Speaker 5: You know, we win game one, they come back and win.
- 38:10Speaker 5: You know, we go to their place, get the first win.
- 38:12Speaker 5: It's back, it's back to one our favor.
- 38:15Speaker 4: We had home court. They won the next two.
- 38:17Speaker 5: In Game five, Kobe scored twenty five straight points and
- 38:20Speaker 5: I'm just in all you know, we in a finals
- 38:24Speaker 5: and I'm just like, for about full five possessions. I'm
- 38:27Speaker 5: just like, you know, this dude is incredible. In my head,
- 38:30Speaker 5: I'm not even focused on the game. I'm just like,
- 38:32Speaker 5: I'm like, this is incredible. This dude got all our points.
- 38:36Speaker 5: I'm trying to win the title and he's doing it
- 38:38Speaker 5: without our help. We's playing defense, but he's pretty much
- 38:41Speaker 5: doing it all himself. We lose the game and then
- 38:45Speaker 5: he was down three two, and then Phil Jackson came
- 38:49Speaker 5: to me and was like, I need you to get buckets.
- 38:51Speaker 5: He said, I need you to score, and I was
- 38:53Speaker 5: like really, And I did not expect to hear that.
- 38:56Speaker 4: My mindset would just work. Then I came out.
- 38:58Speaker 5: I had four points in the prior game four, then two,
- 39:02Speaker 5: then in game six, I get eighteens in game twenty,
- 39:05Speaker 5: I mean game seven after twenty you know. So I
- 39:08Speaker 5: was like, he gave me that extra confidence, you know,
- 39:10Speaker 5: to put the ball in the basket. I'm like, yeah,
- 39:12Speaker 5: I've been waiting.
- 39:14Speaker 4: For you to tell me. Yeah. But it was an
- 39:19Speaker 4: incredible run.
- 39:20Speaker 3: You really kept your jersey on that whole day.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Oh my goodness. It was crazy. I won my first title.
- 39:26Speaker 4: I was involved.
- 39:28Speaker 5: It was a different feeling because I'm like, oh my goodness,
- 39:30Speaker 5: I had a big game.
- 39:32Speaker 4: You know. It's like, you know, so everything was complete.
- 39:37Speaker 4: You know.
- 39:37Speaker 5: I had a great individual career. I got a Defensive
- 39:40Speaker 5: Player of the Year. I was trying to get MVP
- 39:42Speaker 5: that didn't happen. Now I got my table. I've been
- 39:45Speaker 5: an All Star once, so I'm happy. I'm content, you know.
- 39:47Speaker 5: And then I'm like, damn, I just think I kept
- 39:50Speaker 5: my I kept my finger tape on.
- 39:52Speaker 4: I didn't want to take nothing off. I kept my
- 39:55Speaker 4: I went out.
- 39:56Speaker 5: We partied it too. I went out everywhere I was.
- 39:59Speaker 5: I was like seven different clubs. I ended up in
- 40:02Speaker 5: the studio with dre performing Champions Recording Champions Part two.
- 40:07Speaker 4: Blowing it down. That was the end of my night.
- 40:13Speaker 2: It was wild.
- 40:13Speaker 5: Then I gave Chris Brown my jersey because I was
- 40:15Speaker 5: just so excited. And then I was super exciting Chris
- 40:18Speaker 5: Brown was and he was there. He was like, you know,
- 40:21Speaker 5: let me get that jersey. And I was like, damn,
- 40:23Speaker 5: you really want my jersey?
- 40:25Speaker 4: Hell yeah, you can have it back now.
- 40:28Speaker 1: No.
- 40:29Speaker 5: I was like, just don't lose it, you know, I
- 40:32Speaker 5: just don't lose it, Like this is important to me.
- 40:36Speaker 5: And to this day, I'm somebody went to his house
- 40:39Speaker 5: and he got he still got the jersey.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I was.
- 40:43Speaker 5: I was just so happy that, you know, that jersey.
- 40:45Speaker 5: It meant something to me. And for somebody like him
- 40:47Speaker 5: in his prime to ask for it, I'm like, hell.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Yeah it is Paul Pierce up there in like one
- 40:59Speaker 2: of your top matchup.
- 41:00Speaker 3: He ain't your top five so.
- 41:02Speaker 5: Far as opponents, Yeah, Paul, Yeah, Paul Weather the stone
- 41:06Speaker 5: because I was he could have folded, he could have
- 41:08Speaker 5: folded the amount of pressure I was putting on him. Yeah,
- 41:11Speaker 5: every minute, every game he could he never felt he
- 41:14Speaker 5: never folded. You know, he had great games against me,
- 41:17Speaker 5: and I had great defensive games against him, offensive games also.
- 41:21Speaker 5: So he's definitely one of my toughest opponents. Yeah, he's tough,
- 41:26Speaker 5: he's clutch.
- 41:29Speaker 2: You had one of my favorite players under ten points
- 41:31Speaker 2: before too. I was upset which one was Mellow Man
- 41:35Speaker 2: car Mellow.
- 41:36Speaker 5: I love Mellow, Mellow, mellows tough, Mello, I love Mellow.
- 41:40Speaker 5: Was I had to give one hundred against Metal. I
- 41:43Speaker 5: couldn't take a I couldn't take a breather. So if
- 41:45Speaker 5: you go out to the club against me, you asking
- 41:52Speaker 5: to not score, you can't go out. Yeah, so I
- 41:55Speaker 5: don't know what he was doing on some of those nights, you.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Know outside, I wait, what scene was you on when
- 42:02Speaker 3: he was when.
- 42:02Speaker 2: You pacers man all the prices when this happened.
- 42:05Speaker 5: But one time, you know, Mellow, I thought that, obviously
- 42:10Speaker 5: he's a great player. I thought he could have worked
- 42:11Speaker 5: a little harder to get in shape. He did at
- 42:13Speaker 5: the end of his career. If you notice, at the
- 42:15Speaker 5: end of his career he was he was hustling. I thought,
- 42:18Speaker 5: if you would have put that to in the beginning
- 42:19Speaker 5: of his career, he would have been a different player.
- 42:22Speaker 5: But he was just scoring the ball so easy. But
- 42:24Speaker 5: you know, it made it easier for me. You know,
- 42:27Speaker 5: a guy like Lebron I wasn't ready for that. He's
- 42:31Speaker 5: in shape, you know what I mean. Well, he's in
- 42:34Speaker 5: shape could play. So if you was out of shape
- 42:36Speaker 5: a little bit, you know it was gonna be hard.
- 42:39Speaker 1: And that's crazy because one of the first one of
- 42:41Speaker 1: his first games in the league was gets the Pacers.
- 42:43Speaker 1: How was that like the first time you got to see,
- 42:45Speaker 1: like play against him in person.
- 42:46Speaker 5: He gave me twenty five. I remember the day clearly.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Twenty five was a lot twenty five in my prome.
- 42:53Speaker 5: That was like thirty eight forty. And when he did that,
- 42:57Speaker 5: I was like, this kid, is nobody was scoring twenty five,
- 43:01Speaker 5: you know what I mean?
- 43:02Speaker 1: I was like, Wow, go in the game and telling
- 43:05Speaker 1: somebody that average twenty five that they're not getting twenty five?
- 43:09Speaker 3: You really going. He was like that, bro, he was
- 43:12Speaker 3: like that.
- 43:14Speaker 1: As we know, he's one of the people like even
- 43:17Speaker 1: we started to see it now with Steph like he's
- 43:19Speaker 1: getting celebration now, but was like, we we're gonna really
- 43:21Speaker 1: miss Broun, Like we we put so much pressure on
- 43:24Speaker 1: him and he overcame all that stuff. But it's just
- 43:26Speaker 1: like y'all don't know, like he came into the league
- 43:28Speaker 1: and has dominated every since. We've not seen somebody step
- 43:30Speaker 1: into the league and dominate all the way through.
- 43:33Speaker 4: All the way through.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Who was an underrated who was an underrated player? That
- 43:37Speaker 2: right spoke on them? People know that gave you buckers
- 43:40Speaker 2: that you.
- 43:41Speaker 4: Secretly true, It's like that's true true.
- 43:44Speaker 5: There's people that can you know, can say I scored
- 43:48Speaker 5: on you a lot too, but they wasn't super stuff. Yeah,
- 43:52Speaker 5: you know, I would say some people out of my position,
- 43:55Speaker 5: like a guy like Jamal Crawted, not really in my position.
- 43:57Speaker 5: I'm too sixty. You know, he's you know, but I
- 44:00Speaker 5: have to guard him sometimes. You know, that tough. That
- 44:04Speaker 5: was tough because he going this way. That's my two
- 44:07Speaker 5: sixty shift in this way, one shift the other way.
- 44:14Speaker 4: That's not easy. I gotta shift.
- 44:17Speaker 5: He got the ball string too, that was with a
- 44:21Speaker 5: jump up facts, So he was always tough, you know,
- 44:26Speaker 5: Rip Hamilton, But even even lower level guys like this
- 44:29Speaker 5: guy's like for Sean Lendy, I don't know if you know,
- 44:32Speaker 5: stupid clip we tapped in.
- 44:34Speaker 4: You know what I mean, Like guys like that nice
- 44:36Speaker 4: little bump fade.
- 44:38Speaker 3: He was nice. Okay, he could definitely shoot that.
- 44:40Speaker 4: Sure. Glenn Robinson big dog, big.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Dog was nice, bro definitely he Indiana dog. Nice.
- 44:49Speaker 1: But I got a story. We was playing against you,
- 44:51Speaker 1: was on the Knicks. You're a little older at this time,
- 44:53Speaker 1: and uh, I got the ball and the isolation. I
- 44:56Speaker 1: had you in an ice situation and I waved somebody off.
- 44:59Speaker 3: He said, what the fuck?
- 45:08Speaker 1: He was older when I went by lady, wasn't I
- 45:15Speaker 1: was like, that's he was.
- 45:17Speaker 4: When I was with you, was with the Knicks.
- 45:19Speaker 1: In Atlanta, he was a little older. Yeah, yeah, said
- 45:23Speaker 1: watch out. I was like Kyle was on the wing.
- 45:26Speaker 1: He came to cut and I was.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Like, watch yeah, rightfully.
- 45:30Speaker 4: So I.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Got nervous for a second and I went by you
- 45:35Speaker 1: and I kind of did a little layer and he
- 45:37Speaker 1: started he kind of like started laughing.
- 45:38Speaker 5: I was like, you know, I was still competing. I
- 45:41Speaker 5: didn't have it like I ended my career. But I
- 45:45Speaker 5: was with the with the Lakers playing at the Spurs
- 45:47Speaker 5: have Miniska surgery. Right, So I was supposed to be
- 45:49Speaker 5: out six weeks. I came back in five days, right,
- 45:53Speaker 5: So I go back in five days off miniska surgery.
- 45:56Speaker 5: Because it was our last season. Steve Nash was there,
- 46:00Speaker 5: Dwight Howell and Kobe just got hurt in Powers, so
- 46:03Speaker 5: I knew it was over and we we we just
- 46:05Speaker 5: limped into the playoffs, and I was like, this is
- 46:07Speaker 5: gonna be This is for sure the last time this
- 46:09Speaker 5: group was gonna be together. So I'm trying to play.
- 46:11Speaker 5: You're gonna try to win it. My mind set is
- 46:13Speaker 5: always winning. Now, it wasn't gonna happen Spur swept us,
- 46:16Speaker 5: but I wish I would have never did that.
- 46:18Speaker 4: That's that.
- 46:18Speaker 5: That pretty much ended my career. So when I got
- 46:20Speaker 5: to New York, you know, it was it was it was.
- 46:23Speaker 5: I was so happy to be in New York. So
- 46:25Speaker 5: my mind, We're gonna try to win it. You know,
- 46:28Speaker 5: I'm talking myself into like I'm locking people up, but
- 46:31Speaker 5: I didn't even.
- 46:32Speaker 4: That's what you heard.
- 46:33Speaker 5: You heard somebody I was trying to talk itself into it.
- 46:38Speaker 3: But I didn't have it.
- 46:42Speaker 1: I was like, I'm tripping back to the league with
- 46:49Speaker 1: no found. He started laughing.
- 46:52Speaker 4: I remember. I remember I was playing against Jeremy Grant.
- 46:56Speaker 5: There's two brothers, right, two of them from Philly.
- 46:59Speaker 4: He was in Philly that I went up for a layup.
- 47:02Speaker 4: He punched into my career. He's just punching. I'm like, damn,
- 47:05Speaker 4: I shit is over.
- 47:07Speaker 3: That was that moment.
- 47:08Speaker 4: I even been laughing, like, yo, I can't do it.
- 47:10Speaker 5: I'm trying. I got the rebound on right here. All
- 47:13Speaker 5: gotta do is lay it up. He jump get that
- 47:16Speaker 5: out of here. I'm like, damn, I shit over.
- 47:21Speaker 1: But that's a real realization, like you said, like especially
- 47:23Speaker 1: for athletes like y'all been hooping your whole life.
- 47:25Speaker 3: That's your job.
- 47:26Speaker 1: So then when you get to that point, you kind
- 47:27Speaker 1: of like, all right, I gotta start thinking about what's next,
- 47:30Speaker 1: think about what's Like even for you, you was just like,
- 47:32Speaker 1: all right.
- 47:33Speaker 3: I ain't about to be no bed on the bitch.
- 47:34Speaker 3: I gotta figure out what's next for sure? How is that?
- 47:37Speaker 1: Like, miss Like you said, like as far as talking
- 47:39Speaker 1: about your mental health and stuff like that, people don't understand, Like,
- 47:41Speaker 1: and I've learned being around him a lot more and
- 47:43Speaker 1: talking to other people is like as an athlete. That
- 47:46Speaker 1: is your job. But those jobs typically retire at thirty.
- 47:49Speaker 1: What do you do next? And a lot of people
- 47:51Speaker 1: have a hard time even getting to that question.
- 47:54Speaker 5: It's true, It's true. It was tough for me too.
- 47:56Speaker 5: I remember, you know, my last game is Stapleson. I
- 47:59Speaker 5: had a in the second half. I wasn't playing all season,
- 48:03Speaker 5: but I would play one on one against Jamal Brandy.
- 48:05Speaker 5: I was just trying to stay ready, right, So I
- 48:08Speaker 5: wasn't I was mentoring, I was working them out. I
- 48:10Speaker 5: was training Julius, so I was working them out, but
- 48:12Speaker 5: when he was playing, I was I was competing. So
- 48:14Speaker 5: I'm like, yo, yo, Brandy, let's get this one on one.
- 48:18Speaker 5: D Loo, let's get this one on one, Julius, Let's
- 48:20Speaker 5: get this.
- 48:21Speaker 4: One on one.
- 48:21Speaker 5: So I was trying to stay ready, you know. So
- 48:25Speaker 5: then my last game is Stable Center. I'm playing a lot.
- 48:27Speaker 5: I knew, I knew I was done. I kind of
- 48:29Speaker 5: figured that this is gonna be my last year. I
- 48:31Speaker 5: scored zero in the first half. I get eighteen the
- 48:33Speaker 5: second half. So now he's in Golden State. So I'm like,
- 48:36Speaker 5: I just had eighteen the.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Second half, and I felt I was really I was
- 48:39Speaker 4: still good I'm still alright.
- 48:41Speaker 5: So I'm like, I'm gonna get I'm gonna get fifteen
- 48:42Speaker 5: to night for sure. So the coach don't play me.
- 48:46Speaker 5: You know, it's my last game.
- 48:48Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 48:49Speaker 4: It's my last game. Yeah, I'm like, I played like
- 48:52Speaker 4: maybe ten minutes stuf like no way.
- 48:54Speaker 5: So I walk off the court. I ain't say nothing
- 48:57Speaker 5: to like, you know, the players, Steph Wandre was just heated.
- 49:00Speaker 4: So I walk up the court and stayed silent.
- 49:03Speaker 5: But I'm gonna just replaying my career in my head,
- 49:06Speaker 5: you know, and I'm grateful. I'm reminiscing. I'm like, what
- 49:11Speaker 5: a should have It was like so much we're playing.
- 49:14Speaker 4: Did have a great time on a plane ride home though.
- 49:17Speaker 4: It was my last plane ride.
- 49:18Speaker 5: So we got twisted forty five minutes, baby, we got
- 49:24Speaker 5: twisted at forty five minutes, me and Nick Young.
- 49:26Speaker 4: So the rookies like me and my god swaggy.
- 49:29Speaker 5: Right, so you know, they gave me one of the
- 49:31Speaker 5: greatest you know, playing rides home. You know what I mean,
- 49:34Speaker 5: because I was just like, you know, all the rookies
- 49:37Speaker 5: this day, they've been really cool. I wake up the
- 49:39Speaker 5: next day and I'm just super depressed and I'm like, damn,
- 49:43Speaker 5: what I'm gonna do? I know this is over right,
- 49:45Speaker 5: And then the next day I applied for school. Man,
- 49:47Speaker 5: I applied for school at UCLA. I was just replaying
- 49:50Speaker 5: everything in my head. And I like to make decisions quick.
- 49:53Speaker 5: I don't be I don't like to have time to wait.
- 49:54Speaker 5: So I was like, all right, I replayed everything. All right,
- 49:57Speaker 5: we were out here, you know, and that was tough,
- 50:01Speaker 5: even though it's what I'm doing to this day. Seven years,
- 50:03Speaker 5: eight years later, you know, I went back to school
- 50:06Speaker 5: for digital analytics, bitness analytics, coding, all the stuff that
- 50:10Speaker 5: we're with sports can affect the outcome of success, you know.
- 50:13Speaker 4: But it was.
- 50:14Speaker 5: About four years, you know, where I was like, damn,
- 50:17Speaker 5: this is tough.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Like I'm really not doing I'm not playing defense.
- 50:20Speaker 5: You know, I'm master defense, But how am I going
- 50:24Speaker 5: to master someone else where? So many people tell you can't,
- 50:27Speaker 5: you know, but I believe that if you put your
- 50:30Speaker 5: mind as an athlete, if you put your mind or something,
- 50:32Speaker 5: you know, you don't have to be in a box.
- 50:35Speaker 5: You know, just because you're not balling, you know, walking
- 50:37Speaker 5: like a ballplayer, you might not be walking like.
- 50:40Speaker 4: A ballplayer anymore. But you got someone else you bring
- 50:43Speaker 4: to the table.
- 50:44Speaker 5: You know you you're good because your passion you could
- 50:49Speaker 5: put You could have put your passion anywhere, absolutely, you
- 50:51Speaker 5: know what I mean. So when I said, okay, I'm
- 50:54Speaker 5: downside my life, you know, I'm not gonna I don't
- 50:56Speaker 5: want to be in the limelight. I'm gonna be content.
- 50:59Speaker 5: I'm a stricter. So that was that was my personal journey,
- 51:02Speaker 5: you know. And everybody got different jurneys, some people commentating,
- 51:05Speaker 5: some people coaching, but that those options not available for everybody.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Absolutely not.
- 51:09Speaker 4: You know, it's not everybody.
- 51:10Speaker 5: It's not available for everybody. So I didn't want to
- 51:12Speaker 5: leave that the chance. So I was an architect major
- 51:14Speaker 5: coming out of college with people people don't know, but damn,
- 51:17Speaker 5: you know. So my first major was architecture. I had
- 51:19Speaker 5: letters from Princeton. But I was also going through a lot,
- 51:22Speaker 5: you know what I mean. So I was like my
- 51:23Speaker 5: whole my mom was clouded. But when I when I said, damn,
- 51:27Speaker 5: I was an architect, I said I could do anything
- 51:30Speaker 5: I wanted to.
- 51:31Speaker 4: And when I'm thought.
- 51:32Speaker 5: About it, that's I said I would go back to school.
- 51:33Speaker 5: I'm gonna be comfortable. So I went back to school
- 51:35Speaker 5: and just did do what I had to do.
- 51:37Speaker 3: Good Shore, like you said that passion.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Like we got so many black entrepreneurs that don't come
- 51:41Speaker 1: from traditional backgrounds, but the things that they went through,
- 51:44Speaker 1: that adversity, it's easy to put it somewhere else because
- 51:47Speaker 1: you already went through so much Like now this is
- 51:49Speaker 1: kind of easy. I get to just use what I
- 51:50Speaker 1: already got to do what I want to do. Absolutely, man,
- 51:55Speaker 1: we appreciate you sliding, man. Please tell the people what
- 51:58Speaker 1: you got going on.
- 51:58Speaker 4: Man, Yo, mean, thanks for me.
- 52:00Speaker 5: You know, we love when they told me, nowtown find
- 52:05Speaker 5: intment on that, I'm like, Yo, I was.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Appreciate you.
- 52:11Speaker 5: I was like, you know, my family's here, so it's
- 52:15Speaker 5: definitely great to be here. We we love Indiana. But yeah,
- 52:18Speaker 5: so basically I'm just like raising the family. I'm coaching
- 52:22Speaker 5: girls as if. I'm a volunteer coach at Cal State
- 52:24Speaker 5: of LA. So I've been doing that for five been
- 52:26Speaker 5: coaching girls for nine years. I was coaching while I
- 52:29Speaker 5: was in the NBA. After practice, I was going to
- 52:31Speaker 5: coach my girls with the same coach. In the last
- 52:34Speaker 5: five years, we've been at Cal State of LA coaching
- 52:36Speaker 5: coaching women's basketball. Last year we went to the NCAA
- 52:40Speaker 5: Tournament for the first time in twelve years they do
- 52:43Speaker 5: and this year they had us ranked number one. We
- 52:45Speaker 5: had a rough start, but it's just incredible. It's my
- 52:48Speaker 5: favorite thing I'm doing, you know right now. But the businesses,
- 52:51Speaker 5: you know, I'm building my business, which is like, you know,
- 52:55Speaker 5: I have to do that. But you know, coaching girls
- 52:58Speaker 5: is coaching women's basketball is gre and you know, building
- 53:01Speaker 5: my agency is great and different things like that. But
- 53:04Speaker 5: other than that, I just want to say thanks for
- 53:06Speaker 5: having men.
- 53:07Speaker 1: I love seeing you back doing stuff with the Pacers
- 53:12Speaker 1: because we need that twenty three up. We gotta keep
- 53:14Speaker 1: it real. You want the most important players ever walking
- 53:16Speaker 1: them doors.
- 53:17Speaker 5: But I told I told the Pacers I want to
- 53:18Speaker 5: I want to see them win a title. We have
- 53:21Speaker 5: a different history that a lot of people don't hear
- 53:23Speaker 5: the conversations that between the individuals, you know, because it
- 53:27Speaker 5: was just a lot of wounds. That's that was what
- 53:29Speaker 5: I was open. That's being healed, you know from the
- 53:31Speaker 5: fans and the executives. But from that perspective, seeing a
- 53:35Speaker 5: ring come here in Indiana with me in the world,
- 53:38Speaker 5: that's what I want to see even though I'm definitely
- 53:41Speaker 5: laking for life, love for New York, definitely want to
- 53:43Speaker 5: see New York on one day too, But you know
- 53:46Speaker 5: that one coming ahead. When it comes, I'm gonna feel
- 53:49Speaker 5: like it's mine. And all the players feel the same way, Jamaine, everybody.
- 53:54Speaker 5: When that ring come here, we're gonna be just as
- 53:57Speaker 5: proud as if. We can't wait because we knew we
- 53:59Speaker 5: had the opportunity to bring it to the city, you know,
- 54:02Speaker 5: and we feel like that was our fault, that was
- 54:05Speaker 5: our bad. You know, Reggie don't got a ring. You know,
- 54:08Speaker 5: that was all bad. So we just can't wait till
- 54:11Speaker 5: this team just keep building. So you know, we're supporting
- 54:13Speaker 5: the Cases all day.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Look, we appreciate you, man, Life Share subscribe all that
- 54:18Speaker 1: good ship. Will be back next week Club for our
- 54:20Speaker 1: twenty
