- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome into Duval, daily presented by jing Jack.com, and fueled by brass tax coffee.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we've got Jaguar's training camp number 7, practice number 7, recap, excited to get into it.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Got back out there today after a day off yesterday, and today was kind of like,
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Relatively in 10th day, it wasn't full pads.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Tomorrow is the skrimmage, teal and white skrimmage.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be a long practice, a practice where they really get after it and try to get some good work done.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think they got good work done today.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: The last practice they had on Tuesday,
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: the defense really, really brought it to the offense.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: And there was some just lack of execution by the offense, but also the defense really bringing a focus and an energy to the field that the offense was not able to match.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: Today, I think there was a good amount of back and forth, but when it came to Trevor Lawrence getting on that field and the starting passing offense,
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: they were pretty close to unstoppable.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: They did a really good job.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna dive into it.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll say hit that high button.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: So...
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence, let's just get it started there.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: 12 or 14 today in team.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Two incompletions on 14 attempts.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: That is, that is something else.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's a really impressive day overall.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now, were they going against two's a good bit of that?
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they were, but that's kind of...
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: what they've been doing a lot, this can't so far, you know, number 2 defense, first number 1 offense, number 1 offense, first number 2, excuse me, number 2 offense, first number 1 defense, different things like that.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: So you've seen that a good bit, but, you know, Parker and Trevor had a really rough day, Tuesday, today, stellar, absolutely stellar.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: How many
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4 of his 14, and I think every throw he threw to Parker was complete.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Very impressive by him.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobian Myers had a very solid day, didn't have any issues catching the football, which is something we wanted to see him get improved there, but
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, the one, the first in completion for Trevor Lawrence today was a FOIA pass break up, got up and got it and then the other completion was a pretty accurate throw to Jabar Muhammad broke the pass up against Brian Thomas Jr. That was the only in completion that he threw Brian Thomas Jr's way.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: He had another good day today, getting open, multiple catches where he was able to get open against the defense and Trevor Lawrence was able to layer it in same thing, which a Kobe Britain strange got involved in the past game today as well, probably the highlight throw and catch was a deep shot backed up on their own goal line from Trevor Lawrence to Parker Washington.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: May have scored a touchdown on it, but
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Darfi was there, the rookie, seven, they're on pick, edge rusher.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: He was right.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's bang bang, it's hard to tell, but he beat his offensive lineman quickly, dispense with them quickly.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: It is very possible that that ends up being a sack.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: or a ball where Trevor Lawrence gets rocked while he's trying to throw it in a game so keep that in mind, but offense exactly what the doctor ordered today from the passing offense.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think the run game did way better today too.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Rodriguez was back in the team portion of drills.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: He ran the ball very, very well.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I thought, Basel Tutton ran the ball very, very well.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: Amirabdula had a good day, except for one play where Ventral Miller punched the ball out.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: After right after you see her, Abdullah caught it.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: He turned around and Miller punched it out and jumped on it.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: So that was a,
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: That was kind of like the one big hiccup for the Jaguar's running back today, but they went out and had a strong run, um, facial tuten, and Chris Rodriguez both had catches, and this one, it was good, it was just a good day for the offense.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: and now you get into the scrimmage tomorrow and it's like this is the defense punch back probably.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: And it wasn't all offense today.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is defense did something as I mentioned for a had a pass break up against Trevor.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Jawar Mughalman who continues to impress had a pass break up going against the ones and getting it against Trevor Lawrence with cover and Brian Thomas Jr.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson had multiple passbreak ups in team.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: That was impressive to see.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: As far as the injuries we should talk about that.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, Tristan Colone retired offensive lineman, the Jaguar Science Sam Moose to Free yesterday, so that's just a little bit of roster construction detail there.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Emmanuel Pregdon was dinged up, not sure what happened exactly, but he was playing and then ended up
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: ultimately working off to the side for the rest of practice after about midway.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Christian Brasswell was back in the team portion of practice, as I mentioned, or not, as I mentioned, but Christian Brasswell was back, so was Chris Rodriguez.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: So good to see Christian Brasswell back, because Joarmohama has been showing out, and now Brasswell actually gets an opportunity to compete now, instead of just working off to the side during the team portion of practice.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be, I think, a hotly contested back of the roster situation there.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think the same thing for Edge between Strigo and Dr. Fee and B.J.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: Green, B.J.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Green had a would-be sack today.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Trayvon Walker had a would-be sack today.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: Preston Hodge got an interception.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: That was good for him.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: The rookie undrafted free agent number 26.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: Kenny H. Lovely had a nice pass break up on the day as well.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned Antonio Johnson had Almost had an interception against Nick Mullins today, but had two pass breakups against Nick Mullins Josh Cameron
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: He had a really nice go up and get it.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: See ball, get ball, contested grab against Buster Brown in coverage.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: One thing I'll say about Buster, he has been in tight coverage pretty much all camp.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's not getting beat like, but there's guys making catches against him.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: So when these opportunities present themselves for past breakups, it would be I think Buster needs to get his hands on the football a little bit more.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Some of them have been really difficult spots.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's been put in, but he just got paid to be a starter.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: He used to be that dude.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned running back in general, I thought just had a strong day today, tomorrow Taylor, I'm here up dual outside of the fumble, DJ Dallas had some strong runs, but really Chris Rodriguez and Bacial Tutton leading the way.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Ventrell having that punch out again, his battle with Branson Colms for that weekside linebacker spot.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think is a really, really fascinating battle to continue watching for Hey Luke and I mentioned him getting a pass break up early on in practice.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: He was out for blood.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was getting after it after the whistle on every single play for a couple plays in a row, more than a couple of probably three or four plays in a row.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: So that was kind of fun to see just his energy and excitement getting out there during
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: And the final thing I really wanted to bring up here, Matthew Arrujo, I watched the corners individual a lot today, and I've done that a good bit.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: Try to go around and watch all the different positions throughout training camp.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: his intentionality and intensity, and like details that he harps on, he's fiery.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I really think he's a star in the making as a coach.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's past game coordinator kind of works with the cornerbacks of town.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think he is, he's got the stuff, he's got the good.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: So that's somebody,
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really excited is here.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing with Brian Picucci.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: Later on today, instead of doing standouts from practice today, we're going to talk about something I think with the Jaguar's roster construction and coaching that the national media is missing in a very big way.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: y'all have a good one.
