- 0:13Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the Hawkgirl Energy Podcast.
- 0:18I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is your weekly reminder that it's a
- 0:21new day, a new week, a new mindset, and another day for
- 0:24you to become the Hawkgirl Energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:29Happy Tuesday. I decided to do a Q and A for this episode because
- 0:35I feel like we haven't done that yet, and I feel like there's always
- 0:38so many questions about how do I start a healthy lifestyle? What are some
- 0:42tips that you can provide all that? So I thought the best way to
- 0:46talk about the healthy lifestyle journey or anything like that is doing a Q and
- 0:52A and really understanding what you guys want to hear from me, whether it's
- 0:56you know, my personal experiences or just personal ice or anything like that.
- 1:00At the end of the day, like I'm no expert obviously when it comes
- 1:03to like, I'm not a nutritionist, I'm not a wellness coach or anything
- 1:08like that. But these are just things that work for me and what has
- 1:11worked for me in my health and wellness journey. So we did a Q
- 1:17and A on our podcast Instagram. So if you guys don't follow our Hawk
- 1:21Grow Energy podcast on Instagram. Make sure to do so, because I definitely
- 1:25think we'll do another episode like this in the future, just because you guys
- 1:27asked a lot of questions which I love, and I obviously couldn't do them
- 1:33all because this would be a two hour long episode, but I decided to
- 1:37just pick the ones that I thought were most fitting for this episode, and
- 1:42there was some that was also like duplicates. So anyways, I'm very excited
- 1:47to get into this episode. So we're talking about how to live a healthier
- 1:51lifestyle. This is for all the girls that want to be a healthy girl.
- 1:55So we're going to get down to business and answer all the questions that
- 1:59you guys have for me. Okay, so we're going to start pretty generic.
- 2:01I had a lot of questions that just said how to start? So
- 2:05how do you start? How do you get into this health and wellness journey?
- 2:09And so the one thing that I can recommend in terms of where to
- 2:14start is starting small, because I feel like if you add all the components
- 2:20of having a healthy lifestyle, it's going to become overwhelming and you're going to
- 2:23burn out and it's not going to work for you, So it's always best
- 2:27to start small. So look at your schedule throughout the day. What is
- 2:31the best time for you to get in healthy habits. Is it the morning,
- 2:37is it the night, or can you have an earlier morning routine before
- 2:39you start work, or do you find you're the most productive and most motivated
- 2:43that night. Whatever works for you. But find time throughout the evening or
- 2:47morning and figure out the habits that you want to include into your routine.
- 2:52So do your own research. I think at the end of the day,
- 2:54you need to do what works best for you, and research is so so
- 2:59important. So I would research habits that might interest you because the habits that
- 3:05I do it might not be something that you want to include, and that's
- 3:08totally fine. There's so many habits that you can do to improve your overall
- 3:14health. And that's why we have Google, That's why we have the Internet.
- 3:17There's a lot of resources out there that can help you find habits that
- 3:22work for you. But that's what I recommend, is starting small and doing
- 3:25the research on how you want to start and what you want to include.
- 3:30So obviously, for me, things that I love to include in the mornings,
- 3:34I do all my healthy habits usually in the morning is you know,
- 3:37getting greens in, doing early morning workout, whether it's a spin class,
- 3:40if vladis class, whatever. I always love to do some journaling, planning
- 3:45out my day, like those things I make a priority every single morning before
- 3:50going into my day because I know that's what works for me and I'm consistent
- 3:55at it. And one thing that's new to me is meditation, so we're
- 4:00going to get more into that later. But those are kind of habits that
- 4:03work for me when it comes to my morning routine. But one thing that
- 4:09you need to figure out in your health and wellness journey is how am I
- 4:12going to move my body? Because moving your body is so important, it's
- 4:15so so important for your mental health, your physical health, all that.
- 4:17So what kind of workouts do you enjoy? You really need to ask yourself
- 4:21that question. So you're going to write down a list of activities, maybe
- 4:25sports, maybe workouts that you want to try, and that's what you're going
- 4:29to do. That way, you know how to start your health and wellness
- 4:32journey and know that it's going to take time to adapt this change of getting
- 4:39into a health and wellness journey, like going into a new type of lifestyle
- 4:44is not easy and it takes time. So know that if you've only done
- 4:46it for two weeks and you feel like you know it's not working out,
- 4:50just know that just doing it for two weeks is not going to make a
- 4:54huge life impact. You really need to be dedicated to it. You need
- 4:58to again do the research, find things that work for you. And that's
- 5:00what's going to create consistency is doing those small changes, and over time it
- 5:05will be totally worth the change in my opinion. So that's the best advice
- 5:11I can give in a quick little recap on how to start your health and
- 5:15wellness journey. Okay, one question was what's the best healthy habit that you
- 5:20have right now? So this is more of a personal question. So personally,
- 5:25for me, I think the best healthy habit that I've recently added into
- 5:28my routine is meditation. And the reason why I want to highlight this as
- 5:32being the best healthy habit right now is because I'm pushing myself to add a
- 5:38new habit into my routine and I'm doing it for the better of myself.
- 5:42I'm trying to create change for myself because I've noticed a lot of stressed,
- 5:46a lot of anxiety that I'm dealing with currently, and I'm trying to figure
- 5:50out how can I improve this, How can I change this? How can
- 5:55I create a better version of myself? And adding meditation is definitely something that's
- 6:01different from me. I feel like I've always had a hard time relaxing and
- 6:05just you know, not overthinking about things. I feel like it's definitely been
- 6:10difficult these past few days doing meditation. I feel like my brain is always
- 6:15running, like I feel like I'm always thinking of crazy thoughts. I'm you
- 6:18know, thinking about, Okay, what do I have to get done for
- 6:20work? I just can't focus on the relaxation part. And I know it's
- 6:26not going to be easy. It's definitely something that I have to keep at
- 6:29it, and eventually my body will learn how to relax and how to properly
- 6:34meditate. So, as I said, it's definitely something new to me and
- 6:38I'm definitely learning. I'm actually thinking about changing my meditation to at night because
- 6:45I feel like my body's way more relax than verse the morning. I just
- 6:48feel like it's two chaotic irideas so much in my routine in my morning that
- 6:53I feel like it's best to you know, set time aside at night before
- 6:58I head to bed and really create a whole lie out of the situation,
- 7:00so like lighting a candle, having a little setup where I can just sit
- 7:05and just listen to the meditation and just completely zone out and focus on relaxing
- 7:12my body and relieving any stress and anxiety that I might feel. So the
- 7:16app that I'm using that I recently downloaded is the Aloe Moves app, and
- 7:20they have a bunch of beginner meditation sessions that are between like five to like
- 7:26fifteen to twenty minutes, and I've been doing around the ten minute mark just
- 7:30because, as you guys know, it's new to me, so I'm just
- 7:32learning. But that is definitely the best healthy habit that I've included into my
- 7:38routine currently. I just think it's something that's new to me, but I
- 7:43know it's going to be so worth it in the end because I'm bettering myself
- 7:46because I'm allowing my body to relax and just destress. So that is the
- 7:51best healthy habit right now. Okay, the next question is how to build
- 7:56confidence, And just so you know, some of these answers might be repetitive,
- 7:59but I just want to make sure I touch on a lot of the
- 8:01parts for each question. I feel like we kind of talked about this in
- 8:07the last week's episode where we talk about identifying our strengths and talents. There's
- 8:11no better feeling than knowing what you're good at. And if you want to
- 8:16boost your competence, then doing your strengths and spending time to identifying and figuring
- 8:22out what you're good at. It gives a good sense of pride and accomplishments.
- 8:26So that I think is the key thing when it comes to competence is
- 8:31doing things that you're good at is going to make you obviously feel good.
- 8:33Being confident also means taking risks, so recognizing your mistakes. It's all about
- 8:39being optimistic, being able to accept a compliment and bring true to yourself.
- 8:41The next question was advice for bloating, and I'm going to give you things
- 8:48that work for me for my bloating. It may not work for you.
- 8:52And know that this is strictly like, I'm not saying that this is scientifically
- 8:56proven to cure everybody's bloating. Again, this is just something that works for
- 9:00me. But personally, I love adding greens into my morning routine and I
- 9:03drink my greens on an empty stomach. So this is what I do every
- 9:07single morning. It's been a habit for I don't even know how many years,
- 9:11I want to say, like four years, three years. Every single
- 9:16morning. I even bring my green powder at travel packs everywhere I go as
- 9:20well when I'm traveling, because it definitely makes a huge difference for me.
- 9:24If I don't have it, I definitely notice a difference from not taking it
- 9:28consistently. So if I had the time, I usually like to make my
- 9:33greens fresh with my blender and then I'll have it prepped in the fridge.
- 9:37But if I need to resort to something that's just easy and convenient, I
- 9:39always love adding athletic greens into my morning routine and I find it makes such
- 9:45a big difference. Another thing that I do to help de blow is just
- 9:48making sure that I have had the appropriate amount of water intake for the day.
- 9:54I notice when I lack water intake the following day, I'm pretty bloated.
- 10:01So I always just try and make sure I have like three full bottles
- 10:05of water a day. That way I know I'm getting the appropriate amount of
- 10:09water intake for the day. I also think being consistent with moving your body
- 10:13and like having a workout schedule and all that definitely makes a huge difference in
- 10:18bloating as well. I feel like if you're completely off schedule and you're out
- 10:22of whack for the week, I think you might notice some bloating because you're
- 10:26not like consistently doing what you usually do, whether you know, you work
- 10:28out five times a week or you go on a daily morning walk every single
- 10:31morning. Like, I definitely think there's a big difference when you're consistent with
- 10:37a workout routine. Okay, another question was what are your favorite high protein
- 10:41meals? And I really love talking about food because you guys know how much
- 10:46I love, you know, filming food, making recipes all that. I
- 10:48really want to dedicate an episode about food, like about how we consume,
- 10:54you know, how it affects our body all that, And I'm really wanting
- 10:58to get one of my friends who is a nutritionist to come on the episode
- 11:01with me because I would love to know her perspective of what foods due to
- 11:07your body. I find that's so interesting and something that I would really want
- 11:11to learn for myself and something to take away from the episode knowing, like
- 11:15how I can improve my overall health by eating certain foods. So let me
- 11:18know if you guys would also be interested in that, because I think it'd
- 11:22be really interesting to know, like what foods we should be avoiding, what
- 11:26foods we should be consuming in the morning all that. So anyways, I'm
- 11:30going to share my high protein meals that I always resort to on a daily
- 11:35or weekly basis. So for breakfast, I always love to do avocado on
- 11:39toast with a side of bacon and eggs. So that's a really high protein
- 11:43option. By having the bacon and eggs as an option, avocado also has
- 11:48good fats as well as some protein in it as well. I've been trying
- 11:52to have more savory breakfast is because I learned that your body digests food better
- 12:00in the morning, specifically if you have something savory verse sweet. And I've
- 12:03been eating sweet breakfasts, like I want to say, my whole life,
- 12:07Like I'm not even over exaggerating, like thinking, you know me as a
- 12:09kid eating cereal. You know, if I have a bagel, I'm usually
- 12:13having a Cinnama raisin bagel. Like everything has always just been sweet. So
- 12:18it's definitely been a huge adjustment to going to more of a savory breakfast,
- 12:24and I'm actually adding like a bit of honey just to still add that sweetness
- 12:28so it still doesn't taste, you know, fully savory. And I'm also
- 12:31adding a side of fruit. So as long as I'm eating the savory part
- 12:35first and then you know, allowing myself to enjoy but a sweetness within the
- 12:39meal, I think that's most important. But that's something that I'm working on
- 12:43currently. We'll see how it goes. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm
- 12:48only doing it like every second day versus every single day, so I'm hoping
- 12:52to hopefully eventually convert to fully savory breakfasts eventually. But the avocado on toast
- 12:56with bacon and eggs and the fruit have been my new goat to savory breakfast,
- 13:01and that's what I've been experimenting with too slowly convert to savory breakfast is
- 13:07moving forward. Another breakfast which you guys know that I love is protein powder
- 13:13oatmeal. I just find it so easy, inconvenient. You get your protein
- 13:16in, you get oats, which is very very good for a carbohydrate for
- 13:22the day. And then another thing that I like to make for breakfast is
- 13:26an omelet. So those are three high protein meals to have in the morning.
- 13:33Lunch ideas. I wish I had better lunch ideas. I suck at
- 13:37lunch recipes in general. This is something that I'm working on. But one
- 13:41that I always make that's just so easy, so good is egg tacos.
- 13:43I love egg tacos so so much. Sometimes I add some turkey bacon to
- 13:48that too, and then I just treat it like a regular taco, like
- 13:50I add salsa, I add hot sauce, I add lettuce, add all
- 13:54the toppings you would on a taco, and it's my goat to lunch.
- 14:00Another one that I'm obsessed with is adding feta cheese in my egg scramble.
- 14:03So you're getting more protein by adding the feta cheese into the scramble, and
- 14:09it's going to change your life. If you've never added feta cheese into your
- 14:13egg scramble, I'm telling you right now, you're going to be obsessed.
- 14:16It is my go too. I also love to add spinach and cherry tomatoes.
- 14:22It's so good. Anyways, I posted the recipe on my chiktok and
- 14:24in sacram so if you guys are looking for luncheons, but definitely try that
- 14:28recipe. And then the last one is my protein pasta salad. It's just
- 14:33the easiest thing to meal prep and you'll eat it all week and not be
- 14:37tired of it. So those are my three go to lunch recipes. And
- 14:41then for dinner, one thing that I've been really making recently is chicken Chapolti
- 14:46bowls, So I'm kind of greeting a healthy dupe. I have no idea
- 14:50from pronouncing chapolte right or not. I'm totally guessing right now, but I
- 14:54make a dupe for it. Basically, I do, you know, brown
- 14:58rice, lettuce, sell cheese. What else do I do? Hot sauce,
- 15:05chicken corn? Oh, anyways, it's so good and mix it all
- 15:09up. Oh you have to add avocado or like walk or something like that.
- 15:11That just makes the bowl. But I've been making that at home and
- 15:15it's actually been really really good, and that's very high protein. Another thing
- 15:18we've been eating as like an easy dinner idea that you know, Zach and
- 15:22I are lazy and we don't want to make something to gourmet or whatever,
- 15:26is chicken wings. I don't know why we've had this obsession with chicken wings.
- 15:31We literally just add salt and pepper to them and it's, I don't
- 15:35know, it's so good. So that's something that we've been eating as a
- 15:37high protein dinner option. And then lastly, like my again, this is
- 15:41something I have on a weekly basis, is just pea pizza and usually I'll
- 15:45put like either chicken or sausage or something on top, just so there's some
- 15:50protein in it. But yeah, those are like my go to high protein
- 15:52meals when it comes to my breakfast, my lunch, my dinner, all
- 15:56that, and those are just the ones I always resort to if I don't
- 15:58know what I'm to make for a meal for the day. Okay, this
- 16:02question was probably asked the most out of all the questions that were written in
- 16:07the question box was how to stay motivated, how to stay productive, how
- 16:11to stay consistent. So I'm going to break this question up about productivity,
- 16:15motivation, and consistency just because I have like different things I want to say
- 16:19about each when it comes to productivity personally, for me, I'm just going
- 16:23to give you guys the things that I do that helped me through motivation,
- 16:30consistency, productivity. All that is writing to do list. I honestly believe
- 16:34that I am productive during my days if I physically write a list of everything
- 16:40I have to get done for the day. If I don't write down a
- 16:41list, like I will have like I will do nothing realistically. I'll scroll
- 16:45on my phone, I'll go on TikTok, I'll waste my time, and
- 16:48I'll look at the clock. I'll be two pm and I've done nothing with
- 16:49my day. If I actually physically write down in my planner everything that I
- 16:55have to get done for the day, I almost hold myself accountable that I
- 16:57need to get that stuff done. So right now, if you feel like
- 17:02you're in a slump and you feel like you haven't been protective or anything like
- 17:04that, get a piece of paper out or get a notebook, write down
- 17:07everything that you need to get done. And I'm telling you right now,
- 17:11it will help so so much and we'll actually get your butt out of bed,
- 17:15and it will make you want to accomplish those things. How to stay
- 17:18motivated. So, there might be reasons why you're obviously not motivated. It
- 17:22could be because you're stress, it could be because you're burnt out, you're
- 17:26feeling overwhelmed all that. So how do we keep ourselves motivated? I think
- 17:32for me, when it comes to motivation, it's about setting daily goals for
- 17:34myself, avoiding distraction, and just focusing on the end goal. So for
- 17:41an example, obviously being on your phone is a huge distraction. I'm a
- 17:44victim to it. Obviously everyone's probably a victim to it. And I feel
- 17:48like that definitely plays an impact if I'm constantly scrolling and I'm not focusing on
- 17:53what my goals are for the day or anything like that, and by being
- 17:57on my phone and all that, I'm not solving my issue obviously, which
- 18:02is you know, feeling motivated to get stuff done and all that. So
- 18:04you really need to create a plan into how you're going to have a better
- 18:10mindset. So what are some goals that you're going to do for yourself to
- 18:12get that motivation back? Is it? Are you going to book a workout
- 18:15class? Are you going to you know, have a meetup with your friend
- 18:18at a coffee shop? Like sometimes it's good to, you know, change
- 18:22up your routine or change up the scenery, Like if you really want to
- 18:26rebuild that motivation, it's good to change things up sometimes sometimes when things are
- 18:30too much the same and you're just consistently doing the same thing every single day.
- 18:36Like obviously you can lose motivation by doing like you're just doing the same
- 18:40thing as yesterday. It's good to change it up and try new things and
- 18:44it kind of reallows you to remotivate yourself and discover new goals for yourself and
- 18:48all that. So I'm going to also highlight that not everybody's motivated every single
- 18:52day. You may think on social media that even for myself that, oh
- 18:56my god, Killy's motivated every single day, you can just tell and it's
- 18:59like, guys, I definitely have my days. Let's be honest, It's
- 19:02the reality. Everybody goes through waves of motivation. There's days where you're going
- 19:07to feel supermotivated and there's days where you're not. And that's just the reality.
- 19:11So please do not be too hard on yourself and think someone is being
- 19:14motivated or productive every single day, because the reality is everybody has days where
- 19:18they're good and where they're not so good. So just that reminder for you
- 19:22guys. When it comes to consistency, I honestly think the most important thing
- 19:26is, you know, having habits that you can actually stay consistent with Like,
- 19:32don't you be unrealistic with the habits that you do every single day.
- 19:37Obviously, that's going to be hard to stay consistent if you're doing something that
- 19:40you don't enjoy. So definitely develop consistent habits that you enjoy and reward yourself,
- 19:45Like that's what's going to keep you going, is creating a positive environment
- 19:48for yourself, you know, doing positive self talk. All that. Just
- 19:52kind of going back at the schedule. Thing that I told you guys about
- 19:56is that I feel like I'm consistent because I'm relying on my to do list.
- 20:02I'm relying on my schedule. I really treat it as like reminders of
- 20:06my day of everything that I have to get done. So I truly believe
- 20:08that I am consistent with my routine because I you know, I have a
- 20:12routine. I have a routine that I do every single day. I take,
- 20:15you know, two hours of my morning to do these things for myself.
- 20:18I'm setting the time out of my day to do those things for myself.
- 20:22And that's truly why I believe I am consistent is because I'm creating these
- 20:26lists for myself. I'm holding myself accountable. I have to, you know,
- 20:30achieve all these things before I move on with my day. Like,
- 20:32that's just something I truly believe in as to why I'm motivated and why I'm
- 20:36consistent is because I purposely write these things down to remind myself everything that I
- 20:41have to get done, and I honestly believe that's why I'm consistent with things
- 20:45that I do. So there's a tip. Okay, we're going to move
- 20:48on to the next question, how to become a morning person and wake up
- 20:55early. I'm just going to give some little tips. One is, start
- 20:59going to bed earlier. So if you're the kind of person that goes to
- 21:02bet at like midnight, eleven o'clock, like, you're not going to be
- 21:04waking up at six am or seven am. I'm telling you that right now.
- 21:07If you can, good on you. But that doesn't work for me
- 21:10specifically. I personally like to go to bed at ten and I aim to
- 21:14wake up for like six forty five seven. That's what works for me.
- 21:18I know some people that go to bed at nine, nine thirty eleven.
- 21:22Again, it's whatever works for you. But if you're someone that's up really
- 21:26really late, or if you're you know, going to bed at ten pm
- 21:29and you're still not waking up early, then maybe you need to try and
- 21:32go to bed earlier. Your body will naturally wake up in the morning as
- 21:36long as it's getting a good amount of rest and good amount of sleep throughout
- 21:40the night. So definitely try going to bed a bit earlier if you're looking
- 21:44to wake up earlier, if you're that kind of person where you feel like
- 21:47you have a hard time getting out of the bed. One thing that I
- 21:51read was if you fill up a glass of water before you go to bed
- 21:53and you leave it on your nightstand when you wake up, make it a
- 21:57habit to drink that water immediately as soon as you wake up. And apparently
- 22:03drinking that water is supposed to help you wake up because you're physically like doing
- 22:07something and it forces you to get out of bed. So try it out.
- 22:12I think I do it naturally, not even realizing it, because I
- 22:15always have my water bottle beside me, like it's on my nights stand,
- 22:18and I just gravitated towards my alarm clock, like I turn my hatch off,
- 22:22I grab my water. I drank it because my mouth is dry.
- 22:23Obviously, when I wake up and I find that helps me actually get out
- 22:27of bed. Another thing that I find helps is, well, this is
- 22:30more in the summertime, not the wintertime, but the sun rises at like
- 22:36I don't even know, I want to say, like five thirty six am
- 22:38here in Ottawa, So I always try and leave my blinds open. That
- 22:44way, the morning light is like in my eyes and it's forcing me to
- 22:47wake up. I find that always helps me get out of bed. And
- 22:49another thing could be creating a routine for yourself that like you actually enjoy.
- 22:53If you like dread waking up in the morning to do something that you don't
- 22:57want to do, then that's to make it hard for you to wake up
- 23:00obviously, So maybe create a routine that you actually enjoy that might push you
- 23:06to get out of bed easier. Another thing I like to do is sometimes
- 23:08I like to schedule my morning out specifically the night before, so I know
- 23:14everything that I have to get done for the day, you know, if
- 23:15I have appointments or if I have a workout class that I need to be
- 23:18at for a certain time. I always love to write a little schedule of
- 23:22the you know, minor tasks that I have to do early in the morning
- 23:25and sometimes that helps me get out of bad knowing that I'm on a time
- 23:27frame, if that makes sense. So yeah, those are my tips for
- 23:30becoming a morning person. Next question is how to keep your energy levels up.
- 23:37I'm going to say the three things that I feel like are pretty obvious
- 23:41when it comes to energy is sleep, meals, and moving your body.
- 23:45You need to get enough sleep. You need to be eating enough food throughout
- 23:49the day. That is a victim to me. When I was younger,
- 23:53I was not eating three well balanced meals a day. I would basically skip
- 23:57lunch all the time. And in college, I don't know why, that
- 24:00was just something I did, and I remember I used to be tired all
- 24:04the time and have no energy all that. If you're not eating three well
- 24:08balanced meals a day, that could be affecting why your energy is solo.
- 24:12So reevaluate that in your routine. See if that's something that you've been lacking
- 24:18lately, or maybe you're not realizing that you're not getting enough food in your
- 24:22system. So that's definitely one thing that I recommend when it comes to energy
- 24:26levels. Moving your body, making sure that you're actually scheduling time throughout your
- 24:30week to move your body. Like I said, you don't have to work
- 24:33out every single day, but make sure the days that you're not working out,
- 24:37maybe try and schedule at least a fifteen minute walk or something, get
- 24:40out of the house. These are things that are going to help you get
- 24:44your energy levels up and just make you feel better. So those are the
- 24:48three things that I recommend when it comes to your energy levels. Okay,
- 24:52someone asks advice on maintaining positivity. I think the key thing when it comes
- 25:00positivity is truly surrounding yourself with positive people. If there's a lot of negativity
- 25:06around your friends or your partner or anything like that, like that might be
- 25:11something that you need to reevaluate because if it's not you, it could be
- 25:15the people that you're surrounded around that's causing this negativity towards you. So definitely
- 25:21make sure you're surrounding yourself with the right kind of people. Another thing is
- 25:25practicing positive self talk. I've mentioned this in multiple episodes before, but I
- 25:30one hundred percent talk to myself all the time. I'm not ashamed of that.
- 25:33Like I will literally talk to myself in front of the mirror and say,
- 25:37Kaylee, you're going to get your shit together and you're going to clean
- 25:40this entire house. Like this is actually a true story. But this Sunday,
- 25:45I woke up and I have never been so tired. I have no
- 25:48idea why. I woke up just on the wrong side of the bed,
- 25:52and I had so much to get done on Sunday that I had to get
- 25:56done, and I had to really talk myself through it. I was like,
- 26:00you need to get your shit together and need to wake up, and
- 26:03you need to clean this entire house because you need to do your Sunday resets.
- 26:06So that is a true story where I literally had no motivation and just
- 26:11you know, I was so negative about myself, being like why am I
- 26:14so tired? Like I'm not gonna be able to get anything done that I
- 26:17wanted to get done today, blah blah blah. No I talked myself into
- 26:19it. I got the whole entire house cleaned, and you know, I
- 26:22was obviously happy in the end, And again, talking to myself in a
- 26:26positive way really helped out the situation. So practice self talk. I think
- 26:32it's so important. And then I guess it's kind of similar to surrounding yourself
- 26:36with positive people and then just identifying areas of change. So, like I
- 26:40said, that there's people that are surrounding you that are negative, then maybe
- 26:45you need to find new friends in your life, or maybe you need to
- 26:47find a new partner that's creating this negativity around you, or you know,
- 26:52maybe there's things that you're doing in your life that is just not creating a
- 26:56positive mindset for you. So you need to change that. So definitely evaluate
- 27:00things in your life that's going on that could be creating this negativity and being
- 27:06able to set time aside to figure out ways to change that and create that
- 27:11positive environment for yourself. Okay, next question in your health and wellness journey,
- 27:15did you ever follow up your routine and if so, how do you
- 27:18get back into routine? One? Like, I know everybody in this world
- 27:23cannot say that they have a perfect routine and that everything is so easy,
- 27:27blah blah blah. No, that is a bullshit. One hundred percent.
- 27:33Every single time I've traveled, I have struggled to get back into routine.
- 27:37It's definitely something that I always struggle with and it's just the reality. But
- 27:41things that I do to help myself get back into routine is starting small.
- 27:45I kind of think about Okay, I think about when I first started my
- 27:48health and wellness journey and how I started with small changes. So first things
- 27:52first, I always love to work out in the morning. Sometimes I have
- 27:56no motivation when I wake up from being on vacation for a week where I
- 27:59did no workouts at all. I always like to work out for just like
- 28:03fifteen to twenty minutes, like half my typical workout time. Usually I work
- 28:07out for forty minutes, So I always like to start with that and just
- 28:11very simple workouts, nothing too crazy. That for me works because then the
- 28:15next day I'll up the workout, maybe it's just twenty five minutes, and
- 28:19then the following day I'll up it to thirty minutes, and then I rebuild
- 28:22that schedule for myself. When it comes to healthy eating, I don't feel
- 28:26like I struggle with that too much. I mean, obviously, when you're
- 28:30on vacation, you're eating whatever foods you want. All that. I find
- 28:33when I get home from vacation, my body craves healthy food just because I'm
- 28:37so used to eating a healthy diet. So for me, I find I've
- 28:41never really struggled to get back into a healthy way of eating. I always
- 28:45have my go to meals, my staple meals, so I kind of just
- 28:48resort back to that with those meals that I always eat, like you know,
- 28:52my protein oatmeal, my protein pass to salad or anything like that.
- 28:56Like the meals that I touched on in the beginning of this episode about high
- 29:00protein meals. I always try and resort to those when I get back from
- 29:03vacation because they're staples. I know they're healthy, and as I said,
- 29:07I feel like my body just craves health, especially after eating like crap for
- 29:11an entire week and then getting back into an early morning is definitely hard.
- 29:15So one thing for me that works is I always go to bed at ten
- 29:19PM, Like that's just my nighttime, Like that's when I turn my phone
- 29:23off, that's when I turn off the lights all that. So when I
- 29:27get back from vacation, even if I go to bed at ten PM,
- 29:30I will still wake up late the next day. It's just the reality.
- 29:33I will not wake up at seven. I'll probably wake up at like almost
- 29:36eight. So purposely what I do is that I actually go to bed thirty
- 29:40minutes earlier than I usually do for that entire week. So I'll go to
- 29:42bed at nine thirties to to ten. That way, my body gets used
- 29:45to waking up early. Just getting that extra thirty minutes asleep, I personally
- 29:49find makes a difference for me. So that's what I do. And then
- 29:52once I've gotten back onto that early morning schedule, I'll then go back to
- 29:56my ten pm bedtime and I'm back at my usual early morning routine. So
- 30:04those are some things that work for me when it comes to getting back into
- 30:07routine. Again, this might not work for you, but these are just
- 30:11tips that I usually resort to when I'm getting back from vacation. I need
- 30:15to get back into routine. So the next question is daily supplements I take.
- 30:21I will share them, but please do not feel like you need to
- 30:22buy any of this for yourself. This is like a very touchy subject I
- 30:27find, because yeah, I don't want to have everybody go by the same
- 30:32supplements as me. This is just like what works for me. And do
- 30:34your own research before you buy anything, because obviously supplements are not cheap and
- 30:38I want to make sure you guys do the research for yourself to make sure
- 30:41it will benefit you. So one thing I take every single morning is a
- 30:47probiotic. We need to have a healthy gut, and yeah, I find
- 30:51probiotics just make a huge difference for how I feel. Another one that I've
- 30:57been taking for two months now consistently and I find it's been working really well
- 31:03is mood and emotional balance. This is something that I included into my routine
- 31:08around May and it's definitely made a difference in my mood because I feel like
- 31:15I definitely have you up and down mood swings when it comes to like seasonal
- 31:22depression and all that, and I feel like this has definitely helped a more
- 31:26consistent like mood, if that makes sense. So that's something that I take.
- 31:32Collagen. I take Colligen every single day. If you want strong,
- 31:34healthy hair, if you want strong healthy nails, if you want healthy skin,
- 31:38you need to include colligen into routine. The brand I use is Organica.
- 31:44It is by far the best collagen that I've ever used. Clean ingredients
- 31:48all that. It's a Canadian company, I believe, but I think it
- 31:52should be linked in my LTK. If it's not semi message, I will
- 31:55send you a link. But Colligen is by very important to have into your
- 32:00routine. Another thing is electro lights. If you're someone that is struggling with
- 32:04energy levels. This is a really good product to include to your routine.
- 32:07The brand I use is Element. You can get them off Amazon. It
- 32:12is a great way to maintain hydration. I have one a day. I
- 32:15drink a full bottle of water in the morning and then I'll have a Element
- 32:21in the afternoon which is the electro light, and then I will have another
- 32:23bottle around dinner slash evening routine time. So that is something I also take.
- 32:31And then green powder, which you guys know taking greens in the morning
- 32:35before I eat anything is yeah what I take, So I think that's it.
- 32:40I might be missing one, Like I don't really take vitamin C or
- 32:45vitamin D or anything like that. I just take a probiotic and a mood
- 32:50and emotional balance pill in the morning. And yeah, that is a supplements
- 32:55I take. Okay, the last question I'm going to answer is about anxiety,
- 33:00because hot girls have anxiety. It's just the reality. So I do
- 33:07not want to say that I am fully cured from my anxiety. I definitely
- 33:12struggle with it. So just being real here, but I'm going to tell
- 33:15you guys some things that I do to manage it. So first things.
- 33:21First, I love coffee, but it definitely plays an impact in my anxiety
- 33:24for sure, like huge impact, and I personally do not want to remove
- 33:30coffee from my routine. I know a lot of Matcha lovers are going to
- 33:34come at me and be like, Kayley, you need to switch. It's
- 33:36going to be life changing, blah blah blah. I have tried matcha guys.
- 33:39I can't do it. I just can't. As much as I want
- 33:43to become a match A girl, I can't. You guys know Trend from
- 33:46the Wellness Cafe. She's become a Matcha girl and she's trying to get me
- 33:50on it, and every time she orders one, I try it and I'm
- 33:53like, Trend, I can't do it. I can't do it. I
- 33:55don't know if I just can't handle the taste or if I'm just so pick
- 34:00I have no idea, but you know, maybe one day I will try
- 34:04a good matcha and I will become a Matcha girl, but for something that
- 34:07I make at home. I am an iced coffee girl forever and always just
- 34:10the reality. But one thing I do to manage my anxiety when it comes
- 34:15to coffee is I try and only have one coffee a day, and I
- 34:19always try and have coffee before noon. I find it makes a huge impact.
- 34:22And it also just allows me to have a good sleep at night as
- 34:27well, because if I have a coffee at like two o'clock, I will
- 34:30not be asleep by ten. I'bvious sleep by midnight, So that is something
- 34:34I do. I definitely try my best to also have decalf. I mean,
- 34:37decalf doesn't taste as good as caffe neated. That's just the reality.
- 34:38But I try and have a decalf coffee sometimes too. If I'm feeling like
- 34:45overly anxious when I wake up, I will resort to a decalf. But
- 34:47if I'm feeling okay, like I'll just have a caffe neated and I'll just
- 34:51make sure you know, I have food in my system before I've had a
- 34:53coffee all that. That's another thing that I'm gonna stress the importance about is
- 34:59having food before you have coffee. Your anxiety will spike so much if you
- 35:02have coffee like as soon as you wake up. Please do not do that.
- 35:07I'm telling you right now, you need to have breakfast. I usually
- 35:09wait an hour after and then I have my coffee. Some girls just like
- 35:14can't have a coffee like past nine am, which is fine, but trust
- 35:19me, if you really want to work on your anxiety, I definitely think
- 35:21it makes a huge difference when you've had food before a coffee. Another thing
- 35:25is meditation, which you guys know I mentioned I'm working on. So that's
- 35:29something that I feel like is definitely helping my anxiety. It's still the beginning
- 35:32stages, so I don't want to say a full review on how I'm feeling
- 35:35lately, but it's definitely something that is good to relax your body and just
- 35:40help the stress and all that. Journaling is another great one to manage your
- 35:45anxiety, writing down your daily affirmations all that limiting your alcohol consumption. I
- 35:52personally don't drink like every single day. I rarely drink like every single week.
- 35:58I am a social drinker. I will only drink if I'm with a
- 36:00group of friends or like that, or sometimes you know, if Zac and
- 36:02I are having a date night at home, will make a cocktail for us,
- 36:06but I won't have seven, I'll have one. So if you're someone
- 36:09that really struggles with anxiety, alcohol definitely plays a huge factor. If you're
- 36:14having a glass of wine every single night and you're dealing with pretty bad anxiety,
- 36:17it might be best to reevaluate that and maybe start, you know,
- 36:21making some changes in your lifestyle by not having a glass of wine every single
- 36:25night and maybe you know, getting a non alcoholic wine from the grocery store
- 36:30that tastes like wine. That way, it makes you feel like you're drinking
- 36:34wine, but it doesn't spike your anxiety from drinking alcohol. So that's definitely
- 36:40something that I do for my anxiety is limit my consumption of alcohol. And
- 36:45then also just following a healthy meal plan. I definitely know when I'm you
- 36:50know, traveling and I'm eating whatever I want, which I mean obviously I
- 36:53should, I'm on vacation, I definitely noticed my anxiety is not that great
- 36:59because I'm not focusing on you know, eating healthy foods and all that.
- 37:01So I definitely think following a healthy meal plan definitely plays an impact in anxiety
- 37:07as well. And staying active, going on walks all that, Like,
- 37:10those are things that I find are my therapy when it comes to my anxiety.
- 37:15I feel like just going on a long walk it just allows me to
- 37:19you know, just kind of escape, and yeah, walking to me is
- 37:23so therapeutic. I love walking so much with Freddie. It's my favorite thing
- 37:28to do, as you guys know. But I definitely find like dedicating movement
- 37:32throughout my day helps me manage my anxiety. So those are the top things
- 37:37that I do personally that help manage my anxiety. It might not work for
- 37:42you, but if you feel like you're in a very severe situation where your
- 37:45anxiety, you know, is so so bad to the point where you might
- 37:49need, you know, medical attension for someone who might be a professional at
- 37:52how to help you manage and find ways to help you deal with your anxiety.
- 37:55It's it's definitely best to reach out to someone or potentially go to therapy
- 38:00and have a therapist or anything like that. So know that you are not
- 38:05alone and that there are a lot of people out there that do deal with
- 38:07anxiety, including myself, and it's a working progress and know that you will
- 38:13get through it. So those are the tips that I have for manager anxiety
- 38:16when it comes to yeah, just working on it. So those are some
- 38:22of the questions that you guys ask me. I think that was fun?
- 38:24What did you guys think? I liked that episode. I really love answering
- 38:29questions that you guys have for me, and I try and give you guys
- 38:31the best advice that I can give, as well as just give you guys
- 38:35my personal advice when it comes to things that I've personally tried myself. But
- 38:38I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. If you did, definitely let me
- 38:40know. I'd love to hear your feedback. But I love you guys all
- 38:44so much. Thank you for listening to another episode. If you guys are
- 38:47new, definitely make sure to follow the host, Kaylee. My instagram and

- 39:00guys so much for listening to another episode, and I love you all so much.
