- 0:00Speaker 1: Did you have a story?
- 0:02Speaker 2: Yes, do I have time to tell it? Well, yeah,
- 0:04Speaker 2: about three minutes.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Okay, I'll tell it. To do it, I think, I
- 0:08Speaker 3: hope so, because it was very odd. So we went
- 0:11Speaker 3: to spring City over the weekend, just overnight, went to
- 0:15Speaker 3: see there's some bluegrass music being played there for free.
- 0:18Speaker 3: And my kid likes bluegrass music. And so we also
- 0:23Speaker 3: went to have lunch at a cafe in Spring City.
- 0:27Speaker 3: And so we're having lunch before we go over to
- 0:30Speaker 3: the bluegrass and we have, you know, just spend nice time,
- 0:34Speaker 3: and the restaurant is nice and the food is good.
- 0:36Speaker 3: And while we're eating lunch, my my child discovers somebody
- 0:42Speaker 3: had left a crayon on the table and started they
- 0:46Speaker 3: started drawing on a napkin and doodling and doodling some
- 0:50Speaker 3: characters from a video game that they like. And I
- 0:53Speaker 3: forget the name of the video game, to like a
- 0:56Speaker 3: one word video game, so doodling these, you know, drawings
- 1:00Speaker 3: from the video game, and the word help is associated
- 1:03Speaker 3: with the video games of help on the napkin and
- 1:07Speaker 3: do all this stuff and then says, and then it's
- 1:10Speaker 3: time to go, And.
- 1:11Speaker 2: He said, so I take that. I'll just leave it
- 1:13Speaker 2: here the left, the napkin on the table. I can
- 1:16Speaker 2: see where this is going.
- 1:18Speaker 3: So we go and we get in the car and
- 1:21Speaker 3: we go to the Bluegrass and then we go to
- 1:23Speaker 3: the place where we're staying. Later on, and it's maybe
- 1:26Speaker 3: seven o'clock at night. At eight o'clock at night, get
- 1:28Speaker 3: a phone call from my son, who's still in Salt Lake.
- 1:33Speaker 3: He said, the cops just just started talking to me.
- 1:36Speaker 3: He said, what he said, I was just getting out
- 1:39Speaker 3: of the car in full clown makeup. Of course, of course,
- 1:42Speaker 3: because because he was doing a show. He'd done a show,
- 1:46Speaker 3: and maybe it was later, maybe it was eight o'clock something.
- 1:48Speaker 3: He was doing a thing with the Fringe festival. Then
- 1:50Speaker 3: the cops came down the driveway. Is this such and
- 1:54Speaker 3: such an address? Yeah? Who lives here?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Is it?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Who?
- 1:58Speaker 2: He said?
- 1:59Speaker 3: Well, I live here? Do you live here with Ralph Allred? Well, yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 3: that's my dad, but he's not here right now. He's
- 2:06Speaker 3: in Spring City with with.
- 2:09Speaker 2: My mom and my uh my sibling.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Well, we got a welfare check, you know, welfare check
- 2:18Speaker 3: from this. I think the police, the chief of police
- 2:21Speaker 3: from Spring City called us and we we need to
- 2:25Speaker 3: check because they're afraid that that that this young person
- 2:30Speaker 3: is suicidal.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I am I am heartened that they took this seriously.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I think this is great. I am glad.
- 2:41Speaker 1: That I don't saw that and thought that there.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I don't I don't understand it because there was nothing,
- 2:48Speaker 3: there was nothing untoward going on.
- 2:52Speaker 1: They don't know that.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Well.
- 2:56Speaker 3: They said that they that they thought that this person
- 2:58Speaker 3: was suicidal, the person who left the napkin, there was suicide.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And I love that they took it seriously.
- 3:06Speaker 3: And what and I what I want to know is
- 3:08Speaker 3: why didn't the Spring City police, If they took it seriously,
- 3:12Speaker 3: why didn't the Spring City police? They had my license
- 3:16Speaker 3: somebody gave him my license plate number off the car.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Why didn't they come and get me? Well, why didn't
- 3:23Speaker 3: they come and find me? I was, I was at
- 3:25Speaker 3: the park.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They probably got did you pay with a credit card?
- 3:29Speaker 3: No, they got my light. They said, we had the
- 3:31Speaker 3: license number on the uh. We had the license number
- 3:35Speaker 3: from the car, the license plate number, and that's how
- 3:38Speaker 3: we tracked it down. So why, I just what that's
- 3:42Speaker 3: what bugs me about the whole thing is why didn't
- 3:45Speaker 3: they come and just find me? If it was so serious?
- 3:48Speaker 3: If it was so if everything was so, you know.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I am glad they took it seriously, and I hope that.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I just think it's weird. I think there are.
- 3:58Speaker 1: People that are in Gary situations and if they had
- 4:02Speaker 1: a crown and thought, no, maybe I'll write help and
- 4:04Speaker 1: they'll come help.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I Well, apparently they weren't.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Nobody was that upset about it because because the Salt
- 4:09Speaker 3: Lake City cops didn't do anything about it other than say,
- 4:12Speaker 3: oh okay, Aaron, Spring City, Huh yeah, they haven't come
- 4:16Speaker 3: back yet. No, okay, So yeah, who's who's who in
- 4:22Speaker 3: this situation was taking it seriously?
- 4:24Speaker 1: That's what I want to whoever saw that and said,
- 4:28Speaker 1: uh oh, we should call somebody and let them know.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I I think it's a good thing. Maybe someone at
- 4:35Speaker 2: the diner.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yeah, probably whoever was clearing the table.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I think if I saw a help and there.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Was a young person that had written it with some adults,
- 4:46Speaker 1: you don't know what the relationship is.
- 4:47Speaker 2: With the with those people. I take this as a positive.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I would have if so if it were me, and
- 4:56Speaker 3: I would the server, I would have said to the people,
- 5:01Speaker 3: is everything okay?
- 5:02Speaker 1: Well they might not have noticed till you left, like
- 5:04Speaker 1: they're clearing the table, and then there's a napkin there.
- 5:07Speaker 3: And they they they how did they get the license
- 5:11Speaker 3: play of the car? They they obviously were watching and
- 5:15Speaker 3: you know, well they were cleaning up the table and
- 5:18Speaker 3: saw that, and then and then they were watching to
- 5:21Speaker 3: see what car we went to exactly. They were watching
- 5:24Speaker 3: to see what car we went rather than saying, is
- 5:27Speaker 3: everything okay?
- 5:29Speaker 1: Would you approve?
- 5:31Speaker 2: I don't know, that's what I would do.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I think it's I think it's a positive. I'm glad
- 5:36Speaker 1: somebody's paying attention because because your situation is not scary,
- 5:41Speaker 1: but for somebody that might be in one, that should
- 5:44Speaker 1: be heartening for people to know that somebody would notice that.
- 5:47Speaker 3: I just want to know why, But why didn't If
- 5:50Speaker 3: it was that serious a situation, why didn't the Spring
- 5:54Speaker 3: City police come and find me?
- 5:58Speaker 2: They may not have known where you work? I mean,
- 6:00Speaker 2: how would they know you're at the park? Would they
- 6:02Speaker 2: know you're at the park? Just look around so we're
- 6:07Speaker 2: you know, that's what police do. They look around. How
- 6:10Speaker 2: many Spring City cops are there?
- 6:11Speaker 3: I don't know, not many. I don't have any idea.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I just think it's weird that they didn't that they
- 6:20Speaker 3: didn't you know.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Well, you know what, Carrie, He's right, nothing like that
- 6:26Speaker 1: happened to me this weekend. You're right, we were thinking
- 6:31Speaker 1: maybe we had nothing like that.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I thought it was very strange, the whole thing, and
- 6:37Speaker 3: and and plus why didn't they arrest my son?
- 6:41Speaker 2: Clown made nothing? They believe me if there was a law,
- 6:46Speaker 2: So the cop, he said.
- 6:48Speaker 3: The cop did say to him, but before he left,
- 6:50Speaker 3: he said, so, uh so, what's with the what's with this?
- 6:56Speaker 2: And he said, I was in a show at the
- 6:57Speaker 2: Fringe Festival. It would have been great if you.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Said, what's what are you talking about?
- 7:03Speaker 3: Sure with the French festival? And the cop said, yeah, clowns.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I don't I don't care for clowns.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, all right,
