- 0:00Speaker 1: There we go, 3.07 in the afternoon. Welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's Friday, June 5th. It's a gorgeous day outside, to
- 0:06Speaker 1: say the least. And I do mean gorgeous. It's 85
- 0:09Speaker 1: degrees and just a nice breeze. It's blowing perfect weather.
- 0:12Speaker 1: That's not too humid, just one of those great days.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hope you get a chance to enjoy it as we
- 0:17Speaker 1: go along here this afternoon. Rain in a forecast they
- 0:20Speaker 1: say for tomorrow. It's been awful dry. I mean, we
- 0:22Speaker 1: had that stretch of rainy weather. Seemed like it was
- 0:26Speaker 1: raining every day. Lately, we've had a stretch of dry days,
- 0:29Speaker 1: but got to break it up, I guess, with a
- 0:31Speaker 1: shower once in a while to keep things from drying out.
- 0:34Speaker 2: All right.
- 0:34Speaker 1: So that's how things are looking as far as weather
- 0:37Speaker 1: on Saturday. And I'm sure that the weekend in general
- 0:40Speaker 1: overall should be pretty nice for us. So we'll keep
- 0:44Speaker 1: you posted on that. Here's the problem with the Democrats.
- 0:48Speaker 1: A bill replacing mother and father with gender neutral terms
- 0:52Speaker 1: passes in New York and heads to the governor's desk.
- 0:57Speaker 1: New York Democrats recently passed a bill that would remove
- 1:00Speaker 1: the words mother and father from parts of state law,
- 1:05Speaker 1: sending a legislation to Governor Hochul's desk for final approval.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Under the new bill targeting state child custody and parental laws,
- 1:14Speaker 1: mother becomes gestating parents and father becomes non-gestating parents and
- 1:21Speaker 1: paternity becomes parentage. Can you imagine this? This is what's
- 1:27Speaker 1: wrong with the Democrat Party. And this is obviously in
- 1:31Speaker 1: New York. But the same thing applies to the Democrat
- 1:34Speaker 1: Party nationwide. They want to change the language. Do you
- 1:38Speaker 1: remember when Disney changed at their parks where they say
- 1:42Speaker 1: boys and girls? They changed it. Now they changed it
- 1:45Speaker 1: back to boys and girls once Trump got elected. But
- 1:47Speaker 1: when the Democrats were in charge, they were so politically
- 1:50Speaker 1: bizarre on our language that you couldn't say boys and girls.
- 1:55Speaker 1: And now you can see it's still taking place in
- 2:02Speaker 1: New York by eliminating the terms mother and father. Let's see.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Here's one out of Wisconsin. This goes back to March 4th, 2025.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Last year, Democrat Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers proposed to apparently
- 2:23Speaker 1: remove gender language from state law. So he wanted to
- 2:28Speaker 1: remove the term mother. He wanted to change mother to
- 2:32Speaker 1: inseminated person. And paternity to parentage. He also said several
- 2:46Speaker 1: other gender terms need to be changed. References to wife
- 2:49Speaker 1: or husband are changed to spouse in a proposal. In
- 2:54Speaker 1: other places, the word father is changed to parent, and
- 2:57Speaker 1: mother is swapped out for the phrase parent who gave
- 3:01Speaker 1: birth to the child. These people are crazy. I mean,
- 3:05Speaker 1: these people are absolutely crazy. This is the Democrat Party,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and they are crazy. I mean, they're absolutely crazy when
- 3:16Speaker 1: you get this kind of stuff. What else did I–
- 3:19Speaker 1: did you happen to see– do you believe the polls?
- 3:22Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Does anybody believe the polls anymore? Hard to say, right?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Really hard to say. But guess what? Here you go.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Listen to this. Fox News poll. Democrat unity, Republican crossover
- 3:39Speaker 1: shape Ohio Senate race. Are you sitting down? President Donald
- 3:44Speaker 1: Trump carried Ohio by more than 11 percentage points in 2024,
- 3:48Speaker 1: but a new Fox News survey finds his standing in
- 3:51Speaker 1: a Buckeye state has deteriorated. A development that is benefiting
- 3:55Speaker 1: Democrat Sherrod Brown in a Senate race. By a 15-point margin,
- 4:01Speaker 1: Ohioans view Trump negatively. 42% hold a favorable opinion. And 57%,
- 4:08Speaker 1: an unfavorable one. That's more than a 20-point swing compared
- 4:12Speaker 1: to his plus-six net positive rating, 52-46 in November 2024.
- 4:17Speaker 1: The Poll of Ohio Voters released Wednesday finds Trump's ratings
- 4:25Speaker 1: are about on par with the views of Republican incumbent
- 4:28Speaker 1: Senator John Husted. 41% favorable, 50% unfavorable. While Challenger and
- 4:34Speaker 1: former Ohio Senator Brown is viewed significantly more positively. 53% positive, 44% negative.
- 4:44Speaker 1: That helps Brown outperform Houston by a 53% to 45%
- 4:49Speaker 1: margin in the race to fill the Senate's seats. His
- 4:53Speaker 1: eight-point lead is outside the poll's margin of sampling error.
- 4:58Speaker 1: So they're saying what? When they did a poll of
- 5:01Speaker 1: the Senate race in Ohio... The guy that Senator Brown,
- 5:07Speaker 1: who agreed with everything Joe Biden did, Senator Brown, who
- 5:11Speaker 1: agrees with changing mother and father and all this wacky
- 5:14Speaker 1: Democrat stuff, he agrees with all this nonsense. He is
- 5:17Speaker 1: a far-left progressive. I mean, he was right there with
- 5:22Speaker 1: Joe Biden, right there with the Democrats, open border, and
- 5:26Speaker 1: he goes for all this crazy stuff. Goes for all
- 5:29Speaker 1: of it. And according to this, then, in Ohio... It's
- 5:35Speaker 1: a 53% to 45% lead. It's an eight-point lead in
- 5:43Speaker 1: the poll. 98% support among Democrats compared to Houston's 86%
- 5:53Speaker 1: among Republicans. Brown also receives backing from outside the Democrat base, 31%
- 5:59Speaker 1: of non-mega-Republicans. And 13% of all Republicans, only 2% of
- 6:05Speaker 1: Democrats pick Houston. Non-white voters favor Brown by 58 points.
- 6:14Speaker 1: So here's Sherrod Brown, as I say, that agreed with
- 6:20Speaker 1: everything that Joe Biden stood for. And he's a far-left Democrat.
- 6:26Speaker 1: And the Democrats want to get rid of the words
- 6:28Speaker 1: mother and father. All back to this nonsense. And he's leading...
- 6:34Speaker 1: In the Fox News poll for the Senate race in Ohio,
- 6:39Speaker 1: by eight points. Jeez. It's hard to imagine. And Trump's
- 6:47Speaker 1: popularity is down. I suspect that's because of the war.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I suspect that's because of the war. And I suspect
- 6:55Speaker 1: that's because of the economy. Like it or not, the
- 7:03Speaker 1: war on economy... are big issues. And I suspect his
- 7:07Speaker 1: popularity ratings are down. Trump, that is, because of the
- 7:10Speaker 1: war and the economy. Sherrod Brown is a longtime well-recognized name,
- 7:20Speaker 1: but he was defeated by Bernie Marino. Now, John Husted
- 7:25Speaker 1: is running against him. Husted was appointed by DeWine to
- 7:31Speaker 1: take the seat of J.D.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Vance.
- 7:34Speaker 1: And consequently, he's now running for that position. And liberal
- 7:41Speaker 1: progressive Sherrod Brown is beating him in the polls.
- 7:45Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:45Speaker 1: What do you make of that? There you go. There's
- 7:48Speaker 1: the latest. I mean, it's just, it's insane to me. Because,
- 7:52Speaker 1: I mean, the Democrats will go right back to the craziness.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I mean, that's where that party is anymore. That's why
- 7:59Speaker 1: I say when you take a look at this, the
- 8:00Speaker 1: party that wants to eliminate mother and father and change
- 8:03Speaker 1: all of these things, and they do. This is how
- 8:06Speaker 1: they are. And if you think they can fix the economy,
- 8:10Speaker 1: good luck with that. They destroyed it.
- 8:12Speaker 5: 330-729-9977.
- 8:12Speaker 6: 330-729-9977.
- 8:13Speaker 1: We'll get you through to us. I see that Denny
- 8:14Speaker 1: Malloy was successful in becoming the Republican chairman down in
- 8:16Speaker 1: Trumbull County. Seems like the Republican Party in Trumbull County
- 8:28Speaker 1: has a lot of controversy from within. From within. There's
- 8:34Speaker 1: a lot of fracturing from what I read in a
- 8:37Speaker 1: trip with the Republican Party in Trumbull County. We shall
- 8:42Speaker 1: see how things go as time goes on. You're on air.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Hello, Ronaldo.
- 8:48Speaker 7: I'm 74 years of age and I've voted in many,
- 8:51Speaker 7: many elections. I don't think I've missed half a dozen
- 8:53Speaker 7: in my lifetime because I make it a point to vote.
- 8:56Speaker 7: i voted for democrats i voted republicans but you know
- 9:00Speaker 7: ron who never loses the very rich very powerful corporations uh...
- 9:06Speaker 7: daily military-industrial complex you know we left right we could
- 9:11Speaker 7: tend to uh... fight democrat republican something that i agree
- 9:15Speaker 7: with democrats and so what same for republicans but the
- 9:18Speaker 7: but i believe that as long as we fight left
- 9:21Speaker 7: to right and right to left They're very rich and
- 9:24Speaker 7: they're powerful. They're happy to have us go at it
- 9:27Speaker 7: because they never seem to lose, Ron. Now, do you
- 9:30Speaker 7: think that if our name was on Epstein's list, whether
- 9:34Speaker 7: Democrat or Republican, what are the chances they'd hush that
- 9:38Speaker 7: up if it was just the Joe Bag of Donuts
- 9:40Speaker 7: and the guy that goes.
- 9:41Speaker 1: To work there? It wouldn't be hushed up at all.
- 9:47Speaker 7: The inside trading goes on. Let's bash equal opportunity bashers.
- 9:53Speaker 7: What Conor Biden did, if your son or my son
- 9:56Speaker 7: or somebody else did, they would be in jail. How
- 9:59Speaker 7: about Trump and his family and all his businesses being
- 10:03Speaker 7: exempt from the IRS? I mean, that's the plan anyhow.
- 10:07Speaker 7: There's two sets of rules. There's two sets of justice.
- 10:10Speaker 7: And as long as we keep fighting back and forth, which,
- 10:13Speaker 7: you know, I agree with some points, and you vote
- 10:15Speaker 7: for who you want. but you better pay attention to
- 10:18Speaker 7: really use pull the strings it where the oppression comes
- 10:21Speaker 7: from at more than left to right i think it
- 10:24Speaker 7: comes from pop-up and i think that's about somebody at
- 10:27Speaker 7: voted for many many times And that's what I've observed
- 10:30Speaker 7: in my lifetime.
- 10:31Speaker 1: So you observe the double standard that's going on. You're
- 10:35Speaker 1: saying there's a double standard of justice?
- 10:37Speaker 7: Justice, justice, laws. How about laws? Justice and laws. You
- 10:42Speaker 7: have taxation. You name it. There is one set of
- 10:46Speaker 7: rules for the upper, upper 1%, whoever they are, millionaires, billionaires,
- 10:50Speaker 7: rich and powerful, and everyone else has a different set
- 10:55Speaker 7: of rules. Money buys you the best lawyers in the country.
- 10:59Speaker 7: And I guess that's the way it's set up. And
- 11:01Speaker 7: if you can afford the best lawyers, your chance of
- 11:04Speaker 7: beating the rap is a whole lot better than somebody
- 11:06Speaker 7: being on public assistance with the same legal problems.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And in your opinion, it doesn't matter if it's Republicans
- 11:13Speaker 1: or Democrats, right? It's just the system, if I understand
- 11:15Speaker 1: you correctly.
- 11:16Speaker 7: Yeah, some issues, just like you were talking about the
- 11:20Speaker 7: pronouns and the men in the ladies' locker room and
- 11:22Speaker 7: all that stuff. And I can cite Republican issues, too. Sure,
- 11:27Speaker 7: those are important. But as long as we go back
- 11:29Speaker 7: and forth and we're occupied giving it to each other,
- 11:34Speaker 7: you know, arguing back and forth and fighting and who
- 11:36Speaker 7: knows what, and there's a lot of disruption going How
- 11:40Speaker 7: about the people at the top? When gasoline went to
- 11:42Speaker 7: $ 5 a gallon almost, are they still getting along okay?
- 11:46Speaker 7: The Heinz's and the Mellon's and the Rockefeller's? They're doing okay.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Yes, they're doing terrific. I mean, they pay more.
- 11:56Speaker 7: And how about the corporations? How about the gas companies?
- 12:00Speaker 7: Do you think the gasoline will come down as fast
- 12:03Speaker 7: as it went up? Record profits on all their businesses?
- 12:06Speaker 3: I mean..
- 12:08Speaker 7: So there's definitely two different sets of rules, regulations, laws, taxes.
- 12:13Speaker 7: That's my observation in some sense.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Do you foresee it ever changing? Because my answer to
- 12:18Speaker 1: you is I do not. I agree.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Make no mistake. I agree.
- 12:20Speaker 1: What do you think.
- 12:22Speaker 8: About the golden rule?
- 12:24Speaker 7: Those that have the gold make the rules.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I agree. I agree with everything you're saying.
- 12:28Speaker 7: The president, I'm really concerned he's going to end up
- 12:31Speaker 7: with an Obama-type settlement. Three things when this puzzle started.
- 12:37Speaker 7: The Strait of Hormuz, regime change, and the nuclear capability
- 12:42Speaker 7: of Iran. That's where my three things were. So when
- 12:44Speaker 7: he started, I was very glad to see these top-level
- 12:48Speaker 7: people get killed because they're absolutely no good. But there
- 12:53Speaker 7: was a very bad planning. They thought maybe the people
- 12:56Speaker 7: were going to operate, stick over the government. Apparently they
- 12:58Speaker 7: didn't know well enough that people without guns cannot take
- 13:02Speaker 7: over for the people that have guns. So as we
- 13:05Speaker 7: sit here today, after spending a billion dollars a day
- 13:08Speaker 7: to the deficit, a billion of the dollars a day,
- 13:11Speaker 7: the regime is hard-lined more so because they've withstand a
- 13:14Speaker 7: couple months of bombing, and they're still there. The Strait
- 13:18Speaker 7: of Hormuz is tougher to get through now than it
- 13:21Speaker 7: was before the war started. And how's anything with the
- 13:26Speaker 7: nuclear stockpile? How's that going?
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you're making perfect sense to me.
- 13:32Speaker 7: Well, boy, you've got to be in trouble.
- 13:34Speaker 1: No, I mean, this is what..
- 13:38Speaker 7: You know, everything we've been through, the cost of this,
- 13:40Speaker 7: and don't forget, some service people were killed in Kuwait.
- 13:42Speaker 7: There was a missile zone. But the three big items
- 13:45Speaker 7: in my book before this started, I think they're either
- 13:49Speaker 7: the same or they're worse. And now President Trump, God
- 13:53Speaker 7: bless him, he's done some good things, but he messed
- 13:56Speaker 7: up big time on this.
- 14:00Speaker 1: You mean the war?
- 14:01Speaker 8: Oh, the war.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yes, I'm sorry.
- 14:03Speaker 7: I like the border policy. He gave me a nice
- 14:08Speaker 7: tax rebate last year, and he doubled my standard deduction
- 14:11Speaker 7: as a senior citizen. But the wars, the war in Vietnam,
- 14:16Speaker 7: pick a war that we didn't understand the culture, we
- 14:19Speaker 7: didn't understand the people. So how are we doing today
- 14:24Speaker 7: as opposed to when this all started with Iran? You
- 14:27Speaker 7: tell me.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I will tell you that I think we would be
- 14:31Speaker 1: doing far better if this never would have happened. In
- 14:35Speaker 1: every way. In every single way, I think we would
- 14:38Speaker 1: have been much better off. Would you agree?
- 14:41Speaker 7: A billion and a half a day on the credit card.
- 14:43Speaker 7: Maybe not as much now. Our stockpile of munitions is depleted.
- 14:48Speaker 7: The emergency oil supply being run down. You know, Pittsburgh airport,
- 14:54Speaker 7: they stopped some flights that weren't profitable.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:57Speaker 9: Stand by.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Stand by.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Stand by. This guy makes a lot of sense. I'll
- 15:01Speaker 1: be right back with him.
- 15:04Speaker 10: I heart radio. 570 WKBN.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I just want you to know, I sat here as
- 15:11Speaker 1: I was listening to you make your statements. And I
- 15:14Speaker 1: want you to know, I agree with everything you've said.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Every observation that you made in your. you know, that
- 15:19Speaker 1: comes from years of wisdom. I'm sitting here saying, I
- 15:22Speaker 1: agree with every one of those observations, and I don't
- 15:24Speaker 1: see any of them changing anytime soon. I don't care
- 15:27Speaker 1: who's in power. And I think that's what..
- 15:29Speaker 7: I don't know if you caught that a little bit.
- 15:30Speaker 7: I said about the Pittsburgh International Airport has dropped flights
- 15:34Speaker 7: due to the cost of fuel. There was a flight
- 15:36Speaker 7: to California, I forget which airlines, because they couldn't charge enough...
- 15:41Speaker 7: that was a profitable buff so this list is going
- 15:44Speaker 7: to get worse before it gets better with this price
- 15:46Speaker 7: of i mean the petrol the fuel angry you know
- 15:49Speaker 7: the drop of their lives are dropping flights of the
- 15:51Speaker 7: one that are flying and uh... i just wish people
- 15:54Speaker 7: would say oh boy all democrats are wrong all republicans
- 15:58Speaker 7: are on campy that's lazy that's intellectually lazy i don't
- 16:02Speaker 7: agree with everything republican does a lot of agree with
- 16:04Speaker 7: every good democrat does so i just wish people would
- 16:07Speaker 7: call it as they see it you know i'm saying
- 16:09Speaker 7: that Pay attention to what's happening from up above, folks,
- 16:14Speaker 7: because they seem to get better off. It doesn't seem
- 16:19Speaker 7: to affect them. And as long as we're bickering back
- 16:22Speaker 7: and forth, they're going.
- 16:23Speaker 11: To be happy.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Well stated. Bravo.
- 16:27Speaker 12: Ron, I appreciate your show.
- 16:28Speaker 7: Keep up the good work.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Thank you. I appreciate everything that guy had to say.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Totally agree with him. You're on air.
- 16:34Speaker 13: Yeah, well, on the way back from Rogers Flea Market today,
- 16:36Speaker 13: I saw gas at $ 3. 99. So it is starting to
- 16:39Speaker 13: come down.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean, see, it's like, oh, it's down
- 16:43Speaker 1: to $ 4 a gallon. Well, okay, so? I mean, it
- 16:48Speaker 1: was $ 2.
- 16:48Speaker 14: 50.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I mean, I understand what this guy's saying. And I
- 16:53Speaker 1: don't know, where would we have been economically if he
- 16:56Speaker 1: would have never got into this mess in the first place?
- 17:00Speaker 1: And now he's trying to figure out a way to
- 17:01Speaker 1: get out of this mess.
- 17:02Speaker 13: Well, the one thing I disagree with what he said
- 17:07Speaker 13: was that he doesn't understand the culture and who he's
- 17:09Speaker 13: dealing with in Iran. I think he actually does. I
- 17:14Speaker 13: think he totally understands it. So he's going at their throats.
- 17:17Speaker 13: It's the only way. So we did well at Rogers today,
- 17:22Speaker 13: and Brian Massey had an update this morning. I don't
- 17:24Speaker 13: know if you got to watch.
- 17:25Speaker 3: It on YouTube.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I did not. What is the update?
- 17:28Speaker 13: So we're going to continue to collect for another year,
- 17:30Speaker 13: and we'll try to get everything in by June 1, 2027,
- 17:34Speaker 13: to get on the 2027 ballot. And I don't think
- 17:37Speaker 13: we'll have a problem doing that.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Did he give a number as far as signatures?
- 17:40Speaker 11: No.
- 17:41Speaker 15: Nope.
- 17:43Speaker 13: No numbers since the one he gave in April, which
- 17:45Speaker 13: was around 300,000. So we know we could double that
- 17:48Speaker 13: in a year.
- 17:50Speaker 1: And you want to get $ 600, 000. And you met all
- 17:51Speaker 1: the requirements of the 44 counties. We did, yep.
- 17:54Speaker 16: Well past that.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Right. I mean, that is a monumental effort. I mean,
- 18:04Speaker 1: as I've told everybody, traditionally when you try to get
- 18:07Speaker 1: a constitutional amendment on the Ohio ballots, you hire organizations
- 18:13Speaker 1: to collect these signatures, and it costs millions of dollars.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Millions of dollars. This is all volunteers.
- 18:18Speaker 13: For everyone who's being negative, it's like, well, how long
- 18:21Speaker 13: do you think it should take 2,000 circulators to get
- 18:23Speaker 13: 600,000 signatures? You know, more people need to get off
- 18:28Speaker 13: their chair. I did pick up another signing station here
- 18:32Speaker 13: in Mahoning County. It's Creekside Auto in Struthers.
- 18:35Speaker 15: Great patriot.
- 18:36Speaker 13: You should stop by and sign the petition. So it's
- 18:39Speaker 13: just not enough people got involved. So it's on our backs,
- 18:42Speaker 13: I guess, to finish it. And we will.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I certainly think another year. That's a year from today.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Did you say next year, next June?
- 18:53Speaker 5: Yes.
- 18:54Speaker 13: Well, yeah, it's going to have to go on the
- 18:56Speaker 13: November 27 ballot. So if we can get another 300,000,
- 19:00Speaker 13: which we will, or even more than that, that's all
- 19:03Speaker 13: the better. That's all the better. We're just going to
- 19:06Speaker 13: keep going. You know, a lot of people haven't even
- 19:08Speaker 13: heard of our initiative, believe it or not. When you're
- 19:11Speaker 13: out talking to people they haven't even heard about.
- 19:13Speaker 1: How is that? I mean, doesn't that trouble you that
- 19:16Speaker 1: somebody could be that oblivious to what's going on?
- 19:20Speaker 13: Well, yes and no. I mean, not everybody gets a
- 19:22Speaker 13: newspaper anymore. People get their news from the web.
- 19:27Speaker 11: It just depends on where.
- 19:28Speaker 3: You go, I guess.
- 19:29Speaker 13: Not everybody has Facebook. Not everybody listens to the Ron
- 19:33Speaker 13: Verbe show in Mahoney County and Stark and all these counties.
- 19:36Speaker 9: They should.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Damn right they should. But, you know, I mean, it's
- 19:41Speaker 1: just really strange to me. I mean, it's strange to
- 19:45Speaker 1: me how, I don't know, how uninformed so many people are.
- 19:49Speaker 1: They're just kind of living in their own bubble and
- 19:51Speaker 1: they don't want to, hey, man, I don't want to
- 19:53Speaker 1: know what's going on. I don't want any negativity. I
- 19:55Speaker 1: just want to just kind of enjoy the moment. But
- 20:00Speaker 1: you have a responsibility, I think.
- 20:02Speaker 3: In our..
- 20:02Speaker 16: News Radio 570 WKVN. Back to it.
- 20:07Speaker 1: There we go.
- 20:08Speaker 10: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And Ron Verb, you're on the air.
- 20:17Speaker 11: That young lady's hardcore, man. Keep it up.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I sit back and I look at, with a great
- 20:24Speaker 1: deal of admiration, I mean, it's easy to go sign
- 20:28Speaker 1: a petition, but the amount of time and hours that
- 20:32Speaker 1: she puts out there and volunteers is When you're at
- 20:35Speaker 1: home in the air conditioning or you're washing your car,
- 20:38Speaker 1: enjoying your family, and she's out gathering signatures, not just
- 20:43Speaker 1: her and Becky and a group of people that are
- 20:46Speaker 1: with her. These are wonderful people, great volunteers that put
- 20:50Speaker 1: their free time out there and gather this stuff. I
- 20:52Speaker 1: just think it's admirable. I mean, I'd be the first
- 20:54Speaker 1: one to tell you I could not do that. I
- 20:56Speaker 1: could not devote that much time. And for you to
- 21:01Speaker 1: show up and to sign a petition, I think, is
- 21:03Speaker 1: the least... least you can do?
- 21:06Speaker 11: Dennis Prager, uh, said there's three types of people. Uh,
- 21:10Speaker 11: there's the fighters, those who help the fighters and those
- 21:14Speaker 11: who do nothing. I never want to, I never want
- 21:17Speaker 11: to be in that last group of doing nothing. So the, uh,
- 21:23Speaker 11: The pro-life people drop off flyers every election here on
- 21:26Speaker 11: our porch and send me a text message, hey, your
- 21:30Speaker 11: things are there. When you go to church, hand these
- 21:32Speaker 11: out if you would.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Right?
- 21:34Speaker 11: It's just doing something. It's just doing something. Because I can't,
- 21:42Speaker 11: I couldn't take it if my side loses and I
- 21:47Speaker 11: didn't do anything to fight for them.
- 21:49Speaker 17: You know?
- 21:50Speaker 9: And it's... I'm not.
- 21:52Speaker 11: Asking you, Ron, to be a cheerleader, but when the
- 21:58Speaker 11: other issues are out there. So, okay, you have personal
- 22:03Speaker 11: reasons to be against the Iran thing. You have fiscal
- 22:08Speaker 11: reasons to be against it.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I get it.
- 22:10Speaker 11: That's all fine. I look at the other side of
- 22:15Speaker 11: the ledger and go, border, bam.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I still support Trump over any of the Democrats. I
- 22:25Speaker 1: support Houston over Sherrod Brown. Make no mistake about it.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I can be critical of this particular thing, but the
- 22:31Speaker 1: Democrats are certainly not an option at all.
- 22:35Speaker 11: I know, and we have Jews, Bernie Sanders, I know
- 22:39Speaker 11: they're not practicing, Charles Chuck E. Cheese Schumer, supporting Graham Platner.
- 22:46Speaker 11: You have the Nazi death camp tattoo on your chest.
- 22:51Speaker 11: You people have called Trump and all the people supporting
- 22:57Speaker 11: Trump Nazis for 10 years.
- 23:00Speaker 1: And you're defending one. You're defending a guy with that tattoo.
- 23:04Speaker 11: Obviously, you don't care about Nazism at all. This guy
- 23:09Speaker 11: actually is. You never said it about Trump before when
- 23:12Speaker 11: you were invited to your parties and your weddings of
- 23:15Speaker 11: your daughter and everything else. He was fine. Now, all
- 23:18Speaker 11: of a sudden, he's a Nazi, but the guy with
- 23:20Speaker 11: the Nazi tattoo is not. People, what are you doing?
- 23:26Speaker 11: And then, oh, I'm sexting little girls. Oh, I'm beating
- 23:30Speaker 11: up the other lady.
- 23:31Speaker 4: No.
- 23:34Speaker 11: You really have dropped all standards, right? When I'm a kid,
- 23:41Speaker 11: there's a Jim Traffick and a Daniel Patrick Moynihan. speaking
- 23:47Speaker 11: the truth, saying what's right as Democrats. Not the only ones,
- 23:52Speaker 11: but now the whole political system is so bad, you
- 23:57Speaker 11: have a political hack only there because her daddy gave
- 24:03Speaker 11: her the job, Lisa Murkowski. I'll always vote against Trump.
- 24:08Speaker 11: You have Mitch McConnell, who it's the Republicans' fault that
- 24:15Speaker 11: he's still there. The guy stands up there and goes
- 24:19Speaker 11: blank for 36 seconds on multiple occasions, and you Republicans
- 24:26Speaker 11: think it's okay that he's still there. It's not okay.
- 24:30Speaker 11: It's not okay. A guy who just made money being
- 24:34Speaker 11: there his whole entire career, gave his wife a job,
- 24:38Speaker 11: got her all the money in the world, and the
- 24:40Speaker 11: deals with the communist Chinese— oh, I'm sorry, I shouldn't speak
- 24:44Speaker 11: ill of the communist Chinese— or the Nazis, because you
- 24:48Speaker 11: have a bunch of callers now who appreciate the Nazis
- 24:51Speaker 11: and Communist Chinese and say the illegals don't take anything
- 24:54Speaker 11: from America. But it's okay. It is wrong to sit
- 25:00Speaker 11: there and say, if you said, oh, all Republicans are
- 25:04Speaker 11: right and all Democrats are wrong. That's not true. Can
- 25:08Speaker 11: you vote for a Democrat?
- 25:09Speaker 6: No.
- 25:11Speaker 11: Because even if, like the guy arguing with you the
- 25:15Speaker 11: other day, well, Ron, I don't like transgenderism. I don't
- 25:19Speaker 11: like boys beating up on girls in sports. And I
- 25:23Speaker 11: don't like, it's okay. But the people you vote for do.
- 25:27Speaker 11: And they support it. And they won't back off from it.
- 25:30Speaker 11: It's just the way it is. I don't want it
- 25:34Speaker 11: to be like that. I wish you could vote for
- 25:36Speaker 11: a Democrat today. You can't. If you have any kind
- 25:39Speaker 11: of conscience, you can't. They don't want to open the border.
- 25:43Speaker 11: They don't want. How long do we fight against prescription
- 25:47Speaker 11: drug prices? And Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi said, well, well, well,
- 25:52Speaker 11: you know what? If we make our prices lower, we
- 25:55Speaker 11: won't have the entrepreneurism and they won't be making new drugs.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Guess what? Yes, they will.
- 26:02Speaker 11: And I think that's what I was going to say. Another, what,
- 26:09Speaker 11: 50 drugs on the, hey, we get the same price
- 26:12Speaker 11: as anybody else in the world. It's only fair. The
- 26:15Speaker 11: other thing Abraham Simpson never answered was, well, what would
- 26:19Speaker 11: you do if you don't like the tariffs?
- 26:22Speaker 3: What would you do?
- 26:24Speaker 11: But if you don't have an answer, because there's not
- 26:26Speaker 11: a good answer except for what Trump does, or what
- 26:29Speaker 11: Ross Perot said, or what Pat Buchanan said. That's the
- 26:33Speaker 11: correct answer. Trump's the only one smart enough, strong enough
- 26:38Speaker 11: to do it, and willing to take the slings and
- 26:41Speaker 11: arrows from his own side. The Republicans are running against
- 26:46Speaker 11: him just as much as the Democrats are. And, again, did...
- 26:54Speaker 11: Is it Alec or Alex?
- 26:55Speaker 4: Alec.
- 26:57Speaker 11: Okay, did Alec ever call in and answer Jake, the Zionist,
- 27:02Speaker 11: question about, what are we going to do when Ron
- 27:05Speaker 11: turns 103 and he's like, oh, I just can't do
- 27:08Speaker 11: this job anymore. There's too much stress when you're 103, right?
- 27:15Speaker 11: What are we supposed to do? Like the super young
- 27:19Speaker 11: lady was just on saying, some people don't listen to
- 27:22Speaker 11: Ron Rourke.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Hard to imagine, isn't it? It's just hard to imagine.
- 27:29Speaker 11: It's sad to imagine.
- 27:31Speaker 1: It is. It's depressing.
- 27:33Speaker 11: Casey Malone will be turning over in her grave.
- 27:36Speaker 1: She's not dead. She's still alive. What?
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yes.
- 27:38Speaker 13: What?
- 27:39Speaker 18: Yes.
- 27:39Speaker 11: What's going on? How come?
- 27:42Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 27:43Speaker 18: All right.
- 27:44Speaker 11: But seriously, how are we all going to stay connected
- 27:47Speaker 11: and help this young lady fight? Right?
- 27:49Speaker 15: Right.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Well, we'll do it for as long as we can.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 28:01Speaker 11: But we have to have that plan in place for
- 28:03Speaker 11: what we're going to do because we have to keep fighting.
- 28:07Speaker 11: We made it this far and things are a lot better, right?
- 28:11Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:12Speaker 11: More illegals leaving than coming in. For the first time
- 28:17Speaker 11: in history, we sent somebody to jail for 40 years
- 28:20Speaker 11: for doing the fraud. It's taking off the American taxpayer.
- 28:25Speaker 11: That's what I'm saying about all the good news. You
- 28:28Speaker 11: know what? You can have your discussions. That's super. I'm
- 28:32Speaker 11: going to be the cheerleader because all of these things
- 28:36Speaker 11: are so much better or unbelievably better than the Bushes. Right.
- 28:42Speaker 11: Let's just say Bushes.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Then not only the Bushes. Name the Democrats. Name the
- 28:48Speaker 1: Republicans if you're saying that you still are overall satisfied
- 28:51Speaker 1: with what Trump has done. I would agree with that.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I would definitely agree with that. I can disagree with him,
- 28:57Speaker 1: and you and I can disagree on the war, but
- 29:00Speaker 1: that doesn't mean that we're not on the same plane.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Let's put it that way, okay? Different seats, but the
- 29:04Speaker 1: same plane.
- 29:05Speaker 11: And it's not even that I'm for it. It's just
- 29:08Speaker 11: that I'm so for Trump and his team. And guess what?
- 29:12Speaker 11: What's the next one going to be?
- 29:14Speaker 1: J.D.
- 29:14Speaker 11: Vance, Marco Rubio? Rock on. Let's go.
- 29:18Speaker 1: All right, Jake. Thank you. Appreciate it. Rock on. You're
- 29:21Speaker 1: on the air.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Hello.
- 29:22Speaker 8: Hey, Ron, I want to talk about Iran.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yes, sir. If that's okay with you.
- 29:26Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 29:28Speaker 11: Well, I'll give you my opinion.
- 29:30Speaker 4: If I was Trump, what I would do.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 29:32Speaker 8: But, you know, you talked about this. A lot of
- 29:35Speaker 8: people call in and talked about this. I might as
- 29:37Speaker 8: well bring it up one more time. You know, before
- 29:42Speaker 8: I get on Israel, before this all, go back to 79.
- 29:46Speaker 8: It's been, what, 47 years now since, you know, that guy,
- 29:50Speaker 8: what do you want to call him over there, the sheikh, whatever,
- 29:53Speaker 8: that took over Iran, and then they just turned that
- 29:57Speaker 8: country into a mess. When they took the hostages when
- 30:00Speaker 8: it started. You know, Reagan, you know, we've been through this.
- 30:03Speaker 8: I heard you mention it a million times. I'm going
- 30:05Speaker 8: to bring it up one more time. Reagan got in there,
- 30:08Speaker 8: didn't do nothing.
- 30:10Speaker 11: Bush Sr.
- 30:10Speaker 8: Didn't do nothing. Clinton didn't do nothing.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Bush Jr.
- 30:14Speaker 8: Didn't do nothing. Obama didn't do nothing. And Trump didn't
- 30:18Speaker 8: do nothing. And then come Biden. Now Trump's going to
- 30:21Speaker 8: do something about it. Now, I heard you say, you know, about... Israel,
- 30:27Speaker 8: that Trumpster puppet, and I get it to a certain extent,
- 30:34Speaker 8: but I'm going to be the scapegoat, and I'm going
- 30:39Speaker 8: to stick up for Israel a little bit. Now, you know,
- 30:43Speaker 8: I go back to October 7th, and, you know, I'm
- 30:48Speaker 8: not going to bang on Obama to all you Obama
- 30:50Speaker 8: supporters or Biden, honestly. But they did do this. They
- 30:55Speaker 8: sent money over to Iran, especially Obama. You know, Iran,
- 30:59Speaker 8: they funded Hamas. And, you know, and Hamas went in
- 31:05Speaker 8: there and massacred 1,000 people that day. And then they
- 31:09Speaker 8: took hostages. So, you know, you've got to understand Israel's
- 31:13Speaker 8: point of view. Now, the only thing with.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Israel is they've got to be a little.
- 31:18Speaker 8: Bit more responsible because they do have nuclear warheads. Everybody
- 31:22Speaker 8: knows it. They got them. How many? We don't know,
- 31:25Speaker 8: but they do have the bomb. Now, back to Trump.
- 31:30Speaker 8: Trump did the right thing when he did go in
- 31:32Speaker 8: there and bomb their nuclear site with the uranium and everything. Now,
- 31:38Speaker 8: if I was Trump, this is just my opinion because
- 31:42Speaker 8: everybody says we don't know it. Trump don't know how
- 31:44Speaker 8: he's going to get out of this. Nobody knows how
- 31:45Speaker 8: they're going to get out of this. If I was
- 31:48Speaker 8: in Trump's shoes, right or wrong, what I would do
- 31:51Speaker 8: is I'd make the deal with Iran and say, listen,
- 31:53Speaker 8: it's going to be like this. Open that straight up.
- 31:56Speaker 8: You don't own it. That's international waters. Number two, we're
- 32:00Speaker 8: going to put at least a 25-mile radius around that
- 32:04Speaker 8: uranium that we bombed. And we're going to wash that
- 32:08Speaker 8: day in and day out. And if anybody goes into
- 32:11Speaker 8: that 25-mile zone, we will kill them. Plain and simple.
- 32:16Speaker 8: Or what Trump can say is, we're bringing our heavy
- 32:19Speaker 8: equipment in there in a 25-mile radius. We're going to
- 32:23Speaker 8: dig that uranium out, and we're going to take it.
- 32:26Speaker 8: And that's the end of it. And just walk away
- 32:28Speaker 8: from it. Let them just be done with the country.
- 32:32Speaker 8: That's the only way I can see that he can
- 32:36Speaker 8: get out of this. Anybody who has a better suggestion,
- 32:39Speaker 8: come up with it. What else are you going to do?
- 32:41Speaker 8: Unless you're going to send the troops, put the troops
- 32:44Speaker 8: on the ground, send them in there. And now you're
- 32:47Speaker 8: going to have a full-blown war. Now, I notice people
- 32:49Speaker 8: have been saying, yeah, the Iran war. Well, it's actually
- 32:52Speaker 8: not a war because they don't have no ships. They're
- 32:55Speaker 8: down at the bottom of the sea.
- 32:57Speaker 1: They don't have no tanks.
- 32:58Speaker 8: They have no planes. They got nothing. They got nothing.
- 33:02Speaker 8: And the only logic way I can come up with
- 33:08Speaker 8: is say, listen, we're going to pull out.
- 33:10Speaker 14: That's it.
- 33:11Speaker 8: We're going to put a radius around that uranium. at
- 33:15Speaker 8: least 25 miles, and don't go nowhere near it. And
- 33:18Speaker 8: then open it straight up and let business as usual
- 33:22Speaker 8: go on. Other than that, I don't know any other suggestions.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Well, I guess all of that is probably easier said
- 33:30Speaker 1: than done. I mean, I don't know how you're going
- 33:33Speaker 1: to open it straight up because, see, there's many factors
- 33:37Speaker 1: involved in this. The first thing is a logistics factor.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Look how far away it is from the United States.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I mean, this is not an easy thing to continue
- 33:49Speaker 1: to deal with because of where it's located, the geography
- 33:54Speaker 1: of things to begin with. I mean, it seems to
- 33:57Speaker 1: me that this is their homeland, just as Vietnam, just
- 34:03Speaker 1: as Afghanistan was. I mean, it's different. It's their motivation
- 34:12Speaker 1: is probably more intense than ours because it's their country.
- 34:18Speaker 1: You follow me? I mean, as we've seen in the
- 34:21Speaker 1: past with people that said, OK, I mean, we bombed
- 34:25Speaker 1: the hell out of them in Vietnam. How successful was it?
- 34:28Speaker 1: I mean, we put two troops on the ground. Well,
- 34:31Speaker 1: it wasn't very successful. We've done this how many times
- 34:35Speaker 1: in the Middle East? And it hasn't been very successful. Hell,
- 34:38Speaker 1: we gave Afghanistan back to the people we took it
- 34:40Speaker 1: from in better shape with all the equipment there. They
- 34:44Speaker 1: were better off. So what was the point? So, I mean,
- 34:48Speaker 1: if you– I don't– I say this again. You have
- 34:52Speaker 1: to understand their culture, what the majority of their people think.
- 34:56Speaker 1: They don't think like you. They're in a different part
- 34:59Speaker 1: of the globe. They've got a different mentality than you,
- 35:02Speaker 1: different lifestyle than you, different standards than you, and they
- 35:05Speaker 1: don't think like you.
- 35:06Speaker 10: Youngstown's News, Weather, and Talk Station, 570 WKBN. Let me
- 35:12Speaker 10: go back to that guy.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Are you there?
- 35:15Speaker 15: Hello?
- 35:16Speaker 1: Hang on, hang on. I think it's here.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Hello?
- 35:19Speaker 8: Okay, Ron, I'm here.
- 35:20Speaker 1: All right. I mean, here's the reality. I mean... As
- 35:25Speaker 1: I say, I think he, in my opinion, made a
- 35:27Speaker 1: mistake getting in day one. Once again, I think Israel
- 35:30Speaker 1: brought him into it. I think the bunker buster either
- 35:33Speaker 1: was effective or it wasn't effective. And it seems to
- 35:35Speaker 1: me it was effective. And I don't think that they
- 35:38Speaker 1: were that big of a threat to the United States
- 35:41Speaker 1: of America at all. So it's spill milk. I mean,
- 35:44Speaker 1: he got into it. It probably is not gone how
- 35:47Speaker 1: he would like it to go and didn't get him
- 35:50Speaker 1: to cave in. And that doesn't appear that there's any
- 35:54Speaker 1: sign of that happening anytime soon. I don't even know
- 35:58Speaker 1: who you're talking with or who you're negotiating with because
- 36:01Speaker 1: so many people in that structure have been eliminated and
- 36:04Speaker 1: the other ones have been eliminated. So who is in
- 36:06Speaker 1: charge and who can make the decisions and who's running
- 36:09Speaker 1: a show? I would only hope that they would know that.
- 36:12Speaker 1: I want to make one more comment. Well, you're going
- 36:15Speaker 1: to have to hang on and I'll get to you
- 36:17Speaker 1: after the headlines.
- 36:23Speaker 19: From ABC News. I'm Mike Dabosky. President Trump is pushing
- 36:28Speaker 19: for Bill Pulte, the incoming acting director of national intelligence,
- 36:32Speaker 19: to reduce the size of the nation's spy agencies. More
- 36:35Speaker 19: from ABC's Karen Travers at the White House.
- 36:37Speaker 20: He reportedly told the Wall Street Journal that Bill Pulte,
- 36:40Speaker 20: in this role as acting director of national intelligence, could
- 36:43Speaker 20: really shake things up, downsizing the ODNI.
- 36:47Speaker 16: He could also push forward to.
- 36:49Speaker 20: Release classified documents related to the 2020 election, something that,
- 36:52Speaker 20: of course, President Trump likes to talk about a lot
- 36:55Speaker 20: and has said that the idea of having an acting
- 36:58Speaker 20: official in this role gives.
- 37:00Speaker 16: You more power.
- 37:01Speaker 19: Today, a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C. heard arguments
- 37:04Speaker 19: in the case of President Trump's plans to build a
- 37:06Speaker 19: new White House ballroom with lawyers for the president looking
- 37:09Speaker 19: to throw out a lower court decision which had halted construction.
- 37:13Speaker 21: A lawyer for the Justice Department told the appellate judges
- 37:15Speaker 21: it's the administration's view that courts cannot stop the ballroom's construction.
- 37:20Speaker 21: and that the National Trust for Historic Preservation in particular
- 37:23Speaker 21: doesn't have standing to sue. Obama appointed Judge Patricia Millett
- 37:26Speaker 21: posed this hypothetical.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Bulldoze the Statue of Liberty.
- 37:29Speaker 21: She asked DOJ Attorney Yakov Roth, if the president suddenly
- 37:32Speaker 21: decided to demolish the famous statue in New York Harbor,
- 37:35Speaker 21: would no one have standing to sue?
- 37:37Speaker 11: Nothing can be done.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I think that's right, yes.
- 37:40Speaker 16: Stephen Portnoy, ABC News, Washington.
- 37:42Speaker 19: Job numbers for May were almost double what analysts had
- 37:45Speaker 19: been expecting. University of Michigan economics professor Justin Wolfers tells
- 37:49Speaker 19: ABC News that lowers the chance of a recession this year.
- 37:52Speaker 22: We had a pretty miserable 2025, but it looks like
- 37:55Speaker 22: the middle or the early and middle parts of 2026.
- 37:59Speaker 22: really suggests the labor market's moving along. And I think
- 38:02Speaker 22: the thing this will really do is it's time to
- 38:04Speaker 22: stop talking about the word recession. Recessions don't happen when
- 38:08Speaker 22: the labor market's motoring along like this.
- 38:10Speaker 19: And it's a life sentence for Brendan Banfield, the man
- 38:13Speaker 19: convicted earlier this year in the murder of his wife
- 38:15Speaker 19: and one other person. You're listening to ABC News.
- 38:23Speaker 16: Radio 570 WKBN.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's 4 or 6 in the afternoon. News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 38:29Speaker 1: All right. But I'm going back to just when you're
- 38:32Speaker 1: talking about the whole situation. Here's what my problem is
- 38:36Speaker 1: with it. I ask everybody this. Where do you think
- 38:39Speaker 1: we would be economically in our country if he hadn't done.
- 38:43Speaker 11: Any of this?
- 38:44Speaker 4: We've been doing good.
- 38:45Speaker 1: I mean, gas prices were below $ 3 a gallon. Inflation
- 38:49Speaker 1: was going down. By Trump doing this, and I believe
- 38:53Speaker 1: talked into it, I don't know why he reversed himself.
- 38:58Speaker 1: And I just don't get it. He reversed all the
- 39:00Speaker 1: progress that he was making. We have inflation is back.
- 39:06Speaker 1: High energy prices are back. There's all of this speculation
- 39:11Speaker 1: that oil prices could go up. NASDAQ drops 4% today.
- 39:17Speaker 1: I mean, the Dow's down big time today. There's a
- 39:19Speaker 1: lot of uncertainty as a result of all of this.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Uncertainty on will there be an actual oil shortage? And
- 39:27Speaker 1: there already is in parts of the world. but will
- 39:30Speaker 1: it be in the United States will oil prices go
- 39:33Speaker 1: beyond $ 120 a barrel what others what does that do
- 39:37Speaker 1: to inflation so by doing all of this have you
- 39:40Speaker 1: destroyed the you were elected for affordability you were elected
- 39:45Speaker 1: to fix the economy and All the Republicans were. The
- 39:49Speaker 1: Democrats were thrown out to fix the economy because of
- 39:53Speaker 1: the pain everyone was feeling. Well, you've destroyed all of
- 39:56Speaker 1: your progress, and now we're right back to the same
- 40:00Speaker 1: position and worse, same position and worse, when they threw
- 40:05Speaker 1: the Democrats out. So what– and believe me, I would
- 40:08Speaker 1: never vote for the Democrats. I mean, to say, well,
- 40:12Speaker 1: I'm going to throw out the Republicans and vote for
- 40:14Speaker 1: the Democrats– Well, that's foolish because they still have the
- 40:19Speaker 1: wacky social agenda and their economics are just god-awful. But traditionally,
- 40:24Speaker 1: I don't know, people just seem to vote economically and
- 40:27Speaker 1: they say, okay, if things aren't going well, I vote
- 40:30Speaker 1: for the opposing party, even if the opposing party brought
- 40:33Speaker 1: you the inflation. And they just vote for the opposing
- 40:36Speaker 1: party and they'll say, well, this war and all this
- 40:38Speaker 1: kind of stuff. And so now you're right back to
- 40:40Speaker 1: the lunatics being in charge of of Congress or the Senate,
- 40:48Speaker 1: and now everything stalled for two years, and he gets
- 40:51Speaker 1: nothing more done. So my question is, is it worth it?
- 40:57Speaker 1: I mean, is it all worth it when you destroy,
- 41:03Speaker 1: when you affect the American economy for the worse? I
- 41:08Speaker 1: just don't, in my mind, I can't say none of
- 41:11Speaker 1: this was worth this If you lose the midterms, if
- 41:15Speaker 1: you put these lunatics back, give them control of Congress
- 41:19Speaker 1: or the Senate, if inflation continues to go up, or
- 41:24Speaker 1: if oil scarcity or... And it's not just oil. It's
- 41:28Speaker 1: all this other stuff, too, that they're talking about. Fertilizer.
- 41:34Speaker 1: It is just an absolute mess. It is a mess.
- 41:38Speaker 1: And he is to blame for that. He can't blame
- 41:40Speaker 1: anyone else. It was his decision. And I don't think
- 41:45Speaker 1: they have a way out.
- 41:47Speaker 8: Let me give you my view, how I feel about this.
- 41:50Speaker 8: I'm going to say it's worth it right now, and
- 41:53Speaker 8: I'm going to explain to you why. All the bombs
- 41:57Speaker 8: that we have, Russia, China, Pakistan, Great Britain, North Korea,
- 42:02Speaker 8: supposedly now Israel, you can go on and on. We're
- 42:06Speaker 8: in a bubble right now. We're in a nucleus with
- 42:09Speaker 8: all these superpowers right now. Now, just hear me out
- 42:13Speaker 8: real quick, and I'll get off the phone. We're all
- 42:16Speaker 8: in this circle. We all have these bombs. What's the
- 42:19Speaker 8: purpose of these bombs? The purpose is to make sure
- 42:23Speaker 8: we never have another World War II. We don't want
- 42:27Speaker 8: another real war. So these bombs neutralizes everything. I hate
- 42:31Speaker 8: the bombs.
- 42:32Speaker 4: I wish they'd get rid of them.
- 42:33Speaker 8: But we have them to keep everything at— we try to
- 42:36Speaker 8: keep everything at peace. Now, you've got this country outside
- 42:40Speaker 8: the nucleus of the circle. It's Iran. They've been saying
- 42:43Speaker 8: that to America for over 47 years now.
- 42:46Speaker 11: Okay?
- 42:47Speaker 8: They want the bomb. Let's say they get the bomb.
- 42:51Speaker 8: They're the type of people, if you've ever seen a movie,
- 42:55Speaker 8: Some of All Affairs, it makes a perfect example. The
- 42:58Speaker 8: guy is a Nazi. They want the nuclear bomb. Blame Russia.
- 43:03Speaker 8: The bomb in the United States is a great movie. Iran,
- 43:07Speaker 8: they hate Christians. They hate, they want their religion. What
- 43:11Speaker 8: makes you think they wouldn't nuke another country?
- 43:14Speaker 3: Forget Israel.
- 43:15Speaker 8: So then we can nuke, and then everybody starts nuking everybody.
- 43:19Speaker 8: Iran cannot have the bomb. And you're right, the economy
- 43:23Speaker 8: is crap right now. But there's a reason for everything,
- 43:26Speaker 8: and this man is trying to stop this evil country
- 43:30Speaker 8: from from getting the bomb where nobody even attempted to
- 43:34Speaker 8: try to stop him from getting the bomb nobody no
- 43:37Speaker 8: president united states russia china nobody dead and i'm not
- 43:42Speaker 8: saying that just suffered us out. There's a reason for everything,
- 43:47Speaker 8: and I agree with you. The economy is horrible right now.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Then you're going to have to ask yourself, ultimately, is
- 43:53Speaker 1: it worth it? Was Iran a threat to the United States?
- 43:57Speaker 1: I don't believe it was a nuclear threat. And I
- 44:01Speaker 1: think Iran knows that... that if they would attempt anything
- 44:06Speaker 1: like that, they would be wiped out in the blink
- 44:09Speaker 1: of an eye when it comes to the United States. Now,
- 44:12Speaker 1: hang on a second. I mean, I'm not in a
- 44:15Speaker 1: rush with you here. I said on previous programs, I
- 44:18Speaker 1: think it was John Kennedy, might have been Robert Kennedy,
- 44:20Speaker 1: that said for you to understand what's going on, you
- 44:24Speaker 1: have to understand your enemy. In other words, you have to,
- 44:27Speaker 1: you can't look at it from here, but you have
- 44:29Speaker 1: to understand your enemy to understand the whole situation. So
- 44:32Speaker 1: their argument's going to be, well, wait a minute. First
- 44:36Speaker 1: of all, we're our own country. I'm going to give
- 44:38Speaker 1: you their argument. We're our own country. We're 93 million people.
- 44:43Speaker 1: You're not going to tell us what to do. We're
- 44:45Speaker 1: not a state of the United States. We're concerned because
- 44:49Speaker 1: Israel has a nuclear weapon. So we want to have
- 44:53Speaker 1: one as a deterrent, too. And I'm trying to give
- 45:00Speaker 1: you the Kennedy philosophy, if you will. So they're saying
- 45:04Speaker 1: we want to have one as a deterrent to prevent
- 45:07Speaker 1: Israel from nuking us. Now, the conversation that you hear
- 45:11Speaker 1: about nuking these days is about concern of Israel nuking
- 45:16Speaker 1: Iran or some people thinking the United States should nuke Iran.
- 45:20Speaker 1: So I don't necessarily agree with any of this stuff.
- 45:26Speaker 1: I mean, I think the bunker buster was effective. I
- 45:30Speaker 1: wasn't the least bit concerned about them with a nuclear
- 45:34Speaker 1: weapon in the United States. At all, I wasn't concerned
- 45:38Speaker 1: about it. I think a lot of this was brought
- 45:41Speaker 1: on by Israel. And I just think the entire situation
- 45:45Speaker 1: is getting worse. You have countries now that want American
- 45:50Speaker 1: bases out of there. So this coalition in the Middle
- 45:55Speaker 1: East and in many of these places are saying, take
- 45:58Speaker 1: your stuff and get out.
- 46:01Speaker 9: You know what?
- 46:01Speaker 8: Then the United States should pull out then.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Right, right, right. Exactly right. But, okay, so with all
- 46:08Speaker 1: of this being said, and now you go back home.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I do believe in America first. And I think it's
- 46:15Speaker 1: an easy thing to say, oh, it's all worth it.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Is it worth it to say all the progress that
- 46:22Speaker 1: was made has been erased on affordability? You can really
- 46:28Speaker 1: lose the midterms as a result of this. Many things
- 46:34Speaker 1: can happen between then and now. You can potentially lose
- 46:36Speaker 1: the midterms. And now you're not going to get a
- 46:38Speaker 1: damn thing done for two years because you're not in
- 46:41Speaker 1: charge of anything. So all the stuff that you did
- 46:45Speaker 1: will be wiped out in the blink of an eye.
- 46:48Speaker 8: I understand what you're saying.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Okay, so is your life going to be better?
- 46:52Speaker 8: Well, if Israel had a going opportunity, if they wanted
- 46:56Speaker 8: a new guy ran, they could have did October 7th.
- 46:58Speaker 8: Because they weren't bothering nobody, and they got invaded.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Now, I've also heard that this debate take place, and
- 47:06Speaker 1: I don't know. I listened to it. I don't know
- 47:09Speaker 1: what the reality is. There are those people who argue,
- 47:13Speaker 1: did they let this happen because the most secure border
- 47:17Speaker 1: in the world is Israel with the most secure surveillance
- 47:21Speaker 1: there ever is? How did something like this happen? I mean,
- 47:28Speaker 1: this is what critics are saying.
- 47:30Speaker 8: I don't hear the critics say they're wrong.
- 47:32Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Well, I don't know.
- 47:34Speaker 8: I'm just saying.
- 47:41Speaker 1: This is what folks are saying. You've got to analyze
- 47:43Speaker 1: everything to say, listen, is the United States citizen better
- 47:51Speaker 1: off today as a result of this? And the answer
- 47:55Speaker 1: to me is no.
- 47:56Speaker 3: I say yes.
- 47:58Speaker 8: Because there's no way they'd get the bomb. And we're
- 48:02Speaker 8: in bad shape financially. I get it. I'm going to
- 48:06Speaker 8: go 50-50 on you. I agree with you. The economy sucks.
- 48:09Speaker 8: But we're better off now than we were before he
- 48:13Speaker 8: bombed that bunker. So I agree with you 50% and 50% wrong.
- 48:18Speaker 8: I don't.
- 48:19Speaker 14: I'm sorry.
- 48:19Speaker 1: That's all right. That's America. You're allowed to disagree.
- 48:22Speaker 8: You know, I agree with you a lot. But in
- 48:24Speaker 8: this situation, I mean..
- 48:28Speaker 1: I just don't think we've ever been very successful. I
- 48:34Speaker 1: can't think of how we've been very successful with an
- 48:37Speaker 1: air campaign on defeating an enemy.
- 48:40Speaker 8: Let me ask you a question. I'll get off the
- 48:42Speaker 8: phone because I've been on too long. I'm going to
- 48:45Speaker 8: be science fiction. Let's say North Korea came into California
- 48:48Speaker 8: and slaughtered 1,000 people. What do you think we're going
- 48:51Speaker 8: to do?
- 48:52Speaker 1: Well, of course, the United States would react to that
- 48:55Speaker 1: because it's.
- 48:55Speaker 8: An attack on your homeland.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Right. But look what Hamas did to Israel. Okay, but
- 49:07Speaker 1: that's between Israel and Hamas, okay? That's not between the
- 49:10Speaker 1: United States. They didn't attack the United States. How do
- 49:17Speaker 1: I put it? Was Vietnam successful for us?
- 49:21Speaker 8: The politicians got in the middle of that.
- 49:23Speaker 1: I don't care. The politicians are still in the middle
- 49:25Speaker 1: of it now.
- 49:27Speaker 8: Many Americans lost their lives over that because of politics.
- 49:30Speaker 1: What about Afghanistan?
- 49:31Speaker 2: Afghanistan.
- 49:34Speaker 1: What about any of these regime changes that Victoria Nuland
- 49:38Speaker 1: did in the Middle East? They've been disasters.
- 49:41Speaker 8: Afghanistan could have been done differently, and I agree with
- 49:43Speaker 8: you on that. But Joe Biden got out of there
- 49:46Speaker 8: the wrong way.
- 49:47Speaker 1: I agree. But remember, Trump wanted out of there, too.
- 49:50Speaker 1: But he would have done it differently, I'm convinced. But
- 49:53Speaker 1: they were going to leave. So everybody was going to
- 49:56Speaker 1: leave there. So what was the point?
- 49:57Speaker 3: It's a sad situation right now. Right.
- 49:59Speaker 1: All right. All right.
- 50:01Speaker 8: So take care.
- 50:02Speaker 2: All right.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I mean, it's a fair debate to have. I mean,
- 50:09Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I just wasn't up at night sweating Iran
- 50:14Speaker 1: and nuclear weapons. It seemed to me the bunker buster
- 50:17Speaker 1: was pretty effective when they did it, and they said
- 50:19Speaker 1: it was pretty effective. So what are you worried about?
- 50:26Speaker 1: I mean, it was... Basically, you know, mission accomplished. But,
- 50:37Speaker 1: I mean, things are strange these days. I mean, it's
- 50:41Speaker 1: just strange. As I say, I voted for Trump. You
- 50:44Speaker 1: always got to say it because you got the mega cult.
- 50:47Speaker 1: I don't know any president I agree with 100% of
- 50:50Speaker 1: the time on everything. But it doesn't mean he isn't
- 50:56Speaker 1: doing a good job. He's a much better choice than
- 50:58Speaker 1: any of the Democrats. And I can't vote for any
- 51:03Speaker 1: of the Democrats. But unfortunately, I think some of the
- 51:06Speaker 1: fallout from this means that if the Democrats vote for
- 51:09Speaker 1: the Democrats and the independents vote for the Democrats or
- 51:12Speaker 1: people say, I can't take this, the financial burden that's
- 51:16Speaker 1: happening to me, and they vote for change, as people
- 51:21Speaker 1: traditionally do. Remember, Carville said it's economy stupid, and it is.
- 51:26Speaker 1: It's what brought Trump and the Republicans to power. So
- 51:33Speaker 1: the same thing can happen in the next election. Don't
- 51:39Speaker 1: think you're immune from that same basic philosophy when people say,
- 51:43Speaker 1: are you better off today than you were a few
- 51:45Speaker 1: years ago? And they're going to say no. How many
- 51:50Speaker 1: variables are there? I mean, who knows what could happen
- 51:54Speaker 1: a week from now, a month from now. I mean,
- 51:58Speaker 1: I would like to see this thing come to a conclusion.
- 52:01Speaker 1: But if it continues to drag on, I do think
- 52:03Speaker 1: that there will be serious oil issues and serious inflation
- 52:09Speaker 1: issues as this drags on. So, we shall see.
- 52:24Speaker 3: You know, we..
- 52:26Speaker 1: It's all very, very odd, the whole thing. You're on
- 52:29Speaker 1: the air.
- 52:31Speaker 4: Mr.
- 52:31Speaker 23: Gerb, how are you?
- 52:32Speaker 1: I'm well, sir. Thank you.
- 52:34Speaker 3: Good.
- 52:35Speaker 23: I'm glad to hear that. I really am.
- 52:37Speaker 8: And the more I.
- 52:38Speaker 23: Listen to you, you know what?
- 52:41Speaker 3: I hear.
- 52:43Speaker 23: Things that I agree with. I never thought I'd say that.
- 52:47Speaker 23: But I do. The fellow that you were talking to
- 52:52Speaker 23: just now is one of many... Armchair generals and admirals
- 52:59Speaker 23: that are out there know what I mean by that.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Just as I am, right.
- 53:04Speaker 2: Everybody has an opinion.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Right, but we've got to speculate and hope the people
- 53:09Speaker 1: that are making the decisions know more than we do.
- 53:12Speaker 1: I agree with that comment you made.
- 53:13Speaker 23: Now, you made a comment about air care. You didn't
- 53:18Speaker 23: elaborate enough on it. But you have to read your,
- 53:22Speaker 23: and evidently you have read something on it or you
- 53:25Speaker 23: wouldn't say it. Air campaigns throughout history have been failures.
- 53:33Speaker 1: They're not successful, yes.
- 53:35Speaker 23: They have been absolute failures. Read more on air campaigns
- 53:43Speaker 23: and tell your listeners to read an air. You're absolutely
- 53:48Speaker 23: right when you made that comment.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 53:52Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't win.
- 53:54Speaker 23: When they said that this... Buster, Bunker, whatever it was,
- 53:59Speaker 23: they said, who are they? You know, who are they?
- 54:03Speaker 23: They're telling you what you want to hear. That's all
- 54:06Speaker 23: they're telling you.
- 54:06Speaker 1: And I'm... Stand by. Just stand by. Let me do
- 54:12Speaker 1: my break. Well, I did tell you the Trump administration
- 54:15Speaker 1: said it was successful. That's where it was.
- 54:17Speaker 4: Boom.
- 54:17Speaker 1: It went right down the hole and blew up. Mission accomplished.
- 54:20Speaker 1: And I think it probably was successful. So why are
- 54:22Speaker 1: we doing what we're doing now? I heard.
- 54:24Speaker 16: This is A570 WKBN.
- 54:26Speaker 3: All right.
- 54:27Speaker 1: So let me just ask you, what do you think
- 54:28Speaker 1: of the situation in Iran and getting involved in this war?
- 54:32Speaker 1: And why do you think it happened?
- 54:35Speaker 23: Number one. You have an administration that is very inept
- 54:41Speaker 23: in this type of negotiation. It should have never happened
- 54:45Speaker 23: in the first place. There were negotiations. There were rules,
- 54:51Speaker 23: laws that were in place. We had scientists. We had
- 54:55Speaker 23: people over there in authority who were looking at their
- 54:59Speaker 23: nuclear program to make sure that it was already in place.
- 55:07Speaker 23: The Strait of Hormuz was open. Gasoline was under $ 2. 50
- 55:14Speaker 23: a gallon. Everything was in place. It should have never
- 55:22Speaker 23: happened in the first place. That is what my thoughts
- 55:27Speaker 23: are on this. Because everything was in place to keep
- 55:31Speaker 23: them in check. But Mr. Trump decided... that Obama and
- 55:38Speaker 23: what he was doing, he was going to just erase it.
- 55:44Speaker 23: We're going to do what I'm going to do. Guess what?
- 55:48Speaker 23: He is in a situation he can't get out of.
- 55:52Speaker 23: And you know what? It's going to hurt you. Like
- 55:55Speaker 23: he said, you're looking at gasoline. There was a guy
- 55:59Speaker 23: on here, I forget what program, but he was very
- 56:02Speaker 23: intelligent talking about You'll probably see gasoline go from $ 4. 25
- 56:09Speaker 23: not to $ 4. 50 or $ 4.
- 56:11Speaker 8: 75.
- 56:12Speaker 23: It'll go to $ 5. 50, and it'll go to $ 6.
- 56:14Speaker 24: 50.
- 56:14Speaker 23: And you're looking at $ 7, $ 8 gasoline by the end
- 56:21Speaker 23: of summer. Now, this was all unnecessary. I don't know
- 56:27Speaker 23: how else to put it to you people out there.
- 56:31Speaker 23: You have to pay attention. You have just... You have
- 56:35Speaker 23: just eliminated 50-plus years of negotiations that the United States
- 56:43Speaker 23: has done. It has been Democrats. It has been Republicans.
- 56:49Speaker 23: It was under control as much as you, your listening audience,
- 56:55Speaker 23: most of them Republicans, fail to realize.
- 57:00Speaker 4: They have to.
- 57:02Speaker 23: They have to read more. They have to get involved more.
- 57:05Speaker 23: They have to pay attention more. Not just to be
- 57:08Speaker 23: blinded by one person who says, I'm going to do this,
- 57:15Speaker 23: and look, you know as well as I do that
- 57:18Speaker 23: what he did was totally asinine wrong. And I'm going
- 57:26Speaker 23: to mention a couple of things here to you about
- 57:31Speaker 23: And I'm not telling you this to try and impress
- 57:34Speaker 23: you or your listeners.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 57:38Speaker 23: Did anybody ever read D-Day? Did anybody ever read Their
- 57:43Speaker 23: Election of Duty by H.R. McMaster? How about Legacy of Ashes?
- 57:49Speaker 23: The History of the CIA?
- 57:51Speaker 9: Brute.
- 57:52Speaker 23: Do you know who Brute was in the Second World War?
- 57:56Speaker 23: Most people don't. Tim O'Brien. The Things They Carried. Presidents
- 58:01Speaker 23: of war. Vietnam by Max Hastings. I can go on
- 58:08Speaker 23: and on and on. But people have to pay more attention.
- 58:15Speaker 23: They have to read more. They have to get themselves involved.
- 58:19Speaker 23: Not to be bamboozled by an administration that is so
- 58:25Speaker 23: involved at what they're doing to this country. that they
- 58:32Speaker 23: fall to their knees and say, I love you, sir.
- 58:36Speaker 23: You know who said that recently? That guy that he
- 58:40Speaker 23: just wants to put in as Attorney General, who will
- 58:43Speaker 23: do anything for Trump, break any law. It's just insanity
- 58:49Speaker 23: to me what's going on in this country. People have
- 58:53Speaker 23: to pay attention to what is really going on. Okay,
- 58:58Speaker 23: I'm done.
- 58:58Speaker 1: There you go. And it's the perfect timing because I
- 59:01Speaker 1: got the headlines. You have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy yourself,
- 59:04Speaker 1: you hear? I'll be right back. Stay tuned.
- 59:07Speaker 10: News radio 570 wkbn now ron verb on news radio
- 59:15Speaker 10: 570 wkbn.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Back to it news radio 570 wkbn and ron verb
- 59:20Speaker 1: and you're on the air welcome hey.
- 59:22Speaker 4: Ron yes sir i had a question for you have
- 59:25Speaker 4: you ever worked on like projects.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Projects?
- 59:29Speaker 4: That have a defined set of things that have to happen,
- 59:33Speaker 4: and they have a budget and a schedule.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Do you have resources? Yeah, I think I have.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Okay, so then maybe you've done something called risk analysis.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Life itself I've done a risk analysis on. Don't you
- 59:50Speaker 1: do that when you decide to get married? You do
- 59:52Speaker 1: a risk analysis? Oh, my, yes. I knew it. I
- 59:56Speaker 1: knew you did.
- 59:56Speaker 11: Yes, you do.
- 59:58Speaker 4: And in fact, marriage is a risk analysis every day.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: But in any case, so in any case, so risk
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: analysis is a way of identifying risks and trying to
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: mitigate them, okay, and trying to take the emotion out
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: of it, okay? And so the way that you do
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: that is that you identify the risk. You sit down
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: and you, you know, with the people that are doing
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: the project and so forth, and you're saying, what are
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: all the things that could go wrong that may cost
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: us schedule, that may cost us budget, that may completely
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: ruin the project. Okay? And you identify those, and for
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: each one of those, you're going to find out, you're
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: going to try and understand and estimate the chance that
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: it'll happen, the impact that if it does happen, and
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: then what can you do about it? What's the mitigation
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: that you can do?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: So..
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: I think that in the Israel, Iran, United States, and
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: all of Middle East, I see four or five risks.
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: The first one is that Iran has ICBMs. We knew
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: they had ICBMs, but we thought their range was too...
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: 2,000 kilometers. Turns out that their range was 4,000 kilometers,
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: which means that they can go to Europe, okay? And
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: that's a 100% chance because we know now that they've
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: demonstrated them. And what's the impact of that? Well, you know,
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: you can make that impact something, you know, a number.
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: You try and quantify these things, a number from, say,
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: one to whatever, infinity. Okay, so let's say that that's
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: a number of 100 because they would be able to
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: drop an ICBM into a city in Europe. Okay? And
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: let's say they have 100 ICBMs. They can drop that
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: 100 ICBMs in Europe. What do you think is going
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: to happen to that European city if they drop 100
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: ICBMs into that city?
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Go ahead. I'm listening.
- 1:02:28Speaker 11: Okay.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: So it'll probably decimate that city, especially if they don't
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: even have high explosives on there. They just have maybe
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: iron beams on. If you want to understand this, look
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: up a thing called Rods from God, which was a
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: thing that they were worried the Soviets would do from space. Anyhow,
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: let's take the next risk that we would identify, which
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: is the terror network from the Iranians.
- 1:02:57Speaker 16: Well, we know that's 100%.
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: They've been listed as the number one terror sponsor by
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: the State Department for decades, right? I mean, we know
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: that they caused things in our hemisphere. In South America,
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: they killed hundreds of people in Argentina. At the Jewish Center,
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: they caused many, many things throughout Europe and definitely things
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: in the United States. Throughout Asia as well. And, of course,
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: the Middle East. So what do you think that number
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: is with the terror, the impact of terror? If you
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: have things like, let's say, you know, it wasn't the
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: Iranians necessarily. It was some parts of the Saudi populace
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: that did 9-11. But what do you think that impact
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: would be?
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: It would be devastating. I mean, there's an awful lot
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: of speculation going on here. I mean, this is..
- 1:03:59Speaker 11: Speculation?
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: Wait a second. We know that they are the number
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: one sponsor of terror. from the State Department for decades.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: You can go onto the FDD site and see the
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: 47 things that they've tied, the FDD being the Foundation
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: for the Defense of Democracy, and see the 47 definite
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: things that they've hit the United States with.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: So the next thing is, let's talk about the problems
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: in the region. So I've heard G2 talk about, you know,
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: they're going to take the desalinization plants from the Saudis. Well,
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: not too many years ago, they hit the Saudi oil fields, right?
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: And we've seen them hit Qatar and other neighbors and
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: Israel itself. So we know that that's 100% as well.
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: But that's not, I wouldn't call that like a really,
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: really high number, right? But let's go to the big one,
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: which is.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: The nuclear, right?
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: Now, do they have nuclear weapons? Probably not. There are
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: some people that say that they got some nukes through
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: one of the stands, Kazakhstan, or so when the Soviet
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: Union broke up, but that's never been really fundamentally.
- 1:05:27Speaker 25: Verified, okay?
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: But let's say that, you know, the chance of them
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: having a nuclear weapon is pretty low. Let's say it's 1%.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: But I think that the impact of that is probably
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: 5 million.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: Because they get into a nuclear exchange with Israel or
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: anyone else. You think they've got problems with the economy now? Everything's,
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: all bets are off. The last one is, let's say
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: they learn how to miniaturize that nuclear weapon, which means
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: they can put it on an ICBM and hit all
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: parts of Europe, all parts of the Middle East. I'd
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: say that impact is probably a tenth or a hundredth
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: of a percent, but the impact of that is 50 million,
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: at least. So the risk analysis says we had to
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: do something. Whether we're doing the correct thing or not,
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: it's not an issue. I can't see how you can
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: say that any of the impacts of the United States...
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: economy have anything close to those impacts?
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Oh, I think that's totally... First of all, you make
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: it sound as though... So let me ask you this.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Why would General McGregor completely disagree with everything you said?
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I mean, you come on here, you're so certain of
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: all of this. Yet he completely disagrees. I'm asking you
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: a question. I mean, you lay all of this out,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: yet here's General McGregor who completely disagrees with this entire
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: mission and the nonsense that's going on. So, I mean,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: so let's not act as though this is for certain
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: and this would happen and this is carved in stone.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Because you have people in positions of know-how, well beyond
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: certainly my expertise, I would assume yours, who totally disagree.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Hang on, Ron. I can't even finish my statement with you.
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: I said those were my estimates.
- 1:07:52Speaker 11: What are your estimates?
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: What are your estimates on the chance of having any impact?
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: My thoughts are most of what you said, in my opinion,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: is speculation. I don't believe a lot of what you said.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: It's all speculation, Ron. Then don't ask me. If you
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: won't let me respond, then go ahead and finish your
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: thought and I'll move on. Because as soon as I
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: start to speak, you don't want to hear it. Okay, continue, please.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I totally disagree with your scenario. I totally and completely
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: disagree with your scenario and what the effects will be.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: And the effects will be significant on this country right
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: now as this goes on. I don't believe your scenario
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: at all. I believe the bunker buster was effective. I
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: wasn't up at night worried about Iran and a nuclear threat.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: The majority of people in this country were not. They
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: have been kind of sold on this from the neocons
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: that sell you on a lot of this stuff in
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: the Middle East. And Trump got involved in this, and
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: it's disturbing to me that he did. And I think
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: he's looking for a way out of it right now.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: I don't know what the way out of it is
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: right now. What I do know is that bombing from
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: the air doesn't win. And I do know that I
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: thought that things are, you know, let's be realistic. They
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: didn't have much of a Navy or an Air Force
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: to begin with. So the fact that they don't have
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: one is pretty much irrelevant. So if they're decimated and
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: their structure is taken out, what more do you want?
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: If all our leaders are gone and if the new
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: regime is gone, I don't even know who you're negotiating
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: with or who you call or how you get in
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: contact with them to try to even reach an agreement. Apparently,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: they must know who they're dealing with to reach an agreement, right?
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: They say, I've heard every week now for, what, a
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: month and a half, two months, an agreement is near,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: an agreement is near. But it never happens.
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: I agree.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: I mean, it absolutely never happens. Who are they negotiating with?
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Who's making the decisions? Who's there to say, I'm in
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: charge and I'm making the decisions? Do we know? Do
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: they know? How do we communicate with them? They certainly
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: would be nervous to do any type of communication because
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: we'd drop another bomb on them. So there's many questions
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: I have about it all. Do you think if we
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: redo the bombing campaign that we've done it before, will
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: it now be more successful than it was last time?
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: Will it change anything? What's insanity? Doing the same thing again,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: expecting different results? So where do you go if it
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: doesn't work and you do it next time? So you
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: tell me, based on your scenario, here we do. We
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: go right back to it. We do that bombing campaign again,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: which is a real possibility, and nothing changes. And I'm
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: not saying, don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying Iran's in
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: a good place. Iran's in a horrible place financially, economically,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: and in many, many ways. Their back is up against
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: the wall. But I don't understand their culture. I don't
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: think they think like I do. I don't think they
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: have the priorities I do. I can only tell you
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: from what I learned from my son spending many tours
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: in the Middle East who says, you don't understand them
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: unless you're there and you see it firsthand. They don't
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: think like you. They don't think like you. They don't
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: have the same belief system as you. It's totally different.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: So I don't know how many people in Iran want
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: regime change within Iran. Do we know that number?
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: I don't think many of the people that are on
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: your show know that, and I'm.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: One of them. I don't know if the United States
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: government knows that.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: I think somebody like Professor Brenda Schaefer may know that.
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: I don't know that anyone— She's written several books on Iran.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: I doubt if anybody polled the majority of the 93
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: million people in Iran if they're looking for regime change.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't understand their culture, their religion,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: their philosophy. It is foreign to me. But in many ways,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: I know they don't think like I do. And so
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: I don't know. Can you get, if you bomb them
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: again and that doesn't work now, what do you do?
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: Maybe bomb them again.
- 1:12:23Speaker 25: But my question was not, or my.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: Comment is not, what are we doing now? My comment is,
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: why did we do this at all?
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Well, I would argue that probably doing it, I think
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: the bunker buster was effective. Why did we do it
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: at all? Well, I can only speculate on that. I
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: can only speculate.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: I don't think the bunker buster did anything about the ICBMs.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: I think that the bunker buster took care of a
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: lot of issues. And when you say, why did we
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: do it? I think we were influenced by Netanyahu. That's
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: what I think to get involved in this.
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: That may be the case. That's not in the risk analysis.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: But what's your risk analysis in the United States of America?
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: Let's do some risk analysis on the people. This isn't
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: a risk analysis. No, no, I want to do a
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: different risk analysis. I want to do a risk analysis
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: of $ 160 a barrel oil or $ 180 a barrel oil.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: I think the impact of $ 180 a barrel oil is nothing.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: As Art Berman has said, what do you think the
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: impact of that is on the U.S. economy? What do
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: you think the impact of that is on inflation? What
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: do you think the impact of that is on the
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: midterm elections? What do you think the impact of that
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: is on the average citizen in this country, economically speaking,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: and business in this country? What do you think the
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: impact is on all of that? Let's do a risk
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: analysis on that. Wait a second. Because, you know, there's
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: more than one side to an equation. You and your
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: risk analysis want to look at one part of the equation.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: I want to look at the part in the United
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: States of America and what we do to our own
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: citizens in our own country, in our own economics, and
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: the next two years of decimating the Trump presidency by
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: putting the Democrats in charge. Now what do you want
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: to do? What's your risk analysis of that? So I
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: ask you once again. What is it? I'm asking you
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: a question.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: Wait a second.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: You don't want to answer.
- 1:14:22Speaker 16: Do you want to answer or not?
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: I don't think it's anywhere near what a nuclear.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Exchange would be. I'm not remotely concerned about their nuclear situation.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: I don't believe it to be the threat it is
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: being described as, in my opinion.
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: So you're saying that..
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: I'm saying to you... I'm saying specifically to you, so
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: you understand. I believe the surveillance is there on a
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: daily basis. I believe from the satellite surveillance and surveillance
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: on the ground as to what is going on down there.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: And I don't believe that they are a nuclear threat
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: to the United States of America, period.
- 1:15:06Speaker 11: The IAEA..
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: All of their stuff. All of their stuff.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Well, you and I are going to go around in
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: circles when we destroy the American economy. And make no mistake,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I hope he's successful and I hope it ends quickly.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: But I don't see it happening to you. Well, how
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: long you want to go with this? How long you
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: want to go? At what point? You're not looking at
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: the effect it can have on your citizens in your
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: own damn country immediately. Do you give a damn about that?
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: Where is your risk analysis on that? I'm asking you.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: You don't want to address it, do you? So what
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: do you say to a guy like Art Berman who says,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: we got a big problem. We got starvation in the world.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: We got fertilizer that's going to affect the food supply.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: We could see $ 160 to $ 180 a barrel oil. We
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: could see gas prices skyrocket. And we could see oil shortages.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: How do you assess that in the world? What do
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: you think that does to the world?
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: I think that's nothing compared to.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: A nuclear exchange.
- 1:16:09Speaker 10: Between Israel and Iran.
- 1:16:13Speaker 16: All right.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: You know, I've been through all this speculation nonsense like
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: the last caller did with his risk analysis since Vietnam.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: And selling the American on Vietnam and how important it was.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: And ultimately, we lost a lot of life, American life
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: and injury for Vietnam. And for what? For what? We
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: did a massive bombing campaign there, too. And we had
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: boots on the ground. But we didn't win. And we left.
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: So when you take a look at all of these...
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: military operations since then what was the lesson of vietnam
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: basically uh was is that is that how we want
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: to operate and weren't we supposed to learn a lesson
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: from vietnam then we go get involved in all of
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: these conflicts in the middle east with victoria newland and
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: so they're just disasters the regime change the cia meddling
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: the disasters that you see in the loss of life
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: that we had in the middle east So can you
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: say Afghanistan was worth any of your sons or daughters
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: dying for, losing an arm or a leg or being
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: severely disfigured? When it was said and done and we
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: left and we gave it right back to the people,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: the terrorists, and they got it back with more equipment,
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: better than when it was taken originally? Can you look
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: and say, well, anything, when you look at it, was
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: it worth it? Well, I thought that's what Trump ran on.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: He doesn't believe in regime change and forever wars. But
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: now we're right back in this particular situation. I thought
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: the bunker buster took care of the nuclear threat. But
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: now we're right back in one where they're sitting there
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: scratching their head and saying, well, we don't understand why
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: they're not surrendering. We don't understand why this isn't over. And,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: you know, here goes ceasefire. Now let's do a ceasefire
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: for 30 days and 60 days. And an agreement is
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: near and it doesn't come. And another agreement is near
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: and it doesn't come. And you sit back and you say, well,
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: what is going on here? And can you say that
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: it's going well? Well, you be the judge of it.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: I'm sure that it's not going well over there, but
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: it can get worse here as well.
- 1:19:14Speaker 16: From ABC News. I'm Mike Dabusky.
- 1:19:18Speaker 19: Bill Pulte, the incoming acting director of national intelligence, is
- 1:19:22Speaker 19: facing new pressure to downsize the department he's set to run.
- 1:19:26Speaker 19: President Trump telling reporters today that the number of employees
- 1:19:29Speaker 19: at DNI has been way too high for way too long.
- 1:19:32Speaker 19: ABC's Karen Travers is at the White House.
- 1:19:34Speaker 20: It says a lot about how President Trump views acting officials.
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: When you put.
- 1:19:38Speaker 20: Somebody in this role but don't intend to keep them there,
- 1:19:41Speaker 20: the president then believes that they can do a lot
- 1:19:44Speaker 20: of significant work in that short period of time.
- 1:19:47Speaker 19: Stocks slumped today to end the week. It comes as
- 1:19:50Speaker 19: some financial leaders, including the head of the Dallas Fed,
- 1:19:53Speaker 19: indicated that interest rates may go up this year. Meanwhile,
- 1:19:56Speaker 19: a jobs report out this morning found that the economy
- 1:19:59Speaker 19: added more than 170,000 jobs last month, nearly double expectations.
- 1:20:04Speaker 26: The narrative for the past year or so has been
- 1:20:06Speaker 26: a cooling labor market, but the past three months could
- 1:20:08Speaker 26: make a case that that cooling has stopped. But while
- 1:20:10Speaker 26: jobs are being added, we are still in a low hire,
- 1:20:13Speaker 26: low fire environment. This is good news for workers with jobs,
- 1:20:16Speaker 26: but reflects a tougher situation for job seekers. We are
- 1:20:18Speaker 26: seeing job seekers struggling in long-term unemployment numbers. Those who
- 1:20:22Speaker 26: have been out of work for 27 weeks or more
- 1:20:23Speaker 26: rose to 27.5% in May, well above pre-pandemic norms. Taylor Dunn,
- 1:20:30Speaker 26: ABC News, New York.
- 1:20:31Speaker 19: An appeals court hearing arguments today as the president's lawyers
- 1:20:34Speaker 19: look to move ahead with the White House ballroom project.
- 1:20:37Speaker 19: A lawsuit from historical preservationists had halted the project.
- 1:20:41Speaker 21: The government argues that the ballroom is necessary for national security,
- 1:20:44Speaker 21: pointing to the drone port that the president says will
- 1:20:46Speaker 21: be on the roof of the new ballroom, the bulletproof glass,
- 1:20:50Speaker 21: and the blastproof columns. The appeals court panel that heard
- 1:20:53Speaker 21: this today is comprised of appointees of Presidents Obama, Biden,
- 1:20:57Speaker 21: and Trump. And it was really difficult to get a sense,
- 1:21:00Speaker 21: just listening to the questions for two hours over where
- 1:21:02Speaker 21: this is going to land. But you can imagine that
- 1:21:04Speaker 21: the losing side is probably going to take it to
- 1:21:06Speaker 21: the Supreme Court.
- 1:21:07Speaker 19: ABC's Stephen Portnoy, you're listening to ABC News.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: All right, 507 News Radio, 570. With you until 7 tonight.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: Guardians play a little bit after 8 o'clock tonight. 85 degrees,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: beautiful-looking Friday afternoon. NewsRadio 570 at ODQN, you're on the air. Hello?
- 1:21:35Speaker 16: Hello, is it me on the air?
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: I think it is.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: Oh, okay, that's good.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: Go ahead, sir.
- 1:21:41Speaker 25: I'm going to pull over here.
- 1:21:43Speaker 9: Well, you know what?
- 1:21:44Speaker 25: I had a question to ask you. I thought, what
- 1:21:47Speaker 25: are my odds? I'm retired, and... I'm going to go
- 1:21:52Speaker 25: on a... I always wanted to go... I drove trucks
- 1:21:55Speaker 25: for a few stints, then I became a mechanic. I
- 1:21:59Speaker 25: always wanted to see Yellowstone. And I bought a 99
- 1:22:04Speaker 25: GMC van out of Florida. And it's in extremely good shape.
- 1:22:10Speaker 25: It's got the original brake lines.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Anyway..
- 1:22:15Speaker 25: The odds of me making it out there at a
- 1:22:18Speaker 25: reasonable price on gas, you know?
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: I'm curious.
- 1:22:22Speaker 25: Would you do it still?
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: How old are you? I'm 73. I think if you
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: want to see Yellowstone, you should go do it because
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: you're 73 years old.
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: So if that's what you want to do, that's what
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: you should do. Listen, I don't know. how your retirement looks,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: what you have financially, or what you get through Social Security,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: or any of that. I'm not wealthy.
- 1:22:53Speaker 25: I get a couple, like $ 2, 300 a month. I work
- 1:22:57Speaker 25: my whole life. I have a 401, but it's not
- 1:23:00Speaker 25: a lot of money. I have a service dog. Yeah,
- 1:23:04Speaker 25: I'm lucky to still be up and in good shape
- 1:23:07Speaker 25: because I'm TD1. And I've had a doctor tell me,
- 1:23:11Speaker 25: you know, she said, You know, your health. I mean,
- 1:23:14Speaker 25: you still got your kidneys. You have a service dog
- 1:23:17Speaker 25: that keeps you out of trouble.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: What year van did you buy?
- 1:23:21Speaker 9: A 99 GMC.
- 1:23:24Speaker 25: All right.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: But I want you to think about this, though. The
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: van that you bought is 26, 7 years old, right?
- 1:23:37Speaker 27: Yeah.
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: All right. Now, just here's what I would say to you.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: By yourself, go look at a newer vehicle or a
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: newer van. You're 73 or 74 years old. I don't
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: know how much life you have left, okay? I mean,
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: death is inevitable, and who knows what tomorrow will bring.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: They say God laughs at people who make plans. I
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: would like to see you go buy a much newer
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: van than a 26- or 70-year-old van that you want
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: to drive from here out to See Yellowstone Park. I
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: would like to see you buy a better van with
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: lower miles that's more dependable, if not a new one.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: If not a new one. And then I would say,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: I don't care what gas costs, but put it in
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: a tank, go drive out and see it before you die.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: All right? If that's what you want to do and
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: take your dog with you. And I don't know if
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: you're going to sleep in that van or how you're
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: going to do that, but that would be my... Yeah, I've.
- 1:24:48Speaker 25: Got a 2020 Lexus, but it really cramps me, you know,
- 1:24:54Speaker 25: a 2020 Lexus.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: Well, if you've got a Lexus, it's a hell of
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: a car. I think I would drive the Lexus out
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: to Yellowstone before I would ever drive the van, just
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: for dependability reasons. There's nothing worse than breaking down.
- 1:25:09Speaker 25: Yeah, that is one of my fears. But I'm an ex-mechanic,
- 1:25:13Speaker 25: and it's the 570.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: Right back.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: 140,000.
- 1:25:18Speaker 25: I just went through. My buddy just went through the transformation.
- 1:25:21Speaker 14: Well.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: You know, if you feel comfortable with it and you're
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: a mechanic, the problem is when you break down, you
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: don't have parts sitting there on the side of the
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: road and you don't have a lift either. And, I mean,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: if you're comfortable with the fuel pump and you're comfortable
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: with all the mechanicals of the vehicle, you know, it's
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: a 26, 27-year-old vehicle.
- 1:25:46Speaker 25: You know, it's still got the original brake lines on it.
- 1:25:52Speaker 25: How many of them?
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: Right. Listen, what do you say your Lexus is? What year.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: Is that?
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: 2020.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: Okay, so that's six years old. How many miles are
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: on that?
- 1:26:06Speaker 25: There's 80,000 on it.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: Yeah, drive the Lexus. I mean, are you married?
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: No.
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: No.
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: No, no. All right.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: So you want to go..
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: I have somebody that's... All right. Well, or..
- 1:26:18Speaker 25: Yeah, I have somebody that goes with me.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: Here's another... Well, you know, I spent... Here's another idea.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Get on an airplane and fly out there. Rent a
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: hotel and rent a car when you get there. Put
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: your dog in a kennel until you get back. And let's...
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: Put a kennel in your dog. There's plenty of nice
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: places where you can put your dog, and you can
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: go out, and you can get there pretty quick, and
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: you can enjoy yourself without having to worry about driving
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: all that way, falling asleep at the wheel, or breaking down,
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: and just go see it. I mean, see it.
- 1:26:54Speaker 25: The thing is to travel out there, the scenery, going
- 1:26:59Speaker 25: out there, and I was going to come back. I
- 1:27:01Speaker 25: was going to come back through Canada. And now I'm
- 1:27:05Speaker 25: in good shape. I just put a transmission in this van.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: I know, but I mean, listen.
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: I'm not an old man.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Right, you can do what you want to do, but
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: you're 74 years old. I don't know if you've got
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: another 10 years to live or 10 days, and you
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: don't know either. I tell you again, God laughs at
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: people that make plans because you never know when your
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: number's up. So all I'm saying to you is I
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: want you to see. You want to go to Yellowstone
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: and see the park and all that kind of stuff? Well,
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: sometimes getting on a plane and flying there is just
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: a lot more convenient, and you get there quicker. Rent
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: a car. You can stay there longer and take it
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: all in and then fly back home and reconnect with
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: your dog. That's what I would do if I was you.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: I mean, don't hesitate.
- 1:28:01Speaker 25: Well, that's your honest opinion. I'm not going to leave my–
- 1:28:05Speaker 25: she's a service animal, so I'm not going to leave her.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: Well, I mean, when you're out there, she'll be fine.
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: She'll have dog company. I mean, you'll be fine with
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: kenneling her. Enjoy your life. Don't say, oh, I can't
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: go because of my dog. No, I could take her.
- 1:28:30Speaker 25: If I take the van, I could take her.
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: Right, but I mean, now..
- 1:28:37Speaker 25: Actually, I'm certified by my doctor to take her. She
- 1:28:42Speaker 25: has all her medical shots. She has all of them.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but a lot of hotels don't want cats or
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: dogs in them for places to stay.
- 1:28:52Speaker 25: Yeah, she's... He's a certified service animal.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: I understand.
- 1:28:59Speaker 25: And I'm medically.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: Well, you do what you want to do. Any way
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: you do it, better get moving and start doing it.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: Stop thinking about it and start doing it. Don't worry
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: about the gas prices at your age. Worry about the
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: time you have left.
- 1:29:17Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:18Speaker 25: Well, that's good advice. I got some good advice. That's good.
- 1:29:24Speaker 25: I'm probably going to do it.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: It shouldn't be a probably. Let me put it this way.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: You can save the money and not do it, and
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: then when you're sitting in a nursing home, it's whatever,
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: $ 10, 000 a month, you're going to wish you would have
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: spent the money and done it.
- 1:29:42Speaker 25: That's what I'm thinking.
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: Too, you know? Yes.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: And who knows?
- 1:29:47Speaker 25: My buddy, he's retired, too. He had Ernie's transmission. And
- 1:29:51Speaker 25: he told me, you know, he said, he don't see
- 1:29:54Speaker 25: anything with the problem of 4,000 miles.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: Then if you want to do it, do it. I mean,
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: you know, if you break down, you got a cell phone,
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: call a tow truck and figure out what you're going
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: to do then when you're broke down on a freeway
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: at 3 in the morning. I'm just teasing in a
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: bad neighborhood.
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: Whatever it is, don't overthink it, all right? If you
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: want to do it, do it.
- 1:30:19Speaker 25: I think I have overthought.
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: It, you know?
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: I think you probably have, too. I would feel more
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: comfortable if you would just... Make it a quick, you
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: could go out and take it, see it and fly
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: out and come back and you'd be gone a week
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: or two. However long you want to go. You don't
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: have a time clock to punch anymore. So you can
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: go out there for what? A week and then come
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: back and see your dog. Maybe your dog have a
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: better time in the kennel and being around other dogs.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: You never know. You're a little jealous.
- 1:30:54Speaker 25: Yeah, that's true, but she's had a rough life, and
- 1:31:01Speaker 25: I got her off of a trainer.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Right. Well, I'm good for you. You've got to love
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: somebody that takes good care of animals and loves their animals.
- 1:31:10Speaker 25: She's fantastic as far as being.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: A service animal. Maybe when you're out there, you'll meet
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: a young woman. Did you ever get married?
- 1:31:23Speaker 25: Yeah, I've been married, yeah.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: How many times?
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: One time. One time?
- 1:31:28Speaker 25: Just once. Once was enough.
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: How long did that one last?
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: About 20 years.
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: Really? Now, how did it fall apart after 20 years?
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: They died.
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry. She passed away.
- 1:31:44Speaker 27: Yeah, she passed away.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: Did you ever think about remarrying after she passed away,
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: or was that the love of your life?
- 1:31:55Speaker 25: No, I thought about it, but at my age, I don't,
- 1:31:58Speaker 25: you know, I don't want to redo it again.
- 1:32:01Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: Well, you can, right. So that's a fair decision. I mean,
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: you know, there's some people that decide to remarry and
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: have companionship, and other people decide that one was enough, and...
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: And maybe you found the love of your life, so
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: that's a good thing. And I think she would probably
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: want you to enjoy the rest of your life until
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: you meet your maker. All right?
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:32:26Speaker 25: Well, I was just wondering.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Well, there you go.
- 1:32:28Speaker 25: If the gas went to $ 7 an hour, I'd have
- 1:32:30Speaker 25: a Gobi fund to get back.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: Don't you worry. I have the money. You've got the money.
- 1:32:35Speaker 25: It hits me off.
- 1:32:36Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: You've got the money.
- 1:32:37Speaker 25: I have the money to buy the gas.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: Go do it. All right?
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: Hello.
- 1:32:45Speaker 12: You mentioned Vietnam. I can't believe it. I'm not an
- 1:32:48Speaker 12: armchair general, but I was a corporal in the United
- 1:32:51Speaker 12: States Marine Corps in the Vietnam era. And right now,
- 1:32:55Speaker 12: I'm going to give you the Iran solution. The Iran
- 1:32:58Speaker 12: war is a brave and bold necessary action. Think back
- 1:33:03Speaker 12: 90 years ago to the 30s. If FDR, England, and
- 1:33:06Speaker 12: Europe had made war against Hitler when he broke treaties,
- 1:33:09Speaker 12: 80 million lives might have been saved. A nuclear Iran...
- 1:33:15Speaker 12: could kill about a billion people easily. What we need
- 1:33:19Speaker 12: is MAGA and MILC to get it done. I'm going
- 1:33:24Speaker 12: to give you three actions. Number one, MILC, make Iran
- 1:33:29Speaker 12: like Cuba. Unload every Iranian vessel, sell the contents to
- 1:33:35Speaker 12: pay for this war effort, and move the empty vessels
- 1:33:39Speaker 12: to a neutral port for long-term storage. then destroy every
- 1:33:44Speaker 12: vessel on the 1,500-mile Iranian shoreline. Iran will be like
- 1:33:50Speaker 12: Cuba with no boats. No vessels will be permitted to
- 1:33:53Speaker 12: enter or exit Iran. Number two, escort friendly ships through
- 1:34:00Speaker 12: the Strait of Iran. This is the most important thing.
- 1:34:06Speaker 12: Don't accept a statement that this cannot be done. With
- 1:34:09Speaker 12: a $ 900 billion defense budget and 2.8 million personnel, plus
- 1:34:16Speaker 12: contractors and friendly nations, find an operational leader who can
- 1:34:21Speaker 12: make it happen. Number three, continue the destruction in Iran,
- 1:34:26Speaker 12: starting from the shoreline and moving inward. War Department personnel
- 1:34:31Speaker 12: can get ongoing live ammo training, including drone use, instead
- 1:34:36Speaker 12: of practicing in U.S.
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: Bases.
- 1:34:39Speaker 12: Keep this up until the Strait is safe, the nuclear
- 1:34:43Speaker 12: dust is removed, and there are no terrorist actions from
- 1:34:46Speaker 12: Iran or any of their proxies anywhere in the world.
- 1:34:51Speaker 12: Forget about any ceasefires. This regime will never cave.
- 1:34:57Speaker 13: Deal?
- 1:34:58Speaker 12: We don't need no stinking deal or badges. Now, when
- 1:35:03Speaker 12: they've had enough, it might happen. The only thing that
- 1:35:06Speaker 12: counts for the world economy... is that the strait is open.
- 1:35:11Speaker 12: There should be no reparations. They can use oil money
- 1:35:15Speaker 12: to rebuild instead of supporting international terrorism. Who's the smartest
- 1:35:21Speaker 12: player in this tragedy? Smarts don't have anything to do
- 1:35:25Speaker 12: with it. The regime in Iran has no concern for
- 1:35:28Speaker 12: its people, and they want to kill everyone else in
- 1:35:32Speaker 12: the They will take any destruction as long as they
- 1:35:37Speaker 12: stay in power. If the Strait isn't opened before the elections,
- 1:35:43Speaker 12: the Dems will impeach 47, and Iran's problem is solved.
- 1:35:49Speaker 12: Our problems become much more deadly. My message to DJT
- 1:35:54Speaker 12: and Secretary Hegseth, focus the way General George S. Patton would.
- 1:36:00Speaker 12: Our futures are at stake.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: All right, thanks. You're on the air.
- 1:36:05Speaker 23: I know you only want me to call once a day.
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: Then why are you calling again?
- 1:36:09Speaker 23: When I had a call back. That guy that you
- 1:36:13Speaker 23: just talked to, did he say he was a corporal
- 1:36:15Speaker 23: in the United States Marine Corps?
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: Something along those lines.
- 1:36:19Speaker 23: A corporal in an SNG-4 in the United States Marine Corps.
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: If that's what he said, stand by. Now take more calls.
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: Coming up, we're here until 7, 330-729-9977.
- 1:36:29Speaker 13: 570-WKBN.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: Listen, I'll say this to you with the last guy.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: Here's the reality of all this stuff. You've got to
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: start by acknowledging none of us know what Rubio and
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: these people know. None of us have the information that
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: they have. So none of us know that. So we
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: can sit here as armchair quarterbacks trying to act like
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: we know everything and what should happen And who knows
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: what the right answer is? So it's not that we
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: shouldn't have an opinion because we should. And it's not
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: that we shouldn't take a look at what is happening
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: and what the effects of it are and what we've
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: learned from history. So what I'm saying to everyone involved,
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: the reality is we're there. And now you have to
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: figure out the game plan of getting out of there.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: And you have to say, okay, what's the exit strategy?
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: How are you? Are you going to be there six
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: months from now, a year from now? What is the
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: exit strategy to get out of there? What is a victory?
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: I mean, there's so much unknown to the American people
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: that it's just– reminds me too much of other situations
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: in the Middle East. I don't necessarily buy all the
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: crap that the neocons spew to try to get you
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: ginned up to go into these particular situations. So I'm
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: not always a believer in everything that they're saying, because
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: I think the government lies to you. They have an
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: agenda in many cases. So I'm wasting my time when
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: I say I think this was a mistake from the
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: very beginning, because I do. And I think Israel influenced
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: us to do it. And I think it was a mistake.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: And I think Trump thought that this would be over
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: much quicker than it is. And I think everybody involved
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: is surprised. that it isn't. Well, we sunk their Navy,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: their air force isn't any good. We bombed the hell
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: out of them and, and there's no agreement. And, and
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: then it's like, now, now what do we do? Now
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: we have another ceasefire and another ceasefire and trying to
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: figure out now, what do we do now? If we
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: go back and bomb them some more, does that mean
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: that they'll surrender and sign a peace agreement then? Or
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: will they say, well, no, we're not going to do
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: it then. Then what do you do? I mean, what's,
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: What's the strategy here? What's the exit strategy? What's the
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: game plan? How long are you going to be there?
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: I mean, I can understand why Congress is saying at
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: what point you can't just do this forever as a president.
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: At some point, we do have a check and balance system,
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: and you do have to address Congress with it. And
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: there does have to be a debate over this. That
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: is how our system does work, whether we like it
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: or not. Would you not agree? That's how it works.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: It isn't up to him alone or any president to
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: determine this is what we're going to do and I'm
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: not going to have any debate over it by Republicans
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: and Democrats in Congress. That's not how this system works.
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: Do you agree?
- 1:40:01Speaker 23: One thousand percent. One thousand percent.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: I mean, the longer this goes on, I just, I'm looking, thinking, okay,
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: was this..
- 1:40:15Speaker 23: There is no human being on this earth that can
- 1:40:20Speaker 23: run a country, and his word is the last word.
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: Well, that's not certainly how the United States works. That's
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: not how we work.
- 1:40:30Speaker 9: All right.
- 1:40:30Speaker 23: That is not how we worked for 250 years.
- 1:40:33Speaker 15: Right.
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: I mean, at some point.
- 1:40:36Speaker 23: And that is not. That is why the people of
- 1:40:40Speaker 23: this country are very upset.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: I think. News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 1:40:44Speaker 23: And you're on the air.
- 1:40:45Speaker 5: Hello.
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: JJ, the liberal.
- 1:40:55Speaker 25: I am well.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: Thank you for asking.
- 1:40:58Speaker 9: No problem. Dan, I'm glad you're asking questions. I don't like.
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: The idea of we..
- 1:41:11Speaker 9: I'm talking while I'm talking. I'm trying to get in
- 1:41:14Speaker 9: the house here. I've got people trying to... wanting just
- 1:41:17Speaker 9: to blow them all up.
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:41:19Speaker 9: Like you said, we don't... We don't know..
- 1:41:22Speaker 13: We don't know..
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: They're not like us.
- 1:41:25Speaker 9: They don't think like us. And, you know, for us to..
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: Well, you're really out of breath, man.
- 1:41:35Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I'm just moving around. I had to let
- 1:41:36Speaker 9: the dog out and, you know, just family stuff, you know?
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: Yeah. And then I was..
- 1:41:41Speaker 9: I just wanted to let my wife in the door there, but..
- 1:41:44Speaker 3: I.
- 1:41:46Speaker 9: Just don't think it's a... I don't like the idea
- 1:41:48Speaker 9: of just wanting to just say, let's just wipe them out. And,
- 1:41:52Speaker 9: you know, it... You know, and in the same sense,
- 1:41:56Speaker 9: they say that they're worried about, they're worried about us here,
- 1:42:00Speaker 9: that they've never really threatened us. You know, it's all,
- 1:42:04Speaker 9: like I said, it's all just boisterous talk, but they've not,
- 1:42:08Speaker 9: they've not done anything. They haven't bombed us. They haven't
- 1:42:11Speaker 9: come after any of our, our military people, at least
- 1:42:16Speaker 9: not recently. And so it didn't, it just didn't warrant this. And,
- 1:42:20Speaker 9: you know, he said that one guy, I can't remember
- 1:42:22Speaker 9: part of the conversation, he said, you know, that, that
- 1:42:24Speaker 9: bunker buster said, took care of all this, then why
- 1:42:28Speaker 9: are we still there? And, you know, I just have...
- 1:42:32Speaker 9: Are we just going to keep going around and around
- 1:42:34Speaker 9: and around, you know? And I just don't think... I
- 1:42:39Speaker 9: think it was just, you know, he said, it's a
- 1:42:40Speaker 9: bad mistake. I want him to succeed, whether everybody doesn't
- 1:42:44Speaker 9: think I want to, because if he succeeds, then I succeed,
- 1:42:47Speaker 9: and my family succeeds, and then you succeed, everybody succeeds.
- 1:42:51Speaker 9: I'm not that shallow, you know? And I just..
- 1:42:55Speaker 15: I don't know.
- 1:42:56Speaker 9: Maybe I don't even know why I really called, but I,
- 1:42:58Speaker 9: you know, you're just, you're, you're.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: Well, listen, I understand why you called. It's why I say, listen,
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: everybody's entitled to an opinion and we all have one
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: and we should because it involves our country and it's
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: going to involve, we pay a price. whether that's economically
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: or as far as our sons and daughters are concerned,
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: we definitely pay a price. So we should have an opinion.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: As I say, you've got to acknowledge that obviously the
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: people that are making the decisions know a lot more
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: than we do. Do I listen? You have generals that
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: disagree on this, that have a much broader base know-how
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: than any of us have. that are totally disagreeing on this,
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: that understand the logistics of how far it is from
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: the United States and have a better understanding of a
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: military operation because they're generals. And they don't even agree on–
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: they view it differently. So, I mean, all I can
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: say is give you my– My opinion, and my opinion remains,
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: I think he got into this because of Israel. I
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: think they thought they could be out of this much
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: sooner than they are. And I think they're a little
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: bit shocked that they're not out, that it's taken the
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: direction it's taken. And the straight is in a situation
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: that it's in, which is having difficult issues on the world.
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: as far as fertilizer and products that are needed that
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: go beyond oil, other products that are needed. So you
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: will have other countries that will very much suffer a
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: food crisis or starvation that other countries will have that.
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: You'll have other countries that will have major energy problems
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: as far as their citizens are concerned.
- 1:44:52Speaker 9: And it's long-term, because like you said, I don't remember
- 1:44:54Speaker 9: the guy's name. I'm sorry to interrupt you, sir. The
- 1:44:56Speaker 9: guy you said that you were, said it's not going
- 1:44:59Speaker 9: to go down. What's his name again?
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: Well, even Art Berman said, he's an oil analyst, even
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: he said, listen, this is unprecedented. It's hard to say
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: exactly what's going to happen, because it's uncharted waters. No
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: one knows for certain. We can only speculate. And I
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: don't know enough. I learned more about oil than I
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: ever thought I would know. When you hear oil, you
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: think all oil is the same. Well, it's not. I've
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: learned that the oil we have in our country is
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: not the oil that we can refine and make diesel
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: fuel out of, that it's light crude. And I learned
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: about heavy crude. And just by reading this, as I say,
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: you think oil is oil? Well, it's not. You don't.
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: So it's like alcohol, saying alcohol is alcohol.
- 1:45:50Speaker 15: There's beer and there's... A little bit of information on that.
- 1:45:53Speaker 9: And that's true.
- 1:45:55Speaker 16: If you don't know the..
- 1:45:56Speaker 9: You can know 90% of a situation, but that 10%
- 1:45:59Speaker 9: you're missing is..
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: Don't you find it out by reading the experts? I mean,
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: don't you have to basically read the people who... There
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: are a lot of knowledgeable people that you can read
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: what their views are that deal in this stuff all
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: the time. I don't know about the refineries. I don't
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: know about the different types of oil. And I know
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: I've learned heavy crude comes from Russia. It comes from Canada.
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: And it comes from the Middle East. Yeah, and you
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: need that to make diesel. And you need that to
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: make jet fuel. And you need that for shipping. And
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: then I know that we have light crude, and you
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: can use that to make gasoline. And most of the
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: refineries are set up for heavy crude and not light crude.
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: So this is stuff that I've learned. I've learned that
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: when you shut these wells off, as they're doing, you
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: can't turn them back on like a light switch. That
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: when you turn them on, it takes a considerable amount
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: of time for them to get active again. And sometimes
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: when you turn them back on, they don't get active again.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: It's one of the risks you take in shutting an
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: oil well down. I didn't know that. So I learned
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: it from these experts on it. So they also tell
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: me that you have an oil shortage that's going on
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: because you've got all this oil that's been taken out
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: of the pipeline. And you've got people depleting their strategic
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: oil reserves. China and the United States put 17 million
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: barrels out there to try to keep prices down so
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: that you actually have somewhat of an oil shortage. I
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: don't know any of this. These guys that follow this
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: stuff know all of this stuff. So they're the ones
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: saying it's not a good picture as you get further
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: into July without an agreement or August. It just gets worse.
- 1:47:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:47:51Speaker 9: I just want to leave you with this because I
- 1:47:52Speaker 9: know you've got other people on the line waiting. But
- 1:47:54Speaker 9: one thing that it gets me is that I wish
- 1:47:56Speaker 9: you would just quit saying you're going to have a
- 1:48:00Speaker 9: 60-day or a 30-day or a 20-day or 40 hours
- 1:48:02Speaker 9: or whatever it might be just because it really doesn't
- 1:48:05Speaker 9: mean anything anymore. Because when we go up, the stocks,
- 1:48:11Speaker 9: everything goes based on what President Trump says sometimes. So
- 1:48:15Speaker 9: I wish you would just kind of pull that back
- 1:48:17Speaker 9: a little bit, restrain from being so informative at times,
- 1:48:21Speaker 9: you know, and because then we're hoping and praying based
- 1:48:25Speaker 9: on what he tells us, whether things are going to
- 1:48:27Speaker 9: turn around for us. So, but I just wanted to
- 1:48:31Speaker 9: call him and hear your voice and say hi to you.
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: I appreciate it.
- 1:48:34Speaker 9: I'll tell you again, I'm proud of everything you're doing
- 1:48:36Speaker 9: for us.
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: Are you going? Well, maybe you'll be at that flea
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: market tomorrow. If you do, go see the boss lady.
- 1:48:41Speaker 9: In fact, I'm finishing up one of my other paintings
- 1:48:43Speaker 9: right now, and I'm going to be out there. And
- 1:48:45Speaker 9: if you want to stop by, I'd like to have
- 1:48:47Speaker 9: something for you.
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: Well, go see the boss lady. She's going to be there.
- 1:48:51Speaker 9: I promise I will do that. I promise I will
- 1:48:53Speaker 9: do that.
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: I expect a picture. Thank you. All right. It's interesting
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: just when you look at this whole situation. I mean,
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: I spend way too much time. just trying to get
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: the input of people that are experts in these fields.
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: And then you look at the experts, like I say,
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: you got generals who disagree on how this situation is
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: going and they know a lot more about it than
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: any of us. You know, when I've started listening to
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: these generals and then I started hearing, well, you know,
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: you got to look at the logistics. How far is
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: it to get the, get supplies to that area? It's
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: like 6,000 miles. So logistics makes a big difference. I
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: started listening to some of these generals. Well, when people
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: are fighting for their homeland, that's a lot different than
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: if you're the outside. Look at in Vietnam when we
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: were doing all this bombing and had all this sophisticated equipment. Well,
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: those people, that was where they lived and they ended
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: up being successful at the outcome of it. So when
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: you listen to these generals and you, And they start
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: saying you really can't win a war by simply bombing
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: from the air. It's just this idea that you can
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: win that way is ridiculous. And, okay, so I listened
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: to them generals tell me that. Well, you can't. You're
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: not going to win that way. It's just not going
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: to work. So, okay, so then I got to agree
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: with Trump, the Trump administration. I don't think Iran's in
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: a good position at all. I mean, I think they're devastated,
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: economically speaking. I mean, I think they are, and 100%,
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: their economy's got to suck big time, and they're devastated.
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: But are they willing to, are they, from a culture,
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: willing to wait it out and say, we're not giving
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: in to this at all? We'll wait this out. We
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: can wait it out longer than you can, and we'll
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: cause economic harm to the United States with inflation and
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: oil prices too. You know, for every action, there's a reaction.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: Where Iran can say, well, you do that. Early on,
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: Iran says, you do that to us. Here's what we're
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: going to do. We're going to take out some of
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: the oil capacities in some of these places and oil
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: prices will soar even more. I mean, I don't know
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: that anything in a military war operation is predictable. So,
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: I mean, it seems to me like Trump wants to
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: try to put an end to this and reach some
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: type of an agreement. And it seems to me the
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: other day he was pissed at Netanyahu because he kept
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: dealing with Lebanon and doing things that were not making
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: it easy to reach an agreement. Is that theatrics?
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: Is that reality? Who knows? But what's the game plan?
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: So if you fired back up and go bomb some more,
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: explain to all of us how that's going to work
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: this time if it didn't work last time. I mean,
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: so I don't know that anybody really knows. I think
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: the whole thing is uncharted water. You're on air.
- 1:52:28Speaker 23: Sorry, we got disconnected. Am I allowed to speak?
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: Real quickly, because it's one call per program, okay?
- 1:52:35Speaker 23: I know, I know, I know. The guy that called
- 1:52:38Speaker 23: in from the Marine Corps? Yeah. He said he was
- 1:52:41Speaker 23: an E-4 corporal.
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 1:52:43Speaker 23: He was with an E-4 corporal.
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: I don't remember if that's what he said he was,
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: but anyway.
- 1:52:48Speaker 23: I'm pretty sure that's what he said he was. An
- 1:52:50Speaker 23: E-4 corporal is usually in charge of a squad. Now,
- 1:52:54Speaker 23: that squad is about 12 or 13 men in the
- 1:52:57Speaker 23: Marine Corps.
- 1:52:59Speaker 4: Now..
- 1:53:00Speaker 23: His insight that he had as a corporal was very insightful.
- 1:53:08Speaker 23: It was very good. If you were listening to him,
- 1:53:12Speaker 23: now he is an E4. Again, look it up. You'll
- 1:53:17Speaker 23: understand what I'm talking about. And the reason I'm saying
- 1:53:21Speaker 23: this is because, again, I'm not trying to— You tell
- 1:53:26Speaker 23: that corporal that you are talking to a grand corpsman
- 1:53:32Speaker 23: that ended up with the Marine Corps. And that's how
- 1:53:35Speaker 23: I know about this kind of stuff. His insightfulness after
- 1:53:40Speaker 23: all these years is very, very good. And you should
- 1:53:45Speaker 23: pay close attention to what he was saying. Now, he
- 1:53:50Speaker 23: was very far down the chain of command as far
- 1:53:54Speaker 23: as making any kind of It is what, you know,
- 1:53:59Speaker 23: what the president, vice president, it's not even close. But
- 1:54:08Speaker 23: what I'm trying to say is the average guy out
- 1:54:13Speaker 23: there has a lot of answers for this country. And
- 1:54:18Speaker 23: they're not paying attention to him. They're not paying attention.
- 1:54:23Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: I got to move along. Thank you. You're on the air.
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: Good afternoon, Roland.
- 1:54:27Speaker 3: How are you?
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: I'm well. Go ahead, please.
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: I'm afraid this war is going to be another Vietnam.
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: And I think if it goes past Labor Day, there
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: will be a blue wave in November.
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: I hope not, but I think you might be correct.
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: I'm afraid. One thing that's interesting, we're celebrating our 250th
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: birthday this year. And 100 years ago, we had a
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: song called Over There. And the last line of the
- 1:55:01Speaker 2: Over There says, we won't come back until it's over
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: over there. Well, lately, all of our wars, they're never
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: over over there. So I don't know. Of course, President
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: Eisenhower warned us against the military-industrial complex. And that's what
- 1:55:23Speaker 2: we're dealing with now. Because war is good for business,
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: you know that.
- 1:55:27Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:55:28Speaker 2: And the Trump family is making money off this war
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: because they're selling drones to all the countries that are
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: around them and that the Iranians are bombing. So the
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: Trumps are making money off this deal. And that's not right.
- 1:55:46Speaker 14: Okay.
- 1:55:48Speaker 15: Okay.
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: I pray every night that this war comes to an end,
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: but I'm afraid it's not going to come to an end.
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: And I don't want to send our boots on the ground,
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: because that would be stupid, too. And we can't nuke them,
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: because if we start throwing around nukes, everybody will throw them,
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: and then the world will be over. And we don't
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: want that.
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: All right. Thank you.
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: Have a great day, Ron.
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 1:56:19Speaker 28: Fifth Avenue called him three times. He needs sanctions to
- 1:56:22Speaker 28: the highest degree, Ron.
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: Thank you. Unacceptable. Okay.
- 1:56:26Speaker 29: Some risk assessment here.
- 1:56:28Speaker 28: I think I caught you and Jake earlier today. Were
- 1:56:30Speaker 28: you talking about what happens when you meet your untimely
- 1:56:33Speaker 28: demise at 103 years old?
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: I was looking at what happened to Bitcoin today. Oh, yeah.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: You took a little bit of a hit there, huh?
- 1:56:45Speaker 28: I think you might be confusing volatility and risk there.
- 1:56:50Speaker 11: Okay.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: I just wanted you to know I was concerned about you.
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: That's all that I was looking.
- 1:56:56Speaker 8: I'm glad.
- 1:56:56Speaker 28: You should just only be concerned if I have enough
- 1:56:58Speaker 28: to buy the dip.
- 1:57:01Speaker 4: Oh, I know you got that.
- 1:57:04Speaker 14: You and Jake might have been talking about what's going.
- 1:57:06Speaker 9: To happen once you pass away at the age of 103.
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:57:13Speaker 28: Yes. So I already have the answer, and I would
- 1:57:17Speaker 28: ask if I could have the rights to have your
- 1:57:19Speaker 28: cloned voice for an AI agent to use. You could
- 1:57:23Speaker 28: just continue on indefinitely. You could be like Casey Kasem.
- 1:57:26Speaker 28: He's still doing the top 20 or whatever.
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: How long has our bell been dead, and we run
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: them every Saturday?
- 1:57:32Speaker 25: Well, that's what I mean.
- 1:57:34Speaker 28: But if you can have brand-new shows all the time,
- 1:57:37Speaker 28: you just get all your euphemisms, everything, the AI knows
- 1:57:40Speaker 28: what you like, you upload all the podcasts, it'd be fine.
- 1:57:42Speaker 8: And I think..
- 1:57:43Speaker 28: Right now would be a good time to just let
- 1:57:45Speaker 28: me have the rights to that.
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: Okay, I'll give it some consideration. I'm more interested.
- 1:57:50Speaker 28: Are you going to let me do that? Because if so,
- 1:57:53Speaker 28: I just made a deal with Iran.
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: No, I'm interested in what you have to say about
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: Iran as you go through all of this. I am
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: genuinely interested. Don't go anywhere. Let me do my break
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: because everyone says he's a smart guy. because he is.
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: I want to get his take.
- 1:58:11Speaker 16: All righty. So what do you think? Give me your assessment.
- 1:58:23Speaker 28: Well, our messaging on everything with Iran is about as
- 1:58:26Speaker 28: consistent as diarrhea. I have no idea what's going on there.
- 1:58:29Speaker 4: Nobody does.
- 1:58:29Speaker 28: And anybody who opines on it is only speculating. I
- 1:58:33Speaker 28: just wish I'd hear more about what happened in Venezuela.
- 1:58:35Speaker 14: You don't hear anything.
- 1:58:36Speaker 28: About that anymore.
- 1:58:37Speaker 6: We have a deal.
- 1:58:38Speaker 28: We don't have a deal with Iran. It's the same
- 1:58:39Speaker 28: story every day, just a different narrative.
- 1:58:42Speaker 8: And it stinks.
- 1:58:43Speaker 28: I mean, if you look at the market today, it
- 1:58:45Speaker 28: absolutely tanked. I'm sure Frank had already gotten out of
- 1:58:48Speaker 28: everything yesterday right before the drawback today.
- 1:58:52Speaker 24: But Everything's a mess.
- 1:58:53Speaker 28: Everything, interest rates are up, gas prices are up, your
- 1:58:58Speaker 28: blood pressure's up.
- 1:59:00Speaker 21: I don't know.
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: So what do you think, I mean, what do you
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: make of this situation? It's, I mean, it's just, I
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: think Rich, Rich, a pharmacist, he had the best line.
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: It's a quagmire. He said Trump's put himself in a quagmire.
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: Do you agree with that? Because I do.
- 1:59:18Speaker 28: I think so. Look, we're not even negotiating with them.
- 1:59:20Speaker 28: We're negotiating with an intermediary, which is Pakistan. We've had
- 1:59:24Speaker 28: talks with whoever was in charge at that time before
- 1:59:27Speaker 28: they got blown up in Islamabad, which is the same
- 1:59:31Speaker 28: city that was harboring Osama bin Laden. Why are we
- 1:59:33Speaker 28: even dealing with them? I don't understand. It's a huge mess.
- 1:59:38Speaker 28: The president of Iran, he just resigned the other day,
- 1:59:41Speaker 28: so he's not even in charge because he says the
- 1:59:43Speaker 28: military is under control. Yeah, you could bomb them until oblivion,
- 1:59:47Speaker 28: but then it's just the next man up, as we've
- 1:59:50Speaker 28: seen after killing the, what, 55 top officials. Number 56
- 1:59:55Speaker 28: is now in charge, apparently, and they're all the same.
- 1:59:58Speaker 28: So unless you change something in any other sort of way,
- 2:00:02Speaker 28: nothing's really going to be changing anytime soon.
- 2:00:04Speaker 29: So I agree.
- 2:00:05Speaker 28: If something doesn't happen by the midterms, but who knows?
- 2:00:08Speaker 28: A lot can happen between now and then. I hope
- 2:00:10Speaker 28: it ends quickly and everything goes back to normal. But
- 2:00:13Speaker 28: I don't know what normal is going to be after
- 2:00:15Speaker 28: everything's over.
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: That is, you know, kudos to you. That's extremely well said.
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: Thank you. I appreciate your time, Alec. You know that.
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 2:00:24Speaker 4: Have a good weekend.
- 2:00:25Speaker 19: All right.
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: I mean, now that was concise to the point and
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: just simply well said. And everybody's in our, I mean,
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: he really made a great statement. Everybody's an armchair general.
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: All I do is listen to these different generals and
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: these oil brokers and try to absorb their knowledge to
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: render an opinion based on what all of them have
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: to say because they know a lot more than the
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: rest of us. Back with more in a minute. News
- 2:00:54Speaker 1: Radio 570 WQEN taking your calls till 7 tonight. Ron
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: Ferb from the Kingdom of Mahoning.
- 2:01:04Speaker 19: From ABC News. I'm Mike Dabusky. President Trump says the
- 2:01:09Speaker 19: soon-to-be acting director of national intelligence, Bill Pulte, should cut
- 2:01:13Speaker 19: positions at the country's spy agencies. ABC's Karen Travers.
- 2:01:17Speaker 20: We need it clear that this really is an acting
- 2:01:19Speaker 20: role for Bill Pulte as the director of national intelligence,
- 2:01:23Speaker 20: that he will be serving in this capacity for a
- 2:01:25Speaker 20: period of time, but that he is already talking to
- 2:01:28Speaker 20: people to fill that role permanently. The president says he
- 2:01:32Speaker 20: has five interviews set up with people to potentially be
- 2:01:36Speaker 20: the next director of national intelligence he didn't get specific
- 2:01:39Speaker 20: on who he is talking to but he said they're
- 2:01:42Speaker 20: all very good people you know very well and people
- 2:01:45Speaker 20: that do that kind of thing and he called them respected.
- 2:01:49Speaker 19: People the president also reacting to today's better than expected
- 2:01:53Speaker 19: jobs report so we.
- 2:01:54Speaker 18: Had incredible job numbers today you saw that And we
- 2:01:59Speaker 18: have good everything, good numbers, but the job numbers just
- 2:02:03Speaker 18: came out and they were fantastic.
- 2:02:04Speaker 19: More on those numbers from ABC's Sherry Preston.
- 2:02:07Speaker 30: Another strong jobs report, this one for the month of May.
- 2:02:10Speaker 30: Analysts have been expecting about 80,000 jobs to have been
- 2:02:13Speaker 30: added to the U.S.
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: Economy last month. Instead, they added a solid 172,000.
- 2:02:17Speaker 30: Showing resilience despite rising costs from the war. Revised numbers
- 2:02:23Speaker 30: for March and April also show even more hiring than
- 2:02:26Speaker 30: had been reported. The unemployment rate remains unchanged at 4.3%,
- 2:02:31Speaker 30: where it's been for most of the year.
- 2:02:33Speaker 19: In Aurora, Colorado, there is an outcry over an appeals
- 2:02:36Speaker 19: court decision to reverse the homicide convictions of two paramedics
- 2:02:40Speaker 19: who had been charged in connection with the death of
- 2:02:42Speaker 19: Elijah McClain. Median Schaffner is with the advocacy group Epitome
- 2:02:46Speaker 19: of Black Excellence and Partnership.
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: You can put it in whatever words you need to.
- 2:02:52Speaker 17: We know that the Colorado Appellate Court just simply moved
- 2:02:55Speaker 17: the goalposts.
- 2:02:58Speaker 9: That's all they did.
- 2:02:59Speaker 19: You're listening to ABC News.
- 2:03:02Speaker 16: Hot summer. WKBN.com.
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: Back to it. News Radio 570 WKBN. And Ron Verb,
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: you're on the air.
- 2:03:11Speaker 14: I got to turn the radio off. My blood pressure's
- 2:03:14Speaker 14: going off.
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: It's the best thing for your heart. How is the ticker, incidentally?
- 2:03:19Speaker 13: Well, I don't know.
- 2:03:20Speaker 14: I don't think it's as good as it was a
- 2:03:22Speaker 14: couple years ago. I can tell you that.
- 2:03:24Speaker 28: I feel a difference.
- 2:03:25Speaker 14: But nothing I can.
- 2:03:26Speaker 12: Do about it.
- 2:03:27Speaker 3: Really?
- 2:03:27Speaker 1: I mean, so..
- 2:03:28Speaker 14: Yeah. I called in because over the years, I've heard J.J.
- 2:03:34Speaker 14: say some really crazy things. But when he says that
- 2:03:38Speaker 14: Iran really isn't threatening us, really isn't hurting us, I
- 2:03:44Speaker 14: don't know what world that kid lives in. They have killed, wounded,
- 2:03:50Speaker 14: maimed thousands of our soldiers over the years. Thousands. Those
- 2:03:56Speaker 14: people over there, you've got the guy from Kansas. He says, oh,
- 2:04:00Speaker 14: three levels in a row I get. Okay, after changing.
- 2:04:03Speaker 14: The guy from Kansas, oh, we.
- 2:04:05Speaker 11: Don't want to drop nukes. Oh, everybody's going to throw
- 2:04:07Speaker 11: nukes around.
- 2:04:08Speaker 14: It'll be the end of the world. When we dropped
- 2:04:12Speaker 14: two nukes on Japan, who came after us? Nobody. How
- 2:04:17Speaker 14: many ground troops did we have in Japan when we
- 2:04:20Speaker 14: dropped those bombs?
- 2:04:22Speaker 13: None.
- 2:04:24Speaker 14: The only thing those people over there understand is power.
- 2:04:29Speaker 14: We are the single most powerful nation in the world.
- 2:04:33Speaker 14: There is no one more powerful than us. And I'm
- 2:04:36Speaker 14: going to tell you right now, after what we did
- 2:04:39Speaker 14: there in a few weeks, Russia's afraid of us, and
- 2:04:43Speaker 14: so is China. And if you want to end this, Trump,
- 2:04:47Speaker 14: I'm so disappointed because he's letting them stall him. He's
- 2:04:52Speaker 14: supposed to be a great negotiator. I've been negotiating for
- 2:04:56Speaker 14: 38 years of my life, 39 years of my life.
- 2:04:59Speaker 14: There comes a point when you say, no, you're stalling me,
- 2:05:04Speaker 14: and you change your tactics, and they are just stalling you.
- 2:05:08Speaker 14: And he's letting this country go down the drain because
- 2:05:12Speaker 14: of their stall tactics. That's all it is. They should
- 2:05:16Speaker 14: get up, walk out of the negotiations, don't say a
- 2:05:19Speaker 14: word to the press, which is probably one of the
- 2:05:22Speaker 14: biggest enemies within that we have in this country, get
- 2:05:25Speaker 14: up and walk away. After we're all out of the country,
- 2:05:29Speaker 14: we drop a great big nuke in the middle of Tehran,
- 2:05:33Speaker 14: and we don't say a word about it. We drop it,
- 2:05:37Speaker 14: and we wait for them to call us. And if
- 2:05:39Speaker 14: they don't call us, we take out the Strait. We
- 2:05:43Speaker 14: should do that first. We should open the Strait first.
- 2:05:46Speaker 14: They are nothing compared to us, okay? We should wipe
- 2:05:50Speaker 14: those people out, take the straight out. That doesn't bring
- 2:05:55Speaker 14: them to their knees. Drop a nuke in the middle
- 2:05:58Speaker 14: of Tehran, right dead center in the middle. Because you
- 2:06:02Speaker 14: know what? Half those people are better off dead than
- 2:06:05Speaker 14: the living conditions they have right now under that regime.
- 2:06:09Speaker 14: So drop it there and see what they do. Let
- 2:06:12Speaker 14: them make the next move. They're not going to nuke us.
- 2:06:15Speaker 14: They can't. And I don't think anybody's going to come
- 2:06:19Speaker 14: running to their aid. Because nobody in that area wants
- 2:06:22Speaker 14: anything to do with it. Because they're criminals, they're terrorists,
- 2:06:26Speaker 14: and they're morons. And it's time we just put an
- 2:06:29Speaker 14: end to that whole country, which is just a pain
- 2:06:32Speaker 14: in everybody's rear end in the whole world. I am
- 2:06:36Speaker 14: sick and tired of Iran. We have the greatest president
- 2:06:39Speaker 14: we've ever had who could do the greatest things that
- 2:06:42Speaker 14: ever been done. And we're all tied up waiting for Iran...
- 2:06:46Speaker 14: to make decisions and negotiate with us. Throw the negotiations
- 2:06:49Speaker 14: out the window.
- 2:06:51Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:06:52Speaker 14: I think the oil prices, you hope that's straight, the
- 2:06:55Speaker 14: oil prices will be normal in three weeks. They're coming
- 2:06:57Speaker 14: down now, and we're not even doing anything to improve it.
- 2:07:01Speaker 14: And they're coming down. I think everybody's panicking over nothing.
- 2:07:05Speaker 14: It's not going to be a long-term thing. Half these analysts,
- 2:07:08Speaker 14: I'm sure, based on this country, 50% of them are liberals,
- 2:07:12Speaker 14: which tells me they're idiots.
- 2:07:14Speaker 11: Okay?
- 2:07:14Speaker 14: So you got 50% of the opinion is from an idiot.
- 2:07:18Speaker 14: Take the other 50% and gamble that we're going to
- 2:07:21Speaker 14: drop the prices quicker. I mean, this is just, it's
- 2:07:24Speaker 14: so ridiculous. This Fifth Avenue guy, I mean, he calls five,
- 2:07:28Speaker 14: six times a day. He's calling it. I mean, I
- 2:07:31Speaker 14: don't want to hear him. He just, you know, it's
- 2:07:34Speaker 14: the same old thing. He hates Trump. He's so happy
- 2:07:38Speaker 14: that they took Trump's name off the Kennedy Center. Trump
- 2:07:42Speaker 14: is the only one to spend 10 cents improving the
- 2:07:45Speaker 14: Kennedy Center, which was a disgrace, the condition it was in.
- 2:07:49Speaker 14: But he's happy. The guy's got Trump's arrangement system staged
- 2:07:54Speaker 14: for him. I'm telling you, he better wake up, get
- 2:07:57Speaker 14: out of his kitchen, go get some fresh air. get
- 2:08:00Speaker 14: some oxygen to his brain, because he needs it. I mean,
- 2:08:03Speaker 14: how you could be against anybody improving America like that
- 2:08:07Speaker 14: guy is, it makes no sense to me. And I
- 2:08:10Speaker 14: got to tell you, my lawn is perfect. Okay? But
- 2:08:15Speaker 14: if I lived beside him, I wouldn't cut my grass either,
- 2:08:18Speaker 14: just to spite him. I would just let it go.
- 2:08:21Speaker 14: And that's probably, that's exactly why the two neighbors beside
- 2:08:28Speaker 14: him probably do it. They probably know what a pain
- 2:08:30Speaker 14: in the rear end this guy is, how opinionated he is,
- 2:08:33Speaker 14: how whacked out he is with the liberalism. And they
- 2:08:37Speaker 14: probably said, screw him.
- 2:08:38Speaker 9: Well, it's okay.
- 2:08:40Speaker 14: And I'm going to make him mad.
- 2:08:42Speaker 1: Take a deep breath.
- 2:08:45Speaker 14: And then we got Biden.
- 2:08:46Speaker 11: You're J.J.
- 2:08:47Speaker 13: Doing art now.
- 2:08:49Speaker 14: I don't know what to buy first, a J.J. painting
- 2:08:52Speaker 14: or a Biden painting. You know, Hunter paintings.
- 2:08:55Speaker 9: Hunter's paintings dropped off.
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: You've got to go to the four-season flea market. I
- 2:08:59Speaker 1: think that's where he's going to be tomorrow selling his paintings.
- 2:09:02Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: Go take a look. Maybe he'll do a portrait of
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: you while you're right there.
- 2:09:08Speaker 14: The real artiste he is.
- 2:09:09Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:09:11Speaker 1: You never know. You never know. All right, Nick. You
- 2:09:15Speaker 1: take a deep breath and enjoy your weekend, all right?
- 2:09:19Speaker 14: Oh, I'm going to enjoy it.
- 2:09:20Speaker 4: All right, buddy.
- 2:09:22Speaker 11: Trump's got to get moving on this.
- 2:09:23Speaker 14: He can't be waiting for them. They're playing him.
- 2:09:26Speaker 15: And he can't let it go on any longer.
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: Well, what should he do? What should he do?
- 2:09:32Speaker 14: Stop negotiating with them.
- 2:09:33Speaker 11: Show them power.
- 2:09:35Speaker 14: That's all they understand. Don't talk to them.
- 2:09:38Speaker 3: Just bomb them.
- 2:09:40Speaker 14: I'm telling you, bomb them. And if you don't want
- 2:09:42Speaker 14: to start because, oh, it's too hard to start with Dukes,
- 2:09:45Speaker 14: Bomb them with conventional bombs.
- 2:09:47Speaker 11: Just shatter. We've killed how many?
- 2:09:50Speaker 14: Maybe we're down to leader number 56. Maybe when we
- 2:09:53Speaker 14: get to 280, the 281st one may say, we've got
- 2:09:56Speaker 14: to do something. Maybe that's what it will take. Because
- 2:10:00Speaker 14: so far, none of them are worth anything. They're just scum.
- 2:10:05Speaker 14: And it's like killing cockroaches to me. It really is.
- 2:10:08Speaker 14: These people, when they say they want to kill you,
- 2:10:10Speaker 14: they want to kill America, you damn well better believe them.
- 2:10:13Speaker 14: They're not saying that to hear their head rattle. They're
- 2:10:16Speaker 14: saying it because they want us dead. And now that
- 2:10:20Speaker 14: we shook the Hornets' deaths half apart, they will all
- 2:10:24Speaker 14: want us dead now. Not just their government. It's them.
- 2:10:28Speaker 3: It's all of them.
- 2:10:29Speaker 14: I can remember watching on TV American flags burning, death
- 2:10:33Speaker 14: to America, death to America. Okay, we started it. Right, wrong,
- 2:10:37Speaker 14: and different. Did we do it because of Israel? I
- 2:10:39Speaker 14: don't know. Probably had something to do with it. But
- 2:10:42Speaker 14: Israel whacked a lot of them and got a lot
- 2:10:44Speaker 14: of them out of there. So now that we're in it,
- 2:10:47Speaker 14: let's finish it. I don't want this quagmire of peace,
- 2:10:50Speaker 14: and I don't want the quagmire of war. We tried
- 2:10:53Speaker 14: both ways. Trump has bent over backwards for them. He's
- 2:10:57Speaker 14: on the radio or on TV saying, we're going to
- 2:11:00Speaker 14: agree to this, we agree to this. And then some
- 2:11:01Speaker 14: idiot over there gets on at the same time and says,
- 2:11:04Speaker 14: we didn't agree to nothing. Okay, you want to make
- 2:11:06Speaker 14: them agree? Show them power. That's what they understand. You
- 2:11:12Speaker 14: start showing them power, and you can bring them to
- 2:11:14Speaker 14: their knees. And when they finally surrender, you bomb them
- 2:11:18Speaker 14: two more times, just for good measure. Two more big ones.
- 2:11:23Speaker 14: Just so they understand, if you change your mind when
- 2:11:26Speaker 14: Trump leaves, this could happen to you again. And that's
- 2:11:30Speaker 14: the honest-to-God truth. We are playing around with very dangerous
- 2:11:33Speaker 14: people who want us dead, We're letting them negotiate. We're
- 2:11:37Speaker 14: letting them rebuild weapons. Just get rid of them. You
- 2:11:41Speaker 14: are being played, Mr. President. You know, if somebody's buying
- 2:11:45Speaker 14: a car for me and I'm negotiating with them and
- 2:11:47Speaker 14: they just go sideways on me, I can't duke them.
- 2:11:50Speaker 14: I have to figure out what I'm going to do.
- 2:11:52Speaker 14: But they're not doing it so they can kill me.
- 2:11:55Speaker 14: They just want to buy a car.
- 2:11:57Speaker 9: This is the big leagues.
- 2:11:59Speaker 14: I mean, he just has to say, I'm sick of
- 2:12:02Speaker 14: you people. I'm done. Wipe his hands. Don't let the
- 2:12:05Speaker 14: media get a hold of any information. Just nuke them.
- 2:12:08Speaker 14: And let the Iranian media come out and say, oh,
- 2:12:11Speaker 14: my God, they nuked him. Let it go like that.
- 2:12:14Speaker 14: And just the less he says to them, the better
- 2:12:16Speaker 14: off he is.
- 2:12:18Speaker 7: Okay.
- 2:12:18Speaker 14: They blink first, they lose. I'm telling you right now.
- 2:12:22Speaker 24: There it is.
- 2:12:23Speaker 1: Nick wanted to drop the nuke, right?
- 2:12:27Speaker 14: Absolutely.
- 2:12:28Speaker 1: I mean..
- 2:12:29Speaker 14: What else are we going to do? You want to
- 2:12:31Speaker 14: sit there and play with them for another six months?
- 2:12:33Speaker 11: Lose the election?
- 2:12:34Speaker 14: Lose the Senate? Lose the House? Put in this guy
- 2:12:36Speaker 14: with the nipple Nazi tattoo? The guy who was friends
- 2:12:40Speaker 14: with the sheik who put together 9-11? The Democrats want
- 2:12:44Speaker 14: to put them in? They think they're better off with them?
- 2:12:47Speaker 14: AOC and the squad? All those terrorists, basically, that we
- 2:12:51Speaker 14: elected to Congress? I mean, we have so many screwed
- 2:12:55Speaker 14: up liberals in this country. That could happen. We could
- 2:12:59Speaker 14: have terrorists running our country, and we better wake up.
- 2:13:04Speaker 14: I would just set the example. I would make Iran
- 2:13:06Speaker 14: the example. No one, not Russia, not China, they're going
- 2:13:10Speaker 14: to go talk to the U.N. They're going to condemn it,
- 2:13:12Speaker 14: but not one of them is going to do anything
- 2:13:14Speaker 14: to us.
- 2:13:15Speaker 25: Russia couldn't beat Ukraine in.
- 2:13:16Speaker 14: Six, seven years, for God's sake.
- 2:13:19Speaker 11: Okay?
- 2:13:19Speaker 14: They got all the nukes in the world. They haven't
- 2:13:22Speaker 14: beat Ukraine. You know why they haven't beat Ukraine? They're
- 2:13:25Speaker 14: afraid of us if they launch the nuke.
- 2:13:27Speaker 6: That's why they haven't.
- 2:13:29Speaker 14: Russia is afraid of us. Yeah, they should be. And
- 2:13:31Speaker 14: China should be, too. I mean, all those Chinese soldiers
- 2:13:35Speaker 14: walking around marching, you know, the thousands of them are marching.
- 2:13:38Speaker 14: A couple of nukes, they're gone, too.
- 2:13:40Speaker 9: Let's be realistic.
- 2:13:44Speaker 14: They cannot destroy us. We can destroy them. And I
- 2:13:48Speaker 14: truly believe that. You know, they laughed at Trump, all
- 2:13:50Speaker 14: the liberals. Oh, my God, Space Force. It was a
- 2:13:52Speaker 14: big joke. Well, because of Space Force, we can watch
- 2:13:56Speaker 14: what they're doing now. with all the nukes, the dust
- 2:13:59Speaker 14: that they have left, we can watch everything because of space.
- 2:14:03Speaker 23: Okay?
- 2:14:04Speaker 14: They're not going to get over us on help. You
- 2:14:06Speaker 14: think China's going to put people on the moon and
- 2:14:08Speaker 14: shut people? They're not going to do that.
- 2:14:11Speaker 3: They're not going to do it.
- 2:14:12Speaker 14: China's going to be broke pretty soon. If they lose
- 2:14:15Speaker 14: this cheap Iranian oil, their economy's going to be crashing.
- 2:14:22Speaker 1: So..
- 2:14:22Speaker 11: I just..
- 2:14:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:14:25Speaker 14: We're the biggest power act like it.
- 2:14:27Speaker 6: Act like it.
- 2:14:28Speaker 14: That's all I'm saying. We owe no country nothing. As
- 2:14:32Speaker 14: far as I'm concerned, we have supported countries around the
- 2:14:35Speaker 14: world since before I was born. We have spent more
- 2:14:39Speaker 14: money on foreign aid, foreign help, than any two countries
- 2:14:45Speaker 14: put together. And people always want to stab us in
- 2:14:49Speaker 14: the back. You've got these Republicans that want to go
- 2:14:54Speaker 14: against everything the president wants. I'm glad they lost. A
- 2:14:58Speaker 14: lot of them now against the SAFE Act, they're all losers.
- 2:15:01Speaker 14: All losers from the election. And that's a great thing.
- 2:15:04Speaker 14: We've got to get them out. But if Trump wants
- 2:15:06Speaker 14: to keep guys like me and keep the base that
- 2:15:10Speaker 14: he has built, he's got to do something. He can't
- 2:15:13Speaker 14: sit there and try. And God bless him. He wanted
- 2:15:17Speaker 14: to end it peacefully. Nobody dying. This is a war.
- 2:15:21Speaker 14: People are going to die. Hopefully our people aren't going
- 2:15:24Speaker 14: to die.
- 2:15:25Speaker 9: And if we use snoops..
- 2:15:26Speaker 14: They aren't going to die. They're going to be above
- 2:15:29Speaker 14: it all, and they're going to get out of it.
- 2:15:30Speaker 14: We don't have troops on the ground. We don't need
- 2:15:33Speaker 14: troops on the ground. A couple of bombs. Look at
- 2:15:39Speaker 14: the attitude adjustment it gave Japan. Look at that. How
- 2:15:43Speaker 14: quickly they changed their mind and surrendered. I'm telling you,
- 2:15:47Speaker 14: you've got to do that. They are not going to
- 2:15:49Speaker 14: back down.
- 2:15:51Speaker 4: There it is.
- 2:15:52Speaker 1: General Nick. Thank you, Nick. Appreciate it. You're on the air.
- 2:15:57Speaker 29: I want to give Nick an aye-aye, Captain.
- 2:16:00Speaker 1: Excuse me, that's General Nick.
- 2:16:03Speaker 29: General Nick, aye-aye, Captain.
- 2:16:05Speaker 3: Aye-aye, General.
- 2:16:07Speaker 29: You agree with him? 90% of your callers, you are
- 2:16:11Speaker 29: dead wrong on everything you said today.
- 2:16:14Speaker 25: You're looking at the.
- 2:16:16Speaker 29: Glass half-empty instead of half-full. And I believe, and Ron,
- 2:16:20Speaker 29: I'm coming with some tough love today.
- 2:16:22Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:16:23Speaker 29: But I think you're the same guy... when the Twin
- 2:16:26Speaker 29: Towers came down, that probably said, why didn't we do
- 2:16:30Speaker 29: something to prevent this? I'll bet you said that. I'll
- 2:16:33Speaker 29: bet you said that when you were pulling that..
- 2:16:35Speaker 1: Well, you know what? It's a much different scenario because
- 2:16:39Speaker 1: those people were... Yes, it is. Those people were in
- 2:16:42Speaker 1: our country and that whole thing could have been prevented
- 2:16:45Speaker 1: if you look at Brennan..
- 2:16:46Speaker 29: How do you know who's in our country right now?
- 2:16:48Speaker 29: The border's been.
- 2:16:50Speaker 1: Open for four years. You brought up September 11th. If
- 2:16:53Speaker 1: you really take a look at Those people were here.
- 2:16:56Speaker 1: We knew they were here. Brennan knew they were here.
- 2:16:59Speaker 1: I think it reflects total intelligence incompetence that they weren't
- 2:17:03Speaker 1: apprehended and stopped before it happened.
- 2:17:05Speaker 29: What we're seeing right now is not total intelligence incompetence.
- 2:17:08Speaker 1: Well, I don't know.
- 2:17:09Speaker 9: People who know the least.
- 2:17:10Speaker 29: Right now, people who know the least think they know
- 2:17:13Speaker 29: the most.
- 2:17:14Speaker 1: Well, I don't know that anyone knows everything. Everyone has
- 2:17:16Speaker 1: an opinion. I think Nick's opinion is he's tired of
- 2:17:20Speaker 1: the ceasefire on and off. He wants to nuke them.
- 2:17:24Speaker 3: I'm with Nick.
- 2:17:26Speaker 6: I support my president.
- 2:17:27Speaker 29: I support Trump 100 percent for what he's doing.
- 2:17:30Speaker 1: I don't hear Trump. Well, wait a minute. Well, wait
- 2:17:33Speaker 1: a minute. Wait a minute. You support your president. Trump
- 2:17:35Speaker 1: isn't talking about nuking him. Nick is criticizing Trump for
- 2:17:38Speaker 1: all the ceasefires.
- 2:17:39Speaker 6: Whereas you and Fifth Avenue, Frank and JJ, you guys
- 2:17:45Speaker 6: are bashing him like he doesn't know what he's doing.
- 2:17:48Speaker 6: No one, you know, not counting you. This isn't meant
- 2:17:50Speaker 6: towards you, but JJ, Frank from Fort Lauderdale, Fifth Avenue,
- 2:17:56Speaker 6: no one said a doggone word for four and a
- 2:17:59Speaker 6: half years, four years as we dug the hole that
- 2:18:03Speaker 6: we're in. No one said a word. Now all of
- 2:18:07Speaker 6: a sudden they care about gas prices. They care about groceries.
- 2:18:10Speaker 6: They care about inflation. They cared about eggs until that
- 2:18:14Speaker 6: went away. So it doesn't matter what Donald Trump does.
- 2:18:17Speaker 9: It doesn't matter.
- 2:18:19Speaker 6: The reflection pond in Washington.
- 2:18:21Speaker 3: They lost their marbles because he fixed it.
- 2:18:25Speaker 14: I mean, it's enough.
- 2:18:26Speaker 9: Enough.
- 2:18:28Speaker 6: Everyone bitches every day. Every day. And we, me and you,
- 2:18:34Speaker 6: we fall into the trap sometimes. You know, what are
- 2:18:37Speaker 6: we looking at right now? We're looking at a little
- 2:18:39Speaker 6: bump in inflation that Trump has got under control. We're
- 2:18:43Speaker 6: looking at a little bump in fuel prices because, as
- 2:18:46Speaker 6: Trump said, this little excursion going on in the Middle East.
- 2:18:50Speaker 6: We've got the Arab world.
- 2:18:52Speaker 24: United behind us. Israel is united with the Arab world
- 2:18:57Speaker 24: outside of Iran. These proxy terrorist groups are being eliminated,
- 2:19:02Speaker 24: with the exception of Hezbollah. They've still got some weapons
- 2:19:05Speaker 24: they haven't. completely emptied their cash out. I mean, if
- 2:19:08Speaker 24: you don't think Iran is the biggest threat to the
- 2:19:11Speaker 24: world and needs to be dealt with, I can't help you.
- 2:19:14Speaker 24: The largest state sponsor of terrorists. They've killed more American
- 2:19:19Speaker 24: soldiers than any other responsible body we can find. If
- 2:19:24Speaker 24: they took action, they had to have strong intelligence.
- 2:19:27Speaker 3: To do so.
- 2:19:28Speaker 14: I do not believe.
- 2:19:29Speaker 29: I think Donald Trump's crazy. I think he's a lot
- 2:19:31Speaker 29: of things, but I don't think he's dumb. And I'll
- 2:19:35Speaker 29: guarantee you, you know and I know how he feels
- 2:19:38Speaker 29: about war. He is not going to start a war
- 2:19:42Speaker 29: without strong reason or belief. These people that think he
- 2:19:45Speaker 29: did it just because Netanyahu told him to do it
- 2:19:48Speaker 29: are nuts. And if anyone falls in that category, I'm
- 2:19:52Speaker 29: talking about you. This guy, people don't give him the
- 2:19:56Speaker 29: credit he deserves.
- 2:19:58Speaker 6: Now he's got to fight his own party.
- 2:19:59Speaker 29: Do you think he wants these headaches?
- 2:20:01Speaker 14: Do you think he wants to be at war?
- 2:20:03Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 2:20:05Speaker 29: I think he'd rather be on a golf course at Mar-a-Lago,
- 2:20:08Speaker 29: entertaining people, having a good time.
- 2:20:10Speaker 1: Stand by, Ted. Stand by. Stand by.
- 2:20:14Speaker 10: Yonge Towns News, Weather, and Talk Station, 570 WKBN. All right,
- 2:20:20Speaker 10: back to it. Where did Ted go?
- 2:20:22Speaker 1: Let's see, I think.
- 2:20:23Speaker 24: Ted?
- 2:20:25Speaker 3: Hello?
- 2:20:26Speaker 1: I think I lost Ted. Okay, go ahead.
- 2:20:29Speaker 3: Oh, you hear me?
- 2:20:29Speaker 1: Yes, sir, I do.
- 2:20:31Speaker 27: Okay, I just wondered, what would be so bad about
- 2:20:34Speaker 27: inviting Mr. Trump to call on your station and letting
- 2:20:38Speaker 27: your listeners have a go with him?
- 2:20:41Speaker 1: I think he's got a lot on his plate right now,
- 2:20:44Speaker 1: and he's probably not going to spend a lot of
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: time calling in.
- 2:20:47Speaker 27: You don't think so?
- 2:20:48Speaker 9: No, I don't think so. I don't know, man.
- 2:20:50Speaker 27: He was the kind of gutsy guy that he was
- 2:20:53Speaker 27: to get elected, man. I thought he was more of
- 2:20:56Speaker 27: a man of the people and would rise to the challenge. Anyways,
- 2:20:59Speaker 27: that's just my idea. Crazy idea, maybe.
- 2:21:03Speaker 1: All right. We'll always keep a line open for him,
- 2:21:06Speaker 1: all right?
- 2:21:07Speaker 3: Okay. Thank you.
- 2:21:08Speaker 1: Thank you. You're on air.
- 2:21:11Speaker 9: Afternoon, Ron.
- 2:21:13Speaker 3: Couple points uh..
- 2:21:15Speaker 15: Little research uh... are part of the the war that
- 2:21:20Speaker 15: twenty million barrels of uh... oil that was coming out
- 2:21:23Speaker 15: of the gulf only two point five uh... million barrels
- 2:21:27Speaker 15: was from iran because our oil was sanctioned back in
- 2:21:31Speaker 15: these months that once the strain is open that could
- 2:21:33Speaker 15: be easily you know replace within and you know increase uh...
- 2:21:37Speaker 15: production i think uh..
- 2:21:39Speaker 9: Really uh..
- 2:21:41Speaker 3: What it's going to come down.
- 2:21:42Speaker 15: To, if they're not going to negotiate in good faith.
- 2:21:46Speaker 3: Here, we're just going to have to bankrupt that country,
- 2:21:49Speaker 3: take away their oil industry.
- 2:21:51Speaker 15: You know, if you eliminate their electricity, drop the bridges,
- 2:21:56Speaker 15: and take out the oil industry completely, that Coral Island,
- 2:21:59Speaker 15: the whole, you know, getting caboodled there, where they no
- 2:22:04Speaker 15: longer have any money coming in, hey, they can't rebuild
- 2:22:08Speaker 15: their military. They can't even pay their own military. They
- 2:22:12Speaker 15: certainly won't be able to export terrorism, and they won't
- 2:22:15Speaker 15: be able to make nuclear weapons with no money. I
- 2:22:19Speaker 15: think that may be the ticket there. And where you
- 2:22:25Speaker 15: guys are talking about parallels to the Vietnam War, I
- 2:22:28Speaker 15: think the only parallels here are the negotiations and the reaction.
- 2:22:34Speaker 15: If you go back to the Paris peace talks with Kissinger,
- 2:22:39Speaker 15: at that point, the North Vietnamese literally wanted us to
- 2:22:43Speaker 15: unseat the South Vietnamese government.
- 2:22:47Speaker 3: You know, they refused to return our prisoners.
- 2:22:50Speaker 15: And finally, Nixon had enough where he mined the High
- 2:22:54Speaker 15: Front Harbor, and then he ordered the Christmas bombings. And
- 2:22:58Speaker 15: we bombed them like we were bombing Germany. They were
- 2:23:02Speaker 15: right back at the negotiating table, and we were able
- 2:23:04Speaker 15: to come up with a solution there. I think what
- 2:23:08Speaker 15: it's going to come down to with Trump here— Again,
- 2:23:12Speaker 15: he doesn't like to see this destruction of stuff, but
- 2:23:17Speaker 15: if you can't make sense with these nut balls, again,
- 2:23:21Speaker 15: they think their religion is we've got to have the
- 2:23:24Speaker 15: whole world awash with blood, primarily our blood. Then their
- 2:23:30Speaker 15: imam's going to climb out of the well that's been
- 2:23:32Speaker 15: hiding down there since the 14th century.
- 2:23:35Speaker 9: That's what these fools believe.
- 2:23:37Speaker 1: Um, yeah, we got to take away their money.
- 2:23:40Speaker 9: We just got to, you know, that way they can't
- 2:23:42Speaker 9: harm anybody.
- 2:23:44Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 2:23:46Speaker 1: So what do you think he should do next then?
- 2:23:49Speaker 1: I mean, so when you assess Trump, literally eliminate the
- 2:23:52Speaker 1: oil industry.
- 2:23:58Speaker 15: Eliminate their electricity. Can't build drones or, you know, missiles
- 2:24:03Speaker 15: if you don't have any electricity. Kind of tough to
- 2:24:05Speaker 15: do that. In fact, they won't even be able to live.
- 2:24:08Speaker 3: In their caves anymore. These rats are going to have
- 2:24:11Speaker 3: to come up to the surface.
- 2:24:12Speaker 15: You know, you can only run the generators for so long,
- 2:24:15Speaker 15: and then they're If you eliminate all their money, then
- 2:24:20Speaker 15: they won't even be able to put fuel in the
- 2:24:22Speaker 15: motorboats to threaten the ships in the Gulf. In the
- 2:24:26Speaker 15: short term here, let's make some squads of Marines available
- 2:24:32Speaker 15: to go on the ships, because let's reduce them to
- 2:24:36Speaker 15: where they're just out there using rowboats.
- 2:24:39Speaker 3: Not the motorized.
- 2:24:40Speaker 15: Again, eliminate their electricity, drop their bridges. Take out the
- 2:24:45Speaker 15: oil industry completely. Again, it only counts for 2.5 million
- 2:24:50Speaker 15: barrels of the 20 million that was coming out of
- 2:24:53Speaker 15: the Gulf before.
- 2:24:55Speaker 3: That's it. You're poor.
- 2:24:57Speaker 15: In fact, they'll be hat in hand to the Houthis
- 2:25:02Speaker 15: and Hezbollah.
- 2:25:04Speaker 3: Hey, we need some money here.
- 2:25:06Speaker 15: You can't have a.
- 2:25:10Speaker 3: Totalitarian regime with no money there. It just doesn't work.
- 2:25:14Speaker 3: Microwave them.
- 2:25:16Speaker 8: All right.
- 2:25:17Speaker 1: That's my solution. Thank you. NewsRadio 570. Dodie Cummings and
- 2:25:20Speaker 1: Ron Furman. We're with you tonight until 7 o'clock. So
- 2:25:24Speaker 1: stay tuned. You're on the air.
- 2:25:27Speaker 3: Hello. Go ahead. I was calling in regards to President Trump.
- 2:25:33Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 2:25:34Speaker 11: I've voted for him three times.
- 2:25:39Speaker 1: Stand by for one second. Let me do my headlines.
- 2:25:40Speaker 1: I'll come right back to you. Just hang in there
- 2:25:42Speaker 1: for a minute. Come right back with him right after this.
- 2:25:46Speaker 1: All right. A lot of debate, a lot of interesting opinions,
- 2:25:54Speaker 1: just like there is in the country over this situation.
- 2:25:58Speaker 1: I appreciate your patience. Go ahead with your comments, please.
- 2:26:01Speaker 3: Yes. Like I said, sometimes President Trump disappoints me. Biden
- 2:26:07Speaker 3: disappointed me from day one. And as far as I
- 2:26:11Speaker 3: really know how much money we've already paid Iran, but
- 2:26:16Speaker 3: can we trust them? If we give them another $ 500 billion,
- 2:26:20Speaker 3: can we trust them? Five or six presidents didn't do anything.
- 2:26:25Speaker 3: If it was done initially, we wouldn't have this problem today.
- 2:26:28Speaker 3: This problem needs to be solved today. 50-some years ago.
- 2:26:32Speaker 3: And I believe if we don't do it, you know,
- 2:26:35Speaker 3: we can't trust them one bit.
- 2:26:38Speaker 1: So where do you think it should go from here?
- 2:26:41Speaker 1: Because it seems to be just stagnating.
- 2:26:44Speaker 3: Well, one thing about Trump, I don't know how many
- 2:26:46Speaker 3: times he's said they're willing to negotiate. We can't believe
- 2:26:49Speaker 3: him all the time for sure. But whatever it takes
- 2:26:53Speaker 3: to win this war, we need to do. We can't
- 2:26:58Speaker 3: go on with this half-buff. Let's negotiate because you know
- 2:27:02Speaker 3: they're not going to really negotiate. They're just dragging their
- 2:27:05Speaker 3: feet and making more drones. It needs to be done.
- 2:27:09Speaker 3: It needs to be done right away and get it
- 2:27:10Speaker 3: over with. I believe gas prices will go down, not immediately,
- 2:27:16Speaker 3: but they'll go back down to what they were.
- 2:27:18Speaker 1: And do you agree with some of the callers who
- 2:27:21Speaker 1: called today who thought the United States, if they should
- 2:27:25Speaker 1: nuke them?
- 2:27:26Speaker 3: No, no. I don't think we need to kill all
- 2:27:29Speaker 3: the people. We just need to get rid of the leaders.
- 2:27:33Speaker 3: The smartest guy in the world said that the only
- 2:27:36Speaker 3: way to win a war is prevented, and that was Einstein.
- 2:27:39Speaker 3: And he knew the power of the nuclear bomb. No,
- 2:27:41Speaker 3: we don't need to do that. We don't need to
- 2:27:44Speaker 3: do new lives either. We can do this without many
- 2:27:47Speaker 3: loss of lives.
- 2:27:49Speaker 1: What would your suggestion be on that? I mean, since
- 2:27:52Speaker 1: we've done some pretty... Well, the bunker busters seem to
- 2:27:56Speaker 1: be very effective, but... And we had the bombing campaign.
- 2:28:00Speaker 1: So what's the next step, or what do you think
- 2:28:02Speaker 1: it should be?
- 2:28:04Speaker 3: I really don't know. I hate to see all the
- 2:28:06Speaker 3: civilians pay for this. But people can't protest. You know
- 2:28:12Speaker 3: what's happened? They're dead in a second as soon as
- 2:28:14Speaker 3: I protest. So, you know, you can't blame them for
- 2:28:17Speaker 3: being timid. You know, they just don't have a chance.
- 2:28:23Speaker 3: You protest, you're dead. I don't know the answer. Does anybody?
- 2:28:30Speaker 1: Well, we were turning to you. Listen, a lot of
- 2:28:34Speaker 1: people have called with different perspectives and different thoughts about it.
- 2:28:39Speaker 3: If anybody knew the answer, we wouldn't have this war.
- 2:28:45Speaker 3: There's really no answer.
- 2:28:48Speaker 1: I would say to you, you would like to think
- 2:28:50Speaker 1: that you're... You would like to think that the people
- 2:28:56Speaker 1: that are in charge, Rubio, Trump, and those folks know
- 2:29:00Speaker 1: a lot more than, obviously, well, they obviously know a
- 2:29:03Speaker 1: lot more than any of us know of what's going
- 2:29:06Speaker 1: on and what the reality is.
- 2:29:08Speaker 3: These people, we hope they know more than us. We
- 2:29:13Speaker 3: trust them for that. Sometimes that's a mistake, but obviously
- 2:29:18Speaker 3: they know more than us. They wouldn't have started this
- 2:29:21Speaker 3: If they didn't think that it needed done. It needed
- 2:29:23Speaker 3: done 50 years ago, for God's sakes. You know, not now.
- 2:29:26Speaker 3: It needed done 50 years ago. We should never, ever
- 2:29:29Speaker 3: gave them billions of dollars. And we gave them billions
- 2:29:33Speaker 3: of dollars, and what did we get? Same old thing
- 2:29:35Speaker 3: over again. It's got to be resolved, and I don't
- 2:29:38Speaker 3: know the answer, but whatever it takes to bring them down,
- 2:29:40Speaker 3: we have to do it.
- 2:29:42Speaker 1: Okay. I appreciate it.
- 2:29:43Speaker 3: 329-9977.
- 2:29:43Speaker 1: There you go. Punching the wrong buttons here. With you
- 2:29:50Speaker 1: till 7 tonight, 330-729-9977. There's different takes, just as there
- 2:29:59Speaker 1: are different takes in the entire country. I mean, from
- 2:30:04Speaker 1: when people say, well, this guy says this, this guy
- 2:30:08Speaker 1: says that. As I said earlier, you take a look
- 2:30:11Speaker 1: at this situation and you have people that know a
- 2:30:14Speaker 1: lot more than any of us that are generals that
- 2:30:17Speaker 1: don't agree with each other as far as what the
- 2:30:21Speaker 1: best options are or what we should be doing. These
- 2:30:24Speaker 1: people are generals that understand military strategy and logistics and
- 2:30:30Speaker 1: they don't agree as far as how it's going or
- 2:30:35Speaker 1: what should happen or how it can go. So, I mean,
- 2:30:40Speaker 1: and these are people that are, you know, it's just
- 2:30:42Speaker 1: interesting to me. Like I said, I try to do
- 2:30:44Speaker 1: the best I can do, as I'm sure many of
- 2:30:46Speaker 1: you do, by reading whatever experts you can read that
- 2:30:49Speaker 1: have know-how in the field. Different commentaries that you hear
- 2:30:54Speaker 1: from different generals, pro and con, to see what their
- 2:30:59Speaker 1: thought process is. And then the financial ramifications, like I say,
- 2:31:04Speaker 1: understanding what can happen economically to our own country. And
- 2:31:10Speaker 1: to a certain extent, there are those people that say
- 2:31:11Speaker 1: that in Iran, they're sitting around saying, okay, it's a
- 2:31:17Speaker 1: waiting game. And they might be sitting there in Iran saying,
- 2:31:23Speaker 1: we'll wait this out because we know the midterms are
- 2:31:27Speaker 1: coming and we know that's going to be a big effect.
- 2:31:30Speaker 1: I mean, could that be their strategy? Could it be
- 2:31:34Speaker 1: the strategy of Iran saying, we'll wait this out because
- 2:31:37Speaker 1: when the midterms come... Everything's going to change because the
- 2:31:41Speaker 1: Democrats will be successful and they'll win because people will
- 2:31:44Speaker 1: be irate with inflation, high oil prices, and they'll win.
- 2:31:48Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden we won't have to
- 2:31:50Speaker 1: worry about this anymore. Maybe that's their strategy. I mean,
- 2:31:57Speaker 1: maybe Iran's strategy is we'll wait it out. We'll put
- 2:32:01Speaker 1: a hurt on the American economy as far as gas
- 2:32:03Speaker 1: prices are concerned. Inflation is concerned that maybe that is
- 2:32:07Speaker 1: their strategy. We'll just wait it out, and then we'll
- 2:32:11Speaker 1: see what happens as a result of the midterms where
- 2:32:14Speaker 1: the president is losing support in his own country, and
- 2:32:18Speaker 1: the Democrats might be successful. That might be their strategy,
- 2:32:23Speaker 1: thinking that's– now, on the other hand, some people might say, well,
- 2:32:28Speaker 1: the Trump strategy might change as well. The Trump strategy
- 2:32:31Speaker 1: might say, okay, we have to try to resolve this. Well,
- 2:32:35Speaker 1: he got in that argument the other day with Netanyahu.
- 2:32:39Speaker 1: or so they say, where he was upset because they're
- 2:32:41Speaker 1: trying to negotiate something and it seemed like Netanyahu was
- 2:32:44Speaker 1: kind of sabotaging it. So he's maybe back there saying, okay, hmm,
- 2:32:52Speaker 1: how can I get out of this situation and declare
- 2:32:56Speaker 1: a victory? I mean, so maybe that's what he's contemplating too,
- 2:33:05Speaker 1: because he's concerned about what could happen with his legacy
- 2:33:10Speaker 1: and his situation at the midterms as well, because he'll
- 2:33:14Speaker 1: be neutered if the Democrats take control of the House
- 2:33:17Speaker 1: and the Senate. He's neutered at that point for the
- 2:33:20Speaker 1: next couple of years. So there's a lot on the
- 2:33:23Speaker 1: line for everybody involved. There's a lot on the line
- 2:33:25Speaker 1: for all of us when it comes to inflation and
- 2:33:28Speaker 1: gasoline prices and everyday living. There's a lot on the
- 2:33:33Speaker 1: line for all of us. There's a lot on the
- 2:33:35Speaker 1: line for Trump when it comes to, it's the economy,
- 2:33:39Speaker 1: stupid as Carville said, can the Democrats take control of
- 2:33:44Speaker 1: the House or the Senate or both? And then Trump's
- 2:33:48Speaker 1: going to have serious problems in getting anything accomplished for
- 2:33:52Speaker 1: the next couple of years. And then the agenda that
- 2:33:56Speaker 1: he was elected on, dealing with inflation and so All
- 2:34:00Speaker 1: of this kind of stuff comes to a screeching halt
- 2:34:03Speaker 1: because he's been checkmated by the Democrats. I mean, if
- 2:34:08Speaker 1: you think this thing through, there's a lot of options
- 2:34:12Speaker 1: that are going on and a lot of things that
- 2:34:14Speaker 1: could happen as a result of the situation. And you
- 2:34:18Speaker 1: really can't predict, incidentally, any outcome when it comes to
- 2:34:21Speaker 1: anything militarily. I mean, you don't know if these things
- 2:34:26Speaker 1: can escalate. that some of these other countries get more
- 2:34:31Speaker 1: involved in it, whether that's China or Russia or some
- 2:34:38Speaker 1: of the folks in the Middle East that get upset.
- 2:34:43Speaker 1: They're not necessarily the United America's biggest fans in the
- 2:34:47Speaker 1: Middle East. I mean, there's just so many moving parts
- 2:34:51Speaker 1: about all of this kind of stuff. It's just, it's
- 2:34:54Speaker 1: a fascinating process. And I got to tell you something.
- 2:34:57Speaker 1: I mean, I can give you my thoughts, my opinion.
- 2:35:03Speaker 1: But I find a lot of people's opinions, whether I
- 2:35:05Speaker 1: agree with them or disagree with them, interesting the takes
- 2:35:09Speaker 1: that they have as well. We're all kind of armchair
- 2:35:13Speaker 1: quarterbacks on all of this kind of stuff. But I
- 2:35:15Speaker 1: always go back to say you hope that, well, you
- 2:35:17Speaker 1: don't hope. You know the people that are in charge
- 2:35:20Speaker 1: know a lot more than we know. And probably know
- 2:35:24Speaker 1: a lot more than a lot of these retired generals
- 2:35:27Speaker 1: know that are doing some of the speculating and commentary.
- 2:35:31Speaker 1: But I'm sure those generals have their connections, as probably
- 2:35:34Speaker 1: know more than most of us. But you have to
- 2:35:41Speaker 1: look at Iran and think it is economically devastated. I mean,
- 2:35:45Speaker 1: the idea that Iran is winning, whenever I hear that,
- 2:35:48Speaker 1: I just kind of say, well, where does that come from?
- 2:35:52Speaker 1: Because if you take a look, I mean, their economy
- 2:35:56Speaker 1: is devastated right now. What happens is more people, you
- 2:36:01Speaker 1: have a huge inflation problem in Iran. You have people
- 2:36:03Speaker 1: that aren't getting paid, whether that's their military people. At
- 2:36:06Speaker 1: what point does the chaos erupt in that country because
- 2:36:11Speaker 1: of the inflation and the lack of money coming in
- 2:36:19Speaker 1: to where... They look around and say, okay, what do
- 2:36:24Speaker 1: we do now? The problem, it's a shining example, incidentally,
- 2:36:28Speaker 1: when you say about the people that go out and
- 2:36:31Speaker 1: protest or want to take their, want to be more
- 2:36:33Speaker 1: active in that. That's an easy thing to say when
- 2:36:37Speaker 1: the government has all the guns. When you always hear
- 2:36:40Speaker 1: these people talk about our Second Amendment or making, giving
- 2:36:44Speaker 1: up some of your Second Amendments. the people are a
- 2:36:46Speaker 1: little bit, it's difficult for them to uprise in Iran
- 2:36:50Speaker 1: when they don't have any weapons and they start doing
- 2:36:52Speaker 1: an uprise. And so the next thing you know, they
- 2:36:55Speaker 1: shoot six or seven of them right in between the eyes.
- 2:36:59Speaker 1: And the next thing you know, the people that are
- 2:37:01Speaker 1: causing the uprise all scatter and you don't see anything
- 2:37:05Speaker 1: more happening because they don't have anything to fight back.
- 2:37:08Speaker 1: There's another thing I was reading where They were making
- 2:37:11Speaker 1: suggestions that the CIA or some covert operation should also
- 2:37:16Speaker 1: try to be secretly shipping arms to a lot of
- 2:37:21Speaker 1: the people. But I don't know how you would determine
- 2:37:24Speaker 1: who you would give them to and who the people
- 2:37:26Speaker 1: that won't respond. change would be. And then would they
- 2:37:32Speaker 1: have the training and the courage to go against the
- 2:37:36Speaker 1: military in that country that would certainly have their share
- 2:37:41Speaker 1: of weapons and training? I mean, there's so many pieces
- 2:37:44Speaker 1: to this mess. Some of these experts always... There's a
- 2:37:48Speaker 1: lot of pieces to it, let's just put it that way.
- 2:37:50Speaker 1: From NewsRadio 570, WKBN, and Ron Verb, hello there.
- 2:37:53Speaker 11: Hey, Ron, you.
- 2:37:55Speaker 28: Brought up a very important point I thought just now
- 2:37:58Speaker 28: about that it's awfully difficult for them to go up
- 2:38:02Speaker 28: against the government without any guns. And it really speaks
- 2:38:06Speaker 28: of American exceptionalism. A lesson we never learned, it seems like,
- 2:38:12Speaker 28: as a country, that during the Revolutionary War... We had
- 2:38:15Speaker 28: farmers that went up against the superpower of the day.
- 2:38:20Speaker 28: And they had guns, but they weren't much. And all
- 2:38:24Speaker 28: odds were against them, but they spilled their blood because
- 2:38:27Speaker 28: freedom was valuable enough for them to go spill their
- 2:38:31Speaker 28: blood and give their lives. And it seems like in
- 2:38:33Speaker 28: the course of world history, every time we went into
- 2:38:36Speaker 28: a Korea or a Vietnam or Afghanistan or Iraq, you
- 2:38:40Speaker 28: name it, we were trying to... do that job on
- 2:38:44Speaker 28: their behalf. But the problem was we were using our
- 2:38:47Speaker 28: young soldiers, our young Marines, and Delta and Army and
- 2:38:52Speaker 28: infantry and everybody else. And if you do that, then
- 2:38:56Speaker 28: the blood is cheap, isn't it? They don't care if
- 2:38:58Speaker 28: American blood is being spilled kicking in doors and getting killed.
- 2:39:02Speaker 28: That's cheap freedom, and that's why it never sticks. And
- 2:39:05Speaker 28: I think that's the problem that Trump is facing. And
- 2:39:08Speaker 28: I think it's a lesson we just can't seem to
- 2:39:11Speaker 28: learn as a country is, You can't go over and
- 2:39:13Speaker 28: do it for them, as much as we would like to,
- 2:39:16Speaker 28: until they want to stand up. And I'll say this.
- 2:39:19Speaker 28: The people in the inner cities, same thing. Until they
- 2:39:23Speaker 28: stand up and say enough is enough with the crime
- 2:39:25Speaker 28: and the corruption and everything else going on, they have
- 2:39:28Speaker 28: put themselves back in bondage, and they all just kind
- 2:39:31Speaker 28: of live in the problems of the city. But back
- 2:39:34Speaker 28: to Iran specifically, I think Trump was really hoping that
- 2:39:39Speaker 28: those men of fighting age would stand up Are several
- 2:39:43Speaker 28: thousand going to get killed?
- 2:39:45Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 2:39:45Speaker 28: Are you going to free millions and future generations?
- 2:39:49Speaker 8: Yes.
- 2:39:49Speaker 28: Is it worth it to them? Evidently not.
- 2:39:51Speaker 1: Well, they don't have the weapons. I've got to pause.
- 2:39:53Speaker 1: I appreciate your call, though. Some good insight. I should have,
- 2:39:57Speaker 1: on the end of my line, Orange Cassidy. Orange, are
- 2:40:01Speaker 1: you there?
- 2:40:03Speaker 4: Yes, I am here.
- 2:40:04Speaker 1: All right, folks. Tomorrow at the Covelli Center, the AEW
- 2:40:08Speaker 1: is in town. The event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets
- 2:40:11Speaker 1: available through Ticketmaster or at the box office. And this
- 2:40:15Speaker 1: is AEW star Orange Cassidy, a two-time international champion. Now,
- 2:40:19Speaker 1: for our listeners who've never been to one of these events,
- 2:40:22Speaker 1: and I'll get into that, explain to them what the
- 2:40:24Speaker 1: AEW is.
- 2:40:27Speaker 4: Well, it's professional wrestling from all around the world. And
- 2:40:32Speaker 4: you'll see live action fights and maybe some blood. Maybe
- 2:40:41Speaker 4: you'll laugh. You might get sad. You might cry. But
- 2:40:44Speaker 4: you can boo and you can cheer. And, I mean,
- 2:40:47Speaker 4: I've never had anybody say they had a bad time.
- 2:40:49Speaker 4: So it's everything you want in entertainment.
- 2:40:53Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:40:54Speaker 1: But when you hear that kind of stuff, and you
- 2:40:56Speaker 1: mentioned the term entertainment, but I mean, everybody's in real
- 2:41:00Speaker 1: shape and it's real wrestling. It's not just entertainment. I mean,
- 2:41:04Speaker 1: it is the sporting aspect of it too, right? The training,
- 2:41:07Speaker 1: staying in shape.
- 2:41:11Speaker 25: Absolutely.
- 2:41:11Speaker 4: When I say entertainment, I'm referring to people going and
- 2:41:17Speaker 4: paying money to see something. We have some of the
- 2:41:21Speaker 4: most amazing athletes. I think, in the world. The stuff
- 2:41:30Speaker 4: that you see in person live is incredible.
- 2:41:35Speaker 15: Right.
- 2:41:36Speaker 1: No one knows the outcomes. It's not staged or anything
- 2:41:39Speaker 1: in that sense. I mean, when you're going against your opponent,
- 2:41:41Speaker 1: both of you are there to win, correct?
- 2:41:44Speaker 4: I mean, I better win because if I don't win,
- 2:41:47Speaker 4: I don't get paid more money. So I try to
- 2:41:50Speaker 4: win every time.
- 2:41:53Speaker 1: Well, and how disappointing is it if you fall short
- 2:41:57Speaker 1: of that? I mean, do you go back and..
- 2:41:59Speaker 4: Do I fall short?
- 2:42:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:42:01Speaker 4: I don't get, you know, the money that I would
- 2:42:04Speaker 4: have had if I went, and then I have to
- 2:42:05Speaker 4: start from the bottom and I have to work my
- 2:42:07Speaker 4: way back up. It's just, you know, losing is not
- 2:42:12Speaker 4: great in AEW.
- 2:42:14Speaker 1: And do you go right back to the gym, right
- 2:42:15Speaker 1: back to training, or trying to figure out how to
- 2:42:18Speaker 1: step your game up from where you were prior to that?
- 2:42:23Speaker 4: Uh, I'm too lazy for that, but somebody would do that. Uh,
- 2:42:27Speaker 4: me personally, I, uh, uh, you know, I don't think
- 2:42:32Speaker 4: that far ahead. So I just try.
- 2:42:34Speaker 3: To win it.
- 2:42:35Speaker 1: I'm intrigued. How did you get into this? I mean,
- 2:42:38Speaker 1: I assume you were just a normal guy doing normal things.
- 2:42:42Speaker 1: How did you get involved in all this?
- 2:42:45Speaker 4: Well, I could say that I was, uh, never normal
- 2:42:49Speaker 4: if I was going to get into this. I think
- 2:42:51Speaker 4: I was abnormal and then decided to do professional wrestling.
- 2:42:57Speaker 4: Watching it growing up, I got a taste of all
- 2:43:02Speaker 4: of the different types of professional wrestling from the Lucha
- 2:43:05Speaker 4: Libre in Mexico into the British.
- 2:43:09Speaker 1: Hang on a second. Hang on, Orange.
- 2:43:11Speaker 3: Hang on.
- 2:43:12Speaker 1: I've got to do a commercial break. I'm going to
- 2:43:13Speaker 1: come back, and I want to hear the answer to that.
- 2:43:16Speaker 1: And more until 7 tonight. Ron Verb, stay tuned. 70 WKBA.
- 2:43:20Speaker 1: Talking with Orange Cassidy on the end of our line.
- 2:43:23Speaker 1: He is going to be tomorrow at the Covelli Center,
- 2:43:27Speaker 1: June 6th, with the AEW collision. That's going to be
- 2:43:32Speaker 1: going on tomorrow. But I'm always intrigued, man. So, I mean,
- 2:43:36Speaker 1: at what age did you actually say, I'm going down
- 2:43:39Speaker 1: this road, I'm going to train, and I'm going to
- 2:43:41Speaker 1: get involved in this?
- 2:43:44Speaker 4: Well, I was always into sports, and I was amateur wrestling,
- 2:43:47Speaker 4: playing baseball, soccer, track, all that stuff. And right when
- 2:43:52Speaker 4: I was about to get into high school, I broke
- 2:43:55Speaker 4: my arm in half, and the doctors, the orthopedic surgeon
- 2:44:00Speaker 4: said he was going to have to amputate my arm.
- 2:44:01Speaker 4: Thank God they didn't. But because I was sidelined from
- 2:44:05Speaker 4: doing all the sports, I got really into wrestling, and
- 2:44:08Speaker 4: then I decided to build a ring in my backyard
- 2:44:11Speaker 4: when I was around 15, 16. And I got trained,
- 2:44:15Speaker 4: and here I am.
- 2:44:18Speaker 1: And you say when you broke your arm, it's still
- 2:44:21Speaker 1: a pretty aggressive sport where you can get a lot
- 2:44:23Speaker 1: of injuries. I mean, so have you had a lot of..
- 2:44:28Speaker 4: Yes, so I had that before wrestling, but after, while
- 2:44:32Speaker 4: I was wrestling, because I've been doing this for 20-something years,
- 2:44:37Speaker 4: I broke my orbital bone in my face, my sinus,
- 2:44:39Speaker 4: I broke my right leg, I dislocated my shoulder, I
- 2:44:43Speaker 4: had a type 3 AC separation on my other shoulder,
- 2:44:48Speaker 4: and I tore my pectoral muscle just last year.
- 2:44:52Speaker 1: So do you ever say as you get older and
- 2:44:54Speaker 1: age and this stuff heals enough already, geez, I'm getting
- 2:44:57Speaker 1: too old for this.
- 2:45:01Speaker 4: Uh, you know, that thing we were talking about earlier
- 2:45:04Speaker 4: about being normal. I don't think I'm normal. And, uh,
- 2:45:07Speaker 4: I think I just, I don't think about it.
- 2:45:09Speaker 3: Oh man.
- 2:45:11Speaker 1: So, so you don't, uh, so you'll do it as
- 2:45:14Speaker 1: long as your body allows you to do it. How
- 2:45:16Speaker 1: old are you now?
- 2:45:17Speaker 3: Orange?
- 2:45:19Speaker 4: Uh, I mean, allegedly I'm late 30s, but I plan
- 2:45:28Speaker 4: on going until I cannot any longer.
- 2:45:30Speaker 16: All right, man.
- 2:45:33Speaker 14: Until the wheels fall off.
- 2:45:36Speaker 3: There you go.
- 2:45:36Speaker 1: Yeah, let's hope that's no time soon. You can see
- 2:45:39Speaker 1: you tomorrow. What time do doors open down there, do
- 2:45:42Speaker 1: you know?
- 2:45:44Speaker 4: Uh, doors are usually around six 37, something like that.
- 2:45:48Speaker 4: But the, the, the, the first match before the, so
- 2:45:51Speaker 4: we go live at eight, but the first, they, we
- 2:45:55Speaker 4: have a couple of matches to get you all primed
- 2:45:57Speaker 4: up and ready to go and get ready for what
- 2:46:00Speaker 4: you see. That's around seven 30. They start those matches.
- 2:46:03Speaker 1: Hey, the, and, uh, and, uh, orange Cassidy will be
- 2:46:06Speaker 1: there with all of, all of his systems healed up
- 2:46:10Speaker 1: and looking for another, another great night. I enjoyed my
- 2:46:15Speaker 1: conversation with you. I certainly hope that we get a
- 2:46:17Speaker 1: chance to talk again just to understand what makes guys
- 2:46:21Speaker 1: like you tick, man. I appreciate it. I wish you
- 2:46:24Speaker 1: the best of luck tomorrow, and I hope for a victory, man.
- 2:46:28Speaker 1: Give them hell, Orange. Give them hell.
- 2:46:30Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 2:46:31Speaker 1: All right, Orange Cassidy, be wrestling tomorrow. Have a good night, everybody.
- 2:46:34Speaker 1: Have a wonderful weekend.
- 2:46:43Speaker 31: From ABC News, I'm Dave Packer. The latest government employment
- 2:46:47Speaker 31: report showing employers added 172,000 jobs last month. President Trump
- 2:46:51Speaker 31: this afternoon on Air Force One saying that's better than expected.
- 2:46:54Speaker 18: So we had incredible job numbers today.
- 2:46:56Speaker 1: You saw that?
- 2:46:59Speaker 18: And we have good everything, good numbers, but the job
- 2:47:03Speaker 18: numbers just came out and they were fantastic.
- 2:47:05Speaker 31: But as Trump celebrated those jobs numbers, the stock market
- 2:47:08Speaker 31: suffering its worst day of the year, the Dow dropping
- 2:47:11Speaker 31: 695 points today, the Nasdaq suffering the biggest blow, 1,121 points.
- 2:47:16Speaker 31: President Trump says that the soon-to-be acting director of national intelligence...
- 2:47:20Speaker 31: Bill Pulte, should cut positions at the office of the
- 2:47:23Speaker 31: Department of National Intelligence. He even compared it with the
- 2:47:26Speaker 31: education department, which is being dismantled.
- 2:47:28Speaker 20: The president brought that up and compared it to that.
- 2:47:31Speaker 20: saying this maybe should even be terminated. He wasn't specific
- 2:47:35Speaker 20: about what his plans would be, but certainly indicating he
- 2:47:38Speaker 20: wants to see Polte go in there and shake things
- 2:47:40Speaker 20: up and limit the size of this sprawling office right
- 2:47:44Speaker 20: now that, of course, oversees spy agencies.
- 2:47:47Speaker 16: ABC's Karen Travers at the White House.
- 2:47:49Speaker 31: The Senate today approving that $ 70 billion immigration enforcement package.
- 2:47:54Speaker 31: The bill passed without an amendment to address the president's
- 2:47:57Speaker 31: anti-weaponization fund. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
- 2:48:02Speaker 4: Republicans are trusting the word of Todd Blanche, who built
- 2:48:05Speaker 4: a career on lying, that the administration will just drop
- 2:48:09Speaker 4: this slush fund.
- 2:48:11Speaker 31: Senator Lisa Murkowski was the lone Republican to join all
- 2:48:14Speaker 31: Democrats in voting the bill down.
- 2:48:15Speaker 16: Now it's headed over to the House.
- 2:48:17Speaker 31: Five astronauts returning to the International Space Station after being
- 2:48:21Speaker 31: ordered by NASA to stay in a docked spacecraft. The
- 2:48:24Speaker 31: agency had told them to don their spacesuits and enter
- 2:48:26Speaker 31: the spacecraft out of an abundance of caution after a
- 2:48:29Speaker 31: recurring air leak in the Russian service module. We're told
- 2:48:33Speaker 31: Russian astronauts are looking into the problem before trying to
- 2:48:36Speaker 31: fix the leak. You're listening to ABC News.

- 2:50:11Speaker 31: A Georgia law that impacts local elections in Atlanta is
- 2:50:14Speaker 31: facing a legal challenge.
- 2:50:15Speaker 5: The law makes local races in five metro Atlanta counties nonpartisan.
- 2:50:19Speaker 5: And DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston says that violates
- 2:50:22Speaker 5: the Constitution because it doesn't apply to every Georgia county.
- 2:50:26Speaker 17: If the legislature chooses to make these races nonpartisan, it
