- 0:00The title of this video. Too many cautions at Texas.
- 0:03Am I being too negative? I want to know what you guys
- 0:07thought of this race yesterday. Mile and a half's usually the
- 0:11best racing for NASCAR during the Next Gen. era.
- 0:16Again, I want to hear from you guys, jump in the comments, let
- 0:19me know. I thought this race was kind of
- 0:22boring, right? It was saved a little bit, I
- 0:26think by a really good ending. Lot of cautions, 12 cautions,
- 0:32OK. And I also look we're we're
- 0:35critiquing NASCAR because we're NASCAR fans.
- 0:38And some people say maybe you're complaining too much, but I
- 0:41think everybody wants the best on track product.
- 0:45And I think sometimes you got to say what could NASCAR have done
- 0:49differently? What was out of their control?
- 0:51For example, both of the of the stages ended under caution,
- 0:57right? That's not in NASCAR's control
- 0:59if you're watching the race. I understand some of you guys
- 1:01don't even like stages. I get that.
- 1:04But if you're if you're looking for the races within a race and
- 1:08each stage ends under caution, that's kind of a bummer.
- 1:13Nothing that NASCAR can control their overall.
- 1:17I just, I didn't think there was a ton of passing.
- 1:21I thought till the end you had some interesting restarts at the
- 1:25end and we'll get to all of this.
- 1:27All right, Explore America, jumping in and starting off with
- 1:32you can't afford to be a NASCAR fan anymore.
- 1:36You know what though? Everything in the world, don't
- 1:39you think everything in the world is just getting too Dang
- 1:42expensive? Everything, right?
- 1:44Not just professional sports, everything.
- 1:46Maybe we will dive into that further, but OK, I'm like, I'm
- 1:51not trying to be overly negative.
- 1:52I think you guys know me. Hopefully you know me by now.
- 1:55I think I'm pretty fair. So Joey Logano wins the race and
- 1:59right when Joey Logano wins, first thing I thought of
- 2:03randomly was Chipper Jones. How about that Chipper Jones,
- 2:08Atlanta Braves legendary Hall of Fame player you probably saw
- 2:12last week? Chipper Jones went on X and was
- 2:16chirping pretty hard. Joey Logano for MF ING his
- 2:20teammate Austin Sindrich on the radio.
- 2:23And how about Chipper Jones right after the race going to X?
- 2:27So this is after last week, Chipper Jones ripped in to Joey
- 2:32Logano, right? And then Joey Logano responded,
- 2:36wasn't as biting in his commentary, but basically said
- 2:39look, what is Chipper Jones know about driving a race car around
- 2:43Talladega, right? So here's Chipper Jones, though,
- 2:46with an olive branch, I think it's fair to say ending this
- 2:49whole little dispute. Yesterday after the race, he
- 2:53says congratulations to Joey Logano, a Hall of Fame driver
- 2:58with a masterful win. This is what NASCAR fans expect
- 3:03from you. Hard charging wins and gracious
- 3:07top fives and 10s. Well done.
- 3:11Somebody then responds to him and says this guy Hollywood Todd
- 3:15says you backpedaling after all that noise last week.
- 3:19Joey 3X3 time champion will be a Hall of Famer and he's great
- 3:24with fans and Chipper Jones responds.
- 3:27We'll get into more but I think this is interesting.
- 3:29Chipper Jones responds on X backpedaling.
- 3:32No appreciating a great race and sportsmanship.
- 3:36Hall of Famers are always held to a higher standard and should
- 3:41be. How about that?
- 3:43What'd you guys think last week? Everybody chirping, Chipper
- 3:46Jones chirping at Joey Logano. Joey Logano chirp back.
- 3:51Joey Logano gets the last laugh. He wins the race at Texas.
- 3:55And then Chipper Jones ending it very graciously and saying, hey,
- 3:59congratulations and we can all move on.
- 4:01One of those little storylines within the storyline within the
- 4:04race that I find fun. Maybe you guys don't.
- 4:07A little drama never hurts, especially midweek as we're
- 4:11going race to race. What do you guys think?
- 4:14OK, let's see. Explore America says I just
- 4:18watch old Winston Cup races on YouTube now.
- 4:23Explore America. NASCAR is impossible to follow
- 4:27now. I used to be able to.
- 4:30OK, so NASCAR is impossible to follow now.
- 4:32I used to be able to watch it on TNN or NBC.
- 4:34Now I got to have five different subscriptions to five different
- 4:37networks and a couple apps. Harlan Drake says just enjoy the
- 4:43race. It is entertainment only.
- 4:46If you have a favorite race from the past, just watch that race
- 4:48over and over again. Let's see, Explore America.
- 4:53Also saying the one thing NASCAR has going for itself now is its
- 4:57level of safety. Well, that's good.
- 4:59And by the way, I'm I'm not always trying to jump down
- 5:03NASCAR's throats. I do think from a racing
- 5:07standpoint, they've had a rough month.
- 5:09They've had a rough month. We all know the Next Gen. car on
- 5:12the short tracks is not the best style of racing.
- 5:16With this car. The mile and a halfs are
- 5:18fantastic usually, which I think everybody should be excited for.
- 5:22Kansas. I mean, don't you think you can
- 5:24make the argument that Kansas is maybe the best racing we have?
- 5:29I mean, you can throw Phoenix Homestead.
- 5:33I feel like Vegas is usually pretty good racing, but clearly
- 5:37the mile and a halfs, that's where it's at for NASCAR.
- 5:40I mean, Kansas to me, I understand they can't do this
- 5:44because look, weather comes into play.
- 5:46Kansas would be for me in the rotation for the championship,
- 5:50but you just can't count on weather in early to mid November
- 5:55in Kansas. But man, the racing at Kansas is
- 5:58freaking awesome. So I think everybody should be
- 6:00excited for next week, but we're talking about Texas now and
- 6:04again, please get your comments in.
- 6:07Let's see, we got Trucker Cowboy, Ed says.
- 6:13As someone who travels, I actually appreciate NASCAR
- 6:16putting the race on more streaming platforms to watch on
- 6:19my phone. Yeah, it's kind of a
- 6:20generational thing. Also, I believe.
- 6:24Let's see, Chris Morton says. My opinion is NASCAR is starting
- 6:28to be more like open wheel, single lug, not right.
- 6:32You're not liking the single lug nut.
- 6:34We've had that now for four years, though.
- 6:37Let's see, Charles F says past races had more cautions than
- 6:42this race did. So too many.
- 6:45I don't think so A lot, but it's Texas.
- 6:47If you're going to race in Texas, you better expect
- 6:49cautions. Sounds like a country song.
- 6:51It does. If you're going to race in
- 6:53Texas, expect a lot of cautions. Right.
- 6:57My thing too. And I got a little discussion on
- 6:59on X with somebody yesterday. To me, it's not just about the
- 7:03number of cautions, it's more of a feel, right?
- 7:06This is why I said earlier some bad luck for NASCAR with both
- 7:10stages ending in cautions. If you're somebody who's having
- 7:15the race on the background, you're kind of always looking up
- 7:17007 to go in the first stage, 09 to go in the second stage.
- 7:22You probably sit down, right? Some people watch the entirety
- 7:25of the race. I get that.
- 7:26That's great, but if you're watching the end of the stages,
- 7:29you're like, oh, this 1 ended in caution.
- 7:31The second one ended in caution. Now, I do think you had some
- 7:34interesting things going on at the end, right?
- 7:37I mean, Denny Hamlin blows up. What do you think of the horns
- 7:41down? Did you like that?
- 7:43Did you notice that in Texas? Horns down.
- 7:46Denny Hamlin now an Ohio State fan.
- 7:48I've been Ohio State fan my whole life, so I appreciate it.
- 7:51The horns down, I think it's kind of fun.
- 7:53Have some fun with that. His engine, you know, he blows
- 7:55up, no good there, but I thought you had some good drama.
- 8:00Then at the end, I do think this race needed some interesting
- 8:05restarts at the end because I thought the majority of the race
- 8:08was not just the most interesting with a ton of
- 8:11passing and all that. You might say, Oh well, Joey
- 8:14Logano, what do you start 27th? Whatever it is, he comes up.
- 8:17You had a lot of look, a lot of cautions.
- 8:19You had a bunch of DNFS. You didn't see some good racing
- 8:23at the end there, right? Michael McDowell.
- 8:25You thought Michael McDowell had a chance and he tries to go
- 8:27block and then Joey Logano finally passes him.
- 8:31You have some of the big name drivers in the mix at the end,
- 8:35Kyle Larson, Ryan Blaney. So give it, give it up to
- 8:40Penske, by the way. So Austin Cindrick wins last
- 8:44week. Joey Logano wins this week, Ryan
- 8:48Blaney. I mean, you can make the case
- 8:50especially early on Cindrick at at the superspeedways, but Ryan
- 8:55Blaney, Joey Logano, Penske cars had run really, really well
- 9:01throughout a lot of these races and had some terrible luck.
- 9:04I haven't looked at all the stats lately, but if you looked
- 9:06at the laps LED and all that, he had all these Penske cars
- 9:10leading a ton of laps but not getting the finishes they
- 9:13wanted, right, not getting the wins.
- 9:16So Ryan Blaney is probably the next he he deserves a win.
- 9:19I would I would think you guys would agree with me on that.
- 9:21But so Syndrich wins last week, Joey Logano wins this week.
- 9:26The Penske cars which have been running well but didn't have the
- 9:30luck. I almost said puck luck.
- 9:31I've been in the hockey mode. The Saint Louis Blues lost last
- 9:34night in just terrible fashion. But you have to have puck luck
- 9:38in in the NHL play offs. You have to have a little bit of
- 9:40track luck. You have to have a little bit of
- 9:43escape luck in terms of staying out of the wrecks and all that.
- 9:46And the Penske car is running so well early but not getting the
- 9:51finishes. Now they're starting to get the
- 9:52wins. Cedric Logano and I'm betting, I
- 9:56mean Ryan Blaney, You're not going to keep Ryan Blaney out of
- 9:58Victory Lane for too long. He's going to win a race this
- 10:01year, probably multiple, don't you think?
- 10:04Let's see. Explore America.
- 10:06You are correct, Sir. It is generational.
- 10:08That's talking about the TV experience for NASCAR, remember?
- 10:11Hey, you got Amazon Prime coming up.
- 10:14That was the first time I saw the commercial yesterday with
- 10:17Dale Junior and Steve Letarte talking about the five races on
- 10:22prime. Which are what?
- 10:23Coke 600 Nashville, MI? I can't remember all of them.
- 10:31There's five of them, Coke 600, Michigan, Nashville, Poconos,
- 10:37one of them. Oh, and Mexico City.
- 10:40And there's also a cameo from from Chase Elliot there.
- 10:44I thought that was a really cool commercial.
- 10:45Junior Steve Letarte driving like an old school hot rod
- 10:50muscle car and they're talking about the races that they have
- 10:53on Amazon. I thought that was cool.
- 10:55And look, I have kids. I get it.
- 10:58I get it. If you're complaining about TV,
- 11:00I've complained about TVA lot. I switched back and forth from
- 11:03DIRECTV to YouTube TV back to DIRECTV, kind of chasing the
- 11:07Saint Louis Cardinals and Bally sports Midwest, which is now
- 11:10FanDuel Sports Midwest. And then I, I totally get what
- 11:13you're saying. If you're not liking having all
- 11:15these streaming services, I'm with you.
- 11:17I have kids. And when you have two kids under
- 11:207, I feel like I almost have to have all the streaming services
- 11:23because there's just at least a show on all of these networks
- 11:27that that they like or I like or my wife likes.
- 11:30At this point, I would more easily get rid of cable and just
- 11:34keep all the streaming. In terms of what we watch, we
- 11:37hardly ever watch actual TV unless it's a sporting event.
- 11:40We're watching all the shows on Netflix and HBO Max or Max,
- 11:44whatever it's called now, and Hulu and Amazon.
- 11:47I get it, it's frustrating, but it's kind of the world we're
- 11:50living in now. And to me, I mean, what's more
- 11:53valuable than than live sports? To me, there's not much else I
- 11:57want to watch besides the big time sporting events.
- 12:00NASCAR last night it was NHL playoffs.
- 12:03You obviously need cable for that.
- 12:05And and I have some shows I like on on the different streaming
- 12:09services. But this is also, look, we can
- 12:11all complain about it and I do too.
- 12:12I feel your pain. Like I said, I chased the
- 12:15Cardinals on three different TV programming networks over the
- 12:19last five years or so. But this is just the way it's
- 12:22going to be and it's not changing.
- 12:24So we all kind of just have to adapt to it.
- 12:28Let's see. Craig says the Missouri Mafia is
- 12:32here. Just me though, in Saint Louis.
- 12:35The rest of the Missouri Mafia, the real Missouri Mafia, Kenny
- 12:38Wallace, Ken Trader, they're on the Kyle Petty charity ride.
- 12:42So there will be no live new episode of Herman Trader this
- 12:44week. We'll have some really good
- 12:46Kenny conversations. But we have been posting a lot
- 12:49of content, lot of videos from Kenny along the way on the Kyle
- 12:52Petty charity ride and then next week Herman Trader, they'll tell
- 12:55you all about the cool different museums and the whole charity
- 13:01ride. They started in Traverse City,
- 13:03MI, a place I've spent a lot of time.
- 13:05I'm from Toledo, OH at an aunt and uncle.
- 13:08Have an aunt and uncle that live in Traverse City.
- 13:09So been there a million times. So Kyle Petty charity ride start
- 13:13in Traverse City. They're driving down Kenny of
- 13:17them actually started I think more close to MIS to Michigan
- 13:21International Speedway. Then they go up to Traverse City
- 13:23come back down. They went to the Henry Ford
- 13:25Museum, which is there I think Dearborn, Detroit area.
- 13:29Then they're kind of found. They probably went right through
- 13:31my hometown Toledo, OH, then jumped on whether it's the
- 13:34Turnpike or 80 to go to Cleveland.
- 13:37And this morning they were at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 13:40You should check out the video Kyle Petty jamming singing with
- 13:44a really good band. What he's saying he's saying
- 13:48Johnny be good. Another classic classic old
- 13:51school rock'n'roll song. I can't remember but check that
- 13:54out here on the Kenny Wallace YouTube channel.
- 13:57So back to your comments, here we got Herbie.
- 14:01Herbie says about Texas. Repave the upper grooves but
- 14:04leave the bottom as is. Trucker Cowboy Ed.
- 14:09But the new Gen. car or next Gen. car always is fun at
- 14:13certain tracks to watch. Way better than the Gen. 6.
- 14:17Yeah. Truman Lake here from Craig.
- 14:19Is that where you're at or where you live?
- 14:23Yeah. Like I said, look, my whole
- 14:24thing is I don't look at it as we're we're criticizing NASCAR.
- 14:28Just just bagging on them to me. I I read so many comments from
- 14:32from you guys and the old school fans.
- 14:34You just want more racing, right?
- 14:36That's what you're looking for. You're looking for more racing,
- 14:39more passing. And sometimes look at Talladega
- 14:43when you see the end of the Xfinity Series race and there's
- 14:46more passing and more three wide, 4 wide there than there is
- 14:50in the in the Cup Series. I mean, Denny Hamlin said that
- 14:53straight up he goes, somebody make me a graphic, Somebody make
- 14:56me a video of the last two laps of Talladega Xfinity versus Cup.
- 15:02It was obvious, folks, there's way more passing in Xfinity.
- 15:06And I think people just want the top series of NASCAR to have the
- 15:09best overall racing. We know we have the best drivers
- 15:13in Cup, but they want to see the best racing.
- 15:15And I think you fans, you fans are definitely smart enough to
- 15:18know sometimes too, when it's when it's two lanes and all of a
- 15:23sudden there's a record amount of passing.
- 15:25But really it's just kind of like this.
- 15:28And I always, I hate to always quote Denny Hamlin, but I think
- 15:31he's the most honest about this, right?
- 15:33If it's just passing like this, is that real passing?
- 15:37I think what people want to see, they want to see what they saw
- 15:39at the end of the race yesterday, you saw a fun duel
- 15:43for a while between Joey Logano and Michael McDowell and Michael
- 15:47McDowell throwing the block. He did everything he could.
- 15:51Joey Logano gets ahead of them. And then what was it with
- 15:53Blaney? He got the The Dirty air there
- 15:57and Michael McDowell spins out. But I think to me, that's that's
- 16:01what was fun for me, watching the real racing in the passing,
- 16:04watching Logano pass McDowell, McDowell doing everything he he
- 16:09could to hold him off as long as he could, but he couldn't.
- 16:12That's what I think made the race for me yesterday at Texas.
- 16:15I just think overall, too many cautions, too many cautions
- 16:18early kind of boring cautions at the stage breaks.
- 16:21But we did have a good finish. I think there were there were 4
- 16:25cautions there at the end, not a lot of green lap runs at the
- 16:28end. So I want to hear from you guys
- 16:30what you thought. And you know, Jeff Glock always
- 16:33does his pole. Let's see.
- 16:35Last time I looked it was kind of 5050, which I think is fair.
- 16:39I, I don't think this was a terrible race.
- 16:42I don't think this was a great race.
- 16:43I think it was middle of the pack.
- 16:46So I think a 5050 type race there, I had to, I said no, I'm
- 16:51just being honest. So look, I mean, you can't get
- 16:54basically more 5050. Was Texas a good race?
- 16:59Yes, 51%, no 49% / 15,000 votes. I think that's very fair, right?
- 17:08And I think it's it's cool that Jeff Gluck does this because the
- 17:13people, the people speak right, the customer is always right.
- 17:17And, and maybe as customers, NASCAR fans, maybe we complain
- 17:21too much sometimes. I think that's fair.
- 17:23Not every race can be perfect. Not every race can be a photo
- 17:26finish. Not every race can have the
- 17:28amount of cautions you want or the amount of passing.
- 17:31But I think we'd all agree NASCAR needs to clean up the
- 17:36short track package with this car.
- 17:38Superspeedways, there's obviously more volatility.
- 17:41So, so last week you didn't have the big one at Talladega, so
- 17:45maybe some people were disappointed about that.
- 17:47To me, it's not just about the wrecks, though.
- 17:49It's not just about the cautions.
- 17:51It's about the passing. People just want to see racing.
- 17:56Am I wrong? That's what I want to see that.
- 17:58That's why I'll I'll keep repeating myself.
- 18:00But to me, the most interesting part of the end was the Logano
- 18:04versus McDowell racing at the end.
- 18:06Then he saw it a little bit with with McDowell and Blaney.
- 18:10But Logano goes ahead and and wins the race.
- 18:13Let's see here we go. Let's see trucker cowboy.
- 18:18Ed says. But some tracks have always been
- 18:20boring with little passing sometimes.
- 18:22Richmond used to be pretty boring at times.
- 18:26Let's see Twisted 420 ish says trucker cowboy.
- 18:30I don't agree with that but I'm partial to Richmond as a
- 18:32Virginia native lol. It's one of my favorite tracks.
- 18:35Yeah, we all have our favorite tracks.
- 18:36Also. Let's see, Scratch Acker 2019
- 18:42says those Fords become rocket chips at the end.
- 18:45What's under their hoods? Well, hey, they passed
- 18:48inspection. Joey Logano didn't last week, as
- 18:51you know. But Joey Logano passes
- 18:53inspection, they win. And then look, the Penske's we
- 18:58know for sure the Penske cars have it figured out, especially
- 19:01at the end of the season. Penske, as we all know, they've
- 19:05won every championship during the next genera.
- 19:09Logano, Blaney, Logano, and they clearly have something figured
- 19:14out at Phoenix. Now, we know Homestead is going
- 19:16to be the championship, what, next year?
- 19:19But as long as the championship is at Phoenix, the Penske cars,
- 19:23whoever's in there. And last year it was Logano and
- 19:25Blaney. But whatever Penske car is in
- 19:28the championship for has to be the favorite, don't you think?
- 19:33Let's see. OK.
- 19:36Going after Kenny Wallace there. Let's see.
- 19:42I'm not going to put that up there on this channel.
- 19:44You can come after me. All right, let's see.
- 19:49Kenny Walrus says how much racing was going on in the
- 19:51Daytona 500 that Earnhardt was leading before he hit the
- 19:54seagull. I guess the Glock pole went from
- 19:5695 to 15 when he fell out of the lead, 95 to five.
- 20:02Yeah. Jeff Glock's Pole.
- 20:04How long has he done this? The last 10 years or so, yes.
- 20:08Kimmy Walrus Racing is not two cars riding side by side.
- 20:13Bro, Is that at me? Are you coming after me for
- 20:17that? That's what I'm saying, You
- 20:19know, and Denny Hamlin always jokes about this to me.
- 20:22If you have two lanes and the the left lane and the right lane
- 20:27kind of always go, oh, this guy's leading, this guy's
- 20:30leading, this guy's leading, this guy's leading.
- 20:32Come on, that's not the real passing we're talking about.
- 20:34South Kimmy, I think you agree with me.
- 20:37Unless you're coming after me, which is fine.
- 20:39Please explain. Let's see.
- 20:42Explore America. As long as NASCAR continues
- 20:46towards cookie cutter ARCA and the Cars Tour will grow
- 20:49exponentially. Yeah, CARS Tour is great.
- 20:53ARCA is great. Especially with what Cletus
- 20:55McFarlane has brought to ARCA and all the attention there.
- 20:59You know what's interesting about Cletus MacFarlane?
- 21:01I think a lot of people, he's what, 30 years old?
- 21:04I think a lot of people assume that he's only bringing the
- 21:08younger crowd to NASCAR and ARCA.
- 21:11But as somebody who I run this channel, so I see all of your
- 21:15comments and I tried to reply and comment and heart and like
- 21:18them all and whatever that is not the case that Cletus
- 21:22McFarlane is just with the younger generation.
- 21:25I have seen so many comments from old school NASCAR fans, not
- 21:30just people in their 40s, fifties, I'm talking sixties,
- 21:3370s. People have said, look, I was a
- 21:37big NASCAR fan in the 90s or 2000s.
- 21:41I was a Dale Earnhardt fan, I was a Jeff Gordon fan.
- 21:44I left NASCAR for whatever reason.
- 21:47I found Cletus whenever that was during COVID and I, I think he's
- 21:51had a channel for a long time. I'm not sure.
- 21:53But I'm talking old school NASCAR fans who were big fans,
- 21:57nineties, 2000s, whoever it is, Dale Senior, Rusty Wallace, Jeff
- 22:00Gordon. I have seen dozens if not
- 22:03hundreds of comments from these people saying Cletus McFarland
- 22:07has brought me back to NASCAR. Cletus McFarland has brought me
- 22:11to watch the ARCA races. These are people who are saying
- 22:14like I don't even watch the Cup races anymore and I watched the
- 22:17whole frickin ARCA race at Daytona or the whole frickin
- 22:21ARCA race at Talladega specifically because of Cletus
- 22:25McFarlane. And this dude has 4 million
- 22:27whatever it is subscribers on YouTube.
- 22:29It's not just the younger generation that is coming to
- 22:33NASCAR because of Cletus McFarlane.
- 22:34It's people of every age group, old school NASCAR fans,
- 22:38families, whatever it is, 20s, thirties, 40s, fifties, sixties,
- 22:4270s. I would love to see actually
- 22:44Cletus Mcfarlane's YouTube analytics because we have a much
- 22:48older audience here on the Kenny Wallace YouTube channel.
- 22:51We have a lot of people. Look, Kenny is what, 61 going on
- 22:5462? I believe you have the Herman
- 22:56Schrader show. Kenny Schrader's pushing 70.
- 22:58We have a lot of old school NASCAR fans and we love that, by
- 23:02the way. So our audience is older.
- 23:04It's 45 + 55 + 65 plus. I would love to see what Cletus
- 23:09Mcfarlane's analytics are on YouTube.
- 23:11I I bet you it's a wide swath of all different, all different age
- 23:16groups. Cletus fun stuff, man.
- 23:18You saw him at Indy the other day with Tony Stewart and Greg
- 23:21Biffle, you know, racing all kinds of fun cars.
- 23:25They're painting them up. You got monster trucks there.
- 23:28He's just a fun dude that knows how to have fun.
- 23:31And people on YouTube and, and all over social media love the
- 23:34dude. Let's see, we got he's 32.
- 23:40Who's that? Who are you talking about?
- 23:42Who's 32 years old? I was talking about Cletus
- 23:45McFarlane. Cletus McFarlane is the Caitlin
- 23:48Clark of auto sports. That's a good comparison.
- 23:52And that's a compliment. By the way, Caitlin Clark is
- 23:55somebody who transcends women's basketball.
- 23:58Nobody was watching the WNBA or or women's college basketball.
- 24:02Let's be real in the type of numbers they were until Caitlin
- 24:06Clark got involved and she's selling out every game and the
- 24:09TV ratings are insane when she's in the final four of the
- 24:13championship game, the WNB games that she's playing in the
- 24:16ratings are just crazy. She, she truly is bigger than
- 24:19the sport. That's where what Cletus does
- 24:22look here on YouTube. I'm not saying that Cletus is
- 24:26look, NASCAR is a billion dollar business.
- 24:28We all get that. But from a content creation,
- 24:32YouTube standpoint, bringing eyeballs, Cletus McFarlane has
- 24:35more followers, subscribers, whatever it is then NASCAR does.
- 24:40So in a way, in a way, he is bigger than NASCAR.
- 24:44That's all good. He can help NASCAR, NASCAR can
- 24:47help him. They can help each other.
- 24:48I think it's great. Let's see, Let's see.
- 24:54Doo Doo, Doo, Doo Doo. People are going after each
- 24:56other, talking about Larson. We got a Larson fan.
- 25:01Larson was looking good. Different car by the way.
- 25:04I'm so used to Kyle Larson being the one car that you can find on
- 25:08the track right with thehendrickcars.com logo.
- 25:12It was different to see him in the Valvoline car.
- 25:15I know they've done that every once in a while, but I feel like
- 25:19Kyle Larson is the one car you can usually find easily.
- 25:22I thought Joey Logano, who you can also usually find in the
- 25:25yellow Pennzoil car, but he had the the white.
- 25:30What was his sponsor? Was it AAA insurance?
- 25:33Let me find this. I'm going to find it for you.
- 25:35Yeah, AAA. I thought he had a sharp looking
- 25:37car. Joey Logano, when he wins, you
- 25:40had Chase Elliott in the gold Napa car for the 100th
- 25:44anniversary of Napa. That was a cool car as well, by
- 25:49the way, while I have you. So Logano wins, obviously will
- 25:52go top 10. Ross Chastain finishes second,
- 25:55Blaney third. Blaney's going to win a race
- 25:57soon. Kyle Larson finishes 4th, 90
- 26:00laps. Joey Logano only LED 7 laps,
- 26:02Eric Jones 5th, Ricky Stenhouse Junior 6th Austin Dillon 7th
- 26:07John Hunter Nemechek 8th Christopher Bell 9th Daniel
- 26:09Suarez 10th. So William Byron LED 22 laps.
- 26:15Carson Hosevar, your pole sitter.
- 26:17He also had the fastest lap of the race.
- 26:20Carson Hosevar on the pole. Then he goes and Rex at the end,
- 26:24Ryan Priest. Ryan Priest not happy with
- 26:26Carson Hosevar at the end, if you saw those comments.
- 26:28But Hosevar LED 22 laps, Austin Sindrich LED 60, Michael
- 26:32McDowell LED 19. Josh Berry LED 41 laps.
- 26:37Remember, he kind of spun there as well.
- 26:39Bowman LED a lap, Denny Hamlin LED one lap and he was out.
- 26:45After what? 73 laps for for Denny Hamlin,
- 26:50but the Joey Logano gets the win.
- 26:54Leading 7. Laps in that race, Penske going
- 26:57back-to-back with Cindrick and Logano and again, it's only a
- 27:00matter of time. We know until Ryan Blaney wins a
- 27:03race. Ryan Blaney with a top three,
- 27:07finishes third, let a couple laps.
- 27:10He's going to win soon here. Penske's cars, which have been
- 27:14rolling so well all season but not getting the results, finally
- 27:17getting the results the last couple of weeks with wins from
- 27:19Cindrick and Joey Logano. Going back to the chat here.
- 27:24I appreciate all you guys watching live. 68 of you.
- 27:27We'll repost this on the Kenny Wallace Media Podcast as well.
- 27:32Look at people. Going after Denny now, how many
- 27:34times has Denny choked? I'm a Denny fan.
- 27:37That's trucker cowboy Ed and then Lightning responds. 56 wins
- 27:42for Denny Hamlin. Just passing Rusty Wallace here
- 27:44this year when he went, So what? Denny went back-to-back and then
- 27:48didn't. He finish second in the third
- 27:50race. He had that stretch.
- 27:54I should know this. What was that?
- 27:55Was that Martinsville? Was it Darlington?
- 27:58Let me check real quick. Let me check real quick.
- 28:02I don't have the greatest. Memory All right.
- 28:04Denny Hamlin. Denny Hamlin.
- 28:08Somebody help me out on. That Denny Hamlin this year.
- 28:11Two wins. Come on, NASCAR.
- 28:15Dot com All right, I'll find it for you.
- 28:18I'll find it for you. Let me go and check Danny
- 28:24Hamlin. Stick with me folks.
- 28:27Stick with me. OK, Danny Hamlin.
- 28:35So Danny Hamlin. His last win was Darlington this
- 28:39year. Danny Hamlin 56 Career wins, 364
- 28:45Career Top tens, 43 Poles. I'm on Wikipedia, right?
- 28:50Now so. Let me find Denny Hamlin.
- 28:53Denny Hamlin, So one at Martinsville.
- 28:56Hey, I was actually right for once.
- 28:59So Denny Hamlin had a. Stretch there where?
- 29:02Look, I mean he was second at Phoenix, but then he goes 5th at
- 29:05Homestead, wins at Martinsville, wins at Darlington, and then
- 29:09Bristol finishes second. Last couple weeks not as good.
- 29:13Talladega finishes 21st and Texas was dead last. 38th there.
- 29:19I just spit on my computer. I was so excited to say dead
- 29:22last. But like I said.
- 29:25I'm a Denny fan in the sense of he's good for business, he's
- 29:29good for content, keeps things interesting.
- 29:31And also I think 20 years in, the man deserves a championship.
- 29:34He's a Hall of Fame driver. I'd like to see Denny Hamlin win
- 29:38a championship, Lightning says. Denny winning at Kansas over
- 29:43Larson. Let's see.
- 29:47Hold on. This is Kimmy Walrus.
- 29:50Gluck said the race was tainted by the leader having clean air
- 29:52in the field, racing and dirtier.
- 29:54I bet the powers that be at NASCAR will fix that when they
- 29:57take cup to China. All of the air is dirty.
- 30:00Come on now. You think cup's going?
- 30:04To go to China, So you're saying China has a lot of smog and all
- 30:07that, which they do? Let's see.
- 30:10I was actually trying to put up a different comment that was
- 30:12lightning. Sometimes you guys comment so
- 30:14fast that I go to press it and already refreshes.
- 30:17Denny winning at Kansas over Larson.
- 30:21Probably 2 good guys to choose there.
- 30:23Very good chance they go. They go at it next week at
- 30:25Kansas. I love the racing at Kansas.
- 30:28Only about 3 1/2 hours away from me in Saint Louis.
- 30:31I was actually near the track last year at the frickin Great
- 30:34Wolf Lodge and you guys have kids.
- 30:36I was at the Great Wolf Lodge hanging out with my kids because
- 30:39they love the water park and all that.
- 30:41And that's right across the street in in actually Kansas,
- 30:45not Kansas City, MO. It is in the state of Kansas.
- 30:49Great Wolf Lodge is right there next to the racetrack.
- 30:53Let's see, Lightnings, these guys are going back and forth.
- 30:57This is what I love about NASCAR, though.
- 30:59We have a Larson fan and a Hamlin fan going toe to toe in
- 31:02the chat. He's choked some and he has 56
- 31:05trophies talking about Denny Hamlin.
- 31:07Let's see, they're kind of saying who's choked the most,
- 31:11Both Hall of Farmers guys. Can't we all just get along?
- 31:15Let's see, here we go. We got Jake, Jake Reeden says
- 31:21very big Kenny fan. Hope to get to see him soon in
- 31:23Quincy, IL. But let's go Cletus McFarlane
- 31:26agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed. I think Cletus is he's great for
- 31:31business and just give the dude credit.
- 31:33I've been on YouTube for about four years.
- 31:36For anybody to have that big of a following, you're doing
- 31:39something right. I mean, he's doing a lot of
- 31:41things right. He's a he's a freaking
- 31:43sensation. So give him all the credit in
- 31:45the world. Let's see.
- 31:49Monster Shot says Joey got it done for Chipper.
- 31:52Loli talked about that at the beginning of the stream here.
- 31:54Yeah, Chipper Jones did compliment Joey Logano for the
- 31:57win after he went after him last week when Joey Logano was
- 32:01chirping his teammate Austin Sindrick on the radio.
- 32:04But hey, little bit of drama midweek.
- 32:06Joey and Chipper going back and forth, but then we can put that
- 32:10to bed. Chipper Jones extends the olive
- 32:12branch. He congratulates Joey Logano
- 32:14after the win. And we can all move on with our
- 32:18lives. Let's see.
- 32:21You're saying does NASCAR have two million fans or 4 million
- 32:24fans? Well, NASCAR has millions and
- 32:26millions of fans. I was talking about specifically
- 32:29YouTube, how many followers Cletus has.
- 32:32I'll look it up right now for you.
- 32:33How about that just so you and and I'm not saying Cletus is
- 32:37bigger than NASCAR in the sense of we all know NASCAR is a
- 32:40billion dollar industry, but my point is Cletus.
- 32:45On YouTube. Is bigger.
- 32:47So here's Cletus. I'm looking him up right now.
- 32:50Cletus McFarland has 4.3 million subscribers on YouTube.
- 32:55NASCAR itself. NASCAR, the sanctioning body has
- 33:001.44 million. I can't believe I haven't been a
- 33:04subscriber. There you go, I'm subscribing.
- 33:05So now they have 1.44 million and I just added.
- 33:07But look, that's pretty much Dang close to three times on
- 33:11YouTube that Cletus McFarlane has a three times bigger reach
- 33:15on YouTube than NASCAR does. And I'm not going to look at
- 33:19every other platform. And again, we know NASCAR is a
- 33:22billion dollar industry. Cletus McFarlane is huge, but
- 33:25I'm talking about his impact with content with YouTube.
- 33:29Cletus McFarland is huge. OK, look, I'm.
- 33:33Calling a truce. They're both great.
- 33:36Look at that. We're getting along.
- 33:37The Denny fan, the Kyle Larson fan.
- 33:39Let's call a truce. Let's all get along.
- 33:43And this, this guy's saying starts with the letter.
- 33:46Let's see. I'm focused on viewership
- 33:48numbers. Does NASCAR have 4 million fans
- 33:50or 2 million fans? Well, on TV that you're talking
- 33:54about, TV, NASCAR can get 4 million people on TV.
- 33:57Is that what you're talking about?
- 33:58We haven't seen the ratings yet recently, but yeah, I feel like
- 34:02I'm in the Xfinity Series races have been getting a million
- 34:05lately on CW. Let's see.
- 34:09Kimmy Walrus says fingers crossed that the ARCA IndyCar
- 34:12guys don't hurt Larson and Indy. Otherwise y'all are going to
- 34:15love or hate him a lot in the future.
- 34:18All right, let's end on that about 35 minutes.
- 34:20Thank you so much for jumping in.
- 34:22All of you guys, live guys and gals.
- 34:24I really appreciate it. Good talk.
- 34:26I like to get you involved in the comments.
- 34:28Joey Logano wins a lot of cautions, kind of a 5050 type
- 34:32race. Good passing at the end.
- 34:35Logano wins and Penske goes back-to-back with Cindrick and
- 34:39Logano and back-to-back weeks and next week should be an
- 34:41awesome race at Kansas. Maybe the raciest, raciest.
- 34:45I said raciest, the raciest track we have the next Gen. car
- 34:51usually great at Kansas and on those mile and a halfs, although
- 34:53Texas is in OK there it is. All right.
- 34:57Charlie Marlowe signing off starts with the letter says
- 34:59thank you for answering questions.
- 35:01Yes, thank you for asking questions.
- 35:03See you guys later. Love you all.
- 35:05Peace out and stream.
