- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to dive right
- 0:06Speaker 1: back into the lawsuit filed by New Mexico against Darren
- 0:09Speaker 1: Indyke and Richard Kahn. Jane Doe number six. In an
- 0:14Speaker 1: FBI interview in 2019, Jane Doe six stated that she
- 0:18Speaker 1: met Epstein when she was 17 years old. He showed
- 0:21Speaker 1: interest in her life and upbringing and kept in touch
- 0:24Speaker 1: with her, offering to pay for her schooling. He also
- 0:27Speaker 1: invited her to his homes, including his home in New Mexico,
- 0:31Speaker 1: which she recalls as being overwhelming. She was sexually assaulted
- 0:35Speaker 1: by Epstein four times before she turned 18, in New Mexico, Paris,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and Florida. She reported that two of these four assaults
- 0:42Speaker 1: were rapes where Epstein snuck into her room while she
- 0:45Speaker 1: was sleeping. Jane Doe 7, completely redacted. Additional Survivors The
- 0:51Speaker 1: specific survivors mentioned above are among many girls and young
- 0:55Speaker 1: women whose sexual abuse and trafficking is specifically linked to
- 0:58Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch. Not only did Epstein and his associates lure
- 1:02Speaker 1: and recruit girls and young women, including those whom he
- 1:05Speaker 1: had only briefly or recently met, to Zorro Ranch for
- 1:08Speaker 1: purposes of sexual abuse, but Epstein also abused his own
- 1:12Speaker 1: business associates at Zorro Ranch. Videos and images of survivors
- 1:17Speaker 1: were taken at Zorro Ranch. Several binders containing sleeves of
- 1:21Speaker 1: compact discs were found in Epstein's Manhattan residence by the FBI.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Some discs contained the word Zorro, with one disc marked
- 1:29Speaker 1: Redacted Zorro Pics. One survivor disclosed in an interview disclosed
- 1:34Speaker 1: through the Epstein Files Transparency Act that Epstein, upon learning
- 1:38Speaker 1: in November of 2018 that she needed financial help, had
- 1:41Speaker 1: con-wire her $ 250, 000. On another occasion, Epstein gave the same
- 1:46Speaker 1: survivor $ 100, 000. The survivor stated that during trips to New Mexico,
- 1:51Speaker 1: Epstein led her to his bed, where he would masturbate
- 1:54Speaker 1: in her presence. F. Indyke and Kahn's involvement in the
- 1:58Speaker 1: Epstein enterprise Between approximately the mid-90s for Indyke and approximately
- 2:04Speaker 1: 2005 or 2006 for Kahn, and continuing through Epstein's death,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Indyke and Kahn served as officers and directors in virtually
- 2:12Speaker 1: every corporate entity that Epstein created to fund and conceal
- 2:16Speaker 1: his illicit activities. Indycan Khan had signatory authority or power
- 2:21Speaker 1: of attorney for many of Epstein's bank accounts. Indycan Khan
- 2:24Speaker 1: assisted with and facilitated the financial activities of the Epstein-owned
- 2:29Speaker 1: entities by approving, enabling, and justifying millions of dollars in
- 2:33Speaker 1: payments that fueled the Epstein enterprise sex trafficking, including payments
- 2:37Speaker 1: to girls and young women who were sexually abused by
- 2:40Speaker 1: Epstein and those who recruited others to be victimized. Indycan
- 2:45Speaker 1: Khan also had signatory authority over virtually all of the
- 2:49Speaker 1: accounts held by the corporate entities used by Epstein to
- 2:52Speaker 1: conduct his affairs. As of 2005, Indycon Con held or
- 2:57Speaker 1: managed at least 140 different bank accounts for Epstein and
- 3:01Speaker 1: Epstein-owned entities, many of which existed only to transfer payments
- 3:05Speaker 1: to other entities and accounts and ultimately to facilitate and
- 3:09Speaker 1: conceal payments to his survivors and associates. Indyk and Kahn
- 3:14Speaker 1: both had signatory authority and or were trustees for many
- 3:18Speaker 1: of Epstein's JPMC accounts, including the Butterfly Trust account, from
- 3:22Speaker 1: which hundreds of thousands of dollars were made to women.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Both men were also paid handsomely from Epstein's JPMC account.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Between 2003 and 2013, Indyk and his business received over
- 3:35Speaker 1: $ 10 million, and Kahn and his company received $ 4. 9 million.
- 3:39Speaker 1: JPMC terminated its banking relationship with Epstein in in 2013,
- 3:45Speaker 1: after which Epstein switched many of his accounts and financial
- 3:48Speaker 1: relationships to Deutsche Bank. Redacted, a staggering sum that could
- 3:54Speaker 1: not have been accidentally overlooked by anyone with signatory authority,
- 3:58Speaker 1: a fiscal management role, or other professional connection to these accounts. Indeed,
- 4:04Speaker 1: JPMC would ultimately conclude, as stated in an internal Know
- 4:08Speaker 1: Your Customer document describing the decision to exit the relationship
- 4:12Speaker 1: with Kahn, that Epstein was running a sex trafficking ring
- 4:15Speaker 1: and Kahn was a primary actor in the movement of
- 4:19Speaker 1: Epstein's funds, and that Kahn controlled the movement of Epstein's
- 4:22Speaker 1: funds and potentially assisted in facilitating the sex trafficking ring.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Epstein's pattern of withdrawing large sums of cash and his
- 4:30Speaker 1: use of cash for massages was sufficiently obvious that even
- 4:34Speaker 1: personnel within JPMC commented that Epstein has been known to
- 4:38Speaker 1: pay cash for his massages. when examining Epstein's withdrawals of $ 160, 000
- 4:43Speaker 1: in cash from August 2011 through March 2012, a rate
- 4:49Speaker 1: of $ 20, 000 per month. Indeed, this pattern resulted in a
- 4:53Speaker 1: separate internal JPMC email observing that the repetitive nature of
- 4:57Speaker 1: these cash transactions is a problem for the bank and
- 5:01Speaker 1: our relationship with Epstein. Endike, an experienced lawyer, and Kahn,
- 5:05Speaker 1: an experienced accountant, implausibly each denied knowledge that these cash transactions,
- 5:10Speaker 1: as structured, would evade currency reporting requirements or otherwise draw
- 5:15Speaker 1: scrutiny by outsiders. The final year of Epstein's banking with JPMC,
- 5:21Speaker 1: charges to Epstein's related JPMC credit cards include, in a
- 5:24Speaker 1: period of less than one year, over $ 3, 700 to lingerie stores,
- 5:29Speaker 1: including Victoria's Secret, and over $ 11, 000 to spa, nail salons,
- 5:34Speaker 1: and cosmetic store Sephora, and a high-end handbag repair store.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Other financial records indicate over $ 3 million in payments with
- 5:42Speaker 1: no discernible business purpose from Epstein-related accounts directly to girls
- 5:46Speaker 1: or women over the decade from 2003 to 2013. Even
- 5:52Speaker 1: a non-profit entity overseen by Indyk and Kahn served as
- 5:55Speaker 1: a source of suspicious payments. Indyk and Kahn served as
- 5:58Speaker 1: vice president and treasurer respectively of the COUQ Foundation, a
- 6:04Speaker 1: tax-exempt entity formed by Epstein president, Kahn treasurer, and Indyke
- 6:08Speaker 1: vice president. In 2012, COUQ paid over $ 30, 000 to girls
- 6:13Speaker 1: or women for purposes apparently unrelated to the charity. Between
- 6:18Speaker 1: 2013 and 2019, Indyke and Kahn authorized and signed off
- 6:22Speaker 1: on payments totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars to the
- 6:25Speaker 1: Epstein sex trafficking survivors, including those who acted as recruiters,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and other expenses, including legal fees, apartment rent, and tuition.
- 6:36Speaker 1: After Epstein was terminated by JPMC as a client and
- 6:40Speaker 1: switched his banking relationship to DB, Indyk and Kahn continue
- 6:43Speaker 1: to structure transactions and provide explanations for transactions that obscured
- 6:48Speaker 1: the purpose of those transactions. In particular, financial institutions are
- 6:53Speaker 1: required to provide currency transaction reports to the Federal Financial
- 6:57Speaker 1: Crimes Enforcement Network for any cash transaction including deposits, withdrawals,
- 7:02Speaker 1: or exchanges exceeding $ 10, 000 in a single business day. Indyke
- 7:07Speaker 1: had withdrawal authority for Epstein's DB accounts. During the period
- 7:11Speaker 1: between 2013 and 2017, Indyke made 97 different cash withdrawals,
- 7:18Speaker 1: amounting to $ 200, 000 each year. And in 2018, Indyke withdrew $ 100, 000
- 7:23Speaker 1: from a single DB branch office, asserting the funds were
- 7:27Speaker 1: for a legitimate business purpose of tipping and household expenses,
- 7:31Speaker 1: when they were instead used to pay women involved in
- 7:33Speaker 1: Epstein's trafficking ring. Indyke deliberately structured these cash withdrawals to
- 7:39Speaker 1: be below the $ 10, 000 threshold at which bank reporting requirements apply.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Next section, redacted. Separately, Kahn, a certified public accountant with
- 7:48Speaker 1: over 20 years of professional experience, implausibly testified before Congress
- 7:54Speaker 1: that he was unaware of repeated $ 9, 800 cash withdrawals from
- 7:58Speaker 1: accounts associated with Epstein's Enterprise, and unaware that these transactions
- 8:02Speaker 1: fell just $ 200 short of federal reporting limits. Next section, redacted.
- 8:08Speaker 1: DB nonetheless continued its banking relationship with Epstein and his associates,
- 8:13Speaker 1: notwithstanding the flags, redacted, and notwithstanding other subsequent suspicious transactions.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Khan provided information to DB to explain otherwise suspicious transactions.
- 8:24Speaker 1: For example, in 2018, Khan explained wires sent to Moscow
- 8:28Speaker 1: headquartered Surbank as payments sent to a friend as tuition
- 8:33Speaker 1: for school. And in 2019, Kahn's accounting from HBRK Associates
- 8:39Speaker 1: saw a next-day pickup of € 50, 000 from DB plus FedEx
- 8:43Speaker 1: delivery of euros valued at € 7, 500 to a separate address.
- 8:48Speaker 1: The legal and financial services that Indyk and Kahn provided
- 8:51Speaker 1: to Epstein resulted in their personal involvement in countless transactions
- 8:56Speaker 1: that facilitated the trafficking and sexual abuse. For example, in 2017,
- 9:02Speaker 1: Kahn emailed Epstein regarding payment of the latest batch of
- 9:05Speaker 1: medical expenses for girls, an expense apparently so routine that
- 9:09Speaker 1: Kahn merely asked Epstein to confirm that Epstein did not
- 9:12Speaker 1: want to see them, but the bills should be paid
- 9:15Speaker 1: once confirmed for accuracy. Indeed, attempts to move Epstein's money
- 9:19Speaker 1: in questionable transactions continued until the time of his 2019 arrest.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Just 10 days before being arrested, Epstein attempted to purchase
- 9:28Speaker 1: a palace in Morocco, a country that does not have
- 9:31Speaker 1: extradition treaty with the United States. for $ 27. 7 million from
- 9:36Speaker 1: a Schwab account with insufficient funds for the purchase. Kahn
- 9:41Speaker 1: canceled the purchase transaction days after Epstein's arrest. The sheer
- 9:45Speaker 1: complexity of the infrastructure that Epstein set up and maintained
- 9:49Speaker 1: with the participation of defendant Kahn in Dyke via the
- 9:52Speaker 1: layers of accounts at various banks suggests its unlawful purpose. G. Recruitment,
- 9:59Speaker 1: Control and and trafficking of girls and young women. Epstein included,
- 10:04Speaker 1: by means of force, fraud, and coercion, as a ringleader
- 10:07Speaker 1: of a sex trafficking venture, both enticed and recruited girls
- 10:11Speaker 1: and young women, and caused others to entice and recruit
- 10:14Speaker 1: girls and young women to engage in commercial sex acts
- 10:17Speaker 1: with Epstein and others. At times after sexually assaulting these
- 10:21Speaker 1: girls and young women, Epstein would pay hundreds of dollars
- 10:24Speaker 1: in cash to the girls and young women. Epstein, either
- 10:28Speaker 1: directly or with assistance of others in the trafficking venture,
- 10:32Speaker 1: would cause the girls or young women to travel to
- 10:34Speaker 1: be transported to his residences at which the abuse occurred,
- 10:38Speaker 1: including Zorro Ranch. Beginning in the early 1996 and lasting
- 10:41Speaker 1: as late as 2019, Epstein and his associates within the
- 10:47Speaker 1: Epstein Enterprise trafficked girls and young women to Zorro Ranch,
- 10:51Speaker 1: where Epstein and Maxwell groomed and sexually assaulted them. Epstein
- 10:55Speaker 1: was personally aware that a number of the girls whom
- 10:57Speaker 1: he abused, including Jane Doe 1, Jane Doe 3, Jane
- 11:01Speaker 1: Doe 4, Jane Doe 6, and Jane Doe 7, were minors. Alright,
- 11:06Speaker 1: we're going to wrap up right here, and in the
- 11:08Speaker 1: next episode, we're going to pick up with Indyke and Khan.
- 11:11Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
