- 1:01Speaker 1: Anyway, the world-famous Phil Hendry Show at philhendryshow.com, the greatest
- 1:04Speaker 1: value online other than porn. Hey, welcome to today's Radio
- 1:07Speaker 1: Archive Hour from the Radio Hall of Fame show of
- 1:09Speaker 1: Phil Hendry and philhendryshow.com. And I'm Phil, and we got
- 1:12Speaker 1: one from October of 2000. And all I can tell
- 1:15Speaker 1: you is before there was a Donald Trump, there was
- 1:18Speaker 1: a Ted Bell. And on the show today from October
- 1:21Speaker 1: of 2000, while there were all kinds of things happening,
- 1:24Speaker 1: all kinds of hell being unleashed in the Middle East,
- 1:26Speaker 1: Ted comes on and talks about building hotels, swimming pools,
- 1:29Speaker 1: Making cocktails, lounging by the spa, and having just a
- 1:32Speaker 1: jolly old time. And isn't that the solution to all
- 1:35Speaker 1: the problems? Here's Ted dealing with a little bit of reality.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Ted Bell is with Ted's Beverly Hills Steakhouse, a businessman
- 1:42Speaker 1: in the Beverly Hills area. But you have some connections
- 1:45Speaker 1: and some business connections, Ted, as well that I think...
- 1:49Speaker 1: probably make your knowledge a little relevant down there?
- 1:53Speaker 3: Right, Rathel, I think what's going on down there is
- 1:55Speaker 3: so upsetting, I think, for a lot of different reasons.
- 1:59Speaker 3: I'm a restaurateur. The business that I'm in, I'm not
- 2:04Speaker 3: a politician, okay?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Understood.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I'm not a diplomat, but I can tell you right now,
- 2:09Speaker 3: I've been in touch with a number of interests, and
- 2:13Speaker 3: the Palestinian and Arab people, I think, need to, they're
- 2:16Speaker 3: blowing it. They're blowing their opportunities.
- 2:18Speaker 1: How are they blowing it? I mean, they're standing up
- 2:20Speaker 1: for something that they believe in.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Well, there are an awful lot of hotel and spa
- 2:24Speaker 3: construction opportunities, which are going to be increasing in that
- 2:28Speaker 3: region some 200% over the next 10 years. I have
- 2:32Speaker 3: spoken with certain interests, new tennis courts, new polo fields,
- 2:36Speaker 3: beautiful new baseball stadium and golf courses. And I've also
- 2:39Speaker 3: heard Phil, that perhaps, and I don't know if this
- 2:42Speaker 3: is a fact, but Planet Hollywood and Hard Rock Cafe
- 2:45Speaker 3: are favorably disposed to begin looking at property in the
- 2:48Speaker 3: Gaza Strip. So what does all of this mean? It
- 2:53Speaker 3: means that the Palestinians right now are crapping where they eat.
- 2:57Speaker 3: There's an old saying, you never crap where you eat,
- 2:59Speaker 3: and they're crapping where they eat right now.
- 3:02Speaker 2: You're saying the Palestinians are?
- 3:03Speaker 3: Well, absolutely. I mean, Israel's Israel is a country that
- 3:07Speaker 3: is modern. It's a country that's first world. If you've
- 3:09Speaker 3: ever been to Israel, you know that the airports, the hotels,
- 3:13Speaker 3: they've got some pretty swanky resorts, beautiful downtown restaurants in
- 3:17Speaker 3: Tel Aviv. Israel, I think, is set up for a
- 3:21Speaker 3: big run at the 21st century, but the Palestinian Arab
- 3:24Speaker 3: people are still... I saw pictures of them last week.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I don't know whether you saw this or not, but
- 3:29Speaker 3: I saw guys throwing what looked like rocks... I mean,
- 3:34Speaker 3: what is that?
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody saw that, Ted. That was one of the
- 3:38Speaker 1: lasting impressions we'll have of last week.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Did you see this, though, on the news?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw it on the news.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Right, I saw it on CNN where these guys are
- 3:48Speaker 3: throwing rocks. So I've got to ask myself if I'm
- 3:51Speaker 3: a hotel owner or if I'm somebody who's in the
- 3:54Speaker 3: spa and resort business, and I've had my eye on
- 3:58Speaker 3: the West Bank and I've had my eye on the
- 3:59Speaker 3: Gaza Strip, Do I want to put in, let's say,
- 4:03Speaker 3: about a 3,000-room resort hotel now, or do I want
- 4:06Speaker 3: to wait until I get a little bit of a
- 4:09Speaker 3: better feel of this deal? Because if all these guys
- 4:11Speaker 3: know how to do is throw rocks or whatever they got,
- 4:13Speaker 3: I don't know exactly what the opportunities are.
- 4:16Speaker 2: All right, Ted Bell is with us.
- 4:17Speaker 1: He's with Ted's at Beverly Hills Steakhouse. Are you at
- 4:20Speaker 1: the office right now?
- 4:21Speaker 3: I'm in the restaurant now, Phil, yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 1: And we're talking about the Palestinian and Israeli conflict in
- 4:26Speaker 1: the Middle East. Now, you're looking at this from a
- 4:28Speaker 1: business standpoint. Your statement that the Palestinians are blowing it
- 4:32Speaker 1: because there are spa and hotel opportunities.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Nobody wants to invest, Bill, in a part of the world.
- 4:41Speaker 3: where you're going to the bathroom in a bucket and
- 4:45Speaker 3: you're leaving it at the side of the road. You
- 4:47Speaker 3: have to begin to build some kind of an infrastructure.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But here's the thing. They're fighting for a homeland, okay?
- 4:55Speaker 1: You understand the Palestinians are fighting for a homeland.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Let me give you a little piece of advice about
- 5:03Speaker 3: this homeland stuff, because I've been hearing about this. I
- 5:06Speaker 3: was watching CNN last week, and they were saying that
- 5:08Speaker 3: the Palestine people want to have a homeland, okay?
- 5:12Speaker 2: Yes, as we all did.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Okay. This homeland stuff's really upsetting a lot of important people.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Like what?
- 5:18Speaker 3: Well, what kind of a homeland will you have when
- 5:21Speaker 3: you don't have grocery stores, you don't have water, you
- 5:23Speaker 3: don't have power? And let me tell you a little
- 5:26Speaker 3: thing about golf so that your audience is absolutely clear, okay? Hello,
- 5:31Speaker 3: you need water for golf courses, all right? Otherwise, the
- 5:34Speaker 3: grass doesn't grow. All right, so these Palestine people, they're
- 5:37Speaker 3: making a lot of very important people angry. Now, I
- 5:41Speaker 3: have a friend over in Beirut. He's an Arab. His
- 5:43Speaker 3: name is Farouk Magbar, and he's embarrassed to be an
- 5:47Speaker 3: Arab right now. He made a very nice dollar in
- 5:50Speaker 3: the dot-com business, and he tells me these Arabs need
- 5:52Speaker 3: to step back, step off, grab a shower, start thinking
- 5:56Speaker 3: about what a can of worms they've opened up.
- 5:59Speaker 2: All right, hold on for a minute, because you're saying
- 6:01Speaker 2: a whole lot here.
- 6:02Speaker 1: So far, you're putting the whole thing on the Palestinians,
- 6:05Speaker 1: that they're blowing it because they're missing some investment opportunity,
- 6:09Speaker 1: that there's some big hotels and big spas and big
- 6:12Speaker 1: golf courses that want to be built there in Palestine.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Yeah, the West Bank over there and the Gaza.
- 6:18Speaker 3: What is the Golan Heights? Is that the guys in
- 6:20Speaker 3: the strip?
- 6:20Speaker 2: No, the Golan Heights is the Golan Heights.
- 6:22Speaker 3: All right, well, the guys, they want to do it.
- 6:24Speaker 3: But now they're getting nervous because these kids are taking
- 6:26Speaker 3: to the street tossing rocks. This Homeland stuff, this is
- 6:30Speaker 3: going to be only bad news when it comes time
- 6:33Speaker 3: to put in a bed and breakfast. And we've got
- 6:35Speaker 3: people lined up right now who want to put in
- 6:38Speaker 3: a bed and breakfast and as well invest in an
- 6:41Speaker 3: 18-hole championship. You can't do that when you're doing all
- 6:44Speaker 3: this Homeland nonsense. So what I would say is back off,
- 6:49Speaker 3: take a look, take a deep breath, look at the
- 6:51Speaker 3: opportunities that are passing you by.
- 6:53Speaker 1: All right, 1-800-449-8686 is the number as we talk to
- 6:56Speaker 1: Ted Bell about the Palestinian people blowing investment opportunities.
- 7:03Speaker 3: They get a homeland, it's going to be a bunch
- 7:06Speaker 3: of people in.
- 7:10Speaker 3: You know, it's going to be a bunch of people
- 7:11Speaker 3: in tents getting water from a well with a bucket, okay?
- 7:13Speaker 3: I'll tell you something.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I know it's... All right, hold on for a minute.
- 7:17Speaker 5: 1-800-449-8686.
- 7:17Speaker 1: They've got a homeland. It's a bunch of people in
- 7:19Speaker 1: tents getting water in buckets.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Is that it?
- 7:22Speaker 3: Yeah, because what they're doing is they're blowing the opportunity
- 7:24Speaker 3: for developing an infrastructure. The resort hotel business... Let me
- 7:28Speaker 3: tell you something. We can put in hotels over in Palestine,
- 7:31Speaker 3: swankier than any rub joint we've got in Vegas... The
- 7:35Speaker 3: showgirls will kick your teeth out, draw chips for everybody
- 7:38Speaker 3: in the room, okay? They don't want to do this.
- 7:41Speaker 3: All they want to do is set fire to police state.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I saw a kid the other day, you wouldn't believe this.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I'm looking at TV. Now, these are people who can
- 7:47Speaker 3: have a beautiful, swanky resort. They're setting fire to tires
- 7:50Speaker 3: and rolling them down the street.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there is a very highly charged political situation going
- 7:58Speaker 1: on over there.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I know that, but what I'm trying to tell
- 8:01Speaker 3: you is they're blowing it. And they're blowing the.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Just wait a minute.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It's a highly charged emotional, it's religious, it's political, it's longstanding.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Right now, it is literally a battle for territory. And
- 8:16Speaker 1: I don't know if you know the anthropologist or have
- 8:18Speaker 1: read the anthropologist Robert Ardrey's work.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Do you know who he is?
- 8:21Speaker 3: No, I don't. I never saw that.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:24Speaker 1: He wrote a book once called The Territorial Imperative. It
- 8:27Speaker 1: is his theory that the strongest urge that man has
- 8:31Speaker 1: is not for sex or procreation. The very strongest drive
- 8:35Speaker 1: in the human animal is for territory, is for a
- 8:39Speaker 1: place to nest, is for a place to live. That's
- 8:42Speaker 1: what you're screwing with down there when you screw with
- 8:44Speaker 1: the fact that people.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I'm not screwing with it. They got guys lighting tires
- 8:47Speaker 3: on fire and rolling down the street. They might as
- 8:49Speaker 3: well be playing with their own doo-doo. Do you understand
- 8:53Speaker 3: what I'm saying? Do you understand what I'm saying? They
- 8:56Speaker 3: have an opportunity of putting in some of the swankiest
- 8:58Speaker 3: rub joints, beautiful resort hotels, and they're playing with their
- 9:02Speaker 3: own doo-doo. They're rolling down tires.
- 9:05Speaker 2: They're fighting over a very fundamental principle. I just said it.
- 9:09Speaker 3: No, I know what you mean about the territory deal.
- 9:12Speaker 1: It's a very fundamental thing, territory. It is the most
- 9:15Speaker 1: important thing and the strongest drive. the human race has,
- 9:20Speaker 1: and that war, every war, is about that, Ted.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to tell you something right now. They've
- 9:28Speaker 3: got about 30 days, and there's some real important hotel people,
- 9:32Speaker 3: some spa people, bed and breakfast people who are going
- 9:34Speaker 3: to pull their money out.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Who are these people?
- 9:36Speaker 3: I'm not at liberty.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Give me a name.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I'm not at liberty. Right now, I can't tell you.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Are they American Ted Bell from Ted's at Beverly Hills Steakhouse?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:45Speaker 1: And we've had a few people say, why do I
- 9:47Speaker 1: have on a guy who is a restaurant owner talking
- 9:50Speaker 1: about the Middle East problem? But you say that, Ted,
- 9:52Speaker 1: what you have is a particularly good insight into the situation.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Because of the economics, Bill. The economics are at the
- 10:01Speaker 3: heart and soul of everything. And I will tell you
- 10:04Speaker 3: right now what the Palestinians need is economic development and empowerment.
- 10:08Speaker 3: They've got a homeland. It's going to be a bunch
- 10:11Speaker 3: of people, like I said to you. I'll tell you something.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I know it's a religious consideration, but how can you
- 10:17Speaker 3: put the welfare... of a country, of the search for
- 10:20Speaker 3: a homeland, in the hands of a guy that can't
- 10:22Speaker 3: enjoy a good highball or a glass of white wine,
- 10:25Speaker 3: and I'm talking about a Muslim. You're talking about Arafat?
- 10:28Speaker 3: You got it. Arafat and the rest of these people
- 10:31Speaker 3: that can't even have a glass of such. They're blowing
- 10:34Speaker 3: the opportunity to get started in the 21st century with
- 10:37Speaker 3: beautiful resort hotels. swanky places, swanker than anything we've gotten big,
- 10:42Speaker 3: the showgirls that kick your teeth out and will draw
- 10:44Speaker 3: chips for everyone in the room. And get this party
- 10:46Speaker 3: started right instead of this rock-throwing that's embarrassing some very
- 10:49Speaker 3: important people. And I've got to tell you something, Phil,
- 10:51Speaker 3: there's a lot of important people that were lined up
- 10:53Speaker 3: to invest over here, over in the Palestine deal. They're embarrassed, okay?
- 11:00Speaker 3: I can't say who, but I will tell you they
- 11:03Speaker 3: are in the luxury hotel and gaming business.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Okay. You're making a lot of claims. I don't know
- 11:07Speaker 2: who these guys are.
- 11:08Speaker 3: They're very important.
- 11:09Speaker 2: They may be very important.
- 11:11Speaker 1: But I don't know who they are. So let's take
- 11:13Speaker 1: a phone call and see what else everybody else has
- 11:15Speaker 1: got to say here. I mean, you know, swanky hotels
- 11:17Speaker 1: and everything else. These guys are right now, things are
- 11:19Speaker 1: a little bad over there. West Palm Beach on the
- 11:21Speaker 1: Phil Henry Show.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Hello. Yes. Yes, sir.
- 11:24Speaker 6: How are you doing?
- 11:27Speaker 3: I'd just like to... You've got to start somewhere, Phil. Right.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Hello. Yes, go ahead, sir.
- 11:31Speaker 6: Yes, about the hotels and the investments and all that,
- 11:34Speaker 6: I think that, you know, I do agree with him.
- 11:38Speaker 3: It's a little bit.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Embarrassing, but there's a situation that this embarrassment is coming up,
- 11:42Speaker 6: and it's not coming up out of nothing, because these
- 11:45Speaker 6: people that they threw in the rocks, first of all,
- 11:47Speaker 6: they are looking for their hope. They are trying to
- 11:48Speaker 6: get their homeland back.
- 11:51Speaker 3: That homeland deal is going to kill them when it
- 11:53Speaker 3: comes time. We're talking about 300 rooms. I could get
- 11:56Speaker 3: a 300-room resort hotel in there right now, and they're
- 11:59Speaker 3: talking about, what is this, a homeland? That's going to
- 12:02Speaker 3: kill you with that Homeland deal.
- 12:04Speaker 6: I agree with you about the investors and all that,
- 12:06Speaker 6: but you see, the thing about this, I don't know
- 12:08Speaker 6: who's the investor you're talking about.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Well, I know some people.
- 12:13Speaker 6: And I just want to let you know that there
- 12:14Speaker 6: are Israeli investors and wealthy people that are more than willing.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Absolutely. There are a lot of people lined up ready
- 12:21Speaker 3: to go, but these guys want to start rolling tires
- 12:23Speaker 3: down the street. Next thing you know, they're going to
- 12:25Speaker 3: be playing with their own doo-doo.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Would you not say that anymore?
- 12:28Speaker 3: Well, I mean, it's embarrassing.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Look, their kids throw in rocks because they don't have guns.
- 12:33Speaker 1: If they had guns, it would probably be a lot.
- 12:35Speaker 1: So there is, even though it looks like madness, a
- 12:38Speaker 1: purpose to their madness.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Next thing you know, Phil, they're going to be playing
- 12:41Speaker 3: with their own doo-doo.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Will you stop with that?
- 12:44Speaker 6: Yeah, I think you need to stop with that. It's
- 12:46Speaker 6: not proper on the radio.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Well, I'm sorry.
- 12:48Speaker 6: It's embarrassing. Anyhow, my point here is, is anything that
- 12:54Speaker 6: were to happen, I think that the first thing that
- 12:56Speaker 6: had to happen is peace.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Right. Well, I tell you, I've got a very good friend.
- 13:00Speaker 6: That's the first problem that we have to take care of.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I've got a very good friend.
- 13:03Speaker 6: I am an Israeli, and I have lived there, born there,
- 13:05Speaker 6: and raised there.
- 13:06Speaker 3: God bless you.
- 13:06Speaker 6: And I know what I'm talking about. I don't think you,
- 13:08Speaker 6: you may have visited there.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you something. I disagree with.
- 13:12Speaker 6: You that Palestinians know only how to throw rocks. Because
- 13:17Speaker 6: they're not throwing rocks at anything.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Well, I don't know what they're doing.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Let me ask you what they are throwing rocks at.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Sir, do you know that those kids, those very kids
- 13:22Speaker 3: that are throwing rocks, could be handing out towels at
- 13:24Speaker 3: a beautiful pool, could be bringing over a nice cocktail
- 13:28Speaker 3: to somebody's poolside?
- 13:30Speaker 6: I agree with you 100%.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Cleaning up a hotel room.
- 13:34Speaker 6: What are they throwing the rocks at?
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yes, they're throwing the rocks because they, yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you what, Phil, you know Chip Weeman, right?
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:41Speaker 3: All right. I said to Chip, look, there's an investment
- 13:44Speaker 3: opportunity over in the West Bank. I think it's going
- 13:45Speaker 3: to be beautiful. He said, what's that? I flip on
- 13:47Speaker 3: the TV, there's some kid tossing a rock. He goes,
- 13:50Speaker 3: is that the West Bank you want me to invest in?
- 13:53Speaker 3: I said, holy jeez, don't I feel like the dumbass. So,
- 13:56Speaker 3: you know, these are the things.
- 13:57Speaker 1: All right, your business is interesting, and your business is interesting.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Thank you, sir, for your call from West Palm Beach
- 14:03Speaker 1: this afternoon and this evening.
- 14:04Speaker 2: But somehow there's something.
- 14:08Speaker 3: What?
- 14:08Speaker 1: There's just something that isn't ringing right about talking about
- 14:11Speaker 1: this stuff. Here's Wilmington on the Phil Henry Show.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Hello.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Wilmington, hello. Hello, Terry.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Yes, good evening.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Good evening, ma'am.
- 14:18Speaker 5: I have one point. I'm very sad by your caller's
- 14:22Speaker 5: comments that he wants to build hotels over there when
- 14:26Speaker 5: people are dying. I find it very repulsive, actually.
- 14:30Speaker 3: You do not want economic development. Is that what I'm hearing?
- 14:32Speaker 3: You want to have just a bunch of guys rolling
- 14:34Speaker 3: burning tires down the street? It's embarrassing a lot of
- 14:36Speaker 3: important people.
- 14:37Speaker 5: No, it's embarrassing because innocent people are dying, and all
- 14:41Speaker 5: you're thinking about is building a hotel.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Well, let me ask you this question. Would you rather
- 14:46Speaker 3: see innocent people dying, or would you rather be taking
- 14:49Speaker 3: a nice spring dive into a beautiful infinity pool and
- 14:53Speaker 3: getting your lunch poolside, huh? Okay? And going seeing a
- 14:57Speaker 3: beautiful show and a.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Oh, come on, Ted.
- 15:00Speaker 3: No, I'm asking the lady a question. Would you rather
- 15:02Speaker 3: see people dying or would you rather see a guy
- 15:04Speaker 3: doing a swan dive off of a springboard?
- 15:06Speaker 5: I would actually rather see peace over there.
- 15:09Speaker 3: There you go. That's what I'm talking about, a peace
- 15:11Speaker 3: of something special. You say P-A-E-C-I-C-P-I-E-C-E. Let's get a peace.
- 15:17Speaker 5: No, thank you. I don't really like your comments. I
- 15:20Speaker 5: think you actually need help.
- 15:22Speaker 3: No, ma'am.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Good evening.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I need help because I want to give people my– hello?
- 15:26Speaker 3: What is wrong with these? Is this the– is that
- 15:28Speaker 3: a Palestine person?
- 15:30Speaker 2: You're asking me?
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I don't know where she's from.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I mean, what's wrong with these people? Don't they understand
- 15:35Speaker 3: they've got the goose that's laying the golden egg, and
- 15:38Speaker 3: they're about to crap it right out into the street? Phil,
- 15:41Speaker 3: I'm talking about the goose that can lay the golden egg,
- 15:44Speaker 3: and it's turning into a little diarrhea squirt with these people.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Ted, your way of putting things is offensive to me.
- 15:50Speaker 3: What?
- 15:50Speaker 2: It's offensive to me, and it's offensive to callers.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I know economic development is important, but first things first, okay?
- 15:57Speaker 2: Van Nuys on the Phil Henry Show. Hello. Hi. Yes, sir, hi.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Yeah, my name is David.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Yes, David.
- 16:02Speaker 4: How are you, David? Yes, sir. You don't want money?
- 16:04Speaker 4: You don't want to develop your country?
- 16:07Speaker 3: Jesus.
- 16:23Speaker 4: All over the country.
- 16:24Speaker 3: That's what you want. You know how you do that?
- 16:26Speaker 3: You say, bars open, drinks on me. That's how you
- 16:29Speaker 3: stop killing. That's the way I've done it.
- 16:31Speaker 4: No, my friend. This is not the way. This is
- 16:33Speaker 4: not the way to stop the killing.
- 16:34Speaker 3: I stopped a bar fight that way.
- 16:35Speaker 4: And if you want to be fair, you want to
- 16:36Speaker 4: give us something?
- 16:37Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Give us weapons.
- 16:39Speaker 3: To fight, just like they're doing to me. Yeah, that'll
- 16:41Speaker 3: stop the killing, all right. Let's give you a weapon.
- 16:43Speaker 4: No, no, no, no. That'll protect our stuff. That'll protect
- 16:46Speaker 4: our house.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that'll stop the killing.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Why do you think we're throwing rocks?
- 16:50Speaker 3: Why do you think we're throwing rocks? Well, let me
- 16:52Speaker 3: ask you a question, sir.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Why do you think we're throwing rocks?
- 16:54Speaker 2: There's no guns that they're throwing rocks.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Let me ask the gentleman a question. Are you a Palestinian, sir?
- 16:59Speaker 4: Yes, I am a Palestinian.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question. How about a swanky
- 17:02Speaker 3: 3,000-room casino? Chips for everybody, okay? All of those kids
- 17:10Speaker 3: that you saw throwing rocks last week, imagine those guys
- 17:13Speaker 3: driving those little golf carts, taking people to their rooms.
- 17:16Speaker 4: No, my friend. We're not going to sell our country
- 17:18Speaker 4: for no casino for no money.
- 17:20Speaker 3: What you'd rather do, you want to keep watering camels
- 17:23Speaker 3: over there. That's your business, but I don't think you should.
- 17:25Speaker 3: We're proud of that. We're very proud of that. I
- 17:28Speaker 3: don't think you should be speaking for everybody. Yes, I am.
- 17:31Speaker 4: We're very proud of that. I don't think you can.
- 17:33Speaker 3: And another thing, this religion deal. Do you guys, you
- 17:36Speaker 3: don't drink at all, is that right?
- 17:38Speaker 4: What do you say?
- 17:39Speaker 3: Do you drink at all? Can you drink booze?
- 17:40Speaker 4: No, no, we don't drink.
- 17:42Speaker 3: See, that's going to mess you up.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Some of us do drink, but not everybody drinks.
- 17:45Speaker 3: That's going to mess you up.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Does not this give you the right to kill our children?
- 17:49Speaker 3: No, I'm not killing your children. I want to put
- 17:51Speaker 3: them to work in the cabanas.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Who asked you for casinos?
- 17:55Speaker 3: How am I killing your children? I want to put
- 17:58Speaker 3: them to work sweeping floors.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Listen, let me tell you something. You want us to
- 18:01Speaker 4: stop throwing rocks?
- 18:02Speaker 3: Huh?
- 18:03Speaker 4: You want us to stop throwing rocks?
- 18:04Speaker 3: Well, that would be nice.
- 18:05Speaker 4: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>.
- 18:08Speaker 3: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 18:35Speaker 3: Can I ask you a thing? Could you please remove
- 18:39Speaker 3: the telephone from your pocket?
- 18:41Speaker 4: Give us half of that, even. And we'll show you
- 18:43Speaker 4: what we could do.
- 18:44Speaker 3: We can't just turn the.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Now, how about that?
- 18:46Speaker 1: Why not give money to Israel when I give money
- 18:48Speaker 1: to the Palestinians?
- 18:49Speaker 3: You can't just turn money over to these people. They
- 18:51Speaker 3: don't know that.
- 18:51Speaker 2: What do you mean, these people?
- 18:53Speaker 3: Well, they don't know how to build a thing.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I don't know. We don't exist. We are animals. No, no, no.
- 18:57Speaker 4: You're not animals. If you want to say something about
- 19:00Speaker 4: the two guys.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I'll ask you a question. I'll ask you a basic question.
- 19:02Speaker 4: The one that got killed yesterday?
- 19:04Speaker 3: You got a 97% payoff on a slot machine.
- 19:07Speaker 4: You're going crazy.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Well, let me ask you a question.
- 19:08Speaker 4: What do you think about the kids that are dying
- 19:10Speaker 4: every day? Thousands. Thousands of them.
- 19:13Speaker 3: And they could be sweeping the beach. Now, what do
- 19:15Speaker 3: you think a 97% payoff on a slot machine? What
- 19:17Speaker 3: does that mean to you? You don't know. See?
- 19:19Speaker 4: How can I give this guy... What are you talking about?
- 19:21Speaker 4: Did you see the knife I... The Nightline, the other
- 19:23Speaker 4: night with Ted.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Koppel, did you see it?
- 19:27Speaker 4: Ted Koppel was in a knife fight?
- 19:30Speaker 1: No, he wasn't in a knife fight. Did you see
- 19:32Speaker 1: Nightline with Ted Koppel? All right, sir, thank you for
- 19:34Speaker 1: your call. God, I'm worn out.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you something right now. 97% payoff
- 19:38Speaker 3: at this level. Oh, hold on. 1-800-449-8686.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Phil Henry Show. Ted Bell is with us. We're talking
- 19:45Speaker 1: about the Middle East situation right now. A violent, scary, fright. probably,
- 19:51Speaker 1: you know, on the verge of war situation. And you're
- 19:54Speaker 1: saying there's a lot of investors lined up to put
- 19:56Speaker 1: in resort hotels, golf courses, polo fields, and you mentioned
- 20:02Speaker 1: pools and.
- 20:03Speaker 2: All kinds of things.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Some great restaurants, Phil. Can you imagine? I'm not saying
- 20:08Speaker 3: that they're going to do it. Can you imagine a
- 20:10Speaker 3: wonderful Ruth's Chris right there in the West Bank? You
- 20:12Speaker 3: could go in and relax and have a cocktail. And
- 20:14Speaker 3: that was the other thing I wanted to mention about them.
- 20:16Speaker 3: They don't have highballs over there, but maybe they can
- 20:19Speaker 3: loosen the rules over there. What I'm saying primarily, though, Phil,
- 20:21Speaker 3: is there's a lot of money riding on this, okay?
- 20:23Speaker 3: When you turn your TV set on and you see
- 20:26Speaker 3: some kids dropping some guy out of a window, I
- 20:30Speaker 3: was embarrassed. Chip Wheeler looked at me and said, what
- 20:33Speaker 3: are you doing? And I said, Chip, I'm going to
- 20:36Speaker 3: go over there, try to put in a hotel, and
- 20:38Speaker 3: some guy's going to drop me out of a window.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I said, it's an Israeli cop. You don't understand. He said,
- 20:42Speaker 3: I don't care. You know, I go over there, some
- 20:45Speaker 3: guy drops me headfirst out of a window. To me,
- 20:48Speaker 3: that's all I know. It's bad business. And that's why
- 20:50Speaker 3: I think we have to tell these kids, get over there,
- 20:54Speaker 3: talk to them, and tell them we've got jobs. We've
- 20:56Speaker 3: got solid gold jobs for every one of them. If
- 21:00Speaker 3: they'll just stop with this nonsense. and quit throwing rocks
- 21:04Speaker 3: and let's get down to the business of getting some
- 21:06Speaker 3: more towels out to the pool and getting some bathrooms
- 21:10Speaker 3: ready for our guests.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Hey, how about some of the Palestinians being guests in
- 21:15Speaker 2: their own hotels?
- 21:17Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Phil?
- 21:17Speaker 1: How about the Palestinians? You've been talking about them getting
- 21:20Speaker 1: some towels ready for the guests. By the way, we
- 21:23Speaker 1: could import some really, the Asian teens who do that
- 21:25Speaker 1: massage work. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's really great. How
- 21:29Speaker 1: is it that, how about if the Palestinians are guests
- 21:32Speaker 1: at their own hotel?
- 21:33Speaker 3: If the Palestinians are guests at their own hotel? Yeah. Hey,
- 21:36Speaker 3: I'm all for it. If they've got the money and
- 21:39Speaker 3: they've got proper credit and they can secure a room
- 21:42Speaker 3: with a credit card, yeah. I just didn't know that
- 21:44Speaker 3: that was it.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Okay, you know, hold on. Westwood on the Phil Henry Show, hello. I, sir.
- 21:50Speaker 7: You, you're disgusting. The most racist, shallow person I have
- 21:55Speaker 7: ever heard speak. This is not about money.
- 21:57Speaker 3: You talking to Phil Hendry?
- 21:59Speaker 7: No, I'm talking to you.
- 22:00Speaker 2: She's talking to you.
- 22:02Speaker 7: This is not about money over there. And you're saying
- 22:04Speaker 7: you're embarrassed by the fact that they're throwing rocks at people.
- 22:08Speaker 7: You should be embarrassed that you are so shallow and
- 22:10Speaker 7: uninformed that you don't even know what the conflict is
- 22:12Speaker 7: about over there.
- 22:14Speaker 3: It's about a couple of guys who want to get
- 22:16Speaker 3: a homeland, and I'm telling you that a homeland deal
- 22:18Speaker 3: is going to sink them.
- 22:20Speaker 7: A homeland deal?
- 22:21Speaker 4: They want a homeland.
- 22:22Speaker 3: You know what I'd do? I'd start a beautiful, swank
- 22:25Speaker 3: 3,000-room hotel, and we'll call it the Homeland Resort. And
- 22:28Speaker 3: you've got a beautiful pool. You've got a gorgeous 918-hole
- 22:32Speaker 3: golf course.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Do you think that these people, a beautiful pool is
- 22:35Speaker 7: their highest value?
- 22:36Speaker 3: Is that your value? They need economic investment, man. They
- 22:39Speaker 3: need jobs. I'm ready right now. Right now I can
- 22:42Speaker 3: get those people employed.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you can get them employed making drinks at the bar.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Oh, we're being picky now. Oh, excuse me. Why don't
- 22:52Speaker 3: I make them all CEOs of a major corporation? You
- 22:54Speaker 3: know what, Phil? I started out working at the pool.
- 22:56Speaker 3: I started out doing some of those menial jobs. What's
- 22:58Speaker 3: wrong with these kids? They're throwing rocks. Why don't you
- 23:00Speaker 3: put them to work folding towels at the pool? It's good, hard,
- 23:04Speaker 3: decent work.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, kid, when you're done rolling that tire down
- 23:09Speaker 1: the street that's on fire, how about folding some towels
- 23:12Speaker 1: at the pool?
- 23:12Speaker 3: Well, it's better than dropping a guy out of a window,
- 23:15Speaker 3: I'll tell you that. Or maybe the lady in Westwood
- 23:17Speaker 3: doesn't think so. Maybe she'd rather see them roll burning
- 23:20Speaker 3: tires down the street rather than make her a nice chichi,
- 23:24Speaker 3: a delicious margarita. For who? For who to enjoy? For
- 23:27Speaker 3: you to enjoy?
- 23:28Speaker 8: For you to go over there?
- 23:29Speaker 3: I assume you're American. Are you American?
- 23:31Speaker 8: Yes, I am.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Then it would be for you to enjoy, and a
- 23:33Speaker 3: nice salad.
- 23:34Speaker 7: No, and to exploit these poor.
- 23:36Speaker 2: What if she was Palestinian? What if she was Palestinian?
- 23:39Speaker 3: Then after he got off, he could have himself a margarita.
- 23:43Speaker 2: And after he got off his shift.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 7: Do you understand that some people have values that are
- 23:47Speaker 7: higher than money?
- 23:49Speaker 3: Oh, I see. The value is, let's hit that building
- 23:52Speaker 3: over there with a rock.
- 23:53Speaker 4: No, no.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a really great value.
- 23:55Speaker 7: The value is in who they are and upholding their beliefs.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Well, you know what? I'd like to show a videotape
- 24:02Speaker 3: to these kids of every one of them tossing those
- 24:04Speaker 3: rocks and dropping that guy out of a window. Hey,
- 24:06Speaker 3: here you are. This is what you guys represent. Me,
- 24:09Speaker 3: what do I represent? I'll tell you what, the dancers
- 24:11Speaker 3: will kick your teeth out. Let's draw chips for everybody
- 24:13Speaker 3: in the room. That's what I represent. You're disgusting. I
- 24:15Speaker 3: represent that.
- 24:16Speaker 7: You make me sick.
- 24:17Speaker 4: No.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Oh, I make you sick because I have money?
- 24:19Speaker 7: No, you make me sick because you think that that's
- 24:22Speaker 7: all people do. That's what all people aspire to, is
- 24:25Speaker 7: to be able to sit by the pool. and have
- 24:28Speaker 7: a highball, and throw some chips around? Do you think
- 24:31Speaker 7: that's all people aspire to?
- 24:33Speaker 3: As opposed to what? Squatting behind a building and crapping
- 24:35Speaker 3: with your own hands?
- 24:36Speaker 4: No, making a difference.
- 24:37Speaker 8: How about all of.
- 24:38Speaker 7: I mean, there are people all over this world. There's
- 24:40Speaker 7: people right next door to you who can't even eat.
- 24:43Speaker 3: You know what, I would rather.
- 24:44Speaker 7: Who don't have a place to live.
- 24:45Speaker 3: I would rather sit... I'm offering them a job, and
- 24:47Speaker 3: I'd rather sit by a pool and drink from a
- 24:49Speaker 3: nice drink than drink from a well that was just...
- 24:51Speaker 3: Somebody just washed their clothes in.
- 24:53Speaker 7: How about educating yourself?
- 24:56Speaker 3: I am educated. You know what it's called? It's called
- 24:58Speaker 3: Professor Franklin, Dr. Grant, Professor Washington. You know who those
- 25:03Speaker 3: teachers are? Take a look at a one or a
- 25:05Speaker 3: five or a ten or a.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Okay, we got it, Ted. Ma'am, thank you for your call.
- 25:09Speaker 1: We understand, but the condensation or the con... Yeah, the conden.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Like condensed milk?
- 25:14Speaker 1: No.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I can't think of the word.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Go ahead, talk show host. What's the word?
- 25:19Speaker 2: Condescending. That's the one that I was thinking of.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Hey, he got it. If that guy, Phil, let me
- 25:25Speaker 3: tell you something.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Ted.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Wait.
- 25:27Speaker 3: If that guy who rolled the burning tire down the
- 25:29Speaker 3: street could juggle burning tires, we could put him in
- 25:31Speaker 3: a show. If the kid who threw those rocks could
- 25:33Speaker 3: get on the mound for the New York Yankees, we'd
- 25:35Speaker 3: put him in Major League Baseball. If the guy that
- 25:38Speaker 3: dropped that cop out of that window could actually drop
- 25:41Speaker 3: bombs from an airplane, we'd have himself in an air
- 25:43Speaker 3: show out here at Point Magoo. These guys don't know
- 25:46Speaker 3: how to do it. I can train these guys.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, dropping bombs out of an airplane.
- 25:49Speaker 3: That's right.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Al Cajon on the Phil Henry Show.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Hello.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Hi.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yes, hi.
- 25:54Speaker 8: I'd like to make a comment. For his resolution to
- 25:58Speaker 8: stop what's going on in the Middle East at the moment,
- 26:00Speaker 8: he would rather bring in casinos and bars to make
- 26:03Speaker 8: everything better, correct?
- 26:05Speaker 3: I'd like the economic investment, ma'am, yes.
- 26:07Speaker 6: Okay.
- 26:08Speaker 8: Do you realize that it's a Muslim-based country and that
- 26:12Speaker 8: most of the religion beliefs are not to bring in alcohol,
- 26:15Speaker 8: not to gamble and things like that? So in order
- 26:18Speaker 8: for them to better their country, they would rather bring
- 26:20Speaker 8: in something else.
- 26:21Speaker 3: You know, you've got to bend a little to get
- 26:22Speaker 3: a little. You've got to bend a little to get
- 26:24Speaker 3: a little.
- 26:24Speaker 8: Bend a little maybe in other countries, but not Muslim-based countries.
- 26:28Speaker 3: They're going to bend, too. Look at everybody.
- 26:29Speaker 8: No, they won't sell out their own country.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Ma'am, there's a party going on. It's called the 21st Century.
- 26:33Speaker 8: The party going on is probably in your area.
- 26:35Speaker 3: It's called the 21st Century.
- 26:36Speaker 8: People are not interested in that.
- 26:37Speaker 4: If you want to bring that.
- 26:38Speaker 3: The Muslims are going to get on board one way
- 26:40Speaker 3: or another.
- 26:40Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 26:41Speaker 8: If you can't do that here, then you're not going
- 26:43Speaker 8: to be able to do it there.
- 26:44Speaker 3: There's not a religion in the world that hasn't been
- 26:45Speaker 3: bought and can't be bought. And people, you're not going
- 26:46Speaker 3: to see kids.
- 26:47Speaker 8: Sell out their own country. Think that they believe in.
- 26:49Speaker 8: Just to sit there and serve other people alcohol.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, you start flashing $ 20 bills.
- 26:54Speaker 8: Or drive around their little golf cart.
- 26:55Speaker 3: You start flashing $ 20 bills under their nose. You'd be
- 26:57Speaker 3: surprised what could happen.
- 26:58Speaker 8: No, I'm sorry. People don't sell out as fast as
- 27:00Speaker 8: you might.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Muslims, Christians, Jews, it doesn't matter. Flash enough money in
- 27:04Speaker 3: front of them.
- 27:04Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Muslims.
- 27:05Speaker 3: They'll start coming their way.
- 27:06Speaker 8: The Muslim religion would be probably the most strongest religion
- 27:08Speaker 8: that you could probably find.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Yeah, we saw that one. That Iraqi. Yeah, those Iraqis
- 27:12Speaker 3: are really something else. Excuse me?
- 27:14Speaker 8: I am Iraqi as a matter of fact.
- 27:16Speaker 3: You guys are really tough in that Gulf War. But
- 27:18Speaker 3: what I want to say is.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Okay, what's the point of baiting this lady over her nationalism?
- 27:21Speaker 3: Well, she says she's tough.
- 27:22Speaker 8: No, I really don't mind. I'm trying to make a point.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I saw those guys crawling out of those trenches and
- 27:25Speaker 3: kissing those guys. What is that about them kissing them
- 27:27Speaker 3: when they're surrendering, huh? Does that mean they don't want
- 27:29Speaker 3: to get shot? I learned that from an Iraqi on TV. Okay, Ted,
- 27:33Speaker 3: you know.
- 27:33Speaker 8: You know what we can do?
- 27:35Speaker 3: I've got a great idea. We can have a gentleman's
- 27:37Speaker 3: club called the Gaza Strip Joint. What do you think
- 27:39Speaker 3: of that? The Gaza Strip Joint... Hey, we could put
- 27:43Speaker 3: you on stage.
- 27:45Speaker 8: Oh, I'm pretty sure. Okay, see, I wouldn't sell myself
- 27:48Speaker 8: out for a little casino the way that you tried to.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Do you know what I got for you? What?
- 27:54Speaker 8: $ 50, 000.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 27:55Speaker 3: Right now.
- 27:56Speaker 8: And does that mean I would want to take it?
- 27:58Speaker 3: No. You don't have to do anything for it. You
- 28:00Speaker 3: don't have to do anything for it.
- 28:01Speaker 8: I would rather break my back working for a penny
- 28:03Speaker 8: a day rather.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Than sell myself out. You hang on.
- 28:06Speaker 8: To go embarrass myself.
- 28:07Speaker 3: I'm going to give you $ 50, 000. Or to sell myself
- 28:09Speaker 3: out selling.
- 28:10Speaker 8: selling things that are illegal in my own mind, okay,
- 28:13Speaker 8: number one, and things that I don't believe in, just
- 28:19Speaker 8: because you think my country would benefit from it.
- 28:21Speaker 3: You'll take a drink of Teddy, won't you, too? I
- 28:24Speaker 3: got $ 50, 000 for you, no strings attached. Well, good for you.
- 28:26Speaker 8: I'm glad you do.
- 28:27Speaker 3: It's for you. No strings attached.
- 28:29Speaker 7: I don't want it.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Yes, you do.
- 28:30Speaker 8: You offering it to me seems like you're the devil
- 28:33Speaker 8: offering it to... The people that wouldn't want it, I'm sorry,
- 28:36Speaker 8: I don't settle for that.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Call me daddy. I wouldn't call you anything.
- 28:39Speaker 8: I would call you a double trying to put something
- 28:42Speaker 8: in a place that's not wanted. And that would not
- 28:44Speaker 8: bring peace to the area there.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Have you ever had a brandy, Alexander? It's chocolate and brandy.
- 28:49Speaker 3: You'd love it.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I've had it.
- 28:52Speaker 3: You like them? They're good, aren't they?
- 28:54Speaker 8: But that's not appropriate at this moment. It is not appropriate.
- 28:58Speaker 8: That is not what we're trying to do. We're not
- 29:00Speaker 8: trying to look for people up over there to make
- 29:02Speaker 8: them forget about their problems.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Do you ever bump your forehead on the ground?
- 29:05Speaker 8: Money the wrong way.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Hey, what do you guys do when you bump your
- 29:07Speaker 3: forehead on the ground? Do you ever.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Ted.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Oh, I get it. You're going to hang up on
- 29:11Speaker 3: me now because you're really upset with the things that I.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm upset with a lot of what I've been
- 29:15Speaker 1: hearing here, okay?
- 29:17Speaker 2: Do you ever bump your forehead on the ground?
- 29:19Speaker 3: I just was wondering.
- 29:21Speaker 2: All you did is come on this program and.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Let me beat you to it, Phil. Thank you very much.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Oh, okay, he hung up.
- 29:27Speaker 8: He can't stand it. When someone's trying to make a
- 29:29Speaker 8: point and proving him wrong, he can't stand it.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Are you Muslim, ma'am?
- 29:35Speaker 8: I am Catholic, as a matter of fact. I'm Chaldean.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Well, then you do drink. Just kidding.
- 29:39Speaker 8: I do, but it's people's choice, and I don't believe
- 29:41Speaker 8: that that's something that they would want to have in
- 29:43Speaker 8: a Muslim-run country.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Would you say you were Chaldean? Yeah. What's that?
- 29:47Speaker 8: Chaldean is a Catholic Arab. I'm from Iraq.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't... I think that's... Oh, that's interesting. I
- 29:54Speaker 2: have no idea.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Seriously, I was raised Catholic here in the United States.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I had no idea that the... Catholics in Iraq are
- 30:00Speaker 2: called Chaldean.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:02Speaker 2: That's an interesting thing. Well, some of them, yes. Some
- 30:05Speaker 2: Catholics in Iraq are called Chaldean?
- 30:07Speaker 4: Yes.
- 30:07Speaker 2: So not all of them?
- 30:09Speaker 8: Some Christians are just regular Iraqi Christians.
- 30:13Speaker 1: But the Catholics are called Chaldean. Were you able to
- 30:17Speaker 1: practice your religion there?
- 30:20Speaker 8: Yes, they were, very freely.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Very cool.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Were you able to take a drink every now and again,
- 30:24Speaker 1: a little Irish whiskey?
- 30:25Speaker 3: Hey, I wasn't born here. I was born here.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:27Speaker 8: But my point is, if you're trying to bring in
- 30:30Speaker 8: a casino resort there just to bring in profit, that's
- 30:33Speaker 8: not the right way. If you want to bring in
- 30:34Speaker 8: a profit there, bring it in some other way, but
- 30:37Speaker 8: that's not going to resolve any of the issues that
- 30:39Speaker 8: are going on there right now.
- 30:40Speaker 3: You ever given a massage at a hotel?
- 30:42Speaker 2: Okay, thank you. Thanks very much, Meg, for your call.
- 30:45Speaker 8: As a matter of fact, I've received one, and they
- 30:46Speaker 8: are very nice, but I don't think I'd be wanting
- 30:48Speaker 8: to receive them from children that are trying to win
- 30:50Speaker 8: over their country.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Did you ever give one? The more important question is, no,
- 30:51Speaker 3: you've got to know it. How are your fingers? You
- 30:53Speaker 3: work on my back.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Ted.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Oh, I get it. You're hanging up again. Goodbye.
