A construction worker in Washington County was critically injured when struck by a car Friday afternoon near Country Aire Drive and Highway 60—while clearing dirt from the road. The 48-year-old female driver, from Waldo, crossed the center line and collided with the 35-year-old worker, who was wearing bright clothing. The SUV then crashed into a nearby house, luckily without injuring anyone inside.
