- 0:18Speaker 1: it's always like some sibling that's just like, yo, you
- 0:22Speaker 1: owe me, you owe me. I'm like, oh, did you
- 0:26Speaker 1: write the songs? Did you go on the road? But
- 0:29Speaker 1: friends too, you know, people think that they access to
- 0:31Speaker 1: you is like that ensures them a position somewhere because
- 0:36Speaker 1: only in music and entertainment how we work. Dude, niggas
- 0:38Speaker 1: think we just got jobs laying around like like I
- 0:41Speaker 1: remember I got I got a job in like one
- 0:43Speaker 1: of my homies he said to me, like, yo, bro,
- 0:45Speaker 1: what I gotta do?
- 0:46Speaker 2: I be at the janitor.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I'm like, yobro, I'm a vice president of an R
- 0:50Speaker 1: at a label. How the hell would I know anything
- 0:52Speaker 1: about what the janitor does? You know what I'm saying,
- 0:55Speaker 1: But it's some level of entertainment. People just think, I
- 0:57Speaker 1: guess because of how much money rappers and they like, well,
- 1:01Speaker 1: if Ferrari, if you interviewing rappers and he got that
- 1:04Speaker 1: much money, you gotta at least have one hundred million,
- 1:07Speaker 1: Like you know what I mean. That's how people think,
- 1:09Speaker 1: and you know, they just get nervous from the truth.

- 1:52Speaker 1: Hey man, broadcaster line for the Niggel Law Firm Studios.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Welcome to the Ball Alert Show. I go by the
- 1:57Speaker 5: name Ferrari Simmons.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I go by the name you know BT in the
- 2:00Speaker 1: buildings Long Overdue absolutely to someone in the industry with
- 2:08Speaker 1: astute background. Everything about you checks out with my brother,
- 2:13Speaker 1: and I'm happy to see you doing content and posting content.
- 2:17Speaker 5: I feel like.
- 2:19Speaker 6: Your mind is has a has stuff that we probably
- 2:23Speaker 6: would never.
- 2:25Speaker 5: We can never amount to the things that you had
- 2:27Speaker 5: the knowledge that you have.
- 2:28Speaker 7: Bro.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Man' that's I'm honest, you know what I mean, that's you.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I think like that, but I just be talking.
- 2:34Speaker 4: That's how you talk on the regular.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, like bro, even I never I never had doing
- 2:39Speaker 1: media on my white board division board.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It's just like something that kind of happened for me.
- 2:44Speaker 1: But I was the dude who was stayed after I
- 2:46Speaker 1: get my haircut for two hours to just talk, you
- 2:49Speaker 1: know what I mean, or be on a block argu
- 2:50Speaker 1: with everybody from the time I was a kid, so
- 2:52Speaker 1: I got older. So I just applied that and my
- 2:55Speaker 1: my knowledge.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I have the things to the situation. You know what
- 2:58Speaker 2: I mean. Whatever I'm talking about.
- 3:00Speaker 6: See what I'm trying to say is it's people that
- 3:02Speaker 6: do media to be in media, but there's also people
- 3:04Speaker 6: that who they are. It just happened to vibe with
- 3:08Speaker 6: me because B T and IR on the radio. So
- 3:11Speaker 6: we have a radio show. Our podcast is just an
- 3:15Speaker 6: extension of our radio show. Our opinions are an extension
- 3:19Speaker 6: of what we do for our day job on the radio.
- 3:22Speaker 6: So what you do as your your A and R ship,
- 3:27Speaker 6: your everything that you do. I feel like when you
- 3:29Speaker 6: talk on the mic, Yeah it's media, but your opinion matters.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I appreciate that.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Man, I ain't gonna lie because it'd be people who
- 3:37Speaker 1: hate my opinion too. It's just comment, you know. I mean,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you could take people to heaven and they gonna complain.
- 3:43Speaker 6: The comments comment section, it's a whole different population of
- 3:47Speaker 6: everybody you at the airport in the comments, everybody.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Is content and TC will tell you'all be like man
- 3:57Speaker 1: his ship fire like watching your ship. You But I mean,
- 4:00Speaker 1: you know, to think that everybody's supposed to agree with
- 4:03Speaker 1: you with some sort of sign of arrogance. I don't care,
- 4:05Speaker 1: like I'm gonna say what I got to say regardless
- 4:07Speaker 1: you feel me. So I don't even pay no attention
- 4:09Speaker 1: to that. But like, I just care about getting it done.
- 4:12Speaker 1: That's my biggest thing, you know what I mean, I
- 4:14Speaker 1: started doing You're a professional, yeah, man, But you know
- 4:17Speaker 1: it's crazy, bro. It came out of desperation what I'm
- 4:19Speaker 1: doing right now because I had to like pivot into
- 4:22Speaker 1: something like I was doing, you know, every day struggle.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I did that for three years and then I had
- 4:27Speaker 1: a show with Amazon that nobody knew existed, you know
- 4:30Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And I got paid a ton of money,
- 4:32Speaker 1: but I didn't get a chance to like really get
- 4:34Speaker 1: my stuff off. I could talk, Oh I ain't get
- 4:37Speaker 1: a chance to get my shit off, you feel me.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So it's like a couple of years ago, I just
- 4:42Speaker 1: bought a bunch of cameras. I bought too much stuff.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I bought cameras, lights, everything, and I was like, I'm
- 4:45Speaker 1: just sit down and learn how to do it so
- 4:47Speaker 1: I could do it on a daily basis. I wanted
- 4:48Speaker 1: to put myself in a position to where, like ESPN
- 4:51Speaker 1: when it's breaking news. You know, if yesterday I was
- 4:54Speaker 1: watching the trade deadline all day because I knew every
- 4:56Speaker 1: time it's an update, somebody they gonna talk about it.
- 4:58Speaker 1: So that's what I'm doing with hip hop, Like if
- 5:00Speaker 1: something happens, I do it in my crib. So it's
- 5:02Speaker 1: like when something happens, if I'm home, I could just
- 5:04Speaker 1: knock it out. And now when I'm on the road,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I know how to record on my own and edit
- 5:07Speaker 1: and all that. So I'm just trying to be as
- 5:09Speaker 1: consistent as possible with this shit.
- 5:10Speaker 4: There.
- 5:11Speaker 5: It is that the ending thing. And I was telling
- 5:13Speaker 5: my daughter.
- 5:14Speaker 6: My daughter's eight, and she wants to do a YouTube page,
- 5:16Speaker 6: and I'm trying to explain to her the word consistency
- 5:19Speaker 6: or she's not now my bad, and she don't understand
- 5:22Speaker 6: that yet.
- 5:24Speaker 5: When she's looking at YouTube, it's fun to her.
- 5:27Speaker 6: And when people like even my contemporaries, my parents, my friends,
- 5:32Speaker 6: they think what we're doing is fun and it's actually
- 5:36Speaker 6: a job and very difficult to really stand out. And
- 5:40Speaker 6: I don't think people really understand that until they say, oh,
- 5:43Speaker 6: I gotta.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Do this lot all the time, all the time.
- 5:47Speaker 6: Every week's fifty two weeks in a year, every week
- 5:50Speaker 6: five to maybe ten to maybe twenty times in one week.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Yeah, oh no, actually nah.
- 5:56Speaker 7: But then you're going against the algorithm, and you like, okay,
- 6:00Speaker 7: you gotta put out certain content that feeds the algorithm,
- 6:02Speaker 7: so you can at least show up on other people's
- 6:05Speaker 7: I feel like a mediaine respect and the.
- 6:09Speaker 6: Gratitude comes at the end because anybody can do it.
- 6:15Speaker 5: Listen to it. Listen to me.
- 6:16Speaker 6: Guys like a teacher right now, can go in there
- 6:18Speaker 6: and start talking about being a teacher. It's an audience
- 6:21Speaker 6: for anything. You can talk about scuba gear, it's gonna
- 6:25Speaker 6: go into a Scooby gear algorithm. You could talk about
- 6:27Speaker 6: making turkey wings or fall off the bone. It's gonna
- 6:30Speaker 6: he's gonna get into the algorithm. Whatever you think about.
- 6:33Speaker 6: I installed. I said this one time in another episode,
- 6:35Speaker 6: I installed a microwave door. My wife bought a microwave door.
- 6:40Speaker 6: We was gonna pay this handy man. I was like, man,
- 6:42Speaker 6: let me.
- 6:43Speaker 5: I found it on TikTok how to install a microwave door.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It's crazy that you say that.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Well, I want you to finish your place, I say,
- 6:49Speaker 1: because look right, So, bro, I've been living down here
- 6:53Speaker 1: almost five years now. I've never seen a tree fall
- 6:56Speaker 1: in my life until I moved in here.
- 7:00Speaker 4: New York.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I'm from New York born and raised. I've never seen
- 7:02Speaker 1: a tree fall in my life.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Bro. So with this, this past storm that just happened.
- 7:07Speaker 1: A tree fell right and it broke h Like it
- 7:10Speaker 1: fell on my driveway, but it broke like the like
- 7:13Speaker 1: the pillars and uh in between. I don't know what
- 7:15Speaker 1: that's called, but it broke the ship right. So I'm
- 7:17Speaker 1: sitting here like, damn, it's probably gonna cost me like
- 7:19Speaker 1: three bands to cause some mighty break break down this
- 7:22Speaker 1: street because it caused bread like you know what I mean?
- 7:25Speaker 2: Man, I just was like, I got a chainsaw, mind you.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I've never even seen a real chainsaw till two years ago.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I'm not making this up, bro, I never had that.
- 7:33Speaker 1: You never have no need for a chainsaw in New
- 7:35Speaker 1: York City.
- 7:37Speaker 2: So I went. I had a smaller chain, so I
- 7:39Speaker 2: went and bought enough.
- 7:40Speaker 1: When I say, oh, I'm gonna cut this tree down,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna make an episode out of it. And I
- 7:43Speaker 1: just sat and I set up my camera outside and
- 7:45Speaker 1: was cutting the tree and people. I didn't put the
- 7:47Speaker 1: episode out, but I put some of the stuff on
- 7:49Speaker 1: my sociales and people was like engaged with it, you
- 7:51Speaker 1: know what I mean.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I was like, shit, man, turn.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Your limits and the lemonade at eight time every every time,
- 7:56Speaker 1: as long as something that you're comfortable showing, you know
- 7:59Speaker 1: what I mean. If it's not stuff that you're comfortable showing,
- 8:01Speaker 1: and don't do it. But other than that, man, I'm whatever.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm making content out of everything.
- 8:07Speaker 6: My last point before we really kind of dive into
- 8:09Speaker 6: an interview, I learned that the algorithm is you. You
- 8:12Speaker 6: set your own algorithm so people can tune in into
- 8:15Speaker 6: what you're talking about, and if you promote it correctly,
- 8:17Speaker 6: it's going to go no matter how many followers you got,
- 8:19Speaker 6: no facts you can go on. So one page right now,
- 8:22Speaker 6: BT and I have a content page that it's a
- 8:25Speaker 6: Ferrari and BT's content page, but it has four point
- 8:27Speaker 6: one million views the last thirty days because we're.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Just consistently doing content.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Of course, we're doing a lot of collapse, but the
- 8:33Speaker 1: page is doing well and it's growing fat at a
- 8:36Speaker 1: fast pace, mainly because we're putting out the right content
- 8:40Speaker 1: and doing it.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Consistently anyway, in her consistency for sure.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Man, listen, man, I wanted to talk to you about
- 8:45Speaker 5: a couple of things.
- 8:46Speaker 6: Number one, trending because this is gonna have to come
- 8:49Speaker 6: out soon, right Gloilla, Yeah, and her sister. I think
- 8:54Speaker 6: her sister is trying to get into that algorithm you think.
- 8:57Speaker 6: So let me tell you why this is some ship
- 9:01Speaker 6: that we didn't need to know. I don't I don't
- 9:06Speaker 6: care about someone's personal life if I'm a fan of
- 9:09Speaker 6: their music, I care about their personal life if they
- 9:12Speaker 6: bring us into it. Right, some people talking about your
- 9:14Speaker 6: relatives and how you treat them, unless you're opening that
- 9:19Speaker 6: door for us.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Golorella never opened that door.
- 9:22Speaker 4: She said.
- 9:22Speaker 6: She literally talked about her mom and how she take
- 9:24Speaker 6: care of mom and do stuff like that. I heard
- 9:26Speaker 6: her shout out her boyfriend for the first time, but
- 9:29Speaker 6: she never went into her cousins and her sisters and
- 9:32Speaker 6: her siblings.
- 9:34Speaker 5: If you don't bring.
- 9:34Speaker 1: That up, it's probably never gonna come across our timeline
- 9:38Speaker 1: unless now the sister went crazy though, like she went,
- 9:43Speaker 1: come on, y'all went, I think you've given her too
- 9:47Speaker 1: much credit. I don't think she I don't think she
- 9:50Speaker 1: the brightest crayon in the box for real, for real.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I think that like she just ain't no nothing else
- 9:57Speaker 1: better to do. Like now, I mean, I think that
- 10:00Speaker 1: all of us have possibly dealt with some sort of
- 10:02Speaker 1: family members of friends thinking that we got more than
- 10:04Speaker 1: we got or asking for something that's super unreasonable. But
- 10:07Speaker 1: I just think that, like, after hearing her speak, I'm like,
- 10:10Speaker 1: I understand why she don't give you shit, Like for real,
- 10:12Speaker 1: I understand why she don't give you nothing. What you're
- 10:14Speaker 1: talking about moms too, though, Yeah, her moms and so
- 10:17Speaker 1: this see now that she didn't put it in our lives.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Now, everybody got their own assumptions.
- 10:22Speaker 5: The problem didn't put this.
- 10:24Speaker 4: She didn't.
- 10:25Speaker 2: She didn't.
- 10:25Speaker 1: But what I thought about was like, all right, I
- 10:27Speaker 1: got I got three kids, right, and I'm sitting here like, yo,
- 10:30Speaker 1: your mom's got you got ten kids? She kept saying,
- 10:32Speaker 1: he got ten siblings. Yeah, it's not ten children. These
- 10:35Speaker 1: is your siblings, not your children. And I'm pretty sure
- 10:38Speaker 1: most of them are adults now by her keep talking
- 10:41Speaker 1: about all of these siblings and all that, Who knows
- 10:44Speaker 1: if if she don't resent her moms because of all
- 10:46Speaker 1: this stuff she had to go through growing up, you
- 10:48Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like, I know we would like
- 10:50Speaker 1: to believe that once you get money, you're just like,
- 10:52Speaker 1: oh yeah, let me just take care of everybody.
- 10:53Speaker 2: But that's not how that shit works.
- 10:54Speaker 1: That's not how money works. Of NBA players and NFL
- 10:58Speaker 1: players go broke.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Anyway, I don't.
- 10:59Speaker 1: When broke take that asks like I don't and it's
- 11:03Speaker 1: like I don't like this whole narrative that. And you
- 11:05Speaker 1: see this a lot in our culture when somebody becomes famous,
- 11:08Speaker 1: and it's always like some sibling that's just like.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Yo, you owe me, you owe me. I'm like, oh,
- 11:15Speaker 5: did you write the songs?
- 11:17Speaker 4: Did you go on the road?
- 11:18Speaker 1: But friends too, you know, people think that they access
- 11:21Speaker 1: to you is like that ensures them a position somewhere
- 11:25Speaker 1: because only in music and entertainment how we work. Doude
- 11:28Speaker 1: niggas think we just got jobs laying around like like
- 11:31Speaker 1: I remember I got I got a job in like
- 11:33Speaker 1: one of my homies he said to me, like, yo, bro,
- 11:35Speaker 1: what I gotta do?
- 11:36Speaker 2: I be a janitor.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, bro, I'm a vice president of an
- 11:39Speaker 1: r at a label. How the hell would I know
- 11:41Speaker 1: anything about what the janitor does? You know what I'm saying,
- 11:44Speaker 1: But it's some level of entertainment. People just think, I
- 11:47Speaker 1: guess because of how much money rappers make, and they like, well,
- 11:51Speaker 1: if if you interviewing rappers and he got that much money,
- 11:54Speaker 1: you gotta at least have one hundred million, you know,
- 11:57Speaker 1: what I mean, that's how people think, and you know,
- 12:00Speaker 1: they just don't know from the truth. It's the first year,
- 12:03Speaker 1: it's crazy. But then never mind, like you taking care
- 12:05Speaker 1: of your.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Own and what you got going on. That gorilla don't
- 12:08Speaker 2: got no kids or nothing.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And when she got the opportunity to speak about that,
- 12:11Speaker 1: she will, But like it's just she her sister went crazy.
- 12:14Speaker 2: The twenty five hundred dollars shit yo yo.
- 12:16Speaker 1: When she said twenty five hundred, it's like she just
- 12:19Speaker 1: give us all twenty five hundred.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Are you doing all this for twenty five hundred dollars?
- 12:22Speaker 1: Nah?
- 12:22Speaker 2: I want to know what.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Made her calculate.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I think she thinks she's not the brightest crayon in
- 12:27Speaker 2: the box.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I think that she believed twenty five hundred is twenty
- 12:31Speaker 1: fifty thousand, because why would you say twenty twenty five hundred.
- 12:35Speaker 5: She probably forgot to put a couple of zero, That's
- 12:37Speaker 5: what I'm saying.
- 12:37Speaker 1: So even if it was twenty five thousand, I'd be like,
- 12:39Speaker 1: you're doing all that for twenty five bins, Nah, bro,
- 12:43Speaker 1: you had to think it was she might have caught
- 12:45Speaker 1: stage fright and was on TMZ. It just thought it
- 12:47Speaker 1: because it's no way possible you meant twenty five hundred. Now,
- 12:50Speaker 1: if she meant twenty five hundred, there's no way possible.
- 12:53Speaker 1: She's bright at all.
- 12:54Speaker 7: Well, she definitely ruined her relationship with her sister because
- 12:58Speaker 7: now it's not even to get five hundred dollars.
- 13:02Speaker 5: No, it's the worst now.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's nasty.
- 13:04Speaker 6: Well, I wanted to ask you, man, because I know,
- 13:07Speaker 6: I know, I know, I know, I know being the
- 13:10Speaker 6: VP of A and R could be very annoying. And
- 13:16Speaker 6: a lot of vps of A and rs that I
- 13:18Speaker 6: know are very quiet. Because well, you correct me if
- 13:24Speaker 6: I'm wrong. It's a hey man, put me on, Hey bro,
- 13:27Speaker 6: put me on. I know you could write me a
- 13:28Speaker 6: check right now. You could change my life right now.
- 13:32Speaker 6: All you gotta do is put me on.
- 13:34Speaker 5: Bro.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I need some money. I'm broke and I can wrap
- 13:36Speaker 1: a little bit. Nah, Bro, we on the radio so
- 13:41Speaker 1: I get a little bit of that. No, it's crazy,
- 13:44Speaker 1: it's really crazy, bro, especially like for myself, Like I
- 13:48Speaker 1: would not I'm not no gangster or nothing like that,
- 13:50Speaker 1: but I come from the street. So it's like you
- 13:52Speaker 1: when you're dealing with people that you grew up with
- 13:55Speaker 1: or was around in the street when you was younger.
- 13:57Speaker 2: They only hold you.
- 13:58Speaker 1: To who you was when you was fourteen fifteen. Now
- 14:01Speaker 1: you're in your thirties, they think that you got the
- 14:03Speaker 1: same relationship. A lot of people know you but don't
- 14:05Speaker 1: know you for me, So it's like, yeah, I ran
- 14:08Speaker 1: into every I'm talking about, bro, everything from friends to
- 14:12Speaker 1: people being titled Yo. One time a nigga told me,
- 14:15Speaker 1: he said, he says something about how I don't got
- 14:18Speaker 1: like certain people around me. And then I said, I said, bro,
- 14:20Speaker 1: like when I went through anything, like, let's not talk
- 14:23Speaker 1: about money and anything glorious.
- 14:25Speaker 2: If I want what do you know about me?
- 14:27Speaker 7: Like?
- 14:27Speaker 1: What do you actually know about me? Do you know
- 14:30Speaker 1: like where I was born? Do you know my last name? Like,
- 14:32Speaker 1: and you've known me for probably thirty years, but do
- 14:34Speaker 1: you know me? You've never been in my crible even
- 14:37Speaker 1: when we was younger. So it's like that level of
- 14:39Speaker 1: entitlement just by knowing somebody, because no bullshit. I had
- 14:42Speaker 1: a dude one time he hit me and he like, yo,
- 14:46Speaker 1: I got some producers they fired at the time. I'm
- 14:50Speaker 1: working at a label and I got four artists signed
- 14:52Speaker 1: to like major labels and stuff that's managed by me
- 14:55Speaker 1: and I got artists that I signed to the label
- 14:56Speaker 1: that I'm working at. I'm like, you'll send me some
- 14:59Speaker 1: sea like I want to have a sit now. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: might send me some stuff right now, like I got
- 15:03Speaker 1: open budgets. He said, what you too good for a
- 15:05Speaker 1: sit down?
- 15:07Speaker 4: I might?
- 15:08Speaker 2: But you know what that is. You know what that is.
- 15:10Speaker 1: That's a nigga saying what I'll call waino right now yo,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and thinking I'm supposed to do something just because you
- 15:16Speaker 1: called me, you know what I mean?
- 15:17Speaker 2: They want to think that, but but you know what
- 15:18Speaker 2: I don't.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I don't answer my phone, and I stand on like
- 15:21Speaker 1: I stand on my square forever, like you're not gonna
- 15:23Speaker 1: play with me, you know what I mean, thinking that
- 15:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna do something for you. People don't never want
- 15:28Speaker 1: to go through the struggle with you. Every everybody want
- 15:30Speaker 1: to clap when you win it, but not even a struggle.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Are you even qualified?
- 15:34Speaker 4: Are part?
- 15:35Speaker 2: Are you even qualified?
- 15:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna keep it. I would.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I wouldn't hire my moms. I wouldn't hire my moms.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Are you qualified? Like?
- 15:43Speaker 1: Are you so you think I get this? Because people
- 15:45Speaker 1: think that music like you said, this is all fun?
- 15:48Speaker 1: So you think as me being an R that and
- 15:50Speaker 1: then you know people like oh, sales hit records, like
- 15:54Speaker 1: who wants to do that?
- 15:56Speaker 2: How do you think the licen is on in this,
- 15:57Speaker 2: mam Bro.
- 16:00Speaker 4: I think people get paid.
- 16:01Speaker 6: So when I had the job when I worked at
- 16:03Speaker 6: Warner Records, I was the national director of mix show
- 16:06Speaker 6: Promotion and I had to fly to Marcus to talk
- 16:08Speaker 6: to different pds. My job was to be, you know,
- 16:12Speaker 6: to identify who the pds were and if I had
- 16:15Speaker 6: one of the times I had an mL chopper with
- 16:18Speaker 6: Lil Wayne record anyway, but I would have to go
- 16:20Speaker 6: fly to the market at lunch and meet about my
- 16:23Speaker 6: priorities and do they fit this particular station. If they do,
- 16:26Speaker 6: what are some things I could do to get this
- 16:29Speaker 6: started here? And Bro the level of me just having
- 16:34Speaker 6: a corporate card and people calling my phone for favors
- 16:38Speaker 6: because but I'm in promo, so you would have thought
- 16:42Speaker 6: I was a high ranking A and R and I
- 16:45Speaker 6: can write you a check right now and change your life.
- 16:47Speaker 6: And I had to start explaining myself, and then I
- 16:50Speaker 6: just stopped explaining to myself. It was the fact that
- 16:53Speaker 6: Ferrari works at Warner Records and he's taking this artist here,
- 16:58Speaker 6: here and here, not knowing that I have I have
- 17:00Speaker 6: three bosses. We don't have eighteen meetings on the.
- 17:03Speaker 2: You're working off of a budget that's allocated.
- 17:06Speaker 5: It's allocated.
- 17:07Speaker 1: No, no, no, this is Ferrari's money that he's taking
- 17:09Speaker 1: out his money.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's rockey, Yo. It's only and you had to
- 17:17Speaker 2: do expenses and that's a bitch.
- 17:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I've never done my expenses.
- 17:23Speaker 5: That my corporate car got cut off just because I
- 17:25Speaker 5: was new.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I didn't got cut off a few times over here
- 17:28Speaker 2: like this.
- 17:29Speaker 1: My cam was like I got cussed out, like for
- 17:31Speaker 1: you're fucking up?
- 17:32Speaker 2: You know that label shit They talked to you like ship,
- 17:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so crazy.
- 17:35Speaker 5: No, niggas don't understand, bro, because.
- 17:37Speaker 1: They put peeted on view what it is as an
- 17:39Speaker 1: actual job. It's like, BRO, if I have a friend
- 17:43Speaker 1: that is a trainer for the Los Angeles Lakers, I
- 17:45Speaker 1: can't just go chill at the facility just because my
- 17:48Speaker 1: man is the trainer that niggas want to come chill
- 17:51Speaker 1: in the studio.
- 17:52Speaker 2: What you're going to do?
- 17:53Speaker 5: Heying to work, bro.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Niggas think, oh he would, I can't come around like
- 17:59Speaker 1: all right, what you're gonna come around it just so
- 18:00Speaker 1: that you could say it's your rect because they don't
- 18:02Speaker 1: view it as a job.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I say this all the time, Bro.
- 18:04Speaker 1: If I was the VP of Emery hospital and my
- 18:09Speaker 1: an r and is hiring the next best surgeon or
- 18:12Speaker 1: the next best nurses and all of that, niggas would
- 18:15Speaker 1: not be signing up because you know that you can't
- 18:17Speaker 1: skip the line in that you have to do the work.
- 18:20Speaker 4: See.
- 18:20Speaker 1: The thing is is that people think if I listen
- 18:23Speaker 1: to music, i'm qualified to I could pick a song.
- 18:26Speaker 2: That's that's how they think I could pick a song.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I listened to music all the time.
- 18:28Speaker 4: I could pick a song.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Or even media I talk, I should started a podcast.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Like that's what people think, but they don't understand.
- 18:35Speaker 7: Yeah, because it looks so easy, Like nobody's going to
- 18:38Speaker 7: say I'm gonna go to school and be a surgeon.
- 18:40Speaker 4: I'm going to go to school for ten years.
- 18:41Speaker 7: If people sit there and told everybody, oh, if you
- 18:44Speaker 7: want to be in this industry, it takes ten years.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they curve. They curved, bro.
- 18:50Speaker 1: My oldest my oldest daughter, they told us she was
- 18:52Speaker 1: going to be a doctor. When she's in the tenth
- 18:54Speaker 1: grade by the time she's about to graduate college. She said,
- 18:56Speaker 1: I ain't doing that. I'm going to the finance. She's like,
- 18:59Speaker 1: she said, I want to be in debt. She's like,
- 19:01Speaker 1: I don't want to be in debt and I don't
- 19:02Speaker 1: want to be in school for another seven years, so
- 19:04Speaker 1: I'm going to find it. But that's her understanding that
- 19:06Speaker 1: when you try to break that down to like and
- 19:08Speaker 1: that's the problem we be. We be having this broken
- 19:11Speaker 1: wing syndrome where we try to fix shit. So I
- 19:15Speaker 1: had a one time somebody asked me could I pay
- 19:18Speaker 1: they pay a bill for them, And at the time,
- 19:20Speaker 1: my daughter was going into school, and I started writing
- 19:24Speaker 1: this long text message explaining why I couldn't, and I raced.
- 19:27Speaker 2: I was like, no, cause what.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Gives you the right to ask me? Now listen, don't
- 19:34Speaker 1: get me wrong and give you about to be on
- 19:35Speaker 1: the street. I'll do whatever I can, but you ain't
- 19:38Speaker 1: pay your bill that you signed up for, and you
- 19:41Speaker 1: want me to take over your bill for you so
- 19:44Speaker 1: that you can owe me and owe the bill too.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Nah, Oh, that's the worst.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Camera.
- 19:48Speaker 6: This is my camera TC. I am fresh out of favors.
- 19:52Speaker 6: My wife is so boogie. I got five kids, my mom,
- 19:56Speaker 6: her mom, my dad. That is literally my family. I
- 20:00Speaker 6: gotta make sure they're straight. And there's literally nothing you
- 20:04Speaker 6: have to be dying for me to say, all right,
- 20:09Speaker 6: here you go. Literally nobody helping me handle my business
- 20:15Speaker 6: as a man every month, man. And when I crossed
- 20:19Speaker 6: the finish line, it's like, oh, here go another rays
- 20:21Speaker 6: because the bills is due every month, every month, and
- 20:24Speaker 6: in our line of work, you gotta kill what you eat.
- 20:29Speaker 5: I could make a whole bunch of money one month
- 20:31Speaker 5: and then for three months my.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Shit, so he slow.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it gets like that.
- 20:34Speaker 5: That's how our shit works.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Then people don't know nothing about it. Man, if you're
- 20:38Speaker 1: a homeowner, don't asks a homeowner for nothing. Yeah, don't
- 20:41Speaker 1: ask a homeowner for nothing. That three units in my
- 20:43Speaker 1: house like flex and the two of them went out.
- 20:47Speaker 1: She was four thousand dollars because it didn't get approved
- 20:49Speaker 1: by the homeless, our homeless assurance man. I had to
- 20:52Speaker 1: get squirrels out of my crib window. Oh she cost
- 20:55Speaker 1: me six bands, bro, squirrels. I was like, y'all, can't
- 20:59Speaker 1: just go up there?
- 20:59Speaker 5: And how much do you remember how much I told
- 21:03Speaker 5: you to get my deck painted? How much did I
- 21:05Speaker 5: tell you.
- 21:05Speaker 4: I think you told me what it was like twelve thousand.
- 21:08Speaker 5: It was for grand it was four thousand dollars to
- 21:11Speaker 5: paint my deck.
- 21:14Speaker 1: That's why I've been starting to I've been on my
- 21:15Speaker 1: home improvement ship on my own now because I'm tired
- 21:17Speaker 1: of paying people. Because the wood that I decided to
- 21:21Speaker 1: do my dead game started was gonna was threatening to
- 21:24Speaker 1: ride a little bit, so I had to paint to
- 21:26Speaker 1: hold it or I don't know what the fun that's
- 21:28Speaker 1: all the money people who people who work on home
- 21:30Speaker 1: contracts contract.
- 21:33Speaker 7: Because because they know you don't know right now, they
- 21:36Speaker 7: see something, Oh, that's gonna be six thousand.
- 21:38Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm having PTSD from this conversation.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Let's change the time in front. That's it's that real.
- 21:44Speaker 5: But I just want I just want.
- 21:45Speaker 1: To give your flowers, bro, because I feel like, you know,
- 21:48Speaker 1: on some real ship, we're fans of other people who
- 21:51Speaker 1: do good content, and I could feel as organic.
- 21:54Speaker 2: And authentic from you.
- 21:56Speaker 6: So we just want to cross promote each other because
- 22:00Speaker 6: I don't like the fake ship that I'll be seeing
- 22:03Speaker 6: and I be I see the cap in a lot
- 22:05Speaker 6: of media people, but we.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Just try to like to collab with folks that ship.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I'm honest, man, I hate listen. I'll be listening in
- 22:13Speaker 2: the morning. I always hear you every morning. I got
- 22:15Speaker 2: when you do that with.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Me and Amy with right.
- 22:19Speaker 1: You know, I think I know that BT Lawyer.
- 22:24Speaker 5: On our podcast, but on the radio, what what.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Would you do if you had?
- 22:29Speaker 1: It's like, because I got five kids, Bro, I was
- 22:31Speaker 1: that should I had every morning when I'm taking my
- 22:34Speaker 1: daughter to school. Fact now, But I like what your
- 22:36Speaker 1: brothers is doing too. Man.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Like I said, I'm honing to be on the platform for.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Now, I want to talk about the Rockefeller your intern days.
- 22:45Speaker 5: Boy, how was that want?
- 22:47Speaker 1: Some bullshit you had to deal with? That was just
- 22:49Speaker 1: like everything you want to be like, you know what,
- 22:51Speaker 1: I'm out. No, I never was out, Okay, I never.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I never was out, bro, because I like my my circumstances.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I didn't have nothing to I didn't have, bro. People
- 23:01Speaker 1: don't be believing.
- 23:02Speaker 5: For those who don't know what internship? Did you not?
- 23:05Speaker 1: Not to interrupt my pol what did you do at
- 23:07Speaker 1: Rockefeller as an intern?
- 23:09Speaker 7: Well?
- 23:10Speaker 5: Or just start?
- 23:11Speaker 1: I started so I started out working in the mill room.
- 23:14Speaker 1: So the guy who walks around the office dropping off
- 23:17Speaker 1: magazines whatever.
- 23:19Speaker 2: That was my job.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I got that job, fella, No, not for Rockefeller. It
- 23:22Speaker 1: was for the building, for the building. But this is
- 23:24Speaker 1: the time of I got that job. I think in
- 23:27Speaker 1: two thousand, I was seventeen years old. I was on
- 23:30Speaker 1: the brink. My mom was just about to send me
- 23:32Speaker 1: to South Carolina to live with my aunt because I
- 23:34Speaker 1: was messing up bad.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I had dropped out of school.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I was messing up in the street doing a bunch
- 23:38Speaker 1: of stuff I had no business doing. And she was like, yo,
- 23:40Speaker 1: you gotta get a job. I'm not going to be
- 23:42Speaker 1: working eight hours a day and I come home. I
- 23:44Speaker 1: got to cook for you and your sister after I
- 23:45Speaker 1: do and work. You got to do something to contribute
- 23:47Speaker 1: to the household. Like all right, bet it's real.
- 23:49Speaker 4: She get me.
- 23:50Speaker 2: She helped me get the job. I get the job.
- 23:52Speaker 1: First day on the job and I'm walking around and
- 23:54Speaker 1: they like, I see the murder ink stuff, right, I
- 23:58Speaker 1: see murder ink.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Im Like I'm a kid, bro. I didn't know.
- 24:01Speaker 1: I didn't even know that record labels had offices like
- 24:04Speaker 1: you would see it in a movie or something. Not really,
- 24:05Speaker 1: I didn't, So I thought I was like, this got
- 24:07Speaker 1: to be a joke or something, and we went. We
- 24:09Speaker 1: came back downstairs. The dude that was training me, he
- 24:11Speaker 1: showed me Nelly Nelly album What's the Country Grammar? That's
- 24:15Speaker 1: the name his first album. He showed it to me.
- 24:17Speaker 1: He said, read what it said on the back, and
- 24:19Speaker 1: he said, read the address. I said, eight twenty five
- 24:21Speaker 1: eighth Avenue. He's like, yeah, this is the building. He's like,
- 24:23Speaker 1: this is Universal Music Group. Everybody know UMG is now
- 24:26Speaker 1: because of the Drake shit, you know what I mean,
- 24:27Speaker 1: But like that was the Universal Building.
- 24:29Speaker 2: So I was like for real.
- 24:30Speaker 1: So prior months months prior, I seen the movie backstage
- 24:34Speaker 1: with jay Z and DM Mexican Alan was on tour,
- 24:36Speaker 1: and when me and all my friends went to see that,
- 24:38Speaker 1: I was like, yo, I'm gonna get music. I don't
- 24:40Speaker 1: know what I'm gonna do. I wanted to be a rapper.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Of course, everybody I had to at least yeah, at
- 24:45Speaker 1: least try, you know what I mean. But that wasn't
- 24:47Speaker 1: for me. I was like, I seen like Ti, I
- 24:50Speaker 1: seen Tata, I seen Lennyes, I didn't know them at
- 24:52Speaker 1: the time. I seen skiing and I was like, I
- 24:55Speaker 1: don't know what they do, but maybe I could be
- 24:56Speaker 1: on the roll with the artists like them. And then
- 24:58Speaker 1: I got the job in the mirrorm. Then I got
- 25:01Speaker 1: cool with people in the building because I was the
- 25:04Speaker 1: youngest person in the Miry room. All these niggas was
- 25:06Speaker 1: like in the twenties, close to thirties. Some of them
- 25:08Speaker 1: was rappers, some of them was just you know, had
- 25:10Speaker 1: the job to have a job, So I was cool.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I got cool with Onmi, who ran Jay Z's fan club,
- 25:15Speaker 1: and it was my floor. I had, I had hugged,
- 25:18Speaker 1: I had, I had Family Tree. Family Tree was big
- 25:20Speaker 1: Blue Management. Well, family Tree Management, the dude that managed outcasts,
- 25:25Speaker 1: it was his management company. Carter Faculty was a j
- 25:29Speaker 1: Z label that didn't really get off the ground. Murdered inc.
- 25:31Speaker 1: And it was the Royalty Department. And then above that
- 25:35Speaker 1: you had Lifetime was in that building too. You had
- 25:38Speaker 1: who else was in there depth Jim murdered Ink, Rockefeller
- 25:42Speaker 1: DMX label, Bloodline. I think Berg was signed to them
- 25:45Speaker 1: at one point in time. All that I was in
- 25:47Speaker 1: one building. So as a kid, I'm just like trying
- 25:49Speaker 1: shit out, trying to figure out how could get in,
- 25:51Speaker 1: and then got fired from the mirroom. I'm a fast
- 25:53Speaker 1: trackert got fired from the mirror room, asked my homegirl Sharry.
- 25:58Speaker 1: She ended up being the exact one thing about Rockefellers.
- 26:01Speaker 1: It breeded just as many executives as it did artists.
- 26:04Speaker 1: And I asked, Sharry, could I just come to the
- 26:06Speaker 1: office a day because I didn't have nothing to do
- 26:08Speaker 1: after I got fired, bro Like, I was just like,
- 26:11Speaker 1: if I'm just chilling that day, it's gonna go bad
- 26:15Speaker 1: for me. So I just started going to the office.
- 26:16Speaker 1: And then I didn't know what the internship was. They
- 26:19Speaker 1: just told me, like, will give you an internship, and
- 26:20Speaker 1: I did that like three to four months, and then
- 26:24Speaker 1: I got an assistant and our job, and then you know
- 26:26Speaker 1: what I mean. And when I got the assistant and
- 26:28Speaker 1: our job, then I started working on people mix tape,
- 26:31Speaker 1: state albums, working with the artists and all of that stuff.
- 26:34Speaker 1: But now I'm like nineteen, you know what I'm saying.
- 26:36Speaker 1: So that's when Cam and all of them was there,
- 26:39Speaker 1: you know what I mean, I got a chance to
- 26:40Speaker 1: see a lot of shit, feel me, but it never
- 26:42Speaker 1: occurred to me to, nah, I'm gonna give up on
- 26:45Speaker 1: this because I didn't have not I literally had nothing else,
- 26:48Speaker 1: Like I dropped out of high school. Bro, I was
- 26:50Speaker 1: I was supposed to be going to college around this time.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I'm like, if this don't work, i don't know what
- 26:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna do, I'm gonna just be in the street
- 26:56Speaker 1: like some of my friends. And some of my friends
- 26:58Speaker 1: didn't make it feel me. So I was, I gotta
- 27:00Speaker 1: stick with this, And I told my moms like my like,
- 27:03Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna
- 27:04Speaker 1: do this music stuff. She's like, all right, go ahead
- 27:06Speaker 1: do it. Like I was my mom's only child for
- 27:08Speaker 1: ten years, so we grew up together. So she was
- 27:10Speaker 1: always like big on whatever I could think of, you
- 27:12Speaker 1: could do it. So she like, if you believe in that,
- 27:14Speaker 1: go ahead and go do it. I'm like, you ain't
- 27:16Speaker 1: gotta worry about nothing. Just go do that because it's
- 27:18Speaker 1: gonna keep me off my block and keep me from
- 27:20Speaker 1: doing dumb shit.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Feel me.
- 27:22Speaker 5: No, that was fire. I note pause. They found a
- 27:26Speaker 5: little John's son deceased in the bottom of the lake.
- 27:28Speaker 4: She don't.
- 27:30Speaker 5: When we're done, we gotta update some breaks in the system.
- 27:33Speaker 4: He dry he killed hisself.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Well we'll get more details. But yeah, oh damn, I.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Was hoping that, bro, you know he used to be
- 27:41Speaker 2: over here eating.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Yes, bro, I know the kid. I remember.
- 27:44Speaker 2: That's crazy, that's unfortunate.
- 27:46Speaker 7: Man. I how do you feel about DDG when he
- 27:50Speaker 7: made that tweet about streamers are more influential than celebrities Now.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Well he said rappers right, Well, by.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Celebrities rappers celebrities, I mean.
- 28:01Speaker 2: He living in this time, in this era. Like I'm
- 28:03Speaker 2: older than DDG.
- 28:04Speaker 1: So I can't even like, I can't even really counter
- 28:08Speaker 1: what he's saying or try to say he not selling
- 28:10Speaker 1: the truth because I don't know what it is to
- 28:12Speaker 1: be a kid in this era. I know when I
- 28:14Speaker 1: was a kid, if I'd have seen Michael Jordan, I'd
- 28:16Speaker 1: have lost my dimn mind. You know what I mean
- 28:18Speaker 1: When I seen rappers, I would lose my mom when
- 28:21Speaker 1: I was a kid. But now like fame and start
- 28:23Speaker 1: him coming so many different packages now you feel me.
- 28:26Speaker 2: So it's like I can't say that he wrong. You
- 28:28Speaker 2: know what I'm saying.
- 28:28Speaker 1: You see these do a dude like DDG go from
- 28:30Speaker 1: doing YouTube and being successful to being a rapper and
- 28:34Speaker 1: being successful as a rapper, having a hit record, you
- 28:37Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And then I mean he was
- 28:39Speaker 1: doing streaming all of that same time, and then he
- 28:41Speaker 1: showed that he made twelve million in a month, Like, yeah,
- 28:44Speaker 1: people were so into people's lives that they care more
- 28:47Speaker 1: about the bank account than the actual talent.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean so it's like.
- 28:51Speaker 4: What what is influenced now?
- 28:53Speaker 2: Like it's the same thing it's always been.
- 28:55Speaker 1: But I just think it's like, you gotta keep in mind, man,
- 28:58Speaker 1: I don't know how oldg'all is, but we probab be
- 29:00Speaker 1: older than.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Okay, I'm forty three, you know what I'm saying.
- 29:04Speaker 1: So were from the same you you from the same
- 29:05Speaker 1: generation as us too, Like so you grew up in
- 29:08Speaker 1: a time where one O six and park mattered, or
- 29:11Speaker 1: like you had to you had to be at a
- 29:13Speaker 1: destination to see what you wanted. Now now everything is
- 29:16Speaker 1: at the tip of your fingers paused. Uh, you know
- 29:19Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Whenever you want to watch something, feel me.
- 29:22Speaker 1: So it's like you got the opportunity to pick what
- 29:24Speaker 1: you want. And these these kids and these younger people
- 29:26Speaker 1: are picking what they want whenever they want. So they
- 29:28Speaker 1: are building them into something that we don't even understand
- 29:31Speaker 1: because we know we're not even in that world.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Feel me.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I don't. I don't think me personally, I don't. I
- 29:35Speaker 4: don't think influence are more influential than than real celebrities.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Influencers, yeah, but they celebrity.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I don't.
- 29:42Speaker 7: I don't think streamers are more ship you see speed,
- 29:45Speaker 7: he's different.
- 29:46Speaker 5: He's he's a streamer.
- 29:48Speaker 2: He's a streamer though.
- 29:49Speaker 7: No, but we said streamers, we're talking about people.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I mean he's also yeah, this levels, he's also in
- 29:55Speaker 1: that very very small percentage of the biggest names in anything.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Because if you want to he.
- 30:00Speaker 7: Attached yourself to, he attached yourself to Christian Ronaldo, who
- 30:03Speaker 7: is a real select smart streamer.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but at the same time, before he got to
- 30:09Speaker 1: attaching himself to Christian Ronaldough he had a massive fan
- 30:12Speaker 1: base online.
- 30:14Speaker 2: So it's like the thing is and this is how
- 30:16Speaker 2: it is today. There's no excuses.
- 30:17Speaker 1: If you have a phone and you have the Internet,
- 30:19Speaker 1: and you have an idea, you can get that shit
- 30:21Speaker 1: off throughout the world if you consistency, like you said
- 30:24Speaker 1: from the beginning. But if you think that it's not that,
- 30:27Speaker 1: then it's like anything else.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Bro.
- 30:29Speaker 1: It's like you see George Calin said, kids, he made
- 30:33Speaker 1: this analogy about kids. He's like kids is like any
- 30:35Speaker 1: other group of people, if you win as a whole
- 30:36Speaker 1: lot of losers, you know what I'm saying, Like for real,
- 30:39Speaker 1: that's really You're gonna have people that are going to
- 30:42Speaker 1: be the best at whatever it is, and you're gonna
- 30:44Speaker 1: have people that watch and never try and talk down
- 30:48Speaker 1: on or try to dispel whatever they got going on.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I think that in that world.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I mean, if I was a kid, bro, I would
- 30:54Speaker 1: be watching Speed Costs and not all them dudes all
- 30:57Speaker 1: day because I don't watch them as much, but as
- 31:00Speaker 1: a forty three old man, I tune into what they
- 31:02Speaker 1: got going on. So if I was fifteen, yeah, this
- 31:05Speaker 1: guy might be more influential to meeting Lebron because I
- 31:08Speaker 1: know now with all the information that I most likely
- 31:11Speaker 1: won't be Lebron, And that to me, to me, that's
- 31:14Speaker 1: what that's what influence is like when I think about influence,
- 31:18Speaker 1: because I love what the streamers are doing. I love
- 31:21Speaker 1: how you know, I love the community that they have,
- 31:24Speaker 1: and I wish people in radio and people like in
- 31:27Speaker 1: media in general had that type of community. You know,
- 31:30Speaker 1: because radio and media, like other media outless has always
- 31:34Speaker 1: been like.
- 31:35Speaker 4: You over here in this gang, and you and this game,
- 31:37Speaker 4: and we can't work.
- 31:38Speaker 7: Together stream period. It's like we coming together as a community.
- 31:42Speaker 7: We're gonna collab even with podcasters.
- 31:44Speaker 5: Podcasters don't think about a stream though.
- 31:46Speaker 6: When you really think about a stream, it's a large
- 31:48Speaker 6: amount of people watching you talk basically on the podium,
- 31:53Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying. On the radio, it's a
- 31:55Speaker 6: little bit more strategic, right, you kind of know your audience,
- 31:58Speaker 6: like we know our audience major already, women, folks getting
- 32:02Speaker 6: off work, stuck in traffic, and we're playing music for them.
- 32:04Speaker 6: The streamer, you don't necessarily. You have some streamers that
- 32:07Speaker 6: play music, you have some streamers that don't. One thing
- 32:09Speaker 6: in common is it's a large amount of people that
- 32:12Speaker 6: are watching one person do whatever it is that they
- 32:15Speaker 6: do on the radio. We have to play music. That's
- 32:18Speaker 6: what they come to us for. So a streamer, I
- 32:20Speaker 6: feel to me, a large streamer, like a speed he
- 32:24Speaker 6: is more influential than whoever you can think of, because
- 32:28Speaker 6: he's one of the best. But it depends on what
- 32:32Speaker 6: you're talking about.
- 32:34Speaker 2: What's the best radio?
- 32:36Speaker 5: So I think in the world, it.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Depends on what you're talking about.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Because it's like, I hate the fact that like when
- 32:41Speaker 1: you are a certain age of demographic that people not saying
- 32:44Speaker 1: you do. When people act like it like you just
- 32:46Speaker 1: disappear off the earth, right, Like if somebody talk like
- 32:49Speaker 1: people say something about jay Z. Right. I remember I
- 32:51Speaker 1: used to argue at academics about this all the time,
- 32:53Speaker 1: and he was talking about Drake and how big Drake
- 32:55Speaker 1: is as an artist. I'm like yeah, and I be
- 32:56Speaker 1: like yeah, but like and I'm like so as a
- 32:59Speaker 1: jay Z fan growing up, me and the millions of
- 33:01Speaker 1: people that bought his albums, we just disappear off the earth,
- 33:04Speaker 1: like we have no say so anymore. We don't exist
- 33:06Speaker 1: because this is the biggest person right now.
- 33:08Speaker 2: No, Like, two things could be true.
- 33:10Speaker 1: He has his influence in his fan base right now,
- 33:13Speaker 1: and the people who love this artist have are still here.
- 33:16Speaker 5: Let me agree with that and add look at Ti Ti.
- 33:19Speaker 5: I just dropped a banger and.
- 33:21Speaker 6: Then everybody that's fortying up, Oh, we love it, streaming
- 33:25Speaker 6: the fuck out of that song. Yeah, and you gonna
- 33:27Speaker 6: see and I said it earlier, You're gonna see how
- 33:29Speaker 6: many fans he truly.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Hash Bro this is the best. This is one of
- 33:32Speaker 1: the best times ever hip hop. I'm not gonna lie,
- 33:34Speaker 1: it's one of the best times ever because yeah, young rappers,
- 33:38Speaker 1: we didn't have that, but we can appreciate see like.
- 33:43Speaker 2: A king.
- 33:43Speaker 1: That album is about to be twenty years twenty years old.
- 33:46Speaker 1: This year in my Mind by Pharrell twenty years old.
- 33:49Speaker 1: What was a THUGB Motivation was twenty years old last year? Right,
- 33:54Speaker 1: But is the inspiration twenty years old this year did
- 33:56Speaker 1: come out?
- 33:57Speaker 2: Inspiration came out O.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Six six, Yeah, twenty years So it's like we at
- 34:02Speaker 1: the age now were like, let's say, even if you
- 34:04Speaker 1: was ten at that time and you couldn't go to
- 34:07Speaker 1: a show, Now you're thirty and you got a couple
- 34:09Speaker 1: of dollars, you can go had the experience that you
- 34:11Speaker 1: couldn't have when you was ten. So we're still going
- 34:13Speaker 1: to support the ship that we grew up on and
- 34:15Speaker 1: it still matters. Like I hate the fact that people
- 34:17Speaker 1: act like old shit because somebody older that it don't matter.
- 34:20Speaker 4: But that's only a hip hop culture.
- 34:21Speaker 2: It's only it's only.
- 34:25Speaker 7: You get old as a black person. They're like, oh,
- 34:27Speaker 7: you're supposed to disappear.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Because nigga want you to addressed like uncle Phil. I'm
- 34:30Speaker 1: never dressing like that, Like you never.
- 34:32Speaker 6: Like I always tell the wayans, just keep waking up.
- 34:35Speaker 6: You're gonna come on over here, and what are you
- 34:38Speaker 6: gonna say?
- 34:39Speaker 7: Then?
- 34:39Speaker 5: Oh?
- 34:39Speaker 2: Chief, Keith is thirty.
- 34:40Speaker 5: This is a blessing, yo, that's crazy.
- 34:43Speaker 2: He is thirty.
- 34:44Speaker 5: It's a blessing to get old back.
- 34:47Speaker 7: But we don't talk about this more. We don't talk
- 34:48Speaker 7: about the blessing of getting older. Because the reason we
- 34:52Speaker 7: interviewed Tall right and y'all announced it was his last album.
- 34:55Speaker 7: And I was like, man, you can't retire because I
- 34:57Speaker 7: don't like hip hop saying we have to retire when
- 35:00Speaker 7: you look at country, you look at pop music.
- 35:04Speaker 1: But you have to also think about not only the music,
- 35:09Speaker 1: but the culture around the music. So I can understand
- 35:11Speaker 1: why he's like, this is my last album because he
- 35:14Speaker 1: ain't about.
- 35:14Speaker 2: To be sitting running around doing interviews.
- 35:16Speaker 4: But he.
- 35:18Speaker 5: Said he wanted to spend more time with his wife.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Yeah. I respect I can respect that.
- 35:23Speaker 7: I can respect that, But like I said, I don't
- 35:25Speaker 7: think that we should be having this age limit on
- 35:28Speaker 7: hip hop.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I don't think he's gonna stop rapping.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I just think it's like rappers never stop rapping, you
- 35:33Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like like even till this day.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Even as much scrutiny as Lil Wayne get if he
- 35:38Speaker 1: on a song with somebody, We're still going to check
- 35:40Speaker 1: for it, you know what I mean? Jay? The same
- 35:43Speaker 1: now is the same shit Andre three thousand. Like if
- 35:46Speaker 1: somebody see hundred three thousand featured, they like, oh nah,
- 35:48Speaker 1: go to that song first. People get excited about that.
- 35:50Speaker 1: They're never gonna stop creating. But it does come a
- 35:53Speaker 1: point in time where like, yeah, I'm not getting on
- 35:54Speaker 1: the court and playing a full court game of basketball anymore.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I still pull up and might shoot a couple of
- 36:00Speaker 1: just sure, I got it, but I'm not gonna be
- 36:01Speaker 1: running up and down the floyd that you can't jump
- 36:03Speaker 1: as high as you used to. You gotta have some
- 36:05Speaker 1: sort of realistic approach. And I hate the word realistic
- 36:08Speaker 1: because I think realistic the word is just the furthest
- 36:10Speaker 1: thing from being realistic when you're being creative. But you
- 36:13Speaker 1: gotta have some sort of approach where you like, all right,
- 36:15Speaker 1: I gotta know one to gracefully about out at certain things.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Not my entire career, but yeah, I might fall back
- 36:21Speaker 1: off of doing the birthday bashes and all of that shit.
- 36:24Speaker 7: Now, But think about this, Taylor, Swift. Nobody's gonna talk
- 36:28Speaker 7: about her age when she got older. She's still gonna do.
- 36:31Speaker 2: She's not older though we don't know yet.
- 36:32Speaker 5: We don't know how old Taylor Swift is.
- 36:34Speaker 2: She's definitely thirty. He's definitely over thirty.
- 36:37Speaker 7: See that's the point. When you look at pop culture,
- 36:40Speaker 7: they never talk about we live.
- 36:41Speaker 2: But culturally with different people.
- 36:43Speaker 1: So it's like, we can't we can't keep pushing that
- 36:46Speaker 1: and culturally we're different people.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Bro.
- 36:48Speaker 1: It's like our youth is bro. All of us have
- 36:50Speaker 1: been the age at twenty, like thirty, got of here,
- 36:54Speaker 1: all of us you like forty, Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Forty fifty.
- 37:00Speaker 4: I ain't gonna lie for you know how I'll.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Be thinking now I'm like fifty, all right, I'm forty three,
- 37:04Speaker 1: and the next seven years I'll be fifty. I'm thinking
- 37:06Speaker 1: about being a grand a grandfather. I'm thinking about all
- 37:09Speaker 1: of these nuances to that. Because we also grew up
- 37:11Speaker 1: with the thirty year old man. The forty year old
- 37:14Speaker 1: man look different than us fast, you know what I mean?
- 37:16Speaker 6: Because if I tell somebody I forty two, they'd be
- 37:19Speaker 6: like for real, Yeah, yeah, they'll be like damn.
- 37:21Speaker 1: You look good.
- 37:21Speaker 5: That's what I'm trying.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Because the forty year olds, we grow these niggas smoking cigarettes.
- 37:25Speaker 1: And drigging beer or looking crazy. It was working old
- 37:29Speaker 1: sitcoms and they'd be like, yeah he was thirty thirty five,
- 37:33Speaker 1: Tres Sanfel was forty two doing this show.
- 37:35Speaker 2: He's like, what, Like, you know what I mean.
- 37:36Speaker 6: One thing that I believe that we're doing as a culture.
- 37:39Speaker 6: I believe that there is a lot of generational curses
- 37:42Speaker 6: that are being broken. My wife and I have a
- 37:44Speaker 6: conversation about making sure we pay the houses off, the
- 37:46Speaker 6: house off a sap.
- 37:48Speaker 5: Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 37:49Speaker 6: I don't want to be what I saw mother fuck's
- 37:52Speaker 6: still paying mortgage in the late sixties.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Yeah no, listen, bro, I didn't even know.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I'm like the first person in my immediate family to
- 38:00Speaker 1: own a house.
- 38:00Speaker 2: So it's like all of this stuff is new.
- 38:03Speaker 1: But even even down the health, bro, like, I'm at
- 38:05Speaker 1: the age now with like I don't lose a lot
- 38:07Speaker 1: of my friends to the streets them, well, I lose
- 38:08Speaker 1: them that health health Like, it's so many friends I
- 38:10Speaker 1: got that they've passed away to having cancer or live
- 38:15Speaker 1: a failure and all these diabetes because they live in
- 38:18Speaker 1: a life of that, and that's that's how it is culturally.
- 38:21Speaker 1: That's why I understand what with T I like, yeah, nah,
- 38:23Speaker 1: because even for myself, Bro, I was like, oh nah,
- 38:26Speaker 1: I'm cool off of like working in rap because culturally
- 38:29Speaker 1: the day to day is just chicken fingers and fries
- 38:32Speaker 1: and bro at least because.
- 38:35Speaker 6: I was missing seven nights a week in Atlanta in
- 38:37Speaker 6: the clubs, I was everywhere all day, every day. I
- 38:39Speaker 6: just do a club one night a week, and very
- 38:41Speaker 6: soon it's gonna be zero nights a week because I
- 38:44Speaker 6: was eating bad. Because keep in mind, you know, it's
- 38:47Speaker 6: always someone celebrating the birthday always, and everyone knows Ferrari
- 38:51Speaker 6: in certain certain clubs, right, So I'm gonna get a shot.
- 38:54Speaker 6: I'm gonna get It was to a point where I
- 38:55Speaker 6: had to take fake shots. Oh I've been doing you
- 38:58Speaker 6: know what I'm saying, Like I don't want to eat.
- 39:00Speaker 6: I love chicken wings, but I get and I get
- 39:01Speaker 6: them for free.
- 39:03Speaker 1: And that's that's another chicken wing sauce, one type of
- 39:06Speaker 1: trap wings. By the way, you know what I'm saying,
- 39:07Speaker 1: it's not by trap trap wings.
- 39:09Speaker 7: Get that.
- 39:09Speaker 5: Rory sauce. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, anyway, my bad,
- 39:11Speaker 5: go ahead.
- 39:11Speaker 7: But your health is health is uh is definitely really important.
- 39:14Speaker 7: And that's the things that like we don't talk about because.
- 39:17Speaker 1: It's like, you know, I'll go do a club, I'll
- 39:19Speaker 1: go host a club, and then I'll be.
- 39:21Speaker 4: Up in the morning. I'll be going to walk and
- 39:22Speaker 4: then I'm seeing everybody in.
- 39:23Speaker 1: My neighborhood that look a little different than me, and
- 39:26Speaker 1: they walking and I caused some of the homies that
- 39:29Speaker 1: was in the club, like weall y'all still sleep Nah.
- 39:34Speaker 6: I know, I know niggas that wake up at five pm.
- 39:36Speaker 6: Facts who start their.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Day start their day, not facts.
- 39:39Speaker 1: And but that's the thing that's the that's culture right
- 39:42Speaker 1: way of life, because that's the part where that we
- 39:45Speaker 1: love so much.
- 39:46Speaker 2: We be leaving that out.
- 39:47Speaker 1: You wanna know why, because we afraid to address that ship.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Don't nothing scare nigga, Like the dentist and the doctor
- 39:52Speaker 1: Broder nothing.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Ny could be the toughest person on the planet. You
- 39:57Speaker 2: gotta go to doctor. You know what I mean, All your.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Mom's nigga's still grown ass man, Mommy, could you set
- 40:03Speaker 1: up a doctor's appointment?
- 40:04Speaker 2: I don't seen it.
- 40:07Speaker 1: So the thing is is like for myself, like I
- 40:09Speaker 1: started saying, I got at in front, I started getting
- 40:11Speaker 1: bored with foo.
- 40:11Speaker 2: All right, let me let me buy a juicer, let
- 40:13Speaker 2: me buy another juice.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Let me start eating different because it's only there's so
- 40:17Speaker 1: many steaks you could have and lopster tails and shrimp
- 40:20Speaker 1: and mashed potatoes. Let's start eating something differently because that's
- 40:22Speaker 1: my biggest thing. Bro, It's like, if I could do
- 40:24Speaker 1: anything that's gonna prolo on my life, I'm doing that.
- 40:27Speaker 1: We all trying to find a secret to life. So
- 40:30Speaker 1: that's why so many people. I used to be like, man,
- 40:32Speaker 1: why these people walking all day in my neighbor. Then
- 40:34Speaker 1: you go to the doctor and the doctor be like.
- 40:36Speaker 4: You need to be walking.
- 40:37Speaker 2: A person that exercises lives longer than the person who doesn't.
- 40:40Speaker 2: That's a fact.
- 40:41Speaker 5: This is one hundred percent.
- 40:42Speaker 1: And exercising doesn't mean that you got to be a
- 40:44Speaker 1: body builder.
- 40:47Speaker 4: I don't under saying.
- 40:48Speaker 6: I'm like, bro, medicine too, movement fast medicine too. One
- 40:51Speaker 6: time for my train of congo. He always tells me
- 40:53Speaker 6: that movement is medicine. If I can't go to the gym,
- 40:56Speaker 6: with him. He was like, man, do something at the crib,
- 40:57Speaker 6: even if it's five minutes, do something.
- 41:00Speaker 4: And wonder what granny had a hunchback?
- 41:02Speaker 1: Bro, the average man can't do seven push ups.
- 41:07Speaker 6: Well, listen man, wayt know. We appreciate you, my brother.
- 41:11Speaker 6: Let's make this a current thing where you it'll stop
- 41:13Speaker 6: buying a couple you know.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not a problem.
- 41:16Speaker 6: And if you ever want to come back on the show,
- 41:17Speaker 6: if you want to, just just hit the crew, hit.
- 41:19Speaker 1: TC, shut it up, bro, for real facts. Now, I
- 41:22Speaker 1: appreciate you having me on here, you know what I'm saying.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Of course, like I been, like, I've been down here
- 41:26Speaker 1: for some time now, so it's good to just you know,
- 41:28Speaker 1: start connecting with people in this realm, you know what
- 41:30Speaker 1: I mean, because I never really connected with people on
- 41:32Speaker 1: the media side down here.
- 41:33Speaker 6: Nah listen man, And we like to reach out too,
- 41:35Speaker 6: because we was talking about who we wanted to interview
- 41:37Speaker 6: this year. We're very intentional this year because I felt like,
- 41:41Speaker 6: you know, with ball Alert always people people always say,
- 41:44Speaker 6: oh MESSI and blog and nah, man, we had real
- 41:47Speaker 6: conversations on the ball or show. It's a lot different
- 41:50Speaker 6: than the blog. Yeah, they'll see something ball Alert and
- 41:53Speaker 6: think it's me posting the ship.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Absolutely, your phone calls all the time talking about I'm Overrio.
- 41:59Speaker 2: You can't give me your job at boiler Alert, though.
- 42:01Speaker 5: It'd be more so of what the y'all talk about
- 42:05Speaker 5: than the more.
- 42:06Speaker 4: So like celebrities like our influence.
- 42:09Speaker 5: Celebrities and influence be mad because they think it's me
- 42:11Speaker 5: and him.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I've done the you know, management, I've had to put
- 42:15Speaker 1: out a lot of fires through the boil alerts in
- 42:17Speaker 1: the shade rooms and all of that. But when the
- 42:19Speaker 1: artists don't realize that you gave the content, like you,
- 42:22Speaker 1: you're the one that posted it. Now you mad that
- 42:24Speaker 1: everybody knows about something you posted?
- 42:28Speaker 2: Yeah you said it is.
- 42:29Speaker 4: Well, go on their phone record a video.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you why, bro, Because they don't know
- 42:34Speaker 1: how to regulate their emotions.
- 42:35Speaker 2: They don't know how to regulate their emotions.
- 42:37Speaker 6: That's not what they're good at. They're good at making music. Yeah, yeah,
- 42:40Speaker 6: but they're really good.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Could. I don't think I could ever manage another adult.
- 42:45Speaker 2: It's I mean, it's a lot. It's a lot like
- 42:47Speaker 2: managing the artists, like managing your kids.
- 42:49Speaker 1: It's like having an adult kid that doesn't know how
- 42:52Speaker 1: to count read. I'm an a team at the radio station.
- 42:56Speaker 1: My PD is out on leave, so I'm the acting
- 42:58Speaker 1: PD and and maintaining adults is a lot.
- 43:04Speaker 2: It's a lot, Yeah, but you appreciate.
- 43:07Speaker 7: I didn't want to ask you one last thing. Did
- 43:09Speaker 7: you and Act ever have a conversation? You know when
- 43:13Speaker 7: you when you did your show and you was talking
- 43:16Speaker 7: about like the difference you.
- 43:18Speaker 4: Know how I just did.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Now we ain't no conversation.
- 43:21Speaker 1: But the thing about me and ACT is like we
- 43:23Speaker 1: have a very good relationship in terms of he knows
- 43:27Speaker 1: that if I say something like I'm never going to
- 43:28Speaker 1: be like, man, fuck this bitch ass, like I'm not
- 43:30Speaker 1: gonna never approach it from that. If I'm gonna say
- 43:32Speaker 1: something about Act, he knows that it's coming from a
- 43:35Speaker 1: place of sincerity. So if I got to say and
- 43:38Speaker 1: I was just saying, this is closing right, like when
- 43:39Speaker 1: I when I wanted to talk about the situation because
- 43:42Speaker 1: he said you gotta address this jay Z picture and
- 43:43Speaker 1: all of that, It's like I never felt in no
- 43:45Speaker 1: way because I've been seeing the picture forever. I was
- 43:47Speaker 1: a kid when they were adults taking these pictures. So
- 43:49Speaker 1: I never thought about it. But then when you add
- 43:51Speaker 1: the proper context, I'm like, yeah, bro, they people say
- 43:54Speaker 1: stuff about you all the time, and because I worked
- 43:56Speaker 1: with you for so long, they think that like I'm
- 43:58Speaker 1: your co conspirator and any thing that happens. So the
- 44:01Speaker 1: same way, how I would not jump off the roof
- 44:03Speaker 1: and assume things about you just because people were saying them.
- 44:06Speaker 1: I worked with jay Z for years, years, was around
- 44:09Speaker 1: this man for years work force company, still got a
- 44:11Speaker 1: relationship with his whole camp and his family and all
- 44:13Speaker 1: of that. So no, I'm not jacking when somebody says
- 44:16Speaker 1: something negative about him personally, and that's not nothing that
- 44:19Speaker 1: I've experienced. And then you get the people saying, oh, yeah,
- 44:22Speaker 1: but you you ain't in a bedroom, then what the
- 44:23Speaker 1: hell are we talking about?
- 44:25Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 44:25Speaker 1: Because if you if you met me, the only thing
- 44:28Speaker 1: that you're gonna leave with is the experience you had
- 44:30Speaker 1: by meeting me, not what a nigga doing.
- 44:32Speaker 2: His personal time, you know what I mean.
- 44:33Speaker 1: So I just leave it at that, and he understood
- 44:36Speaker 1: we'll talk when we talk.
- 44:37Speaker 4: You broke it down.
- 44:38Speaker 7: You broke it down really well because you said, if
- 44:42Speaker 7: I've been around you personally, and somebody tell me something
- 44:45Speaker 7: about you, you're gonna say, well, I've been around this pert.
- 44:47Speaker 2: I mean, he's my own critical thinking.
- 44:49Speaker 5: But use your own think.
- 44:50Speaker 2: I mean, he's my own critical thinker.
- 44:51Speaker 1: But now listen, if a video come out and it's
- 44:54Speaker 1: something crazy, you make adjustments.
- 44:57Speaker 2: You're making adjustments. But people act like that's not a
- 44:59Speaker 2: real thing.
- 45:00Speaker 5: That's a real thing.
- 45:01Speaker 4: That's a real thing.
- 45:02Speaker 2: It's okay, it's my brain. I don't like facts.
- 45:05Speaker 5: We used it for a long time.
- 45:06Speaker 4: Pause.
- 45:07Speaker 1: You know we appreciate you too, Man Nickel Law Firm, Studios,
- 45:11Speaker 1: Ball Alert.
- 45:12Speaker 5: Yeah,
