  [SPEAKER_00]: He will be leaving the Jaguars signing with the Carolina Panthers and he's going to get three years, forty five million dollars and

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not really a surprise that Devin Lloyd kind of got priced out in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you look at their cap situation, you look at the needs that they have, you look at.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The fact that the two big players they lost today, Devin Lloyd and Travis C.T.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and both played positions, that the Jack Wars have A other good players at and B, they're

  [SPEAKER_00]: premium positions running back off ball linebacker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They are not premium positions in the NFL today and I think ultimately it just came down to not the cash, not the money, but the cap.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that the Jaguars made a clear decision here to not go all in and do everything they possibly could to push money into the future.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, 15 is less than I expected, but again, the off-ball linebacker position, fairly devalued around the league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I did an expect, Devon Lloyd's number to come in south of that, but it did.

  [SPEAKER_00]: One thing you can be happy about is that, while the Jaguar has did lose two stars from the 2020 five campaign.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think that that is a good thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Losing these guys to AFC opponents, certainly AFC South rivals would have been very upsetting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: for a lot of fans, and I mean, you don't want to see these guys twice a year, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But it's to the Panthers for Devin Lloyd, the Saints for Travis C. T. N. And the Jack Wars, the good news is, Buster Brown's back, Dennis Gardeck is back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Those are the two moves they made today.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're reasonably big moves.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Dennis Gardeck is not the

  [SPEAKER_00]: impact on the defense as a Devon Lloyd, but I do think he's a impactful player defensively.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's just more of a role player and he's also a great special teamer, but I think you can reasonably make the argument that while Devon Lloyd and Travis ET and are probably like more universal, then Buster Brown, within the context of the Jaguar's schemes defensively and offensively,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown is every bit as important, or was every bit as important to the 2025 Jaguars as a Devon Lloyd, or a Travis E.T.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In a Zones scheme, Buster Brown absolutely fantastic, and he showed that last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and they got him for $11 million a year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis CTN got more than that, 13 million per year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Devon Lloyd got 15 million per year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's really hard to argue that corner is a more important,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it absolutely is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You now have a really strong corner back group going into 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, make no mistake about it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is a CB1.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was playing like a CB1 when he was on the field at corner back last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown as a high end, CB2 in my opinion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, within the context of this scheme,

  [SPEAKER_00]: that highlights what he does well, which is play physical, play aggressive, play smart, read route concepts, come downhill, both as a support run defender and coming downhill in coverage, lay in the wood on receivers, jumping routes.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He got his hands on the football a ton in 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's no reason to think he can't do that again in 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Look, the Devon Lloyd do the same thing, absolutely.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars made business decisions today and their business decision, again, not about cash or money, because ShodCon will throw all the money that he can at things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: James Gladstone's decision was to let ETN and Devon Lloyd test for agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They got what they wanted out there in the NFC and good for them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now the Jaguars did also release Johnny Month.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think ATNs going to be a good player for the New Orleans Saints.

  [SPEAKER_00]: ATN is slated to give the Jaguars a fifth round compensatory pick right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Devin Lloyd is on the borderline between a fourth and a fifth according to over the cap.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So right now, the Jaguars are going to get

  [SPEAKER_00]: The way things stand right now, two extra picks for 2027.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Either a fourth or a fifth for Devin Lloyd and a fifth for Travis E.T.N.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have, you know, really probably one more free agent who could impact that, which is Greg Newsom, but I doubt he's going to get that kind of money, just based off the year that he had in Jacksonville, to really impact the company's story pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so the jags are playing the company's story pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It looks like things can still change.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's still a lot of expensive free agents that are out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But my best guess at this point is something I've been saying for a little while, I think that the jag wars, if they're going to sign an outside free agent, it's gonna be somebody who's not gonna impact the complete story pick formula, which means they're gonna be cheap enough that they don't wanna impact the complete story pick formula, or they were gonna be a player that was released by their former team, so they're not a compensatory free agent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Allah Bradley Chup, not a compensatory free agent, because he was released by the Miami Dolphins,

  [SPEAKER_00]: And if they trade for someone and then sign that player, it does not impact the compensatory pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The jack wars were also awarded officially, pick number 100 today, and then compensatory picks because of the lions trade with the jack wars last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: During the draft, the jack wars got that compensatory pick from the lions.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so it ends up being 100 overall at the end of day two of the draft, which is right where we expected it to be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think James Gladstone is operating this franchise differently than you've ever seen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars have not been a team historically earns compensatory picks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have not been a team usually, that's very quiet and free agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But that's what you've seen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I have seen some people say, you know, this feeling a little bit like 2023 after the 2022 season in which the Jaguars,

  [SPEAKER_00]: made that run, went to the playoffs, made it to the divisional round, and then the jacks kind of didn't do much in free agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I still think James Gladstone's going to be aggressive to make this football team a lot better.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that even if the jack was have a relatively quiet offseason, the discord between Doug Peterson and the front office.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the lack of willingness to adapt, to grow, to evolve, and the modern NFL from a schematic and a relationship management standpoint by Doug Peterson is no longer in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen and James Gladstone, Tony Bicelli, the Jack Wars are in good hands.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so even if it is quieter, even if there's not a blockbuster trait or a huge

  [SPEAKER_00]: The jackwares are in good hands and I think that they are well prepared to have a good year, really good year, and to make progress in 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, at running back, I think you have two really good guys that you like, two really good young guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's still a number of free agent running backs out there that could make sense for

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of running backs on the draft every single year, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then at linebacker, I don't know if they're going to bring in somebody for competition.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, foyer Luke and clear starter, leader, captain, type play, like awesome player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well rounded linebacker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then you have Ventral Miller and Jack Kaiser and Branson Colms, and I think that those are guys that can compete.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jack Wars don't bring in another player to compete, which my preference is, foie starts obviously.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then you have Jack and Vintrell and probably a day two pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's my preference.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I love this linebacker class.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like I'm just saying, oh, just go get a day to pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's because this linebacker class is excellent, which is another reason I think the Jaguars might say, look, $15 million is just a little bit more than what we want to pay.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you look historically, where James Gladstone comes from, Los Angeles Rams, they don't prioritize paying off-ball linebackers that type of money.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You also have the fact that Anthony Campanile is a former linebackers coach and defensive wrong game coordinator by trade has had unbelievable success with linebackers in the league over the last several years.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars are set up to be able to figure it out at linebacker without Devon Wood.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I'll remind you at this time last year, a lot of fans didn't even want to see Devin Lloyd in the starting line up to test him at to him and the coaching staff putting him in the right position to succeed him doing everything he could to succeed.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they will be able to manage without Travis ETN.

  [SPEAKER_00]: My question marks are more, how do you take that next step?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, having Travis Hunter healthy, helped you take that next step.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Having him as a full-time corner, which is, I think, the plan.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You also have the Brian Thomas Jr. news that just will not seem to die.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The potential trade rumors, all that stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't really want to dive too deep into that, but if you end up trading him, you obviously need to replace

  [SPEAKER_00]: Somebody who can create space on offense, but I would love to see the Jack Wars address the defense of front heavily Either via trade or one of these non-compensatory free agents I would like to see them do it more in the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would like to find a offensive lineman to develop that that I think so the Jack Wars offense of line right now

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have capable starters at every spot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The only player who really looks like a plus starter is Anton Harrison.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Everything else is like, you know, yeah, this is fine.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Jonah Monheim can be that in the future.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I would like to see the Jaguar's get an offensive

  [SPEAKER_00]: potential plus starter, another potential plus starter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, Cole VanLanon, was he playing like a plus starter down the stretch?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he was.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Can he sustain that level of play?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's fair to say that the Jaguars don't really know if he can either based on the fact that after 2026, there's a team out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like a great team out, but they can save over $7 million in cap space by moving on from Cole VanLanon after 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying, right now, the offensive line, while capable, is not like blowing you away, talent was outside of Anton Harrison.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I'd like to see the offensive line upgrade or I'd like to see the defensive line upgraded.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then I would also like to see, again, as we've mentioned quite a bit, a really good tie-in to pair with Britain's strange.
