Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Night FM, Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen on this Thursday, October 22nd.
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's International Caps Lock Day.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Oh.
- 0:08Speaker 1: That's why I yelled it. I want you to write
- 0:11Speaker 1: every email today, every text with caps lock.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I hate when it's on because then your passwords don't work.
- 0:18Speaker 1: That's true.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I'm just saying.
- 0:19Speaker 1: You have to change everything, right? Yes. It's National Nut Day.
- 0:22Speaker 1: National Smart is Cool Day. It's National Scar Appreciation Day.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I would show you mine, but that's a whole HR issue.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:30Speaker 1: And we just took a test on that. Yeah. It's national.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Red light.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Red light. That's right. That'd be a red light. We
- 0:36Speaker 1: took this HR test here at iHeartRadio, and it was
- 0:39Speaker 1: like an hour and 20 minutes. And the big takeaway
- 0:42Speaker 1: was certain things you can do.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 0:44Speaker 2: What's a green light? What's a yellow?
- 0:46Speaker 1: What's a red? A handshake is a green light.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But if I go over to you. And say, hey, Christine,
- 0:52Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Don't stand so close to me.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And if I stand too close?
- 0:55Speaker 2: Red light.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Red light.
- 0:56Speaker 2: And that's why I could just say that to you.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Red light, Cubby. Red light. And shoulder massage is definitely
- 1:02Speaker 2: red light.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It's always green, though, when I go over to your
- 1:05Speaker 1: side of the room. That light we have over here,
- 1:07Speaker 1: it always turns green. No, you're right. I can't. Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 1: You've got to be very careful.
- 1:12Speaker 2: No, don't do it. And a hug is a yellow.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Which is surprising to me.
- 1:16Speaker 2: You have to make sure we're okay with it.
- 1:18Speaker 1: A massage is a red light.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But what's yellow?
- 1:23Speaker 2: A hug is a yellow.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, a hug is yellow. I guess you have to
- 1:26Speaker 1: do it in a very original manner.
- 1:27Speaker 2: You've got to look at the person like, can I
- 1:29Speaker 2: give you a hug? And if they say yes, then
- 1:32Speaker 2: you can hug. Don't linger. Tap out pretty quickly.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Because we're talking about work here.
- 1:37Speaker 1: But the test we took made us all scared. Oh, please.
- 1:40Speaker 1: A lot of people are saying.
- 1:40Speaker 2: We can't even make eye contact.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Yeah, like I'm not going to talk to anybody anymore.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I know. Because I'm going to be in the HR department.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Everything is red light. Ah.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Okay. Here we are back together. And I want to
- 1:50Speaker 1: say hi to everybody. I emceed an event last night
- 1:53Speaker 1: for Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. I did a big
- 1:56Speaker 1: gala for them in April. They had another event yesterday.
- 1:59Speaker 1: It was a golf outing at Hackensack Country Club. So
- 2:02Speaker 1: they golfed all day. And then we had a big
- 2:04Speaker 1: banquet yesterday. And I hosted that, and I got to
- 2:07Speaker 1: hang with Deborah Viscone, who is the bigwig there, the president.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Oh, who I met, yeah. You met her. She was great, yes.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Along with a lot of other great people. There's a
- 2:15Speaker 1: woman there named Marion who's very nice, and Donna Lee,
- 2:17Speaker 1: and so many people are part of it. And they
- 2:20Speaker 1: really welcomed me, and I got a chance to meet
- 2:22Speaker 1: a lot of great people, and it was all for
- 2:24Speaker 1: a good cause. So, yeah, that was my night last night.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And here I am. They put me up at a hotel,
- 2:30Speaker 1: by the way, which is very nice. Because I didn't
- 2:31Speaker 1: have to drive all the way back to East Brunswick.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Oh, you had a nice commute in.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Yeah, so it was pretty cool. How about you? You
- 2:37Speaker 1: were telling me that your coffee guy.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Carlos, yeah.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Carlos, that you see every morning? Yes. He's ready for
- 2:43Speaker 1: Christmas already?
- 2:44Speaker 2: He said, look, Christine, it's almost Christmas time because the
- 2:48Speaker 2: stores around us are starting to do their windows. And
- 2:52Speaker 2: I noticed it yesterday, too. I went and got my
- 2:54Speaker 2: hair done yesterday. So when I was walking back, I
- 2:56Speaker 2: was like, oh, look at that. Christian Dior was all Christmassy.
- 3:01Speaker 2: And then I was walking past Tiffany and somebody was
- 3:04Speaker 2: doing a photo shoot, like breakfast at Tiffany's. There was
- 3:07Speaker 2: a girl dressed up like Audrey Hepburn.
- 3:08Speaker 1: When was this?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yesterday. So I went to film that too. You know,
- 3:14Speaker 2: I'm not getting people's faces. I'm just trying to kind
- 3:16Speaker 2: of set the scene. Because I like when people post cities,
- 3:19Speaker 2: like I'll watch somebody post a London street or something.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So I was trying to do like a little New
- 3:23Speaker 2: York street scene, like, Here's a little Christian Dior. Here's
- 3:25Speaker 2: a little Tiffany in a photo shoot. But I also
- 3:29Speaker 2: posted my hair first.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Which looks fabulous, by the way. Thank you. Is that
- 3:33Speaker 1: HR okay? Can I compliment her on her hair, Kristen?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yellow light? I'll say green because I'll take the compliment.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Thank you. But I put those pictures first. Ricardo Maggiore
- 3:45Speaker 2: is the salon that I go to, and Christina Liberatore
- 3:48Speaker 2: does my hair. So thank you, guys. I put those first,
- 3:51Speaker 2: and then I put the videos. And I got a
- 3:52Speaker 2: lot of, and I appreciate... nice hair. And then I said,
- 3:56Speaker 2: what did you think of Breakfast at Tiffany's? And people
- 3:58Speaker 2: were like, what? So it really, really, really proves that
- 4:01Speaker 2: when we put those videos up or those reels, you
- 4:04Speaker 2: make it through like one or two seconds and then
- 4:06Speaker 2: you're out of there. And I was like most proud
- 4:09Speaker 2: of my work of getting these New York scenes.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You appreciated the hair compliments, but you weren't going just
- 4:15Speaker 1: for that.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Right. I was kind of, I kind of put that
- 4:18Speaker 2: in the caption, like at the New York City salon
- 4:20Speaker 2: while they get ready for Christmas and breakfast at Tiffany's.
- 4:23Speaker 2: So now I know, like, if I want you guys
- 4:25Speaker 2: to see Breakfast at Tiffany, just put that video.
- 4:27Speaker 1: And that only.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Just that.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Because we only make it through, like, two or three seconds.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Follow the Christine Nagy on Instagram. The Christine Nagy.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Thank you, Paul Cubby Bryant and producer Kristen. And you
- 4:36Speaker 2: can follow me.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And producer Kristen is producer Kristen.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Right? That simple. She is. That simple. Say something. Yell. Go, hey. Hi. Hi.
- 4:45Speaker 1: There you go. See, she's here. People think she doesn't
- 4:47Speaker 1: talk as much anymore. And she's not here. But she's here.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Producing our show. Yeah. We're going to come right back.
- 4:52Speaker 1: We've got two pretty cool things. I do want to
- 4:54Speaker 1: address the text that your fiancé sent you last night,
- 4:58Speaker 1: if you don't mind.
- 4:58Speaker 2: He better be asleep.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Okay. We'll talk about that before 7 o'clock. And it's
- 5:03Speaker 1: all right here at Light FM.
- 5:04Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I need to tell you two things.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Cubby and Christine's. Two pretty cool things. I found this fascinating.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Did you know that polar bears have black skin and
- 5:21Speaker 1: their fur doesn't have white pigment? So how are they white?
- 5:25Speaker 1: How are polar bears white?
- 5:26Speaker 2: It's so cold out there.
- 5:27Speaker 1: That's what it is. The hairs are transparent and the
- 5:32Speaker 1: way they scatter light makes the coat look white. So
- 5:36Speaker 1: one of nature's most recognizable white animals is wearing a
- 5:39Speaker 1: pretty convincing optical illusion. Interesting. Wow. So once again, they
- 5:43Speaker 1: have black skin and their fur doesn't have any white pigment. pigment,
- 5:47Speaker 1: it's just transparent. And the way the light just scatters everything.
- 5:51Speaker 1: So it's a pretty cool trick. Wow. Polar bears.
- 5:54Speaker 2: They're like camouflaged.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I know. What do you have as a cool thing?
- 5:58Speaker 2: It's something very yummy. McDonald's and Top Chef season 22
- 6:01Speaker 2: winner Tristan Epps are teaming up for a first ever
- 6:05Speaker 2: chef's table experience here in New York City, October 29th.
- 6:10Speaker 2: And it features a new $ 8 quarter pounder with cheese meal.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Hey, for a meal? Yes. That's pretty good.
- 6:16Speaker 2: So that's going to launch nationwide November 2nd. Quarter pounder cheese,
- 6:20Speaker 2: medium fries, and a drink, $ 8. The chef's table experience,
- 6:25Speaker 2: you'll be able to observe the preparation of the beautiful
- 6:28Speaker 2: quarter pounder with cheese, the lovely egg McMuffin, chicken McNuggets,
- 6:33Speaker 2: the world-famous fries. You can watch it all happening. I
- 6:35Speaker 2: hope you get to eat, too. But you actually have
- 6:37Speaker 2: to make reservations for this. This is October 29th, and
- 6:41Speaker 2: the event opens up at 1 o'clock today. First come,
- 6:45Speaker 2: first served. So head to your McDonald's website to make
- 6:48Speaker 2: your reservations.
- 6:49Speaker 1: And then after that, you go to White Castle and
- 6:51Speaker 1: make your Valentine's Day reservations.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Let's deal with Christmas.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Okay. Halloween. Halloween.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Thanksgiving. Christmas. New Year's.
- 7:00Speaker 1: New Year's. Valentine's. All right. We'll get to it.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Give it a little time.
- 7:02Speaker 1: All right. We're coming right back. Folded. We got Kalani next.
- 7:06Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Christine, you know your man ain't listening right now. So...
- 7:14Speaker 1: Can you please read it on the air? Oh, no.
- 7:17Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM. Just do it. Please. I want to
- 7:19Speaker 1: share with the audience the dynamic relationship you have. And
- 7:23Speaker 1: Eric have your fiance.
- 7:25Speaker 2: But I shared this with you privately. No. I probably
- 7:28Speaker 2: shouldn't even have done that. He's going to be embarrassed.
- 7:30Speaker 1: If you're listening to this, Eric, I'm making her do it.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And the reason I like it is it's because something
- 7:35Speaker 1: I would do, too. You think? Because Eric and I
- 7:38Speaker 1: both have a sense of humor of a 12-year-old. Yes.
- 7:42Speaker 2: And I don't even know that he meant to do this.
- 7:44Speaker 2: But he's out on Long Island last night. And, yes,
- 7:47Speaker 2: hopefully sleeping.
- 7:48Speaker 1: He had a boys' night? Yes.
- 7:50Speaker 2: He was doing what he calls a man hang. So, like,
- 7:53Speaker 2: all his guys got back together, and they... Should I
- 7:56Speaker 2: name the restaurant? I don't even know. Like, how much
- 7:58Speaker 2: do I give away here?
- 7:59Speaker 1: Yeah, give the restaurant. He's gone now.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Okay, Big Daddy's.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Big Daddy's.
- 8:02Speaker 2: This place is called Big Daddy's. It's like a New
- 8:04Speaker 2: Orleans experience or something.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Sounds like something else. So they.
- 8:07Speaker 2: No, it's not something else, because then I'd be in
- 8:09Speaker 2: a pretty bad mood today.
- 8:10Speaker 1: You want to go to Big Daddy's?
- 8:11Speaker 2: It was just food. So they're hanging out. They've got
- 8:15Speaker 2: a designated driver, so they're drinking responsibly. But honestly, Cubby,
- 8:18Speaker 2: I woke up. My phone... called me like two times
- 8:22Speaker 2: even though he knows i'm asleep right he called a
- 8:24Speaker 2: couple times i've got pictures of food i've got videos
- 8:27Speaker 2: of his friends going and saying hi to me oh
- 8:30Speaker 2: he's hammered and then yeah and then he says okay
- 8:33Speaker 2: i am home i miss booze that's archie and me
- 8:37Speaker 2: we're the booze because we call archie da boo so
- 8:40Speaker 2: and then we became booze we're the boo family that's
- 8:42Speaker 2: cute and then he wrote not too drunk poop.
- 8:48Speaker 1: That's a wrap folks. And that was the last communication
- 8:50Speaker 1: with him.
- 8:51Speaker 2: The last was poop.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Okay. Well, clearly a little bit drunk and that whole
- 8:57Speaker 1: poop thing seems to follow you. Yes. Remember you were
- 9:01Speaker 1: doing something, you were doing a speak to text to somebody.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Yes.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And it took, I was took a different word and
- 9:08Speaker 1: turned it into poop.
- 9:08Speaker 2: There was a lady that was so nice in our
- 9:11Speaker 2: neighborhood and she was giving away curtains and I went
- 9:14Speaker 2: to her house to pick them up. She wasn't home.
- 9:16Speaker 2: She gave me the code to her garage. She was like,
- 9:18Speaker 2: just let me know when you've got them and you've
- 9:20Speaker 2: closed the door because people want to know my stuff
- 9:22Speaker 2: is safe. And I was mad. Like, they were really heavy,
- 9:27Speaker 2: much heavier than I expected. So I was carrying the
- 9:30Speaker 2: curtains and trying to text, not talk to text, but
- 9:32Speaker 2: text with my fingers at the same time.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. That's right.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And I don't know how in the world. And thank you, iPhone,
- 9:39Speaker 2: for deciding what I want to say. But it's like
- 9:42Speaker 2: something like I poop now or something like that.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Maybe that was a callback to what you did with
- 9:48Speaker 1: that text chain with that other person. Maybe Eric finds
- 9:51Speaker 1: it funny still. No. And just randomly does it to you.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I think he was trying to write something else and
- 9:57Speaker 2: it came out. poop. Because I don't trust iPhone. You
- 10:00Speaker 2: know how iPhone, you'll start to type something and it's like, oh,
- 10:02Speaker 2: you want to say, and it's like, no, it's not
- 10:04Speaker 2: what I want to say.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Well, there's one word that comes up a lot. It's
- 10:07Speaker 1: never that word.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Whack, whack, you know, the rhymes of that. I don't know.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I don't know what he was trying.
- 10:15Speaker 1: To say, you know. Well, and he's not up. So
- 10:18Speaker 1: this will be fun to find out. This is a mystery.
- 10:20Speaker 1: This is a mystery.
- 10:21Speaker 2: What did he mean?
- 10:21Speaker 1: Was he trying to be funny or was he just done? Poop. Poop,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm out. I'm out. All right, you can text us,
- 10:30Speaker 1: by the way, at 44363. In fact, just text the
- 10:35Speaker 1: word poop to 44363. Let's see how many poops we get.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I'll answer to it.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah. All right, we're going to look out for
- 10:41Speaker 1: your text right now here at Light FM.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Well, there's a huge Halloween setup at somebody's house in
- 10:51Speaker 1: the yard. It's been there for years in Clifton, New Jersey. Oh, yes.
- 10:55Speaker 2: This guy's famous for it.
- 10:56Speaker 1: You might want to go there soon. It might be
- 10:58Speaker 1: taken down. It's Light FM, Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen. And
- 11:01Speaker 1: I've been hearing about this story, but explain more if
- 11:03Speaker 1: you could, please.
- 11:04Speaker 2: So in Clifton, Cubby, there's a dentist, Dr. Wayne Ganji,
- 11:08Speaker 2: who's really like famous in our area. And, you know,
- 11:11Speaker 2: people are getting to know him even outside the area
- 11:13Speaker 2: because he puts up these huge Halloween displays. Like he
- 11:16Speaker 2: has a million mannequins. He dresses them up. He does
- 11:19Speaker 2: a lot of scary stuff with effects and people like it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I feel like every town has one of those houses
- 11:25Speaker 1: where it's just really cool, really overdone, but yeah, most
- 11:28Speaker 1: people enjoy it. Right.
- 11:30Speaker 2: This guy's over the top, and it's been like this
- 11:32Speaker 2: seriously for like 25 years. Yeah, 25 years he's been
- 11:36Speaker 2: doing this. Well, this year the city of Clifton was like, uh-oh, sorry, no.
- 11:41Speaker 2: You're going across the grassy area that's public property? That's
- 11:45Speaker 2: not really your property, no, like across the sidewalk. He's
- 11:48Speaker 2: not supposed to put stuff there. He put up some
- 11:51Speaker 2: corn stalks and stuff. And they flagged safety concerns regarding
- 11:55Speaker 2: extension cords and lights. And Clifton's city manager, Gary DiMarzo,
- 12:02Speaker 2: said the city must enforce its ordinances fairly and consistently
- 12:06Speaker 2: for public safety. So they're kind of like, I'm sorry,
- 12:10Speaker 2: we have to. We have to find you. We have
- 12:12Speaker 2: to tell you this. So, Dr. Ganji's response was, after
- 12:17Speaker 2: all of these complaints, I'm taking it down and I
- 12:21Speaker 2: am returning 3,000 Costco candy bars that were supposed to
- 12:25Speaker 2: go to trick-or-treaters because I also have to pay a fine.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Wow. So, he's putting his foot down. If you don't
- 12:31Speaker 1: want it, you're not going to get it. Yeah.
- 12:32Speaker 2: So, like, you know, it's kind of mixed in the neighborhood.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Some people are happy that it's going away.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:37Speaker 1: And some people are saying, no. No.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:41Speaker 2: And Costco's probably going to be like, no. Because he's
- 12:44Speaker 2: returning 3,000 Costco candy bars.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Now, is he being a little passive-aggressive by saying that? Like, oh,
- 12:50Speaker 1: just take all these candy bars I was going to
- 12:52Speaker 1: give to the kids.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I think he's serious because he is getting fined for this.
- 12:57Speaker 2: And he says he's got to cover the fine.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I don't know. Also, people were saying how it brings
- 13:02Speaker 1: a lot of traffic in the neighborhood and they don't
- 13:03Speaker 1: like it. But it's pretty split, though. Again, there's people
- 13:06Speaker 1: that say, I love it every year. Right. People got
- 13:09Speaker 1: engaged there before.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 1: And it's a really, we've seen the video. It's a
- 13:13Speaker 1: really nice setup.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Oh, I've driven past it a million times. Yeah, I
- 13:16Speaker 2: live near there. So I've seen it. It's dense. And
- 13:20Speaker 2: so every little bit of his property is taken up.
- 13:24Speaker 2: So I guess he spilled over a little.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Well, you know what? In just 10 days, they have
- 13:28Speaker 1: to go down. Yeah. It'll be November 1st.
- 13:30Speaker 2: And he does switch over to Christmas, I believe.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Oh, does he? Does he? All right. We'll see how
- 13:34Speaker 1: this plays out. All right. You have the headlines coming up, Christine.
- 13:36Speaker 1: And what else? Okay.
- 13:38Speaker 2: If you have to ask your man for a favor,
- 13:40Speaker 2: the perfect time of day to get him to do something.
- 13:43Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 13:49Speaker 1: It is exactly 7 o'clock Thursday morning, October 22nd. And
- 13:52Speaker 1: Christine Nagy has everything you need to know. Good morning, Christine.
- 13:55Speaker 2: And good morning, Cubby. And I know we're talking about
- 13:57Speaker 2: how bad the traffic is at the GW Bridge this
- 13:59Speaker 2: morning going in. Past couple of days, we've seen troubles
- 14:03Speaker 2: heading out. And we have more details on what had happened.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Police have charged a retired NYPD detective for the shooting
- 14:10Speaker 2: death of a man who was on the GW Bridge,
- 14:12Speaker 2: the upper deck. It was around 7 o'clock on Tuesday evening.
- 14:15Speaker 2: And they're thinking... that this is a case of road rage.
- 14:20Speaker 2: New York City has hit its maximum number when it
- 14:23Speaker 2: comes to red light cameras being installed around town. The
- 14:26Speaker 2: city has installed red light cameras at 600 intersections around
- 14:29Speaker 2: the five boroughs. They say that it really does make
- 14:32Speaker 2: a difference and it helps, but they're not supposed to
- 14:34Speaker 2: be installing any more unless they can change some rulings there.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Also today expected to be the beginning of the end
- 14:41Speaker 2: for the horse-drawn carriage industry in New York City. The
- 14:44Speaker 2: New York City Council to pass a bill today banning them.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Pope Leo's doctors are saying no further cancer treatment necessary
- 14:53Speaker 2: for lung surgery. The Vatican announcing Wednesday final testing confirmed
- 14:59Speaker 2: that the tumor removed last week was lung adenocarcinoma, but
- 15:04Speaker 2: that it was contained and they were able to get
- 15:07Speaker 2: it and the Pope doesn't need further treatment, just surveillance.
- 15:10Speaker 2: At this time, they'll scan him every few months to
- 15:12Speaker 2: make sure he's safe. Good. Wegmans is being recognized as
- 15:16Speaker 2: the nation's top retail workplace for the 11th consecutive year
- 15:20Speaker 2: by Fortune magazine. Their great place to work survey says
- 15:24Speaker 2: this is the supermarket. Wegmans is celebrating by offering free
- 15:27Speaker 2: mini cupcakes or clementines to customers at their store beginning
- 15:32Speaker 2: Saturday at 11 a.m. In sports basketball, Nets lost to
- 15:35Speaker 2: the Hornets 110-103. Thursday night football, Patriots play the Bears
- 15:40Speaker 2: at 8-15. And if we want our guy to say Yes,
- 15:44Speaker 2: when we're asking him to do something around the house,
- 15:47Speaker 2: do us a favor, take out the trash, whatever it is,
- 15:50Speaker 2: the optimal time would be 6 p.m. Men, because of
- 15:56Speaker 2: their mood swings or natural biorhythms, are most likely to
- 16:00Speaker 2: say yes in the evening. You want to approach them
- 16:03Speaker 2: when they're less likely to be cranky, which is later
- 16:06Speaker 2: in the day.
- 16:07Speaker 1: When the wife has to do it, it doesn't matter
- 16:09Speaker 1: what time. You just do it. You just do it.
- 16:13Speaker 2: You're so funny because we joke around. I'm like, Cubby,
- 16:15Speaker 2: could you take out the garbage? There he goes.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I do it.
- 16:17Speaker 2: You do it right away.
- 16:19Speaker 1: And I told you this off the air. I enjoy
- 16:20Speaker 1: taking the garbage out. I get to go outside for
- 16:22Speaker 1: a second, get a breath of fresh air.
- 16:24Speaker 2: We lose you for half an hour, right?
- 16:26Speaker 1: That's right. 20-minute walk. Yeah.
- 16:29Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine and the great music variety you
- 16:31Speaker 3: expect next on Light FM.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Speaking of dancing, Christine, if you go to a wedding
- 16:37Speaker 1: reception and you find that more and more people aren't
- 16:40Speaker 1: dancing these days, it may not be what you think. Yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 1: The music might be great. You're thinking, why are they
- 16:46Speaker 1: not dancing to these great songs?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Oh, yes. Happens to Eric. He plays weddings and he's like,
- 16:49Speaker 2: why aren't people dancing? What's going on?
- 16:51Speaker 1: But we think we might have a reason. By the way,
- 16:53Speaker 1: we're Light FM. It's Cubby and Christine. We're just chatting here. Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Kristen's hanging out producing our show. So, yeah, what's the reason?
- 17:00Speaker 2: Because we don't want to be shamed, Cubby. Thank you
- 17:02Speaker 2: very much.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Because of all the cameras.
- 17:04Speaker 2: All the cameras. So, look, this is actually a mental
- 17:07Speaker 2: health care provider, LifeStance Health, says they have taken a
- 17:11Speaker 2: look at this and they're finding the people least likely
- 17:14Speaker 2: to step out and dance are Gen Z. So that's us.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yes. Yeah, I believe.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Right?
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yes. I always forget.
- 17:21Speaker 2: We talk about it a lot.
- 17:22Speaker 1: No, Gen Z is younger. They're the younger generation.
- 17:24Speaker 2: We're Gen X.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Gen Z is Kristen.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 3: No.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Kristen's millennial.
- 17:27Speaker 1: You're millennial. All right.
- 17:28Speaker 2: None of us want to get out there and dance, basically.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Christine, you and I are Gen X, right?
- 17:31Speaker 2: We're Gen X.
- 17:32Speaker 1: But Gen Z, okay, they're afraid.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Of being Gen Z.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I'm surprised.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Honestly, I'm surprised because I thought it was going to
- 17:37Speaker 2: be Gen X because we get shamed. But it's actually
- 17:39Speaker 2: Gen Z because of what you just said, Cubby. I'm sorry.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Because they are getting shamed.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Shamed.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Because people are going, oh, check this out, and posting
- 17:48Speaker 2: it on socials. And it can be embarrassing.
- 17:50Speaker 1: And they're afraid they're going to be all over everyone's
- 17:53Speaker 1: TikTok and other songs we put underneath it. Right. They'll
- 17:56Speaker 1: become the butt of all the jokes. Yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 2: They said they don't want to act silly. There's like,
- 18:00Speaker 2: you know, like where you're supposed to be having fun
- 18:02Speaker 2: and you can let down and let loose. And it's
- 18:05Speaker 2: sad when you don't allow yourself on the dance floor.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I don't. Life is too short.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Just go.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Just dance. But maybe you should tell people, yeah, like
- 18:12Speaker 2: turn the phone around because we're not all great dancers.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I can't get through the door. So, you know, it's like,
- 18:21Speaker 2: it's okay. You're supposed to just be having a good time.
- 18:24Speaker 2: But they said they, you know, a lot of times,
- 18:27Speaker 2: and speaking of millennials that like falling into Kristen, and
- 18:30Speaker 2: I'm sure for us as well, you don't want to
- 18:33Speaker 2: be like Elaine from Seinfeld.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I've seen that. See that again.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I've seen that a lot.
- 18:38Speaker 1: That became viral. Right. That whole clip. That whole clip.
- 18:41Speaker 1: People don't want to be Elaine.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Went viral and then side by sides. They were at
- 18:44Speaker 2: a wedding and they saw somebody like that. So, so
- 18:47Speaker 2: yet we're getting embarrassed.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Do you dance? Do you think about cameras and all
- 18:51Speaker 1: that when you're at a party? You can hit us
- 18:53Speaker 1: up at 44363 on text. We'd love to hear from you.
- 18:56Speaker 1: But yeah, it's a darn shame.
- 18:58Speaker 2: You go to a wedding. You're supposed to. It's a
- 19:00Speaker 2: joyous event. You want to dance. Let us know.
- 19:02Speaker 1: All right, coming up, we got a trivia battle coming
- 19:06Speaker 1: up for, what tickets are we giving away?
- 19:08Speaker 2: Michelle Branch.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Michelle Branch. Yes. Oh, man, people are calling nonstop for
- 19:11Speaker 1: these Michelle Branch tickets. And we have more coming up
- 19:14Speaker 1: at 725 right here on Light FM.
- 19:16Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 19:22Speaker 1: You pretty good at trivia?
- 19:23Speaker 3: Light FM's Trivia Battle.
- 19:26Speaker 1: And a very happy Thursday to Christine Nagy. And on
- 19:29Speaker 1: Team Cubby, Trivia Battle is another Christine from Long Island.
- 19:33Speaker 1: And she's a person that has taken us up on
- 19:35Speaker 1: the offer to try, if you lose, try again. And
- 19:39Speaker 1: she lost. And welcome back, Christine. Remind us what you
- 19:41Speaker 1: do out there on Long Island. I'm a teacher. You're
- 19:44Speaker 1: a teacher. What grade do you teach? First grade. First grade.
- 19:48Speaker 1: My daughter's in first grade. So keep up the great work.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I think you do great work. I think all teachers
- 19:53Speaker 1: do great work.
- 19:53Speaker 2: I think so, too.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Christine, good luck on Team Cubby. Who's your competition, Christine?
- 19:57Speaker 2: We go back to Long Island, and we meet Megan.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Good morning, Megan.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 20:03Speaker 2: How about you? What do you do for a living?
- 20:05Speaker 1: I'm a nanny for a six-year-old little boy.
- 20:08Speaker 2: We have people taking care of our kids. That's so nice.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Important jobs here. Yes, yes. Well, thank you for taking
- 20:13Speaker 1: the time out of your busy day to try to
- 20:15Speaker 1: win a trivia battle. Christine, you're going to get three questions.
- 20:17Speaker 1: So will you, Megan. And the best out of three
- 20:19Speaker 1: will win our prize. Christine, here we go. Question number
- 20:23Speaker 1: one for you. Which of these is essential to making
- 20:27Speaker 1: an apple pie? A, lemon juice, B, milk, or C,
- 20:31Speaker 1: baking soda? Baking soda. That was my guess, actually. But
- 20:36Speaker 1: it's lemon juice. Lemon juice is essential to making an
- 20:40Speaker 1: apple pie. You drew us.
- 20:41Speaker 2: There a little bit.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 20:43Speaker 2: All right, Megan, who starred as a chef in the
- 20:46Speaker 2: restaurant-themed movie No Reservations? A, Sandra Bullock, B, Nicole Kidman,
- 20:51Speaker 2: or C, Catherine Zeta-Jones?
- 20:54Speaker 1: Catherine Zeta-Jones.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Yes, it was. You got it.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Megan with a 1-0 lead. Over to Christine. Christine, actress
- 21:02Speaker 1: Carrie Fisher played what character in Star Wars? Was it A, Padme? No. B, Ray,
- 21:08Speaker 1: or C, Princess Leia? Princess Leia. And you're on the board.
- 21:13Speaker 1: It is tied up 1-1.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Okay, Megan, what type of pasta is shaped like little
- 21:18Speaker 2: bow ties? A, farfalle, B, cavatappi, C, rigatoni?
- 21:25Speaker 1: Farfalle. Yes.
- 21:27Speaker 2: We've got two.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. Okay, Megan with the 2-1 lead. All right, Christine,
- 21:32Speaker 1: you really need this one. Let's tie it up. Game
- 21:35Speaker 1: one of the World Series starts tomorrow night. When was
- 21:39Speaker 1: the last time the Tampa Bay Rays played in the
- 21:42Speaker 1: World Series? A, 2015, B, 2020, or C, 2025? I'm sorry.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Can you just repeat the years again? Yeah. 2015, 2020,
- 21:50Speaker 1: or 2025, last time the Rays played in the World Series? 2015. 2015. 2015. No, Christine,
- 22:05Speaker 1: it was 2020. And with only one question correct, that
- 22:09Speaker 1: means Megan is our winner.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Megan is our winner. Congratulations, Megan and Christine. Call us again.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Just keep calling us.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Call, call, call. Congratulations, Megan. Thanks, guys.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Thank you. Megan, you are going to see Michelle Branch
- 22:25Speaker 2: at the Beacon Theater Thursday, November 5th.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Oh, thank you so much. I'm so excited. Yeah, thank you. Kristen,
- 22:32Speaker 1: we'll get your information and we'll send you on your way.
- 22:35Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Here's the visual here in the Light FM studio. We
- 22:43Speaker 1: all have edamame hanging out our mouth. Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen, edamame.
- 22:48Speaker 1: A big shout out to our friends at Teriyaki Madness
- 22:50Speaker 1: who dropped off food. They got a brand new limited
- 22:53Speaker 1: time chili crisp miso chicken yakisoba bowl. And loaded with
- 22:58Speaker 1: chicken teriyaki. They brought broccoli. They brought edamame in. They
- 23:02Speaker 1: brought a yakisoba noodles. Savory chili crisp miso sauce. It's
- 23:07Speaker 1: available through the holiday season. Check out teriyakimadness.com. Or just
- 23:12Speaker 1: stop by one of the locations. They have some around town.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yes, they're in New Rochelle. They're here in New York
- 23:16Speaker 2: City on 125th Street, East 125th. They're in North Babylon.
- 23:20Speaker 2: And they're in Yonkers. And they are so good. Thank you.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Thank you for the food drop. Teriyaki Madness. Guess what
- 23:27Speaker 1: time it is.
- 23:28Speaker 2: See, that music stresses me.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And I love it. I love to see you shake, Christine. Oh, boy.
- 23:35Speaker 1: There's a game tonight. I don't know if anybody's picking
- 23:37Speaker 1: tonight's game, but it's week seven. Is it week seven
- 23:41Speaker 1: of the NFL season already? Wow. So we have to
- 23:43Speaker 1: get our picks in for our Survivor Pool. For those
- 23:45Speaker 1: that don't know what a Survivor Pool is, it's a
- 23:47Speaker 1: knockout pool, basically. It's a season-long football contest where participants
- 23:52Speaker 1: pick one NFL team to win straight up each week.
- 23:56Speaker 1: There's no point spread involved. Your team just has to win.
- 23:59Speaker 1: You can only pick that team once, so you can't
- 24:02Speaker 1: reuse the team. So the picking is getting slimmer, Christine.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I see. So here we go. Let's go around the room.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Producer Kristen, due to a contract issue, cannot talk on
- 24:12Speaker 1: the air, but we'll speak with her. Okay. And she'll
- 24:15Speaker 1: tell us. Okay.
- 24:17Speaker 3: But.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Are you leaning towards a team? I'm going to go
- 24:18Speaker 1: to you first, Christine.
- 24:20Speaker 3: No, wait.
- 24:20Speaker 2: No, you guys go first because I don't know.
- 24:22Speaker 1: You want me to stall?
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah, stall.
- 24:24Speaker 1: It doesn't matter, by the way, if we pick the
- 24:25Speaker 1: same team. Like, I've never picked the Jets this year,
- 24:28Speaker 1: so I'm picking the Jets this week to beat the
- 24:30Speaker 1: Miami Dolphins. Jets will beat the Miami Dolphins. And I
- 24:34Speaker 1: will be fine. I have one strike. You guys are.
- 24:37Speaker 2: We have two.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Two, so you're eliminated. This is crucial. It's a very,
- 24:40Speaker 1: very big week for you guys.
- 24:40Speaker 2: What did Producer Kristen choose?
- 24:42Speaker 1: What did you choose? Jets. Okay.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Oh, she chose the Jets too?
- 24:45Speaker 1: And that's okay. You can pick the same team.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Oh, forget it now.
- 24:48Speaker 1: So if the Dolphins beat the Jets, then we're both... Well,
- 24:51Speaker 1: I got one strike and you're out again, Producer Kristen.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Because we let you back in.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Here's the problem. I was thinking about choosing the Jets too.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I don't want to do the same thing you guys
- 25:00Speaker 2: are doing.
- 25:01Speaker 1: It would be kind of boring if you picked the Jets,
- 25:03Speaker 1: but I don't want to steer you in any direction.
- 25:04Speaker 2: You can do whatever you want. What do you think
- 25:07Speaker 2: of the Bengals over the Ravens? But the Ravens are
- 25:11Speaker 2: at home. So I'm going out on a limb here.
- 25:15Speaker 1: That's tough. They're both... Let me see the records.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I'm going to go with the... Or should I just
- 25:19Speaker 2: stay with the Jets and be boring?
- 25:21Speaker 1: Well, keep in mind, if the Jets lose, then we're
- 25:23Speaker 1: all going to get.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Oh, and you're out, by the way.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. Kristen and I are out if that happens.
- 25:29Speaker 1: So I think you want to go for a more
- 25:31Speaker 1: surefire bet. Most people think the Jets are going to
- 25:33Speaker 1: beat the Dolphins, but then it's the Jets. So this
- 25:36Speaker 1: is the kind of game they might actually lose.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I mean, can I call a lifeline? Can I get advice?
- 25:43Speaker 2: Is that okay?
- 25:43Speaker 1: I don't think we've ever done that, but sure. We haven't.
- 25:45Speaker 1: What's your question to the audience? 44363.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Should I choose Bengals over the Ravens, which would make
- 25:51Speaker 2: things more interesting because Cubby and Kristen are both doing
- 25:55Speaker 2: Jets over the Dolphins. That's what I was going to choose.
- 25:57Speaker 2: But I want to do something different from you guys.
- 26:00Speaker 2: So what should I do? Should I do the Jets
- 26:03Speaker 2: or should I do the Bengals?
- 26:04Speaker 1: Give us a text at 44363. And if you are
- 26:07Speaker 1: going to help Christine with the Bengals-Ravens game, which team
- 26:10Speaker 1: should she pick? Okay. Ravens has the better record. They're 4-2.
- 26:14Speaker 2: And they're at home.
- 26:15Speaker 1: And Bengals are 3-2. Yeah. And the Ravens are at home. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 1: So what are you nodding, Christine? Don't pick the Ravens.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Don't pick the Ravens.
- 26:24Speaker 2: See, now my head's exploding.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Help Christine right now. 44363. We'll give you like a
- 26:29Speaker 1: few more minutes to simmer on this. Okay. And then
- 26:30Speaker 1: you can give us your pick. Even if you're not
- 26:32Speaker 1: picking tonight's game, you can give us the pick tomorrow. Oh, yes,
- 26:36Speaker 1: that's true. It doesn't matter. So think about it.
- 26:38Speaker 2: I can go home and think about this until I
- 26:40Speaker 2: really lose it.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:41Speaker 1: All right. So help Christine out. We're going to help
- 26:44Speaker 1: you out if your call are 10-1-800-222-1067. And I believe
- 26:48Speaker 1: it's Journey tickets, if I'm not mistaken.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Sir, it is.
- 26:51Speaker 1: It is.
- 26:51Speaker 2: You win a pair of tickets to see Journey Sunday,
- 26:53Speaker 2: October 25th. Hello, that's this Sunday.
- 26:55Speaker 1: What?
- 26:56Speaker 2: Prudential Center. Tickets available now at Ticketmaster.com or give us
- 27:00Speaker 2: a call.
- 27:00Speaker 1: We're giving the audience a lot to do. Call, win,
- 27:03Speaker 1: give us picks on texting. Yes. We'll give you three
- 27:06Speaker 1: hours commercial free next.
