Speaker 1: Hey, what's happening everybody? Welcome into this edition of the
• 0:12
Speaker 1: check Odaily. It's Andrew to Checko here Eagles beat reporter
• 0:15
Speaker 1: from inside the Birds dot Com. And today is Friday,
• 0:18
Speaker 1: which means the Eagles closed out their week of preparation
• 0:21
Speaker 1: ahead of Sunday afternoons kickoff with the Dallas Cowboys. We
• 0:26
Speaker 1: have an official injury report, so the game status is
• 0:30
Speaker 1: for Sunday out Lane Johnson with the foot no surprise, questionable, tackle,
• 0:36
Speaker 1: Miles Hinton, back, center Cam Jurgens, concussion, and guard Centerway
• 0:41
Speaker 1: Lampkin knee ankle. Friday's practice report for those curious, did
• 0:46
Speaker 1: not practice tackle Lane Johnson foot full participants, tackle Miles Hinton, back, center,
• 0:52
Speaker 1: Cam Jurgens, guard Centerway Lampkin, outside linebacker Jalen Phillips.
• 0:58
Speaker 2: So there you have it.
• 1:00
Speaker 1: We'll have to wait and see what transpires with the
• 1:03
Speaker 1: concussion because it's out of anyone's hands.
• 1:07
Speaker 2: You have to make it through a protocol.
• 1:08
Speaker 1: And I can recall a time where Lane Johnson traveled
• 1:11
Speaker 1: with the Eagles. It may have been the Buccaneers game
• 1:14
Speaker 1: last year and then he was actually ruled out, So
• 1:18
Speaker 1: you never know. These things can be fickle, but it
• 1:20
Speaker 1: seems like Cam Jurgens is trending in the right direction
• 1:23
Speaker 1: and it's going to be a pretty enticing matchup, I
• 1:26
Speaker 1: should say, a pretty intriguing matchup when you have the
• 1:30
Speaker 1: prospects of Cam Jurgens out there versus Quentin Williams, who
• 1:33
Speaker 1: had a second and a half.
• 1:35
Speaker 2: In his Cowboys debut against the Raiders.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: Quinnin Williams is a game wrecker, good player, and you
• 1:42
Speaker 1: have to be mindful where he is at all times.
• 1:44
Speaker 1: That's one of my key matchups in this game, so
• 1:49
Speaker 1: that's one of the things I'll be keeping an eye on. Also,
• 1:51
Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys played a lot of zone so that's
• 1:53
Speaker 1: an area that Jaywen Hurts has struggled in in this game,
• 1:56
Speaker 1: and I think when you look at it, there are
• 1:59
Speaker 1: still opportunities to attack that secondary.
• 2:01
Speaker 2: Look at their cornerback situation.
• 2:03
Speaker 1: No Trayvon Diggs, so you have Kaylin Carson, Duran Bland,
• 2:07
Speaker 1: and Savone Revel who's a rookie who did not play
• 2:10
Speaker 1: in the previous matchup. Malik Hooker returns pairing at safety
• 2:14
Speaker 1: with Donovan Wilson. Again, it's a solid tandem of safeties,
• 2:19
Speaker 1: but they are beatable and the tape reflects that where
• 2:22
Speaker 1: I think that they have improved drastically since the previous matchup,
• 2:26
Speaker 1: and the same goes for the Eagles, by the way,
• 2:28
Speaker 1: is the pass rush Rookie Donovan az Araku is playing
• 2:31
Speaker 1: a lot more and making an impact.
• 2:34
  Speaker 2: There's Quinn Williams who's there.
• 2:35
Speaker 1: OsO Adighizua is a player who I think doesn't get
• 2:38
Speaker 1: nearly enough credit across the NFL. He's someone who is quicker,
• 2:41
Speaker 1: a little bit undersized, but can push the pocket. And
• 2:45
Speaker 1: they have a lot of players there that I think
• 2:47
Speaker 1: could wreak havoc. And the Eagles offensive line is going
• 2:51
Speaker 1: to start Fred Johnson at right tackles, so you know,
• 2:54
Speaker 1: it's something to be mindful of. And that's why I
• 2:58
Speaker 1: underscored as a roku and some and some of their
• 3:02
Speaker 1: past rush ability because that could factor in. This is
• 3:05
Speaker 1: a game, though, and I am expecting it to kind
• 3:07
Speaker 1: of reflect the Eagle Steelers game of last season, where
• 3:09
Speaker 1: the offense gets rolling optimal conditions indoors. It's a fast
• 3:13
Speaker 1: track there At Dallas, the Cowboys are going to score
• 3:16
Speaker 1: George Pickens, their wide receiver second in the NFL, and
• 3:19
Speaker 1: receiving has been playing a tremendous you know, game in
• 3:25
Speaker 1: a tremendous football right now, and I think when you
• 3:29
Speaker 1: look at you know, Cede Lamb, who can play inside
• 3:32
Speaker 1: or outside. Jake Ferguson is a good intermediary target for Dallas.
• 3:36
Speaker 2: For Dallas and Dak Prescott. But the Eagles have done.
• 3:39
Speaker 1: A nice job bottling up tight ends this season, and
• 3:43
Speaker 1: I think that when you look at the weapons that
• 3:44
Speaker 1: they have in the protection upfront. We don't talk enough
• 3:47
Speaker 1: about that, but they're healthy upfront and that should, at
• 3:50
Speaker 1: least in theory, allow Dak Prescott in Dallas to have
• 3:53
Speaker 1: a little bit more success moving the football than maybe
• 3:55
Speaker 1: the Packers or the Lions. Certainly, conditions won't be a factor,
• 3:59
Speaker 1: but Dak Prescott does a nice job of getting the
• 4:01
Speaker 1: ball out quickly and facilitating it to his playmakers.
• 4:04
Speaker 2: But I think that the game within the game, in my.
• 4:07
Speaker 1: Estimation, is the Eagles pass rush versus that Dallas protection
• 4:11
Speaker 1: up front, because if they're able to get home and
• 4:13
Speaker 1: force Dak Prescott to process quickly and get rid of
• 4:17
Speaker 1: the football, and maybe you put him in a situation
• 4:20
Speaker 1: where he makes a hasty call and it winds up
• 4:23
Speaker 1: in the hands of one of the Eagles defenders.
• 4:25
Speaker 2: That's what this pass rush can do.
• 4:27
Speaker 1: And I think that they are playing at a very
• 4:29
Speaker 1: high level right now with Jaywin Phillips and jay Loox.
• 4:32
Speaker 1: Hunt's playing at an extremely high level. I think he
• 4:36
Speaker 1: had his best game as a pro last Sunday against
• 4:38
Speaker 1: the Lions. So that's something that I'll be certainly keeping
• 4:41
Speaker 1: an eye on. But it's a fascinating matchup. And I
• 4:44
Speaker 1: don't know that we could have said that, you know,
• 4:46
Speaker 1: coming out of Week one. Now the Dallas Cowboys, this
• 4:49
Speaker 1: feels like a make or break point of their season,
• 4:51
Speaker 1: and I would argue there's even more pressure on Dak
• 4:54
Speaker 1: Prescott and the Dallas team in general to perform. They
• 4:59
Speaker 1: had a really good show against the Raiders thirty three points.
• 5:03
Speaker 2: Was that a byproduct of a.
• 5:04
Speaker 1: Team you know that isn't you know, hardly among the
• 5:08
Speaker 1: NFL's elite, or is it a team that's sort of
• 5:12
Speaker 1: playing with the renewed sense of.
• 5:15
  Speaker 2: Energy and hope.
• 5:17
Speaker 1: But the pressure is there for one, because their season
• 5:20
Speaker 1: feels like it's hanging in the balance, and two the
• 5:24
Speaker 1: Cowboys winning big in the way that they did, and
• 5:26
Speaker 1: you acquire Quinn Williams and Logan Wilson you have players
• 5:29
Speaker 1: coming back. George Pickens is playing at such a high level.
• 5:33
Speaker 1: They've instilled a lot of hope and confidence, I feel
• 5:37
Speaker 1: in their fan base.
• 5:38
Speaker 2: So who knows. They could be playing a little bit
• 5:40
Speaker 2: tighter in this game. But it seems to me, at
• 5:43
Speaker 2: least from the outside.
• 5:44
Speaker 1: Obviously I don't cover the Cowboys, but they are playing
• 5:47
Speaker 1: as a collective. They're sort of rowing around, They're inspired
• 5:52
Speaker 1: efforts on both sides of the ball, and I think
• 5:54
Speaker 1: this game is going to be really interesting to watch
• 5:57
Speaker 1: and certainly more entertaining than the previous two weeks were
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: for the Eagles.
• 6:01
Speaker 2: Now on the Eagle side.
• 6:04
Speaker 1: I think that Jalen Hurts is prime for a big
• 6:07
Speaker 1: game just based off of matchups. But when there's a
• 6:11
Speaker 1: lot of chatter or when there's a lot of just
• 6:14
Speaker 1: noise on the outside, Jalen Hurts always seems to internalize
• 6:19
Speaker 1: that and go out there and play with an edge
• 6:21
Speaker 1: and prove a point and punctuate what you punctuate that
• 6:25
Speaker 1: with usually a pretty sound outing. And so I look
• 6:30
Speaker 1: at that, and I look at just when the lights
• 6:35
Speaker 1: are brightest and the pressure mounts or whatever you want
• 6:38
Speaker 1: to say, that's where Jalen Hurts seems to deliver, and
• 6:41
Speaker 1: I think this is going to be another big spot
• 6:43
Speaker 1: in which he does.
• 6:44
  Speaker 2: So.
• 6:45
Speaker 3: Hey, it's Jeff Mosher. And if you have a family

• 9:27
Speaker 1: My final prediction for this game, I have the Eagles
• 9:30
Speaker 1: winning thirty to twenty four. Jayalen Hurts is going to
• 9:34
Speaker 1: be the player of the game based on how I
• 9:36
Speaker 1: sort of have the game playing out in my mind,
• 9:38
Speaker 1: and my bold prediction would be Jay looks Hunt picks
• 9:41
Speaker 1: up his third sack of the season. As I mentioned,
• 9:44
Speaker 1: he's playing a tremendous brand of football right now. And
• 9:48
Speaker 1: let's see. I think Tank Bigsby goes over fifty yards
• 9:53
Speaker 1: rushing in this game. This feels like a spot where
• 9:58
Speaker 1: you see how productive he's been running the football. I'm
• 10:00
Speaker 1: not suggesting he's going to have ten plus carries barring
• 10:03
Speaker 1: a blowout, but there's a world where he should be
• 10:06
Speaker 1: able to have seven or eight. Divvy up the workload
• 10:09
Speaker 1: with Saquon Barkley and maybe even ad will Shipley in there.
• 10:12
Speaker 1: To have three different players that you're rolling out there
• 10:14
Speaker 1: and throwing at the Cowboys and forcing them to account
• 10:19
Speaker 1: for that, and well, we'll have to wait and see.
• 10:21
Speaker 1: I can't wait to see how everything unfolds. Sunday afternoon,
• 10:24
Speaker 1: four twenty five kickoff. Love those four to twenty five games,
• 10:27
