- 0:00SPEAKER_05: Okay, truth serum.
- 0:01SPEAKER_05: Should we start a podcast?
- 0:02SPEAKER_05: Um, I guess.
- 0:03SPEAKER_05: We're on the clock, we're flying high.
- 0:05SPEAKER_05: Hot takes headlines at the truth to say.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: Got my kitten heels, lip gloss afresh, and my medication got me feeling the best.
- 0:12SPEAKER_05: Every week, better check your phone.
- 0:13SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna read the room.
- 0:14SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna set the tone.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: It's something you can feel from your head to your toes.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: It's a truth serum.
- 0:18SPEAKER_05: Are you ready for your dose?
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: It's a truth serum.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Are you ready for your dose?
- 0:26SPEAKER_07: Good morning.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Good morning.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: How you doing?
- 0:29SPEAKER_07: Good.
- 0:32SPEAKER_07: And that's our episode today.
- 0:34SPEAKER_07: No, it genuinely.
- 0:35SPEAKER_07: Okay, what's your favorite morning song?
- 0:37SPEAKER_07: For example, do you remember um it's a good morning?
- 0:41SPEAKER_07: Wake up to a brand new day this morning.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: I don't.
- 0:47SPEAKER_07: Oh, Mandisa and Toby Mack?
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: I love Mandisa.
- 0:51SPEAKER_07: I know, make sure you rest in peace.
- 0:53SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 0:54SPEAKER_07: Oh hell.
- 0:55SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Mandisa died?
- 0:58SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Who was keeping this information from me?
- 1:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 1:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it was sad.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Wait.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: You always Okay, that's actually very insane.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: This is not a bit.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: You actually always tell me when someone passes.
- 1:13SPEAKER_07: Oh, I'm glad you brought that up.
- 1:15SPEAKER_07: There is something in me.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Speaking of passes.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna tell me another?
- 1:19SPEAKER_07: No.
- 1:20SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 1:20SPEAKER_07: Who else did I tell you died recently?
- 1:22SPEAKER_07: Oh, the other girl from Ice Princess.
- 1:24SPEAKER_07: Um I don't know.
- 1:27SPEAKER_07: I was talking to my friend about there is, I don't know what this is.
- 1:30SPEAKER_07: When somebody famous dies, I feel this like need to be the one who tells people.
- 1:38SPEAKER_07: That's not like what happened right now.
- 1:40SPEAKER_07: For example, let me explain.
- 1:42SPEAKER_07: When Dolly Parton died, why did I text 25 people?
- 1:47SPEAKER_07: But it came from a place of like there's something in me that feels like, wow, I get to be the one to like deliver the news.
- 1:53SPEAKER_07: Like I like I knew about this.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, there's gonna be a brand new case study about this.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: I have not heard that.
- 1:58SPEAKER_07: There's something in me that wants to be the one that tells people when somebody dies.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:03SPEAKER_07: Not personally, like people in our lives, but it's like even if it's like literally public news, like we all got the same news notification, but it's like I text, like I I don't know, there's something in me that feels like accomplished when I relay the information of a celebrity passing.
- 2:18SPEAKER_07: No, I understand.
- 2:20SPEAKER_07: And not like this with Mandisa, like I genuinely thought you knew that she passed.
- 2:23SPEAKER_07: When though like two, maybe two years ago.
- 2:26SPEAKER_07: Let me not be wrong.
- 2:27SPEAKER_07: Like two years ago.
- 2:28SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: No, you just said like the spirit of Town Crier.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 2:33SPEAKER_07: No, spirit of Paul Revere.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: No, genuinely.
- 2:36SPEAKER_07: But um, and I don't know where he stood politically, so don't read into that.
- 2:39SPEAKER_07: But um, but um, yeah, may she rest in peace.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: May she.
- 2:45SPEAKER_07: Uh, the other good morning song is I feel like good morning Baltimore from Hairspray.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: I don't know any good morning songs.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Is that crazy?
- 2:53SPEAKER_07: Good morning, Baltimore.
- 2:56SPEAKER_07: So with this air, like I guess I added vibrato to that just in case we ever have any scouters that are listening to this.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: No, there's a couple.
- 3:03SPEAKER_07: Baltimore.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: No, give us another.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Give us a whole run.
- 3:07SPEAKER_07: I don't want to do a run right now.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:09SPEAKER_07: What were you gonna say though?
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: I was just gonna say that, like, what do you mean by good morning songs though?
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Like, I like is this a category on like Jeopardy?
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 3:17SPEAKER_07: Like it's a good morning, like I don't know.
- 3:18SPEAKER_07: Like that Mandisa's song talks about the morning.
- 3:21SPEAKER_07: Good morning, Baltimore.
- 3:22SPEAKER_07: That's like a song about the morning.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:25SPEAKER_07: I genuinely don't know about morning songs.
- 3:27SPEAKER_07: I just wanted to get a conversation rolling.
- 3:28SPEAKER_07: And since then, we've been able to talk about two things.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Oh no, you're so good.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:32SPEAKER_07: I actually don't know any more good morning songs.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Well, that was a good starter.
- 3:36SPEAKER_07: Coffee in the morning.
- 3:37SPEAKER_07: Do you remember that song?
- 3:38SPEAKER_07: No.
- 3:38SPEAKER_07: Oh, I just made it up.
- 3:40SPEAKER_07: Very dramatic.
- 3:41SPEAKER_07: No, I'm kidding.
- 3:41SPEAKER_07: No, it is a song.
- 3:42SPEAKER_07: But uh anyway, so how was your week?
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: My week was good.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I'm just I I've just been having a lot of long days.
- 3:52SPEAKER_07: And honestly, I need to admit the days are long and the years are short.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 3:56SPEAKER_07: I don't know what that means, but like days like feel super long, but then you look back and it's like the years go by like that.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's so true.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: I don't know what I'm feeling right now.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: I'm just feeling like I have nothing to say.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Like I just like you know what I'm saying?
- 4:09SPEAKER_07: Well, that's perfect considering we have a podcast.
- 4:11SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: So I need to I need another topic maybe to get me started.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Maybe I can get started on the Riote or something.
- 4:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah, let's address this like yeah, please address this thing behind me because I don't want to take responsibility for this.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: So our random item of episode is my The Riote.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: The Ryote is my brand new, brand like fresh off the press.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: My O-Cedar mop.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, listen.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: So I bought a cheap one off of I think Timu a couple years ago.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Something like that.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:45SPEAKER_05: A Timu Mop?
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: A Timu Mop.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: And it, wow, it worked.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, it worked.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: I also take really good care of my mop heads.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: I know it's really crazy, but like since I knew it as a part of my house management job, like I have my like mop head wash routine down.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so also to say, I have been wanting this O-Cedar mop for years.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And when I tell people that, they're like, oh my gosh, yeah, just save up for it, save up for it.
- 5:08SPEAKER_07: Like, it's how expensive is this mop?
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: It's like$30 something dollars.
- 5:11SPEAKER_07: Oh, okay.
- 5:12SPEAKER_07: Save up.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Girl, listen.
- 5:14SPEAKER_07: We spend that on breakfast.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: And that is why I bought it last night.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: And you know me, because I'm just like, I was thinking, I was like, there are so many things that I a one-time meal, a little two movie tickets, this is this, that I don't use that money for that mop on.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying it is a monumental moment in my life that I bought the O-Cedar mop.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: It is like the cream of the crap crop.
- 5:38SPEAKER_07: Cream of the crap.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Cream of the crap.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: So I I love this mop so much.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: I have not even used it yet, but I wanted to showcase and show you guys that I really pulled the trigger and bought it.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:49SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I love that.
- 5:50SPEAKER_07: Um, no, Lauren texts me, she goes, I have the Ryote for tomorrow.
- 5:54SPEAKER_07: And I was like, Okay, like you bring it.
- 5:56SPEAKER_07: Lo and beho, which I found out is not a person, by the way.
- 5:59SPEAKER_07: Yes, I thought low and beho was a human.
- 6:01SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 6:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 6:03SPEAKER_07: Lo and behold, apparently, is the phrase.
- 6:05SPEAKER_07: Um she brings out this mop in a box with like tape on it.
- 6:10SPEAKER_07: Like it's like not like unused.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, but then you follow up by saying, like, how do I get this open?
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: I'm like, open up the other side of the tape box.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: He's he's like, I can't get this open.
- 6:19SPEAKER_07: Let me explain why I said that.
- 6:21SPEAKER_07: I thought this is a mop that you have, let alone like the Ryote is like something that you use.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Why would I bring a dirty mop to be my Ryote?
- 6:28SPEAKER_07: Why would you bring a mop, period?
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Because it was a bigger step for me.
- 6:31SPEAKER_07: Okay, so I think regardless of whether it was clean or dirty, I don't know if it would have stopped you.
- 6:35SPEAKER_07: I'm okay with the mop.
- 6:37SPEAKER_07: I'm just saying I wouldn't have put it past you.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, I would yes.
- 6:39SPEAKER_07: But what I'm saying is, is I thought it came from home, especially considering it's 7:30 a.m.
- 6:44SPEAKER_07: Like I thought you just brought it from home and there was still tape on it.
- 6:48SPEAKER_07: So I thought, oh, maybe like she keeps it in the box.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:51SPEAKER_07: So like there's a way that she like takes it out while like when people buy it.
- 6:55SPEAKER_07: It's like when people buy shoes and they like keep the shoebox.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Do you do that?
- 6:58SPEAKER_07: Uh if it's super expensive shoes, sometimes, yes, because if you want to resell them, you can only resell them if you have the original box.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: There's a that just reminds me of a gift card you have to the mall, and every time we go, and you never find something in that store.
- 7:13SPEAKER_07: I have a gift card to a store.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: There's some luxury stores.
- 7:16SPEAKER_07: And for some reason, I just like can never find something, and I've had it for like five five or six years.
- 7:20SPEAKER_07: That's a gift card.
- 7:21SPEAKER_07: And I will use that gift card one day.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:23SPEAKER_07: I will.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: When the hundred when when the t-shirts are a hundred dollars and you have fifty dollars to spend, it gets kind of limited.
- 7:30SPEAKER_07: Well, I like it because it's like it's just fifty dollars off an expensive item, which I like.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:34SPEAKER_07: But I just haven't found something that I loved yet, and I want to use, I want to use it on something I like.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: But I don't really, yeah, I just don't like expensive items.
- 7:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
- 7:43SPEAKER_07: But anyway, so that's the no, that's the Ryote.
- 7:47SPEAKER_07: Um, I went to Nashville this week.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: How was that?
- 7:49SPEAKER_07: Super fun.
- 7:51SPEAKER_07: Um, recorded some music.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: Awesome.
- 7:53SPEAKER_07: Um, saw some people.
- 7:55SPEAKER_07: Nashville is so interesting.
- 7:57SPEAKER_07: It's such a like, there's like a trope of people in Nashville.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: Like what is what's like the average Nashville person?
- 8:04SPEAKER_07: I don't, I mean, it it really is like a stereotype.
- 8:07SPEAKER_07: Like everyone is wearing boots and like a cowboy hat.
- 8:09SPEAKER_07: Like there is a booty.
- 8:10SPEAKER_07: There's a boot scoot and boogie spirit.
- 8:12SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 8:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah, but it's like in a cool way.
- 8:14SPEAKER_07: Like, not everyone is necessarily riding a bowl.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: How can you make it cool?
- 8:18SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 8:19SPEAKER_07: No, I'm just wondering because I just look at the camera and apologize to the cowboy community.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm not talking to the cowboy community.
- 8:25SPEAKER_07: But you said, how can you make that cool?
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: Well, just like cooler than it already is.
- 8:29SPEAKER_07: Nice save.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: That wasn't a save, but I'm just saying of like, no.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: I genuinely, I just love the Oklahoma cowboy culture and the rodeo culture, all of that.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, how can you make it cooler?
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: Like, do you put a bedazzle gun on it?
- 8:41SPEAKER_07: I just think they make it less like um, like, oh, I'm a cow.
- 8:44SPEAKER_07: It's like inquired, it's like incorporated into everything.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:48SPEAKER_07: Like it's not like a such a statement because everyone is that.
- 8:51SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 8:51SPEAKER_07: Like you're gonna wear cowboy boots.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: Do they wear their miss me jeans, like their little rank, like their jeans?
- 8:55SPEAKER_07: I don't know the brands.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:57SPEAKER_07: But um, but no, it was cool.
- 8:58SPEAKER_07: I love Nashville's like really cool.
- 9:00SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 9:00SPEAKER_07: Um, something super weird happened to me.
- 9:03SPEAKER_07: I feel like again, I just feel like everyone in the world made a group chat, and they're like, let's just like put like like make Dom have weird encounters.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: What happened?
- 9:13SPEAKER_07: So I was at the Ross, the Ross dressed for less.
- 9:17SPEAKER_07: This was in Tulsa, not Nashville.
- 9:19SPEAKER_07: I'm just I'm segueing.
- 9:20SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 9:21SPEAKER_07: And I was in the bathroom, and I'm washing my hands, and this guy was in the bathroom and walks up to have a conversation with me while I'm washing my hands.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:34SPEAKER_07: And he goes, hey.
- 9:36SPEAKER_07: And I go, hey.
- 9:40SPEAKER_07: And he goes, um, I know it's probably a lot to see me right now.
- 9:45SPEAKER_07: And I go, Oh my gosh.
- 9:46SPEAKER_07: And I go, Yeah, I mean it's tough.
- 9:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 9:52SPEAKER_07: I go, okay.
- 9:53SPEAKER_07: And he goes, Well, I just, you know, I wanted to say I'm sorry.
- 9:58SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, I forgive you.
- 10:02SPEAKER_07: Like, I I I was just like, thank you.
- 10:05SPEAKER_07: Oh my gosh.
- 10:06SPEAKER_07: I have no idea who this person is.
- 10:08SPEAKER_07: So I go, I I go, thank you.
- 10:10SPEAKER_07: Thank you for that.
- 10:11SPEAKER_07: In my mind immediately, I just clocked, I was like, this person needs this more than me.
- 10:14SPEAKER_07: No, exactly.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: They have something on there to trust.
- 10:16SPEAKER_07: But the thing is, when you go into it so aggressively, it's like you didn't even give me a really a chance to say, hey, I think you have the wrong guy.
- 10:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 10:22SPEAKER_07: So I was just like, thank you.
- 10:23SPEAKER_07: And he goes, That's it.
- 10:25SPEAKER_07: And I was like, um.
- 10:27SPEAKER_07: So then I go, I do think that you are confusing me with somebody.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: No, I'm not.
- 10:33SPEAKER_07: And he goes, You kidding me?
- 10:36SPEAKER_07: Seriously.
- 10:38SPEAKER_07: You're gonna act like you don't even know me now.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 10:41SPEAKER_07: And I literally was like, I am sorry.
- 10:45SPEAKER_07: Like, I he was like, wow, wow.
- 10:47SPEAKER_07: And he goes, I know that you know it took a lot, he goes, you know it took a lot for me to apologize.
- 10:51SPEAKER_07: Oh my and I literally was like, Whoa, I am at the Ross dress for less.
- 10:56SPEAKER_07: I am at the Ross dress for less.
- 10:59SPEAKER_07: I just, I just shift, I just sifted through racks on racks of shirts that say Polaroid.
- 11:07SPEAKER_07: Like I, like, you know what I mean?
- 11:10SPEAKER_07: Like, I just sifted through jeans so many echo echo unlimited shirts.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Found pants you liked, and there's like a tweety bird.
- 11:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:18SPEAKER_07: Found pants I liked, turned it around, sewed in horse.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:22SPEAKER_07: Like, I like that's where I'm at right now.
- 11:24SPEAKER_07: I'm at the Ross dress for less.
- 11:25SPEAKER_07: It smells like Clorox in here.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 11:28SPEAKER_07: And he's I know you just use that bathroom.
- 11:30SPEAKER_07: And he, hey, there's something about a Ross dress for less that makes me have to go to the bathroom.
- 11:34SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 11:35SPEAKER_07: Ross and Lowe's.
- 11:36SPEAKER_07: I reminded me.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: That happens everywhere.
- 11:40SPEAKER_07: And um, and then he walks out.
- 11:43SPEAKER_07: And I literally was like, wow.
- 11:46SPEAKER_07: So I walk out of the bathroom not that much later, and he's gone.
- 11:50SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, did this person exist?
- 11:53SPEAKER_07: Like you thought that you was this a monitoring spirit?
- 11:56SPEAKER_07: Like, I like I was just like, who was that?
- 11:58SPEAKER_07: Who what was that?
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: You should I would have been convicted.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: I would have checked back at the cameras.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: I guess you can't do it unless you're like robbed, but I met my guardian angel once.
- 12:06SPEAKER_07: Did I ever tell you that?
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: No.
- 12:08SPEAKER_07: Okay, so I believe that you can meet your guardian angel and they show up as kind of like people and then they kind of just deposit something in you and they disappear.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 12:15SPEAKER_07: So I had to get a passport really last minute in 2020.
- 12:18SPEAKER_07: This was before like COVID hit.
- 12:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 12:19SPEAKER_07: I think there was like rumors of COVID possibly being a thing, but like nothing was shut down.
- 12:24SPEAKER_07: It was like not a thing yet.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:25SPEAKER_07: And um like February-ish.
- 12:28SPEAKER_07: It was like the first week of March.
- 12:30SPEAKER_07: I think the world shut down like March 16th or 14th.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah.
- 12:33SPEAKER_07: And um, me and my friend had a trip booked to go to Ibiza.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 12:38SPEAKER_07: And we were gonna go to Ibiza.
- 12:39SPEAKER_07: But then we heard that though that like they were gonna possibly cut off like travel to other countries.
- 12:44SPEAKER_07: So we last minute changed our trip to go to um Punta Mita, Mexico, because our friends lived there.
- 12:51SPEAKER_07: Oh, gosh.
- 12:51SPEAKER_07: So we were gonna go and just like literally just stay at their house.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:54SPEAKER_07: And I didn't have a passport, and I literally had like three days to get a passport.
- 12:59SPEAKER_07: So I went all the way to Dallas to get a passport.
- 13:03SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 13:04SPEAKER_07: I'm in the line, and no one's with me.
- 13:07SPEAKER_07: I'm literally alone.
- 13:09SPEAKER_07: And there's this woman in front of me, and she had been in front of me in line for hours.
- 13:17SPEAKER_07: Like hours and because there was like an expedite line.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:20SPEAKER_07: And there was, I don't know, I think maybe, I don't know why, but there was just like the line was hours, okay?
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 13:25SPEAKER_07: I had no one with me, so I was not communicating to anyone about like the situation, like why I was needing a passport, anything.
- 13:33SPEAKER_07: And about three hours in, she just randomly turns to me and she says, When has worry ever changed the outcome?
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 13:46SPEAKER_07: I I literally, I was like, I was like and I and I looked at her and I go, You're so right.
- 13:53SPEAKER_07: And then she walks out of line.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: And you took her spot.
- 13:57unknown: Yeah.
- 13:57SPEAKER_07: But she just left.
- 13:58SPEAKER_07: Why was she waiting in front of me for out for three hours?
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 14:02SPEAKER_07: And I was like, I feel like that was my guardian angel.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: No, absolutely.
- 14:05SPEAKER_07: She looks like Queen Latifah.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 14:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 14:08SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 14:09SPEAKER_07: It was I want to meet mine.
- 14:10SPEAKER_07: It was like exactly what I wanted my guardian angel to look like.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: Can we switch?
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: What is yours?
- 14:14SPEAKER_07: I feel like yours probably works at the neighborhood Walmart.
- 14:18SPEAKER_07: I know your guardian angel works at the next one.
- 14:20SPEAKER_07: But I want to switch.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: If it looks like Queen Latifah, I want to switch.
- 14:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 14:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 14:26SPEAKER_07: I love a guardian angel.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Me too.
- 14:28SPEAKER_07: One time.
- 14:29SPEAKER_07: Sorry, not to be story guy.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: No, I love story guy.
- 14:32SPEAKER_07: I was sitting in my car, and this is about guardian angels.
- 14:35SPEAKER_07: So I was sitting in my car, and this is when I was working at like so you have two.
- 14:40SPEAKER_07: Well, this one's not actually my guardian angels.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 14:42SPEAKER_07: So I know.
- 14:45SPEAKER_07: Um, I'm taking all of them.
- 14:47SPEAKER_07: Um, I was sitting in my car, and because I love sitting in my car eating lunch, watching a show on my screen.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 14:53SPEAKER_07: And this woman that I know kind of, like I met I met her maybe once in passing.
- 14:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 14:58SPEAKER_07: She knocks on my window and I rolled it down and she goes, Are you in your word?
- 15:04SPEAKER_07: As like the Bible.
- 15:06SPEAKER_07: And I go, I could probably be doing better.
- 15:10SPEAKER_07: And she goes, How do you ever expect to hear from the Lord if you are not reading his voice?
- 15:16SPEAKER_07: And then she just got in her car.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 15:18SPEAKER_07: And I was like, oh, whoa.
- 15:20SPEAKER_07: But the issue is, is I did not know that she got in her car and her window was down.
- 15:28SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 15:28SPEAKER_07: So I thought she got in her car.
- 15:30SPEAKER_07: I hear her window, I heard her door close, and I think that her her window's up.
- 15:34SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:35SPEAKER_07: So I just said out loud to myself, I don't know why.
- 15:37SPEAKER_07: I go, period.
- 15:37SPEAKER_07: All right, guardian angel mommy.
- 15:39SPEAKER_07: I don't know why that's what I said.
- 15:41SPEAKER_07: Period, guardian angel mommy.
- 15:42SPEAKER_07: Her window was down too.
- 15:44SPEAKER_07: She goes, excuse me?
- 15:45SPEAKER_07: And I go, um, thank you.
- 15:51SPEAKER_07: And then she was like, and then just drove away.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: And she looked you, she said, never mind.
- 15:55SPEAKER_07: No, she's like, he's clearly not on his word.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: No, exactly.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: You're just like, I'll try to try again later.
- 16:00SPEAKER_07: But anyway, she also kind of, yeah, she she looked like a version of Queen Latifa.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 16:05SPEAKER_07: But I can give you one.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 16:07SPEAKER_07: Um, but anyway.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: Um give me one.
- 16:11SPEAKER_07: One of my guardian angels.
- 16:12SPEAKER_07: I love that.
- 16:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah, well, I'll send, I'll text the group chat.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, please do.
- 16:15SPEAKER_07: Um, should we get into our truth serums?
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: I would love to.
- 16:18SPEAKER_07: Okay, so our truth serums are just things that we want to get off our chest.
- 16:21SPEAKER_07: It can be really about anything.
- 16:22SPEAKER_07: You start.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 16:24SPEAKER_07: I've just been talking a lot.
- 16:25SPEAKER_07: I've said like 10 anecdotes.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: No, you're okay.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 16:28SPEAKER_07: No, I know that I'm okay.
- 16:29SPEAKER_07: I just think you should go first.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Okay, perfect.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: So my truth serum is are you actually overstimulated?
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: That is my question.
- 16:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:41SPEAKER_07: Question we need to ask.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a question we need to ask.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like certain things become trends, okay.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: And for me, being a neurodivergent person, like being overstimulated is in my well within my wheelhouse, okay?
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: And I feel like over the last year, correct me if I'm wrong, maybe the last year or two, I feel like I've heard almost every single person say that they're overstimulated and then say that they also need to exit a room after entering for like 30 seconds.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Does it make sense?
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: And so for me, I'm one of those people that it's just like being overstimulated is real, especially with, you know, Dom for moms movement.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Like I'm very pro-Moms working all day, like taking care of the kids, doing all of this, and then like people are talking to you, and the kids are trying to um get your attention, you're talking, and that is a very overstimulating experience.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Um, other people who are special needs can get overstimulated in public and like to loud noises and things.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: I understand that completely.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: What I'm talking about is using the that you are overstimulated as an excuse to not show up for people, an excuse to or like the girl that like looks at the menu at the restaurant.
- 17:53SPEAKER_07: Like, oh my god, I'm overstimulated.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: I'm over, it's just too many.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: I was overstimulated.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: All right, right.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: But I think just genuinely, we just need to check ourselves and make sure that we are not using this new overstimulated movement to get out of our obligations and not push ourselves and be inconvenienced every once in a while.
- 18:14SPEAKER_07: And it also waters down the people who actually have chemical imbalances that cause them to be overstimulated.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 18:20SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Just like everyone and their dog being like, oh my gosh, I have autism.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: Oh, a little bit of tism, a little bit, you know what I'm saying?
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Everyone in the world, autism is now one of those main things.
- 18:31SPEAKER_07: And it's like therapy lingo.
- 18:33SPEAKER_07: Like now everything is gaslighting.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 18:35SPEAKER_07: Now everything is like I don't know.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: We didn't have another.
- 18:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah, like that's just the main one.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I'm just saying of people, they use things out of context all the time.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: And I'm just like, it really does take away people who are actually like in those things.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh, do you actually are you actually autistic?
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Or are you just like, oh, I'm autistic.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Because people wanted to end the R word and then bring that.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 18:58SPEAKER_07: Oh my god, the R word.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:00SPEAKER_07: Don't.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: You're actually not gonna say it.
- 19:03SPEAKER_07: I'm like, Lauren.
- 19:04SPEAKER_07: Don't please don't.
- 19:06SPEAKER_07: Not here.
- 19:06SPEAKER_07: I'm just kidding.
- 19:06SPEAKER_07: No, you don't say that.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: No.
- 19:08SPEAKER_07: Um, no, I'm totally with you.
- 19:10SPEAKER_07: I also think, too, like the the I'm so overstimulated thing from somebody who doesn't actually have like a neurodivergency.
- 19:16SPEAKER_07: Is that a word?
- 19:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 19:18SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 19:19SPEAKER_07: Um, it just falls into like um just low-hanging fruit humor.
- 19:27SPEAKER_07: It's like, it's like, oh, you would be such good friends with this girl.
- 19:29SPEAKER_07: She's so funny.
- 19:30SPEAKER_07: And then you meet her and she's just like the type of girl that says she's overstimulated.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: She's like, ah, I'm overstimulated.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: Ha ha ha.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, I get so offended.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: One time someone literally said they were like, You would love this girl so much.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: I met her.
- 19:42SPEAKER_07: Also, can we just stop saying that?
- 19:44SPEAKER_07: Stop saying that you like think that we're that you're stop going up to people and saying, You would get along with my friend.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: And when I meet your friend, I'm gonna hate them.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Because like they're yeah.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: So this girl, I met this girl and she was like, She was like, Oh my god, you love her, blah, blah, blah.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: And so I finally met her.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: And her friend had the use of bad curse, and I'm excited for one day.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: We're gonna dive into bad curse.
- 20:05SPEAKER_07: We have to fully dive into bad curse at some point.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: Bad curse is low-hanging fruit humor.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: When everything, every other word is the F-word, you don't have perfectly timed that.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Like it's literally like hate that.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: When they're like Absome mother, absolutely, you know what I'm saying?
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: Like things like that.
- 20:21SPEAKER_07: And it's like, oh, you like you like thought about your sentence and you tried to place a curse word in it.
- 20:26SPEAKER_07: And that's where you landed.
- 20:27SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 20:27SPEAKER_07: And it landed on bad soil.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: And so all that to say, yes, never, yeah.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Period.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I'm just wrapping up my sentence.
- 20:35SPEAKER_07: And period my.
- 20:40SPEAKER_07: So okay, mine is a little niche, but it's really just because I want to talk about it.
- 20:45SPEAKER_07: Um, and it's my podcast.
- 20:47SPEAKER_07: Um, so my truth serum is this I hate when people performatively speak to themselves or the people that they are with, so that the people around them hear them and think they are funny.
- 20:59SPEAKER_07: Did I explain that well enough?
- 21:01SPEAKER_07: Does that make sense?
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: I get performer, like one that's like maybe some anecdotes can help.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:08SPEAKER_07: There are times where I'm watching somebody communicate to their friend, and I'm like, you are trying to communicate to your friend loudly so that I hear you and laugh.
- 21:19SPEAKER_07: So that I hear what you're saying.
- 21:21SPEAKER_07: And this is sometimes it's people I know, it's people I don't know.
- 21:24SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: So when they when they check back to see if you laugh, and I'm like, I it breaks their neck.
- 21:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, no, and I'm like, I don't I'm like, just turn around, baby.
- 21:33SPEAKER_07: No, just have a conversation.
- 21:34SPEAKER_07: Stop doing this for me.
- 21:34SPEAKER_07: I did not buy a ticket.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 21:36SPEAKER_07: I'm not watching your show.
- 21:37SPEAKER_07: And this happened most recently on my flight back to Nash from Nashville yesterday.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Uh huh.
- 21:42SPEAKER_07: So I got sat next to a bruh girl.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 21:46SPEAKER_07: And like a br how would you explain a brah girl?
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: A brah girl is I don't know.
- 21:52SPEAKER_07: Girls that say bruh, like at the end of the day.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: At the end of the day.
- 21:56SPEAKER_07: Like, and she was like, she was the friend that.
- 22:00SPEAKER_07: Like tells it how it is.
- 22:01SPEAKER_07: The one a yo girl.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: A yo girl.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: I the old bro girl is the new yo girl.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: The ones that's like, oh.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: And the movie Um Devil Wars Prada 2, when uh Ann Hathaway goes, Yo.
- 22:13SPEAKER_07: Hate.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: Hate.
- 22:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 22:15SPEAKER_07: Hit me with a bronco.
- 22:16SPEAKER_07: Hit me with a bronco.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Please.
- 22:18SPEAKER_07: And she was just like the friend that tells it how it is.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:21SPEAKER_07: Like, and I hate a friend that tells it how it is.
- 22:24SPEAKER_07: Me too.
- 22:24SPEAKER_07: Like, I'm just like, like the people that are like, I'm just so honest.
- 22:29SPEAKER_07: Like, I just sorry, I just have no filter.
- 22:31SPEAKER_07: Like, oh my god, I have no filter.
- 22:33SPEAKER_07: And it's like, you have not said anything that like boundary crossing.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 22:36SPEAKER_07: Anyway, so we're sitting, and she already like two white girls, by the way.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 22:42SPEAKER_07: And I want to say that because when I impersonate her, I want to clarify that I am impersonating a white girl that is talking like that is speaking like this.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 22:50SPEAKER_07: So they're walking onto the flight, and every row she passes.
- 22:55SPEAKER_07: I'm already sat, every row she passes, she's saying that my seat.
- 23:01SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 23:02SPEAKER_07: Not mine.
- 23:03SPEAKER_07: Keep in mind, she was in row 26.
- 23:04SPEAKER_07: She was singing that at row 10.
- 23:06SPEAKER_07: You know that was not your row.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: 16 more rows of banter.
- 23:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 23:09SPEAKER_07: No, she she came out of the womb with a banter.
- 23:12SPEAKER_07: She came out of the womb with a banter.
- 23:14SPEAKER_07: She was trying to make her parents laugh when she came out of the womb.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: A court jester.
- 23:18SPEAKER_07: A class clown spirit.
- 23:21SPEAKER_07: I hate a class clown spirit.
- 23:22SPEAKER_07: Like I hate a class clown.
- 23:24SPEAKER_07: So anyway, so she has all this banter, whatever, and she's like, um, then she like sat in the wrong seat.
- 23:30SPEAKER_07: She goes, Oh, me when I'm stupid.
- 23:32SPEAKER_07: And I look, I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 23:34SPEAKER_07: Like it's too much.
- 23:35SPEAKER_07: So then she sits down.
- 23:36SPEAKER_07: Oh no.
- 23:37SPEAKER_07: And the whole flight, she keeps her friend is sitting behind her.
- 23:40SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 23:41SPEAKER_07: So the whole flight, she kept going, and like saying something funny to her friend.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: And and was her friend laughing?
- 23:47SPEAKER_07: And she was cursing so much.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 23:50SPEAKER_07: She was cursing so much.
- 23:51SPEAKER_07: And and like in a bad curse way.
- 23:53SPEAKER_07: Not like sometimes cursing can really just like flow like from the soul.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:57SPEAKER_07: And hers was not.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:59SPEAKER_07: Anyway, she said something that really was very on top for me.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 24:05SPEAKER_07: And also, this is a family-friendly podcast.
- 24:07SPEAKER_07: I'm not about to say something like that inappropriate, but it's like maybe a little inappropriate.
- 24:10SPEAKER_07: So if you're listening with kids that you don't want them to hear something that's like kind of inappropriate, just like skip this part.
- 24:17SPEAKER_07: But so we land, the plane lands, okay?
- 24:21SPEAKER_07: Yeah Oh no, first let me actually let me set this up.
- 24:23SPEAKER_07: So I'm in the window.
- 24:24SPEAKER_07: She's in the aisle.
- 24:25SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 24:25SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 24:26SPEAKER_07: I open the window and it's Tulsa.
- 24:28SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 24:28SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 24:29SPEAKER_07: And she goes, dang, Oklahoma's flat.
- 24:33SPEAKER_07: When I land where I where I when I when I land where I live, mountains everywhere.
- 24:39SPEAKER_07: It's like you're landing in the middle of Mount Everest.
- 24:43SPEAKER_07: I literally am looking at her like this.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Like shot in the city.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:48SPEAKER_07: So anyway, then the plane lands.
- 24:50SPEAKER_07: The plane lands on the ground, okay?
- 24:52SPEAKER_07: The plane lands.
- 24:53SPEAKER_07: I hate her so much.
- 24:54SPEAKER_07: She goes.
- 24:59SPEAKER_06: She goes.
- 25:01SPEAKER_06: Sorry.
- 25:02SPEAKER_06: She goes she goes, the coochie has landed.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: How old is this woman?
- 25:14SPEAKER_06: She's probably like twenty-four.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 25:18SPEAKER_06: Literally was like.
- 25:23SPEAKER_06: It's not over.
- 25:24SPEAKER_06: She got you guys.
- 25:24SPEAKER_06: It's not over.
- 25:26SPEAKER_06: She goes.
- 25:28SPEAKER_06: And this coach you full.
- 25:30SPEAKER_06: I gotta pay.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: I I I literally was Did you give her a laugh?
- 25:45SPEAKER_07: No, I literally like there's kids around.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: I was like kids.
- 25:51SPEAKER_07: She has to go to pro jail.
- 25:53SPEAKER_07: No, she's like, she has to like there should be.
- 25:56SPEAKER_07: There should be police waiting for her at the gate.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: No, please.
- 26:01SPEAKER_07: Like ready to take her to jail.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, zip tie restraints.
- 26:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 26:05SPEAKER_07: Like I would like, yeah.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: I hate this woman.
- 26:08SPEAKER_07: From beginning to end, I I never and the thing is she doesn't she she was coming to visit Tulsa, but she does not live here.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: So did you gather where she's from?
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: So where is like when you land, it's like Mount Everest?
- 26:19SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 26:20SPEAKER_07: My mind goes to like Utah or something.
- 26:21SPEAKER_07: I I don't know how I don't care where her origin is.
- 26:24SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 26:24SPEAKER_07: But like I but anyway, it just it overcompasses the idea of like stop performatively speaking for others to hear.
- 26:34SPEAKER_07: Oh, please.
- 26:35SPEAKER_07: Like I everything she was doing was for me to hear her.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: And the thing is, is like the way we work, unfortunately, this is like it's really so sad.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: But like when we can tell someone is like trying to impress us and be funny and you're getting nothing from us.
- 26:49SPEAKER_07: Unfortunately, here's the thing.
- 26:50SPEAKER_07: She could have been I can't fake laugh.
- 26:52SPEAKER_07: It could have been hitter after hitter, hitting the ball out of the park.
- 26:54SPEAKER_07: She is hilarious.
- 26:55SPEAKER_07: I'm giving you zero.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: So and unfortunately, I would like crack and like have a couple, I would laugh at the fact that she's trying to perform for me.
- 27:05SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: And yeah, and then if I just didn't fuel her.
- 27:09SPEAKER_07: I will never fuel someone.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: But she kept going.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: She didn't need your fuel.
- 27:13SPEAKER_07: Oh, she didn't need no, she is flying her own plane.
- 27:16SPEAKER_07: Solar operated.
- 27:17SPEAKER_07: Yes, she is.
- 27:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 27:18SPEAKER_07: So anyway.
- 27:22SPEAKER_07: Oh, just side comment for the plane.
- 27:24SPEAKER_07: So you know how my favorite game is Epic Plane?
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:27SPEAKER_07: Not smart to play on a plane when you have flight anxiety.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: Are you serious?
- 27:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, because the planes like crash every time.
- 27:31SPEAKER_07: And I was like, I'm gonna stop playing this game.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: Yes, but you're in a jello bubble.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: Like when you're, you know what?
- 27:36SPEAKER_07: No, my flight anxiety has gotten a lot better.
- 27:37SPEAKER_07: Like I sat in the window.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, really?
- 27:39SPEAKER_07: I sat in the window on that one.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Well, don't get used to it, Hoy.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: That's my season.
- 27:43SPEAKER_07: No, I don't want it.
- 27:44SPEAKER_07: I genuinely don't want it.
- 27:45SPEAKER_07: But I'm just I'm taking more steps to like to like being comfortable on a plane no matter what.
- 27:51SPEAKER_07: Yes, fighting out overstimulation.
- 27:55SPEAKER_07: No.
- 27:55SPEAKER_07: I think not like just being comfortable on a plane when it's set up how I want it.
- 27:59SPEAKER_07: Like I want to just be comfortable on a plane no matter what.
- 28:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 28:02SPEAKER_07: So I'm taking more steps.
- 28:03SPEAKER_02: Well, I love that.
- 28:04SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 28:05SPEAKER_07: Well, the coochie has landed.
- 28:07SPEAKER_07: Um and title.
- 28:09SPEAKER_07: Oh, oh my gosh.
- 28:10SPEAKER_07: Um, I feel like that's not that inappropriate, right?
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: It is inappropriate.
- 28:13SPEAKER_07: Oh, really?
- 28:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 28:14SPEAKER_07: Sorry, it's inappropriate for her to say.
- 28:16SPEAKER_07: I'm saying I feel like it's not that inappropriate right now that I'm talking about that, right?
- 28:19SPEAKER_07: No.
- 28:19SPEAKER_07: That's what I'm saying.
- 28:20SPEAKER_07: No.
- 28:20SPEAKER_07: No, it's inappropriate what she said.
- 28:22SPEAKER_07: I'm saying I haven't just said something that's like that inappropriate, correct?
- 28:25SPEAKER_07: No.
- 28:25SPEAKER_07: Because I want to clip that and post it.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:27SPEAKER_07: But I don't want people to be like, oh my god, he left his job at the church.
- 28:31SPEAKER_07: Now he's saying coochie has landed.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: No, then just post a worship cover.
- 28:34SPEAKER_07: So true.
- 28:35SPEAKER_07: That's why.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: A pulse check.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: That is.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: I still love the Lord.
- 28:42SPEAKER_07: No, literally.
- 28:43SPEAKER_07: And I do.
- 28:44SPEAKER_07: People just can't.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: You have a podcast with a mic bay.
- 28:50SPEAKER_07: Actually, I'll get into this when I get into my first story, actually.
- 28:52SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 28:52SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna give a little, a little pre a pre, a pre, a pre.
- 28:58SPEAKER_07: A pre.
- 28:58SPEAKER_07: I love that.
- 28:58SPEAKER_07: All right, let's get into our weekly dose, which is when Lauren and I bring two pop culture headlines that mean something to each of us.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 29:05SPEAKER_07: And Lauren's gonna go first.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Last week, Dom inspired me because he was just like, he's like, I shared about Lori Laughlin.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: And at the end of the day, I don't, I didn't really care about that story.
- 29:14SPEAKER_07: Nor have I thought about it once since.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Not a real thing.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: It wasn't really impactful.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: So I have one that actually resonates.
- 29:21SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I want like I think what's nice about this podcast is you and I are very different about a lot of things and a lot of interests.
- 29:29SPEAKER_07: And oh, which makes me want to give a little teaser.
- 29:35SPEAKER_07: We're not gonna say what we're doing for Halloween this year, but just know that it'll be a truth serum thing that for the Halloween episode, we will be coming in costumes.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 29:44SPEAKER_07: And we know what we're doing this year.
- 29:45SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 29:45SPEAKER_07: That's all I'm gonna say.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Yes, I'm already planning.
- 29:48SPEAKER_07: Um, same.
- 29:49SPEAKER_07: Um, I had a consultation.
- 29:52SPEAKER_07: Um but um we are very different, and it's like at the end of the day, like if like the I remember the first episode, I think you brought like you brought in like the banana prices.
- 29:59SPEAKER_07: Yeah, if that's something that means something to you, that's great.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Yes, thank you, because I'm bringing that back.
- 30:04SPEAKER_07: But then I'm like, I will talk about like like the like basic thing that everyone's talking about on TikTok.
- 30:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:09SPEAKER_07: But that's just like how I am.
- 30:10SPEAKER_07: Okay, anyway, all right, go.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: Okay, Scooby-Doo celebrates 57th birthday with simple plan.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, you know what's funny about this?
- 30:21SPEAKER_06: I understand you know what I said it.
- 30:23SPEAKER_06: I said you can talk about what you want.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: That and that's the thing about it.
- 30:26SPEAKER_06: Scooby-Doo?
- 30:27SPEAKER_04: He sets me with a simple plan.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: He sets me up so poorly because he just went on this long monologue of being like, I accept you for who you are.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: You're special.
- 30:37SPEAKER_07: Until I don't.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: Yes, until you don't.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Why do you get to flip the switch of what's important to me?
- 30:42SPEAKER_07: Go ahead, talk about Scooby-Doo.
- 30:43SPEAKER_07: What did he do?
- 30:44SPEAKER_07: No, and I What did Scooby-Doo do?
- 30:46SPEAKER_07: Did he get a new bone?
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: No, he didn't.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:48SPEAKER_07: Anyway, he solved the new crime.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 30:50SPEAKER_07: I've never seen Scooby-Doo.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: So with simple plan, and I just think that was so random because uh the reason I'm talking about it is that they were all in the room.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: They're like, how do we celebrate Scooby-Doo's 57th birthday?
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: Let's bring simple plan from the early 2000s, and they celebrated together.
- 31:08SPEAKER_07: Oh, I thought you were saying I thought they were just encapsulating what he did for his birthday as a simple plan.
- 31:13SPEAKER_07: Like he didn't go extravagant, like he just had a simple plan.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: A little birthday dinner, went home.
- 31:18SPEAKER_07: Are you saying the movie a simple plan?
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: No, the band's simple plan.
- 31:23SPEAKER_07: Oh, I have no idea what this is.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: I think they're bowling a s bowling for soup adjacent.
- 31:27SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: But anyway, simple plan.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: Um, I love them because in the movie Um New York Minute, they are the band, like with Mary Kate and Ashley, they are the band that they're going to see.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: And the one that they're crowd surfing for, and like with Mary Kate and Ashley go into that salon in like Queens and then get like Afros.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: Um, they're like culture.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: Wait, remember that scene?
- 31:52SPEAKER_07: Oh my god, that was amazing.
- 31:54SPEAKER_07: I love that.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: That's literally, yeah, that did a lot.
- 31:57SPEAKER_07: You're like, I feel seen.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: That did like MLK numbers.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 32:01SPEAKER_00: Um, but anyway, Malcolm X numbers.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: Anyways.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: But yeah, that was a fake story because I wanted to bait you.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: I wanted to see.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: I wanted, I just know you so well.
- 32:12SPEAKER_04: I fell into the trap.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 32:14SPEAKER_04: I yeah.
- 32:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was a fake story.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: Well, that is a real story, but that's not my okay.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Here's my first story.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: Jesse Draper went on the Trisha Paytas podcast this past week.
- 32:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: And I love Jesse.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: This episode, like I said, my step friend, I love Jesse.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: And I'm I'm a step-your step friend.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Yes, and I need a step-best friend.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: Um, and she needs to send me a package of baby bottle pops.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: I see her push pop ads.
- 32:42SPEAKER_07: Which is so funny because normally people want hair, like hair extensions.
- 32:45SPEAKER_07: You're like, give me the baby bottle pops, love.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: Girl, yeah, not hair like mine.
- 32:50SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: Um, though she can do anything.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: Honestly, she can do anything.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so I would just want to say that I watched that interview and I like I love her even more now.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: I've already loved her and I love her even more now.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: And I think that it's because she went on with Trisha Paytas.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: And Trisha Paytas is one of the greatest interviewers of our time.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: She makes people feel so comfortable.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: Like she went in there and they talked straight for like an hour.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: No, no awkward moments, no anything.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: Like Trisha makes all of her guests feel so comfortable.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: She was asking great questions.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: There was so Ooh, stutter.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: There was so much that Jesse was sharing um that just shed so much light on the situation.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: And the one thing about Jesse, she takes accountability for everything.
- 33:35SPEAKER_07: That is the thing about her that I like scream from the rooftop.
- 33:37SPEAKER_07: There's two things about her that I scream from the rooftops.
- 33:39SPEAKER_07: One is if you knew what she dealt with every single day that she does not talk about, you would have not you personally, the world would have so much more grace for her.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 33:49SPEAKER_07: Two, she literally is not afraid to address anything that she's done.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: Which is so different than literally every celebrity that just wants to look good all the time, and they're like, No, no, no, everyone else is wrong.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: She throughout that entire interview was like, Yeah, the fact that this happened, that was really awful.
- 34:05SPEAKER_07: Like, she's like, I did that was like that was stupid, that was bad, that was the worst decision ever.
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: Shouldn't have done that, all of that.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: Like, she is so likable and amazing.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: And the the feedback from that interview has been nothing but positive.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: People are like, Wow, like Trisha showed me a new side of Jesse, and this is the side that you know, and the side that I get to see.
- 34:24SPEAKER_07: Which I think something that's so funny, and you and I were talking about this last night, so yes, I'm taking words out of your mouth, but I agree, is like Trisha mentioning something along the lines of like considering that Jesse had did call her daddy.
- 34:36SPEAKER_07: Yeah, like she didn't think she could get her.
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:39SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, I Trisha, if you ever hear this, there is a large demographic of people that her being on Trisha Paytas is more impactful than her being on Call Her Daddy.
- 34:53SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 34:53SPEAKER_07: I'm not even saying that as shade against Alex Cooper because Call Her Daddy is clearly very successful.
- 34:58SPEAKER_07: So I'm not saying that, I'm not saying that as a slight to call her daddy or Alex Cooper, even though we are Alex, we love Alex Earl over here.
- 35:05SPEAKER_07: Her being on Trisha Paytas was more impactful to people like us than her being on Call Call Her Daddy.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 35:12SPEAKER_07: Even though I know her personally, so like I wouldn't say it's impactful to me.
- 35:15SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 35:15SPEAKER_07: But like people, I mean it meant a lot to me, but it's like people who don't know her.
- 35:18SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 35:19SPEAKER_07: It is a she's a Trisha Paytas is a powerful medium.
- 35:23SPEAKER_07: She really is.
- 35:23SPEAKER_07: If I have a dream dinner and I get to pick five people, she's there.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 35:27SPEAKER_07: And like I can't wait to watch her and Michelle Obama have a conversation at my dinner.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: And they would have it, and it would flow truly.
- 35:33SPEAKER_07: And it would flow with anyone.
- 35:34SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 35:34SPEAKER_07: Even then watching her go do the Emmys.
- 35:36SPEAKER_07: Like, I just I'm glad that she's getting her flowers.
- 35:38SPEAKER_07: Like and she even said something she was like, because I guess like uh at the Emmys this year, oh my god, let me address this.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 35:48SPEAKER_07: I did a whole entire recap about who won at the Emmys on our last episode.
- 35:51SPEAKER_07: They had not even happened yet.
- 35:53SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 35:54SPEAKER_07: The news medium that I was reading was compl either like fake or it was clearly false.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: We need to, we're going to be making sure we check all of our sources.
- 36:04SPEAKER_07: I literally read this whole article talking about who won at the Emmys, and that's why it was my story last episode.
- 36:08SPEAKER_07: They had not even happened yet.
- 36:09SPEAKER_07: When I saw I saw it from Trisha, when Trisha posted, she goes, uh, doing the Emmys like carpet tonight.
- 36:15SPEAKER_07: I literally was like, I just did an Emmys recap three days ago.
- 36:18SPEAKER_07: What are you talking about?
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: I read a fake article with fake winners.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: I literally did you know there's people that are bored enough to make fake articles with fake winners.
- 36:26SPEAKER_07: I was like, Are you okay?
- 36:27SPEAKER_07: Like, I No, I kind of love them.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: That's turn.
- 36:29SPEAKER_07: Their turn.
- 36:30SPEAKER_07: Their turn.
- 36:30SPEAKER_07: Actually, I love them.
- 36:31SPEAKER_07: But anyway, seeing her do the Emmys, I was just like, She deserves this, and she's so magnetic.
- 36:36SPEAKER_07: I genuinely believe she's like anointed.
- 36:38SPEAKER_07: Like, she is so magnetic.
- 36:39SPEAKER_07: And that's why like people like Jesse and really anyone can go on her pot.
- 36:43SPEAKER_07: She kind of has like her and Jake Chain are not similar, but it's like they both have that thing where they kind of unarm exactly.
- 36:50SPEAKER_07: And like they're not there to get like the juicy thing that will expose you.
- 36:55SPEAKER_07: Not at all.
- 36:56SPEAKER_07: Genuinely just want to have real conversations.
- 36:58SPEAKER_07: And like, I don't, I mean, me and Jesse talked about the how it went like behind the scenes, and obviously she had nothing but positive things to say.
- 37:06SPEAKER_07: So I don't know if Trisha said this, but I can imagine that Trisha's like, if you want to cut anything out of this, like we can't, like just letting you know.
- 37:12SPEAKER_07: Like, so I just I love Trisha so much.
- 37:14SPEAKER_07: And I love Jesse so much.
- 37:16SPEAKER_07: I love her so much.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: And Trisha's genuinely like she's been my favorite for years.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I I'm not about to get deep, but whenever my dad was going through all of that, like you can laugh, but like he was going through um chemo, and like there was like the very early stages.
- 37:32SPEAKER_00: I literally would go to the gym at like gonna cry.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: Um, I would go, oh my gosh, wait, I don't want to cry.
- 37:40SPEAKER_07: Oh, hey, hey, hey, I won't know what to do.
- 37:41SPEAKER_07: I'm just warning on morning on morning on morning.
- 37:43SPEAKER_07: I won't know what to do.
- 37:44SPEAKER_07: I know I just pulled it.
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: I sucked You're allowed to.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: No, no, they're wafted back in.
- 37:49SPEAKER_00: No, I suck them back up.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: Don't worry, join.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: They're up.
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: Anyway, I would go, I would go to the gym at 2 a.m.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Because this was still like in the in uncertain times because I wouldn't know what to do.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: I'd be like, okay, I'm gonna either be up all night or I'll go to the gym and sit in the sauna.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: I like didn't like work out.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: I just did like fun stuff.
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: But I would watch the Frenemies podcast with Trisha.
- 38:11SPEAKER_00: Frenemies was big for a while.
- 38:12SPEAKER_04: It was it was big.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: And Trisha just like, I don't know, she was just my comfort person through all of that.
- 38:18SPEAKER_00: So like I've just loved her.
- 38:19SPEAKER_00: And then like the stuff with Ethan, like he had said he's just like, Well, I'll cut my own arm off if you actually get on SNL.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't think you're gonna accomplish anything.
- 38:28SPEAKER_04: Disgusting.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: And then like she goes on, she's like on SNL, and then I think she's on she got on Jimmy Felon, maybe an interview.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: I'm making that up, maybe.
- 38:37SPEAKER_00: Um, but she's just accomplished everything.
- 38:39SPEAKER_07: I mean, the proofs and the pudding.
- 38:40SPEAKER_07: We're sitting here talking about Trisha Paytas, and like I literally had to remember what that guy's name was.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 38:46SPEAKER_07: Like, I couldn't even remember.
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so and then I also watched the Call Her Daddy um uh interview and just the difference of the vibe with Jesse.
- 38:56SPEAKER_07: Yeah, because Alex Cooper, she's more like a we're getting the story.
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she's there for the story, she's there to ask questions.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Like I said, I'm still not gonna really talk bad about her.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna give her, I don't know how many more months for pregnancy, plus six months.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: We'll give her more another nine months from me.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: But um, but with that, like she's always wanting to dig and like just get something exposing and then also talk about something sexual and me.
- 39:22SPEAKER_00: I don't care about people's personal like sex lives and things like that, and it just grosses me out.
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: I don't like that aspect of it.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: Um, so this was just so much better.
- 39:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 39:31SPEAKER_07: No, I agree.
- 39:32SPEAKER_07: I literally Trisha Paytas is everything.
- 39:35SPEAKER_07: Like she is.
- 39:36SPEAKER_07: There's three people that I there's four people that I have to meet before I pass.
- 39:41SPEAKER_07: And like when I pass, like when I'm literally a hundred years old, so I have a lot of time.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:46SPEAKER_07: One was Dolly Parton, and I'm just sad that never got to happen.
- 39:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah, except one time I got to see her from far away at Dixie Stampede, I'll take it.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:52SPEAKER_07: Two is Joe Jonas.
- 39:53SPEAKER_00: You did get to like share her death, so that's you're connected.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:57SPEAKER_07: Two is Joe Jonas, have to meet him.
- 39:58SPEAKER_07: He's literally the reason I even want to do music.
- 40:00SPEAKER_07: You will.
- 40:01SPEAKER_07: I want to do music.
- 40:02SPEAKER_07: Like, I love him.
- 40:03SPEAKER_07: Um, three is Lady Gaga, four is Trisha Paytas.
- 40:07SPEAKER_07: Like those are my four.
- 40:07SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 40:08SPEAKER_07: That I and Michelle Obama, I would say is five.
- 40:10SPEAKER_07: Oh, Kiki Palmer.
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: Six.
- 40:12SPEAKER_07: Whatever.
- 40:12SPEAKER_07: It's gonna be a big dinner reservation.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 40:14SPEAKER_07: But um you'll meet all of them.
- 40:16SPEAKER_07: But no, I love that she did this podcast.
- 40:18SPEAKER_07: I remember when Jesse told me that she was gonna be doing it, and I literally was like, I couldn't believe it.
- 40:23SPEAKER_07: And I even texted her, I was like, I literally told you if there's any, if there's gonna be anything that I like want to like cling on you for, it's when you do the Trisha Paytas interview.
- 40:32SPEAKER_07: Like, I want to go.
- 40:33SPEAKER_07: And she was like, I completely forgot.
- 40:35SPEAKER_07: So I was like, whatever.
- 40:36SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 40:36SPEAKER_00: Next one.
- 40:37SPEAKER_07: I forgive you, girl.
- 40:38SPEAKER_07: If you ever do Jake Shane, yeah, she will.
- 40:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah, she will.
- 40:43SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 40:44SPEAKER_07: Um, before we go into my next story, I just want to say, yes, this is not a political podcast because I got so much crap.
- 40:51SPEAKER_07: Like the one time I said like a joke about not liking Donald Trump, which I don't like him.
- 40:55SPEAKER_07: Um, but this is like something that is happening in pop culture, and also there are things that it's important to just not be so apolitical on.
- 41:02SPEAKER_07: So we will quickly just like to make it very clear, if you don't know where we stand on the subject, we will say it.
- 41:07SPEAKER_07: But I'm bringing up this like situation because it is a thing in pop culture and we're gonna talk about it.
- 41:13SPEAKER_07: Um, and the reason I say that is because like we see so many politics all day long as we scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll.
- 41:19SPEAKER_07: And it's important to know that the people you support like align with you or like that you're like or that you just know where they stand.
- 41:25SPEAKER_07: But not everything has to be completely like about politics because we see it all the time.
- 41:29SPEAKER_07: So we're not here to be your political commentators, yes, at all.
- 41:33SPEAKER_07: But the headline and the subheadline is um Malcolmore removed from Ed Sheeran US tour after pro-Palestinian remarks.
- 41:40SPEAKER_07: The rapper was dropped from the remaining tour dates after several venues objected to his free Palestine comments at a New Jersey concert, and Sheeran says the decision was made by the tour promoter and venue owners while Malcolmore says he was pressured off of the tour.
- 41:54SPEAKER_07: So I'll just say this like I'm free Palestine, just to get that out there.
- 41:59SPEAKER_07: Okay, like if you're wondering where I stand.
- 42:01SPEAKER_07: Um but um that doesn't negate that I think like there's just like awful things happening on both sides that I hate.
- 42:11SPEAKER_07: Um but anyway, um something that I just think is interesting from this topic is agreed.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 42:17SPEAKER_07: I was like, I was like, girl, jump in.
- 42:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sorry.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: I was just I like to active listen, but I was like, let me yeah.
- 42:23SPEAKER_07: Something the the thing about this situation that I think is just so interesting to me is McLeamore has always been this person.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:30SPEAKER_07: Like, this is not new.
- 42:31SPEAKER_07: No, like, so I'm kind of like, what did you think he was gonna do when you asked him to be an opener on your tour?
- 42:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:38SPEAKER_07: Like I remember like he was dropping things, like I remember, oh my gosh.
- 42:42SPEAKER_07: So I was like raised very conservative.
- 42:45SPEAKER_07: Like, all I knew was being conservative, all I knew was Republican, like the like I remember being 17 years old, and that was like when Donald Trump was like running for president for the first time, and it was like, if you didn't vote for Vol for Donald Trump, like you would literally get beat up in the bathroom.
- 42:58SPEAKER_07: Like that's literally all I knew.
- 42:59SPEAKER_07: Yeah, so saying this out here now, like if there's something that I liked in 2015 that like supported Donald Trump, it was because I would have gotten like grounded like when I got home if I didn't.
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:09SPEAKER_07: Um, but then the second I turned 18 and can develop my own thoughts, like I just like did it, I just decided what I believed for myself.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 43:16SPEAKER_07: Anyway, um, I remember like when that was happening, McLamore would dropped songs called White Privilege and White Privilege 2.
- 43:22SPEAKER_07: And it literally like was the first time that I felt like something like explained to me the idea of like white privilege.
- 43:27SPEAKER_07: Like, so he has been like a political person for a very long time.
- 43:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:32SPEAKER_07: So when you ask him to be the opener on your tour, which I will also say this I don't know what Macklemore and Ed Sharon have anything to do with each other.
- 43:38SPEAKER_07: I don't know why McAllmore's opening for Ed Sharon to begin with.
- 43:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I will say that.
- 43:42SPEAKER_07: That's like so random.
- 43:43SPEAKER_07: It is uh just like music and style wise.
- 43:46SPEAKER_07: But um, I just don't and people are like, well, don't do it on someone else's stage, do it on yours.
- 43:52SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, if you get invited to be the opener for somebody, that is your stage for 30 minutes.
- 43:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:58SPEAKER_07: So you actually are inviting this person to do Whatever they want.
- 44:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:01SPEAKER_07: So I think it's dumb that he got dropped from the tour, but then all the other openers dropped as well.
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: So was it Phineas on that?
- 44:08SPEAKER_07: Phineas.
- 44:08SPEAKER_07: That was the only one that I recognized.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:11SPEAKER_07: But um, yeah.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:13SPEAKER_07: So that happened.
- 44:14SPEAKER_07: And now everyone's like so mad at Ed Sheeran.
- 44:16SPEAKER_07: The one thing that I'm unaware of is like I'm pretty sure that like his tour decided it.
- 44:21SPEAKER_07: I don't know if it was Ed Sheeran, but I'm sure that Ed Sheeran has the power to be like, well, then I'm not doing it.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: I I honestly I might disagree on that.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: And I'm not pro Ed Sheeran.
- 44:29SPEAKER_00: I have not listened to like Shape of You and like since 2000 like one.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: I don't even know.
- 44:34SPEAKER_07: No, I don't I don't listen to Ed Sheeran.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: I like I can't even I couldn't even draw him if you asked me to.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: Um but my thing about it is like sometimes like it was like the Gillette Stadium like CEO and like there's just so many things that like to the public, people are so quick to be like, let's cancel Ed.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: I think he lost like 150,000 followers before the new like I just want to encourage people to at least like wait till you see all elements of something and like see who actually has the power to control different things before you just go on a campaign of being like let's cancel Ed Sheeran and let's now if Ed Sheeran did have anything to do with Malcolmore getting fired from it, whatever, then like fine.
- 45:15SPEAKER_07: Then like cheers.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 45:16SPEAKER_07: But that was something that I was thinking about because I don't know.
- 45:19SPEAKER_07: In my mind, I'm like, I do feel like Ed would have the I don't know, but then there's contracts, there's things, I don't know.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: There's contracts, and I know the thing is is I I know in Malcolmore's contract of being an opener, not I know, whoa, um a lawyer, law boots.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: Um but I feel like in that was just like even like we're gonna be hosting something in the next couple months, and even in there they say like don't talk about anything political, don't talk about that, like they literally have it lined out for us.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it's one of those things that's like I feel like that's in most contracts of to like to not do that.
- 45:52SPEAKER_05: Um don't you think?
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying it should be in there, but I think that that's where the legal grounds come in of like they can be like, well, you sign this, you know what I mean?
- 46:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, because even like because there's things that I've done in the last few months where I'm thinking of the contracts, yeah.
- 46:12SPEAKER_07: But I I do think that something like you're you're having somebody be an opener and they're an artist and they are going on stage to be them.
- 46:20SPEAKER_07: I think I don't see a world, yeah.
- 46:22SPEAKER_07: I don't see a world, I don't know.
- 46:23SPEAKER_07: I couldn't see a world where people are like quieting people's political views in that setting.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, you'd be surprised.
- 46:31SPEAKER_07: Maybe, yeah, I guess I wouldn't know.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because it's one of those things like people just want it to be like, okay, we're having you on, go sing, go pop some tags,$20 in your pocket, and get off and be done and be done.
- 46:43SPEAKER_00: And that's what they were expecting from him.
- 46:45SPEAKER_07: Which I just think you should never expect from McElmore.
- 46:48SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 46:49SPEAKER_07: So that's the part where I'm like, you brought that's like being like Candace Owens is opening for us.
- 46:54SPEAKER_07: Like, don't talk about Erica Kirk.
- 46:55SPEAKER_07: Like, it's not gonna happen.
- 46:57SPEAKER_07: Like, anyway.
- 46:58SPEAKER_00: So we'll go to the next story, but with that, you know, McElmore is now probably out of the Kia asylum.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: He's probably gonna be dropping another album.
- 47:06SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 47:06SPEAKER_00: He's launched.
- 47:07SPEAKER_00: Return of the Mac.
- 47:08SPEAKER_07: Like he is like, it's going number one from here on out.
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 47:12SPEAKER_00: So he should collab with Zara Larson.
- 47:15SPEAKER_07: Which he's donating everything that he earned from the tour to.
- 47:18SPEAKER_07: I well, I saw this again.
- 47:19SPEAKER_07: Could be a don't trust everything you Google.
- 47:22SPEAKER_07: I literally Googled who's opening for Ariana Grande when I went to the Ariana Grande show.
- 47:26SPEAKER_07: And for some reason, Google told me that Ava Max was opening for her to a point where I even made a story tagging Ava Max saying, Hey, if you do slow dance tonight, like let me sing the other guy's part.
- 47:36SPEAKER_07: So we show up to the concert a little late because we're like, we can miss the beginning of Ava Max.
- 47:40SPEAKER_07: No shade to Ava Max.
- 47:42SPEAKER_07: That's the front desk secretary to the key asylum.
- 47:46SPEAKER_07: And we arrive and we are like three-fourths through the way of yes and by Ariana Grande.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: Are you serious?
- 47:53SPEAKER_07: So we we walk up and I and I go to this person and I go, is Ariana on stage right now?
- 47:59SPEAKER_07: And she goes, Yeah, you're at the Ariana Grande concert.
- 48:03SPEAKER_07: And I was like, I rude.
- 48:05SPEAKER_07: I thought they were just like playing her music in the lobby.
- 48:08SPEAKER_07: Like, I was gonna get a prezzel.
- 48:09SPEAKER_07: I was gonna Prezzel.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: A prezzo.
- 48:13SPEAKER_07: I was gonna Prezzo, I was gonna get a pretzel, like you know, call it a day of Pepsi Zero.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:18SPEAKER_07: So we ran out there, we missed the whole uh first song and the half of the second one.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 48:23SPEAKER_07: Anyway, so don't trust Google all the time.
- 48:25SPEAKER_07: But anyway, yeah.
- 48:27SPEAKER_07: Um, I saw that he was donating everything from the tour to like pro-Palestinian stuff, which I could imagine him doing for sure.
- 48:34SPEAKER_07: Okay, but anyway, don't invite people on your tour if you expect them to not be themselves.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 48:44SPEAKER_07: Whether you like it or not.
- 48:45SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 48:45SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 48:46SPEAKER_07: Your next story.
- 48:47SPEAKER_00: Um, a Paris court awards Kim Kardashian one euro after her 2016 robbery.
- 48:53SPEAKER_07: Which I love that.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 48:55SPEAKER_07: Because then did she sue for one euro?
- 48:57SPEAKER_00: I believe so.
- 48:58SPEAKER_07: Like, if I'm remembering correctly, she sued for one euro.
- 49:02SPEAKER_00: Which is like a dollar fifteen or something.
- 49:04SPEAKER_07: And I think she did it because it was not about the money.
- 49:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:08SPEAKER_00: I I understand that completely.
- 49:10SPEAKER_00: I think for me personally, like, even if I have millions of dollars, at the end of the day, I'm a businesswoman and I love money.
- 49:16SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 49:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah, so it's like hand it over.
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: And I would say, yeah, I would be like handed over.
- 49:20SPEAKER_07: But when you're like the richest woman ever, like I guess that makes sense.
- 49:23SPEAKER_07: It probably comes off a little Does it?
- 49:25SPEAKER_07: I think it maybe robbed.
- 49:28SPEAKER_07: I feel like she's not suing to gain back what she was stolen from.
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: No, but just the experience.
- 49:36SPEAKER_00: But I think that some of the front desk employees were awarded money.
- 49:39SPEAKER_00: There was like people involved in the case that were awarded money.
- 49:42SPEAKER_00: So they they announced all of the money awards.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: Um, so other people did get money.
- 49:47SPEAKER_07: Oh wow.
- 49:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I feel like she's a very like, she has her money.
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:51SPEAKER_07: She's a very like um, she's a very uh proving, she's gonna prove a point.
- 49:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 49:56SPEAKER_07: And I love that about her.
- 49:58SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 49:58SPEAKER_07: Um, so she just got it.
- 50:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:00SPEAKER_07: This has been years.
- 50:02SPEAKER_00: Ten.
- 50:03SPEAKER_07: Um, I remember when that happened.
- 50:05SPEAKER_07: That was crazy.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: It was insane.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: I think Connie was like at a concert, and I think he got a phone call and left the concert.
- 50:10SPEAKER_07: It was like a big- she did her interview about it, I and she was crying.
- 50:13SPEAKER_07: I genuinely felt and her mom was crying, Christiana was crying.
- 50:16SPEAKER_07: Like, I felt so bad for her.
- 50:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:18SPEAKER_00: And what's crazy about this is like so many people lacked empathy just because she's famous at being like yes, and just being like horrible.
- 50:25SPEAKER_07: I never say horrible.
- 50:27SPEAKER_07: Horrible, horrible.
- 50:28SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 50:29SPEAKER_00: Anyway, anyway, so it's just crazy.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: Like, people go through things, and that's that was a traumatic experience.
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: So that case is closed.
- 50:36SPEAKER_07: Congrats on your euro.
- 50:38SPEAKER_07: Like, send it to me.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 50:39SPEAKER_07: Like at the end of the day, send me a euro.
- 50:42SPEAKER_07: Um, Lady Gaga quietly welcomes her first baby without ever announcing a pregnancy.
- 50:46SPEAKER_07: Um, the pop superstar and her fiance, Michael Polanski, recently became parents, but the news emerging after Gaga was photographed carrying a newborn in California.
- 50:55SPEAKER_07: I was shook when I saw this.
- 50:58SPEAKER_07: Because I was like, did we know she was pregnant?
- 51:01SPEAKER_07: Like, I had literally no clue.
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: Did they hide her pregnancy?
- 51:05SPEAKER_07: They don't know if she carried or if they had a surrogate or they don't they had people don't know um the origin of womb.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:13SPEAKER_07: Um, but uh location of womb.
- 51:15SPEAKER_07: Wombs near me.
- 51:16SPEAKER_07: Um she opened up Siri and said wounds, wombs near me.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:20SPEAKER_07: Um but um yeah, congrats to Lady Gaga.
- 51:25SPEAKER_07: I love that she's a mom.
- 51:26SPEAKER_07: And I love that she found someone that she wants to like have kids with.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: I just love her.
- 51:30SPEAKER_07: Yes, she's a mother to many, she really is, and now a mom to one.
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 51:35SPEAKER_00: I love her.
- 51:35SPEAKER_00: Me too.
- 51:36SPEAKER_00: Congratulations.
- 51:37SPEAKER_07: Congrats, Gog.
- 51:38SPEAKER_07: Okay, let's go to our ICUs.
- 51:40SPEAKER_07: But your ICUs are things that we've been beating to death during the ICU.
- 51:43SPEAKER_07: They're on like life support because we just love them so much that we just like beat them to death.
- 51:47SPEAKER_07: What's your ICU?
- 51:49SPEAKER_00: My ICU is Girl Boss Town.
- 51:52SPEAKER_00: Love, Robin G B T.
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: Yes, Robin Del Monte.
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 51:57SPEAKER_00: And one thing about Girl Boss Town, she is one of the greatest minds of our generation.
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: Also, when I genuinely didn't have any, what are you thinking about?
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: You know that's a rain moment.
- 52:09SPEAKER_07: If she needs to do something this is not me supporting AI.
- 52:14SPEAKER_07: If she did something with chat GBT, Girl Boss Town.
- 52:21SPEAKER_07: Is that not such a that's smart?
- 52:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, but she wouldn't do that.
- 52:25SPEAKER_07: I know, but GBT.
- 52:28SPEAKER_07: That's like sorry.
- 52:29SPEAKER_00: GPT?
- 52:30SPEAKER_07: Chat GBT Oh hell.
- 52:33SPEAKER_07: Hey, hey.
- 52:34SPEAKER_07: Or she should be gay.
- 52:36SPEAKER_07: Be gay.
- 52:37SPEAKER_07: The LGBT.
- 52:39SPEAKER_00: Something.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: Are you giving the master marketer marketing tips?
- 52:43SPEAKER_07: A hundred percent.
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, we're back.
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: You're like, if you're ever canceled, like just being a good idea.
- 52:47SPEAKER_00: No, you go on.
- 52:48SPEAKER_00: You go on.
- 52:49SPEAKER_04: You go on.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:51SPEAKER_00: So she is literally the most amazing mind of our generation.
- 52:56SPEAKER_00: Like I was thinking about it.
- 52:56SPEAKER_07: Very, very smart.
- 52:57SPEAKER_00: Very, very smart.
- 52:58SPEAKER_00: And she is literally, she would go on TikTok and generate ideas.
- 53:04SPEAKER_00: And a lot of these companies, I was like, they were using her ideas.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: I don't hopefully she saw a bag from those.
- 53:08SPEAKER_00: But she's one of those creators that'll go on and be like, I have a marketing campaign for this company.
- 53:12SPEAKER_00: She would say the most genius plan ever, and everyone in the world would be like, Oh, that's so smart, that's so smart.
- 53:17SPEAKER_00: And just from her posting those videos alone, there was so much positive like stuff for the brand, even if they don't implement it or not.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: It's just like, okay, this is a way that they could shift going forward.
- 53:27SPEAKER_04: I hope she was getting a bag from that.
- 53:29SPEAKER_04: I hope so.
- 53:30SPEAKER_04: She's very clever.
- 53:31SPEAKER_04: She is.
- 53:31SPEAKER_00: And I remember I didn't have that many followers at the time.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: And I messaged her, I said, Hey, I'm wanting to work with Maybelline at some point.
- 53:37SPEAKER_00: Like, would you mind just like reposting my video or like comments?
- 53:39SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
- 53:40SPEAKER_00: Because she's the only, she you can look through my following on TikTok.
- 53:44SPEAKER_00: She is the only person that I'm following that doesn't follow me back.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying to follow me back, but like she's the only person I don't follow celebrities.
- 53:52SPEAKER_07: If you hear this, follow her back.
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: No, but um, she's the only person.
- 53:55SPEAKER_00: And so I messaged that.
- 53:56SPEAKER_00: She literally went, I think she commented on the video, she reposted it.
- 53:59SPEAKER_00: Um that is crazy.
- 54:01SPEAKER_07: I forgot that that was her.
- 54:02SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 54:03SPEAKER_07: Because I remember that interaction happening.
- 54:04SPEAKER_07: I think I didn't know who she was at the time.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 54:07SPEAKER_07: That is so funny.
- 54:07SPEAKER_07: Because I found out about her when she was a guest on a podcast.
- 54:10SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 54:11SPEAKER_00: But all that to say, she is my ICU.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: I talk about her all the time.
- 54:15SPEAKER_00: Um, and she just every company in the world, if they are smart, they will get her on board and see what she thinks.
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: Um, because she can take, she can flip anything.
- 54:24SPEAKER_07: I love that.
- 54:25SPEAKER_07: She's so smart.
- 54:27SPEAKER_07: My ICU, not the two, but honk honk.
- 54:32SPEAKER_07: Two.
- 54:34SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 54:35SPEAKER_07: My ICU is Truth Serum.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 54:40SPEAKER_07: This podcast is good.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: I yeah.
- 54:43SPEAKER_07: Like, I was like, we're still working on it, but there's a chance we have our first like official sponsor, and we were talking about it, and they were like, the quality of your podcast is insane.
- 54:52SPEAKER_00: Shout out to Aaron King.
- 54:54SPEAKER_07: Shout out to Aaron King.
- 54:55SPEAKER_07: Shout out to Tulsa Podcast Studio on the Historic Greenwood app.
- 54:58SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 54:59SPEAKER_07: But this podcast is genuinely.
- 55:00SPEAKER_00: He also does wedding stuff too.
- 55:02SPEAKER_07: This podcast is genuinely so good.
- 55:03SPEAKER_07: Yes, I have a mop behind me right now.
- 55:05SPEAKER_07: So, like, you know, ignore that fact.
- 55:08SPEAKER_07: But the quality is so good.
- 55:10SPEAKER_07: We really did just jump right into this, like hit the ground running.
- 55:13SPEAKER_07: We literally have released every week since we started.
- 55:15SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 55:15SPEAKER_07: It is it is more work and like more like like it is more taxing, not in a negative way than I thought it would be.
- 55:22SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 55:23SPEAKER_07: And being committed to something for now, like this is gonna be our 13th episode.
- 55:27SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 55:28SPEAKER_07: Like it most a lot of podcasts don't make it to 13 weekly episodes.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 55:32SPEAKER_07: And I just genuinely think that, and like genuinely, like people tell me all every day I get at least, you know, five people who are saying that they listen to it.
- 55:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 55:39SPEAKER_07: Sometimes it's people that we don't even know personally.
- 55:41SPEAKER_07: Like it's not like just our friends listening to it.
- 55:43SPEAKER_07: It's very special.
- 55:44SPEAKER_07: Like 90% of our of the people who listen are like in Tulsa, it's a very local thing.
- 55:49SPEAKER_07: But like I genuinely the fact that anybody listens to it is crazy.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:53SPEAKER_07: And like I just genuinely love this podcast.
- 55:56SPEAKER_07: And I also never thought that I would co-host a podcast with somebody.
- 55:59SPEAKER_07: Like I always thought it would be like my thing.
- 56:01SPEAKER_07: Like, I never really want, I still don't want to be like a duo.
- 56:05SPEAKER_07: I still don't want to be a duo with anyone.
- 56:07SPEAKER_07: That's and that's not personal.
- 56:08SPEAKER_07: Like that's just I want like I just want to like have a I'm a solo act.
- 56:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah, same.
- 56:12SPEAKER_07: And like, but like this podcast is good.
- 56:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 56:15SPEAKER_07: Like, sorry, it's good.
- 56:17SPEAKER_07: I will say and I want like I am like I am manifesting like I want like that dear media contract or like whatever it is, like whatever that is called, like a label for podcasting.
- 56:26SPEAKER_07: I want to get on one at some point.
- 56:28SPEAKER_07: Like find us.
- 56:29SPEAKER_07: Like, yeah, if you're looking for a podcast that is like new, that has like low stakes and like genuinely is high quality that you can clip the heck out of and get virality, like this is it.
- 56:38SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 56:39SPEAKER_07: So like find us, love.
- 56:40SPEAKER_07: Yes, find us one.
- 56:41SPEAKER_00: I will say really quick about the podcast.
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: It has been so nice to be able to have an outlet to share.
- 56:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 56:48SPEAKER_00: Because a lot of my friends say they listen and like learn more about me every week.
- 56:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, we learn about each other.
- 56:53SPEAKER_07: They're like, the podcast feels like I'm hanging out with you.
- 56:55SPEAKER_07: Like, I have a friend that's like, I feel like we haven't talked in like months, but I feel like I hang out with you once a week.
- 56:59SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 57:00SPEAKER_07: And like that, I love that.
- 57:01SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 57:01SPEAKER_00: And it's it's hard for me in friendships and relationships to want to talk about myself because I want to use that time to talk about what they're doing, and it's just awkward to start the conversation.
- 57:10SPEAKER_00: And so it is nice I'm able to share stuff here, and then they're able, like you said, yeah, to feel like they're hanging out.
- 57:15SPEAKER_07: It's a nice outlet to just like kind of throw up for an hour and leave.
- 57:18SPEAKER_07: Like exactly.
- 57:19SPEAKER_00: And I'm so thankful for everyone that listens, honestly.
- 57:22SPEAKER_07: Genuinely.
- 57:22SPEAKER_07: I I love doing this so much.
- 57:24SPEAKER_07: Okay, so we need to talk as our advice segment, and you can submit it on our Instagrams or whatever, DMS.
- 57:28SPEAKER_07: Or if you want to remain anonymous, you can email truthserumpofficial at gmail.com.
- 57:32SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 57:33SPEAKER_07: Our first one is I need my parents to get out of my husband and I's life.
- 57:36SPEAKER_07: How do I go about that?
- 57:37SPEAKER_07: So I will say this.
- 57:38SPEAKER_07: I do need a little more context to see if you're correct or not.
- 57:42SPEAKER_07: But I will say this if you want your parents out of your life, just like stop talking to them.
- 57:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 57:48SPEAKER_00: I sometimes a little more complex than that.
- 57:50SPEAKER_00: And I think that it is up to you guys, though, to establish those boundaries.
- 57:56SPEAKER_00: And it's one of those things like it obviously progressed for so long of them being at that point into your adulthood where they're still super involved.
- 58:04SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't say, yeah, just cut them off immediately, but give them a chance and sit down and be like, hey, I'm establishing these boundaries.
- 58:10SPEAKER_00: Can I accept that?
- 58:11SPEAKER_07: I'm saying that assuming they've already done that.
- 58:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 58:14SPEAKER_07: Because for the question to be, I need my parents to get out of our life.
- 58:17SPEAKER_07: That means that in my mind, I'm assuming you've already had like the boundary conversation.
- 58:22SPEAKER_00: I'm assuming they haven't.
- 58:23SPEAKER_00: And they're just like, Why, why are our parents so involved in our every move?
- 58:26SPEAKER_00: And like, why are they questioning this?
- 58:28SPEAKER_00: Set up the boundaries.
- 58:29SPEAKER_00: You have to set up the boundaries, have those conversations, and stick, stay on it and be like, hey, if you don't respect our boundaries, like we will.
- 58:36SPEAKER_07: You're gonna have a distance you don't like.
- 58:37SPEAKER_00: Yes, exactly.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: And then stick to it.
- 58:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 58:40SPEAKER_00: You know, don't show up to like Sunday's potluck.
- 58:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 58:42SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 58:43SPEAKER_07: I mean, I'm not or just take it to Go Box.
- 58:45SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 58:46SPEAKER_07: Show up school.
- 58:47SPEAKER_07: Show up and buy.
- 58:49SPEAKER_07: Um, I hate school, but I feel like I need to have a degree.
- 58:51SPEAKER_07: I literally want to drop out once a week.
- 58:53SPEAKER_07: What do I do?
- 58:53SPEAKER_07: Okay, so this was me in college.
- 58:55SPEAKER_07: Literally every single week I wanted to drop out.
- 58:58SPEAKER_07: I assume so.
- 58:58SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 58:59SPEAKER_07: Um, I literally wanted to drop out once a week the whole entire time.
- 59:02SPEAKER_07: I will say this.
- 59:03SPEAKER_07: I am so glad I went to college.
- 59:04SPEAKER_07: And I'm sorry, like most of my kids are, I mean, if they want to, they're I want them to go to college.
- 59:09SPEAKER_07: Not because I think they need a degree, but for the social aspect of it.
- 59:12SPEAKER_07: Like I think it's a good segue of like becoming an adult, like like having your own friendships, having a job, having a dorm.
- 59:18SPEAKER_07: Like, I genuinely think the experience is like really good.
- 59:21SPEAKER_07: If you're doing it only because you feel like you need a degree, unless it's like medical or law or like anything like that.
- 59:27SPEAKER_07: But if it's like a fake major, like mine, public relations and advertising, literally not real.
- 59:31SPEAKER_07: I'm sorry, like you literally don't need one.
- 59:33SPEAKER_07: Like, and I understand that there are places that like, sorry, this may be bad advice, but I know there are places where it's like if you have a degree, you can get paid more.
- 59:40SPEAKER_07: That is the only reason I'm glad I have one.
- 59:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 59:43SPEAKER_07: But if it's for me, like I will say everything that I I learned, nothing in college, like uh as it comes to my major.
- 59:50SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 59:51SPEAKER_07: I learned not one thing.
- 59:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 59:53SPEAKER_07: So if you are doing it because you're like, well, if I have a degree, I will get paid more at my jobs, then stay.
- 59:58SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 59:58SPEAKER_07: If you feel like you're not learning anything, you're doing it because you just feel like you need one for I don't know, whatever reason.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_07: Like, I don't know.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_07: I think just finish.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_07: I think college is fun.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_07: If you don't think it's fun to like have friends and like have a dorm and all that stuff, and you're not enjoying the college experience at all, plus you don't really care about what you're learning about.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_07: I'm kind of just like, then let's be done.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_00: It depends on how deep you are into it and the financial situation too.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_00: If it's like if you're already super like far in debt, it just depends like the ratio of like how far.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_07: If you're past a year and if you're like past three semesters, I would try to encourage you to finish it.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_00: And also two, you don't have to, if your university is expensive, let's just say you live in Oklahoma and you go to like an O R U T U, whatever, you can transfer to a university that costs less and finish up there.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_00: There's the I really don't care where your degree is from.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_00: And also two, if you're still so early into it and you you should look at trades.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_00: Like I am a huge advocate for trade school.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_00: And like two, like AI is not gonna fix your toilet.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_07: No.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_07: So not at all.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_00: Or you're gonna be able to do that.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_00: And also, two, like there are there are things online.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_07: I think it's called like finish line or something.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you can opt out of classes by like kind of like testing out of it and like quick course clapping out.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_07: So look into that.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah, um, I lean left politically on most things.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_07: I have a friend in my life who leans more conservative on pretty much all of these subjects.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_07: I can tell that it causes issues within our friendship.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_07: I care about this person a lot, and I would hate to see the friendship go away.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_07: But it makes it makes me feel like now we have a lot of eggshells, and I feel like it's getting to a spot where we are just constantly not seeing eye to eye.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_07: Is about to cut off a friendship due to politics.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_00: Um I think it's hard.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_00: I can't really answer this question.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_07: It's hard because I don't know what politics you disagree on.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_07: And I will say this like politics are not.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_07: If you have a friendship where there's eggshells all the time, you're just not gonna be close.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_07: So I I I think if it's something where you're kind of worth you're it seems like you're kind of okay with the friendship going away.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_07: I think any friendship you're okay with losing is not a friendship worth like working to maintain.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_07: So it sounds like you can just kind of let this fade away.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_00: So I would say, and I I can't give too much on this because all of my friends and I do pretty much align politically.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I have friends on like a full spectrum.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_07: But and you're able to- But I'm very firm on mine.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_00: But so as long as they're not like overstepping and making you feel bad and trying to like change your opinion every day and things like that, like I'm just wondering what the eggshells are.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_07: And also if they're like, if the eggshells like involve like making people of like like other races or like tax brackets or whatever feel like uncomfortable, like that's like a fundamental issue.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_07: Like that you shouldn't be friends with that person.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_07: So anyway, okay, last one.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_07: Um, I realized that my friend stinks.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_07: Other people in our life have noticed it, and I want to protect my friend's emotions, but I also want them to stop stinking for their own sake.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_07: How do I go about that conversation if I even have one?
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_00: Like smells.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_07: I have had the stink, the stink conversation with people before.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_07: If you are close enough with this person where you were like, I I it sounds like you need to tell them.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_07: So let me say that a conversation needs to happen.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_07: And I think you can tell anybody anything if you preface it well.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_07: And I think you can say, hey, there's something on my mind that I really want to tell you because I care about you.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_07: Like, are you okay with me just like being honest?
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_07: Like, I would, if this was me, I would want you to say it to me.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_07: They're gonna say yes.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_07: And now they can get mad at you for telling them because they signed off on it.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_07: So I think you should be like, hey, like, and don't mention that other people have noticed it.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_07: Do not mention other people have noticed it.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_00: Like it an isolated thing.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_07: Say, hey, I can tell that you kind of have an odor.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_07: I don't know if it's like deodorant or like, you know, if it's coming from, I don't know if this is a boy or girl, but if it's like, I don't know, the the no-no square, like, I don't know where it's coming from.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_07: But like, I I don't want other people to realize this about you.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_07: And before it gets to that point, I would I think that maybe you should take care of it.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_00: And I want you to, and and also there's no easy way to have a conversation, especially like even if you have employees or something, and it's one of those things that hygiene's infect uh impacting guest experience or anything, like you just need to have those conversations and find a way to do it right.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_00: And also don't compile it and be like, you've stunk on multiple occasions.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_00: Like it needs to be in the moment, stink and be like, hey, I smell a little something.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_07: Like, and if that scares you, here's another tactic.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_07: Say, Oh my god, there is literally somebody in my life, like you don't know and like they're at work, and like they like stink, and I like don't know how to tell them, and like people like are kind of like starting to notice it.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_00: That advice, because if they stink, why would they be self-aware enough to like piece together that you're talking about then?
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_00: You just need to do sniff around the room, you just be like, Oh, something's staying.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_00: Something's staying like this, and then people are gonna get self-conscious and be like, wait, let me smell.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_07: And the reason I bring up the no-no square is there was a guy on Big Brother who could kind of stank, and a girl confronted him on stinking privately with two other people there.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_07: So, not that private, but then they all discussed it with him.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_07: Don't do that, and it was because of his no no square.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_07: No, anyway, okay, that is truth serum today.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_07: Yay, thank you guys.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_07: See you next week.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_02: See you.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_07: Thanks for listening, hoins.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_07: Hoins and sweet hats around the world.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_00: Bye.
