Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on everybody? It's Romeo. We talked a
• 0:02
Speaker 1: little bit today about an ice chest, man. You always
• 0:04
Speaker 1: got to take an ice chest when you're going out
• 0:06
Speaker 1: of town, right? You're going to stay at a hotel,
• 0:08
Speaker 1: you got to bring that ice chest with you. Also
• 0:11
Speaker 1: a good story. Everybody should have one good story that
• 0:13
Speaker 1: you and your friends just retell all the time.
• 0:16
Speaker 2: What is your great story?
• 0:18
Speaker 1: Okay, so I want to talk about divorce. A lot
• 0:21
Speaker 1: of you guys have gone through divorces. Some, I don't
• 0:24
Speaker 1: know if there's ever a good divorce. I always hear
• 0:27
Speaker 1: about the bad ones, but a friend of mine who
• 0:30
Speaker 1: I went to high school with, went to college with.
• 0:33
Speaker 1: He's going through a divorce. Now, we all kind of,
• 0:36
Speaker 1: his wife, we all kind of grew up together. We
• 0:38
Speaker 1: grew up in the same town. We didn't all go
• 0:40
Speaker 1: to the same high schools, but we grew up in
• 0:41
Speaker 1: the same town. We all kind of knew each other.
• 0:43
Speaker 1: And then in college, we all kind of got to
• 0:45
Speaker 1: become better friends. My buddy ends up hooking up with her,
• 0:49
Speaker 1: and they end up getting married out of college. Now,
• 0:51
Speaker 1: both fairly successful. But here's the deal. Now, just the preferences.
• 0:57
Speaker 1: He's a millionaire, okay? Part of that success comes from
• 1:02
Speaker 1: her because she had a really good job as well.
• 1:04
Speaker 1: They both went into the same field. Well, at a
• 1:08
Speaker 1: certain point, they had a couple of kids, boy and
• 1:10
Speaker 1: a girl. And she decided that she was going to quit.
• 1:17
Speaker 2: Oh, they or she, I don't know. I think she decided.
• 1:20
Speaker 1: I don't know if he really wanted her to. She
• 1:22
Speaker 1: was going to stop working. He made plenty of money.
• 1:26
Speaker 1: She was going to raise the kids, okay? So they did. Well,
• 1:32
Speaker 1: Ten years later, they're going through a divorce.
• 1:35
Speaker 2: She hasn't worked in ten years, okay?
• 1:38
Speaker 1: Well, he calls me on Friday. He called me Friday,
• 1:44
Speaker 1: Friday night. He calls me, and he says, and then
• 1:47
Speaker 1: this all started. They started this. They separated earlier in
• 1:51
Speaker 1: the year. So he calls me, and his dad, which
• 1:56
Speaker 1: I've known his dad and his family for a long time, his.
• 1:58
Speaker 2: Dad, who's passed away, left him. a very expensive classic car.
• 2:04
Speaker 1: I mean, something that's like, I think if he sold it,
• 2:06
Speaker 1: it would be somewhere around $ 100, 000 car. And his dad
• 2:11
Speaker 1: was a car guy. So his dad leaves him this car.
• 2:16
Speaker 1: And my buddy goes, you know what? I'm going to
• 2:18
Speaker 1: save this car for my son. He has a son
• 2:20
Speaker 1: and a daughter. Now, the daughter obviously doesn't want the car.
• 2:23
Speaker 1: The son does. And the son's a little older. So
• 2:29
Speaker 1: He says, I'm going to save this car for my son, right?
• 2:32
Speaker 2: So this classic car, which.
• 2:34
Speaker 1: His dad gave him. Check out this vindictive chick, right?
• 2:40
Speaker 1: This is why he called me Friday, because he says, hey,
• 2:43
Speaker 1: she wants me to sell the car so she can
• 2:47
Speaker 1: get half the money in the divorce. And I was
• 2:53
Speaker 1: just thinking, man, you really, this car was... This guy
• 2:57
Speaker 1: was never going to keep this car from his dad.
• 2:58
Speaker 1: It was always going to go to his kid. Always.
• 3:02
Speaker 1: And now she's so vindictive over this divorce situation that
• 3:07
Speaker 1: she's willing to take from her own child. What kind
• 3:11
Speaker 1: of ruthless chick does that, right? I just, my God,
• 3:16
Speaker 1: these divorces. Anyway, so I don't know. So now I'm
• 3:21
Speaker 1: involved in it. The reason he called me is he said,
• 3:25
Speaker 1: asked me if I would buy it from him. The car.
• 3:30
Speaker 1: With the anticipation of him buying it back from me
• 3:33
Speaker 1: after the divorce is all done. Now, obviously, I don't
• 3:35
Speaker 1: have $ 100, 000 to buy a car, but he can sell
• 3:38
Speaker 1: me the car for whatever he wants. You know? Now,
• 3:41
Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm going to get in trouble.
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: I don't know how, I don't know how far they
• 3:45
Speaker 1: are along in this divorce. I'm hoping he's smart enough
• 3:47
Speaker 1: to know that there is nothing yet in paper that
• 3:51
Speaker 1: says he has to you know, give him the proceeds.
• 3:57
Speaker 2: So I bought the car.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: So it's, uh, anyway, I own this car now and
• 4:05
Speaker 1: I'm going to, whenever, you know, he gets through the divorce,
• 4:08
Speaker 1: I'll sell it back to him because he wants to
• 4:10
Speaker 1: give it to his kid. But what kind of woman
• 4:14
Speaker 1: do you have? Mother, do you have to be, to
• 4:18
Speaker 1: be that spiteful that you're going to drag your kid
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: through it?
• 4:24
Speaker 2: Boy, that just seems shameless to me.
• 4:27
Speaker 1: You know? But these divorces, man, boy, they can get
• 4:32
Speaker 1: pretty contentious. And who knows how long this thing's going
• 4:36
Speaker 1: to go or what's going on with it. But, man,
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: it's wild. That's just wild.
• 4:43
  Speaker 2: R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7.
• 4:44
Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, you were talking about your buddy and the
• 4:48
Speaker 1: divorce and the car, the expensive car. Well, how do
• 4:53
Speaker 1: you know your buddy's just not trying to screw over
• 4:55
  Speaker 1: his soon-to-be ex-wife? Because if it's a car that's that expensive,
• 5:01
Speaker 1: she does deserve half of it.
• 5:03
  Speaker 2: Does she?
• 5:08
  Speaker 3: Does she?
• 5:10
Speaker 1: It's a car that was given to my friend before
• 5:15
Speaker 1: they got married. His father gave it to him before
• 5:19
Speaker 1: they got married. And it's an expensive car. It's a
• 5:21
Speaker 1: classic car, okay? And his whole plan from the get
• 5:28
Speaker 1: go was to give it to their son. So what,
• 5:34
Speaker 1: what are you talking about here? What do you mean? She's,
• 5:39
Speaker 1: she's how shy and spiteful do you have to be
• 5:43
Speaker 1: to steal from your own kid?
• 5:46
Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying. It's not like, look, man, they
• 5:49
Speaker 2: got a lot of money.
• 5:50
  Speaker 4: Okay.
• 5:51
Speaker 1: Um, I mean, don't get me wrong. They got, she's
• 5:57
Speaker 1: going to get her cut, right? Because he's a millionaire.
• 6:00
Speaker 1: She stopped working so she could raise kids. She's going
• 6:04
Speaker 1: to get her cut. I mean, that's just what I'm saying.
• 6:06
Speaker 1: I'm saying specifically about the fact that she wants a
• 6:09
Speaker 1: piece of this car that was never intended. He's not,
• 6:13
Speaker 1: that was first of all, given to him by his
• 6:15
Speaker 1: father before they got married. Second of all, he always
• 6:18
Speaker 1: planned to give to his son. And she wants him
• 6:22
Speaker 1: to sell it so she can get half of it. So, no,
• 6:27
Speaker 1: what are you talking about? How spiteful do you have
• 6:30
Speaker 1: to be to steal from your kids? You know? Yeah,
• 6:35
Speaker 1: that's just dirty. All right, 8-4-2-5-4-7-7. Hey, Rome, let's fill
• 6:41
Speaker 1: up the ice chest and go on a road trip, Rome.
• 6:47
  Speaker 5: No, yeah.
• 6:50
Speaker 1: But how? I mean, I understand. You women just got
• 6:54
Speaker 1: to relax, man. Take your L's at some point. That's
• 6:59
Speaker 1: the problem with divorce. These women think they're owed more
• 7:02
Speaker 1: than they deserve. And then all of a sudden, this
• 7:05
Speaker 1: is what you come up with. Stealing from your own kid.
• 7:09
  Speaker 6: R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7.
• 7:09
Speaker 1: All right, so a friend of mine, he and his
• 7:14
Speaker 1: wife separated earlier this year on... They've been together since college.
• 7:21
  Speaker 2: They got married.
• 7:22
Speaker 1: They got a couple of kids. Both graduates, college graduates,
• 7:25
Speaker 1: had really well jobs. Now, they make a lot of money.
• 7:27
Speaker 1: He makes much more than her now at this point.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: But they do make good money. And she ended up
• 7:32
Speaker 1: quitting her career because they had a couple of kids,
• 7:36
Speaker 1: a boy and a girl. And she wanted to stay
• 7:39
Speaker 1: at home, raise kids, which was fine. And now they're
• 7:44
Speaker 1: getting a divorce. But one of the things that's come
• 7:47
Speaker 1: up is that he has this classic car that his
• 7:51
Speaker 1: father left him before they got married. And it's about
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: a $ 90, 000, $ 100, 000 car, I guess, depending on the market.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: But he was always planning on giving it to his son.
• 8:01
Speaker 1: Was never going to keep it. Well, she wants him
• 8:04
Speaker 1: to sell it now. And it just... She wants him
• 8:12
Speaker 1: to sell it, and she wants half the money.
• 8:16
  Speaker 4: Which.
• 8:17
Speaker 2: Seems a little despicable, right?
• 8:18
Speaker 1: Considering the car was always intended to go to the child,
• 8:25
Speaker 1: to their child. I mean, I don't know how she
• 8:28
Speaker 1: could take money out of her child's pocket, but that
• 8:30
Speaker 1: just seems a little despicable to me. Hey, Rome, all
• 8:34
Speaker 1: your responses to the divorce topic are going to prove
• 8:37
Speaker 1: how ruthless and spiteful women can be. I guarantee you
• 8:41
Speaker 1: all the responses justify this woman's are also spiteful, petty women.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: Signed a non-spiteful, petty woman. Oh, signed a non-spiteful, petty woman.
• 8:56
  Speaker 4: I get it.
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't... I just can't believe she would do
• 9:01
Speaker 1: that to her own child. That's a little despicable. Yo, Rome,
• 9:07
Speaker 1: sounds like something a woman would say.
• 9:09
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 9:12
Speaker 1: It's pretty pathetic that somebody would do that to their
• 9:15
Speaker 1: own kid, okay? I understand divorces are crazy, and I
• 9:20
Speaker 1: understand that, you know, when there's the money that's involved
• 9:24
Speaker 1: with this one. But to take it from your child?
• 9:29
Speaker 1: You want to be spiteful against your husband? I get it.
• 9:32
Speaker 1: But to take it from your child, especially something that
• 9:34
Speaker 1: his dad gave him before they got married, and he's
• 9:37
Speaker 1: passed away since? I mean, that seems a little disrespectful
• 9:41
  Speaker 1: and just... crazy.
• 9:44
  Speaker 2: Divorce, right?
• 9:45
Speaker 1: Divorce can be crazy. Divorce can last a long time,
• 9:48
Speaker 1: depending how much money's involved, depending on how spiteful you
• 9:52
Speaker 1: are with your ex, you know, kids involved, alimony involved.
• 9:57
Speaker 1: But boy, this woman. and unfortunately, she's a friend of mine.
• 10:03
Speaker 1: She's married to another friend of mine, and she had
• 10:05
Speaker 1: just taken it to a whole new level, at least
• 10:07
Speaker 1: as far as I'm concerned. So both my friends graduated college,
• 10:11
Speaker 1: got good jobs. She decided that she wanted to stop working.
• 10:15
Speaker 1: His business is just flourishing where they live. And I'm
• 10:19
Speaker 1: talking about he brings in millions a year. We're not
• 10:23
Speaker 1: talking about chump change, right? So his dad left him
• 10:28
Speaker 1: this classic car, and it could be anywhere between $ 90, 000
• 10:32
Speaker 1: to $ 100, 000 car. His dad was a car guy growing up,
• 10:35
Speaker 1: left him this car, right? The guy never intended and
• 10:39
Speaker 1: left it to him.
• 10:40
  Speaker 4: Why?
• 10:40
Speaker 1: The way before he got married. Never intended to keep it.
• 10:43
Speaker 1: Always had planned to give it. They got a couple
• 10:44
Speaker 1: of kids. She stopped working, by the way, so she
• 10:47
Speaker 1: can take care of the kids. That's what she wanted
• 10:49
Speaker 1: to do. Okay, that was her decision. Now, he always
• 10:54
Speaker 1: intended to give the car to his kid, to the
• 10:57
Speaker 1: oldest son, which he has a son and a daughter.
• 11:00
Speaker 1: Just pass it down, right? Well, she wants him to
• 11:02
Speaker 1: sell it so that she can get part of it,
• 11:04
Speaker 1: so she can get half that money in the divorce.
• 11:08
Speaker 1: That seems spiteful. Now you're just taking it, stepping on
• 11:11
Speaker 1: your kid out of spite for your ex-husband, which is fine,
• 11:16
Speaker 1: you know, not to step on your kid, but I
• 11:19
Speaker 1: get it. You want to be mad at your ex,
• 11:22
Speaker 1: your ex-husband or wife for whatever reason. You want to
• 11:24
Speaker 1: fight about it and go through some nasty, bitter divorce.
• 11:27
  Speaker 1: I get it.
• 11:27
  Speaker 4: Okay.
• 11:29
Speaker 1: A lot of feelings, emotions involved, but don't step on
• 11:32
Speaker 1: your kid to do it. Hey, Rome. Hey, that guy
• 11:36
Speaker 1: should sell that car to you. A buddy that he
• 11:40
Speaker 1: trusted for like 10 bucks and have you give it
• 11:43
Speaker 1: to his son as a gift as soon as the
• 11:45
Speaker 1: divorce is finalized. I sure give that gold digger her $ 5. Well,
• 11:52
Speaker 1: first of all, I don't think she's gold digging out
• 11:56
Speaker 1: of this car because this is something his dead father
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: gave him.
• 11:59
  Speaker 2: His father's dead.
• 12:01
Speaker 1: Gave him because this was one of the last things
• 12:05
Speaker 1: he had to give his son. And so my buddy
• 12:08
Speaker 1: always intended to pass it down to his kid. Never
• 12:11
Speaker 1: intended to keep it. Nothing ever was going to happen
• 12:15
Speaker 1: other than him pass it.
• 12:16
Speaker 2: Down to his kid.
• 12:17
  Speaker 7: Okay.
• 12:18
Speaker 1: And so she's not being gold digging. She's being spiteful
• 12:23
Speaker 1: and hateful and using and stepping on her son to
• 12:27
Speaker 1: show hate towards her soon to be ex-husband is what
• 12:31
  Speaker 1: she's doing.
• 12:33
Speaker 2: And just so you know, I did buy the car already.
• 12:37
Speaker 1: It's sitting at my buddy's house. We're hiding it over there.
• 12:39
Speaker 1: So I don't know what the legal ramifications are going
• 12:42
Speaker 1: to be, if there are any, but I don't know
• 12:44
Speaker 1: if Apparently, since the divorce isn't final, I'm just assuming
• 12:49
Speaker 1: that there's nothing she can do about it. But yes, no,
• 12:51
Speaker 1: I own the car now. And we're hiding it at
• 12:54
Speaker 1: my buddy's house. So if anybody shows up at my house,
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: we don't know.
• 13:00
Speaker 2: We don't know nothing about it.
• 13:02
  Speaker 6: I know.
• 13:02
Speaker 1: Romeo, you're talking about it on the radio. Yeah, but
• 13:04
Speaker 1: you never know. That doesn't do nothing.
• 13:07
  Speaker 4: All right.
• 13:09
Speaker 2: I don't even know if the car's in my name.
• 13:10
  Speaker 8: So, hey.
• 13:11
Speaker 1: When it comes to divorce, man, I know a lot
• 13:13
Speaker 1: of you guys have gone through some bad divorces. I
• 13:15
Speaker 1: don't know if anybody's gone through a great divorce, but
• 13:18
Speaker 1: bad divorces, I know a couple of people that have
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: gone through some.
• 13:22
Speaker 2: Especially when you've got a little bit of money in your.
• 13:23
Speaker 1: Pocket, things go sideways. Women get spiteful, and the way
• 13:28
Speaker 1: women get spiteful is they try to take your money,
• 13:31
Speaker 1: even if they don't deserve it. And one of the
• 13:36
Speaker 1: things that's going on right now with a friend of mine,
• 13:38
Speaker 1: him and his wife are getting ready. You know, they're
• 13:40
Speaker 1: going through some process. They split up early in January.
• 13:43
Speaker 1: I don't know the extent of the process. But he's
• 13:46
Speaker 1: had this car, this classic car that his dad gave
• 13:49
Speaker 1: him when he passed away. And this was before they
• 13:53
Speaker 1: got married. And so he's been holding on to it
• 13:56
  Speaker 1: for their son.
• 13:57
Speaker 2: They got a son.
• 13:58
Speaker 1: He was never going to keep the car, but the
• 13:59
  Speaker 1: car's expensive. Probably around $ 90, 000, $ 100, 000 car. And so he
• 14:04
Speaker 1: was always going to give this. Well, now that him
• 14:07
Speaker 1: and his wife are going through this divorce, she wants
• 14:11
Speaker 1: the car sold and she wants a cut of her
• 14:15
Speaker 1: son's car. He was never going to do anything with it.
• 14:18
Speaker 1: I mean, he's held on to this car for maybe
• 14:22
Speaker 1: 20 years just with the anticipation of giving it to
• 14:26
Speaker 1: their kid. And she's over here trying to get paid
• 14:30
Speaker 1: off her son because she's mad about the divorce. Hey, Rome,
• 14:36
Speaker 1: she's money hungry. No mother would take from her son.
• 14:39
Speaker 1: She's wrong for wanting half of it, even if he
• 14:43
Speaker 1: didn't intend to give it to his son. It was
• 14:45
Speaker 1: left to him by his dad. She doesn't deserve that.
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: She's wrong for that. I'm a woman, and I could
• 14:52
Speaker 1: never take something like that.
• 14:53
  Speaker 2: It's just wrong.
• 14:55
Speaker 1: Well, you're a better woman than my friends, soon to
• 14:59
  Speaker 1: be ex-wife. I mean, I should say she's my friend.
• 15:02
Speaker 1: You're a better woman than my friend is. She's just
• 15:04
Speaker 1: being a jackass at this point. But it was something.
• 15:09
Speaker 1: It was something that was... See, that's a good question, though.
• 15:12
Speaker 1: That was... The way I see it is like you
• 15:17
Speaker 1: see it. It was something from his dad. There is.
• 15:20
  Speaker 4: There is.
• 15:22
Speaker 1: Certain things in life that I believe are family things,
• 15:28
  Speaker 1: family heirlooms.
• 15:30
Speaker 2: That get passed down, right?
• 15:32
Speaker 1: I have a lot of them in my family, actually,
• 15:34
Speaker 1: on both sides of my family.
• 15:35
Speaker 2: Both sides of my family.
• 15:39
Speaker 1: Have a lot of things that they've accumulated over the
• 15:42
Speaker 1: years and that stay in the family. I guess you
• 15:46
Speaker 1: call them family heirlooms. They will stay in the family.
• 15:51
Speaker 1: And spouses that marry into the family have tried to
• 15:55
  Speaker 1: get that stuff.
• 15:56
  Speaker 2: But you can't.
• 15:58
Speaker 1: Because, yeah. So you guys probably know what I'm talking about.
• 16:03
Speaker 1: There's probably stuff in your family that whoever you marry
• 16:06
Speaker 1: should never get it. And when they're spiteful and try
• 16:10
Speaker 1: to get it, they're doing it out of spite. They're
• 16:11
Speaker 1: not doing it out of money. They're just doing it
• 16:14
Speaker 1: to hurt you because they're mad. And that's... But this
• 16:19
Speaker 1: is this scenario where she's stepping on her son, her
• 16:24
Speaker 1: own son, to be spiteful, bitter, angry. What kind of
• 16:30
Speaker 1: cold hearted woman do you have to be? I've known
• 16:32
Speaker 1: this woman for 20 plus years. I've never known her
• 16:35
Speaker 1: to be like this. It's ridiculous. Good morning, Rome. Hey,
• 16:40
Speaker 1: come on now. You left the best part out. How
• 16:43
Speaker 1: much did you buy the car for? Hope a dollar,
• 16:47
Speaker 1: that would be the best thing to give her 50 cents.
• 16:55
Speaker 1: It wasn't very much. It wasn't a dollar, but it
• 16:57
Speaker 1: wasn't very much. It was nowhere close to what it's worth. Rome, actually,
• 17:06
  Speaker 1: I don't think he's going to tell her that he's
• 17:10
Speaker 1: just going to say it's gone. So I don't think
• 17:12
Speaker 1: they're at a point where He owes her anything. I
• 17:16
Speaker 1: think she's telling him this. And so he was smart
• 17:20
Speaker 1: enough to call me. Hey, Rome, she's just a gold digger,
• 17:23
Speaker 1: a gold digging hoe. How, Rome? All she cares about
• 17:27
  Speaker 1: is the money. I don't think it's the money. I
• 17:29
  Speaker 1: really don't. I think it's spiteful. I think that when
• 17:36
Speaker 1: you look at these women, when they go through divorces
• 17:40
Speaker 1: in this manner, when there is money involved, I think
• 17:42
Speaker 1: a lot of you think she's just being gold diggy.
• 17:46
Speaker 1: But the reason she's, I think the reason these women
• 17:50
Speaker 1: act like this is obviously the only thing they can
• 17:53
Speaker 1: take from him. So the only way she can get
• 17:58
Speaker 1: even in her mind is to take as much money
• 18:01
Speaker 1: as possible. I don't think she really wants the money.
• 18:03
Speaker 1: I think she wants to hurt him out of spiteful
• 18:07
Speaker 1: because she's spiteful, okay? So it's kind of one of
• 18:10
Speaker 1: those catch 22 things. The only way to get at
• 18:12
Speaker 1: him is the money. So she looks like a gold digger,
• 18:14
Speaker 1: but the reality is that's the only way to hurt
• 18:16
Speaker 1: him is to take his money. So I think it's
• 18:20
  Speaker 1: a situation like that. All right, 8-4-2-5-4-7-7. A-Rome, it's not
• 18:27
Speaker 1: a big deal. If he makes millions, anyone he knows
• 18:30
Speaker 1: could buy it from him. And once it's settled, put
• 18:34
Speaker 1: it He'll put it back under his name. But yeah,
• 18:38
Speaker 1: some women are petty. And that's what it is. Petty, spitefulness, whatever.
• 18:42
  Speaker 2: We're good.
• 18:43
Speaker 1: Well, I don't got the car. Somebody's got the car.
• 18:46
Speaker 1: But no, I'm just saying, you know, you also got
• 18:49
Speaker 1: to find somebody you can trust, you know? So anyway, yeah,
• 18:54
Speaker 1: it just, you know, some people don't handle divorce well.
• 18:58
Speaker 1: I don't know why people get so upset over a divorce.
• 19:02
Speaker 1: It didn't work out. Okay, so what? I mean, relationships,
• 19:05
Speaker 1: it happens sometimes. You know, these people get bitter and
• 19:09
Speaker 1: mad and can't move on. And I just think, well,
• 19:14
Speaker 1: you know, life has its ups and downs.
• 19:16
Speaker 2: You got to figure it out.
• 19:18
Speaker 1: Last night, I was talking to a friend of mine.
• 19:20
Speaker 1: He got back from Vegas. They went to Vegas for
• 19:22
Speaker 1: the weekend. So they got back. I think they got
• 19:26
Speaker 1: back yesterday afternoon. And he stops by Monday Night Football.
• 19:32
Speaker 1: And so we're over at Just Wing It talking, and
• 19:34
Speaker 1: we're talking about, you know, he's in Vegas, talking about
• 19:37
Speaker 1: everything that's going on. I was asking him about stuff,
• 19:39
Speaker 1: and he goes, he was mad because his hotel room
• 19:45
Speaker 1: where he stayed at, you know how they have the
• 19:48
Speaker 1: mini fridges? Well, he was mad because the fridge was full.
• 19:53
Speaker 1: So he couldn't put his liquor in the refrigerator. You know,
• 19:59
Speaker 1: he brought a case of beer, brought some liquor. He
• 20:02
Speaker 1: didn't have a fridge to put it in to keep
• 20:03
Speaker 1: it cool. So I guess he called down to the
• 20:07
Speaker 1: front desk, asked him about it, and the front desk
• 20:09
Speaker 1: wanted to charge him 50 bucks or something for an
• 20:13
  Speaker 1: empty mini fridge.
• 20:15
  Speaker 2: Well, okay.
• 20:18
Speaker 1: He's mad about it. He's telling me this. He goes, man,
• 20:22
Speaker 1: I was mad. He goes, man, I couldn't keep my
• 20:24
Speaker 1: beer cold. I had to, you know, go buy beer.
• 20:27
  Speaker 1: It's a hustle. It's a scam.
• 20:28
Speaker 2: It's blah, blah, blah. I'm like, bruh, what?
• 20:33
Speaker 1: Who doesn't take an ice chest with them? You take it.
• 20:38
Speaker 1: Why didn't you take your ice chest? You fill up
• 20:40
Speaker 1: your ice chest. You take it in the room. You
• 20:43
Speaker 1: don't got to worry about no fridge, mini fridge, full
• 20:45
Speaker 1: or not. What is wrong with you? Well, I was,
• 20:49
Speaker 1: you know, I can't take an ice chest. It was
• 20:51
Speaker 1: a nice hotel we stayed at. I couldn't roll my
• 20:54
Speaker 1: ice chest through that. Why? And if it's a nice
• 20:58
Speaker 1: hotel you stay at and you so scared that you're
• 21:01
Speaker 1: going to be embarrassed. about rolling your ice chest through,
• 21:04
Speaker 1: then why can't you just afford the liquor? Why are
• 21:09
Speaker 1: you taking your own alcohol to begin with? If you're
• 21:14
Speaker 1: so high-sididdy that you can't, you know, take your ice chest. Bro,
• 21:17
Speaker 1: I got an ice chest in my truck right now
• 21:19
Speaker 1: ready to go. Who doesn't take an ice chest everywhere
• 21:23
Speaker 1: with them? I don't know. This fool grew up in Vegas.
• 21:27
Speaker 1: I don't know where he grew up or what his
• 21:28
Speaker 1: daddy taught him. But my God, what is wrong with you?
• 21:34
Speaker 1: If you go into Vegas or any hotel room, if
• 21:36
Speaker 1: you go in anywhere for the weekend, you fill up
• 21:40
Speaker 1: your ice chest. If you go into a quinceanera, if
• 21:47
Speaker 1: you go into a wedding reception, you fill up your
• 21:49
Speaker 1: ice chest. What is wrong with you, man? You mad
• 21:56
Speaker 1: you got to pay $ 50 to get an empty refrigerator
• 22:00
Speaker 1: brought up to your room so you can keep your
• 22:01
Speaker 1: beer cold when you could just took your ice chest.
• 22:04
Speaker 2: Ah, no, but you don't want to be embarrassed, right,
• 22:07
Speaker 2: for having an ice chest.
• 22:09
Speaker 1: What is wrong with you?
• 22:10
Speaker 2: Go get a Yeti ice chest. Those are expensive.
• 22:12
Speaker 1: I see these nice $ 500 Yeti ice chests on wheels.
• 22:16
Speaker 1: Go get you one of those. Then you won't feel
• 22:18
Speaker 1: as embarrassed when you walk through a hotel lobby with
• 22:21
Speaker 1: an ice chest to your hotel room.
• 22:24
Speaker 2: He's this fool. I couldn't believe he told me that
• 22:26
  Speaker 2: story yesterday. I really couldn't.
• 22:29
Speaker 1: Man, you take an ice chest. We live in Bakersfield.
• 22:31
Speaker 1: We take an ice chest everywhere we go. A friend
• 22:33
Speaker 1: of mine was telling me that he went to Vegas, right?
• 22:38
Speaker 1: And he wanted a, he took a case of beer
• 22:40
Speaker 1: and some liquor and stuff, but he didn't take it
• 22:42
Speaker 1: in an ice chest. He just took it. Just was
• 22:45
Speaker 1: going to put it in the fridge in the hotel room.
• 22:47
  Speaker 2: Well, guess what?
• 22:49
Speaker 1: He went to some nicer hotel. Apparently in the fridge
• 22:52
Speaker 1: was a mini bar. So I guess the hotel was
• 22:54
Speaker 1: going to charge him 50 bucks to bring up an
• 22:57
Speaker 1: empty refrigerator for him to put his stuff in. He
• 23:01
Speaker 1: was mad about it. Why didn't you just take your
• 23:04
Speaker 1: ice chest? You take an ice chest. We take ice
• 23:06
Speaker 1: chests everywhere we go. It's just, that's just common.
• 23:13
Speaker 2: Good morning, Al. What's going on?
• 23:14
  Speaker 4: Hey, Romeo.
• 23:16
Speaker 5: My comment's about that guy that was complaining about the
• 23:19
  Speaker 5: fridge at Vegas.
• 23:19
Speaker 2: Oh, no, he's a friend of mine.
• 23:21
Speaker 1: He's an idiot, but you okay?
• 23:22
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 23:24
Speaker 6: No, I've been to those hotels, like Caesars especially. They
• 23:27
Speaker 6: have their little, their.
• 23:30
Speaker 6: Stocked little fridge that you got to pay for. You
• 23:33
Speaker 6: touch it. Even if you move it, they charge you
• 23:35
Speaker 6: a restocked repeat. But yeah, I already know that.
• 23:38
Speaker 3: I was like, I take my ice chest.
• 23:39
Speaker 8: They got big old spa tubs. I fill that up
• 23:41
Speaker 8: with ice. Or I'll put the sink. They give you
• 23:44
  Speaker 8: so many sinks.
• 23:45
Speaker 5: It's for an ice chest.
• 23:47
Speaker 9: And they got the ice on the floor.
• 23:48
Speaker 8: You fill them up. Put your beer in there.
• 23:50
Speaker 1: That's what this dummy said. He said he was going
• 23:52
Speaker 1: to fill up his trash can with ice. I said,
• 23:55
Speaker 1: take your damn ice chest, man.
• 23:57
Speaker 5: Yeah, or ice chest.
• 23:58
  Speaker 8: Roll it through.
• 23:59
  Speaker 5: It's a Yeti.
• 23:59
  Speaker 6: Come on.
• 24:00
Speaker 8: You got to keep ice chest as you got to.
• 24:03
Speaker 8: Don't you love your beer?
• 24:04
Speaker 7: Dude, I will roll anything.
• 24:05
Speaker 1: Through a beer. Through a hotel lobby. I do not care.
• 24:11
Speaker 7: Or just tip the bow guy five bucks, ten bucks.
• 24:14
Speaker 8: He'll take it up there for you.
• 24:15
  Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
• 24:19
Speaker 8: Other than that, I get three packs.
• 24:21
Speaker 6: I fill them up with a bag of ice.
• 24:23
Speaker 5: And you see me strolling through the casino floor with.
• 24:25
Speaker 8: A bag of ice and.
• 24:26
Speaker 1: Tall hands of Modelo. That's awesome, man. Thanks for calling.
• 24:32
Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about, man.
• 24:35
Speaker 1: Cares if you're rolling your ice chest through, man. God,
• 24:39
  Speaker 1: he's such a dummy. I got to tell you a
• 24:43
Speaker 1: funny story about an ice chest, by the way. So
• 24:45
Speaker 1: this was years and years ago when my little niece,
• 24:49
Speaker 1: my sister's kid, she went to this little school. I
• 24:52
Speaker 1: think it was like a kindergarten or pre-kindergarten or something.
• 24:56
  Speaker 2: I don't remember.
• 24:57
Speaker 1: It was a school you had to pay for. So
• 25:01
Speaker 1: my sister asked, hey, they're going on a field trip.
• 25:04
Speaker 1: Would you mind taking her You know, me and my brother-in-law,
• 25:07
Speaker 1: my brother-in-law both had to work.
• 25:08
  Speaker 2: They couldn't go.
• 25:10
Speaker 1: And I said, I'll take her.
• 25:11
  Speaker 3: Yeah, of course.
• 25:11
Speaker 1: They were going to some orchard outside of town where
• 25:17
Speaker 1: they live. And they were going to pick fruit or
• 25:19
Speaker 1: something like that. I can't remember what it was exactly.
• 25:21
Speaker 1: I just remember being in an orchard. So my sister,
• 25:25
Speaker 1: I come to pick her up. My niece and I
• 25:30
Speaker 1: have an ice chest packed. I got snacks. I got
• 25:34
Speaker 1: juice boxes. I got water. I got everything, right? Because
• 25:39
  Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on. I'm not going to
• 25:41
Speaker 1: let my little niece hang if she's hungry, if she
• 25:43
  Speaker 1: wants something.
• 25:45
  Speaker 2: I'm stacked, right?
• 25:47
Speaker 1: So we go to this farm, and my niece says
• 25:52
Speaker 1: she's hungry. So I'm like, I got it. Drop the tailgate,
• 25:56
Speaker 1: open the ice chest. Next thing you know, whole class
• 25:59
Speaker 1: is hungry, right? Teacher's pissed. Lunch is until 1130. I'm like,
• 26:07
Speaker 1: there's six or five. I think there might have been
• 26:09
Speaker 1: four or five at the time, whatever they were. I
• 26:12
Speaker 1: sat there. So I got like eight little kids in
• 26:14
Speaker 1: the back of my truck, eating all the snacks, drinking
• 26:16
  Speaker 1: all the juice.
• 26:17
Speaker 2: The teacher is pissed off. So I get a phone
• 26:22
Speaker 2: call from my sister.
• 26:24
Speaker 1: What are you doing? The teacher just called me and said...
• 26:27
Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm feeding these damn kids. What do you mean,
• 26:30
Speaker 1: what am I doing? They're hungry. And man, needless to say,
• 26:36
Speaker 1: I never got to take my niece on another field trip,
• 26:39
  Speaker 1: but screw them.
• 26:42
Speaker 2: You carry an ice chest, man. No matter what you're doing.
• 26:46
Speaker 1: When it comes to taking your ice chest, you should
• 26:48
Speaker 1: take your ice chest everywhere you go, regardless of how
• 26:51
Speaker 1: you feel about it or what people think you, I
• 26:54
Speaker 1: should say. My buddy was in Vegas, and apparently he
• 26:58
Speaker 1: didn't take an ice chest. He just took his beer
• 27:00
Speaker 1: and his liquor. He was going to throw it in
• 27:01
Speaker 1: the refrigerator in the hotel, but the hotel, I guess,
• 27:05
Speaker 1: was full. Mini bar, right? And he was mad about it,
• 27:09
Speaker 1: so he called down. They were going to charge him,
• 27:11
Speaker 1: I think, 50 bucks or something like that, and they
• 27:13
Speaker 1: were going to bring up another fridge empty for him
• 27:15
Speaker 1: to put his liquor in, which I know seems a
• 27:18
Speaker 1: little scandalous, but why the hell don't you just take
• 27:21
Speaker 1: your ice chest? Oh, he was too embarrassed to take
• 27:24
Speaker 1: an ice chest through the hotel lobby. What are people
• 27:27
Speaker 1: going to think of him? First of all, ain't nobody
• 27:29
Speaker 1: paying attention. You don't normally give a damn about you
• 27:32
Speaker 1: walking through the hotel lobby with an ice chest. Don't
• 27:35
Speaker 1: nobody care? Second of all, get over yourself. My God.
• 27:40
Speaker 1: That's what you get. Rd4254, 7-7, yo, Rome. Raider Rob
• 27:46
Speaker 1: removes their liquor and puts his in place.
• 27:50
Speaker 2: You can't do that no more, though.
• 27:53
Speaker 1: Once you touch that liquor in that, they got it
• 27:55
Speaker 1: all electronically censored now when you open that fridge in
• 27:58
Speaker 1: the hotel. Once you touch that bottle, it's yours. They
• 28:01
Speaker 1: charge you for it. Hey, Romeo, the real problem is
• 28:05
Speaker 1: it sounds like he has no street smarts. Why couldn't
• 28:09
Speaker 1: he just put his beer in one of the sinks
• 28:12
Speaker 1: and cover it in ice? Yeah, that's a very good point.
• 28:16
Speaker 1: Why couldn't you just do that?
• 28:19
  Speaker 3: Or.
• 28:20
Speaker 1: Even better, just take your damn ice chest. It's that simple.
• 28:28
Speaker 1: Who doesn't take it? I take my ice chest everywhere
• 28:32
  Speaker 1: I go. You know, I mean, I just, that's what
• 28:35
Speaker 1: you do. Because you always got to be ready. R-A-4-2-5-4-7-7,
• 28:41
Speaker 1: we used to take our ice chest on Fremont Street,
• 28:45
Speaker 1: be rolling it around with us. Now they don't let
• 28:49
Speaker 1: you take it. They want you buying the beer from
• 28:51
Speaker 1: the strip. Oh, I didn't know that. They should let
• 28:53
Speaker 1: you roll with your ice chest. I didn't know that.
• 28:57
Speaker 2: Well, I got a Yeti backpack.
• 28:59
Speaker 1: What about those backpacks with the ice chest, with the
• 29:01
Speaker 1: ice that you can put your beer in or put
• 29:05
  Speaker 1: your water in?
• 29:05
Speaker 2: What about those? They let you walk around with those?
• 29:08
Speaker 1: That's wild. I didn't know they used to let you
• 29:10
Speaker 1: roll with an ice chest. But why would you not
• 29:13
Speaker 1: take your ice chest everywhere you go? You know.
• 29:19
Speaker 1: I used to roll when I'd.
• 29:21
Speaker 2: Drive a couple of hours.
• 29:23
Speaker 1: If you drive more than a couple of hours, you
• 29:25
Speaker 1: got to take your ice chest with you because you
• 29:27
Speaker 1: might have to stop. You might have to stop and
• 29:29
Speaker 1: have a drink along the side of the road. I
• 29:32
Speaker 1: guess people probably don't do that no more though, huh? R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7.
• 29:35
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 29:35
Speaker 2: So I was telling you.
• 29:40
Speaker 1: About one of my dumbass friends who went to Vegas,
• 29:43
Speaker 1: and he was mad because they wanted to charge him
• 29:47
Speaker 1: for a refrigerator. What happened was he had taken some
• 29:51
Speaker 1: beer and some liquor that he wanted to put in
• 29:53
Speaker 1: the fridge. Well, these refrigerators are the one that he
• 29:56
Speaker 1: got in his room, right? The one that he got
• 30:01
Speaker 1: in his room was one of the, you know, was
• 30:03
Speaker 1: one of those mini bars. And he was mad that
• 30:06
Speaker 1: there was no room to put his liquor in there, right,
• 30:09
Speaker 1: to keep it cold.
• 30:10
Speaker 2: Well, so he calls. They said they'll bring him one up.
• 30:14
Speaker 1: They'll bring an empty fridge up to his room, but
• 30:17
Speaker 1: they're going to charge him for it.
• 30:19
Speaker 2: And he was pissed.
• 30:20
Speaker 1: Well, no, that's on you, bro, not on the hotel.
• 30:23
Speaker 1: I get why you're mad, but why would your dumb
• 30:25
Speaker 1: ass not take it? Oh, I didn't want to roll
• 30:28
Speaker 1: my ice chest through the hotel lobby.
• 30:30
  Speaker 2: That's embarrassing. No, it's not.
• 30:33
Speaker 1: None of you are going to take your own booze.
• 30:36
Speaker 1: Nobody's even paying attention to you. Good morning, hot. What's
• 30:38
  Speaker 1: going on?
• 30:40
Speaker 9: Romeo, that's funny because Brady Dave takes his ice chest everywhere.
• 30:44
  Speaker 1: Everywhere.
• 30:45
Speaker 9: Everywhere and my wife always always criticizing me about it
• 30:48
  Speaker 9: she's like why don't.
• 30:48
Speaker 7: You leave that thing i said no no what if
• 30:50
  Speaker 7: i need a.
• 30:50
Speaker 9: Cold drink what if you know i gotta stay ready.
• 30:53
Speaker 1: Exactly that's who said who doesn't take their i got
• 30:56
Speaker 1: one in my truck right.
• 30:57
Speaker 10: Now everywhere and i'll tell you what it came in
• 31:02
Speaker 10: handy this saturday i went to a party and my
• 31:05
Speaker 10: wife tells me you don't have to take that ice
• 31:07
Speaker 10: shift they brought alcohol they have beer I said, yeah,
• 31:11
Speaker 10: but you know, I like to, I know my limit.
• 31:13
Speaker 9: I'll take a six pack after that.
• 31:14
  Speaker 8: I'm done.
• 31:15
Speaker 10: Yeah. So I took the ice chest just with maybe
• 31:19
Speaker 10: my flask and a few bottles.
• 31:23
  Speaker 7: I get there.
• 31:24
  Speaker 10: There's so much Modelo's.
• 31:26
Speaker 9: I started filling up my ice chest. I ended up
• 31:28
Speaker 9: leaving with like a 12 pack.
• 31:31
Speaker 10: I mean, it came in handy. There was beer left over,
• 31:33
Speaker 10: and they told me, hey, Dave, if you want to
• 31:35
Speaker 10: take some beer, go ahead.
• 31:36
Speaker 6: I was like, I already got my issue.
• 31:38
Speaker 1: I already got mine.
• 31:40
Speaker 7: I got my issue already.
• 31:42
Speaker 8: You ain't got to tell me twice.
• 31:44
Speaker 10: So anybody that ain't packing an ice chest, you're missing out.
• 31:49
Speaker 1: You're just an idiot. This boy, he's just an idiot.
• 31:53
Speaker 1: My boy's just embarrassed. I mean, come on. Yeah.
• 31:57
Speaker 10: And Vegas doesn't discriminate against that backpacking.
• 32:00
Speaker 1: Nobody's watching you. Nobody even gives a damn.
• 32:02
Speaker 10: Yeah, they're not going to pay attention because I walk
• 32:05
Speaker 10: around with a backpack, too, with my alcohol in there.
• 32:07
Speaker 1: I will tell you a funny story, Dave, about this, though,
• 32:10
Speaker 1: because I got some high-stodiddy friends. They think they're all
• 32:13
Speaker 1: doing something. And we went as a big group a
• 32:16
Speaker 1: few years back to Vegas. I took my ice chest
• 32:19
Speaker 1: because I knew I was staying in the left wing
• 32:21
Speaker 1: of some palazzo where the closest bar was 15 floors away.
• 32:26
Speaker 1: So I took my ice chest. All of these jackasses
• 32:30
Speaker 1: are talking about how rich they are and how good
• 32:32
Speaker 1: they are. Knocking on my door. Hey, can we get
• 32:33
Speaker 1: a beer? Nope. Take your ass. You were laughing at me.
• 32:38
Speaker 1: Telling me I'm cheap. Telling me I'm cheap. Telling me
• 32:41
Speaker 1: I can't afford nothing because I brought my ice. Take
• 32:44
Speaker 1: your ass down to the bar.
• 32:45
  Speaker 10: Nope.
• 32:47
Speaker 7: Got to work smarter, not harder.
• 32:48
  Speaker 4: Exactly.
• 32:48
  Speaker 7: All right.
• 32:49
Speaker 8: Get out of here.
• 32:51
  Speaker 2: But that's what I'm saying.
• 32:53
Speaker 1: I remember that. I went to Vegas.
• 32:54
Speaker 2: But I take a nice chest everywhere, though.
• 32:56
Speaker 1: But it worked out that time that I was, my
• 32:59
Speaker 1: room was like on the 20th floor or something. And
• 33:02
Speaker 1: all these jackasses were giving me hell talking about, oh,
• 33:06
Speaker 1: why are you so ghetto? You're so cheap. You're this,
• 33:08
Speaker 1: you're that. Well, then they come knocking on my door
• 33:12
Speaker 1: because they don't want to go down 20, take the
• 33:14
  Speaker 1: elevator down to.
• 33:15
Speaker 2: You know, they don't want to leave their room, you know,
• 33:17
Speaker 2: to go down and get a beer.
• 33:18
Speaker 1: Well, that's not me. Remember me? I'm the ghetto cheap
• 33:23
Speaker 1: one who doesn't want to take your ass on down
• 33:25
  Speaker 1: the elevator.
• 33:28
  Speaker 2: R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7.
• 33:29
Speaker 1: I am not embarrassed to take an ice chest anywhere
• 33:32
  Speaker 1: at all.
• 33:32
  Speaker 8: Good morning, God.
• 33:33
  Speaker 2: What's going on?
• 33:33
  Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
• 33:34
Speaker 4: Good morning, Romeo. Hey, what's up?
• 33:38
Speaker 3: Do you know who this is?
• 33:40
  Speaker 9: Yeah, it's Deidre.
• 33:41
Speaker 3: Hey, that's my baby.
• 33:43
  Speaker 6: That's my baby.
• 33:44
Speaker 3: I haven't seen you in a long time.
• 33:46
Speaker 1: Well, that's because you ain't where you've been.
• 33:49
  Speaker 3: Oh, I've been.
• 33:50
Speaker 9: I've been around, you know. But I was calling in, too,
• 33:58
Speaker 9: for that ice chest thing.
• 34:00
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 34:01
Speaker 7: What is wrong with him?
• 34:02
Speaker 8: That is the thing.
• 34:04
Speaker 9: Boy, you know you supposed to have some drinks and stuff.
• 34:06
Speaker 6: You need to bring your.
• 34:07
Speaker 9: Whatever it is you're going to put them in and
• 34:09
Speaker 9: bring it in the dang old hotel.
• 34:11
  Speaker 1: Exactly. Exactly.
• 34:14
  Speaker 10: I don't understand how a grown-ass man can lie there.
• 34:17
  Speaker 7: I know.
• 34:18
Speaker 1: What is wrong with him?
• 34:21
Speaker 9: Look, I even went with Wienerschnitzel yesterday, right? They have
• 34:26
Speaker 9: the cutest little Wienerschnitzel cooler bag.
• 34:28
Speaker 8: Think I didn't buy that shit?
• 34:30
Speaker 3: It's in my car right now. Yeah, so I got
• 34:37
Speaker 3: my stuff, too, and I'll take a bag like that, too,
• 34:40
  Speaker 3: everywhere I go.
• 34:40
Speaker 9: And some chairs be in my freaking trunk.
• 34:43
  Speaker 11: How about that?
• 34:43
Speaker 1: I don't know why people get us so embarrassed. Liquor's expensive.
• 34:47
  Speaker 7: It sure is.
• 34:49
  Speaker 11: I was.
• 34:50
Speaker 1: I was at the arena the other night for something,
• 34:55
  Speaker 1: and it was like $ 13, $ 18 a beer or something.
• 34:59
Speaker 1: I went to the liquor store on Saturday night and
• 35:01
Speaker 1: bought three Tallboys for $ 8. Oh, my goodness.
• 35:05
Speaker 9: My friends just went to this little free concert over.
• 35:08
Speaker 4: The weekend, and they said the drink was.
• 35:10
Speaker 9: $ 15 and was watered down.
• 35:14
Speaker 3: That's why we be stuffing stuff.
• 35:16
  Speaker 8: Exactly.
• 35:16
Speaker 1: That's why we bring our ice chests. Or a wiener
• 35:21
Speaker 1: schnitzel bag. I'm going to go give him one of those. Yeah, Romeo,
• 35:25
  Speaker 1: it's fun.
• 35:25
  Speaker 3: It's cute.
• 35:25
Speaker 9: I got a little hot dog to go with.
• 35:28
  Speaker 10: It, too.
• 35:30
Speaker 8: That lady said, oh, my God, thank you.
• 35:32
Speaker 9: Because I was like, that's so cute. It's real perfect
• 35:34
  Speaker 9: for my car.
• 35:35
Speaker 1: That's hilarious. All right, teacher.
• 35:38
  Speaker 3: Thanks for coming.
• 35:39
Speaker 9: I'll talk to you later, okay?
• 35:41
Speaker 1: All right. Have a good one.
• 35:42
  Speaker 9: Yeah, man.
• 35:43
Speaker 1: I mean, somebody just told me right now. They were
• 35:46
Speaker 1: talking about, yo, Rome, I take beer from home.
• 35:49
  Speaker 2: I ain't paying $ 11 for.
• 35:50
Speaker 1: A beer in Vegas. I don't care what people think.
• 35:53
  Speaker 1: I mean, liquor's expensive. Let's be honest, okay? I don't
• 35:56
Speaker 1: care how much money. I mean, look, I used to
• 35:59
Speaker 1: go to college. I didn't have much money. I still
• 36:02
Speaker 1: don't have a lot of money, but I used to
• 36:03
Speaker 1: take my food with me when we go to concerts
• 36:06
Speaker 1: because I couldn't afford to buy the snacks at the
• 36:09
Speaker 1: concerts or whatever we went somewhere. And people would laugh
• 36:13
Speaker 1: at me, but I couldn't afford it. But you know what?
• 36:15
Speaker 1: Still to this day, I will take stuff because even
• 36:17
Speaker 1: if I can't afford it, I get my own stuff,
• 36:21
  Speaker 1: what I like, and I don't have to overpay. It's
• 36:27
Speaker 1: not about being cheap. Well, sometimes it's about being cheap,
• 36:30
Speaker 1: but I mean, come on, man. If you got the
• 36:34
Speaker 1: choice of buying a tall boy for $ 18 or three
• 36:36
Speaker 1: for eight, What are you going to do?
• 36:43
Speaker 2: Just take it with you. What are you embarrassed about?
• 36:46
Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, weren't you the one that said if you
• 36:48
Speaker 1: can't afford it, you shouldn't be going? Yeah, I said
• 36:52
Speaker 1: that before. Like, if you go to a ball game,
• 36:54
Speaker 1: don't complain about, you know, beers, what are they, $ 20
• 36:57
Speaker 1: tall boys? Don't complain about it if you're at the
• 36:59
Speaker 1: Dodger game or if you go down to Dignity Health
• 37:02
Speaker 1: and the beers cost what they cost.
• 37:04
Speaker 2: Yes, I did say that.
• 37:07
Speaker 1: But going to Vegas and taking your ice chest to
• 37:09
Speaker 1: your hotel room It's not being cheap. It's being smart.
• 37:15
Speaker 1: I mean, if there's another option for you to save
• 37:17
Speaker 1: money and not waste it on alcohol, then yes, take
• 37:21
Speaker 1: that option. Bringing an ice chest is an option. Okay?
• 37:26
Speaker 2: So yeah, I get it.
• 37:27
Speaker 1: If I got to go somewhere where they don't let
• 37:29
Speaker 1: me take my ice chest and I got to buy beers,
• 37:32
  Speaker 1: then you're right. If I can afford it, I shouldn't
• 37:34
Speaker 1: be there. I shouldn't afford it. I shouldn't complain about it.
• 37:38
Speaker 1: But this fool's talking about how he had to pay
• 37:41
Speaker 1: $ 50 or something for an empty fridge brought up to
• 37:45
Speaker 1: his room so he can keep his beer cold when
• 37:47
Speaker 1: you could have just brought your ice chest. They make rollers.
• 37:50
Speaker 1: In fact, they got a nice one at Dick's right now.
• 37:52
Speaker 1: I saw one at Dick's. I saw one somewhere else, too,
• 37:56
Speaker 1: a Yeti one on wheels. It's like I.
• 37:59
Speaker 2: Haven't seen one of those yet.
• 38:01
Speaker 1: But, yeah, so we're having two different conversations here.
• 38:09
Speaker 2: R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7. He probably roamed.
• 38:12
Speaker 1: He probably only has a 65-quart ice chest and doesn't
• 38:15
Speaker 1: have a personal size ice chest with wheels or insulated backpack.
• 38:20
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I got about 15.
• 38:22
Speaker 1: I probably got about 20 ice chests in my garage
• 38:25
  Speaker 1: right now.
• 38:25
Speaker 2: You could have borrowed one. This dummy.
• 38:28
Speaker 1: I mean, that's just what you do.
• 38:30
Speaker 2: You bring an ice chest.
• 38:33
Speaker 1: We go, me and a bunch of friends, we all
• 38:35
Speaker 1: go to Pismo. for a weekend to play golf, and
• 38:41
Speaker 1: one friend gets the hotel on the beach. You know
• 38:45
Speaker 1: that hotel right there? The balcony is on the beach.
• 38:51
Speaker 1: You cross the boardwalk. One friend, and we just all
• 38:54
Speaker 1: put our ice chests right there on his balcony. That's
• 38:57
Speaker 1: where we hang out. Hey, Rome, this weekend I was there,
• 39:02
Speaker 1: and I took all my beers and my girl's white
• 39:05
Speaker 1: claws in a backpack. The minibar fridge was full, so
• 39:08
Speaker 1: I put ice in the sink and put my beverages
• 39:12
Speaker 1: in the sink, and I drank good all weekend. But
• 39:15
Speaker 1: why did you take a backpack? Why didn't you take
• 39:17
Speaker 1: an ice chest? Well, I guess you can carry your
• 39:21
Speaker 1: backpack when you're walking around. You don't have to go
• 39:23
Speaker 1: back to the room, right? But if there's another, when
• 39:26
Speaker 1: it comes to liquor, beer, whatever it is, White Claws,
• 39:30
Speaker 1: your girl stuff, I mean, if you can avoid overpaying
• 39:36
Speaker 1: and take your own, then why wouldn't you?
• 39:39
Speaker 2: Because you're embarrassed of an ice chest? That's just stupid.
• 39:43
Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, can you give a shout-out to my daughter, Liliana? Liliani?
• 39:47
  Speaker 8: Liliani?
• 39:48
Speaker 1: It's her 14th birthday. All right, 14. Happy birthday. About
• 39:53
Speaker 1: time you get her an ice chest, right? What did
• 39:56
Speaker 1: you got here? Hey, Rome, back in the day, I
• 39:59
Speaker 1: think my wife couldn't have weighed more than a buck 15.
• 40:03
Speaker 1: She snuck into Chipotle. She snuck into Chipotle burritos into
• 40:08
Speaker 1: a Condors game for us. She had hidden them in
• 40:11
Speaker 1: her bra. Oh, God.
• 40:15
Speaker 2: Can I just tell you one other thing.
• 40:16
Speaker 1: About your bra? And I just, maybe I'm wrong about this.
• 40:21
Speaker 1: Speaking of bras, why do you women stick your phones
• 40:24
  Speaker 1: in your bra?
• 40:24
Speaker 2: Is that nasty? I don't know.
• 40:26
Speaker 1: That just seems nasty to me for some reason. You
• 40:29
Speaker 1: stick your phones in your bra. That's, I don't know what,
• 40:32
Speaker 1: I don't know what that is, but that just seems dirty. Anyway, R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7-8, Rome.
• 40:36
Speaker 1: What you think about this? My husband and I, We
• 40:43
Speaker 1: had to go to a wedding over the summer. It
• 40:45
Speaker 1: was one of my nieces.
• 40:47
  Speaker 2: It was an.
• 40:48
Speaker 1: Alcohol-free wedding because they don't drink. So my husband took
• 40:53
Speaker 1: his own ice chest and just stuck it under the
• 40:55
Speaker 1: table with beer in it. I was so embarrassed that
• 40:59
Speaker 1: he did that. Nobody really paid much attention to it.
• 41:03
Speaker 1: I just knew it was there, Rome. Do you think
• 41:06
  Speaker 1: that's okay? I do think that's okay. If you're going
• 41:11
Speaker 1: to invite me to a wedding, in fact, I'll tell
• 41:13
Speaker 1: you a funny story. I went to a beautiful wedding.
• 41:17
Speaker 1: It might have been last year. I think it was
• 41:20
  Speaker 1: last year.
• 41:20
  Speaker 2: I can't remember.
• 41:21
  Speaker 10: It was either.
• 41:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it was... I think it.
• 41:24
Speaker 2: Was last year, yeah.
• 41:27
Speaker 1: Beautiful wedding. It was out on this resort area. They
• 41:31
Speaker 1: had houses and cabins that we stayed in. It was
• 41:33
Speaker 1: just beautiful. But it was alcohol-free because the kids didn't drink.
• 41:37
Speaker 1: The kids that got married didn't drink, right?
• 41:40
  Speaker 6: So.
• 41:41
Speaker 1: About halfway through, I asked the father of the bride.
• 41:43
Speaker 2: I said, do you mind if I go.
• 41:44
Speaker 1: Down to the liquor store and buy a 12-pack?
• 41:48
  Speaker 2: Well, a 30-pack.
• 41:51
Speaker 9: He goes, no, man.
• 41:52
Speaker 2: What are you talking about?
• 41:53
  Speaker 3: Go ahead.
• 41:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, hell yeah. He goes, my family, because everybody was
• 41:57
Speaker 1: staying in these cabins that the reception was next to.
• 42:00
Speaker 2: And they were just going to get their own liquor
• 42:01
Speaker 2: in their cabin. But I was trying to be respectful.
• 42:03
Speaker 2: But no, they were like, no, hell no. Go get
• 42:05
  Speaker 2: your beer.
• 42:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, if you go into a dry wedding
• 42:11
Speaker 1: and you're not dry, you know, you don't got your chip,
• 42:15
Speaker 1: then no, go ahead. It's okay to take it.
• 42:19
  Speaker 8: All right.
• 42:22
Speaker 1: I mean, don't be getting drunk and flaunting and being
• 42:24
Speaker 1: a jackass, you know, be, you know, sly about it,
• 42:26
Speaker 1: but no, hell no. What's going on?
• 42:29
Speaker 8: Romeo, Steeler Tyrone. Hey, Tyrone.
• 42:32
Speaker 1: What up, brother? I was just talking about you last night.
• 42:35
  Speaker 3: What's up?
• 42:35
Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, why? Now, Wild Patriots, Moss. That's all right. Hey,
• 42:41
Speaker 8: check us out, bro. You know you just started.
• 42:46
  Speaker 1: What you mean?
• 42:47
Speaker 8: So now when I go to Vegas, I'm going to
• 42:49
Speaker 8: recognize everybody from Bakersfield walking around with an ice check.
• 42:53
Speaker 10: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
• 42:58
  Speaker 1: Exactly.
• 42:59
Speaker 8: That's going to be the new thing. When I see
• 43:02
Speaker 8: him with that ice chest, I'm going to be like,
• 43:04
Speaker 8: Vegas Steel, Romeo Show, huh?
• 43:06
Speaker 1: Yeah. Not only, I end up usually driving to Vegas,
• 43:11
Speaker 1: so when I get off that ride, I pull out
• 43:13
Speaker 1: my ice chest, open a beer while we unload in
• 43:15
Speaker 1: the car. Sit right there.
• 43:18
Speaker 8: Hey, look. You know, I drive for a living. So
• 43:22
Speaker 8: my ice chest, I got the new one. You plug in.
• 43:25
Speaker 8: It can be a freezer or a refrigerator. I can
• 43:28
Speaker 8: drop this thing down to four below.
• 43:30
Speaker 1: Dang, I ain't got that kind of money. But okay.
• 43:33
Speaker 8: I'm just saying, though, bro. You got to get that
• 43:35
Speaker 8: new ice chest. You got to get that new one.
• 43:38
Speaker 8: You plug it in. Everything stay cold all the way there.
• 43:41
Speaker 8: You ain't got to worry about no ice.
• 43:44
Speaker 2: I'm going to have to look into that one.
• 43:46
Speaker 8: Yeah, that's right, baby. Hey, y'all be good. Have a
• 43:49
  Speaker 8: good one.
• 43:49
  Speaker 1: All right, Tyrone.
• 43:50
  Speaker 8: Later. Later.
• 43:53
  Speaker 1: Man, I don't got me no plug-in ice chest. I
• 43:56
Speaker 1: got me a Yeti, though. I do like that Yeti. Hey, Ron,
• 44:00
Speaker 1: what's up? Oh, I already read that one. All right, R-A-4-2-5-4-7-7.
• 44:05
Speaker 1: You sent me here. Yo, Ron, the phone, the bra thing,
• 44:10
Speaker 1: our hands are full, and my bra holds it for me.
• 44:13
Speaker 1: Or I don't have pockets in my bra. What is
• 44:16
Speaker 1: nasty about it? Oh, what?
• 44:18
Speaker 2: I don't have pockets in my bra. What is nasty?
• 44:21
Speaker 1: That's sweat. And that's what's nasty about it. When you
• 44:24
Speaker 1: stick stuff in your bra. I remember I was at somewhere.
• 44:27
Speaker 1: Where was I? I was over on the south side
• 44:30
Speaker 1: of town somewhere. And Floyd's Hardware had a sign that
• 44:35
Speaker 1: said no bra money. You can't pull money out. They
• 44:39
Speaker 1: won't accept money pulled out of your bra.
• 44:41
  Speaker 2: That's just nasty.
• 44:42
  Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
• 44:43
Speaker 2: All right, 8-4-2-5-4-7-7. Good morning, Hop. What's going on?
• 44:47
  Speaker 8: Good morning, Romeo.
• 44:48
Speaker 11: Hey, what up, man?
• 44:49
  Speaker 1: Hey, man.
• 44:50
Speaker 3: I used to talk about you taking your beer to
• 44:54
  Speaker 3: the beach.
• 44:54
  Speaker 1: Yeah, well, yeah.
• 44:56
Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I go every other weekend. I go with
• 45:00
Speaker 9: the kids, and you spend money at Pismo. I mean,
• 45:02
  Speaker 9: it's expensive.
• 45:04
Speaker 3: So I have it a habit.
• 45:05
Speaker 5: We go, and we'll take backpacks, and we'll take.
• 45:09
Speaker 3: I think just mostly backpacking and put the beer inside
• 45:11
Speaker 3: because now they make backpacks with the ice chest inside.
• 45:14
  Speaker 8: Oh, absolutely.
• 45:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, I got two of them.
• 45:16
Speaker 9: Yeah, so we take those and, you know, with the food,
• 45:18
Speaker 9: we get that food stamp card ready and we just
• 45:20
Speaker 9: go shopping at Walmart.
• 45:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, that makes sense.
• 45:23
  Speaker 8: Why not?
• 45:24
Speaker 1: Go into the beach, hang out.
• 45:26
Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, so if you're going to go and
• 45:29
Speaker 5: you want to have the money and spend it, why
• 45:30
Speaker 5: not use, like you said, use the ability that you
• 45:32
Speaker 5: have to save money?
• 45:34
Speaker 1: Oh, 100%. Yeah, I don't, well, because people are jackasses.
• 45:39
Speaker 1: They want to judge you like, no, if I don't
• 45:41
Speaker 1: got to spend the money, why would I? Yeah, no,
• 45:43
  Speaker 1: I get it.
• 45:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, we take sandwiches with the kids and all,
• 45:47
Speaker 3: but people be looking at you giving this, oh, because
• 45:49
Speaker 3: they have all this dinner and all, but hey, I
• 45:51
Speaker 3: try to save some money. I got four kids, man.
• 45:52
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but you know how people are. They want
• 45:54
Speaker 1: to step on you to make themselves feel better.
• 45:57
Speaker 5: Hey, but hey, at least we got you to back
• 45:59
  Speaker 5: us up.
• 46:00
  Speaker 8: Exactly.
• 46:02
  Speaker 1: I don't give a damn, bro. I will roll up
• 46:04
Speaker 1: anywhere on my ice chest, my beer, my food, and
• 46:07
Speaker 1: not give a damn about what you think.
• 46:10
Speaker 5: Hey, man, that's why we love you.
• 46:11
  Speaker 1: That's why I love you.
• 46:13
Speaker 3: That's why I love you, brother.
• 46:14
Speaker 1: Have a good day. You too, man. R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7. You should
• 46:19
Speaker 1: never care what somebody thinks about you when you're doing you,
• 46:22
Speaker 1: you know? I hope that every single one of you
• 46:26
Speaker 1: listening has a great story to tell. A crazy story,
• 46:31
  Speaker 1: a wild night, a wild weekend. I don't know, just
• 46:35
Speaker 1: something crazy happened to you. I have a lot of them.
• 46:43
Speaker 1: I have a lot of wild things I've done in
• 46:46
Speaker 1: my life. Probably why the show, I can get away
• 46:49
Speaker 1: with doing this show for so many years is because
• 46:51
  Speaker 1: I've been through a lot.
• 46:52
Speaker 2: I've seen a lot. I've done a lot, good and bad.
• 46:56
Speaker 1: You know, I could tell you stories that you wouldn't
• 47:00
Speaker 1: even believe I've been through. I mean, I could start
• 47:03
Speaker 1: my boy. Oh, my boy T-Bone. Thomas Ingram. My buddy T-Bone.
• 47:11
Speaker 1: We met years ago. We raced BMX bikes together. Yeah,
• 47:15
  Speaker 1: we raced BMX.
• 47:16
Speaker 2: We were friends. We're still friends, actually.
• 47:19
Speaker 1: But this fool, the first time I used to hang
• 47:22
Speaker 1: out with T-Bone, nobody would go with T-Bone because he
• 47:24
Speaker 1: was a punk rock dude.
• 47:26
Speaker 2: He was a dirtbag.
• 47:27
Speaker 1: He just was, you know, just dreads, just crazy dude,
• 47:34
  Speaker 1: you know.
• 47:35
Speaker 2: He was, it was so funny.
• 47:39
Speaker 1: He took me to see, do you guys remember Metallica?
• 47:43
Speaker 1: He took me to see Metallica before they were huge
• 47:48
Speaker 1: in a basement in the Bay Area. The basement didn't
• 47:53
  Speaker 1: even have a floor, a dirt floor. I didn't even
• 47:55
Speaker 1: know a house could have a dirt floor.
• 47:57
  Speaker 2: I saw metallic.
• 48:00
  Speaker 1: I didn't even know who they were. I wasn't really
• 48:03
Speaker 1: into that kind of music, but he was, he was just, Oh,
• 48:05
Speaker 1: just into that hardcore punk. He took me to some spots, boy. And, um, yeah,
• 48:13
Speaker 1: I got all kinds of wild stories. Then I got
• 48:15
Speaker 1: in a raid. This is before I got into radio. Um,
• 48:20
Speaker 1: I remember one time I was sitting at a stage,
• 48:22
Speaker 1: sitting along, just sitting by a stage at a car show,
• 48:27
Speaker 1: and next to me was a Leon R.
• 48:28
Speaker 2: Kelly. Just standing next to me, I look over, and
• 48:30
  Speaker 2: it's a Leon R. Kelly, and I'm like, damn, it's
• 48:33
  Speaker 2: a Leon R.
• 48:34
Speaker 1: Kelly. I'm trying to think of some of the crazy
• 48:38
Speaker 1: stories I got. But everybody should have a great story, right? Like,
• 48:45
Speaker 1: just you and your friends, everyone. Like, I could tell
• 48:47
Speaker 1: you a story, me and my friends, We used to
• 48:50
Speaker 1: go out clubbing, but we wouldn't club in our own
• 48:53
Speaker 1: town because in the, you know, up in the Bay Area,
• 48:56
Speaker 1: all the clubs were spread out, different cities, every club.
• 48:59
Speaker 1: You know, sometimes this club would be hot, that club
• 49:01
Speaker 1: would be hot in a different town. So we'd have
• 49:03
Speaker 1: to roll out to, you know, it might be a
• 49:04
Speaker 1: half hour drive to go to the club. That was popping.
• 49:09
Speaker 2: So we would go to the club.
• 49:12
Speaker 1: One time I ended up in, where the hell did
• 49:16
Speaker 1: we end up? We ended up in Redwood City. Was
• 49:18
Speaker 1: it Redwood? Not Redwood City. gosh, I can't think of
• 49:23
Speaker 1: where we ended up, but we ended up in this town,
• 49:26
Speaker 1: about a half hour, 45 minutes away from the house,
• 49:30
Speaker 1: and got left there, my boy was just like, look man,
• 49:33
Speaker 1: I'm gonna hook up with this girl, he was driving,
• 49:36
Speaker 1: so they took off, And we were just stuck in this.
• 49:40
Speaker 2: It might have been Daly City.
• 49:41
Speaker 1: Was it Daly City? I can't remember where it was exactly. But, yeah,
• 49:47
Speaker 1: me and two of my boys were just stuck there.
• 49:49
Speaker 1: We had to figure out how to get home. I mean,
• 49:53
  Speaker 1: we ended.
• 49:53
  Speaker 2: Up getting home.
• 49:53
Speaker 1: We called somebody, and we ended up getting home. Oh,
• 49:56
Speaker 1: I can tell you a crazy story. Back in the day,
• 50:01
Speaker 1: you remember, a lot of you won't remember this, but
• 50:03
Speaker 1: back in the day, San Francisco had this huge earthquake.
• 50:08
Speaker 2: I think the Giants were in the World Series. I
• 50:10
Speaker 2: don't remember what year. It was 90.
• 50:11
Speaker 1: Me and my boy Al, we were in San Jose.
• 50:16
Speaker 1: We stopped to get gas in the town that we
• 50:20
Speaker 1: lived in, which is about 30 minutes from San Jose.
• 50:25
Speaker 1: The earthquake hits. We don't think much of it. We
• 50:28
Speaker 1: just go, hey, because we're used to earthquakes. We go,
• 50:32
Speaker 1: I got enough gas to get to San Jose to
• 50:34
Speaker 1: the bike track. So we roll to the bike track.
• 50:36
Speaker 1: Come to find out, it was a huge earthquake. Everything
• 50:42
  Speaker 1: shut down.
• 50:44
Speaker 2: Guess what? We don't have enough gas to get home.
• 50:46
Speaker 1: So we're stuck in San Jose because of this disaster
• 50:49
Speaker 1: for like 10 hours. So, yeah, man, I've been through
• 50:56
  Speaker 1: some things.
• 50:57
Speaker 2: I got some great stories to tell you guys.
• 51:00
  Speaker 1: R-8-4-2-5-4-7-7.
• 51:02
Speaker 2: You got a good story?
• 51:03
Speaker 1: Who's got a good story, man? If you don't have
• 51:05
Speaker 1: a good story, I feel sorry for you because that
• 51:07
Speaker 1: means you haven't really lived life or done anything that,
• 51:11
  Speaker 1: you know, you.
• 51:12
Speaker 2: Should get out a little more.
• 51:15
Speaker 1: R-8-4-2-5-4-7-7. What's the best story you tell? What's the story
• 51:19
Speaker 1: that you and your friends tell every single time you
• 51:23
  Speaker 1: get together?
• 51:25
  Speaker 9: Hey, Romeo.
• 51:25
  Speaker 3: Hey, Romeo.
• 51:27
Speaker 11: That was in 81 because I was getting choked out. Wait, what?
• 51:33
Speaker 11: I was getting choked. My husband, that's when we first
• 51:36
Speaker 11: kind of got married. And I was getting choked out.
• 51:38
Speaker 11: And they was having the World Series. And the Bay
• 51:41
  Speaker 11: Bridge had crashed.
• 51:42
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 51:44
Speaker 11: That was in 81. I know it so well because
• 51:46
Speaker 11: it was the day I was getting choked out. And
• 51:48
Speaker 11: I was like, okay, God, stop this, okay?
• 51:51
  Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
• 51:54
Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. That's not a good
• 51:59
Speaker 1: story to tell everybody. Oh, my God.
• 52:04
Speaker 11: They don't know who I am.
• 52:05
Speaker 1: Oh, wow. That's awesome. Yeah, yeah.
• 52:10
  Speaker 3: 81.
• 52:10
  Speaker 5: That was something.
• 52:11
Speaker 3: I remember that like it was yesterday.
• 52:14
  Speaker 10: Wow.
• 52:15
Speaker 3: The walls got to clicking.
• 52:17
Speaker 11: He looked up like, okay.
• 52:20
  Speaker 6: Wow.
• 52:20
Speaker 11: To this day, though, to this day now, I'm taking care.
• 52:24
Speaker 4: Of him because he's disabled now.
• 52:28
  Speaker 8: Oh, my God.
• 52:31
Speaker 1: All right. Thanks for calling.
• 52:33
Speaker 11: Let another earthquake come, I'll leave him.
• 52:36
  Speaker 1: Oh, jeez.
• 52:38
  Speaker 7: Wow.
• 52:39
  Speaker 4: All right.
• 52:40
  Speaker 6: I know.
• 52:40
  Speaker 4: All right.
• 52:40
  Speaker 3: Okay.
• 52:41
  Speaker 6: Thanks for calling.
• 52:41
Speaker 11: That's my story of the day, and I'm sticking with it.
• 52:44
Speaker 1: I love it. Thanks for calling. Oh, my God.
• 52:48
Speaker 2: You shouldn't tell every story. R-D-4-2-5-4-7.
• 52:51
Speaker 1: Yo, Rome, I went to work in Vegas. Went for
• 52:54
Speaker 1: one drink. We ended up partying with a random little
• 52:57
  Speaker 1: person in Vegas.
• 52:58
  Speaker 3: Okay. Okay.
• 53:00
Speaker 1: I remember a woman telling me one time she stabbed
• 53:02
Speaker 1: her husband twice, and they were still together. Come on,
• 53:09
Speaker 1: you guys all got a great story. R-8-4-2-5-4, 7-7, what
• 53:13
Speaker 1: is yours? What story you got? Everybody's got a story.
• 53:15
Speaker 1: At least I hope all of you have at least
• 53:17
Speaker 1: one story that is a good story, something you always tell.
• 53:24
Speaker 1: I remember I was walking into a club one night,
• 53:27
Speaker 1: and I look over, and kid... Kid and player standing
• 53:30
Speaker 1: next to me. And I look up because we're going
• 53:32
Speaker 1: in the same VIP area.
• 53:34
Speaker 2: And I look up.
• 53:36
Speaker 1: Hey, what up, kid?
• 53:37
Speaker 2: He just looked at me.
• 53:38
  Speaker 8: What up, man?
• 53:40
Speaker 1: Same thing happened with Ronnie Lott. I was on the sideline.
• 53:42
Speaker 1: I was on the field one time and watching them
• 53:46
Speaker 1: warm up. And I look over. Ronnie Lott's standing next
• 53:49
Speaker 1: to me. And I said, hey, what up, Ronnie? You're
• 53:52
  Speaker 1: Ronnie Lott.
• 53:53
Speaker 2: He goes, I know I am. I said, man, can
• 53:55
Speaker 2: I see the pinky?
• 53:56
Speaker 1: Can I see the finger?
• 53:57
Speaker 2: He's like, yes, you can.
• 54:01
Speaker 1: The people I work with are like, did you really
• 54:02
Speaker 1: just ask him that? I said, yeah, that's one of
• 54:05
Speaker 1: the most famous stories.
• 54:06
Speaker 2: Of course I'm going to ask him.
• 54:09
  Speaker 7: Good morning, Don.
• 54:09
  Speaker 2: What's going on?
• 54:10
Speaker 8: Yo, yo, what's going on, bro?
• 54:12
  Speaker 11: Good morning.
• 54:13
  Speaker 6: What up, bro?
• 54:14
Speaker 8: I think I got a pretty chill story.
• 54:16
Speaker 1: What do you got?
• 54:17
Speaker 5: So, you know the movie Friday, right? I'm sure everybody does.
• 54:20
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 54:21
Speaker 5: Always, always quoting the lines from Friday. Anything I want,
• 54:24
Speaker 5: give me my money. And, you know, what you got
• 54:27
Speaker 5: on my 40s kind of things, you know. And one
• 54:30
  Speaker 5: day we're.
• 54:31
  Speaker 9: At the mall.
• 54:32
Speaker 5: Back when, you know, people hung out at the mall.
• 54:34
Speaker 5: And I said a quote from the movie Pride, and
• 54:37
Speaker 5: my friend's like, yo, man, shut up about that movie already, bro. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
• 54:42
Speaker 5: you have to stop this, you know?
• 54:43
Speaker 8: And then all of a sudden I go, oh, here
• 54:46
Speaker 8: comes Debo. And he's like, dude, what did I say?
• 54:48
Speaker 8: Shut up about that movie. I'm like, bro, no, look,
• 54:51
Speaker 8: here comes Debo for real.
• 54:53
Speaker 5: Here comes Zeus Lester walking down the mall with his
• 54:56
  Speaker 5: tiny little wife.
• 54:57
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 54:58
Speaker 5: And then all of a sudden, we just looked at
• 54:59
Speaker 5: each other, and he's like, yo, man, I'm sorry. I'm
• 55:02
Speaker 5: never going to tell you to shut up about that
• 55:03
  Speaker 5: movie ever again.
• 55:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, he used to come do events at the shoe stores.
• 55:10
Speaker 1: I don't know if he owned it or not, but yeah,
• 55:12
Speaker 1: back in the day, he'd come to Bakersfield a lot, actually.
• 55:15
  Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
• 55:17
  Speaker 8: Yeah, man.
• 55:18
Speaker 5: And I always, I always have to bring up that story, man.
• 55:21
  Speaker 1: That's a great story, man. Absolutely. That's a great story.
• 55:25
Speaker 1: All right, brother. Thanks for calling.
• 55:28
Speaker 2: Everybody's got, you gotta have at least one, right?
• 55:31
Speaker 1: You gotta have at least one really good story. All right. Eight, four, two, five, four, seven, seven.
• 55:38
Speaker 1: Like I remember one time, uh, we were in Mexico and,
• 55:44
Speaker 1: We were at Papa's and Beers, and I took one
• 55:46
Speaker 1: of my buddies with us, and he was scared of
• 55:49
Speaker 1: Mexico because we were sitting there. And you know how
• 55:52
Speaker 1: you and Papa's and Beers, you got the guys with
• 55:54
Speaker 1: guns and the military or the police there, but they're
• 55:57
Speaker 1: not really there to mess with you, man. They're just
• 55:59
Speaker 1: there to make sure nothing happens to you. So I
• 56:01
Speaker 1: went into the bathroom, and the guy had done a
• 56:04
Speaker 1: sweep in the bathroom. I said, hey, man, can you
• 56:07
Speaker 1: cuff me up and walk me out in front of
• 56:09
Speaker 1: my friend because he's so nervous that you guys are here.
• 56:12
Speaker 2: And he was like, yeah, I can do that.
• 56:15
Speaker 1: So they cuffed me up and walked me out. And oh,
• 56:19
Speaker 1: my God, my boy just freaked out.
• 56:22
Speaker 2: But it was so funny.
• 56:24
Speaker 1: Like I said, man.
• 56:26
Speaker 2: I got a ton of stories to tell you. I
• 56:28
  Speaker 2: got a lot.
• 56:29
Speaker 7: Okay, so this one right here, I don't tell, but
• 56:32
Speaker 7: everybody else tells it. Okay, so I was.
• 56:37
Speaker 4: Drunk one night, and I smoked a little, and I
• 56:41
Speaker 4: went to my son's friend's house and asked him if
• 56:42
Speaker 4: I could crash out there, and he said, yeah, my
• 56:44
  Speaker 4: brother's coming.
• 56:46
Speaker 7: I'm going to crash on the couch. Go ahead and
• 56:47
  Speaker 7: take my bed.
• 56:48
  Speaker 6: I said, okay.
• 56:48
Speaker 7: Well, in the morning, he calls my son. He's like, hey,
• 56:51
Speaker 7: can you come get your mom? I think I need
• 56:52
Speaker 7: to tell you this before anybody else finds out. He's like, what?
• 56:55
Speaker 7: So he comes over and he goes, last night I
• 56:57
Speaker 7: was asleep. I don't know what woke me up, but
• 56:59
Speaker 7: I woke up and looked across the room.
• 57:01
Speaker 4: There was your mom, butt naked with a cowboy heater
• 57:04
  Speaker 4: between her legs.
• 57:05
Speaker 9: I said, homegirl, what are you doing?
• 57:07
Speaker 4: She goes, I'm cooking your dinner, homeboy.
• 57:09
  Speaker 9: What is wrong?
• 57:12
Speaker 4: And that circulated all over town.
• 57:14
Speaker 7: I was so embarrassed.
• 57:16
  Speaker 4: Wait.
• 57:17
  Speaker 8: Wow.
• 57:18
  Speaker 1: Well, that's a great story.
• 57:20
Speaker 4: That was off the hook. I still hear it to
• 57:22
  Speaker 4: this day.
• 57:23
Speaker 7: I just heard it last night. How embarrassing is that?
• 57:29
Speaker 1: I mean, we do embarrassing stuff, man. We just do
• 57:32
  Speaker 1: stupid things.
• 57:33
  Speaker 9: I know.
• 57:34
  Speaker 7: It was stupid.
• 57:36
Speaker 4: I'd never been with this guy or anything, and he
• 57:37
Speaker 4: was real good looking. I was so embarrassed that I
• 57:40
Speaker 4: was naked in front of him.
• 57:42
  Speaker 6: That's great.
• 57:43
Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. That's awesome.
• 57:45
Speaker 4: Okay, I'll talk to you later.
• 57:46
  Speaker 11: Bye.
• 57:47
Speaker 1: I mean, look, man, if you can't have fun with
• 57:50
Speaker 1: your life, sometimes we do stupid things, sometimes, and we
• 57:53
Speaker 1: live to tell about it, and we just tell the story, man,
• 57:55
Speaker 1: because it is what it is, right? I'm glad that
• 57:59
Speaker 1: she was okay with telling her story. R-8-4-2-5-4-7-0-7. Everybody's got
• 58:04
Speaker 1: at least one great story, right? Some of your stories
• 58:07
Speaker 1: turn into legends. Some of your stories get distorted and
• 58:10
Speaker 1: turn into something else.
• 58:11
Speaker 2: But everybody's got a great story. At least I hope
• 58:14
Speaker 2: you do. I got so many stories, man. I've been
• 58:16
Speaker 2: through so much, so much fun stuff in my life.
• 58:19
  Speaker 1: It's unbelievable.
• 58:20
Speaker 4: Hey, Nathan, I know I called you and gave you
• 58:22
Speaker 4: a story, but I got a pretty good one, another one.
• 58:25
  Speaker 1: What happened?
• 58:27
Speaker 4: Okay, so I was starting a stripping company, so I
• 58:31
Speaker 4: had a lot of girls. And one of my friends
• 58:32
Speaker 4: called me, and she told me, Julie, come downtown and
• 58:36
Speaker 4: bring your girls because we're having a mud wrestling contest.
• 58:40
Speaker 9: And I said, all right.
• 58:41
Speaker 7: So I gathered some girls up, and we went down there. Well,
• 58:43
  Speaker 7: I looked around. I didn't see– there was a lot
• 58:45
Speaker 7: of people. And I looked around. I didn't see anybody
• 58:47
Speaker 7: I knew. And so I said, well, I'll do it.
• 58:50
Speaker 7: So I go up there, and I'd never mud.
• 58:52
Speaker 4: Wrestled before, you know. So I go up there, and
• 58:54
Speaker 4: I'm thinking, for reals, I need to slam this chick,
• 58:56
  Speaker 4: you know.
• 58:57
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 58:57
Speaker 4: So we get up there and we're wearing these little
• 58:59
Speaker 4: tassels and G-strings. And then when they ring that bell,
• 59:02
Speaker 4: I slam her into the mud. You know, I'm not
• 59:04
Speaker 4: knowing that it's supposed to be like for fun, you know,
• 59:07
  Speaker 4: to look good.
• 59:08
Speaker 7: I just slammed her.
• 59:09
Speaker 4: And she gets up, and she's bawling her eyes out,
• 59:11
Speaker 4: and her boyfriend comes up on the stage, and he
• 59:13
Speaker 4: comes running up there to me, and so I slammed him, too.
• 59:16
  Speaker 7: Oh, my God!
• 59:17
Speaker 3: And, yeah, they got pictures.
• 59:18
Speaker 7: Of all of it and everything, you know? It was
• 59:20
Speaker 7: pretty funny. But this is the worst of it.
• 59:23
Speaker 6: My son calls me.
• 59:24
Speaker 4: My son and my husband both went to jail the
• 59:26
Speaker 4: night before. And they're both calling me saying, what are
• 59:28
Speaker 4: you doing? My son's like, mom, my friends were out there.
• 59:31
Speaker 4: They're the ones who let me know.
• 59:32
Speaker 7: And I'm like, oh, my God. I didn't even think
• 59:34
Speaker 7: of his friends. You know what I mean? I just
• 59:37
Speaker 7: look around, didn't see anybody I knew.
• 59:39
  Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
• 59:40
Speaker 1: That is so great. That is so great.
• 59:43
  Speaker 10: Thanks for calling.
• 59:44
Speaker 1: I appreciate this call back. I got a funny story
• 59:46
Speaker 1: about a stripper I'll tell you in a minute.
• 59:48
  Speaker 3: Good morning.
• 59:49
Speaker 1: How's it going on?
• 59:50
Speaker 6: Oh, that was a great story. But he should have
• 59:53
Speaker 6: started it off with, hey, I know I didn't call
• 59:55
Speaker 6: last week when my Rams lost.
• 59:57
  Speaker 8: Oh, I know.
• 59:58
Speaker 6: Hey, you know what, man? I've got more stories than
• 1:00:02
Speaker 6: Stephen King, man. I sent you one last week. You
• 1:00:04
  Speaker 6: didn't even respond.
• 1:00:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I don't remember. I got so many stuff.
• 1:00:11
Speaker 6: Well, look on your phone, man.
• 1:00:13
Speaker 2: I'll check it out.
• 1:00:13
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 1:00:14
Speaker 6: Because that's a great one because of the fact that,
• 1:00:18
  Speaker 6: you know.
• 1:00:21
Speaker 6: Aaron judge doesn't, he doesn't sign everybody's stuff. So I'll look.
• 1:00:25
Speaker 1: I'll look, I'll go back right now. All right. I
• 1:00:29
Speaker 1: do got a funny story about a stripper now, by
• 1:00:31
Speaker 1: the way. Um, I was at, uh, when I, uh,
• 1:00:35
Speaker 1: this was probably what, 20 years ago I was in Bakersfield. Oh,
• 1:00:38
Speaker 1: I was living here and a buddy of mine is, uh,
• 1:00:41
Speaker 1: getting married. And so he's having a bachelor party. And so,
• 1:00:46
Speaker 1: I don't normally go to those things. Even my friends,
• 1:00:48
Speaker 1: I don't normally go to bachelor parties. I don't normally go,
• 1:00:51
  Speaker 1: I don't, I've never gone to a strip club or
• 1:00:53
Speaker 1: anything like that. Um, and I'm sitting there, but he
• 1:00:58
Speaker 1: convinces me to go. And I, uh, so I go
• 1:01:03
Speaker 1: and we're sitting there and the strippers show up. There's
• 1:01:07
Speaker 1: two strippers, right? And they show up and, uh, the, uh,
• 1:01:13
Speaker 1: Everybody's kind of waiting, waiting, waiting.
• 1:01:14
Speaker 2: What's going on? What's going on? Finally, my buddy comes
• 1:01:18
  Speaker 2: up to me.
• 1:01:18
Speaker 1: He goes, hey, man.
• 1:01:19
Speaker 2: He goes, I don't want to be rude to you,
• 1:01:22
Speaker 2: but the strippers, they're not going to come on.
• 1:01:26
Speaker 1: If you're here because I'm on the radio. It cracked
• 1:01:31
Speaker 1: me up. It was funny because I didn't even want
• 1:01:33
Speaker 1: to go to the first place. So I only went
• 1:01:36
Speaker 1: because he asked me to. Yeah, so I ended up
• 1:01:40
Speaker 1: leaving so the strippers could perform. I thought that was
• 1:01:42
Speaker 1: pretty funny. Hey, Romeo, I know you lying. You ain't
• 1:01:45
Speaker 1: never been to a strip club. Every guy's gone to
• 1:01:47
Speaker 1: a strip club. No, I'm not lying. I never been
• 1:01:53
Speaker 1: to a strip club before. I mean, yeah, no reason
• 1:01:58
Speaker 1: to go. In fact, when I was my very first
• 1:02:02
  Speaker 1: radio show, I worked from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m. No,
• 1:02:06
  Speaker 1: I'm sorry, 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.
• 1:02:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, was that right?
• 1:02:09
Speaker 1: Yeah, because 10 to 2. was the overnight show, the
• 1:02:13
Speaker 1: slow jam show. It wasn't here in Bakersfield, but my
• 1:02:16
Speaker 1: first radio show was, uh, 2 AM to 6 AM.
• 1:02:20
Speaker 1: So the radio station I worked for, like I said,
• 1:02:25
Speaker 1: it wasn't here in Bakersfield. Um, the strip club actually
• 1:02:29
Speaker 1: advertised with the radio station. Um, some big, it was
• 1:02:33
Speaker 1: a big strip club and the strippers, some of the
• 1:02:36
Speaker 1: strippers would actually, after they got up, they knew I
• 1:02:40
Speaker 1: was at work. Um, I mean, I got to know
• 1:02:43
Speaker 1: them because I, you know, you'd have to do remote
• 1:02:45
Speaker 1: sometimes with them or whatever. But they would show up
• 1:02:49
Speaker 1: at the radio station after they got off with their
• 1:02:52
Speaker 1: dinner or, you know, to unwind. They would just hang
• 1:02:56
Speaker 1: out like regular people. No hanky-panky, no nothing. So I
• 1:03:01
Speaker 1: knew a bunch of strippers.
• 1:03:03
Speaker 2: You know, they were cool. They were just girls going
• 1:03:05
  Speaker 2: to work.
• 1:03:06
Speaker 1: No craziness, no nothing.
• 1:03:09
Speaker 2: But, yeah, so I.
• 1:03:10
Speaker 1: Maybe that's why I've never been to a strip club,
• 1:03:12
Speaker 1: because I would hang out with them at this radio
• 1:03:14
Speaker 1: station when I was working. They'd stop by. They'd have dinner,
• 1:03:17
Speaker 1: talk for a little bit.
• 1:03:18
Speaker 2: Then they'd all go home.
• 1:03:19
Speaker 1: But yeah, maybe that's why.
• 1:03:20
Speaker 2: Because it just, I don't know.
• 1:03:22
Speaker 1: But it was nothing crazy going on. They're just, you know,
• 1:03:25
Speaker 1: getting off work, stopping by to say hi. But yeah,
• 1:03:29
  Speaker 1: I've never, no, I wouldn't lie to you. I've never
• 1:03:30
Speaker 1: been to a strip club. In fact, not only have
• 1:03:33
Speaker 1: I never been to a strip club, I've never seen
• 1:03:36
Speaker 1: a woman strip. I have never seen a woman strip.
• 1:03:40
Speaker 1: I've seen a morning show strip. The first station I
• 1:03:43
Speaker 1: worked for was the morning show was a guy and
• 1:03:48
Speaker 1: a girl, and she was getting married, so her partner,
• 1:03:51
Speaker 1: he and the other guy on the show, they did
• 1:03:54
Speaker 1: a striptease act. They had a promotion kind of thing
• 1:03:58
Speaker 1: with her at the strip club, and the guy, her
• 1:04:00
Speaker 1: partner on the morning show, they did a striptease act
• 1:04:02
Speaker 1: on stage, but I've never seen a girl strip, ever.
• 1:04:08
Speaker 1: But it was a joke, you know, because she was
• 1:04:10
  Speaker 1: getting married.
• 1:04:10
Speaker 6: All right. Hey, Rome.
• 1:04:11
Speaker 1: At one time, me and my boys got strippers at
• 1:04:13
Speaker 1: the pad. They rolled up with a security guard. It
• 1:04:16
Speaker 1: was about 10. There was about 10 or 15 in.
• 1:04:20
Speaker 2: A circle while the girls were stripping.
• 1:04:22
Speaker 1: I sat next to the security guard who was also
• 1:04:25
Speaker 1: watching the girls who were putting all their money into
• 1:04:27
Speaker 1: a duffel bag next to him. He wasn't paying attention.
• 1:04:31
Speaker 1: I reached in, grabbed a handful of money and started
• 1:04:34
Speaker 1: making it rain. The girls went crazy. Started shaking booty
• 1:04:38
Speaker 1: like crazy with recycled ones.
• 1:04:40
  Speaker 7: God.
• 1:04:43
  Speaker 2: Man, that's cold.
• 1:04:45
Speaker 1: That's cold. That's a cold story right there, boy.
• 1:04:49
Speaker 8: Romeo in the morning.
• 1:04:50
  Speaker 1: Every morning.
• 1:04:51
  Speaker 3: 94.1.
