Welcome to Bible Chat where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, April 22nd.
• 0:11
Fearless and free. Fear can make life feel smaller.
• 0:15
It can make you hide, overthink, compare, or believe you will
• 0:18
never really change. But Proverbs chapter 14 verses
• 0:23
26 to 27 says in the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence,
• 0:28
and the fear of the Lord is a fountain of life.
• 0:30
That kind of fear is not terror, it is reverence.
• 0:34
It is deep respect, trust, and all before the God who is holy,
• 0:38
loving and strong. Romans chapter 6 verse 6 says
• 0:42
that our old self was crucified with Christ so that we would no
• 0:46
longer be enslaved to sin. That means your past does not
• 0:49
have the final word. Your old patterns do not own
• 0:53
you. The shame you carry does not get
• 0:55
to define you. In Jesus, freedom is not just an
• 0:58
idea, it is a new reality. Sin and fear often whisper the
• 1:02
  same lie. You are stuck.
• 1:04
You cannot change. This is just who you are.
• 1:07
But the cross tells a better story.
• 1:09
Jesus did not die and rise again so you could remain chained to
• 1:13
the same darkness. He came to make you free.
• 1:16
Following God does not mean life becomes easy overnight.
• 1:20
You may still feel pressure, temptation, stress and self
• 1:23
doubt, but now you have a refuge, you have a place to run,
• 1:28
you have a Savior who gives strength when you feel weak.
• 1:30
So walk today with confidence, not because you are in control,
• 1:34
but because God is. Honor him, trust Him, run to
• 1:37
Him. The fear of the Lord does not
• 1:40
trap you, it frees you to live with courage.
• 1:43
Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
• 1:45
being my refuge and strength. Help me live in holy awe of you,
• 1:50
not in fear of my past or my weaknesses.
• 1:53
Remind me that in Christ I am no longer a slave to sin.
• 1:56
Teach me to walk in freedom, confidence and trust today in
• 2:00

Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 14, verses 26

to 27 World English Bible in the fear of Yahweh is a secure
• 3:17
fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.
• 3:21
The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, turning people from the
• 3:24
snares of death. Romans chapter 6 World English
• 3:28
Bible What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that
• 3:32
grace may abound? May it never be we who died to
• 3:36
sin. How could we live in it any
• 3:37
longer? Or don't you know that all of us
• 3:39
who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his
• 3:43
death? We were buried, therefore, with
• 3:45
him through baptism into death. That just as Christ was raised
• 3:49
from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might
• 3:52
walk in newness of life. For if we have become united
• 3:56
with Him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of
• 3:59
his resurrection. Knowing this, that our old man
• 4:03
was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away
• 4:07
with so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
• 4:11
For he who has died has been freed from sin.
• 4:14
But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live
• 4:17
with him, knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies
• 4:20
no more death, no longer has dominion over him.
• 4:24
For the death that he died, He died to sin one time, but the
• 4:28
life that he lives, he lives to God.
• 4:31
Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God
• 4:35
in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore don't let sin reign in
• 4:38
your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
• 4:42
Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of
• 4:46
unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from
• 4:49
the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to
• 4:52
God. For sin will not have dominion
• 4:55
over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
• 4:59
What then? Shall we sin because we are not
• 5:01
under law, but under grace? May it never be.
• 5:05
Don't you know that when you present yourselves as servants
• 5:07
and obey someone, you are the servants of whomever you obey,
• 5:11
whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
• 5:15
But thanks be to God that whereas you were bond servants
• 5:18
of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of
• 5:21
teaching to which you were delivered.
• 5:24
Being made free from sin, you became bond servants of
• 5:27
righteousness. I speak in human terms because
• 5:31
of the weakness of your flesh. For as you presented your
• 5:33
members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness
• 5:37
upon wickedness, Even so now present your members as servants
• 5:41
  to righteousness for sanctification.
• 5:45
For when you were servants of sin, you were free from
• 5:47
righteousness. What fruit then did you have at
• 5:49
that time in the things of which you are now ashamed?
• 5:52
For the end of those things is death.
• 5:55
But now, being made free from sin, and having become servants
• 5:59
of God, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result
• 6:02
of eternal life. For the wages of sin is death,
• 6:06
but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our
• 6:10
Lord. Thanks for joining us on Bible
