- 1:51Mr. Beautiful Brody, what have you been playing this week when
- 1:54you've had the time? Not a lot.
- 2:00I, I feel like I've said that a lot recently.
- 2:04I've played a little bit more of Unicorn Overlord, but most of my
- 2:11focus has been on dispatch. I was well behind everyone else
- 2:16that has been playing this in the in our discord.
- 2:20So I hopped in and I, I think I was on like episode.
- 2:26Well, I just picked it up last week and you were on.
- 2:29Episode 3 when I was on when I was about to start at 7:00.
- 2:33Yeah, and I finished it before everyone else because I just
- 2:40happened to be off that day. So I was able to play Episode 7
- 2:43and then I came home and played Episode 8 later.
- 2:46That or I played part of Episode 8 and then I came home and
- 2:49finished it. Damn man.
- 2:54It's good. It is very good.
- 2:56I found out that a decision I made in episode 7 changed my
- 3:00ending and I was very upset about it.
- 3:02I didn't realize it was episode 7 that changed it, so I started
- 3:05back a couple scenes into episode 8.
- 3:07So I technically rolled credits twice.
- 3:10I haven't beat it twice, obviously, but I do plan to go
- 3:13back through it again for a completely different like run,
- 3:20try like the major decisions, do the opposite of what I did the
- 3:23first go around. Yeah, and and stuff like that.
- 3:27But boy, I really like that game.
- 3:31I would. Really love a whole mini game of
- 3:35just the dispatching. Your brother is absolutely
- 3:39fucking horrible at it. Lucas.
- 3:42Yes. No shit, it's Luke.
- 3:45He had five out of 6 heroes down last night while we were
- 3:50watching. He's on like episode 3.
- 3:54I've never downed a hero. I did once.
- 3:58I've injured a hero, never downed a hero.
- 4:01I, I, I did once. I didn't realize they were
- 4:04injured and I don't, I don't want to say too much.
- 4:10Near the end of it is when I finally hit the the point that I
- 4:14downed one. I was like fuck.
- 4:17How did Luke have? I don't know.
- 4:20I don't know. It was crazy.
- 4:22He'd send like one person on a mission.
- 4:24I'm like, what are you doing, man?
- 4:26This is a four person mission. It's it'll be fun.
- 4:29There are some missions like four person missions where I'm
- 4:32like, OK, so if I send this person in slot one and then
- 4:36throw this person in slot 2 because of that, this person
- 4:39will then add. So I found out good synergies
- 4:43that it's really interesting like that many.
- 4:45Like I love the story, don't get me wrong.
- 4:47Yeah, but the mini game itself, I really want a full like thing
- 4:54because it's like I've started playing Bilatro and like this
- 5:01mini game. And if I had just this mini game
- 5:03and Bilatro to play, I wouldn't play anything else.
- 5:06Like I like I am so hooked on Bilatro.
- 5:09And then just like replaying, I sat there and I was like, this
- 5:14is going to be OK. It's great.
- 5:16It's phenomenal. It's goatee for sure.
- 5:18Right? Like it it, it deserves every
- 5:21flowers it got. I was like, oh I see, I
- 5:23understand now. I played it on mobile is where I
- 5:27actually ended up picking it up so I could play it during like
- 5:31downtime at work and shit like that, so it's damn good.
- 5:35Damn. Problem is you know I have
- 5:40vices. No.
- 5:42That I yeah, I like to scratch. I've had to fight the urge while
- 5:49playing Bilatro to play Bilatro and not download the FanDuel app
- 5:55just to get some double gambling going.
- 5:57Jesus, you. Yeah, except for one of those
- 6:00gambling things does not cost money.
- 6:04Yeah. No, it doesn't.
- 6:06But boy oh boy do I wanna do it. I don't.
- 6:09Know boy, just OK, yeah, just playing a poker game.
- 6:15You're like, yeah, but what about FanDuel?
- 6:17I could play 88 fortunes make a ways anyways, but dispatch, wow,
- 6:25wow, wow. I cannot wait for Season 2.
- 6:27I've not finished it. I'm right after we're done
- 6:29recording this episode. I'm going immediately into
- 6:32editing and then immediately into dispatch episode 8, and I
- 6:38love it. I love it and I what a great
- 6:41cast. We're going to do a full review,
- 6:43me, you and Evan, but like, we'll get a little bit of
- 6:46chitchat out of the way with this.
- 6:47The cast is incredible and it's having Aaron Paul as the main
- 6:56was something I, I kind of initially was like, that's a
- 7:00weird choice because right, like acting and voice acting are not
- 7:04exactly the same skill set. Not always at least right?
- 7:07Some people, some people are great actors and shit voice
- 7:10actors. He kills it.
- 7:13He it. I adored his fucking character
- 7:17throughout our character. I guess, however you want to say
- 7:20it, but God, he's so good. He did such a good job and it
- 7:26honestly at no point during it was I like, Oh yeah, that's
- 7:30fucking Aaron Paul, right, like. No, I know that, Jesse Pinkman.
- 7:34I never once have done that. No, he he puts enough of a
- 7:39unique spin and characterization onto this onto you, Robert, and
- 7:47fuck, man, it's good. And all of the the the whole
- 7:51voice cast is good. I I was surprised.
- 7:53I actually I'm not like a huge YouTube guy, right?
- 7:57I like Jack Jacksepticeye in this.
- 8:00I liked Moist Critical in this. Young gravy.
- 8:03Young gravy. Which yeah, granted his voice
- 8:06was pretty modulated right? But holy shit he is one of the.
- 8:10Funniest Funniest characters in the game?
- 8:13Yes, like. Absolutely it.
- 8:15It's absolutely wild and bewildering to me how good this
- 8:18turned out because like, we saw it announced and I didn't know
- 8:23it was going to be this mature. Yeah, it's very mature.
- 8:28And. Very mature.
- 8:30I was like, damn, dude, this is like really like I know that
- 8:35there's some hero fatigue and I know at this point there's even
- 8:38more like the boys hero fatigue where it's like if heroes were
- 8:42just not heroes, but also doing heroic shit.
- 8:46But this is one of those things. This is like it just hits that
- 8:51point because there's it's that it scratches that itch because
- 8:55of what it's doing and what it's saying.
- 8:58Like, and I feel like we've all had like a friend like Robert,
- 9:02we've all had that friend, just the dude who's like been super
- 9:06low in life. And but it's still like that guy
- 9:08going let's get up and let's do this.
- 9:11And we've all had that person in our life.
- 9:13It's awesome. Like play this game.
- 9:17I don't care that people are going well, it's not much of A
- 9:19shut up. It's a game, go play this.
- 9:23Visual novels have been a genre video game for decades now.
- 9:27Like, this is nothing new. This is and it's it's like a
- 9:31Telltale, right? Like this is this.
- 9:33The studio has a handful of the people that worked on the old
- 9:38Telltale game back when people adored it, right?
- 9:41And I think this blows every Telltale game out of the water,
- 9:46personally. I, I was never a big Telltale
- 9:48fan. I I'm also not a big visual
- 9:50novel guy, right? But I think the way that they do
- 9:53it in this game, there's just enough of like the dispatching
- 9:59and like some of the other odds and in things that happen and
- 10:01making decisions that it keeps your attention.
- 10:04It's not just literally sitting there watching something unfold,
- 10:07right? It's not like watching an anime.
- 10:09It's not like watching any other show.
- 10:11Like you are involved consistently enough that like I
- 10:16never picked up my phone during this.
- 10:18Whereas other games when a story beats happening, I'm like, fuck
- 10:21it, I don't really care. I'll pick up my phone and do
- 10:23something or whatever, right? I'm a piece of shit, I
- 10:26understand. But this, this game captured my
- 10:30attention. You always had to be ready to
- 10:32make a decision or do something. And where a lot of games do this
- 10:36like choose your own adventure type of thing or not even really
- 10:40that many because I feel like most of them have the idea of
- 10:44that, but they don't actually follow through on it.
- 10:46This one actually has implications that your decisions
- 10:49do have implications on the story.
- 10:52Some of them aren't like crazy, right?
- 10:55Or they're whatever you pick is like mirrored at some point,
- 10:59right? But that being said, it all has
- 11:02implications. It all changes how the people
- 11:05around you respond to you in things that will a decision that
- 11:09you would have down the road. Like I said, my ending changed
- 11:12because of something I decided in Episode 7, despite everything
- 11:16I had decided prior to that. A singular decision in episode 7
- 11:19changed my ending. Yeah.
- 11:22It's. It's great, man.
- 11:24Yeah, it's just a date. They nailed it, man.
- 11:27And you know, there has been talk of a Season 2 and ad hoc
- 11:31was kind of like, yeah, I mean, maybe like right now there's
- 11:36nothing confirmed. There is, there is no
- 11:38definitive. Yeah, we're getting a Season 2.
- 11:40But given the hit that this has been, I hope they do.
- 11:44I think there's room to do a Season 2, even if it is like a
- 11:47completely different team, a different, like something even
- 11:51completely like not even taking place at this time.
- 11:54Like I I think there's a lot of room to do more with this idea
- 11:57and still keep the superhero stick or, you know, something of
- 12:01that nature. But I also, like you said, there
- 12:04is superhero fatigue, especially on the hero side of things.
- 12:09I I haven't heard as much about things like the boys because I
- 12:12don't I don't think that one's really over saturated so much
- 12:15where no, it's kind of like piece of shit superheroes owned
- 12:18by a corporation. I feel like that's still pretty
- 12:20safe. Jenna, you was really good.
- 12:23I I personally really enjoyed Gen.
- 12:26V which was their little like spin off.
- 12:30It leads into. Yeah, it's spin off tied in type
- 12:34of deal, but I I enjoyed the hell out of it.
- 12:36We just finished season 2, probably, I don't know, a month
- 12:39ago it. Was right around me to.
- 12:41Running it's good. It's really, really good, but
- 12:44but it's hard for me to see the superhero fatigue.
- 12:48Like I I get the kind of being over some of the Marvel stuff
- 12:52for sure. I I haven't even watched half of
- 12:55the Marvel shows. There's a couple movies I didn't
- 12:58watch like and and I'm a huge marvel fan, like right, like I
- 13:02have marvel all over my arm and all over my walls and
- 13:07everywhere, right. But I just, I feel like this is
- 13:11different enough. This is doing something almost
- 13:14Suicide Squad esque, but God, they, they make the character so
- 13:22fucking likable. Even even the ones that you
- 13:24start out hating or most of them you do because they're assholes,
- 13:29right? But there there's a certain
- 13:32quality about even like the the one character that I did not
- 13:37like up until fuck, it was like episode 6 where I was finally
- 13:41like, OK, fine, I get it. I get it.
- 13:44Right. Yeah, but man, it's, it's good.
- 13:50Go play this game. Your brother also complained.
- 13:52He's like, I don't know if this was worth $30.
- 13:55I'm like, what if if you went to the movies with one other
- 14:01person, it costs more? It was 2 hours of your fucking
- 14:04time. This is way better than any
- 14:06fucking movie I've ever watched. I like way better.
- 14:09It's way more entertaining. It's you're involved.
- 14:12Like I love it. I'm going to play through it
- 14:14again. I'm going to end up with like 16
- 14:16hours in this game. And I want, I want like 100% the
- 14:19game like achievement, yeah, but yeah, which is.
- 14:22Dude, that's going to be tough. I mean to some extent, right,
- 14:25like you're going to have to play through it a couple times
- 14:27probably, but yeah, I I want to play through it again and and
- 14:31play the the different path and God, I, I just I will be pissed
- 14:37off if this game does not get something a game boards.
- 14:41I don't know what right because I I, I feel like.
- 14:44No, it's. Not going to get game of the
- 14:47year and that's fair right This has been a huge year for there's
- 14:52been a lot of good games. I I think it maybe has a
- 14:56fighting chance and narrative maybe, but even then it wouldn't
- 15:00be my choice and narrative either because.
- 15:03Something along those lines. I, I feel like art direction is
- 15:06a great place for this to win. I personally my pick for for, I
- 15:12mean, I guess we'll get into that later, but nobody's going
- 15:14to be surprised to hear me say Expedition 33 would be my
- 15:17narrative of the year. But but God, man, yeah, this,
- 15:22this deserves flowers and it deserves all the attention that
- 15:26it's getting and all the sales that it's making.
- 15:30Go play this fucking game. It's cool.
- 15:33I want to try to get Amber to play it.
- 15:36I want to get Perry to play it. Yeah, I I see you're going to
- 15:39have a lot easier time getting Perry to play it than I am.
- 15:41Amber the only game she yeah fair enough.
- 15:46The only only thing that Amber has really played in the last
- 15:50like 5 years is like Mario Kart and she played a lot of Animal
- 15:56Crossing during COVID. Yeah.
- 15:58Yeah, and hasn't touched the switch for four years now.
- 16:02Nintendo used sons of bitches. They knew what they were doing.
- 16:05Oh yeah, I bought a console just for her to play Animal Crossing
- 16:08during COVID. Everybody does.
- 16:09Like, yeah, like everybody bought a Switch.
- 16:12It's crazy, but I, I, yeah, God, dude, it's cool.
- 16:18Other than that, I haven't played shit, dude.
- 16:20I, I played a little bit of Battlefield, like maybe an hour
- 16:23or maybe a couple hours and that's about it.
- 16:25It's been, it's been weird. You know what I've been playing
- 16:31Dispatch, Bilatro. Fucking Battlefield.
- 16:34I need to get back on ARC. I really like that game.
- 16:37I need to play it more with Evan, so him and I could do a
- 16:38full review of it on the show. But yeah, Bilatro Dispatch and
- 16:45Battlefield 6, what I've been playing to shift gears before we
- 16:50start talking about a lot of the big hitters this week, Jeff
- 16:54Keeley has announced that this upcoming Monday is going to be
- 16:58the announcement for The Game Awards.
- 17:00So all the categories, what's in those categories, yadda, yadda,
- 17:03yadda. So gear, get ready to gear up
- 17:06with us as we find the time in our lives to make rushed, last
- 17:11minute awesome episodes of us getting shit together to
- 17:15discuss. Because we do it every year.
- 17:17The end of this year is going to get real busy.
- 17:20Yeah, we, we got to go through all of those categories, make
- 17:23our picks and our predictions. We got to do our our yearly Game
- 17:28Awards watch. Love those episodes though, I
- 17:31love them and I hope you guys do as well.
- 17:33Those those episodes tend to do really good for us.
- 17:35We also typically will do like our own game of the year type of
- 17:39situation as well or like our top 510, whatever from the year.
- 17:44So yeah, there's, there's some really cool episodes that are
- 17:47going to be in the works and I'm fucking excited.
- 17:50It's my favorite time. I I love.
- 17:52These it's Christmas before Christmas, Yeah, so fucking I'm
- 17:57I'm ready to have fun. I am so ready to have fucking
- 18:00fun. Man, oh man, it's been a week
- 18:04and I don't want to. We're not gonna start there.
- 18:10We're gonna start with Ubisoft. There's not a whole lot of news.
- 18:12We know that the what? The shareholders meeting was
- 18:14cancelled. The.
- 18:18Fucking was it cancelled or delayed?
- 18:20I thought it was. Delayed initially.
- 18:22Was it delayed 'cause they also stopped?
- 18:24What was it? I I caught it like as it was
- 18:27happening and did not have a chance to go back to it so it
- 18:30may have been cancelled. I will take a peek and see if I
- 18:33can't find something. What that tell what?
- 18:35What it tells me is that I think Saudi, they're going to get some
- 18:39Saudi money, dude. They're going to be bought out
- 18:41too. Oh, probably.
- 18:44That's what it sounds like to me.
- 18:46Like, I know because everyone's like, and that's not good
- 18:48because it's not good. Weird little tidbit as I was
- 18:52trying to find this. Immortals Immortals Phoenix
- 18:55Rising is free to keep on Ubisoft Connect until December
- 18:572nd, so there's that. Go grab that I guess if you want
- 19:01to use that launcher. God damn it, dude.
- 19:06Fuck, Apparently the dispatch rider regrets cutting sex scenes
- 19:11as well. There was more.
- 19:14Apparently. Put those back in.
- 19:16Give us those back. What are you doing?
- 19:18Yeah. Can we get a director's cut of
- 19:20this? Come on, give it back.
- 19:22I forgot to say, I actually went back and bought the deluxe
- 19:25edition after I played through it.
- 19:27Actually, I was like Episode 6 and I was like, fuck this.
- 19:30I'm, I'm giving these guys $10 more.
- 19:32Come on. I want physical comics.
- 19:36Oh yeah, 'cause they have the comic section in there, it'd be
- 19:39sweet to have some some physical comics.
- 19:42I know I not to drag us back into where we've already
- 19:45treaded, but yeah, I'm trying to see.
- 19:52I know Keely posted about it and if we can't find the shareholder
- 19:55meeting was either cancelled or delayed and then there was like
- 20:00they couldn't sell the stocks and all that shit right now or
- 20:03like trading and all that got delayed as well.
- 20:07So this is from 10 hours ago says Ubisoft delays earnings
- 20:12release and halts trading 15 minutes before scheduled call
- 20:16with investors. So that's that's what I had seen
- 20:19earlier as well. So here's a.
- 20:22Good sign. Postponement of H1F fiscal year
- 20:282025 to 2026 results announcement Ubisoft announces
- 20:33the postponement of the release of its results for the first
- 20:36half of the fiscal year 2025 to 2026.
- 20:39Ubisoft has requested Euro Next to halt trading of its shares
- 20:43and its bonds from the market opening on November 14th, 2025
- 20:48until the publication of its first half 2025 to 2026 results.
- 20:53In the coming days, Ubisoft will inform the market of the date on
- 20:56which trading will restart. Yeah, that's not good.
- 21:00Not good. So basically they had shit
- 21:03numbers to show and they postponed this hoping that they
- 21:08I I assume have been trying to work out some sort of deal and
- 21:13they are probably close to closing on this deal.
- 21:16Thought they would have it done in time.
- 21:17There was probably something that hung it up and they
- 21:21literally were down to 15 minutes before this was supposed
- 21:24to release. It sounds like Ubisoft.
- 21:28Ubisoft has been in danger for a couple years now at least.
- 21:33Probably a good five. I remember covering it back in
- 21:37the diggity days of being like, yeah, Ubisoft is going to sell,
- 21:41right? This is going to happen, right?
- 21:46I, I don't know, man. I, I can't say I'm a big Ubisoft
- 21:50fan anyway, I they make the same game with different coats of
- 21:54paint and it's uninteresting. The, you know, back in the day
- 21:59when they first came out with Assassin's Creed, it was
- 22:01exciting. It was something new.
- 22:02And then they're like, yeah, let's do this for the next 20
- 22:05years. And yeah, let's actually go
- 22:08backwards and make them worse. Yeah, yeah, actually, yeah.
- 22:11Take, take the things that were actually good about this and
- 22:14just fuck it up. I know some people were super
- 22:17fond of the the. Avatar.
- 22:20Game, but a lot of that was people who were fans of Avatar.
- 22:23So I grain of salt to some extent right.
- 22:28I know that Star Wars outlaws was I I heard a lot of mixed
- 22:33things on it. It was.
- 22:34OK. Yeah, I don't know, Ubisoft has
- 22:39just been floundering for a while now.
- 22:42I'm. I'm.
- 22:44Yeah, and I'm surprised they held out this long.
- 22:48I mean when the most interesting and unique game you have made in
- 22:52the last 20 years has been a fucking Mario and Rabbids game
- 22:58on the switch, I. Guess they got siege.
- 23:01Yeah, they have siege, right. But even that, I mean, I don't
- 23:04think that's a cash cow it once was.
- 23:06No. I don't with the I, I haven't
- 23:09heard anyone talk about C Jacks since it launched.
- 23:13No, we were all excited about it and it came out and.
- 23:17We don't it's the same I've. Never even played it.
- 23:19I've never even played it. It's the same.
- 23:22Yeah, I God, I this doesn't surprise me.
- 23:26It's, it sucks to see, right? To some extent, just because
- 23:31anytime you get one of these situations where one of your
- 23:34major developers is like going under and going to sell to
- 23:38somebody, it's not a good thing. For the industry, you know it's
- 23:42very bad. It's very fucking bad,
- 23:44especially on the heels of of fucking EA selling to to Saudi
- 23:51Arabia too. It's like God this and and.
- 23:54And everyone assumes this is probably the Saudis again,
- 23:56because who is investing this kind of money into the gaming
- 24:00industry other than the Saudis currently?
- 24:03And for what? Yeah, I, I, I, I kind of
- 24:07understand EA at least a little bit, right?
- 24:09You have the esports, you have, you have FIFA, you have Madden,
- 24:13you have, there's some big cash cows there.
- 24:15I don't know why anybody would buy Ubisoft at this point.
- 24:19Unless they're just trying to buy it to revitalize Splinter
- 24:22Cell. I doubt it.
- 24:24I I don't think there's anyone out there that's going to spend
- 24:28billions of dollars because they want to bring back Splinter
- 24:30Cell, but just. God damn it, dude.
- 24:35Boy, yeah, this is kind of crazy, man.
- 24:38I don't, I don't know. I it, there's, there's part of
- 24:42me that's almost hopeful that they're not selling to like,
- 24:46maybe just selling to like Sony, right?
- 24:49I, I could, I can understand that I I hate big acquisitions,
- 24:53but. Yeah, but I don't know.
- 24:57At least it's almost in house. It's like we know Sony like I, I
- 25:01know you. Right.
- 25:03Yeah, you modeled Horizon Forbidden Dawn off of our games.
- 25:09Damn Brody, Calm. Down.
- 25:11I don't like those games. I'm so sorry.
- 25:14They're boring and Aloy has a huge head.
- 25:16Yeah, fuck. I just, yeah, I, I I would kind
- 25:21of hope that they're selling to somebody different, I guess.
- 25:25I don't know. I can't imagine this isn't going
- 25:27to be Xbox. Obviously they they can't for a
- 25:31while. I doubt Sony at that point, I
- 25:35doubt Sony's actually going to spend the money.
- 25:40Yeah, I mean, it, it's, it's almost got to be 10 cent.
- 25:43It's. The Saudis.
- 25:45Isn't $0.10 already a major share?
- 25:47Or not a major but a large shareholder in Ubisoft?
- 25:51I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe $0.10 just buys them out,
- 25:53right? So that's not good either.
- 25:56No, no, no, pretty much everything.
- 26:00Tailspin Purchase Listen, the gaming industry right now is not
- 26:05looking great. It's looking a little brighter
- 26:09though. It there?
- 26:10There's little glimmers of hope, for sure.
- 26:14And I want to start off with this.
- 26:17I told you also. No, no, motherfucker, you can't
- 26:20do that. You can't do that 365 days a
- 26:24week a year and be like I told you.
- 26:27I told you. Yeah, eventually you're going to
- 26:30be right, motherfucker. Oh man, it was a very, very cool
- 26:34day yesterday on Tuesday. Yes, it was cool.
- 26:37It was, it was, it was very cool or no, It was Wednesday, right?
- 26:41It was Wednesday yesterday. Yeah, yesterday Valve tweets out
- 26:48goes here you go. Yes, there was there was a
- 26:52marketing push type thing where IGN posts and like game and
- 26:57well, PC Gamer and like all the other publications, Tom's
- 27:01Hardware and like all these prominent people were like, hey,
- 27:06we, we, we've got our hands on these.
- 27:08It's cool shit. So let's get into that.
- 27:11Prior to this, we had already had inklings of all of these
- 27:16from people like sadly, it's Bradley, Tyler Mcvicker, Gabe
- 27:22Follower, all these people, prominent leakers, valve
- 27:26leakers, had already we we'd already known about the Steam
- 27:31Machine. We had already known about the
- 27:33Deckard, now known as the Steam Frame due to a, what's it
- 27:39called, copyright that was released by mistake.
- 27:42So we know that Valve copy put a copyright on Steam Frame and we
- 27:47already knew about the Steam Controller.
- 27:49It does look like the AI slop that we did see.
- 27:53Yeah, yeah. There's like mocks of that
- 27:59controller that go back like a year.
- 28:02Or. More of where people had done
- 28:04this. Yeah, I'll wait.
- 28:07Go ahead. It is cool to know that none of
- 28:13this these leaks were intentional from Valve.
- 28:17Basically one of they one of the developers was asked yesterday
- 28:21like hey, like are you Lee guys leaving bread crumbs?
- 28:23They're like, Nope, Usually it's a fat finger that leads to all
- 28:29this and they were like, can we post that?
- 28:32They're like, it is what it is. So it is cool see Valve going
- 28:37yeah, we're but we don't, they don't focus on the leaks.
- 28:39They're like, yeah, OK, yeah, whatever.
- 28:40They keep moving and that's important here.
- 28:44So this is big and it's big for a multitude of reasons if done
- 28:53right. And I will be critical here
- 28:55because price point for all of these is important.
- 28:59It is very important for Valve to be competitive, but the let's
- 29:05start with the Steam Machine. The Steam Machine is a, in my
- 29:09opinion, one of the best entry ways for people who don't into
- 29:12PC gaming. If you do not own a computer, if
- 29:16that is an awesome, awesome piece of hardware, if you don't
- 29:21own a computer and you want to get into PC gaming, this thing
- 29:25is a computer. Yes, my rebuttal to that is the
- 29:33fact that it is Linux based. So if you are not familiar with
- 29:38utilizing a computer, Linux is not the easiest thing to use.
- 29:41That being said, this is going to function predominantly like a
- 29:45console. You can.
- 29:48However, as Valve did say, if you want to put windows on it,
- 29:53you can put windows on it. Right.
- 29:54Yeah. It it this is, I mean it it's
- 29:56going to be using Steam OS it it's going to function very
- 30:01similarly to how the Steam Deck functions as far as a what
- 30:06they're going to be able to do with it.
- 30:09I I, I do have a few qualms with what they have said so far,
- 30:15like, you know, touting the 4K gaming yeah, in some things.
- 30:22They're also going to expand the Deck verified to the the the
- 30:27steam machine as well, where it's going to be like a steam
- 30:30machine verified. So not everything is going to
- 30:33work perfectly right. If if you have a Steam Deck, you
- 30:36understand what this means the the fact that everything has to
- 30:41go through a. It's ARM based and all that.
- 30:45It has to go through a compatibility layer because it
- 30:48is taking something that was originally purpose for Windows
- 30:52and essentially making it be able to work with Linux as well,
- 30:58right? So this is going to be it.
- 31:01And you can't play every single game on here not off the get go.
- 31:05It's going to take a lot of time.
- 31:06It's going to take a lot of work.
- 31:08Early adopters to the Steam Deck like both of you and I had
- 31:12gotten Steam Deck. The the games originally were
- 31:15pretty limited and and it get it gets better and as games come
- 31:19out they purposely do design games with the intention of
- 31:22being able to run on the Steam Deck.
- 31:25And this will be the same thing. I imagine anything that can run
- 31:29on on the Deck is going to be able to run on this like I
- 31:32write. Out the no.
- 31:33Issues. Yeah, no issue.
- 31:34All of that shit is already there.
- 31:35So some of the the, the groundwork has already been
- 31:39laid. But that being said there,
- 31:42there's going to be a lot of games that you won't necessarily
- 31:45be able to play here right off the get go or games that are
- 31:49coming out you will. And there's going to be some
- 31:52concessions, right? The the GPU that is in this is
- 31:58essentially like a RX 4600 M equivalent.
- 32:02I have all of these specs. We'll we'll go through here
- 32:05momentarily. Right.
- 32:06But yeah, I mean, as far as what that spec actually is, it is
- 32:10equivalent to like a or. Sorry, I think it was a.
- 32:14Was it a 4600? I fucking posted about it
- 32:16yesterday. I I forget exactly what it is,
- 32:21but I but it's they're saying it's like.
- 32:22A600 series somewhere. Yeah, it's this should run
- 32:26essentially close to like your PS-5 and Xbox Series X if I'm
- 32:32not mistaken. 7600 M But the problem that I have seen a lot
- 32:38of people bring up to is it's pretty short on RAM.
- 32:42It is. It is.
- 32:43RAM is not great and people are speculating that this is going
- 32:48to be slightly below the performance of like a
- 32:51PlayStation 5. Right, OK.
- 32:54So just just below right like in but like you said earlier, the
- 33:01biggest thing is going to be the price point on this, which Steam
- 33:04learned their lesson to some extent.
- 33:06Where they used to make high end peripherals and hardware with
- 33:11the Steam Deck, they are actually taking a pretty
- 33:13significant loss on that and making it all back in software
- 33:17that they sell. I imagine they're going to do
- 33:19the exact same fucking thing here.
- 33:21And it's common for consoles, right?
- 33:22Most consoles lose money, not usually a ton, but they lose
- 33:27money and they make money back in the storefront.
- 33:29So anyway, I didn't need to like completely derate.
- 33:33Yeah, and Valve. Valve makes fucking money hand
- 33:37over fist. With Gabe Newell, sell them the
- 33:42Gabe the the Gabe cube it's going to be.
- 33:46I love that somebody picked that up instantly.
- 33:49Love it. So in this machine.
- 33:52And then I'm going to go into a theory.
- 33:54I have a couple theories I have regarding the machine and it's
- 34:00tinfoil hat time, but it's warranted tinfoil hat time.
- 34:03I think it it, it, it makes sense to me.
- 34:06So you have an AMD Zen 46 core 12 thread processor up to 4.8
- 34:11gigahertz. That's that's that's good.
- 34:15That's a very good CPU. I don't think anybody was too
- 34:19concerned about the CPU. The GPU was always going to be
- 34:22the concern in this form factor, right?
- 34:25So we have an AM DRDN A3 with 2028 CUDA cores, right?
- 34:32I'm believing that's what that is up to, yeah.
- 34:36Yeah. CUDA cores up to 2.45 gigahertz
- 34:40with 110 Watt TDP. It's fine, It's good.
- 34:44Yeah, doing its thing like for a.
- 34:46For a 6 inch cube, pretty fucking.
- 34:50The inside of this thing is so awesome.
- 34:52It's all heat sync. It's.
- 34:54Oh, it has to be. It has to be.
- 34:57We have for the RAM, 16 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM.
- 35:01That isn't a lot, but it is the current generation of RAM, Yeah.
- 35:08I just hope maybe it's we'll get to that.
- 35:12So with with AV RAM of eight GB G DDR6 storage.
- 35:17G Ram is a touch concerning too, right?
- 35:19It is for the storage you you have your choice here.
- 35:23So this could be two models to choose from.
- 35:25It seems like that is 512 gigabytes or two terabyte SSD.
- 35:30It's a huge jump in. That's a massive jump.
- 35:34It seems crazy with and they also they're Oh yeah, I was
- 35:38going to say they're also expandable with that a micro SD
- 35:40card. And it has a slot for an m.two.
- 35:44Slots for m.two. It's fucking incredible.
- 35:47I. Love to see it.
- 35:49I love to see it. That is great.
- 35:52That is really good. It's probably.
- 35:53Going to be those little stubby fucking m.twos.
- 35:56There's full size, there's is. There full size.
- 35:59So I think there's a stubby 1 and then there's full size.
- 36:02That thing from what I saw from one end to the other like.
- 36:06Bless the Papa, Gabe. A stick of m.two is like what,
- 36:11fucking 4 1/2 inches or something like that?
- 36:14Like that, Like like that, something like that, yeah.
- 36:17Yeah, that's Wilds. That's a this is this thing is
- 36:21like an engineering marvel. Like I I I'm not one to ever pad
- 36:26an engineer on the back by any means because I worked in
- 36:29maintenance and engineers or the bane of my existence, but holy
- 36:32shit this is incredible what they've done so.
- 36:36For our connectivity we got Wi-Fi 6E Cool, no complaints
- 36:41there. Bluetooth capabilities,
- 36:43obviously getting into the Valve frame and the Steam frame rather
- 36:47and the Steam controller. We have an Ethernet port, you're
- 36:50going to need that. This is also wireless obviously.
- 36:53Display port 1.4. Thumbs up.
- 36:56I I know everyone's griping on HDMI 2 point O but a lot of
- 36:59people griping about that are also console players and not
- 37:01understanding I'll be using the display port.
- 37:04I am fine with that. Yeah, use.
- 37:06Use the fucking display port if you can.
- 37:09For sure, that's how you'll get the full performance.
- 37:11So HDMI is like how many people even have HDMI cable cables that
- 37:16are capable of much beyond two point O like unless you have a
- 37:20system specifically set up for that you you you don't have an
- 37:24HDMI cable that's. Like, they're also very pricey
- 37:28cables for no reason. So right, let's keep it at that.
- 37:32USB 3.2 Gen. 2 type C for four of those or no, there's there's
- 37:39one of those plus 4 USB type A ports.
- 37:43No, there's four. It's 4I.
- 37:44I wrote this confusingly, I'm an asshole.
- 37:48Performance capable of 64K60FPS gaming with FSR enabled and ray
- 37:55trace supported. Ray tracing supported.
- 37:57So I'm gonna be playing this at 1080P.
- 38:00Yes. Absolutely, I'm fine with that.
- 38:02This this, this should this shouldn't really go above 1080P.
- 38:07Like, yeah, it can probably do 4K on like an indie game.
- 38:12You could you could probably run this pushing like 1440P, but
- 38:17even then you might have to dumb down some settings.
- 38:19Like 1080P is going to be the sweet spot for this.
- 38:24I think that's. Fine.
- 38:25That's fine. That's that's totally
- 38:27respectable, dude. I, I for me, we'll get into the
- 38:30theories here in a minute. This is a great entry point for
- 38:34people who don't have a gaming PC depending on the price.
- 38:40And I think Valve learned, as you said, lessons here.
- 38:46And I don't think they're going to do what they did with the
- 38:48with the index. I just don't I don't.
- 38:50The index was I, I, I, I don't see it happening.
- 38:53The Index was far too great. Piece of tech, great headset,
- 38:57way too expensive. Way too expensive and and very
- 39:02early to half of the tech that was in there.
- 39:05So it makes sense why it was expensive, but also the timing
- 39:10was not great. Granted the index sold well,
- 39:13right? It did from from but it also.
- 39:14Had half life, Alex. Which certainly helps, right?
- 39:19Yeah, If I was going to buy AVR headset and wanted something
- 39:23that was going to be one of the best, I would get the Index,
- 39:26right? Like the Index still to this day
- 39:28is one of the powerhouse it. That the metaquest 3.
- 39:33I think it even surpasses the Metaquest 3.
- 39:37I think the metaquest 3 the only thing in it's corner is really
- 39:40the AR implementation, whereas the the yeah or.
- 39:47Sorry, I was thinking. Samsung maybe?
- 39:54No, no, no, I, I is the Oculus and Metaquest.
- 39:56Are those two different tiers or is that just a different name
- 40:00for the same thing because the Oculus?
- 40:02Same thing. OK, the Oculus is only like
- 40:05$300. Metaquest 3 I thought was 300
- 40:08bucks you know? That's what I'm saying, yeah.
- 40:11Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 40:12OK, OK. OK, I I couldn't remember.
- 40:13We're not. They change.
- 40:15Yeah, that we're not. But they also changed names in
- 40:18the middle of all of this shit. And I couldn't remember if that
- 40:20was part of the rebranding or whatever.
- 40:23Yeah. But regardless, that's like a
- 40:25three $350.00 headset, which is, I mean, the Index is still what,
- 40:31$999? A grand for everything.
- 40:34Yeah, it's a fucking brand. I I still think the index is far
- 40:39and away better than the Oculus 3, but the Oculus 3 has yeah,
- 40:43the controllers are a huge part of it, but the the Oculus has
- 40:46the AR pass through type shit. So it's cool in that regard.
- 40:51But also the Index came out before that was really a huge
- 40:54implementation into the VR space, so.
- 40:59But dude I can man I I I know I don't need it.
- 41:04I will be getting one of these though for my entertainment
- 41:06center. I'm going to grab a steam
- 41:08machine from This is for me, that's for my son, that's for my
- 41:11wife. It's going to be a blast.
- 41:12I have considered replacing So we have an Xbox, a series X and
- 41:20then we have the PlayStation five.
- 41:22I have considered. I cancelled it all game pass.
- 41:26I have no live functionality on the Xbox at this point.
- 41:30I have actually considered selling this at some point to
- 41:34maybe pick the this steam machine up because.
- 41:39That's awesome. Typically my oldest is the one
- 41:42that plays on the Xbox. He also has a Steam account, so
- 41:46he plays a lot of things through Steam on his own computer.
- 41:49But sometimes he wants to be out there and playing with his
- 41:53brother or friends or whatever it may be.
- 41:55So it's. Perfect.
- 41:57This is a good use case for me personally because he's also not
- 42:01a graphic snob by any means. Like he grew up in the age of
- 42:04Roblox and. There you go.
- 42:06Fortnite or Fortnite, right? So like Fortnite, Fortnite, but
- 42:12the, the, the Roblox, like they don't care about graphics in the
- 42:17same way that I feel like our generation did, because they
- 42:20don't, they don't. They weren't there for the huge
- 42:23jumps in graphics that we saw either.
- 42:26They weren't there for, you know, the PlayStation 1 graphics
- 42:30to PlayStation two to PlayStation 3, like how
- 42:33exponentially better it got with each generation.
- 42:37And now we've hit that kind of taper off point.
- 42:39So they're like, yeah, I don't know, man.
- 42:40It like it all kind of looks the same and you're like.
- 42:43But it doesn't show up. But I mean, right now his
- 42:48computer has like a 2060 in it, I think 2060 super, I think so.
- 42:55I mean, it's not amazing by today's standards, but it still
- 42:59holds its own. But I've never once heard him
- 43:02complain about graphics. Like I have thought about
- 43:04upgrading his graphics card but that's because me daddy, my
- 43:09brains like my brains like well if I give him my graphics card I
- 43:14can get. I have to get a new.
- 43:16One I have to get a new one. What do you want me to do?
- 43:19I know it was a grand and a half, but what did you want me
- 43:22to do? Yeah, right.
- 43:23What am I supposed to do? My hands were tied, the boys.
- 43:26Did for me. But I, I think that's a good use
- 43:30case for me personally of of utilizing that replacing the
- 43:33Xbox, selling the Xbox off. Granted I have a large library
- 43:38on Xbox because I was predominantly an Xbox gamer, but
- 43:41I also am not really going to go back to it.
- 43:43So I don't know man, this is cool.
- 43:48But again, the price point is going to be key here because
- 43:52this is a very introductory level PC in a nice form factor
- 44:01that is going to run Linux and Steam OS, and so that makes it
- 44:06finicky in some regard. Where it is not, it is not
- 44:10going, especially if you throw it under ATV, it's not going to
- 44:13be nearly as accessible or easy to fuck with as sitting here at
- 44:18my computer where I have three monitors and can fuck with
- 44:21everything I want to at any given time.
- 44:23If you want to boot into Windows, so be it, but I don't
- 44:26think that's the best use case for this.
- 44:28I think using Steam big screen mode is going to be best
- 44:33utilizing the Steam OS in the the way that it is designed to
- 44:37function. The moment you add a Windows
- 44:40layer in there and do something different, you're going to run
- 44:43into different problems. Things that are going to be
- 44:47verified in theory should run well.
- 44:50Granted, their Deck fair verified has kind of been a
- 44:53little hit or miss sometimes, but I think utilizing this out
- 44:58the box the way it is is going to be great.
- 45:01This would also make a great emulator machine.
- 45:04I'm just. Saying it would.
- 45:05It absolutely would. It would make an incredible.
- 45:09This thing. Incredible emulator.
- 45:11Machine, the different things that people are going to be able
- 45:13to do with this is awesome and I cannot wait to see the minute
- 45:18this thing goes gets to the public, it's immediately people
- 45:21are like, yeah, if you do this and this and this, this is what
- 45:24you could do on it and everyone's gonna go cool, I'm
- 45:27in. And half of that groundwork is
- 45:29already done, right? Like it's it's already on the
- 45:31Steam Deck. And they already have a way they
- 45:34love. Valve wants you to do this.
- 45:35Oh, absolutely. That's.
- 45:37I don't beauty. I don't think Valve would be
- 45:39like, hey, go out and emulate, but you know, they don't.
- 45:42They don't give a fuck. They're not going to publicly be
- 45:45like, hey, by the way, you can. Play did it, whatever I guess.
- 45:49You could play Majora's Mask on this if you wanted to, but we
- 45:53didn't tell you that. Wink wink, no, this is great.
- 45:56This gets 2 giant thumbs up and I will be an early adopter
- 45:59probably the minute I can purchase it.
- 46:01I'm going to be purchasing this. Not a single person is surprised
- 46:04by that. No, you shouldn't be.
- 46:06So my thing is this, if this is being treated as a console, we
- 46:13don't have a game for it yet. And I think it's Valve.
- 46:17No, listen, like, but how smart? How smart would this be?
- 46:21You haven't announced the price point for any of this.
- 46:26The smartest thing to do here is to when you announce the price
- 46:30point and be like, Oh yeah, by the way, boom.
- 46:34This is if you if you don't have APC that you can only play half
- 46:39life whatever on PC and or the Steam machine.
- 46:44Therefore, if you don't have APC you want to get in this thing
- 46:47will cost $500. Let's say 500 bucks for the
- 46:50steam machine seven 5800 for the two terabyte that is.
- 46:58And you say you can play half Life 3 on this day one it
- 47:03releases if you don't have a computer, this thing, Brody will
- 47:09not be able you will not be able to buy this.
- 47:13This would that would be the craziest move they could do.
- 47:17This would sell get you would not be able to buy this thing.
- 47:19No, you wouldn't. You're, you're not wrong, right?
- 47:23I like I I I fully understand. They haven't announced the price
- 47:27for any of it. They haven't announced a price.
- 47:31I think 500 is definitely that sweet spot for the, the, the
- 47:36lower storage count the the 516 or whatever it was Five 12512
- 47:42yeah, sorry, but yeah, I, I, I think you're looking at 6:50 at
- 47:49the very least for the two terabyte, probably closer to
- 47:51700. I don't.
- 47:53Have a problem with that? My only problem with it is the
- 47:58fact that you could probably buy storage yourself and do it
- 48:01cheaper, right? Like so.
- 48:03I was that's I'm not getting the two terabyte because that's what
- 48:06I'm going to be doing. Yeah, especially if it has an
- 48:08m.twoslotgetafucking2ter. You could throw micro SD cards
- 48:11in that bitch too. Yeah, and external hard drives,
- 48:14like there's so many options here.
- 48:17But for the people who are not incredibly tech savvy and don't
- 48:21want to fuck with it, they're just going to buy the two
- 48:23terabyte and call it a day, right?
- 48:24Like they're going to have all of the storage that they not
- 48:28necessarily could ever want, but a good amount of it.
- 48:32Like that's good storage. You could even, I mean, you
- 48:35could even do external m.twos, right?
- 48:38Like there's external SSDs, there's external like housings
- 48:42for m.two if you really wanted to.
- 48:44Like there's options here that you could really get this to a
- 48:49decent point with probably better storage all things
- 48:53considered right? Like you could buy Samsung what
- 48:57990 or whatever the fuck for? Throw some evos in this bitch,
- 49:00you're good dude. Yeah, right.
- 49:02Like I, I, I would also buy the, the the bare minimum of this if
- 49:09I do end up making this purchase and just upgrading it myself
- 49:13over time, right? Like 5-5 twelves fine for a
- 49:17little bit, not very long, especially, you know, games just
- 49:20keep getting bigger as graphics keep getting more intense.
- 49:23And but yeah, there's, there's so many options, so many things
- 49:29you can do with this, like. Replaceable face plates.
- 49:32My fucking tinkering brain is like salivating over the idea of
- 49:37having another one. Dude, I, I, I enjoy tinkering
- 49:41like it's my favorite thing to do.
- 49:43I spend more time tinkering with bullshit than I do actually
- 49:46playing games anymore. And this is like right up my
- 49:51alley. Something I would absolutely
- 49:53pick up and just tinker with and tinker with and tinker with and
- 49:56probably never actually play a game on it.
- 49:58Just keep tinkering with it until my little fucking that
- 50:02that part of my brain is satisfied.
- 50:04Yeah. And then I'd be like, oh, I'm
- 50:06just, yeah, exactly right. I, I do it with my steam Deck.
- 50:10I, I fucking did it with APS Vita.
- 50:13I did it with a Nintendo 2DS. Like I saw I have a whole PC
- 50:17that is dedicated to tinkering and things.
- 50:21We will not name on this podcast cool things, but like, God, it's
- 50:30so cool. Good thing it's not released yet
- 50:32because then we'd get drunk and buy one, huh?
- 50:35Yeah. Wait for that night.
- 50:37Well, I guarantee we'll be recording.
- 50:39Yeah, you're fuck. It's always your fault.
- 50:44It's your fault. It's a cool it it the thing also
- 50:47is this thing looks we need to get into the other topics or the
- 50:50other, Yeah. Hardworks.
- 50:51There's more. But this thing is sleek, and
- 50:56we've already seen what D Brand is going to be doing.
- 51:01Yeah, yes. This was made to be a Companion
- 51:03Cube bro. The companion cube thing is cool
- 51:07as shit. I'm I'm not even like a big like
- 51:10I I like portal right for sure, but I I'm not a valve die hard
- 51:15like you. That companion cube is so
- 51:18fucking cool and it was just begging to be it right?
- 51:23Like they they designed a 6 by 6 cube and you're like the first
- 51:28thing anyone that loves Valve is going to think is like, hey, I
- 51:32got an idea. Companion Cube for sure.
- 51:38Fuck Valve, you done it again. And I'm going, I, I didn't
- 51:43really talk on it before we branch off here, the the half
- 51:48life three thing is like perfect.
- 51:50It is. It is so fucking perfect.
- 51:52I, I don't want to give you that because I also still stand by
- 51:56the fact that I don't know if it will ever come out, But if it is
- 52:01going to come out, this would be the time because it makes way
- 52:05too much sense. It prints money, all of the the
- 52:09the the loss that you're taking on this thing.
- 52:12You're going to make that like that instantly gone fucking for
- 52:16the for the lifespan of this console, because everyone's
- 52:19going to buy this, they're going to buy the the two terabyte,
- 52:21which you're going to make more money on because of the storage
- 52:23you're putting in. There is not going to be
- 52:25anything crazy, but you can charge $200 extra for fucking
- 52:29four times the storage, right? But oh man, yeah, if it's going
- 52:35to happen, this seems like the logical time to do it.
- 52:39I will give you that. I will give you nothing more,
- 52:43nothing more. But you get that it.
- 52:45Feels good. It feels good.
- 52:47So there's no prices on Andy's and we don't have the book yet.
- 52:51Yeah, it hasn't been released either.
- 52:52So this is looking if you are a Half Life fan just and a lot of
- 52:58the leakers who leaked this are saying wait until the 18th.
- 53:00Everybody and I went. What's happening on the 18th,
- 53:06please tell me. I don't have any good friends in
- 53:09high places though so we don't know, but stay tuned.
- 53:13We'll be staying tuned. It's like cockering that can
- 53:15sync to your Steam Machine. Totally fine.
- 53:22Anyways, haptic feedback. So we also had we also had the
- 53:27Steam frame. This is a very nice small form
- 53:31factor VR Google headset thing and it looks nice and it sure as
- 53:37fuck seems to be playing nice as well.
- 53:41You've done it again. This thing is wild.
- 53:44I, I don't have a ton to say about this just because I'm not
- 53:47AVR guy. I don't keep up on VR for the
- 53:49most part of what's going on in that that land.
- 53:52Just be quicker. I, I do think this looks really
- 53:56cool, what they're implementing here.
- 53:57The tech behind it is very incredible, but it it comes
- 54:04back. To what do you what do you buy
- 54:05this for? If you if if, if the if the
- 54:08price is right for you. So I'm I'm thinking this will be
- 54:10350. I, I think it has to be below,
- 54:15it has to be below 500. It has to I not for me
- 54:19personally. All right, like I, I have a
- 54:21quest to my kids are OK with that.
- 54:25We bought it right as the quest 3 was coming out type of thing.
- 54:28And it's like fuck, but I, I, I will not be buying this.
- 54:36I I can guarantee that this is not.
- 54:38Going even for the right price. No, no, I, I I'm VR also makes
- 54:43me nauseous. I can't do VR.
- 54:46I have tried. I can do things like beat Saber
- 54:50and shit where you're mostly stationary and moving like side
- 54:53to side. I tried playing bone labs.
- 54:58I thought I was going to die. It was bad.
- 55:01I, I genuinely thought I was, I, I thought I was going to run to
- 55:05the bathroom in puke. VR is not for me.
- 55:11I, I enjoy the tech. I enjoy what they're doing
- 55:14there. I think it's cool.
- 55:15I have hopped in occasionally here and there.
- 55:18I picked up that Wrath of the Gods or whatever it was.
- 55:25Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I picked that up.
- 55:27I have not played it and I fucking hate that I have not
- 55:30played it. But VR is just never the thing
- 55:34when at the end of my day I want to sit down and play something.
- 55:38I never am like hey I want to play VR right?
- 55:41I'm fucking tired. I want to sit at a in my nice
- 55:45comfy chair. I want to play a game on my PC
- 55:47and call it a date, or I'll sit on a couch and play my Switch,
- 55:52or, you know, sit on on our chase lounges and play fucking
- 55:56PlayStation or whatever it may be.
- 55:58I want to sit down, I want to relax.
- 56:00VR is just not my thing. I enjoy what they're doing with
- 56:04it. I really hope VR takes off at
- 56:06some point because it just seems like it has been in this weird
- 56:09stagnant space where you either. It reminds me almost of the
- 56:17cloud gaming type thing where it's like if you're into cloud
- 56:21gaming, you're really into it. If you're into VR, you're really
- 56:25into it. It seems like there's not a lot
- 56:27of space for in between. The PSVR 2 came out, it fucking
- 56:31sucked. There was nothing.
- 56:32For it flopped. It flopped so goddamn hard.
- 56:36I I think this will do better because obviously they have the
- 56:40Steam store behind it, so they have so many more options.
- 56:43I mean, you can use this just as a screen and sit there and play
- 56:47a game with this fucking thing on your head, right?
- 56:49So it has so much more options behind it.
- 56:54I think this will do well with people who are into VR.
- 56:58I am not I will and they are right, like especially because
- 57:02that's the biggest thing right now.
- 57:03Everybody is developing something for AR where it's
- 57:07like, oh, well, you can model your house and walk around your
- 57:10house and kill zombies or whatever it may be, which is
- 57:13it's cool, right? It's a it's a cool novelty.
- 57:16I feel like AR would probably make me less nauseous for sure,
- 57:22but this is this is not my thing by any means.
- 57:26I think it's really cool. I think the tech that is here is
- 57:28very awesome. But it cannot be $1000.
- 57:32It cannot be. It has.
- 57:33To be dead on arrival of a grand.
- 57:35It it has to be below $500 or right at and even that I think
- 57:40is I think at that point still I think the 404 fifty mark is
- 57:46going to be a lot better. I think it will perform better
- 57:49than anything we have in that price range currently.
- 57:54But it has to be cheap. It has cheap in the grand scheme
- 57:59of things, right like in in the current landscape we live in
- 58:02$500 is not cheap. But I think for this to ex to
- 58:10perform the way they want it to, it needs to be below that point.
- 58:15It absolutely does. And I think one of the coolest
- 58:18features it is toting, touting toting is that it is modular.
- 58:24So we have caught snippets that there are other like US, like
- 58:29extensions that are like right under the nose piece type thing.
- 58:32You could take the entire front Google off, leading me to
- 58:36believe that there's going to be other modules eventually down
- 58:39the road. That is interesting because that
- 58:42module that you pull off is a computer in and of itself, it's
- 58:47a computer. With that being said, this has a
- 58:50Snapdragon 8 Gen. 3 with ARM 64 as a processor, 16 gigabyte
- 58:57unified LPDDLP DDR5X RAM storage, either 256 gigabyte or
- 59:09one terabyte. This is for your headset.
- 59:12A more reasonable jump, which 512 is a lot for a headset.
- 59:17Those games are typically not very big.
- 59:21Nope. So this is pretty cool.
- 59:23The weight is 190 grams for the core module, 435g total with
- 59:29head strap and battery. The battery I've heard evens the
- 59:32whole thing out yeah, these these measurements could be
- 59:36wrong by the way, So if I'm wrong, please let me know the
- 59:41battery life. I think somewhere I've heard
- 59:43along the four hour mark to like the one hour mark that's.
- 59:47Flowing for VR? Exactly for.
- 59:50VR. This connects via Wi-Fi and
- 59:53Bluetooth. It's great there.
- 59:55This is wireless and the pass through is mono as compared to
- 1:00:00Quest 3's color pass through. From which people were saying
- 1:00:04well, that's a bit of a hit, but also other people are going no,
- 1:00:07this is very smart that they're doing it this way.
- 1:00:11It's a cool piece of tech. This is something if the price
- 1:00:13is right, I will get it. I do like to fuck around in VR
- 1:00:17and I think this would be fun again for my son and I do want
- 1:00:21to play the Deadpool game. I really, even though I think
- 1:00:24it's a quest three thing, but whatever it's cool.
- 1:00:28This is great. We all knew that the deckard was
- 1:00:30coming. Now we know that it's called the
- 1:00:31Steam Frame. And if you like VR, this is your
- 1:00:35this is your cup of tea. This is absolutely what you
- 1:00:37wanna get. Yeah.
- 1:00:39Moving on to our last bit of hardware, and then we're gonna
- 1:00:43close up the show. The Steam Controller.
- 1:00:46It's their second time making a controller.
- 1:00:48The first controller ended up being sold for a buck with the
- 1:00:51Steam Link. That's how bad it did.
- 1:00:55But I will say this looks like someone took a Steam Deck, cut
- 1:00:59it in half and squished it together and now you have the
- 1:01:02Steam controller. I don't hate it.
- 1:01:04I it reminds me of Duke a little bit.
- 1:01:08I I'm never going to use those track pads.
- 1:01:11The rest of the controller is awesome in my opinion, but I'm
- 1:01:16going to be getting it. I know you would.
- 1:01:19Honestly. I actually told Amber the day
- 1:01:21this came out. So yesterday we were actually
- 1:01:25out for our anniversary. But I'm falling follow.
- 1:01:30Thank you. I was following her around a
- 1:01:32store staring at my phone reading about all of this as it
- 1:01:36was coming out. And I was like, man, I don't, I
- 1:01:40don't know about this. And was like showing her
- 1:01:43pictures like she gave a fuck. And I know she doesn't, but she
- 1:01:46she, she plays it well. Kelly I Amber.
- 1:01:49Yeah, but I was like, man, this seems like the kind of thing
- 1:01:54like, I'm going to wait for Nick to buy it because I know Nick is
- 1:01:58going to buy it. I'm going to try his and then I
- 1:02:02might pick it up because I to me this seems horribly
- 1:02:06uncomfortable. Also, I am not a fan of the
- 1:02:09track pads. I understand a lot of people
- 1:02:12never love them. I don't use them on the deck
- 1:02:15unless I have to, which has been very few and far between.
- 1:02:20Like a quick thing when I boot into desktop mode to do
- 1:02:25something in Linux. I hate using them.
- 1:02:27I I I don't care for it. Every time I go to click on
- 1:02:31something I end up fucking moving my cursor.
- 1:02:34I don't like it. To me I I know some people have
- 1:02:38found great use for these. They enjoy them.
- 1:02:41It is closer to that function of like a mouse.
- 1:02:45I don't like them, it's not my thing.
- 1:02:48I also don't like track pads on laptops.
- 1:02:50Like give me a fucking. That being said, I do know the
- 1:02:58quality of Steam's hardware. I I know this is going to be
- 1:03:04probably a fantastic controller. It doesn't look nearly as big as
- 1:03:09what it initially seems, especially when you see it by
- 1:03:12itself. There's a picture I'm looking at
- 1:03:15currently where there's actually someone holding this thing.
- 1:03:18It seems to be almost the same size as like an 8 bit DOE
- 1:03:22controller but with. Track.
- 1:03:24Track track pads on the bottom. Like it's not a a sizable
- 1:03:28controller by any means. Like probably a little bit
- 1:03:31smaller than even a Xbox controller.
- 1:03:34It just looks like a Duke. It's chunky, right?
- 1:03:40I don't love the symmetrical joysticks in the center of this
- 1:03:46thing. It seems weird.
- 1:03:47It seems like an ergonomical fucking nightmare, especially if
- 1:03:51the track pads are actually functioning.
- 1:03:53I feel like I would rest the the the fucking butt of my hand on
- 1:03:58it. Right.
- 1:03:59And accidentally. I'm disabling those.
- 1:04:01I'm disabling them immediately. I I wish they offered one that
- 1:04:07didn't have track. Yeah, right.
- 1:04:09Like give me, give me a Steam Controller that doesn't have
- 1:04:13track pads. I understand that's a whole
- 1:04:15nother skew. I understand it's a whole
- 1:04:19different thing. We get it, I don't.
- 1:04:21But but I, I, I feel like I you and I cannot be alone in this
- 1:04:27and believing like hey, I don't want the fucking track pads.
- 1:04:30Is, is there an option, is there an option to have a, a steam
- 1:04:35made controller, a valve made controller that is without this
- 1:04:42like something that I, I, I trust your hardware, I trust
- 1:04:46what you're doing here, but. I know this shit.
- 1:04:50Yeah, like I, I, I know this is going to be a great controller,
- 1:04:53but it's not for me. And it's unfortunate because I
- 1:04:56really want to buy this. Like everything in my brain, the
- 1:04:59moment I saw it, I go, I hate that, but I want it.
- 1:05:03I'm getting it. I, I, I have.
- 1:05:05Let's see, for the audience, let me pull this boy out.
- 1:05:10It's it, it's unfortunate to me personally, Right?
- 1:05:14Like how many times have you used that?
- 1:05:18This is for show. Exactly I.
- 1:05:21But I did attempt to use this when I first got it and I hated
- 1:05:27every second of it. But you can see the humble
- 1:05:31beginnings here, right? Like this is pretty neat to see
- 1:05:34where we're at now. And even back then, these were
- 1:05:37track pads. Like this is the it's all.
- 1:05:39Track. So like I mean and their
- 1:05:43controller does. I think this fit nice as well in
- 1:05:46my hands. Like I just the buttons down
- 1:05:50here really pissed me off, but this is cool.
- 1:05:52This is cool. Yeah, but you're spot on with
- 1:05:55your take on they essentially cut a Steam Deck in half and
- 1:05:59fucking smash that together and then slightly skewed, slightly
- 1:06:03skewed the track pads a little bit.
- 1:06:05I will say the track pads don't like cause me any grief
- 1:06:08necessarily on the Steam Deck. Yeah, but I also would be
- 1:06:13perfectly OK if they weren't there.
- 1:06:15Yeah, I would be too. If if I have to plug a fucking
- 1:06:19USB hub into it and get a mouse and everything like that's my go
- 1:06:22to if I have to do quite a few things in the in the desktop
- 1:06:26mode anyway, I would prefer that.
- 1:06:29I fuck man, I don't know this this controller seems really
- 1:06:34cool and I'm sure people are going to fucking love it.
- 1:06:37Especially like, yeah, and I probably will too.
- 1:06:42And then I'm going to be like, this fucking thing is going to
- 1:06:45sit here and gather dust because I just don't like the ergonomics
- 1:06:49of it. But God damn it, like it's kind
- 1:06:53of cool. That's the beauty behind a lot
- 1:06:58of this is like you look at something like this you're like,
- 1:07:00I don't know if I'm going to like it and then you get it and
- 1:07:02you're I guarantee every neurons going to go Yep that's cool
- 1:07:06minus this one these two features.
- 1:07:08But a lot of this is I should mention really quick because
- 1:07:12we're at a cap off here in a minute, but like after we some
- 1:07:15facts and wrap up conversation. But the steam frame is connected
- 1:07:20with a dongle by the way Yeah this thing just you plug it in
- 1:07:24you plug the dongle in you got VR.
- 1:07:27That's incredible yeah. So I.
- 1:07:30Assume it's probably using like 2.4 right?
- 1:07:34I believe so. What the?
- 1:07:35Dongle's actually using. I mean that would be my guess
- 1:07:37based on how most of that kind of shit works.
- 1:07:40I mean this is 2.4 like. This is 2 point 2.4 on valves,
- 1:07:50the included plug and play 6 Hertz, 6 gigahertz wireless
- 1:07:54adapter. OK.
- 1:07:57Provides A dedicated link for both VR and non VR streaming.
- 1:08:02Steam frames. Dual radios make this connection
- 1:08:05even more stable. One radio is dedicated to
- 1:08:07streaming the audio and visuals and the other connects to your
- 1:08:11Wi-Fi. 2 dedicated links. No competition with for
- 1:08:14bandwidth. That's awesome.
- 1:08:17Like that. That's just fucking.
- 1:08:20It's fantastic. I.
- 1:08:22It's so good. Like I.
- 1:08:23You got me in a box, man. Yeah, you got me in a fucking
- 1:08:26box. I'm still not going to buy it,
- 1:08:28but I it's fucking cool. This is great with the.
- 1:08:31Controller though, yeah, the puck.
- 1:08:36Did you see the puck? I don't know if I did see the
- 1:08:39puck. I I again, I was walking around
- 1:08:42Ulta at the time I was looking at this, following around my
- 1:08:45wife looking for her feet as I was staring at my phone like a
- 1:08:50good husband on his anniversary. God damn right.
- 1:08:54So the pluck the puck got the pluck the puck is a So this is
- 1:09:00from valve plug and play with the Steam Deck controller 1 puck
- 1:09:042 jobs. It's a wireless transmitter that
- 1:09:06provides a fast, stable connection for your Steam
- 1:09:09Controller. It's also a charging station,
- 1:09:12connecting to your controller magnetically with a satisfying
- 1:09:15click. Prefer using Bluetooth or USB.
- 1:09:18Steam Controller support supports those two.
- 1:09:21That's and it comes with the controller.
- 1:09:23It's being sold with the controller.
- 1:09:26That's that's really good, but the problem is that's gonna
- 1:09:30drive this cost to like 120 bucks.
- 1:09:34I'm thinking around the 80 to $100.
- 1:09:38With the puck, I bet it it's gonna clear 100 for sure.
- 1:09:43There's no way. Buying it so.
- 1:09:45I know you. Some Key Features Some Key
- 1:09:48Features Next generation magnetic thumbsticks High
- 1:09:52definition rumble Steam Controllers Powerful motors are
- 1:09:55capable of handling complex waveforms for immersive,
- 1:09:58accurate haptics. The sex game community is about
- 1:10:05to have a great time. Fuck yeah you're right.
- 1:10:12I feel like if you buy the steam machine this is a fucking no
- 1:10:16brainer. Especially with with the option
- 1:10:20to boot into Linux having the track pads here it saves you
- 1:10:24having to have a mouse and a keyboard or something of that
- 1:10:27nature. Like I feel like this is a
- 1:10:29absolute no brainer if you get the the steam machine.
- 1:10:34If you are not getting the steam machine and you were going to
- 1:10:37use this on your PC it's still a a probably a damn good
- 1:10:42controller. That being said, my taste over
- 1:10:46the years has always been the asymmetrical Xbox controller
- 1:10:51Like this. This is my fucking go to 100% of
- 1:10:55the time. Yeah, like even if Xbox goes
- 1:11:00under, I hope they keep selling controllers because yes, I have
- 1:11:04never been able to find a controller that feels as good to
- 1:11:07me personally. Always fit great in my end.
- 1:11:10I, I, I played through the, the, the fucking Duke and I, I, I had
- 1:11:17yeah, yeah, it had its place, right?
- 1:11:20But like the, the 360 controller was always good to me and I, I
- 1:11:24was like, how do you they ever expand upon this?
- 1:11:26And then they did the, the the Xbox One version of it.
- 1:11:30I was like, yeah, this is my go to.
- 1:11:32And then they did the Series X and I, I, I'm sorry, I don't
- 1:11:37know how you ever beat this controller in my mind, if you
- 1:11:39were a PlayStation kid, I understand you like the
- 1:11:41symmetrical sticks, you're a psycho, whatever.
- 1:11:45But this is by far in a way my favorite controller and it
- 1:11:49always will be Like I, I don't know how you beat this at this
- 1:11:53point. It's a perfect form factor for
- 1:11:54me. Everything about it is great in
- 1:11:57my mind. If anything, the connectivity is
- 1:12:01a little rocky at best. Yeah.
- 1:12:03So that is kind of why I would look at something like this,
- 1:12:06this Steam Controller, as being something that makes sense
- 1:12:10because it is going to function almost perfectly with whatever
- 1:12:15you want to use it with almost perfectly.
- 1:12:17And you can plug and play that shit, right?
- 1:12:19Like you can grab the dongle, plug it into whatever you want
- 1:12:22to use it on, and you're done. Like.
- 1:12:25When you're done playing, you just plug it into the puck.
- 1:12:28Which is. Have you heard?
- 1:12:29Have you heard the clicks yet? Have you heard the clicks?
- 1:12:32No, I didn't even know the video thing.
- 1:12:35I'll show you the video after this it also but that's not all
- 1:12:38because they also have grip enabled gyro.
- 1:12:42We're calling it Gripsense and it's a new input for Steam
- 1:12:45Controller that enables gyro with.
- 1:12:48I'm surprised they got to it before before pornhub did touch.
- 1:12:52Yeah, I know. Hold, hold and Release to enable
- 1:12:55and disable gyro aiming. That's great.
- 1:12:59Yeah. You can also map it like any
- 1:13:01other button. Which is fucking cool.
- 1:13:05Yeah, God damn it, this is a cool controller.
- 1:13:07It's really. Cool control steam button, quick
- 1:13:11access, customizable for steam inputs.
- 1:13:16Controller plays well wherever steam is, so however it just it
- 1:13:22just connects so the. Crazy thing about all of this to
- 1:13:27me, the so obviously the Steam Machine we talked a lot about,
- 1:13:32right? And I don't necessarily want to
- 1:13:34go all the way back to that, but I am going to a little bit.
- 1:13:38They beat Xbox to the punch. Big time, And Phil Spencer
- 1:13:43tweeted. I was like, yay, Steve, thank
- 1:13:46you. But I went deep down, he's going
- 1:13:49fuck. Like the the the way they have
- 1:13:53been talking about this next Xbox, everyone has been
- 1:13:55speculating that it is. Just going to be.
- 1:13:58It was either going to be a Steam machine or it was going to
- 1:14:02be a mid tier PC and an Xbox form factor of some sort, right?
- 1:14:08I think they would blow it too by selling it for way too much.
- 1:14:11Absolutely, absolutely. Like when you cross that
- 1:14:16threshold of being able to build a proper PC for the same price
- 1:14:21or less with better specs, you're fucked.
- 1:14:24I understand like console gaming is its own thing but that is
- 1:14:28kind of going by the wayside. Like I feel like a lot more
- 1:14:32people are switching over to PC and maybe PlayStation to play
- 1:14:36some some very specific. Party.
- 1:14:40And yeah, or yeah, first party games or, you know, maybe even
- 1:14:44adding a Switch into the equation or replace PlayStation
- 1:14:47with Switch, whatever it may be, right?
- 1:14:49But I feel like a lot more people are starting to trend
- 1:14:52towards PC. And I feel like Xbox knew that.
- 1:14:56And they've also, you know, kind of butchered everything they've
- 1:14:59done for the last decade. I think that Xbox was going to
- 1:15:07do APC, and I think they still will.
- 1:15:10But the problem is now you have Valve.
- 1:15:12Valve enters into this equation and goes, yeah, you know, I
- 1:15:17understand you have a storefront on PC, but fucking plop their
- 1:15:21gigantic horse cock onto the table and go, yeah, that's cool,
- 1:15:26dude. And then I imagine they're going
- 1:15:30to release another version of this that is better, bigger,
- 1:15:34more powerful, and it keeps up with a mid tier PC and is going
- 1:15:41to be able to do everything that the consoles do and more.
- 1:15:45And they're going to be like, yeah, this one's going to be
- 1:15:48more expensive. It's going to be 1200, fifteen,
- 1:15:50$100, but it's a console and APC in one, and it can do more.
- 1:15:57Play Half Life 3 on it. And you play Half Life 3 on it.
- 1:16:00Like it's not going to be right away, but I bet three years down
- 1:16:03the road we get that version of this.
- 1:16:06And Steam has now gathered all of all of the people who are
- 1:16:10console fanboys. And they said, hey, you guys
- 1:16:13were fighting over Xbox or PlayStation.
- 1:16:15They're like, I'll do you one. Try this, try Steam.
- 1:16:19People switch over to Steam. They enjoy it.
- 1:16:22But yeah, eventually they're like, yeah, the power is not
- 1:16:24great. Like, I'd like a little bit
- 1:16:26more. And they go, I got you, Boo.
- 1:16:29I got you, Boo. And they're like Xbox or
- 1:16:32Microsoft too, like or Microsoft or PlayStation who, what are we?
- 1:16:36What are we doing here? Like.
- 1:16:38And they'll always be playing, playing catch up.
- 1:16:40They'll always be playing catch up.
- 1:16:42Now that they are entering into the landscape of being able to
- 1:16:45be played on your TV at home, everyone should.
- 1:16:51Every console except for Nintendo.
- 1:16:52Because they're fucking. They don't care.
- 1:16:54They're. Doing they don't think they
- 1:16:56don't give up on. The back of the classroom.
- 1:16:57We've talked about it many a times.
- 1:16:58They're in the sandbox, in the corner by themselves, fucking.
- 1:17:02They're doing their own thing. They're going to be a OK.
- 1:17:04This released and Nintendo went. That's neat.
- 1:17:08That's. Cool anyways.
- 1:17:10Back to work. Cool, but PlayStation and Xbox
- 1:17:14should be worried. PlayStation, the only thing they
- 1:17:18have had for so long is their first party games.
- 1:17:22How long is that going to last? How many people?
- 1:17:25Not longer because they're on X or on PC.
- 1:17:28Yeah, it takes a lot of a Steam machine.
- 1:17:31Yeah, it takes a little bit for them to get there, but they're
- 1:17:35going to. I would assume they're going to
- 1:17:37start getting a little bit more frequent with that.
- 1:17:40Our two major console developers are going to start getting their
- 1:17:43shit out other places because software is where they make
- 1:17:46their money and out their fucking hardware.
- 1:17:48Yeah, they don't want to pay the 30% to Steam, but what are you
- 1:17:54going to do? I honestly I, I I don't see a
- 1:18:00world where if Steam continues this and puts out better
- 1:18:04versions of this or releases their OS where you can put it on
- 1:18:09to things more. Easily, they're thinking it's
- 1:18:12happening. Yeah, which is been a rumor for
- 1:18:15a while, which I don't understand why they wouldn't
- 1:18:17right the moment that happens. Oh fuck.
- 1:18:23Like I honestly just with this announcement alone if it is
- 1:18:26slightly underpowered compared to an Xbox or a PlayStation
- 1:18:30five. Oh fuck, and if I'm Sony and
- 1:18:34I've released like 5 first party games this year or sorry not
- 1:18:40even this year over the last four years.
- 1:18:42Oh fuck. Are you telling me that Gabe
- 1:18:45Newell and his team have just been going?
- 1:18:47You want to do that thing? That's what happens at how they
- 1:18:52go. You know, that thing we tried.
- 1:18:55Let's like, do that and they go, yeah, we'll, yeah, we'll
- 1:18:58prototype it. If it it's cool, we'll release
- 1:19:01it. And then they went, all right,
- 1:19:03yeah, let's get some testers here because last a month and a
- 1:19:06half ago, remember I said there was all those testers going to
- 1:19:08Valve and everyone's like, no, they aren't.
- 1:19:09Yes, they were. So you're telling me that while
- 1:19:13the council war was going on and it ended quote UN quote, Valve
- 1:19:18would Yeah, but we win anyways. And Sony and Microsoft, What do
- 1:19:23you mean? And they went, well, we win and
- 1:19:25they go, what do you mean you win?
- 1:19:27Valve goes, Oh yeah, here's our stuff.
- 1:19:29And they went fuck, they're going God damn it.
- 1:19:35When the best first party game you released was either Astrobot
- 1:19:39or Ratchet, Clank or Ratchet and Clank.
- 1:19:42And Xbox has been floundering almost Ubisoft style for the
- 1:19:47last four or five years, 10 years, actually.
- 1:19:52Yeah. And Valve can literally just
- 1:19:54swoop in, be like, yeah, we're going to release like a low
- 1:19:56level PC for like, I don't know, $500?
- 1:20:00You can buy into the Steam ecosystem.
- 1:20:02It works with this really cool fucking VR headset we put out.
- 1:20:06We're also releasing a really badass controller, by the way.
- 1:20:09In a couple years, we're probably going to update this
- 1:20:12and it's going to be a little bit bigger.
- 1:20:13Like I understand 6 by 6 is really convenient, but what if
- 1:20:16we want like, I don't know, 10 by 10?
- 1:20:19And now we can put this gigantic fucking specialty GPU in this
- 1:20:25and more RAM when the price of RAM finally drops, because it's
- 1:20:29insane right now. But also they're like, yeah,
- 1:20:32we're going to sell that at a little bit of a of a.
- 1:20:34Did we mention Half Life 3 finally out?
- 1:20:36You played here, by the way, and they're just fucking.
- 1:20:42Yeah, yeah, dude, you could. Gordon's Adventure right there.
- 1:20:46You could do that. Oh, you want to play it in AR?
- 1:20:50Yeah, just buy this. And then you could sit in your
- 1:20:52chair with the Steam Controller. Valve it is crazy man it's like
- 1:21:01they're so stressful. This was the most big Dick
- 1:21:04fucking move to just announce it out of nowhere.
- 1:21:08GTA gets delayed and if they do half life next.
- 1:21:11Week. If they do Half Life next week
- 1:21:15after all of this and GTA was delayed and Half Life's going to
- 1:21:19release early next year, that's bad for everybody.
- 1:21:25I I, I I. Good for us.
- 1:21:28I'm I'm not, I'm still very much of the camp.
- 1:21:31I don't know if it's going to happen.
- 1:21:33I I do think there will be something half life related
- 1:21:37around launch. I don't know if it'll be half
- 1:21:39life 3. I think it could be like a half
- 1:21:41life Alex type of thing, right? Not necessarily VR, but like I
- 1:21:47some sort of experience in the Half Life universe.
- 1:21:50So they did say they are not working on AVR title.
- 1:21:53Yeah, I don't think they'll. Specify that.
- 1:21:55I, I, I think this will absolutely be something that can
- 1:21:58be played on the Steam Machine, right?
- 1:22:01I, I don't know if it'll be Half Life 3 again.
- 1:22:05I think that is just in such a weird spot at this point that
- 1:22:08it's like, what the fuck do you do?
- 1:22:10This game has to be perfect, has to be perfect.
- 1:22:14And that's a very difficult thing to do.
- 1:22:17They're teaming up so good with this though.
- 1:22:19They. They are.
- 1:22:20They absolutely are. I I fully expect something
- 1:22:23something Half Life related to come out alongside this.
- 1:22:27I fully expect a announcement before the end of the year.
- 1:22:30Yes. Something.
- 1:22:32But my God, Valve, Steam, however you want to look at it,
- 1:22:37just what the fuck, man? They they.
- 1:22:41This is huge. They potentially blew up
- 1:22:44everything going on in the industry in a blog post.
- 1:22:49Not even a Twitter post. A Twitter fucking post.
- 1:22:52Yeah, like meanwhile, Nintendo is having a full Nintendo Direct
- 1:22:58for the next Super Mario movie. Steam just goes.
- 1:23:04It'll get where it needs to go. And Early 20 Q 1/20/26.
- 1:23:09Yeah, it it's already ready to go.
- 1:23:11They already have most of their they have most of their stocks
- 1:23:15sitting in a warehouse currently.
- 1:23:17This shit has been moving for fucking years and years and
- 1:23:21years. They have been receiving shit
- 1:23:23probably since like March and it's been sitting in a fucking
- 1:23:28warehouse and they're going just watching everybody else fucking
- 1:23:33do their thing again. Nintendo's the weird kid in the
- 1:23:36corner, but fucking putting that shit out there doing crazy
- 1:23:41things. PlayStation 5 is the fastest
- 1:23:44selling console of all time right now, and Steam goes.
- 1:23:48We'll see. That's cool.
- 1:23:50Yeah, well, all right. Yeah, check this out.
- 1:23:52I have no use for this thing and I'm still like but what if I
- 1:23:56replace my Xbox with it? This is going to be a
- 1:24:00centerpiece for me, dude. And the little Ellie, by the
- 1:24:02way, we're going to end this here.
- 1:24:03But the LED, it's customizable. Or you can just turn it off.
- 1:24:08They said if you don't like it, just turn it off, OK?
- 1:24:11OK, the thing I love so much about Valve is they do think
- 1:24:15about everything when designing a piece of hardware.
- 1:24:19What's meticulous? It, it is very meticulous the
- 1:24:23the fact that it has Bluetooth and you know, the this
- 1:24:27controller having three different ways that you can
- 1:24:29connect it to something is crazy.
- 1:24:32The the, the, the actual Steam Machine itself of being having
- 1:24:39display port and HDMI in such a small form factor is crazy.
- 1:24:44Having the, the, the, the new Steam frame and having multiple
- 1:24:51ways you can technically play that.
- 1:24:53Like they think of everything when they design this hardware
- 1:24:57and they do it so it so exceptionally well that it's
- 1:25:00just staggering that anybody else is even remotely able to
- 1:25:04compete. I mean, even looking at this
- 1:25:07controller, as much as I hate it, I know it's going to be a
- 1:25:11great fucking controller. Like having the bass come with
- 1:25:16the controller that you can charge it on and it also serves
- 1:25:20as the dongle for this fucking thing is such a good idea.
- 1:25:24It's such a good idea. It has no reason to be this well
- 1:25:29thought out. And yet Valve was like, hey, how
- 1:25:33do we make the potentially the best controller that has come
- 1:25:37out in the last fucking 20 years?
- 1:25:39And I say that as, again, somebody who loves the Xbox
- 1:25:43controller, how do we make it better?
- 1:25:48And they're and you don't have to buy batteries for it and you
- 1:25:50don't have to buy anything like the dongle comes with it.
- 1:25:54Everything is included like how do we make this better?
- 1:25:58How do we make this work with everything they could possibly
- 1:26:01want? How do we make it switch Florida
- 1:26:03State between machine to machine?
- 1:26:06Oh, that's how you do it. OK, let's do that.
- 1:26:08Yeah, let's do that. Like I there, Steam gets a lot
- 1:26:14of credit for a lot of things, Valve gets a lot of credit for a
- 1:26:17lot of things. But I don't think a lot of
- 1:26:18people put as much thought into how well designed all of their
- 1:26:23hardware is, how well it works with everything you could
- 1:26:27possibly want. It is.
- 1:26:30It is very impressive, very impressive.
- 1:26:33And honestly, like they don't get enough credit for that side
- 1:26:38of things. Yeah, this is this is monumental
- 1:26:42in my opinion. It really is.
- 1:26:44This is huge for everybody in the gaming universe.
- 1:26:47It really is. And I say that because this is a
- 1:26:50all of this is great entry point for everybody.
- 1:26:53This is PC gaming now for everybody.
- 1:26:56Welcome to Steam, welcome to PC gaming.
- 1:27:00Dip your toe in. This is going to be an awesome
- 1:27:02ride with Valve and I cannot wait to see you.
