- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: I love you Cleveland and I love you Ohio and a very pleasant welcome to this week's version the Thursday version of the big play Cleveland show live on YouTube brought to you by our good friends at fandom
- 0:16[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, I'm Bruce Drenner along with Matt Fontana and Ryan Tyler, great to have you with us this week.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be having a lot on our platter starting with the Guardians.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk a little bit about the NBA draft and the Cavs, certainly the wrap up to the United States open, always good to have you with us and Matt good to see you partner.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: Lot on the platter today.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, you know, I think it'd be happier tidings with the Guardians, you know, with what their situation is, but we're certainly getting into that.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of basketball this week, just a lot of interesting things with the Yanish trade, the fallout for that, Jalen Brown, you know, it's all there.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of weird that there's not really Brown's conversations doing, I'm kidding, cause they're always there and they're kind of sometimes made up, but that's where we're at here.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: So it's gonna be fun, it's gonna be a good week.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Right, right and try man, get us started.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I should probably unmute myself.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to lie.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, everybody.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to get this show started.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Tons on the plate, Bruce.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: How do we not start with Dark Cleveland Guardians?
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Guardians escaped Chicago narrowly avoided that sweet Bruce.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: But now the Guardians of White socks are tied at top that AL central, I guess my question for you to kick things off here is avoided the sweet, but Bruce, after watching that series, which team do you think has the lead figuratively to go ahead and win this AL central at this point?
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm not going to waver at all.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: I still think the guardians are the team to beat with a defending champions.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: We've always found a way to get this done.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: Last year was miraculous.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: One of the most historic comebacks in baseball history or all of sports for that matter.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: As a result, vote winning his second consecutive manager of the year award deservingly.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: The white sucks are a great story.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let's not let's not to mean that in any way or form.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean for goodness sakes They have 41 wins Already this season that equals the 41 wins
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: in their entire twenty twenty four campaign they had a hundred and twenty one losses is recently as two seasons ago um they're twenty one and five and their last six games now twenty one and six following last night's lost two or yesterday after no one's lost two the guardians um they have already won this series with the first two victories of the three games set so they've won nine
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: But why am I still not a believer?
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, Matt, I'll throw it to you.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: Let's not discount Minnesota yet.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: No, they're kind of scary because I actually think there's a world minnesota is more talented than the guardians and the white socks.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think the guardians, when the young guys are here in healthy, they're right there.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: The white socks, I mean, I'm not going to watch three games in June and sit there and say I know everything about the white socks, but I was not overly impressed with them in this series.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: They're kind of like the guardians.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: They just kind of piece it together.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: They've got some young guys.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: that are in there and they've battled injuries certainly for the white socks as well.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm with you Bruce.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's 100% still a guardians to rule.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: How about this?
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: Can I throw something at you guys?
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: I know strength of schedule gets talked a lot about in football, and it gets talked about and sometimes basketball.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: But just strictly today, tank a thong updates their strength of schedule every day for the teams that you have remaining and their current record.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Bruce, the Guardians have the easiest strength of schedule in baseball, the rest of the way out.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: They have 81 games to go.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: The combined win percentage of those teams that we face for 69.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: one or something funny.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: The white socks have the second easiest schedule.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: The rest of the way their opponents are four 78.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: So the two easiest schedules on the way out are us in the white socks.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: We both have to play the Rockies.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: We still get the angels one more time.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: Our own division.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: which is a very weak division.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, we both play the Met's three more times.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a hard thing, cause like the Met's are got awful, but they still have talent.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: They could batter us for three games and see how it goes.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: So the every major league team, you cannot, they're major league teams for a reason.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: And nobody can be taken for granted.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: I certainly, I made a statement, was it last week or recently, saying that the guardians have absolutely
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I've certainly made a lot of errors in my career a lot more than you guys because I'm old enough to be your grandfather.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm working out a pretty good list of you're still feeling that you're looking older since you had that, you know, oh, that's it was going to be they age me faster than you know, but you know what, let's look at the American leak.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, particularly the West Seattle is leading as we go into today's action.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: One game above 500.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_02]: Houston, who everybody says is going to be a seller coming up here at the break.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't buy that.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: They're 39 and 43, but they're only two and a half games behind Seattle.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: The athletics playing in these minor league parks, only two and a half games out.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: Taxis, only two and a half games out, and we know how when they get hot, few years, couple years ago when they want it all.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, you know, and he's okay, the Yankees and Tampa Bay, but after that, you don't know about Toronto Baltimore and Boston, I think are definitely out of it, but Toronto's still breathing.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe I was wrong on that, that's the wild card will not come out of our division.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_02]: What do you guys think?
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: No, right now the Guardian's have a two and a half game lead on the third wild cards.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember there's three wild cards now?
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: So Tampa has a six game lead, then it's also two and a half.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: Toronto has the last one.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the interesting thing, Bruce.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's then five teams within two games of the third wild card spot.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Astros, athletics and ranges are all just a game back.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: The Orioles and the twins are only two games back.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: You want to win your division.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: The wild card and I know that's what baseball wants.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: That last week can be so much fun where you got two teams fight for one spot, three teams fighting for two spots.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they want.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think it is going to shape up.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: that the second team in the East, whether it be the Yankees or the Rays, they'll clinch the wild card with like a week and a half to go, where it will be like they can only fight for the division.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: The other one's going to be the number one wild card.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think those two second wild card spots two and three.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: that's going to be the same thing if there's a fight for the central who's going to get it right and then maybe who's going to fight out west but at this point yet you're locked in for two out of the east i think we're pretty close to saying you're going to get a second one out of the central and then you'll probably get another one out of the west maybe maybe three out of the
- 7:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's really hot again.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: You never know like what the Guardian did a year ago.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's actually gonna be more fascinating I think in the national league where you've got a lot more teams above the 500 mark.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously at Lanhamville Walky and the Dodgers are running away with their divisions, but Certainly St. Louis's in the mix.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: The Cubs are in the mix.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: Philadelphia looks like they're gonna be in the playoffs.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: Miami and
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: Washington are having Cinderella years just like the white sucks.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: They've got as good a record as the white sucks to hear in the American League.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: Who would have in his name predicted that that would be the ace that Miami and Washington Nationals would be in the mix and certainly San Diego's got a very good shot and so to Arizona.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: But here back with with art, American League and the Central Division, I've changed my tune on this because everybody's knocking everybody off.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and the problem is that you're just going to have those bottom feeders, you know, like you said, the red socks, the angels, the royals, and the thing is these teams at this pointer, only five games out of a wild card, like they still believe that they can make it and get back in, but as the summer goes and especially as the trade deadline comes, you're going to have this just separation between the teams that are fighting for it, and the teams that are going to be in the tank.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I know baseball wants to fight that all the sports want to fight that off of teams that just they just basically give up made way through the season, but you're going to have that and I think the issue is I think you're going to have more teams in the American league that are done by time we turn to August first.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's good for the guardians in a way, but the national league, I'm with you, Bruce.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's going to be more teams that are going to be competitive and trying to fight for it.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to get your thoughts on this, too, because one thing watching that series.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a white socks famed by instruction imagination they don't bother me as much as like Detroit like just as the rivalry goes Bruce.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: I was happy to see that ballpark full for a couple of games.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I know it's been like you said a couple really rough years on the south side of Chicago for the white socks and it's been some lean times seeing that ballpark pretty full there for that day game.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: I only got delayed, but when they finally started going I'm happy to see that I'm happy to see that growing up in Chicago.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: there's no question there are many more cubs fans share than white socks fans and i was in our side or so i was a cubs fan even though they stunk i mean early banks was my hero and uh... i'd go to a game at riggly field in the summer time when it was all day ball before they got the lights and they play mill walky braves who had air and adcock a brute in uh... any math to use and you know banks would hit two home runs and the cubs would lose twelve to nine because
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: the braze would be pounding out homers or stand a man using it with the cardinals, etc.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: I will say this though.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: The white socks fan base is incredibly loyal.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I compare it to.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_02]: hockey fans.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: There aren't nearly as many hockey fans in the NHL cities and NBA cities as there are NBA fans.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: But those NHL fans are incredibly loyal.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: to their teams and to their sport and that's the way the white socks fans are in Chicago.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not surprised now that they're having this Cinderella season that they're turning out because they are one of the biggest talking points in all the baseball.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and it's funny to think about the Guardians too because the Aels Central, I mean, I'm going to shoot from the hip your boots, but I think compared to the other divisions in the American League,
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: the else central turns over so much except the guardians like the twins up right back to oh tigers oh it right back down like there's just the other four teams in our division if you to told me two years ago that the royals would be in fourth place in our division I'm sorry dead last in our division right now right
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: I would have never believed that what's Bobby D throw out all the time that outside of the Dodgers were the winnings when he's teams and all of baseball like the last, I don't know how many years.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Decay plus I think you know something like that and even go back to the world series right Dodgers are the only team where he above the Yankees.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah because it the consistency is incredible and like you said the playoff runs year after year.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: the central is the one and like we've we had a down year we finished fourth was a couple years ago like when Terry was getting out here and all that right but it's just the other four teams just kind of it's it's almost like the guardians of the center of the A.L.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: Central University everybody else is well that's right I'm not a panicking we're not even at the hands of the army so yeah let's see what happens and we're going to get whole say back yeah and gal we're gonna get back by the way how about this kid wants to
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was just going to bring up Cleo Watson.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: I said, if anything, nobody wants these guys to be heard.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: But Bruce, imagine the confidence that he's rolling with now, that you can, their baby, they damn well, better keep him up whenever the water comes back.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, they will.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: But like, add that into when these guys come back.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't it incredible?
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: Think of this.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: We have been known.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: We just said we're one of the winningest teams outside of the Dodgers and all of baseball for these X, X amount of years.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't it incredible that we've had this reputation of being a pitching factory?
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: And we have been, I mean, look at the success of the franchise considering the restraints economically, and it's because of pitching, but now look at the makeup of this team.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: the water, bazana, uh, uh, if this kid Watson bring brought up, even going to the, uh, uh, uh, the rokey, uh, um, all these kids that have been brought up, and there's still kids in the miners that are, you know, angles, so a prospect we haven't even seen yet.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: Rolfing that for now.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't even seen him yet.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, uh, a, a, a, a, a, a cup of coffee.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_02]: Um, they're not giving up.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: Man, so I don't know if it's another one.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's just in his second full season.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: So it's really incredible how they are bringing up these position players and they're getting their feet wet.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: They still have to improve.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: There's no question.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: We can all agree on that.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, let's also keep it this in mind.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: is the toughest individual thing in all of sports, because if a quarterback has a 30% completion rate, he's fired, if a shooter in the NBA, 30% he's done.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: If a goalie in hockey is only saving 30% of the shots, he's out.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: But if a hitter in baseball is only at 30% success rate, not only is he an all star, he might be a Hall of Famer.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: And you see that with the gap of like Nolan Jones when he gets sent down to the miners and he's raken.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's goes, yeah, that's the difference.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like I know Bo Nailer is working hard on his swing, trying to get back up.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like there is that difference.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, the hitters is funny, Bruce, because Ryan and I were talking about it before the show, that the Guardians had this kind of unfortunate streak of
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: of hitters that left the organization and like early comments going to be an all start now he had other stops and now he's doing really well in Toronto people talk about yandee ds junior caminero like there's other guys that got shipped off before they even came to the majors that never turned out because you know like you said they were so picture dominant i don't even know if they really knew how to develop hitters for a long time and i think there was a little shift in the organization say we need to get this
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: to where it needs to be and you're starting to see some of the fruits of that labor I think with some of these guys going again, it's wrought talent everybody new chase voters going to be able to hit when he got drafted, you know, Bazana, you know, there's a lot of conversations out people on the world looking at cards, look what Jack Hagley owns doing like could have taken those guys like I get it.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, fine, Vazana, even at this point has shown he can play he's a player and he Look at this kid looks good.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: He plays out.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: He is a beautiful young talent.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the baseball savvy instinct I think he's gonna be a superstar.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I I'll be shocked if he isn't he's that good
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and in the global.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: Come along.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: I was probably one of the big questions by him and you know, we'll see.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't want to give up on breedow.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: Breedow's been a true.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: Finally, Hitler.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: And, and it's been injury plagued.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: And when he came up for his cup of coffee, he didn't excel.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: And certainly he needs work defensively if they could just find another position for him.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: But no, you're right.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_02]: And.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: Even going back to the 90s, we had no room for Richie Saxon, you know, that power laden team that we had.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: We had so many guys that we dealt off.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, my goodness, Brian Giles is a perfect example.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: Look at how well he did after he left the organization.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it is a transition that has come about here in this season considering what a pitching factory we have been.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: Ryan, try man.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I wanted to get your guys opinion on Kate Smith yesterday because watching the game gives up the home run and I had this eerie feeling I'm like, oh no, it's going to be one of those ones.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, there's blown saves and then there's what feels like season defining blown saves.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: And if that would have transpired and the Guardians would have gotten swept, it kind of felt like one of those Bruce, where do you stand on Kate Smith?
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: Are you a little bit worried about the usage?
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: I understand your big fan of Kate Smith of his stuff.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: I am as well.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: Let me answer that by talking about all the greatest closures of all time, Raleigh Fingers, Smith of the Cubs, I mean, Goose Gossage, you can go on and on and on through, and John Smoltz who made the transition from starter to reliever and loads of the few closures that would work out of a windup provided there wasn't anybody, you know, on base.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I'm not going to go there, it's a long season, it's a think of this, I've said this before I'll say it again.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: We lost arguably the best closer in baseball and classy because of his stupidity with the gambling.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: And here we have Kate Smith and have a Mr.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: Beat.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: And he's right there amongst the leaders for saves.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: And so we had a bad outing.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you can't, and you know, isn't it funny?
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: I've never been able to figure this out and you can't get an explanation from a manager.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: How many times do we see closers that come in when it's not a safe situation?
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: And they're not nearly the same picture as they are.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I would assume if they're thrown off their rhythm.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's one of the things Ryan to your point about the usage.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's hard for Kate Smith.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: I remember how it wasn't Chris, it might have been Andrew Miller or Cody Allen that spoke about this where they go, we had to change how we approached the day because like bullpen guys for those that don't know, they don't always go out to the bullpen and the first thing.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: They hang on the clubhouse and then the fifth inning.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: They walk out there, not all of them.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what I'm saying?
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they have a setup where like Cody Elm would talk.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was him.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: He loved Red Bull.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: So he's like, I don't know.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, that was, um, oh, Joe Smith.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Smith, remember?
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: And he was, I knew I drank my Red Bull.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: Because I knew I was going to go in here or like, I think that's what's going on with Cade.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: If it was, hey, you're pitching every ninth inning.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: you can build up to it and be ready to go, it kind of throws him off.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Bruce, it was what?
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's third blown save in quotations, because the one on Tuesday, like he's surrounded the lead and then they ended up losing.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess, blown, say, other than that, he blew a save in April in April.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: So he's gone pretty much two four months, three full months, not blown a save.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm fine.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's hard.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_02]: And how about, baby, everybody said, Oh, God, what's wrong with,
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you got three guys messing Gavin and Bobby to start playoff series.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's perfect.

- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: Great to have you with us.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks so much.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_02]: Got to talk about the draft.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: Caves trading out with that 29th pick, part of that financial, but also a good anticipation by Colby Altman.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let me bounce this off of you because obviously Malik Thomas was considered a guy that could very easily have gone in the first round and here they may have this shooter from Arkansas.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know what's funny, Bruce, is I had him in my mock draft going 29th to the calves.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_04]: So, while the mock draft was wrong, the guy was right and according to Kobe Altman, you know, they got a second round or first rounder in the second round.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_04]: So, this is the guy that they had their eyes set on, you know, in their range and he just happened
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: Sam, what do you make of Colby Alman's comment that a lot of people are picking up on where he goes?
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: And the second round, you can't really draft for fit, or, you know, you're basically trying to make the best talent.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: And Emily Thomas is one of the best shooters, 6-3 guard, you know, we have guards kind of fitting in.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: But what did you make of Colby Alman's comments, and then in turn, how much do you, or what do you think, Emily Thomas fits on this calves team?
- 22:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, first of all, I'm in agreement with him in the NBA you can never draft really for fit because you don't know what a prospect's going to be like in the NBA, you know, that the years and years and years ago, the Portland Trailblazers passed up Michael Jordan because they already had a shooting guard, you know, so I think that you draft a player based on his skill level and
- 22:27[SPEAKER_04]: then you kind of sort it out in camp.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_04]: You're looking at a guy who's a long shot to play a lot anyway, even if he were seven foot because they're coarse pretty much in place, depending on what they do in free agency and trades and all that stuff, their bench players are pretty much in place.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_04]: So you're drafting a guy based on we think he has the highest upside of any player
- 22:57[SPEAKER_04]: And if he's really good, then we'll sort it out later.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_04]: So I do think, you know, listen, they have a lot of guards, a lot of back court players at the moment.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_04]: His odds of playing on this roster as it is are probably very minimal as anybody who picked 34th would have been regardless of position.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_04]: But I've seen the kid twice.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_04]: I actually saw a play Arkansas twice.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_04]: and he will shoot it.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to put it up, at least he did an Arkansas where I was kind of like come on kid, pass the ball.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, if he can, they're going to try to turn him into kind of a backup point guard situation and going to see how he fares playing and running some point
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: What's the big picture, Sam?
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: We weren't anticipating anything monumental in this draft, obviously, because of the record and the regular season and where we stood with that 29th pick.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: But the bigger picture is what we're all looking at.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: The apron has got to be considered money, obviously, is the problem.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: There's some talk about a three-teen deal with Boston.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yannis is now gone.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: He's out of the picture.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: There were some rumors about him earlier.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: What is your take on what the calves are going to, we're not going to stand pat with what we've got that has failed.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: Not during the regular season, but in the playoffs, and obviously the ultimate goal is to get back to the championship.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'd be surprised if they stood pat, you know, we hear the talk that James Harden's gonna resign on a two-year deal, which would be a win-win because he gets two years guaranteed, which now he only has partial guarantee going in a next season.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_04]: But in turn, if he signs a two-year deal, that's going to give the cap some flexibility finally, prove them down under the second apron based on his contract.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_04]: And then you can make other moves around the edges.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_04]: I'd be surprised if they made a splash, but it's also Kobe Altman.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_04]: And I mean, he always tries to do that.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_04]: He's one of the guys in the NBA that is always going to try to make a splash if it benefits them.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_04]: So could they get in the jail and brown trade talks?
- 25:26[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely, you know, but I wouldn't say that this is something that they
- 25:32[SPEAKER_04]: are going to, you know, definitely do.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_04]: But I think that they're going to at least explore around the edges with the max juices, dentists, rotors, some of these other guys around the edges of the roster to see if they can't find more fit.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_04]: They got to figure out what to do with team weight, who's an unrestricted pre-aging, key out Ellis unrestricted pre-aging.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_04]: You know, is there some side and trade opportunities there?
- 26:01[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure it'll all be explored.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Sam, you mentioned him.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm putting you on the spot for this one.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_04]: Guys.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: Which of these two, and you got to pick one?
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: Even if it's 0.001% chance, which of these two would be more likely to end up in Cleveland, LeBron James or Jalen Brown?
- 26:24[SPEAKER_04]: I would say a slight edge to Lebron James.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_04]: He's been negotiating with the Lakers because you're free to negotiate with your own free agents and we've seen these other guys sign, like Austin Reeves and Kobe White from the Hornets just signed a day.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_04]: I think if things were going well with the Lakers, he would have signed already.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_04]: That's not to say they're going terrible, but I think that he's leaving that option out there
- 26:54[SPEAKER_04]: And I could foresee jail and brown too are really good.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_04]: They're not going to trade down if it's Mitchell the calves, but I could see a world where they would get involved with jail and brown, but if I had to take a guess at which ones more likely, I would definitely say well, Brown, just because of his ties to the area and the fact that
- 27:16[SPEAKER_04]: frankly, be the perfect fit.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I mean, they need a small forward.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_04]: He'd be the perfect fit.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll explore that a little more here in a minute, Sam.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_02]: But I've got two questions for you.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: I simply want a yes or no.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'll let you explain your reasoning.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
- 27:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Jared Allen, be a calf next season.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_04]: I believe he will all right.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: I said yes or no apparently.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, okay.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_02]: Just pretend this is law and order and I'm, you know, yes, you're on.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_04]: I'm terrible on the stand by the way.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: We'll haven't mobly be a calf next season.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: Explain.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: You said yes to both.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I think that.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_04]: In order to trade those guys, excuse me, you have to really make a, you have to make a splash.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: If you said Mitchell, but you said Mitchell's going to stay and hard if they extras, so the four was, how can they get LeBron James of those four are going to stay?
- 28:15[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I think the possibility exists that you could trade.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know that that you'd want to do this.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_04]: If you trade Jared Allen and a Max Struce or somebody for LeBron James,
- 28:28[SPEAKER_04]: does that really, really move the needle or doesn't just get you excited.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_04]: Now, if you trade Jared Allen for LeBron James, you know, obviously you've got a hole there in the middle.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_04]: If that creates enough room for you to do that, then you'd have to sign somebody.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think Evan Mowgli is a true center and I don't think he wants to play center
- 28:58[SPEAKER_04]: You'd have a hole there, and they would have to figure that out.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_04]: And that would be a very big.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_04]: You're trading one problem for another if you make that trade.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_04]: And I think they realize that recognize that.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_04]: And you might just be getting a little brown for one year.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_04]: What if he leaves, you've traded Jared Allen.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_04]: You don't win a championship.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_04]: You don't get out of the Eastern Conference Finals.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_04]: They suddenly become really, really, really bad defensively with 42-year-old LeBron James, not of initial James Harden, who's protecting the basket other than Evan Maudley.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_04]: I think you're just trading one problem for another.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_04]: So, I think if LeBron wants to come, you've got to find other avenues or hope he'll pull a Michael Jordan with the wizards and common play for
- 29:52[SPEAKER_04]: You know, the mid-level exception or whatever.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_04]: I'd be very, very hesitant to trade Jared out.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's you, Burris.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: Sam, this conversation I was having with somebody this week about watching the Yannis trade where he didn't go to Boston and I said, that's a huge win for the calves.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the best thing of this off season.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a believer that that makes Miami a legitimate title contender.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: I still think they're like play in maybe mid-level of making the playoffs five seeds something like that.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: We know the nicks are going to have their own contract restraints.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I know Jalen Brunson's not due for a contract till next summer.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess just under the idea that the cabs just stay pat and they just they run back this core.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you, you know, ancillary trade kind of on the periphery, Wade, Ellis, whatever whatever.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: Is that enough, just to sit there and say we are going to run this back because we think everybody else got worse if Boston does trade jail and brown.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what they'll get back for them, but I don't think that's going to make them better.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yanis not going to Boston is a huge win for the calves.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: I just, you know, you know, you know, I'm saying like, it's almost like the calves got better by doing nothing.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: You think that's that that's a case for the calves this off season.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, you know, listen, we get worked up.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_04]: kind of don't do what we view as enough.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_04]: Do the cats have to make some moves as absolutely.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_04]: There's no question about that.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_04]: But you look at the New York mix, brand it, they change coaches.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_04]: But they kept it together every year.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_04]: They kept getting balanced in the playoffs.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_04]: And their fans were going nuts.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_04]: Like, what are we doing?
- 31:27[SPEAKER_04]: We're not making any moves.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_04]: Do something.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_04]: They did nothing.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_04]: They changed coaches, okay, that's a little bit.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_04]: But beyond that, they did nothing.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_04]: The Indiana Pacers two years ago, people were like, well, they can't, they can't keep this roster together, they can't keep carlyle, they keep getting beat out for playoffs, and they came within a game in one game a half of winning a championship two seasons ago.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_04]: The Oklahoma City Thunder, they went out, got reinforcements, you know, and then they kept getting bounced in the playoffs, and they went out, got Alex Puruso and I say a hard to see.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_04]: I think that that's something the calves need to explore first.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_04]: is going out and getting reinforcements, getting tougher, both Caruso and Hartstein, tough guys, right?
- 32:14[SPEAKER_04]: Those are the kind of guys the calves need.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_04]: Can they do that?
- 32:18[SPEAKER_04]: That will be a lot easier for them than making some huge splashy trade that all of a sudden, and I'm not saying this is a terrible thing, kind of disrupts the locker room a little bit.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_04]: You bring in a personality say in jail and brown,
- 32:35[SPEAKER_04]: not necessarily beloved by his teammates, whereas Donovan Mitchell really is a lot.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he falls on the sword, takes a blame all the time and gives everybody else credit.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_04]: Jalen Brown's not that guy.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_04]: So I think that your first order of business to me is, what can we get from extras?
- 32:56[SPEAKER_04]: What can we get for Dean Wade in the side of the trade?
- 32:59[SPEAKER_04]: What can we up, how do we upgrade the backup point
- 33:03[SPEAKER_04]: Um, you know, I think all of those things need to be sought first.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think you can run it back one through 12.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_04]: No, but I think you can bring back your core for and build around them.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_04]: with experienced veteran guys who have been there before and try to win that.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_02]: But haven't they been doing that?
- 33:24[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we've had three years in a row of the core four as you call them with the difference now, Garland is gone and Harden is in.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: And that didn't work either.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: So you keep changing the rest of the 12 man used to this core four hasn't cut it.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_04]: you bring up an incredibly valid point brews.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_04]: That's very fair.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that, you know, again, do you trust that this is going to work if you put the right guys around them?
- 33:55[SPEAKER_04]: I guess we'll find that out during the off season.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of people would say no around these four guys.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_04]: Now you did have,
- 34:03[SPEAKER_04]: I give it cobe opens defense.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_04]: We all thought beyond Ray Hunter a couple years ago was the answer right I mean 3 and D guy you got him for nothing from the Atlanta Hawks Two guys and George Nagan carousel birth of the Hawks like go at the end of the year and and everybody thought that was the move I know I sure did I was like well they got their 3 and D small forward.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_04]: That didn't work out.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_04]: I think that had less to do with the calves than I did with the Andre Hunter.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_04]: So you moved him for two guys in Schroeder.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_04]: Now, if you thought, okay, this is what they need some some additional toughness.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_04]: Didn't pay it out, really.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_04]: You know, and so to your point, Bruce, and the hardened Garland deal.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_04]: I, you know, listen, that that
- 34:49[SPEAKER_04]: I think I'm still okay with that because Darius turned the ball over all the time too, which just he was going to do it with a calf for a lot longer because he's younger.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: So, and he's always hurt.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_04]: Right, always.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he's never playing.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_04]: So I, I get what you're saying.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_04]: I think that you bring up a fair point.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_04]: And I do think that they are not.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'm going to say no to every possibility when it comes to potentially trading one of those players I don't think they want to trade down of in Mitchell at all.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_04]: Because then you're starting from the top right there all over right.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_04]: I'd they seem to be very intent on keeping mobile.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_04]: But I think that's the one guy if you're going to make a huge splash and get a jail and brown or something Yeah, that's the guy you're going to have to move.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_04]: Will they be open to that potential?
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: The problem with that Sam is the the projections of him when he first came when he was going to be another Kevin Garnat and he's not even close to that.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_04]: No, not even close.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_04]: 9.1 rebound against the pistons and the playoffs Yeah, no, that's that's you, you know, and I think he said his ceiling.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_04]: I really do
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: A year from now Sam, we more likely to be praising Colby Altman or criticizing him for not making moves this off of you.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to stay optimistic and say, there will be praise.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_04]: All right, I like it.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_04]: I think there's moves out there to be made.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_04]: And he certainly always tries to make his blast.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_04]: He's slid in there with God of in Mitchell, right?
- 36:25[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe he'll do that again.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: He was under a lot of heat several years ago.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: I've always supported Altman.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: He tries his darkest.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll never fault him for that.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: Ryan, chime in.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: Sam, I need your help, my friend, and we're gonna hit the rewind button because we can't just brush over that You think Evan Mobiley has hit his ceiling because that's where I was gonna go with this Evan Mobiley a couple years ago people and Bruce you mentioned you heard a Kevin Garnet comp Where are you at with Evan Mobiley because I've been promised this Uber development over the last couple of years people have compared him to
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: Joel and bead, you mentioned a stretch.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: One of those big guys, I'm not seeing it.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: And people say, well, Yannis was skinny early on.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: He had to grow into his body, and Evan Mobiley's still young.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: You think Evan Mobiley's hit his ceiling already?
- 37:11[SPEAKER_04]: I do.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_04]: I hope I'm wrong, but I do.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_04]: I think this is the player you're always going to see.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_04]: Listen, the stats aside, he wasn't the player this season that he was the season before, right?
- 37:24[SPEAKER_04]: Defense of player the year two years ago, two seasons ago.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_04]: was the cap's kind of had him in a Kenny Accusin had him in a Dreyman green roll where he was getting the defensive rebound and bringing the ball up and creating the offensive self this past season not very good at that couldn't trust them with the ball when he was getting the rebounds and bringing it up.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_04]: I kept thinking get it to a guard two years ago I didn't see that.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_04]: So to me he regressed just slightly still a really nice player still very good
- 37:57[SPEAKER_04]: but not the all-star that the every year all-star that everybody expected him to be.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that, you know, we've had, he's had several coaches down, J.B. Bicker staff, and that concern.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_04]: And the results have kind of been the same.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_04]: When Actics at first came, Bob Lee was dynamite, and there are games where he is dynamite, and he's important defensively.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_04]: He took a step back.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_04]: in both of those areas.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_04]: And when you do that with as long as he's been in the NBA, it's not like he's 18, 19, 20, 21 years old.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's get to the point now where it's like he is what he is.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_04]: And that's what I believe he is, is what we've seen.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_04]: Now, maybe based on history, he has a really good year every other year.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_04]: So maybe this is his year to do that.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, right.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_04]: I think, and that's the problem, Bruce, did you got a flip of going with the guy?
- 38:56[SPEAKER_04]: And I think he has the potential for greatness, right?
- 39:00[SPEAKER_04]: But I just don't see the consistency.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: Does he want to be great?
- 39:07[SPEAKER_04]: I, you know, I don't know.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's looking into his heart, nobody can do it.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, I think that's a valid question.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, championship players, they want it.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_04]: I have not seen that, that doesn't mean he doesn't have it, I just haven't seen it nearly enough.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not saying he's just going out there and going through the motions because I think he plays hard, but there are nights where it's like his mobile even out there and that's not what you want from a guy who you thought was going to help change the course of your franchise.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_04]: If Evan mobile lived up to the expectations at this point they would have
- 39:53[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I know they're always going to sing his praises and show you the analytics and blah, blah, blah, there's some truth to that, but there's also the simple I test and I just think there are games where he has great, great moments, but is he a great player?
- 40:13[SPEAKER_04]: He's really good.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_04]: He's he's good.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_04]: But he's not taking you to another level at this point in his career.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_04]: You've got to find somebody else around him to do that.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: Great stuff, Sam.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: We really appreciate it.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be watching it ready to go for the Cav season.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: Coming up.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: We'll check you out on Hoopswires.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks, Sam.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks, Sam.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_04]: All right, guys.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for having me.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_04]: We'll talk to you soon.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's the great Sam Amiko.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: Some good-surning things.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: I love Sam's optimism, but there's certainly some questions surrounding the Cavs.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: We go through the off-season.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: We'll football.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk a little football.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: Coming up.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're right here on the Big Play Cleveland show.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: Matt Fontaine here for my friends at Physicians, ambulance, folks.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: They're hiring right now.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: If you're an EMT or a pyramid.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: Stadium.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's going on in a jail jail is a jelly roll?
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's post-mode.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Post-mode.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Who else are you coming with?
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh gosh.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, man.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's somebody else.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to annoy me.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: Hang on.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: Post-mode.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Cleveland.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: It is jelly roll.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: What a duo.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: Are we sure about that?
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: I set that aside because you know, it was gonna be over there.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: Physicians ambulance there.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: They're for every single event at Brockett Arena at Huntington Bank Field all over Northeast Ohio.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: And that is what they provide a lot of.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: They do so much great work.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: They do emergency transports.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: They do skilled patient transports.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oregon transports when an Oregon comes right here to Berk Lake Front Airports to go save a life at one of our great hospitals of Northeast Ohio.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: physician's ambulance a part of that, but they also do a lot of event medicine for the games for the concerts for the events around Northeast Ohio for the July'll be here.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: They'll be all over and that just tells you how busy they are at physicians ambulance.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: When you apply there and if you're lucky enough to work there, you'll be a part of what they're building.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what they've been doing.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: I've known Jason over a decade now.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: I've known physician's ambulance over a decade now.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: And it's always building, building, building, they're adding on, but it never changes who they are.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: They treat their employees like family, because it is a family-run organization at physicians' ambulance manager.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: They have your back investing continuous education, advanced care capabilities.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: They got it all for it.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: They're hiring physicians' ambulance.com, headquartered here in Bruxville, all over Northeast Ohio, they're in Columbus.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: go to their Facebook or their LinkedIn or their website physiciansamelines.com.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: Apply today, help continue to set the standard at physiciansamelines.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're all on with a big, big, big Cleveland show.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: Right here on YouTube.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_02]: All right, the big, play Cleveland show continues.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: Bruce Drennan, Ryan Titan, of course, Matt Fontana.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_02]: We shift our attention now to the Brendan Sorsby decision by the NFL to not conduct a supplemental draft.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: uh... let me just throw it out at you two guys uh... is this fair or uh... is this undo uh... punishment
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's fair.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: The NFL wants to set a precedent.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: They can argue about precedent about what other players do if you saw the, uh, uh, tearing out Arnold situation this morning.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that?
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so they're going to have to deal with that.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: They've had obviously guys like to Sean Watson.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: They've had other situations that have happened.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: The gambling things were the inner draw of line.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I think more than anything Bruce.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I don't want to give.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: I usually don't try to give the NFL too much credit here.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I understand where they're coming from.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're saying we don't want to be viewed as a fallback.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: Brennan Swordsby messed up.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: Clostom is NCAA eligibility.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want to be seen as some savior of just all just runs in the NFL then.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I kind of get where they're coming from for that standpoint.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: I talked a lot about this with Josh on our show yesterday.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: about the integrity of the game, but also just Josh spoke so well about, if you don't love football, football's not the number one thing in your life, then you're not going to make it.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to work and the integrity of the shield and protecting the game and all that.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's important.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: And if we want to sit down and watch games on Sunday and not have to worry about if it's fixed and not like that's that's what's going to happen.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: I like this.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: The NFL's all about gambling, money, not about gambling, headline.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: And they, they, my think wanted to make an example.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry to burn the source, but you got to be the exampleist plus like the other thing.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: Let's call for what it is.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: He gets to go one of the draft next year.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: They, they sit there and be like, nope, never again.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: You're never coming here ever again.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: You got kicked out of college.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't go in the draft this year.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: And we will see you by the way.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: We just got the dates for Washington and the draft next year came out this morning.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like April 29th, we'll see you there.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: So he can play in Europe, maybe he can play flex football, right?
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: Canadian?
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: So, so he can 80 and a half.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go
- 44:56[SPEAKER_00]: From the ruling of the NFL, you get punished more for gambling than you do for domestic violence.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_00]: I understand why because of the integrity, not saying one is worse than the other.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously one is worse than the other.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_00]: Bruce, my question to you is this, by the NFL making Brennan source be a pariah.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_00]: Is this really going to stop these kids from gambling?
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: Because I made the kind of similarity to Matt yesterday with other shows.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like drinking and smoking with these young guys.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's how common it's become.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well again, they've opened up a can of worms by allowing gambling and it's all because of the cash like we just said no I don't think it will stop it and unfortunately you have situations like you manual class say in Ortiz in baseball with our team unfortunately And I still can't figure it on a class case case because he was already making mega millions But even if you have relatives who you're trying to help in your native country
- 45:47[SPEAKER_02]: You still have enough money to take care of them without having to do things illegally.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't get it.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_02]: But here's the other thing.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: Now that this decision has come down, this means money for sourcebees lawyers.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_03]: Because they're going to benefit.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to definitely battle the CBA.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_02]: And they could prolong this.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and the thing is the NFL, this...
- 46:10[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, let me tell you a little rule about the NFL because this is come up to like, all, we'll see if he fights this or just signs the fridge, you can't do that.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot do that.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot answer the NFL without being a draftable player for 99.9% of players.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's when they go through the world.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: regular NFL draft.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: And as long as you are eligible for that draft, you sign your paperwork and you are an entrance in that draft, whether you go first overall, your Mr. irrelevant or you go undrafted.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: You're now into the NFL.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: There's a small number of guys that go through the supplemental draft.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: because the other thing and it's a great example.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: When you see these guys that get signed from the UFL or the Canadian football league and they make it out and they come back to the NFL, those players were already draft eligible.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: If there's somebody that like,
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, is from Saskatoon, Canada, and he's playing Canadian football league, and he's never gone through a draft in the NFL.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: He can't come play in the NFL.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to enter a draft at some point.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: So, Sorsby, if he can't go through the supplemental, which at this point, I don't see there's any way they're going to get this done in time, then he's just going to have to wait till next April.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if you're the NFL, even in court to sit there and argue, there's three things that are stopping him from getting into the NFL, pick which one of we're going
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: We don't feel like there's enough to do a supplemental drive because what did that a fell sappers?
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's not enough time for these team to investigate him right no team's gonna put this in Without actually knowing what happened or doing their research.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_01]: There's not enough time for that and then the final part of it is He broke a major rule now didn't not in the NFL per se, but he broke a rule enough that we feel like we don't want to do this
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, some people feel that this undo punishment because he's prevented from playing college ball one more year of eligibility in college And now the supplemental decision has come down by the NFL have to college situation.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: There were Nebraska and other schools were boycott Yeah, we're not going to schedule Texas Tech then any
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: I saw people trying to go, well, he would have played this season, you know, they're saying basically his lawyers gave him bad advice to leave and go on in the supplemental And they should have kept taking their fight to the NCAA and I was like, what world do you live in?
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: There was no chance
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: Zero that he was going to play for Texas Tech this year even if they drug this through the summer mark my words Sometime in August Texas Tech would finally wake up and go, you know what we're not going through this anymore because again They would have just made nobody was going to play them.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: They'd have been sued the money There was no way he's playing college football this year.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's only shot was to make it to the NFL The NFL said no, thank you.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see him in a bit
- 48:54[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, did you see the decision that came down in college about five years.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I love your bill.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I love it.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: I love it a lot too.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's basically this is past and I think there's one more thing that has to pass or maybe not even.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: You get five years from either when you enroll in college or the year after you turn 19, you get five years to play five years of college football, softball,
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: wrestling, soccer, whatever you do, you hit that five year.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: Bye.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: No more injunctions.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: No more of this crap.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: And more needs to be done.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: They have to curtail the NIL money.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the transfer portal as well.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: Some of these kids have already put one of the four five different schools in this duration of time.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's ludicrous.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they're going down to the 10 day or I think one of the proposals was to cut the window down even more, but the problem with the window is it's still while the college football playoff is going on.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's, uh, it's, oh gosh, it's like right after the Roseballs, right after the January first games, and everybody goes, why don't you just wait till after the national championship, because that's one of the problems the teams in the final four or in the national championship,
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: this kids, I'm out of here, wait, we got to go start talking to this kid about N.A.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: All my what why they just can't push it back a couple of weeks.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand it.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_02]: Are you for the expanding to 2014?
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: No, I hate it.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: I ask you.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: I really go back down.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: I want less Bruce these teams that make it you and I and everybody knows this.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: They don't deserve to make it.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: James Madison, I'm sorry you're gonna get smoked.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's a great point, Matt.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: However, isn't this, isn't this the remedy to allow a James Madison at a too lame to get in without the controversy that we experienced this last year with Notre Dame getting totally screwed?
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, here's the solution.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_01]: You have got to call this for what it is and separate the power four and the group of four.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I know the FCS is usually what's viewed of the bowl system and then the championship, right?
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: The FCS is like, you know, North Dakota State, or by the way is coming to FBS.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, call for what it is.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: The Big Ten, the SEC, the ACC, and the Big Twelve.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody else.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's Notre Dame.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: And Notre Dame, sure.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: And Notre Dame.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: All these Mac schools, all these WAC schools.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: Just go play for another championship.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_01]: Go go to the FCS.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_01]: Go play for that.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you there.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_02]: But the Stein Brecker's of the world, the commissioner of the Mac and those...
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I was a Mac and I feel dirty and wrong for crap on the bubble.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the real.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the real.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the real.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the real.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the real.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the real.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the real.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the real.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm the real.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm the real.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: Not in football.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: Not in football.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'll listen to basketball.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'll listen to basketball.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: It can't have basketball, but has George Mason has gotten two.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: Mason the actor.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: George Mason has gotten to the final four.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_02]: But.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_02]: where has gotten to the final four, but they don't win it now.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: But Ken has, has, has, has, and I know this is different Indiana isn't some, one football.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_00]: They were a Shlob school, but you know what I mean.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_00]: Did that change your view on that at all?
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: Ken in the era of NIL.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_02]: Do that for a program from Cuban.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: Because Cuban went to Indiana.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, she's nobody knew by the way, but like he came until the government does it from California and got all these other studs and I guess like the argument there would be like Maryland Who has always been and has been the worst team in the big ten if you put them up against Toledo The rockets might actually win that game.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I get where you're seeing so that's where and you can't do it because the conferences have too much money Are you worried about it messing up the importance of the regular season?
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: because I think that's what everybody's got to tell you on the regular seasons dead anyway.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_00]: They're getting rid of college.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're getting rid of the championship.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: They're getting rid of the conference championships.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: They don't give a dip.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_00]: Here's where your savers going to be.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: You have no reason not to schedule Texas.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I interviewed Bill Hancock when he was head of the committee several times and he constantly said,
- 53:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's to get the best two teams, best four teams, best integrity of your picking the best teams, and we have the most significant important regular season of any sport pro or amateur, so-called amateur.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: And he was right, but that's no longer the case.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: it's not and it's going to be hard for them to put that genie back in the bottle and find the right answer to it.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we got to recap the U.S. open.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: It was a lot of fun to watch when them Clark almost choked it away.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get a thoughts on that with Jimmy Hamlin coming up.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_01]: You could step off a step off the sidelines and in a football's biggest weekend with VIP access from genie.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's access.

- 54:55[SPEAKER_03]: or see how you buddy.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_02]: Good.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you know, after all these years, my favorite, most everybody says the masters is their favorite not me.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's the West Open because I like to see pros like you humbled and
- 55:10[SPEAKER_02]: flustered like the rest of us hackers with this tremendously popular game of golf.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_02]: What Windom Park did puts him in distinct, distinct category, Jimmy, two-time U.S. open winner.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_02]: Some of the others would,
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, carry middle cough, um, but the multiple winners been hooking one four Bobby Jones one four Nicholas one four Tiger one three and Halo one one three in three different decades he never won another major, but he won the U.S. open.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_02]: There's something special about winning the U.S. open and this is Clark second.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: Bruce, it appears Jimmy has dropped from his car now trying to actively join back with wi-fi in five minutes.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_01]: Well, in Bruce, off of the US open, I think there's always, that's why I love the majors.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_01]: There's something special about the US open, you know, like Mike Davis, he goes, that's our championship, you know, it's like, it is the United and the same thing with the British, oh, the open championship, the open, you know, the champion golfer of the year.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_02]: They're arrogant to say that it's
- 56:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I love the I love the US open because the way they set the course up, you know, I love the British because of the link style golf course But there's something about even as you were talking about it much like the British watching Tom Watson and what there guys It's just no how to play that there just guys that just know how to play those types of courses and you know I'm sure we'll talk to Jimmy about it just on
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: What sets up?
- 56:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, driving accuracy is always clutching.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_01]: You can't be playing out of that rough.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_01]: We saw a thousand times at Shenecock.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like you've got to be in the fairway, but it's it is the small stuff about the game.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_01]: Why did wind him Clark when the U.S. opened?
- 57:06[SPEAKER_00]: He was putting like a mad man.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: Those eight to ten photos that you and I are staying in over eye.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_01]: I can't hit it similar.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: Those are for par.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's not those are birdies to say there's are par saving puts ask any pro that is what wins tournaments is when you hit minimum You know medium length par puts to keep your round going I'm sure we'll get into a conversation about when I'm Clark or he would fan, but we'll talk about that But like for him he wanted he deserved to win and he had that huge lead I think we're all you know hoping for drama on Sunday.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: We got it, but he held on
- 57:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and you mentioned a British open course, it links course.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_02]: This was like a links course.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_02]: The aerial shots were so unique and there go trees.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: There's one pond or one pond.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_02]: No trees and it looked like a British open course, but what also intrigued me is like every green was like a pyramid because if they didn't hit it high enough up, I'm through the green.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_02]: It would roll back from the fall.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_02]: I do whatever.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_02]: Then if they tried to compensate and get it all the way to top because over,
- 58:06[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite thing was watching when Kizner was on the broadcast and as soon as it would land he'd go Uh-oh, you know, because you knew you like he didn't get it where he needed it to and you could see Yes, the change of the color on the green and you knew like uh-oh, you know more cow I hit one and as soon as the land a Kizner goes, that's not staying there.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way that's staying there
- 58:24[SPEAKER_02]: true US open course, and that only three were under par, which is really a tribute to the US GA for setting it up with the severity that they did.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_02]: How about the fact that the live guys didn't make it to Shambal?
- 58:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, wrong.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_02]: Did not make the cut.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think, you know, to Shambal more
- 58:52[SPEAKER_01]: I just think it's golf you know I go on playing the weekend.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like that escape right and we just enjoy playing these guys They're professionals when they're headspace and right they're done they're cooked and I think with everything going out I'd be sitting there nervous like what the hell's gonna go on with my career can I get out of live?
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I, I, I thought they're, well, you're one of the one that showed up was Dustin Johnson there for like a minute and then he had us to tell some double bogey right for a ride.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think we have Jimmy back.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_02]: Is that right Ryan?
- 59:21[SPEAKER_02]: Should be.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_02]: So it, it wind him park.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_02]: Jimmy, you heard the lead up into it, taking away.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know what I think with wind them guys, you know, he's not a fan favorite.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we could do a whole show on what happened with the fans there at Chin and cock in in Long Island.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_03]: But at the end of the day, he's a very solid player Bruce that probably should have more wins than he does, but he can't get out of his own headed times, right?
- 59:51[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I mean, I, you know, I've never, it reminded me Bruce who didn't come.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, after the thought after as he was on the golf course, I think it was the third or fourth round.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_03]: They were interviewing.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_03]: his sports psychologist, right?
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_03]: And, and, and, and, and, and, and her talking about how he Dave worked on his mental capacity on the golf course and getting him where he needs to be in all that kind of stuff.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_03]: So, hey, look, I'm literally was watching that interview go to my watching the movie 10 Cup right now.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we cost the guys the guys the mentally talented, you know, and it times he's able to get in the right head space.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what he did at Chinacock and he held on well, um,
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_02]: Before we got you back on Jimmy, Matt had made a conglies butt by the big fan of Wyndon Clark.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_02]: I want to make a statement.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_02]: The fans, the gallery, mostly were New York City dwellers.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_02]: They took the train to Long Island, and they booed.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_02]: Wyndon Clark's Good Shots out loud.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_02]: They cheered when he made a bad shot or he missed a pun.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_02]: They showed how classless they truly, truly are.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_02]: Goff is a game of integrity and class.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_02]: And this proves how classless these New Yorkers are.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_02]: And let me go a step further.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_02]: When the Clark is made mistakes, he's admitted his mistakes.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_02]: Last year at Oakmont, we all know about it.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_02]: Who amongst those New Yorkers has not made a mistake?
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, they make a mistake every time they vote!
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_02]: They vote for socialism and communism.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_02]: And they have an ecotistical ego where they criticize, they think they're intellectually superior to the rest of us, they're classless jerks.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_02]: And when, do you know that they left after the end of the tournament?
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_02]: If you watched the acceptance speech by Clark, most of those jerk New Yorkers had already departed.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: and he was gracious and eloquent and apologetic and humorous and he deserves all the credit in the world no matter whether you love him or not, you don't act like those classless new workers.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_03]: Well, and I'll tell you, Bruce, from what I see the world of golf, I wouldn't even almost call it New Yorkers.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_03]: It's Long Island, right?
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_03]: Like we've had events in the state of New York before they've had great success with people acting normal on the golf course.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's really in the Long Island area over there, everywhere they have this issue,
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they might have cost them, so listen, the P.G.A.
- 1:02:53[SPEAKER_03]: America has to take a really hard look in 2030 or whether we're going to come there.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Jimmy chopping up to chime in.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_03]: If they do, you know, you're going to have.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I guess.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_03]: Game type of thing, you don't.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, here's my, okay, Bruce.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, when you talk about when, when that's what you're going to get, if, you know,
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and like I guess here's my take on wind them Clark and and you know Jimmy Keneer or we'll tie way here.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_01]: Number one You make a noise at a golf tournament.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_01]: You should get thrown out.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to hear it.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have I'm glad they throw them all out throw them all out.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_01]: I there's nothing that bothers me more than they hit the one above a boo like get out take the ticket away from home.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_01]: The parking lot shut the hell up.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's number one.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_01]: Number two
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really like Wyndham Clark.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_01]: I would never, in a million years, boo, a shot for a guy, ever.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm, I'm sitting at a cab's game.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm at the Brown Steelers game.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to boo the Steelers game.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's different.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_01]: Golf is a different sport.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't make a word.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_01]: Good for him winning.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_01]: The thing is, and I got into this, somebody else social media about this.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, oh, you don't like him because the oakmont thing.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I go, that actually isn't really on my radar with it.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get so he destroyed the locker room who cares he paid for it.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_01]: There's just something about him, I don't like.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's just something how he comes off.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the thing.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like Patrick Reed either.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody, oh, Captain America.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like Patrick Reed.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like any of the live guys.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's how it broke.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_01]: He came back.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_01]: I like Brooks.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_00]: But like Bruce is my thing.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's what makes it fun.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_01]: I like watching golf because there's guys I really hard for and there's guys I don't want to see right?
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_01]: Am I sitting at the course, booing him, am I sitting my living room, booing him?
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, he won.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_01]: But that's what makes sport fun is when there's people you're rooting for and there's people you're rooting against Again, it's just there's something out when I'm Clark.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, and you know the one guy came out and here's the thing when Clark's a really nice guy They're doing all this PR to try to help him out.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody knew about him donating a bunch of money.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like there was a DM somebody had he reached out to this This donation center.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_01]: Can I give you a bunch of Polos that I wore on PGA tour of you didn't have to do that?
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_01]: He sounds like it a really nice guy
- 1:05:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, something about him.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what it is.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like whatever, and it's to trust me.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't care.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and that's he doesn't care.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_01]: But then I'll edge that.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's, and I know he's got to do some some repairing.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's a part of me.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_01]: It goes, dude, go all in on the heel.
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_01]: Be the heel.
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't make mistakes.
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_02]: Have a nice year.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_02]: We are.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_02]: Have we lost Jimmy Ryan?
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we're still trying to connect.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he was all chopped up there.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, let's talk about Sheffler.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody thought that Sheffler would be the guy that would make the run at Clark, who was seven undergoing into the final round on Sunday.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a turned-out Sheffler had problems which in the cock, like everybody else did.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_02]: And it turns out that his burns came out of, yeah, burns was really, really good.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I think for the future, watch out for burns.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna win a major.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know when, I don't know where, like Sam Burr, somebody, oh, I should have saved this list for you, Bruce, I'd love to run in three of you.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_01]: There's a golf thing on this, I was looking at it, and he said, after this tournament, take out anybody that's already ever won a major, and he put it in in three categories.
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_01]: Gonna win one.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and most likely never going to win one.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_01]: The group that he thought, Sam Burns, Cam's Cam Young, I got to pull the list up, but watching that, I was, I think Sam Burns is totally going to win one.
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_01]: He put Tommy sleep.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_01]: He put Tommy Fleetwood in that second group of like, I don't know, Tommy's running out.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's over good and win one.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_01]: He put Oberg in the Gunna win one.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_01]: That guy did, I don't know if I buy that.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't either.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't either.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's just, he proves he can do it.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, how do you pick Oberg?
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and the thing is, and he's a super talented, we all know that.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he is super talented.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_01]: And with the new format, which is a whole another show, we could do about the PGA tour change is coming starting in 2028.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna start, I think preparing some of these guys better because the new format, when you're in that top tier,
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_01]: you're playing a borderline major field every not every week but for all the events they're trying to get rid of the signature events and what's our matter in our time but like I think if it's going to help prepare some of those guys but it still comes down to what golf course management some of these guys don't have that and that's where I think again wind them Clark playing his tough of course that is with some of the shots he had hit there recovery shots the putting I mean there was only that's what one of the tournament I
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and you made a great point earlier about making those tester power.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah He did what he had to do and I think he won the tournament on number 16 When he hit the ball and that deep fest queue and you couldn't even see the ball How he muscled that that ball odd and these amnoxious New Yorkers
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_02]: Cheering that he went into that fescue and he must I don't know how he was able to with his strength To muscle that over that trap get it in position to so he can make an approach shot and then He had an extremely difficult pot.
- 1:08:05[SPEAKER_02]: It was an up and down pot and it that's where he pumped that fist when he made that birdy That's where he won the tournament and it's interesting too that the next toll he he bokeh
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_02]: and still was able to come back on 18 and make that fabulous long put or he had to tap into winner.
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_02]: We've got Jimmy back.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_02]: Jimmy chime in on this.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, I think well, I'm going to go backwards a little bit.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_03]: I've been able to hear you guys the whole time.
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_03]: The one guy that I disagree with a lot is over.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_03]: Don't forget he just turned 24 years old, right?
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_03]: So he's really young, right?
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_03]: He started on tour it.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_03]: 20 21.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_03]: So this kid's going to win a major.
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_03]: He just he just he should still be barely out of college right now right the other guy so it's it's quite you know Sam Burns as you guys talked about right there Sam Burns like when you start to become the bridesmaid a lot it's it gets in your head right and and I think he definitely thought
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_03]: he was going to win last year and I think he definitely thought he was going to win this year at some point and that starts to grind on you a little bit Bruce back in a day when you and I used to do radio a lot together.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_03]: We used to talk about this with Phil Nicholson remember when he couldn't you know he couldn't win that major you know he couldn't get over the hump and then he got over the hump and he won you know he won multiple right kind of things that would be interesting that would be interesting.
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think of what do you think of Mac on Roy?
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, remember that same thing.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_02]: No, but I mean, yeah, and it's tournament.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_02]: Once you think of him fading away.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you know, I think Rory Bruce, I think he gets, he's either very not, right?
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_03]: And I think you could tell very early in the week, whether his focus is there or not.
- 1:09:52[SPEAKER_03]: And this week, it seemed like, you know, round one good, right, was in it a little bit, then when it started going a little south, he had no grinding in Bruce, no grinding at all.
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_03]: It was like, yeah, and I feel like that's Rory, like when he's not,
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_03]: fully engaged he doesn't he doesn't have any grind to him to keep him in an event like that where a guy like Scotty even when he doesn't have his game he grinds it out and he finishes in the top 10 every time right Rory's either wins or or finishes 25th right because he just doesn't have it it's kind of disappointing because some of what that kind of talent they should be able to win with their member we've talked about Tiger could win with his B-minus game well Rory never does because he doesn't he doesn't stay
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_01]: Jimmy, when you think about Shinakaqu where a lot of people are starting to push now for the U.S. Open, to just kind of go down to eight or nine courses, a little bit like the British open, maybe have extra, like play pebble every five years and then rotate like Mary in, Beth Paige and all that.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_01]: Do you like that?
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_01]: Do you like them going back to Shinakaqu so quick or do you think they should open it up even more for the U.S. Open?
- 1:11:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think we just lost them again.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_01]: It was such a good question.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what he was such a good question.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_02]: Bruce, I will ask you that.
- 1:11:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad in a way because I didn't want to respond to that.
- 1:11:12[SPEAKER_02]: Please.
- 1:11:13[SPEAKER_02]: I like the fact that they, first of all,
- 1:11:16[SPEAKER_02]: We have the greatest public and private golf courses on the planet in this country.
- 1:11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:11:22[SPEAKER_02]: And so I, and they can, and the USGA can fix these courses up for two of the standards of a US open where we only have one, two, three guys, maybe under power.
- 1:11:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I like exposing us to all these different courses rather than the regimented rotation that the British open does.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_02]: We've got Jimmy back, respond to this, Jimmy.
- 1:11:45[SPEAKER_02]: Can we get him?
- 1:11:46[SPEAKER_02]: Tom, we did.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_02]: I thought we had him.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_02]: I guess not.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_01]: We'll catch him in the next time.
- 1:11:52[SPEAKER_01]: We'll catch him.
- 1:11:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, and that's because they're going to be, that's what he gets for driving into a car and send a fly.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's a busy man.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's all right.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's trying to give me a T-time too.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be over there.
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I knew the promise Bruce, like Chambers Bay, the everybody hated that.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody hated that.
- 1:12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_01]: And it was their first step kind of going out for a little bit and it didn't go well.
- 1:12:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you've seen it kind of turned back around.
- 1:12:15[SPEAKER_01]: So here's where we're at for the next.
- 1:12:18[SPEAKER_01]: out cheese.
- 1:12:18[SPEAKER_01]: I have like the next 10 US opens.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_01]: They're obviously a pebble next year.
- 1:12:23[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:12:23[SPEAKER_01]: Then they go to wingfoot.
- 1:12:25[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:12:25[SPEAKER_02]: That's a great course to pinehurst number two.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_01]: Marion Riviera.
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Back to pebble back to
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, they are really the country look the the first one like out of that the country club in Massachusetts is one it is in 2038 and then they go back to the LA club in 2030 by the way I hate to I hate to award New York with another one, but I'm surprised I don't have Beth page in there I'm surprised you and this is thing outside of Riviera.
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_01]: I was gonna say like outside of Pebble.
- 1:13:04[SPEAKER_01]: They're not going
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_01]: west of Chicago in any of these, but they have Riviera and 2031 in them, pebble.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_01]: But a lot of like two of them are in PA, Oakmont, Marion, right back there, back to Pinehurst.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, the only one on this list that Riviera's only hosted one other U.S. Open.
- 1:13:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then L.A. Country clubs hosted in 2023.
- 1:13:26[SPEAKER_01]: Bruce, all the rest of them were seven, eight.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and obviously they're going to be at Inverness in 2045.
- 1:13:31[SPEAKER_02]: And the British isn't Royal Burke Day all I believe this year.
- 1:13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Which is coming up in a few weeks.

- 1:14:50[SPEAKER_00]: right already guys but we're getting to that point in the MLBCs and trade deadline approaches certainly talking about that I want to get your guys kind of thoughts on the most surprising disappointing teams up to the point in this season and of course we're going to start with the disappointments I don't think any bigger three than the Boston Red Sox in New York Metz and Detroit Tigers will open the floor to you guys which is more excuse me which front office deserves the most criticism right now is it Boston New York or Detroit.
- 1:15:13[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the Mets have had a history of spending as much money as the Yankees or the Dodgers and they just keep failing.
- 1:15:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's amazing.
- 1:15:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's tough to be a Mets fan in New York, especially with the Yankees success.
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_02]: But then again, what was it that last time the Yankees were in the World Series?
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_02]: Spend all that money.
- 1:15:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's not necessarily a guarantee that you're going to have the ultimate success of getting to the World Series, let alone winning it.
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_02]: But I would think that the Boston fans have got to be... Yeah, I mean about that too.
- 1:15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, again, meds just because of like, I know one soda was hitting well, but there's videos and him not even running out rounders like the leaders, the problem with the meds is their leadership, their leadership is just terrible from the bull, you know, the dugout to the front office, but yeah, I'm with you on Boston, and the thing is like, the Boston is so interesting to me, because like,
- 1:16:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Jill and Doran, or Gerand Doran, they should have probably traded them they didn't, but Raphaella is a really good player, like Wilson Contreras is batting too 80.
- 1:16:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they've got good players.
- 1:16:15[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't understand it about where Boston has been so bad, but I think definitely the answer has got to be the match with their disappointment 100%.
- 1:16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Out of the disappointing team's Bruce is Houston the one that you have the most faith in turning this thing around.
- 1:16:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yeah, I don't think there's any question, because we pointed out in our first segment when we were talking baseball.
- 1:16:35[SPEAKER_02]: Heck, there's just a few games out of first place.
- 1:16:38[SPEAKER_02]: What three and a half, I think.
- 1:16:39[SPEAKER_02]: So absolutely.
- 1:16:41[SPEAKER_02]: And they're starting to get healthy too.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_02]: hobbyers back, they get some of those pictures back.
- 1:16:46[SPEAKER_02]: He might seem to be settling into the American pastime after all those successful seasons in Japan.
- 1:16:54[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I think Houston without a doubt.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:16:57[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's talk surprises now, guys.
- 1:16:59[SPEAKER_00]: Which team has been the most surprising throughout this season?
- 1:17:01[SPEAKER_00]: Bruce, I give you credit because you said it.
- 1:17:03[SPEAKER_00]: Tampa Bay keeps surprising people 44 and 33.
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_00]: The Marlins above 500.
- 1:17:08[SPEAKER_00]: and Washington and Washington and Bruce.
- 1:17:10[SPEAKER_00]: I know you love these fans over there.
- 1:17:11[SPEAKER_00]: The St. Louis Cardinals 42 and 36.
- 1:17:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and this was supposed to be a rebuilding year for them.
- 1:17:17[SPEAKER_02]: Those are definitely the most loyal fans and the best fan base of any team in the major leagues.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_02]: and look at the size of that market, our Cleveland market is larger than the St. Louis market.
- 1:17:28[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, give them all the credit in the world.
- 1:17:30[SPEAKER_02]: The question is, can they last, Libertors, was our opening day starter?
- 1:17:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's really struggled with late, but destiny almost had a no hit or so, we'll see.
- 1:17:40[SPEAKER_00]: Alrighty, let's end it here.
- 1:17:40[SPEAKER_00]: We got a comment for you guys.
- 1:17:42[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the Guardians need more at this moment?
- 1:17:44[SPEAKER_00]: Is it bullpen help or a right-handed stick?
- 1:17:47[SPEAKER_00]: stick.
- 1:17:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think in the right hand, it's stick.
- 1:17:49[SPEAKER_02]: And we are going to get Jose back and to a lot, or eventually with Martinez, but I would agree.
- 1:17:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's the bad.
- 1:17:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's just the bad is going to give more relief to everybody else.
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think better not.
- 1:18:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's all the time we have for this week's version of Big Play Cleveland Show.
- 1:18:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I hope you enjoyed it.
