- 2:39Is hold on to the ground, arrow. I feel like you take a heroic
- 2:43dose of mushrooms and now you're just, you know, you're along for
- 2:46the ride, baby. If it was mushrooms I would have
- 2:49felt a lot better than I did. Man, I I'm telling you, I've
- 2:52never thrown up like that before.
- 2:55Dude, I filled. The bowls, mushrooms.
- 2:57You'd be licking the microphone. I didn't even eat anything.
- 3:00I didn't even eat anything and I was throwing up as much as I
- 3:03was. I shut the door.
- 3:04I was. No applesauce, no chicken.
- 3:07No, dude, I want to tell you guys something.
- 3:10I've been really, really good. Just so everybody knows, I've
- 3:13been dieting. My A1C was up.
- 3:15I am down to 204 lbs. I lost 27 lbs.
- 3:21Just so you guys understand what I've.
- 3:23Done. I've lost 27 lbs.
- 3:26I've been really, really good. No applesauce.
- 3:29I haven't had a sugar drink in like 10 1/2 weeks.
- 3:33It's almost 11 weeks. I did a cold Turkey.
- 3:36Baby and me and fish were going back and forth.
- 3:38You got to do it. You got to do it.
- 3:40And I did it. So guess what?
- 3:41I look good. Maybe that's the reason why I
- 3:44have. No, it's I'm just kidding.
- 3:45Anyways, go ahead. I'm sorry.
- 3:46No, it's great. I'm happy.
- 3:47I'm happy to hear you're healthy, you're back.
- 3:49Hold on to the earth. I got a couple couple stories,
- 3:54some headlines here today. The Pirates are promoting Bubba
- 3:57Chandler. That's baseballs top pitching
- 4:00prospect there. He's 22 years old and he's
- 4:04getting his first call up. He's a former two way prospect
- 4:07who committed fully to pitching. He, I don't know if you know
- 4:13much about him, but high octane fastball, he throws in the upper
- 4:1790s, has a pretty good slider. He's starting to get a feel for
- 4:21a change up. And this is for the Pittsburgh
- 4:23Pirates. Obviously, he hopes the Pirates
- 4:25hope that he could spark some excitement in an otherwise
- 4:29turmoil year here as they are franchise building around young
- 4:35talent. But the kid is 22 years old.
- 4:38Jabba, when did you get called up?
- 4:42Three months. I was 2020 or 21, one of the
- 4:45two. OK, obviously you sparked a lot
- 4:49of excitement in Yankees fans as you know, being the outspoken
- 4:55player and person that you were and are.
- 4:58What kind of what kind of things can he expect in his first call
- 5:02up? I mean, obviously we're trying
- 5:04to get excitement from the fans. We know he's a top tier talent.
- 5:07He, you know, he brings a lot of talent.
- 5:08He's going to be brings a lot of heat with this fastball.
- 5:11He's got a good slider. I got called up a little later.
- 5:16I think I was 24, so not too much older than he was.
- 5:19But I kind of, you know, I was maybe a little more mature.
- 5:22But you coming up as a 20 year old, 21 year old, and this guy
- 5:25coming up as a 22 year old, what sort of things can he expect and
- 5:29what should he do if you were to give him advice right now?
- 5:32I honestly my best advice would be look at the dude in the
- 5:35clubhouse to talk to Paul. He's gone through it.
- 5:38He's he's going to have that obviously Paul being a little
- 5:43bit more of a household name, but you got to rely on those
- 5:45guys that, you know, have been there and and did it in that
- 5:49market. So they can kind of understand
- 5:51that. And I think that's that's your
- 5:53best bet going in And obviously with, you know, the accolades to
- 5:58get there and, and to be that prospect, but to kind of have
- 6:01that transfer of, OK, this is this ain't AAA anymore and, and
- 6:05rely on Paul and, you know, use him as a crutch.
- 6:08Talk to, I would say Bee is open minded and don't feel like any
- 6:13question is stupid when you get to that point because I get it's
- 6:17it's sometimes scary, probably not as scary in that clubhouse
- 6:21as it is in some older clubhouses where those guys have
- 6:25been there. So I think he's in a good
- 6:27situation just because that it is a bunch of younger guys to
- 6:31where it is. He doesn't feel like such an
- 6:33outcast. I was reading a little bit about
- 6:35the kid and his high school coach said that he is John
- 6:39Smoltz. He's that type of pitcher.
- 6:41He throws like John Smoltz. He's the number one.
- 6:45Yeah, yeah, he's he's baseball's top pitching prospect.
- 6:49Were you, John? Were you the top pitch?
- 6:51Baseball's top pitching prospect.
- 6:53But well they switched me to reliever so it changed like the
- 6:57Futures Game I had best rated best fastball or whatever from.
- 7:00Baseball. So you were one of the pop
- 7:01braided. Yeah, Yeah, we got called up.
- 7:04Here's a here's Is there a pressure for expectations?
- 7:08You're being labeled baseball's top pitching prospects.
- 7:11Can you? You're going to be, there's
- 7:14going to be some scrutiny. Well, there's going to be even
- 7:17more too, when you got that dude sitting in your clubhouse too.
- 7:22But also where I think it's not as much scrutiny or as much like
- 7:29pressure. There's no such thing as
- 7:30pressure to me. You're getting paid hundreds and
- 7:32millions of dollars to throw a baseball that that's not
- 7:34pressure. Pressure is when you come home,
- 7:36the lights are off and you can't pay your bills.
- 7:38That's pressure. Throwing a baseball is not
- 7:40pressure. If you can't tell me that it is,
- 7:42right? But I think for him being the
- 7:45situation that the Pirates are in, it's he's just going to come
- 7:48in and get a feel and get his feet wet.
- 7:50It's not necessarily, hey, you're coming in to save the
- 7:53season. He's going to come in, get the
- 7:55pace of the game, the tempo of the game, because people don't
- 7:58understand how much faster the game is.
- 8:00When you get to the big leagues, everybody obviously has pitch
- 8:04clock or whatever, but the game just moves at a different pace
- 8:07and you don't really realize it as you're going up until you get
- 8:11to the big leagues. And then you go back down to
- 8:13like, make like a rehab start and you're like, dude, I'm about
- 8:15to fall asleep. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 8:18The lights are not as bright, that's for sure.
- 8:20But there's going to be an adjustment period for him and
- 8:22for Arrow and Speedy. Have there been any any
- 8:25prospects with Arrow with in New York and Speedy with the Mets
- 8:28that you have followed and have been actually excited about
- 8:31'cause I got to imagine some of the Pittsburgh Pirates like
- 8:33faithful have followed this kid from draft day all the way to
- 8:37now making his Major League debut.
- 8:39Is there anybody that you followed per SE with the Yankees
- 8:42are speedy with you with the Mets that you have followed like
- 8:44and have just been like this is the guy like Arrow you?
- 8:46You love the Gremlin, like and he's going to be playing.
- 8:49I don't you've. Followed him.
- 8:51You have met him. You are.
- 8:52You are on his balls. You love him.
- 8:54I was never on his balls. I never wanted to be around him
- 8:58and everything. Ever since he spoke and he said
- 9:00the stupid things that came out of his mouth at the Heisman
- 9:02Trophy, I didn't want to hear what he had to say.
- 9:04I didn't want him on my. Team did you say busted balls
- 9:07about 17 times last time so it's.
- 9:09True, he was busting balls because he's all about ball
- 9:12busting. Honestly, the two guys that
- 9:14really stuck stuck out to me in those year in in the earlier
- 9:18years was Philip, Phil Hughes and Jabba Chamberlain.
- 9:22It was Phil Hughes and Jabba Chamberlain.
- 9:24Those were the two guys that I was reading about and I got a
- 9:27chance to watch these guys develop.
- 9:29And be called. Up and and and both guys were
- 9:32being compared to each other. So is Ian Kennedy when these
- 9:35three guys were first round talents and they were being
- 9:37compared with one another. But there was one thing that I
- 9:40knew about Jabba Chamberlain that really thought when, when
- 9:44Jabba, when we interviewed Jabba and I told Jabba what I liked
- 9:46about him was his personality going on the field and doing the
- 9:49things that he did, showing enthusiasm.
- 9:52Philip Hughes was quiet. He didn't really do anything.
- 9:54And he was really just like mellow and, and laid back.
- 9:58When I watched Jabba Chamberlain, everything,
- 10:00everything that he threw, he was throwing with force and, and you
- 10:03know, pizzazz. That's what I want to see.
- 10:05I want to see those kind of guys.
- 10:06I want to see guys that are going to bring, bring the fans
- 10:09to, to that level. And, and that's, that's the guy
- 10:12that I'm not trying to blow your head up, Jabba, but you were the
- 10:16guy. You were the guy that really
- 10:17stood out to me in in the younger, in the younger years of
- 10:22what I followed the New York Yankees in in the early 2000s.
- 10:25So I would say you Speedy. So I would, I would say for the
- 10:29Mets, a lot of the times with the Mets, because they really
- 10:31relied on their homegrown pitching a lot.
- 10:33I think Matt Harvey probably had the biggest hype that I remember
- 10:36that I can remember for sure. They've tracked, they tracked
- 10:39him for like 2 years before he even came up.
- 10:42And like it was always because the Mets were so bad at that
- 10:44time. It was like, when is he going to
- 10:45come up? When is this like pitching
- 10:46revolution was going to start Syndergaard?
- 10:49Zach Wheeler. I knew when they traded for Zach
- 10:51Wheeler. Zach Wheeler.
- 10:52Didn't have that same level of hype.
- 10:53He was, he was a he was a first round talent by the Giants.
- 10:57And the way Matt Harvey. Did he was traded for Carlos?
- 10:59Beltre No, no, no. As a prospect, he was rated.
- 11:02Just as high, I knew Zach Wheeler was going.
- 11:04To be spent from the like the media.
- 11:06I think what Goody's getting at is more of the media coverage
- 11:08standpoint. Matt Harvey, he.
- 11:09Was quiet the two guys. Harvey Matt Harvey injected
- 11:14excitement in the fan base in for the New York.
- 11:17I was actually he was somebody. He I didn't even watch baseball
- 11:20when I got Tommy John, I like refused to watch it.
- 11:22I just like was bitter towards it because I was out not
- 11:25playing. He was the one pitcher of all.
- 11:28I didn't even watch the Yankees. I didn't watch anything.
- 11:29He was the one pitcher that I turned on to watch because that
- 11:32dude was an absolute. Freaking yeah.
- 11:34I was actually at the game that he homered and Citi fielded.
- 11:38All right, we don't care. I was.
- 11:40Feeling goody. I don't want to hear that.
- 11:42You at the game when his nose started bleeding after like the
- 11:456th ring? Yeah, I wonder why.
- 11:46I wonder why? Why his nose was bleeding?
- 11:50Well, powder. Little powder, little.
- 11:53Powder, We'll move on. We'll move on.
- 11:54We'll move on to the. Phillies.
- 11:57We don't want to trash that Harvey.
- 11:58I actually I never met the guy. But I could do.
- 12:01He pitched and respected the way he played the game.
- 12:04So, you know, I love that. I love that during after games
- 12:08he was going to clubs, trying to pick up girls, trying to find
- 12:11some hot ladies, as Nathan would say.
- 12:14I mean, trying to tie a leash to them and doing all the things
- 12:17that he was doing and smoking cigarettes, lots and lots of
- 12:21cigarettes. Great job Matt, we love you.
- 12:23Congratulations, the Derek Jeter wannabe.
- 12:26Yeah, showed up and showed out until you couldn't.
- 12:28Yes, but let's move on to the Phillies.
- 12:29The Phillies have sweeped the Mariners in a store of fashion.
- 12:31The Phillies dominated Seattle with their pitching and their
- 12:34hitting. They're starting combined for 34
- 12:36strikeouts in three games while the offense produced 48 hits.
- 12:40The sweeps comes just as Ace. Who is it?
- 12:44Who's there? Ace Zach.
- 12:45Wheeler, Java, You make me laugh.
- 12:47Zach Wheeler hit the IL, showing the team's depth and resilience.
- 12:53Here we go depth. The rotation depth is proving
- 12:56strong without their ace. So we know that they're going to
- 12:59be loaded. They we always know that they
- 13:01can pitch. They have a former Yankee as
- 13:03their pitching coach, former manager to Rob Thompson, Caleb
- 13:07Kothams, their pitching coach job, I think play with him.
- 13:09I played with him as well. We know that they can hit.
- 13:12Their offense is legit. They had 48.
- 13:14Kevin Long. Kevin Long was the Yankees
- 13:16hitting coach. K long as well.
- 13:18Yeah, there you go. We, they just, if you can coach
- 13:21in New York, they a lot of teams will poach coaches and players,
- 13:25but a lot of coaches get pushed away from, from the New York
- 13:28Yankees because they built such a good staff.
- 13:30Now, obviously, obviously there's a, there's a lot of
- 13:34turmoil going on right now with Aaron Boone.
- 13:36We know that you've covered that, you know, crazy.
- 13:38But speaking solely on the Phillies, this is a huge, huge
- 13:43historic performance in a, in a momentum getter.
- 13:45Where do you see them? Where do you see them ending?
- 13:50I don't remember who you had in the World Series.
- 13:52I had them all this year. At the start of the year.
- 13:54Who did you have, Speedy? I had the I had the Phillies
- 13:56winning it all against Kansas City.
- 13:57I will be wrong on the Royals, but they were my pick for a
- 14:01reason. Because I think a lot of the
- 14:03like systemic things, what we talked about earlier with our
- 14:05with our guest and Kyle Peterson with the Brewers, like sometimes
- 14:08like types of like pitching philosophies like that with the
- 14:10Brewers, they didn't work in the postseason.
- 14:12And the Dodgers, I mean, they got they got it to work last
- 14:14year, but how much can they do with all the injuries they have?
- 14:16The Phillies are the ones that can rely on like a raw process
- 14:18with their players a lot more. I think I had the Rangers in the
- 14:21World Series this year, didn't I have the Rangers, the Texas
- 14:24Rangers. The Rangers I'm trying to
- 14:26remember in the National. I, I had the Texas Rangers.
- 14:29I I'm. I think I heard the Reds.
- 14:32No, I didn't have the Reds. Were you not?
- 14:35I never thought I knew the Reds were never making the playoffs.
- 14:38By the way, how are your Reds doing now, buddy?
- 14:42How are your Reds doing now? I wouldn't say they're my Reds.
- 14:45I'm just. Saying you're the one that told
- 14:47me the Reds are making the playoffs.
- 14:49You and Jabba were trying to sell me that the Reds were
- 14:53making the playoffs. I think you said the.
- 14:54Dodgers would go back and that. I think you were the.
- 14:56Rangers, I think. I think it was the.
- 14:58One time to implement what he does.
- 15:00Trust me, just trust the process.
- 15:02The first season's going to be a little rocky, it's going to be a
- 15:04little shaky, but things will iron out.
- 15:05He took the Red Sox to the World Series and won it.
- 15:07Took Cleveland to the World Series, Lost it, and by a Homer.
- 15:12Do you believe in a tooth fairy? Why are you getting goody?
- 15:18A question. Why are you getting goody A
- 15:20question that could lead to a conspiracy theory.
- 15:23Yo, we got to wrap this. We got to get going dawg,
- 15:28because I am the tooth fairy. Hey, don't.
- 15:33Hey, as a tooth fairy and as the two dads here don't mess up like
- 15:37I did, man. I panicked.
- 15:41It happened. He got ready for bed.
- 15:43Like he was brushing his teeth and fell out.
- 15:45So it was like right at the end of the night and I'm like, shit,
- 15:49I don't know if I have any money.
- 15:51That's what I'm saying bro. And I looked and I only had 100.
- 15:56No chance. Did you slip 100 under that?
- 15:59And I went a don't make that mistake.
- 16:01I had to use what? Was I going to leave an IOU to
- 16:05my freaking? Five year old.
- 16:08He's like, yeah. Don't make that mistake.
- 16:10I I've literally I wanted. To know a set of teeth you got
- 16:13there. We.
- 16:15Gave him 10 bucks for one of his top teeth and then like he lost
- 16:19like a little 1 and I gave him like, I don't know, 4 bucks, 32,
- 16:22you know, somewhere like that. And he's like 4 bucks.
- 16:26Hell is this? And we're like, I forgot that
- 16:29one of the nights and I'm like, I don't know, maybe the tooth
- 16:31fairy couldn't find it. Dude, I fell asleep on a couch.
- 16:34Oh. I I, my father, my, my father
- 16:38when I was 12 years old. And I I knew it was my father
- 16:41because he left. He didn't leave any money.
- 16:43He left a cracker in a bag. OK, That's what my father did to
- 16:47me. All right, true story.
- 16:51No, But I was so happy. I was so excited to wake up and
- 16:55to go onto my pillow and I see a bag, a plastic bag.
- 16:58And I'm like, oh, I wonder what's in it?
- 17:00Bag of bulls. It was a Ritz cracker, a Ritz
- 17:03cracker, ladies and gentlemen, that's what I got from one of my
- 17:07from my one of my teeth. So.
- 17:09See, now they're my molars. Yeah.
- 17:10You know, So that's pressure. Yeah.
- 17:12Pressure, yeah. Thank you your.
- 17:14Dad was feeling it. Your dad was feeling.
- 17:16It yeah, but it was he may rest in peace.
- 17:19I miss you, Dad. My biggest thing with the
- 17:20Phillies, are they peaking too early like we're are we peaking
- 17:23too early here in August or are they going to be able to sustain
- 17:25this? I don't think they're going to
- 17:26be able to sustain this throughout the rest of the year,
- 17:27but stranger things have happened, so we'll see.
- 17:30They're a very streaky team all the time anyway.
- 17:32Like when they when they went to the World Series, they were hot
- 17:34and then they were really cold like in August and then got hot
- 17:36again and then the year after they were the opposite.
- 17:39So they just do everything in clusters.
- 17:41And he added something so very special to the everything at the
- 17:44end of the year. Stranger things, the final
- 17:46season is coming out. I'm excited.
- 17:49I'm so. Excited.
- 17:50Is it the final season? Final season, final season.
- 17:53I've been waiting for like 5 years for this to come out.
- 17:56It's it's. Going to be like freaking old.
- 17:59Yeah, it's been a long, long time.
- 18:00I'm so excited. You got to check out the check
- 18:04out the YouTube trailer. It's fantastic.
- 18:06I'm so. Excited.
- 18:07What are they going to be scared of now?
- 18:08They've seen it all, they said. What?
- 18:10What was that thing called they saw there?
- 18:11The Greenhead. Yeah, Jabba's the the bad guy in
- 18:16the in the final tag right there.
- 18:18And they're all going to be scared of the new Tooth Fairy,
- 18:21Nick Goody. Geez, what?
- 18:22Do. I got to be the scary one, all
- 18:26right. I'll be the scary.
- 18:27One you just, you paint me green, I'll be the Grinch.
- 18:31Now now goody the real question is, is your alter ego is the
- 18:34tooth fairy that MU two you're searching for?
- 18:37Oh my gosh, if any of the listeners have a first edition
- 18:40shining MU two hit up Daba in the mouth.
- 18:43I got some some gear to trade you.
- 18:44Oh. God, there he goes, there he
- 18:47goes with. These cards for a shot in MU 2
- 18:50for a minute bro, I'm willing to offer.
- 18:53Hey, did you guys go to the card show and sell any cards?
- 18:56No, I didn't get to make it, bro.
- 18:57I didn't get to make it. Some stuff happened and I just,
- 19:00I couldn't get down there. So I ended up buying.
- 19:03I ended up selling some textbooks back and bought by
- 19:07selling a card. He was like super stoked.
- 19:08So I got him a card. But you know, it is, it's
- 19:11neither here or there. All right, last one on the list
- 19:13here. I think Arrow actually had the
- 19:15Astros winning the World Series, who just got swept by the
- 19:18Tigers. Never.
- 19:18I think it's Houston out of the. Playoffs, I'm pretty sure.
- 19:24Never had the Astros? Never Valdez gave up six runs in
- 19:27the first inning. OK, that happens to anybody
- 19:31else. That happens to you.
- 19:32What was? I can't even think of Bubba, the
- 19:38guy we just talking about for the parts.
- 19:39I'm Bubba. We'll see you, kid.
- 19:42We'll see you. He's getting optioned all right,
- 19:44but he gave up. He gave up six runs in the first
- 19:47inning and Houston. Houston's offense, it was
- 19:52usually they're pretty good. They're a solid team, straight
- 19:54up. Offense, I got it.
- 19:58Yeah. All right, all right.
- 19:59Well, it is what it is, right? So it's just a wake up call,
- 20:02like a sweep could could force some some roster or some
- 20:07strategic adjustments within the front office before their season
- 20:12gets absolutely capped. Or are they going to allow their
- 20:15younger players to get some looks such as like the Pirates
- 20:18we talked about, they're going to be able to call some guys up.
- 20:21You know, they have a left-handed pitcher that I know,
- 20:23Colton Gordon, he's made his debut this year.
- 20:25He's pitching fine. I mean, he's serviceable.
- 20:28I really like him. I hope he does extremely well.
- 20:30But like, are we going to get extended looks from rookies?
- 20:34What do you think? This.
- 20:35Late is it's definitely a tough dilemma because you want them to
- 20:38get that kind of because the Astros have been stable for a
- 20:40while. You want them to get that kind
- 20:41of like later season experience. I mean, throwing them in the
- 20:44fire, you never know. But I think the way that the
- 20:46Astros pitching stalls enough depth, I don't think you're
- 20:48really forcing anything on them. So trying to ease them in might
- 20:51not be the worst thing. The hitting is where it's more
- 20:54questionable with Houston, I think depth wise for the
- 20:56postseason, that was the thing that concerned me at the start
- 20:58of the year. But they, like you said, goody
- 20:59they've been better than. Expected.
- 21:00It doesn't matter. Houston's not going to the World
- 21:02Series. I think they have pitching
- 21:05staff. I don't think they have enough
- 21:06bats and we're gonna. See, very dismal is that if that
- 21:10they don't have debt and their health is always a concern there
- 21:13in Houston. And the fact that they brought
- 21:17Korea back to play third, I mean, they're gonna be haunting
- 21:20that because they still, they still got to pay them.
- 21:23And what do they have three years left on that contract?
- 21:26Good luck on that. I mean Houston.
- 21:29Twins are paying most of it. They're still they're still
- 21:32paying something out of it. They're not paying all of.
- 21:34It they played paid the most out of the teams the Twins tried to
- 21:36trade with them. I mean, how to me, you, you have
- 21:40to deal with that for three years.
- 21:42And right now, Houston needs the power in their lineup and they
- 21:46don't have any. So I, I just, there's no way
- 21:49Houston's winning the World Series.
- 21:51I don't even see if they're a wild card team.
- 21:53They're going to be knocked out in the wild card game.
- 21:55They have great pitching pitching wins.
- 21:56Champions Joe Espada has anything up his sleeve.
- 21:58No, no, no, not a chance in hell.
- 22:02I mean, they're pitching. Their pitching's up and down.
- 22:05Valdez has been inconsistent. Obviously it raises some
- 22:07concerns for the rotation, but he's the guy.
- 22:10He's the go to guy for them. So you know, we talk about a
- 22:15Paul schemes, we talk about somebody in the clubhouse so you
- 22:17can watch. But if the guy's not pitching
- 22:18right, I mean, he still is about this.
- 22:21Like, I mean, he's still going to get the job done.
- 22:22But obviously with their lineup and their offense, that's what I
- 22:25think is going to take the biggest hit.
- 22:27I don't foresee them maybe, maybe in September, they'll call
- 22:30up some of their call ups and get it, get some looks at
- 22:34younger guys. But that's at least that's what
- 22:38the Yankees did about every September.
- 22:42They would just load the roster, call up all 40 guys and then
- 22:45basically just when we're up by 7, down by 7, throw in the
- 22:48rookies and kind of get their feet wet.
- 22:50So maybe the Astros do that, give their their heavy hitters a
- 22:52blow. But I don't know, we'll see.
- 22:55And then obviously the hater haters deal that we spoke last
- 22:59week about, we'll see what ends up happening with that.
- 23:02They said at least three weeks, right?
- 23:05Yeah, but three-week can be season ending.
- 23:09Yeah, it could be. Or it could be 3, it could be 3
- 23:12weeks and then not, you know, he gets a couple PRP, he gets a PRP
- 23:15shot and some stem cells and baby got stuck in his shoulder
- 23:18and next thing you know he's coming back on 100.
- 23:20So you never know. They're doomed.
- 23:22That's all I'm going to say. Absolutely doomed, ladies and
- 23:25gentlemen. Houston's good.
- 23:27That's right. That's the perfect picture for
- 23:29goodie right there. Wonderful.
- 23:31The tooth fairy, or whatever tooth fairy are.
- 23:34Mr. Nick Goodier, right, I got to.
- 23:37Figure out I got to do that, dude.
- 23:39Good call, man. I don't even know how that we
- 23:41got onto that subject, but that was freaking.
- 23:44Funny you want me to pat myself on the back.
- 23:47Maybe it was my Vertigo. I don't.
- 23:48Know we need nothing to make a tooth fairy drop so Goody could
- 23:51use it for his fantasy name. I've been hearing a lot of
- 23:53different things today. I've been hearing drops, loads,
- 23:57rubbing. I mean, this has been a really
- 23:59disgusting show, ladies and gentlemen.
- 24:01You're the one over here talking about busting balls.
- 24:03I first of all, I never said busting balls.
- 24:07I said ball busting. That's what I said.
- 24:09That's all I said. I didn't say busting balls, I
- 24:12said ball busting and. As far as busting your balls?
- 24:15Yeah, well, guess what, ladies and gentlemen, we have a new
- 24:18king. I don't know why we call this
- 24:21next segment King of the Hill. Here's the King of the Hill.
- 24:26This, Bobby, is the Beltline. You never ever hit below that.
- 24:30Not that kind of King of the hill, you dumb ready.
- 24:32Are you ready? This is King of the Hill.
- 24:36Smell my ass. I need Brittany also.
- 24:39Smell my ass. Everybody welcome.
- 24:42Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Whoa whoa, don't even.
- 24:45Why is why we got Tubby up there with the helmet on.
- 24:50Let's just face hobby, I'm not making the new graphics.
- 24:52Hobby. You just call me hobby.
- 24:55You win again, maybe I will. Nick Goody is first week
- 24:59defending his crown. Errol Marks is going to have to
- 25:03play down below. I think we're going to get Aaron
- 25:05in as well to play King of the Hill.
- 25:09First round peasant fight, four people battle it out to get to
- 25:12the joust decided by King Goody over here to who will face off
- 25:17against the King for a chance at the crown where it'll be a
- 25:21democratic vote to see who keeps it.
- 25:23Are you boys ready to? Play king of the hill.
- 25:26If you're the king, you don't have to play anything but the
- 25:29final round, you get a, you get a last slick, don't you?
- 25:32Is that how we? I'm good, I'm chilling, I'm I
- 25:35get the vote. That that will give fish time.
- 25:36To work? Isn't that the way it goes?
- 25:38I mean, seriously. That that'll be get Fish plenty
- 25:41of time to work on the hybrid graphic of the Tooth Fairy and
- 25:44King together. So wait a second.
- 25:46I only get like 3 free AI things a day speedy.
- 25:50But isn't that the way it goes? You're going to make it.
- 25:53Get GPT to make a king tooth fairy hybrid.
- 25:58All right, we got our guys in. Let's play King of the Hill
- 26:01first round. Here it is.
- 26:05We've got best managers of all time.
- 26:10Yes, this goes all the way back to the days of I guess the Civil
- 26:15War when the game was created by Abner Doubleday.
- 26:20I don't know if he was a manager, he was probably just AI
- 26:22think he was a Major General actually, but he did invent
- 26:25baseball, so they say. So anything from that point in
- 26:27time to today, Best leaders of a franchise.
- 26:33Let's start it off here on King of the Hill.
- 26:36Going first will be Speedy, then Aaron Errol, then Jabba for two.
- 26:40Speedy All right, I'll start off with the Yankees manager of the
- 26:4350s Joe McCarthy won I believe 5 World Series in that span and
- 26:47was the winningest manager in Yankee history for a lot of a
- 26:50lot of that time and obviously coached a lot of great players.
- 26:53But again, that was a pre, pre free agency or it wasn't like
- 26:56George Seinbrenner was spending crazy then.
- 26:57So you have to really develop those players you make, make the
- 27:00good trades and end up creating it.
- 27:02Probably the second Yankee dynasty after the Beirut era,
- 27:05but still did it for a very long time.
- 27:07Aaron, I'm. Also going to stay with the
- 27:10Yankees. I'm going to go Casey Stangle,
- 27:12obviously, again, it's it's PCs John McCarthy, like Speedy just
- 27:17mentioned with the early Yankees.
- 27:18But again, so many World Series championships, so many good
- 27:21teams, I'm going to stick with that.
- 27:23Carol, I'm gonna go with Tony Larussa.
- 27:25Won three World Series, obviously 11 with the.
- 27:28We won a couple with Saint Louis and you also won with the A's,
- 27:32the Oakland Athletics. That's the guy I'm going with,
- 27:34Tony Larussa. And Jabba for two.
- 27:40I'm going way back to and I just I played in this World Series,
- 27:44so I'm gonna have to go. Connie Mack, obviously all time
- 27:48leader started, you know, as as a baseball player and you know,
- 27:53they they always say the best managers are catchers.
- 27:55And he happened to be a catcher too.
- 27:59And now it's it's crazy to think how long he managed and and what
- 28:03he meant to the game of baseball.
- 28:04And obviously there's still a World Series named after him.
- 28:07So he is definitely on my list. And I'm I'm going to be I'm
- 28:12going to be that guy. I'm going to have to go Bobby
- 28:13Cox because I born and bred a Braves fan and the man leads and
- 28:19as as one of the best to ever get thrown out.
- 28:21I don't know who was better, him or Earl Weaver, but Bobby and
- 28:25all the things, 15 division championships, obviously he was
- 28:28the GMB four. He was the one that actually
- 28:30drafted Chipper Jones. He was in the front office when
- 28:32that happened, when they didn't want to take him.
- 28:35And he's got a World Series under his belt and he always
- 28:37wore spikes, and that's just something that is just real.
- 28:41Errol. All right, I'm going to go with
- 28:44Bruce Bocci. I mean, Bruce Bocci, he he's
- 28:47won, he's gone. He's taking 2, two teams to
- 28:50World Series and one. He's taking three teams to the
- 28:52World Series and one and three teams to the World Series and
- 28:57two teams that he's won with. There's not many play, many
- 29:00managers that's ever won with two teams in the World Series
- 29:04and and actually taking three teams to the World Series.
- 29:06So I'm going to go with Bruce Bocci.
- 29:09Aaron, I'm. Going to go with Tommy Lasorda.
- 29:12Obviously been with the Dodgers for such a long time, bringing
- 29:15them to the World Series twice in in the 70s and twice in the
- 29:1880s, losing 1 and then obviously winning 88 and being with, like
- 29:21I said, doing things for such a long time.
- 29:24Take the time. Speedy for two.
- 29:27I'll go with Sparky Anderson managing the Big Red Machine
- 29:30back in the 70s who won the three World Series there was one
- 29:33of the top 10 winningest managers in that in that time
- 29:36period as well, winning percentage wise.
- 29:38So definitely Sparky Anderson was in baseball for a very long
- 29:41time as well. And another guy that was in
- 29:42baseball for a very long time is too.
- 29:43That was Dusty Baker, 8th all time in wins.
- 29:45Obviously taking many different teams to the many different
- 29:49teams to the playoffs. Took him a while to win the
- 29:50World Series, which probably the only thing against him, but
- 29:52still one of the best player managers, one of the best guys
- 29:56in baseball. That we've seen for a long time,
- 29:58Aaron. Taking both of my picks, you
- 30:01know I'm going to stick in Mara. I'm going to go with Terry
- 30:03Francona. He's probably going to end up
- 30:05with what being one of the best managers in baseball once he end
- 30:07his ends his tenure, obviously being with the Red Sox in 2004,
- 30:11then obviously Cleveland now so many do different and good teams
- 30:15he's brought to the to playoffs and to the World Series.
- 30:17So I'm gonna stick with Terry. Prenkel Arrow.
- 30:19I'm gonna go with Billy Martin, Five time World Series champion.
- 30:24He was hired twice by the boss and yeah, he was a little crazy,
- 30:28but really stuck out to me as one of the greatest managers of
- 30:31all time. So I'm gonna go Billy Martin.
- 30:33And Jabba to wrap up the round. I'm going to go the man, the
- 30:37myth and the toothpick legend himself.
- 30:39And Mr. Dusty Baker, he's already.
- 30:41Taken. Who took him?
- 30:43Me. Speedy, that was my last.
- 30:44Back. Oh, damn you.
- 30:45No. So you know what I am actually
- 30:47going to go with? It's going to be out there and I
- 30:53don't know if it's really going to be.
- 30:54I'm going to take Walter Johnson, and he doesn't really
- 30:58get the credit that he deserves because he was a hell of a
- 31:01pitcher, obviously, but to do the things that he did and on as
- 31:07what he chose to do as a man, I'm just making this up because
- 31:11I have no idea. So my other two were great
- 31:16though. I don't know how Joe Torre's
- 31:18name didn't get mentioned in that segment.
- 31:20What in God's name, Goody? You're muted Goody's, but I'm
- 31:23sure that was awesome. How you freaked out?
- 31:26Guys. There was a reason why I didn't
- 31:28go with Tori. So I, I got look, I I don't know
- 31:32if I would take Tori over Billy Martin.
- 31:33I think that's a good point. But goody, you have your own
- 31:36criteria that you are completely up to.
- 31:38You're the absolute monarch king who's moving on to the joust.
- 31:43I like Speedy's picks. I think Speedy's picks are
- 31:46great. You brought up, you brought up
- 31:49Joe McCarthy, great pick. You brought up Dusty Baker,
- 31:52obviously legend in this game. And then your last pick, who was
- 31:55your last pick? Sparky Anderson.
- 31:57Sparky Anderson. Yeah.
- 32:00All right. I like, I like.
- 32:03I like Speedy's picks. Aaron.
- 32:06I like yours, obviously. Terry Francona.
- 32:09You also went with another Yankee.
- 32:11Who was your other? You were Casey Stengel.
- 32:13Really good picks there. Can't argue with that.
- 32:15And then you had another one. Who was your other one?
- 32:17Oh, yeah. Tito with the Dodgers.
- 32:20Solid arrow. Who were your picks?
- 32:25Billy Martin was his last pick. Tony, Larusso and Bruce.
- 32:29Bochuso was his first in Boche. Bruce Boche.
- 32:32You can't argue with Bruce Boche either.
- 32:33And then? He has the biggest head in
- 32:35baseball. Jabba, you had the, you had the
- 32:37best one with, I mean Connie Mack and you were the last one.
- 32:40Connie Mack is probably the one of the the greatest all time
- 32:43managers. He did punt on the last 1
- 32:46though. Yeah, cuz I'm about to pee on
- 32:48myself. All right, we'll get you a
- 32:50break, but you solid. Breaks Bobby Clarkson Wearing
- 32:54nails is money too. Errol or Aaron?
- 32:57Hey, Bobby Cox was was my my my dog.
- 33:00All right, I'm going to let you pick this one.
- 33:04Fish all. Right.
- 33:06I'm going to go with Errol only because you said Tito Francona
- 33:11was the coat is currently coaching Cleveland.
- 33:13He is coaching Cincinnati. And by the way, the Reds are
- 33:16only 1/2 game behind the Mets for the last playoff spot.
- 33:19So it's not like they're they they're it's not like they're
- 33:22not going to make the playoffs. It's close.
- 33:24It's you know, I'm going to, I'm going to hunch down with you
- 33:26completely forgot about that. To me the the Reds.
- 33:29That's the only thing if I was asked.
- 33:31That's why I'm going with Aaron you.
- 33:32Forgot no, but I agree. I agree that's.
- 33:35All right, Aaron, pop out. Let's go to the joust.
- 33:38Sorry, Kane, you can talk. I'm I'm just the the jester.
- 33:41Yeah, no, I thought Aaron's picks were fantastic.
- 33:43I love it. I love this picks.
- 33:45I thought they were great. Actually didn't even catch that.
- 33:47But it was a tough between Errol and Aaron.
- 33:49I was probably leaning more towards Aaron.
- 33:51I didn't catch him say Cleveland.
- 33:53But you know what? I know you like Errol, so I you
- 33:56know, we'll let you pick. It says, hey, we're we we share
- 33:59the wealth here. You know what I'm saying?
- 34:01I got it all right. Here it is, the joust topic.
- 34:05Best outfield arms of all time. Any position in the outfield Who
- 34:12had the best cannon, the best howitzer, the best Tomomanski
- 34:18throws of all time? Goody, who do you want to go
- 34:23first? Oh bro.
- 34:26Let's hear Arrow. Let me see.
- 34:27Let me see what Arrows got. I'm going to go with Roberto
- 34:31Clemente, that's who I'm going with.
- 34:34One of the greatest arms of all time.
- 34:36I had a gun. Everybody said probably had the
- 34:39best arm of all time when it came to Al Fielder.
- 34:41So I'm going to go Roberto. Comment day speedy.
- 34:45I'm going to go with one that I couldn't stand because he was a
- 34:47Met killer, but he had the best one I ever saw that was Jeff
- 34:49Frank Gore and had it for a very long time too.
- 34:51Frank Gore with the Braves could throw it a lot of times from
- 34:54like right in front of the warning track and get him and
- 34:56get him out of home, get him out of second base a lot of the
- 34:58time. Even with Texas, he was very
- 35:00strong for a while even though he was an injury prone player.
- 35:02So he's definitely the one best one I've ever seen.
- 35:04So I'm going to go with. Him.
- 35:05Carol Ichiro Suzuki, another gun of an arm, Hall of Famer.
- 35:12People forget about how great of an arm he has, but everybody
- 35:16talks about what he did as a hitter.
- 35:17But this guy had a gun for an arm, so I'm going to go Ichiro
- 35:21Suzuki. All right.
- 35:24Back to speed angle. Watch the angle.
- 35:26Watch the angle there. So I'm going to go with another
- 35:29guy that was a legend in the American League West, among
- 35:31other divisions for a while too. Vladimir Guerrero had a very
- 35:33strong arm as well, definitely really laser accurate as well,
- 35:37in addition to the strength as well.
- 35:39And I think obviously with the injuries later, his career
- 35:42couldn't play as much outfield, but he still had a very strong
- 35:44arm even when he lost the range. All right, last pics, Errol.
- 35:48Well, there's two guys that really stand out to me.
- 35:50I can go with the Yankee or I can go with another blunt, but
- 35:53this guy has been the the guy that people would probably not
- 35:57remember it because it was an A while ago.
- 36:00I'm going to go with Dick Redding.
- 36:02That's where I'm going to go. Dick Redding with his arm, one
- 36:04of the greatest arms of all time.
- 36:06People forget about Dick because the name Dick.
- 36:09OK, I'm going to go Dick Redding.
- 36:11I it was either him or Dave Winfield.
- 36:14So I that's the way I would have gone.
- 36:17What I'm reading is the what Dick Redding had, The kind of
- 36:20arm that Dick Redding had is they compare his arm to Roberto
- 36:24Clemente. And I'm reading a little bit
- 36:25about my grandfather. You talk about a guy who played
- 36:27in the 1910s. Yeah, they say he had the couple
- 36:31day would be proud. Yeah, that's what they're
- 36:32saying. They're saying that he had.
- 36:35He's a pitcher. Yeah, they say he has one of the
- 36:37greatest arms of all time. So all right, go darting
- 36:39pitcher. Dave Winfielder in center field.
- 36:41Yeah. Go to Dave Winfield.
- 36:43Another gun. Any one of those guys.
- 36:44Dick Redding, Dave Winfield. I'll go anywhere.
- 36:47Speedy last. Pick.
- 36:48All right, I'll round it out with a guy that became a Met but
- 36:50started off as an Oakland Athletic and probably had the
- 36:52greatest throw to home I've ever seen.
- 36:53That's the one assessment has had a cannon for a long time
- 36:56when he but when he was at the young points of his career with
- 36:59the A's they he had a throw from left field to home plate like on
- 37:02the fly. I never saw anything like it and
- 37:04led the I believe that each of those last two years and had a
- 37:08strong one with the Mets too in the beginning of his career
- 37:10before he got all those injuries and then started dealing with
- 37:12all those bores. You notice when Speedy talks
- 37:14about players, he he doesn't stop, he just goes.
- 37:20Like a statistic and you was talking about cracking nuts and
- 37:23Dick and all these different things.
- 37:25I don't know what you got going on and what's going on the
- 37:27verticals making you gay. I don't know.
- 37:29First of. All I wasn't cracking anything
- 37:31so. I don't know how Bo Jackson
- 37:35isn't the correct answer. Oh, that's what I'm saying,
- 37:37Bojack. Or what about Acuna?
- 37:39Did we not watch Acuna's throw that?
- 37:41Was standing. Still literally was on a line
- 37:45the entire. Time.
- 37:45The two guys that really stuck out to me was Roberto Klmenia
- 37:48and Ichiro Suzuki. Everybody else and Dave Winfield
- 37:51was a guy that really stuck out to me as a Yankee.
- 37:53So I'm going to go. Barker, they say, had a cannon.
- 37:56Aaron Judge, too. He's got a great arm.
- 37:58Aaron Judge. It could say Bryce Harper and
- 38:01Bryce Harper had it. It was all right, Tori.
- 38:05Jesse. Barfield, Tori Hunter, Jesse
- 38:07Barfield. I thought you were going to say
- 38:08Jesse Barfield, Errol. Yeah, when you, when you.
- 38:10No, I, I think I I'd probably go Roberto Clemente, Ichiro Suzuki,
- 38:14Dave Winfield, That's the way I would go.
- 38:16Those two guys, all right. Guys, hey, bring the boys back
- 38:19in. Let them pick.
- 38:21So you're like, so this is like one of those democratic
- 38:24monarchies, like they got in he's.
- 38:25The tooth fairy. He's the tooth fairy has to
- 38:27spread. The well that's true Goody is
- 38:29the tooth fairy. So I guess why don't Jabba and
- 38:36Aaron, why don't you just tell us who you've taken real quick
- 38:39to move on to the last round? I'm.
- 38:41Sorry, just go. What was the three again?
- 38:43Just. To so mine were mine were Jeff
- 38:44Francour, Vladimir Guerrero and Joanna Sespitas and.
- 38:48Then arrows was. Roberto Clemente.
- 38:52Ichiro Suzuki and Dave Winfield. I mean, I'm going to say first,
- 38:58I don't think it was close. I think Errol's was a lot
- 38:59better. Well, Ichiro and Roberto
- 39:01Clemente are the two best arms involved, I mean.
- 39:03Frank Gore was. Really good.
- 39:05I agree. I agree.
- 39:06I agree with Errol. 'S Ichiro's Electric.
- 39:08But like Ichiro, come. On Ichiro's Electric, obviously
- 39:13Roberto Clemente was one of the best.
- 39:15One of the best. He had the best arm.
- 39:17Clemente might have been the best.
- 39:18Yeah, the best arm Clemente was. Clemente is rated as the best
- 39:23outfield arm. Statistically, he.
- 39:24Was whoever he's at the top. And then Ichiro is also.
- 39:28Yeah, and Jabba brought up Bo Jackson.
- 39:30I can't believe. I didn't want to use Bo Jackson
- 39:32because I, I know a lot of people probably I wanted to go.
- 39:36I I Roberto, comment to Ichiro Suzuki.
- 39:38I mean, I like, I like Dick Redding.
- 39:41I just he was a pitcher. Yeah, he was also an.
- 39:43Outfield. Well, no, he was.
- 39:44He was mostly an outfielder. He only pitched for a couple of
- 39:48seasons. He was an outfielder.
- 39:49But he played from 1911 to 1936. And what they're saying about
- 39:55him is he he might have had a better arm than Roberto
- 39:58Clemente. José José Guillen.
- 40:00He's another good one. Yeah, or I was saying Acuna.
- 40:03I will say Errol. Errol to go with your or your
- 40:07Cespedes pick. They're speeding.
- 40:09He used to throw up before every game.
- 40:11Nerves. Damn.
- 40:13No, he just would always throw up.
- 40:14Like there were sometimes we didn't have a left fielder
- 40:16because Sespe was throwing up in the trash can, always in the
- 40:18tunnel. And he'd be he'd be smoking
- 40:20cowboy killers. Who would you play?
- 40:22Where'd you? What team did you play?
- 40:23Detroit. Detroit, Detroit.
- 40:25All right, let's let's move on to the final round guys.
- 40:28It's going. To be it's going to be Errol
- 40:31and. And the king, The king.
- 40:35Over here in the face off the rematch, here it is.
- 40:39Final round of King of the Hill. Are you boys ready to play?
- 40:43Here it is take on the king. This one's a little tricky.
- 40:49The players who were the most famous during the times they
- 40:55played. So I'm not saying who was the
- 40:58best. I'm saying if we're talking
- 41:01about the 1950s, this guy was the guy of that era.
- 41:05The 1960s, he was the guy of that era.
- 41:09I want you to tell me who the dudes were of the eras and goody
- 41:15you get to choose if you want to go first or get last legs.
- 41:19I'm going to go first. All right.
- 41:21Goody, I got to go first. I got to go with the Sultan of
- 41:26Swat, the great Bambino, Babe Ruth.
- 41:32I think this was called the Dead Ball era, if I'm not mistaken.
- 41:37I don't know what what I think. That's what is it.
- 41:39No, he's like the 20s or 30s or whatever, but I'm talking about
- 41:44Babe roof. He, he is the when you think of
- 41:47greatest baseball player of all time, you think of Babe roof.
- 41:49He pitched, he hit, he did it all.
- 41:51He's doing what now? People are comparing Shohei
- 41:53Otani to the babe, the baby, the baby roof.
- 41:57There's movies made after him. Sandlot.
- 41:59What are they trying to get after?
- 42:00They're trying to get baby roof's balls.
- 42:02That's what I'm talking about. That's who I want.
- 42:05The colossus of clout. The colossus of clout.
- 42:09The time of. Error Errol.
- 42:14I'm going to go, I'm going to go to the barrier of bringing
- 42:18African American players in, and that would be Jackie Robinson.
- 42:21Jackie Robinson was the guy that broke the barrier for African
- 42:25American black players and took it to a whole nother level.
- 42:28So I'm going to go with Jackie Robinson.
- 42:32This is becoming a really cool list.
- 42:35Back to the King, Goody. OK, all right, check it out.
- 42:38There's a lot of players in this era who were very, very famous.
- 42:41And I could go, I could go Yankees all day, but I'm going
- 42:45to go with a splendid splinter. The greatest hitter to ever
- 42:49live, Teddy Williams, not only was he the greatest hitter, hit
- 42:53400, but he also served in World War 2 as a pilot, which is
- 42:57pretty dope. Came back and decided to
- 42:59continue playing. That one, of course, you had to
- 43:04add that one. If you could listen, if you
- 43:07could fly a plane, come back and still be AG on the baseball
- 43:09field after taking years off and come back and still get it done
- 43:13here that he's an American hero. I salute the Tedster.
- 43:17He's the best. Now he was a Red Sox.
- 43:19So what? I don't care.
- 43:20He was great and I loved it. Errol.
- 43:25I'm going to go Willie Mays. Willie Mays and the outfield two
- 43:28way player. One of the greatest defensive
- 43:30players of all time. We talk about great arms, but
- 43:32what he did in the outfield and power hitters, he did
- 43:35everything. One of the greatest all around
- 43:37play. And Barry Bonds, his godfather.
- 43:39I'm going to go Willie Mays. Not Hayes, but Willie Mays.
- 43:43I'm going to go all. Right last picks King Goodie.
- 43:47All right. I'm going to go with the current
- 43:48player, somebody who's current, who's not only just a superstar
- 43:53here in the States, but he's a Global Icon.
- 43:56He's been in many controversies as of late with the Hawaii deal,
- 44:00the gambling deal here. I'm talking about the gambling
- 44:05switch, the switch pister to hitter.
- 44:08I'm talking about Japanese superstar, LA Dodger, World
- 44:12Series champion Johei Otani, global superstar, two way
- 44:17phenomenon, who as I said, we've never seen anything like this
- 44:22since my first pick, the great Camp Bambino, the salt and the
- 44:25SWAT. Babe Ruth put a stamp on it.
- 44:29I'm going to put. A stamp on this one, and I'm
- 44:31going to, I'm going to take you. I'm going to take you out on
- 44:33this one. I'm going to go with the guy
- 44:35that broke Babe Ruth's record, the one and only Hank Aaron.
- 44:40That's who I'm going with renowned breaking.
- 44:43He's the only one that really broke Babe Ruth's record.
- 44:46What he did for the Braves and what he did for baseball at the
- 44:49time and the length of career that he had.
- 44:51He played what 2728 years of professional baseball, the
- 44:56longevity and just special player one one of the greatest
- 44:59baseball players of all time. People forget about what Hank
- 45:02did for baseball and and taking baseball to higher height.
- 45:05So I'm going Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays and Hank Garrett.
- 45:09Yeah, it was 27 years because the only two years he wasn't an
- 45:11All Star at 25 first and last year in.
- 45:14Baseball. Take your otani, Take your otani
- 45:17and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
- 45:19We got the babester, Mr. Baseball, the babester.
- 45:22We have the American war hero, so if you go against that,
- 45:27you're on American. Right.
- 45:29The splendid and. Then you picked Otani as your
- 45:32third guy. Get out of here.
- 45:33And they were going go go global superstar.
- 45:37You pull the one-on-one show a Otani card that's autographed
- 45:40with the patent. Goodbye. $1,000,000 should have
- 45:42went somewhere else. You took that to garbage.
- 45:45So other guys I was expecting. Mickey Mantle, Joe Di Maggio.
- 45:50I was expecting Di Maggio and Mantle to be I could.
- 45:53Have worked for magic. I didn't want to go that way
- 45:56era, but I wanted to go. I wanted to go.
- 45:58All Yankees I could have went Babe Ruth, DiMaggio and Derek
- 46:01Jeter. Boom, yeah, I don't I don't know
- 46:03if I would have said, you know, except most famous Derek Jeter
- 46:06maybe you know, it's that's why it was interesting thing.
- 46:09So I'm going to go with King Goody on this one.
- 46:12And the reason for it is Hank Aaron got those stats over 27
- 46:16years, but he's one of those guys that he never had a fifty
- 46:21home run season. He was always one of the better
- 46:24players in the league. But was he the most famous?
- 46:26He was until the last couple of years when he was going for the
- 46:28record. Was he though?
- 46:31I think he might have been like a top ten, the top 15 famous guy
- 46:35most of his career. I don't think anyone ever said
- 46:38like the era of Hank Aaron. You know, he was just this
- 46:42phenomenon that was really good for like the longest time ever,
- 46:46you know what I mean? So for that reason that in the
- 46:49fact on yesterday's show, we or last week's show, we learned
- 46:52that Shohei Otani has like 9 times the amount of followers is
- 46:56Aaron Judge. And if there's anyone better
- 46:58than Otani, it's Judge. But he's 9 times more famous
- 47:01than him. Because he's a global superstar.
- 47:04Icon Global. Global, obviously really close.
- 47:08I love the Jackie Robinson Willie Mays picks, but I mean
- 47:12it's Babe Ruth and it's Teddy Ball game.
- 47:14So goody, Aaron. I'm also going to have to go
- 47:19with with Goody all and this is the reason why it's because I
- 47:23think it's it is really hard to combat anything with more than
- 47:27show Hey and Ruth it you can obviously you can you can put
- 47:30your answers there like like what officials saying, but when
- 47:34you're going like that with with Abe and and show hey, it's it's
- 47:37it's hard to to top them in my in my opinion.
- 47:41Speedy, I'm gonna go with Errol. I actually think the reason I
- 47:44think the 50s, I think Willie Mays, I think was a more popular
- 47:47player and Mantle I think would have been the other one I think
- 47:49than Ted Williams overall. Maybe Williams was a better like
- 47:51talent wise, like you're saying, goody war hero.
- 47:53But I think popularity wise, I think it definitely was arising.
- 47:55Obviously Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier, I
- 47:58think it has to put that up there.
- 47:59I think Babe Ruth was obviously the number one answer for
- 48:01anything, but I like Errol's 3 answers after that.
- 48:04All right, 2 to 1, Jabba. Yeah, I, I Jackie Robinson's a
- 48:09no brand like Jackie Robinson and Babe Ruth were like
- 48:11literally the 1A and 1A1 like it it's those ones.
- 48:18But yeah, I'm going to have to go with Goody and and the Otani
- 48:22part of it. I think Willie obviously is is
- 48:27one that, you know, his catch is infamous and and what he did and
- 48:31consistently. But yeah, when you when you are
- 48:35global and you do that and of your era and to to do what he's
- 48:38doing and nobody else is first of all, not tried it, but then
- 48:42to succeed the way he has since Ruth and their numbers are very
- 48:45similar. Yeah, that's for, I mean 2 to
- 48:49one really for me. All right, in that case, that
- 48:53means Nick Goody gets to keep his crown for another week.
- 48:58A valiant effort. A close vote 3 to 1 split
- 49:01decision. Goody.
- 49:04The. Is there, is there a reason why
- 49:06we keep picking baseball every single week?
- 49:09I mean. Seriously, because it's baseball
- 49:11season. When else am I going to use
- 49:12baseball? Pick something else.
- 49:14I mean where we're. Going well, you guys, you guys
- 49:17made the king of the hill the one time baseball and it was it
- 49:19wasn't it was supposed to be football.
- 49:21And and by the way, Hank Aaron was a very popular player in his
- 49:24era, I. Don't know, but was he, was he?
- 49:26Yeah, he was. He was the 60s.
- 49:27Yeah, he was. Yeah, he was.
- 49:29I would say Mickey Mantle. 70 No, I'm not talking about, I'm
- 49:32talking about the series drink. Aaron, here it was McCain.
- 49:35Aaron for 10 years was the one of the top two players in
- 49:39baseball from the 70s. I don't know what you're talking
- 49:41about. You lost your mind.
- 49:43I would say it's not about best players, most famous.
- 49:45Famous. And you're gonna tell me.
- 49:47Hey, Aaron isn't famous. What are you in the?
- 49:4950s I don't think he was. Five stop, stop.
- 49:53He's I don't think he was. He's the black.
- 49:54He's the black player that broke Babe Ruth's record that
- 49:57everybody thought. Was all I'm saying is until he
- 50:00got to like 600 style first looked at him first of all.
- 50:04You, Errol, you know you're wrong, right?
- 50:06What? Because now the Negro Leagues
- 50:08are accredited and Hank Aaron doesn't even hold Josh Gibson's
- 50:11jock strap in home runs. Josh Gibson had over 8. 100 that
- 50:14we're we're talking about the major leagues and and that's.
- 50:17What we're talking about, it is considered the major leagues.
- 50:19Now in my opinion, Hank Aaron was as big and as far as errors
- 50:24are concerned, was as big as any one of the guys he mentioned.
- 50:27So I don't know what you're talking.
- 50:28About I mean, we're, we're like splitting hairs.
- 50:30It was. It's like that's why I picked
- 50:32that topic. That's why I went first, because
- 50:33I had to get Babe Ruth out of the way.
- 50:36I think that was the smart pick that honestly, that was the
- 50:38smart pick. But even if you'd have went that
- 50:40way, you're coming back with Jackie Robinson either way.
- 50:43Like it's it was. So wherever you went, it was
- 50:45going to be 1 or the other coming back.
- 50:46I was going to go Sandy Koufax too so.
- 50:49I think Koufax would have been a good pick.
- 50:51Look, there's a lot of guys. You think Reggie Jackson was the
- 50:54most famous guy in the 70s? Like because of what he did with
- 50:58the A's before even getting to the Yankees?
- 51:00Well, when you say famous too, he was like one of the first
- 51:02guy, like there was. I mean, you can look at like Joe
- 51:05D with Marilyn Monroe if we're just talking famous in the
- 51:08aspect of that, you know what I'm saying?
- 51:09That's what I was saying, you know, like, but again, it's a
- 51:12silly list. It was a that was a fun one
- 51:14tonight, guys. Maybe next week we go something
- 51:17else that that would be. Cool, I already promised because
- 51:19we want to get Zach on. That would be cool.
- 51:21Our interns last week so we want to get all of them in on the.
- 51:25Thank God and. Zach as it.
- 51:26Seems like it's an all. Baseball.
- 51:28Thank God you hated the interns. I thought they did.
- 51:30A good job. I'm talking of guys that now
- 51:32you're you're trying to flip it and and be an idiot.
- 51:35I what I'm saying is we've been picking baseball.
- 51:38Let's let's move on, let's move on, Let's move on, let's move on
- 51:44from this baseball. I mean, come on, every single
- 51:47week it's baseball as soon. As football season starts, we'll
- 51:50do football. Oh, really?
- 51:52It's is that what we're gonna do?
- 51:53Is that what we're gonna do? Well, what what we'll do is when
- 51:56football starts, well Goody can go look as Scar.
- 51:59Goody told me no NASCAR. That's.
- 52:01I, I I probably know more about NASCAR than any one of these
- 52:03guys on this you. Told me you that's a bold face
- 52:06line. I, I, I'm a big Dale Earnhardt
- 52:09fan. So if if we go back in the past,
- 52:12Dale Jarrett, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff.
- 52:14Gordon, say you look. Like Jimmy Johnson, I followed.
- 52:17I followed in those days, you know, 1012 years ago, I was into
- 52:22NASCAR. I followed NASCAR.
- 52:24OK, so are. You talking senior or junior for
- 52:27Dale Earnhardt? Senior I was a big senior fan.
- 52:29I followed an. Intimidator.
- 52:31I followed here was. Junior was garbage on the track.
- 52:34I I never said that he was good. He, he practically just used the
- 52:38name and, and to me, I watched him and Dale Jarrett for Daytona
- 52:425 hundreds, all the, all the Daytona 5 hundreds.
- 52:44I I enjoyed watching the whole race when him and Dale Jarrett
- 52:47went head to head every single year And, and that was fun.
- 52:51And, and watching the growth of Jeff Gordon and and then Jimmie
- 52:55Johnson and all the different guys that I've seen over the
- 52:57years, I actually liked race car, you know, and NASCAR and
- 53:02stuff like that. But now with what's going on
- 53:04with NASCAR, I'm not interested. I have no interest in it.
- 53:07So that's pretty a lot, pretty reason why the reasons why I
- 53:11didn't want to bring up NASCAR. I have no interest in NASCAR
- 53:13anymore. I want to apologize to all the
- 53:15fans in the beginning of the show with my Vertigo situation
- 53:18that usually never happens. It's it hasn't happened on the
- 53:21show really for 13 years. It's never happened to me
- 53:25before. I it got worse probably two
- 53:27years ago. There are days than others that
- 53:31I get it, but I don't throw up like that.
- 53:33I, my face, fucking excuse my language turned purple.
- 53:37I went to the bathroom. I, I did what I had to do.
- 53:39I, I don't even think I was going to get through the show.
- 53:41So I want to apologize to the fans with that.
- 53:44But All in all, we got through the show.
- 53:46I don't know how I did it, but thank you to all the fans
- 53:48following us on Spotify and Apple.
- 53:50Keep following us, YouTube, Twitter or X, whatever you call
- 53:53it, TikTok, Instagram, all of them.
- 53:56Thank you to all the fans for continuing continuously keep
- 54:00following us and we'll be back on Monday.
- 54:04It has been one hell of a week dealing with the cable
- 54:08situation. Excuse me, the cable situation
- 54:11on Monday, but that won't happen next week.
- 54:14Thank God. There is hurricanes going on.
- 54:16Hurricane Aaron is hitting, hitting everything right now and
- 54:21and it's just absolutely demolishing everything that it
- 54:24hits. So hopefully all the families
- 54:26out there that are dealing with the situations with the
- 54:28hurricane, hopefully everybody's taking, taking cover and taking
- 54:32care of their families. So that's a horrible story right
- 54:35now. That's going on right now here
- 54:36in the United States. So hopefully all the families
- 54:39are are being taken care of. Yeah.
- 54:42Do we have anything on Monday? Yes, Nathan was able to get
- 54:45Lindsay Berra, who's Yogi Berra's granddaughter, and he's
- 54:48a board member. She's a board member on the Yogi
- 54:50Berra Museum now, did a lot of Yankees content in the past with
- 54:54espnandmlb.com and was the executive producer as well of a
- 54:58documentary called It Ain't Over about Yogi Berra.
- 55:01I actually watched it. It's a great documentary of Yogi
- 55:04Berra and she was actually on it.
- 55:06It was sensational. Anybody that hasn't checked it,
- 55:08It was in the movie theater. It was in the movie theater for
- 55:11like a couple of weeks, but now you can get it.
- 55:13It was on Netflix. I think you can get it on
- 55:15Netflix right now. It's still on Netflix.
- 55:17If you haven't checked it out. It is a great documentary.
- 55:20The the tale of one man that just absolutely dominated the
- 55:24catching position, not only for the New York Yankees, but the
- 55:26MLB and baseball. He is really the face of the
- 55:30catching position. I don't care what anybody says.
- 55:32He was the all around greatest catcher to ever play the game,
- 55:36power wise, defence wise and winning as far as I'm concerned.
- 55:40And and the story behind him on how he became a Yankee is pretty
- 55:44unique. He wanted, always wanted to be a
- 55:46Saint Louis Cardinal, and the Cardinals passed him up and then
- 55:50he winded up being picked up from St.
- 55:51Louis. And he the Cardinals passed him
- 55:54up for, I think. Tim McCarver.
- 55:55McCarver, and I don't know if it was McCarver, but it was
- 55:58somebody and he, he signed with the New York Yankees and you
- 56:02know what happened after that, so.
- 56:05And he served his country. As he did.
- 56:07And Yogi Berra is a special. I never met him.
- 56:09I know Jabba's met him. I'm sure Nick has met him.
- 56:11I never got a chance to meet Yogi Berra.
- 56:13I met Mickey Mantle. I did.
- 56:16So that was a unique opportunity that I had.
- 56:19I also met Pete Rose, so 2 Hall of Famous, two of the greatest
- 56:22players to ever play the game. I met Derek Jeter and all those
- 56:25guys too anyways, and Java played with them and so did
- 56:27Nick. So that's it.
- 56:28So I know Lindsay, I talked to her too.
- 56:32There's some cool things that she's gonna do and we'll post it
- 56:34or whatever, but, and we can cut this and put it up, but yeah,
- 56:38they're trying to break the record on September 21st for the
- 56:40most people to ever play catch, you have to play catch for 5
- 56:44minutes simultaneously. They're doing it at the museum.
- 56:46We'll have more information, but if you guys want to go and check
- 56:50it out and kind of what they're doing, it is Yogi's big
- 56:53catch.org and it'll give you all the information.
- 56:55You can be a fan. Come watch it.
- 56:58But yeah, really cool thing. And she'll explain some more to
- 57:01us on Monday. But it's a really cool thing and
- 57:03she is so passionate, such a wonderful, wonderful human being
- 57:06and and she's really cool. So that'll be fun.
- 57:09Yeah, sounds really cool. And again, if you're a Yogi
- 57:12Berra fan and you know nothing about Yogi Berra and your
- 57:15father, you, Sir, or your grandfather used to tell you
- 57:17about Yogi, well, you get a chance to know a little bit more
- 57:20about his family and his background when Lindsay comes on
- 57:23and joins us on Monday. OK, that's it, ladies and
- 57:26gentlemen. Again, I hope everybody the show
- 57:29and we'll be back next week. Goodnight it It is the worldwide
- 57:32sports radio network. Radio Network.
