- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So oh look at that right next to me and on the money this
- 0:34morning. So today we are talking about
- 0:38something funny that happened because I was out early this
- 0:43morning and I went out Christmas shopping, a little bit early and
- 0:48left the house at 6 a.m. to make a run to Walmart and before I
- 0:54got to open the chicken coop up and everything else and it's
- 0:57like oh this is great buying stuff and the dogs.
- 1:00Me in the truck. Come home, everybody still
- 1:03sleeping, my husband still sleeping, you know, my son's
- 1:06still sleeping and I have all these bags that I have to carry
- 1:10in and I grab the bags from the truck.
- 1:14I've probably got like, six bags.
- 1:18Some of them are heavy. Got glass bottles in them.
- 1:21I had some canning supplies that I bought heavy cases of stuff
- 1:25and for some reason in my head I do the typical thing that I do,
- 1:29which is Try to carry everything in the house all at once and I
- 1:34don't know why. I also had my husband's leather
- 1:36jacket that was left in my truck.
- 1:38So I was taking that in and as I'm walking in I realize I have
- 1:42this Epiphany about how many times have I done this?
- 1:45How many times have I picked up everything that I could from the
- 1:50truck struggling with it trying to carry it in the house?
- 1:54And I think to myself, huh? I wonder how many other people
- 1:57do this out in the world. I wonder how many other people
- 1:59try to carry and Thing at once. Now, mind you, I also have a
- 2:03giant 40-ounce tumbler, stainless steel, tumbler with me
- 2:08with a straw sticking out of it. That had a shake in it and of
- 2:11course, I'm trying to carry this all and not get myself covered
- 2:15in. What's left in the shade
- 2:16container as well as not break anything that I'm carrying.
- 2:20But you know how that works like when you're carrying everything,
- 2:23you know, you're going to drop something, you just know it's
- 2:25inevitable, you're going to drop something.
- 2:27And of course, one of the boxes slips out And then the next
- 2:31thing, you know, part of the stuff that I had purchased gift
- 2:35cards are on the ground and I'm looking at myself and I'm going.
- 2:38What am I doing? I don't have that far to go.
- 2:41I don't, I don't live where I have to carry it way upstairs.
- 2:45I mean, honestly, from the where I pull in with my vehicle to get
- 2:49inside, to get to the mud room is not that far.
- 2:53So what is the purpose for the struggle and I stopped, and I
- 2:57was going to record something totally different today.
- 2:58But then I thought this is so For Oracle for how we are as
- 3:02human beings and what we do to ourselves because the reality
- 3:05is, we all do this crap. We all say, okay, I'm going to
- 3:09carry all the bags so to speak in as the big metaphor goes.
- 3:14Now, I'm physically doing this, but I realized, wow, I do this
- 3:17all the time. I take on more than I should and
- 3:20I'm like, I can make it, I can do it.
- 3:22And it's almost like there's this mental challenge with
- 3:25myself of saying no, no, I can get this done.
- 3:27I can carry all these bags. I can do all this.
- 3:29Instead of just saying, Let me walk inside and there was
- 3:32nothing in there, except one container of orange juice that
- 3:35was urgent to get into the refrigerator.
- 3:37Other than that, what, what am I struggling for it?
- 3:41And it's not like I live in a high crime rate area where
- 3:43someone's going to come and take the stuff out of my vehicle,
- 3:48very weird, how this works in our head.
- 3:50So I thought, you know, I have to sit with this for a bit.
- 3:53So as I'm as I'm taking this out and pulling it apart, I'm
- 3:58realizing how much We all do this.
- 4:01How much I do this? How much I can I refuse to say.
- 4:05Okay, I'm just going to stop and I'm going to say, nope, that's
- 4:08not going to happen. I've been better at it in the
- 4:10last couple years where I've really said, no, I can't take on
- 4:14any more. No, I've got to draw a line in
- 4:16the sand. As far as certain things with my
- 4:19schedule go. But honestly I still see Bunches
- 4:23of places where I can fix this where I don't have to carry all
- 4:27the bags at once and spread it out if I have to or just be more
- 4:32realistic with time frames or just be more kind to myself
- 4:37about the amount of things that I actually can handle without
- 4:41having the stress of it. So I'm going to throw the
- 4:44gauntlet down to you guys today and say, how many bags are you
- 4:47carrying? Why are you trying to carry
- 4:50Everything at Once? How many things do you drop
- 4:52along the way? Because I know this is the thing
- 4:55that happens to all of us. And yes, I dropped my stuff on
- 4:59the ground today and Today, it was just things, but I wonder
- 5:03how many times, it's not just things.
- 5:05So I'm going to be very acutely aware of this for myself and you
- 5:10guys should look at this. This is this is not something
- 5:13that I think is a something that should be overlooked especially
- 5:17at the end of the year when we're trying to really figure
- 5:20out what we want to do next and how we want to move forward and
- 5:24the things that we want to maybe leverage to other people or give
- 5:27ourselves some Grace for. So take a look at it.
- 5:30Put the bags down. Make a couple trips.
- 5:33All right, I hope you all have a blessed day.
- 5:35I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.
