- 0:08Speaker 1: Hello everyone, and welcome into another episode of The check Odaily.
- 0:11Speaker 1: It's Andrew Dichecko, Eagles beat reporter for insidethebirds dot Com,
- 0:15Speaker 1: and Friday's practice was probably the steamiest of all of
- 0:20Speaker 1: the Eagles training camp practices. It was day seven if
- 0:24Speaker 1: you're keeping count with me, and they covered about ninety minutes.
- 0:28Speaker 1: They got a lot of work in. It was fast paced.
- 0:31Speaker 1: They were fully padded.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Today.
- 0:32Speaker 1: They had the walkthrough Thursday, which was close to the media.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Back on the practice field Friday and Saturday, and then
- 0:39Speaker 1: Sunday it will there's no practice.
- 0:43Speaker 2: And so with that, let's get to the.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Practice report from Friday, because there are some names on
- 0:51Speaker 1: there that you're sure to recognize not practicing. Wide receiver
- 0:55Speaker 1: Britton Covey with a hamstring, outside linebacker Keyshawn James, Newby,
- 1:01Speaker 1: wide receiver mackay Lemon hamstring, Wide receiver DeVante Smith hamstring,
- 1:06Speaker 1: safety Cole was Nesky hamstring, limited linebacker Chance Campbell groin,
- 1:12Speaker 1: right tackle Lane Johnson, he's progressing his workload, and guard
- 1:16Speaker 1: Michael Morris's shoulder. New Sixers star Jalen Brown was in
- 1:22Speaker 1: attendance and he was making his rounds and look to
- 1:26Speaker 1: be chopping it up with some of the Eagles after practice.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Today was Jalen Hurts' birthday, and at the end of
- 1:32Speaker 1: practice during that post practice breakdown afterwards, the team was
- 1:37Speaker 1: singing Happy Birthday to him. So Jalen Hurts his birthday,
- 1:42Speaker 1: and with that, we're going to get into the observations now.
- 1:48Speaker 1: The first team offensive line once again included rookie tackle
- 1:52Speaker 1: Markel Bell.
- 1:53Speaker 2: At right tackle.
- 1:54Speaker 1: The rest of the offensive line Jordan Mylott and Landon Dickerson,
- 1:58Speaker 1: Cam Jurgens, and Tyler This is interesting now because this
- 2:03Speaker 1: is the third day, third consecutive practice, I should say
- 2:07Speaker 1: that Mark hel Bell has worked with the first unit
- 2:11Speaker 1: on the offensive line. Clearly, he's showcasing something that intrigues
- 2:17Speaker 1: Sean Mannion, Chris Cooper, Nick Sirianni, and he's making the
- 2:23Speaker 1: strides that you want to see from a young player,
- 2:25Speaker 1: taking those steps in the right direction. He's moves pretty well,
- 2:29Speaker 1: and that's especially noticeable in pass protection. I think that's
- 2:32Speaker 1: the area of his game right now. That's probably a
- 2:35Speaker 1: little bit further ahead.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Than run blocking.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But when you watch the way that he moves out there,
- 2:40Speaker 1: it is something that catches your eye because he is
- 2:44Speaker 1: a mountainous offensive lineman, and you don't often see players
- 2:49Speaker 1: of that size be able to move the way that
- 2:51Speaker 1: he can. So that's great news for Mark hel Bell
- 2:55Speaker 1: and I'm sure the Eagles have to be thrilled with
- 2:57Speaker 1: where he is right now in terms of his development.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Also working in with the first team on occasion was
- 3:05Speaker 1: Drew Kendall, the Eagles second year offensive lineman. He mixed
- 3:08Speaker 1: in at left guard a little bit whenever Landon Dickerson
- 3:11Speaker 1: needed a blow or they just wanted to give him
- 3:13Speaker 1: some snaps off. And then at one point in practice,
- 3:18Speaker 1: center Cam Jurgens went to the medical tent.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Then he didn't return to practice. It didn't appear to
- 3:25Speaker 2: be anything serious.
- 3:26Speaker 1: You never know, so I'm not going to speculate on
- 3:29Speaker 1: what it could be, but I think if you're looking
- 3:32Speaker 1: at it from an optimistic point of view, it didn't
- 3:34Speaker 1: appear to be anything of significance based off of how
- 3:38Speaker 1: he was walking off. But nevertheless, replacing him with the
- 3:42Speaker 1: first team probably about halfway through practice and the rest
- 3:46Speaker 1: of it was second year offensive lineman Jake Majors.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Jake Majors is a player that.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I've talked about with Adam and I've talked about him
- 3:54Speaker 1: this offseason as someone that I was kind of interested
- 3:57Speaker 1: in seeing more and learning more about, because I've really
- 4:01Speaker 1: liked his tape at Texas. He was one of my
- 4:03Speaker 1: Day three sleepers last draft cycle, and I was surprised
- 4:08Speaker 1: a little bit that he didn't make the Buccaneers, but
- 4:10Speaker 1: the Eagles sign him to the practice squad after Week
- 4:13Speaker 1: one last year. He was on the practice squad the
- 4:15Speaker 1: rest of the year. This is someone who set a
- 4:17Speaker 1: Texas record with career starts. I think it's fifty six,
- 4:22Speaker 1: might come out to fifty seven if you're including a
- 4:25Speaker 1: playoff game.
- 4:27Speaker 2: But he.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Is a little undersized, at least in terms of height
- 4:33Speaker 1: when it comes to the center position, so you might
- 4:37Speaker 1: be taken aback a second when you watch him now.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He's taller than Willie Lampkin. He moves well.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And I remember talking to Drew Kendall and Brett Toath
- 4:50Speaker 1: last year and in conversations with both players because I
- 4:54Speaker 1: wrote a story about Brett Toath and his development, and
- 4:57Speaker 1: I should say his mentoring of the young offensive lineman
- 5:00Speaker 1: because after a while I started to see him working
- 5:05Speaker 1: with Drew Kendall and Jake Majors and Luke Felix Fulwalu,
- 5:10Speaker 1: who was the IPP player I believe last year. He
- 5:14Speaker 1: just seemed to be a Willie Lampkin as well. So
- 5:16Speaker 1: Brett just was sort of taking them under their wing.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And when I was talking to bretteth about Drew Kendall
- 5:22Speaker 1: because that was the objective of my story to learn
- 5:26Speaker 1: more about how he's helping a rookie offensive lineman along
- 5:29Speaker 1: at the time, and in conversation he brought up Jake
- 5:32Speaker 1: Majors and how his selflessness kind of like Drew Kendall
- 5:39Speaker 1: and serving a role in practice, holding the bags, doing
- 5:43Speaker 1: whatever it takes like. It's not something that you often
- 5:46Speaker 1: think about, and it certainly isn't.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Something that is front of mine on game day.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But players like that that aren't maybe factoring in on
- 5:56Speaker 1: game days. They're doing things on the practice field that's
- 5:59Speaker 1: helping prepare the starters. And I know that both Brett
- 6:03Speaker 1: and Drew made mention of Jake and Willie and some
- 6:07Speaker 1: of those other guys, so it's.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Something to keep an eye on. Now. I didn't think
- 6:12Speaker 2: that Jake did.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I didn't think he did too bad when he stepped
- 6:16Speaker 1: in there at center. And you may ask yourself, why
- 6:20Speaker 1: not put Drew Kendall in at center because he's going
- 6:22Speaker 1: to be the top interior backup for the Eagles this year. Well,
- 6:26Speaker 1: early on, Drew Kendall was repping at guard, and the
- 6:29Speaker 1: Eagles traditionally haven't been a team that likes to mix
- 6:34Speaker 1: and match.
- 6:34Speaker 2: On the fly.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Drew Kendall has had days where he's repping at center,
- 6:40Speaker 1: Jake Majors has had days where he's repping at guard,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and so early on in the day it was apparent
- 6:46Speaker 1: that today was a day that Drew Kendall was working
- 6:48Speaker 1: at guard and Jake Majors was working at center. So
- 6:51Speaker 1: maybe for continuity purposes they didn't want to switch that up.
- 6:54Speaker 2: That's just my guess. I don't know that, but.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I think it is interesting because you have two interior
- 7:02Speaker 1: alignemen who can play guard and center.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Drew Kendall's a player that they're really high on. He's
- 7:07Speaker 2: going to be their.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Top interior backup on game day. Major's on the other hand,
- 7:11Speaker 1: is going to have to fight to make the roster.
- 7:13Speaker 1: It's sort of an uphill battle, but just maybe the
- 7:17Speaker 1: Eagles are at least they want to see more of
- 7:20Speaker 1: him in certain scenarios, and so that was something to note,
- 7:25Speaker 1: But we'll keep an eye on what that all means
- 7:27Speaker 1: for Cam Jurgens. As I mentioned, it didn't look to
- 7:30Speaker 1: be anything of significance.
- 7:31Speaker 2: But of course I'm not going to speculate. We'll learn
- 7:34Speaker 2: more on Saturday's practice.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Now the key here will be if Cam Jurgens doesn't
- 7:42Speaker 1: practice tomorrow, do the Eagles roll it back with the
- 7:45Speaker 1: same lineup that they did today, That will be a
- 7:49Speaker 1: little bit more telling. This could just be a spur
- 7:52Speaker 1: of the moment or just a Friday plan because that's
- 7:55Speaker 1: the way that they had it mapped out.
- 7:57Speaker 2: But if it's something that they they.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Revert back to tomorrow and they have that same configuration
- 8:06Speaker 1: of the offensive line, well then that's something that's probably
- 8:09Speaker 1: gonna be a little bit more notable. On the second
- 8:14Speaker 1: team offensive line, at left tackle was Fred Johnson, At
- 8:18Speaker 1: left guard, Drew Kendall at center.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Well, this is starting the day. At center was Jake
- 8:23Speaker 2: Major's at.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Right guard was Willie Lampkin, and at right tackle was
- 8:28Speaker 1: John Ajukwu. Now, when Jake started playing with the first team,
- 8:32Speaker 1: they put Willy Lampkin at second team center, and he
- 8:36Speaker 1: was the third team center as well. They just wanted
- 8:39Speaker 1: to lighten the load there a little bit, but on
- 8:42Speaker 1: the back end they opened with Marcus Epps and Drew
- 8:44Speaker 1: mccooba as the safeties. Cooper Degen was in nickel and
- 8:48Speaker 1: the receivers were Hollywood Brown, Don Tavian Wicks, and Elijah Moore.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Keep in mind that the Eagles were without mkay Lemon,
- 8:58Speaker 1: DeVante Smith, and Britton Couvey, so that is going to
- 9:01Speaker 1: kind of alter things a little bit in terms of planning.
- 9:04Speaker 1: But Elijah Moore got involved early on a shallow crosser.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Dallas Gotter was in the mix early on sort of
- 9:12Speaker 1: a stop route with Rieke Wollen and coverage.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 9:22Speaker 3: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 9:24Speaker 3: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 9:29Speaker 3: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 9:33Speaker 3: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast,
- 9:36Speaker 3: no hassle, no waiting, and they don't just care about convenience.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Camden Apothecary is all about the guest experience. Their staff
- 9:44Speaker 3: makes sure you feel taken care of every time you
- 9:48Speaker 3: walk in. Plus they carry only the best quality cannabis
- 9:51Speaker 3: at the fairest prices, So whether you're stocking up for
- 9:55Speaker 3: the tailgate, the watch party, or celebrating a big win,
- 9:59Speaker 3: you know you and the good stuff without overpaying. They
- 10:02Speaker 3: even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 10:07Speaker 3: service members, and healthcare pros. Camed in Apothecary, top quality cannabis,
- 10:12Speaker 3: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Twenty one and up.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Michael Carter the Second mixed in a little bit with
- 10:21Speaker 1: Marcus Aps early on. Michael Carter the Second has had
- 10:26Speaker 1: a nice week and he plays three different positions for
- 10:30Speaker 1: the Eagles. He's their dime defensive back, their six defensive back,
- 10:34Speaker 1: he can play nickelback, and of course he's really been
- 10:38Speaker 1: leaning into safety this summer. But he's an interesting player
- 10:42Speaker 1: because while he does have a lot of versatility, this week,
- 10:46Speaker 1: I think he's done some really good things in coverage.
- 10:48Speaker 1: He seems to be playing with really good anticipation, good
- 10:52Speaker 1: recovery speed, and he just is playing a lot faster
- 10:56Speaker 1: than he was maybe in the spring and earlier in
- 10:59Speaker 1: training camp.
- 11:00Speaker 2: So that's a player that I'll absolutely be keeping an
- 11:02Speaker 2: eye on.
- 11:02Speaker 1: If you remember, if you think back to any of
- 11:06Speaker 1: the other podcasts that I've done, whether it be in
- 11:08Speaker 1: the offseason or even in the early stages of training camp,
- 11:11Speaker 1: I mentioned that I thought that Michael Carter the Second
- 11:13Speaker 1: was an interesting player to keep an eye on in
- 11:16Speaker 1: this safety race because of the traits that he has,
- 11:20Speaker 1: the short area of quickness, a lot of those things
- 11:22Speaker 1: that make an exceptional nickelback where you have to be
- 11:26Speaker 1: able to see things fast, you have to be almost
- 11:29Speaker 1: a hybrid, get involved in the run game, and understand
- 11:33Speaker 1: the responsibilities of all three levels of the defense.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:36Speaker 1: That that's fully appreciated, but that kind of is all
- 11:39Speaker 1: baked into why I believe that nickelback is the most
- 11:44Speaker 1: challenging position to play on defense. You can make the
- 11:47Speaker 1: case that it off all linebacker in a Vic Fangio
- 11:50Speaker 1: defense as well, but.
- 11:53Speaker 2: The point remains.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Michael Carter the second he had a nice day again
- 11:57Speaker 1: on Friday, and earlier in the week he had the
- 11:59Speaker 1: inner exception. He's just he's been pretty active. I think
- 12:03Speaker 1: that's a good way to put it. Wide receiver Darius
- 12:07Speaker 1: Cooper has had another he had another nice practice. He's
- 12:10Speaker 1: had a good summer Jalen Hurts hit him with a
- 12:13Speaker 1: bullet over the middle with Quinya Mitchell in coverage, strong
- 12:16Speaker 1: hands from Darius Cooper, and he does a really nice
- 12:20Speaker 1: job of being able to attack the football. He doesn't
- 12:24Speaker 1: he's not a body catcher. He gets his hands in
- 12:26Speaker 1: there and he's able to snatch it away if there
- 12:30Speaker 1: were a fifty to fifty scenario. He's someone that you
- 12:32Speaker 1: feel pretty comfortable coming away with it because he does
- 12:35Speaker 1: showcase strong hands and really good concentration looking it in.
- 12:39Speaker 2: That was another example of that.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Tanner McKee was first up with the second team, and
- 12:44Speaker 1: I thought that he had probably probably his best day
- 12:48Speaker 1: throwing the football this summer. And that's not necessarily a
- 12:52Speaker 1: high bar to clear because he hasn't been overly exceptional
- 12:55Speaker 1: this summer. But I thought that he was getting rid
- 12:58Speaker 1: of the football a little bit quicker, pushing the ball
- 13:00Speaker 1: downfield a little bit more. His receivers also helped him
- 13:03Speaker 1: out in certain cases where sometimes he's delivered it and
- 13:09Speaker 1: the passes have been dropped. But I thought he was
- 13:11Speaker 1: putting the ball in good spots. He liked the ball placement.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I like the pace in which he was getting rid
- 13:19Speaker 2: of the football.
- 13:19Speaker 1: He wasn't patting it as much, and that's something that
- 13:22Speaker 1: you want to see.
- 13:24Speaker 2: With the second team defense.
- 13:26Speaker 1: When they were out there, it was Jacory and Bennett
- 13:29Speaker 1: and Turie castro Fields were outside. They were mixing and
- 13:32Speaker 1: matching a lot, so that's important to note. Andbrey Thomas
- 13:35Speaker 1: also got in there. Mac McWilliams got in there. But
- 13:39Speaker 1: it was interesting that Turic castro Fields gets an early
- 13:43Speaker 1: nod in practice after having a nice showing.
- 13:47Speaker 2: On what day was it.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Wednesday where he had the interception and a pass breakup.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Look.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I mean, again, he's a long shot one would expect
- 14:00Speaker 1: to make the team, but it's notable that he's been
- 14:05Speaker 1: in camp with the Eagles for three years now. He's
- 14:07Speaker 1: a little bit of an older player relative to some
- 14:10Speaker 1: of the others in the room.
- 14:11Speaker 2: He's twenty seven.
- 14:12Speaker 1: He's bounced around, but I think that he's quietly put
- 14:17Speaker 1: together a couple of good days.
- 14:18Speaker 2: But nevertheless, that was the scenario there.
- 14:22Speaker 1: The safety pairing was Andre sam and Maximus Pulley. Linebackers
- 14:28Speaker 1: Jeremiah Trotter Junior and Smile Mandan junior.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Again, Trotter Junior with another nice day.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Reactive player, very instinctual he knows how to read his keys,
- 14:39Speaker 1: and he just has a really good feel for the defense,
- 14:42Speaker 1: and he plays with such timing, especially it's really noticeable
- 14:47Speaker 1: in the run game or he's able to diagnose things and.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Pursue the running back and sort of get a jump
- 14:56Speaker 2: on things. He makes up for a lot of the the.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Shortcomings athletically and the ranginess and the twitchiness at that
- 15:05Speaker 1: position with really high end football IQ and just a
- 15:12Speaker 1: great understanding of his responsibilities in Vic Fangio's defense, Jayalen
- 15:18Speaker 1: Hurtz threw a pass over to EJ Jenkins over the middle.
- 15:23Speaker 1: It looked like he had it, but Kapina Gushigin, who
- 15:26Speaker 1: also got some safety reps, he hit him at the end.
- 15:29Speaker 1: The ball came out, he got to hold onto it.
- 15:31Speaker 1: That's been the one thing that I've noticed with EJ.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Jenkins.
- 15:34Speaker 1: He has made tremendous strides as a blocker, a really
- 15:38Speaker 1: imposing blocker. That's something that he takes a lot of
- 15:43Speaker 1: pride in. He's worked a lot at it, and that
- 15:46Speaker 1: was really apparent to me when I watched the special
- 15:49Speaker 1: teams drills a couple days ago on kick return where
- 15:52Speaker 1: he was sealing off the edge and he just has
- 15:55Speaker 1: his hands and feet are in constant unison, and he
- 15:58Speaker 1: just seems to have.
- 15:59Speaker 2: A really good grip and power at the point of attack.
- 16:03Speaker 1: He's just got to be more consistent catching the football,
- 16:05Speaker 1: and that dates back really to last summer, but that
- 16:10Speaker 1: was another case in that one as well. Ty Robinson
- 16:15Speaker 1: got some second team work at defensive tackle, working with
- 16:19Speaker 1: Byron Young. That's really the first I particularly noticed Ty
- 16:23Speaker 1: Robinson in any meaningful way. He's been kind of buried
- 16:26Speaker 1: there in the on the depth chart, but I didn't
- 16:31Speaker 1: notice really anything one way or the other. Byron Young
- 16:33Speaker 1: is just a good football player who makes plays, whether
- 16:38Speaker 1: they're subtle or a little bit more pronounced. He I
- 16:40Speaker 1: think he's just a steady player. And nothing particular, nothing
- 16:46Speaker 1: in particular really stood out from either one of those guys,
- 16:48Speaker 1: but Andy Dalton. Andy Dalton had a nice completion to
- 16:53Speaker 1: Johnny Wilson deep down the field to.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Maybe about the five yard line. Mac McWilliams was in coverage.
- 17:01Speaker 2: It was just shorter the end zone.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Michael Carter got some more work today at nickelback in
- 17:08Speaker 1: addition to safety. He's just been bouncing around all over,
- 17:12Speaker 1: which again really speaks to his versatility and value to
- 17:16Speaker 1: the twenty twenty six Eagles. On the back end, Andy
- 17:20Speaker 1: Dalton tried sort of a deep over to Samari Torre
- 17:24Speaker 1: and Michael Carter shut it down.
- 17:26Speaker 2: He had the receiver blanketed.
- 17:28Speaker 1: That's another example of his coverage acumen that I think
- 17:31Speaker 1: could really factor into this safety conversation. Andy Dalton also
- 17:36Speaker 1: hit Cameron Lotu over the middle as the horn sound ending.
- 17:40Speaker 2: That particular period.
- 17:43Speaker 1: In a red zone scenario, Jayalen Carter got his hand
- 17:45Speaker 1: up to bat away a pass.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Jalen Carter has had a really nice training camp.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Again, Vic Vango alluded to him being in better shape,
- 17:53Speaker 1: probably contributing to it, but he's just been a wrecking crew,
- 17:59Speaker 1: one man wreck crew in some cases throughout the first
- 18:03Speaker 1: seven practices, and I think that's really going to bode
- 18:06Speaker 1: well for this season ahead for him now that he's healthy,
- 18:10Speaker 1: he's in.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Good shape and well, he just got paid as well.
- 18:14Speaker 1: So Willie Lampkin working as the second team right guard
- 18:20Speaker 1: is interesting, and I understand that I get a lot
- 18:22Speaker 1: of questions about Willy Lampkin and a lot of folks
- 18:25Speaker 1: want updates on him. That's kind of notable because he'd
- 18:28Speaker 1: really predominantly been repping as a third team center. I
- 18:34Speaker 1: think a lot of it just has to do with
- 18:35Speaker 1: mixing and matching. Again, if it repeats itself on Saturday's practice.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Then maybe there's a little bit more to it.
- 18:44Speaker 1: But I do think that it is interesting that they
- 18:47Speaker 1: were cross trending a mcguard a little bit because to me,
- 18:50Speaker 1: he kind of fits.
- 18:51Speaker 2: The bill of a guard.
- 18:53Speaker 1: He moves well, he has good strength, plays with good leverage.
- 18:57Speaker 1: He has the wrestling background, So I'll be certainly keeping
- 19:00Speaker 1: an eye on that for Saturday's practice. Once Jake Majors
- 19:06Speaker 1: was bumped to the first team, that second unit was
- 19:10Speaker 1: Fred Johnson at left tackle, Drew Kendall at left guard,
- 19:13Speaker 1: Willie Lampkin at center, Micah Morris at right guard, and
- 19:18Speaker 1: John Ujuku at right tackle. Darius Cooper had a nice
- 19:27Speaker 1: reception on a corner route with Michael Carter the nearest
- 19:31Speaker 1: defender on the play.
- 19:32Speaker 2: That was a good ball from Tanner McKee. He also.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Hits he wanted to go for the back shoulder throw
- 19:44Speaker 1: in one case, I think it was Johnny Wilson. Jonathan
- 19:49Speaker 1: Jones was in coverage on that play. Jonathan Jones was
- 19:53Speaker 1: a step too slow on that one, and that was
- 19:56Speaker 1: another really good ball from Tanner McKee that was in
- 19:59Speaker 1: the back corn owner of the end zone. Andy Dalton
- 20:03Speaker 1: hit Eric azukanma on an out route to the left
- 20:07Speaker 1: with Ambry Thomas in coverage, and then they pick on
- 20:09Speaker 1: Ambrey once again and go to this.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Time Brandon Hayes.
- 20:15Speaker 1: It was an identical route and Ambry Thomas was again
- 20:19Speaker 1: in coverage.
- 20:20Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean that that was the practice.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I think something that really stood out to me was
- 20:26Speaker 1: the consistency of Darius Cooper.
- 20:28Speaker 2: And again, I don't want to make too much of it.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I think he's got a really good shot at sticking
- 20:34Speaker 1: on the roster, But in terms of having a season
- 20:38Speaker 1: in which he has a sizeable role in the offense, well,
- 20:41Speaker 1: when you have DeVante Smith, Dallas Goddard, Saquon Barkley, dn
- 20:45Speaker 1: Tavian Wicks, who's had a really nice camp, you know,
- 20:50Speaker 1: Mackay Lemon, the Eagles rookie wide out, I mean, there's
- 20:54Speaker 1: only so many opportunities. But I think Darius Cooper has
- 20:57Speaker 1: proven that whatever role he's a sound, he's going to
- 21:00Speaker 1: go out there and he's going to embrace it and
- 21:02Speaker 1: he's going to do whatever the Eagles need from him,
- 21:05Speaker 1: and he doesn't really worry about targets, he doesn't worry
- 21:07Speaker 1: about the players in front of him on the depth chart.
- 21:11Speaker 1: He just goes out there and makes plays. And again,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I would say that he's been the third most productive
- 21:16Speaker 1: wide out for the Eagles in training camp, behind Devonte
- 21:19Speaker 1: Smith and Dontavian Wicks. He's had a hell of a
- 21:22Speaker 1: training camp and he continued to deliver with some big
- 21:25Speaker 1: time receptions on Friday's practice. And I think in the
- 21:31Speaker 1: preseason you're going to see him open things up even more.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It just seems like whatever quarterback he's working with, they seem.
- 21:36Speaker 2: To have a lot of trust in him.
- 21:38Speaker 1: So we'll see if that's able to progress in the
- 21:41Speaker 1: coming weeks. But Darius Cooper, again, it wasn't a mirage
- 21:46Speaker 1: last summer, certainly not because he's going back for an encore.
- 21:51Speaker 1: He's coming out there and he's putting on a show.
- 21:54Speaker 1: And I think that as a young player where there's
- 21:57Speaker 1: pressure and it would be easy to kind of get
- 22:02Speaker 1: overly infatuated and obsessive over the players in front of
- 22:06Speaker 1: you on the on the depth chart, what your situation
- 22:09Speaker 1: is gonna be. He just goes out there and plays man.
- 22:11Speaker 1: He just goes out there and does whatever the Eagles
- 22:14Speaker 1: need him to do, and he delivers whenever the ball
- 22:16Speaker 1: comes his way. So hopefully you get to check out
- 22:19Speaker 1: my story that's came up yesterday morning on insidethebirds dot com,
