- 0:11Speaker 1: I did some Manscaping on my chest today So did
- 0:16Speaker 1: I You told us in the group chat Why Is
- 0:20Speaker 1: there not a solve for like oh it's itchy after
- 0:22Speaker 1: I didn't go you know there's still hair there I
- 0:24Speaker 1: didn't go full It's.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Just irritated because it stimulated.
- 0:28Speaker 3: The skin It's so annoying You got to exfoliate. Afterwards.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Because when you exfoliate afterwards, because it generates some, you know,
- 0:35Speaker 4: heat on the skin.
- 0:36Speaker 2: You got to like release that.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I don't think it's that. I think it's the white
- 0:39Speaker 3: tank top shirt underneath. Oh, it's just prickly enough?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Just short enough?
- 0:43Speaker 5: Oh, you went.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I didn't go that short.
- 0:45Speaker 2: What number on the gauge did you go?
- 0:46Speaker 3: Like a two. Oh, I just cleaned it up. Because
- 0:49Speaker 3: it was starting to pop over the top of the shirt.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Getting a little tough. I saw that. Yeah, I noticed that.
- 0:53Speaker 3: You saw that yesterday? I was like, oof. I saw
- 0:56Speaker 3: you clocking it. That's why I did it. I found
- 0:57Speaker 3: a white hair. Where? But you have your imagination. I
- 1:02Speaker 3: don't want to.
- 1:02Speaker 2: How'd you feel about it?
- 1:05Speaker 3: I felt wise. For the first time in your life?
- 1:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: He's like, it's officially happened.
- 1:13Speaker 3: It's happened.
- 1:14Speaker 2: That's good for you.
- 1:15Speaker 3: It's funny we both manscaped on the same day. What
- 1:18Speaker 3: are the odds? You said that like so proud or something.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Or is it the fact that you're probably both going
- 1:25Speaker 4: to see your better halves tomorrow?
- 1:27Speaker 3: It's got nothing to do with that, Kevin.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Just throwing it out there. It's been a week. Maybe
- 1:33Speaker 2: on tour.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I'm actually a professional runner now.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Oh, okay. It makes me swim faster. Here's the thing.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I don't actually care about that.
- 1:42Speaker 6: No.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Of course I care about that. I don't care about
- 1:45Speaker 1: trimming my thing. What's trimming your thing? It's psychological. Because
- 1:49Speaker 1: I need a haircut. This shit is getting puffy.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's puff-tastic.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I think it looks great.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Problem two is that I washed my hair a couple
- 1:57Speaker 1: days ago. How often do you wash your hair?
- 1:59Speaker 3: Three times a week.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I mean, like shampoo condition or just shampoo?
- 2:02Speaker 3: I condition every day. I wash my hair three times.
- 2:06Speaker 3: You condition every day, but you shampoo?
- 2:08Speaker 7: Yes.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Is that weird?
- 2:11Speaker 2: No, maybe that's the trick.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Curly hair people, all my curly hair people out there,
- 2:15Speaker 3: you get it. Maybe that's what it was.
- 2:16Speaker 1: You got to wash less with shampoo if you have
- 2:19Speaker 1: curly hair. Texture stays in, it's nice. But you got
- 2:22Speaker 1: to condition because it gets a nice scent in there,
- 2:24Speaker 1: softens there. Problem is I washed and it's too puffy
- 2:28Speaker 1: and it's driving me nuts.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I think it looks great, but your hair is your hair, bro.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I'm also just ready for a change.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Are you going to shave your head?
- 2:38Speaker 6: No.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Oh, hold on.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I'm not going to shave my head.
- 2:43Speaker 8: That's what the fans would say. Certain fans with your
- 2:45Speaker 8: curly hair, they'd be like, no! Just by you even
- 2:48Speaker 8: thinking about it. And then there's certain fans that are like, oh,
- 2:50Speaker 8: he wants to shave his head?
- 2:53Speaker 3: Bought a ticket. Yeah, it's signaling solo era when I
- 2:56Speaker 3: do that. All right, we're in the middle of a tour. Yeah,
- 2:59Speaker 3: why don't you pump the brakes, bro? We got a
- 3:00Speaker 3: whole album to release. Yeah, true. Thanks.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And I have a movie to shoot in January where
- 3:05Speaker 1: I play a rom-com lead. I gotta have hair for that.
- 3:08Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 3:09Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 3:09Speaker 3: They haven't told me yet. We did, however, cast my co-star.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Can't say who. Very exciting. Who is it? Can't say who.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I know who. Well, tell me, and then we'll bleep
- 3:19Speaker 3: the name contractually.
- 3:21Speaker 2: It's me.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I'm the co-star. Let me just say this. It's gonna
- 3:26Speaker 3: be good. It's gonna.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You're getting the tea here at the Hey Jonas podcast.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's voicemail time. Voicemails are presented by Hyundai. Make everyday
- 3:40Speaker 1: epic in the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid.
- 3:42Speaker 8: FYI, guys, every time you leave a voicemail, you are
- 3:45Speaker 8: automatically entered to win a trip to Los Angeles to
- 3:48Speaker 8: see our show at the Hollywood Bowl.
- 3:49Speaker 3: How cool is that? Wow, yes.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Thanks to Hyundai.
- 3:52Speaker 4: We will fly you in hotel and box seats for
- 3:55Speaker 4: our show.
- 3:55Speaker 3: At the Hollywood Bowl. It's the Burn It Up Tour
- 3:57Speaker 3: all over again.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Voicemail number one, roll them.
- 4:00Speaker 6: Hi, Janice Brothers. I am a 32-year-old mother of two.
- 4:06Speaker 7: 32?
- 4:06Speaker 2: Congratulations.
- 4:07Speaker 6: Baby mom, and I love hearing about choosing baby names
- 4:12Speaker 6: and choosing names. So I was wondering how all of
- 4:14Speaker 6: you guys choose the names of your daughters because they're
- 4:18Speaker 6: all beautiful and wonderful and unique. I just want to
- 4:21Speaker 6: hear about how they came about. Thank you so much.
- 4:24Speaker 6: Love you all. Been a Janus Brothers fan for over
- 4:28Speaker 6: a decade.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Love the accent.
- 4:30Speaker 6: More than that at this point. Anyways, thank you. Love you.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Love the podcast.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Thanks for your question.
- 4:35Speaker 7: Love that.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Great question.
- 4:36Speaker 8: Right off the bat, I'll tell you what not to
- 4:38Speaker 8: do because you're going to pick your name.
- 4:41Speaker 3: You got to keep that tight. You got to keep
- 4:44Speaker 3: those names tight.
- 4:45Speaker 8: You can't be going around telling people because my experience,
- 4:49Speaker 8: I won't say names, certain people, I'd be like, oh,
- 4:52Speaker 8: we're thinking about this name. And they were like, oh,
- 4:55Speaker 8: I hated someone in high school with that name.
- 4:58Speaker 3: And then you just can't get it out of your head.
- 5:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 1: That's a good point. That goes with anything, though. Don't
- 5:03Speaker 1: talk about a thing until it's done. You know, don't
- 5:06Speaker 1: talk about baby name until you've named the baby. The name.
- 5:11Speaker 3: You kind of said it like Tony. Don't talk about
- 5:13Speaker 3: the name. I'm in a set. I'm in a matching pinstripe.
- 5:17Speaker 2: You're in a suit and a set.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Ours was pretty simple because it's just Priyanka's mother's middle name, Malti,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and our mom's middle name, Marie.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Malti.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Marie.
- 5:28Speaker 4: I don't remember where Alina came from or Valentina really,
- 5:32Speaker 4: but I do remember that I wanted it to be Adelina.
- 5:36Speaker 2: At Alina.
- 5:37Speaker 4: At Alina. Just to be the one spicier difference.
- 5:39Speaker 3: And I lost that battle. I'm glad you did. Me too.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Danielle wanted to name Alina Rose.
- 5:44Speaker 3: She's going to be like, at Alina. I was thinking
- 5:46Speaker 3: the same thing.
- 5:47Speaker 6: At Alina.
- 5:47Speaker 5: At Alina.
- 5:48Speaker 3: It would have been so futuristic.
- 5:50Speaker 2: It would have been.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I'd be like, okay, so your Instagram is Atalina? That's
- 5:56Speaker 3: so cool. You got Atalina.
- 5:56Speaker 4: It's like, no, no, my name is Atalina. That actually
- 6:00Speaker 4: is pretty awesome. I didn't even ever think about that, honestly.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Next voicemail.
- 6:04Speaker 6: Hi, guys.
- 6:05Speaker 7: My name is Delia.
- 6:07Speaker 5: I'm from New York.
- 6:09Speaker 7: I have a great question. Tale as old as time,
- 6:12Speaker 7: men go on a bachelor party and they go to
- 6:15Speaker 7: the strip club. What do you think about men at
- 6:20Speaker 7: a strip club, married, engaged, or just in a relationship,
- 6:24Speaker 7: an exclusive relationship? What do you guys think? Do you
- 6:28Speaker 7: think that that's like a stay away from them sign?
- 6:31Speaker 7: Or do you think it's just like a classic thing that...
- 6:34Speaker 7: guys do and it's harmless and whatever. And feel free
- 6:38Speaker 7: to be honest. Nobody's going to judge you. We just
- 6:40Speaker 7: want to know like what you guys think because you
- 6:43Speaker 7: hear all the time girls are getting mad at their
- 6:45Speaker 7: boyfriends for going or some girls say it's no big deal.
- 6:48Speaker 7: So we want to know what you guys think.
- 6:51Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 6:52Speaker 5: Love you guys.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Love you. Love you. Great question.
- 6:56Speaker 1: This is a case by case thing. This is not
- 6:58Speaker 1: a blanket opinion across the board. No one thing is
- 7:02Speaker 1: right for any couple. As far as bachelor parties go,
- 7:06Speaker 1: let's separate the two questions. Is it okay if you're
- 7:08Speaker 1: in a committed relationship, you know, an exclusive relationship, boyfriend, girlfriend,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you know, married, whatever it is.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Partner, partner. Partner, partner, to go to a strip club.
- 7:20Speaker 3: That is up to you to decide. Yeah, your comfortability.
- 7:24Speaker 3: You as in the couple. You as in the couple,
- 7:26Speaker 3: not you directly, yeah. Yeah, so that's that. I can't
- 7:29Speaker 3: speak to that. To each their own.
- 7:31Speaker 1: As far as the bachelor party thing goes, I think
- 7:33Speaker 1: the psychology, if I had to break it down, it's
- 7:34Speaker 1: probably some sort of thing of like, this is the
- 7:36Speaker 1: last hoorah is the thinking.
- 7:38Speaker 3: But, um, I mean, exactly.
- 7:42Speaker 1: It's kind of like, I'm sure for some people that's
- 7:45Speaker 1: really fun and they can have a great experience and
- 7:47Speaker 1: do that. Um, I don't, I think there are probably
- 7:50Speaker 1: more fulfilling ways to, uh, celebrate the end of your
- 7:56Speaker 1: quote single days or bachelor days. Um, but this is
- 7:59Speaker 1: not exclusive to men. This is across the board. This
- 8:03Speaker 1: also happens with women, non-binary people. So I think it's
- 8:08Speaker 1: really important to just.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Thunder down under.
- 8:11Speaker 6: Heard of it?
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 3: To do what's right for you. Totally. And as you said,
- 8:16Speaker 3: live and let live. Don't judge. Be who you want
- 8:19Speaker 3: to be. If it's not right for you, respectfully, bow out.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I mean, you've done that in the past. Bowed out?
- 8:24Speaker 3: Bowed out. Yes, of course.
- 8:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Because it wasn't a part of me and my wife's agreement.
- 8:29Speaker 3: And there it is. And there you have it. Tea
- 8:32Speaker 3: being spilled on the pod. Joe, thoughts? Concerns?
- 8:37Speaker 8: My thoughts are I've gone to a place before and
- 8:43Speaker 8: didn't mention it to somebody that I was seeing, dating.
- 8:46Speaker 8: And then told them the next day. And it was
- 8:49Speaker 8: a big deal to that person. And so I decided
- 8:51Speaker 8: to let them know. And it was way more fun
- 8:54Speaker 8: with them. We enjoyed ourselves together. Better that way. So
- 8:59Speaker 8: much more fun. All right, next voicemail.
- 9:02Speaker 9: Hi, guys.
- 9:03Speaker 6: This is Vianney.
- 9:04Speaker 9: I live in New York. And I was at your
- 9:07Speaker 9: concert on MSG93. It was really cool.
- 9:11Speaker 6: So, yeah, okay.
- 9:13Speaker 9: I need advice because I am a girl that suffers
- 9:16Speaker 9: from a lot of anxiety. And I know you guys
- 9:19Speaker 9: are surrounded all the time by, like, a lot of people,
- 9:22Speaker 9: a lot of fans, interviews. And I just need, like,
- 9:27Speaker 9: advice on how do you deal with it Maybe like
- 9:30Speaker 9: if you have or you feel like you're having a
- 9:33Speaker 9: panic attack or something, what do you do to like
- 9:36Speaker 9: relax and try to focus and feeling OK? I know
- 9:41Speaker 9: that mental health is super important. And so, yeah, any
- 9:46Speaker 9: advice on that? Love you guys. And I love your podcast.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Thank you for the question. Great question. Thank you for
- 9:51Speaker 3: your vulnerability and for speaking about.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It.
- 9:55Speaker 3: I also deal with that from time to time.
- 9:59Speaker 7: It is.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Not fun.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It's probably become more of a thing in my life
- 10:03Speaker 1: the last couple of years, which is annoying because I
- 10:07Speaker 1: think we all sort of think of ourselves as like
- 10:09Speaker 1: grownups who should be able to traverse the many complicated
- 10:15Speaker 1: moments that life throws at us with ease, or at
- 10:18Speaker 1: least that's what I thought for a long time. Then
- 10:19Speaker 1: one day I realized maybe that's not the case and
- 10:22Speaker 1: it's okay to not be okay all the time. As
- 10:25Speaker 1: far as what I do when those things happen, when
- 10:27Speaker 1: I feel that way, I don't have any one method
- 10:29Speaker 1: that has necessarily worked every time. But the one thing
- 10:33Speaker 1: that I think I try to remind myself of is
- 10:37Speaker 1: that what I'm feeling is in my head and it's
- 10:40Speaker 1: not real. I'm going to the thing that scares me
- 10:44Speaker 1: most and not choosing to look at what's in front
- 10:46Speaker 1: of me and my reality in the moment. Um, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: just trying to take that deep breath and remind yourself that, uh,
- 10:54Speaker 1: you've jumped to some conclusion that isn't real yet makes
- 10:58Speaker 1: it okay. And then you can kind of find your
- 11:00Speaker 1: breath and, uh, take a seat. If you have to
- 11:03Speaker 1: step out of a situation that's making you feel crazy
- 11:05Speaker 1: or uncomfortable or stressed or anxious, do that.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Um, it can wait.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Um, and you can come back to it with a,
- 11:13Speaker 1: better sense of who you are clarity of peace of
- 11:16Speaker 1: mind and all that and um it's it's never perfect
- 11:20Speaker 1: and you're not gonna nail it and be okay when
- 11:22Speaker 1: you want to be okay but you'll get there so it's.
- 11:25Speaker 8: Great i'd also like to add if i may please
- 11:28Speaker 8: something that's helped me because i've i get quite anxious
- 11:31Speaker 8: on flights the older i get i had like a
- 11:34Speaker 8: bit of a scary flight i was choking on something
- 11:38Speaker 8: and It was like the next thing I know, there
- 11:41Speaker 8: was two nurses that happened to be on the plane
- 11:43Speaker 8: up in the front trying to help me. And I'm like,
- 11:45Speaker 8: this was crazy. And I was fine. But ever since then,
- 11:49Speaker 8: long flights, I get a little freaked out. And I
- 11:53Speaker 8: fly a lot for what we do and also to
- 11:55Speaker 8: see my kids. And I don't take like anything yet.
- 12:00Speaker 8: And I think obviously that it can be helpful. Speak
- 12:02Speaker 8: to your doctor or psychiatrist about if you don't have one.
- 12:06Speaker 3: There's a mental health line right here. and call in.
- 12:11Speaker 8: And I'd say, um, for, for me, there's something I,
- 12:16Speaker 8: I put into practice is having a moment like that,
- 12:20Speaker 8: especially on a flight, something that I can see, feel, touch,
- 12:23Speaker 8: and taste.
- 12:23Speaker 3: And those kind of ground you. So it brings you back.
- 12:27Speaker 8: I could be like, put an ice cube in your
- 12:29Speaker 8: mouth and just that, and then, you know, feel something,
- 12:32Speaker 8: whether if it's okay, I'm touching, I can feel that.
- 12:34Speaker 8: And just doing some breath work, the app headspace, this
- 12:38Speaker 8: is not an ad, I swear. But the added headspace
- 12:40Speaker 8: I've used for years now and I do it every
- 12:43Speaker 8: morning and it's really helpful. And for me, when I
- 12:45Speaker 8: have anxious moments, you can go in there and just
- 12:47Speaker 8: like tap back in. And it's like, if we're on
- 12:50Speaker 8: our phones all the time, sometimes even just scrolling and
- 12:53Speaker 8: stuff and see other parts of the world, there's so
- 12:55Speaker 8: much craziness and sadness in the world. So it's like
- 12:58Speaker 8: to stop and like bring yourself back to your place.
- 13:00Speaker 3: It's important.
- 13:01Speaker 8: And also don't be afraid to speak to somebody in
- 13:02Speaker 8: those moments. It feels like you're so embarrassing or like, Oh, like,
- 13:07Speaker 8: like this is like, So like nobody else feels like this.
- 13:10Speaker 8: You'll be surprised with how many people can relate. And
- 13:12Speaker 8: I think talking about it, just like you are and
- 13:14Speaker 8: calling us in, you should just speak to a friend
- 13:16Speaker 8: when we've had moments like this. I'm like, Hey, can
- 13:18Speaker 8: I just, we've had moments like it on stage. It's like, Hey,
- 13:21Speaker 8: can you cover? Cause sing, sing 40 solo songs real quick. Um,
- 13:26Speaker 8: but thanks for the call and we're sending you strength
- 13:29Speaker 8: and love.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Yeah. Hey Jonas, this is Cassidy calling from Michigan. My
- 13:34Speaker 5: question is, what are some of your favorite nostalgic 90s things? Like,
- 13:40Speaker 5: whether it be snacks, toys.
- 13:43Speaker 7: Candy, TV shows, movies.
- 13:45Speaker 3: John Stamos.
- 13:46Speaker 5: What instantly takes you back to your childhood?
- 13:49Speaker 7: What are some of your favorite memories?
- 13:51Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 13:51Speaker 5: See you in December.
- 13:53Speaker 3: What is that gooey kind of foam thing with the
- 13:55Speaker 3: little beads in it that's like.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Floam.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Floam. Or Gak.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Floam's back, by the way. I know.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Malti had it the other day, and I was.
- 14:02Speaker 1: immediately brought back to my childhood like love it it
- 14:05Speaker 1: like brings you right there I mean obviously but Pokemon
- 14:08Speaker 1: yeah I mean I've been like you're living it it's
- 14:12Speaker 1: it's bigger than ever but when we were kids it
- 14:13Speaker 1: was very popular and now I get to share.
- 14:15Speaker 8: It with a love for it with so many people
- 14:16Speaker 8: I've met so many people in our fan base who
- 14:20Speaker 8: love it as well it's.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Really cool to see you open a pack every night
- 14:22Speaker 4: at the last little thing it's becoming a thing I
- 14:24Speaker 4: like it I mean.
- 14:25Speaker 8: It's been fun and you know I'm really and also
- 14:28Speaker 8: I think probably like actually I got you something and
- 14:31Speaker 8: I got you both something today.
- 14:33Speaker 3: That's nostalgic.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Actually, can I say what is for me?
- 14:36Speaker 4: I saw this at a garage sale the other day
- 14:39Speaker 4: at home. We were driving down the street and I
- 14:41Speaker 4: happened to be at a garage sale and they had
- 14:45Speaker 4: the castle, the Little Tikes castle that had the thing
- 14:48Speaker 4: with the little boulders that you pull back and you
- 14:51Speaker 4: shoot it. So they had that there and I literally
- 14:54Speaker 4: got flashed back to the three of us playing with it.
- 14:58Speaker 4: And it was like, I told my girls Little Tikes
- 15:01Speaker 4: are Lincoln Logs.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Little Tikes.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I think it was Little Tikes.
- 15:04Speaker 7: Did you buy it?
- 15:05Speaker 3: No, I didn't buy it. It was pretty beat up.
- 15:07Speaker 3: You know what else? Corn dogs. Corn dogs. Yeah, corn dogs.
- 15:12Speaker 3: I will fuck up a corn dog. Me too.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Dude, are you a ketchup or a mustard guy on
- 15:17Speaker 4: the corn dog?
- 15:17Speaker 6: No, no.
- 15:17Speaker 3: The thing is you get the little paper.
- 15:20Speaker 2: The basket.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Basket thing, right? And what you do is ketchup on
- 15:24Speaker 3: one corner, mustard on the other.
- 15:27Speaker 2: In the basket.
- 15:27Speaker 6: In the basket.
- 15:28Speaker 2: And you double dub it.
- 15:29Speaker 1: And then you can go like that. And then you
- 15:31Speaker 1: can lay the corn dog across the side that doesn't
- 15:33Speaker 1: have the condiments on it.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Not enough places have corn dogs. I've been saying this
- 15:39Speaker 3: for years.
- 15:40Speaker 4: No, but like I go to a baseball game. I
- 15:41Speaker 4: get a hot dog. But if they gave me a
- 15:43Speaker 4: corn dog.
- 15:43Speaker 1: You have the option to have the hot dog on
- 15:46Speaker 1: a stick. I would love a wrapped in corn meal.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I would love a gif or a meme of Kevin
- 15:50Speaker 1: Jonas at a baseball game. I'd use that in the
- 15:53Speaker 1: family group text.
- 15:54Speaker 4: That would get a big thumbs down from me. But yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 4: I get it.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Well, this has been great, guys. All right. Thanks for
- 16:01Speaker 3: the voicemails. Call us in, guys.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Find the castle.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Yeah. Hand it to him at a show. The full castle.
