- 0:26Speaker 1: Hello and welcome today three of Patriots Training Camp and
- 0:31Speaker 1: live from Training Camp, it's Patriots Unfiltered. I'm Fred Kirsh.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I'm joined by Paul Perlo, Tamara Brown, Mike do So,
- 0:39Speaker 1: Evan Lazarre, and we'll be here for the duration of
- 0:41Speaker 1: practice today, bringing you everything that we see, taking your emails,
- 0:46Speaker 1: taking your calls. It's a great day here, a beautiful day.
- 0:49Speaker 1: It's been overcast the first two days, but today the
- 0:52Speaker 1: sun is out. Uh, there's a lot of people coming.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I see. I'm looking down here. The stands are starting
- 0:58Speaker 1: to fill and there's a ton of people still waiting
- 1:01Speaker 1: to get in here. So this is a big day.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It's Friday here at Jillese Stadium, of course, and again
- 1:07Speaker 1: day three. So guys, what are we looking for. We
- 1:11Speaker 1: had a little breaking news just before we went on air.
- 1:15Speaker 1: We got to clear the trill, clear their depths.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Just so I thank you oh yeah, no, Now, Gabril
- 1:22Speaker 4: Pepper's field yates coming through with a report this morning
- 1:25Speaker 4: Jabrill Peppers signed a three year extension twenty four million
- 1:29Speaker 4: up to thirty million.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I think Ji Rob Mayo did. He directly confirmed it,
- 1:32Speaker 1: directly directly confirmed it. Good for him. Uh yeah, he's uh.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:37Speaker 4: I mean, I think we talked about it the first
- 1:38Speaker 4: or second day of the show. I think he's a
- 1:40Speaker 4: really good player. I think he brings great energy to
- 1:43Speaker 4: the defense. I think, you know, he just he exudes
- 1:45Speaker 4: that physicality that I think you want your defense to embody,
- 1:49Speaker 4: and he's just fearless. I think players, uh you know,
- 1:52Speaker 4: want to play harder playing with Jabrill Peppers. So I
- 1:55Speaker 4: love it. I think he's a great player. You got
- 1:56Speaker 4: Duggar and Peppers locked up for the next few years,
- 1:59Speaker 4: so I hesitate to call it the back end of
- 2:02Speaker 4: your defense, because really, those guys can can play just
- 2:04Speaker 4: about anywhere on the field.
- 2:07Speaker 1: So excited, I'm I'm pumped.
- 2:08Speaker 4: I think he's a great guy, and I'm excited to
- 2:10Speaker 4: continue getting an up close look at it the way
- 2:12Speaker 4: he plays the game because it's fun to watch.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I mean, going back to the beginning
- 2:16Speaker 1: of the dynasty when you had Lawyer Maloy and then
- 2:18Speaker 1: he was succeeded by Rodney Harrison. Safety, you know, has
- 2:23Speaker 1: been a strong point when they were winning, and so
- 2:26Speaker 1: it's good to see. I'm with you, Mike. I like
- 2:29Speaker 1: Jabrill Peppers. I think he's an impact player back there.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I think he brings it. He can play up close,
- 2:34Speaker 1: he can play back. It gives him a little versatility
- 2:37Speaker 1: back there. I love this. Yeah, what are you thinking now, though,
- 2:42Speaker 1: if you're Judon or Godshaw.
- 2:45Speaker 4: That's a great question, Fred, I mean, and that's obviously
- 2:47Speaker 4: a very a very pertinent question.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And I mean, to me, it.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Looks like the priority is guys still in their twenties,
- 2:55Speaker 4: you know, and maybe the guys in their early thirties.
- 2:58Speaker 4: It's I mean, I understand what the philosophy is for
- 3:01Speaker 4: Elliott Wolf that you know, you're you're not trying to
- 3:03Speaker 4: overextend to give guys a contract. I think Evan has
- 3:06Speaker 4: said before, like, is Matthew Judon going to be a
- 3:08Speaker 4: part of the next great Patriots team.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It's hard, It's hard to make that argument.
- 3:12Speaker 4: But again, this just does it puts more pressure on
- 3:15Speaker 4: the godshot Judon situations.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Yeah, Gid Mayo did say that Godshaw was injury related.
- 3:21Speaker 5: He said he had tweaked something to tightness.
- 3:25Speaker 1: That's the definition of a holding on day one. But
- 3:29Speaker 1: it's very it's worth very obviously.
- 3:31Speaker 5: But you know, just looking at it statistically with Jabrill
- 3:34Speaker 5: Peppers one of the most versatile defenders in all of football.
- 3:37Speaker 5: You know that we have now a PFF and all
- 3:39Speaker 5: these places they track actually where guys line up a
- 3:42Speaker 5: location wise, and he's one of the most versatile guys
- 3:46Speaker 5: in the league. Plays at all three levels of the defense.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Plays deep plays, box safety, plays in the slot. You know,
- 3:52Speaker 5: he's just an incredibly versatile player. And I think one
- 3:54Speaker 5: of the things that we've gotten to know him a
- 3:56Speaker 5: little bit in the locker room over the last year
- 3:58Speaker 5: or so, and just a guy that I could definitely
- 4:01Speaker 5: see wearing a sea on his jersey later this year.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Just a complete leader, captain, tone setter, intense guy. But honest,
- 4:13Speaker 5: you know, a lot of the struggles that they had
- 4:16Speaker 5: last year, the first guy to tell you this is
- 4:19Speaker 5: on us, Like this is on the players, Like Bill's
- 4:22Speaker 5: not out there on the field play. You know, this
- 4:24Speaker 5: is our our team and this is our fault that
- 4:27Speaker 5: we're not good. And he's one of those guys that
- 4:30Speaker 5: I feel like when we start to talk about culture
- 4:33Speaker 5: and building a positive culture, he's right at the top
- 4:37Speaker 5: of the list of players, you know, Dugert Moore, a
- 4:39Speaker 5: quiet guy.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Peers definitely add spice to the defense.
- 4:43Speaker 6: Yeah, echo echoing what we said yesterday, he's got that
- 4:45Speaker 6: dog in him or as dou said, when you turn
- 4:47Speaker 6: on the X ray, you see the dog in the
- 4:48Speaker 6: inside of him. And I really think that's Jabrill Peppers.
- 4:51Speaker 6: And I also like what Evan said about his honesty.
- 4:53Speaker 6: I think you want a guy who not only is
- 4:55Speaker 6: really loud on the field, but off of the field
- 4:57Speaker 6: as well, and he's not afraid to, you know, admit
- 5:00Speaker 6: when they're wrong, admit when they have fault, when they
- 5:02Speaker 6: need to get better. So he's a guy who's always
- 5:04Speaker 6: gonna take his entire tank and put it.
- 5:06Speaker 7: All out in the field.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So I mean, say what you want about bringing in
- 5:11Speaker 1: free agents and all that. I like what they're doing.
- 5:14Speaker 1: They're they're telling these guys, you're in our plans, you're
- 5:18Speaker 1: important to us, and we want you to be part of,
- 5:21Speaker 1: you know, this movement, this forward movement. So I think
- 5:25Speaker 1: that's exciting.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Yeah, Fred and Do says point of desult multiple times.
- 5:29Speaker 6: He was looking at, you know, the roster for the
- 5:31Speaker 6: next two years. He's like, there's not many guys that
- 5:33Speaker 6: are signed for the next two years, so you need
- 5:35Speaker 6: to have guys lined up so that you're not just
- 5:37Speaker 6: building from complete scratch.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah, Now it's uh, I guess the salt and peppers.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Maybe we can get that going.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Jersey or something. That's good. That's good. That's a fret
- 5:50Speaker 1: joke right there. But congratulations, Mike. I don't know if
- 5:53Speaker 1: you get a little I'm just happy for you. Yeah,
- 5:54Speaker 1: I don't know if you get a little taste of that.
- 5:57Speaker 4: But now he'll give me, He'll give me a little
- 5:58Speaker 4: kickack because I've been singing this for so long. But
- 6:01Speaker 4: you know, look, we've been here and there's a look,
- 6:03Speaker 4: let's admit it, there's kind of been a.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Lack of talent a lot of these years, especially twenty twenty.
- 6:08Speaker 4: When you know that was almost like a I mean,
- 6:10Speaker 4: I wish I could say it was hit the reset button.
- 6:13Speaker 1: But he's just a guy that's fun to watch.
- 6:14Speaker 4: And if you're gonna do this job and you're gonna
- 6:16Speaker 4: come out here every day, you want to see guys
- 6:18Speaker 4: who you know, play with their hair on fire and
- 6:20Speaker 4: you know, have some personality and or fun to talk to.
- 6:22Speaker 4: So I think he checks all those boxes. But back
- 6:25Speaker 4: to your point, Fred, I agree. I like what they're doing.
- 6:27Speaker 4: I just think the inevitable conflict that was going to
- 6:30Speaker 4: a rise by this plan was exactly what we're seeing
- 6:32Speaker 4: the late thirty you know, the early thirty something guys
- 6:35Speaker 4: on defense and on offense. You know, those guys aren't
- 6:38Speaker 4: the priority right now, and I understand why. It's just
- 6:41Speaker 4: a question of how far are they willing to go.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Are they willing to move on from Matthew Judorn or
- 6:46Speaker 4: Devon Gotcha, or are they willing to take a little
- 6:49Speaker 4: of this money that this has been primarily focused on
- 6:52Speaker 4: the younger guys, the second contract guys, and give them
- 6:56Speaker 4: a little sweetener so that you know you can have
- 6:59Speaker 4: an elite defense, Because I think that with Godcha, I
- 7:01Speaker 4: think they're gonna be a pretty good defense without like
- 7:05Speaker 4: if I think they could get by without Gotcha, But
- 7:07Speaker 4: I think if you truly want to make this an
- 7:08Speaker 4: elite defense and live up to its potential.
- 7:11Speaker 1: That we're seeing to field, you need those two to
- 7:13Speaker 1: be clear with Judon, they have made him an offer
- 7:16Speaker 1: now from what I from the reports, it's not something
- 7:19Speaker 1: that he would entertain. But I don't think the Patriots
- 7:22Speaker 1: are opposed to giving him more money this year. Yeah,
- 7:25Speaker 1: but what we don't know is what Judon really wants.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Does he want a three year contract or something like that,
- 7:32Speaker 1: and that might be the impass I think that's great.
- 7:34Speaker 1: But I think if Judon is okay with simply just
- 7:37Speaker 1: getting more money this year, I think it had been
- 7:39Speaker 1: a done deal by now.
- 7:40Speaker 4: I think that's probably the way to do it for them,
- 7:43Speaker 4: because I doubt that they're gonna we talked about yesterday
- 7:46Speaker 4: the void years and you know, kicking money down the
- 7:48Speaker 4: road and all. Well, you know Judon is going to
- 7:51Speaker 4: be on our cap into twenty twenty seven.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Like, I don't think they're gonna do that.
- 7:54Speaker 4: If anything, a little sweetener this year, but I would
- 7:57Speaker 4: I would bet that this money all comes off the
- 8:00Speaker 4: this year and there's you know that they're not going
- 8:01Speaker 4: to have anything left over.
- 8:02Speaker 8: But see, I don't I'm gonna preface this by saying
- 8:06Speaker 8: I don't know what the offer was, right, but I
- 8:09Speaker 8: think he'd be happy with more money this year. But
- 8:12Speaker 8: My guess is they offered him what he's not enough
- 8:14Speaker 8: for him to be happy. Yeah, okay, Like I don't
- 8:17Speaker 8: think it's just like extension or bust.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, it could be. It could be like I
- 8:23Speaker 1: think he is well then I think that because.
- 8:26Speaker 8: He took the money last year from this year, he's
- 8:29Speaker 8: now like just for this year, woefully underpaid. I think
- 8:34Speaker 8: there was a stat that he's something like twenty nine
- 8:39Speaker 8: you know, you know, annual value for this year for
- 8:44Speaker 8: as rushing for a pass rusher, right, And I think
- 8:47Speaker 8: if you made that, you know a little bit closer now,
- 8:50Speaker 8: the Patriots might look at that and say, well, you're
- 8:52Speaker 8: not that guy anymore. You got hurt last year, you
- 8:54Speaker 8: only played three and a half games. We're not looking
- 8:58Speaker 8: to do that for a thirty two year old or
- 8:59Speaker 8: soon to be thirty two year.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Old pass rusher.
- 9:01Speaker 8: You know, I think that's probably closer to where the Yeah,
- 9:05Speaker 8: they would passed.
- 9:05Speaker 1: But they were willing to do something. You just don't
- 9:07Speaker 1: know what and how much exactly I would. I mean, listen,
- 9:11Speaker 1: I'd go a little bit just to have him on
- 9:13Speaker 1: the team this year. I'd go maybe a little further
- 9:16Speaker 1: than they have just to get them because I think
- 9:18Speaker 1: they do need that edge guy.
- 9:19Speaker 8: And I don't know what they offered. They might have
- 9:21Speaker 8: offered him another ten million a year and he said no,
- 9:23Speaker 8: it's not enough. So you know, I don't know how
- 9:25Speaker 8: much is enough. But I from the surface, I don't
- 9:30Speaker 8: think that he would be saying like, this has to
- 9:32Speaker 8: be an extension.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 8: I think if you made it closer to putting him
- 9:37Speaker 8: in the echelon, you know, like, can we get him
- 9:39Speaker 8: to fifteen million this year or seventeen million and get
- 9:43Speaker 8: him in the neighborhood of the you know, the top
- 9:46Speaker 8: pass rushers.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I don't know if the Patriots want to do that.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I love your point from yesterday, Paul, just to him
- 9:50Speaker 4: being lock him up and he's a prime trade asset
- 9:53Speaker 4: if you need it and.
- 9:54Speaker 1: There yeah, yeah, yeah, because you know not that once
- 9:58Speaker 1: you once you give him the new deal and he
- 10:02Speaker 1: plays at in the first week, that money's guaranteed. So
- 10:05Speaker 1: it's not like, you know, oh, so glad you brought
- 10:09Speaker 1: that up, Fred. Yeah, the money's guaranteed. So if you
- 10:13Speaker 1: trade him halfway, yeah, you're gonna eat that money.
- 10:16Speaker 8: But well, no matter what, no, you don't eat the money.
- 10:19Speaker 8: The team gets the rest of.
- 10:20Speaker 1: It, right, right, So the other team will pay the
- 10:23Speaker 1: rest of it.
- 10:23Speaker 8: But your point about it, if you make the roster,
- 10:26Speaker 8: it's guaranteed, like this whole thing. Like I keep hearing
- 10:29Speaker 8: people talk about this for God show, like, well he
- 10:32Speaker 8: has no guaranteed money. Well is he gonna be on
- 10:35Speaker 8: the team. If he's on the team, it's guaranteed. He's
- 10:37Speaker 8: a veteran. Yeah, So all I had to do is
- 10:39Speaker 8: make the roster, and your your base salary becomes guaranteed
- 10:43Speaker 8: for the year even if they cut him.
- 10:44Speaker 1: That's right, So you know after you know, like you know.
- 10:47Speaker 8: During the season and then and they're not gonna cut him,
- 10:50Speaker 8: you know.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So basically, some one way or another, he's gonna get
- 10:54Speaker 1: his money.
- 10:55Speaker 8: Right, And so I just don't understand, like they don't
- 10:57Speaker 8: want to give him more money, right.
- 10:59Speaker 5: I just look at Judon and you know, Paul, you're
- 11:01Speaker 5: mentioning figures fifteen seventeen million. I just I feel like
- 11:06Speaker 5: that's a little bit pricey for for his aid.
- 11:09Speaker 1: He don't want to do it, I understand.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Just looking at some of the comps. Zadarius Smith is
- 11:13Speaker 5: a good player, three time pro bowler. He got a
- 11:16Speaker 5: two year twenty three million dollar deal in Cleveland as
- 11:18Speaker 5: a free agent. He's a thirty one going into age
- 11:21Speaker 5: thirty two season, you know, basically the same idea as
- 11:24Speaker 5: Matthew Judon. Judon maybe a little bit more in terms
- 11:27Speaker 5: of sack production, a little bit better, but overall, three
- 11:30Speaker 5: down players, edge guys getting into their thirties, and he's
- 11:34Speaker 5: making was that eleven and a half million a year?
- 11:37Speaker 5: Eleven eleven and a half. So if I'm the Patriots, like,
- 11:40Speaker 5: that's where I'm at with Matthew Judon. You know, if
- 11:42Speaker 5: he's expecting to get like Danielle Hunter money, who's four
- 11:45Speaker 5: years younger than he is, then he's crazy, like he's
- 11:47Speaker 5: not going to get that kind of contract.
- 11:48Speaker 1: But I just think a little bit of extending yourself
- 11:51Speaker 1: on the part of the Patriots might be good because
- 11:54Speaker 1: I think Judon makes the rest of the defense better.
- 11:58Speaker 1: You talk about complimentary defense. It makes the coverage better.
- 12:02Speaker 1: It helps Christian Barmore, it helps Ouche, it helps Anthony
- 12:06Speaker 1: Jennings be better. Because, let's face the Judea on drugs attention,
- 12:11Speaker 1: you have to game plan for Judah.
- 12:12Speaker 6: I agree with you, Fred, because when we were talking
- 12:14Speaker 6: to Jonathan Jones before camp, started. He talked about both
- 12:17Speaker 6: Devon Godshaw and Judon and he said, you know, it
- 12:20Speaker 6: all starts up front. If those guys are really productive upfront,
- 12:23Speaker 6: then we're able to get those takeaways in the backfield.
- 12:25Speaker 7: So when you don't have.
- 12:26Speaker 6: Guys like that that are rushing the quarterback and creating commotion,
- 12:30Speaker 6: it's hard for them to get those.
- 12:31Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a lot of It's the same conversations that
- 12:33Speaker 5: we have with receivers, right Like, if you have that
- 12:35Speaker 5: number one receiver who's drawing the attention of the number
- 12:38Speaker 5: one corner or a double team or something like that,
- 12:40Speaker 5: then the trickle down effect it has on everybody else
- 12:43Speaker 5: is significant. All of a sudden, your number two receivers
- 12:47Speaker 5: a little bit better and your number three receivers a
- 12:48Speaker 5: little bit better. It's the same thing with pass rushers,
- 12:51Speaker 5: of course, and Matthew Judon is one of those guys
- 12:53Speaker 5: that is a number one pass rusher on a team.
- 12:56Speaker 5: And that contract to Paul's you know figures that he
- 12:58Speaker 5: threw out You're starting and at least probably twelve and
- 13:02Speaker 5: a half million in north of that.
- 13:04Speaker 1: So like if it means an extra five million that
- 13:06Speaker 1: you really don't want to pay, but you have to
- 13:09Speaker 1: pay it just to keep him in the fold this
- 13:11Speaker 1: year and give you the flexibility at the trade deadline.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'd do it.
- 13:15Speaker 9: And that's why I do.
- 13:17Speaker 8: Like if I if the numbers are about an extension
- 13:21Speaker 8: and it's like you're asking for an AAV the next
- 13:23Speaker 8: three years to be up around seventeen million, I would
- 13:26Speaker 8: agree with Evan. Yeah, I would say that, you know,
- 13:28Speaker 8: like thirty three, thirty four, you're probably not going to
- 13:31Speaker 8: be worth it. But to me, there's value in giving
- 13:35Speaker 8: him a little bit more. Right now, you have the
- 13:37Speaker 8: money and you have the space to do it for
- 13:40Speaker 8: you know, just for this year, and then you know,
- 13:42Speaker 8: you revisit it later and see what happens.
- 13:44Speaker 1: See knowing the Patriots, it could be that the offer
- 13:50Speaker 1: was a lot of incentive so based on games played,
- 13:55Speaker 1: and that could be where the hold up is. That's
- 13:58Speaker 1: what Bill would have done.
- 13:59Speaker 5: He would have offered him an incentive package because he
- 14:02Speaker 5: only played three and a half games last year. From
- 14:05Speaker 5: Judon's perspective, it would be pretty easy to meet the
- 14:07Speaker 5: incentives because they're not going to be incredibly high.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And he's been very healthy through it.
- 14:11Speaker 5: Right, So if you said his is one of those
- 14:14Speaker 5: incentives can be you played in five games, right, that's
- 14:18Speaker 5: a very low bar, like he's going to reach that bar.
- 14:20Speaker 8: And you know what I don't like about that though,
- 14:21Speaker 8: and I hear a lot of people talking about it,
- 14:23Speaker 8: is Mike's point of making I think the Patriots would
- 14:27Speaker 8: like that on this year's cap that becomes not likely
- 14:29Speaker 8: to be earned because he only played three four years
- 14:32Speaker 8: last year.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Good point? Correct? Good point? Can we go back to
- 14:35Speaker 1: pen I.
- 14:35Speaker 8: Mean, and just to just to finish that, some people
- 14:38Speaker 8: might not know what I was talking about not likely
- 14:40Speaker 8: to be earned?
- 14:41Speaker 9: That incentive part would go on the following year's.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Cap, right, So there's likely and not likely. So if
- 14:46Speaker 1: it happened, well we got Miguil on the show, who's
- 14:49Speaker 1: over there? Cat knowledge? Just so people know, likely to
- 14:54Speaker 1: be earned is an incentive that happened the year before.
- 14:57Speaker 1: So if if the person attained that goal of the
- 14:59Speaker 1: year before, it becomes likely to be earned and it
- 15:02Speaker 1: counts toward this year's cap. If it's an incentive that
- 15:05Speaker 1: didn't happen the year before, you can push that to
- 15:08Speaker 1: next year's cap. And that's what Paul's talking about.
- 15:10Speaker 8: And in this case, and if Mike's point is accurate,
- 15:13Speaker 8: and they kind of want to get it off the cap. Now,
- 15:15Speaker 8: then I don't think, right likely I'm not likely to
- 15:18Speaker 8: be earned to make a lot of sense, right because
- 15:20Speaker 8: Evan's right, he's going to have a like, how can
- 15:23Speaker 8: you structure incentives that he's probably not going to earn
- 15:26Speaker 8: based on what he did last year?
- 15:27Speaker 1: Right? Right? I just think for me, unless it's based
- 15:30Speaker 1: on sacks or something like that, you know you could
- 15:33Speaker 1: do that.
- 15:33Speaker 8: But right, but what did he have like two or
- 15:35Speaker 8: three sacks last year? I mean, I can't imagine he
- 15:38Speaker 8: had too many?
- 15:38Speaker 4: And right country, Uh, I just I was gonna say
- 15:42Speaker 4: for me though, no matter what happens with Judah, is
- 15:44Speaker 4: I have long term concerns about Edge Rusher for this
- 15:47Speaker 4: team and really, you know, being able to bring past
- 15:50Speaker 4: rush juice. And I mean I I thought a little
- 15:52Speaker 4: bit of a historical context. And you know, you remember
- 15:55Speaker 4: oh seven, you know, Patriots defense granted getting.
- 15:58Speaker 1: A little older, but you had Vrabel.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Uh you know, you had Colvin, you had some actual
- 16:03Speaker 4: you know guys, and as those guys kind of faded out,
- 16:05Speaker 4: you hit and in between period of nine ten, you're
- 16:08Speaker 4: bringing back Tully, Banta Kine, You're hiring Derek Burgess. You're
- 16:11Speaker 4: just desperate to find an edge rusher. Until finally they
- 16:14Speaker 4: got Chandler Jones. They able to you know, Rob Nincovin,
- 16:17Speaker 4: she was able to emerge. They picked up you know,
- 16:18Speaker 4: guys like Mark Anderson.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I just Carter still that even then, it was a
- 16:24Speaker 1: year to year, right.
- 16:25Speaker 4: And then when when did they get back to the
- 16:26Speaker 4: Super Bowl when they finally found two guys that could
- 16:28Speaker 4: you know, play consistently, and I mean, she's that twenty fourteen.
- 16:32Speaker 4: I think Jones and Nikovich played close to every snap. Uh,
- 16:35Speaker 4: It's just you know, Judoon's on his way out one
- 16:37Speaker 4: way or another, and Ouch is on a one year deal.
- 16:39Speaker 4: We don't know what's going on with him. Jennings has
- 16:42Speaker 4: never been, you know, a pass rush juice guy.
- 16:44Speaker 1: You do love Barmore and he's gonna bring some and
- 16:46Speaker 1: that's very valuable. You can't discount that.
- 16:49Speaker 4: But having an impact edge rusher, you know, you look
- 16:51Speaker 4: at Gonzales, you look at the Safeties days locked up.
- 16:55Speaker 4: There's just some questions now at that front, especially.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I'm starly confused because today they're back to how they
- 17:02Speaker 1: normally do. They've done this every day would be afterwards
- 17:06Speaker 1: what they do after to walk backwards? Yeah they do.
- 17:08Speaker 1: You're okay, but.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Wait, wait till you to get into the twenty twenty
- 17:13Speaker 5: five draft. I have a little bit already because an
- 17:16Speaker 5: edge rusher class, the Georgia five, we're all going to
- 17:19Speaker 5: be talking about tackles.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I look, I look forward to that. Who who's the
- 17:22Speaker 1: Georgia kid, that's the one I was watching.
- 17:23Speaker 5: The defensive line in general and on the edge is
- 17:28Speaker 5: absolutely loaded this coming up class, so you'll have plenty of.
- 17:33Speaker 4: That'll be that'll be our fight socks offseason where you'll
- 17:35Speaker 4: be like, you go take your back, you take your pressure.
- 17:38Speaker 5: You talk about your Brial Peppers again for a second, though,
- 17:41Speaker 5: because that's who.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Could talk about his entire show.
- 17:45Speaker 1: We got you know step remember some little pup and
- 17:49Speaker 1: the step. I actually haven't seen him. I just heard
- 17:54Speaker 1: somebody that.
- 17:55Speaker 5: You know, that was my prime sweet spot for college
- 17:59Speaker 5: football interest. Oh yeah, and watching him at Michigan, Yeah,
- 18:02Speaker 5: you know, turning punts, returning punts, playing running back, you know,
- 18:06Speaker 5: playing all three phases. Just an absolute stud college player.
- 18:09Speaker 5: And he gets drafted and they Cleveland just completely misuses him.
- 18:13Speaker 5: They're putting him on a you know freaking China at
- 18:16Speaker 5: free safety. He's lining up like the All twenty two
- 18:18Speaker 5: doesn't even have him on the screen. And then he
- 18:21Speaker 5: comes here and and they put him you know where
- 18:23Speaker 5: it really the Giants started it, Like the Giants put
- 18:26Speaker 5: him in the right spot.
- 18:27Speaker 9: I was gonna say, he played well for the Giants
- 18:28Speaker 9: before he got there.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Yeah, and then and then he comes here and just
- 18:32Speaker 5: one of those guys that you you have to remember
- 18:34Speaker 5: that every once in a while there are some late
- 18:36Speaker 5: bloomers like that do come out of nowhere a few years.
- 18:39Speaker 1: He's a good player.
- 18:40Speaker 8: Yeah, And I don't have any problem with him in
- 18:43Speaker 8: Duggar as a tandem for the next three years. Like
- 18:45Speaker 8: that's good. They're good players.
- 18:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Usage is so important for so many of these guys.
- 18:51Speaker 5: We talk so much about the draft.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Patrick Shunn's a good example. That's a great example, Friday.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I mean, and that's you know, I'm not to say
- 18:57Speaker 4: that this is mccordy, Harmon and Chung, but you know
- 19:00Speaker 4: that's that's you talked about the core of the safety
- 19:03Speaker 4: group that really kind of led the way in the
- 19:05Speaker 4: in the twenty tens.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Uh. They've got a little bit of a you know,
- 19:08Speaker 1: a foundation there.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I just I think we're all wondering how did Jalen
- 19:11Speaker 4: Hawkins and maybe Martin map who, how do they fit
- 19:14Speaker 4: into the equation. And I mean Paul immediately you know,
- 19:17Speaker 4: pointed out, I mean, not not great for Martin mop who.
- 19:20Speaker 4: You know, if he's thinking that he's going to get
- 19:22Speaker 4: a real prime opportunity here, if he's going to get
- 19:24Speaker 4: an opportunity, he's going to have to.
- 19:26Speaker 8: You know, really earn it.
- 19:28Speaker 4: So tough, a little bit tough for him, you know,
- 19:30Speaker 4: Josh bloodsoe, those guys not any doors opening.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Keep working hard. Injuries happen. It's football, ye, you know,
- 19:39Speaker 1: some way, at some point you're going to get an
- 19:41Speaker 1: opportunity this year and you just have to take advantage it.
- 19:44Speaker 1: That you see Jabrill Peppers on your screen right now
- 19:47Speaker 1: if you're watching on your phone or smart TV. There
- 19:51Speaker 1: he is newly minted Jabrill Peppers. Is that a deuce
- 19:57Speaker 1: label that he's got on his shoulder? It's my guy? Yeah, yeah,
- 20:02Speaker 1: shout out.
- 20:04Speaker 7: Be sure to tell your son today.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Oh he he won't care.
- 20:07Speaker 7: He's got to get a photo with Pep.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Well, my wife and kids are coming in they for
- 20:13Speaker 4: family day, and they were like well, who should we
- 20:15Speaker 4: look for? And I said, if it's between zero and ten,
- 20:17Speaker 4: those are those are the prime kind of guys of interest,
- 20:21Speaker 4: right like Gonzales and may Polk and Baker a little
- 20:26Speaker 4: bit and bentleying off at Jude on a course.
- 20:29Speaker 1: It is certainly a beautiful day here at Jillette Stadium
- 20:32Speaker 1: at Une.
- 20:34Speaker 4: I don't know why they're not coming into the body
- 20:37Speaker 4: cabinet search, but hopefully.

- 25:25Speaker 3: This is Patriot's Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for deals,
- 25:30Speaker 3: buy a Toyota dot com.
- 25:34Speaker 1: All right, we are live from training camp. It's day
- 25:37Speaker 1: three and we're continuing our coverage here. The team is
- 25:41Speaker 1: now into their i'd say, offense, defense drills and screen.
- 25:48Speaker 8: Yeah, you've got a little pre practice walkthrough stuff. May Mike,
- 25:53Speaker 8: we've been gone. We went for a commercial. Can you
- 25:56Speaker 8: update everyone as to what Julius Jabrill Peppers did.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Yeah, he just he walked a little bit. It was
- 26:02Speaker 1: pretty great. Clapped. He pointed up to Patriots Unfiltered. You know,
- 26:08Speaker 1: shout out to us, my boy Blue. It's funny because Paul,
- 26:12Speaker 1: it seems like we always have somebody in our staff
- 26:15Speaker 1: who falls in love with the safety. Remember Andy Hart
- 26:17Speaker 1: and Jimmy Sanders, Oh yeah, oh.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Yeah, James Peppers at player, he was like the O
- 26:24Speaker 4: g Deron Harmon right, just kind of sit on the
- 26:26Speaker 4: back end.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know why. Why did he fall in
- 26:29Speaker 1: love with James Sanders the way?
- 26:30Speaker 4: The only thing I remember about him was a really
- 26:33Speaker 4: nice game sealing interception against Indy in like eight or nine.
- 26:38Speaker 8: Peppers is a better player than James.
- 26:40Speaker 5: Yes, he's got better apps to a little attendance update. Yeah,
- 26:44Speaker 5: I don't know if we said this before the break,
- 26:46Speaker 5: but no Christian Barmore or Marte Mapu to start practice.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Christian Barmore.
- 26:51Speaker 5: There's our port yesterday that he's under the weather, he's
- 26:53Speaker 5: feeling sick, so that that might explain his absence. No, Martinpu.
- 26:59Speaker 5: We did see it video Gibson, but not in uniform.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Kind of same routine for him.
- 27:03Speaker 8: He and Terrell Jennings, who's a rookie undrafted running back,
- 27:07Speaker 8: have been out here but not really doing anything. I
- 27:09Speaker 8: don't think either one of them had a helmet today.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Map Pho.
- 27:12Speaker 9: I will point out.
- 27:14Speaker 8: During the end of practice yesterday when they went to
- 27:16Speaker 8: the hills to do the conditioning runs, mob who stayed
- 27:19Speaker 8: up in the end zone.
- 27:20Speaker 1: He had one one of.
- 27:20Speaker 8: Those big, sort of extent, those medicine balls, and he
- 27:23Speaker 8: was kind of working by himself, like throwing the ball
- 27:27Speaker 8: up and down. So I don't know if maybe he
- 27:29Speaker 8: has a lower body injury that.
- 27:30Speaker 6: He's also one more quick housekeeping note on Pop Douglas,
- 27:35Speaker 6: who Drod Mayo confirmed during the press conference today said
- 27:38Speaker 6: he's working through something. It's not major and that's why
- 27:42Speaker 6: he's not participating in team drills.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Who was a hand?
- 27:45Speaker 8: Daniels called it a hand and listen, I don't know
- 27:48Speaker 8: what it is. I suggested yesterday that it had to
- 27:50Speaker 8: be something upper body because he looked he's been doing
- 27:53Speaker 8: all the running right and he looked good doing it.
- 27:56Speaker 8: But I would say, I would say that a hand
- 27:59Speaker 8: injury based on the amount of punts that he's caught
- 28:01Speaker 8: doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a fair point.
- 28:05Speaker 5: We were talking about this a little bit on Catch
- 28:07Speaker 5: twenty two, and Barth has an outside the box theory
- 28:10Speaker 5: that that they have some things planned for Pop Douglas
- 28:14Speaker 5: in terms of some of the motions and things that
- 28:16Speaker 5: they might be using with him, And I thought's the
- 28:18Speaker 5: best bar take every little susu.
- 28:24Speaker 8: Which they got a whole new offense to learn for
- 28:27Speaker 8: a second year player like this that I like, if
- 28:30Speaker 8: you want to tell me Marcus Jones, you want to
- 28:32Speaker 8: tell me they have some things in line for Marcus
- 28:34Speaker 8: Jones that maybe they're not going to let us see
- 28:36Speaker 8: that bad I could buy.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I I agree with you.
- 28:39Speaker 5: I don't see any reason why they would hold anybody
- 28:45Speaker 5: back in this new offense.
- 28:47Speaker 1: But well, they may not show us what they're doing
- 28:49Speaker 1: until we're not here.
- 28:52Speaker 8: You know, they're not going to hold hold him out.
- 28:55Speaker 1: No, not for that reason.
- 28:57Speaker 8: No, Drake, Well, Jake gets a round of applause.
- 29:01Speaker 4: Well, I think I think that this is this is
- 29:04Speaker 4: that's pretty good crowd today.
- 29:05Speaker 1: They do this.
- 29:06Speaker 8: Crowds much stronger today than either of the first item.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Still seems like half of them waiting to get in.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I don't know what.
- 29:12Speaker 9: There's a lot of people in the in that in
- 29:14Speaker 9: that uh.
- 29:15Speaker 7: Hey, guys, guys are checking out all the activations.
- 29:19Speaker 8: I just think there's a lot of people up there.
- 29:20Speaker 8: I don't think anybody's being held back.
- 29:22Speaker 1: No, you're right. I think there's a blood drive going.
- 29:26Speaker 1: There might be people lined up for the blood drive.
- 29:29Speaker 7: There's a lot of just some hard activations things for
- 29:32Speaker 7: the kids.
- 29:32Speaker 9: I'm willing to bleed for this team.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I give my blood for the.
- 29:35Speaker 7: New Joe backflip the crowd, all.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Right, you know?
- 29:41Speaker 4: Can I can I point out one quick, little funny
- 29:44Speaker 4: theme I've been picking up here over the course of
- 29:45Speaker 4: the ot as in camp is that is guys trying
- 29:48Speaker 4: different stuff like offensive lineman hopping and catching a punt
- 29:51Speaker 4: or you know, sometimes you just have the quarterbacks they're
- 29:53Speaker 4: running screenplays to themselves. There's just a lot of like
- 29:58Speaker 4: guys hopping into things occasion and doing drills that they
- 30:01Speaker 4: normally wouldn't be part of.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I don't know if that's part of the fun. Hey,
- 30:04Speaker 1: you try it.
- 30:05Speaker 4: I mean, I guess there's probably some value and as
- 30:07Speaker 4: a quarterback running the route of a screen and you
- 30:10Speaker 4: know kind of you know, doing it yourself and understanding
- 30:12Speaker 4: a little bit about what the receiver is going to
- 30:14Speaker 4: be going through in that situation.
- 30:15Speaker 1: But I don't know, just something that keeps poppular. It
- 30:17Speaker 1: did have a little fun yeah fun.
- 30:20Speaker 6: Did someone say today during the press conference that Marcus
- 30:22Speaker 6: and Christian Gonzalez were doing wide receiver drills.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I believe it. Yeah, So.
- 30:28Speaker 5: That was a question that was that they were doing
- 30:30Speaker 5: an open field tackling leverage drill. They're not tackling, they're
- 30:33Speaker 5: just setting up to tackle with the leverage, and all
- 30:37Speaker 5: the dbs were going through it because on an interception return,
- 30:40Speaker 5: they have to be ready to carry the football. So
- 30:42Speaker 5: they were doing wide receiver drills. They were They always
- 30:45Speaker 5: are involved in those types of drills, and that's just
- 30:48Speaker 5: so that if they do get a pick, they have
- 30:50Speaker 5: a feel for the open field and understand what they're.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Doing for the reckon. I noticed that yesterday, but I
- 30:55Speaker 1: didn't say it because I thought it was just normal
- 30:57Speaker 1: yeah stuff.
- 30:57Speaker 7: Yeah, So when the question was asked today, I was like, wait,
- 30:59Speaker 7: did I Yeah?
- 31:00Speaker 1: I think that the reporter who asked it was just
- 31:02Speaker 1: a little confused. That wasn't I don't want to call anybody.
- 31:08Speaker 9: It's a good thing.
- 31:08Speaker 8: I don't know who it was, because i'd let you know,
- 31:11Speaker 8: I'm kidding, all right.
- 31:15Speaker 5: The quarterbacks have been doing this thing with the net
- 31:17Speaker 5: though since the spring. I think we've shown it before,
- 31:20Speaker 5: but they they've been keeping score. They said, of well
- 31:25Speaker 5: who gets it?
- 31:26Speaker 1: Listen? I think you know it's it's you want to
- 31:29Speaker 1: see the footwork. You want to see them moving, but
- 31:32Speaker 1: if you're doing throw, it's you've got to be accurate,
- 31:34Speaker 1: and I think this kind of just enforces that. Yeah.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Another thing to douce his point about the guy's kind
- 31:41Speaker 5: of jumping in and having fun with it. Gid Mayo
- 31:44Speaker 5: said before practice as well that they now have a
- 31:46Speaker 5: player's lounge and they have ping pong table. He said,
- 31:51Speaker 5: I think he said there's a PlayStation in there, and
- 31:54Speaker 5: I actually thought, you know, Paul's shows are probably going
- 31:57Speaker 5: to make fun of it a little bit, but I
- 31:59Speaker 5: actually feel like it's it's a good thing because I
- 32:02Speaker 5: agree with exactly what he said, which was that when
- 32:04Speaker 5: you walked through the locker room last year, it was
- 32:06Speaker 5: a lot of guys sitting in their lockers on their phones,
- 32:09Speaker 5: just dead to the world and just on an island
- 32:12Speaker 5: by themselves. And he said that they wanted to create
- 32:15Speaker 5: this player's lounge to hopefully get guys to just hang
- 32:19Speaker 5: out with each other and have some team camaraderie games.
- 32:22Speaker 1: And you know, I've been.
- 32:23Speaker 5: Able to tour the Celtics facility, the Bruins facility in
- 32:27Speaker 5: the past, and they have players lounges in their facilities.
- 32:30Speaker 1: As well in the NFL. I mean that was part
- 32:32Speaker 1: of the survey that went around. The Patriots were behind
- 32:34Speaker 1: in those types of you know, creature features.
- 32:37Speaker 5: Yeah, so I can wholeheartedly confirm that I walked through
- 32:41Speaker 5: the locker room tomorrow and douce you guys are in
- 32:43Speaker 5: there as much as me and guys are on their phones.
- 32:46Speaker 5: Guys are you know, it was not a what they're
- 32:50Speaker 5: trying to create with the players lounge, you know, it
- 32:52Speaker 5: wasn't like that.
- 32:54Speaker 1: It did Male say, I stay away from that. I
- 32:56Speaker 1: don't know.
- 32:57Speaker 5: He said, it was a you know, someone asked him,
- 32:59Speaker 5: you know, who's the best ping pong player? And he said, honestly,
- 33:01Speaker 5: I don't know, because it's the players lond So I
- 33:03Speaker 5: try to give them that space and not go in there.
- 33:07Speaker 1: That's good. Web radio at Patriots dot com is the
- 33:09Speaker 1: email address. That's web radio at Patriots dot com. Alex
- 33:13Speaker 1: writes in with Pepper's coming back, I'm more confident we
- 33:17Speaker 1: could continue to run our three three five done defense. However,
- 33:22Speaker 1: with two big players still wanting contracts, do you think
- 33:25Speaker 1: it's more vital for running that defense? Who is more
- 33:28Speaker 1: vital for running that defense? Godshaw or Judon Judah three
- 33:33Speaker 1: three five.
- 33:34Speaker 5: Like, if we're talking about three three five base Nickel,
- 33:37Speaker 5: I would actually say probably Godshaw, because you need somebody
- 33:40Speaker 5: in the middle of the defense that's eating blocks in
- 33:42Speaker 5: the running game.
- 33:43Speaker 9: I think you can just put someone there Juda.
- 33:45Speaker 8: I think I agree with Mike that they don't really
- 33:47Speaker 8: have a guy like Judon.
- 33:48Speaker 5: Well, if you're talking about rushing the passer, sure, I
- 33:51Speaker 5: just think that actually that Jennings might have been a
- 33:54Speaker 5: better edgeestter than Judon was. Like Judon a run player, yeah, absolutely,
- 33:58Speaker 5: But if you're talking about playing they're three street five
- 34:01Speaker 5: on first down.
- 34:02Speaker 8: I'm talking about the seventy five percent of the place
- 34:04Speaker 8: that Nickel are going to try to move the ball
- 34:07Speaker 8: and not running into the middle of the line. If
- 34:09Speaker 8: you're running, if it's just a pure run situation, Godshaw
- 34:12Speaker 8: by far, like he's the best run stuffing interior defensive
- 34:15Speaker 8: lineman they have.
- 34:16Speaker 1: But you're not.
- 34:16Speaker 8: Yeah, and you're probably not rolling out of two three
- 34:18Speaker 8: five play on first down. You know, I'm worried more
- 34:21Speaker 8: about the other two downs.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Ruth from the Boston Renegades emails us and wants us
- 34:26Speaker 1: to give a shout out, which I will that they're
- 34:29Speaker 1: in the championship game again. Nice this weekend Saturday on
- 34:34Speaker 1: ESPN two. So the Boston Renegades are our local pro
- 34:41Speaker 1: women's professional football.
- 34:43Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 34:43Speaker 9: So they have a dynasty.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Yeah, they talk about dynasties. How many times in a
- 34:47Speaker 1: row have they won? Like at least six?
- 34:49Speaker 7: I think six?
- 34:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and in the past we've flown them out actually
- 34:52Speaker 1: to their championship game.
- 34:54Speaker 6: So you don't actually came out to practice wearing a
- 34:56Speaker 6: Boston Renegade shirt.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Nice. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, that's cool. So good luck to
- 35:00Speaker 1: them this Saturday. It's on ESPN two. If you want
- 35:02Speaker 1: to catch it, check your local listenings for time. It's
- 35:05Speaker 1: bustin bust. Check you the local lists.
- 35:09Speaker 4: What's the Boston Boston women's sports you know, the Boston
- 35:12Speaker 4: women's hockey team, the p WHL Man of the finals.
- 35:15Speaker 1: So you know, keep building up.
- 35:17Speaker 8: Yeah, my Northeastern girl almost carried them to a title.
- 35:20Speaker 1: There was that Elena Mueller. Elena Mueller.
- 35:23Speaker 8: She she scored the overtime winner in Game four to
- 35:25Speaker 8: send it to a deciding fifty game.
- 35:27Speaker 1: One of our former webmasters is part of the crew
- 35:31Speaker 1: for the hockey team that was correct Faith.
- 35:34Speaker 7: And Faith also works for the Boston Reggates.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's all together. We brought it off full circle. Okay, yeah,
- 35:41Speaker 1: Ben and Hershey Pennsylvania, Hershey, Park, Paul, you've been there.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Take good take, good take. He writes. In Judeon's opinion,
- 35:50Speaker 1: I want to play here forever. I don't want to
- 35:52Speaker 1: be traded. I'm unhappy with my contract. I plan on playing.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Those opinions are only possible because there is now separation
- 36:00Speaker 1: of football and business. Judon seems to be happy to
- 36:03Speaker 1: play for coach Mayo while unhappy with Wolf in the
- 36:06Speaker 1: front office. This dynamic was impossible for twenty years while
- 36:10Speaker 1: Belichick was both coach and front office. Previous contract disputes
- 36:14Speaker 1: will Fork, Mankins, Moss, Welk Or to leave, et cetera,
- 36:17Speaker 1: may have been easier if they weren't negotiating with their
- 36:20Speaker 1: head football coach. It's a refreshing change. Kudos to coach
- 36:23Speaker 1: Mayo and the Craft for having the vision to understand
- 36:26Speaker 1: the modern NFL. That's what I mean. I think it's
- 36:30Speaker 1: it's a take. I think it's a take.
- 36:31Speaker 4: I mean I think it's actually a pretty good point.
- 36:33Speaker 4: I mean, the you know, it's just Bill is all
- 36:35Speaker 4: wrapped into one.
- 36:36Speaker 1: So anything. You know, it's easy for Girod to just
- 36:38Speaker 1: be like, hey.
- 36:38Speaker 4: You can play good cop now yeah, not my job,
- 36:41Speaker 4: you can, you know. And Elliott what we haven't seen
- 36:42Speaker 4: or heard from him.
- 36:43Speaker 9: I mean, what happens if they disagree?
- 36:45Speaker 1: Oh drat and yep, well, based off like every other team,
- 36:49Speaker 1: they work it out based.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Off their release from the organization. Elliot Wolf has final
- 36:53Speaker 5: say on the roster.
- 36:55Speaker 8: Correct, So good point, Devin. If they disagree, then we
- 36:58Speaker 8: got a problem. Elliott Wolf is going to make the
- 37:00Speaker 8: decision and we have problems.
- 37:02Speaker 1: But isn't that the same for every team, Paul, Not
- 37:05Speaker 1: for twenty plus years, but every other team unless you
- 37:08Speaker 1: have a guy who is like.
- 37:10Speaker 9: Not every team has a GM with the final say.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Somebody has the final say coach, right.
- 37:14Speaker 9: So there's no disagreement. The coach has say over it.
- 37:18Speaker 1: It would be as it could be a disagreement with
- 37:20Speaker 1: whoever the GM is.
- 37:21Speaker 7: So okay, right for a good example, who.
- 37:23Speaker 8: But the coach is the one coaching the players. So
- 37:26Speaker 8: it's not an issue. If Mayo wants a guy that
- 37:29Speaker 8: Wolf doesn't, that's an issue.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Well, I think it's an issue either way. I mean,
- 37:34Speaker 1: it's a disagreement it's not. It may not be the same,
- 37:37Speaker 1: but you can still have to.
- 37:38Speaker 8: Don't know how they won six titles doing it that
- 37:40Speaker 8: archaic way, but I mean it's amazing.
- 37:43Speaker 7: So who do you think has respect? Who do you
- 37:45Speaker 7: think has final say? In like an Ayuk situation, do
- 37:48Speaker 7: you think it's final?
- 37:49Speaker 1: Say? Is Kyle Shanahan? Okay?
- 37:51Speaker 4: I mean I I think Paul is right to point
- 37:53Speaker 4: out the potential flaw in the system. I don't think
- 37:55Speaker 4: any system any either way you do it, there's potential flaws, right,
- 37:59Speaker 4: you know. I mean I think Gerond and Elliott have
- 38:02Speaker 4: been up front of him.
- 38:04Speaker 1: It's about whoever's making the final decision makes the right decisions.
- 38:07Speaker 1: That's all. It is.
- 38:09Speaker 8: The way that with My problem wasn't that Belichick had
- 38:12Speaker 8: all the power. My problem was Belichick's decisions, I thought exactly.
- 38:16Speaker 8: I thought the last five, six, seven years, I think
- 38:20Speaker 8: that he showed signs of making some poor personnel decisions.
- 38:24Speaker 8: It wasn't that he had final Like I don't understand
- 38:27Speaker 8: all of this, like differences in a holdout.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Okay, look at Joey, look at Alex Korra with the
- 38:33Speaker 1: Red Sox. He's he the players love playing for him. Right,
- 38:37Speaker 1: he doesn't make the final decisions. I think that helps
- 38:40Speaker 1: him in the.
- 38:42Speaker 9: Clubhouse because it helped the team.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I don't I'm not saying that, but I just that's
- 38:46Speaker 1: not what he's saying. But I'm not That's not what
- 38:48Speaker 1: the email was saying either.
- 38:49Speaker 9: He just sounded like he did.
- 38:51Speaker 8: I I apologize if that's not what he was saying.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I thought that's what Maybe I took it the wrong way,
- 38:55Speaker 1: but I take it that the guys are not unhappy
- 38:58Speaker 1: with Mayo.
- 38:59Speaker 5: What did you say, Mcker commerce, Yeah, it's they can
- 39:03Speaker 5: play a role of good cop, back cop, right, like
- 39:06Speaker 5: Gerard can be the player's coach, and Elliott can be
- 39:09Speaker 5: the one that's strict about the contracts and the money.
- 39:11Speaker 1: And I can see how that can be.
- 39:13Speaker 8: And if you're asking me if the players like Mayle
- 39:16Speaker 8: more than they liked Belichick, I'm going to probably guess
- 39:18Speaker 8: without knowing that ninety nine percent will say yes.
- 39:21Speaker 1: At least for now.
- 39:22Speaker 8: I don't know if that's good or bad.
- 39:24Speaker 1: We'll see in six months what they say. Yeah, I
- 39:27Speaker 1: think I think, at the end of the day, the
- 39:29Speaker 1: modern athlete, and this is probably not new, I think
- 39:32Speaker 1: all athletes appreciate it's transparency the modern athlete. Just be
- 39:36Speaker 1: level with me, tell me what's going on. Don't don't
- 39:39Speaker 1: screw around with me. I want to know what you
- 39:42Speaker 1: really feel. So that's if Gerard loses players, that'll be
- 39:49Speaker 1: how he loses them, if they don't feel like you know,
- 39:51Speaker 1: my coach is upfront with me.
- 39:53Speaker 8: Yeah, and I'm but if he was, I thought he
- 39:56Speaker 8: was suggesting this is a much better way to run
- 39:58Speaker 8: an organization in the modern aw Like that's what I
- 40:01Speaker 8: took exception to, not the all the things that he said,
- 40:04Speaker 8: why I think were factual. But I also don't think
- 40:07Speaker 8: that it's I don't really consider like the whole thing
- 40:13Speaker 8: that it was Bill.
- 40:13Speaker 1: It made it harder to Bill just.
- 40:15Speaker 8: Made decisions, Like I think that he made a good
- 40:18Speaker 8: decision by sort of re upping a lot of the
- 40:22Speaker 8: guys that he did early, like Mike Rabel and Jarvis
- 40:24Speaker 8: Green and Richard Seymour, you know, and you know it
- 40:27Speaker 8: made some bad decisions lately of like reupping Devon Godshaw
- 40:32Speaker 8: last year. Like I heard someone say today that the
- 40:36Speaker 8: amount of guys that they've re signed with a year early,
- 40:39Speaker 8: that never happened in twenty years.
- 40:41Speaker 1: It just happened last year. They just did it.
- 40:43Speaker 8: Last year with Godshaw, Right, they do it a lot like.
- 40:46Speaker 8: They do that a lot like. My difference is I
- 40:49Speaker 8: think that they did it with guys that deserved it
- 40:52Speaker 8: in the past, and not necessarily as much in the draft,
- 40:56Speaker 8: which Mike hammers.
- 40:57Speaker 9: The draft, And I totally agree with this point.
- 41:00Speaker 8: They're in the situation they are personnel wise now because
- 41:03Speaker 8: they've had really spotty drafting for much of the last five, six,
- 41:07Speaker 8: seven years.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Yea.
- 41:08Speaker 5: And they the guys that they're giving contracts to, which
- 41:12Speaker 5: is I think another point we've made. It's mostly second
- 41:15Speaker 5: contracts you're not talking about. You know, at the end
- 41:18Speaker 5: their bill is giving extensions to Godshaw, DeVante Parker, you know,
- 41:23Speaker 5: guys that are just another one they're going to one.
- 41:26Speaker 8: Like you imagine saying they haven't done that in twenty years.
- 41:28Speaker 8: They just did it twice last year.
- 41:30Speaker 5: Right, just with the wrong guys. One hundred percent agree.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Now.
- 41:32Speaker 5: The only other thing I would say about the whole
- 41:34Speaker 5: power structure is that and mister Crapt has talked about
- 41:38Speaker 5: this and in the post you know Bill times here,
- 41:42Speaker 5: there's so.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Few guys that have earned the right to be.
- 41:46Speaker 5: I agree with that, So it's not frequent around the
- 41:49Speaker 5: league because you're not going to give, you know, for
- 41:52Speaker 5: a Dan Campbell to pre control of the Detroit Lions. Now,
- 41:56Speaker 5: there are some coaches that do have final say because
- 41:59Speaker 5: they do have that chops. Kyle Shanahan is one of them, and.
- 42:03Speaker 8: Another, but that's those are a few and far between
- 42:06Speaker 8: two because those are great. Those are great scenarios too,
- 42:09Speaker 8: because because I do think that like and I think
- 42:13Speaker 8: Seattle had a similar situation for a lot of years
- 42:16Speaker 8: with Carolyn Schneider. I think it's a great relationship between
- 42:19Speaker 8: Lynch and Shanahan, and I think the same thing with
- 42:22Speaker 8: Kansas City with Reed and uh Like. I just think
- 42:26Speaker 8: that someone has to have the final say, and I'd
- 42:29Speaker 8: rather be the coach. But the ideal situation is not
- 42:33Speaker 8: like one all mighty power like Bill had. That's I
- 42:36Speaker 8: don't think that's the ideal situation. I think that I
- 42:39Speaker 8: think it's better to have two guys, but I think
- 42:41Speaker 8: the coach needs to have more control.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Now.
- 42:43Speaker 8: I think Mayo will eventually get that. I think right
- 42:46Speaker 8: now he hasn't earned it. He's content ready for that,
- 42:48Speaker 8: He's content to let let the you know, others do that.
- 42:51Speaker 1: But but I do think that regardless of who has
- 42:54Speaker 1: the final say, whether it's the fun office as a coach,
- 42:57Speaker 1: it's important for once the decision is there can be disagreements,
- 43:01Speaker 1: but once the decision is made that they get on
- 43:03Speaker 1: the same page so that there's no back door. Hey,
- 43:08Speaker 1: you know I wanted to sign you, but you know
- 43:10Speaker 1: so and so you know you can't have that. I
- 43:12Speaker 1: can't have, right right, Nate from or Nat from Santa
- 43:18Speaker 1: Cruz by way of Cambridge living in Los Angeles for
- 43:20Speaker 1: the summer rights In yesterday, Evan said nobody cares about
- 43:23Speaker 1: Jacoby Brissette with a definitiveposity and ordered on know it
- 43:27Speaker 1: all territory. I disagree. Some of US fans just want
- 43:31Speaker 1: to see our team win on Sunday. Call it the
- 43:33Speaker 1: kid in me or bad investor in me. I don't care.
- 43:37Speaker 1: I couldn't even root for the team to lose for
- 43:39Speaker 1: draft position last year, So yes, I care what Jacoby
- 43:42Speaker 1: Brissette looks like in camp. I hope he's lights out
- 43:45Speaker 1: the team and they win eleven games in a road
- 43:48Speaker 1: playoff game. If Jacoby is winning, then let Drake sit.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I'd rather see Jacoby win games than Drake lose them.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Regarding Evan, I think he's one of the best in
- 43:57Speaker 1: the business, an upstanding guy, and an incredible part of
- 44:00Speaker 1: the modern PU team. So there you go, thank you.
- 44:03Speaker 1: I appreciate it.
- 44:04Speaker 5: I the one point I was just making about Jacoby Brissett,
- 44:07Speaker 5: and I did say it a little bit more pointed
- 44:10Speaker 5: than I meant. But the big thing is is that
- 44:13Speaker 5: if Jacoby Brissett is going to start the year as
- 44:15Speaker 5: the quarterback, this is our time to watch Drake May
- 44:18Speaker 5: play football. Like we could go two months into the season,
- 44:21Speaker 5: three months in the season, we don't get to watch
- 44:23Speaker 5: practice during the regular season, so he's going to be
- 44:25Speaker 5: doing everything at that point behind closed doors. So as
- 44:28Speaker 5: much as Jacoby Brissett might be the starter, and I'm
- 44:31Speaker 5: not saying that he's irrelevant, I'm just saying that right now,
- 44:34Speaker 5: this time of year is one hundred percent about Drake
- 44:37Speaker 5: May and what he's doing in these practices because Jacoby
- 44:41Speaker 5: is going to play in the games, so he's gonna
- 44:43Speaker 5: We're gonna have opportunities to talk about Jacoby Brissett for now.
- 44:46Speaker 1: This is Drake May show right now, and you can't
- 44:49Speaker 1: argue with that. I mean, let's face it, they again,
- 44:51Speaker 1: they drafted this guy third overall to be the future.
- 44:55Speaker 1: That's what it's all about.
- 44:56Speaker 8: This was to make this situation a little bit different
- 44:59Speaker 8: and a little bit tougher navigate for Gerard Mayo in company, because.
- 45:03Speaker 1: You know a lot of people point to.
- 45:05Speaker 8: Those Green Bay situations and even Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, like
- 45:11Speaker 8: in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers could sit and develop and
- 45:14Speaker 8: get all of the attention in training camp as a
- 45:16Speaker 8: rookie because you didn't.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Have to worry about what Brett Favre was doing.
- 45:20Speaker 8: He was there for fifteen years and he's a Hall
- 45:22Speaker 8: of Famer and he knows what he's doing. The same
- 45:24Speaker 8: thing when Jordan Love came in and Aaron Rodgers was
- 45:27Speaker 8: at the tail end of his Packers' career, you didn't
- 45:29Speaker 8: have to worry about getting out to speed if you
- 45:31Speaker 8: want to have a semblance of success. Jacoby Brissett needs
- 45:36Speaker 8: to get a lot of work in this training camp
- 45:38Speaker 8: and get ready to go with the whole new team.
- 45:40Speaker 8: I understand he has some familiarity with the offense, but let's.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Face it, it's.
- 45:45Speaker 9: A new offense too, right.
- 45:46Speaker 8: He's got to refamiliarize himself with an offense that he
- 45:49Speaker 8: was in two years ago exactly, and you know they
- 45:52Speaker 8: don't have the luxury of just all development for may
- 45:54Speaker 8: That's that's a hard needle ofok threat, Drake may is
- 45:57Speaker 8: not the only pe person you need to evaluate and
- 46:01Speaker 8: you know on this team, whether it's during training camp
- 46:04Speaker 8: or once the games start for real, you got to
- 46:07Speaker 8: see what the rest of your team looks like, you know.
- 46:09Speaker 9: So that's why it's hard.
- 46:11Speaker 5: Yeah to me, this is the in the early stages
- 46:14Speaker 5: of this era with Mayo. This is going to be
- 46:17Speaker 5: the hardest thing he's going to have to navigate because
- 46:20Speaker 5: when we get into the season, if they're zero and two,
- 46:22Speaker 5: they're one and four. Every single Wednesday when we see
- 46:26Speaker 5: him for the first time to start the new week,
- 46:29Speaker 5: when is Drake coming?
- 46:30Speaker 1: Well, which quarterback operates the team best? You know? Because
- 46:34Speaker 1: the rest of that you owe it to the rest
- 46:36Speaker 1: of the team to have somebody under center who who
- 46:38Speaker 1: knows what he's doing, you know, and whoever does that
- 46:41Speaker 1: best should play.
- 46:42Speaker 5: And that's part of the reason why I feel maybe
- 46:46Speaker 5: a little bit more strongly about him starting early or
- 46:49Speaker 5: starting week one, because I don't want that distraction lingering
- 46:54Speaker 5: all over the team for eight weeks that behind closed doors,
- 46:58Speaker 5: all these reporters that we work with, they're all gonna
- 47:01Speaker 5: be trying to figure out how.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Drake May looks at practice.
- 47:05Speaker 5: They're all gonna be having conversations with players and off
- 47:08Speaker 5: to the side things like that, trying to dig up
- 47:10Speaker 5: you know what's he looked like behind the scenes, and
- 47:13Speaker 5: it's just gonna be this whole elephant hanging over the
- 47:17Speaker 5: entire team until it's Drake May's team, including a first
- 47:20Speaker 5: year head coach who's never done it before that's now
- 47:22Speaker 5: going to have to feel these questions about it. And
- 47:25Speaker 5: as much as he was more experienced in it, I
- 47:28Speaker 5: there were mistakes made by by Belichick when it came
- 47:31Speaker 5: to the mac Jones in this whole situation with Bailey Zappy,
- 47:34Speaker 5: and it's kind of similar. It's not exactly the same,
- 47:37Speaker 5: but it's kind of similar where we would go into
- 47:40Speaker 5: the week not knowing who the starting quarterback was and
- 47:42Speaker 5: it was crazy, yeah.
- 47:43Speaker 7: And the team didn't even know it was. We didn't
- 47:46Speaker 7: know that, And.
- 47:47Speaker 5: They're not gonna I don't think he's gonna publicly come
- 47:50Speaker 5: out and say we're going with Jakobe through six weeks.
- 47:53Speaker 1: So we're going through Jacoba through eight weeks. So it's
- 47:55Speaker 1: gonna be.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Every single week that they're gonna have this this conversation
- 47:59Speaker 5: about you know what is it time for Drake and
- 48:01Speaker 5: it's gonna go until he plays.
- 48:03Speaker 1: How do you.
- 48:04Speaker 6: Figure out though, like from an owner's perspective, Like you
- 48:07Speaker 6: hear Robert Kraft talking about how he wants his team
- 48:10Speaker 6: to get back in the playoffs and win a playoff game.
- 48:13Speaker 6: How do you do that without like how do you
- 48:17Speaker 6: do that and develop your quarterback at the same time,
- 48:19Speaker 6: Because it's like, you want to start Jacoby Brissett so
- 48:21Speaker 6: that you can win some games to get to the playoffs,
- 48:23Speaker 6: as you know, Robert Kraft wants us to get back there,
- 48:25Speaker 6: but then also you need to develop your quarterback of
- 48:27Speaker 6: the future too.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's like what if.
- 48:29Speaker 6: You do start off you know, six and one, do
- 48:33Speaker 6: you want to put him in or do you want
- 48:35Speaker 6: to try to get to the playoffs?
- 48:36Speaker 1: When was then you do time? Robert Kraft said that
- 48:40Speaker 1: that was two years. Yeah, he'd say he didn't say it.
- 48:43Speaker 5: Yeah, this offseason the Matra and Mao said it the
- 48:46Speaker 5: other day on Tuesday. Is more about foundation, Like let's
- 48:49Speaker 5: lay a solid foundation in year one. I don't think
- 48:52Speaker 5: he's expecting playoffs or anything like.
- 48:54Speaker 1: That as of right now.
- 48:55Speaker 5: But it's just it's gonna be something that's gonna hang
- 48:59Speaker 5: over the team until they turn it over to Drake,
- 49:02Speaker 5: of whether or not they're making the right decision to
- 49:05Speaker 5: sit in you know, white whatever. And the one example
- 49:08Speaker 5: I can think of where a team had some success
- 49:11Speaker 5: and then they changed quarterbacks with Miami into it. You know,
- 49:14Speaker 5: Fitzpatrick had them playing okay, plus five hundred football and
- 49:19Speaker 5: they had a plan and they stuck to it and
- 49:21Speaker 5: they went to Tua regardless of and at the time.
- 49:24Speaker 8: And contrary to popular opinion, they continued to play plus
- 49:29Speaker 8: five hundred football.
- 49:30Speaker 1: At the time though. But there was there was some
- 49:32Speaker 1: hostility at the time.
- 49:34Speaker 9: Yeah, there was some veterans. There was some veterans that
- 49:36Speaker 9: were unhappy.
- 49:36Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, and didn't they didn't to play BA at
- 49:38Speaker 6: one point, and they put Fitzpatrick back in.
- 49:40Speaker 8: At the end of He got yanked in a game
- 49:42Speaker 8: I believe in Denver and got hurt in the game
- 49:45Speaker 8: against San Francisco. I might have that backwards, but yes, yes,
- 49:49Speaker 8: but he came in and won some games. Now, he
- 49:51Speaker 8: wasn't responsible for them winning games.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Yeap.
- 49:53Speaker 8: He didn't play all that well in some of those
- 49:55Speaker 8: games that they won, but they had planned. They had
- 49:58Speaker 8: a plan, like they wanted to get him, and they
- 50:00Speaker 8: didn't really care if they were you know, if they
- 50:03Speaker 8: were going to go nine and eight make the playoffs,
- 50:05Speaker 8: or go eight to nine and not make the playoffs.
- 50:07Speaker 8: It didn't that was secondary to them getting the quarterback
- 50:10Speaker 8: red and I think that's the case here.
- 50:12Speaker 1: I would imagine.
- 50:12Speaker 5: Yeah, And there's a lot of baggage with the Brian
- 50:14Speaker 5: Forlorn situation that's unrelated to that, But at the time,
- 50:18Speaker 5: it definitely was something that a lot of the veterans
- 50:20Speaker 5: in the locker room in Miami were questioning playing well
- 50:23Speaker 5: or winning with Fitzpatrick. You know why, I'd understand you
- 50:27Speaker 5: drafted this guy. It's a tough threat, Yeah, exactly.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Tenant Las Vegas rights and Drake May seems to have
- 50:33Speaker 1: all the attributes to become an elite quarterback size, arm strength, intelligence,
- 50:37Speaker 1: thank you Giants, and hard Knot's running ability, work ethic.
- 50:40Speaker 1: When I read or hears some pundit's question is potential.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Their criticism seems to be based on his lack of
- 50:45Speaker 1: extensive college experience, a radic second year performance and his
- 50:49Speaker 1: bad footwork and accuracy. What do you think could hold
- 50:52Speaker 1: may back from becoming very good or even a league
- 50:54Speaker 1: too many interceptions, in ability to read defenses, and ability
- 50:58Speaker 1: to handle the faster speed. Yea, he lists a whole
- 51:01Speaker 1: bunch of.
- 51:01Speaker 8: Decision making process. He don't know about how he's going
- 51:04Speaker 8: to process.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like it's to me, it's it's more
- 51:08Speaker 5: and it's I guess it's kind of semantics, but like
- 51:10Speaker 5: it's like work ethic, right, Like it's is he is
- 51:13Speaker 5: he going to put in the time to master those
- 51:16Speaker 5: types of things that you guys are talking about, Because
- 51:18Speaker 5: it's not going to be that he's throwing picks because
- 51:20Speaker 5: he's short army throws and he can't get the ball there.
- 51:23Speaker 5: It's going to be because he's not reading defense as well.
- 51:25Speaker 5: And I thought about this yesterday and Patrick Mahomes was
- 51:29Speaker 5: on something maybe a while ago now, and he said
- 51:33Speaker 5: that his first year as the starter, not his rookie year,
- 51:35Speaker 5: but his second year in the league, he still didn't
- 51:37Speaker 5: know how to read defenses properly. He still didn't know
- 51:41Speaker 5: how to do it, and he won m VP of
- 51:43Speaker 5: the league.
- 51:43Speaker 8: That's getting added to my list right, if you played
- 51:46Speaker 8: him his first year, he would have known how to
- 51:47Speaker 8: say defense.
- 51:52Speaker 1: That we talk about and always keeping receipts.
- 51:55Speaker 5: Maybe we overblow some of that stuff a little bit
- 51:58Speaker 5: because if you have look, he's not gonna have Patrick
- 52:01Speaker 5: Mahomes level physical talent, but if you have the physical talent,
- 52:04Speaker 5: then you can just kind of go out there and
- 52:06Speaker 5: play football. And a lot of these guys just survive
- 52:08Speaker 5: on that, and maybe Drake is one of those types
- 52:10Speaker 5: of guys.
- 52:11Speaker 1: I think.
- 52:11Speaker 4: I think there's another element too that's just an intangible
- 52:14Speaker 4: and it's when the pressure's on, when you need that drive,
- 52:18Speaker 4: time's running out, are you at your best?
- 52:20Speaker 1: Are you? I mean?
- 52:20Speaker 4: And that's what made Tom Brady just so special was that,
- 52:24Speaker 4: regardless of physical talent or processing, when the game was
- 52:27Speaker 4: on the line many many, many more times than not,
- 52:31Speaker 4: he was going to put you in position to win.
- 52:32Speaker 4: And that's just something that there's no way to really measure.
- 52:34Speaker 4: There's no way to know. I mean, even with Mac,
- 52:37Speaker 4: how many you know game winning and we talked about
- 52:39Speaker 4: it all the time. You can't come back once they're down,
- 52:41Speaker 4: it's it's kind of over. So you know, just would
- 52:43Speaker 4: love to see him even if he's had an up
- 52:45Speaker 4: and down kind of day and you're not feeling like
- 52:48Speaker 4: but it comes down to the end and he's on
- 52:50Speaker 4: when it counts, Like, that's worth a lot.
- 52:52Speaker 5: That's exactly what I was getting at too. It's like,
- 52:54Speaker 5: to me, it's not about is he going to be
- 52:56Speaker 5: able to read a defense? Like he'll learn how to
- 52:58Speaker 5: read defenses. It's gonna be the intent is he is
- 53:02Speaker 5: his work ethic behind the scenes. One of her needs?
- 53:04Speaker 1: Is he a leader?
- 53:05Speaker 5: Like the last guy here was not somebody that people
- 53:08Speaker 5: were following, right, So like, is he gonna be one
- 53:10Speaker 5: of those types of guys that does all those things
- 53:13Speaker 5: that made Brady great, you know?
- 53:15Speaker 1: And he does that at a high level. Yeah, Brad.
- 53:17Speaker 1: In the Eastern Shore right sin Web Radio at Patriots
- 53:20Speaker 1: dot Com, I noticed that Godshaw is wearing a red
- 53:23Speaker 1: sweatshirt under his uniform, just like Judon. Are they showing
- 53:26Speaker 1: solidarity together or is he riding Judon's coattails trying to
- 53:30Speaker 1: get noticed for an extension. I would give jude On
- 53:34Speaker 1: an extension, but I do not see the need to
- 53:36Speaker 1: give Godshaw a big extension. Strong and fast is replacing
- 53:39Speaker 1: big and slow. Today's NFL also, who is eighty two
- 53:43Speaker 1: on offense appears to be a wide receiver. The number
- 53:45Speaker 1: is not on the website's list of players. Jackson, Why
- 53:49Speaker 1: is he not on the website. He's on the website.
- 53:51Speaker 9: It's on the roster.
- 53:53Speaker 5: Yeah, Gota have worn the red sieves before, so I
- 53:57Speaker 5: would actually say that it's it's probably him taking a
- 54:00Speaker 5: page out of Judeon's book. Judah likes to do it
- 54:03Speaker 5: to get the sweat on and he just likes the
- 54:05Speaker 5: feel of it. Maybe, so maybe gotcha tried it out
- 54:08Speaker 5: one day and decide.
- 54:09Speaker 1: If you liked it too. So you'll notice that you're
- 54:11Speaker 1: looking at us instead of the field. That we have
- 54:13Speaker 1: to turn our cameras for this portion of training camp,
- 54:16Speaker 1: so we'll do our best to let you know what
- 54:19Speaker 1: we're seeing.
- 54:20Speaker 8: At the top of the you know, the show, we
- 54:22Speaker 8: talked about the attendance. Just to clean a little thing up.
- 54:26Speaker 8: Barmore and Mop who were two guys that we did
- 54:28Speaker 8: not see. About a half hour into practice, they both
- 54:30Speaker 8: came out. They don't do not look like they're doing
- 54:32Speaker 8: much of anything. I don't know if you guys have
- 54:35Speaker 8: they just watching their positions, but they are both out here.
- 54:40Speaker 9: No helmets on for either one of them that I've seen.
- 54:43Speaker 8: I know mop who didn't have one on when I
- 54:45Speaker 8: was watching him. Barbo is kind of down the other
- 54:49Speaker 8: end of the field now, so he's just kind of
- 54:50Speaker 8: doing that Barmore the Barmore shimming, just like they're just.
- 54:53Speaker 5: Kind of mentally picking in practice.
- 54:55Speaker 8: So they clearly are dealing with some you know, I
- 54:58Speaker 8: know what Barmore's talked about and ill miss of some sort.
- 55:02Speaker 9: I don't know what moblu situation is.
- 55:03Speaker 4: I love that saying he's dealing with something. Don't you
- 55:05Speaker 4: feel like every day in your life you're dealing with something?
- 55:08Speaker 1: Yeah? Will it teach you?
- 55:11Speaker 7: I will say too. With Gotscha yesterday he didn't have
- 55:14Speaker 7: a helmet with him. Did he today he actually does.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Yeah, he's been doing a little bit.
- 55:17Speaker 8: Yeah, he has been doing a little bit.
- 55:19Speaker 5: Check down City, I have a hitch and a little
- 55:23Speaker 5: checkdown to the tight end Mitchell Wilcox, who's been pretty involved,
- 55:28Speaker 5: I would say more than I I thought he would be.
- 55:31Speaker 4: It's the latest in a long line of why or
- 55:33Speaker 4: tight ends you can't remember to wear eighty seven?
- 55:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that's also that's another one, like maybe like that's
- 55:39Speaker 5: above thirty two for me, take eighty seven out of
- 55:42Speaker 5: the rotation, please, Yeah, but you.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Know eighty seven took himself out of the rotation'd when
- 55:48Speaker 1: he went to Tampa Bay.
- 55:49Speaker 9: It's one thing I really love about Fred.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, the greatest, the greatest tight end of all time.
- 55:57Speaker 1: That's a right, we're.
- 55:59Speaker 9: Going down guy.
- 56:00Speaker 1: That is tight Cole rag that's Brissette going deep to
- 56:04Speaker 1: Jalen Rager. Coverage.
- 56:07Speaker 5: Jones has just been strapping people in these practices.
- 56:12Speaker 1: If you know, we know Jones has speed, and you
- 56:14Speaker 1: know it's tough to gauge really how good a cornerback
- 56:17Speaker 1: he is. But I think he has a role when
- 56:20Speaker 1: you play those speedy receivers like the Miami.
- 56:22Speaker 8: Dolphins, where he has to play where he's helped.
- 56:25Speaker 1: He's the guy making sure that after the catch there's
- 56:28Speaker 1: no yards.
- 56:29Speaker 8: And he did open last season he was part of
- 56:31Speaker 8: the you know, he was part of the package and
- 56:33Speaker 8: he got hurt right away unfortunately. But he's going to
- 56:35Speaker 8: have to be a member of that secondary.
- 56:37Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 56:38Speaker 5: He's he's been excellent, I would say through these first
- 56:41Speaker 5: two practices. I mean he's he's been in great coverage
- 56:44Speaker 5: multiple times on guys past breakups everything.
- 56:48Speaker 4: I mean, I gotta be honest, when I watched him
- 56:50Speaker 4: like his college stuff, and I haven't seen it really translate,
- 56:53Speaker 4: but I just thought he was excellent at man coverage
- 56:57Speaker 4: and sticking with guys. He's always going to be kind
- 56:59Speaker 4: of underside, but he's quick. He just had a knack
- 57:02Speaker 4: for getting right, you know, at the catch point. He's
- 57:04Speaker 4: got that closing kind of burst and that's this is
- 57:07Speaker 4: the first time really honestly, and in what this is
- 57:09Speaker 4: the third training camp. I know he was limited a
- 57:10Speaker 4: little bit, I think in the first one, but this
- 57:13Speaker 4: is the first time I'm seeing it kind of pop
- 57:14Speaker 4: up a little bit.
- 57:15Speaker 1: It's just he's you know, the size is always.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Going to be an issue, but I think if you
- 57:17Speaker 4: can manage that, uh you know, he's he's he's he
- 57:20Speaker 4: can move.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Just you know, and he's.
- 57:24Speaker 8: But like that's three reps now, he's been outside too,
- 57:29Speaker 8: like they I you know, I'm not not positive what
- 57:33Speaker 8: they're working on in terms of their package right now,
- 57:35Speaker 8: Like who's you know.
- 57:36Speaker 1: The you can't say say anyway, Yeah, yeah, he played
- 57:41Speaker 1: a little bit on the outside yesterday too.
- 57:42Speaker 5: Yeah, so they're definitely getting him ready to play ball.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Spots.
- 57:45Speaker 5: And to Fred's point, it's gonna have to you know,
- 57:47Speaker 5: be match up based, right, You're not going to put
- 57:49Speaker 5: him out there like they have to a few years
- 57:51Speaker 5: ago when he was covering t Higgins and stuff like that.
- 57:53Speaker 8: But I'm just like, right, it's it's the same three
- 57:56Speaker 8: corners that we saw for the most part yesterday, Gonzales,
- 57:58Speaker 8: Jonathan Jones, and Marcus Jones. But Jonathan Jones has been
- 58:01Speaker 8: inside and Marcus Jones has been outside.
- 58:03Speaker 9: Yeah, I saw some this little bit of seven on seven.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:06Speaker 4: I caught a little a Gonzo Gonzo on the slot
- 58:08Speaker 4: yesterday too, So I mean, I guess they're trying to
- 58:11Speaker 4: give everybody a little That's why I.
- 58:13Speaker 8: Said it might just be personnel based on what the
- 58:15Speaker 8: what the offense has given them. It's not necessarily and
- 58:18Speaker 8: you know what I mean.
- 58:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Well, speaking of Gonzo, how do you think
- 58:21Speaker 1: he's looked so far? Okay?
- 58:23Speaker 5: I I do feel like he's still getting his sea
- 58:25Speaker 5: legs a little bit in terms of just breaking on
- 58:28Speaker 5: the ball and kind of route pacing things like that.
- 58:32Speaker 5: I mean, he's he let up a couple of catches
- 58:34Speaker 5: in front of him yesterday. The tay went to Taekwon
- 58:37Speaker 5: went to Jalen Polk, but he's he looks great every
- 58:40Speaker 5: time you watch a movie, a little bits such a
- 58:42Speaker 5: fluid after Yeah, you just I do think that he's
- 58:45Speaker 5: starting trying to get the timing back a little bit.
- 58:47Speaker 8: I saw him yesterday just kind of start juggling.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Oh uh, your boy.
- 58:52Speaker 8: Mitchell Wilcox ran unabated down down this, down the numbers,
- 58:55Speaker 8: and uh, unfortunately May did not look in that direction.
- 58:59Speaker 1: There's why open we mentioned yesterday.
- 59:03Speaker 8: By the way, on the other field with the second group,
- 59:06Speaker 8: Milton scat Milton went before Zappi. Zappi went first today.
- 59:11Speaker 8: Oh over There so.
- 59:12Speaker 1: So little development there.
- 59:14Speaker 5: That's probably gonna be a day to day back to
- 59:17Speaker 5: split up the reps, I would think, because the third
- 59:19Speaker 5: quarterback is inherently going to get more reps probably than
- 59:22Speaker 5: the fourth quarterback, so you'd be able to get each
- 59:25Speaker 5: one of them more kind of alternate the days. Shallow
- 59:30Speaker 5: Crosser to Hunter Henry, who.
- 59:32Speaker 8: Has jumped off side Hunter Henry.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Hunter, Floyd writes in Evan, don't apologize, Uh, Evan Lazar
- 59:42Speaker 1: who cares about Jacoby Brissett. Floyd says, Amen, brother, don't
- 59:46Speaker 1: drink man.
- 59:50Speaker 8: Yeah, that's a that's a totality issue.
- 59:54Speaker 9: Believe me, I feel your pain. I go there a lot.
- 59:56Speaker 8: I don't necessarily mean it to sound the way it sounds,
- 1:00:00Speaker 8: and I and I get myself in trouble by the
- 1:00:02Speaker 8: way it comes out.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Drake may still taking snaps.
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: Yeah, they're sending blitz without any off like goes and
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: then just stops.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Well good let him you know, see the pressure.
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: Yeah, see see the pressure.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: That is that is going to happen, So you better
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: be ready. I think another thing to kind of be
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: watching for.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: I haven't seen much of it yet, but some of
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: the team periods last couple of years felt like Steve
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: Belichick was like going crazy, spinning the dial, sending blitzes
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: and can't you know, just going Yeah.
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: A lot of that in the first three days. I'll
- 1:00:38Speaker 9: tell you that they had.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Seen Jude on flash back there.
- 1:00:43Speaker 8: They had one of the plays yesterday down it was
- 1:00:45Speaker 8: like a corner blitz out of the slot. I think
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: it was bledsoe, there's a good pass down the middle.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Five. A lot of empty here, a lot of tight
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: end with Kobe Brissett like that one. He comes up,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: gives him a high five.
- 1:01:02Speaker 9: He jumped you know, kind of jumped on his back
- 1:01:04Speaker 9: a little bit.
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: Yeah, don't don't hurt him.
- 1:01:07Speaker 9: Don't even look at I don't.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Even look at it.
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: It's just a nice route. Looks like a play, right,
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: there's a little skinny post. You don't think so you.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Guys know what you speak, Paul. That looked like a play. Yeah,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the timing has been right, drop down, boom, get rid
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:01:23Speaker 8: Well, that forty five couldn't hold on.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: That was nice was going on.
- 1:01:29Speaker 8: I haven't really clocked the left field.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell.
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: You, Mitchell Wilcox was opened up to see him on
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: that first wrap that Drake May took. Between these two quarterbacks,
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: there's a whole lot of.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Don't yeah, check down some well cross and stuff.
- 1:01:50Speaker 8: So you had talked about, Evan, that's a lot of
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: the Alex Van Pelt system is early that there's a
- 1:01:56Speaker 8: lot of sort of yeah, take the easy money and
- 1:02:00Speaker 8: sort of get yourself in advantageous situations. I wonder if
- 1:02:03Speaker 8: that's just what they're doing right now they're working on
- 1:02:04Speaker 8: some of those plays. Yeah, I mean, the ball is
- 1:02:06Speaker 8: Fred's right, Fred's right, the ball's coming out pretty Yeah.
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: You know, when they get into the like their gun
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: package is just traditional West Coast, So we're timing routes,
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: you're trying to get the ball out quickly and create
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: yards after the catch. That that element of their offense
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: is not it's not a deep ball type of offense.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: It's their early down offense that you get a lot
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: of the deep throws off the play action and stuff
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: like that. But when they get into this type of
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: look you know, gun uh spread the field, that that's
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: gonna be quick game, that's gonna be empty, Like it's
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: gonna it's gonna be standard, you know, Bill Walsh, West
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: Coats Like it's not. It's not a bombs away type
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: of thing.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: I would be interested though, to know what's going through
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Drake May's mind, at least in the last two or
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: three plays, because on each of them he had that
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: half pump, So like, is that something you're just doing?
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Are you thinking of going a different place? Uh?
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: Like yes, I guess so if it's.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: The former, you got to get rid of that.
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, yeah, I don't know if he's you know,
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: just to on a positive note, like he could be
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: trying to hold a defenders.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: You know, That's why I said I'd like to know
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: what's going through his mind. Yeah, yeah, I thought it
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: was pretty good.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: Uh, you know, not not really dynamic down the field,
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: but but pretty good in timing a couple of connections
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: with Hunter Henry here, yep, I'd be curious, like what
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: would Hunter Henry's honest like assessment be, Like, just what's
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: the difference have you seen between what you were getting
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: with Mac Jones?
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: But you know how he tows the ball. I mean,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: you never get the real answer, but and well no,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: but but he would be a good guy to ask
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: because he liked Mac Jells. They were you know, they
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: were you know, you.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: Just wonder, like with Max part of the gang, Yeah,
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: I mean with Mac, it seemed like he was what
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: I think I saw a stat that he like, I
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: don't know if you lead the league in lack of
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: yards after catch, but it was like his average yard
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: Like he's basically a catch and fall.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Down tight end with Mac. I just wonder maybe with
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: with Drake if.
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: If it makes any difference, if he's got any more
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: juice after the catch with him?
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean one of the things that they'll
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: have to coach these players on, you know, when May
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: gets in there is the play is not over, you know,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: be ready for him to extend play, so don't give
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: up on the play. Always be aware of what's going
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: on back there. Yeah.
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought it was a good line of question.
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: I think it was Phil Perry who asked Mayo about
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: how do the coaches feel about him running? About Drake
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: may running, And I thought that was a good question
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: because we've heard it time and time again, whether it's Baltimore, Buffalo,
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: that these coaching staffs try to rein it in with
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: the quarterbacks running as much as possible. But at the
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: same time, that's kind of their superpower is their athleticism.
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: So it's like, if you rain it in too much,
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: then now you're asking him to do things that he's
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: not good at.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: So I heard Anthony Richardson saying, you know, I'm not
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: going to stop running. Yeah, that's he said, exactly what,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: That's my superpower, right, So that's tough.
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: And that's one thing that in practice necessarily going to
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: see is the off script stuff like when he extends
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: plays with his legs and rolls out and gets out
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: on the perimeter and makes throws down the field. That's
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: such a big part of his game that we're just
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: not going to see gotchas.
- 1:05:13Speaker 8: On the eleven and eleven, Yeah, which I think is
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: a good a good sign.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: You got the right tackle. Paul Shad from Schenectady, did
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I get it? Chaff of Schenectady has a little defense
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: of Barth Evan. He says he just wanted to point
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: out that when the news broke about Douglas working through
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: an injury, Barth walked back his theory about them hiding him.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Come on, Evan, don't throw your boy under the bus.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I'm always going to throw my boy under the bus.
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: Is that Calvin flipped?
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: I think Wallace is at left tackle and Cheops is right,
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: and there it is and there it is.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: So yeah, defense had a read on that album pass
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: broken up. Not a long pass either. Two guys converged
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: on that pass by Bursett.
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: We talked about this yesterday on Cash twenty two also,
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: and Mayo got asked a few questions about to rotating
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: the offensive line and how much you really at what
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: point do you want to roll with five guys and
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: show as possibility?
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: And I got it.
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: I don't really care for all the rotating they've been doing,
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: you know, I think at some point you got to
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: stick to five guys. I mean, I know we're not
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: in pads yet, so I'm trying to be It's it's
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: funny with it.
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: It's funny because for this being you know, the differences
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: that we've observed, Like I almost feel like it was
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: a little bit easier to get a bead on some
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: of the depth chart with bills practices than I have.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: This one.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: Feels like it's been a lot of random randomness with
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: some of the you know, second level guys.
- 1:06:55Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: I mean, I'd rather them do all this shuffling now
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: and figure this out versus trying to figure this out.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: For sure, absolutely try all.
- 1:07:03Speaker 7: The different combos.
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: Especially, I feel like after a week of pads, you
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: should know who your best fight is.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: The question is how do you determine that unless it's live,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: unless the defense is going.
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: On, maybe the dirt practice will be like their their
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: key moment.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: When I know we talked about that earlier. You know
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: how much more important that one day of joint practice
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: might be this year compared to other years because there's
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: so many questions. I just can't get that extending the
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: play on the run in almost throwing a pick. Should
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: have been a pick right in the hands of who
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: was that they couldn't hold on to it, So he
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: should do push ups for Trump. I'm serious. He should
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: have caught that.
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: And just like to just sort of talk a little
- 1:07:52Speaker 8: bit about the play itself. That play was by design.
- 1:07:54Speaker 8: It was a hard play action with the boot and
- 1:07:57Speaker 8: the thrower is on the run and unfortunately, I'm not
- 1:08:01Speaker 8: sure he saw Bentley underneath and really had perfect coverage
- 1:08:06Speaker 8: on the play.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Probably should have had it picked.
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: Yeah, they're really struggling to get these boots blocked, like
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: they just they're leaving the edges unblocked and guys are
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: just coming through unblocked, and it's just causing problems for Bersette.
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: There's been a couple of times now where they've they
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: haven't really picked it up, or haven't gotten the edge
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: to bite on the fake, you know, those types of
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: things that that's the one thing about this scheme I
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: don't particularly love. And so Mitchell Wilcox is being asked
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: to block Matthew Judon in past protection and it's just
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: the way that the formation is designed that happens a lot,
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: and that is not a matchup that they are going
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: to win.
- 1:08:46Speaker 8: So I'm also going to say, like, given the concerns
- 1:08:51Speaker 8: we have on the offensive line, there's a lot of
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: plays where they're asking the quarterback to turn his back
- 1:08:55Speaker 8: to the rush, and yeah.
- 1:08:58Speaker 9: That's a play right there.
- 1:08:59Speaker 8: As soon as Perset turns around his gut, nothing but
- 1:09:02Speaker 8: a face full of Matthew Judon coming coming right at him.
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: So to Evan's point, I'm not.
- 1:09:11Speaker 8: Sure the personnel is necessarily the best fit right right
- 1:09:14Speaker 8: now for what they're trying to do.
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I wonder if maybe the counter sort of the
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: fix is that instead of the full boot you start
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: to run maybe more half boots, so you're not getting
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: the quarterback quite as far outside the pocket and widening
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: the pocket as much as you would in a full
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: boot leg, but you're still getting the same action. You're
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: still get you know, creating the same displacement in the
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: defense or similar. So maybe they could do something like
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: that to kind of work around it.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Here's an email I don't necessarily agree with, Todd writes
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: in Drake looks so much like a kid still without
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: definition and gangly. I really would like them to see
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: them highly focused on building up his body. If he's
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: going to use his legs otherwise his throwing we should
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: looks smooth.
- 1:09:57Speaker 8: And he does need that. He thinks he does need
- 1:09:59Speaker 8: some ball and twenty pounds. I know, but I mean,
- 1:10:02Speaker 8: he's not necessarily defined. He's still he looks like an athlete.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: He's he's just a kid.
- 1:10:10Speaker 8: Yeah, he's got time. I wouldn't I wouldn't worry about
- 1:10:13Speaker 8: I wouldn't worry about it. He will fill out, yeah,
- 1:10:15Speaker 8: but he he does need some bulk on his on
- 1:10:17Speaker 8: his frame.
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: He's not quite as imposing as his listed height and weight.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:10:24Speaker 9: I noticed that. That's all I'm saying.
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: Immediately at the at the combine, when I stood next
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: to him, I was like, this guy's six four two twenty.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: I can't really feel sick. I got the two twenty.
- 1:10:35Speaker 7: Evan, what's switched your guy? Josh Allen's weight bigger?
- 1:10:39Speaker 8: Yeah, Yeah, he's a load.
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: Well.
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: They were wished his weight when he came in though.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good question, probably like Josh Allen thirty. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: On your show yesterday they were talking about hand size,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: oh gosh, and Drake May's hand side being on the
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: lower end of quarterbacks. That was off of Phil Perry's
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: story fifteenth percentile, which is low.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: Yeah, but anything above nine is past okay, and he's
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: barely over nine.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: You mentioned Josh Allen that made me think he's over ten.
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: Yeah, but he's got some pause. There's the quarterbacks that
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: are in the ballpark of where Drake may is that
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: have gone.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 1:11:18Speaker 8: Burrow was famously mocked coming out of college.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Having Mahomes doesn't have much bigger hands than that.
- 1:11:24Speaker 7: Yeah, and now he's being mocked for looking like Eminem.
- 1:11:27Speaker 8: I think Mahomes's was bigger, Burrows was small. Just over nine.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, let's say Sean and Vancouver. I agree with Paul
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: about Belichick no longer making good decisions. This was especially
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: true when it came to the offense since fourteen. It's
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: not like he completely lost it, though. When it came
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: to defense, he always had his a game, picking up
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: Jude On and mastering the first round in twenty twenty
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: three to get Gonzales. I was sure Christian Gonzalez would
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: have been taken in the top ten. Why did Bill
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: make so many head scratching decisions in his last ten
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: seasons with offensive personnel and coaches? Was he stubborn? Did
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: he just fall behind and where the league advanced. You
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: know what, I I know it could be a conspiracy,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: it could, but I think that his relationship with Brady
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: was such that it's like, all right, Brady, you think
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: you want to do it all on your own, I'm
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: going to focus on the defense.
- 1:12:21Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:12:23Speaker 8: I just don't think he has I don't think he
- 1:12:26Speaker 8: was quick to adjust to the importance of offense and
- 1:12:30Speaker 8: the changes that offenses were making sort of in concert
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: with one another.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Alex says that we have players families in the YouTube chat.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: There we go. Supposedly Anthony Jennings's mother is here in
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: the stream. Son. We give Anthony Jennings some love. Absolutely, Yeah,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: good to get him back.
- 1:12:51Speaker 8: What a year last year for him.
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: You know, I just said up before, but just always
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: felt like in Alabama that's what he did. He was
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: a stout, stand up edge rush kind of guy. Maybe
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: not the most past rush in the you know, pass
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: rush juice in the league, but uh, last year he
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: was outstanding on the edge, set in the edge. Watching
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: some early practice though, I mean it's it's been a
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: lot of key on White. I feel like they're really
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: getting a look at key On White with that top group,
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: you know, opposite Judawn standing up, and I, you know,
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: I wonder what that rotation is going to look like.
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: With Jennings, I have not seen him out there much.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: Have you seen much from him? I'm not going to
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: run stuff yesterday that.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Was it though.
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: It's just okay, But I just feel like it's with
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: Keon White. I still feel like he's a ball of
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: clay and I'm not really sure what he is.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: Thank you somebody fell that juju. Yeah, thank you for
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: that deuce, because I was thinking the exact same thing
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: with Keon White. Everybody thinks this guy is going to
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: be a monster. He looks like I think we've yet
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: to figure out a monster at what Yeah, well, I
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: think that's uh.
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: I think right now, what they're trying to what I'm
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: reading in is that can this guy play outside line?
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: Can he stand up for us and be you know,
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: kind of what Judon is? I mean that's what it's
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: to do that I no, no, I mean that's you know,
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: he doesn't really have much wiggle. I do think he
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: has surprising light feet, and he's pretty uh, you know,
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: has some good change of direction. But I think he's
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: going to be a power rusher, whereas you know Judon's
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: got He's an experienced veteran.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: Juden's got some some savvy to it. So who made
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: that catch?
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: kJ Osborne, good catch by the way, r PO screen. Yeah,
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: this eleven period for both quarterbacks has been awful. Yeah,
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: just just to throw that out there, it's just been terrible.
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: I mean, Gonzales pass breakup almost picked by Juwan Bentley,
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: Matthew Judon sack essentially a five yard completion on a
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: hitch to Remandre. Then we have another I don't even
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: know what that throw was that he threw off that
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: bout leg wobbler from Drake May almost picked the Juju
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: falls down on the route.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: Like this is this has been.
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: Well, It's like the people who thought yesterday was such
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: a disaster where we got to go today.
- 1:15:02Speaker 8: So the offensive line situation to me is there's a
- 1:15:05Speaker 8: there's a lot of mixing and matching today. The first
- 1:15:09Speaker 8: couple of days when you would stay out there at
- 1:15:11Speaker 8: the right guard spot while the second group came in.
- 1:15:17Speaker 8: Today he did the same thing. But there's been other
- 1:15:19Speaker 8: guys like Kayden Wallace stayed with him. Chukes has been
- 1:15:23Speaker 8: out there a little bit with this group, and then
- 1:15:25Speaker 8: there's been other guys, you know, like Leverett has been
- 1:15:28Speaker 8: sort of in there, Michael Jordan has been in there.
- 1:15:31Speaker 8: So they're doing a lot of mixing and matching with
- 1:15:33Speaker 8: these personnel groups. I that that line that Mayo had
- 1:15:38Speaker 8: on Tuesday about finding the best five, I think is
- 1:15:42Speaker 8: sort of like illustrated in how much they've been just
- 1:15:47Speaker 8: rotating and trying to.
- 1:15:48Speaker 9: Figure that out.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: And I think the kind of what you know Tamara
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: was saying is is can they settle on at least
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: what they like for right now so that you can
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: develop some continuity, because through these last two days of
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: practice it's been hard for them to really get any momentum.
- 1:16:01Speaker 6: Go Yeah, I think it's going to be hard to
- 1:16:03Speaker 6: build chemistry in an offensive line and for the quarterback
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: to feel comfortable playing behind that offensive line if it's
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: a different five every single week going into week one.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: So I hope, realistically, yeah, how quickly do you think
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: they can do that?
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: I really hope by the end of the joint practice
- 1:16:17Speaker 6: they know these are five, Okay.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: But like, what's that's fair? They should already know who
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: because you'll have a preseason game under your belt, right.
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: They should already know, like the most of these guys
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: have already played in the NFL. The only guy that
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: hasn't played in the league is Caden Wallace that might
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: actually factor into this. So it's like, you know, four
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: fists of your line is going to be Chukes City,
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: So David Andrews Mike on wedding, like, those four guys
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: are going to play. So it's really just that right
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: tackle spot that's up for grabs, and that's amongst a
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: couple of different people. So I'm cool if they want
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: to put four fists of it out there and then
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: have Calvid Anderson and Vederian Lowe and Caden Wallace and
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: those guys, you know, fight it out until the end
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: of the summer. But like, why are we shuffling the
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: entire thing? You know that that the whole period of
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: eleven's was just kind of disaster.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: I think you should go down after the practice and
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: finger wag somebody. I wish I could. Adrian writes in
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: from Delaware, says it's enjoying the coverage. I have a
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: day off today, so with me being a productive thirty
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: year old millennial guy, I got up at five am
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: to go running and then mow the lawn. Now I'm
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: relaxing while eating delicious watermelon and mixed fruit. One question
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: for offensive enthusiasts, which of our receivers can run the best?
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: Thirty two all coverage from DVOA Post Root Italian with
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Mayo route concepts. I think he's making fun of Evans.
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: I think he is because he just had the everything
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: from rolling the lawn and having some fruit.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: No, not my day. I love.
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: I love how he painted the picture of his morning.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: There you go. No, it's an Evan tribute right there,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: that's right.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: Absolutely was Evan stopped listening very No, somebody ran leak.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: So what do we have going on in the field
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: right now? This is that old angling drill, middle of
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: the fields tackle pursuit. Still no pads, so yeah, they're
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: not bringing No one's going to the ground.
- 1:18:10Speaker 9: They are in shells.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Today. You mentioned that we did mention that amped it
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: up a little bit.
- 1:18:21Speaker 8: So Evan was not happy with the elevens Now that
- 1:18:24Speaker 8: we just saw. It's gonna send a mean tweet.
- 1:18:28Speaker 7: I think.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Anthony writes in from South Carolina. Any thoughts I'm bringing
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: back Gilmore to solidify our defensive back group. Jesus high
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: highly in favor of that. Uh.
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: I just saw White catch the ball and run and
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: he actually looked pretty good doing it going against John Ventley.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: That's pretty funny.
- 1:18:47Speaker 7: He's a scary guy. I was looking at him yesterday
- 1:18:49Speaker 7: after he spoke at the podium and.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I was like, Alex writes in I was wrong. It's
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: Terrell Jennings mother in the chat.
- 1:18:58Speaker 9: And unfortunately I don't think he's doing a lot today.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: He's been.
- 1:19:01Speaker 8: Uh, I think he's been kind of rehappening a little bit.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: No, you're Jennings, Yeah he hasn't.
- 1:19:08Speaker 9: I don't think he's been.
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: Fully healthy then, but you probably don't have to tell
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: his mom that she should probab.
- 1:19:13Speaker 8: But that's a shame because in all seriousness, that's a
- 1:19:16Speaker 8: position that I think opportunity is probably a greater chance
- 1:19:19Speaker 8: of one of those lesser known players, you know, making
- 1:19:23Speaker 8: an impact.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: Ye, So missus Jennings tell him to get healthy fast.
- 1:19:29Speaker 7: So now we have to keep up with the Joneses, Jenny, too.
- 1:19:33Speaker 8: Many at.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: See here comes somebody walking with as many Joneses as
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: we once did. We lost to of them. Yeah, right
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: from last year, Jack and Mack, Jack and Mac.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: I wonder how Jack Jones doing out there. I don't,
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: I do believe unless that's Gibson now. So here he
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: comes Terrell Jennings walking up right now from the lower
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: field with one of the coaches or trainers.
- 1:19:59Speaker 8: So yeah, his summer is slow start so far getting helpful.
- 1:20:07Speaker 9: You're having a hard time reading in the sun, Freddy.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: What's it listening to you guys?
- 1:20:13Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Okay, so they are changing, well, we have a little
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: bit of a dead period here.
- 1:20:17Speaker 9: They're changing.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: Periods and probably special teams. Now you think maybe, I
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: think they're going to do another team period. Those are
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: always the funnest looks like they're going to riverside? What
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: does that mean, Paul? Switch sides? Why did they call
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: it riverside?
- 1:20:35Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: That's an Andy Hart is that that's a specific football term.
- 1:20:39Speaker 9: Every coach that I ever had used to say, let's
- 1:20:41Speaker 9: just riverside it. Why can't you just tell.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Us the switch side?
- 1:20:44Speaker 8: It's too many syllables. Iron sharpens iron, That's true. Dan
- 1:20:50Speaker 8: Quinn taught Andy that what do we got going on
- 1:20:53Speaker 8: over there? With the alignment and some band work to
- 1:20:57Speaker 8: tug one resistance span Dante's and.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: That's where they jump rope. They just do that little
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: double Dutch resistance ban stuff.
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: Well, i'd have to I have to get a little
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: of that in the and the blogs might some of
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: the five hundred words.
- 1:21:15Speaker 9: Actually a seven on seven that we're gonna do, uh
- 1:21:18Speaker 9: the same time.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, quick game to Austin Hooper.
- 1:21:23Speaker 8: Hoop Hooper starts to drive Hoop?
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: Ain't you watching complete? Actually no, Austin, I'm infatuated with
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: the band work.
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: Is this another one? As soon as you take the
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: line out, they look okay. Well, I just like everything
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: has been so short.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: Yeah, they in sevens. They're definitely working click game concepts.
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: Oh they did run a double move there and wasn't there?
- 1:21:50Speaker 5: kJ Osborne did not run by eight seconds late.
- 1:21:52Speaker 7: Marco, Yeah, I was gonna say that were either in
- 1:21:54Speaker 7: a sack or tackle in the back.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: That's a checked out.
- 1:21:57Speaker 8: You're looking to do something downfield, it's not there, you
- 1:22:00Speaker 8: check it down.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Mike.
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: Yeah, I've seen enough of that.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: But do you think that the the what they're telling
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: the quarterback here is if it's there, throw it or
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: do you think this is a checkdown drill? I know
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: that one.
- 1:22:14Speaker 8: They shut up yeah, I think they try to do
- 1:22:17Speaker 8: something on that plot. Okay, looked like a double move.
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: I do think that when they get into the gun, though,
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: that they are trying to get the ball out quickly.
- 1:22:25Speaker 5: They're not really looking, you know, running a ton of
- 1:22:28Speaker 5: round concepts other than the one we just talked about
- 1:22:30Speaker 5: that that would that would not.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Have been a pleasant day for kind of custamental traffic.
- 1:22:37Speaker 8: And there was one of the was it was it
- 1:22:41Speaker 8: Bentley or your boy when somebody was coming from the
- 1:22:44Speaker 8: inside and just kind of, you know, did that little
- 1:22:47Speaker 8: skip to avoid the contact, all.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Right, that would have been ugly. Looked like Bentley to me,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: But I thought a lot of single dude, Mike, just
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: write a about the single zero to ten. That's all
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: you need to know. Really not help you there. Double Alex,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: double a ju ju. Alex Austen is a guy who
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: you know on the something him.
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I think they call him double as he definitely
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: seems like to the third rotational outside corner, where as
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: I like to call it the Jason mccordy there you yeah,
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: just the you're gonna have Gonzo, You're gonna have John Jones.
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: Those are your two primary corners and it's some packages.
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: I feel like Alex Austin is going to be that
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: that third guy kicked John Jones inside and like Alex
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: Austen played the premiere.
- 1:23:39Speaker 9: Make Sean Wade expendable.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Oh Wade, I got, I got a nod. I don't
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: know if anybody caught that. I got a little bit
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: of a nod from that.
- 1:23:49Speaker 8: Probably didn't want to be guilty of totality issue there,
- 1:23:52Speaker 8: so he just gave.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Me a nod.
- 1:23:55Speaker 5: It's really to me. I don't even know Sean Waye's
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: in this mix at this point. Marcella's issle Isaiah Golden
- 1:24:01Speaker 5: like if those two younger guys can maybe overtaken. But
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: Alex Austin's a young guy too, so it's not like
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: he's a you know, going into You're getting old or
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: anything like that.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: He's in your two.
- 1:24:12Speaker 7: I only had a good day yesterday, you had, Yeah, So.
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: That was an interesting one, like to freend to your
- 1:24:22Speaker 5: point earlier about are they just purposely throwing it? You know,
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: he had Hunter Henry open coming across the field and
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: he kind of looked it off to try to hold
- 1:24:30Speaker 5: the safety and then took the shot down the field
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: of Jalen Polk was incomplete, was.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: A little overthrown.
- 1:24:37Speaker 8: Would you say I got a glimpse of Yeah, he
- 1:24:42Speaker 8: got he got he got a good good position there,
- 1:24:45Speaker 8: and I thought he was in position.
- 1:24:46Speaker 9: Yeah, I got a glimpse.
- 1:24:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think of hope I do get
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: a Jacoby Myers vibe from him, but.
- 1:24:54Speaker 8: I don't want to I don't want to overstate I
- 1:24:56Speaker 8: would love to get a Jacoby Myers vibe from Yeah.
- 1:24:59Speaker 6: I think it would be great for Drake May to
- 1:25:01Speaker 6: have that binky like Mac Jones had Jacoby Myers and
- 1:25:04Speaker 6: great Drake May has just love that.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: A little juice.
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: He just worry about about the explosiveness, like is he
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: gonna as much as Jacoby was reliable, it was never
- 1:25:15Speaker 5: it was never dynamic. Yeah that's okay if that's your
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: second wide receiver too, as we say, but.
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: Yeah, that's I mean, that's why I would still have
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: hope for Polk to be better than the Myers is
- 1:25:26Speaker 4: just you know, Polk has been a career wide receiver.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: I mean he's you know, it took Jacoby a little
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: time to build up to it, coming from you know,
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: quarterback position. To be fair to say, you want pope
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: at some point to be at least as good as
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: T Higgins. Well, I think they're different players. Wow, I
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: mean that's.
- 1:25:43Speaker 9: Yeah, one of the second round picks.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Ever, Yeah, I don't. I don't consider T. Higgins elite,
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: but he's really good. He's one of the best. Yeah,
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: he's like, he's a good I.
- 1:25:52Speaker 9: Don't know where your cutoff is, but he's really good.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: I mean, I I just it's it's struggle with player
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: comps because people immediately say that's what you are. But
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: like the style of An Kwon Bolden's game, you know,
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: he's got some size. He's probably not you know, I
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: mean later in his career, not super fast, but just
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: reliable inside and tough and big enough that he can
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: kind of deal, especially in the red zone.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: It with some of the physicality.
- 1:26:17Speaker 8: It's by worry and I love, I love, love love,
- 1:26:20Speaker 8: and he's a physical beast. I mean, he's like a
- 1:26:23Speaker 8: Pepper's time. I don't like the fact that we're talking
- 1:26:25Speaker 8: about a guy coming into the league the way An
- 1:26:28Speaker 8: KWin Bolden left the league.
- 1:26:30Speaker 9: Andrew Bolden did not come into the league.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: As a physical beast that was out muscling guys.
- 1:26:34Speaker 8: The first game he played as a pro, he set
- 1:26:36Speaker 8: a record for like two hundred and whatever amount of
- 1:26:39Speaker 8: You know, he was a really good athlete who you know,
- 1:26:43Speaker 8: took a lot of wear and tear over the years.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: I say this a lot.
- 1:26:48Speaker 9: Fred Who's the guy Vincent Brisbee?
- 1:26:50Speaker 8: I always talk about Vincent Brisbee when guys come out
- 1:26:53Speaker 8: of the Mount of College.
- 1:26:54Speaker 9: And they were a little iffy in terms of their
- 1:26:57Speaker 9: speed and athleticism.
- 1:27:00Speaker 8: That's that's hard to overcome because you're gonna you're gonna
- 1:27:03Speaker 8: lose a little bit as you go, and if you
- 1:27:05Speaker 8: already come in like on the sort of on the
- 1:27:08Speaker 8: baseline in terms of the measurables, it's hard to maintain it.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I think with wide receivers, I don't care. Always physical,
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: always a fifty to fifty guy. Oh he shipped, what's
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: his production? That's all it comes to. What's the production?
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: Does he get over? Does to catch the ball?
- 1:27:26Speaker 7: And that was a nice diving catcher there, sure was.
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: That's kick white Jackson. But when I like so much
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: about that, not to make everything about may that is
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: just not a throw that we've seen quarterbacks around here.
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: Make like you're going far hash on a ten yard
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: you know, comeback route there and he gets it there
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: on a rope like that. Those are throws that with
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: Matt Jones, we were all like, yeah.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: And that's the thing that people forget. If you're in
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: the middle of the field, when you're throwing to the
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: far hash, you're still throwing the ball over twenty five yards.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: It's still a you immediate throws just going a long distance.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: That's why so many of them get picked off.
- 1:28:05Speaker 8: Yeah, he put it, I mean only where Jackson could
- 1:28:07Speaker 8: come back to it too.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a good throw. I mean, I know
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: it was a good it was getting there. That's a
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: rookie thing.
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: The ball just came right out of this he wanted
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: to like, just like Mahomes, that one almost felt like
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: he was with a side arm.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: So why don't we describe what happened there?
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: Well, I actually look at it differently. I guess like
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: he just off platformed it all the way out to
- 1:28:28Speaker 5: the side of that.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: It's true he did, But did you see the ball
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: He had to trap it against his hip because he
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: lost control.
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: Okay, I mean he still got it, pulled it down.
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: Like I just feel like those types of throws are
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: to me, that's impressive. Like he just he stumbled a
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: little bit, like he didn't have his feet under him,
- 1:28:44Speaker 5: and the ball still got was catchable or in the area.
- 1:28:47Speaker 8: It's a physical play that not a lot of guys
- 1:28:50Speaker 8: can make. I don't ever want to see it again.
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: But the fair enough. It's like the play.
- 1:28:56Speaker 8: It's like the throw that Brady completed from his book.
- 1:28:59Speaker 7: That's a good one over the middle.
- 1:29:00Speaker 9: Yeah, great play. Don't ever do it again.
- 1:29:04Speaker 5: That's the first time I think I've written Bouty's number down.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I know I had earlier. I thought it was
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: sim but then it was Raager. I keep mixing them.
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Those those guys. Up Emery writes in one of the
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: things I'm most interested in is how the receivers perform
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: with May versus the other quarterbacks. Is Drake May elevating
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: them or not? Have you noticed that at all so far?
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: And could you please try to mention who the quarterback
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: is whenever you remark on a catch.
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: No, you can definitely do that second part. It's a
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: little early to tell.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: Just such a heavy rotation right now. I mean, it's
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: it's just hard. I would like to have seen him
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: throw that seem just.
- 1:29:42Speaker 4: May still came back to check down Baker think may
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: just I think that was the last.
- 1:29:46Speaker 8: One for me, and we'll do another eleven at this point. Oh,
- 1:29:52Speaker 8: we have a quarterback expert in the house.
- 1:29:54Speaker 12: Oh yeah, Scott Zolac now joining the show.
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: You what you got there?
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: You got a burrito? Nice?
- 1:30:10Speaker 9: We got food already.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: They have their own spread ball. Oh nice, it's catered.
- 1:30:17Speaker 8: Wait, it's a it's a catered they are it is
- 1:30:18Speaker 8: Paul shows though, Does that count?
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: That's one of my.
- 1:30:22Speaker 9: Shots, one of my shows.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: I can use his employee branch over there right, Yeah,
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: uh well it's in my office. Anybody see Dante High
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: Tower yesterday?
- 1:30:33Speaker 8: Just what a coaching look.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: He's like the bucket hat on. I was very confused.
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: Oh my god, he's got the sleeveless.
- 1:30:39Speaker 8: Like red wind breaker on with like the bucket hat
- 1:30:41Speaker 8: and the glasses.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: I mean you just look like. I'm like, that's he's
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: got the coach style down.
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: I might have to start trackings Gon sleeveless shirts for
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: High Tower.
- 1:30:50Speaker 7: He's gonna have a catalog all High Tower.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: Guns out today.
- 1:30:54Speaker 8: Yes, for High Tower, no sun, but guns were out.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: David Bethlehem writes in her right for football? Are you
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: seeing much ol coaching? What coaches are doing? What are
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: you seeing any coaching or is this just a public
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: exhibition for FASI tryout. There's a lot of coach.
- 1:31:10Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a little hard with the O line because
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: they're that down opposite of us. So you know, usually
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: it's like a massive humanity of offensive and defensive linemen
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: opposite of us.
- 1:31:18Speaker 8: And so now this is another whole different offensive line
- 1:31:22Speaker 8: that's going to start off this eleven on eleven.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: Oh, this is never mind, I'm on I'm on the
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: different fields.
- 1:31:29Speaker 9: I'm on a different field.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: Never mind. I have talked to some of you.
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: We talked to some of the tackles yesterday, Jukes, the
- 1:31:34Speaker 5: core for Kadian Wallace and uh or not Kaden Wallace, sorry,
- 1:31:38Speaker 5: Calvin Anderson, and they had a lot of good things
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: to say about Peters. And that wasn't just at the podium.
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: I had to chat with them about it off to
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: the side. You're talking, Yeah, and they both those guys
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: were really complimentary of what they they've gotten so far
- 1:31:51Speaker 5: from a coaching standpoint with Scott Peters.
- 1:31:53Speaker 8: So what do you make of the two tackles Wallace
- 1:31:55Speaker 8: and Chewkes going with Zappi on the opposite field. Yeah,
- 1:32:00Speaker 8: and the rest the rest of the dudes are over
- 1:32:04Speaker 8: with Gonzales. That was like Gonzales and Jay Jones in
- 1:32:07Speaker 8: the secondary.
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: I mean it feels like a little mix up, you know,
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: letting the letting the upper echelon offensive guys go against.
- 1:32:15Speaker 8: That's why I got confused because I saw enough, yeah,
- 1:32:19Speaker 8: regular players on this side, so this is really yeah.
- 1:32:23Speaker 8: I mean, I gotta imagine a mix mix of person
- 1:32:26Speaker 8: and when you break down the film right here where
- 1:32:28Speaker 8: it's like, all right, this is our you know, but
- 1:32:31Speaker 8: top offense kind of going against the secondary that's filling
- 1:32:34Speaker 8: with guys that are.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: We don't really know what's going on. So on this field,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: which is closest to us, where you have a CORPS
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: four and Cayden Wallace, maybe they're doing something that tackles
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: play more of a role. Maybe it's it's a defensive
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: centric drill, but maybe it's a good test for the tackles.
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: So maybe they just want to We don't know that.
- 1:32:52Speaker 8: They're just waiting on those bootlegs like all day long.
- 1:32:55Speaker 8: Nobody's so I mean, we can say maybe it's anything, right,
- 1:33:00Speaker 8: I have no idea, But like they're running eleven on
- 1:33:02Speaker 8: eleven and they're.
- 1:33:03Speaker 9: Mixing and matching the personnel.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: I mean, I don't.
- 1:33:07Speaker 8: Yeah, Hey, it's Jones, Gonzales and ze Peppers in the secondary.
- 1:33:13Speaker 8: So three of the four guys are regular guys with
- 1:33:15Speaker 8: Brandon Brandon Schooler.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: So it's like, you know, in simplest of terms, second
- 1:33:22Speaker 4: over's first d secondary and over there you're getting a yeah.
- 1:33:26Speaker 5: Just interesting about the tackles, Like you have Calvin Anderson
- 1:33:29Speaker 5: and Vederian Lowe with the with the ones, and then
- 1:33:33Speaker 5: you have Kiddie Wallace and Cheops the core for with
- 1:33:37Speaker 5: Bailey Zappy.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: Which one is left over there? Cheops over here? They
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: did you sit over there? And I wasn't left on
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: this side wallet and Cheops is on the right. Well
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: it was the first play anyway. I don't know if
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: they switched.
- 1:34:03Speaker 8: Joseph in Vietnam, but Anderson's left and low is right
- 1:34:08Speaker 8: on the far side.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: MI, yes, that is correct, Okay. Joseph says I was
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: watching a Belichick interview and he said they used to
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: evaluate players by projecting what they'll play like after their
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: second year jump. He then continues that some players make
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: that jump during their first half of their rookie season,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: sometimes during their second training camp, sometimes longer. My question is,
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: who is clearly making their second year jump right now?
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: Did any rookie have their second year jump in their
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: rookie year, last year or any year you can remember?
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 1:34:42Speaker 8: I mean, they haven't had pads on yet, so I'm
- 1:34:44Speaker 8: not gonna talk about second year jumps per se right now.
- 1:34:47Speaker 8: Like Mike, Mike has talked about key On White being
- 1:34:50Speaker 8: heavily involved in a lot of personnel groups. I think
- 1:34:54Speaker 8: he would be a guy that Mayo is singled out
- 1:34:58Speaker 8: already in the offseason. Guys, you know, I don't know,
- 1:35:01Speaker 8: guys have had really good rookie years.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: You know. Unfortunately we didn't get to see Gonzales because
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: he was out.
- 1:35:08Speaker 8: Like Devin mccordy had a Pro Bowl caliber rookie ye
- 1:35:11Speaker 8: had Pro Bowl not caliber.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: He was a Pro bowler right his rookie year. You know.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: I think Bronk is a guy who got better and
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: better as a rookie. Yeah, so maybe he maybe he
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: made the second year jump in the middle of his
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: rookie year.
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: I think I think the two guys that that that
- 1:35:25Speaker 4: jumped to mind Paul, you mentioned Kem White, of course, uh,
- 1:35:30Speaker 4: Krishian Zawes, I'm gonna leave him out of it though,
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: uh city, So I mean otherwise I think I don't know.
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: I'm not really I'm not really about a little banged
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: up about the ultimate second year jump, Tom Brady.
- 1:35:43Speaker 5: Is there is there another level for Pop Douglas because
- 1:35:46Speaker 5: he's healthy, He's the other one right saying healthy? I
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: think yeah, but take in terms of like his actual
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: play on the field, like, yeah, is that where is
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: that you know, in terms of talent level, because he
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: would be the one guy that I feel like could
- 1:36:02Speaker 5: other than Gonzales, which I think is an obvious one
- 1:36:05Speaker 5: that maybe could.
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: Should make that leave.
- 1:36:10Speaker 5: I just don't don't. I haven't seen it with Kean
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: w yet, like I watch, but yeah, like I said,
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: I thought that I did catch run stuff from ninety one. Yeah, right,
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: for a few guys just took us.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: So now.
- 1:36:26Speaker 8: There was like that was like he took a hard
- 1:36:28Speaker 8: step to his right just we're talking about Dietrich wise
- 1:36:31Speaker 8: yep uh, and then shot right through a gap. Now
- 1:36:34Speaker 8: is that like sort of any different than what you've
- 1:36:37Speaker 8: seen in terms of technique?
- 1:36:39Speaker 5: Not necessarily depending on you know what they're from. The
- 1:36:42Speaker 5: atantics are what they're playing because usually like the weak
- 1:36:45Speaker 5: side player, they they will let him just shoot the
- 1:36:48Speaker 5: gap one on one.
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: But it depends, you know.
- 1:36:52Speaker 8: That's one thing I you know, I was talking to
- 1:36:53Speaker 8: Fred before the show about all the offensive players that
- 1:36:58Speaker 8: we're talking to were, you know, which talking about how
- 1:37:00Speaker 8: Drake may looks and that, you know, the changes to
- 1:37:03Speaker 8: the offensive system and I know the defensively there's probably
- 1:37:07Speaker 8: I don't know if you want to say ninety five
- 1:37:09Speaker 8: or more percent the same, But do you think there's
- 1:37:13Speaker 8: any any changes in terms of the way they want
- 1:37:15Speaker 8: to play? Not will they be more aggressive? Will they
- 1:37:18Speaker 8: do anything in terms of by design?
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: I haven't seen that yet. There we go.
- 1:37:26Speaker 9: He got behind it.
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: Well he let go on that on purpose. It's easy hearn. Yeah, okay,
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: is that forty two? So tell us tell us who
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: did watch? Yeah?
- 1:37:38Speaker 8: Yeah, Jayleen Polk got opened deep and it was a
- 1:37:40Speaker 8: nice ball by Drake or for a long catch.
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: Jalen Hawkins. People in coverage and he got him right
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: over there and dropped it in the bucket. Jalen Hawkins
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: was lurking on that one. So all the offense is
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: excited about that.
- 1:37:54Speaker 8: Zez Hearn was the corner and coverage again, so he
- 1:37:56Speaker 8: seems to be the guy that gets victimized.
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: On the deep balls where is easy her And now
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: he's a more physical corner at the line of scrimmage,
- 1:38:03Speaker 5: like he's like a bump and run. Okay, truly, So
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: I'm not saying that he's prime Stephon Gilmour and we
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: just haven't seen it yet. But in his defense, if
- 1:38:12Speaker 5: you can't really get physical at the line of scrimmage
- 1:38:15Speaker 5: with guys, and he's going to struggle to keep up
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: and foot.
- 1:38:18Speaker 8: Did you think that that Hawkins led up there a
- 1:38:20Speaker 8: little bit a little bit?
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: I mean, I don't think he was going to get
- 1:38:23Speaker 5: there in terms of making a direct play on the football,
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: but I do think he.
- 1:38:29Speaker 9: Yeah, see, I don't want to see those.
- 1:38:32Speaker 8: There's two or three plays like that today that you
- 1:38:34Speaker 8: can do and practice that I don't ever want to
- 1:38:36Speaker 8: see anything.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: So that was one where May was dropped back, had
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: two people right in his face and he.
- 1:38:42Speaker 8: Threw, he back pedaled and off his back foot floated
- 1:38:46Speaker 8: one out to the flat.
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: Now it was complete, it was complete.
- 1:38:50Speaker 8: But those are the kinds of plays that you don't
- 1:38:51Speaker 8: necessarily want to see a lot of and I know
- 1:38:54Speaker 8: that he has the arm to get it there. There's
- 1:38:55Speaker 8: that omnipressing clip on Twitter that everybody rose like. Everybody
- 1:39:00Speaker 8: runs it periodically. Mac Jones backfoot compared to Drake may
- 1:39:04Speaker 8: backfoot and it's a throw that Mac made in Germany
- 1:39:08Speaker 8: last year for the game ceiling pick and a play
- 1:39:12Speaker 8: at North Carolina where May off his back foot, flips
- 1:39:15Speaker 8: one forty yards for a touchdown. Yeah, I understand physically
- 1:39:21Speaker 8: he's capable of doing some of that stuff. I think
- 1:39:24Speaker 8: you gotta learn the you know, you're got to learn
- 1:39:26Speaker 8: the real, the regular bread and butter first before you
- 1:39:29Speaker 8: worry about homes.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: And this gets back to my take about letting him
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: make mistakes his rookie year. Let him get into a
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: game and do that and get picked off, And that's
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: the best way to learn. You have to do that.
- 1:39:41Speaker 7: Some people have to see it and actually believe to
- 1:39:45Speaker 7: believe it.
- 1:39:45Speaker 6: You know how your parents will tell you not to
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: jump off the table one hundred and fifty times, and
- 1:39:49Speaker 6: then you do it and you bust your leg open,
- 1:39:51Speaker 6: and then.
- 1:39:51Speaker 7: You won't do it again.
- 1:39:52Speaker 8: It's like, Okay, why did that seem awfully specific not me.
- 1:39:56Speaker 7: But you don't have siblings. I have brothers. They don't listen.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: Jumping off tables. Oh yeah, stove his hot. Don't touch it,
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: you know, like some people just have to do it.
- 1:40:07Speaker 7: You have to do it to believe it.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: Aboard it, snap, aboard, aboard, just as Kean White was
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: getting ready the city soda.
- 1:40:15Speaker 9: So I didn't like that.
- 1:40:16Speaker 8: Now it's a little extra business.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Oh, booty blockings blocking, nice catch.
- 1:40:24Speaker 4: Baker downfield from Joe Milton whips one downfield? Is that
- 1:40:32Speaker 4: dial and coverage that wash?
- 1:40:34Speaker 7: Is?
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: He is?
- 1:40:35Speaker 9: He just celebrating there? Yeah, that was about four sacks.
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: On that point.
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: Underwood came running. I couldn't even see the quarterback. I
- 1:40:44Speaker 4: just thought it was it was Milt Milton just through
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: an absolute missile down that's about fifty yards sixty yards down.
- 1:40:50Speaker 8: Okay, and Jake May hands on head.
- 1:40:54Speaker 9: And see that's another one of those that you guys
- 1:40:56Speaker 9: have been talking about.
- 1:40:57Speaker 7: It was the double pump.
- 1:40:59Speaker 8: Yes, it was the double the double pomp, and I'm
- 1:41:01Speaker 8: flat for enough's gonna flick it? Yes, guy, not in
- 1:41:05Speaker 8: this league. A lot to learn celebrating in the end zone.
- 1:41:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I would just say that the blocking on these
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: these blue legs have been a disaster.
- 1:41:15Speaker 8: Ice clean pocket there see. Now when get in the
- 1:41:18Speaker 8: clean pocket, like they can flow the ball. Yeah, all
- 1:41:21Speaker 8: of these guys, like you just got to give.
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: Him a little time. I'm enjoying himself out here. By
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: the way, he always gave salute to his offense there.
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: Well he gave he they he should.
- 1:41:32Speaker 8: That was like, really, that was probably the best pocket
- 1:41:35Speaker 8: they've had all camp on that play, and he fired
- 1:41:38Speaker 8: one for about a fifteen yard concture.
- 1:41:41Speaker 4: I'm kind of liking having man Milton. I'm not gonna
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: lie like I just I want this team to be
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: like everybody else there. I want this seem to be
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: a Super Bowl contender. And like taking shots on quarterbacks,
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: I'm all for it. And it's just that, like Milan,
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: it just adds a little bit of spice to cam.
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: I don't you know, maybe he ends up on the
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: practice squad whatever, But like taking chances on guys with
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: unique and special athletic traits, it's it's.
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: What I mean, just the guy, no reward. Yes, they're
- 1:42:09Speaker 6: both going to be projects. They have a lot of
- 1:42:11Speaker 6: work to do. But if you don't risk it and
- 1:42:14Speaker 6: goop for guys.
- 1:42:14Speaker 5: Like that you're not going to get the reward.
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I mean, I just like Milton's energy. Man,
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: he kind of like it does it's.
- 1:42:21Speaker 8: It's a little bit like Cam didn't seem to like
- 1:42:22Speaker 8: it when it was Taekwon that much the same guys
- 1:42:25Speaker 8: with unique but Skinny is not one of them.
- 1:42:30Speaker 9: Cold strange. Well, I mean they had two drafts ago.
- 1:42:35Speaker 8: They had a draft full of individually athletically gifted guys
- 1:42:39Speaker 8: at their positions. They were like the most that guy,
- 1:42:43Speaker 8: don't stop doing it.
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: And every and everyone.
- 1:42:45Speaker 9: No, I'm just saying, like every one of them didn't
- 1:42:46Speaker 9: pan out.
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: Yeah, well, it's just difference between Joe Milton day three
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: and and Taekwon Thornton day two mm hm and.
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: So hopefulntoning into the season, he made some catches and
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: then he got hurt.
- 1:43:02Speaker 7: We were never hopeful of coolsetering.
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: Never. Yeah, and I did.
- 1:43:08Speaker 8: I mean I was not the most vocal opposer to
- 1:43:12Speaker 8: the Taekwon thought. And that would be Evan who wanted
- 1:43:15Speaker 8: to quit and he wasn't even working for us.
- 1:43:20Speaker 5: I didn't help. Do you submit that clip lives online though?
- 1:43:23Speaker 5: Before you hired me, Like f y, I.
- 1:43:27Speaker 8: It's pre existing condition.
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: It's not covered on it, sure, so not a lot
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: of milling around we're heading. It was like we're going
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: a little competitive maybe, right, yeah, maybe we can get
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: like a little bit of you know again once again.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: In past years by now, you would have had at
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: least one session of special teams.
- 1:43:51Speaker 5: Right, So they did, they've been they did early on,
- 1:43:54Speaker 5: but they're they're not. Actually they weren't putting any blockers
- 1:43:57Speaker 5: out there. They did the same thing yesterday. I thought
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: Bart was going to cry because he hasn't pulled out
- 1:44:01Speaker 5: his stopwatch yet to do any hangtimes or anything like that.
- 1:44:04Speaker 5: And both of us could not remember our time on
- 1:44:07Speaker 5: the beat where the Patriots did so little special teams
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: like Bill Belichick practice.
- 1:44:14Speaker 9: It's actually a huge check in the male category.
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: Everyone no special.
- 1:44:19Speaker 5: The fact that we haven't seen any field goal kicking,
- 1:44:22Speaker 5: any live punting, none of it, which is pretty wild.
- 1:44:25Speaker 7: Yes, it was the most special teams that we've seen
- 1:44:28Speaker 7: so far.
- 1:44:29Speaker 5: At least you can explain away the kickoffs by maybe
- 1:44:32Speaker 5: they're trying to hide what they're going to do schematically
- 1:44:34Speaker 5: with the new return rules. But like the punting in
- 1:44:36Speaker 5: the field goal kicking is is a real surprise.
- 1:44:39Speaker 9: So it's going to be another full team period here.
- 1:44:42Speaker 8: But it's Drake May with a a lot of a
- 1:44:46Speaker 8: lot of secondary guys, Wallace and pretty much an entire
- 1:44:50Speaker 8: secondary Baker going to defense.
- 1:44:53Speaker 9: Yeah, as a lot of different numbers out there.
- 1:44:56Speaker 8: As close as he can get to the bottom of
- 1:44:57Speaker 8: the depth shot.
- 1:44:58Speaker 4: Yeah, Jabon Baker has a little Sorry, sorry, I didn't
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: mean to that insulting.
- 1:45:01Speaker 8: Just I called them secondary players. You said as close
- 1:45:04Speaker 8: as you can get to the bottom of the battle.
- 1:45:07Speaker 8: I think this day David is that David Wallas. Yeah,
- 1:45:09Speaker 8: that's David Wallison.
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: Uh, you know Brady was still here, he would be
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: that year's this year's like slot guy that everybody's.
- 1:45:14Speaker 9: Like quick, good time. He's quick.
- 1:45:19Speaker 4: I honestly, he was one of the guys that I
- 1:45:21Speaker 4: kind of underlined just when they had that rookie camp
- 1:45:23Speaker 4: and then they had.
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: A bunch of tryouts. He just he's quick. He moves out.
- 1:45:27Speaker 8: I forget where he went to school, A small school.
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever heard of it, but but
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: he's he's got some quickness. Yeah, he looked very good there,
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: very good. Drake Conna just arm angle a little little.
- 1:45:39Speaker 8: Randolph Macone is that Virginia. I'm gonna guess that, Geldia. Yeah,
- 1:45:48Speaker 8: Drake wanted a gun and there's this pressure.
- 1:45:50Speaker 6: In his.
- 1:45:52Speaker 8: See, I would rather if he's gonna pump like that,
- 1:45:54Speaker 8: I'd rather him do what he just did. He just
- 1:45:56Speaker 8: scramble and get what you can all day, then the
- 1:46:00Speaker 8: reset flip off your back foot stough pick six.
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: Maybe they coached him that way between now and that
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: last playboll Fred's got a lot of maybes going on too.
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: Have you noticed that?
- 1:46:10Speaker 4: Yeah, So I'd just like to say, like, I think
- 1:46:12Speaker 4: everything Paul has said, and you know, being a little
- 1:46:14Speaker 4: critical of Polk start, I think everything Paul has said
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: is true. I just find it encouraging that going back
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: to Mini camp, you're looking at may throw it to
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: Polk a lot. I mean, he just looks like he
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: has his eye out for him and you know they're
- 1:46:27Speaker 4: they're developing a little bit of chemistry.
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: I'd say, so they both have had some growing paints today.
- 1:46:32Speaker 4: No question, it's not perfect, but you know, just going
- 1:46:35Speaker 4: back to the days of you know, all the receivers
- 1:46:37Speaker 4: that have been through here and they're just quiet, they
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: don't really get targeted. You don't even know if they're here,
- 1:46:42Speaker 4: has been one that that gets a gets some action.
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: I just caught a little quick out, a little toe tapper. Yeah.
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: I like those, the quick outs.
- 1:46:49Speaker 5: Three that those timing routes, the two of them definitely
- 1:46:52Speaker 5: seem to be building up some chemistry, you know, the.
- 1:46:56Speaker 8: Two the two plays that he had an opportunity to
- 1:46:58Speaker 8: sort of run routes, ate some space for himself today,
- 1:47:01Speaker 8: I thought.
- 1:47:02Speaker 9: And one of them was against Gonzales.
- 1:47:03Speaker 8: Yeah, so I did like that, the fact that I
- 1:47:06Speaker 8: saw at least a glimmer of him creating some separation.
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: But I don't think anyone's going to sell it. He's
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: ever going to be a burner. But it's not fast enough.
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: Is he fast enough?
- 1:47:13Speaker 8: That's that's why I thought, because I kind of thought
- 1:47:15Speaker 8: he was like, you know, a route runner, you know,
- 1:47:17Speaker 8: less athlete, more tech, you know, technician Jerry Rice.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: But he's also I just I thought, oh.
- 1:47:25Speaker 8: Hasty, that was a nice pass right there where you
- 1:47:30Speaker 8: can get right there to catch right there and nice
- 1:47:32Speaker 8: the middle of the field throw. I like May when
- 1:47:37Speaker 8: those when those work, they look very.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: That is the play that Drake May became the start.
- 1:47:44Speaker 5: Three plays after the pick for what for what it's
- 1:47:47Speaker 5: worth he threw pick to Jude on. We talked a
- 1:47:50Speaker 5: lot about, you know, responding to adversity and how does
- 1:47:53Speaker 5: he bounced back and a couple of completions here in
- 1:47:56Speaker 5: this last elevens. I mean, Paul made a good point
- 1:47:58Speaker 5: that it was against some backup and things like that,
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: but it didn't look like he he cratered after the interest.
- 1:48:04Speaker 9: So let me ask you something. You know, Fred said,
- 1:48:06Speaker 9: you know, maybe there was something he was coaching.
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: You know, I'm gonna.
- 1:48:09Speaker 8: Throw a Fred, maybe do you think maybe he got
- 1:48:11Speaker 8: those reps because of the way he ended the previous session.
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: Could we just want to get you out there. It's
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: not going to be with the start, you know, get.
- 1:48:19Speaker 8: We don't want the last thing that you did to
- 1:48:21Speaker 8: be a pick to you know, or whatever same thing
- 1:48:23Speaker 8: Milton's getting right now. Yeah, I mean, I just wonder
- 1:48:26Speaker 8: if maybe he got a couple of extra reps against
- 1:48:29Speaker 8: backups because of the way he finished the previous I
- 1:48:32Speaker 8: like that.
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: It's interesting though it was only twelve thirty and I
- 1:48:34Speaker 4: think we're supposed to still have another half hour.
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: That's some therapeutical coaching by Alex van Pel Get him
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: back on the get him back on the tracks on
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: Field Therapy.
- 1:48:44Speaker 4: See you see Milton was just uncorble. Here's just throwing
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: it out there. Fred's got it being facked all.
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: That's what your show does.
- 1:48:53Speaker 9: Yeah, and you make fun of my show.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: Sort of the moody.
- 1:49:00Speaker 8: Something.
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: It's just fun to say sometimes, you know, there's words
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: just fun to say.
- 1:49:04Speaker 8: Body booty by you.
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: Get booty in the buyo. But zooka. Joe's having a good,
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: a good fun time today. Yeh, he's enjoying himself.
- 1:49:13Speaker 9: I would say he's having a lot of fun.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: The guy did a backflip he did.
- 1:49:17Speaker 9: I just like you have this advertise you have to.
- 1:49:19Speaker 4: Be feeling good to do a backflip, or they're like
- 1:49:21Speaker 4: days like I'm feeling back like because I feel like
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: there's be certain days.
- 1:49:23Speaker 8: I'm like, I just I can't. I can't backflip today.
- 1:49:26Speaker 8: You think that I've ever contemplated that, That's what I
- 1:49:28Speaker 8: was trying to get to ball.
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: I've never contemplated either. But I can't imagine that every
- 1:49:32Speaker 4: day you're you're feeling backflip worthy. Although Joe Milton might
- 1:49:35Speaker 4: look like you can uncourt that one.
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: To hurt yourself. That was a great catch. What was that?
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: That's Jake Quay Jackson Jackson, the ball was behind him.
- 1:49:49Speaker 9: That's a couple of touch for him today.
- 1:49:51Speaker 6: Though, interesting that someone wrote in about this number the
- 1:49:55Speaker 6: very beginning of the show and he's gotten a.
- 1:49:57Speaker 7: Lot of countries today.
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: That was that was a missile by it and miss
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: but he had to completely reach.
- 1:50:02Speaker 8: No, I know it's chiropractical. I know, I like pulled
- 1:50:05Speaker 8: his body with him, but the ball just comes out
- 1:50:07Speaker 8: different he does. I mean his physical skills are events, yeah.
- 1:50:11Speaker 5: Sharing yeah, I mean you just watch the the ball
- 1:50:16Speaker 5: on those drive throws, like I know, everybody gets caught
- 1:50:19Speaker 5: up in how far he can throw it, but it's
- 1:50:21Speaker 5: far more important him driving.
- 1:50:23Speaker 8: The ball on the line through the middle of I
- 1:50:25Speaker 8: think virtually every quarterback in the league can throw the
- 1:50:27Speaker 8: ball roughly as far as you know, the same, like
- 1:50:30Speaker 8: within five yards. His will get there five minutes before everybody.
- 1:50:34Speaker 8: That's the difference, yep, from back to pass like that,
- 1:50:39Speaker 8: just like it goes from his hand fifteen yards in
- 1:50:42Speaker 8: a like a millisecond, and.
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: It doesn't give the defense a chance to break. Is
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: that eighty eight?
- 1:50:48Speaker 9: No, Unfortunately he doesn't complete enough of those passes.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: Well, I mean but.
- 1:50:52Speaker 9: Today, I gotta be fair.
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: He's had a good couple of days. I mean today
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: fled by Joe Milton. Could you, mystery remind get to
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: the rest of the team that I can do that
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: you can't. I'd drake next summer is like, you know,
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: I gonna say, yay.
- 1:51:06Speaker 8: You know you think he's going to spend the whole
- 1:51:08Speaker 8: off season practicing backflips.
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: I'm good with him now he has done that with
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: Bill Belichick the head coach. I don't know. We saw
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: Jamie Collins do some backflips.
- 1:51:18Speaker 8: It's amazing. I'm all these things happened. They actually did
- 1:51:22Speaker 8: happen when Bill was here.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: That's true about this backflip stuff.
- 1:51:28Speaker 9: I don't know what that's I don't know how much
- 1:51:30Speaker 9: you get out of that.
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: Is that work? Is that worth a third down stop
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: and getting off the field.
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:51:36Speaker 8: Why don't you put like bread bags on everybody came
- 1:51:41Speaker 8: out with bread bags on his hands because he just
- 1:51:42Speaker 8: had a manicure or something like.
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: I have no idea. That's what people were saying. Remember
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: when he was on the plane with a mask the
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: whole time? Really what like like before it was stylish? No, no,
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: not not a I'm talking about a Halloween man. Really. Oh,
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: it's really weird.
- 1:51:56Speaker 4: Scarc always seemed to me like the beat of his
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: own drum.
- 1:52:01Speaker 9: But how the guys seem to really like him.
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: We're talking about right now, Yamy him him.
- 1:52:10Speaker 5: You know what, I talked to him about Mayo when
- 1:52:13Speaker 5: I read that story and she was a totally different guy.
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: And I joked with him about it. I was like,
- 1:52:19Speaker 5: if you had given us answers like this when you
- 1:52:21Speaker 5: were here and didn't duck us all the time. And
- 1:52:23Speaker 5: he was like, yeah, you know, I just as Bill, like,
- 1:52:25Speaker 5: you know, I just wanted to follow the rules and
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: you know, not not overstep or anything like that. But
- 1:52:30Speaker 5: he's actually a very personable guy when when you talk
- 1:52:34Speaker 5: to him.
- 1:52:34Speaker 4: All right now we're front line players, always got front
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: line guys, and Anthony Jennings.
- 1:52:39Speaker 8: Is out there just for those keeping track with.
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: We're walking through and we're walking let him catch you.
- 1:52:46Speaker 9: Yeah, so they it was it's they were winding it
- 1:52:48Speaker 9: down and now we're doing that.
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: Little walkthrough here throw you're supposed to complete that. Come on,
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: So maybe a good time Matt Morrell to take an
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: the break. But before we do, I want to remind

- 1:55:45Speaker 1: All right, back here at practice, Patriots practicing a little
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: field goal right now. Who's that Rylan?
- 1:55:53Speaker 7: Oh?
- 1:55:53Speaker 9: No, that's uh oh, that was Rylan.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: Oh that's Rylan. Yeah. Okay, thirty seven first first time,
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: first time we see the field goal unit out there.
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: How's he been doing so far? Making them all? I
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: think he made the first one that I just saw.
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: Was that the first one? Guy? The second one? I
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: make them both? I think I think I've got both makes.
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: I got thirty from the left past both made, and
- 1:56:17Speaker 4: then I had thirty from the middle, thirty five from
- 1:56:19Speaker 4: the middle hash made.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: That's uh, well, look good, Jeremy spring of the new offensive.
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: I mean, special teams coordinators. Got a big wide brim
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: hat out there. A lot of energy from him. He's
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: one of those high energy special coordinators. Yep, how you doing?
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: All right? No on, it's just about thirty eight, I
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: guess thirty eight.
- 1:56:52Speaker 13: Yeah, thirty eight yards, pad Ryland, h let's see anybody,
- 1:57:09Speaker 13: no reaction, no reaction.
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: I honestly could not tell you Duggart was given help.
- 1:57:13Speaker 9: I can't tell.
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: I can't tell you. Gotta wait till they know it
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: all time. It looks straight, looks straighten up, and they
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: should have somebody under there giving you the signal. Snap down,
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: kick balls on its way. The Patriots are Super Bowl champions.
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: That one might have looked like high. They high fived
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: after they did. All right, I'll give it. I don't know.
- 1:57:45Speaker 4: I don't know what's going on, but if I had
- 1:57:47Speaker 4: this guest, I missed that one. All right, forty left hash.
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: Now from forty Patriots down by two. We're in Buffalo,
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: slight breeze, left to right, snap hole kick, it's up.
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: It's good, it's good. Yeah.
- 1:58:18Speaker 9: I mean they're slapping five.
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: After every kah. It's okay, you'll get the next one.
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: I can only assume that. I know that's a dangerous
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: assumption to make.
- 1:58:27Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: It's okay, it's okay, you got that. That's what'll do.
- 1:58:30Speaker 8: Some encouragement, like we're just trying to get to snap
- 1:58:33Speaker 8: hold right, you know, Foxboro high. All right, sir, Now
- 1:58:37Speaker 8: we're going Joey slide forty left hand.
- 1:58:43Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: That looked pretty good to me. That looked good.
- 1:58:45Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, I don't think anybody.
- 1:58:47Speaker 8: Has missed one. But I just I'm just basing it
- 1:58:50Speaker 8: on body language. After they kick, all right, they're slapping
- 1:58:54Speaker 8: five with the holder and when jogging and that might
- 1:58:57Speaker 8: be it. We're sitting at an angle. Yeah, team's coming in.
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: What if he says, good third day today, Fred? Is
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: that all right with you? It's not really the third days,
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: well for a lot of them, it is.
- 1:59:11Speaker 9: For who a lot of the players it's their third day.
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: Really, they weren't here for a mini camp or anything
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: like that. Oh, we're not counting. We're counting mini camps
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: because we're told that they stack these things. I mean,
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: is that Mapo man? I don't know.
- 1:59:23Speaker 8: He's kind of like I'm moving weird.
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: He's just like walking over to the huddle, but it
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: was like speed walk. I looked like he didn't want to.
- 1:59:31Speaker 13: I don't know.
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: It seemed like he might be dealing with something lower body.
- 1:59:36Speaker 9: His mao doing the talking in there.
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: Let me see, yes, yes, yep, yep.
- 1:59:44Speaker 4: Day off tomorrow now, so is it a day off
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: for the team or are they do they still have
- 1:59:48Speaker 4: work to do?
- 1:59:49Speaker 8: Believe the players on the list Waiter's day off.
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that they have to.
- 1:59:54Speaker 9: I believe they mandated one out of every five days.
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: Yeah, so with three onward, three off them? Will U Yeah,
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: I said, well I did. Technically, I think Tuesday counts. Yeah,
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: so they've been four. Yeah, they probably like did the
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: testing and stuff conditioning test.
- 2:00:09Speaker 5: Yeah, but this five day acclimate reacclimation period, it is
- 2:00:14Speaker 5: required that they.
- 2:00:15Speaker 8: Take a And that's what led to the confusion with
- 2:00:18Speaker 8: Mayo calling it's seven practices as opposed to seven days.
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: Right, be fair to Mayo. It's confusing. I've read it
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: in the CBA.
- 2:00:26Speaker 9: I say the same thing every year.
- 2:00:27Speaker 5: It's the wording, like you, I need like just to
- 2:00:30Speaker 5: translate it, like I need a lawyer to like really spell.
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: Out what they're trying to say, because lawyers.
- 2:00:36Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, they're they're they're confusing, Like it's just confusing wording.
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: Hey, do you guys think they'll still do the the
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: Rookie Olympics with the water? Oh? I don't know. That's
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: a good good question. Or will they come up with
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: something new? Right? Are posing for a picture here.
- 2:00:59Speaker 13: What's going on? I don't know.
- 2:01:01Speaker 7: They're meeting in their position groups.
- 2:01:02Speaker 4: Offensive line, yeah, receivers, Cardona says, yeah, I don't need
- 2:01:06Speaker 4: to do any of that.
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: The life of a long snapper.
